Damian Lillard Exits Game 2 vs. Lakers With Dislocated Finger

"It's a big sigh of relief for Lakers Laker fans at least four game last night as Anthony Davis comes out aggressive the Lakers beat the Blazers one eleven, ninety eight, and again, that was never even close but Robert. This is where things change really quick Damian Lillard leaves the game. Late in the third quarter at, you're trying to stick his hand in there. Poking in for a loose ball dislocated left index finger he went to the locker room had it taped up x-rayed and x rays were negative. So that's a really good thing for him. His status for game three D doesn't really have status right now he said he's GonNa play I mean. Yeah Antares DOT at. It's a little too early to tell. Obviously it's good news that he has the the it's been. A negative x Ray and generally when you have a dislocated finger like this I've seen some some doctors talk about it and say. The vast majority of people play the next game as long as it's not the next day and so clearly, it looks like Lillard could play. But suddenly rob you go from twenty four hours ago where the blazers were. Hey, with this are playoff we're red hot. This is look Lillard. Lillard play off each star bubble. MVP. Whatever you want to say about them and here they are now trying to figure out. Man, we got boat raced in game two, and now we gotta get ready for game three and we have no idea how this injury is going to affect our best player things have changed overnight literally in the result of that game and Lillard getting injured because even if Lillard was healthy, they were still not winning that game last night it was all lakers. When he left, they were down by thirty wasn't it? Eighty five fifty five or something like that I mean so. The finger thing I get it as we move forward. Jason but you know after game one, they came out and laid an egg and I'm not really all that surprise I know everybody was so caught up on Portland they were all Lynn Dame Lillard and all the you know the upset special I heard all that and I get it. The Lakers didn't. Play well in a bubble eight games will awful I mean go look at the numbers down at the bottom and so many different categories, and then they laid an egg in game one and play poorly. So of course, people were the you know you're going to hear more about it but I picked the Lakers in this series I just didn't think that. Portland was going to be able. Even throughout the struggles of the Lakers that they would eventually be able to to win and the hard part is and what's always to me the neutralizer in the NBA when you talk about teams is breeding team four times you know you beating Anthony Davis and Lebron James Four Times. That's that's not an easy task. It just isn't and I think that's Ultimately why for the most part in the NBA better team always

"With the situation for the NBA's playoffs. The Blazers lose Game two. And you say more than that. Yeah, they lost. They lost their best player Damian Lillard late third quarter with a dislocated left index finger up to that point, the Lakers were dominating any way they want the game by 23. Lillard had 18 was one for seven from three had X rays after the game. They were negative. Head coach Terry Stotts said. It's too soon to know if he'll be able to play in Game three. No. 8 Seed Blazers Shock Los Angeles Lakers In Game 1 Of Playoffs

"Portland. Right now. It's a Portland hoedown. Yeah, let's get it on Blazers beat the Lakers 100 to 93. They take Game one. Of this Western Conference first round playoff matchup, and there was never a moment where the Lakers were in control. There was a moment where they had gotten the game back to even but Portland was able to withstand that Damian Lillard with a huge night he goes for 34 points. He is perfect from the free throw line. Ah, McCollum and Newark. It's really did all of it between the three of them. They counted for over 70 points. It was a big night for them. Meanwhile, the Lakers they got 23. Read 17 and 16 from LeBron, who had a big night on the stat sheet. They got 28 from Anthony Davis. But the Lakers shot horrendously not so much about the missed free throws because they were 20 out of 31 Misty, nor inside the final four minutes. They did miss force turning four minutes, but they were five for 32 from three point range. Five out of 32. That's not going to do it in the bubble in the MBA playoffs when this is about offense. Putting points on the board. This was a horrendous offensive performance from the Lakers that had really bad performance is already in the bubble. You are worried about their offense, and I said no there find their figured out there figured out. This is tremendously awful, and of both one seeds to lose. Today I am way more concerned about the Lakers than I am about the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks losing to Orlando, Orlando gotta lead and the Bucks lost their

NBA playoff predictions 2020: Why the Lakers are unlikely to win NBA Finals, according to one model

