"Important because. The fans have to see something tangible to take forward. Now you can probably not a good result against Dortmund not proved to be a catalyst. When he was at Portsmouth. I'm just trying to be a realist. In terms of where they are on the table, look the way the plan, look the way the defendant knows they've been shot in front of all. You know, what's the point hanging on to your children that I mean, you've got to try and win, of course you are. But the likelihood of Dortmund beaten them is quite high. And so therefore, I don't think there's any great expectation there. However, there is expectation to be legion a Leicester City and Everton, and then with us envelope coming up. And it's about time for leadership now. It's probably going to be by the issue and cooler Bali. I know I can't play in the Champions League, but it probably will play in the Premier League. And it's time for cooler biology to step up and show the leadership that Napoli, the leadership that had it not that they brought them to the club that defense of powerhouse that it was organizing about four look. There's no excuses. The gotcha will back and they got regimes back now. That was the excuse two months ago. A ring backs a row. We don't have the wing backs that we got your wingbacks know. But you've got other defenders, you signed on a defenders, you brought kula Bali and from now play who was one of the best in Europe. Okay, hasn't been great, but it's time for him to step up. And I really think those three big Premier League games, not the Champions League game, are where it's going to hinge. What? What's the worst case scenario, obviously they lose them all. But what's the line? You say right pot has got to go if he doesn't get X amount of points from those games. I don't know. Take the three Premier League games against those teams, take the Dortmund game and yell it out for now. I would say if we picked up a point or maybe three

"Are we saying that it's the Gary O'Neil effect? Well, I mean, sure, I think he would, it would be wrong to not give him some of the credit. Look, if they were getting thrashed every week, he'd be, he'd be taking the blame. He'd be fired. So it's got to work both ways. I mean, look, I think the thing with Bournemouth that's that's encouraging for them is like, okay, you can take your 9 nil against Liverpool. That's horrifying. And deeply embarrassing. But ultimately, those aren't the games that are going to decide their fate. It's the games that have happened since, nil nil against wolves, three two against Nottingham Forest, the one one against Newcastle, which now actually looks like a really good result. But no mill against Brentford, two one against Leicester City. Like, yeah, when Bournemouth are going to play the teams that are above them, they're going to get thrashed in a lot of those games. That's just like, they're not suited for those games. But that's not, those aren't the games that matter. The teams that are around them below them close to them, like if they can get draws and eke out some wins like that, that'll be enough for them to potentially stay up. And I'm trying to remember what my prediction was with them. I thought I think I had them going down, but they're proving people wrong right now. Two one last weekend over Lester city? No, those are the kind of games that will keep them up. Sure, definitely. Let's see. Anything else from you on the Premier League? No, but just one thing just to circle back quickly. "But when the wind stopped coming, that it's going to feel a little bit like it did under Josie. He's got prickly again. He had that press conference prior to the Frankfurt nel draw, where we talked about, I can teach lots of people lots of things about football. And where he was questioned about his decisions, questions about his selections, why is my daughter playing? Why isn't it explaining why he's playing? Oh my goodness, it's common about Matt Doherty. I mean, I know what he meant. He said MacDonald he played every game under me until he got injured last season, and then he got, he got injured, and I don't think he's back yet. He's not ready yet. He said, if he's not ready, I'm not going to pick him. I don't want to get because I'm smart. I'm smart. Why did you not play him? Because I'm something to that effect. Because I don't want to lose the game because he's not ready, which sounds bad for Doherty, but I know what he means. So this is what they're going to be then. I mean, look, there will be games like the Leicester City game, but even that, I mean, it was hard to account for sun coming off the bench and scoring three and 14 minutes. But look, even under Mourinho, what was the stat I told you? They led all of Europe in goals because they were getting their until I think Bayern Munich kind of took that from them right near the end of the season, but they were over a hundred goals in all competitions. Crazy considering some of the direct that they played. They were hard to watch. But