It's a Tuesday and I will because I can and I want to. Happy birthday to the department of now 12. My little girl's 12 years old today very proud of you, socks. Well done. Good work managing me for a dead. For the last 12 years, right, onto the subject of the day and that is not it. The day is roger to Ivan. We're going to be joined by Tony Johnson shortly as we look at roger trivas chicks future if he doesn't start for the all blacks or come off the bench over the weekend. Does he ex hear a future in this squad in Sam and possibly are looking to miss Saturday's test Tony Johnson will join us on those subjects and more and then we'll take your calls on. All 880 ten at 80s as we look at the future and we're roger actually slides into the all black sit up. We'll also catch up with Shane juergensen, Blake kept assistant coach in charge of the bowling predominantly on the black caps T 20 squad that was announced today for the upcoming World Cup of T 20 in Australia and we've got a WRC rip coat rally competition for you as well later on in the piece. But it's per before we do any of that. Let's do a whole lot of this. Sport today. And in sports today, what's up with the skipper? Only a conjecture around with that same K will sit up at the park on Saturday night, assistant coach, Jason Ryan. Has often this. World rugby protocol and it's a protocol for the all blacks and have got the utmost interests for our players, so we'll do everything we can to get that right and there'll be no risks at all. Still on kittens and another one of the Cain variety that's crickets Williamson. He doesn't sound like he's too keen to release his grasp on the amb band across all three formats. Naturally I think as you do something for a long period of time and your life changes for a number of different reasons. You always revisiting that to make sure you keep nice and motivated and very passionate. It's still with captains and why not sunshine girls that skipper Shimon Nelson is all about her eyes fall after her team's politely put travel chaos. Yeah, it's definitely not a good look, but I think what we can do mainly is athletes is just probably focused on what the job is at hand. I know all of that's already happened but we can't go back to the past. Fit ish is a fiddle needle up and ready to throw clubs at the upcoming French Open in Paris and it's out Ryan Fox managing his meniscus. Making sure that all the muscles and the legs are strong and they can support it because the tears always kind of gonna be there and settle down pretty quickly with an injection last week as well and I've been able to walk the golf course over last weekend at some balls without any pain. The white fans crazy old Duckworth Lilith Victor in the Caribbean the morning merely Kerr actually didn't know about the equation needed after bad light stopped play, but it kept in Sophie divine did. Certainly marched on out there with thin piece to paper, which was helpful that I'm largely what was happening and I was really aware that it was going on. That's nice to get the win in the end. Indeed, it was merely was unbeaten on 47 at the end and let's finish with taina halfback Aaron Smith. Eyes forward. Everything boils down to this weekend and we're going ourselves a shot and yeah, I'm pretty excited. Now the reviews done get the plans for this week and Helen. And that sport today. 13 pasta is 7 minutes take a look forward now to all black selection that comes out on Thursday ahead of the final home match for the all blacks of the 2022 season. Planning on the line as well in terms of that all black selections across a number of positions, but we're going to focus on our TS to start with anyway. Welcome to the program Tony Johnson. I trust your will. Yeah, I'm good, thanks, vital. I think there's plenty on the line. I'm sure our Friends across the Tesla and all that happy at the moment. So I think there's all sorts of points to be scored here and eating practice for sure. There is let's start things off this positions of conjecture, I suppose, here with what happened last week. One of them being the midfield. Roger two of us are shake, it's been there or thereabouts, but never really been in. He's kind of dipped his toe in all black representation. Does he have a future in the all blacks beyond the test match? This Saturday when you look at all the midfielders coming back again, TJ? Well, you'd like to think that he'd be part of the picture going forward. It's been a lot of frustration up until now does. You know, I think that goes back to last year when because what we now know to have been a bit of an overreaction Auckland and Northland and kept and locked down and so Auckland couldn't play in the NPC. And that denied and what could have been some valuable time. I would have loved to have seen him playing an NPC campaign with Auckland before they getting into the blues this year. I think what we've seen is that there's tremendous potential there, but there are definitely areas of the game that need improving. And whether or not they were best improved by training with the all blacks or playing with Auckland or I'm not so sure. I would have liked to have seen him playing a lot more than he has
What Is the Current Power Dynamic Between Parents and Schools?