"I'm glad that we finally are getting into like what I consider The meet of the season. The scrimmages weren't doing a damn thing for me. I could care less about the scrimmages that was for the players to get warmed up. That was to give everybody a chance to actually get something on the television screen. And then you know the eight games. I was like, whatever with a games I guess I felt like the Los Angeles Lakers, who went three and five during the eight games. Now they want to get revved up and try to win an MBA title and I get it. That's what I've been waiting for. So really, basketball is finally here. For me. It felt like a guy going over the weekend when the Portland Shura blazes one, they're playing game over the Memphis Grizzlies. John Moran went out and did what you would expect him to do. Ah, 35 points. I think he had eight assists, also had eight turnovers. He's still a young player. He's a killer. I hope he can get bigger. A little bit more devastating because he's a He's a rare combination in the MBA. He's going at your throat, but this year was not about him. Okay. This year is gonna be about who was gonna win the N BA title under an end Unique circumstances. Who's gonna walk away the N ba champion? In something and nobody would have ever thought about months ago. We actually didn't know whether or not we were gonna have a resumption of the embassies in I remember actually being on n ba TV. And when the season was shut down, I was hanging out with my main man, Channing Frye. We were getting ready to do our show and boom Rudy Gobert such positive and then Donovan Mitchell ends up testing positive and then the season shut down and nobody Back on March 11th knew what the hell was going on. And now that we got basketball back, it's real simple. It's what it is wide open. It's wide the hell open. I don't know who you could necessarily come out and say it is a favorite. Vegas right now says that the Milwaukee Bucks are a slight favorite over the two Los Angeles teams. In the Los Angeles Lakers. They haven't really had a great showing since the bubble got restarted. The offense has been mediocre. The offense has been pretty slapstick. The offense has been one of the worst in the N B A in the bubble. LeBron James. You know what you're going to get from LeBron. They sat him a game for precautionary reasons, had a growing issue but came back and everything is fine. And in the last game before the bubble he barely played got in a sweat, and they sat him down. Because LeBron James at this stage of his career, Yes, he's going to play basketball games that they're not gonna load manage LeBron James to death. But the reality is he's in it for rings. He's in it for a championship. He's in it for his legacy. Now. Unfortunately for him, he's playing what a bunch of role players that you can flip a coin and not necessarily know which direction they're going to go. Even his other superstar Anthony Davis. Needs to be more aggressive if the Lakers were gonna go ahead and make any type of move towards an MBA title. That's just the reality of it, and their opponent in the first round is not going to be forgiving. I told you that the Portland Trail Blazers have been on a roll. They have been on a run. You have. Ah, you're kitsch, who's back who missed almost all the last season of the majority of this season is well due to a leg injury. You have a rejuvenated Carmelo Anthony, who's not tasked with going out there and show shouldering the entire scoring low but can still knock down a big shot. Whether or not it's efficient or not. That's a totally different question. CJ McCollum is bowling out of control with a fracture in his back Gary Trent Junior is stepping up. So you might say that the Portland Trail Blazers at this point in time that they have more depth. That they have more of Ah street. That they're coming in with a little bit more fire in their back pocket. Even know in many cases, LeBron James to most, I would say too many is still considered the best basketball player in the league. You might say it's Yana, Santa Campo. But if I need someone to still run me to a title, I'm still looking at the guy who's done it the majority of his career and that's LeBron James. But they do have some issues and Damian Lillard he has his own thoughts about taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. Listen, what little it had to say The lady is the number one seed in the West for a reason. They got the best player in the world on a team. But at the same time we didn't fight a Zhar does before in the bubble, just they argued a sea org Anges Get beat up on. We feel like We have it. We have a chance in a serious against anybody in this league.

