What It's Really Like to Be a Truck Driver

"My understanding is that there's a lot of turnover among drivers too. So you know trucks might get worn out after three years. Drivers might get worn out in even less time and leave the industry altogether. Could you maybe describe. How desirable is being a truck driver as an occupation. At the moment so joe and i talked about how we both have this sort of romanticize view of it could you may be Tell us what it's really like. And how it stacks up against the money that you're actually being paid to do it. At the moment the realities are quite different in your romanticized Of the it is a tough job. So if you're an owner operator you'll make in this market because the demand is so high you quite well. You probably would net one hundred thousand dollars as a employee driver. You're probably going to be making about fifty five to sixty thousand dollars as an employee driver per year and you're going to be paid on a per mile basis. You're gonna you're gonna run your trot kurt or drive or work about fifty six hours on a given week. It's not a forty hour week. Actually working fifty six hours. But here's the reality is. You're not at home every single night. The vast majority of the driver attraction out and so while you may not be on duty that fifty six hours in a given week. You're you're still at a truck You're still dealing with over the road. So it's it's a really. It creates a lot of strain on families A lot of strain on people. It takes a special kind of person to want a life where they're out in the road. It's it's a job that's very dangerous is one of the most dangerous jobs in america. It's a job that has very a high occupational issues in terms of health. You're sitting in a truck for you know you're driving for eleven hours a day. You're sitting which you know drivers have high incidence of obesity diabetes so it's not a great lifestyle And for all those reasons. It's not a desirable job for for a large percent of the population. And unfortunately the industry salaries have not kept up with a lot of the competitive industries which they compete for labor like warehousing construction other types of industries which sent a poll the same labor force

"The film at all or the the show notes wherever you're free to use whatever i don't care but you know it was. We were there. And i could see what was happening. And it was a lot of the support that came in the rallies that was thousands. If not certainly hundred thou- lot of people there and are marching to a lot of those were friends. I could see him. We were at the events. We were broadcast that big rally in the heat. You know we had our boots. They're broadcasting and so on and what happened was It was a ron paul evolution ron paul. People recognize this for what it was. We made a big deal out of it and they showed up they. Do we go to court site in one hundred and twenty degree weather. So i think the city they freaked in house when they're like damn we got something he started. Burn computers and paper or something and you talk about. Dennis wagner from there isn't republic. I've known dennis for a long time. And he's like goodness guy but he wants to. He wants to keep his job and what was going on in court site was a mini version of exactly what goes on everywhere. This is not over and that's a big criticism of this documentary. That i got is like this is not ninety near over you scratching the surface and you kind well and now in peace be upon. The america needs to know at the time. We were doing everything we could to try and convince america that this stuff even went on. No cops are good. Cops never do that. That and then here comes videotape. Everybody's got a video camera in your phone now. So i'm going. You know here we go. This is a good example of it. There's gotta be more. i mean. come on tile. this is not you. You didn't end on this high note because that's the truth. Why did you do that. So you're absolutely right You know especially around that time social media was coming out. Video cameras were becoming cheaper and more accessible. That's really what this story on. Its head and i was able to showcase that because of that access And you're also right about the the story not being done. There's still rumblings. There's still a lot depending on depending on who you talk to. Of course the perspective always just getting started. Fyi you have no idea. When donna and i get back to arizona we're going to kick off a lot of stuff. It started court size. Example of here it comes. Get your cameras ready. And i wanna i wanna tell that story. I can't really reveal a whole lot. But i i can. I can reveal that. I have a hell of a lot. More of the story to tell Just they just need more funding to do that. Pose hoping to have the assets bought at the film festival circuit. Which is you know you make a film festival film. You need to have closure and so i definitely run through on that closure. But you're right. There's more to the story and i want to get that out so hopefully some of your listeners. Go onto the website and support and At least share. And get the word out about it. I want to tell the story. And all the assets to it so well is this the final version or you got other stuff being ad or you know what now this is. Just this is just a feature It took me two years to squeeze all the footage down into a feature. But i've got at least six episodes of the film of a of a mini series documentary. That i'd like to release. I want to release that on. You know netflix. Hulu all the state. What would be your budget. What what do you need net flicks to give you a shitload of money. What so the seizure cost me just over one hundred thousand so you can imagine. That's you know about three times. What the The budget that was would would be needed to cover the full actual six episodes of a mini series. So three hundred to three hundred fifty thousand in the big release version of whatever. Don't leave it hanging like this because nobody's gonna it's over. No it's not over. It just started right. I miss my suggestion man. I'm telling you because. I get more support than they knew you were going to reveal. What really happened. Well there's a lot there and I believe the truth is The only real way to build up to what really happened is to tell the story of the lawsuits. And tell how the there's mob connection there's bombing connections out in phoenix. There's there's a guy in florida. That i have no access to that i would have access to if i was able to move forward with the asset. There's all kinds of things that are sort of hinging on that. I can't reveal names because there are there are complications. There's hundreds of millions of dollars involved. Why You Should Seek out Marginal Weather Days for Flight Training

"What's up wally. Bobby how are you fantastic. This week. We're taking on a topic that i've thought a lot about. I know we've talked about it more than once. But we are going to talk about why you as a student of whatever you're at and your aviation career should seek out marginal weather days with a flight instructor. Absolutely i think I i worked on my instrument. Now it's been almost three years ago Speaking of three years ago yesterday was my three year anniversary of buying this place all right. Well congratulations thanks. So about three. Years ago i finished my instrument rating or so but While i was in training the instructor that i had was really adamant that we get some extra time. And i've spoken about it. I was really an apprehensive pilot Young in my aviation career. I didn't feel real comfortable with everything. I that's just kind of scared me but i think the fact that he was so adamant that we do it and then we got it. While i was training for my instrument with some of the most valuable time i ever got. I believe when i took my check with you. I had something like eight hours of actual time which to someone listening. Who's not there yet my nothing but how many hours do you have to have wally to take your check. Ride in actual conditions zero. Wow zero actual time to qualify for an instrument rating got up forty hours of instrument. time all of which can be Simulated under the hood wearing a fogle or whatever view limiting device. You choose and some of it can be in a simulator. It's you know i. I use a little analogy of and this is not really totally accurate but You know if if you wanted to someone to play football you wouldn't teach him how to play basketball and say here's the ball. Go play football. You know you'd you'd actually show how to play football the better when there might be. You don't do all your learning playing flag football and then go play. Division one tackle football.

"They put into the system and rate drivers in great careers and there are some not so great drivers and not so great careers who then designed to self select to do something else. So that's one of the cool things about an open system use sensually earn relative to your productivity as well but the flexibility is by far the most important factor. Yeah and it now if you look at it there was this whole concept that if uber drivers are lift driver's door drivers or any ridesharing drivers were going to be classified as employees. Well what about hairdressers and real estate brokers and freelance writers. I'm in the media business. A lot of The same publications that were giving ride sharing companies hard time. My friendship bank off runs. Vox had to cancel because had some of those rights had to cancel every freelancer in california. Because if the freelancer worked over x. Number of hours now triggered full-time and it cost chaos. So they just opted out of that market so where is the united states as a country and obviously uber endured ash. I think are kind of having to navigate this most of all. Where are we with this archaic system where either full time or you're a freelancer. But with this caveat. If you're a freelancer and unless you're you know got a really great lobby or you're an elite freelance like a real estate person. You're you can have freedom but the people may be who are. Starting their chris can have freedom. It seems incredibly un-american to me that people can make their choice but putting that aside is there a third way. That's better that's what we always talked about in the early days of uber was there has to be a third way here because you know that would seem more equitable. Maybe if somebody works over twenty or thirty hours. I know you've been reading on this pretty hard. And that's that's actually that's third way is what we're trying to shake now and to a large extent. That was what prop twenty two in california was all about. Which is how do you retain the best of both worlds right the the really cool thing about being your own boss. You're the ceo of yourself and you get to be totally flexible based on when where how you were based on productivity. They're good times to work right there. Good ways to work as well. But how do you combine that with some of the important elements of kuala traditional work which is a safety net protection healthcare coverage etc and. That's what we call an icy plus ashes the uk. There's a third designation. There's there's worker designation. And then there's fulltime employee and worker is is essentially an icy plus pension benefits some vacation benefits etc and in the uk we have designated drivers essentially workers. And now we are in the process of having discussions really on a state by state level is a needs. Every states needs are different. These are workers in the states to hopefully come up with us. Third model flexibility of an i see the freedom of an i see with protections whether it's minimum wage or a fun for healthcare or other benefits as well and i think it is the better way forward it takes time you know Government sometimes move slowly but by design. But i do think this is a better way forward and pretty optimistic independent contractor status with me if i hit a certain benchmark is there a certain benchmark. You're thinking because i think the average number of hours for full time employment is two thousand pretty easy if you wanna do this at home. Fifty two hours a week. Forty hours twenty eight years the number of hours per year. So if somebody did one thousand forty hours that would be halftime. Therefore they could get half the benefits as a full-time person doesn't seem so difficult for us to comprehend. We're actually not looking at it benchmark because to some extent but he picked twenty hours thirty hours forty hours. I think those are the kind of picking it out of your at indexing right. Which is if you work funny hours. And ninety percent of drivers for example work less than forty hours right like the vast majority of drivers the vast majority of couriers were far less than forty hours but basically index the benefits based on. How long you and the other. I think cool idea. Is you pull together the hours that you put into all the platforms. Hopefully it's an ideology benefits. Which i think is really cool right. Which is hey if you if it's just based on how long you worked for one company And how many hours you uber or door should cetera. That's one solution. It's and it's not a bad solution. I think that's some are gonna go in that direction. There's another concept which is portable benefits. That if you work hours over. Let's say ten hours on lift. You actually get benefits worth of twenty hours so that freedom to to work with multiple platforms. I think both ideas are good ideas. And hopefully you know depending on a state by state level which is the right idea. We'll go forward that way. Yeah and i think people are forgetting that you are one hundred percent dependent on drivers. There is no business without drivers. It's in your best interest. In fact i would think it's your obsession to make this a better to for them than other opportunities they might be presented is am i correct in thinking that your competition is people working at a starbucks or a target or walmart versus deciding to be an icy or an icy plus code totally and and drivers are our customers right. We have a driver app. We we run that app just like we run our rider app and it's in our interest to track the customer to give them a great experience for their earnings.

