Incredible Love & Support for Life at Carolina Pregnancy Center
"This wonderful note from Alexia, we're so appreciative to you you should your help and mister Hudson's is just invaluable to us. On Monday we served a 108 families giving away diapers, formula, baby wipes. Your support keeps us on the radar of so many more people. People have even had diapers mailed to us because they heard about you, us through you, your show, and Joey, have a great day, Alexia. Well, Lexi, you made my day. And I'm happy to defend life and support these entities, these organizations who are doing so much good for people. Because there is so much evil out there. And it's evil, heck, how much more evil does it get than you refuse under oath at a congressional hearing to admit that you don't, you're not against infanticide. This is

"I was, you know, I mean, she's zero and four and playoffs in her career on the LPGA. I mean, you know, you look at some of the things she's done. I mean, you go to the par 5, just off the green and two on a par 5. If she gets it up and down for birdie, she probably wins. And she's just currently not capable of doing it. And I'm just a little nervous that it might just not be in her. I mean, it's going to be a total overhaul in my opinion of everything you're doing. I mean, it's going to be a long putter like Langer does. It's going to be changing the routine. It's going to be kind of constant movement like Brad faxon talks about. There's so many things that could happen for Lexi that could potentially change it and it feels like it's all kind of the same. Let's put the VHS in and see if it's still runs, right? Let's see if the tape isn't messed up again. And the tape always skips. You know, it always skips on the back 9. And I felt like it was going to happen. It happened, it was not surprising, and I was really kind of hoping that we finally get Alexei major to talk about. I want someone to do a deep dive. Like, we need like a psychiatrist from Stanford to do a case study on her. Right. Like, it would be like an 8 part Netflix series where we're just kind of understanding here's where she started here is our theory as to why this is how it keeps happening. And that would make me happy. I wanted to take a quick second and let you know about something we're going to introduce in the podcast every week. It's best in craft brought to you by wheatley vodka. Where I pick out somebody that maybe one over the weekend or maybe didn't win, but had a great week and that's kind of where I'm going this week, a lot to pick from, but my best in craft brought to you by wheatley vodka is men G Lee. And I know she didn't win on Sunday at congressional. She gave it a great run. But let me just read you minji Lee's last 5 finishes in major championships, okay?

"And you think about some of those great moments to hit earlier this year in Phoenix. I mean, one of the great moments of the year when you're when you're honest and defeat and every time and I mean, I know this is the team. I mean, I heard from people that were at the event that the agent wasn't even there and it was her dad that was like, you know, avoiding media for Lexi, but at one point you have to face the music and answer some of these questions. And I just feel like Lexi makes questionable decisions a lot kind of outside of the golf course and it's always been the case. And so as a golf media person, I want Lexi to compete and win because it's good for our job, but at times it almost feels like this might be better for our job because you're getting to watch this. I don't even want to call it a train wreck because it's almost slower than that. You know, it's just, it's a miss here. You know, it wasn't just the miss short putt for par, right? I think that was on what 14. It was the, you know, she had two great birdie putts, where the lead gets extended. You know, she has these short birdie putts. Right as she makes the turn. And they're not close to going in. They're not really hitting the hole. And that's when I was wondering, okay, what's going to happen next time we see a 5 footer and then of course we saw the short stroke that didn't touch the hole. Claire, if you, we talk about we could do that, right? Golf fans always say I could do that. I could hit that shot. I mean, they can't lay shot yesterday. Oh, I do that all the time. I was wondering about this. If you had to pull a hundred golf fans like legitimate golf fans of all different handicaps. Okay. And you said, you have a 5 footer for your life.

"Because let's look at Rory and how Twitter just explodes. And I will say, you still see a handful of, you know. For sure. But we also see a lot of jokes about avro's expense. We don't really see them at dollar horses expense. I don't think maybe because he's newer on the scene and he hasn't won a major yet. But yeah, 'cause Rory is kind of become like a bit at this point. Like I said, oh, I thought my 7th grade crush was my biggest heartbreak, but it's actually Rory McIlroy. I would never make a dig like that at Lexi's home. What do you think? Well, okay, so I ran into this last year, Claire. You know, doing golf today and you're doing kind of a daily show on golf channel. And Damon and I were really committed to making sure that when we had conversations about golf from the clouds, if you will. So kind of overall conversations about the sport, you know, Damon and I were very committed to making sure that the LPGA got as much talk as the PGA Tour did. And we brought on a lot of guests to talk about this. I mean, bethann came on a million times last year to discuss the LPGA tour. And this was something we were really committed to because Damon and I are both people that love the LPGA tour. And we find it intriguing and incredible. The one thing I ran into, though, a few months into it was I really felt like I was a lot softer on the LPGA tour players than I am on the PGA Tour players. And I'm not sure if that's simply gender if that's because of the exposure. If that's because the PGA Tour players don't really need us to talk about them and I'm not gonna say the LPG tour players do need us, but media helps, you know, a tour that players aren't getting millions and millions of millions of dollars each and every week where they play. And so I really committed last year to making sure that I was critical of the LPGA tour and the players when I needed to be because gender equality. Exactly. I wanted to make sure it was fair. It needed to be fair, right? And for Lexi, it is, it is one of the most fascinating sports stories going that probably isn't getting enough credit. I saw no laying up, brought up chuck knob block. I was thinking about Nick Anderson. I mean, well, before your time, Claire, but the 95 NBA Finals and game one Nick Anderson missed four free throws late in the game. He said it changed his entire career. I mean, this was like an incredible shooter and just simply choked. And I need to give credit to who brought this. Let me see, I wrote, I don't think I wrote his name down. I think it's Mathis or Matthias at Jason Mathis live. Said during the round watching Lexi putt that it must have felt like what Laker fans used to feel when they watch Shaq shoot free throws. And I was actually thinking about Shaq as a Lexi comp because Claire, when Lexi swings it and hits it, it is otherworldly. I mean, I've told this story multiple times. She was on the range. This was probably a decade ago. I mean, she was early into her career and I was caddying for my friend Irene in Arkansas. And Lexi was on the other side of the range, hitting three irons, sky high draw three irons, and I could not take my eyes off it because I'd never seen it before on the women's side of things. She was doing stuff that had not been done before.

