"There is well enjoying Legions of the aliens that are also chatting as they watched the show. So it Kansas. Just feels like there's always something Les Miles ends up getting jammed up here recently because the report comes out. That less had had personal relationships with female co waves back at L s u. Now, he insists they were not of the sexual variety. One of the women insist that Les Miles tried to kiss her, but here's where I come down on it. Less insists he was just trying to mentor these young women. Well, that feels weird. I mean, imagine Your head football coach being a mentor. To just regular students on campus. Just any students don't have to be female. You'd be like that's kind of weird, but okay. We don't hear a lot of stories. About football coaches being mentors to students on campus. I know what I was. It s you. Paul Pasqualoni was the head coach. There wasn't some mentorship program I could have entered into to hang out with Coach P on Tuesdays. I went to his press conference weekly. Might ask him a question. My senior year at Syracuse. Had been named sports director of the student radio station, which allowed us to have a one on one interview through the football season. So I had one on one interviews with Paul Pasqualoni once a week for the 10 or 11 weeks or so. And never once. After that interview, did Paul asked me So How's school going?.
Kansas splits with athletic director Jeff Long two days after parting ways with Les Miles
"Get you updated on what is happening in lawrence kansas. Where less mild was let go the other day and then this afternoon the man who hired him and presumably let him go has also been shown. The door crisslow joining us on that story and others. Chris thanks for the time. Always good to have you on and give us the latest. How did how did how did this happen. So quickly with jeff long. It's great to be with you. Always i I really felt like we heard the news about less miles that this was just it was going to happen with jeff law and just did not senior way. He would survive. I think what happened in a lot of donors a kansas at the end of the day. The president a chance to learn. Douglas giradi heard from several influential donors that they just did not want to be the guy to hire the next head football coach and i think when you look back sort of having all the down with less weight ended there that The more that they thought about it. And i think jeff athletics look long enough to know he said in a statement. Today was going to be a huge distraction more hung around and and they wanna make a clean break. Bring somebody else in to hire the knicks head football coach. Oh by the way they got issues the basketball program. Well they certainly do. And i saw her. Danny manning announced that he was a contender for the ad job. But as we. I don't know whether tennessee is the template but you do need an athletic director to get in there. Fairly quickly don't you. Yeah you don't the what's your proverbial tail wagging the dog. So yeah you gotta bring somebody else somebody. And it's going to be the ad someone that's that's gonna be the football coaches boss. I tell you name to keep in mind. Travis goff and northwestern we went to kansas undergrad. There how highly respected and sort of in the world. And he's a guy that you're going to hear a lot of push for from donors from influential people there k you to bring in to come in higher this the next head football coach. I think a guy will be certainly equipped to deal with. What's going to come their way on the basketball front as well talking to crisslow chris. Let me just take a step back and go back in time time to lsu and unless miles and after this information dumped the other day and learning much more about what happened down there and what didn't happen. I'm curious as a reporter who has covered so many scandals in so many so many big stories in college football just your your takeaway from from the progression of that program with with joe alita and less miles to to really where it is now and where does it go to try to clean up a rather tattered reputation. Yeah you think back to two thousand eleven ten years ago paul. Lsu's on top of the world now. Granted they lost alabama national championship. But that was a great football team In in a team that was is elite as it gets and now here. We are ten years later and they won the championship last year. But a lot of things off the field. A lot of things going on you know you. You always felt like there at the end of his tenured. Lsu that there was a lot of people. They're out to get him. When i say out to get him that wanted to move on. I just felt like they could do better. But as you know you know the sec. As well as anybody yeses. He thinks they can do better. Except for maybe in tuscaloosa And i think the some of the political forces around lsu sorta helpless. We're on his side to leave. Certainly it and four games the sixteen season they got it in. You heard jimbo. Fisher's name all sorts of aim. Tom herman the end up with a lot of people felt like that was never going to work with all the old winter national championship last year and really a great job assembling people going out and getting staff around in but now here we are off the field with this complete invested in investigation. As some of the way things have been handled with sexual assault domestic incidents going back before was head coach So you're right. There's there's a lot on their at lsu Just like kansas. You've got issues with the basketball team as well So it's It's a mess right now. We'll see where it all

"It just means more facility. Commitment also means that like the kids. He's recruiting now. They don't remember. When i was state wasn't good now. All of a sudden these kids only remember iowa state beaten top ten teams in bien nationally. Relevant so i think you know somewhat like bill snyder. i'm i don't think iowa state was as bad as case date was before bill snyder but i think he has if he wants to do it. I think he could be there for the long haul. That's exactly the name. I was thinking of that. He could be there. Bill snyder. i mean more more more. A more recent example would be Early currence right. Like somebody who i remember. Kirk parents used to give river jobs all the time. And then they're just reached a point where everybody's got accepted like nope he's going to be our coach for as long as he wants to be There's probably Like you said if ohio state came calling that's a different story. But i just i believe that he's not somebody who's looking to hop jobs and and he was in the big twelve title game this year. He could get back there this year. It's not like he's he's relegated to irrelevance if he stays there. I think fills a different situation in that as long as cincinnati is not in the power. Five there's gonna be a ceiling to what they can accomplish and i mean. Any coach wants to compete for playoff spots national championships and event if he keeps winning at cincinnati that that kind of school is gonna come calling so you know the the best hope. Cincinnati has keeping fickle forever's for the big twelve to call tomorrow and say guess what we've decided to expand in your first on the list but short of that. It's probably a shelf life there right. This question from andrew. And i think andrew has the answer his to me Sumers which teams do you think were hurt most by the craziness of the twenty twenty pandemic influence season based on the momentum they had from the following the pre prior season. I'm thinking of school like cow which finished twenty nineteen on a high note culminating with a big win over illinois in the red box ball. That had a lot of stars back led by quarterback chase garvers who is expected back in twenty twenty one to lead the bears. They try to bounce back from a disappointing season. Thanks andrew stu. I'm gonna agree with andrew on cow especially because they played their first game basically against ucla like twenty four hours notice and got you know kind of blown out But beyond cal. Who else would you say. Fits in that category of really got derailed before they had much of a chance to most of the ones that come to mind in the pac twelve because they have you know almost fake seasons by the end of it. I mean cal. I did their stay. The program piece last year like there was every reason to believe they were about to have a big breakthrough season with who they had coming back. Had their offense is coming back and and like you said like when they finally played a game. It was with defensive line. That had been quarantined for two weeks and never practised and ended up. Going one in three In you could say that about a lot like arizona. State very excited for jane daniels sophomore season and they end up playing four games and But i will say this. I feel like you put it as like hurt their momentum. It seems to me with all the seniors that took the extra that like. It's not quite that. They lost momentum. And it's never gonna come back. It's like they're getting a mulligan. Cow still has almost their entire offense coming back arizona state. If you look at bill connolly's returning production like half. The pac twelve is in the top ten. So i think it's being viewed more just kind of a blip cal actually had a great recruiting class this year. Now the one. I will always say you'll never know how different it might have been if not for. The pandemic has penn state was dealing with the same circumstances. Not making an excuse but they. They played that cotton bowl year before they ran for three hundred ninety six yards. And at that point we were under the impression that all four of those guys journey brown mccain ricky slade in devon ford raw coming back and one by one they lost all of them except forward and they started own five and it was a disaster and they also lost the best player in the program. Mike parsons opted out and came out to los angeles to basically trained for the draft. You're taking arguably the best defensive player in all of college football off before the season so there's an opt out the other one that had a ton of opt-outs was lsu. They came off a national championship season. You lose the best receiver in college football. Angie march chase. You lose one of your best defensive backs In carry vincent. They lost tyler. Shelving lost a bunch of d. lineman So i would. I would add that. And i don't know how much i don't think they were going to be eighty two given all the other guys a loss just to the draft anyway but they had a ton of opt-outs but yeah i agree with you on penn state. Just the the turns that happened in the running back room in addition to michael. Parsons was pretty one more. Stinson comes out in their first game..