"Is the power relationship right now? After a year and a half of what you and Tina have been doing after people like Lilith, like Tatiana Ibrahim standing up, is it shifting? Because what I see at the school boards, I went to one of the recent ones in Virginia where they said, if a child, even in kindergarten, uses the wrong pronoun for another student, they can be actually suspended. So if Freddy comes in and says today, I'm Julie. If his body Tom calls him Freddy, that kid can get suspended. It seems to me as if these school boards to put it mildly, don't give a damn what the parents want. I think it depends where you are right now in America. And I think it depends about the leadership in your state. You know, I think what you see in Florida is you have a very strong governor who has said a very clear course for what the future of education is going to look like in Florida. I think you have a governor in Virginia, who everyone was very excited about. But I'd be lying if I told you that I'm not concerned about some of the laws and things that are being required that are requiring critical race theory, given a different name, but could a core race there in a lot of this gender theory to be pushed down into schools. And so, you know, I guess my question would be, where is governor youngkin on these issues? And I'm hearing and seeing a lot of unrest amongst Virginia parents who are looking for leadership from this leadership team to be able to help in that area. I don't think teachers are feeling represented by the union. I certainly saw that as a school board member. We would go through bargaining and I would often go back into the classrooms. My kids teachers and I would ask sometimes, you know, aware of what the bargaining with the teachers you knew is bargaining for at the table, oftentimes teachers had no idea.

You're a fleet of foot. When running your top speed is 5 times your normal speed. You must do it. So she's not just running. She's a goddamn train, man. She Barry Allen that shit. Where is the royal? Out of the fucking she is in, okay, let me real quick draw just a floor plan. Okay. This is Lilith's tavern there is. It has a name. I said it. Well, she did. Lilith. Lilith, because I respect you as a creator. It is the hardest and all that. But obviously as a connoisseur of 1918 that is brothels. If only. Ah, I would love that one in 1990s brothel. Is it feminist move? What? You were thrown away. Fuck your way to money. Takes the money of the fucking like. At this moment, I guess I'm gonna put the posts up to. Do you ranch here? Yeah. Yes. Obviously. There is an upstairs as of this moment. Yes, that's where all the bedrooms are. Everyone is downstairs. Only bedrooms are upstairs. Bedrooms in a hospital suite or upstairs. You were about to take Celeste, I would assume upstairs to a room where she could be some modicum of safe. I was going to hide her in the hospital, so just in the hospital suite. Where I do abortion. The brothel. Where I do abortion, so you don't do that, brandy. I do. You do that in bedrooms. No, I do that. You may be as well meaning. There's a hospital suite. There is. I don't want to. It's not much of a hospital suite. It's got a whisky and gauze. Yeah, so how can you do that in a hotel room? I mean, they get pregnant a lot. Uh huh. So you get used to doing it in a hotel rooms. No, because I want to keep their rooms clean so they can keep making money. Okay, regardless. It doesn't matter. Nobody is down there. When bloody rooms, that's a turn off to the men. Didn't want to get rid of a girl that had the fucking contra. I was gonna put her on like, you know. What? What were you gonna put her on brandy? 1591. Administration leave? Bed rest for like a week. That's what they would have done. To get rid of it, it wouldn't have worked, but that's what they thought it would work. Harry? Yes. This right here. I'm gonna say, is the table that you and Jerry Jerry were sitting behind.