"And the only person who's going to do that for you is you, right? And someone's not going to come in and say, okay, I mean, maybe, but now it's time to exercise or now it's time to do your meditation. You have to make the commitment for that. And that's something that I know I'm certainly very committed to. And Lexi's grown up with that. I mean, since she was four and she was on my back, not being hiked through the hills of the Bay Area. So in rollerblading and pushing the stroller. So it's sort of just been ingrained in her and since she was little. Yeah, I think we're definitely on that same way. We have talking about making a healthy diet a lifestyle is the same way that I think about exercise and movement. I think it's like we live a very active lifestyle. I mean, my mom bikes back and forth to work every single day. And I get movement in every single day as well. And I think that is like huge game changer for overall health and I feel like those three pillars are kind of like, they all need, you need to have little touch points on all of those three pillars because I think even if you were, you know, if you had the best most quote unquote perfect diet in the world and you were having no gluten, no sugar, no alcohol, nothing. But you're sitting at home all day in your sweatpants and not moving your body and not lifting weights or not building that muscle mass. You're just as unhealthy as if you were eating stickers all day, you know? So I think those three pillars are just like, you need to have touch points on all of those. And there's no point in being perfect in one of those areas..

"Let's call it 1213 years ago when we thought that whole grain goldfish were good for you and weakness, right? And we thought we were doing something good. And didn't realize that there was blue and red dye and those cute little goldfish, right? And the things that we just weren't as educated. And understand how processed our foods were. And so as we started to remove the things that we thought were healthy, unless he was able to come off of medications. And within weeks, you know, and I realized if we removed the inflammatory triggers, like she didn't need the medication. So, you know, there's a long story, but leading to really the why behind both beaming our last brand that we created together and now chroma. It's always really been around. How do we empower people with their health? And just feeling like there's so much misinformation out there. And going through our own experience and just the transformation of my family had less you specifically, my husband at the time and I and I felt like I had now I had a responsibility to share this information in a way that was really going to make impact and the best way that I knew how to do it was to give people experiences. You know, I could write books or write a blog or something, but the way you really learn is experiencing the power of it. So that was how beaming started. It worked. It was changing lives. People were feeling the difference. They loved it. It tasted good. We really up leveled the experience of healthy grab and go. And making it appeal to a bigger audience. And then from there, we really wanted to go much bigger. How do we reach people everywhere? Not just where there's a beaming cafe that reach people in any part of the country at any point in time. And that was really the birth of chroma. And when did you start chroma? We launched chroma 5 months ago, almost 6 months ago. So still very, very new. At the end of July, 2021. And we started working on it in 2018. I exited beaming in 2017. So quickly sort of transitioned into the creation of beaming and chroma, which is really evolved over time. And we went back to sort of the thesis that made me so successful, which was to give people that experience, which in our case is the 5 day reset. That gives the quick results feel good, fast, put good food in your body for a 5 days. And then really set you up for long-term success and change habits and behavior. I think it's so funny that you mentioned the goldfish because we talk about this all the time. I was thinking about the other day how we literally thought Nutella was healthy because it was like hazelnuts. It was like, you know, we're getting some good healthy fats in our diet absolutely not just full of sugar and basically just chocolate spread. But yeah, I always think about those little snacks and stuff like that where I was like, oh yeah, this is healthy because it's brown red instead of white bread, even though it's like sliced bread in a package. And I think a lot of that has just come through my own interests in the wellness space and how I've educated myself and I feel like we've learned together. But Lexi, I want to hear about how you were involved in the creation of chroma and what's your responsibilities with the brand now? It's a mom and I started chroma, it used to be just a super food latte brands. We had the beauty matcha, the ultimate vitality, spicy passion, a coffee latte.