there's a little bit of that here too. It's a defensive, it's a defensive style. I'm not saying it's exactly the same as what you had under Marino, but you're going to feel some of those feelings when you watch them play. I guess I got too excited by the end of season games, like where they were dominated in the first half at Villa Park at the end of last season. And yet scored what four was it? I mean, they ran riot. But the counterattack was so scintillate. Lethal. And it could potentially continue to be so. And that's the thing about like, I didn't go too deep into what we were talking about their performance in the Champions League. But it finished nil nil. And a lot of the game was kind of, but like they did, they did generate chances. It was just one of those games where they weren't finishing them. And unfortunately, if you're going to play a style that doesn't necessarily generate an abundance of chances, you have to be able to finish the ones that you get. And you think, okay, well, Cain's son, Richardson, I'll throw in there. Like, they should be able to, but if Cain and son have an off game and sun by the way, has been off for every game of the season except Leicester City. It's going to be tough. You're going to have some tough games like that. Now the other thing I was going to say about this game, I've said this before again, this is not a slide on arsenal. This is not a slide on arsenal. This is not a slide on arsenal. But with regards to Tottenham, it's amazing how far you can go if you just don't beat yourself. If you just don't do dumb things, it's amazing what you can achieve. It sounds simple. Just don't be stupid. When you play the sport, or any sport for that matter. Just be normal. I saw Hugo Louis makes a terrible blunder. He's been good so far this season. Yeah. I guess those things happen. He's always got one of them. He's been very good, so I'm not going to go ahead and say that, but he's, yeah, sure, fine. And so I'm watching that and I think, well, in a North London Derby you make a mistake like that. Can't get much worse than that. I texted you this afterwards. Can't get much worse than that. And then Emerson screams to the world, hold my beer, what is he doing? Like, it's one of those challenges, I don't think it was a red card, but you lose all benefit of the doubt. Of course. When you do something like that, that's just so, so unnecessary. Where you are on the field, the direction in which I forget who it was for arsenal that had the ball. I should have, I should remember. But the direction in which they're going with it. There's no threat. Why? Why? Why? Why do players do these things? Presumably you've risen to this level, but you said that you said before, he's got that in him. You don't know what this guy's going to do. He does, but boy for it to rear its head in that moment and I understand a Northland and Darby emotions are high, maybe you're not thinking the way you're supposed to be, but like, I'm sorry, you just can't do it. And again, I think he was a little bit hard done for it to go to a straight red. He's going to miss three matches now because of it. And it effectively ended the game. They were taught and we're down two one when it happened, arsenal got one a few minutes after that. That finished them off. I just want to say because let's look at the arsenal side of things. You say, don't do stupid things, don't beat yourself. I actually gave away a penalty that in the past they would have crumbled from. Oh yeah. An completely unnecessary penalty. Gabrielle's challenge. There was no need for that, especially in the box. The guy was running into traffic. He was going nowhere. So I want to give arsenal some credit here, as well. I think arsenal played better than spurs. Definitely. In the game, I think it was another compose performance. And like I said, they didn't do the thing that they've done in the past where they where they get cut open like a soft cheese after a defensive mistake. That didn't happen. They rolled the sleeves of got back into the game, got ahead again. And I think the right carrot obviously had an influence on the match. But I think some of that, I mean, I watched that season of all or nothing. I think that mentality, I really think it starts with the manager. People can make fun of some of the stuff, but he's so upbeat. He instills so much faith in these places. I do not think they're just so constantly wanting to be on the front foot, but is this not just players, I mean yeah, they got good players too. Yeah, they have it. They have better players than they have last season and they're still from the collapse at the end of last season. They're probably more resolute in their mindset. Maybe you have to go through it to understand it and to get it, but that can break a team too. It can and it has broken arsenal in the past. That's why I'm saying this might this be a different Aristotle. No, it's October, and I'm not willing to say that they're going to win the championship yet.

