CBS fall schedule: Here's how the network is moving on after 'Big Bang Theory,' Les Moonves

"About the big bang theory. And the wrapping up the show, and he promised to do some research on how much money obscene amounts of money, these actors in Hollywood are making well, and it was kind of interesting to read because they the main stars of the big bang theory were all making a million dollars episode, but they all took a pay cut. So that Melissa row and may Bialik both got a big raises because they were earning far less than that. Now, they both make a half million dollars per episode. The main stars that looks like they're making about nine hundred thousand dollars per episode. All right. So. The modern family did the same thing the Casta modern family, they negotiate as a cast not as individuals. Okay. Which is kind of interesting. So anyway, but as a result so that all that adds up to about two percent of the annual revenue the show the annual revenues about a billion dollars. And that's without streaming rights being sold yet. So all those stars are going to split still round twenty million dollars per year in syndication and don't forget, you know, Jim Parsons, the, you know, the guy who really was kind of the breakout star of the show they had that young Sheldon show now where he is the voice of that. So they're not hurt that way. No, no shows going away. You will see it streaming somewhere. I am sure. In the very near

CBS News announces anchor changes at "CBS This Morning," "CBS Evening News"

"Morning. There is a shakeup underway at CBS news this morning. The network announced major changes to its flagship shows this Gayle king on CBS this morning. We are announcing some major changes today moving forward working to get even better at what we do. Those major changes come amid ratings concerns for CBS this morning and also for the CBS evening news. And also after a series of harassment revelations rocked this network in recent years joining us now with more NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik morning. David. Hey, do to what is happening CBS. And why why is it happening now? So let's first talk about what's happening. You're going to see Nora O'Donnell, leave CBS this morning. It's that's their their morning news show, and she's going to become the anchor of CBS evening news. You know, the newscast once host by Dan rather on kites storage show. She's replacing Jeff glor- who's been there less. Than eighteen months. You're going to see a little bit of rotating chairs happening on the morning show. She is doing that John Dickerson's going to leave the morning show and the coin correspondent for a sixty minutes. And you're going to see the remaining this show built around. Gayle king who's been there who's really a sword in recent years, but particularly even in the last year landing a bunch of news making interviews, including a memorable one with our Kelly's been accused of so many crimes memorable interview to say the least. Yeah, really intense and really brilliantly handled by king, and she'll be joined by Anthony Mason longtime Saturday morning show host. He's been a longtime evening news anchor Fillon at a correspondent for the network. Anthony Mason, we'll also be joined by a twenty dokoupil a correspondent for for the network, and those those figures will be rotating in and around these these major programs, and what about the timing is is there something. Significant that CBS is going through all the shuffling at this moment. What does it tell us will even seeing a lot of coverage in a lot of rumors and speculation about what was going to happen? CBS had won some audience and also gotten a lot of morale boost by pursuing harder news edge for its morning show and for the evening news, and yet ratings had sagged in recent years, Jeff chlorine, some ways was expected to be the solution. He replaced got Pelley after Kelly's ratings after initial boost had had declined and there've been some tension between Pelley, the former anchor and former CBS news president David Rhodes glare was supposed to solve onto this under under roads and had not done. So and there've been a question of what's going to happen to pairing of John Dickerson, quite brilliant. Former moderator of face the nation had not had the same level of success as the morning show. It had under Charlie rose. And so they said something's going to happen. Too risky was named at the beginning of the year to shake things up in the shakeup was hers. So is. Is it just about ratings or how much of this has to do with the the sexual harassment scandals that we've seen this network through? Well, you seen a network. The network rocked by sexual harassment scandal from the top les Moonves, the chairman of CBS the entire parent network Inc. As well as Jeff Fager, the former chairman of CBS news in the longtime executive producer, sixty minutes, which is far and away in some ways, the most important show, certainly money maker for CBS CBS evening news CBS this morning. Have sort of been perennial third rated shows Charlie Rose's departure from CBS this morning in late twenty seven teen really rocked the chemistry and rock the stability of CBS news, but they had hoped to Dickerson could stabilize that. This sentence is the latest domino to fall from that. They want to stabilize the show want to stabilize the network insurance scheme particularly wants to show it's hers, and she's going to find a path forward for CBS. All right. Big changes today at

Former CBS CEO Les Moonves Denied $120 Million Severance Package

"This message comes from NPR sponsor Comcast. Comcast values your time. That's why you can schedule to our appointment windows, including nights and weekends that way. You can spend more time doing what you love. Comcast working to make things. Simple, easy, and awesome CBS is accusing les Moonves says of a quote willful failure to cooperate with an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. That failure atop the alleged misconduct. Is why CBS is denying him a severance payment of one hundred twenty million dollars? So what if the downfall of a legendary executive mean for his company NPR TV critic, Eric Dagens has covered moon vez and CBS for years. He's here either. Eric, hi, according to CBS, at least, and we should note. Moonves denies wrongdoing broadly. What what what is CBS say moon vested? Well, let's go back move. As was forced to step down back in September. At the New Yorker magazine published allegations from several women. Claiming he had sexually harassed or salted them. So the CBS board wound up hiring to law firms to look in the allegations against moon vase, also harassment or misconduct allegations that CBS news and CBS is wider corporate culture. Okay. So we mentioned an alleged willful failure to cooperate was Moonves supposed to cooperate with those law firms. Yes, they expected him to tell the truth when they asked him questions about his past conduct. Now, we haven't seen the reports that these law firms have created, but the New York Times reported on early drafts of the reports which said that investigators have evidence move as had lied to them and had tried to destroy text showing that he attempted to find acting work for one woman who'd made accusations against him in the board statement, they accused move as a breaching his contract and quote, willful material misfeasance now I had to look that word up, but it means performing an official duty in an improper or unlawful manner move as a turn. He has said in a statement that the conclusions are baseless that his client cooperated fully and that he vehemently denies assaulting. Although possession is nine tenths of the law. CBS has the one hundred twenty million dollars. They say they're keeping the one hundred twenty million dollars unless