"Have to try their matcha. And their porridge is incredible as well, but today we're talking all about health, balance, resetting, why we reset what that looks like. And all of that good stuff. So we hope you guys love this episode. And let us know your thoughts. But let's just jump right in with Lisa and Lexi. First off, I just wanna say I when I lived in LA for two years and I would go to beaming literally all the time to get my smoothies and they were the best. So I want to know a little bit more about your history in the wellness space and why you decided to start chroma. Yeah, absolutely. And if you were at the beaming stores in LA, Lexi probably made a smoothie or two for you it was probably serving them to you because she at 16 went to LA with me to open all the stores up there and was managing them. And so you guys probably crossed paths at some point. That's funny because Gigi started working my store in montauk at.
Fire TV 4-Series Announced
"And today I want to tell you about another new product in the new line of TVs that Amazon has put out. If you listened yesterday to the flash briefing, you know that I talked about the fire TV Omni series, which has hands free voice control. Meaning you actually don't even need a remote. You just talk to the TV. The difference is, of course, with those TVs that require remote. And that is where the Amazon fire TV four series comes in. So what is this? It is a four K ultra high def resolution TV. It's got support for HDR ten and HLG. So that's got great picture quality. And it includes a 43 inch, a 50 inch and a 55 inch model size in that lineup. Of course, it's got a lot of the same Lexi features that you have come to expect. But the difference between the fire TV four series and the fire TV Omni series, again, is that the fire TV four requires the remote, which you can speak to and control XE. And of course, it comes with that. Whereas the Omni one does not even require the remote. You just simply speak to the TV. Now, again, as I mentioned, I am an affiliate for Amazon, and if you choose to use my link then, thank you so much. If you want to check out these TVs, the fire TV four series, you just go to voice in Canada dot CA slash fire TV four. The number four, fire TV four. If you want to check out the Omni series, you go to voice in Canada, dot CA slash fire TV Omni. And that will take you to those TVs. Now, the other thing I just want to mention briefly is the pricing of these. Yesterday I talked about the Omni pricing. But the fire TV four series pricing, the 43 inch is $470. The 50 inch is normally 600, but there is an introductory price right now, which is reflected if you're checking out, which is 460 or 23% off. And then the 55 inch TV is 660. The other thing I forgot to mention is with regards to the fire TV Omni series, the 50 inch also has an introductory sale price. And so normally that one is 650, but the introductory price is 510 or 23% off again reflected at
Fire TV Omni Series Announced
"Week, I want to tell you about a new line of products that Amazon has announced. And this is the all new fire TV family. Today I want to focus on their flagship series, which is actually called the Amazon fire TV Omni series. And by the way, if you do want to look at these, I do an affiliate link, you just go to voice in Canada dot CA slash fire TV Omni. Fire TV OMI. So let me tell you about this. Here are some of the key features that this brand new TV series has. First of all, of course, it is Lexi hands free controlled. It's got four K ultra high definition and Dolby digital plus. What does that mean? Okay, so first of all, with regards to Lexi, the TV itself has far field technology built into it, meaning that it can hear you from across the room, just like any other Amazon echo device. What that means is that you can now use your voice to experience TV, but also use a device for music for gaming and a whole bunch of other things that we can get into. You can simply ask Lexie to tune into your favorite show. And she will jump right into the program you're looking for, so that means you don't have to remember a channel. You don't have to remember what streaming, service you don't remember what input device you're using. You can also use your voice to control playback. Closed captions, brightness, manage your TV, soundboard volume, switch inputs, and there's so much more. And of course, you can actually set up routines as well. So for example, you could say Lexi kick off my day and the TV and smart lights can turn on. Lexi can share the weather, for example, can maybe read you your calendar, and then it can just tune in to the news on your buyer TV Omni series TV. The other thing that it does, it allows you to easily connect with other echo devices in your room if you want to do that. So you can create a incredibly high fidelity audio experience with stereo sound as well. There are some other smart features that have been built into this. You can example say Lexi play something and she will start playing you something from your favorite streaming service. You can also say Lexi play TikTok and Lexi is now an integration with TikTok. And it has picture in picture where you can use the TV to view what is going on, for example, at your ring smart doorbell and camera while you're watching TV and of course, you can control that with your voice. And a really nice aspect, of course, is the ability to share video communication through lexy calling and zoom and you can do that by your voice as well. So this TV, this particular TV, the Omni series four K, ultra high def smart TVs come in a whole bunch of sizes, 43 inch 15, 55, 65 inch and 75 inch. I'll just run through those prices for you quickly. The 43 inch is $520, the 50 inch is 650, the 55 inch is 710, the 65 inch is 1050 and the 75 inch is 1400. And again, you can check all of these out at voice in Canada dot CA slash fire TV
How to Use a Stereo Pair of Speakers With Amazoon Echo
"As you may recall last week, we covered two of the three different scenarios of how you can combine your echo devices to create some more immersive audio when it comes to your echo speakers. And I want to cover that third option today. The way you would set this up, again, you go into your Lexi app. You click on devices. You click on the plus sign in the upper right corner, then you click uncombined speakers. And the third option that we're talking about today is, of course, a stereo pair slash subwoofer as the Amazon team calls it in the options. This allows you to pair two speakers for stereo and or add a subwoofer for deeper base. So what you do is you click on that option, you then can select up to two speakers and a subwoofer. All those speakers have to be online on the same network and in the same room for that to work. Once you click on that, then you click next in the upper right corner. You then choose. And this is pretty cool. You then choose which of those speakers you want to be the left channel and which of those speakers you want to be. The right channel. And then when you do that, you click next and then you give it a name. So this group of speakers will have a name. That way, when you asked for music, you can use the name of that group to specify that it be played on that group of speakers. You can choose one of the names that are suggested, or you can create a customized name, then you click save, and then you are essentially good to go and that. How you do it? That's a stereo pair with or without a.
