Report: J.J. Watt ‘seriously considering’ signing with the Browns
"The browns on the first teams to show interest in signing defensive end. Jj watt after. He was released by the texans on friday and it appears that the interest is mutual. Cleveland dot com reports that. What is seriously considering making his way to cleveland. To play for the browns due to the cap space they have available and a roster he thinks can potentially compete for the super bowl. Now we all know it's been a while since any big name free agent shows to sign with the browns. Do you think that. Jj watt is actually a realistic option for them. So i've left or swipe right. I think it's very realis- either. You put them next two miles. Gary that i mean yeah. That's really smart right here. Yeah that'd be a great acquisition. I immediately went to the rams as a possibility the idea of teaming two guys who are three time defensive players of the year would be an unbelievable option. Here's the issue. They probably do have room to work it out but it might be a question of. Jj watt or john johnson and leonard floyd in that scenario and that world do you go. Jj watt or do you go the other guys. I would go the other two guys but it's close really close. So does cleveland one. Sign what i said. Who don't want to sign what they're what i

"So, Robert, you have no idea what you're talking about, and to devalue sacks. You know, this is not winds and baseball where you can make that argument. It's about being able. Get to the quarterback. That's where you make your money. So the idea that you look at and let's learn Florida's something less than you know what I'd like to have that production on the Bears now without having 70 million tied up, and Robert Quinn, you didn't have that with Quinn and Max. So I'd rather have that type of again. Keep in mind. I'm the guy that saw every snap of living in Florida with Georgia and I told you that I didn't think he was very good. And he comes is very system. It didn't work. This is what we talk about. Sometimes a new area code is good for players I got. You know, I'm a new system. This won't be my last chance. I'm going to make sure I lock in and focus. I mean, you do that, Jeff sometime the time sometimes you're sometimes the new address is good. And it's undeniable. Sometimes a player, you know, being released by the team that drafted you who put a lot of credence in your ability. Sometimes that motivates the player more when they do move to that new Zip code. You're right, honey. But I don't know. How do you guys view that Because that's the one thing I've looked at all season long, especially because we we talked to John Fox. You know, at the end a draft a few years ago, and he raved about Leonard Floyd in his ability. And when he was here, we saw firsthand he would go missing for entire. Not just, you know, not what? Not haves. He'd be gone for games were or where you'd be like what happened. A letter Floyd this year. He lands in Los Angeles and what I don't know if it's the actual motivation. If it's the fact that he's reunited with Brandon Staley, he's on the You know, Erin Donald commands a lot of attention. I understand all that. I don't know what to think about this because, like you guys just said you had Leonard Floyd in the building. You couldn't get the best out of them. You for went his. What was it? 13 $14 Million option because you don't want to pay that You didn't think he had earned it. So I understand that, And then immediately he goes, and he's more productive than the guy that you you know that Robert Quinn, who you spent a bunch of money on Yeah. That's a bad look, even though Ryan Pace was able to identify his talent. It's a bad look for the franchise, right? No Della, and then sometimes for some players, the light comes on late. To say like I know that's not you can't look at the intangibles. I don't have any stats on that. But for sometimes some players air just like you know what? I understand the game a lot better now. I was in Chicago and I was not effective. I'm with this system. This coach speaks to me where I can understand exactly I need to do. It Could be that too. No question. I mean, there's no tangible proof of that. But I'm just saying that if there ever was proof learn Florida's that proof we've all had jobs where you go, e don't know about the culture and who I work with. Work with for right. "Wilson rendered Boy Chase. Is down Russell Wilson and ran about 20 yards to get their loss of three and for ploy. That's the sixth sack of the year against Seattle. Looks like they're trying to take a shot. Freddie swaying down there and the Ramses played really well. You got let employ them coming off the edge, and what a year he has had. He has been outstanding. I thought it was really interested in talking with defensive coordinator Brandon's Daily, he said. Let employees is Is as good an edge rusher as there is in all of football, whether that's rushing the passer playing the run, dropping into coverage, and he's proven that a guy with a lot of ability He's had a great year for these random Floyd was right there in his face. If you don't have to deal with their and Donald, you better remember about 54. Yeah, he plays a great He's right there. In his face. Wilson's trying to get the ball out quick. The locket in the flat in later, Floyd just plays it beautifully on first down Wilson meeting big chunks of yardage is going to suffer another sack. That's 1/4 of the game for this Rams defense in the second for Floyd Leonard Floyd with two Aaron Donald with two sacks in the ballgame, letter, Floyd. He's just had his way with Russell Wilson all season long given to him and just the four man rush again. That's pretty much all they've done throughout this game. They haven't had to do anything more than that, and they've gotten home and had a lot of hits on Russell Wilson a number of sacks. Four sacks, two takeaways. The interception returned for the touchdown and Floyd now a sack Wilson seven times this year. Fucking Aikman Saturday afternoon on Fox is l A pulls the upset Now we'll go to Green Bay. They might do it without Aaron. Donald. Oh, Leonard Floyd, You just heard the statute book at its seven sacks, seven. In three games,.

"Hear from our tourist kind of show this. He joins the show at nine o'clock. So we've had we had Theo today. Kind of the team president. Although he stepped down we have our tourist tomorrow. He's the head guy who you got on Friday. You got paste coming on. Is he ducking us? Paste does not want to talk to us. No cap, he said. Since you didn't buy many margaritas this year and the nachos he's he's a little salty at you, Okay? Analysis. Traffic I roasted players. Wow, Anyway, has a turn. Name this man. He's a nice brother. Spat. What's going on? Very nice man. He is. He's a really good dude draft some decent players when I walk in here, and John York of it says the day of the draft. Don't you dare take Leonard Floyd. Then that's the pick and you trade up to get him. Not gonna usually end well. Gonna end what he's doing. He's doing all right now. Wait right now. Yeah, Whatever. NFC defensive player of the week, Never as the main piece guys know was the main piece. I'm just saying, man to compliment everybody, You know, nobody remembers. The third guy are the fourth guy the fearsome foursome do that? No, that's the Purple People Eater Chews the fourth guy. He was probably Alan Alan paid Garry Marshall. No Jim Marshall Margaery something. It was Gary Marshall from Laverne and Shirley Shit. Watch Jim Marshall Allen Page, Carl Eller. And who was the fourth Gary Simpson? That's it. There's only remembers. You know, Crystal men get Steel curtain. Give me the four guys in the steel turns white. Uh, show Green Ernie Homes and Kevin Greene. No. Having agree. Wasn't there find wrestler Kevin Green, but it's English isn't good for Leonard Floyd. But it went well. You're right. I mean, we all saw the same stuff from Georgia. He was always around the pile. Not the reason for it. It was an inside backer, guys. He was an inside backer down there. He didn't play. You know, on the outside. They didn't rush him from the end. Nobody could look at his film and say, Boy, this guy is a pass rusher coming off the corner. Not if you had announced of intelligence. You didn't do that. Then you draft up. You take him at nine. Because you're afraid the New York Giants might take him. They would have been a blessing in disguise of the New York Giants would have taken him but that's all right. Life goes on Kevin White. See you later. You know, I don't know if he's being productive or not. Horrendous Grasu. Yeah, You made some mistakes. I think he's hit on a couple of, you know, picks. There's some quality players. Any Jackson in the fourth is quality player to Rico and wherever you got him, I forget what round they drafted it when he touches the ball going vertical north south. He's a pretty productive players that you know after that time, but he's a limited player. He's never going to be a superstar ever. But he could be a productive player for you, you know, and okay, if that's what you're looking for productive players, then boom. You had Eddie Jackson at things a little bit better than to Rico in his, you know, white hair is still kind of, you know, he's had good times He's had bad times. We don't know what the hell James James Daniels is gonna be. But you know the road, Kwan Smith's one hell of a player, So you know he's had some hits, and he's had a lot of Mrs By the way was Gary Larson was the fourth Purple People Eater and Elsie Greenwood was the other member of this feeling. Kurt. What about Steve? Furnace seemed like nothing was said. It's always hard to remember the third for It's like the third tenor. Nobody remembers that tenner. Exactly I'm gonna have, but Shelly and Pavarotti right? It's not. But Shelly who's the other guy? Go It's Pavarotti, Domingo and then like Placido. Seinfeld. Palak. Oh, yeah. No, no, no, no, no. That Placido Paul. I know. You know, Domingo. It's the Mingo. It's Pavarotti. And then who the hell knows you the third one Daddy saying Base, Mama Santana. Cross talk is brought to you by already read it brought. Thanks for listening. No, I've turned out that Jose careers. Hey, Jose Careers you brought you by titlist golf balls. 