"Fodder for critics. And the target of misogynistic jokes that wormed their way into pop culture. Like on Saturday Night Live, which just a few months after the very first little fair concert introduced a humorless feminist character, a parody of a Lilith performer. I really consider myself more of a funny wordsmith focused who came out of the singer songwriter tradition. On top of that, Lil affair was panned as being white women's mommy music. But it was a proven money maker, playing to audiences larger than Lollapalooza and raking in 16 million in its first summer. By the very next year, 1998, Lilith was able to harness that power, expanding the tour to 57 dates with over 100 artists across three stages. "And that's one of the things that makes me nervous about what we're going through now is just hoping it doesn't go in that direction of one historical historically possible scenario. Yeah, well there's what's interesting also about those last two instances with Uranus and Gemini is that during those periods we had presidents who had more who had like 5 times the executive power of a normal president, both Lincoln and FDR were almost to use a Roman parallel. They're much more like a solo. There was the Romans would do a temporary dictator, be like things are so fucked up. You just have one person deal with it for now, and then they will give back those powers. And that's almost exactly what FDR did. We don't call it that in America. But you know, he ruled America within iron fist for 12 years. And so we also tend to get very strong leaders that emerge in the midst of the chaos, whether it was internal with the Civil War with Lincoln or external with FDR. And what's interesting is both of them died when their historical purpose was served. They didn't have retirements way after their whatever they're seeing in history. But yeah, it's interesting. But yeah, if you're having intuitive concerns about someone having a lot of power, that's normal, like for this thing for this Uranus return to the United States. Is there's so far a president with much more power than a standard president. Whether that's formal or otherwise. Yeah. All right, so I think that's it in terms of reviewing previous stuff and now might be a good time to transition into talking about the forecast for July. What do you guys think? Oh, there was one more thing on the overturn of roe, that was astrological. Then I think the listeners will hopefully find as intriguing as I did. So the point at which the moon is at its apogee, meaning as far from the earth as it gets in its monthly cycle is usually referred to as the Lilith point. And referring to this point as Lilith is not is not a new fangled modern interpretation, we actually have Chinese translations of Persian texts from over a thousand years ago that use that use a little bigger to describe this apogee point, right? And so there are a variety. There's a variety of Lilith folklore and mythology, but in virtually all of that Lilith is associated either with taking children or in the Abrahamic version, Lilith refuses to bear children. She doesn't want to be Adam's wife and have a family and all that. So she refuses the garden deal that eve accepts. But so either the, whereas in some of the earlier Mesopotamian stuff, lillet literally is a spirit or a demon that takes children. But regardless, there's a like, no kids for me, quality to Lilith, and so I just happened to notice that in the Ares ingress chart for the United States this year, which is an important chart for judging what's going to happen in a country in a given year, Lilith is right on the ascendant. And then if we look at where the lowest point is now, it's just moved into cancer, which is very interested in pregnancy and reproduction as a sign. And the United States has a bunch of stuff right in the beginning of cancer. There's Venus and Jupiter there. And then the sun and mercury are later on. So we have it in the areas in gross chart. We have really cancer is the most important sign that can get transit in the U.S. chart, the most is invested there. And if we look at right now, we're right at the eve of a new moon in cancer right on top of the lowest point, right? So if the new moon is sort of a monthly refocusing on what are the Americans concerned about, right? It's like right on the lowest point, right? So you've got multiple you get three different chart techniques all pointing to that for the U.S.. Yeah, that's really striking. So I'm trying to think of anything else that needs to be said there. In terms of that, but I mean that's kind of a lot there are astrologically and I know there's a lot of people unpacking it, especially because it just happened a lot of interesting discussions taking place. So I'm sure it's something that we'll return to here in the future. Why don't we transition at this point into talking about the astrology of next month, so I wanted to show the planetary alignments calendar from our print calendar from our wall calendar for this month just to talk about some of the ingresses, the lineations and the stations to kind of provide a backdrop. So on the 5th of July, Mars is going to shift from Aries where it's been transiting for the last month and a half or so and it's going to move into Taurus in the same day mercury is going to move into the sign of cancer and depart from Gemini where it's been hanging out for quite a while due to its retrograde period that took place between the signs of Gemini and Taurus, so the following week we're going to have a full moon in the sign of Capricorn on the 13th. Then a few days later, a sun mercury conjunction or a mercury cosimi is it's called when mercury enters the heart of the sun in its direct phase on the 16th of July, and that's basically the halfway point between retrograde cycles, then the next day Venus is going to ingress into cancer on the 17th. Mercury is going to go into the sign of Leo on the 19th, the sun goes into Leo on the 22nd, and then we have a new moon in Leo on the 28th and the very same day Jupiter stations retrograde in the sign of Aries and then it will eventually retrograde back into Pisces later this year before returning back to Ares I think early next year. So those are some of the major ingresses that are coming up here over the next month. Are there any other major alignments or aspects that I didn't mention that are worth mentioning in the sort of overview section Camille? I guess mercury opposite Pluto. I don't know if you mentioned that just in terms of the hearings continuing and news continuing to come out that shifts our perspective of what's going on. And then later on, send will oppose Pluto as well. And just because we're going through a Pluto return, it might be some notable times during that period. Yeah, that's a really good point. Actually, especially with the January 6th hearings, those are some of the hearings we're talking about. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, for sure. So here, let me animate the chart, show the chart for.