"How much trouble the end, Stevie? Well, you have to take question drop four. You know, end of the day, when the season kicked off, I don't think people at Chelsea are thinking they're going to win the Premier League. Because they know they're behind city in particular. But right now, the only thing on their main will be top four. Because it's a disaster for Chelsea, they don't get in the top four. And right now, you don't know what you're getting from Chelsea from game to game. They're just so flat. It's just no spark. If you're Chelsea, Chelsea supporter, and you see that table with Chelsea sitting 6 on ten points. You are absolutely delighted because nothing about their football has suggested top half of the table, let alone top four. We've discussed the controversy with the west angle. Okay, let's see that could have gone anyway. Leicester had a gold disallowed Harvey Barnes on Edward mendy. That could have gone a different way and now all of a sudden if those two games are draws, you have a Chelsea sitting on 6th and that is far more realistic position for them. And or sitting on 6 points, I should see. And that's a far more realistic position in that their football has been that decidedly poor. I have sat here and been very critical of Leicester City and have said that they are in a relegation fight. That they are in real trouble. And they match Chelsea. But for that disallowed goal, we could be having a very different discussion about Chelsea and less than that's how poor Chelsea have been. Let's see where Mary has him in his predictions. Of course, we can get the chance to get him before kit. Mario goodness me like a hundred years old in that picture. But you know what? You know what happened? Well you get this age, it looks better. "Wrong decision here, which is obviously not the right thing to do. Though, Frank the birth and Stevie nickel were on his side yesterday. No, no, no problem. I'll tell you what, I rest my case. I don't even need to put any following argument forward. But let me tell you another thing. If we're going to say in duels, you said they're a better contact. If we're going to say everything to keeper comes out, whether it's to smother the ball at some of these feet or it's to take a cross in the air that there's a better contact, then everything's a free case. Nobody's saying nobody's seeing that. Nobody's. You just said there's no, I'm seeing. I was intentional. That bit of contact from born was intentional. You can not tell me. Listen, you nobody can convince me that he didn't know what? Let me tell you what happened here. Edward mendy had before the trailing leg and would need to spill it. I'm not that interested, but Mandy went to parry. It would have fallen to Cornwall. But he went to Paris, but Boyd went to leave something on bendy and got caught for it. That's the walk us 2022. Let's just take a look at that, shall we? How things stand at the bottom of the table away from these decisions? You can see West Ham back in the relegation zone after that defeat. "For Chelsea either. It's turning into a nightmare, Stevie. Well, listen, I think it seems to me that he's wet and a bit long to get away. As soon as Raheem Sterling was sane. But as soon as there was noise that Raheem Sterling was coming, he Chelsea. If I'm him, I'm on the phone in my agent and get me over here. Because that's where he is. I think he's best positioned coming off the left. And so when you were saying in a guy whose best position is coming off the left, guess what? So I think Christian and his advisers should have moved earlier. Right. It seems like they haven't, if they have them, I'm sorry, but these agents is easy to have haven't done a good job for him. Put it that way. Do you agree, Craig? Well, I'm wondering if that was his agent's talking about the stuff we saw a week or two ago about man united, which doesn't seem to have its head, and it was a bit of a head scratching as well at the time. But yeah, an offset for a long time, he needs to go and play. He's not going to there's no point in him because he's going to go last year. Liverpool are interested. He needs to get away from this gauntlet these teams that are challenging for those elite possessions. Where's this level? Which team would you say is about where he should be? He should be playing. I am thinking like a Newcastle, right? A west harm. We saw Jesse Lingard go in there last year and do a terrific job. They've just seen pakista, who's a terrific player. Touching him on the shore. Somewhere I'm scratching my head and we don't want to be going somewhere with all respect. So that didn't have had some great results. But there are selling club. I don't know, Stevie. I mean, whenever they're in a better position than they are, that kind of club. It's definitely put your finger on it because he's never had an actual runner games where you can see right. This is where he is. Right. So we don't really know. You know, he's not had ten games straight, where he's got some form together and you can go away. This guy deserves to be at Chelsea. All this guy deserves to be so far. We don't really know because we haven't seen a consistent run of one. We know what he can do at his best. But I'm falling in the way we also know that he gets injured quite a bit. I think it's tough to be bigger. I think a team like when they were on the up, like Leicester City, for me, some are perfectly having the manager who's on this place on the council at they've got people that Harvey bouncers quite. I also Perez, all these other guys come in, what's his name at Cohen from villa, puts the ball in the box? Do you remember his name? It's been there a while. You know, run up and down the wing. That I think would be a perfect standard for him. Where he's probably going to play 90% of the games, if not more. When you're moving at these clubs at the top end of these leagues, the chances for him of getting regular game time are diminished a lot. Well, of course it will be revealed on Thursday as to whether or not he will remain a Chelsea player as the window closes