there's some other preceding we don't know about coming. But that leaves CBS trying to move on from losing its top executive in this in this particular way, how deep does the problem run at CBS. Well, you know, this was a company wants known as the Tiffany network. It bills itself as the most watched broadcast network in America, they have all these popular programs. But they also have this history of harassment allegations CBS this morning anchor Charlie rose was fired last year. After a Washington Post story revealed multiple allegations of sexual harassment. Jeff Fager, the executive producer of the top news magazine. Sixty minutes was let go in September. He had sent a threatening text to a CBS reporter who was working on a story about harassment allegations at CBS news. The New York Times reported last week on a nine. A nine point five million dollar settlement with actress Elisha deuce coupe who claim the she was harassed while she was working on the CBS drama bull. So there's a lot. And and as a critic, I pointed out CBS's lack of new show starring women for years. The question now is you know, is CBS really going to look harder at its history. Now or just hope everybody moves on after this crisis pass, you're putting on an interesting connection or parallel. We don't know how closely their connected, but we have allegations of private misconduct, and your noting something wrong with the public faces. CBS the opportunities given to women the representation of women CBS doing anything about these kinds of problems. Well, the board says it's created this new position called chief people officer to revamp its human resources departments. They say their diversity and inclusion efforts have been an adequate and they're going to beef them up. They're giving twenty million dollars to several different groups that are working to combat workplace harassment. But the CBS board is her from employees who said that Powell stars. And. Executives were not held accountable at the company and the question is whether CBS is going to hold them accountable now without big stories in the media to pressure them, Eric thanks so much for sheet. It thank you. That's NPR critic Eric decades.

"They we need transparency. Especially in this case, we need to know what they found. And then on the talk where you know, Julie Chen is she's taking a couple of days off les Moonves his wife on the talk. They said the Cheryl Underwood. Sharon, Osborne, also said, look, secrecy causes more questions transparency brings clarity. How do we make sure this never happens? Again, we need to get to solutions. And the one of the ways we do that is by finding out what the results of this investigation are how can you keep something like that quiet? So they're blasting their own company. It's not a good position for CBS right now. And I have to imagine under that kind of pressure. We may get the results of these investigations if they can they might be contractually obligated not to do it, you know, unless les Moonves and CBS both say, yes. These results of this can be released publicly. Yeah. The good for those ladies, I'm not necessarily a fan of talk shows like that. But I say kudos to them for going after the company. And I mean that's gutsy move on their part. It really is especially when there's gonna be some new bosses coming in. You know, you never know. Sharon Osborne, talked about a Monday, you, you know, when new bosses come in. And they tend to clear house they their word for the security of their jobs, which I don't think are in jeopardy. But again, it puts generally Chen in another awkward position. Because again, they're talking about her husband, and they're saying, you know, CBS really needs to come up. And and let us know what in the results of this investigation into her husband. So I it makes it really tough. If she comes back to the show. It's really awkward, especially if they keep talking about this on the show, which they probably will continue to do. So and a guy who I thought would have been perfect for the role apparently will not be prince in a new movie Bruno Mars says that rumor is one hundred percent false. Yeah. It's one of those things though, you put it out there. And you never know what might happen. This is it was a report from the. Daily Mirror saying that Bruno Mars was gonna play prints in an upcoming movie from Netflix now Bruno Mars is people say one hundred percent false. Netflix says it doesn't have a prince film in the works. But now that the story is out there. And it has people thinking Bruno Mars should play France in some kind of movie, I bet somebody somewhere is kind of put a deal together. Now. So even though the story might not have been true to begin with. It's one of those things that might happen. Just because somebody wrote it exactly Jason. Thanks so much. I appreciate it. Figure later that's ABC's. Jason Nathanson, wouldn't Bruno Mars be a perfect prince. I mean, you've even seen him performance some sort of prince like outfits, so. Yeah. Eight plus B equals C. "Julie Chen and look to her for some kind of statement are on something and she was going to be in this awkward situation. So, you know, I I don't know how she comes back to that table. But we'll see if she does not clarify the most of the allegations against les Moonves are before he married. Julie. Right. I believe all of them are. Yeah. So she doesn't have to defend the man he was then because she didn't know the man he was then she just has to defend the man that she knows now her who is her husband and the father of their children. And and and this all happened. Like, you know, as far as we know he did not cheat on her, but still you're dealing with especially in the most recent allegations, violent sexual assault. So even if that happened before you were married, you know, and again, they're allegations. And again, he denies them. But even so, you know, that's a conversation for a husband and wife, honestly, I do not envy her position at all. Because you get into. Get into a relationship with somebody. And even if even if he said, you know, there might be women who come forward and say that you know, she has to know when you're marrying somebody that I profile that women are gonna make allegations against him. And so that goes that goes with the territory, okay, fine. But when woman after woman starts coming up with these allegations that are violent like you said, and then how do you how do you stand by your man? How do you say? Yeah. Married this guy and at the time I had no idea of what was going down. But now that I do even though we had children together, and we've had this wonderful marriage together. What do I do? Now knowing that this was his past. It's one thing to be able to rationalize when these allegations first came out, and it was six women. And it was something that happened. You know, most of the allegations happened in the eighties, and the the culture was different and it was mostly harassment. Nothing really violent, and you could say okay that was my husband in the past. And you know, things have changed. He's a different man now. But when these new. Allegations can come out, and they are particularly violent and particularly heinous, and again, he denies them. But you you have to look at that. And now there are thirteen allegations you have to I would assume you would question, you know, is this the man that I married is this who is this man again tough conversations for a husband and wife down. I can't even imagine Jason. Thank you so much. That's ABC's. Jason nathanson. What do you do? Do you stand by your man until he's convicted do you walk away? Now, he's dragging you down. I like I said I would not want to be Julie Chen shoes for anything right now. This is KFI in K O S T HD two Los Angeles, a sect traffic.

