My husband and I were among those who were believing lies from the result of the twisting of scripture and the emotional and mental and spiritual manipulation from leaders and ministry whom we trusted. Although God began removing the scales from our eyes about 5 years ago, the road has been humbling. And difficult among many other things. The wounds of deception can run deep and can take time to heal. Renewing our minds with God's word has been quite the healing experience although painful at times to be sure, and we're so thankful for ministries who not only preach truth and exegete scripture so beautifully. They expose the lives of false teachers that seem to be all around us today. This shouldn't catch us by surprise because both Jesus and the apostle Paul gave us proper warning that this would happen. You can read about it in Matthew 24 one through 5 and second Timothy four three. The Bible speaks extensively about what we are to do when we see a false teacher, twisting scripture. We are to warn others about their dangerous teaching, so more people do not fall prey to their lies and become entangled in deception. It's easy to become offended and angry at false teachers, seeing them just as wolves and sheep's clothing who deceive others and twist truth. But we must remember that if we begin to expose these teachers without love as our foundation and our ultimate motivation, our efforts are fleshly and lack the compassion of the savior. It must be out of love.

Have your friends become distant or negative in every single one of those areas in every single situation that you're walking through our bible verse tells us to not grow weary. We're not to give up. We are to face each new day with the promise that in due time will reap good if we keep on doing good to everyone who got his place in your path. How does doing good look in your daily life. Maybe simply interjecting positive remark when everyone else is critical. Maybe it's keeping your mouth shut when you'd rather lash out. Maybe it's walking away from gossip. Maybe it's sitting next to the person that everyone else ignores. Maybe doing good as a meal. A card phone call even when you don't feel like it maybe doing good is encouraging someone. Maybe doing good is just praying for that person. Maybe doing good is putting what you want aside to spend a few moments giving someone else your attention with the lord's help we can have all the strength. We need to just keep on doing good to everyone into not grow weary or give up since christ is living in us. We can know that no situation is beyond his power even out of his plan. He will work in us through us and for us in every situation that we face today if we do not give up. Let's pray dear. "A prayer to stop spiralling thoughts by lucia headley read by liam martin we demolish arguments in every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of god and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to christ. Second corinthians ten five. Have you ever thought about something small. And then that thought spirals into the worst case scenario and before you know it you've created an entire story in your mind that's completely false from the reality you're in my certainly have noticed a trend that often thoughts take me captive rather than me taking them captive and the next thing. I know i'm on a wild ride of spiraling thoughts from there. Those thoughts turn into action. A thought out of fear for example could spiral into a belief that your situation is way worse than it is leading you to decide to act based on a fear that came from a simple thought and thoughts. My friends are not real. A thought isn't tangible yet. We can turn it into an actual reality by our actions if we allow our thoughts to spiral. So how do we stop the thought before it spirals into action in today's verse. Paul knew that the corinthians could easily be led away from the truth of the gospel just like we can be easily led astray by one thought ourselves. He encouraged them to pull down those thoughts that have been established in their minds. Anything other than truth by making every thought obedient to christ to take every thought captive. We must first be aware of our thoughts. The enemy is loving the culture. Were in today. Because we live in. A world full of distractions. We're thoughts are thrown at us at every. Turn without us even recognizing it we must wake up and look around and pay attention to the thoughts we allow in our minds. We must guard and shut the gates to our mind. Kick out the thoughts. That don't belong there. If you feeling anxious ask yourself with the thought behind. That feeling is in. Kick it out if you're feeling overwhelmed. Insecure sad angry or afraid. Take the time to figure out the thought. That's behind the reason you're feeling this way and take that thought and make it obedient to christ surrender to him releasing it into his hands. This is something we as believers can practice daily. Hourly sometimes minute by minute but remember. We have the power to demolish. These thoughts will allies from the enemy. So stand up and be victorious kicking any thoughts out that are not from the lord and begin to be the one that takes over spiralling thoughts before they take over you. That's pray dear. God thank you lord that you didn't leave us empty-handed to roam the earth aimlessly. Thank you for your word that you left with us. I grabbed a cup of coffee and settled into my favorite chair to start my morning prayer. Time i thumbed through the pages of my prayer journal. Where i record needs to bring. Before the lord. In prayer keeping a journal helps me stay focused as i pray only today. Something remarkable happened while pausing to reflect on each page. I noticed prayer after prayer that i'd recorded in past months in realized that god had answered many of those prayers. I suddenly felt an indescribable. Fullness of god's love my heart swelled and gratitude overcame me tears poured out and i couldn't contain them. I knew then that this must have been how david felt when he spoke the words of psalm. Twenty three five. My