"I would say of this current crop probably maybe I don't know. One of the greatest Liverpool sides of all time. That was unbelievable. That would make. And also, but the element of badness in them as well. On chaos. Yeah, so that's the important thing is for a show like winning time, like about the Lakers. Have you been watching it? Yes. I love it. It's great. Now, some of the accuracy of has been called into question, which I'd be lying if I said that didn't affect my enjoyment of it, at least a little bit. But as a show, it's like wildly entertaining. And really fun. The elements of it for it to work are the team has to succeed. Like, I don't know if the show would work if they sucked. And you need characters. Mega personalities. And so Wimbledon has all that. Like, you mentioned Leicester City. I don't know that the personalities are there for that to work. Yeah, they could become caricatures. That's the danger, and also what do you do at Ranieri? Ranieri's an interesting football man, but to sell him as an entertaining character, is a little bit tougher because you can't Jerry West him and have him shots of him making love or drinking cans. In the Leicester City manager's office, launching trophies through plate glass windows. Some of the ones I was thinking about, like I wonder if there would be something interesting about watching the New York cosmos kind of do their thing. Oh yeah. With all those personalities. Well, there's a book. There's a documentary in a book. The book is by Gavin Newsom, once in a lifetime. Yeah. And I'm actually going to go back and read it. Okay. Because it was so good the first time that I read it. But like the other one I was thinking of Studio 54 and that era of New York mixed with those soccer personalities. What they were doing was probably make an interesting dramatic retail messing and Pelé in the clubs. Right. But I was thinking about like, you need some salaciousness, you need some controversy. So I was thinking about 2010 France at the World Cup. But they weren't, but can you make this story work? Yes. They don't win. The story there is, this is a team full of amazing successful footballers. Some of them World Cup winners. And this is how they end up. Walking off the field, just for a training tantrums. I've often said, the Anelka documentary covers some of that, to be honest. That could have been so much better. I enjoyed it. I just reminded me of the madness. Like, who are the person, could any of Mourinho's Chelsea teams or any of those teams? Like, because he is such a personality that like, you could do it, you could make a show like this around him. But are those teams stories interesting enough? I'm sure some of them would be. I think Mourinho's time at rail in Madrid when he was manager there versus Pep Guardiola. Does anyone look back on that Real Madrid team as being like really the showtime Lakers are one of the most famous sports like eras teams in American sports history. Spanish soccer fans look back on the Mourinho Real Madrid side in that kind of way. I don't think so. I mean, you could do one about that Barcelona or 2008 pep years. Yeah, but again, sometimes winning is not too robotic. I don't know if they're like, are they fun enough to make was there enough? The Lakers stuff is crazy. I need that. I don't know. Maybe the Dutch teams of the 70s that came short in world cups that were unbelievable were like you're on crypto. I would like the animals. Every once in a while, we'll throw out a homework assignment. And I would love the animals are good at this. I would love for them to come up with some suggestions on Reddit. Or Twitter or wherever. And send them to us 'cause I feel like I know we're missing some that have to be obvious with just like any of the Brazilian teams with all those personalities. The 98 how about that team that goes all the way to the final and then there's that all bizarre dressing room where did Ronaldo, phenomena? Did he collapse? Did he what happened there? They go out and then they lose three nil to France. I'm going to keep thinking. For the question though, thank you, Braden. Yeah, thanks, Braden. Finally, this is from turkey time. Should the U.S. consider adding Gaga slonina to the World Cup roster. So it doesn't go to Poland's national team. With our current issues and his obvious talent, he could be a fun surprise this winter. Well, if yes, they should. If they should. So you're going to bring him to what's he saying? Oh, bring him to the World Cup. Yeah. So he doesn't go to the Polish national team. There's two things at work here. First of all, if he goes, I missed that part of it. If he goes to the World Cup, he has to start. He has to play it. Otherwise, he won't be captive. Right. And if he goes as a member of the squad, he can still switch because of the new rules. He needs competitive games. The next, what can they do to whoo him? Right, 'cause like playing in the nation's league games. The forthcoming Nations League games. They've got to and he does really well and then the World Cup it's a stretch to say that. It's hard for me to go to that length. Like you don't use the world three keepers. So it's hard to use the World Cup simply as a recruiting tool. Like it's a little too important to be trivialized in that way. There was the picture of him receiving a number one Poland Jersey. Well, Poland apparently are serious about. Oh, yeah, and they're recruiting hard. Right. MLS soccer dot com wrote about it a week or so ago. They said, Selena was called into the U.S. M and T's December camp, it was named to the Concacaf World Cup qualifying roster in the January February window, though he's not appeared in a game. He was one of four goalkeepers called in January, but was not involved in March when conspicuously. The U.S. M and T had only three goalkeepers on the squad. They mentioned Selena was recently named in gold dot com's next gen 2022 list, recognizing the top 50 players born on or after January 1st, 2003. There was a report about Chelsea being interested in him. How about he has a.