"Joe six trillion dollar man massive spending and Yeah let's hide all the power grab moves. Maneuvers were doomed behind the scenes. That didn't come up much last night. Door to the border come up last night. Either very interesting but six trillion dollars and that's just the down payment climate change. I think jobs american jobs plan put engineers and construction workers work building more energy efficient buildings and homes there simply no reason why the blades for wind turbines can't be building pittsburghers beijing. There's no reason. Why american workers can't league the world new production of electric vehicles in batters. There's no reason. How do we pay for my and family plan. I made it clear you do without increasing the deficit. Let's start with what. I will not to impose any tax increase on people making less than four hundred thousand dollars. But it's time for corporate america and the wealthiest one percent of americans have just began to pay their fair share. Mr share but wall street country. The middle class built the country and unions built the middle class. So that's why. I'm calling on congress to pass. Protect the right to organize the proactive. And send it to my desk so we can support the right to unionize and by the way you're thinking about sending things on my desk. Let's raise the minimum wage to fifteen dollars. No one no one working forty hours a week working forty hours a week should live below the poverty line. We need to ensure greater inequity opportunity for women while we're doing this. Let's get the paycheck fairness act to my desk as well. Equal pay spent much too long. And if you wonder whether it's too long look behind you

The Truth About Poker Staking

"Was a point many years ago now where i went to the world series and a friend gave me some money to play with and i had my own mind but he wanted to take me in so we picked certain events. I think for and so like i didn't cash like the first like seven of them or something like that so that was fairly deep in the hole and i remember realizing like oh i have to have a big score just to make even a little bit of money on this deal now so now of course you want to be playing for the big score anyway but it means i'm going to be higher various than otherwise would be. I'm going to gamble it up more. And i'm gonna gamble up more or be more high variance than i think is optimal because for me it is but for the like. That's not good. That's not good but it still might be a plus spot for the. I think it probably was. Don't get me wrong is a tough one. I mean people have solved this way better than i have. I have. I have staked players in the past. I know you have to sure we've done it together. It's we've won we've lost doing. I had one individual vendor. They want really well for me. They guided me against but it worked out really well for me about five years ago but anyway doesn't matter. Point is like it's tough to know how to structure it to make the incentives perfect. So you don't get screwed. Is the backer really really tough. Makeup seems necessary but if somebody's in the whole for twenty binds and they feel like they're just like i have no income and i'm supposed to spend like forty hours a week playing for you but i have to give it all to you so you have to come up with some structure where they get some of the backup. It's like a partial makeup deal but then it can take forever to get your money out in makeup deals. It's it's it's

A Record-Breaking Flare From Sun's Nearest Stellar Neighbour

"Astronomers have detected one of the most violent still aflame ever recorded in the galaxy exploding out of proxima centauri the nearest star system that the sun the massive flare reported in the estra physical journal is the largest ever recorded coming from proxima centauri a small special tie. Game red dwarf star located just four point two five light years away. Proxima centauri has twelve percent the mass and fourteen percent the radius of the sun. It is a surface temperature of thousand seven hundred and seventy seven degrees celsius and is better thousand times less luminous than the sun. it's known to have. At least two orbiting planets one of which proxima b. is similar in size to the earth and orbits within the star's habitable zone. That's the region around a star with temperatures would allow liquid water central for life as we know it to exist on the planet. Surface red dwarfs are the most common type of star in the milky way galaxy making up about three quarters of all the stars in the galaxy. And because they're relatively dim it's easy to find orbiting except planets around them consequently the most common known source of exoplanets. And for this reason proximus story has long been a target for scientists have been defined life beyond the solar system. However there's always been a problem with red dwarf stars and that includes proxima centauri. They produce violent flares spilling out huge amounts of energy and plasma into the surrounding space. Eventually this would erode away any atmosphere around by planet. A would also radiate anything on the planet surface and that includes any hope of finding life on the surface of proxima b. The study's lead author assistant professor mcgregor from the university of colorado. Boulder says red dwarfs flare a lot more than stars like the sun and astronomers are only now beginning to understand the magnitude and character of their flays mcgregor and colleagues observed proxima centauri for forty hours using nine ground and space based telescopes including the square kilometer. Ray pathfinder as gap nassar's hubble space telescope the atacama large millimeter submillimeter array radio telescope alma and nasa transiting exoplanet survey satellite tests. This marked the first time. Astronomers have had this kind of multi wavelength coverage of a stellar flare.

The Truth About How to Choose the Ideal Business Accountant with Maxine Stern

"Startups and small businesses don't have much experience with professionals in the counting field. And that's why. I think it's important for them to understand what a certified public accountant is. What is well. I let me just back up and tell you what a person has to do to become a cpa as you know. There are many people in your community who work on taxes when we think of as the first thing we think of is someone who can prepare our taxes. But i hope. I'll lay out for you so many other ways that a cpa can help your business. There are many other people that can help you if you just need tax preparation but i think all businesses could use the experience. That cpa's had doing their work so the qualifications to become a cpa vary by state. They're generally the same but each state will have the details a little bit differently. I is an educational component their courses that all accountants take in accounting rules and procedures auditing management accounting tax law general business loss finance and very important one in business ethics. And i believe that's a more recent addition to the curriculum because there's been emphasis in the more recent years on having a profession. That's much more honest and open to people looking inside and seeing what they're doing anyway there's an educational component these days in many states. You have to have a master's degree to become a cpa. That was not the case until recently. Now there's also an experience component which varies by state and a national exam and then when a person qualifies by passing all those areas They have to register with their state. Licensing board to keep an active license. You have to renew it annually. And in north i think it's great that Everyone has to do forty hours of continuing education so that it keeps you up on all of the laws and in addition. You have to attest that you've had no convictions. In the court of law and ethical breaches in the past year given that you might wanna hire a cpa. That's what you'll be getting. I'd like to go over the ways of cpa can help you and your business when someone starts business a cpa can be a huge help. If you have an idea for a business or you think of what you wanna create one of your first conversation should be with a certified public accountant as many of you know everyone really needs to keep track of the business finances but there are many other ways that the cpa can help you first of all along with an attorney the cpa can help you. Think about the best structure for your business. That is whether you want to set up a limited liability company or a partnership or a corporation and the cpi should have experience so that he can he or she can say well. If you set up a partnership these might be your problems down the road or if you set up a corporation. Are you sure that this is what you wanna do for the future of your business. So that's a very interesting conversation. And once you decide that the cpa can help you in making a business. Plan particularly the Financial analysis because of that very important to figure out all aspects of the startup of the business and projecting the business into the future. So i would really recommend that. And then the cpa can also provide you with advice on the type of accounting software. You might want to have in your business and when you decide on a cpa. It may be important to have a conversation about whether that your software will interact with the one that the cpa's firm uses so that tax preparation will be quicker and more accurate and much cheaper. That's a very important thing to decide right in the beginning. Of course when you start your business you have to open a business bank account these. Cpa can help you in the business. Make sure that all of your procedures for your money. And for their revenues coming in and the expenses going out are set up so that they'll be easy to track and so that there's set up in a way that minimizes the possibility of fraud because the business owner is usually not the one who has his or her hands on all of the business procedures for example payroll for example paying bills and in the accounting world. The procedures that will help you protect your assets in the business are called internal controls and so if a your procedures is set up in a particular way it makes it much more difficult for anyone handling finances to steal the money of the business. I know that you go into business. You don't think about that. You don't think about an employee or a friend of an employee taking advantage of the good business that you have but this is very very common particularly in small businesses. When you have a one person performing multiple roles. I just think it's extremely important in the beginning to have a cpa. Just look over what you've set up and give you some pointers pudding that extra time and money into setting up business might help you protect thousands of dollars