"Your other company Bob stoops is gonna fill the shoes left by urban meyer on big noon. Kickoff thoughts feelings very excited about iowa's. I'll be honest. I didn't know Bob stoops's son. One of his twin boys drake is a good receiver at oklahoma's in the middle of his college career. I did not. I was skeptical that he would want to come fly out to l. a. or beyond the road every week I'm really glad to hear that it's happening. I was excited. When i heard he was out here a few weeks ago. to have like a rehearsal audition or get a feel for things You know. I think it'll be fun. Obviously with fox's footprint in the pac twelve big twelve and big ten in. Bob was a really good safety at iowa and obviously spent a long time at oklahoma so he's very entrenched in Especially the twelve. So and that's good and look i mean Urban meyer really cared about the show like he was really cared about big noon and all aspects of it and was very prepared and and i think bobble probably be different in in how he is on air and how he fits into the show But i'm excited about. I think i don't know who else if you're if you're fox. You could have gotten to say hey. We need to get another coach. We want to get a big name and somebody who can do. Tv and who's relevant. There's really i don't know it was either to me. It felt like. I don't know this is not like the bosses told me s but it's like kind of bob or bust. I don't know who else you would have gotten who who has the gravitas won championships Is well respected and i to me. It doesn't hurt. They also as a defensive guy and sees probably things from a defensive perspective. Because you know we have two quarterbacks and the aforementioned reggie bush on the set with rob stone so it's not bad that we have an old safety and defensive coordinator to be there. Yeah i think you're right. There was no there was no possible. Plan b who would. Who would you know made as many headlines or you know garner as much interest as him you know he didn't interview with jason kerr sierra kilometer. You can find it on the athletic athletic by the way if you haven't subscribed already use code dot com slash the audible to get a discount annual subscription I just think that he's the only concern. So in urban meyer at hired. I remember thinking. Are you sure you wanna do that. Because like michigan fans watch that show too and he's kind of polarizing in but he was so good at it. I think people got over that pretty quickly but you will have a similar dynamic. Fox's the red river game every year like they'll have oh you texas and if in other ou games. I'm sure to if oklahoma were to lose the texas this year You know and it comes down like a bad. coaching decision. Mean he flat out said in that interview jason. He's not going to criticize lincoln riley. That will be interesting things. How do you deal with urban ready. Deal with exhausted. I never lost Right i mean. There are only losses under ryan day. Were in the In the playoff when you guys are off the air by then so like. I don't think it's going to happen. But if oklahoma were two eight four next year that would that would be awkward But other than that. It's really good. Mailbag time as always send your questions to the audible pod at gmail.com. Let me let me let me ask you this one. Bruce is from nathan in boulder student. Bruce i keep hearing that matt. Campbell and luke. Fickle are waiting for the perfect coaching job to come available. What would that job be for each of them. Isn't there a risk in waiting for the perfect school. Instead of striking while the iron is hot. There is a risk in that But certainly everything you hear from people close to look luke fickle is he such an ohio state guy it would be ohio state There's a lot of appeal. Apparently he has for notre dame. Obviously both of those jobs are filled by coaches. Who are in really strong positions right. now I don't know if he would if james franklin were to ever leave penn state penn state place. You would consider. But i think that's about it I wonder if luke. Luke fickle and matt. Campbell are kind of in alignment because matt campbell is an ohio guy. I don't know he's had opportunities to get big jobs and he has nfl interest. I wonder what honestly. I don't know the answer this. I mean if if ohio state would have to say hey if ryan day where to go to the nfl. And they were to go to matt campbell. I don't know what he would say. But i just don't know what those jobs are. If you're matt campbell that are going to entice you. I don't see matt campbell wanting to be the head coach at usc. I could definitely be wrong. I've never had this conversation with him. But you know. I don't see matt campbell wanting to be in the sec. Either so I think he could have been the head coach at texas. Didn't you know he didn't seem to want that. So i don't know if i was an aiops fan. The extremely happy with how these things have developed an honestly the longer he is there and i speak to him more than than a speak. I'm speaking really about matt campbell situation more than luke pickles but the longer matt campbell is at iowa state. I think the better chance you have to keeping him longer because it just means more recruiting classes that he has been able to build..

"You don't have good good of a recruiting areas. This is a job. Tony elliott actually wanted so georgia tech. It's yes let's go. Let's go terror. George attack won the acc one year. All use there. They went to orange bowl. They almost jameis winston the orange bowl. That's not even what i'm trying get out here. I'm just trying to get kansas to six and six. That would that would be progress and this would be a way to go them. To forty eight would be progress. Do you think. I think i don't want to too far down the kansas rabbit hole but like i felt like we were awarded them in his last season like they actually were starting to show progress. I looked back. I thought they were better than they won. More than one. Big twelve game. They didn't but they are actually competitor competitive and they end up scored forty points. In oklahoma that year puka williams was a freshman. And so i don't know i. I'm saying if i think if they hadn't fired him and brought in last month to be a state like they might have gotten that six season wasn't that far off but now you're starting over again so now the list. I've talked enough about monk into the triple option. You mentioned some really good coaches who yes. I think they would be fortunate to get. Yeah i i definitely agree. And i some of these guys i know specifically they want the job question is will jeff long because none of the names are sexy none of them are. But hey right now you're kansas. I do want to say just on the point about beatty. We did a game his first year. My tv did we went in. There was like an eleven am kick. It was like driving into a doctor's office that you wanna talk about like that was probably as close to a game in this slide. Kind of what. It feels like in the pandemic to see a game. That's what that felt like. There was just nowhere atmosphere to it at all They almost beat patrick. Mahomes and texas tech. I mean they hung with him at one point. I felt like they could have won the game and they had nobody because he he took over. After charlie weis charlie weis at a loaded up on somebody junior college guys. They were so depleted scholarship wise. And just obviously they pull the plug. I don't think if they kept david batty. And they're another three years that they would be eight and four. But i definitely think they would have been better than they were under less where you know this past season in the big twelve. There was only one game that they were then three touchdowns and that was at the end of the year so We'll see what they do. I mean my guess is it'll be some combination of of monk in a landslide polled and willie fritz fritz. The coach to lane is from the state of kansas and has done well where he's been. I think any of those coaches would be a big upgrade and You know we'll see what they got on the bright side if if what you're what you want to have happen happens They do have a mobile quarterback who probably would be pretty good running the triple option or looks like he would at least bring some. You know would be somebody in place to be able to do that. What else is going on. But i do wanna get into before it gets in the mail by going to get into your mailbox. You've got an interesting question. That i think is a podcast gold topic which is about the ten most exciting players you've ever covered and obviously we overlap on the time except for maybe i have maybe five years of covering it so that got. This was pretty fast. Yes so the context is that at some point in the last week. Taeb on austin the great you know former west virginia player tweeted a graphic that somebody else clearly made of the ten most exciting. It's at the ten most exciting players of all time but they were all from two thousand or later and he was number two like. Hey what does everything. And of course people didn't like it terrible list etc etc. But i still don't know who actually made the list. He just he's the one who put it out there So now let you go through the domino. I'm gonna so tom in chicago asking for mine but he did. Thankfully say didn't have to be of all time in my time covering the sport which dates to nineteen ninety eight all right. I'll run through mind real quick number one michael vick. We'd never seen anybody like him You know it's funny because you at his stats now. And they're very modest compared to today's dual threat quarterbacks. You wouldn't have known it at the time to reggie bush. We all know how exciting he was. Three johnny manziel i just. I don't remember a player who whose body moved quite the way he. He didn't turn his escape ability. His like Houdini instinct and then he would throw the ball. Forty yards downfield to mike evans vince. Young one man wrecking machine. It's crazy after after one three. I feel like we start to differ. Okay i start to go. We know your number one cam newton because every time we do not it is not it is definitely real thick description. And fi- four vince young. Five cam newton six christian mccaffrey. Seven lamar jackson eight. The combo of pathway steve's late night west virginia number nine percy harbin and number ten von osten honorable mention. Tim tebow saquon barkley. Denard robinson. d. Anthony thomas and recency bias may be. I don't know devante smith I don't understand. I when i saw tim tvos amazon. It i was like i didn't. He was obviously a great player. I don't remember thinking. He was like particularly exciting player. when i think of exciting that's he's definitely not one i would have thought Well he doesn't fit it the others in that he was not going to break a fifty yard touchdown at any given moment and so people miss why i never. That's why left losses it. Yeah i don't it was a fella goes an event when he played right. It was exciting in that like he. He was very unique now. He was of basically a fullback playing quarterback so he wasn't going to produce these huge highlight runs. And that's your soul criteria for most exciting than yet. He doesn't even belong in the conversation. I thought of it more as I think i could him. Because i've got these guys like vince. Young cam newton who played in his era and he was as successful as those guys were and he was he was as big star if not bigger and he was. You know somebody you turn on the tv to watch. But i would agree that he didn't he doesn't fit the like threat to score touch touches. The ball category okay. So i agree with the order. Your top three. I'm to me. Michael vick was phenomenal to watch. He was must see tv. Reggie was was was pretty spectacular. You would say. Wow i mean it's just even still seeing some of the highlights you say. Wow johnny football was you never know what was going to happen with him on the field And i was kind of a phenomenon unto himself. I think those three were there Lamar couple of guys in your top ten. I definitely other guys. I definitely grew. Lamar was awhile. I wanna i do want to throw out some names. That i feel like i would have included. Patrick mahomes was not on great teams. And maybe i'm biased. Because i got to see him in person a lot but he would make you say wow with the stuff he could do is just insane stuff This next name was probably bo. Might be before your time but i think people forget what a what a phenomenal player. And what an exciting player. Who wasn't the big ten and that was antwan. Randle was my son. When he was very exciting he was like kind of off the map right you. You weren't watching indiana games on on tv at the time when i certainly remember the highlights. Yeah another guy. That i thought was a wild factor to watch was was honey. Badger tyrant matthew. I remember told the story before. But watching spending the week with west. Virginia as they prepared for the lsu defense and how much time they spend.