Yeah, great work there from Sasha question of the yellow galaxy swapping with Chris haggard of Charlotte FC. "Brendan Rodgers is under pressure at Leicester City and so much of the earlier this week, there were reports that he had been sacked. Now those rumors turned out to be unfounded. Does this make sense to you? Brendan Rodgers should be moving on. Does it make sense whatsoever? He's got to be given the time. I think he was quoted this week as saying some players here have been here too long. Some players lest I think they're better than what they actually are, which is good. Who's he talking about? If you're speculating. Maybe Jamie Vardy. Being there for a long time, there's been many players at Leicester when you look at which I would say, although you've got pattern, that's why you bought Patrick. Exactly. And you've got Ian Nacho. Yeah. So maybe players that have been in around the squad that he thinks have been here too long got too much in my opinion. Manages always fear experienced players when they've got an opinion. I looked at this and I was wondering what he was talking about, right? Who would have that say in the dressing room? He's been there for a long time. But I don't think he's the problem. Cusp has been never quite a while, he's got a big voice. He's got to be so immediate and I'm purely speculating here, Casper, don't get angry with me. I'm not accusing you of anything, but when you hear about this, yeah, you naturally gravitate towards vardi, who's parties it's coming toward the end of the road. It doesn't feel like body would be a problem or kaspar would be a problem. I think if you're going to be like the beverage. It might disagree with you on that one. Well, exactly, but that's the problem with managers. I've played for managers who like experience, they like players that can manage on the pitch. I look at Kashmir Michael being the skip and I think you'll do well at replace him. That's not a problem I would have thought is Leicester's immediate problem. Well, it's interesting. I mean, maybe we don't know what Brendan's thinking, but I personally think. Give him time. Which is the time. He's shown he can do it. The last two years weren't an illusion. They're real. And I know that last year spent a lot of money, but we've also had a tremendous amount of injuries. I think this season as well. Tiananmen contract situation hasn't helped. It seems like an odd one, unless there's something behind the scenes that we don't know. He's dealing with a lot, isn't he? Brendan's trying to deal with a lot to try and get less stuff aware. They think they want to be who have just missed out on top four two seasons on the spin. With experienced players, tielemans is gone ridiculously below his standards, because he contracts up, I think in 18 months time and he's nowhere near the player. He was. So they've got to get going. Otherwise they're going to finish when they've had injuries because you have for fauna there the whole year. I think they have an extra 6 or 7 points on the table. That's just my view. So yeah, it's a weird one. Well, the answer to this question, I think I've got a feeling gab is going to blow my mind. So this is your wafer of named socios as their official fan token. What a fan token. Okay. What is it? So you might have seen this, people tie this in with blockchain and crypto and NFTs. And when you don't know what this is, yeah, but to make this very simple. So let's use a company that have been around a few years. They're based in Malta. They have deals with 53 different clubs, including some clubs in the Premier League. There are other clubs who are in that same space. So the concept behind fan tokens is pretty simple. Although you might say, well, why would I buy that? Yeah. So essentially, you as a fan, you want to show your fandom, so you buy a token. And these tokens are virtual tokens. It's almost think of it as buying a share, but it's secured secured by blockchain technology. It's effectively it's non fungible. So you buy this token, which you can then sell, you can keep. It's not a share in the sense that you don't get voting rights on the club board. But to incentivize fans to buy these things, you can vote on certain things decided by the club. So for example, arsenal are a good example of this. I think they allow fans to vote 6 times a year and things. They might be things like, what music should the club come out to when they go on the pitch? Or which of these third or fourth strips do you like best? I mean, they're not gonna be like, you know, does these cost fortunes? Well, that's the thing. They don't cause very much initially. But the idea is that they can be traded that they go up and down. They said, I think right now there's a lot of people