"The rams way to winning the Super Bowl? Yeah, he was there missing peace. You know, in November, when he came over via trade from Denver, the rams, they sort of fell into this valley, and they were losing games, and they weren't getting a lot of opportunities to stretch the passer on the other side because the way they were losing was early deficits against ball control teams. So in that regard, you then can't sort of pin your ears back on the other side. So you really didn't know what von Miller at his peak would look like. With this group, right? Well, when the postseason started, you learned real quick. What peak von Miller would look like with Aaron Donald with Leonard Floyd. Now Brady starts from the 30 yard line. Look out for behind. Paul is out. Scoops back there by von Miller. And the rams have it. 12 tackles, 6 of them for loss, four sacks, two of those sacks came in the Super Bowl. One Miller racing through the MVP of the Super Bowl 6 years ago. He comes in to make it a third down and 18 and that's a half dozen sacks for Los Angeles. Here is what is. His impact was so huge emotionally, too. He started bringing his own personal replica of the Lombardi trophy from that 2015 Super Bowl. He would set it on the table in the training room where every player had to walk past it every single day and he wrote post it notes next to it as if the trophy was talking to them. One of them said something like how bad do you want me if you win me, you will live for eternity or something like that. Wow. And it's also something that people notice. Bond Miller realized that he could have a free agency this time for the first time in his 12 year career. People around the league turned their heads and saw, hey, this guy still got something not only that, but he can provide that emotional lift as well. I just love the image of him walking into the room. I'm just going to leave this right here. Let me just I'll just set this right here, okay? Can you guys keep an eye on this? Yeah, yeah, exactly. Exactly. So von Miller left for the bills in March. What's your sense of how close the rams were to keeping him and how much of a shock was it to LA when he left for buffalo? It was a complete shock because von Miller actually told the rams that he would be back, as long as they got the money in his deal right, but the bills came in swinging really hard, really late in the process because they needed a pass rusher. That was the very thing that most hindered the bills in the final seconds, literally, of their postseason run from actually advancing that infamous 13 seconds against Patrick Mahomes and the chiefs. And all of a sudden, they're alerted to the fact that the rams are not willing to offer von Miller a third year of guaranteed money because the rams had never historically done that in their entire team build. So the bills caught wind of that and they came in swinging hot and heavy in the final hours and on a Wednesday around noon right before free agency officially opened. Sean mcvay got a call from von Miller and he said he wasn't coming back. And the room just got so quiet because it was a complete surprise. Well, ultimately, von Miller had 9 sacks in 12 total games with the rams if you include postseason and regular season. How are they planning to replace his production can they replace his production? Who steps into that role? To me, it's still one of the biggest questions facing them. They obviously pivoted and they attended to their offense. And the rams believed that any time they've got a top 5 offense and a top ten defense than they are Super Bowl contenders. So that was sort of where they turned their attention to after losing out on von Miller. But in terms of rushing the passer, this is something that's going to come up over and over and over again. They will find different ways to do this. They've got a lot of really unique players, not just now at inside linebacker, but also in their secondary. So you can design to make up for a lack of single person pressure, the way that von Miller was able to attack. The question is, is it sustainable long-term? The rams do still have Aaron Donald. They do still have Leonard Floyd. They still had Aaron Donald and Leonard Floyd before they traded for von Miller last year. So to me, this is going to be the biggest question of the season for the rams. Ahead of the trade deadline, do they pull the trigger once again, the slate of quarterbacks they're going to face after the trade deadline include Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, and I know I'm forgetting one, right? That's enough. Maybe Josh Allen once again, right? And so staring down the barrel at that slate. I mean, that makes that November 1st, October 31st, window for the trade deadline, that makes that loom all the larger. Okay, well, moving on to off season saga number three or four if we're counting McVeigh as one. The next item is questions about this rams offense. And I think here we have to start with another key loss, opera left tackle, Andrew Whitworth, who retired at the age of 40. How important was he to everything that the rams accomplished this past season? Well, he was a bedrock for them. He came in 2017 and immediately set a cultural tone for this team that they built upon, and I think that with Andrew, it wasn't just about consistency and stability at left tackle. Internally, he was bringing young guys along. He was coaching. He was teaching. You know, unfortunately for a lot of kids