"Did you connect with president Trump or candidate Trump? So Larry kudlow and I and laugh were interviewing all the presidents who were running all the candidates for president back in late 2015. And remember there were a lot of 16. I don't know if we were to remove all of them, but we did most of them. And Trump was one of the last ones we talked to. And how did that discussion go? First, well, what happened is he wanted to meet with Larry and myself privately. And that was Corey Lewandowski. Remember Cory was running the campaign, did a fantastic job. And we went and I didn't like Trump. I didn't I've never met him. I just didn't like him. I just thought he was kind of a blowhard of blah blah blah. And we went in and spent an hour and a half just me, Larry, and Trump. No, other people. Which I thought was interesting. Again, usually these politicians are filled with people. And I remember Larry and I'll never forget this. Larry and I walked out of that room and were like, he's going to be president. Really? That's how blown away we have. But he agreed with you. We had a great conversation. I mean, I love Trump because you can argue with the guy. Yeah. You know? You know, and it was me, and I was just so blown away by this guy. I don't know. Look, I told Trump. I don't agree with you on trade, and you know, bite back and forth, but I love the fact that he was willing to take on the conventional wisdom in Washington. And the whole drain the swamp message. That's why I won. That's right. Totally. Totally.

But I think they definitely aren't going to play with fear and I think they definitely feel that they can take points off of both buying and Barcelona. And we have talked about this on the show for a long time and as Robert Lewandowski that you know I rate very highly and this is a new chapter in his life going to Barcelona, but I think that in this book called Robert Lewandowski being a great success. We have to go back in a book a bit to a couple of chapters back. This is a guy who scored 41 goals beating gat Miller's record, this is the guy who went to Bayern Munich, he said he wants to extend his contract. This is a guy who saw maybe this time to end his career Bayern Munich, but at the same time, Bayern muni didn't even answer him. They didn't even answer his agent and at the same time they're starting flirting with a younger player, which is in every book, some part of the plot. So I guess we can all talk about chapters and Robert Lewandowski can say now that this doesn't annoy him, but as you rightly say, Dan, I mean, there is a way of you don't care so much you care a lot. I mean, I made that expression on myself now. I guess, but you don't understand what I'm saying. It looks like Robert Lewandowski want to get his office chest as you said. And, of course, we knew about this. We talked about this week in and week out that imagine being this guy being the superstar. I buy a Munich. At the same time, I think that is right of him to say what he's saying because a robot levandowski should never say that yes, because of a 21 year old guy for Norway, I wanted to move. He was right, maybe the biggest star of the German Bundesliga, he has the right to now join one of the biggest clubs in Europe, coming from one of the biggest as well in Bayern. So he will see forward, but still he had some dig at the back and you were beeping for fun though. It was like a cartoon, I guess. You kind of feel good for him. Yeah. Listen, I really believe that this was a situation where no one was really in the wrong. You understand Bayern Munich and their interest in Erling Haaland. But if a robot 11 doski and unless look at it from his perspective purely here, you have to be, you have to be upset with the way it kind of came together. And your own feeling that your contributions to the club have all of a sudden meant very little at that point. So you understand why he feels as strongly as he does. And I think he's absolutely right to feel that way. I know he's moved on. Give him his relationship with the club and those fans. Give him everything that he's won. Give me records that he's broken. To see that separation between himself and Bayern Munich be as acrimonious as it was in the last few weeks, you understand know why he also wants to lash out at the club, but also have his side be told for his hand to buy in France. So again, I don't give him wrong either. It kind of amazing to me that the hierarchy by a Munich are so arrogant. And it's not like this is something new. There have been like this for years. They almost, they almost give this outlook as it's about them. They are more important than the team or anybody else. And to have a guy who scored 40 goals a season, brick skeleton was record, a guy that you played with as well. And to completely ignore him whilst you're trying to bring somebody else in, it just smacks of real arrogance and thinking that, you know what, these guys should be just pleased that they're here. Right. They should be robbing over those of you should be pleased that we're looking after them. Oh, believe in those cases should be pleased. There is a buy in player. So get away. I mean, it's just incredible that the most important player you have, you treat with such disdain. It's amazing. Is that fair, Ann? Well, it's fair to say, but as Steve is saying, this is also, I mean, you can call it arrogance. I won't color arrogance. This is just the way the buyer cultures always been built. There is a history of that that they have lost player in this way. Yes, you can call it arrogance, but at the end now, I think that was time for Robert Lewandowski to make this interview. We just felt that he wanted to say that. But by and also, that is also a strength of buying. They have moved on. They have Sadio Mané. They have they got matters. Tell. So they have had a quite good transfer window. And I also think that Robert Lewandowski is yes, he is a football superstar, but he's also a human being and as Steve rightly so you just feel you get