And unless if your son's fan of the sons they got a victory today, they're still undefeated inside the bubble or unless if your grizzly span or you still give this the Spurs a puncher's chance. And you have the pelicans and the Kings now eliminated If you just like basketball and let's say you don't have a dog in that fight. "All right. So the backstory Tio what took place yesterday between the Trail Blazers and the Clippers game, missing two free throws at the end. Clippers Go on to win the game. Pat Beverly on the bench, pointing to his wrist, same time waving goodbye. The wave goodbye is from last season member in the NBA playoffs, Dame hit that game winner and then he did the bye bye to the Oklahoma City Thunder, which Paul George was on that team at the time. "Welcome back to Jalen. And Jacoby we are joined by Damian Lillard Dame so you mentioned last segment that you would like some sort of a play tournament for the Western Conference seeds and you mentioned that you have never kitchen collins definitely coming back. And I'm doing the math. Break up thinking that's a potential matchup with Lebron. Ad and the Lakers on that potential matchup in the playoffs would be fun. I think on kind of season has been a challenge season We haven't had the most success number. We've contained a battle and we know what we're capable of when they do click and you know in the blades are just about know who's planning best. Who's in the bedroom So we know that we'd have we'd have a chance against anybody obviously Lakers with us An APP not via itself when Polo professionally always won't be evident that type of challenge dame some of your greatest heroics have taken place in the playoffs. Multiple game winning shots. How you broke up the city thunder in the gym right now. Getting shots up in the back of your mind. Are You thinking of that? Image against a Lebron James Leonard. Nah I don't even think the warrant there's like I'm just like I just be imagined myself advancing by our guy won the way. I just try to imagine like our to deal what it would look like us to be to the next thing so I got a follow up to that. I had a follow up to that. I don't follow up to that. You Shot Down Russell. Westbrook podgorze and broke up their squad. Their young playoff series was real test. Pg said it was a bad shot so from that year to this year. Like what type of motivation does that give you? Knowing that you've got a chance to be in that position again. I mean I was looking forward to it. You know for me. It wasn't about Being in that position unit was like we've been in the playoffs the last six years for one. You don't want you don't want that street to end and you don't want to play a full season and not put yourself position. Have a chance to like fight for what we blamed for. And that's what that's what I think about Especially once we got to the Middle. Pass the midway point of the season where it was are. We got to make a big push. Now we do it. That's what I was thinking about. You know we got to give ourselves a chance to compete for you. Know just if we get in that top aide. We're GONNA have more guys healthy anything happen. You know is uphill battle either way but I'm just trying to get in position to to to get net at final once we get in there then a mystic and his like whatever happens happens so let's imagine a scenario which there's a sort of a group stage or playing tournament to get into the playoffs and then we get into the playoffs and maybe there's a couple of positive tests that take out. Some Stars Swing the way that playoff series would normally go all these conditions in the two months off. Do you think this season this championship would have some sort of asterix attached to it. I don't think I know made we were. We was the team there or some took place or whatever happened and we end up winning. I'M NOT GONNA lose no sleep if we win so I'm GONNA be right. We wanted we all under the. There's always injuries and there's the lockout season there's not asterix those championships and we will have more with Dame Lillard Raft Tuna Jalen Jacoby. We're back in two minutes. Welcome back to Jalen and Jacoby. We are joined by Damian Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers There's something happening in the America that we need to discuss in Minneapolis. Their protests last night in the wake of a video being released jumping named floyd dying under the custody of the police officers there in Minneapolis. We see something like this happen. What Role Do you feel? Athletes have in the fight against social injustice. I think our rollers Is being a collective voice just because the platform that we all have on? Nfl that you know a lot of us have family that are still living in these communities in not potentially being these situations every day so I feel I. It would never be right for us to not be president and be participating in some way shape or form when he type of thing. Take place you know to just to raise awareness into. This is the reality. These days are are really happening in is not okay well dame first of all I wanNA thank you so much for taking the time from your.