394 dimples. Just not enough. Um, and your co bob, Bob, Bob, Bob. Guys. Whatever. Horrible anyway fun to talk to Theo today. Yeah. So it's hard to believe that the nine year run is over. Went by fast, huh? Flu. Got your championship, though. You know what? You want it You got what, you we got our title and your sustained success. Five years out of six in the playoffs and got a ring. Why didn't but we got a title. But the question is, though, is that what happens? Moving forward like Theo's leaving? But now what is the Cubs look like for the future like is you still have some assets? Do you get rid of all those assets you built around a couple of guys because The winning in the getting into the playoffs. I don't see that happening in the next couple of years. I don't either. I think there's a lot of change coming this time. I think they're preparing people. Hey, man, we are, as Jesse put it eloquently this morning. You don't furlough, downsize fire 100 employees and then increase your player payroll. You just don't So they're burning the house down that? Well, they did increase their payroll last year. What makes you think after what just happened in 2020 there? I think you're right, Cap. They're not gonna increase. No. You told us yesterday that they couple of big time names could be non tender candidates. I mean, who would have thought that? Even two seasons ago. Yeah, that cow Schwarber would be nontendered or that Kris Bryant should have trained him. I don't know why you would not, I still feel like even off of horrific year. I feel like you kind of be crazy to non tender Kris Bryant that you could still trade him. With a year left on the deal. Don't you think who's taken 20 Million in a pandemic is the question. It seems to me like the Dodgers. Don't care about anything. The anima Anaheim Angels don't care about money. A some plant the Red Sox does. They don't care about money. The New York Yankees definitely don't care about money You gotta find it seems. I mean, I mean, Justin Turner is out of contract in L A right that they would they bring in with Ace Would they take Brian for a year and play third? Maybe. Where is their plan To move Seeger over and let Lux place short? I don't know. I mean, they have. Ah, I don't know. How would the Dodgers have sexual ridiculous wealth of talent in their minor league system? Is they doing great job in international signings and in drafting it's unreal cat like breathing, throw money. Everybody just thinks while they throw money into everything, and they do spend a lot of money, there's no doubt that they do, but They're still mostly a homegrown team, and they've got all this young talent still coming. It's crazy. That's how you want to do it, though, Right, Carm? I mean, the cubs are bereft of quality in the minor league system outside of a guy or two. You would love to be able to say, OK, we're going to get rid of Contreras and former and Bryant and Rizzo and will be OK, because we got the next level, guys now we're gonna win. But our next level guys will get us where we need to be in three years or less. That's where you wanna be. Yeah, absolutely. The Dodgers have done right and well, and Friedman's really good, but I don't know. Does it seem like l A look at Kris Bryant for your 20 million really matter to them if They think Brian can help them win another title in 2021. I'm just spit balling. I'm just I don't It's It's just It's kind of crazy to think that a year Two years ago, or even a year ago that you'd be we'd be talking about Kris Bryant potentially being nontendered. Hard to believe. Yeah, I mean, but you look how good they are in the draft. The White Sox picked Carson Fulmer in the draft. The Cubs, then take Ian Happ. And the next I don't was the next pick. But shortly thereafter, the Dodgers take Carson formers. Pitching teammate Walker BUE locker view. She remind me Stop. You think both Chicago teams like a do over there? Worry about your team having a nap after ballplayer..

"I think Waddell and me have the bears one for two and free agency we're waiting to see what they do at quarterback but we like the queen signing on the cowboys pass rusher more professional like I do want to say the best is a professional pass rushers he is put on some tape of him and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you see Leonard Floyd was not you could not count on him to get to the pastor never quoted me at two in the opener last year against the Packers and then he disappeared the rest of the year I don't coverage should we should we I mean listen it Ryan pace swift on the pic but at the very least I'll give him a mild amount of credit for deciding not to continue to be stubborn with him and stick with him and cuts date and move so yes very least I give him a major mistake yes and that's what we wanted but he's doing the wrong position well we'll see I mean there's still time you think they're gonna do something don't you I don't like Clinton is still available in in Las Vegas if you want to fire him back let's talk to Jason will be who does great work for ESPN Milwaukee covers the Green Bay Packers and has done so for years and years and years in J. St the the one that we don't like is the Jimmy Graham signing up for me as a bears fan J. so when I pulled up in my drive when I got the text from Waddell that Jimmy Graham was now a bear I I threw up in my mouth literally well that's been six well I mean everyone in Chicago had the same the same reaction go everywhere was just wild again okay well all right thanks for thoughts thank you second of all I'm a little confused because Russell Ryan pace was not convinced by what Leonard Floyd in the opener when I got to visit your fair city for the Packers are enormous and the three victory on opening night even though Floyd had two sacks they still moved down from a from that game meanwhile it would appear that perhaps the only games that the bears watched of Jimmy Graham were the bears opener where he had the touchdown the only touchdown of the game he had a big catch where he hurdled Eddie Jackson area to play where he drew like a twenty nine yard pass interference penalty you guys signing thank you I couldn't believe it either now I wouldn't go so far as to say that there are any bodily functions that occurred in my driveway like they'll be bought nine million guaranteed I was blown away by that now maybe I'm writing Jimmy Graham often but surely but I watched him for two seasons and all we got were glimpses of the old Jimmy Graham not the Jimmy Graham that when you think of his name you think of the player that he was in New Orleans and even in Seattle I mean when the Packers signed them the three year thirty million dollar deal in March of two thousand eighteen hello Graham was a leak coming off hand read long cut right down to the previous year with what the Seahawks fan and they cut Jordy Nelson the same day that they signed Graham so he was he was definitely a disappointment here as you said to us that the end of the two thousand eighteen season my number's soccer and then he proceeded in two thousand nineteen they have even worse numbers so you know I would just say that I don't think the Packers won the opener which I think was a crucial crucial win for a team under their first year head coach in his first game and I don't think they want to Seattle playoff game without Jimmy Graham now is that worth ten million a year to win those two games probably not but he did have some classes where you were happy he was on your team there just weren't enough yeah and and listen I value your your opinion more than most okay so let me just get that out there but I don't know I I would be interested to know if you ask the question to Erin Rogers what would he tell you I thank you all right I think not that I how do I answer this without lying to you I have not lied to me I have not I have not answered that question on the record know what I'm saying okay yeah but if you had what would you project is the answer to be suspect I I'm I'm I'm trying to dance around the fact that I have them off the record but I I think he was disappointed last year in what he got out of I mean Graham had some pretty crucial drops the drop the touch down