"Call in at eight seven seven three eight one three eight one one by by the way, ever wonder why big media? Really rejects. Well, rejects what how can we put this moral arguments? Condemn evangelical Christians or dismiss them or orthodox Jews and that sort of thing. Well, look at this les Moonves this sexual harassment. He's out Charlie rose out. Matt Lauer out. What was the guy's name Weinberg out? At your media, so-called, news media and the rest of it. Anyway, wanna continue because it is time that the democrat party and the media and academia answer for this. Brett share over at the free beacon UCLA UCLA agrees to host radical anti Israel conference. Would they dare to hold a radical anti-south Africa conference folks, I tell it like it is? Were they? UCLA has agreed to host the annual conference for students for Justice in Palestine, a radical student group that leads much of the anti Israel campus activity at universities across the country. The Jewish journal reports UCLA has been under pressure toback out of hosting the group given its history of disrupting Jewish events on campus and promoting movements such as the boycott divestment and sanctions campaign which aims to destroy is pro through economic warfare. And it statement the university said that it opposes the BBS campaign. But still feels obligated to host the event tell me what it say the same thing about the clan or Neo Nazis. Use of campus space by a student organization such as students for Justice in Palestine does not mean that UCLA endorses the event or agrees with the views expressed by event organizers. Do you ever see set, for example UCLA and the university of California regents continue to firmly opposed boycott divestment and sanctions against Israel, especially in the university setting. Controversial topics should be discussed thoughtfully and respectfully, really. Really is that how we talk about the clan and the Neo Nazis. How is this much different than that? Seriously. How is this much different than that? And I'm gonna tell you something, and I tell you this all the time. Because of our immigration system. You can see Europe to more and more people, certainly not the vast majority, but more and more people are coming into this country. And bringing their cultural hatreds with them. Their hatred for this country their hatred for Israel and so forth and so on there's no demand allegiance star principles. None whatsoever for the left and for the media. People overseas have a right to come into the United States, regardless of their views. Regardless of their views. Which is different than the past very different from the past. Obama talks about tribalisation. This is tribalisation when you don't have assimilation. It's tribalisation. We have no idea who the hell house coming into this country. What their purposes are motivations are. But such a group didn't even exist twenty years ago on our college campuses. Now it goes on in the university setting. Controversial topics should be discussed thoughtfully respectfully free. From demonization insult ethnic bias is that out conservatives are treated on college campuses is that why they're not free to speak without all kinds of police forces being involved, or they don't get to speak at commencement exercises. Is that what they're talking about? Who's the last conservative? To give the commencement speech at UCLA. UCLA holds participants at campus events organized by registered student groups to the standards of behaviour set forth in the UCLA student code of conduct and applicable laws, and is committed to ensuring the safety of our students. Sure. So this will take place in November. College campuses. Breeding grounds for anti-semitism. Breeding grants. French Stephen the other day said, you know, I want to sit down with the I wanna I wanna talk. He's he's African American wonderful, wonderful friend. You're right on the facts, but you need to know feelings and passions and emotions I'm more than happy to discuss it. When you consider that six million Jews were exterminated. Less than one hundred years ago. Little over seventy years ago. And this stuff goes on in the democrat party. That's right. I said it and this stuff goes on on our college campuses. And when you consider that the Washington Post is trying to take a candidate and individual to smear an individual who they know is not a racist. Ronda Santa's who they know is not because they want to silence him and they want to scare people from voting for. You can see them at the left. Whether it's the official left and the democrat party when it's the academic left at the at the UCLA or whether it's their surrogates and the media like the Washington Post. If you're a conservative, if you believe in the founding principles, if you insist on a simulation into our culture. If you believe in natural rights and natural law. Not progressivism. And your painted as some kind of a racist throwback. And yet it is we. Who embrace the philosophy of liberty for all individuals. That's our view. And it's one of the reasons we do not believe in an autocratic centralized iron-fisted government. Which is where you go when you're a progressive. Eventually, there's no alternative. So the democrat party has some answering the do. The media have some answering to do. Academia has some answering to do all of which. I've been thoroughly devoured by the progressive movement. Because as I've said one hundred times a thousand times the progressive movement is the bastard child. Marxism. Surely it is. You must not understand Marxism because it's not as I understand it quite well, and we've written a bad written about it. And we've talked about it at great length you and I. Doesn't have to be the purest form of Trotskyism Maoism or whatever. It is what it is. So where are the stories in the media? And then you look at the anti defamation league the AD L. You know, what happened at the Anti-Defamation League? I assume most of you don't. But you know, what happened there? And it means what it says anti defamation league. What's a very old Jewish organization. Used to be pretty much on the straight and narrow politically slightly left. You know who runs it now? A former special assistant to Barack Obama. Where is he? Where is he? Where is the group? Why don't they putting out