Salt Lake Citys two sustainable fire stations

"Dr anthony leiserowitz and this is climate connections fire. Department's mission is to protect people's lives and property and in salt lake city utah. The fire department prioritizes sustainability to we want to be part of the solution to our energy crisis and our environmental challenges that we have. We're always looking to minimize the carbon footprint. Active all our fire facilities that fire. Chief karl leib. He says the city opened two new fire stations in two thousand eighteen. Each has three hundred rooftop solar panels and geothermal heating and cooling now the city's installing even more solar panels at one of the stations with the goal of making it net zero that means it will produce at least as much energy as it uses and the firefighters like being there. It's really a home for the firefighters. They're there for forty hours straight. They eat their sleep there. And they feel very comfortable in these stations. And they're proud to be occupying these buildings. The buildings cost more to build than a typical fire station but there are also far more efficient with led lighting high performance windows in folding doors that minimize heat loss. So leap says the investment will pay off over time and energy savings and for the climate.

"Cutoffs were great. It got to the right altitude. It belly flopped. It did little flippy thing that little whoop the pendulum. Perfect landing didn't go too well. But that's okay. They cleaned it up. They cleaned up all the methodists and eight made and nasty one launch s at nine. It's about three weeks ago. The doesn't eight was launched. But now they want to launch s nine on friday and they literally just poured the new pad from where decimated the original landing pad. They just did it less than forty hours ago. so what. the heck spacex crazy in a good way. So we're just waiting waiting just like everybody else is out there to see what's going to happen. So what to expect from this launch okay. So we know that s and went to twelve point five k. We know that the engines worked pretty good is good as they could for the first launch. Test great okay. We know everything already stated before everything great. So what are they gonna do with us at nine compared to and we've been having discussions back and forth about what's going to happen how they're going to launch this thing. How high they're going to launch this thing. What to do. During the process we came up with a few simple things. Well i guess one simple thing which is do the same thing you did with us at eight because you have to prove that you can do that and land properly. So they're barely any differences between us at eight and i said nine. There's a little bit of shielding right. So reentry shielding for nine a tiny bit. But they don't really need to test it they just have to make sure that it works in that it can withstand the withstand the bellyflop basically and not fly off not not burn up or anything like that. I'm sure it'll be fine but the landing is what they need to stick because we want to see basically. We want to see the landing. Everyone wants to see the landing. It's going to be really great if it does happen. And then with this test article if they're done with this and they get everything perfect doesn't have to be perfect. Perfect could be pretty close to perfect..

You're incest or motherland heritage heritage and this is one of those really awful onset just does not feel good in that. So this is finland and basically there's data breach and the records of thousands psychotherapy patients were compromised. Which is bad enough company. How do you say best best team. A has more finished than i am. I'm bush demo a the largest private psychotherapy center treating forty thousand. Patients doesn't say if that's like continuous overall but either way it's a lot of people and someone got in and now So some of the stuff got was leaked online. So you could probably. I'm guessing dark web. Everything but patients started getting contacted and then blackmailed. they don't pay don't pay that their information from these reports would be released which could be absolute nonsense. I think it was like two years ago. There was a breach and I got a bunch of emails for like these accounts that i must have had ten ten years prior like. Hey we have your information from this account. We know the stuff that you're into and you need to pay us five hundred dollars or we're going to release it and i was like pull the trigger. Don't care for stuff. I don't care anyways like i. I live a public life go nuts. Let's see what you can find. I would be curious to see what you actually find. And of course. They don't respond but it looked very legitimate. And there was other folks that i know because i think it was. It was through my school email and there was other folks. I know that god it and freaked out anything you think the school got popped. I think i don't know if the school got popped or it was like know they had like Maybe like an alumni email or something that had gotten picked up You know the message is pretty generic. It wasn't like you know it had no other information other than first and last name and email address. I don't even. I don't even know if it had the last name that i think about it but it was like. Hey zach this is blah from you know here and then sure enough in a week. I got another one that was like we're giving you forty eight hours before we release the information. Of course like do it. Don't wait forty hours chickens. Doing they didn't do it then. I got like literally a weekly there was like twenty four hours. I'm like come on all right. This is giving me an extension sir. We noticed that you haven't complied with our demands and we're giving you an extension of the courtesy of the dark web customer service. It's like the warranty service. The rangers get those phone calls constantly. Yeah yeah so You know who knows if it's legitimate or if it's just you know people are like i'm gonna release your i mean the but then again like what do you risk like if you feel like you've got your best state vast demo. Yeah bashed on mo version vashem domino. If you've got stuff on there that you i would hope in. Therapy are allowed to be fairly Well i think. I mean in in this case leaked tucker calls himself ransom random and ransom underscore man's running foresight. Which is already leaked therapists. Session notes from three hundred patients Some of the victims are underage. Say he's also approach he or she has approached patients demanding ransom of two hundred euros from them. Which is going to increase to five hundred dollars if they do not pay within twenty four hours and then the attackers but also reportedly demanded a four hundred and fifty thousand euros in bitcoin. Bush namo which is Interest like again like in in their ceo got fired yes to which rightfully so. Maybe i don't know i. It doesn't go into the details. Exactly how this guy release but You know to have all of those files with like a correlated with people's names and information probably means that they either didn't really have any sort of security. It was just like in a folder somewhere. Or i mean it's that's pretty egregious and it's i mean i don't know it's epa what's is there's got to be a european version of hip you know so there's probably regulatory issues that are gonna come. I mean this is. This is like the worst case scenario.

"Show. I'm joined today by ace spiel. If you've ever seen the pictures or the videos of a seven forty seven carrying the space shuttle on its back aces the guy flying that he's a nasa pilot. It's really cool having you with us today as thank you so much for being with us. Thank you george. It's a real pleasure being here. Thanks for having me. You're willing to tell us how you got your start in aviation well. My interest probably probably started with my dad who is a world war two pilots who have six hell cats in the pacific right. He was a fighter. Ace jot down. Seven zero sank destroyer so that that probably would what's first introduced me aviation muscle lived in the san francisco bay area and i can always. We could see quite often from where we live going up. Point the final approach for san francisco international airport. So i've really enjoyed watching the airplanes. Come in and that just kind of got me interested in aviation basically so i assume that with your dad as an ace after the war where people were there a lot of adulation or was it kind of a a normal thing to be ace. Well i don't think it was a normal thing. I think a lot of people were proud of it for that but but as time went on it became something more within the family that you know we we. We knew he was guy we thought of him as kind of a hero in his flying endeavors and listening to stories was a lot of fine. You know sure so. Wendy take your first flying lesson first. Flying lesson in nineteen sixty. Seven is my first year in college. I graduated from high school. And i was interested in the asian so i wasn't sure you know exactly what i was going to study. The only college in california that offered a four year degree in in Aviation was san jose state but that was in business administration the the college of san mateo community college. They had a two year. Course that specialized the end basic training to be a pilot studied aerodynamics amex navigation in urology and stuff in in in one of the three hundred courses was actually forty hours of flying a cessna down to san carlos airport so i thought this is the perfect way to get going and so i enrolled in that program guy solo to november of nineteen sixty seven eighteen. Okay now did you. Did you collect ratings right away. After that i got my private and the course led to a commercial a rating but after about the first three semesters i kinda realizing that. This is really what i want to do. My goal is to become an airline pilot. And i knew it'd be an airline pilot. That i was gonna actually need my adp. And soft. and i was going to need to accumulate. You know quite a bit of experience. So i kind of decided you know. I'm not going to spend any more money trying to get my commercial because right now. Let's talk to serve me. 'cause i plan on getting a bachelor's degree us like to go into the military base. Oh okay so where did you go to get your bachelor's. I ended up at san francisco state university. I got my bachelors in mathematics. And then you went there were you in. Rotc not was it. Ninety day wonder and ots officer training school. At lackland in san antonio. So i i graduated from college. In june of seventy two and two weeks later. I went out to san antonio and started into your ot s for a for ninety days and they were gonna pound with training. Poetry was up. Advance up in enid. Oklahoma and i enjoy them quite a bit. It was the i found all came fairly naturally and easy the advantage of already abbot close to two hundred hours of flying time so i knew all the basics basically so it was you know i. I really have good pilots right. I felt for the guys really haven't or part wasn't that tough