Use Alexa to Set Reminders for your To Do List
"Have you ever had one of those mornings where you wake up and you are just your mind is preoccupied with all the things that you need to do? And suddenly it can help to write those things down and get them on to a to do list. Well, here's an idea for you. You can use Lexie to take some of that. Some of that stuff off your mind off your plate. Basically use the remind me feature if you say Lexi remind me to send an email to my boss at ten a.m. she will do that. And the key thing here is you can actually schedule out your to do list by using the reminders and specifying times. Lexi remind me to phone my dad at one p.m., et cetera and you can set that all up in the morning as you're getting ready and then Lexie will give you those reminders as the day
What Should I Wear Today? Let Alexa Decide.
"Have you found that you were wearing the same thing over and over and over again? Well, Lexi can come to your rescue. I don't know if you know this, but Lexi is there to provide some fashion inspiration on a daily basis. You can simply say Lexi, what should I wear today? NG will give you a different idea depending on when you ask, meaning she does have a number of responses to this. I tried it a couple of times. I did get a number of different responses. So I'm not quite sure how many ideas she has, but I suspect she has quite a few. So if you're wondering what to wear today, just say it to Lexi, Lexi, what should I wear today? And she will let you know. And also, interesting fact, one of the statements that I got from her had a Canadian reference in it as well. Her answers are based on our location. So that's kind of interesting
Alexa Custom Assistant Expands
"I've got one final announcement from the Lexi live event. And this is all about the Lexi custom assistance. I don't know if you are aware of this but relatively recently Amazon announced the ability for brands to create their own custom assistant but using all the technology that has already built through Amazon and Lexi. So this means that a brand pick your favorite brand potentially could create their own unique wake word relevant to their brand. They could have their own voice their own personality their own capabilities. So it really becomes like a custom voice assistant but it is leveraging all of the infrastructure and the framework that Amazon has put in place with Lexi. So I do think we are going to be seeing more and more of this in the future. We're going to hear about brands having their own custom voice assistant and there's a good chance that it will be built on top of the Lexi infrastructure. So stay tuned for example of that. If you hear of any examples of that please into my way I'd love to highlight them for everybody so we can get a sense of what those are like. And I think
Voice Interoperability Initiative Expands
"Right Terry here and I've got two more announcements from the Lexi live event a couple weeks ago. Today and tomorrow we'll cover those. The first one today is about the voice interoperability initiative. So the VII program. If you're not familiar with that that is a program that is committed to providing users us with the choice and flexibility on assistance that they interact with to choose what you want to be interacting with in terms of which assistant. So it's very interesting because there's over 90 different members now that are working towards this vision. And some of these members of the initiative include of course Amazon but also Facebook Intel Sonos Garmin and other sort of major brands. So this is very interesting. It's going to mean that there's more options on devices for which assistant you want to speak with. And that's good for everybody as far as I'm concerned. So there you go. They continue to expand that and I think
Echo Devices to Support Matter
"Hey hey Terry here and I want to tell you about another announcement that Amazon made at the Lexi live event a couple weeks ago. These have been going on for a long time. I know because they announced so much. We're almost at the end of the announcements but it's fun to talk about the new things that are coming down the pipe. And this one is that Lexi is going to be incorporating this new interoperability protocol called matter. And it is aimed at making it easier for customers to know that their smart home devices will work with all major voice services. So matter again is an open source cross platform standard and it is coming later this year. Amazon says that it will be updating just about every single one of the plugged in echo devices. In fact it's only the first generation echo and echo dot and echo tap that are not going to be updated to this protocol called matter. So this will be interesting. I think it's great. It'll help us to make our smart homes a little more seamless and make sure that things work together. And we can look for that coming out soon. The general idea is that matter seems to be launching in late 2021. Will that launch in the U.S. first compared to Canada? I don't know it wouldn't be surprised but that's kind of the timeline
Alexa Conversations Now in Canada
"Is the latest announcement from Lexie live. And this one is specific to Canada, which is great. You may have heard of something called off Lexi conversations, Alexa conversations. And this is a very Advanced way that developers can design their skills to have more natural-sounding conversation with Lexi conversations. Basically is a deep learning based approach to dialogue management. And again, it enables the developers to create natural human like voice experience so you can change your mind on things. So, a good example is, you know, somebody's ordering a pizza and they change their mind in the middle of the order, you know, make that a large instead of a medium Lexi's able to respond to that. And there are so many other aspects to this, that would actually be a little bit too long to get into just in the short flash briefing. But the point of this particular flash briefing is to let you know that this technology Lexi conversations has Been expanded now to include all English locales, and of course that includes Canada. It wasn't available here previously. So this is very exciting. We are going to be seeing more and more skills that allow this natural conversation to have with Lexi. So I will keep you updated when I become aware of specific skills that incorporate this month, later technology of natural conversations, and I look forward to trying that out