"There are two stories of how God created the man and the woman in the Torah. The first story has her create them equal she makes them out of mud and there they are. And then mysteriously the story starts over in the Torah and it has God creating the man first and then creating the woman out of the man's rib. And this story was made sense of by rabbi as much later by explaining that the first woman God created was a different woman named Lilith and she was quote bad in that she had her own ideas about what she wanted and she didn't listen to the man all the time. So that was one of the few bits of rabbinical commentary that I added to my rendition of the Torah, the other one is something called symptom that's there to explain why God withdraws from the Tara and stops being much of a character in it. So I made Lilith into a character and I made her into I drew her as the devil, which again is just my own inner mythology. I can't believe God is all powerful. I can't believe that the devil is bad. The devil and Judaism is kind of complicated. I'm not sure it really exists. It kind of exists. And so maybe my feelings about the devil are profoundly Jewish. I'm not sure. But I draw her as this kind of live Bugs Bunny character with little horns. And I went back and forth on whether to give her a tail, I ended up not giving her a tail. And she's this gender neutral character who just does her own thing and she's a truth teller. And I relate to her as much as I relate to God. I think God is the child in me who's just very pleased with her own creations and very happy to make things and then the minute other people see her creations realizes that they're just little things made by a little girl. And then the devil is more of an adult or Lilith is more of an adult version of me who notices hypocrisy all around her and is really annoyed by social etiquette that realize on people lying all the time and she's just always out there telling the truth when it's not necessary or wanted. She's also maybe a little bit of like the inner critic or self editor. Telling you what it might hurt to hear or something. Yeah. You divide the book into the past present and future, and as you go along, it gets, I would say that if you're not terribly familiar still with the Old Testament, it can be hard to know what our flights of total fancy and what you're facing more on the actual story. How much do you by the end of the book, how much are you untethered from the source text or do you still feel like there's a through line in your kind.

"Individual. So in the next in the story, it tells us Gilgamesh fashioned his armor of 50 minutes around his chest. 50 minutes weighed as little to him as 50 feathers. He lifted his bronze axe, the axe of the road, weighing 7 talents and 7 minutes to his shoulder. That's a lot of weight, by the way. He entered and on his holy guard, we could make sexual references maybe there. I don't know. Gilgamesh struck The Serpent who would not be charmed. The anzu bird flew with his young to the mountains and Lilith smashed her home and fled to the wild uninhabited places. So you see here, the anzu Verde flew to the mountains and so we're talking about the difference between the civilized and the uncivilized. Clearly because where do they go? They go to the wild places. So we're talking about this difference between the civilized and the wild and the sort of the tamed and the untamed, if you will. Then Gilgamesh loosened the roots of the tree. And the sons of the city, accompanied him, cutting off the branches. From the trunk of the tree, he carved a throne for his holy sister. From the trunk of the tree, Gilgamesh carved to bed for nana. From the roots of a tree, she fashioned a puca for her brother. I think that's some kind of ball. From The Crown of the tree, on a fashion, they meet good for Gilgamesh, the hero of so we can see here that there's an exchange that Gilgamesh comes to help and he helps in on a procure the things that she had wanted from the beginning. It helps. And in return, she carves him something as well. So there's an exchange. There's a and there's a reciprocity that's going on here. And so I think this speaks to that process that I was calling of the sacred marriage that each gets something.