You're never gonna win a title. You have to go to the shitty you can. I just don't care about title fucking title. You said you would kill your mother to win. A title as a fan won the title as i. Don't give a fuck give me. The money made me the starting quarterback. Whatever happens happens. You have any of these tidal go to alabama to win title. You went to alabama for dodge charger. Two hundred thousand and make it in the nfl. Derrick henry said he was paid championship cares. Nobody actually cares about the titles about the other stuff. I don't believe they tell reporters about the titles. I think they do. I don't think that it's i sign with almost one in five starts with auburn monies. I for sure right for short. But i do think that titles does sweeten it a little bit. I don't think so. I do katie. I think there's a bigger ones not really. You can't put money on like parking spot. Free food not having to take a drug test. Ooh that's a good one. Katie drug drug test test one's a big one drug habits now no no guaranteed for. I mean like get they get popped for marijuana so yeah i think part. That's that's i couldn't come up with a parking spots other no but like not just like a five star recruits. Give somebody to drive your own campus now stuff like that. I am a golf carts. They had to walk from the dean dome to go by their parking spots. Talking like pardons by at your classroom outside your house outside the classroom. Let's let's that's another thing that i would need not. I'm not going to class well. She was north carolina. So that's true there's class checkers by the way We've seen in the hall hallway that wrestling show last week and our boil by house. Like hey take it easy on my instagram girl. You had to make the perfect the perfect college football baby. Who's the mother. Who's the father not as a player. Great looking kid. Oh man you usually has pretty hot people. No i was saying specific people. So you have to pick your coach. I think this is a pretty much a kind of a problematic question. We get to answer the rock. No college football coaches coaches right now. It would be like pretend. The rock didn't play for years at the university of current.

"All right. What else we got so there. You go tom. Allen got extended. I think in the end of might be setting themselves up. I mean thinking about indiana a lot. Yeah never might be the most overrated team in the last twenty years so what they did they nobody they just hung with ohio state and we had them up in the top ten like i think they might be drinking themselves with tom too big for their britches is probably the best gatto. The mansi i would. I would agree with that. But i don't think four point nine million for time allen like twenty twenty seven two i just i just don't know man. They were not a good football team. They were the absolutes result of circumstances to have that six to record this year. They were not a good football team. Thank you. They weren't even good. I'm not. I'm not saying they weren't top. Ten top twenty five in the country and they ended up very very high. I got home from florida last night. You know the first creature to greet me in my house was because you said creature. I assume it was your sam sam said creature in your time your children that'd be upset or my wife. Sam is growing up. Oh boys getting to be a big ole pepper. And he's healthy because you use scout's honor smells good. That's the thing. I mean i love. Dogs dogs are more important to me than human beings because they love you and they're so stupid when they smell. It is not a good time. "Next time you're at your team stadium right and you're having a good time and you want to know those players. You're watching down there rooting for you. Know how why they got there. I just want to turn around and look at the sweets behind you. That's why the players are there. The people in those sweets. That's why am has suites twelve of them specifically much more but the twelve founders suites. That cost the first year. Twenty five million dollars piece and sold out within twenty four hours. You're telling me that those guys are throwing some cash around some oil money. I just again. People are so sensitive with that stuff. I'm going to say it once. Say billion times. You're probably right that the nc double a. has an inkling early. Somebody in there has a conscience as we need to pay these guys what we don't really want to pay everybody because some of these sports aren't profitable let the fuck and players make money off their likenesses and this would not be near as much of a problem. Yes there will still be under thing. I don't think that would make. I don't think goes away but i do think that will make it more normalized because if you say to. Somebody like justin fields last year. You're like hey listen like you can go sell your autograph. You can go do whatever you want. Sell your cleats cellular jersey much money as you want. Then he's going to be more like okay. Fine yeah booster. Probably had to give him money to go there. But then you know if you're a good enough athlete you can make money off of how good you are. Just feels the smartest guy in the world sign with georgia. Left went where he wanted to cash twice. I mean that's you know how h cheating around in this this one year transfer. That's what we're gonna we're gonna see guys sign sign sign for one bag. Go get another one. I said this when you were introducing it. But i'd like to double down at trouble. Getting one hundred. Eighty eight stays I think that's the going price at least half a million for for running back one hundred eighty k. For i think. I would assume that would be a good market. I don't understand that that's on to georgia's been so good at running back. They also had sunny michelle. Why why just let go. And let's only michelle be. The guy had horses. I mean his rookie. Contract was five. Point eight million guaranteed. I just one hundred eighty. These didn't he. I think for you. Sugar sugar tongue. Boosters coaches can make it seem awful compelling and he come out of the statement didn't he. Yeah he denied it and then like the georgia blogs all like when when nick chubb talks you. Listen i mean what although what is the. What's the double jeopardy with that. Is there like a statue of limitations. With because i know i know i know he needs to deny it. Because if there's an accusation like what didn't i mean cam. Newton went on hbo. And like no. I didn't take money and just looked at the camera and like smiled and winked Yeah they say it's an ongoing investigation mile. I know everybody's gonna roll their eyes. When i bring up this person again but i mean johnny manziel said on the podcast with me. I just took straight cash. Homey no you like at the nc double a. Tweeted it like alva- what can they do about it. Now go back and take it away. I think it becomes more a money issue. Because if you were given five hundred thousand dollars of on track money then it's an irs issue you have back taxes and whatnot so they that may be why they stay silent because we even had derrick henry who went on boston with the boys. Our one of our podcasts on our network and they asked him did you get paid and he said. I got paid and championship rings. Which i mean like i. I don't think that's true now. Transitioning the alabama. I didn't know this. But there's some really shady stuff with paul bear bryant junior fair style bear bryant junior founded a bank when he was twenty five years old in nineteen sixty seven then he got a much bigger charter in two thousand five created bryant. Bank he's made investments in various companies and made a lot of money. And what i was saying was that that's how they funnel the money that goes through that bank. Which would which is like i mean. It sounds like it's and i've made this comparison before we're talking about. This is like organized crime stuff. It's like it's crazy and you know there's fifteen boot like boosters alabama as a whole the board of trustees fourteen of them have photos on the university of alabama website. The one guy who does and it's paul bryant junior. Guess what that. Nick sabin could Could drive a limousine full of cash. To the middle of a high school old in birmingham alabama. Get out of the limousine fulla cash handed to the quarterback and say come to alabama quarterback signs and the nc double is not gonna do a thing and nick sabin. We'll be in the national title game next year. That's what's driving. Dabo could do that right now. i think. I don't know ryan day because like he urban could've but like ryan do. Do you put ryan day up there right now. Just because ohio state is not gated. You'd be replaced there. There are certain coaches that could just get away with with recruiting quote hyperbole. murder and the incidental eight wouldn't care. I don't think the paul bear bryant junior stuff is fucking like it's a movie It sounds like an awesome movie. I'd watch really private. He doesn't do any interview. I mean he's the son of the most legendary alabama coach ever of course next kind of put the stadiums named after fi Brian he has a statue all right so does his neck so other schools are out on. Nc double a two lane. Tcu north western wisconsin fresno state usa notre dame. I think they're on the wrong side of history. that's stupid and the eyes of texas will continue played. it's been announced also complete side note but related. Did you see what. I what i sent in the group text about the eyes of texas. All your. yeah so. We talked about that last week. No no they. They came out today and said an investigation came out today. That google that exact thing was available. I think that point was last week that the song itself isn't racist but it was used in used in a racist way which i think is like just stop playing the flooding. Well here we go back to the boost that is. I think i've landed on somewhere. The boosters want to hear it. it's not a racist song play. the song. Don't make the players saying don't make players lineup let players in the locker room. If you wanna play play it but don't make the players participators don't want to have anything to do with it. Don't make them just let them go locker room. And then you play whatever you wanna.

