"Peter like cream and butter and stuff like that as well. Fish oil sir And then mock hyman. I share a core about some disturbing research. That's on his blog. That shows that homicide in the united kingdom increased dramatically with increased consumption of linear leg acid rich soybean oil so this is crazy and i totally believe that people are more aggressive angry when they eat really bad shots. Y'all gonna make sense because if you eat these high linoleic acid which has omega six fatty acid now. Mega six is essential fat. However we only need a small amount in our society. People are getting a really high amount and they're getting it through typically processed foods that have soybean oil or corn oil or something like that canola oil in them Or they're getting it. You know from grain fred. A lot of grain fed meets which can also be very high omega six fats too so i wont grass fed meats so we get higher amounts of omega six fats. It turns up inflammation in the body in particular the brain because the brain is mostly fat. And so what we have so much fat. Such a high density of fat in the brain. We have more inflammation in there. Now we're going to be closer to threshold. All the neurons are closer to threshold. So you know some sort of stimulus that you would normally not notice or not react to now that you're closer to threshold. You're it's like you're on pins and needles so that same stimulus pushes you over the edge. And now somebody gets upset or they get depressed. They haven't a more more of an extreme reaction as opposed to just you know something that they would barely observe and And that's what happens in so in our society. Of course you know. You look on social media. People are so highly reactive right. They see a post that you know. there's a word or a sentence that post that they disagree with and they're like freaking out and you know Making a really vulgar You know disrespectful. Post back to one of their friends that they've may have been friends with for a long time and so people are just so so emotional and reactive now and of course anxiety as part of that whole process and inflammation in the brain is really at the root of that so got to keep the inflammation down so healthy fats. Eating the healthy fats. Getting rid of the bad fast. Getting rid of the sugar like you were talking about so critical to create this good balance foundation for healthy brain. Yeah for sure we got to take care of brain sarma much okay. Number three is toxic chemicals hidden as ingredients in food service. Are things like kemp like preservative. Attitudes villas blue on blue. Cheer yellow five yellow six things like that and potassium bromate for example a lotta synthetic homers as well and. I don't think people realize that they're eating synthetic hormones that in that can be found in low quality dairy. That's really messing with people's home arts. And that's another contributed to having anxiety and then also pesticides is another contributor so pesticides and herbicides including glide for state and we've seen a lot about that in the last few years which is awesome and pcb's lamer totten's dioxides which is found in pesticides on crops. So i list a lot of these things. And as a general rule if you look at it gradient label and you're able to go out to your backyard to come and pick that ingredient. Then you know it's probably lab created is probably chemical it's probably not ideal it's probably not good and so we want to stay away from those things and when i was researching this i discovered there. Thirty ingredients not are insurance standard american diet. That people are eating every day. You're actually banned in australia abandoned canada. Uk europe there in the most common roots. Here there in breads conventional breads and hot dogs and deli meats there in inmates as well. They're in dairy there in cereals and unfortunately these are homeless. People are starting day. You know every day and how they're having lunches and they're consuming all of these chemicals in these additives that are actually banned in other countries. So you no wonder they. They're having anxiety and feeling crazy. And you know when people say oh you must be and having zayed and i say no. It's your environment in our in the food. Industry is a big cause for so much mental health issues these days so so listeners really need To hear this these ingredients are banned in other countries but not in the united states. So why is that. Well why is that. Well it comes down to money you know. It's a big money maker. it's really cheap to make these goods and millions and millions and millions of people by these screws especially people who can't afford organic things you know. It's a vicious cycle. They buy these two words and it's deteriorating brain and they're gotten their health and mental health and then they they've in that cycle and that's kind of all that they can afford. It really is a big issue in terms of the food industry. Just ever really strong lobby. That has a lot of power in ended states and they've been able to influence a lot of politicians to help pass bills that allow them to how these ingredients in our foods. And that's the unfortunate thing so you know we can't just count on the government to try to Take care of our health. That's really not what they're therefore we have to be able to make smart educated decisions and forced a lot of people out there doing this research putting this information out people like you. Luckily obviously with your new book helping helping warn us helping. Educate us on these types of ingredients that can trigger anxiety. If we clean up our diet cleanup our lifestyle we can get our brain back. Yes and we can't help but feel better. Of course we're going to feel better and have a better life. We eat really good foods and take care of ourselves and the only way to overcome this with these ingredients. That are in foods. That shouldn't be is to stop buying them sir. Really the power is with the people. But it's going to take each individual to make that choice and say you know what i'm not going to buy this anymore to buy this instead and also when i first started this journey i had no money. I was twenty one years old and i remember going to the store and i had twenty dollars in my bank account. Temps forty and an organic jar of almond butter. Eleven dollars. I was like saying watch by is spent that on it because i was investing in my house. Get my health back. And i just knew if i got my health back and felt better than i could do something really really with my life. I can go after my dreams because my career was suffering as well. I had no energy. I was your yohane. I was up and was down depending on what i was eating. I was tired all the time so we have our health and we have energy we are. We can contribute to the world and who knows what kind of doors are going to open up.

"Natural pleasure and it's also very rich in antioxidants to to help combat oxidative stress. Yes sir there. Regard chocolate is medicine. That's right and number ten. Lastly is jinja. Ginger source are great. Powerful anti-inflammatory i find a lot of my patients to drink ginger either in the morning or at night before bed just to help them to reduce their sugar cravings on all sorta helped draining the lymph fedex system and oftentimes makes people feel a lot tighter and cena going back to the doctrine of signatures. It looks like a strong muscle or digestive systems very good for the digestive system as well and certain ginger is number channel sir. Great on job as well put it. Induces media's yeah you could even take just like a small little chunk of ginger very small because it's very bitter and And pungent by just choose on that before meal actually. Activates your vegas nerve. So the the astringent properties of it and the the really kind of strong bitterness to it. Activates your vegas nerve mcginn. Your vegas means wanderer. It's latin for wanderers cranial nerve. Ten comes down your brain goes to your heart your lungs your digestive system and it's what turns on your production of stomach acid bil- And pancreatic enzymes for many people. There vegas nerve is not functioning well especially in our society. Roy's eating on the go and things like that so we're not producing enough stomach acid. We're not getting good. Bile flow and pancreatic enzyme production. So we then we don't digest our food. Well we get bacterial overgrowth. We have a lot of different problems so chewing on a little bit of ginger before meal can actually help alleviate that issue the right us Digestive juice production so powerful for that. And it's also very anti-inflammatory love that that's great. Hack to chew on before our meal to stimulate the judge s enzymes. it's awesome. Yeah really good stuff. Smells talk about some of the neuro toxic foods that we should be avoiding. Yes sir love diving into this pot of light okay. What are the worst bruise on. Earth toxic foods on the planet surge. You'll probably guesses but number one is refined sugar. Refined sugar is the culprit or majority of health issues that we're seeing today but also mental health issues anxiety depression sir. Refined sugar includes white sugar and includes colon syrup and it's just so far emerged from nature. It's not fruit. Is i believe that. Candy that god gave us to enjoy to have a bit of sweetness in life but refined white sugar From from that natural process and serve the body just doesn't what to do that. The brain breaks out. The number system. Breaks out it's near a talk sic. Its offer for the guts. And i just. I don't think there's a balance when it comes to having white sugar and some Again a lot of you know aggressive people online attacking me for this saying you know. How can you tell people not to have any sugar like well you know. It's the cobra for causing merciful health issues than we don't need it we have. We have maples. We have money. we have dates. We have words. We have stevia. We have monk fruit. And one of