out there who don't understand crypto. And so they see this because it's so volatile. They see it as a scam, there's environmental concerns with Bitcoin mining, but this isn't Bitcoin. You know, blockchain and cryptocurrency are two different things. You can't educate yourself on this thing. Enough people at home a lot is. What is going on in my concerns would be sausages have spent an enormous amount of money on marketing and doing these deals, which obviously, you know, if you watched enter, the sponsor was inter, fan token, right? For me, I don't understand why you would buy this. Sausages say that you buy this because these clubs are global brands. If you're in another part of the world, and you want to feel part of it, other than watching the games on television and maybe buying a shirt online. This is another way you can do it. And you can vote uncertain things. My point is, unless you're a Muppet, if I'm voting on irrelevant things, why would I do it? People have raised a specter of what they call pump and dump schemes and speculation and manipulating the prices of these tokens to rip fans off. I don't think it's that. I don't think we're at that stage on the way. I've seen any evidence of it. It's new, I think this is the kind of thing that only works if people buy into it. I don't know. I'm skeptical, but again, if you're a proud owner of a Celsius fan token of your club and you love your experience, reach out to us on social media. Reach out to me, I'd love to hear from you. Now, I don't think you're going to make top four. But I think we need to show some love to wolves and it's difficult for me to say because I have a major problem with the people who own the club and obviously the fact that they also co own GST food, which is run by George Mendes. However, they're playing very good football, much better for people than employing the last year. They didn't necessarily make any major signings in the summer. I mean, they brought in Huang and entering Kyle, but I don't think that's what moves the needle for them. So I think I got to give a lot of props. A lot of praise to Bruno larger, who I think he's been really, really good. Nothing he's been exceptional. I think he's gone under the radar. At the very start of the season or certainly when he came in, there was signs where the XG for walls were quite high. Oh, sorry, they also got a new goalkeeper to replace repatriation. I watched wolves and I think best defensive record in the Premier League so you see the amount of work that he's doing. That's time on the training ground. That's time on the grass, Max Kellerman. I think it's in brilliant form..

Will Liverpool, Leicester or Chelsea Qualify for the UCL?

"Let's start at. What was i think. Effectively may not turn out to be this way chelsea could still go out but a play off for the champions league between chelsea and leicester city it's bridge was a replay of the game on saturday. Then you have a cup final Homemade some not all of the same choices including putting my man reese james in the back three convince And chelsea one. I think in the end it was to wind. And you could say maybe you're gonna start at the end but i thought chelsea really really dominated the day. That was their god. They were after they were really fantastic at times. In the way they build up the movement away from the back under pressure at times. I still alice the plate for draw. And maybe i'm wrong. Maybe that's not. That was the idea. But he's certainly felt like that in in the team that selected with natural on the bench in the way they played in the weather priced. Look to me via merged lockheed. Very happy with that was fair well. Madison came in. So we can have madison. I thought was really poor. I don't think he's fully fit. Maybe no he's on your hard if you play for a draw to to have my against a team like this against him chetty like this to to to expect too much from madison. Nothing the upshot of all this is that we're set up for one of those end of the season kinda three way runs but three-way dances chelsea are playing away to aston villa. A win guarantees them. A champions league. Place is only going to be easy at all we'll get on to this lester. I'm liverpool liverpool beating burnley three now essentially if they both way and they're gonna finish level on points it's going to be decided by goal difference and liverpool now have an edge of four goals in the goal difference so so liver put up again chris perez. That's right liverpool roy. Hodgson his final his final game. He loved to put one over liverpool and less spurs. Who can still still have to play for your petty place. Yeah so clearly lester. Leicester City coming to terms with tragedy