in the Philadelphia game which was one of only three games they lost he just he just doesn't have that he just doesn't have that year that made him special any more and you know you can reinvent yourself in the NFL right I mean I the practice had another tight end on the roster was a great example of that you know Mercedes Lewis used to be a big athletic tight end who would make plays for the Jaguars well now he's about thirty six years old is that that guy anymore Mike McCarthy Houston offense with the third apple in two thousand eighteen and then now the floor came in and and it was almost like a light bulb went on saying Hey why don't we best use this guy last year before I got here and you know there were some significant contributions that they got from as they like to call a big dog Mercedes Lewis the problem is that our state is Louis would do it all right he was a very good blocker he was a very consistent albeit infrequent half catcher and even great locked away in Jimmy Graham okay he was really well liked them a lot like everyone I talk to you even though you don't like talking to us in the media felt like he was a really good locker room guy Rogers really like them on a personal level like they have become very good friends but that's what I was a little being a little cautious about like I'm sure he wanted far more from Jimmy Graham this season especially when you look at what the Packers had at hi Dan and the fact that by the end of the year they were counting on a third round rookie who had played basically one year of real college football had missed most of training camp and the season and caught zero passes in the regular season thanks that's why they were a tight end they needed Jimmy Graham to be more than he was then and we'll see maybe they don't this this looks to me like a one year nine million dollars deal to me and then that'll be the end of Jimmy but again I I am reluctant to write him off because we did see flashes but gave that that seems like a lot of money to pay or just some flashes it's basically one year one million a year less than what the Packers paid and the Packers were not thrilled with the production right right I mean so we're talking to Jason well the ESPN Milwaukee and that's the thing is they're paying nine million for this year than they're paying they also sign Trey Burton two years ago that they're still on the hook for I mean they're putting like fifteen sixteen million into the tight end position and they're not getting premiere production out of the next premier price over premier price for like one of the top tight ends right now Jason and the thing that a lot of people in Chicago are saying is Aaron Rodgers is good as he is and what he needed for not only that position but from receiver standpoint you got to find a Adams then you were looking you were looking all year and you needed production and as good as they are Rogers said you had the run game Dante Adams when he was healthy and you were trying to get a bunch of guys in Jimmy Graham still with Aaron Rodgers could only get two thirty eight AM catches yeah and one of the great things about talking to you guys in addition to just you know I love you guys is you too that there's an appreciation down there for Rogers that I do not get well in my opinion another problem here like the frustration that Packers fans exhibited about their hall of fame quarterback at times last year you would have thought that they had and I don't mean to be mean but you would have thought that Mitchell Trubisky hole in his final words you want to trade I know I know that right tell them nobody wants to make Hey you wanna make a threat you know what Jason with that with with that salvo tossed our direction I'm gonna send one back at you and I'm gonna suggest to you that we're we're pulling our money and we're going to send in bulk quantity some greening goal depends for Aaron Rodgers as much as we expect we get respect him and love him as a player because this front seven with the addition of Robert Quinn is going to make him P. himself twice next year two thousand twenty season yeah can take and take that to you that's fine and I've got you know I've got Packers fans making all kinds of jokes about that Jimmy Graham and the commitment to Mitch Trubisky and whatever else I here's a look here's the reality with actors bell is D. M. the fans you talked you had it right on the head they spent the entire season searching for another pass catching alternative should divide the Adams who was great again but they they have completely mismanaged their wide receiver spot had constant people **** about him all the time appear trapped in developing ever signed anyone in free agency well I'll tell you what he did do he grafted Greg Jennings in the second round he drafted Jordy Nelson in the second round he drafted James Jones in the third round he drafted Randall Cobb in the second round he drafted devised a Adams in the second round he learned from his mentor Ron wolf who always regretted not investing enough at receiver for his hall of fame quarterback Brett farb and he said look we're not gonna screw this up I put my draft pick in the Rogers in two thousand five I'm gonna invest in receivers for him and he did and those guys all panned out with the help of obviously playing with Aaron Rodgers duty comes then added two thousand eighteen users fourth fifth and sixth round pick on wide receivers and what you don't have to be a POP three around fifty basic stuff for wide receiver in the NFL red water pipes here's the thing the fourth round pick washed out with terrible got cut in training camp the fifth round pick started the season as their number two receiver and ended up playing one snap in the NFC championship game caught two passes in the last nine games combined and then the fifth round pick that the entire year with injury so they didn't do anything to help Rogers at that position they needed Jimmy Graham to be better that's what I get enough production from yeah that and that's what I'm saying I know I assume that there's gymnastics galore at the will of the house are all the best to you and your family all right Jason thanks Jason yeah all of work out the base but I'm like mark Loretta bit down grades all the best some of these a great teammate he's a D. S. P. in Milwaukee and that's my fear is they needed so much from Jimmy Graham and they got thirty eight characters and that's with Rogers as their quarterback it's it's again a whole lot of head scratching on the side all right so why does world is that true there's a lot of news that water is gonna have to get out both the and the sports world and in the real world and it's all next yes.

"The NFL has implemented a system for steroids and performance enhancing drugs. The NFL was out in front of it. Well, they weren't out in front of it for those guys to that. But the Di no, no. But I mean what they did get out in front of it. And they implemented a testing program for then for street drugs in the street, drug one is a little bit more stringent now than it used to be. And so they said, yes, we have an issue here. It is. And here's what's happens. If you test here, there's a program here. And if you're taking PD's, then you get suspended, then you get suspended morning get suspended for a year. So it's out there. Everybody knows what it is. And if you go afoul of it. You could spend the next what happened? That's why nobody's upset in the NFL. They've got a program already. It's been there in baseball. They had nothing and then they finally implemented something. What else? Also. Yes, there's a witch hunt. I'm telling you guys that did the PD's in the past. Shame on all that. And there's a postseason of banishment. Also if you test positive for PD's and major league baseball, right? There is no postseason banishment in the NFL just the four-game suspension if they catch him before the play offs. The those four games are in the playoffs. Yeah. You're right. What else standing last one gentleman? Jared Goff ram starting quarterback becomes an unrestricted. Free agent in twenty twenty one shot or no shot the Rams and the wizard Sean McVeigh traff. Their next starting quarterback in the next two drafts. Shot wide say the next traffic you'd want your quarterback now going into year four. You know, there's maybe see if you don't have to give him that fifth year ago. They gotta make that this off season this decision to your extension. Yes. Because this he's going into your four. Boy, right. Yeah. So they'll have to pick it up. It's like samba Leonard Floyd. I'd guess you'd want to have them in your program for one year. And then you could always trade 'em. Even if you do give them the fifth year extension, right? I don't see. Why not? Yeah. So. Off away. If you don't like them. At that point. Yeah. All those guys that are from that class. You have to decide the goff's the Wednesdays's Bosa Zell Ezekiel Elliott, and some of these guys have signed extensions already to Jalen Ramsey. Leonard Floyd bears. They've already said it bears are going to pick up your options on Leonard Floyd everybody from that draft class. But I'd say shot on that is that it. Yup. You guys did. Well, that's how we do it. That's how you roll shot. No shot..