my specialties. Within the nutritionist. Is sugar addiction. So i helped people go from being sugar addicts to completely being free of craving refined sugars and there is a bridge to cross and sir. I'm a big advocate for replacement therapy so if anyone's listening in their super addicted to sugar and you know it's really hard to give up then try replacement therapy which is what i did and in the beginning i when i first thought of this. You are mentioned. Wherever qatar's day. I saw the juicing. I also made chocolate bowls with cacao powder almond flour some honey and bit of vanilla extract sometimes almond butter peanut butter in it and i would eat twenty of these a day like twenty chocolate which sounds insane and now i couldn't even try if i tried but back then that was a major upgrade and way healthier than what i was previously eating. I would eat in a day already. Package tim towns. I would eat a whole kabri chocolate. I would eat chocolate biscuits. I would eat like sore much worse. And that had refined white sugar plus learn quality dairy and emulsified select than i saw a healing. My body was eating. Compass amounts of these tropical every day. That had a lot of honey and also back then. My juices needed a lot of fruit because helped me not crave the refined sugar but over time or using years. We crave less and less sugar until we get back to that balance and sir. I have a lot of studies in here as well about in house. Sugar is linked to depression and anxiety. I mean to me it's commonsense and g. You are sure as well. Obviously it's like it's bad for the guts of the brain by you for the people who really want to see the science on sugar. Wyatt's damaging Some people just need kind of like a little wakeup call to to read it. And be like whoa. Okay it's really bad I'm ready to cut it out. Yeah i mean exactly. Sugar is really problematic to the brain so we got to keep our blood sugar. Stable sustainable blood. Sugar is super super critical for the brain. If the brain feels threatened feels like it can't get the sugar that it needs because your brain can either run off sugar or key tones. All the rest of your cells in your body can run off fatty acids. But you can't get fatty acids through the blood ray barrier into the brain so it's dependent upon either sugar or this compound called ketones which is a. What the liver does it takes fatty acids and pretty kito when insulin is very very low. We need low. Insulin and order precedes key towns. That's where people go on a ketogenic diet or they do fasting and they get keystones elevated. But if you're not doing that if you're eating our you know three four or five times a day or whatever it is and you're eating. Her amounts of carbohydrates blood. Sugar starts coming down. Then your brain starts freaking out. Okay because cells start to die. It's not getting the glucose it needs. It needs a continuous supply. Literally have to eat every few hours if you're constantly running on sugar or the brain is not going to get the sugar at needs. Gonna freak out elevates stress hormones and you're going to have amplified levels of emotion right and that can obviously result names -iety heart racing on different types of symptoms and so we've all been there hungry. We felt angry right And so keep your blood. Sugar sables really really key. So reducing the amount of sugar and overall carbohydrates and consuming more fats. Replacing those calories. Fats healthy proteins. That is going to be more blood sugar stabilizing to where your blood sugar's going to stay more stable. You're going to be able to go for five hours but with meals and not have a hypoglycemic reaction and You're going feel a lot more calm a lot more peaceful a lot more at a state of bliss and you're going to be free from constant need to be eating right and that's so important. Yes so important and refined sugars puts us on edge so something stressful happens in day which happens every gave more people than where less likely to be able to have this great stress response to it and just when they're on edge from sugar. That's when we get really emotional and go into those like mood. Swings and heightened anxiety so definitely a good one to focus on cutting out. Yeah right there with you on that yet and some of the others are the second. One is the bad fats. So the bad fats. As i talk about how. There's good fats thoughts and that trans fats sir. A lot of fried foods and fast foods. That are obviously coaching really bad. Fats are really really toxic for the brain. And then i give some options for some really good fats like coconut oil. Avocado not secedes olive oil. Also for.

"Something like that but it helps to predict brain so most my listeners know but like i i really don't i mean calories matter but she gotta to eat excessive calories. It's really all about controlling insulin. It's all about controlling your blood sugar and insulin. When insulin is elevated in your bloodstream it turns on fat storage. It says store fat in it also turns on inflammation in the system. We want foods that are insulin. Friendly which keep our blood sugar in our insulin levels stable and low and healthy. Fats are the best foods for that healthy. Fats and proteins are really good for that while we want to avoid are all the starches and sugars. Right so we're doing a lot of sugar. A of starch were doing multiple times throughout the course of a day. We're going to end up with elevated levels of insulin. We've got to avoid that. So that's really the trigger. So it's not the fat not the calories. It's what stimulating insulin. So if we keep the sugar and the star or at least minimize those than You know we're gonna we're gonna find diet keeps inflammation down and also gonna find times. Were insulin as low. So our body can actually burn fat for fuel. That's awesome are the reason. I asked him when persist my my id tv. Yeah sure you'll love that head. Grapes and number eight is broccoli and broccoli sprouts sir again. The dock leafy greens and broccoli sprouts sort excellent especially for reducing the risk of cancer as well as you know it has the compound sephora fame which all the studies i found in humans and in rodents cancer cells could not survive in the presence of sapporo fame they all died very powerful compound there and so i added some broccoli sprouts to my green juice. Yesterday i have the nominee assault really extracts. So much use out of these broccoli sprouts and the pope comes out dry. Which i love that sarah warning and then i also have broccoli sprouts green powder and then you can also came as well. So that's something that. I do daily to keep my risk of cancer lower since you know. I have that those genes in my family. I think that's really great. I mean sephora fain activates the nrf2 pathway which is a cellular pathway that activates so interrupt to is kind of like the precursor that activates. What's called the antioxidant response. Enzymes and so increases basically are endogenous production of glutathione and other antioxidants that protect the selling. Protect the the the genome ryan. So all of our cells are under oxyde of stress. Just a constant onslaught. This every cell is being hit by ten thousand free radicals every second rights which is constant onslaught of oxidative stress. We've gotta protect the genome in the motto. Contrary those are probably the most Those are the most fragile areas that we really have to protect wanna protect their so membrane all different cellular proteins but really need to protect andrea and the dna. We're not able to protect that. Over time. it can lead to oncogene formation cancer cells. Things like that so doing things are going to help. Support that antioxidant response on that nrf2 pathway super important and so forth and is one of the most critical nutrients to do that. Amd broccoli sprouts are the are the richest source of it. You can do a lot of different types of sprouts. Kale sprouts or good radish sprouts. You know whatever sprouts you can find. "Already so healthy. Anyway yeah me and my kids you know with the basically what we put on their plate and You know you gotta start em young. That's the key is starting young. My kids will eat fruit and sugar. If if it's available that's all they want right so you have to really start them young and you can mix things like you talked about here with That's really creative. If you're making a walnut crust yet to put the to merican there right so you don't even taste it to america really doesn't have a like a strong flavor anyways you know one of my favorite things lion. Yeah unless you put a lot like golden milk actually like coconut milk. Some warmed coconut milk with that american air. And a little bit of stevia. Actually case really good. But you can put to american a lot of different recipes and it's it's actually fairly zita to disguise as far as the flavor. Yeah it really is. I also have golden built recipe in this book as well. i'll cool. Yeah you gotta have your golden milk. Yes that really really great be or anxiety yeah sore commies delicious okay. And then number. Four is wild salmon and other fatty fish so really good healthy healthy fish and this is controversial for the people who believe in plant based or vegan veganism but a lot of older studies that i looked at frank citing depression short people who were vegan. Vegetarians tend to have more anxiety and depression than people who doing culprit. Some animal protein but also studies. Showed that people who eat too much. Fourteen also have a higher risk of anxiety depression so tommy not balanced and for me. What works is being very plot rich plump based in so many plots vegetables having that green drink every day then also incorporating while summit and other fatty fish you know every now and then when when i feel like i need that routine i yeah i think it's so critical to get those long chain omega threes. That you get in your wild caught fish while caught salmon new-look wild caught salmon to you. Think about the nature