I kinda wanna wrap up all the stuff that we've missed as it's been nine days since our last pockets. No i'm sorry that's not even right. That is fuzzy. Math is been eleven days since our last podcast. So we've got a few things to go over That have popped off. Since then. And i wanna kinda look look forward to sometime this week. Mean jordan are going to get together and kind of talk about What games we really loud from. Twenty twenty maybe even discussed some Game of the year options and then look forward to twenty twenty one as Right off the bat. We got a bunch of games coming out in the beginning of the first the new year. We got to tell you rods two. You've got bravely default to you've got he's nine And the newly Confirmed for some of five strikers. Just a name The the big big ones I'm sure there'll be others. That will be unfortunately lost in the in the way. So we're going to record that sometime this week and In lieu of any news breaking. I may just make that part of the normal podcast unsure on that. But let's get into it. I hope you guys had a wonderful christmas holiday I didn't have any games that i particularly wanted that. We're already out. So i just kind of asked Asked the parents for Email confirmation that beginning Today risa to when it comes out on january twenty six that was cool and i did end up much too. Many of your delight. Hopefully i'm finally going to take a dive into these series. I picked up. Yee's eight for only twenty dollars on the ps story. I could not refuse as the physical version just refuses to ever go down in price so i figured this was by far the best opportunity. Get in on. What many consider to be a very very good. Jr pg and at some point. I'll be playing. It don't really know when that's going to be but that's enough rambling We did have fell. Calm day Twenty twenty winter addition and we got a few tidbits of information about the new legend of heroes. Toddle kiro no koseki if you notice the thumbnail for this Podcast are the two newest main characters is a third as well but these They dig use some high-rise resolution images of the to unsure why the third one was kind of like ashaari pow We'll get you later but still no names for these two characters but we do have a bit of information stuff. You see that image. There's a couple other on our facebook and twitter feed of those two characters while they are. I say have that trails feel to them. I do kind of agree with what president condo said last time that at mediate Glance they don't appear to be trails characters. And i believe that lies in the fact that they are from calvert So they're going to look a little bit different and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. These illustrations were drawn by katsumi. Nama and the other characters are from alcom. Like i said the character's names were not announced to this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty one in japan so those were the images. There were some other ones as well. If you'd like to see all those. I did put up a slide show video on our youtube channel. So you can check those out if you don't feel like clicking through pictures of via the website here is what we do know and i will just read this to you as this is the about for the new age of heroes karoo new koseki beyond the blue sky ahead of flashing light a land. A dawning resides cuba. There's no spoilers going on in here. This is all preliminary stuff in the news story arc. So we don't have to worry about that type of stuff the ladder this latter half of the trails. There is about to begin. The setting moved to the calvert republic in two thousand and twenty one foul calm release. Legend heroes kernigan the latest entering the trail serious as its fortieth anniversary rumors of work. The calvert nation is a multi ethnic nation experiencing unprecedented economic growth. Brought about by post war reparations. In a corner of the capital of a huge nation were immigration issues bringing about political instability. Okay well maybe. There are some spoilers in here okay. let's just get to the best. I'm sorry i read that. And i didn't think about it until just now okay. The command style action time bow system. You didn't previous trails. Titles has been revamped and that's going to set up an from a couple people. Let's just see what they said. Seamlessly transitioned from action oriented field battles to turn based commands battle to turn based command battle systems while making use of the unique elements the sixth generation combat or meant would try to pronounce his last time. I'm not sure how it is x. I f. r. x. i. p. h. a. z. Feel in a ballots to evolve from the previous trails titles. Okay so what does that mean. I don't. I don't know i really don't know how to had say seamlessly transition from action oriented field battles to turn based command battle systems I i mean obviously there's a bit of an extra element when you strike the enemies on the field in order to go into the turn based battle i. I need to see this in action to really know what they're even beginning to talk about would just have to wait and see You will feature many elements you laws. It's setting including a topics system which enabled together until such topics by communicating with. Mpc's out towns tra- gate situations in your favor when you act as a spray gun and that is the The character it's basically a detective. But they're calling them spring and alignment flame system. In which characters three alignments great and chaotic fluctuate depending on your own style influencing various status allies and adversaries and even scenario developments please look forward to allege heroes lowest entrance toasters depicted enrich expression by thumbs new original ingen. So that's that's pretty cool Here's what how they set up the situation and I get. I don't wanna get too much into this. The to emit the two people that you see in the image the one is the one call the speaker those are they say sometimes detective somedays negotiators and other days as bounty hunters. They're up for any job from any client. That's pretty cool And then the other one is Say to be a school girl wearing uniform. Prestigious school visits a rundown building located in old town in cowards capital. So that's the setting that's beginning of it. You can check out those images. Like i said there's a third character in the images as well with the two swords on his back and some long hair but we don't have any details. There is a battle scene that shows what looks like to be a craft or an art powering up but that from that snippet it does look to be turn based. So don't i'm so confused as to what to make. But i'm certainly excited about this one. But the lack of details and the promise of something new is leading to some question marks popping up. And i don't necessarily love that idea but it is what it is and until we learn a little bit more. It's just going to be speculation Unfortunately though that wasn't the only bit of information. And i'm sure we'll have a bunch more but Foul calm day twenty twenty winter. Also let us know about and this is not really affecting us as much. But they did. Say that a hatch marco koseki which is the one before this one and after cold steel four Clouded leopard entertainment will release a switch. Pc esteemed version of the game Sometime in summer. Twenty twenty one in japan in asia. I'm nearly positive. That's the same company that handled The transition for coastal three and four to the top of my head. So i came out for. Ps four in japan on august twenty seventh. So you know nearly a year later. They're talking summer to get that Switch pc version now. It handles the asian side of this and i s america handles the translation available. At least they have for the past two games In the cold still series in the west still no confirmation that that translation is ongoing. That have to assume that it is unless it's being handled by other parties I mean exceed did do the first two trills of cold steel games but at imagine that they are going to do this hedge amari as well and as soon as i hear something about that it will happen. It's certainly a good thing that this is happening and It could lead to a speedier at least for these games in the west. But like i said still no information on unfortunately. The last thing that they talked about was not briefly. Mentioned this last time the natto. noca- seki game. That is coming out in japan for For playstation four. This was the old Two thousand twelve least. Psp action rpg though some new details and images kinda showing the ps p version versus the Ps four version of it They're sent opposites gonna run at sixty frames per second on. Ps four with more vibrant graphics. Not being obviously these are things that you'd want to have updated from an old old system user interface options One thing that i thought was very interesting. And i'm not to say what they say. This game is not connected to the trails game. However the main character's name is now utah herschel now you trails players especially cold. Steel will know towa. Her last name is hershal So what they're they say there's no connection but then there's a connection is the protagonist and a boy from that island who attends and academy in saint elise. Those aren't you know aren't names that i recognized the from the trails series so it is very very interesting and i would be would like to know what that connection is at kind of read through it. You can read through the tales. Like i said before i am lower on the percentage scale To say of this game was actually going to make it over here or not. I if i if you say your day is gonna come today out outs. Action say no but would just have to wait and see. The original game did not look super impressive. So this isn't a game that i'm all that excited about to begin with but we'll have to. We'll just have to wait and see if that indeed happens for a lot of switch owners the next. Gop g they will more than likely be picking up is going to be bravely default to gain closer and closer to that february twenty. Sixth rolled wide release date friend square annex released new trailer for it albeit in japanese and have still not seen an english version of this yet so it talks all well. Supposedly it talks about wiz walt. The country established by those mejia's. They did it themselves to studies. The magic research institute But the the real kicker with this one and you can see it. Is this places overgrown. It looks like it was built kind of in the middle of it are on top of a giant tree. And there's just this tree just going right up through entire town is really cool again Trailer is how long was trailer of about three and a half minutes. Like i said in japanese so you can't really tell what's going on but it is kind of cool to see some of the visuals in action Four it but if you're elected shake those game out for yourself you can check out the demo for it It is now live on the east shop and One who feels the demo before its release will even pick up one hundred mine. Intendo platinum points here is the Short official description of the demo experienced the games at risk and reward system character strategy and stunning visuals in the latest braley default to final demo in this demo. The games four men characters are already other journey with jobson abilities at their disposal. I downloaded this. The other night. as if getting the switch away from my kid was hard enough with minecraft previously The kid did pretty good for Christmas and her birthday. And i now had to contend with her own copy of animal crossing so she and my wife can play two switches and who copies of animal crossing so they can will each other's islands. I know she also got the Spyro trilogy which. I really enjoyed those games growing up. So i can't wait to play those with her and relive those moments and she picked up mario maker to so. I'm not seeing that switch for a while. Maybe once she goes to sleep. If i don't have anything to play eck fired that demo. I would like to see how it is shaping up as will If you've got some free time and you're looking for d'you monster hunter rise. There are to say ten videos in total. Let's do a little no here. One two three four seven eight nine ten eleven twelve. There's twelve total. So i check. They were they were released in two packs. I take them all and made them into six long. Because it only about a minute minute long. So if you're one to check out some of the different weapons they go into monster hunter rise. You can do that going from Things like the switch axe gun lance hammer sorted shield heavy light bogue gun. Land is long swords and even the hunting horn. You check all those out over on our youtube channel. J rpg report dot com. You can also see a new second official trailer for the action. Rpg magnum lord Still no western released on this one yet. It is coming out in japan on march. The eighteenth for playstation four and switch said. This is the second trailer for the game. It looks pretty cool. I do hope that they bring this one. Over is from publisher. D three Developer felicia quite heard of them before. But still no word on it. I really hope they bring this over because it does pretty fun but yeah nothing Nothing quite yet. i'll go over some of these ones. That are just videos. There's a fifteen minutes of new footage from christ tales. This is previewing the present and future game play of it Remember this game got pushed back to early. Twenty twenty one. That's just the winner that don't into it's been Hit with a couple delays here lately. Not sure how much. Everything's pandemic related at this point but how much they just wanna fine tune things in. How much is really needed to make this work. Obviously you're doing with a system of past present and future while stuff can go wrong and working Just the way that you would like it to work New genesis the fantasy star online. To almost say reboot but definitely the new version of there is the opening movie for it and you should probably check this out. If we're looking at over fifty minutes of new footage as well mostly the character creation for its but this opening movie You know typically when you see these opening movies. They're using a pre rendered scenes. This was actually created using parts of the in game graphics. Engine which looks amazing Definitely if you're looking forward to this you should check it out sometime in twenty twenty. One is the release date Four it but again. This is one of those. Well not one of those but this is the faa gain. That i'm kind of just don't understand why it's not on playstation four. In the west it is in japan. But you've got to either play on xbox or on pc here in the west doesn't make a ton of sense but there's just things like that in this world that we gotta kinda get used to them. I guess we got three bits of sky news this week. i is. You can check out the fourth official trailer for six defiance of destiny I believe there's an english. There's an english version for this out. Now you can check it out. There was originally came out. There was just a japanese version but the english version shows off of really cool voices that they've got for the game. They got some good voice. Talent in this one in Very fitting for the series especially the little reincarnated pug services is awesome It's about seven or review of the game If you are curious about what's going on in this one changes that they've made this series. You will definitely want to check it out. Of course it doesn't come out in the west until summer. Twenty twenty one. Japan is going to get it in right about a month on january. The twenty eighth The other day actually. This was on christmas eve that this news broke New punchy released some new information screenshots for the game featuring and i hope i get these names right la haro aetna and flown Those were the original characters from the original the sky and they are saying that Basically once you beat the game you can Play a scenario with these original characters in it so kind of a you know. They're not in the main game this something post post content but the fact that they're in their would open the door to other characters popping up from other games as well. So that's a cool thing The world inside of an item. I m worlds have mended. Detailed in this article on worlds are divided into several fours slash layers and the items level increases with every four. That you clear says weapons become stronger as they level up. You can clear there either. Worlds to power them up once. An item is leveled up. You can get the same item at the same level from then on pretty cool feature of the sky series all these images i took input into a slide show. You can check that out on our youtube channel so you can dispatch companions into item worlds to research them. There's a new team attack system with up to ten characters in it. That's a pretty cool feature. New enemies were detailed There's a new horsemen. That's pretty crazy. So here's the Previous protagonist Oh here we go says not only will hear from. Our doctors appear the protagonist in heroines of the sky. Two three four and five will also appear in three d. The protagonist and heroines wilburs as downloadable content sometime after the launch of disguise six. So there's a from the sky to or i don't know in timika these pronunciations. I'm at risk of offending people. I understand how they're supposed to be pronounced So yeah they're gonna add them in there as as post content deal see. That's the type of thing. Like i would think you'd be okay with paying for because that's obviously not a part of disguise six. They are previous games characters in new content. So take how you feel about. Dlc that is that's one thing i think is is no k To do speaking of all those previous disguised characters they are all assembled in the rpg. Mobile game And we got news from bolt chain games that they will release worldwide the mobile version the sky arc in spring. Twenty twenty one Unless you're in these countries in the no fast if you are but we are a western primarily focused podcasts. So you're not going to get in china taiwan hong kong macau singapore malaysia or korea Sorry don't i don't know why maybe that is. Just it's gonna come out later. Maybe there's some rules preventing that From happening if we're interested in getting it on a closed beta for the game. They will have one for canada. Brazil australia and the philippines sometime in january so really happy to see this thing go worldwide. There was a global announced trailer for it This came back It came back in march of twenty nineteen in japan. Had a whole bunch of issues with it and It was de definitely the this game was deadly responsible for some financial hardships for nippon ichi. And they finally got up. Right obviously gotta writes the point. Now they're really to bring this thing out worldwide As far as the gotcha game or not. I don't know if i recall. I think it was paid game. But i should probably ended up before speaking about it. But i'm sure there's elements in there but hopefully this is a Not another one of those kind of like. We've we've like. We've got enough of those already know ankara today. So in place of it you get one last plea for listener support We've had a few people signed up for but really not a whole lot of response so I kind of said you guys. I would do this to the year. See what we got and move forward I would love to have listener support. Not have the need for ads but it is just a reality of life and we may just see what that happens. If i get a bunch outpouring of support here after listening to this. I may reconsider. But at this point at least in the a few few adds to offset the cost of Of the time spent during the podcast hope to understand and hope you are okay with that excited much. Rather have just you guys Do that and not have to worry about. It would wait and see so you. Click on the link right below this episode. Either through anchor. John daly greatly. Appreciate it. Dx and the They were supposed to come on japan on february twenty eighth. they have been delayed until march fourth. Twenty twenty one in japan. So if and when a western. What's going to happen for that. it's now going to be About five weeks later. I would to guess based on This delay these games Were from chloe tecmo and gusts so yeah just a little bit of Delay they save for further quality improvements. The games will be available for. Ps four switch and pcv steam win. They are released whenever that is sort. Online alsatian lakers got version one point to update it is now available and it adds a simone's ancient apostles story of course over various user interface online system battle improvements bugs fixed in addition to those two that new ancient apostles. That's an awesome awesome plateaued to have reached and kudos to them for that. I believe that is one of many reasons why we are getting the new near game coming out or re rematch. Whatever you wanna call it of that new one coming at a replicant here soon. That's another game to start saving. Your opinion is four and hopefully build a buy. All these games coming out here in the near future. I've got one last. You talk about with you guys again. probably wouldn't talk with jordan about our game of the years for twenty twenty four to twenty twenty one. The next podcast. I am still trying to get through. Colts deal for Often not had time to play here lately. I think just hit or maybe just shy of one hundred hour mark. So i've still got a good thirty to forty hours to go hopefully make it in time to Play roz a two day one but we have to wait and see that game just keeps on keeps on going but Going to be is going to be tough. I'm really going to have to search my feelings. That i think is flowing anything to if it's going to be found pacers. Seven remastered or a remake rather or four. It's it's really tough there. There's my heart says one thing amonte says another and there's different things to have to consider overall ought to make that final decision here real soon on what that What was looking forward to our thoughts here are coming out this week on. Kyle duncan beckett. "You got a point. So we start every episode with dr of the week. If you don't know what dr is. The drive is a line from a movie or tv show said with exceptional velocity and volume and this segment belongs to james klein of right all right. Ladies and hans. Gruber's what we have. Here is one of the best eddie murphy movies. We already did Forty hours we're going to do another one. Beverly hills cop. The nineteen eighty-four classic. There is a very good dr. Not by eddie murphy. But by that that guy was a huge weird molin is headed also a first blood rambo. Anyway here's a good fucking drive. I just tell you how disappointed i am to find you. Listen listen listen listen listen listen listen. Listen the enemy of overdrive right there. You know what's great about. That is not only the delivery in the drive but if you can see this on the on the video he's he's a close talker man right there but he feels the need to drive it anyway. You know it was pre covid. There was there was there was definite spindle exchanged in this. Shut up you. She was talking you know. Hey ask permission to do so. Here's some more. Here's your smart criteria. How to get a Helicopter License