treated this way. You get to get that off. But I don't see quite honestly buying care. Because they moved on and I think in a hard way, Stevie, I don't think if you agree, but you know that for Liverpool, the king is dead long live the king. Luis, what's interesting is that he's kind of played this really well if you look at both fan bases in the sense like saying, I never wanted to leave by him, Munich, but now obviously I'm at Barcelona, and I don't feel that's the second choice for me. No, of course. And I think he's been very professional trying to keep it quiet. He never say anything to get or Bayern Munich hungry. The board of the supporters and neither the other side that he could be there in the next suppose him Barcelona supports it. So at the end, I think you've done what he has to do has to wait wait for Barcelona to make the approach. I think it felt hurt at that moment because Bayern probably wasn't giving him what he thought that he deserved sometimes and I agree. I'm not calling arrogance, but it's true that sometimes for a place where they get in board position, they forget what it is to be a footballer and they've been there and they complain about the board when they were treated the same way. I don't understand why they don't realize all they kind of get closer to the feeling of where they fell when they were football players. What is the feeling of Lewandowski in those moments? You arrive into an age that you are not in all the younger, but you still the biggest star. And I think they're going to regret in the future because when you pull out 50 million goals from your site is very difficult to bring so many players who can add those kind of 50 goals. I think you've done a great job. I think at the moment at the right moment, just open up and say, Lisa, and I'm hurt. That's the way that I feel now.

How do you think they're feeling Casey given that they've lost their main man? Well, I mean, it is Bayern Munich in Bayern Munich find a way. I mean, they're very competent in the way they recruit to the side. They do a great job of not having to make a wholesale changes, normally the game plan is to bring in two or three main people knowing that a couple people are probably going to be excess as well. Now, to Ali's point, you lose a guy that every year is giving you 40 goals. You don't replace that with one person. So I think the idea for this Bayern Munich side is they're going to have to share the goals. It's no longer going to be just let's rely on Robert Lewandowski and then go from there. It's giving me a case where a lot of people are going to have to step up and pick up the slack. Okay, so you're going to be talking to some of the players that are later today. What in particular are you going to be discussing with them? Well, I think a lot of it is more like a history stuff with what's going on with some of the players. You know, talking to Alphonso Davies and how he's kind of made his transition from being kind of like a young kid to then becoming more integral, particularly after the injuries in the COVID stuff, talking to Kingsley come on about his role in the change of going from a younger player to now being a veteran guy and what does that role and how does that roll change? Every time an established player kind of leaves, now he becomes more of that veteran player. I'm going to have hopefully I'm going to have an opportunity to talk to Oliver Kahn and some of the issues with losing a player like Lewandowski and then how do you replace them? And then also some of the issues that just the Bundesliga has with their 50 plus one system and is that a detriment to Bayern Munich in that Champions League and maybe that's a reason why maybe their bookies percentages are a little bit lower to win because some of the other leagues in some of the other teams have a little bit more of an opportunity to spend that the Bundesliga sides don't want to be hearing those interviews over the next couple of days. Interesting stuff from nagelsmann talking about Lewandowski's departure, the Bayern managed to come out and say we have a possibility of building FC by without a striker that can reliably score 40 goals. It's an interesting task for me and my coaching staff as well as and Oliver Khan. Luis how much of a game changer is it now for nagelsmann that he hasn't got that focal point that number 9 that 40 goals a season man? I think it's a massive massive blow for Bayern Munich. And at least rafinha, as exciting on the site as exciting as it may be, good for leads, but we haven't seen him in Barcelona shoot just yet. The other thing is, there is less pressure on Ferran Torres. To be the guy who's scoring the goals. Where he had that responsibility at times last season, that responsibility is not quite there. It's now in Lewandowski. People are focusing on those who have guys who wait to take his place now as well. And you know what else is going to happen? He's going to get a lot of tap ins at the back pose. Because everybody's going to be attracted to live on those key. And while everyone does attract that crowd, that ball is going to roll to the back pose, tap in from my kind of range and all of a sudden he's got all the confidence in the world and Barcelona flying. To that point, having a cue of players behind you can often bring out the best in some players. And that's the hope here. Listen, you play for a club like Barcelona, you play at that level, man city included. There's always going to be a queue. Regardless of regardless of your position. Unless you're a Lewandowski or Pedro agave, that's part and parcel of wearing that shit. So it's up to front to respond, no. Who have you got out on the left, dembele or a finne Luis? On the left, because I want to be in, and I think there are senior can give something different. I will have them belated. It's going to need a player like them, to put crosses. So of course, I think we need to understand that a club that was financially financially in a very difficult moment, no one was expecting