of the fish. It actually the these fish swim upstream against the rapids and they can jump out twenty feet out of the water so incredible about strength. Incredible might o'connell energy production that that these fish avenue have a new trend called asda zandt then because the red algae that to bioaccumulates in their in their flesh and gives them the pink color and as-as anthony is extremely powerful antioxidant. They have a a ton of different b-vitamins in their the mega three fatty acids to reduce inflammation in the body and they're very might've controversial dense. And so when we eat might oh contra like eating the wild caught fish or when we're eating grass fed meat and things like that. We're getting a lot of these. Rod nutrients stealth form new healthy mitochondria and our body in the brain actually has ten thousand mile contract per cell whereas your muscles only have one thousand so it's it's the most motto contra dance area of our body and really to have good brain function we need to be supporting the might oak andrea so yom a huge fan of wild caught fish. Got so important. Not just for the omega threes. So you can get like a fish oil and just at the concentrated omega threes and oftentimes. That can be really therapeutic like in your case but also actually eating actual flash eating natural meat. I think is so critical. Wow i love at. You're knowledgeable on this subject. Incredible while i'm always trying to biohacking my brain so you know. I want to all the best foods. That's awesome okay. So number five is avocado so again. Good healthy fats and already seen a trend here on this list. That most of these have really good healthy. Fats you know accept the dock. Be greens and broccoli sprouts and broccoli. That's coming up they all. We really need those good healthy fats to help out brain health to make sure eating your protective beards to reducing diety so avocado is excellent and great as a snack Cheesier empty to it at to a salad make chocolate avocado viewers for have a recipe for that in the book as well and also avocado mashed out with some cal. And some honey or stevia makes an excellent prostate as well on cakes. Yeah i love kado. Love avocado and social very rich and potassium magnesium key trace minerals right. So you get that. You've got lou teens zanthoens so long different carotenoids antioxidants in there I eat avocado. Just found every single day so so good awesome. Yeah i would say eat it. Probably every second or third day so good. Gotta get those in your diet. But when i first started you know when i was transitioning from junk-food fostered diet and lifestyle. I ate up to four f qatar's a day which seemed like a lot. But i needed to cross that bridge on i needed to ring myself cravings for fried foods and fats insert those avacado was very fulfilling and that helps me to not crave mcdonald's and kfc in older fried foods yup yup. Y'all economies are so good satiated for your body so many key nutrients really good for the skin to they. Have this kind of sugar The low manuals That actually is really really good for for your college in your skin so Yeah really good stuff that's awesome. That's awesome either. People always ask me. If i have cheek villas norton natural love that it's from the collagen from the wild fish. I have gotten more like full since. I'm doing this more anxiety foods because my own increase my fats in my collagen's awesome so good okay. Number six is olive. Oil and number seven is coconut oil. Love it great. Gotta get those healthy fats in there yet olive oil coconut oil just loaded with healthy fats. Great for the brain. Yeah and olive. Oil is such a great salad dressing as well coconut oil. I add the mcat oil to my smoothies are good. Yup number eight broccoli and broccoli sprouts going back real quick to coconut coconut actually looks like a brain too so if you look at a coconut hard outer kind of skull right you crack it. Open the meat. You've got the meat in there but you also the coconut coconut water. Actually has electrolytes are kind of similar to our cerebrospinal fluid right and then the meat has the medium chain triglycerides. That are really good for helping. Support key tone. Production and key tones are really therapeutic for the brain they down regulate inflammation in the brain. So really really interesting again going back to doctrine of signatures or the law of of of similars in naturopathic medicine coconut. We can look at that and say okay. This is going to be good for the brain. Yeah that's awesome and Failing to go show fresh coconuts and just crocodile urban drink the water and then eat eat the flesh. It's like a full complete meal. It's yeah some people are scared of the calories in connaught end dirk What do you think about that in terms of when people are know freaking out about the calories and things with eating coconut because what i found someone is healing anxiety due to consume an extra amount of fats and calories more than what they would if they were on some fitness plan. "Sure. I love my top ten lists in your book as well which. I have a bunch of your recipes in that love. The top ten foods that i researched for reducing anxiety. You could probably guess the first one and this was evident for for anxiety for mental health for got hells for all of it and it's dark leafy greens number one. Which hopefully people rolling. Their eyes are a now but we all need to be consuming greens every day. I mean there's very small signed people that confrontation greens because of certain issues. Medication meaner thyroid issues. But apart from that we all need to be consuming greens. It's just it's a lifesaver and it actually completely transformed my health in my life to when i first started this journey eleven years ago so dog beefy. Greens like kale spinach. Parsley broccoli. broccoli sprouts collard. Greens chata ruge botchway mustard. Greens delight ingredients. And i was one of those people who thought eating salads and things like this was a waste of time so eleven years ago. My diet junk food diet breakfast lunch and dinner and a you know. A package periods purses foods fos foods. It's only eight. And one. When i when i had my like wake up call when i hit rock. What was my health. I thought how on earth michael to eat healthy foods. Because i don't crave them. I don't like them. And i think they're wasted time. So i basically had to force myself to in the beginning to get in all of these these greens. And the way i did. It was with juicing with having a green juice is because it was liquid. And i knew was the fastest way to get intrusion straight into my body and that's one of the causes of anxiety is nutrition deficiency and sort one of the funniest ways we can get nutrition into ourselves other than an iv injection. The most natural way is juicing. And it doesn't have to have bruce people don't need to freak out about the sugar. It can be completely green vegetables and skirt straight into out cells and we can't help but feel so positive and so much better off drinking and green juice. It just helps break. Its neuro protective. If buys off its only positive neurons and it just makes us feel so good ish. We feel like okay. Yeah taking care of my health. I get a gold star for doing that. I get. I can take that box with the for the day and then for people people could also try to Choosing if they don't want to eat them. But i have a recipe in the book from broccoli Broccoli popcorn sir. It's baked in the oven with some some olive oil and some seesaw and then people can use if they want if they're trying to find an alternative to to cheese and stuff like that is going dairy free and so it comes out sword buttery star delicious and then also green smoothie is another way to get this and and then at the very least and this is what i do. When i'm traveling is i'll take a liquid chlorophyll and just drop that engine and that way. I still make sure. I'm getting that green drink every single day or agrees powder as well and fills really unique because chlorophyll really has the same molecular structure as hemoglobin. Which is what carries oxygen. All the cells of our body. Only different hemoglobin has iron. As the binding mineral that helps bind the different carbons together and corfu has magnesium and most people are magnesium deficient to begin with so magnesium really plays a key role in fact when it comes saying zaidi arguably the most important nutrient and so you get that with the chlorophyll and then you also get you know. Basically the structure that helps really build new healthy blood cells ad and that's so critical because blood cells are constantly under oxidative stress. Want to help rebuild them. Chlorophyll has a lot of cleansing properties oxygenating properties. We want to be able to oxygenated ourselves. Oxygenated our brain so so critical for for energy production. So i think it's a really great hack just get a little bit of liquid chlorophyll put that in in some water and and Be drinking that as well. Yeah yeah and. I mean everyone can do that right and subject is just about to tell. You is awesome graphic online. That showers chlorophyll microscript and blood under a microscope. And i just realized it's yours. I showed all my patients Certified nutritionist than i have a private practice. I was doing practicing at a medical center in new york. But now it's all telemedicine but every single patient on the first session when they come in. I assure them that graphic. And i assure them look he is. What happens when you drink a drink. It's this powerful. It's it's the same as blood. But it's made of magnesium and magnesium deficiency is one of the causes for anxiety and That's what we can get on magnesium from and it's are easy affordable for anyone to drink liquid chlorophyll every day. They're always tell them like fresh waste. Best obviously having like a fresh green juice is the ultimate. But if you're able to do that you know that's not realistic for everyone. A liquid chlorophyll in water