"lillard" Discussed on The Stephen A. Smith Show

"Situations just asked Russell Westbrook and Paul George how they feel about him with the ball in his hands. When crunch Tom's arrive we know what Damian Lillard do especially James Harden because he did James Harden the White House those boys against Houston and the postseason years ago. He's a big top performing big moments. He's perennial all star is special and by the way a beautiful rap artists to which you can speak about. Max If you so choose what I would say to. You however is this. I Love Him and C. J. mccollum together. They are an elite back. Court I don't believe the two of them together based on how the League is constructed can win a championship together in Portland. So one of them has got to go for you to acquire assets for the other to be to shine without having shared the basketball. I think that's what it's going to take. I don't think you're going get that unless one of them has moved. Which is why I say I have told I have told Damian Lillard this he will tell you. I said New York City even though because as being biased Max as the Knicks Fan but the Lakers I would love. Could you imagine if Lebron head Damian Lillard to kick the ball out to my God? Lois have mercy. I mean low us. I'm sorry I got distracted. I just fantasize it. I just thought Spanish right now. Lebron James and Anthony Davis with Damian Lillard kick the ball out to who could pull up from forty literally forty. I mean Oh that would be something special. But I'm allowed to fantasize I'm allowed to dream that ain't gonNA happen but that's what I think it would take. I don't believe that Damian Lillard will ever win a championship in Portland. Because I don't believe Portland will ever have the assets to win the chip in that city. I just don't even. I don't believe that time is money. Money is time when you stay focused. Man You look up and your money is fine. Dan Dollar Dame Corron Damian Lillard can win a championship. It's possible but in order for that to Happen Mule. She can't just be a very good. Gm which he is. He's a very good excellent. He has to be a hall of fame. He has to be encouraged. And what do I mean by that? Prime Prime Free agents. Don't sign in Portland. They never have. Maybe they will sometime but like people really need to think about this new only cities that rhyme time free agent signing. I don't mean guys who might make an all star team. I mean guys who might win an MVP or warm weather cities and major metropolitan areas even with the history. Because they don't do it in New York until K. D. in Cairo did in Brooklyn but the Knicks. Don't get prime-time free agents. Really Allan Houston me. So so what do you have to do? Can Lillard be tied for the Best Player in a championship team for him to win a championship? He's going to need another guy at least was good as him. Cj mccollum excellent that nurtures excellent not as good as those two but very good piece. They share done a great job getting talent to Portland through the draft. What they need to do now is probably draft and develop a wing who can be an all star caliber player. I take your on. Espn news. I'm not going to react to anything. The blazers need to drastically differently. Because let's understand it. They came into. The season was sneaky expectations now. The fact is to to some injuries and slow start. They didn't meet some of those expectations. But do we believe that they can go on a run. I don't know if I'm a blazers fan. I still think that man if we get some truncated version of the season and a playoff moving forward. It's going to give me opportunity to get something done and do something special. That straight talk straight. Talk wireless everything. We're less only at Walmart. We WanNa keep taking your take. You guys fired up about all things. Rooney rule I take your take on. Espn RADIO ESPN news. We've had a lot of discussion about it today. I'm happy to let you guys becky Minnesota Becky. What are your thoughts? What you got on the rule. Well I'm looking at a little different take and then. It's more career path between coaching and playing. Because all these coaches have college degrees and I know Mike Tomlin and Brian Flory's and anthony land all went and got their college degrees and so I'm just wondering if more people need to stay in college getting that cue. Well yes as the money used to be so much different between the NFL and college football did they. Were much different tracks. You know you wanted one of the other you wanted the NFL for bigger profile bigger money. That's no longer the case. So yes there is some level of the ability to go back and be part of the college game. I think for that though for a lot of coaches comes down to what really excites you. A college coaches especially assistant coaches in the college game. We're faced with so much recruiting work to do so much work doing tracking students. It's really about a love the university you go to versus a pro NFL coach. Who is immoral situation where there about the a nose? It's supposed to be about moving forward in that sense so I understand what you're saying about the degree now. Part of that is because when you're done playing trying to figure out what's next so are you going back and finishing your degree on a necessity out of. I don't know what I'm doing my life right now or out of going straight into the pipeline of being able to coach. I will say this. If you've been a successful quarterback that knows how to teach the game teach the position of quarterback. I don't know the degree necessarily helps you on that too much and without going into my other tangent. This is why I do believe that athletes should be given the opportunity to major in their sport. If you had the opportunity to major in football like I had the opportunity to major in Violin. Performance that exists. Then you could actually learn things that you need to know to make you a better coach. Schools could be doing things to help the coaching tree. In General Allen Pennsylvania always love it when alcohols al. What are you got man? What's your take on this task? Jason thanks for taking my call Before I get started I want to ask you a question I do you. Do you know who the first minority head coach was to win a super bowl? Tom Flora's I believe okay. Yeah absolutely right below writers. Yes absolutely you know and he wanted to. He wanted to them as a matter of fact here. Here's a guy that Al Davis Was hiring minorities. He had hired to minority coaches before anybody else. I ever hired one because later on in that. Same DECADE HIRED. Art Shell Tom Floors naturally. Use IT I two in which you know. He won two super bowls. Which made Jim Plunkett? The first minority quarterback to win a to win a super bowl. And I. I've always taken objection to the this being called the Rudy rule when Al Davis hiring minorities long before this Rooney rule came out. And you're not. You're not wrong about that. I think it's called the Rooney rule because it was the rule family that that proposed the rule be instituted. But I've long since that as a raiders fan. I'm proud of the fact that Tom Floors. Our show. Our coaches that were hired without question and in fact when I have high level questions on what things mean around. Nfl The the NFL topics. I've got something really deep. I need an understanding on amy. Trask is somebody. I go to on twitter all the time. That was a front office. Executive for the raiders as well. So you know I wanna live in a world where every team hires male female black white doesn't matter what your nationality is doesn't matter where you're from just matters. Can you coach. Can you run a franchise? That's where we WANNA live. Unfortunately that's just not happening and again as Jim. Trotter pointed out when he tweeted about this from the NFL network when he pointed out we have the lowest rate right. Now that we've had in seventeen years now should be pointed out as was tweeted by the NFL network and trotter as has been verified by ESPN right now. It looks like the proposal that we've been talking about to vote on. This has been tabled. This is from Jim Trotter. A little bit ago said. Nfl owners have tabled a resolution to incentivize the hiring a minority coaches and general managers per source. I'll go back to the name. I just mentioned amy. Trask who I think is smarter than virtually everybody on this. Who then quote tweeted and said this is what is most often done when they're not not enough votes to pass a proposed resolution. Trust me on this. Okay I do trust amy on this she would know so what we what she's saying is this isn't going away but there's not enough votes right now to make it happen so it's at least temporarily tabled. We're not tabling your take on it..