white papers and position papers on what's happening? The democrat party. Why aren't they condemning Bernie Sanders? Why aren't they condemning Bill Clinton? Where are they why aren't they condemning academia? Which is so tolerant of this movement. Why aren't they concerned about what's happening on our borders and immigration? Why? Because it's like the rest of the left in this country. Progressivism is their faith. Progressives. They may go to church. They may go to synagogue. They may celebrate the holidays. But in the end, aren't they secularists? Because in their heart. What comes first? What comes first? Big ubiquitous all powerful government, which you see is going to solve all of our little human issues. Something's on equal as it must be in a free society. There's all kinds of unequal stuff. In fact, you want there to be unequal stuff? I'm not talking about the rule of law not talking about the right devout, but you wanna be able to wear what you wanna wear you wanna be able to make as much as you can make maybe you want to acquire as much property as you can in the other guy, doesn't maybe you wanna go to more classes and get higher degrees in the other guy does who maybe wants to work right out of high school who knows who cares. That's what happens in a free society, all kinds. Unequal human endeavors. For the progressive. That's intolerable. He must control everything that's the only way to fantasy land. You see? The only way. So we're waiting Washington Post. I don't even wait on the New York Times, the New York Times covered up as best. It could the holocaust. We wait on the New York Times, we already know what the New York Times, we're waiting MSNBC. We're waiting CNN NBC ABC CBS. We're waiting. Where's your stories? On the growing Jew hatred in the democrat party and academe ya. Where is it? You're going to bring the scholars on the professors on who are gonna explain it. Or not. And how about you talk about the president of the United States who stands up against it. Who stands up against the Palestinian terrorists that? Hello. All the rest of the alphabet soup. Cuts off American taxpayer subsidies, which are used a subsidize terrorists. How come he doesn't get plaudits for that? I'll be right back..

"Day of trading since the resignation of chairman les Moonves stepped down late yesterday following a second round of sexual misconduct allegations and three on Thursday, Senator Cory Booker broke judiciary committee rules by releasing confidential documents about supreme court nominee Brad Kavanagh Republicans quickly threatened Senator Booker with expulsion from the Senate Senator Cory Booker is on our news line Senator. Can you explain why you did what you did on Thursday? Because there's no reason that they kept from the public documents aren't classified documents. Our national security is what I need and that they're not containing sensitive information can really just important information about this candidate. And that's been the biggest issue for me in this whole supreme court nominee hearings is that the Republicans are refusing to release information about the candidates. We only have about ten percent of this person's record to begin with classified confidential, which is just not right. And the people have a right to know about this candidate up for a lifetime appointment, but I wonder Senator even before the documents question came up every democrat on the judiciary committee had publicly proclaimed that they would vote against judge cabinet would any amount of documents change a single vote. I think that that's not the issue. Well, personnel. There are a number of people emphasized your votes are not known yet. But our constitutional duty is to advise and consent. And in order to do that you must be able to look at a person's the body of a person's relevant work and things might come out during that time, they might be of a concern to Republican and democrat, and this is an attempt on their part to high ninety percent of his record. And that's why it took the unusual step of breaking the Senate rule that I thought was unjust and unfair and whatever consequences. They wanted to roll my way, this is too important on not to push for public disclosure. I'm sure you've heard the criticism from some that Thursday was just the unofficial beginning of the Booker for president in twenty twenty campaign. How would you respond to that? Well, first of all, you're questioning my motives and not the merits of my argument, they cannot attack the marriage. So they're trying to attack the person I understand this. I'm not the only person to do data sooner. As I said, those things you heard much more senior senators, dick Durbin like dick Blumenthal, a stand up and say, I'm going to do the same thing. Now, they're not attacking no senators already a release committee confidential document, so they're making this personal attacking me. And I'm saying it's not about me. It's about the bigger issue. You know, I'm not sure you actually addressed. It was this the kickoff of Cory Booker in two thousand twenty absolutely not begging everybody to focus on the election. "Morning on seven ten w r. Good Friday to everybody were rolling right along here. So interesting developments in the les Moonves says case, Linda, you know, les Moonves says one of the most successful media executives of all time. He runs CBS, but the New Yorker hit him with allegations of years of sexual misconduct and using his power to try to get favors from women and one woman even claim that less wouldn't pick up her ideas for television shows because she wouldn't go out and have dinner with them alone. Well, it turns out now some people thought move as could hang on. But according to the Wall Street Journal, he is negotiating his exit at CBS. Now, he stands to leave if he leaves without cause as they say he stands to leave with one hundred eighty million dollars one hundred eighty million dollars. But if there is 'cause it drops down to around a hundred million dollars. Now, I law firm an outside law firm is still invest. Negating the charges of sexual misconduct on the part of les Moonves, but it would appear from this report in the Wall Street Journal that moon vez career as a high flying media executive is coming to an end. Now, they said the bulk of the money will be comprised of CBS stock. But it's it's just not a good optic that you get accused of sexual misconduct. Okay. I'll walk away for a hundred billion dollars. I mean, maybe if you and I like I'd walk away for one hundred. 