every morning takes care of sore much. And when i was healing when i first started this journey when i had the tumor in my lymphocytic system i remembered when i was drinking the juice i i knew that that was how to build new blood cells and that it was kicking out my old blood cells and my old cells cancer cells so the visualization in the i formation is. I had was juice in kansas out. Nobody in albany out so it's really powerful visual and also it is it. It's similar to blood transfusion. it's that how slow that's good. I really like that. So that's so dark green leafy vegetables right and good thing. Is that if you get this book. Liana has a lot of great recipes. So if you're not a big vegetable eater. I'm definitely get the book and check out the recipes because that will really help you start putting those into your diet. So let's talk about some other some other really good foods anti-anxiety foods yes said others on. The list are walnuts search upgrade for the brain and also on. It's actually looked like a brain so when he opened it up. You've got two hemispheres. I mean literally looks exactly like a brain so you know there's this In naturopathic medicine. There's a lot similar. Meaning that is something. Looks like a specific organ. If something in nature looks like a specific organ most likely got nutrients that help support that specific or when with walnuts. You've got b. vitamins. You got short chain omega three fats rights. You've got some different things that really helps support brain. It's soccer for the brain. And i did some research this because where i grew up in outbox. Talia your half. My school was aboriginal in half white and the aboriginal people told us that. If you're wanting to heal a particular organ you looked to nature and you eat something that looks like your gun to replicate it and sir a walnut does look exactly like a brain and this is how they practice medicine before science came into play it was called the doctrine of signatures. Or what you said and sorry doctrine of signatures was saying like yeah for looks like a brain helps the brain and now we signs to say yes actually walnuts dude how the brain snacking walnuts is great and then also. I have some recipes in here for chocolate brownies. May real could cow and walnuts and then will not crusted salmon as well which gives it a delicious pottery. Crunchy crossed officer delicious and number. Three is chew merick so great anti-inflammatory great for the brain and that's actually in the will not crust to cross the summon or chicken and just went up some walnuts which emrick in a little bit of see soul and comes out looking golden. Kids love as well. It looks like the traditional chicken nuggets goodbye to convert kids. I'm sure your kids are.

"Transformation can learn more about it and of course you can pick the book up on amazon. You're gonna love it. Thanks so much guys well. Hey guys welcome. Back to the podcast. Today we're gonna talk about anxiety free with food. And we have the author of this great new book liana werner gray. She's a good friend of mine. She's written the earth diet cancer-free with food and now her new release anxiety free with fooding zaidi's such a big issue. There's so many people that are dealing with at especially with everything that's been going on in the world today and definitely a key link between gut health in the foods that were eating and how our brain is handling stress how reactive we are The way that we are processing the things are in our world and sewing. Zayed's is not something that is You know it's not a. It's not an end destination there. There's a lot of hope for a lot of things we can do for it and really starts with our nutrition lifestyle choices that were making so liana. Welcome to the podcast. Thank you so much. Thanks for having me on wolf for sure and again. This is such an important topic. And you know you're a young woman and so anxiety. Obviously all all all genders all demographics steel with anxiety but especially women and would love to hear your story. Yeah so anxiety. Apparently this year the stats have gone up to one in. Three people are really struggling with anxiety versus one in five last year in two thousand and nineteen. Now it's already into two one now. Yes so it's anxieties to skyrocketed and it does affect everyone end a small amount of anxiety to as a stress response is considered healthy. So if something happens to us and we naturally feel that stress. It's the mind in the body's way of saying okay need to have a resolution for this but anxiety that is happening for hours or days days. That is a severe anxiety that we need to be suffering worth of struggling with end. What i discovered was that there are actually some really simple and quick effective ways to clear out anxiety and he'll it especially with focusing on nutrition. Sir i was experiencing heightened amount of anxiety and i was curious as to where it was coming from because i have a lot of faith believe in god and goddess like dart have anxiety costs. All your kids on me. And i was constantly doing that so i was like. I don't think it's coming from from a spiritual reason. And i thought i don't think it's coming from a mental or emotional reason either and i thought this might be purely chemical and it could be a chemistry balanced my brain and so i went and got a blood tests. Done and sure enough isn't in one of the main things that if we're deficient in that we will have anxiety. According to science so short enough. I was deficient in her mega. Three fatty acids and my started taking fish oil supplements Wild fish and then eating more cheese hemp seeds and a matter of days. I could feel the difference. My brain felt more if that's visual. Nfl less scotteri. My nervous system felt more common for chris. I didn't feel more tired. I felt more alert and energize and it was incredible feeling and i thought wow if this is if it's as simple as this and a lotta people are also chemically imbalanced with their physical buddy than i wanna share this answer. I really went down the rabbit hall set of researching putting this book together and found out a lot of other nutritional reasons for the causes of anxiety and then do a lotta research. What foods can help clear out. And then what food. You're actually proven genetic that actually causes anxiety as soon as we put them into a mouse. Yeah it's a really good. Really good intro to this topic. And so we know that fish oil. Epa ya the long chain omega threes really play important role in the brain and also play important role in our inflammatory process. And so you know where people have been told when they have mood disorders that these things are chemical imbalances but the chemical imbalance is really downstream. It's you know it's not. The root cause cause oftentimes has to do with nutrient deficiencies and chronic inflammation. In the brain. We have inflammation in the brain. Were going to be more. Reactive are neurons can be closer to thresholds. they're going to be Firing off from stimuli. That probably probably shouldn't be firing off from right. Which makes them more reactive. And you know makes you have a lot more. Cha challenges just trying to control your emotions and so glad that you're able to figure that out and make a threes are really critical at this. So let's talk about the relationship between the gut and what's happening in the gut and what's happening in the brain. Yeah we'll i know you're a gun expert and i love the work that you do on this and serve all of the studies on anxiety pointed to the gut brain connection and how connected they are and that we have certain gut microbiome fascinating studies. That i found was that people with anxiety have a difference dot microbiome than people who dart have severe anxiety. That was fascinating to me. So then that tells us that we can change our gut microbiome and that will therefore change the anxiety that we experience and then we can also work on the the brain pot a bit and the part of it will reduce that. That's also going to change our gut microbiome so they work hand in hand with each other and so in my book. It's full of recipes and foods that really helped cultivate are very a very healthy gut. Microbiome and healthy gut environment and helped clear out d talks. I'm a huge advocate for detoxing especially people are just new to getting into this then. A detox is totally critical to clean out. That you know the dirty water so to speak dirty water we can fill it out with the clean water so doing a detox to clear out the gut and then start rebuilding it with all the good stuff and that helps out brain sorry much. Their source are connected that gut brain connection. Yeah so key. So yeah the brain. Actually there's a nerve called vegas nerve that travels from the brain down into the gut interns on stomach. Acid production bile. It's our key para sympathetic nervous system. And there's constant communication between the brain and the gut through that nerve then on top of that we've got all these different bacteria more bacteria in our gut than we have. Sales body in those bacteria are actually producing different nutrients right and so they are eating toxins. Good wash say healthy. Bacteria microbiome eats toxins and produces b vitamins and short chain fatty acids and minerals and all those things sport our brain whereas bad bacteria or bad microbiome despotic or abnormal balance of bacteria they end up eating nutrients so the nutrients we need. They eat them and then they secrete toxins and those toxins get up and trigger inflammation in the brain and that is a major factor when it comes anxiety all different types of mood disorders so really really key that we nourish you know. Obviously like you said we go to detox. Gotta get rid of the bad stuff and we've got to really cultivate. Nurture good microbes in our guts so critical. And so what are some of the best foods. You've got a whole list like top ten best anxiety free foods. So let's talk about those..