Well you gotta think something. I would really want to do every day because I may be doing it for ten years. I know what that's like. You know so. You really want to choose something that you could imagine doing. And I thought I want to work with these women and I want to go on this wild caper. It just seemed like such a laugh and so weird and different and it's also very intense so I do you know I didn't sort of consider like a well. I'm going to be incredibly stressed out every day and this high anxiety level and the stakes are really high. Of course you have to play all that you know so. It's kind of exhausting. But what if and now? I'm assuming that you and men ready get along really well. We did from the beginning we did. I knew may casually we had done some Animated things together so met each other through that I had never met Reta I in fact called. May and I said you know I'm thinking about doing this. Show I I hear. You're doing it what he thinks she's like. I think it's going to be the best thing ever and we just like hit it off like house on fire. When we all met and here we are three seasons. And that's we know each other so well we can order lunch for each other in the other person's around we're like no no no. Do not put tomatoes on reticent. Please send it back. We can't deal with it We all know each other and we and we know how we react to things and we sort take care of each other well. It sounds like you know I'm making light of it but to be on a series where you work long days. Yeah so you. It's good if you get along. It's amazing and because we are playing these really stressful intense scenes to have people that you love so dearly to laugh inbetween takes you know. Make the day lighter. It just changes everything. 'cause you're right we're there for fourteen hours a day and and You know it's it's nice to have like comfort him between and just get pissed off together and be happy when something is really making you angry. Oh Yeah we've got each other's back if something's upsetting the other. Were like yeah. Yeah what she said. Yeah we're team because we're scary you know and you could. You could do that. You know your director and Toy Story. Four where you were doing the voice of. Gabby Gabby I read a quote from Him Josh. Cooling where he said There's the thing about Cristina where she has this very sweet affect and an a sweet voice and then she can turn on a dime and being medicine and cold. We're just that calm and we did have fun playing with that. I mean the sweeter the croupier right. I don't know I. I ended up playing a lot of characters that have that dichotomy that they have come across as an innocent. But there's this underlying thing to drive to firefly. I think it started with firefly's the first time I had a character like that. And maybe maybe maybe one lead to another. Maybe when they opened a script they thought now. Who can do this? You Know Christina Hendricks this are doing on firefly so maybe one led to the other. Because I don't think I'm duplicitous. That's my own personality. Christina can do cold and creepy short she can go to increase drake's he's ready to do it for those people that are having caught up yet or just beginning to catch up with good girls. Who were you playing describe this? I play your typical midwestern. Mother middle class hardworking organized but found herself sort of on autopilot and lost maybe sight of her dreams or what her needs were and each cheating on her she found her husband is cheating on her lured that Matt Lillard just so great And then my sister who's a single mother is struggling to keep her child protected and safe and in school and my best friend has a daughter with an illness. And so we all find ourselves in this place where we need money to sort of take care of our families and keep roofs over their head and we. We decided that the best logical solution is to rob a grocery store. And we'll go and get the money Jill with all of our problems and go on our on our way But of course one thing leads to another and we fall into life of crime and it's a quirky