"In georgia. But you cover him direct. He was october days because he was in. South georgia north georgia. But you hear about him. You hear about the things yeah. He's another one speaking of less like a lot of investigation he is. I don't believe he knew he was being recorded. So he's talking to somebody else Td club president. And they're talking and he's laying out. How georgia cheats. How they're throwing money around and this is who they're doing. This is the booster involved. This is how they get people they offered. And when next job was gonna go pro one hundred hundred and eighty thousand sixty three payments of sixty thousand to stay at georgia. Not enough for me to stay. And then and then there was also a follow up tweet of him talking about alabama as well so the alabama self was. The album oriented listen. I don't know if y'all thought i was joking. Or if people out there listening to podcasts. And i know you guys know. I don't know if you thought i was joking. When i said kirby smart change the cost of doing business. He's they figured out the recruiting game. They they're they're deep in this. They're investing more than anybody in recruiting game right now. Georgia isn't getting number one classes because kids love athens georgia getting number one classes because they are doing the things you gotta do in recruiting and folks the things you gotta do in recruiting in two thousand twenty one our money money cars close and maybe some more and that's not just twenty twenty one for two years ago airticket over forty years i. It's the fact that people are still shocked or higher ago about like. Oh my school's cheating hello. Every school is was in a bowl last year. Your school is cheating. If your school wasn't a bowl your school's probably cheating. Your school plays in the southeastern conference. Your school is cheating. If you're a school plays in the big ten. Your school is cheating. Big twelve cheating. they're all cheats twelve. I don't know but every acc you got to keep up with clemson. Guess what they're doing all right there kirby smart and all around the east coast. This is this. And i've always thought the ncwa kinda knows that football players need to get paid because of their value. I've always thought the lake high enough. They'll step in every now. And then i kind of look the other way because this keeps them if they had to pay athletes they'd have to pay allies in every sport. But if you kinda just let. The inmates run the asylum and take care of the players. The players will never have an uprising because they're actually got money on the side. Well that's something that i feel like. It's easy to. They're turning a blind eye but then all of a sudden they'll get involved with something really fucking stupid and you're like maybe we're giving them too much credit turning this blind and here so one of my favorite responses are multiple on the tweet or georgia fans and alabama fan saying. Oh he's got got to families. I've really trust him. It's just a bitter old coach. Let me tell you something. Exactly who knows what's going on prosperous is exactly. He's been at major. There's a reason he gets keeps getting hired at major high schools across the south. He knows where the bodies are buried knows where the shovels are all right. This is the guy who's helping your coaches get these players. This is these mega mega successful. High school coaches in the south. You think they're not sitting there when the bodies are buried there sitting there with a shovel. They're sitting there right beside curbs mar right beside those guys are profiting to. I'm not saying rush purposes ever private. I don't know but trust me the if you wanna start throwing around these moral things about oh. We shouldn't trust this guy this the dirtiest ones you trust the most in recruiting. Because they're all doing. And i saw a response is saying. Oh he he's mad. That saving didn't hire him or he's been begging kirby for a job or whatever it's like guys this is the guy who would tell the truth no matter what and the two families saying i hate whatever people use personal life arguments and stuff like this. You know we see it happened here at bar so it's like oh well you did this in your personal life. So why can we believe you about fucking baseball. It's like those two things don't have to be connected at all and again. It's not just the sec. It's the big twelve. It's the big tenants they see. It's college football. Everyone is doing something to try to get a step ahead and these big time. High school coaches are involved. So here's here's the proper response. If you're georgia fans. Somebody says curry smart is cheating. You say cool hope he. I hope he keeps cheating. Because that's that's the world that you live in now as a mississippi state fan. I love when they got busted with hugh freeze with the hookers and a couple of years ago and they were cheating their ass off and they were driving one hundred and fifty in a fifty five But the true reality of it is oh mess got busted and they weren't doing anything alabama georgia florida tennessee or anybody else was doing the. Ncwa selectively stepping in and stopping some teams from doing it while turning a blind eye and football or the alabamas the georgia's of the world and not turning up and then turning a blind eye and to the dukes and the carolinas and the kansas of the basketball world. I mean that's what creates all this so does only bros when he says alabama and kirby are doing this with the money. Hell i can point you to the money guys in mississippi and maroon and blue. I absolutely believe it and not maroon though. I was just kidding about that. Well i not that. I both sides be rational. National college people here in ohio state. Fan or a big. You know you're involved in ohio. Say you can point to the ohio state money guys. If you're michigan view are clemson like everyone knows that. Let me tell you a secret for the next time..