cup overflows. Because in that moment i felt god refilling my spirit we can go through. Our daily routine feeling spiritually depleted. Sometimes our cup is empty and we don't even know it because we've been going through the motions for so long thankfully. Throughout god's word we see evidence of his outpouring of love for empty spirits. Today's verse from occasions is part of a prayer by the apostle paul for the church at pieces. He prayed for the people to have strength from the holy spirit. Jesus living in their hearts. And the fullness of god's love paul also wrote about god's fulfilling love in romans five fifteen and hope does not put us to shame because god's love has been poured into our hearts through the holy spirit. Who's been given to us when we feel empty. Nothing fills us. Like god's love by taking time in my morning routine to reflect on god's goodness in my life. I sensed his presence overcome my emptiness. "Psalm. One twenty-one prayer by tiffany to bolt read by liam martin. I lift my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from. My help comes from the lord who made heaven and earth psalm. One twenty-one one through to i lived in a house for ten years that had a large window facing east directly in my view centered in that window was very tall hill every day. I was blessed to be able to look out that window and remind myself of psalm. One twenty-one lift my eyes up to the hills. where does my help come from. During the busy season of raising my daughters to the brink of their teenage years i needed that reminder often it was during those years that we faced a host of struggles common to many one year in particular though was almost more than we could handle. During that year we dealt with the loss of a child our dog a friend and a family member all within four months then thrown on top of that. We received the diagnosis of an illness. That would take all of our strength to overcome. There's no life on this earth that escapes trouble moments of despair seasons of illness relationship struggles unexpected bills and job losses. We can do what we can to prepare to even limit them. But there's no secret to preventing or stopping trouble from coming into our lives however the truth in psalm. One twenty-one is that we do have someone who can help us get through the tough times. We simply must look up in jerusalem. The place of worship was up on the hill. The writer of this verse was reminding himself and telling us that god is always there looking up to the hill is a visual reminder. A deliberate action of faith that allows us to believe and to tell us that. God waits for us to worship him to speak with him to cling to him as i look up to the hill each morning as i open the shutters. I reminded myself that. My help comes from the lured. This is true in my life as well as yours. We like to use the phrase. Things are looking up. Well of course they are not only did god create both heaven and earth but he cares about every situation that happens in your life as you intentionally look up to the lord and seek him for the help and strength to get through each day he will move he will act any will help you to overcome every single difficulty. You're facing in your life today. Let's pray thank you lord that you're good. Thank you for the truth of this. Bible verse that my help comes from you. Thank you father that you're always there. "Liam martin fear. Not for i am with you. Be not dismayed for. I am your god i will strengthen you i will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah forty one ten. The unknown business season that any of us enjoy. It causes us to look deep inside ourselves and examine our faith. We wrestle with questions that look a lot like these. Do i really trust what god is doing. Do i really trust that. He knows how to handle this. I believe these are natural things to ask when we're suddenly in the fire here. We suddenly see we have little to no control over. What's ahead of us if you're like me you've asked these questions. Not because you doubt who got is because your heart is so heavy from. What's taking place. The question i typically ask is do. I really trust what god is doing. I know god is good. But i know god's version of good and my version of good can look drastically different which will turn toward. God's goodness remind as my husband. And i have been journeying through an issue with eye health. I've had to continue refocusing on. Jesus i have to remember that. God is good and i can trust what he's doing while we're in limbo of things being either completely fine or something serious. Your season of unknown may not be a medical diagnosis. But i'm certain whatever it is it's been one that's left you questioning god. I'm sure you've also had to refocus your heart and mind the truth. That god is good. One of my friends shared isaiah. Forty one ten with me while we've been in this season of the unknown. She prompted me to place. My husband's name in the place of your in the scripture. This was powerful. It was in this conversation that i was reminded why we must pray. God's word back to him while there isn't much clarity in the season of the unknown. I believe when we begin to cry out to god through his word. We begin to get heavenly clarity in our hearts and that clarity results in his piece. Peace and unknowns don't seem like they should go together but what if these two things are exactly what god uses so we can sense his presence in a supernatural way. Only he can turn unknowns into holy ground. And i've watched him turn this season to holy ground for us. It's caused me to pray aloud over my husband more than ever before. We've reached out for prayer to our whole church community in a way we've not done before we've called friends to pray in very specific ways and we've seen god moving detailed ways ways that without this circumstance we never would have seen or experienced. God desires the same thing for you. He wants to take the unknowns in your life and turn them into holy ground he wants to turn them into seasons where you learn more about him and his deep love for you..