"Let's talk about what it takes to get a helicopter certificate because I'm sure that's probably the first thing in people's minds. What are the FAA requirements for getting a helicopter private? Well. You're GONNA, find the requirements under part sixty, one, one, zero nine, which is where you're gonNA find the airplane requirements as well, and essentially it's a very closely mirrored to what the airplane requirements are you going to a total of forty hours under a part sixty one school Twenty hours of that is required to be dual ten hours of it is required to be a solo on your own, and then the other ten hours are generally made up of preparatory work or some of the students weaknesses in what they need to prep for the the ride and I, think everybody knows that forty hours is the minimum. Certainly airplanes people end up with more than that. What's kind of? The typical range of ours that people end up when they get their private in what drives, that WH- take some people longer than others. So all the requirements for helicopters were really based off of the airplane requirements. If you look anywhere in the far aim, you're gonNA see a lot of mention about the airplanes and it's not until you get down to the bottom of the regulations where it says except for helicopters. Helicopters can do this or this doesn't apply to helicopters special be far for an example, doesn't apply to helicopters as far as not being able to get it at any time you can request it at any time but yes, a typically people get their license about fifty hours seems to be difficult I. Don't I'm hearing more and more than in the airplane world fixed-wing world that taken people closer to the fifty hour mark in I. Don't know what that what that's caused by. Like you said and like the regulation say the forty hours is really minimum. I have had one of my students get. It is little as four three hours. But for the most part, the average is around fifty hours or so in helicopters I can say they're quite a bit different than airplanes. There's a lot more moving parts in just getting the actual hand. Eye Coordination Down to fly the helicopter is probably typically what takes a little bit more time. Now on top of that, you know it has to do with people schedule. Everybody's busy whether you have a job or a family or your own school or whatever. It might be. You know the more consistent you are in your training, the bathroom it's GonNa go typically. Nowadays, it other than when you and I flew. It's pretty nice because we have the Internet and we have. Why a few programs on that, you can take ground school online whether it be three o'clock in the afternoon or three o'clock in the morning whatever works for you, and then you and I. Can. Sit Down with our students and do information clarification making sure that people understand what they're learning. What about folks like me? Who have a airplane certificate and actually have one helicopter lesson on my belt Bell let's forget about that. What are the our the requirements different for someone who's already a pilot? Yeah. So right there the requirements are thirty hours flight time twenty hours of dual and ten hours of Solo. For the most part. All My ad on students are still taking somewhere in the forty hour range to fifty hour range, just depending on their schedule but the the minimum requirements drop by ten hours. Now, if you go to a part one, forty, one school that typical forty hours initially drops down to thirty five hours. That being said it still minimum the way I run my flight school as far as the education the syllabus recording I run at very much like a part one, forty, one school. So from a learning skill standpoint airplane pilots at any kind of a disadvantage because we need to unlearn things that we thought we knew. Well. I can tell you go on the opposite way for sure since I did that getting my helicopter first and then my but yeah. So there are two things that really pop out my head. One of the things is you know airspeed is our lifeline in an airplane in a helicopter that's not the case rotor RPM. Line the one of the. GonNa Notice with new pilots or on pilots. I should say when they're coming in for approach, they don't like getting slow whereas one. You know what you do when you coming on approach whether we're practicing shallower, not steep approaches whatever they may be we end in a hover. And airplane pilots don't like when you touch the ground. You're still going down the runway though is just getting them to understand that it's okay to lose airspeed because it's rotor RPM that we're concerned with the other thing is in a stall or an engine failure. One of the first things they tell you to push forward to regain airspeed don't do that in a helicopter, particularly a two bladed rotor system helicopter because that'll put you into A. Low gravity situation, and if you're in a low gravity alone g situation, you can actually aerodynamically take take the fuselage of the aircraft and the rotor system that is no longer supporting the fuselage and you can actually snap that off similarly to over controlling an airplane in saying Arab addict situation or windy situation breaking the wings off other want things that you need a particularly watch. The other thing is we don't lead with the rudders interns. We don't have rudders we have pedals, but they're anti Torque pedals in that strictly to keep the ball centered if you will or to keep the nose pointed into the wind, the more power you pull. The more anti left pedal that you need an opposite that of meeting right pedal when you're taking off in an airplane.