"Did this happen during the. I guess there's guys was under the under orange run. I was recruited by less miles. I was when he was under les miles. Quote the fame. Not the infamous quote from coach. Oh and that usa. Today report came when either that season that coach took over or he was still like the assistant coach and he was the true number. Two guy there at that time. The fuck is getting away with all of this. So guy stuff. You have the children's hospital stuff. You have mountains upon mountains and last year when edwards roy moore national title. Everybody in the world just sucked at the teat of l. s. You not love him this that and the other lsu sounds pretty corral. Deep dive would be very interesting another deep dive because we're just swimming in shallow water ear and unless you opted to have a coach who was inappropriately contacting girls they knew about it and they let him keep coaching for three years. Not only did they know about it. You have the athletic director saying we should get rid of him. It's not like it was like. I don't really know in the best interest. We should get rid of him. I found him guilty of all of these things and then just not do it. How the fuck like. How can you look at that. And i know we have a lot of lsu listening to this podcast. And i've said this about. And i believe you guys would say it about your programs to like if anna was if there are people that were being accused of something bigger than sports at am i not on. I don't know that would never happen today. Because i know there are people. There are assholes everywhere. If you're lsu fan you've got to look at this and be like holy shit that's really like you can't stand behind this. I mean this is not about. This is not a statement about lsu so statement about college football much. We place on us. I think if you're winning national titles see titles. It's a lot more fans than you would think would say i'm fine. I hope not. They might not say publicly but they're they're not dropping their support the like. They're still going to be there on saturday even if the guy if they find out. That guy is an asshole. But he's winning. they're fine well. I think there's a difference between being an asshole. Nick sabin can be an asset. Well that i don't. I honestly and i mean again i can only speak for myself but if it comes out that the head coach of of my college football team is inappropriately doing anything with anyone but let alone students. I wouldn't like go coach. Go i'd be like well the needs to change. I think i assume you would to you have a daughter. You know how that it just mind blowing to me. That not only did the school not do anything about it which we've seen in other places too but that then he gets out of. Lsu he gets fired he's not games roasting works in network television then gets another division one on one network. Tv hiring him and How did we. But because lsu didn't make the fucking report public I'm gonna say that. Jeff long could have found this out. You believe you think that. Yeah if it was. If you're asking you have to trust who you're who you're dealing with and if you're asking lsu guy okay and they don't share the report with you then what how. How could you know they. They believe the report didn't come out even when he was being background. Checked because it would have made. Lsu look bad and they would rather helpless miles. Get the next job and and just keep it under wraps then make lsu look bad while protecting the people at kansas. Yeah the i guess. This probably wasn't a secret right. Like i say that we've never heard anything. That's worked in the sec directly. I've never heard anything about this. In fact you hear the opposite like when you talk about less mileage like oh he's such a nice guy like i've told a story that i had to spend like a week at lsu and that everyday he would be like hey like you know. Make sure you get a smooth like. He would make sure that every person that worked at. Espn would also get to use the facilities the athletes so he was always over accommodating and so i again in my instances with him he was always very nice. I never so much as heard a rumor that he could be creep ever now. Maybe i would just but like you feel like you're right about other coaches so so. Lsu is either that corrupt or that. Good at lying. But i jack. I do tend to agree with you that if i saw a bunch of scenarios on twitter today about kansas. But there's one of three things that are possible and the biggest one to me is like they didn't do enough background checking because i have like. It's twenty twenty one you get higher. Twenty twenty twenty nineteen so six years later like i feel like somebody if you did enough digging it'd be like hey listen. He did kind of have some issues at lsu and wasn't well yeah. I mean it's an accusation to say that. Oh jeff long new this and still hired him but then again you guys are two very well connected. People on didn't hear that. So i don't know i guess i when i heard it that i was like oh kansas probably either one didn't do enough of a background check or to care. They didn't they. I heard and they thought it wouldn't go public and it wasn't that big of a deal that keep students away from him soon female. Lsu gave them the information. i think they protected. That's a possibility. Here's my ignorant question. Why did it come out today or yesterday. fly. Now freedom of information i would. Somebody just decided to leak it in the middle of march. No i think because there's a public school that was so long ago. Why now aren't now. I think we've all that out. I really let's talk about it from a football perspective because we all agree that you right less miles doing that shit. Absolutely but kansas hired him. I'm going to operate on the assumption. Kansas just was unsuccessful in finding that information. That's what i believe happened. It's neither albert quiet. Lsu quiet to protect lsu. That's just what my opinion is our so he gets hired which should be held responsible for by the way he gives kansas two years right. I think i speak for everybody. When i say i thought miles was going to be a success at kansas. I thought we were gonna look out five years from now and they would be. They would be you know succeeding. Maybe not a championship but now two years in he has to disastrous years and his career effectively is over. he will never. You will never be a head football coach again and on top of that. I don't think that he'll be an analyst. Either no careers. His career in the in. The public is probably. Oh i mean he. Less miles probably has plenty in the bank. Probably going to live out his life. And i'll say this everything he's accused of is is not good. It's not it's not right now it's not it is. It's from two thousand thirteen. The chance that he is better now exists the chances that he made a mistake then has not repeated. That mistake excess. So i'm not going to say this man never deserves to have any happiness again in his life. He obviously made some mistakes and we have now found out about it. Eight years after the fact. So i'm not going to bury him totally. No but i do and again. We don't know what said behind closed doors. We don't know how bad everything was to me. If you're capable of doing those things and then you are enabled by not getting fired when the athletic director straight up says we should get rid of this guy. I don't i mean you're right. We don't know what he continued to do. But i just think it's a bad look in general and then to be honest. His statement didn't necessarily really strike a chord to me that he feels sorry for what he did. So.

"I before last miles kinda do is probably more important. Let's talk let's talk about the first of all. I have several takes about this less miles out. Yes set it up less miles out at kansas. They've come to a mutual agreement. Kansas less mile said you know what let's just say go work so less is out but this all stems from a report that went viral last week. Where lsu looked into some things and this was this was just a report that went public right. This report was done back in two thousand thirteen where less was being inappropriate with some ladies of some some students. He was inviting female students to his condo. He just wasn't doing the right thing. So let me read this. Take it from one long time. Staff member told investigators the culture did not change after miles head in two thousand thirteen. According to the report attempted to sexualize a staff of student workers in the football program by for instance allegedly demanding that he wanted blondes with the big boobs and pretty girls think he'd like this podcast also in two thousand thirteen miles exchanged numbers with a female student under the guise of helping our with a career in sports marketing but told her to use an alias and he would do the same with her number. He suggested the same woman hotel condo. She said he kissed her twice there. All reports by nicole auerbach of the athletic. It just gives me just such cringe chills. Because i believe it a thousand percent and the fact that it happened eight years ago thoughts here. Okay and i'm just going to let the thoughts go as i think. Okay we'll get to less miles a second. How many how. Many coaches are doing this across the country. Unfortunately i think a lot i. I don't think this is unusual behavior. It's disgusting but i don't think that it's a fact. It's not just heard there sounds like something that isn't going on now. It's not just somebody will say. Always excuse it not at all. I'm saying we probably could look into this more places. Just what i'm saying. One thousand percent agree with you. In fact i know of other instances. I think that there is such a at first of all. I don't understand if you're in a position of power like let's say less miles because he is the subject that we're talking about right now why you would even think that you could a ever get away with it and be that. It was a good thing to do. I don't understand that level of ego. I don't get it like these are. These are students. These are essentially children and yes. They are legal. I get that but like what. Are you doing having a female student. Come to your condo. If you're the head football coach of lsu and then trying to kiss her and thinking that's not going to go poorly okay. So my next thought about this report was made in two thousand thirteen. Yes they gonna fire last mile since two thousand thirteen did not fire him till i believe two thousand sixteen and they only fired him then because they lost auburn. They weren't pleased with their progress on the football field. The only reason less miles ever got fired. Louisiana state university is because they didn't like how many games he was winning. Yup that guy. If he were winning games he'd still be the coach. He lasted three more years. So how long can lsu continue to get away with shit. The fact that they had and i mean every time you see investigation. Investigators like it's just like oh somebody was looking into it. Somebody was told something like they thought that this was such a problem in the culture in two thousand thirteen. They had to investigate it and nothing happened. So the athletic director. Then joe alava sent to to incoming lsu president f king alexander which is just a ridiculous name. King alexander bobbin king. Thanks for the call today. This job of the director. One more time. I wanted to think about which scenario is worse for lsu explaining why we'll let him go explaining why we'll let him stay proactive or reactive. I always believe that people are innocent until proven guilty. And in this case i believe is guilty of insubordination. Inappropriate behavior putting university athlete. Department and football program at great risk. I think we have 'cause. I specifically told him not to texts. Caller be with any student workers and he obviously didn't listen. I know there are many possible outcomes and much risk either way but i believe is in the best interest of the long in the long run and make a break. The court of public opinion would favour us the courtroom on july second. We will know more but the fact remain the same. Thanks joe alava center. June twenty first two thousand thirteen to the president again wasn't fired until two thousand sixteen. Lsu at the very top level made a conscious decision. We're fine if he is doing this with young ladies that our students because he wins football game which is the definition of not only being complicit but harboring a culture where you're less miles in that situation and i worked around less miles. He was always nothing. But nice to me. So i mean obviously like i've i've been around that him a little bit but like if i'm less miles and i'm told that i'm guilty of insubordination. Inappropriate behavior putting that all those things. And you're not gonna fire me okay. I can do whatever i want. And let's not forget. I don't know the exact timeline. But i'm just thinking based on when the guy played so there were some serious accusations of sexual assault against darius guys and maybe some other than the lsu program and.