Customized Pronunciations are coming to Alexa
"To get back to you. A few more features at Amazon announced recently that are coming down the pipe and one of these is called customized pronunciations home. So this is very interesting because the idea behind this is that it allows developers to add custom pronunciations for rare words to their skills and things that you're developing with Lexi. So you've ever listened to a skill or Lexie saying something and she's not quite pronouncing a word, right? This will allow developers to correct that. So, you know, it's not a huge deal in terms of you know, it's not an earth-shattering feature, but I think it is an important part of making Lexi sound more natural and overall improving the experience. So I'm excited to see that and more and more. We're going to see better pronunciation or less and less. We're going to see less errors. So I think that's
Bianca Andeescu's Routine
"Hey there, Terry here. It's question-and-answer day, and I've been getting some questions about Lexie, routines. And what are some shareable routines. Well, coincidentally, yesterday. I spoke about Lexie partnering with Bianca and rescue, the Canadian Tennis champion, and she actually has a routine that they created that you can share. You can use her routine wage. And Amazon, says that when you use her routine, it's basically what she does on a matchday. And when you start this routine, you will get off crowds cheering you on, you'll get a compliment. You'll get our meditation skill and this is so they say what, Bianca would go through on a matchday. So you can actually experience. Bianca's routine. How you set this up? You simply say, Lexi start, Bianca's routine, and then you will be good to go. So give that dog. Try. I think that's a lot of fun and I will be back tomorrow with some other announcements. Take
More Proactive Experiences for Your Amazon Device
"Terry Fisher here. So all right, let's get into another one of these announcements from the Lexi live event. Now, I have to admit this one, I'm not so sure that it's going to be coming to Canada as soon as the United States simply because this is based on locations and those features seem to take a little bit longer to come to Canada. Never less. I want to tell you about it cuz I think it's pretty interesting. It's all about more proactive experiences and this is the description that Amazon puts out for this. It says using event-based triggers and proactive suggestions developers can build proactive office. This is for customers. So, for example, if someone is heading out to work, the customers could opt in to have a skill proactively suggest that they walk their home. Or if someone begins a morning run, a school to proactively suggest a playlist to listen to. And they give an example here. And they say, Whole Foods is also using these features for curbside pickup experience, that will launch later this year. Now again, I'm assuming this is Is going to be in the United States. First, unfortunately, I don't know when it's coming to Canada, but I think you know, this is one of the really interesting things about voice technology. In my mind is when it can become proactive and really be a personal assistant, proactively offer the key word. So I will definitely keep you updated on what I hear with regards to any of these features coming to Canada for now know that they Amazon is working on this and typically, it is just a matter of time till those features come here as well. So
Switch From Alexa to Phone With This New App
"Is the latest announcement off. Lexi live again. And this one is a feature that's called send to phone. So what does this do? Well, this allows people customers us to start an experience on Alexi device and then continue it on a mobile phone. So this will also tap into some of the technology known as quick links and the send to phone feature will allow observers to build the ambient experiences that make them useful on both, the Lexi Echo devices or Alexa enabled device and your mobile phone at the same time. So it the idea is Jacob seen this whether you're starting an experience at home and then leaving the house, you can just carry that on on to your mobile phone so this will be a great for that type of use case and I look forward to keeping updated on when we schedule. To see that in action in the real
What is Food Skill API?
"Right, Terry here and here's your latest update with regards to the Lexi live. There's so much that came out of this event. I've been doing this for a little while and I saw a few more updates to tell you. Anyway, this one is all about offering food through your Alexa devices. This is a new feature that again, it was just announced and it allows developers to help enable restaurants to be able to quickly create high-quality food delivery and pickup experiences all through voice. It's the same sort of experience that people are starting to have with music and smart home devices. And this this particular technology is called their food skill API and again, it's going to help with the development and enable high accuracy of customer experiences for food delivery ordering Etc. So, once again, I'll keep you updated on when this comes to Canada, and it's great. Lots of functionality being built into Lexi and in the next, you know, in the upcoming months.