'cause you violate the clause. And of course, the backdrop to this also is this very fascinating corporate boardroom fight between Jerry Redstone father Sumner started, Viacom, Viacom on CBS and les Moonves for control of the company. But it does seem that Sherry Redstone has the upper hand. And les Moonves says is on the way out. That's the fall. That's a stunning fall. Because everybody I know in the entertainment business thinks the world of les Moonves slightly. Well, I met him once, but I have to know anything, but had you ever heard any rumors or anything about him the only room. I'd heard was that about six months ago. I heard that he was being investigated by various reporters, that's all I heard, but you know, I I ran into the summer in the south of France at the hotel du cap, and he seemed aside from his fight with Sherry Redstone. He seemed to be enjoying this time there with his family and his kids, and he was very jolly and Chipper and spend a little time with with my party. So well, you know, if you're gonna make one hundred million dollars for feel of someone up now, he denies the allegations. Although. Daddy, just started her is to have a Natalie Cam on the show. Is like. Offers believable. It's like a frat house around here. Natalie just Natalie's, MRs Garrett and facts of life. She comes in. Anyway, lot of frats are being suspended these days. Not be acting like cutting out alcohol and stuff like that. Now, you told me something that's shocked the hell out of me. What you like Michael Moore? I thought for sure. Mike. Liberal snake? No, no, no. No. No. No, no. I always thought Michael Moore was very very funny while I disagree with him. Politically, I admire his filmmaking. Check, Roger and me was brilliant brilliant, man. I saw him when he had his very amusing one man show on Broadway, which was a total indictment of trumpet in a funny way. And Michael Moore turns out is a big fan of mine used to watch me when I was on theater talk on why you like him. Well, he Trump say something nice about the I like you. He wanted to meet me. So we went out for drinks at around theater district restaurant. We had a great time together. And why I admire Michael Moore. Because even though he was he doesn't like Trump, and he's got a new movie out called Fahrenheit nine eleven which goes after Trump the person he can't stand the most is Hillary Clinton's election on Hillary Clinton. He thinks she was a terrible candidate who could not connect to the working class people that Michael knows so well because he comes. From. True, very mature of you to be able to separate politics in French, very nice. You just grew an inch in my eyes foot the half. He's a funny funny guy. I'm sure this is going to be dumping all over Trump. But I'll give it a chance Fahrenheit nine eleven. All right now, I'm.

"And on the Michael Medved Show there is. Continuing controversy I mean everywhere bound the this practice of attacking, opponents political opponents are just people you don't, like sometimes it evens sports. Rivalries by unearthing their old tweets or Facebook. Postings or things they may have said nothing's they've done because everybody agrees that if, somebody has done something like as as is alleged, about the CBS head les Moonves where they're six women. Who've come forward. They spoken to Ronan Farrow who is the son of Woody. Allen Mia Farrow though Mia Farrow says now really Frank Sinatra's Israel father etcetera I. Mean it's it's really tough to. Follow this stuff without some kind of scorecard or baseball. Skirts can't scandal cards something. Like that Inanimate six hundred of come forward to accuse les Moonves. Says who is the head of CBS and certainly one, of the most powerful people in all of Hollywood even more so, than Harvey Weinstein but he's been accused of salting women he denies it his wife denies it there are other executives, around him deny it okay but this is serious. Because if you're taking women's your office and you're grabbing them and? You're squeezing them and you're making it hard, for them, to, get, away. It's called, assault that's not the case with this this effort to try to ruin people based upon their tweets and, Sean nukem who Has Is a pitcher and a particularly good one for the Atlanta. Braves I think he he did just, pitcher no hitter. Didn't he Shanmugam I think he did and, in any event. He I don't follow the National. League as close as, shit It was, an almost no hitter okay well thank you and he This is this is very very tough this we talked, about Josh hater was in, the all-star game from the. Milwaukee Brewers and he wrote disgusting tweets where use the n. words and I believe that the, the case against Sean, nukem and they're more and the trace again case against. Trade. Turner, this is is basically On involving the use of the f. word now which f. word no not that one the, f. word which is. A slur against homosexuals But Josh Peter in USA today, rights we can try our best to determine if major league, baseball Sean, nukem and trae Turner are as racist and homophobic is their old tweets that came to light. Yesterday but the only thing we know for sure is they're, morons Maybe hashtag biggest morons in sports so here we go, again almost, two weeks after Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Josh hater experience, the same you miliatiamen not to. Mention three months after quarterback Josh Allen experienced similar public embarrassment, hours before, the NFL draft and almost four months after Dante descends though scoring through a similar public backlash. The night he led Villanova's basketball team to the national championship And that's just the name of you in. All, cases it was queer a pardon me pardon me clear it was. Clear the tweeting the n., word and the slur for, game, end, for example is not good. For one's public image Hello that's obviously the gaze, at least among evolved human beings and yet still nukem pitcher for the Atlanta Braves and Turner a shortstop for the Washington nationals did not, erase the, offending tweets well they have now they have now