"Or we don't learn from our mistakes and we stay mired in mediocrity. Correct. Tommy's in here. So Vic Fangio is out. Nick has been a fantastic coach in this league for a long time. And he's finally getting an opportunity to run his own program. I couldn't be happier for him. I think he's deserving of this opportunity and he finds himself in a good spot. You go to to Denver and you get an opportunity to coordinate a defense. It's got you know, von Miller, Shane Ray, kid, Bradley Chubb, who's a rookie this year out of NC state. You've got an all pro cornerback and Chris. Yeah. But I mean you, but you also have Gary kubiak who is a former Super Bowl winning head coach. Who's now I guess going to take over their offense. I think it's a good setup in Denver. But there's no question they have to figure out their quarterback situation. It is something that John Elway has failed to do. But look I thought that Vick could find himself in a very good situation. Much in the way that men Nagy found himself in a good situation where MAC could take care of the offense. Basically look look at Vic Fangio and say, here's the keys to the west wing in this building. I win come over there until you ask me, or if you need me to come over there, and do whatever it is. But you're almost an assistant head coach in charge of the defense. I'll let you do your thing. Well in Denver now, I think you've got the similar thing. I think he got Vick. Who's completely in charge of that defense? It's got a lot of potential who's going to hire. No, see or Gary nosy that he can look to and say, Gary you've seen this you've done this all you can call you. I think it's a great. Setup for victim in Denver. I think it sets up for him. Lot of coaches walk into situations where the deck is stacked against them. Because of I mean, you're looking for new coach and of instances because you've had a run of bad luck. Or you haven't been very good. I think he finds himself in a situation in Denver where he could succeed. So I'm happy for. Yeah. I was reading about some of the candidates that I saw that when Greg Williams went to Washington he was in demand. And the Washington people said we will not have anything to do with the defense. It's all you, you do it ever it is you want you autonomy. So who to the bears higher? I don't know Donna tells in their building I think ED's contract is up. I think it would be a nice segue to go from Vic Fangio's before he has. And he's been in the league forever. And but but maybe Vic decides he wants to take with him. I think you're gonna have you're gonna have your pick of the litter. You tell me if you're a defensive coordinator. Okay. And you're in search of new work a new job. I mean what open defensive coordinator position. Are you going to sign up for I oh, by the way, Khalil Mack Akeem Hex Leonard Floyd, Eddie Goldman, Danny trevathan roquan Smith. Kyle fuller prince amukamara any Jackson they're all under contract. You wanna come and be RDC? I probably walk from wherever you are. Right now. It's take that interview if you're asked so I think they're going to have I don't know who it will be. But I think they're going to have their pick of the litter. Yeah. I would think name who you want and those guys are going to be I mean be fit with Matt too. I mean, there was a natural. I think Vic Fangio probably wasn't. I don't know Vick. I've never met Vic. But I think there was a natural comfort with Vic Pena's -ccomplish this. He was with no feeling of having to usurp in any way, the power of the head coach Matt Nagy who's a young first time head coach you got to find someone who can come in and segue into that situation with a similar approach. Like he's Rex Ryan that guy can Rex come here. Rex had a good run as a defense corner is Rex and would come here, and and suck the oxygen out of the room. Correct. So I think it's good. I I think they're in good good shape. I we've talked about this last few days on our show. They're better off losing Vic with the personnel. They have on defense, and they are losing matters the offensive minded this coach, and what he means to that young quarterbacks of whatever reason you lost Matt Nagy? It would be a bigger shot to this team again because of the importance of the quarterback head coach slash offensive coordinator relationship. Right. You've got so much talent on the defensive side of the ball on a minimize what Vic men to that team. I've got a pretty strong feeling. This is going to be a good defense for years to come. Now. I say that. And look Buddy Ryan had the horses to run with. But when buddy left, I don't I mean, and there was probably some things you lost Wilbur Marshall to free agency. Right. Some other issues guys got a little bit older. But that defense probably fewer points the next year under Vince Tobin than they did under buddy. Okay. So there you go. But over the long run you still probably with no disrespect meant to vent events. You probably missed him out. So I I think that this is at the professional level. What's most important is? It's you have quality players coaching ultimate and see the jockey carry the horse across the finish. Exactly. It's well said show me a great coach. I'll show you coach we great players or good players Guido. And we'll Matt as a question for us. Hey, Guido, what's up sparky guys? How are you? Good. What's up? Good. Good. So I was wondering and this just makes that bears laws hurt just a little bit more. You know, how impatient. These NFL guys are and they want to get a coach on their books. Real quick. You think if that the bears would have won the game and knowing everything baby Vic Fangio probably wouldn't have got the job because he's still be coaching. What do you think about that? I don't necessarily can't connect those dots directly. Great. Oh because they could've still hired. Vic couldn't they have. I don't know. Exactly the rules. You can't hire him. But they could have had a handshake. You could have come to an agreement that when you announced I guess you do announced the hiring when you ultimately exit the postseason. Yes. I mean, if you're the guy I don't think that thanks listen. It's a good point. But I don't think ultimately, I think we try to blame Cody parkey for Vic Fangio go there. I don't think that's the case. Do you believe Cody parkey speaking of that now? It's gonna take. I don't know. How you do it? I don't know how they coexist. I don't know how he handles the situation. I don't know how I don't know. I don't know how the team kind of. I think all the guys in that locker room handled it as well as they could that they were great. And they were gracious in Bobby Massie, and everyone who spoke on his behalf. I thought that was very classy. But I heard you guys talking about it. You saw the situation how it all happened with with Blair Walsh. Right. I mean, the try to bring him back and rehab that. So. Look, here's the deal. You made the mistake given him a a cap restrictive contract with no pun intended. You made getting rid of him painful fiscally. But you can't you can't turn one mistake into two by not getting rid of the right thing to do is to move on. And find somebody for a very inexpensive price and go forward. You don't wanna make a second mistake keeping him because you don't want to get nothing for him at three and a half million. I think you have to move on. I just do. I don't think he can be your kicker throw you another name Jack del Rio. Yeah. I like Jack Jack did a nice job on Twitter. Yeah. Jack Jack did a defensive coordinator. Sure. Marvin lewis. He's a good defensive coordinator as well. That's sure he wants to go back to do that. Jack may be more willing to do that the Marvin Marvin was head coach for fifteen or sixteen years Wilkes. Yes. Steve Wilks probably wants to get right back on the horse. So to speak get that bad taste out of his mouth. He had success in Carolina. A lot of people thought the world of him. Again, I think you're going to have your choice of guys. Are you unhappy about Vic leaving in some respects? Yeah. Because you don't want to lose him. But you happy for Vic because Vikas toiled as I said in this industry for a long Vick was coaching