I don't understand how you guys all do a podcast together without killing each other and i realized that our reputation precedes us. 'cause we always talk about howard dysfunctional now. People outside of this room how dysfunctionally are but we. We actually do like each other right. I haven't fucked. I can't even hear utah. I have a taser in here just in case you act up. I can't believe so tired of your face..
Kansas Coach Les Miles Out Over Behavior With Women While at LSU
"And hello and welcome back. We continue to talk about the situation in kansas Formerly lsu were less. Mild is under employed in case. You missed it earlier. The headlines of course have been screaming since last night that les miles in kansas have mutually parted ways. That's a rather benevolent way of putting less were shown the door. He had a disastrous. Run there but it was what happened. In two thousand thirteen at lsu that ultimately got him fired. Reuss feldman has covered less miles for a very long time in bruce. Thanks so much for the time shafran we want to talk to you about including your pizza just hit about the the nfl mock draft. But let's start with less miles not a surprise. But what do you think Finally pushed kansas over the edge and And did away with less after what has been coming out for days if not weeks from baton rouge untenable this the idea. Kansas jeff long's the ad there obviously sec. Fans will remember from his time at arkansas. It's just been an abysmal run. And the fact that has searched process get less miles there in the first place was kind of a jolt in kind of a head scratcher but now after what had come out from Over the weekend. And friday from the lsu part of this. I don't know how in twenty twenty one kansas could say. Oh yeah we're okay with that just even if you look at the wording on how jeff long explained the move last night it was just like we got to win more games. It was like wait a minute. There were some really Disgraceful actions that are alleged against less miles from his time at lsu. And i don't know how they could look the other way with a straight face and say okay this a guy who the lsu administration had clearly put some you know unique situations around him and stipulations in dealing with people and some of those allegations are so troubling and so disturbing. I really think they had no choice but to move on. And the wording parted ways whatever they just had to make a change and get him out of there. And i'm suspect at some point in the nazi just future an after avenue. Ad as well. Yeah that was. Obviously a lot of people are going now and you know jeff. Long didn't exactly distinguish himself at arkansas. Were shown the door there and surprisingly or maybe not. Surprisingly the program has been on fire under hunter year. Check but i mean how can you. How can you possibly keep jeff long on the job after mean and football's only part of the problem. The basketball program has been under fire for years. Exactly i mean there's issues with the ncaa and the basketball program ac- basketball is a bigger deal there than football. But i think in this. It's so many issues. That are layered together. And i think it's the tone-deaf aspect Jeff lungs long relationship with last miles The allegations in the things in those investigations about less. They are really disturbing. Act act especially as they relate to student workers there. I think it's really troubling and the fact that k. You in jeff. Along the way it was explained. Even if you look back i think over the weekend. Less miles attorney gave us gave a statement that i think makes may kansas look quite honestly even worse that they kind of knew about it and that they were okay with it was almost like well because other people were alarmed by now that it was that it was something that was like shouldn't have happened just because of the perception on it i just think it all of it is made that tenure. Look so sketchy. And i just don't know how your kansas how you don't kind of rip the band aid off at this point and say hey we gotta make a different a different move here. I just think right now you look at it yes the. Ncaa extended the dead period much longer. So they don't really have to rush in through this coaching search process. But who's going to be making the new head football coach higher in this. I mean this is a lot of stuff for the kansas administration to sort out as they move on not just from last miles but i think as they move in a different direction for. Who's in charge of the parliament.

"We've had quite an opera quite an afternoon Talking about the situation with with less miles. And i do I think before we get to our next guest. It might not be a bad idea to to go over some of this and we had Kenny jacoby on earlier he is the reporter who broke most of the this with his Fellow colleagues at at usa today and it's a confusing story. We'll try to piece it together with you as simply as possible too long reports over almost one hundred and fifty pages so we ask kenny. How involved where the board of supervisors that's the board of trustees and lsu they signed off on Less less miles is You know private written reprimand for these allegations against the students And and that's what a lot of the students. I've been speaking today to as you know. These people have known about these issues for a long time and nothing has been done about it until now in until it appeared in a national newspaper. What exactly we asked kenny worthy accusations against less miles less miles was accused of sexually harassing At least two if not three or more Student workers who worked in the athletic department He essentially wanted a role in personally interviewing them and selecting who would be picked and any what we learned today is he had a preference toward blonde Women with large breasts Who were you know particularly attractive. He he wanted this. As a way of sort of selling it to potential recruits selling the school As far as the sexual harassment. What we what we learned is that he you know when he hired these Young women he sometimes offered them To help their careers later later. Down the line after they graduated and then kind of turn that into a more personal relationship with them and and then ultimately one of the women said he kissed her alone when he was driving her in his car One of the other students that that was mentioned in this report today said that she had a very traumatic experience when she was alone in a room with him and alleged some sort of unwanted touching and and Decide such a profound impact on her that she basically up and left. The big headline of the day involves joel He is athletic director. Who wanted to fire miles. But ultimately he did not the athletic director who found his conduct so disturbing Back in two thousand thirteen that he said he thought they could fire him over with 'cause but instead they essentially swept the thing under the rug didn't tell the public about it Gave him a private letter of reprimand and made them attend counseling by then kept them around for another three years until he started losing games. So if that doesn't tell you who really you know has the power and the influence at that university It's hard to say what does and finally we ask kenny. How widespread were the problems these problems. Lsu were pervasive and not just limited to members of the football team or or athletic department. There was a neglect For for providing the proper and appropriate resources to be able to handle sexual assault and domestic violence complaints appropriately There is severe understaffing But when they did even you know process complaints often they would result in basically slaps on the wrist. You know students who'd been found responsible for rape Being allowed to stay on campus under probation so that that was earlier there reporter. We just got through talking to Kanye jacoby is is out with a new story with his team and he telegraphed this when we talked to him but the the new story involves students at lsu there they seem to be about the only folks outrage columnists or calling for miles to be fired at kansas. I mean that's not gonna matter so he's only he's only won three games there. I'd calling for the athletic director to be fired. They're both of them probably will go. I don't think they can be able to withstand the heat but according to a kenny latest in usa today the students on the lsu campus are very unhappy so far the school is announced to administrators. Will face suspensions for their failure to report but students are now saying that that is not enough The co founder of the student group tigers against sexual assault saying there's a myriad of people who need to be disciplined. You can't recognize that you've failed. And then keep everything the same and keep the status quo Lsu has launched it lsu launched this investigation. Not because of something they they felt needed to be rectified. They launched it after the reporting by usa today and in the world and forty eight page investigative report revealed today they pretty much acknowledged that

Independent investigation finds that LSU routinely mishandled allegations of sexual misconduct
"Louisiana state university on friday will release a report on the schools handling of dozens of sexual misconduct cases. Since 2016 lsu commissioned the audit amid a usa today investigation that found widespread mishandling of sexual misconduct allegations by the athletic department. And also the broader administration the investigation specifically revealed that the university conducted an internal probe in two thousand thirteen a former head football coach les miles over allegations that he sexually harassed student workers and made sexist comments about others. After miles was accused of texting female students taking them to his condo alone and at least on one occasion kissing a student and suggesting they go to a hotel after telling her he would help her career though. Miles has strongly denied kissing her allegations against miles where i made public after usa today. For the records in january according to the investigative report miles was also accused of sang. That female student workers who helped the football team lower top recruits should be attractive blonde and fit and that employees. Who did not meet that. Criteria should be given fewer hours or fired.