Now seems a good time to note that twenty five, years ago Charles Barkley said this I. Am, not a role model I'm not paid to be a role model I'm paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court. Parents should be role models just because I dunk a basketball doesn't. Mean, I should raise your kids okay Good for. Him However this should be a, lesson to people especially. Very young people what what's troubling, to me, is of course there is a rivalry between, the Atlanta Braves And the Washington nationals and, it appears, that this back and forth between TRAI Turner And John Newcombe Is there were nationals fans who unearth the tweets against, the Braves pitcher and then Braves fans retaliated by finding. The tweets, about I mean this is bad And Maybe it's just a good idea to a race if you have any All of your embarrassing inappropriate cringe-worthy. Tweets from the past And this, goes pretty much for whatever field of endeavor you're in, but why. Not get rid of them and, don't, tweet no one's let's go to Joe in Philadelphia Joe you're on the Michael Medved Show Michael, thanks, for taking my call you bet Help people. Prevent, problems from happening in the. First place People just don't realize how serious it is How does your? Business well how. Does your business help? People I don't understand what do you do I walk with schools community groups and. Stuff and I go? Into, my talk to the students I? Go into my. Talk to the faculty Best practices things not to do Boy these things from happening in the Okay well that sounds entirely that sounds entirely beneficial and and how do you Of What is it that you emphasize with the kids to try to persuade them not to send out tweets with the n. word or part of this would also include like a sending out on Twitter or through social media, light intimate pictures of, yourself. Right. Absolutely it's amazing how quickly petro can be. Shared I, mean if you assume that person it to shares one other person which we know they've only ninety four share with. Everybody they know after only ten, cycle five hundred people have seen it so it it's. Amazing but what I do is I show them real world examples of people who have done things have gotten them fire or in some other beds. "It here's a rewind of the Mark Simone. Show already in progress one on the. Board but if you have a decision that, we can, get your show on the air don't you think that Mansur choosing self no it's not a. It's not a courtroom in on CBS board you want different skills on the board. You, want some, guys. Who are business geniuses financial geniuses, and some, guys who are programming geniuses because sometimes you gotta, make programming decisions not Leonard Goldberg's one of the biggest producers of television in the perfect choice for the CBS board well we'll disagree okay but that's. Every company has that you know apple has on its board guys business. With apple but they're brilliant guys in the tech field and Leonard Goldberg also kind of guy you want. On your board. Because should you ever lose. The CEO he's one of the few guys who could jump in and take over, so that's something also one on your board guys who can help from the company if they have to. But, it's interesting les Moonves not going anywhere He's going to. Try to fight this to the end we'll see what happens anybody ever. Actually get a job off linked in out of all the big social media sites that is the worst. One that linked in I mean it's the You know if you make friends with somebody what happens if you accept their invitation all you do is, get nothing but spam from them and ads job pitches I don't know if anybody ever actually got a job unlinked in so it turns out according to a couple studies that today's millennials or even older lots of people, of all ages, lots of people, now looking for jobs. On dating apps that is now to them the most. Productive place for job. Search dating apps from tender to bumble to match to whatever they go on there and often the profile the personal say what they do. What business, they're in I'm an executive in the advertising. Business or something like that so fill used the dating app to. Meet this person 'cause a lot of times if you search carefully through these profiles you'll. Find some big executives who are exactly the people you'd want to meet you could try to. Meet them unlinked in and it's. Not, gonna. Work, or, you could call their office or write to them. Try, to get? A. Job interview but, that that takes forever and then you're in the middle? Of a million people. But if, you could go in the dating app and meet that guy for a, drink or dinner then you really got some face time with them you've got. A much better shot at the pitching yourself that way so they. Find that this is not only going on in American all over the world lot of people using these dating apps, and are being very successful at finding jobs through them let's go to Mike in Hawthorne hey Mike yeah Mark let's move wipers on one of those talk shows yes Julie Chen yeah what they say all Harvey and all, these other people, criticize would they, I on a boat You know well she did defend her husband, and she was on on the, air yesterday and but she. Gives you one of those he's a good husband he's. A good father he's that may be but again wherever the mobsters arrested killed one hundred people the, wife what does the wife say he's a good. Husband he's a good father hey in very often the big mob. Guy is a very good father member casino with Joe Pesci good yeah he was a. Great father member casino they said every morning when you get home at six that's the kind. Of guy gets home at six. AM, from. His, carrying, on on every morning at six he'd make breakfast. For, his kids? He. Beat a little, league coach any any would but at night he'd be? Strangling and stabbing people Busting their head open. Sleeping with everybody but he was a good day That doesn't, mean anything, you know a guy was a vicious killer and you said, you know he's a great Colfer You can't. Be a bad person at something else and. That's often, the case you know you get the worst guys, in prison, they're all good something Sure the. Worst killer in prison Very good in the gym he's. A great great at working out, so everybody is. Good at something but that doesn't that doesn't give.