"L correspondent Samantha holy hasn't been in London long, and she's still very much settling in but already she's had a major football initiation in the face of a tragedy that deeply affecting one of the clubs that club is listed city, which until recently was heading towards administration, then Thai billionaire put millions into the club, and there was a fairytale turnarounds. So after a helicopter crash at a match England's love of football became even clearer cement, the holy fouled is. Six degrees at Claven cottage little football stadium with a history. Dating back over three hundred years originally a Royal hunting lodge. It's now home for the Fulham football club on the banks of the river tames on the lung the twenty five thousand people who've come along to watch the match. The name. It's move for you experience. Rather than the superman. The crowds are noisy, but will behaved no alcohol allowed in the stadium. So most Gaza was much beer as they can before they enter and then again at half time. The passion is very real and the crowd enthusiastic. In the end it was an enjoyable after noon out, but at fifty pounds or around ninety dollars a ticket. I doubt I'll be back. But my deduction to England's love of football returns in the evening when I'm at home a helicopter owned by the head of list of city football club has crashed after a match in the city. I begin filing from helicopter crashed after a football. And we jump on a train and head to the city in a way, I feel my past and current life. Have for a brief moment collided. I'm reminded immediately of my time living in Thailand, the Thai billionaire bought the list of city club in twenty ten was down and out and hitting the administration. He plowed millions of dollars into the club and the community to bring about a fairytale turnaround. The club won the premiership in twenty sixteen and if. Was in any doubt that the Brits feel deeply about the sports outside the stadium where we stood in the freezing cold. They kept coming through the day and night, we've flowers balloons club t shirts and scarves, the makeshift memorial. Just hit on growing to see everything. You know, what it's because you know, such story pose at the game last night and of which will give a half an hour later on and I've been one of the tod stiles actually come out stadium from. So it's really sad is just as amazing for someone personally know yet the such a connection there. And how is because you part of the communities will do which hospitals around here, which is so sad because of the people involved to just pay respects for visits to the owner and the rest of people on board. Let's impeach Herbie impact on the community must've, well, unless it must have been passed same as when it came to the obviously we will lead. Where he's to the club is to shock to shocking. Who's is so much to the city the Termine and the the whole of firmly and awful. So with the firmly at this time, so that's basically from down two loss to the northern. How community everybody's feeling that so many people don't ever suppose, so many flowers, we've just put some flowers down in the shirt of it will shirt, you know, so basically the communities devastate further, and so I'm not a football lover. But I know is a journalist. It's important for me to understand why British people love football. And why it means so much to them? And I think I have a better understanding of that. This is Samantha holy in London for correspondence for.

English Premier League, Leicester City Community And Sereda discussed on GSMC Sports Podcast

"To English Premier League title in six years, which is one of the most incredible feats ever -ccomplish in the sport. And sadly there owner, and I'm probably going to pronounce his name wrong Vishay. Sereda, Dan, proba he he has passed away as his helicopter leaving the stadium after their win after their draw the other night when up and came down not sure if there's a mechanical failure, but the helicopter crashed just one hundred yards or so a few hundred yards from the stadium itself after leaving from the center of the stadium. He has passed away him and four other. So sad news. They're they're very very upsetting and the soccer community in the English Premier League community, but our thoughts go out to his family and to the Leicester City community they suffered through this tragedy. We'll see what they do what the league does want. The team does to honor him a man from Thailand who who bought the team in two thousand and ten and again port a lot of money into the club made them relevant and made them champions. Which is the most incredible thing I've personally ever witness in the English Premier League. So his legacy will at least be known for that. Yeah. It's a very sad time in the world of sports.