"You hit the playoffs out of the gate. Okay see I was in range like arranges the logo. I was and again here man. Listen man you should've you. Should you should know rain. Ramush it but it's not like the wrinkles life free. What what made you like? You know coaches. Don't listen to Dan as like what made you. Just start shooting an and being comfortable with shot because that's accountable site like guys gotta actually Gordon you will have caught here is not the I put my feet on the three point line with you and and this is part of your game. Now I'm seeing all these gained sixty games all this stuff and you shoot network from the logo like what what. How is that at that much and rains into editor to your games? I mean I. I've always shot deep in High School College. I've always shot deep because in high school. I was the best player Iman Team in college. I was the best player so teams always trying to stop me so that was like the cleanest shot. I could get some time so I'll just shoot it from depots and then When I got league I think it was my my six year when we got swept by New Orleans in the playoffs was three C. And had home court. They swept us in nearby. Who just killing us. They was killing me like all he didn't show up and all that stuff but they was traveling me double teaming. Three bodies is low note. I couldn't I couldn't even get a shot off but still I wasn't vintages not try so I would just missing couldn't ongoing But then that summer I was like I GOTTA. I figured I'm OUTTA teams has gone keep doing this. And my trainer feel begging was like we gotta start training further out. We've gotTA develop your gain further out so you can get yourself more space. So we started off like he's doing foundation shooting so I started off shooting deep without jumping. No momentum is dip raise up and just put out jumping and then we started doing it off the bounce. Then we started moving into it and then we started doing catch and shoot quick releases just like under a second just firing and then we started doing shooting drills from that distance and then we started ending workouts doing autos drills from distant so it was like when. I was tired when I didn't have momentum when it was the end of the workout when I was coming back to shoot at night for second workout. We were just working at range. Just could be able to play from further out. They wouldn't have to be able to just take my space away so easy so like now teams. Try to do it now. They'll run to people at me but I'm so far out when they do it a lot more space or more around to cover so when they start running at me is easy pass or if they run me. I can get around one or two defenders over space on thousands really started after we got swept and I was like all right. We got starches working from further out. So it's been like two and a half years now where. I do it all the time like even during the season I still when I saw you last year at the USA thing. I was waiting for them to get done. 'cause I was about to shoot right before the playoffs they see does not found out. He's telling me he was up against some waters from facility. I say you know that's right so it was like just doing it during the season just constantly standing routine and just.