linebackers in New Orleans during that stretch, people don't don't remember this. But he was the linebackers coach New Orleans when they had Rickey Jackson von Johnson, Pat swilling and Sam mills that group that that was one of the best four sums of linebackers in the history of the game released modern history of the game. So when he was in San Francisco, he didn't San Francisco a lot of the same things as he did here. I mean, he's he deserves a chance go out there and run his own program. He's paid his dues any chance foxy would wanna come back is the DC. I don't think he comes here. I think John would be open to I think he's enjoying what he's doing. I think he was an opportunity for him to catch his breath as well. He's been a head coach for what sixteen years or something. Like that prior to being let go this off season. I don't know he meets coaches, are you know, you were a coach it's tough to get it out of your blood is you know, I wouldn't rule it out that John will go back to be a DC somewhere. I don't think he's panicking. I mean, he was still still getting paid this year. Yes. So we call those golden parachutes. But now, we don't. But I think I think there's a chance he may want to get back in the game. Darnold, last one. Do you think Jordan Howard is wearing a bears uniform twenty nineteenth kicks off? I think they're going to try to move him. I don't know what they'll get for him. And I say that with all respect to what he's provided his first year in this league here in Chicago. He was thirteen hundred yard rusher is second-leg us an eleven hundred yard rusher. And last year this past nine hundred yards. He didn't get the touches. And they really weren't as efficient running the football as they have in the past said, a nice run here in Chicago. Yeah, he just doesn't. And I didn't think when when they came in. I I never thought he was the right fit with what to do doesn't mean. You don't think he's a good player? You just he is he doesn't fit totally into the system that you're trying to run it doesn't maximizes system or the efficiency that can come from the system. So look, I don't know. I don't know that you cutting because he's not making a ton of money. He's on his first contract. He was a fifth round picks. You try to trailing. What are you gonna get for? And he was a fifth round pick overall might get a fifth. You may. I mean, I think they'll try to dealing or conditional pick. So if I had to put my money down at my money would be on the fact that he wouldn't be with this team next year. But again, I don't say that with kind of like get the hell outta here in my heart. I appreciate what he provided for this team. He's just. You know, you run a vertical passing attack? You don't want me in your offense. Do you know what I'm saying you run more of a gimmicky side to side. I want Kareem hunt without the baggage that guy who doesn't or Alvin Kamara can find those guys they can find those guys in third round. I'm Phillip Lynes. Lease is going to the Pro Bowl this year. He was an undrafted free agent for Denver. So fine guys that can can be two dimensional instead of the one dimension, which is purely running the football. And look it's not as if they ever said, hey, we're gonna load you up and give it to you twenty plus times a game consistently. Just wasn't what are they did? So that's why you saw some of Tai Kwon, Mazalan and Benny Cunningham because as marginally better as they may be as receivers, and I thought Jordan improved himself as a receiver out of the backfield this year, but one of the things for you real fast. When the football is stripped out, Anthony Miller's hands officials calling it incomplete. Bill belichick. Brought. That showed that play the his team the other day. It's said that's why I tell you to pick up every loose ball. It'll be coaching point for every team in the league. But if you look at the film, the whistles blown in the official is emphatically sing signaling incomplete pass and he's five feet from the football. I understand. Why guys didn't do it going forward? Will they change your approach a little bit?.

"It's never been easier. To throw the ball. We have to star receivers. We have a quarterback that now makes thirty plus million dollars. We drafted a running back two years ago in the second round that could have been a first round pick the can really catch the football. And we don't have a good blocking offense of line. Throw the football yet. He was adamant we we've fire John D flip. Oh, we gotta run the ball. Run the ball run the ball. So he goes in the biggest game of the year. We tried to run the ball. Yanked gonna run it. On Khalil Mack on Keam Hicks on roquan Smith on Danny trevathan on Leonard Floyd. Those guys are going to kick your ass. And then they're going to kick your ass some more Mike Zimmer living like a Dan dinosaur thinking that it's still nineteen Ninety-six deserve to get his ass kicked. If you're listening to this on Tuesday two days ago, it was his own. Fault for the archaic thinking refuse to think outside the box refused to admit and embrace. What is working in today's environment at home to lose that game embarrassing? I think you could justify firing Mike Zimmer right now, you know, I got to give a little credit where credit is due. I did not like their draft pick. Anyone that listen to the show knows that I am not big on running backs really high in the draft. I'm definitely not big on guard really high, but I'll take my hat occurs valor. And Andrew luck. And the colts organization to me this year was a muscle flex for two people one. I would say, you know, typically GM's don't get crazy buzz like over a period of two or three years and become the next Kyle Shanahan. Kyle kind of became an Atlanta. Adam gays was actually that guy before Miami hired him. You know, Pat Shurmur had a lot of buzz a couple years ago or. Just last year. Now, the giants head coach it's harder for GM's because we don't quite feel if you're not the assistant GM or the player personnel guy, or the college director is hard tell what you're really doing. But everyone that falls the NFL at heard the name, Chris Bala. I personally have never met him. I'm friends in no people with the chiefs that swear by them. I know Matt Nagy loves them vs loves them. Coterie love them. They all spoke highly of. But until you really know what a guy is doing. It's hard to quite quantify with a quarterback. It's pretty it's pretty easy. Right. It's black and white. I I never understood the Andrew luck haters. And maybe it's just as simple as in life. People resent greatness. Like, the dude was great in college. He gets rafted number one Ryan Grigson who I've worked with which was laughable when he was hired as the GM arguably go down as the worst general manager in NFL history. Almost ruined this great player. He took that team. He took Ryan Grim into the playoffs. Three times. Chuck pagano. Who somehow getting interviews? I wouldn't hire. Chuck Pagano is my head coach with a ten foot pole. But you know, Chuck pagawa was head coach Andrew luck overcame at all then this year with the help of Chris Ballard because I tip my hat to Chris Ballard, and maybe I. Should've thought about like the way I looked at the way they're draft had kind of the way they approached it you had to protect Andhra. I kind of get it. Now, maybe I shouldn't have been so stubborn like you can have you know, kind of hard hard set and concrete rules in life. But sometimes you have to be flexible too. You know, I wouldn't take running backs in the first round but saquon Barkley Zeke Elliott's I do get it that when you look at what Andrew luck accomplish this year with the help of Ballard and even. Josh mcdaniels left. Chris Ballard at the alter it still to this day. And we may never see anything quite like it again is one of the craziest things we ever seen in sports the end up with Frank rich. They start one in five Andrew early on. You know, as it should of hadn't played in a year and a half. He was coming off multiple shoulder. Injuries looks rusty. But for them to finish. What are they ten and six the sixty they're playing the Texans which they're getting two and a half points..