"I'm ever gonna, make and then then the audience goes what can we listen and. Pay close attention to the. Audience's, reaction to Julie Chen at the. End, of this clip listen carefully Some of you. May be aware of, what's been going on in my life for the last few days I issued the, one and only statement I will ever make on this topic on Twitter and I will stand by that statement today, tomorrow forever It sounds very sort of like like speaking truth to power it's like no, Honey your husband was credibly accused of inappropriate behavior and Propositioning female employees for sexual Activity in? In. Exchange for a. Job yeah go like that. That is not nothing right like you might feel very convinced that, your husband didn't do anything but it's just a weird statement to make To be sort of like strident Hoots, in the haulers Jill you go what does that say to the woman who put her name to this report in? The New, Yorker that. Accused, him. I mean multiple women yeah exactly So that was just very, very tone-deaf to me in a way, and also the fact that she says this is the only time he's? Going to say anything and, what she. Said we'll always stand and it's. Like, but what if more women come forward are you really, saying you're not. Gonna change what you have to say because as a human being I would I don't. Care, who. You are Yup married to les Moonves as the head of a network but I don't I think there are things that less could do that. Would, make her change or two yeah exactly and just because you know? Your husband, in one light doesn't mean he's capable of. Behavior that, is an in line with the way he acts like did you not. See. How this, all went down with Harvey Weinstein you know Bill, Cosby or any of the other men I mean they weren't doing. This to their. Wives which was kind of the point yeah so anyway that was Julie Chen's response to her husband again I would? Give her, a little? Bit, of Leeway because it's her? Husband but there was somebody, else who, made a statement that we should. Listen, to somebody who's close to les Moonves who finally responded, in that Stephen. Colbert let's have a little listen to part of his conversation about this just yesterday everybody. Believes, in. Accountability until it's their guy and make no mistake less is my guy he hired me to sit in this chair he stood behind this show. While, we were struggling to find our voice he gave us the time? And the, resources to succeed and he has stood by. Us when, people were mad at me and I like working for him but accountability. Is. Meaningless unless, it's for everybody whether it's the leader of a, network or the leader of the free world We'll be right back so like that was I think a far better. Statement but at the same time is there, not something about that statement that was sort of how God what's the word Competing like okay here would be my test. I worked on CBS and, I was going to make a statement publicly I would not want it to come off Like I. Would want it to sound like something that would come from a competing. Network sure do you see what I'm saying Familiarity with les Moonves obviously Stephen Colbert. Unless move as have a close relationship and you could tell that but it was almost. Like. He was like bending over backwards Point out how grateful he is an all of those things have not denying that any of, those things. Are true but if you're going to take. A. Moment to use your show as a platform to address something that is so completely unknown at this point it is we. Just have the tip of the iceberg really I just, think I would be a, little more reserved I would say the these allegations are terrible More shall be revealed and.

"Just a short time ago. We heard from CBS chairman, les Moonves for the first time since this allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced Moonves speaking on a conference call about corporate earnings in many were eager to hear if he would address the allegations here tonight. ABC's Eva pilgrim. Tonight, CBS CEO, les Moonves silent about the sexual misconduct allegations against him that have rocked the network. He's run for two decades. Good afternoon, everyone. And thanks for joining us today. Speaking on a public earnings call only about CBS financials, moon vez in control and praised by at least one investor. It's amazing how much you've diversified CVS revenue over the last three to five years. No one asking him about the New Yorker expose were six. Women came forward, accusing him of offenses, ranging from unwanted advances to sexual assault. This as CBS hires two prominent female attorneys to look into claims against him and the culture at CBS or earlier this week CBS films, president, Terry press struggling to reconcile the moon vez. She knows with the allegations posting this statement, I do not believe that it is my place to question the accounts put forth by the women, but I do find myself. Asking that if we are examining the industry as it existed decades before through the lens of twenty eighteen should we also discuss a path to learning reconciliation and forgiveness does his wife on her show defending her husband. I assured the one and only statement I will ever make on this topic on Twitter, and I will stand by that statement today tomorrow forever. But the LA times reports the CBS board knew of at least one separate allegation reported to police months ago involving moon vets. The unnamed woman claiming he sexually assaulted her three times in the eighties, but the LA county district attorney's office determine the incidents are outside the statute of limitations. CBS and Moonves are not commenting on this latest allegation, but Moonves has denied assaulting anyone or misusing his position of power. So Eva pilgrim back with us tonight. And we know this moon is still is in charge. CBS. Well, this independent investigation is now underway, but as for that commission, he helped start. Eva has has chosen to step down from that commission. It's a high profile commission made of top media exacts aiming to eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace. David, he turned in his resignation to the group this week, Viva pilgrim continuing to cover the story for us, Eva. Thank you tonight day three. In the trial of former Trump campaign chairman, Paul Manafort Heidi Wauschkuhn testifying today that she processed manafort's, personal and business expenses. She was the bookkeeper, but testify cheat did not know about more than