"The Memphis Grizzlies took down the Portland trail Blazers one eleven a one all for the big story from this game that was Damian Lillard re injured his growing and immediately after the game told the media that he will not be going to the all star game because the injury so the NBA's gonna have to come up with a replacement for Damian Lillard who is who's not going to he was supposed to be part of the three point contest in the actual game itself so neither of those things are gonna happen for Dane

"And I think that that makes them favorites in the next round like Paul said, and then the conference finals, I know anything can happen. But it's the goal and say well here here's the other fly to throw in the winter. The second round though, and his canter went to the podium last night with his arm, and he said that he separated his shoulder in the first quarter took a painkiller shoddy time so he could play through. And he said he's like look I intend to play through. I'm not missing in a games, but he will be limited. They've already taken a hit that position with. So is just something to watch big four clearly really big for them. Get especially on the offense of glass. How many times where they were coming up with big second time opportunities because of him. But you know, it's tremendous Kanter and the blazers need to root for the Spurs from here on out because they needed not not for who they wanna play. And I'm not saying the Spurs would be an easier opponent. I'm saying that they want that series to go seven so Denver's on the brink of winning that if San Antonio can at least win game six that gives them extra days gives Kanter extra days, and that could offend whether they get to the conference finals, I do the damn side. And there's though by showing you what he posted on. I g just today. It is the unemotional reserved calm detached warrior who wins not the hothead. Steam engines, not the ambitious seeker fortunes. I mean, it's sons his talking. Roller. Leagues you guys see the Kris Haines thing. So the night before Christmas goes to dinner with Damian Lillard. And if you re he's talking while before the game, even started he said he'd say he told Russell Westbrook hiding from this. Yes. From his weapon, he made it he knows he was showing a social media. There's actually a Damian house, and he was showing people over and Chris says that the Damian showed on his screen, just the social media clip. Basically, you know, Willard is guarding Westbrook on a majority of possessions and Westbrook keeps switching off Dame. When they come down on the other side, also finish these mother lovers tomorrow. That's what he said dinner the night before. Penny, and he talks it when he needs to talk. Call. That's right. Quote, the great. I mean, it is saying towns. All right. Let's talk about the thunder side. Because remember they Mason the lower seed, but they actually came into this series favored by Vegas. Just look at the final game. Okay. Guys had a fifteen point lead with six minutes to go and blew it. And this is the third year in a row they've been unable to make it out of the first round. So Paul Lewis most the blame here for this. You'll be easy to tack. Russ will be easy to time Paul George, but I put a lot of this Billy Donovan, you know, this is the third year in a row does team flamed out in the first round. It's not like they didn't have the talent favor heaven lived up to expectations in the regular season. I mean, we looked at this team before the season started. I mean, there's no way we thought this'll be a sixteen. So I think there's a lot of flaws in their offense and defensive systems that they can clean up the talent. Is there? There's nothing they're to be able to do with this roster. No cap space. So I think they need another voice. I think they need another voice. Westbrook needs to have a voice that he can respect and listen to order for this team to recent next level interesting. Yeah, I'm glad you kinda brought this out because it's time for blame. Blah, Oklahoma City. Ooh, we got graphics now. Ten percent of Billy Donovan for the reasons that Paul said, you're the head coach it's your responsibility to get this team on the right page off of defensively..