"80. You can always hit us up on Twitter by handle Coleman, ESPN, Ian's Hannah and Fitz ESPN. Man. We saw this report, according U S. A today. In a 2013 internal investigation. Accused former Ellis You coach, Les miles of inappropriate behavior towards female students did not find the Les Miles had sex relations with any of the women. But signing investigation, Les Miles was accused of texting female students. Taking him to his condo alone, making them feel uncomfortable, and on at least one occasion, kissed a student and suggested go to a hotel after telling her he could help. Her career. Yikes. The person I had that story joins us right now. Kenny Jacoby USA Today investigator reporter he is here. Thanks to get your hotline, Kenny. When this story comes across your being comes across your eyes. What are your thoughts about this whole thing involving a guy like that when it comes to Les Miles? Yeah, I think this case is It's not something that you see very often You know, there's there's a lot of intersection in college sports between sexual assaults and On S so when we heard these allegations, it definitely raised our eyebrows and we started reporting on it right away. People have not read the piece that you all did in USA today, and it's a it's a fascinating and nauseated read all the same time comes across the dirty, creepy older man nauseatingly flirting with coeds. Give people the background as to what you guys uncover in your investigation. Yes. So back in 2013, while Les Miles was really at the height of, um you know his his success and his influence and had just gotten a big raise from the school, making him the fourth highest paid coach in the country. A few students came forward to their bosses in the athletic department on told them that miles had made them uncomfortable based on a few different interactions, Um, one of the students said. That he she began receiving Facebook messages from from Miles and that he had personally interviewed her for her job as a student worker and said, Hey, you know, maybe after graduation, you can come work for my personal business. Um, that that turned into them having text conversations and miles, taking her on? Ah, driving his car alone, where she said that he then kissed her twice. On gonad Other student who also complained, said that there were just a number of phone calls and interactions with miles that she felt was inappropriate. There was analogy ation of unwanted touching, but it's you know. It wasn't necessarily substantiated, although it wasn't disproven either. Um and and ultimately ls you banned him from Interacting one on one with student employees anymore from from texting them on drum calling them You need to call me one of the people that wrote the story in USA Today, titled Former L S U Football Coach Les Miles was banned from contacting female students at the 2013 probe, joining us in Freddy and Fitz Simmons on ESPN Radio and extra Channel 80. Now his attorney, Peter Ginsberg. Said the report puts an end to the baseless, inaccurate media reports. He's hoping to release the report is going to put an end to this, but the results come out on Friday. Whatever the results are going to be The court of Public opinion will have their own opinion about this. Whatever reports come out. What is it going to be like in terms of Les Miles trying to go forward Candy from this? Yeah, So that's you know, it's an open question. What happened was we had sued a U. S. A today sued. Ls you for a copy of this report and for over a month, miles was fighting in court himself to keep it from being released. Yesterday before it was released. He put out a statement basically saying Now we wanted out on dis report is gonna exonerate us. And that is not what the report did. In fact, ls you did discipline him? It did not fire him or suspend him or anything. But he was issued a letter of reprimand and order Tol. Attend private sessions with an attorney to discuss appropriate boundaries. Now the next step is tomorrow. Um, l s u R is unveiling this Massive investigation into the whole school's handling of sexual misconduct. Complaints on that report is expected to contain even more information about miles. Which we don't even know the full extent of s O. We will see that tomorrow and then it was sort of beyond Kansas to decide what to do after that. It sounds like this could get even worse from being dirty, creepy. Nauseatingly flirting, old man, You know Les miles too. You just mentioned there and we could this be get even worse for Coach Miles? Well, I mean, what we've heard is that what we reported today is not the full picture there. There's more to it. S o. You know, as that is Thies allegations are that we've reported today There are more eyes. What were we've been told on We will see tomorrow what else it contains about miles. But there was another news outlet that had reported he may have had a settlement with a student who had said that he was hitting on her. So it's well we'll find out You need a Kobe USA today Investigator reporter joining US and Freddie and Fitz Simmons on ESPN radio. The ESPN happens except child. 80 also read in this report, Kenny that he wasn't the only one, according to accusations and reports. That was engaging in not behavior like this, but inappropriate behavior. What did you find out? Yeah. So Are are reporting over the last several months has found that L s u has mishandled sexual assault cases. In general. These are cases involving top athletes. People like Darius guys, another guy who played football Drake Davis and then just cases involving normal students. On Git was our reporting back in November That prompted ls you to actually hire an outside law firm to do this big investigation that's supposed to be Revealed tomorrow. So I think this investigation is going tol that these problems at Ellis you go. You know, throughout the whole university on band, as this report demonstrates, it goes to All the way up to one of, if not the most influential person at the school when he was still there, and certainly the highest paid person there real quick. Kenny before we let you go. He's a head coach of Kansas..

"Welcome you back and We we told you the story that we were coming on the air today. That has just come out of the advocate in baton rouge By our friend brooks being an andrea. Gallo who is one of the top investigative reporters down there under the under the heading. I'm choked up. Just thinking about this Los miles offered a secret settlement to an lsu student and it has now surfaced andrea. Thank you i know. It's a busy time and we appreciate very much you making some time for us. Good afternoon. And i think we're all pretty eager to learn more. What can you tell us. Thank you so much for having me paul. It's great to be here. We broke a story earlier today and reference the headline Less miles offer a settlement to an lsu student. We are credibly told by multiple sources. This happened about a decade ago. She was a student intern in the lsu athletic department who accused plus miles of hitting on her and after that accusation happened he reached some sort of settlement with her though. The terms of the settlement are not publicly known andrea. I'm at my jaw at my josh dropping. As you say that. Even though i've already read the story but the head football coach at lsu not the current but the head football coach back then hitting on. Did you say an intern. Yes An lsu student intern in the athletic department. And i realize you may not be able to to elaborate in great detail but when when you talk about a settlement is a private settlement from less miles a private citizen or is that something. In your in your estimation the university took part in great question. So what we know about it is that there is not from what we've been able to find some sort of easily traceable public court record of it which there would be or should be if the university played much of a role in it however if if it was only less mild himself who offered the settlement on a personal level than it would be much easier for there to be less of a trace of it. We also ran this past. Lsu today because as. i'm sure you know. I'll also going through an investigation right now. About patterns of sexual misconduct and botching their past investigations into these sorts of things. And that's how this whole mild allegation has surfaced and lsu's response was they have heard about the settlement but that they were not a party to it and they have not seen it. That would be to indicate that lsu's involvement what not necessarily direct. However what we also know is that lsu had an outside law firm taylor porter. They frequently contract with For these sorts of things do an investigation into less miles around the same time or maybe shortly after this settlement came in. Usa today reported this afternoon that that would they sexual harassment investigation. Well andrea joe. Lever was the athletic director. If i remember correctly so i know a lot of people are probably asking scott woodward about those who is currently the he was not there of course but and i'm trying to establish that because as we move down the road here into other investigation which we're still waiting to hear more about you know one of the big one of the parts of that. If i remember correctly involved the culture down there. I mean this plays right into that. Does it not. That's exactly right paul. I think that it goes to this. Larger question of how you handled allegations largely from female students. Many of them who either worked for the athletic department or who were student athletes themselves Many of them made allegations. Things like sexual misconduct sexual harassment. Even domestic violence rape sexual assault and there are a lot of questions that blackwell report is hopefully going to help answer about how those situations were dealt west and largely those all happened under the tenure of joe aletha as athletic director. As you pointed out we reached out to joe the today but we have not heard back from him. I know in the story. There's not much chatter from from kansas. Where we're less miles is the head football coach hired by jeff. Long who formerly was at the university of arkansas. Did they have anything to say. Out other canvas. I believe offered a statement to usa today earlier. They told kenny jacoby over there reporter that they did not know About these allegations whenever they hired plus miles and twenty eighteen. We should also note that we reached start to last miles ourselves. This morning my worker books could be a called him and he denied any sort of wrongdoing. or any sort of That he ever made an inappropriate advanced toward a student injury. I'm not being salacious here. But i mean these are fairly serious allegations Do we have do you forget me. Do you have any any idea. Where the phrase hitting on her came from that is the phrase that our sources who had been directly briefed about this settlement used. That was their term. Not ours story. We felt like it was best to quote them directly rather than to try to speculate. You know what what exactly the meaning of that phrase was. I'm not trying to act like a blind to all. I think pretty obvious what that phrase means for a coach les miles. I'm guessing right now to try. And he's i think he's sixty seven years old so he would have been in his late fifties at the time and we're talking about.