"Scene. We have a snake and on zoo bird and they allude to or a Lilith figure. And so now this is very anybody who was familiar with any kind of shamanic worldview, this is the worldview there are three worlds. There's the upper world and the lower world in the middle world, right? And so the upper world is typically thought of as sort of like this would be analogous to what Plato called the forms or Pythagoras and Pythagorean ideals of the organizing structures that give form to the universe. This is the upper world is sort of associated with those. So the anzu bird would be associated with these kind of things and The Serpent would be associated with desire for sure and also power and the lower world is a source of sort of sonic, so there's wealth and power that comes from the lower rounds, but also it is so there is the. Fiery ability to animate our world to lay claim to the things that we want. And so forth. And then the I would say the lewd two to me, the lelu two represents sovereignty. Actually. Because Lilith was by definition what differentiates her from Ethan's second wife is that she was not willing to be submissive to Adam. So she was set apart. So there's this, there's this. You know, human beings are by definition, you know, communal beings. We evolved to live in tribes and bands and so forth, you know, as apes, you know, we need that security and safety of numbers and so forth. But there's also this. And so there's also this independent streak where we need differentiation that we need, but from point of view of the group, that's a problem. Because if somebody is too individual, they represent a threat to the cohesion of the collective, you see, so it's easy to see why that independence and sovereignty would be it's fine if you're the queen. But if you're not, you know, oh, yeah, you know, now you're you don't play well with others. When in fact, you play well, you play just fine as long as they're not trying to dominate your control.

The only thing that I'll say just because it struck me when you were talking about James Brown is talk about from a generational standpoint. You know, I had my I can't remember if it was like 14. He was young, you know, 13, 14, whatever it was. And he wanted to see Metallica and Limp Bizkit. And in particular, he wanted to see God smack. And I remember we were really, really close to James Brown. We were like right in the front row. And my nephew is going, I fucking hate this guy. Who is this guy? I was like, this guy should die. "But you know it's interesting because the story goes you know that lilith was considered unacceptable. Because she wasn't subservient enough which is just yuck narrative but note fine and it does create this idea that we were meant to be subservient to men. We aren't good enough unless we are subservient but it then basic question. Do they really want that. I mean obviously. The patriarchy has changed in society has changed but it feels like that kind of assumption. Belittles men as much as it does women and very much plays into ideas of toxic masculinity. Well i mean first of all. I do think we need to hashtag. Not all men this. It's just as impossible to talk about men as a monolithic group as it is to talk about women you know. E even all the men within one culture You know cannot be discussed that way so you know yes. Some men absolutely do want that. We've seen what's happening in afghanistan there plenty of men who do absolutely want a totally subservient woman not just subservient but a woman who in some sense just is not a person you know. That's kind of what the stepford wives was about. The you know the internet likes to call it. A bang made men wounding someone who will just do the household labor and perform sexually and require nothing else. And you know. We have seen that as a culturally enforced requirement throughout history and in some cultures. Very much still Do all men want that. No certainly not a and i think the more problematic i mean. It's easy. It is so easy particularly where we sit And within the privilege that we sit in to look at something like afghanistan and say well that is categorically wrong. that's clearly wrong and it's equally easy to you. Know look at men who are comfortable with you know women as equals and and as creatures of agency and and you know their own people doing their own things and say that that's good I actually think that what's in between is where things get very very gnarly because we are in a very odd period of history where we've spent about forty fifty years. You know telling young girls that they can be anything in the world and you don't have to be housewives and you know should own their power and all of these great messages. You know. I i really remember a transition from when people looked at me as a little girl and assume that i would just be a mother and a housewife growing up and and i remember that slowly changing to people. Ask me what. I wanted to do for a job So even within my lifetime you know this has changed But we haven't spent that same forty fifty years telling men anything Anything different than we've always told them so. You know men who have come out on the more progressive side have in many ways bootstrap themselves into that because we are still telling young men and boys that a wife is part of a complete life and that they don't necessarily have to do the same amount of chores as their sisters even in progressive families. I've seen this And that you know there is a certain amount of service and labour owed to them as meant very hard to shed that because we were all raised with the same thing and we're trying to change it but we didn't accompany that opening of the other side of the gender binary two girls by opening the girls side two boys and as someone who's raising a young boy right now A young boy who entirely on his own. It's not me. I hate pink. Loves pink loves you know all this very feminine coated stuff.