Request Songs on the Radio With Alexa
"Is a very very interesting feature that Amazon just announced with Lexi life. This is called the wrong song requests kill component. And this is the statement that that Amazon has put out about this. This feature will allow radio DJs to engage with listeners by taking song requests and dedications through Lexi. As an example, they say that iHeartRadio will support this feature and actually saw a demo, this whole literally. What happens is a person can speak to Lexi request a song dedicated to someone and then the DJ on the other end will get that list of requests that are coming in. May be able to play songs and this all happens through Lexi. I am very interested to see how this will actually play out. Once we have this feature, well, baked into the skill or we can act The experienced it but it's very fascinating to me because it opens up this whole new world of interactive voice technology with a brand with us. In this case a radio DJ but it could be other brands that are using these features. So I'm very sad to see where this goes in the future. For now it's called the song requests kill component and home. Again, this is available to developers right now to start implementing in their skills. So I will do my best to keep you updated on this as I learn new aspects about this. But I think this is a very exciting one.
An Alexa Shopping Actions Update
"Hey, Jerry here and I've got another update from Lexie live and it has to do with other ways that developers are going to be growing their revenue from Lexie skills. We've talked a lot about paid skills. We've talked about in scope purchasing and another feature that Amazon just announced is Lexi shopping actions. So what this means is that shopping actions that we were all very familiar with from shopping on Amazon, things like add to cart or buy. Now these options, these features will be available to Skilled developers to sell products from Amazon.com or amazon.ca within their skill. So good example, is there is a skill set. That is a game, a role playing game on Lexie and they will be able to sell their table top version of their game to users of the school. If they choose to do so because you can buy the tabletop version on Amazon. So once again is this going to come to Canada the same time. It comes to United States, we don't know. But again, this is one of those features that develop a access to and they can start adding in these Lexi shopping actions into their skill experiences. We will stay tuned and see what this is. Like there's lots of opportunity there for developers to grow Revenue in and help the businesses Thrive. So I think that's a great thing. All

"To <hes> feed their families is going to be nutritious enough for a whole meal. So what are your favorite recipes. Do you have some that. You kind of bring up again and again in different forms that are just for each of you and and maybe for some of their family members. What are their recipes like that. That are just your go to comfort meals when you're cooking for yourself. Oh yeah that's such a hard question because there it. It's it's hard for us because we're constantly. I mean pretty much all. We knew all weekends create new recipes. So i feel like we're often eating new and different things And not going back to the same things. But i will say for me the one recipe that i still make several times a week probably two to three times a week is we have this. This very simple greek chicken salad and it's just at chick peas bell peppers tomatoes vegan. Fat person can use regular kalamata olives. Jesus really delicious. Easy greek dressing and to me. That's just might go to. I can make it. I know it by heart now and make minutes and i eat it. All the time descended Were life or i'm trying to make the meat substitutes a maybe it's a combination so discussed the protein discussion so a lot of times all Certain ingredients maybe. It's like mushrooms. Ziva meaty texture and he in law and maybe some walnuts and things like that to create more of a immediate tax After new so those dishes a lot more savory. I actually prefer creating savory stock because it's a lot trickier to do the vegan baking in that. Yeah i think more savory soups and we is having a soups. When you're sitting it on a night. When i was like. Oh gosh making a cook pursuit. So i forgot are the other one that constantly make. I just made it this week. Actually even in the ninety five degree weather We have a lemon rice soup. That all the time. That is really. It doesn't have chicken like a traditional recipe but will do us we planned the traditional recipe has eggen it to make it of thicker creamier soup and instead we blend when kenny beans and again protein exactly it lands is incredible rich buttery texture to the soup. So that's that's another face go soup. Recipes is what i was looking at Most recently looking at looking for alternatives to a vegetarian chili. Which i've done a lot of and i was just amazed. At how many soups you had and My math starting to What it is. I think about it. But that's one of your recipes. I'm going to Pick out this week from the the soup recipes that i've noted but we're we're out of time but let me ask <hes> of all your vast recipes if somebody is just thinking of an experimented isn't really much of a cook but wants to do something different and healthier could each if you make a suggestion of what they might cook this week from your site. That's pretty simple and easy for people who wanted to get started with more replant focus shirt so i'll go first. We do have a great simple recipe for vegan taco me essentially a substitute for ground beef or ground chicken and it uses. Let's rental the mushers to create that texture. And it's just a really nice simple recipe that you can use. I think we we had tacos every week. Growing up youngsters put out all the ingredients and everyone could create their own Combinations in. I think that's a great thing to have kids. You just create the base recipe in the new all the toppings and it's a great way to make an easy dinner n you can make it ahead of time when you can make extras and you could use a different way. Like the radio or something later in the week. Yes that's definitely want to make our lentil yates gotti spaghetti all seems like on. It's nice that has protein is traditional carrots. Celery things like not so. Those are good suggestions and I again. I want to encourage people if this conversation made them hungry. The website is crowded kitchen. And it's you know if you just enjoy looking at recipes of beautiful food and wonderful photographs. Even if you don't feel like cooking today i i would recommend crowded kitchen. Thank you so much for being here today. It's it's been fun. And i am inspired to get into my own kitchen. Thank you so much

