"Have to talkto Ted Leonsis and his family about that one. I mean, here's the thing. You can throw up Ken Baltimore support another team knowing you're in the D M V is all the same area. Listen. Go up and down 95 or too old too. I do that on my own my own. And if it doesn't take me 45 minutes like that splitting hairs, it's not exactly You know the Yankees and the Mets. They're across a bridge. If they're no cars on the road I can get from Yankee Stadium to where the Mets play in Citi Field. Could probably do that. And, you know, 10 15 minutes to put on how fast I want to go. And so there's candid, supported yes, doesn't make sense. Business wise for the league's No. There's a reason that the Baltimore Bullets and yes, it's been a long time is a reason that they went down the road to D. C. Guess my next question is is Okay, but all of D C Literally the hockey team. Supported by Baltimore fans. Why can't wait? Why can't we have our own team up here? You. You you. You basically answered that question. You know the answer. Why you asking me? You know what bulls down to the region for the same reason that nobody is going to move across the street? From the Dallas Cowboys. The same reason that you know James Dolan of the New York Knicks wasn't thrilled that Oh my goodness, this team is going to jump the river even though they're in another burrow. Like when you own a professional sports team of slow dumbfounded why you asked me that you know the answer. You have you have regional rights? You can't just dump a team just both because it's close by You gotta have someone who says okay? Yeah, well, we'll do it or at least the league has to go ahead and say Okay, we will grant the waiver here. It's not that damn easy. Peter is calling from San Diego Peter What North American city deserves our professional sports team. How's it going, Jr? Thanks for taking my call. Um so I obviously I don't have toe talk to you about San Diego. You and I agree on that one. But for me, I like the idea of some of the larger states that only have one team in a specific sport. Get another So what I was thinking as I think that the National Hockey League should put a team in San Antonio Houston. They don't like the idea of a state, his biggest Texas only having one hockey people. You're not happy with the stars. No, especially if the fans that could be following a different team aren't a fan of the teams from Dallas Fort Worth area. You know, it's not a Rangers fan. You're not a Uh, Stars fan. You're not a Mavs fan. Well, you know what? It's interesting that you say San Antonio. The proximity between Austin and San Antonio is is not that much. And Austin is just growing by leaps and bounds. It's keeping young people it's bringing in a growing tech industry. It's Austin is I love Austin, Texas, and I think the secret the cat is now out the bag about Austin, and I actually have concerns that Austin is just Gonna be over populated and the population density is going to go through the roof. Now, having said that? Is there going to be space and more development? Hell, yeah. So I'm gonna think about this. If I'd have to say there's gonna be a city in Texas that picks up a professional sports team if Austin can continue at the rate of which it's going Is it going to be 5 10 years? Probably not. But I'd say Austin was probably in a better position in San Antonio, unless someone just needs an immediate relocation. Hey, I agree with you there. Um, I I mostly said San Antonio because I think they have the infrastructure with already having the Spurs, but yeah, right. No, Absolutely. But you think about Austin? They got college football right now. They got college athletics. That's what they're known for. But that city that area Austin is growing big time. Marlon is here from ST Louis. Go ahead, Marlin. Yeah. How you doing? Great. Weap against a break. Go ahead. No, This is great tonight, man. You know I was I was going and what you're gonna have. Some glue is on that list. And you did. You know we've been crying for football every since around. Well, you know, and it's just something. It's just something about you. You know your port man, you know about the football team. You know about the basketball team, you know, And then you know down to the rest of us is Kansas City. You also know about that basketball team. And you good man, and I just want you to know we're cramping football. And the other thing, Louis we definitely another football team back here. But they did. Jerry Jones don't have one. Yeah, I hear you and cranky. You can go ahead and put standing in there, too. He's uh, you know, money, money grubbing, and that's what it boils down to Ann. Thank you. Marlon for calling from ST Louis. Everybody a lot of times. People won't complain about the athletes all the time because they're in front of us. This guy does this You really hear about the owners? Unless this the team leaves the city These guys are always looking for money. I'm taking more of your calls on cities that deserve teams when we come back right here.