"Yes at. All businesses always. So. If you include those taxes and the benefits, you can increase these salary in eighty percent eight, zero, eighty percent. That's right. So you're talking about eighteen thousand dollars for but. That is the cost from employ. Incredible. But not only that because then you have to include the vacation that is another Is already glued in his amount because I am using twelve months. Okay. But then you have the thirteen salary. So you, pat him for an extra months. That's rised. And one-third from a month when these guy getting vacation. So when did this guy he leave studied as invocation here received forty days. Now. So he receives more when he's not working than he's working. That's A bonus law. So. If somebody makes quote unquote ten, thousand dollars a year that costs you eighteen thousand dollars. Some more while. So you were saying before you told me that when you bring machine when you buy capital equipment in Brazil, there's a lot of taxes. Yes that's the other. In Brazil getting imagine that in Brazil people need to work a hundred and fifty days and year to pay taxes just to pay their taxes that's right may have to work almost half the year. One. Third of this year is to just pay taxes companies. They have a teen to discuss taxes because you have. A huge amount of taxes in gas gauge one over each other you have federal you have state and have a town fees and taxes. You were talking about the demographics, the disparity in Brazil What percentage of the people in Brazil are rich what are how much are poor Brazil has? Two hundred and ten, million people two million people. Forty seven percent are economically active people on nine thirty, seven million people are something like that from those guys. You can imagine that we have. Unemployment the unemployment in Brazil. Is around twenty five, million people. But what does it mean employment? Occupied people what means Diet people that are not employed, but but they are. Searching for business. For War same same with here, and then you have. The people who are off the grid under employees we have under occupy it. That means the people that work less than forty hours a week seven million and you have discouraged this courageous. People that are more than six months trying to find a job five million people. Noah but Also remember that we talked about. Formalities. So from those ninety, five, million people working. Economically active. Forty percent is not formal work. They don't have a they are not registered. In the in the work ministry..