"But they weren't in there every time and in the events that they weren't there Goff was pushing feats that what's the one guy in Chicago to Mr. tackle girly owned third. Yeah. Got hurt or something? Yeah. Not hicks. No wasn't Hicks Arnold dorm. One second. But what I was gonna say is that that cold weather right there. Leonard floyd. That's the cold weather. Yeah. That's cool weather when when Todd Gurley when you clearly are standing next to Gourley, and you wrap your arms around him. And he just goes get out of me. That's the cold weather. Here's that's what happened. Here's Todd Gurley. Talking after the game out whether or not that bears defense was as good as he expected. Oh, yeah. I mean you saying six points scored on the. Twenty eight twenty nine fever. So. Shout out, Saddam. We're quite a bit. Pick. You know, MAC with MAC. So like, I said, you know, you gotta get credited owes guys they came here. Played ass off got win turfing. We just didn't get the job done in the second half. You had six yards rushing usually get six yards and one play we use it were you stumped out there. I looked like a Scott. That's what I look like. It was one of them games. Man. You know? We always today. Just one of those games or a blueprint that everyone else in the NFC can follow comply time. We'll find out what key fakes about that. That is coming up next. They've got four and four Chicago can affectively win it here at the four and a half. Mark the final quarter Goff weans in from the shock. And he's got early on his left shoulder. Brandin cooks without left's trio bunch to his right? He's got the snap. Four man. Rush from the bears Goff in trouble going down sect at the twenty five. He has to eat it. Keen Hicks, brick up the middle ROY Robertson Harris there as well. And this game is all over. Kinda bumming me out. Up night for the Rams last night. They lose ready to six who is that Corrine McGovern morning after he has got to be a morning after l z. I mean think yes, I mean, there's always a morning after the Rams are dealing with their morning after right now you heard JB, right? They're making the call the Jared Goff get sacked right there. We saw him get sacked in the end zone for a safety. We saw he threw four interceptions. Those went the other way. He also fumbled. The Rams ended up recovering the fumble. But he got the ball knocked out again key. This is not just a reaction to them losing last night. And then only scoring six points in him throwing four picks. The number one criticism I've had of Jared Goff going back to last season all through this season up until the dude holds onto the ball too long. I mean, he's he's standing back there, and I never been a quarterback. But I've always assumed that once you get that snap in your head. You're thousand one thousand two it better come out about that point. Maybe get another half a second or so, but he's sitting there going thousand three one thousand four just not coming out feels like it needs to get fixed. He's doing what you deal with your kids when they were little. Thing the sleep. Yeah. That's what he's doing. He's he's patented to sleep. He's sitting there. He's he's doing one of these deals in whenever you do. Shut up. Chris whenever you do that. It's a situation that. Hold makes you hold on the ball too long. Because you're not seeing things clear you you're used to not being touched. And you don't realize how fast defense is going to get up on you. So he's just sit there don't, you know, Khalil Mack is out there. And he's coming for dead matter. It's already in in engrained in your head. It's embedded in there. You are. It's deep you. You're at practice in the first thing, you do is you draw back. You still look and scan in the guy past you in it. You still throw coach goals that a great job there Jarrett Nazi? And that's what we need out of you great situation. Then game time combs that clock. Doesn't speed up until you get hitting your head three or four times in it speeds up..

"So you look at his his often the coaching staff he has he has west coast guys yet has a guys that have spread background. He has guys at stuff with with the the. Earnhardt Perkins system. So he has guys that on his coaching staff that has a whole bunch of different ideas. And he brings them all together in any all the place. Interesting. So I have to ask you about a couple of guys on your roster guys who are of interest to giants fans. One is a guy that we know really. Well, you know, as a former giant guy that guy that we like guy that that played pretty well, you know, with the giants for awhile was never a superstar. What what is prince amukamara bringing to the bears these days in and what's the feeling about Princeton, Chicago, I a fan favorite. I mean, he's a guy that helps they allies the secondary. You know, he came in, you know, a year ago, and he played really good football. You know, he didn't have interceptions which some that you never really had had in his career. But he keeps his physical back. There is he plays. Good pressman. Coverage was what what he doesn't side of the field. So he gives the bears. You know, he's he's he's hitting Burnham every now and again just because he plays aggressively. But. It's just an attitude again, you know, this whole defense has that has attitude. Very aggressive. You know, that they're very physical and principal markets, the mold the other guy that I have to ask you about is a guy who couple of years ago. I think around these parts anyway, it seemed to be pretty common knowledge and apparently the bears new this to that. That the primary target for the giants in in the draft a couple of years ago was Leonard Floyd and the bears jumped up ahead of the giants to make a move. And then, and then I think it was Tennessee jumped up in front of the giants to make a move for the giants second target when you look back at you know, at that deal is what is Leonard Floyd bringing to the bears. These days was an was it really worth it for the bears to make the move that they made to go get him. You know, he's not a superstar. You know? He's he may never be a superstar bloody is a very good football player on the bears obviously got him to get to quarterback and this series only got one sack. I think is his his most think a seven he had some injuries the first couple of years, but he's been healthy all season long and the bears a lot of ways he drop back in coverage quite a bit. He does he does stuff man demanding against the slot. So he's a guy that the bears to play games with any kind of can do some some zone blitstein type stuff with them as well. 'cause he's on the line. He's not always coming. He's always dropping. He's always drop on occasion as well. But but this year while the numbers aren't there? He has been really good against a run. He's ready to set the ads. You know, he has has has the plays out us strung out on his side of the field. A lot of early in the year where where the sacra brea made by makan and came Hicks. You know, he was doing the contain on his side. So he was doing his job. Just not getting the big sack numbers. But the way this defense works. That's that's working for him and work for the bears. So let's turn to let's turn to something on the offense of side of the ball. And obviously the one thing we haven't talked about yet is the quarterback situation. Let's talk. So let's talk about Mitchell Trubisky so from year one to year two, I guess there's I guess there's there's two parts to the question. What do you see from Trubisky? Do you think he's really going to be you know, a ten or twelve year franchise guy for the bears and the second part of that question is do you expect him to play on Sunday against the giants? You know, I think he's a guy that the best from him is yet to come. I did not think he was going to be as as an athlete as his. I mean, he he was he was pretty good. Combine, you know..