"Of your business. So how you don't have to share anything don't wanna share but how does business make money from A big website like this and from instagram. What are the income streams Come from a business like this. Shirks are separately from our content. Chretien business the way that we create income. It's through add revenue on our website so You know if if you've been on our website like any other food publication or really any other online publication you'll see ads on the sidebar and and you know throughout the page and we have that because it. It supports our ability to continue putting recipes on the website and that grows as website growth. So we're still we're on the smaller end certainly right now of blogs but that has been growing a lot for us so we expect that to hopefully be maybe thirty percent of our income next couple of years and then a large portion of our income for our website has come from sponsored content so we partner with various brands and we actually now have an agency that represents us and helps us negotiate partnerships and essentially. You know take a brand for example. Bob's red mill. We've worked with them for several years now. Absolutely love their products and we were hurt them to create six recipes per year right now and so once. Every two months we recipe we create video. Do all the photography not right blog post sharing about their products and where people can find them and how they can use them and then we share that on social media as well and so of course we are compensated for that so that has been a pretty large portion of our in common than there are also some some smaller revenue streams. Many lockers will make money through affiliate her. We don't do that quite as much. But there are definitely other other so many nags unless you youtube there. So many ways you can monetize. It's really for us. It's just been choosing which ones we wanna focus on it and really working on those so under side in in the photographs. I've seen various places. It feels like you started best kitchen and yet sounds like you're doing a lot of work at it. Are you still a home based business or basser. Are you like working around it when it's time to make dinner or how you physically doing all this kitchen. Work now yet dinners. Jerry actually will consciously like his all do the planning or a lot of times with what we're gonna shoot Saw on and we'll kind of try to plan stuff into that. We do have dinner. Because i don't want to cook when the kitchen is closed down zell on yet. It's physically pretty demanding are entering now Absolutely fabulous she's amazing on. She hopes lexi she helps me. It's really to run for the both of us but we do still work out of always always Yes in my house Nicole years when she and her husband able to purchase a bigger home in the studio space in it at all operations will move there. Yeah and hopefully we'll be able to build something out that's more specific turn needs and but we basically converted by parents office into our studios. We have all massive shelf where all our crops and all of our back job center tripods and everything and then youngson were literally just shuttling stuff back and forth from the kitchen to the studio all that. We'll be back with bev after this brief message. Are you ready to make a difference in the world. The voinovich school of leadership and public affairs had ohio..

"That permit gramma and our photography. I've always really really enjoyed most of our family photos. Don't have usually taking the photos Yen lexi started this. And i just kind of fell into. It's really been very rewarding. Fundamental has made us my creativity. I guess absolutely so. I have a question Really going back to lexi But also related to your photography bath. Lexin use the term food media our food. What was that right food media. I didn't even know there was such a thing. Is that what it. What does that entail end. Does that include photography or is it just happened at the two of you have the two big pieces and tell us how the division of labor is. Yes so the food media company that i worked for for that first year right out of college essentially you know it's it's definitely a newer industries so in some ways it's actually kind of difficult to explain but basically they were a An online media publication the end. They did crab sharing of photography recipe content from all of these amazing loggers in creators across social media. And so they were working with these huge food and beverage brands and they did all these. These large campaigns where we would create recipes featuring brands products. And then they would share it across their very large social media platforms. So look at what i mean when i refer to food media and you know we're doing that essentially A slightly smaller scale than than this company that i was working out at four. But we've really developed our company into kind of a three pronged business where we in one on one hand we. We do content creation for several food and beverage brands so we actually create photography and recipes specifically for their marketing purposes and so that content never shows up on our website. But we do. That is a very large rbis and then of course there is the the part of the business that is the recipes in the photography that.