That was exactly yeah. I would have been more impressed. Had that killed but anyway then they wouldn't need it for them so they could have a sacrificial doom finger backer official dune thing. They didn't need three of them yet when they came up with the name do finger and blood tide and lilith and they had ran out of ideas. Yeah lilith i mean. They really just didn't keep going did that. Well apparently it was supposed to be like a old sounding name that was mystical and that was wasn't mismatch..
Siona Benjamin's Transcultural Art
"The yona benjamin's art dances with brilliant colors and mythical figures lilith wrapped in a prayer shawl vaujany with angel's wings a blue skinned woman with multiple arms. Held up like minora. Sienna is a transcultural artist. An indian juif from him by now living in the us via israel and her art reflects her identity. Jewish feminist indian american and influenced by the hindu and islamic cultures. She grew up. In siennas installations have covered floors and ceilings and public spaces many of her paintings are multi paneled and she even paints the faces and bodies of dancers artists are philosophers poets in all kinds of artists musicians in every possible medium. And so we do have the luxury of this introspection because without the introspection the creation cannot happen. The forced isolation of the pandemic has given sione a lot more time for introspection. And she says she is valued the chance to focus inward. She joins us for the third in our series on creativity in the global pandemic. I think that what has touched me. The deepest is understanding the meaning of isolation of what it is to be with yourself. I think for the first time. Even though i love being with myself and i love being minute studio but i also like to travel to meet people and i'm a people person actually my alone time in my studio very much to fortunately for me. I think my time has been. I mean i work from home and auto workers continued anyway so i'm very very fortunate but some people who've lost their jobs and some people who don't have else other than going to work coming back it must be very difficult so you know my heart goes out to them. Has that has the content of what of your own work sort of shifted in the past several months eight months. Well in a little bit though. I mean yes. I can see the pandemic. I've done a small series which is a series of just four paintings and it's called the circle of introspection series. And i'm very attracted to mondelez in so the way the coronavirus is shown is kind of like a circle has little spiky things coming out and it's kinda like round and mandala lake that horrific shape of the coronavirus was everywhere on the news and on these kind of looked like a like a planet from outerspace planet with these little spiky little things so i just thought wow. How do i contract that. Negative circle was a positive. Circle are very beautiful colors. These mind and they are flowing and their positive and they've got They're hopeful. I kind of put the figure there in many different ways it has. It's like the circle of introspection series about into action in about looking to what you really want. What do i really want and think the the the word happenings have forced us all to do that. You mentioned your blue figures which is something that you work with in many of your paintings. Can you talk about that. My work is also very theatrical. So i started thinking about creating characters that would i already nostalgic and they talked about my in a unique background of being an indian jew and what my grandmother coq ten dead and stuff like that and what my mother told me. I mean my first few paintings are like i was experimenting with skin color. Like what shade of brown should i paint these characters that are on my stage so to speak. Then i came up with the idea off Off like a light turquoise blue because for me the blue stands for the color of the sky and the ocean. Ice taught that the color of the sky here over america the color of the sky over africa. Our india anywhere else is the same. You can't look at the sky and say that's indians guy. I thought it was just so neutral that thought that i could pin my characters that same turquoise blue and the this way they could belong everywhere and nowhere at the same time. And that's how. I found all the time being jew from india. My family moving to israel now me living in america raising a child over here having had a family here i just felt like what is my home so i did a series of paintings before that many other gokhale finding homes again that same quest for what is what is that home so the blue characters can fit into those series two and slowly grew and therefore the blue skin has become for me a symbol of being the jewish woman of color