"And they they trigger anxiety right away because they upset the nervous system and the very worst thing we can eat for anxiety is refined white sugar or cone syrup so refined sugars. the worst and also white flour like excess white flour that turns to sugar in the body so that triggers and also genetically modified organisms trigger anxiety. Theory is only so many preservatives. Chemicals additives at the body can handle before it starts to really upset the nervous system so all those foods are anxiety producing and should definitely be avoided especially someone is experiencing anxiety accents and recommend people combine changing their eating with other things in order to reducing zayed's or will the food do it just by itself. Yeah i do talk a lot about that. In the book or healing anxiety can done with all types of measures such as positive thing. It could be emotional healing and spiritual healing or spiritual awakening. Well but it can also be done with. Food and fruit is a very powerful medicine Just encourage everyone to us. Our intuition of like okay. Where's this diety coming from. Because for me it was purely physical. I quickly was able to fix out within a few days by balancing out the amiga's but for some people the anxiety could be deeply rooted in childhood trauma. Stuff like that. There's a lot more into it. But louis has some amazing affirmations or anxiety and actually put some in my arm into the book as well and serve some of the affirmations off that really help and it's great because when we think it does put different energy in our body and louisa way said that My she said my happy thoughts helped. Create my healthy buddy. Love that searcher Affirmations i put in are all is well with my soul. I breathe in piece. I breathe attention when i eat certain foods. I am aware of their power to immediately my nervous system and this makes me feel very in control. That's right yeah. I think it's a good idea to come combined the two things the hell help help people out. You know you're you're you're making your body and your mind better the help it get rid of it for a lot of people for yeah then. It's like a full healing as well and nothing's left out and one thing. I found fascinating about doing the research for this book. Was that a lot of studies have shown that food is actually way more effective in reducing anxiety and improving mental health than is medication because medications for anxiety have a lot of side effects on a lot of whereas foods as healthy foods. Dark give negative side effects. I mean unless you're allergic or something like that or going through detox but foods have been proven to be way more effective in reducing unhealing anxiety accents and i know as part of the book you also like have a seven day planned like just that you give people in order if you want to jump start at. You gonna take them step by step. What the do for seven days. Yes exactly so. I wanna people just got to read the book and quickly scouted to jump in and to experience the brain chemistry changing within seven days. Just like what happened with me and so. The recipes are all in their very simple recipes. My whole message especially with the earth diet. My first book is going back to nature going back to simplicity eating a lotta whole foods and healing the body with food in that way and the seven day plan. I definitely recommend to anyone who's experiencing a lot of anxiety and it'll be an experiment and see how you feel each day and see how you feel after the seven days sons and as have you worked with other people with some of these. Have you tested it out on anyone but yourself i have. Yes so. I got some friends together when i was putting together and we did the seven day. Anxiety-free plan together and they loved it and it was a lot of very clean eating and eating a lot. More healthy fats. As well and not the anyone gained weight they just felt like the brain was more nourished. And i think that people who are eating a lot of cobb's and a lot of refined sugars. These days the brain just feels scattered and all over the place in the nervous system has anxiety so everyone reported that they felt more calm. They felt more focused. They felt more solid. Energy was some of the feedback and yes. I'm excited for everyone to try that for seven days. Good and i know in the book you you go through everything you go through the research you've done and then you have a whole bunch of recipes like how do you. How do you put all your recipes together. Well that's always fun. I for me. I have hundreds and hundreds of recipes over the last eleven years now during this work sir. The recipes came from a place of. Okay what do people want to eat with. They have anxiety and a lot of it is comfort. Food made healthy. So i have things in there that like chocolate cheesecake ice cream some pasta dishes very comforting foods that we usually guard to if we feel stress but using whole ingredients for example one of the recipes in there. The chocolate sunbutter brownies. I haven't there is made with real cacao powder and some tiger flower people can also use almond flour as well with the sweeten. It could be honey. I'm able syrup. And then i add some versus sunflower seed butter to that bit of sea soul some vanilla and some gems to it. So now you have this chocolate chip brownie or you can make chocolate bowls and this. These are so delicious. Nourishing are healthy and you can legit these every day. Because they're basically medicine that's good. I know that when you use the visit here at. Hey how's yours would bring food for years and years. I'm happy to see liana when she walked dog like they would follow her to the kitchen to see what she made because recipes are she always would bring some fun treat like that that everyone was afraid to eat but then she said no. Don't worry about it. it's all good for you. So she got famous for real good tasting healthy desserts on your the queen of desserts. Yeah i would say. I do specialize in sweets because that was my sweet tooth. That's what got me into trouble in the first place when i was very addicted to sweets and junk foods but i was eating the wrong type of it so then when i healed the chiuri my lymphatic system. I just switched to whole foods. Sweets like using honeymoon coconut sugar and sorry to replace every craving. I had and i had a of sweet cravings all day every day. I just came up with these recipes. And so that's why i have so many healthy dessert recipes to this day roads. Not only it helps with anxiety but it can help change your diet and other ways like you'll have a lot of benefits for the anxiety that these foods help but also if you're eating traditional sweets and carbs and all that it's going to help you. I think this will accidentally help you lose weight to it does. Yeah and i. I thought it out to actually heal my body and to dissolve. The tumor assert weight. Loss was a bonus for me. I did lose quite a lot of weight even from eating twenty chocolate goals day because that was a major upgrade is what i call it from eating the conventional chocolate that i was previously. Eating people always love that they either. He'll cancer anxiety mental health or psoriasis. Whatever it is and then they lose weight its barness.