I'm just illustrating that the recovery as a whole, because when you reduce oxidative stress down to nothing, which of course you're experiencing. The recovery is so much better, the an instead instead of trying to recover back to baseline right and have a little bit of an improvement. The body hasn't had the exit show. It's using more that impacted the stress to get stronger so that the horn me, says the adaptive stress. The body gets stronger fitter and I think a lot of it is what goes back to that. Might Congo by Jemison? And so. That leads into like Why he was able to perform his his energy production was not inhibited by accumulative stress. So can I get your definition I. Guess of energy like because everybody says energy, and some people totally misuse, and say you know basically unaided energy, so I ate some more glucose, and you know that the two totally different things because energy is demand driven, and it's also based on the ability to produce energy from. "The west coast as a matter of fact in fifty minutes someone who was there at that game will tell us exactly what happened to the Houston Astros weather up to nothing and now a team that won a hundred in seven games the regular season what the play for their lives less than forty hours away he will join us in about fifteen minutes yeah I know you waiting for when it comes to those Dallas Cowboys two straight losses didn't get a chance to make your foreign one against the Green Bay Packers dak Prescott was been I the last couple weeks I get it I get it I get I understand it the median Fitzsimmons hearing all these last couple weeks and even hearing it before in the three weeks prior when they're better saying the cowboys got to pay that guy it represents the beauty of the National Football League I've said it before and I'll say it again the NFL's now week to week is not year to year it is now second to second and opinions and analysis will change by the second this latest involving dak Prescott and what's wrong with him you can't pay that guy represents the beauty of the National Football League credit it's comical to me especially living in Dallas Texas where the first three weeks it was Hey I'm payment pay pay the highest paid quarterback in the NFL now cut and cut him get rid of him don't pay that guy folks I'm not making this up they're not use the conversations you hear from whether it I'm a physical therapy or at lunch right you and at the pickup line at the elementary school I mean these are the conversations that are going on and that's how much it has changed in two weeks break the bank to now don't pay the guy the people don't realize it by the way both the starting tackles or banged up one was out one went out good luck with that against the Green Bay defense best of luck to you I don't care who is playing quarterback but I'm with you it that is part of the joy of of the National Football League but when it comes to dak and now the number geeks are coming out look at his record against you know winning teams of all asked two years so why is it just dax record aren't your twenty one other guys out there doesn't matter you know better than that but that without that one in pretty not too you have talked about this for years it's not the court that's how special the quarterback position is right because it what other Avenue of sport do you hear when you've got twenty one other starters not including a kicker and a long snapper and a holder right you wanna go specialist as well were you here raise or blame assigned to more to one player in athletics then the quarterback position you don't know and that's why I've always said for the for the longest time that's not just the most important position of football that's the most important position is sports no doubt about it but you know would you have signed up for especially when your quarterback for that scene no as a Dallas Cowboys and dax said the right thing you can say whatever you want about me it's all about W's and elves as far as I'm concerned I had three three interceptions out okay how many yards I had or or anything else like that they're in the subs is on a loss okay what what career high have none of that none of that matters and and a Mari's my saying that I think is an example of a lot of guys in the locker room a lot of guys on a team look in the mirror before they point fingers in as long as we have those type of guys on our team rugby fire going to keep getting better we're gonna be able to take these take things like this take Mona chan learn from and get better because of it I simply because of that attitude he that is the proper and the right thing to say but dak Prescott also knows no matter what that is the more losses accumulate the moors can be placed at his feet the more they wins accumulate the more that's gonna be placed at his feet you understand that as that position he does the quarterback in quarterback in head coach to me in the National Football League all on the same line anything that goes wrong those two positions are going to get blamed more than anybody else anything that goes right those two position to give more the credit it's what you signed up for dak Prescott was in making an excuse he was saying exactly what his team believes what his team feels what he feels but he also knows if this keeps going if they keep losing games and he doesn't play well on those big games he knows what's going to be thrown at him no matter what is going on around that Prescott a a Freddy other aspect of this whole thing there that not a ton of people talking about is also is is office according to kill more we kill more in Ibiza it's a true story folks Green Bay yeah and the saints by the way and in these two losses went back and looked at hand signals that Kellen Moore was using as a quarterback at Boise state that's good coaching also by Green Bay and New Orleans going that deep right and looking at telling more film of the hand signals that that he would that he was at his coaching staff a boy Z. use callin was using some of those same signals back to back weeks any got exposed big time that you do young OC has got to evolve as well but no one talks about those aspects when it comes to the position of quarterback right it's all about just one guy not twenty one others or your see using the same hand signals from college I was so he was the boy wonder hello more the first three weeks right now you better just because people got a book on yeah and now I'm I'm curious to see how this involves but when it comes to dak I'm still paying that man his money is K. teddy KGB once said that because of you I got a quarterback you ain't got a shot and I don't think dak is it anyway is not even a lead quarterback but he's a very good quarterback and sitting down with Jason wait a couple you of weeks ago mail waiting when I asked him about dak he would you shut up love is a and what eighty two says goes a long way with me because that's a first ballot hall of fame he David Sims and Freddie Coleman of radio waves image on ESPN radio ESPN answers as Intel eighty and then I guess I'll buy to hang out with those here thanks SO printable foreman slide to your point out that Chris got up on the Dallas Cowboys and I said it before the season I would wait the pale I will wait until the season is over it could be very very easy and very convenient the step out there so he's playing great and though that money to me this issue is not finished work on the dock Prescott you got to take everything into any kind of balance you have in your mind when you decide to pay this kind of the Dallas Cowboys on waiting until the season is over before I get that done if I'm them it don't be surprised that's with the Dallas Cowboys are going to go about this Matthew in Dallas at eight eight eight seven two nine three seven seven six Matthew I got to say about the store was attacked Prescott my friend well actually it's not you in California and looking on the outside of the the San Francisco forty Niners sighing juniper rob Lowe to eight hundred forty billion dollar deal now granted they look great last week we do a grub what we would do that good and he seems like he still gets told them don't make a right WC throws right but they were all very well to identify start you know a by product of Ezekiel Elliott on the cowboys wanting the football well or is it just the fact that killed more than one week is a GPS on the next week for the two weeks it seems like they're not really in the sanctity of steam like it don't seem like they really are all on the same page I think back out the town for a big contract man it's just it's just seems like some of the stuff he's doing you can improvise well we can throw the ball will there's an energy level there there's a leadership level there and it just seems like to direct a sick because they can't run you know the effect yeah I'm completely because this cowboys offenses bit is built and predicate a running the football with Ezekiel Elliott dak Prescott is there there's going to be the highest paid player with the most important players always been Ezekiel Elliott and when he does get those three rides a kind of touch is you're not going to win a lot of games dak Prescott going to ball around forty fifty times you're just not going to have that happen and work for the Dallas Cowboys in the you can win a championship that way and believe me even dak Prescott knows that about this cowboys offense Ben Roethlisberger had Bettis Troy at AM at the John Elway won the Super Bowl until I got to real Davis you gonna army rocker Roger Staubach twenty door set Joe Montana Roger Craig we go on down the list yeah me beast mode Russell Wilson Tom Brady is running game no matter who was later for it so if ever a great running back and running game it obviously helps a quarterback and vice versa notes which championships are made yeah no doubt about that we'll see with dak Prescott can avoid his struggles of those got a bye week knows the New York Jets how do we get the game five between the Astros and the Tampa Bay rays a final stop by tells how we got here next on ESPN radio the new ESPN app now with ESPN plus baseball hockey soccer college football one more I hope so because with plus you get new film shows docks.

"You know one day. Nine eleven and come out to grab grab my first water drink of the day get too, right? And I saw the second tower go down, you know, or get hit. And I just I had a love for my country at, you know, unofficial from country in not such great home relationship, and the Marine Corps was out for me. It was everything I wanted you know to test who I was firstly. So it how long did you serve four years ago? I wanted to ask to really quick were you in salt? You were twenty four years old when the accident happen. We're you still in when it when it happened. No, just separated. Okay for how was that? Then because I feel like that had to be doubly difficult. Not only are you fresh out of the Marine Corps and away from that world you knew. But now this happens if you don't mind me asking what? I don't mind at all. That is something that. And I appreciate your asking me. Not too many people. Do that's getting in somebody's head space that could otherwise make them uncomfortable. Yeah. I wasn't good with who. I was for a while. There's no pride in what I had done. I was going around a corner hit grab on the road at run for six years. You know, I was on my way to meet up with the client of mine, and I went down. There was nothing. I could do. So, you know, that's that's always everybody's first impression. Oh, my words. Did you lose it a war, you know, and that's a tough pill because I have a lot of pride. It's who I was in the Marine Corps, and what I had become and to be taken down a notch. You know, as far as like my physical abilities was was pretty big. So just changing my lifestyle. You're not only that but you had to battle through dealing with the loss of your arm. And then you found out you had cancer. Right. Yeah. Well, I mean, if we if we're if we really look at it, you know, I lost my arm when the economy tanked. I mean, it was down. It was downhill from there. Let's take it back to a positive point of whenever this weekend whenever you were going through and seeing the reaction from your video whenever you got the first big win on a legend. I remember specifically what it was like the first time that I went like viral where you like holy shit. This is the mazing. I don't I still don't know that I've, you know. I mean, it's been less than forty hours. I think around forty eight hours. I don't know that it's really hit home. You know, this is my first podcast. I really did. No. You know, what a podcast was shed. I didn't either until I started want. So you're. So it's you know, I just I'm taking it as it comes. It has been very interesting the feedbacks been mazing, you know, which is crazy too. Because as I stated I've I've always been a battlefield fan. Battlefield veteran. That's all I played and baffled five came out not knocking love them. I just couldn't just couldn't do it anymore. My buddies couldn't play the game anymore. So we I mean weeks ago, I was literally about the hanging up then apex legends came around. And lo and behold, I mean, it's challenging for me feedback has been amazing. And you're picking it up and that your clip went viral ride at the right time when apex legend added twenty five million users this weekend. And then you have one of the biggest clips that's going around from it. I think of all the clips that I've seen yours is my favorite not just because we have you on the podcast. But because it's legit interesting story. It's different like everybody is a gamer. They're really good. Good whatever, but you had to come. You look at your picture, look if you going viral, and you know, that there's something that you overcame to get to that point. So anytime you have victory in that if feels a little bit sweeter. I would think. Yeah. I gotta be honest. It's it's a it's a little hot poker to my wife because she supported me, you know, what I mean..

"So even less than forty eight hours and some of these cases, so especially when you've got the long road trip back to back road games pretty far away. You know, if you're playing southern Utah, and then you're playing eastern Washington if you're playing eastern Washington, and then you're playing Portland state. That's usually pretty common double you can walk in Portland state, Sacramento state, Portland state, something like that, you know, if you're quite a ways away from home, and then you have a quick turnaround less than forty hours. You gotta be careful backing that team in the second game, especially depending on how the perform you're right. Yeah. I mean, that's a pretty quick turnaround for college kids, and that that's certainly the normal here for the Big Sky. All right. So let's move away from the Big Sky that we did a good job breaking that down. It'll be a conference that we continue to watch throughout the rest of the season here. Let's get into our regression candidates. And interestingly enough both of them come from conference USA here. Let's start with the negative regression candidate. That's on your radar. Yeah. I I didn't do that on purpose. But is kind of interesting they both come from the same conference. First of all, you ABC sense. If you you it'd be defense. They look like they're pretty good. But then you realize they've been playing against according to on the way, they say that three hundred and thirty nine toughest schedule of offenses so far this year. So they'd say the kind of weak offenses their eightieth in sectors field goal percentage. They were hundred sixty first year ago. I think there's UAB defense is quite a bit worse than it. Looks like on paper if you look down this the scheduled to see who UAB going to be playing going forward. They don't really have tremendous offenses that they're going to be playing against too many times North Texas team in general rice as it pretty decent offense Marshall, certainly good offense and western Kentucky decent on offense. They should be better than they are. They're under cheating. So I think that UAB the big. The thing. I would look for is to go against them. When they face is better offense is or take overs. I will note that you're right. Beat those play very slowly they can have some pretty low scoring games. But if you get one of those really low totals UAB game, I would look to bed and over based on the fact that their their defense that start regretting when they start playing a decent offense. Well, and another thing that we've talked about here, you know, because they move at such a slow tempo. And they do have what appears to be a good defense some of their totals in those games where they face better offenses will open low and we've seen a lot of steam and a lot of money come in on overs for low totals so cert- looking to circle some of these spots and play the overnights on them. Maybe get a little bit of a middle opera too as well. Absolutely. You know, you see a total come out. We'll say for for a game against like Old Dominion over Charlotte or something like that. You see a total come now that one twenty one twenty two you know, what can happen, and it's going to get that up. So, you know, if you wanna take the over you'd better be ready for it because you know, that one twenty one and one twenty two is going to become one twenty five or one twenty five and a half. And I wouldn't have to tell you how many times it could fall between one twenty one and one twenty five and a half. All right. So positive progression candidate here. And this is a team that I kind of isolated a couple of weeks ago. And I think I was on the train a little bit too early with them. But this is a team that played a brutal non conference schedule in a season where they had a lot of transition internal. Yeah. Middle Tennessee State. I think you're right on middle Tennessee State. And if you go back to me about it that they choke a couple of games away..