this great signing. The player himself put a lot on his side, a pressuring a lot buyer, and that's why it was possible making these signing for Barcelona. Of course, he always said he wanted to try new leaks and La Liga is one of the best links in the world and he and his family loves Barcelona lobs Majorca and these also help for making the decision to go through Barcelona. And Louis I imagine not only the fans were excited, but his new teammates are as well to have someone of that much quality coming in. Of course, we are all excited. The ones who follow Barcelona, the ones who follow La Liga, of course, is something very important, a player like him who can add a lot of goals to this Barcelona side. Of course, he brings a lot of excitement and he mentioned no long ago he wanted to play for Barcelona. He's been pushing, he was desperate to arrive, and now you can see a very committed player that probably is going to fit perfectly in this style of football for Barcelona. He's going to have players around him who are going to provide them with a lot of good balls. You got paid. And we are not going to talk about their wide area with them. So far different raffia, so many talents so much creativity to have that they have to end with him. We live on those. So everybody's very excited in the first of all, it must be chubby that it is being very quiet. It's been waiting for the moment to start dealing with this situation, but definitely it must be looking forward to start working with levandowski and of course with the amount of talent that is good at the moment in this squad. Looking forward to see if it's going to be able to bring back again the trophy that they were missed last year. Do you like the signage? I do. I mean, how can you not like the setting of Robert Lewandowski, give him everything he's done in the game, particularly the last couple of years where he just seems to be getting better even in his slightly advanced age. So I think, yeah, what it does is a little bit crying and he plays a dangerous game because as far as we know, only one club won't see him and he hasn't got the money for it. So, you know, where he's going to end up? Well, only if I think he's going to end up somewhere because he's a fantastic player. I have some question marks about this tactic. The fact that basically buying flirted with harland wanted to do everything to get Harlem there couldn't get it through and therefore delayed giving Lewandowski any sort of contract extension. Now it's too little too late. Yeah, it is. And just depends on what angle you come at this from. From the club's perspective, you want who is arguably the best upcoming young striker in football. He's available this summer, he's not going to be available for quite some time yet. He's putting in Germany, so you test her arm. You take that chance to see if you can get him. The problem for Bayern is that it coincided with Lewandowski's best year as an individual. Best scoring is as an individual. So now you have to balance up going after and securing your future so to speak and upsetting your player after his best season. It didn't work out with Holland and I sympathize what would Lewandowski after breaking the 40 year old record. That's not how you want to be rewarded. And you want to go somewhere that you'll be needed. Right now to Frank's point a minute ago, right now it seems that that Boston and pool position. But there are any number of clubs who would snap their hand off to get Lewandowski not just Barcelona. But surely even Lewandowski understands that Bayern hard to make an attempt to sign arguably the hottest young striker on the planet because surely he equals not that big that he doesn't realize that he's not the future long-term and that if they were able to say in a maybe then the pathway to your move would have been simpler. But surely he's got to understand. There's none of us late to see players coming in in our possession, but I think when you're in your 30s, you have to expect the club to be looking about further down the lane. This smells to me as if it could get to a stage and I have no experience and that's by the way before you mention it. As Frank said, dangerous tactics of, I'm just throwing this out there. I don't know what conversations is hard about being professional and being nice, but he could throw the baby out with the bathwater here and basically say to them. You're not getting much out of me next year. And that becomes a very, very dangerous game for the club and for nagelsmann is what can play in my keeping. Michael, here's the problem. "Now Biden is another story. Is he as dense as he seems, is this cognitive decline? Cut two people are struggling. People are suffering. People are figuring out what am I going to do? How am I going to pay to fill up my gas tank? I got to get to work. I have to do my job. I got to get from point a to point B it's $5 and 40 cents a gallon. It's 80 $90 to fill up my minivan, what do I do? Well, grandpa Joe says, don't fret. 'cause this is actually good news. And when it comes to the gas prices, we're going through an incredible transition that is taking place that God willing when it's over will be stronger in the world be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over. You see what Europe is doing relative to the importation of Russian gas. You see anyway, I won't go through it all, but and what I've been able to do to keep it from getting even worse, and it's bad. The price of gas, the prompt is something I told you heard me say before, it would be a matter of great discussion on my kitchen table when I was kid growing up. It's affecting a lot of families. What is what's the sort of distinction between the the the lobby bar in the backrooms actual important power players are so there's really two tiers if you go out in the lobby? People who really wanted to be seen in need to be seen to kind of project some sort of importance but they may not actually be that important example. Corey Lewandowski is somebody.