Well my sweet cherry blossoms we're gonna move on to the next segment positive spin so what this is about is i'm gonna throw a negative scenario. You and you're gonna think of some positives for because lot of times. When bad things happen to us. I'm ready for it all right so you get to travel back in time. This scenario okay. What's your favorite decade. Oh what's your favorite decade that you haven't lived in. I would say that. Probably the sixties. Okay sixty so you travel back. I was i get some sixties vibes with the the Is a tie or no. It's not tied tied i okay at jimi hendrix shirt. O j h. werfel hayes. Because my hair's purple nice punny. That's great just got sancta to go back to the sixties and you can't come back your suck there for bore. How can they bring my daughter or she just abandoned. Oh you get the option. If you want to bring her you count bringer. Okay so you can get to bring your daughter. What's her name scarlet scarlet. Okay so you can bring your little chair. We bossom guys go to the sixties and you're stuck there forever. What are some positives. Well i'll have access to More options for my glasses. Because i love these. I have them in five different colors but obviously if i lived the time era. There's way more i'm sure to choose from so that's cool. I can wear like the cool clothes. You know like the chorus ads. And the weird. Like up do's and course courses. Yeah oh i thought. That was like victorian era kind of the sixties. They dress like that. Till i mean they weren't as big news. It's not like they were going to ground balls monday to friday the blush cheeks little mall. Yeah yeah yeah. But she's a different story. But i just think that that whole 'cause i'm really fashion i i liked that time era. Okay and also i. You would have less to worry about. I think then do now. Yeah i i feel like meditation is so big now in. Mindfulness is so big and i. I'm a tater. I definitely tate but i feel like we need it so much because we go from zero to a hundred everything everything. It's like work. I love that miyazaki doesn't really dawdle on like the concern of. Oh is this going to be understandable to every single person watching. He's kinda just like no. We're just gonna watch. Yeah yeah this movie would be five hours of nolan directed. It is god lane. The can't explain the mechanics of how how spiderman pumped the pump to the notices name not spiderman boiler man how like pumped the water up to the right things when he got the tokens and yeah need to know if christopher nolan made this movie win chiro gives up her name and gets a new name. "Like oh if boys are means you. It means they like you. Oh f- disguise being a little weird like you should just take the compliment like their stuff like that a lot where i get very strong gut reactions about interactions or like This creepy this feels wrong. Like this doesn't feel safe but so much of what has been taught is like no. It's okay like if you're just polite if you just smile if you just go along with it like everything will be okay. And that's not very much so not the case in. So i think in a lot of ways There's a lot of like dismantling for me in that. Like i have very strong gut reaction that is ninety nine percent of the time in right and then like lexi says i try and like talk myself out of it almost where i'm like ono like what about this. This is probably happening de da And then y'all like i. Would i would agree. Like i've been putting a lot of different situations that are like not good. Because i didn't trust my gut reaction because i think a lot of it is subconsciously trying to abide by like a lot of rules were taught and i think that can honestly apply to children in general to though in like your kids like we're always taught like someone wants to hug. Give them a hug. Oh that's your family member. Give them a kiss like there's so much about Agency and consent that children don't really get in any regard And i think that's another thing about the movie like tying it back tying it anything it's not a side tangent anymore. Not going. I think with two hero like we get to see her position where she doesn't have agency like she doesn't wanna move. She doesn't want to leave her friends. She's clearly distraught over the scenario going on around her in her life and then she finds complete agency in her independence in her freedom from her family like while she is not technically totally free because she's signed her name away. Essentially to you bob lake. She gets to establish ourselves in a way that she probably wouldn't have if she.

"First harry potter movie in just how they're such a distinct lied between like normal in quotes Like existence and then into the world of magic like with spirited away you know they walk through this tunnel and it's eerie like mystifying. And then you kind of see a similar thing like harry potter in that. Go into that little bar. There in that dingy alley had grid hostile like hit the bricks a certain way and they reveal like this hayden world. That's like right there but you just had no idea it was there a second ago That's such a cool element. I think it works so well in we see that sometimes julian. Sometimes we don't like house. Moving castle is a great example where the magic is just there like. There's no really clear distinction like it's all coexisting together. Were spirited away like they're such a hard wide drawn in the sand of like non magic and magic. I think that's such honestly like such an exciting thing to see. Especially when you are a kid like you you do believe in magic and you think there are like secret spirits living there like there's all these hidden things that you just have to look a little harder for maybe finally see it and i think that's another reason why this is such an appealing movie. Is that like it really. Plays on that idea of like magic. Is there like you're just not looking for it. No for sure i think. When you're able to see a protagonist that that comes from your world go into a magical world league experience at with them which is storytelling for sure and go ahead. Lexi interesting lead into it. Where when they're starting down the path literally starting down the path of Going the wrong way to their house. You start seeing the little a- lodges to spirits the houses the difference nagging and it starts getting more and more intense as she goes into the park. And i think it's it's really really great. Build up of something's happening something's different. Something's not quite right here right. Maybe but not what you're used to and we're gonna have to be aware of that as you move forward with. This reminded me while. We're making comparisons like clear compared to harry potter. It reminded me of a bit of a one eighty compared to that the midsummer kind of like. Oh yeah that's a good especially at the at the beginning she. They all hate her and then at the end. They're celebrating her. That's kind of the same aspect there to hero gets there and they're all don't want her here you know we don't want these people here like it's obviously a different ending this summer. Not necessarily a happy. Now is midst tomorrow remake of spirit away confers like worst knows what came to my mind but can you hear your exact. That's a bank..

No lime doesn't work lemon. Does work does not. Orange is the best. What i find interesting about this though. Is you can substitute lime with lemon. Eucalyptus lemon lime orange lemon lemon with orange. But you cannot substitute orange with lime before we get into the podcast which you want to be sincere and just thank you for making me. Start the podcast. Because that was kind of you got me going on this whole thing and like you and your sister both. But like i mean really but.