Are latest book is called anxiety free with food before that she had cancer free with food. So she's getting rid of all your problems with food. How you doing liana. i'm good. thanks read. Yeah that's true. I love that getting rid of public with food exactly in more ways than one right because you had the earth diet before that you are helping people eat more naturally and you had you know your own problems that brought you to all of this Your own issues with cancer and you discovered out how food was a big part in your healing and then you've been working with a bunch of people since then and helping them heal their allies with food basically. Yeah exactly read. There's my story exactly exactly and so as we move from cancer. Free food free with food. Ang's using food to help with anxiety. Is i think more. It's a newer concept. Like i've heard a lot about what you eat and how it's important for your health for your physical health. But i haven't heard as much about helping with your mental health which anxiety would be toward. So can you give us a little background on how you came up with this idea for sure. Yes our food and the connection to mental health always been a passion of mine and especially since covance dotted anxiety started plaguing millions of more people around the world so along with depression it affects at least fifty five million people in the united states learn these stats which is still high school it will. This is a great time for me to start putting this passionate to work and write about the foods that have been proven to reduce anxiety. And i wanted to research all the top foods on earth. That are helpful to reduce the anxiety that have been studied and tested have had trials that was super fascinating during quarantine. That's what i did. I decided resort chain and it's amazing. Read because this sore much evidence out there that shows that food is sore powerful in helping on mental health and it can immediately reduce anxiety or can immediately trigger anxiety and sword. That's what i play into the book. I think you're getting a lot of chances to see if it works right now. So many people like you said. I have anxiety. So what are some of the foods you think you have ten foods that help reduce anxiety. What are the yes. The top ten foods to reduce anxiety and this is based on the ones that have been studied the most have been most effective so first one is dot leafy greens sir such as kale and spinach and parsley and this is mostly because of the chlorophyll content in these dark leafy greens and that helps to put oxygen into the body so diseases anxiety. Any nervous system issues like that. The hates oxygen oxygen really helps with that sudoku degrees took first place runs. Yeah so people could use that. You can put it in a smoothie. It doesn't have to be this long hot process of getting these dark leafy greens in every day it can be as simple as taking some chlorophyll drums and dropping into water and they have are serving of dark leafy greens and a dose of chlorophyll. Let's hear some more of them. Okay so number. Two is walnut because of their really good fat and also will not look like little brains and the doctrine of signatures all the digits. People believe to eat foods that look like Organs and sort walnuts normally look like brian so they have a lot of research and science behind how they help with brain health with cognitive function with focus and reducing anxiety. Bring number three is true. Merak Schumer is a great anti inflammatory end when people are experiencing anxiety for hours at a time or even days at a time. The body is under a lot of stress and so a lot of inflammation is happening. So tumor helps to go in and reduce inflammation and has also a lot of antioxidants. That's number three number. Four is wild salmon or other fatty fish. And that's because they maga's in the fish and also disclaimer. You know some people are vegans. That don't wanna do fish. Some people might be allergic to walnuts. Even their you know number two producing anxiety pick from this list from what resonates with you. So number five is avocado so again really. Good healthy fats. Number six is olive oil and really good healthy fats. The to number seven is coconut. Oil again really healthy fats. Where seeing a trend here with your magazine. How we need a mega to help out. Brain number eight is broccoli and broccoli sprouts so again those dock leafy greens green vegetables number nine. Which i'm probably most excited about is cal. So that's like real chocolate in its purest form and number ten is jinja usually helps with your stomach and the right. How does that help with anxiety does it helps with nausea to reduce cotton nerves so it helps with the nervous system a lot and also there's a lot of antioxidants it's also anti inflammatory. Look at the list that helps with anxiety and the list that helps with cancer. They seem pretty similar. Yeah pretty similar. In terms of these foods are really high in magnesium anti-oxidants a lot of vitamins nutrients especially the dock leafy greens with chlorophyll but in this list with the anxiety. Compared to the canceled is definitely more healthy fats. On this list because one thing that i learned with join this research that people who are deficient in our magazine and you can get a simple blood test to find out. If you are deficient omegas will most likely experience anxiety. And so when i was experiencing anxiety i went and got a blood test on a sure enough. I was deficient in her mega. So i just started taking supplements for that and boosting my omega my good healthy fats. And it changed my brain chemistry within a few days. It was remarkable. That's great so what foods should we avoid help. I'm sure of foods can help with anxiety. Foods can probably cause anxiety they certainly can said there. There is something coating diety producing foods..

"And and they're actually banned in Australia, Canada UK and Europe but the aiding them every single day here in the United States, and this is causing a lot of mental health problems so. It will be helpful for all of us to eat from nature as much as possible. That's Great I. Love that I didn't think of that before talking to you, but avoid the foods. The avoid is almost as important as the ones day. Yes definitely if we can focus on cutting those fruits out adding more of the fruits to eat, and that will heal our body, and what I love about this is that people who have suffered with things adding to pressure even for ten or twenty years. There's a lot of heart because chances are, you might be chemically. And I loved that a blood test can reveal that if you a lacking certain vitamins and minerals, it could be a simple fixed and I also realize anxiety and depression healing not can also be mental and spiritual and emotional, but having a strong immune system in having strong healthy body will help inhale. There's other aspects. Of all things together your mind body spirit together. All will help with that for sure. Yes scenarios much heart exactly so thank you for all this Leon. Is there any final things you want to leave us with? I just want to mention one study that I came across. That might help people suffering with gut issues, and that was the study revealed that people who have anxiety do in fact, have a different gut microbiome arm, so if that's the case eating this way will help heal your gut, which in this such a strong connection between the in the brain, and so that's another way that anxiety can be healed, and a lot of people feel crazy that they have anxiety you know. Why do I have this swire suffering so much, and it could just be you know needs to heal the gut and get those nutrients into. You'll start to feel better almost immediately. For sure like. Having that microbiome helps you absorb the right, even if you eat right if you don't absorb it, it doesn't help you, so that definitely will help their. Yes, yes, exactly! Right well, thank you so much. Liana great having you on, and it will definitely have you back when the book comes out, so take care..

"We have blueberries, and then we have Broccoli, and also to cow powder, so cal powder is proven functional food, and of course all the chocolate lovers out. There would be happy to hear this that it. It doesn't fact help reduce champions in the gut and brain, and it can be a good prevention as well sir. If you'd love chocolate, darn back, eating at just make sure you're eating the real raw form of Cacao powder. You can make your own. Her may chocolate at harm, and I've so many chocolate recipes in all of my books for that reason. That's probably from those old loving sweets days when you're younger. Yes and that tells able to break that addiction with something that I've now found is cold replacement therapy so every time I had a craving for cookies, cheesecake or chocolate I would just make my own harm, and that's why I have so. Many of those dessert recipes my books. On every time she comes to the House Office, she always brings or makes desserts for everybody everyone loves. On its face when she walks through the door, there's no one here now and office, so they wouldn't be here to get it, but when they're all here. They love to see you and all your little treats. Gao. That's awesome. Yeah, I hope that I can come back again. Maybe the end of the Sierra next year after carve is settled down. For sure, so let's talk. Why don't you explain a little bit of how you started thinking about anxiety with food and what you've learned about I-, anxiety and food, and then and then kind of what we can do that. Eating wise that helps reduce our anxiety. Yes Sir anxiety something that Moore's people do have an it can be natural and normal to get anxiety for public speaking or for a test or for social situations, but anxiety has become an epidemic in that a lot of people are suffering with it all day every day, and when anxiety stops us from being able to do our normal things, that's when it becomes a problem, and so I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and severe depression from a psychiatrist and. I was offered medication. And I'm not against medication, but for me just didn't feel right and I thought well. Let me I see if I can heal this with food, and so I went, and got a blood test on, and I wanted to find out if I was lacking any nutrients and sure enough I was lacking in mega three fatty acids, which now learned is if we're lacking in certain nutrients, we will, in fact suffer with anxiety and depression. It's a chemical reaction that happens with the brain, and so I thought. Wow, OH, my gosh! I'm just chemically off and so I started to supplement with fish oils and. And then I started to incorporate more good fats with Avocados, Chia seeds hemp seed and wild fish and sure enough that made me feel better. Almost immediately. My brain felt more whole. It didn't feel as scattered an anxious, and it felt more focused and felt my mood lift as well and so I became fascinated with this subject, and of course, a lot of people with cancer also have anxiety and sir, then I started doing more research, and I'm so excited to be working on anxiety-free with food. In fact I'm