a dozen accounts. He allegedly held overseas. There is still much more ahead on world news tonight. This Thursday, the first American company now worth a trillion dollars. It happened today and you might have helped also look at this image is today that daycare scare playing out a man barricaded inside chilled. Children see very young. They're escaping through the windows officers, lifting them out the amber alert in late today. We go on a Thursday second day of August the Pat mccrory show we're both tops in the, hardest working guy in radio in a suit and tie today looking sharp which you rarely. See here in the WBZ studios But I'm honored to work with, them and we got a lot to talk about today in fact in about ten minutes we're going to be talking about not the Russians, but people, in, North Carolina did do Russian like activities regarding dirty politics one Republican and one. Democrat both very close, to power, in North. Carolina and we're going to expose these two individuals that is coming up in. Our second, segment here on WBZ's Pat mccrory show starting, off today Ohio State coach urban Meyer placed on administrative leave after alleged silence on. A domestic abuse situation we've talked many times I mean less moon vast apparently might make some, comments today in, a in a call about. Earnings so we're we're. Waiting, to see what he's, gonna say, but perhaps might we hear an apology coming. From urban Meyer in, the coming out I. Would not be surprised it'll be interested in if we get the urban Meyer into the I'm so, sorry uncle Albert Hall of fame it could be Becoming I predict at least by Monday this could. End up being a twofer week now you did bring up les Moonves right I did apparently. I did not, get the job with CBS. These making like Seventy five million dollars a year I. Said I'd do it for twenty million, dollars? I went. Down. To sixteen million dollars and they still wouldn't take my offer He. Said he'd be stockholders would save over one hundred million dollars a year by paying me only sixteen million. Dollars a year I won't go any lower than that I was. Mayor for a hundred. And forty one thousand dollars a year handled riots handled hurricanes cut taxes did everything. Mayor fourteen years at thirty. Nine, thousand dollars a year did a good job I think I could handle CBS for sixty million dollars a year. And they didn't they didn't make the offer well I think their stock is. Draw everybody's interested today because he is going to be on an earnings, conference call so he we may. Actually hear, him speak about this for the first. Time I might try to interrupt that call or at least extend your deadline You know I've got pride I've gone down from twenty to eighteen. To sixteen million a year I was. Turned down for the NFL he makes like. Forty five, million dollars year I said I'd do it for twenty and. Handle the, national anthem situation I've I've I've solved much more serious problems in this guy was CBS and the guy with the NFL but apparently the stockholders CBS don't care so maybe their earnings will go down today I don't know, one of the problems or one of the situations you were part of mediating and working through was the very serious situation almost two years ago in uptown Charlotte. With the riots following the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott an. Activist that was charged with being part. Of the crowd that did a good bit. Of the, damage to patrol cars and other buildings and infrastructure and uptown Less than two weeks before glow Mary weather was scheduled to go to trial the charges have been dropped we have learned yeah and apparently they're saying well only thirty five thousand. Dollars, or so left of damage but what glow Mary weather did was coordinate this whole riot which resulted in me. Having, to, call the national guard against mayor Robert's wishes so our city wouldn't be torn to shreds anymore, but what they don't mention in the. Newspaper articles here is blow wet where Mary. Weather in coordinating this riot first of all heard a lot of businesses not just those three nights but for weeks to come because people for short time quick coming downtown plus the cost probably well over three million dollars to bring the, national guard and the highway patrol and firefighters I the total cost as well over five million dollars that miss Mary weather caused to the state of North Carolina China. And the, city of Charlotte and all the tax payers North Carolina and to help pay for the national guard. They weren't repaid by the city of Charlotte. Due to this disturbance that. Was coordinated by. Globe. Blow Mary weather and, I'm, gonna do some more checking on globe Mary weather to. See what her past experiences has been in riots not just in Charlotte but throughout the nation and we'll maybe do a future, story on. That she had been in relation to this particular. Incident two years ago she had been charged with inciting a riot which is a felony and misdemeanor assault on. A government official, the DA's office yesterday filed, its notices of dismissal saying, it had insufficient evidence to take the case before the jury I wish the newspaper or other media would come out and go what's who who pays her who gives her instructions because. I guarantee if she's not by herself I I I'd put money on it that she probably participated in some disturbances Against me in some of the protests in Raleigh ashville Durham, and so forth because they were usually the same ten. To fifteen people that wanted to get on the news in calls violent disruptions that was their goal this is, what the Russians want our people like her involved, in our American democracy very sad that choose not being prosecuted straight, ahead on the Pat, mccrory show you say, North Carolina has its own Paul Manafort Paul Manafort. And Russian activists they aren't rushing but they do the same types. Of things by trying to disturb our democratic process by I think very deceitful means one's a Republican one's. Democrat I'm on can expose them coming up after John Stokes live in the news center with headlines Houston police believe. The suspect of the murder of the one time Dr a former president George, H W Bush held a twenty year grudge against the cardiologists because his mother died. While being, operated on by the doctor search continues this morning for sixty five Joseph Pappas a federal appeals courts deals a blow to President Trump's, executive order threatening to.