"Said wizards owner, Ted Leonsis in a statement to the Washington Post, so both to you five this, I mean, they need to hope that I don't buy this because if I buy it, it implies that they weren't interested in quite positive the best executive in the leave. Why would you not be interested in quite possibly the best executive in the league, I buy that they tried to see if they can make this happen, and then they could not because otherwise it makes no sense that the draft to row? And you don't have a general manager. It only makes sense if you will waiting for somebody sees into in, and then go higher there and got they now got a interim general manager, who worked for Sewri Grenville for all those years who's going to run their draft. He might still be in charge and free agency. And then you go and try to hire somebody to be the general manager with somebody else free agent somebody else's picks a and they say they want a stand. Brad Beal before the what this is either objectively incompetent will actually, I think that's all it is, it's objectively incompetent. Because this is like hiring a chef at a fancy restaurant and then having him serve someone else's food. Not only is it a way. East of whoever it is that you bring in hopefully is good and worthy of the job. But also creates this weird conflict of interest, a conflict of incentives. Right. Why does this new chef really feel like these are the players and pieces that he should be rooting for. It's not how this works in the NBA and we know by the way that they tried to go get Tim Connolly with the nuggets we met with him. They tried to go get Troy Weaver with Oklahoma City Danny ferry on down the list. They tried they just came up empty on every turn. What do think is everybody inherits somebody else's players? Right. Like I don't want to pretend as though this'll be the first job where you had to deal with his players. But nobody asks you to do that after the draft like ordinarily it's like okay I've taken this job, and this is what I'm going to start leaving. My imprint on the job, whoever the general manager as has gotta sit around like this four year. Looking at the team is somebody else put together. This is your friendly, reminder that I'm thirty eight years old. I'll be fed at nine and a couple of months. The Washington basketball team has not won fifty gains in my. My life. I have never seen it. No. And meanwhile, we have this gentleman named Tommy Sheppard, who is the interim guy. And yes, apparently it falls to that guy to do something that has been weird, but reported extend Bradley Beal why what is the plan? Get a list of names of team head they did not win fifty games. They couldn't win gays when Moses below and into mid eighties. Today is number thirty two million. That's how much cap space Lakers scrambling to create now for an age awards, anarchy and Bobby mart Pablo. How does this reflect rob Lincoln, it reflects comically, unraveling command, there is no excuse here? There is no excuse at they're even trying to make various Laker fans over the past week have shaken their fists at the negative, recruiting from NBA media claiming that you guys are just bullying and piling on the Lakers. But no, the Lakers just messed up. And when they go and try and get all of the second rounders that they're trying to get now that tells you everything you need to know about how badly they messed. I can't figure out how it is a month ago, we all acknowledge they didn't know what the hell they were doing. And now we've got another data point to indicate that they don't know what the hell they're doing it. You got people saying that we all say saying that they don't know what the hell it is that they were doing now, if they really really, really thought this, all the way out, why would they go about it in this order, you get the cap space that you need, then you make the trade for Anthony Davis? They are doing this in reverse. They absolutely seem to be scrambling to figure this out of Ramaz me ice tea tells a story about how when for you got a record deal..

"The poll question is was put it up do you want to see legalized in game gambling in sports why do i bring this up well because one of the local owners where i live theodore leonsis who owns the wizards the mystics in the capital's and the valor shelves to arena league football he is on basically his bit for the past couple of years has been his attempt to try to legalise gambling for sports now there's a whole case you know the supreme court case yet he added but i'm bringing this up in a general term because he also said that legalized gambling is the only thing that's gonna save the nfl but i want to talk about the concept of legalizing gambling away some people want to do it and why i think it is a defacto horrible idea in the united states the goal here is that if you go to a game you'll be able to sit in the crowd and with your phone or other device gamble on what you see in front of you or even gamble on a game you are not attending okay sounds sort of coal in the context of yeah that would be fun if you really into it and i guess in many ways this is already sort of doable if you really want to operate in those circles were happy but the other thing about this that sort of bothers me is that there's a big time recognition this is a become lack of recognition of what possible problems this could create like.

"In two video game which is uh east sports um the yankees are following a number of other people who um whether it's the nba owners um whether it's ted leonsis with monumental sports um in the washington wizards i i think there's a recognition that if you're gonna wanna be in sports your warning wanna have a real any sports and um and i think also we have yet to see e sports evolve into any sort of organiz format and into real leagues um real star players so there's there's no it's likely that the yankees and other sports teams that are investing any sports are likely to be to create their own avatars from there from their own players meet the people who are on the field um can also be on the computer screen so i'm i'm of course if you're a yankee fan which i am happy to say that i am iq so as an avatar arun judge can somehow have a role as the yankees move into eu sports is that what i'm understanding well i mean i think that if you look at what the nba is doing with um we take two which is one of the largest video game companies is there they're trying to allow you to do through east sports to create foot but might be the the your own version of of a fantasy a combination between basketball fantasy basketball and fantasy east ports be able to use their your favorite players your favorite team.