"To all with Crystal Palace. Iran. Thrashed Real Madrid five one in L classic with the future of manager Yulia. And is now in serious doubt rail now ten in Lalita and in baseball Boston Red Sox the wraps on a dominating season with a five one win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in game five of the World Series. The Red Sox are killed their full title in fifteen years James more from James in twenty five minutes. In the meantime, let's talk about the computer giant IBM spending thirty four billion dollars to buy a software company that gives away its products for free business presented this morning. In Hong Kong is Andrew would Andrew what's this all about? Well, he doesn't give away all of the products for free. It gives away the key products. You remember the old thing they used to say is if you give them an official feed him for a day, if you give them if you teach a man to fish and you'll feed him for life. The capitalist version is you can also sell him fishing equipment. You can sell him magazines fishing. You can send him about theme holidays and conferences, and it's a bit like that with red hat, which is the company that IBM is board at the key to its business is the Lennox operating system which has been around for a couple of decades now, and it's no fun source software, and it's free. It's basically being put together by volunteers. So the problem is with the with the software is that because it's being put together volunteers. There isn't really anything like a company you can ring up or help desk. If you've got problems with Lennon's so company like red hat comes in and says, well, we'll solve your problems with lenox. We'll we'll adapts it. If you need it be we can debunk it. We come come connect you to other computer systems, and so on so red hat makes a lot of money out of that. It's also into cloud computing as well now IBM is the deal is worth thirty four billion IBM's worth. About one hundred ten billion on the stock market. So this is quite a big deal in terms of expanding the size of IBM rather. It's quite a big big takeover that might take a bit of time to digest IBM gets access to an awful lot more technology services. And traditionally IBM was very very good at coming up with big computers and lots of software and selling them a rather renting them to people. And so in a way, this is actually going backwards to what the IBM was like thirty forty years ago. Very good at coming up with software, which you can sell services rented out in effect, pay subscriptions and get cash again. And again and again. Yes. So IBM kind of coming full circle. Thank you. Andrea. That's our business presented this morning. Andrew would and as you may have had in the news throughout the last couple of days funds of LeicesteR Leicester City football club in Britain has confirmed. The chairman of the club died when his helicopter crushed outside the stadium on Saturday evening. All four people on board were also killed. Funds have been laying clubs shots and messages of support. Also the team stadium. Mr. VJ as was famously helped to put together a team which ton Waldron at one of the Premier League in two thousand sixteen at odds of five thousand to one at tell us more bottom and how he made his fortune that ended up in LeicesteR city's George McCloud who's a political risk consultant based in Bangkok. And you started his business is all right, George. Yes. That's correct. Now, would you would you say that he was immensely wealthy? He was he was a extremely wealthy businessman. His net worth was estimated at over three three billion US three point three billion. And speaking to my colleague Jonathan head not too long ago. He says that he wasn't that. Well known. In Thailand until he bought Leicester City. No, he was you know, he I I would say he was a figure of some controversy as well. He he he obtained a very lucrative duty free concession for Thailand's airports, which obviously did attract attention, but. His his acquiring of of the Leicester City football club sort of propelled him to to a new level, you know, locally as well, obviously internationally and what we've seen with other. Thai wealthy people. Not least should know what ended up in politics, but he stayed out into. Well, you know, formerly speaking he did. But behind the scenes, he's he's he's been incredibly active, politically, I'd say that that he stands apart in that sense. A lot of businessmen in Thailand try to deliberately steer clear of politics. He's been very active financing various sides of the political spectrum depending on I guess who's in power at the time. He's switched sides a number of times, then proved very dexterous at at navigating the difficult political system here, why Lester city of all the teams why did he pick it? Well, I mean for for one thing it was you know, it was an underdog team. And I think he set his sights on on, you know, wiping it into shape, which which he did very well. I mean, the shows a high level of sort of business acumen on his part and. It was very much a down de project. He he's as I say very wealthy, but he doesn't come from one of the legacy wealthy families here. And he was always struggling to gain acceptance in those circles, and I think acquiring that football club was partly intended for for that level of acceptance. So how will ties be reacting to his death? Well, there's obviously shock over this grief over this because he is possibly, you know, the the only figure in this country that's managed to internationalize himself to that degree. But you know, of course, I don't think people are in the under any illusions that they that he has been a figure of controversy as well. Good to talk to you. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts with us. We've been speaking to George McLeod who is a political risk consultant based in Bangkok. So.