When you are tempted he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. First corinthians ten thirteen it was two. Am and there. I was scrolling instagram mindlessly. Once again and getting sucked into the black hole of the pages of influencers advertising product after product sale. After-sale deal after deal. It was getting so out of hand. That i was finding myself clicking. Add to carton hiding the packages for my husband and the boxes showed up on her doorstep. A few days later. I knew it was wrong but it felt like the temptation was too strong to stop this familiar cycle of impulsive. Buying but this was ally. No temptation is too strong for us to overcome. It's important to remember that we don't base truth on our feelings. We must look to what. God's word says to renew our minds with his truth and gain wisdom on making healthy and righteous choices when it comes to self control and overcoming any temptation we face we can find truth in first. Corinthians the apostle paul states no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind and god is faithful. He will not let you be tempted. Beyond what you can bear but when you are tempted he'll also provide a way out so that you can endure it first. Corinthians ten thirteen. God is faithful to help us walk in righteousness. He gives us the grace to walk in freedom from the alluring and enticing nature of our sinful habits if we allow our flesh to rule us will follow it into a pit of unrighteousness. There is forgiveness for us in christ but we must repent when we find ourselves continuing on a path of unrighteous choices. We may feel like the temptation is just too much to bear. But god always provides a way of escape. We must ask the lord to give us wisdom and spiritual eyes to see the way out for me personally. The wisdom was to on follow. So that the temptation of what they were sharing was no longer before my eyes continually the holy spirit is faithful to continue to give us wisdom and guidance and strengthen us when we submit our ways to him he will convict. Our hearts remind us of what the bible says and cultivate the fruit that we've received especially the fruit of self control as believers. We've received the fruit of the spirit. And just like fruit in the natural world it must be cultivated. The longer we walk with the lord and study his word. The more fruit is developed and strengthened within so may we continually ask for god's help when we're tempted and trust that he will help us overcome sin when we're struggling. Let's pray father. God this life on earth comes with many trials and many temptations. We're not promised to life free from limitations but we are promised that you will always give us the strength in grace to overcome these temptations as well as a way of escape to make godly choices in obedience to you. I'm not able to walk in obedience without your spirit. Thank you holy spirit for convicting my heart. When i'm walking in disobedience in giving into what satisfies my flesh. I long to be obedient to you. Lord help me. Cultivate the fruit of the spirit especially the fruit of self control. You are god of self control. And i long to look like you in everything i say and do in. Jesus name amen..

"By liam martin teach us to number our days that we may gain heart of wisdom psalm. Ninety twelve today. I watched a pair of barn. Swallows toil away at building a nest. Along the edge of the front porch. Your efforts proved fruitless. A few seasons ago we had at a row of screen on the ledge to prevent the mud based nests. These active birds would build each year. This pair would not be deterred as evidenced by the row of mud globs from one end to the other. They tried one spot then. When that didn't work they moved to the next on and on until the sunset late in the evening i watched in wondered if they'd wear themselves out at the end of the day the result was lots of work in no rest to show for it. I'm a lot like those barn. Swallows wired for work. I rush rush rush to get the job. Done all the while not realizing. I'm relying on my own efforts. I love how the living bible translation expresses psalm. Ninety twelve teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are helpless to spend them as we should when we remember each day is a gift we can release are striving and rely on god for the results. God is the essence of all. That is good learning to trust in him rather than our own abilities will bring peace. I can get caught up in the toiling and not realize i've taken matters into my own hands. Gaining a heart of wisdom means taking moments to notice the goodness of god that follows all days as it says in psalm. Twenty three six knowing how to spend each one enjoying time in his presence so instead of being like those little birds. Let's take a break from the toiling. Let's release our reliance on only our own efforts remembering to thank the one who is in control of all things. Let's pray dear heavenly father. Thank you for reminding me through your word that each day is a gift. I gain wisdom. When i release control of my day to you and trust your guidance in how i spend my time lord i want to do good works for you but sometimes i get caught up in being busy and forget that psalm. One thirty nine ten says you are the one who holds me in your hand. Forgive me for wearing myself out with continued toiling and relying on my own efforts to get results rather than trusting. You helped me gain a heart of wisdom by relying on you more. Your word says and james for fourteen it. We are a missed but appears for a little while but you are eternal. Whatever the day brings. A messenger of satan to torment me three times. I pleaded with lord to take it away from me but he said to me my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness therefore i