expected is that leadership is the guy who yells at people, but I just don't see leadership like that. I believe that leadership is really the ability. People want to walk in a room with you. People want to take on a task with you because of the way you do things, the way you carry yourself, the way you approach life, they say, man, I want to do life with that. They started referring to him at times as the conscience of the building. And so he still able to be around and he still comes and hangs out with the team and coaches a little bit. And he's still got an open door policy, but losing him, not just his substantial presence on the left side, but also that emotional impact that leadership impact that will be felt as well. So how is the offensive line shaping up without him and for anyone who doesn't follow this team closely? Who's stepping in at left tackle? And is that person ready to step into Whitworth's apparently enormous shoes? Yeah, size like 36. Yeah, Joe no boom. This is what he was drafted and trained to do. He just didn't get a chance to do it for a while because Andrew Whitworth just kept going and going and somehow just kept going, right? And so this is something that Jonah boom knew in his career that at one point he would have to be prepared for. And I think he is. Big question, though, is his durability. So not only does Joe have to stay healthy, but in terms of that leadership, Joe is a little bit quieter than Andrew ever has been in his entire life. So they're going to really look to you guys like rob havenstein, their right tackle who's now the most senior member of that room. They're going to look to him to really supplant some of that leadership that they mess with Andrew. Okay, so we had superstar defensive player almost retiring. We had coach thinking about retiring. We had another superstar defense player walk out the door. We have a great left tackle walking out the door. That's not enough, Jordan. We got one more thing to ask you about. Chaotic team. You said it. You said it. You warned us. One more and it pertains to the offense. That's the status of quarterback Matthew Stafford's elbow. Now, head coach, Sean mcvay, gave some people pause. I think when he referred to this in August as being a quote

"We're not here to play favorites. If you do that in this business, you're soon separated from your bankroll and it doesn't benefit us that are wagering on a weekend week out basis any more than it does a disservice to our listeners that come here looking for that unbiased coverage, trying to take actionable elements that we've isolated that they can use in their betting endeavors, whether it's for this game or a regular season matchup between Jacksonville and Cincinnati that took place way back when on a Thursday night. So I think it's a great point to bring up and oftentimes public perception can lead you to find investments that otherwise wouldn't present themselves. And when you're talking about the bangles, hey look, we can start with Joe burrow who's gone 6 in a straight up and against the number. The last 6 games, 73% completion percentage more than 328 passing yards per game, a touchdown interception ratio of 13 to two. That of course does not include his week 18 game or the Bengals week 18 game, knowing that burrow sat that one out, he's done some great things. Since week 14, the guy has been outstanding. He finished the Kansas City game to your point a well under 7 yards per play, and 14 of 19 with making quick throws. He's not a guy that had a ton of time to sit in the pocket survey the field and spread it around like he did against the Baltimore Ravens. So when you're trying to figure out the offensive game plan, for Joe burrow, to play to his strengths against this rams defense. Is it as simple pain is trying to go empty and letting him get the ball out of his hand inside of two seconds. So Aaron Donald Leonard Floyd and von Miller aren't breathing down the back of his neck. It does make sense, right? And even though Joe burrow wasn't sacked a bunch in the Kansas City game, he was still pressured on 41% of his dropbacks. And that's the one thing we're digging into now metrically is pressure rates great. It impacts the quarterback, but how much of that pressure turns into sacks? And so you have a team like the rams who creates pressure and turns those in sacks, the chiefs, on the other hand, create some pressure, they just don't convert a ton of sacks. We obviously saw Chris Jones botched two of them. But if you're Bengals better here, the hope is Zack Taylor sleeping in his office for two straight weeks. He's up against his mentor. The guy that literally plucked him off the street, my understanding is he wasn't going to be working in the NFL in 2017 until McVeigh made him an assistant, wide receivers coach. So Taylor needs to figure out in my mind how to not be so predictable. That's where this first starts in my mind. How to disguise things. And I think the mission gets tougher in terms of disguising if CJ ozama isn't a 100% or is playing limited snaps with the MCL, which again, by all accounts, wouldn't be playing if this were a regular season game. When burrows under center, it's a run. When burros and shotgun, it's a pass. When you combine pass rates from shotgun and run rates from under center, there isn't a more predictable offense than Cincinnati this season. So something has to change here. This isn't just like we all hate Zack Taylor kind of thing. But this is why the sharpest minds who do this both betting analytically watching film don't think much of Zack Taylor. Because if you want to run from center on first down like you did against the chiefs every damn down. The rams defense, unlike the chiefs, is number one in the NFL in early down run EPA perusal out. Even formational the Bengals are predictable. When two receivers are on the field, 71% run. When three receivers are on the field, 33% run. You're literally tipping your hand all the time. The offensive line isn't great. But there's some things that Zack Taylor could have been doing throughout the course of this season that he hasn't done to help protection. 