"So that that's where feral is. And he's been able to definitely take advantage of the opportunities. He's gotten, but we can move on now to another guy in the ACC that is. Going to be a Brian. Burns of Florida state. Yeah, he's another long guy. Six five he isn't as thick as feral as though I've only seen him listed to thirty. We'll see what he act has come the combine you can't put a whole lot of weight and school measurements. They occasionally stretched the truth. I suppose we could say, but he does move like a guy who has that long lean built kinda Leonard Floyd or Lorenzo Carter. He's really fluid mover. And he already uses a variety moves to be blockers, which is good to see. But he also doesn't have the strength you'd expect from a bigger guy which could hurt him as an edge. Because those guys do have to be able to set Nej in the run game. The pass rush is definitely more important teams generally don't draft run defenders highly. But it's still something they need to be able to do. Yeah. Abso. -olutely? And if you have the pass rush end, you can be a plus run-defender that that is the case that I think that is right now for burns. He's for what he's done this season. He has nine sacks in fourteen and a half run stuff's. So he hasn't been able to play the run pretty well. And that's also with twelve and a half tackles for loss. So he has been able to make plays in the backfield. A which is something you definitely want to see production is definitely a key. And something that translates at edge possibly college production. They're about as much or more than I think, maybe any other position you wanna see that type of production in college off the edge. Yeah. And with burns, if maybe the kind of guy where if you can't if you can't just stack and shed the blocker just run pass and make the tackle in the backfield that probably easier anyway, you talked about how. How he has some moves and and can use his hands a little bit. And that's that's another thing. If you're watching these guys when you have any type of college player who has advanced hand movement. That's something you write down and check because a lot of these guys who are athletes and can potentially be good at the next level. Sometimes that hand placement. And hand us is the last thing that really develops. So if you have a guy in college who can do that that someone who already has a step on some of these other guys? Yeah. And for some of these guys who are they have always been just a freak athlete and the most athletic die in the field. They don't develop hands because they don't have to they can just run right past a block or whether you can their kick slide or just hit them and out athlete than like today. Cloudy used to do it, South Carolina. His hands weren't great coming out. But he was just a. Just such an explosive athlete. It didn't matter. Now, he's had to develop them not having handy's. It's not something that should disqualify anyone either. You'll get markets Davenport last year super athletic had crazy production Welby it in in a smaller school, not someone who was completely refined in pass rush. Moves a when he was on the field that before he got hurt. He was able to definitely make an impact uh. So that's something that doesn't disqualify people. But if they do have that hand usage that can put them I step above. So someone who I think maybe might need to work on that a little bit is a montage sweat of Mississippi State. Yeah, he's another one of those longer, leaner, guys. He's listed at six four to forty looking on. I suppose that's about right? Interestingly he's really explosive out of a three point stance eats covers a lot of. Ground off the snap with his hand in the dirt less so out of a two point stance. At least from what I've seen. I don't know if that's just a repetition. He hasn't done it enough or hasn't gotten great coaching on that. I don't know..

We have a different terrible quarterback starting. There's no chemistry. No flow with anyone in that attack in games started by quarterbacks other than other than Josh Allen. The bill. Have one touchdown on offense and their offense is allowed for touchdown historic bad. And we know that they're negative. They should just punt on first down. They would be doing better the they clearly the bears listened to this podcast because they sat Khalil Mack again. And they forced four takeaways that. Absolutely. What happened because they almost played them last week like, whoa, you'll Souza's making sense over here. Four takeaways two hundred sixty four yards on offense. That's all these teams gotta do rest. Anybody? You're worried about because the bills just do not have the ability to score points. And I cannot believe they have two wins. I gotta say it is crazy because you look at the I was thinking, well if nothing else is going to be a good test for Mitchell Trubisky on the road against tough defense. Let see some progress from the offense, and yeah, I don't I don't think you can really bang them for only getting eleven first downs in one hundred ninety years when you win forty one to nine it's like what's the difference? But it's still. It jumps off the page that the offense didn't move didn't need to move the ball. And all this is a good defense though. Right. It's just they're just Nick you can't get their offense. Can't I can't. I I would love to have the research to check like how many teams have gained under two hundred yards in one game by more than thirty points. People are worried that we're we've lost that loving feeling for the team of this is a playoff team. I believe in. Like, see people. You mean like me, and Dan, and the basically most of the vast majority of pod listeners seem to think that we don't we're not as excited about this team. Do they have a couple of high impact losses or high profile losses this season? I want to see a dramatic win where they really kind of show you that's fair what their ceiling is. But in the meantime, they're five and three, and that's a good place to be all ready one. Almost six wins is the most wins. They've had since two thousand thirteen. So you're one away from that already and poor bills fans. They're they're having a great time. They're throwing themselves through tables or bratwurst in the parking lot. It's zero zero to the first quarter. Like, oh, maybe we could steal his game. Halftime twenty eight nothing. The bears next four games. They have the really in Lyons twice in the giants. Once. That's good. Then the Rams. By that's looming. Let's move on. Darnold, bats handles it throws out but role Baker done the sideline. He's got. Baker with. For that one. Ooh. Jimmy cephalopod the rest of the dolphins radio network cabinet Gail time rookie linebacker drone Baker dick Sam darnold took it to the house. The game settling score dolphins. Thirteen six win over.
WWE - Roman Reigns announces his leukemia diagnosis
"McMahon. And it's rough definitely for Roman reigns. Apparently, he's been dealing with it for eleven years. So all the best Roman reigns. A guy that always he goes in does for young people. Wish all he does for that company stepping away from the company so all the best Roman reigns there. And I'm sure I'll be talking about that this week on Tuesday. Wrestling Tuesday, part of my podcast that I do for under the hood with childhood. Glad you're with this. Here's we talk bears. Three one two three three two ESPN three three two three seven seven six phone number as the bears lose to the New England Patriots thirty eight to thirty one. We asked on the poll question, we're asking the lines as well is your letter grade for the bears to the first six games of the season. Fifty percent of you say see forty three percent of you say Bs. So it's pretty close between the CNBC. It's not a it's not a D. It's really a B minus two a C. It's three and three your five hundred. I mean, I mean, you can make five hundred sound how you want. If it wasn't for this play. If it wasn't for this happiest the the Packers. If it wasn't for these plays against the Miami Dolphins. If it wasn't for those plays against the patriots yesterday. Bottom line is is that those losses. But there are wins. There as well. And as I mentioned in our first hour, I'm looking to be wrong about the bears. Seventy nine is not bad when you have a first year coach and you're trying to dig out from underneath. I'm just hoping for better for this bears team that maybe they're better than I think, but we have to see as the season progresses. See how they're going to work out. I think that what I've seen for the bears. The first six games is similar to. Maybe what you see is that there's some improvement there with the offense. But it's still a long way to go because there are so many different wrinkles with this offense. And you look at the defense the defense look played well early you see how the defense is playing when Khalil Mack one hundred percent. This is not just a Khalil Mack defense there other guys defensively to need to step up as well. It's not Leonard Floyd defense. Others have to be able to get to the quarterback. Maybe it happens against Sam darnold on Sunday. We'll see. But I just when I saw from the bears defense last couple of games reminded me of lovey at the end. And really a lot of the John FOX era in which there is a lot in between there. We're after the the kickoff is there and the the opposite team is settled Lynn there's a lot of lot of plays in the back of the linebackers in front of the secondary cash cash over and over again big plays missed tackles that can't happen. Can't happen. So I I'm I'm I don't care if you're a team that's not just for the playoffs or not. That's gotta get better. So we're talking to you about this on the