Vanderbilt-Missouri is the first SEC game postponed due to COVID-19
"We welcome you back. Our is live and underway busy busy I our. Thirty minutes ago we learned that the first SEC game has been postponed of this twenty twenty campaign it will be. Rescheduled Vanderbilt Missouri scheduled for this Saturday in Columbia. Now, be December twelfth. We'll talk to coach drink in thirty minutes and get his reaction to that. So here we go more phone calls in a minute a lot of fans unhappy from every aspect of the winners and losers speaking of the latter. Let's talk about the Lsu Tigers two weeks ago Scott Rabble a came on. Wasn't ready to hit the panic button. Everything was calm. Scott's gotcha very scopes. Scott Seen It all before. Scott. Have you seen anything quite like the ending of Saturday's game? Good afternoon how are you? and got to the NFL Yeah that's that's you mentioned I'm kind of reminded of the and it's not a good time Lsu that ninety nine, Game Alabama when just food he tried to run the ball down like. John elway. Pin Wheeled in the air came up a yard short and and they you know they they threw the ball and the they did it. They didn't score. So yeah, it was. It was reminds me of you not good times for Lsu but you know. I gotta say the way lsu played Saturday. On defense but also on offense failing to convert a third down there really is kind of justice. They didn't really deserve to win that game I, mean they they you know they pulled it out and they would've pulled it out there. It would have been a win that covered up a lot of a lot of issues. So what? I don't know if it's safe to go outside I. Mean I know I know the version fortunately escaped the worst of the storm the other day was farther to the West but I mean what? What what is the buzz in your town especially both Pallini and and I mean three games in he seems like he's on the tip of everyone's tongue is it fair? Oh. Sure? Yeah. Absolutely. I mean this is the this is the defense that You know this change Dave Randall left defensor longtime defensive coordinator WHO's hard under? Les. Miles. You know the several years ago he left me the head coach at Baylor. So they had to hire someone like forced out or anything. So hopefully knew who was here under miles and those first three great years in the Mouse Oh, five Oh, six Oh, seven the end up with a national championship and you know just it hasn't worked at me. This questions is Bo behind the Times is not adjusted to those are some great defensive back then with Clinton Dorsey and Tyson Jackson and and you know you're a great players like that got a little on Landry secondary great players like that, and you kind of wonder you know the Adjusting but. It's just been Y- coaches you're on himself is trying to put it all on him and the coaches and they got a coach better. You said that, Saturday, after the game you set it on his press conference today, they just lost followed. They're they're good players on the Stevens, their high NFL draft pick on the defense Derek Stanley Jacoby Stevens to real cox the transfer for. North. Dakota. State people said he might have been a first round draft pick. Had He come? Out and said of transferring Ali Gay Defensive End they lost a lot of great players, but this shouldn't be this bad and aurons You know famously said, then the all season, the defense look better in practice than at any time last year, and obviously that is not the case and they gave up eight plays a twenty yards of more. Missouri averaged almost nine yards per play and five and a half yards per carry it and it just that's just not. That's just not winning football and worst of all they all she just looked. I saw gene gene Chizik said after the game. So you. Look, like on Defense Soft and lost, and Lsu looks like both unfortunately for them. By, the way everything you just got through saying you could replicate for three or four other SEC schools except none of them are the defending champions like Lsu. Scott we're three games in I. Mean we all know that and I'm not sure how much you can value. A. Win Over Vanderbilt Right now considering the state of that program. But as you look ahead I, mean you don't look any farther than this weekend against Florida. LSU will need to score seventy points to keep up with them. Immediate? Looks. That way and I'm not a betting Guy Pa, my government I think I've looked at the over maybe go for that Florida's defense looks pretty challenge to Alabama wins and gives up forty eight points to stole miss. But the the disturbing serving big frail issue. Yeah. Everyone's having trouble defensively No question. Do you wonder if that lack of spring football or the proper time to prepare in the off season has hurt them But you know you look at that once you give six, hundred, twenty, three guys and the Mississippi State, history has been dreadful offense against Arkansas and Kentucky the last two weeks Missouri scored like I think three touchdowns combined the first Games averaging like fifteen points a game against Alabama Tennessee and it just go wild lsu just look great. I mean that's that's the part. That's that's extra disturbing prelates pans and like the lsu fans always. Always wanted this offense obviously, they complained for years and rightly. So by the the plotting less miles offense, but there's a lot of pride in the school, the the the the billy cannon is the star up in you know and and now Joe Borough and players like that. But the tried is always been the defense, the Chinese bandits, Tommy Tests Inova Win Dorsey Laurent Landry mentioned, Patrick, Peterson, Taran Taran Matthew, and what else he doesn't play Great Defense I. Think this is this is like a core value of lsu's program that is not being being held a lived up to, and it's it's very troubling Tila lsu probably would take a little less offense for some better defensive as. Scott Realistically I mean this weekend looks like a long shot I would have to say I mean still Alabama. Out There Auburn out there. South, Carolina am I mean everyone knows the schedule? I mean before the season some might be hard to win them all but maybe maybe eight or nine. Where's the sliding scale right now? Ball I don't know it's sliding really. Really. Bad way down the hill. You know a lot of hills here in Baton Rouge but he found it. It's sledding Hill that way. Down Victory Hill Yes for the team marches down normally before the Games by Tigers stadium is not vitriol right now I I like everybody else said like the six games else who's GonNa win and four games where the season's going to be decided Alabama Auburn Florida and Texas a&M, and right now I don't think he can after South Carolina just banning by the same score Lsu did Arkansas has played. She's gotTa go to they'll South Carolina, comes here in in two weeks I don't I don't think. There's any Sherwin left for L. Share on the schedule I don't think they're gonNA go one nine but I think right now you just gotTa. Look at what can you do to have a have a winning season they're still good players There's on this team in town they lost a lot from last year obviously, but you know the they've got to. Change, the things coach today coach talk today about simplifying both offense and defense. Again remember the offense was Owen on third down Saturday that's a pretty bad step to although this court forty-one points should have been enough to win, but it's still some really great players on the House Brennan. Has Not Been, Joe Borough, been very good. You know he's had over three hundred yards passing game over four hundred yards Saturday tariffs, marshalls been tremendous hit two, hundred, thirty, five, yard service and three touchdowns Saturday. So this, this isn't good players in the team, but they just got to get tougher and and find a way to grind out a win somewhere and and this is not entirely similar fall I gotta say from twenty. Dissimilar from twenty seventeen she lost at home Detroit and went to Florida the next week and they won the game I'm not saying I'm not predicting she win. But this have the size, a lot of field of that when they kind of looked tougher and more determined and they found a way to win and they've never looked back games on order on, they're gonna be hard pressed to avoid doing that obviously late this week. He had I wouldn't call it a charm to existence because now that you mentioned the troy game and there had been some ups and downs but certainly coming off the best year ever how is he handling the defeats? A He's he's trying to take a lot of the blame on himself and deflected from his team Not exactly deflecting from the assistant coaches said, he's talked about, hey, on defensive we just have one coverage and one one formation. Let's do that. Let's and you said. Some things on offense too. I think he's kind of talking about Scott Lenihan, the new guy, a passing game coordinator WHO and Red Zone specialists who take the place of Joe Brady who who was on the staff last year and of course talking about Botha? Lenient? Coach, and he said something telling today I thought that you said, you know the most Ryan. The defense but he he's he's going to you know be checked in on every formation every plan that they use you know as a defensive line coach that's his forte he he's going to be I think maybe a little more hands on with the formations they use and the and the and the coverages, and but some of that are doing well, he's Got Thrown out I think that. This is the defense he wanted this is he talking about being wardrobe four three and they've got a great. Turn of Russia there plus six turnover ratio they're doing very well at that the they're causing some some big plays in that in that regard and turnovers just can't get off the field and can't Can't stop people and giving up a big big yards on the ground, and then these these huge places. The elected eight plays a twenty yards or more Saturday and gets very, which is