"But she didn't know win. And how watching them suffocating his mother's arms on his wedding day. Brought tears of joy I had that same feeling watching Dame Lillard. Wave goodbye to Westbrook after drilling thirty seven foot dagger as the buzzer sounded my God. There is Justice in this world. The good guys do beat the bad guys Damian Lillard eviscerated the thunder with fifty points more than that during the series. He provided the closing argument that Westbrook's triple doubles are more gimmick than winning substance. That is the story of this first round playoff series. This series says more about Westbrook than Lillard. I do not say that to diminish Lillard. He is awesome on and off the court. He gives back to community in Oakland. He went back to college and finishes degree. He's committed to the Trail Blazers organization and doesn't appear interested in jumping other teams to chase titles, and he might be the next Steph curry, but last night was about the villain. Westbrook. Who got what karma demand? Let's don't be prisoners of the moment. Lillard has done this exact same thing before in two thousand fourteen Lillard drill. The twenty eight footer at the buzzer to win a first round playoff series against the Houston. Rockets. Plea wins the series. Lourdes. Thurs? Westbrook's fall is what makes this game winner. More significant last night. Nearly everyone claimed Lillard game winner over Paul George will be shown for years and years. No, it won't not of Lillard fails to elevate himself in the blazers moving forward. You know, why TV networks replay Michael Jordan's nineteen Eighty-nine nine series Clinton shot over Craigie low because of what Jordan accomplished in the nineteen nineties the shot, which has its own Wikipedia page. Symbolizes Jordan's launch into immortality right now. Lillard dagger symbolizes. Westbrook's fall into laughing. Stop Westbrook is king Joffrey people celebrated his assassination Yussef Noushin, the blazers injured center Hoy shirt inside the Portland locker room that trolled. The now did triple double king west brick is Russell Wessels nickname across the league. And his slogan is. Next question. The response. He gives local calms berry Trammell who dares to question him at the moment. The villain is more memorable than the hero this morning. I had to look up who killed king Joffrey and game of thrones. I couldn't remember I thought it was Tyrian Lancaster. But I clearly remember Joffrey ashen face the blood running out of his nose and the look of horror on his mother's face. Westbrook's bricks surly attitude fan confrontations and chaotic style of play overshadow Lillard first round playoff aerobics. I joined the death now Fox Sports NBA analysts iceberg. "Morodor's perform well last night but to me is just my preference the story for me is portland you have damian lillard you have cj mccollum jerky just healthy you look at the pieces that they have in place i mean on all of these guys they can play they would've number three seat even though they you know they took him the last game of the season secured a number three seed nevertheless they all what they are it's one thing to lose the series they are getting annihilated they got destroyed last night this score was i watched ain't surprise shot i'm shot if you lose you lose you could be down to one it could go six instead of seven or something like that all right that's fine because the teams were relatively close but to see them get their butts waxed the way that it has been happening to see damian lillard damian lillard in this series is shooting thirty two point seven percent he has been put under lock and keith we talked about him being a star mister clutch or what have you came talk about how one series has essentially diminished and and and just dissipated your value i mean drew holiday if you look at it draw a day is bigger he's stronger and he's more solid on both ends of the court we all know but we still didn't expect this not like this this is an annihilation and i understand it's just a choice there's no right or wrong here you're looking at it from the pelicans perspective and.

"I don't i know don't know if i knew the answer to the question does it body i mean i would prefer people to say he's doing with damian lillard does because that would tell me that they pay attention i've been doing this came into lead the fact that they gotta use another man somebody compete against to describe what i'm doing man just just say i'm going with what i've been doing since they want but i mean i don't get my feelings about it i think everybody knows that i take it upon myself to to handle it on the court oh i'm always going to do that i think that's the best way to grow buddy how do you handle beer from over the hometown team goes they wars what they're doing right now how how do you handle that from a competitive standpoint and just that's being your background on i mean i'm happy for him i think that's as far as it goes i'm happy no i obviously i would prefer v my team is that it but as far as it goes on i'm happy to be able to experience that because it was always wondered worst teams in the league when i was growing up until like van davison mccain but i mean i don't don't make me feel no way so i want i want to try this this week with the unwritten rules unwritten rules in basketball and i have to take issue with your day.

"Okay that ship maybe maybe not so believable we're like you have arrived officially but the reason why i really am damian lillard stan just like you royce because you know you made the comparisons to golden state and that back court and there are a lot of comparisons there just a number of points that these guys generate how they're pretty much the the core of the team before the team even found itself you know as you mentioned ed davis you nook it all those guys but one thing that makes damian lillard some guy you really reports because he's very relatable in the same way steph curry does i saw you saw the way i don't know if you guys saw was going by rule the little kid that was crying when damian lillard met him it was all over his instagram over instagram and the kid he was crying because it was the first time he has meeting daily damian lillard and you know it's funny there are a lot of kids that see lebron james or steph curry but like this kid here's an tears and like damian lillard had the time to not only sign him to talk to you talk to the little kid and that just is everything today he's just an everyday guy and you know this brings me back to nba all star so we're both adidas athletes and i've had the opportunity to win games so these are two instances in which this guy he really puts his team like he's more than the game honestly we were working the women's about a girls basketball camp in a league girls camp in portland he had the day off in portland and he chose to spend his one day off in the middle of the nba season to come to this high school into to come see these girls compete and you stay there the whole time he signed all their pictures and this is his day off and he just did that on an impulse that's what he does we're nba all star literally it was the adidas party was spun it was turned.