"Coming from FOX business and the mid America Nazran university twenty five percent of Americans feel they have found their dream job. Twenty five percent. That's actually. I mean dream job. What does that mean? Now, I know you're I know you're one of the people in that you make up part of that twenty five percent. You're one of the few people. I know that, you know, feel like you have found your dream job. I although I really really do like my job. And I guess it was sort of my dream job. It's not totally my dream job. Because I have to show up here every day. Didn't you tell me one time that your dream job would be something more along the lines of building things out of wood in a nice garage someplace? Houses and sell them at the flea market. Yeah. I mentioned I'll be doing that twenty years from now. Well, twenty years I was thinking just a couple of years from now on the retirement home. You have lots of opportunities. Very funny. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So so you ask about who what are the dream jobs, or who are the people most likely to have their dream jobs. Yeah. What's this dream jockeying all about so only twenty five percent of Americans say they're currently after dream job. And as we get into the article, some of this may be a little bit obvious, or it might make sense, right? Right. Most of the people to have one of the dream jobs, or what makes it a dream job is a high salary wall. Chances are the higher your salary is the more you're going to like your job. But the people that make a lot of money that don't like their job because you know, usually if you're making a lot of money come it's a high pressure high stress situation, right? Yeah. Attorneys people like that. Sometimes they are working thousand hours a week that kind of money. So if you're not making a lot of money, it seems obvious that if someone who's making a lot of money says it's the dream job. But that's not always the case. But so these are people that have a high salary who have a doctoral degree so highly educated, right? Highly educated people, which is probably why they have a high salary. Okay. Now. This is kind of weird a resident of the south west most of the people that are say they. Have found their dream job live in the south west region of the United States and most of them are from the baby boomer generation. So you think they're they're living in California, or do you think they're living in Arizona, New Mexico? Well, when they save the south west. Yeah, I'm thinking, Arizona, New Mexico. I mean, California would be west west. Maybe maybe that's a conversation about the climate. They like to live in warmer weather as opposed to having to shovel snow in the west. That's I'd be thinking people that live in California that work for these rack jobs like a ninety minute lunch and they make two hundred grand a year. And all that. Well, San Francisco is not quite the place that it used to be. So you don't hear a lot of people saying that their dream scenario would be in San Francisco. I've heard that too right? All right. So those are some of the criteria, right? Right. And you know, again, if you have a higher education, certainly a doctorate you probably going to have a higher salary. I don't know about living in the southwest part. This is interesting. No, forty one percent said they wanna be business owners. Now, we've talked about that before. And the fact that being a business owner may be an a great dream. But the reality may not be quite as all you all you think it's cracked up to be before you get there. Right. I grew up. You know, my father was a business owner. So I grew up, you know, in a in a in a family run business. You have owned multiple businesses before you find your dream job. Right. And we know being a business owner is not always, you know, what you think is going to be in. This is really funny. Forty one percent of the people that took the survey said they'd like to be their own business owner. However, they would not be willing to be a business owner effort required to work sixty hours a week. So most likely you're not going to be a business owner, you got you don't have to work hard. You just want the money to come to your right? Do you think most people that are talking about being a business owner, you think that just implies to them that they're gonna make a whole bunch of money? Yeah. Probably well, I'd love to own my own business. So well, so they don't have to have a boss rally. I know you don't have a boss, and you're gonna make more money and have all sorts of people doing the work for you. And you're just gonna make the money. You know, what that's the hard part you. And I both know that part about a business is having employee's. Right. Right. Because that's one of the hard parts. Yeah. I think that's the hardest part. There's no question because to find the right people train them up keep them happy that kind of stuff you feel like you're playing to the employees as opposed to having them work for you. And that can be frustrating at times, take it first hand, I know that to be the case. Now, there is a job where you can be a business owner or work for yourself and work a lot less than sixty hours a week. You can have unlimited earnings potential, and the other thing we've talked about is to become a business owner usually requires a large investment, right? We talked about franchises and all this stuff. Right. So a business that we're going to talk about has unlimited potential way less than sixty hours a week of work less than forty hours a week of working, and and minimal investment, right? Sounds like trading, and that would be what that'd be trading absolutely training for a living trading, supplementary, income whatever you wanna do it. Here's one thing. I want to preface this with. I don't think anybody should trade as a hobby. I don't think hobby trading. You always say that you need to take trading seriously because this is your money we're talking about and you can't mess around with your money. Right. So if you think, and if it were easy everybody would be doing everybody be doing it. Right. So you're you're really not going to have success handed to you as a traitor. You're gonna have to put some work into it. Don't let anybody fool you. This is not a get rich quick scheme. It's not anything that happens overnight. It takes time and some effort and some work on your part to learn how to do it properly. So when we talk about being a traitor and. You know training for a living keep in mind that people that trade for a living the best traders, I know work thirty sixty minutes a day. Sometimes I work a little bit more than that at trading. But it's rare I've got certain things that I do on certain days, and I know what to look for. So the opportunities exist out there that you don't have to put a lot of time into the actual trading. You're going to have to put some effort into the front end learning how to do it? But once you've got it figured out how to trade. It doesn't take much of your time. As a matter of fact, I always tell people this. You're going to have to figure out something to occupy your time. Now, there are different styles of trading some depending upon what kind of traitor, you wanna be might require a little more time than others. But generally, it doesn't require that much time. There's so many misnomers about riding misconceptions people. The first thing people will say is I'd love to learn how to trade or get into the markets. But I don't have enough money. That's not that that that is not true because you can get into options, and forex and futures with a minimal amount of. Right. Those leveraged asset classes that we talk about. And then the other thing people say is why I can't sit in front of the computer all day. You don't have to sit in front of the computer. All right. You know, what we talk about options, futures and forex the only one of those three that has a traditional market timeframe is options. Now, the stock market is open from nine thirty until four o'clock in the afternoon, and then there's pre and post market sessions, but that's a while while west, and we don't want to trade those timeframes anyway, the options market trades from nine thirty until four o'clock in the afternoon, just like the stock market does. But if you're talking about trading, the forex market or the futures market futures markets open twenty three hours a day. So if you have a traditional job, and you kinda wanna start this on the side, you can definitely do that. Because you if you're an early riser get up do some trading before you go into work, if you are somebody that wants to go into work, and then come home, put some dinner on the table for the kids, but the kids to bed and then start trading that opportunity exists for you in the future. Market and the forex market. If you're somebody that is a is a bartender and you get off at two o'clock in the morning, come home, spend an hour, trading forex market when you get home. And the opportunities are there. So you can grow this thing into something that could take over your current occupation. But you can go slow at it. And you don't have to just put all of your time and all of your effort into it right now. Stop doing what you're doing. And over the course of time. I'm sure you have seen a lot of your students do that. Right. People into the people come into the Online Trading Academy from all different backgrounds, all different walks of life, all different jobs, and they they they need to supplement their income, and they want to supplement their income, and they learn how to trade, and they start trading like, you just said before they go to work after work, whatever and slowly build that up to a point where they say, hey, I don't need my job any more. This is going to become my job. That's exactly right. That opportunity. When I when I think about we're talking about this earlier your. The beginning of the year. You wanna make these? Huge strides forward to change your lifestyle and change your situation. There's no better time than right now. To learn how to trade the markets not only from the perspective of just getting going on something new at the beginning of the year. But the like you said before the volatility in the markets right now is incredible. And volatility is a positive word. It's not a negative word. You know, volatility means opportunity. It's that's a scary word to a lot of people. Because volatility means we're going up and we're going down. Well, if you are a traitor and not just an investor, then all you really want is the market to move..