77% of the time the Bengals are in three wide sets. No other formation is used more than 18% of the time for Zack Taylor. The rams defense, they've let 43% of plays to great successful this season from three wide receiver sets. 16 interceptions to 13 touchdowns allowed sack the quarterback 35 times. It's obvious, but you have to mention it. Rams are number one in passwords. One right? Bengals are 30th and past block win rate. It's been a problem all season. The key here Todd is, I think, figuring out what the pass game looks like for Cincinnati. And how they're going to have to manufacture some things through the air. I know we can kind of dive into that. But I think if you're Bengals fan, you're gonna hate hearing this again, but it's like they face the easiest schedule of defenses this season. Second easiest by some metrics. They haven't faced the top 5 passing defense all season. And if you look at burrow in his last 14 starts, he's played one top ten passing defense. If you look at his last 16 games, Joe burrows played only four defenses that are league average or better in passing efficiency. And in those four games, Burroughs got a two to one interception to touchdown ratio. 47% success rate. He has a negative 0.14 EPA per pass attempt against those defenses. He's also taken 19 sacks in those games. The approach kind of how you was the main question at the top here. The approach has been pretty simple. It's like get the ball out of borough's hands quick. And if you look at those four games against the above average past defenses, boroughs released the ball at a well above average clip. 11th fastest in one game, 9th fastest, tenth fastest, and then second fastest release times of the quarterbacks that played in those four weeks. So if it's not a predictable first down run for Nixon, I would expect burrow to your point to be in shotgun to be an empty formation. Bro does have a ridiculous 72% completion rate from empty sets this season, but it diminishes how effective the receivers can be. Because only 22% of burrows pass attempts from empty, travel more than ten yards. Burrow has a negative EPA from empty this season as well. This is really an imperfect system. Cincinnati is just so far ahead of schedule in this rebuild. It's nuts. You can still see these glaring holes. Ideally, you want to attack the middle of the field if you're sensing. What is a nice story?.

"The time. You throw the ball around a little bit. you just go through your routine. This is what i'm going to do when the season starts. Well that i'm watching this game demarco. And maybe if sean mcvay is killing the preseason maybe andy reid is reviving the preseason. Patrick mahomes played well into the second quarter in fact. Didn't really look that good kind of didn't look sharp at all through a pick and his last ball that i just saw and cuyler murray played through the second quarter for arizona's so when we think of the preseason and stars not playing and particularly quarterback stop playing interesting that keiler murray and patrick mahomes would go head to head for a quarter and a half in a preseason game. I was kinda shocked by that. I was saying the same thing. Patrick mahomes pull the ball down and ran and took a shot in the middle of the field. Got hit in the back. And i'm like what a risk you know anything could happen Concussion hurt his hand. Who knows that's your guy and you put them at risk in the preseason. I'm sure andy reid held is breath. But i actually took that. From travis travis asked me that question about did sean mcvay kill the preseason and i said possibly think about it. He doesn't play anyone in the preseason and he's won sixty seven percent of his game since he's been a head coach so it can be done. He is showing you. It can be done. But i would say this. Not every coach is made the same. Some coaches need preseason as much as the players. Do you know what i mean. So it's just as big a risk put mahomes out there as it is for sean mcvay to not play matthew stafford in the preseason and just expect him to be ready week one september so it's a risk either way but i'd rather risk it with my guy being safe in the preseason. I just would hate to lose a guy in preseason when it doesn't count and let me tell you why wildlife joint practices. Because they're controlled can get work. I can go against the raiders. I can go against the charges really get work at football the fundamentals. Which is what. We're trying to do to get better now. What happens in a game now. This is football. It does not count. It does not matter if the ball comes out. Say i'm aaron. Donald and he's on the field for ten plays and the quarterback center have a bad exchange and the ball is laying there. Well by right he has the dive in there and try to recover the football and people can pile on him and