handing it in on Monday so I'm almost done among the home stretch of of writing the book and Sir. It's been as ING process, and I've just come across so many fascinating studies of how mental health is really connected with food. Roulette. Share some of them with people. Share. From writing it. Yes so the top street I found four reducing stress anxiety in the body number one is doc leafy Greens and I know that might sound boring to people like off more degrees, but it's really true because they're really high in magnesium, and that's another nutrient deficient in will experiencing. Sir We wanna be getting more magnesium. If you're experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety, so dock fee Greens Kale Spinach Broccoli so you can eat it I also to juice it or put it in a smoothie, and then I also have a green powder that I mixed with one every day, and that's just an easy way to get those Greens in without a. A lot of effort, and then the second anti-anxiety featured on came across, was walnuts and walnuts, because they have all those good fats, and they even look like little brains, and so that is interesting. That's called the doctrine of signatures and the indigenous people believe that if we're having issues with the sun organ, we should look to nature to find a food that. That looks like that all again, and it's interesting, because walnuts, a look like brains and they've been proven to help the brain so much, so walnuts are legit brain food, and then also on the top anxiety list is as well as an anti inflammatories are a lot of people suffering with things. ID will have an inflamed body so wanNA focus on A. A lot of anti inflammatory foods and foods with a lot of antioxidants, because anti-oxidants will help to reduce inflammation kill that oxidative stress so also wild fish is very good versus farmed fish, and then avocado, olive oil coconut oil again. Cow Powder search chocolate is proven to help with anxiety and then Jinja tea also Janati is great to drink at nighttime before. To help reduce inflammation also suppresses sugar cravings, and then citrus lemon and orange can also help with anxiety and I also darb into the research to see which foods have been proven to cause anxiety, and that's interesting read, because as soon as we eat certain foods, they are nearer toxic, and they can trigger anxiety immediately and triggered the stress responses in the body. A witch wounds. Should we avoid? Yes so the wants to avoid are the first ones probably not that obvious, but it's refined sugar. Sir, it's white sugar, brown sugar sucrose, Corn Syrup the body just does not know how to Digest. It doesn't know what to do with it and sir. It instantly causes anxiety answer for people who are Dick Sugar I was just think about natural showbiz. You can have honey, maple, syrup, coconut, sugar, dates, and fruits, so enjoy those ones instead, and then the others are the odd official chemical ingredients that are added to foods sore. These things like aspartame in gum and SORTA and a lot of chemicals and. That are hidden in all. You can read the food labels and I recommend everyone reading ingredient labels because you can see everything that's in it, but we did. You know that there are some foods that will some ingredients that are actually banned in other countries, but the in the most common foods here in the United States up. did know that because we do books with Vanni Hari and she explains that to us. Yes, that's awesome. Vanni is amazing. Her work is so important, and it's important for people to know that because these are things like I mean things. We can't even really pronounced. DP A and B hate, Shea and be an ADC and coloring agents like blue, one and blue to yellow five, and these are in foods like breads and hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches. It's in sports drinks. It's in white bread mayonnaise frozen meals. Soup mixes so these things are people are eating every day,.

"Grey and Leon has written three books for. Hey, how's she started with the Earth Diet? Then she did ten minute recipes and her latest book is called cancer-free with food, which was a big bestselling book helping lots of people understand the importance of food and then her next book which is. is in coming out for a few months early December the beginning of twenty, twenty one and up to twenty. It's called anxiety free with food, but we're GONNA. Get a Liana to share a little of the information in there with a sense, so many of us could use a little help with anxiety, and it's kind of a unique concept. Think food could help with anxiety, so how you doing Liana. Read a good. Thank you so much for having me on and so you. You said you're down in Florida right now. You you live in new. York as well so so Howard things ben going with you. Yeah, we'll new. Yorkers, really intense as you know, got hit the worst with code. And so I left a few weeks ago just to be somewhere bit healthier and out of all of the congestion. I suppose in New York, but it's. It's really good down here. It's very sunny and vitamin D. also helps to lower their stress levels and exiled Lemelson well. I was just talking with Chris. Work, you know. And he was, he was saying the importance of vitamin D both for cancer and for the corona virus, so he was giving everyone details on how important all that was. I know really well all about that right now. That's awesome. So why don't we start off just telling a little bit about how you got into learning about the importance of food to help with cancer and help with anxiety? Yes, sure so I was once never interested in featured and I was in entertainment when I was in my early twenties, and I was very addicted to refined sugars and phospholipids foods, and that was my diet, so I would wake up and I would eat gummy bears or pancakes and I would eat McDonald's every day, and I would eat KFC and just all any type of junk food. You name it and I became very addicted to those foods and. And my health started to take a turn, and so I tried to give up eating those foods, and that's when I learned. How addicted I was and I kept telling myself starting tomorrow I'll start again tomorrow. And that Tamari you know never came until after five years of doing that ended up with a three point, seven centimeters trauma in my lymphocytic system in my throat and sorry, that's when I thought Oh. Wow, okay. I really have to change my diet now and Sir because of my upbringing, my father was a chef when my mom also raised us very healthy, and I grew up with the aboriginal people in outback. They told me that the healthiest way to eat was to go out to or backyard and eat foods. It comes straight from the earth, because those will provide us with the most nutrients, but only nutrients that would provide us with spirit with this energy, this lifeforce, or it's like eating a pot of God, and so I knew all of that, so I saw or Kanye to go back to my roots, and actually he'll this and he'll this addiction and so. So that's when I started to really research and get interested in foods juicing and that's when I was able to heal my body with food and nutrition, and have been sore passionate about it ever since and now it's going on eleven years since I've been cancer, free and Truman free and have healed the addiction just so passionate about sharing the power of foods with other people and seeing people heal that buddies in health issues with food is just sorrow boarding. And you work now with patients like cancer, patients and people like that like coaching them about nutrition, right? That's the cancer-free with food. Idea came up. Yes, sir, I've been studying nutrition at to be certified. nutritionist and I work at a medical health center, doing court chain and I work with all types of patients. Some have cancer. Others have other health issues, and what's interesting is that whatever health issues someone is struggling with? It can be addressed with nutrition and nutrition should be part of everyone's healing. It should just be one component of it. And even helps you so you don't have to go through healing, because if you eat well then the odds of you becoming sick or much less than that true. That is true. Yes, sir. Somebody heals than it's just about maintaining health for the rest of their life, and if we eat the right things and maintain a health, we reduce risk of getting anything from cancer to depression to digestive issues, and we can maintain ourselves in a really healthy state, so that's the goal so as you're working with the people and. Books and those kind of things like what do you find? What kind of foods are the best help help with cancer or disease fighting of any kind? Yes sir, in canceled with food I actually list the top ten anti-cancer foods from all the research I did I wanted to put together the list of foods that have been not only just proven to help heal cancer, but kill cancer cells, and that have been studied for many decades and Sir the number one that I found sort interesting is Broccoli sprouts, which I actually never knew much about it I didn't use Broccoli sprouts for my healing, because I did not know about them but Broccoli, sprouts when it. It starts like if you're Broccoli, which anyone can sprout at harm? It's actually really easy to sprout, and you can choose peters how to do it if you grow Broccoli on the third day, they little sprouts, and that's when the most potent with Sephora. Thing, which is the compound that is found in Broccoli Tulsa Founding Kale and cauliflower, but it's source strong in these little Broccoli sprouts, and all the studies they've done with humans, and with animals have shown that when Kansas in the presence of Sephora Fain. Every single cancer cell dies every trim reduces sir, cancer does not have a chance of grow Wayne when it's in presence of Sephora feigns so that if someone doesn't have cancer, someone even wants to prevent cancer or other disease I recommend. Stop Incorporating Broccoli sprouts into diet so now. I Have Broccoli sprouts as a Regula I. Get it once a week. I have the my put on my salads I think of what care sprinkle Broccoli sprouts on our sprinkling. Broccoli sprouts in my life ever since that's great. Where do you get Broccoli sprouts I've never even heard of Broccoli sprouts Hook. Yeah. That's what I thought, too, but then I went to whole foods in my local health food store and sure enough. They were right there with all the other vegetables. They're usually next to the herbs. The fresh herbs like Cilantro possibly in the stole so a lot of food stores do have them. Yeah, because I love Broccoli, but I that I I eat lots of Broccoli, but I, have never even thought of the Broccoli sprouts. Something new today. That's awesome. That is awesome and of course Broccoli is good as well and dark leafy Greens in general are the best that I found across the board to beat majority diseases, including cancer and including anxiety and depression. So so water you give us like the top five for the cancer foods, and then we'll move on things. Okay, for sure so the top five for cancer Broccoli sprouts his number, one and number two is true Merrick Sir Sir Sir good for anti inflammatory than.