will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses. So that christ's power may rest on me. Second corinthians twelve seven through ten a thorn is defined as a source of discomfort an annoyance or difficulty in irritation her obstacle. You know how. God knows just what you need and loves to arrange an opportunity to put you in your place and ultimately teach you. Living for him is all about well. As soon as i found out that the name of my little one soccer team was the thorns. I knew it was no coincidence. And that he was up to something. My littlest has challenged me in ways. I couldn't have imagined she's pushed me and stretched me as a mama and the truth is the lord knew. I needed her to see how much i needed him. There might have been a few times her behavior as a toddler. Felt like a thorn in my side. So i must admit that the team name made me giggle and recently as i cheered her on and yelled go thorns. It hit me how i heard. That sounds thorns are not things we would normally cheer for. There aren't something we want to have in our lives but just like paul. We all need them. And second corinthians twelve seven through ten shows us why so to keep me from becoming proud. I was given a thorn in my flesh. A messenger from satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud three different times. I beg the lord to take it away each time. He said mike grace's all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now i'm glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of christ can work through me. That's why i take pleasure in my weaknesses in insults hardships persecutions and troubles that i suffer for christ for when i am weak then i am strong. Hard things aren't fun but when we're week when we're less than those are the moments when he can shine when we realize his strength is all we have and all we need without those hard things. Those irritations obstacles and difficulties. We think we can make it on our own and make ourselves greater than the one who holds the world and our worlds in the palm of his hand. My little is a gift. Just like my other babies when she was a toddler having a tantrum in the middle of winn-dixie. I have to admit that. I wasn't thinking go thorns however looking back. The lord has grown my faith because of those moments second corinthians four eighteen says so we don't look at the troubles we can see now rather we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen for the things we see now will soon be gone but the things we cannot see will last forever with that perspective in mind when focused on eternity and not the world. We can see right here. We might need to yell. Go thorns next time. A hard thing comes because those are the moments that bring us closer to jesus and that's worth celebrating my sweet friends. Let's pray dear. Jesus thank you for all the ways. You're working in my life even through the hard things. I continue to praise him for his great sovereignty knowing that he was faithful to hear my cries of please father and save my son in his providence. He prepared me for an extremely anxious situation. The gratitude that my heartfelt these last six months as i reflect on those extremely intense moments after birth and the moments of seeing my little man with all the tubes and wires on his tiny body. I was in the midst of an intense season of spiritual battle. Nighttime was especially hard for me even harder on the nights. My husband was traveling for work but one particular night. I realized i had to hand my battle over to the lord. I reached out to my bible study teacher and asked her. there was a place in scripture. She'd recommend i go. She pointed my heart to psalm. Ninety one she told me to not only read it but to pray and study that promises that god had woven all throughout this portion of god's word became a safe haven for my heart and it still is what i love. And what you'll read. If you study is that this psalm. has i will. Or he will promises from the lord all throughout. here's just a few for. He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. He will call on me and i will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him an honor him. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings. You will find refuge. It's laced with the promises we find in the lord when we make him are dwelling place our refuge and as we trust him to be our protector. It's places like this in scripture where the lord has spelled out for us what we mean to him and all that he desires for us as a good father. The perfect father though hardships attacks and pain happen to us. In this life we see confirmation here through psalm. Ninety one when it says hold fast to the lord in love he will deliver us. He will protect us because we know his name. When we call to him he will answer us. He will be with us in trouble. He will rescue us. Satisfy us and show us his salvation. Isn't that amazing. He will show us his salvation. We get to see his salvation poured out by his grace and mercy over our lives and the eternal security that awaits us. What a comfort. This is psalm. Ninety one isn't the only place we see these types of promises but all throughout his word he continues to clarify desires and promises to our heart he reveals to us. What peace joy. Goodness and sanctification look through a life tethered to him. He teaches us what it means to trust in him. He teaches us. That is believers. we don't need to live in fear of what lies ahead or be overcome when the enemy attacks instead we get to take refuge in our all knowing always pursuing heavenly father. Pray with me. Lord is the waves of fear. Come i pray you would stir up in me a heart that desires to run to you. I pray for an unwavering. In prayer the bible verse continues by telling us the secret to not being anxious to take our requests to god in prayer