little nixon booze and injuries happened on stupid things like that that carry over into the regular season so i really liked the way sean mcvay is doing it. I'm just not sure if every coach in the nfl can do it like him tomorrow. Let me get your thoughts on this because you said this earlier as well and i really wanted to dig in on it you said and you you seem to have been just about every rams practice and you were there earlier this week and obviously you'll be on the sidelines. Saturday night against the raiders. You said you have some some real concerns about the rams defense and i think most of us presume. The rams defense is a strength. I suppose we probably think about it. The defensive line position but then also in the secondary even though they've lost some guys when you're watching the rams over these last few practices. What has you so concerned about the ramsey and it was the first time when we had andrew on this liana. We had been trying to get on radio together forever or at least talk about football in a public setting and that this was the first time on this show so while i just got lucky. I happened to text him last night. I just wanted to bust this chops about his whole philosophy about not having any special teams plays. They're always going forward on select now. I mean we'll talk about that one later but no we had that discussion about defense and everything he said. I kind of echoed. I know. Leonard floyd is your best outside option ten sack guy and i think he has a chance to grow and get better but who's opposite him on the other side. I think it's going to be kind of a revolving door or kind of a bullpen game at outside backer outside of him. If it's an obvious passing down you may see oboe ulker wrong quo if it's a mixed down if terrell lewis healthy you may see him. He's the best combo guy. But you're still trying to figure out who that guy is. That's an issue. Michael brokers was tough. He could play four different positions on the defensive line. He can go from outside shoulder of the tackle all the way down to the inside shoulder of the center and not miss a beat. Now this is a guy that was the first round pick. They've got nothing but better. Iran's uniform so i. I don't expect anybody to be that good this early. But as far as a one to one swap. I don't see that guy And you're not gonna see them in the preseason so it's an area of concern and like we talked about at safety you're losing a lot. John johnson. the third you're you're losing ball. Hawkin ability experience leadership. He was the guy that called the plays last year. So you're losing a lot on defense There's a lot of what ifs and a lot of hopes Going into that defense right now so it is kind of concerning now. What does give me pause or what does make it a little bit easier. Easier and mitigate that some is you do have our novel and there hasn't been a guy yet in this league that can stop him on. And you do have jalen ramsey so you do have the eraser and instant pressure so that part of the defense is fine. Just like matthew stafford. I know that part of the offense is going to be fine now. It's just those other games. When you get into those cold weather games in seattle when you get into those slugfest in san francisco and san fran comes to town where you need that toughness upfront. And you need that smart safety play when you have on the field at the same time that combo guy. Those are the things that give you pause but like i said early in pre season. We haven't seen them really go live just yet so their concerns now they might not be big deals. Come september all right. Well that's good..

"And said if kerry heidrick can do it and get paid in this league who by the way is an undersize guy. And i can be hyper hyper active. And i can play ten snaps. Hyperactive level instead of five snaps. I'm going to do that. I'm gonna do that for my career so that did not surprise me at this stage. He chose explosiveness over some of the size strength. And girth brought the other guy. Who has done that. As daryl taylor and seeing him out there i was expecting a much bigger dude. And that's not to say he's small but he's really slimmed-down. I'm you know talking to cliff earlier about the three four versus the four three and it sure seems like they want him standing up just based on just based on the way it looks right now. Yeah i think a lot of us. Comte him to frank clark. Yeah that's not a fair come. No he's he's not frank clark. No he's almost frank. Clark and k j at a baby. It might be him. He's sort of built. Almost more. Like bruce irvin yes even reserves weird build. So that's not like no one's built like preserving he's a really strange bill but as far as muscle and as far as just every single person i think all of his peers and the de lyon over the last week that have been asked about him and for all the eyes of the finally seen him on that berm and otherwise. I think it's all the same like man. That dude is just freaky fast. Just ask just freaky explosive. Which exactly. I not talking about that with eljay. That's what he wants to be. But that's where this league is going man for for those defensive lineman for this players up front. Think about him mayor. Donald greatest defense alignment in this league. He's two hundred eighty pounds do but he runs four or five. Leonard floyd six sacks against the seahawks last year. what does he i mean. That's what darryl. Tatum looks like right. I mean he's not not as long as leonard