spirits Monday. Three one two three three two ESPN three three two three seven seven six is our phone number some thoughts from Mitch Trubisky. There's a lot of under throws and as a mistakes made by Trubisky. He just thought he played all right in yesterday's performance. If the patriots. All right made some plays here. And there we're moving the ball offense. But then you just go back to those given the ball away the Turner assumptions and not that I thought they were bad decisions or anything or bad throws. Just fifty fifty balls and the credit goes from making plays. But we got to continue to take care of the football. That's on me. But we didn't have the balls offense. Probably way we battled which gotta make sure that we just come closer together and get better from the experience and and go back to work this week because it takes all three phases and all eleven guys at the same time on each and every single play. So thought we did some good things. I thought I played all right. And just gonna watch the film and see what we can do even better feel like I left some completions out there. Immediately. You come back. You look at the completion percentage that you just want to complete every throw you you go out there. But I thought I gave him my my team a chance to win. We are close on the last play. But like I said before it's a combination of plays throughout the game. Which you gotta make sure that we continue to get better as an offense. I thought we did some good things today. But we just gotta make sure that we continue to clean up clean up. Our mistakes be even better on third down in the red zone. Continue to move the football and take pressure of our defense and special teams and make sure we're getting better in those areas. Well, so keeping proving as a team three one two three three two ESPN's are full number. Your letter grade for the bears in the first six games of the year. Greg in stream would on ESPN without Greg. Hey, how you doing? Thanks for taking my call. Thanks for your call. So my letter rate is a sea and to start off by head the bears at the beginning of season at six and eight then they got Khalil Mack. I went to seven and nine then after the first couple of games, and like, oh, maybe there in eighteen and the reason at the C is there. They're making a lot of the same stakes over and over and a say into games, they're not learning from their mistakes like miss tackles last against Tampa, you clean that up. And then you see a whole bunch of the patriot. Same thing for Mitchell Trubisky miss. This passes overshooting under throwing and then passes in the end zone where he doesn't see defender. I mean, those are the reasons I think they're they're not learning from their previous mistakes. All right. So you had them at six eight and one apparently a tie was going to be in that mix as well. All right. My friend. I'm glad you checked in Greg. I appreciate your phone calls. Some good thoughts there. He leaves line. Open three one two three three two ESPN's our phone number Mike in Lakeview with Jonathan owners. We talked bears on ESPN one thousand Michael, hey, how's it going? I'm just I'm confused. How people are getting a B if we're three and three, but I don't know. Aside from that. I give the bears or be right now. We're we're we're barely getting by. You know, we're barely passed. And we're three and three. I went to the game on Sunday. I was there. And I saw things that the coach didn't see I saw an injured Khalil Mack out there. Just basically like a pond I saw we let Tom Brady do whatever he wanted in the back young out and he made a lot of passes. We gave them time. I saw sloppy special teams which I haven't seen in a long time. You can't excuse special teams ball on that one kick return has to feel was wide open. I don't know where the coaching was on that. Or what special teams play that was? So I've seen a lot of negatives and three and three. And I mean, that's the record three and three is five hundred percent. So I give us a D. We're barely. We're barely squeaking by right now. And we're almost to the halfway point. And we're at risk of repeating last year over again. So fifty percent back in school was failing record, right? Yes. It was. I just graduate. You I see if you get fifty speech. You might be at her about give him a d a d for NFL curb. But if I don't know what school they went to the fifty fifth is not good go flames bike. Go flames. I don't know, man. I they played good last year. When I was there flames, you say go there, you go buddy. That was that really was the hallmark of flames fan there. Go flames. We really didn't play. Well, that Larry we could have played better at Fort Wayne game, usually the the laments from the literally go flames, you know. The yearly could have won the horizon last year. He'd be another beer bartender is usually when hot is it literally put this on the poll Felix at ESPN one thousand do you see things that Matt Nagy doesn't see? Yes. Or no. Mike Mike from Lakeview said he was at the game. And he saw things that Matt Nagy did not see on film. Three one two three three two ESPN is our telephone number John and Juliet would Jonathan hood here on ESPN one thousand here on this beer down Monday. Hello, john. Hey, how you doing for taking my call? You know, I'm doing we're we're we're three and three staring into the jets game. You know what I'm doing? I know you don't want though Brady didn't walk in the league and was a Super Bowl champion to begin with Pfizer some stuff. So you know, what I I give them a c plausible because at least offense has some kind of program. That is almost reminiscing. What New England does not too many teams have them. I don't wanna be the giants right now. At least at least they have a little bit assaulter role in the right direction. So I mean, don't let's not get down on Brady didn't come in. And just went Super Bowls. It took a while before. He did I understand. But I think that when you on this city, you have to call it the way you see it. Meaning that if there's some good and some bad see, that's the thing. This is not a D effort. I understand I understand Mike from Lakeview. He's the fan. So of course, he he sees things with the glass half empty. But what I'm saying is is that there's some five hundred the way, I look at it is there's some good and some bad like this. You're right. It could be the giant. It could be a bad situation. It's not usually this first year teams when a coaching staff looks at his roster and says man, there's a lot guys can't play on this roster. We cleaned up. And we got to get better for your two year three or four. Here's something that I think that I see that. Matt Nagy doesn't see he didn't see that that Josh Bellamy. And Dion SIMS should not be on this roster.

"We talk about it all the time. Jeez onto the injury. Front bears defensive end Leonard Floyd had surgery on a broken hand plus bunch of knee issues left tackle position Panthers, Matt Kalil box Donovan Smith and ravens Ronnie Stanley. We're all in the news. So rowdy Stanley has a sprained knee that doesn't sound bad. Donovan Smith has a spray knee and they say he's out two to four weeks. MAC Lille got his niece, go PT that had been aching in bothering him. You know, he got it cleaned up then never sounds really good. Like, you know, sometimes cleanups like when you've got like a bone chip in your elbow or something that's not a big deal. But you know, when you clean up of your knee, the stuff they're taking out is stuff that's really supposed to be in there. You know, for absorption, it's really supposed to be up in there as a shock. Absorber shock absorber, and they're taking it out. Doesn't sound real. Good. The funny thing about Leonard Floyd there, but it's only broken and he can play split cast on it. I did that. Actually, I did that against doing in the preseason. My rookie year I played out there was a broken left hand with a cast on it. On the one hand, it really stinks not to be able to use that hand like to grab with it because you really want to be able to grab on the other hand, I was swinging that thing that people I was going crazy with that thing because you really can't hurt it. You know, once they put the cast on it like that. Jeez, Ross. We had a game since Monday, show ravens colts. Any takeaways from that? Well, I kind of talked about it with with Gregg. I thought the John Brown catch was awesome. I thought overall, Andrew luck looked good throwing the ball now. The one interception wasn't good. I think he thought Christopher. Michael was going to come back inside more, but it was still wasn't a smart decision by Andrew luck. But overall, I think I was encouraged by his health, very discouraged by Lamar Jackson, Brian. I just can't. I can't sugar coat that very discouraged by what I saw from from Lamar Jackson, just. It's hard to picture him ever throwing the ball well enough to be successful quarterback, and I hope I'm wrong, and I hope he does it and that would be great. I mean, I, I want that to happen, but man, it's it's kind of hard to see. Jeez, and finally rookie quarterback, Josh Allen is going to start the third preseason game for the Buffalo Bills. Any thoughts there. Yes. So the fun thing is for me about it. Are they Josh Allens been terrific, and I think he deserves opportunity, but Nathan Peterman, but almost flawless. So it's really a quarterback competition. I don't. I don't know about this one because peterman's been flawless as well. Speaking of flawless. You a lot of people out there. Bri have security systems that believe it or not are not necessarily flawless that's were simply safe, comes in. If a storm takes out your power simplisafe's their intruder, cut your phone line.