and supplication supplication. Actually means to beg on your behalf or for someone else so often. Our prayers are ones of gently asking god for help. Guidance provision healing. This verse tells us though that we can beg the very creator of the universe to work in our situations we can pray and we can plead with the lord for every single one of our anxiety causing problems. Thanksgiving overwhelms me. As i realized that i do have help. There is someone that i can turn to. There is someone who i can beg for help in every single situation. He's always been there. He's just waiting for me to need him. Turn to the lord with prayer and supplication let thankfulness flood. Your heart and mind pushing away those anxious thoughts as you keep your eyes on him through everything. He may not remove the problem as you want. He may need you to learn something as you walk through these situations someday. This storm will pass. But now you're spiritually ready for the next one filled with thanksgiving. Because you've learned how to keep throwing your problems at the feet of jesus begging him to take it and to deal with it. The more you handed over to him the more your heart and mind will relax. I learned two things about myself in this very long week. I have not overcome my desire for control. And i saw once again. How important our prayer warriors are two weeks before this. I had spoken to a friend sharing with her. That i really felt like i'd overcome this area of struggle in my life. I believed i fully handed my desire to control over to the lord clearly and obviously i couldn't see what was coming. This news made me drop to my knees. I had not fully overcome this struggle for control and the lord houston to draw me nearer to himself over the next few days i reached to other believers to pray for me. I couldn't and shouldn't carry the weight of what i was feeling on my own through my heart's cry of reaching out. I found myself feeling overwhelmed at the magnitude of knowing so many believers were lifting up my name to the lord almighty. They sent scripture checked in throughout the week to see how i was and continued to let me know they were praying very specifically over my body averse. I often pray over myself. I'm not sure what you're season looks like. But i do know that we serve a god. Who calls us to dwell in him and abide in his ways through these hard seasons. Whether they're a week long or years long were called to bring everything. Isaiah fifty five eight through nine is their dream in your heart. That you feel is being delayed if you look hard enough you may see another blessing in disguise. Some dreams of mine include being a wife and mother. I'm single but i'm grateful to god that he's been able to fulfil the emotional longings. I have in unexpected ways. I understand the heart numbing. Pain of a dream that hasn't come into fruition. It's hard to consider weight or no to be loving isn't it. We can often feel neglected. Lonely heartbroken tired or hopeless in this society of social media overload. There's things that can pop up on. A news feed that can cut deeper than any sharp edged sword. Seeing someone receive a blessing that you have cried about worked for prayed for and dreamed of while you're still in the waiting room is ridiculously hard. We're called to be joyful with our brothers and sisters in christ. rejoice with those who rejoice many times also comes through one. We talk about street. Famous in god in rightly so but being honest. I always come back to this next thought. If my dream does not come true. If i never receive what i've knocked on heaven's door for year after year does that mean god is not. I hope you know what the answer is. But just in case. Let me remind you and myself of this single truth. God is faithful to us at all times whether our dreams come true or not his faithfulness to me is saving me from an eternity apart from him. When i look back at things. I've gone through. I also see a bigger picture of his faithfulness in his guiding hand in my life. He is faithful to complete his work in us but not to complete our dream to do list so be confident of this that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of christ. Jesus philippians one. Six god is still good. God is still omnipresent. God is still faithful to us. Because he is god. And i am not a may you be comforted by the assurance that staying rooted in the lord is the most assured way to live a full joyful and dream come true kind of life jeremiah. Seventeen seventy eight tells us but blessed is the one who trust in the lord whose confidence is in him they will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It is not fear when he comes its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. The only way we can have a content heart and joyful life is letting him love us pursue us and fill the heart naming. We have with his grace. That doesn't always make it easy to let go over dream or to let it sit still for a season and i know god recognizes that. Don't forget that we are what he dreams and desires and he loves a so much his will and dreams for us are more than we can even imagine. And that's more than okay. Let's pray. God thank you that your will and your plan is always perfect. It might not be easy or always feel good. But i know you see the big picture and know what's best for me. You are always good. You are always faithful. You always have steadfast love for your children. these are truth. That will never be untrue. So help me live in the light of those truth today. Help me have peace as i meditate on what. It means that you are always good faithful and full of steadfast love for me. Help me face today with confidence knowing that your plan is greater than all of my dreams. Lord i love you. Thank you for the life. I haven't you in. jesus name. Amen