floyd but it's that same man. I wanna be uber fast that this game is more about space more about tempo. More more more teams are playing that kind of style so conversely i need speed speed speed speed at every single level and i think he provides certainly some of that upfront. Did you say you emailed me that you saw goodell. You saw goodell i did. That's like that's like seen haley's comment so we were supposed to have. We were supposed to have our seminar at the tyranny in dollars house. Yeah we're supposed to have fox seminar. Fox's awesome job blending the nfl and college guys together. Nfl comes in on the front end. You're a college guy again now. Right this definitive you'd downgraded back to call it. Whoa whoa whoa. Whoa watch watching. Sorry sorry i mean beta whereas verdes yes to work at the tail or that whole area rolling hills and unfortunately all the plans and then the county kind of changed some course there so like in a two week span. The totally changed. We went to the biltmore where it was one. Hundred eleven degrees. But you know really nice hotel in airborne phoenix. There really really nice place. Some in the weight room getting little workout on has a couple of hours in between and all of a sudden sky kind of walks in with somebody else among kind okay. Whatever had had on didn't even recognize him and he's doing like all this medicine balls or stuff isn't after pretty good. And i believe yeah and the later that night i saw one of the producers that was in there on the peleton these like what could als workout surprise goodell like oh so you were in a weight room with goodell for long. You didn't even talk to him. Not how even recognize them. Do i did not yet his hat or the worst did not even recognize all right. So you didn't get to talk to him but he did a really cool. "So we were talking about. Aaron rodgers returning to packers camp in the last segment and i want to replay that audio because to me anyone who would question aaron rodgers commitment to the team this season. I don't even understand why you would do that. I mean your basic conflicting issues. He didn't wanna play for them. But there was an agreement and some concessions were made and now between the white lines. He's ready to roll folks. You can compartmentalize that stuff. But he was on after practice and network asked him some questions and he made sure to let people know he's one hundred percent. How good is it to walk back on. This field is back here with your brothers. I mean it's the best feeling. It was a little strange. I think they wanted just because i was gone for the entire offseason contemplated my own future the possibility of playing somewhere else as well but when i'm back here i'm one hundred percent in you know and you know me you know what i'm all about. I love my teammates. I left competing. I love practice. I love the go out. And give it to the young corner when i can and get after these guys talk a little smack especially with the new d. coordinator area to let them know how it goes around here you. It's good to be back there. Yeah does that guy sound like. He's not all in. Does that guy not sound like he's still aaron rodgers aaron rodgers. Of course he is. The packers are gonna be just fine now. Look what's going to happen beyond this season we'll see. I still will contend that the packers made a big mistake by not dealing him when they had the chance when he still had in theory at that time two more years left on his deal and i guess the opportunity to leverage and other team to get more assets. I think that now you're not going to get the same return that you once hat. That's just my personal opinion. However when they hit the field the packers are still going to be one of the best teams in the nfl. Because you know what they have. Aaron rodgers a good team around him but they have aaron rodgers. and that's the most important thing that position is the most important position for a reason so when you got a guy. That's good little special like aaron rodgers. You're going to be fine. Speaking of good quarterbacks i was seeing story about the rams. And i'm not going to sit here and tell you that i was the biggest jared goff fan. I think jared goff's good player. I don't think he's a great quarterback. I certainly don't think he's a special quarterback. Now matthew stafford comes in. I think matthew stafford is a great quarterback. I think he's played on one of the worst franchises. Forget about just in the nfl. Perhaps in sports in the detroit. Lions if you were doing a list of the worst franchises in all of sports the lions would absolutely in your top five. I don't care what you're a fan of atrocious. For god's sake there's only so much one guy can do. So leonard floyd who's when the star linebacker for the rams sitting there saying the other day after practice like joe this defense which by the way the rams defense was incredible they were either one or two in pretty much. Every statistical category you can measure. Last season is going to be great again this season. What would one would assume said. He's making us better on defense. So yes i know. The rams lost cam acres and i think camakers is a really impressive young running back. It's unfortunate what happened to him with the achilles and of course it happened while he was training but the one fortunate news and this goes for any team really as much as i love camakers. I think camakers got a little bit of the short end of the stick in college..