"Welcome back, quick, brain. This is all about. How do you make quick brain friendly recipe's, because you are what you eat and what you, we've matters especially for your gray matter. And we are here with a dear friend. And I'm excited to have leanna. We had a Warner great, thank you so much for being here, the three time author or new book cancer-free with food, her other books. We have earth diet. And also ten minute recipes and ten minutes is really pretty much up my alley. Because this is the quick brain podcast, right, bite-size brain hacks, and foods that give you maximum return on your investment of time. And so is it possible to make food recipes that are both nutritious and delicious? And that's why I'm here, and that's my we're in the quick brain kitchen. And so we're gonna make recipe we're gonna show people. How I'm all about simple easy fund, effective, maximum return of joy of time and energy. And I just wanted to talk about your story and why you wrote this book in your journey that documents going through cancer and coming on the other side and the role diet played I'm tiniest cancer-free this year. So extrordinary I was just at the end of twenty one. When I ended up in hospital, I had a biopsy. Dan? I had a golf ball sized Chima in my lymph system. It was early stages of Kansas. So I was lucky for that reason, but my diet was horrendous, I would go for breakfast. I would eat pizza for lunch. I would eat McDonald's for dinner. I would eat KFC like whatever craving, I had I for filled it. I didn't hold back. I was like, I'm craving cookies cookies, and I didn't just eight one or two, I ate like a whole lot of it. And it became this vicious cycle. Because my buddy got so you said this dead motto that was providing it would. No nutritional value, and it was just like it was hungry all the time, even though it was aiding so much food is my buddy wasn't getting any nutrients that was starving for real food. So I did that for five years before ended up in hospital. And I just had a gut feeling literally. Yeah. That my diet was, what caused this major blockage this cancer, this Chuma in my lymph system, which is the buddy surge system. And then, of course, if that's blocked a causes gut issues, brain fog, leaky, gut all kinds of health issues in our programs. We always talk about our brains being this incredible supercomputer, and we can teach software like, how to read faster, how to remember people's names, how to learn a language, but if they're hardware, their biology is off tilt you're not going to get the same results. So when we talk about ten keys round lock when we call your brain, the number one thing we start with his good brain diet. And that's what we're talking about here. And so let's make something while we're talking. Yeah. Awesome. So this is the recipe that I use when I was healing. And also this helped me to not crave the bad types of chocolate brownies, the chocolate brownies that had white flour, and sugar and dairy. And soy, let us than and non-organic eggs. That's just a recipe for dessert. Sta right. It's like a brain bomb, an atomic bomb of the brain. So this is a healthy version of a chocolate, brownie that is sore delicious and nutrient rich, and it's a legit. Quick brain recipe guys and retitled the recipe because of Jim quick. And we know this ingredient chocolate tell us about chocolate in the brain because this is probably the best news for everyone watching that love is great news. Ca cow, actually, functional food and it can be eaten every single day as part of a very healthy diet. Isn't that awesome incredible? But it's not just any chocolate though. It has to be pure cacao powder. So Cal the comes from other Peru, and it just comes straight from the cacao pod in little cow beans. And then it sun dried and ground up into a cow powder. So this is the first ingredient in the trunk of Brown news. We're not talking about milk chocolate, that's fell owned convenience stores, by the register right? Obviously go out and eat conventional milk. Chocolate seven eleven that is not the kind of healthy Chuck token about in. In fact, that chocolate will help destroy your health like it did mine. So this is a chocolate recipe, that's actually healthy and tastes good. At the same time, nutritious, and delicious qualities of chocolate make it good for your mind. So cow powder, actually helps release blood flow to the brain, which is awesome. Which is why most people when they have a chocolate craving, they get really excited. Right. And then when they eat chocolate, it's like, whoa, it's like a potty food. It's like a party in your brain. And what's good for your mood tends to be good for your mind also as well? Yes. And there's actually some great studies on this to that short. How good it really is for women, especially because of all that magnesium. So it relaxes our buddy but at the same time excites body, and our brain. And so, oftentimes I live in New York City as well. If I have a deadline that's ju- I need to work until midnight. Okay. I'm gonna eat some real chocolate was going to get me through to mid I'm excited and happy. And I'm good to work. Good to keep going. Whereas if we try and suppress that, like, oh, chocolate is bad, and I shouldn't have chocolate then it's like oh, it's like straightaway depression, and like now I'm tired. I'm going to go to bed early. So this can help keep us going. And I've got some great studies that you guys will appreciate them shore put in our show, notes links to all those studies also as well while your book has amazing recipes. I mean how many recipes are in the book, one hundred ninety five recipes in the book and twenty six of those pages are, and arts in the book for those of you who do like science, and we. Search, but the recipes recipes that I used to help heal and also help me to get off the junk food, addiction and addiction to sugar and author. There are some new recipes that are very can't focus. So from all the research, I did I wanted to find out the top anti-cancer foods that exists on earth. So I put those together in a lot of new recipes as well. And then I have some other contributors like Chris cars. Well got a recipe in there from Dr Oz. And also some Kansas survivors, that when they were going through Kamer some of the recipes that they use to help protect their brain. So there's a recipe in that code the chemo brain BUSTER, smoothie, so that helped protect her brain when she was going through chemo brain BUSTER smoothie, that's big what I love about this. Again is like everything that we teach is high return on those bible theme, which is your time and rather than eating out in restaurants all the time. And we like to do that every so often he never control. Actually what's going on? You don't know what's going on back there. Exactly. Yeah. You don't know if they're adding sugar, and I mean, people. Sure to everything that's the quickest way to make a recipe taste. Good is like olas throwing some wet schlage. And so what are we making today? Okay, are here regard. This is the quick chocolate brownie quick. Chocolate brownie. The brownie is like little brain bites. Yeah. Do little brave. I loved that because that's what it is. We're talking about whether it's the information or the inspiration or the recipes here, there, bite-size, digestible easily to digest. Yeah. That's perfect, then give out a smell how rich and amazing does that cow powder. Smell. Okay. So it's going to add some cow powder to the bowl, now the exact measurements, of course in the book that we good. So what's the second ingredient? So we need a base. So I'm using tiger nut flour the timing flaws root vegetable, it's my choice of flour people could also use almond. Flour or coconut flour, and it's basically just don't want to eat, white flour.