V is from lenny I wanna start by asking you to pick a ram who you think could be one to watch. This season. Could ever like a real exciting. Maybe take a leap or break out. Just someone who. You're excited about. Leonard floyd i know that leonard floyd had a big season last year he had ten and a half sacks really kind of turn his entire career around but i don't think he got the credit that maybe he deserve. I know we got the contract but but maybe from kind of the rest of the nfl. I think you should earn some nods as far as pro bowl and whatnot. So maybe he'll he'll second season encore performance kind of get more recognition around the league that he deserves interesting all right. Second question You've been to sophie stadium. I have never been there. I will be there for the first time. Ever in mid august for the rams preseason. Can you give me a dining recommendation. What if we just got to taste the food couple of weeks ago. Last season was rolling box lunches. And i would say that taught these tater tots that were covered in some sort of saracho sauce and they were really really good on. Some of the food looked a little looked. A little sketchy to me like they have tried to reinvent the hamburger. It's going with the round patty and they wouldn't play the long kind of hot dog version. I just wasn't really hot. Like a tangle. Yeah yeah exactly. It was like a long rectangle hamburgers that just that alone. Kind of like a super slight. Yeah it wasn't wasn't my jam. It takes staying focused on a goal knowing where you want to be and they will have to pour everything in to get their other times. You just need to dig deep and show some guts to be brave and never let anything stand in the way of what you can accomplish then there are days where you just have to get in the gym and see some gains. But i'd go with the tots i think they're called the su- nami tots. I love dot speaking of tots. Let's talk about john. Wolford my favorite ram really. It's a shame he's not probably not going to get shot at the starting job with the stafford trade. I dress daddy's all all your. He's always one snap away. What do you think happens to him after the season. Because he's sean. I think sean mcvay loves him. And i think that shuttle. Sean do whatever it takes to keep john wolford On the rams roster as their backup quarterback how come no one gives me credit for being the original leader of the wolfpack credit all the time you know text you all the time little john wolford tidbits crediting you because you saw i. I feel like i discovered him. It's like the who We have Jonathan devonian was like the first writer who went to greece to watch janas play and came back. That's how i feel about john. Wolford honestly i feel like i discovered your excitement. I will never forget it when you watched him lighted up in the preseason and you thought that guy is really really good i mean you vocalized it loud and proud. That will always that that to me will always be what goes on the headline of your resume. When i think of munich wolford. I counted john. Wolford at the very least. I was like i. I don't think he's better than blake. Bortles where is blake bortles. But he's he's in green bay weird. Okay that's weird. Okay question for. I like to ask my guests for content recommendations..

"Trade michael brokers there you know. There's some secondary issues. I think in outside of jalen ramsey that maybe they have to address. Of course you got aaron donald there and they did bring back. Leonard floyd so they do playmakers but i think that the browns are probably going to be maybe a little bit better than the. I don't know well i said the rams are gonna are slightly better but i don't know i feel like you could still exploit the browns defense. I don't know we'll see what happens that then moving onto week four the bears take on the lions in chicago. I think this is a farewell match up. I think you know around this time. Maybe fields does start. But we'll see. I think this'll be a good match for him. The start against the lines defense really is not that good There of course in a rebuild. So i think that whoever starts if he could do well here. I think the receivers do well here to divisional match. Montgomery does well here. This is a much. This farewell will match up for the bears and then moving onto we five. I think this is also a favorable match for the bears to the raiders. They go to vegas. Take on the raiders of four or five. On cbs cbs. I think he's a favorable matchup here. Just because the raiders defense is not that good. However i do what i will say. Is the raiders. Do play well at home. And i think that that is going to maybe play a factor because their team tends to do really well at home in the black hole while it's really the black hole anymore you know so. I think it'll be a little bit tough. But i feel like the bears. They'll be able to move the ball. I think montgomery will have a field day with this game with this With this rush. Defense for the raiders. Robinson could do well here. He's see hayward is probably going to go up against him so that should be an interesting matchup but yet when it comes to the raiders defense really. Isn't that good. So i could definitely see the bears doing okay here. Even whoever starting you know whether it's fields whether it's dalton. I feel like they can both do well. No matter who's starting so moving onto week six. The green bay packers come to town to take on the bears. I feel like montgomery could do well here. Just because the packers rush defense is really not that good I don't allen. Robinson could probably do okay. I feel like it might be i. Aaron rogers does play I feel like the packers. Probably win. This game pretty handily just because i still feel like they dominate the north. And i feel like they're better still better than everybody in. The north of aaron rodgers does play. So that'll be a factor but you know because with the garbage time points at feel like you know the quarterback's they can do okay here. I just don't think the packers defenses. Dad elite that the bears the bears. Offense is gonna get totally shut down. So i i could definitely see you know adult than feel zuno in this match up the middle of the road but i lean more towards a somewhat favourable match up however in week seven. I do not see this being a favorable match at all the bears go to tampa to take on the buccaneers. A four twenty five game on cbs. This is not a favorable matchup for justice fields. Any dole really for anybody on this buccaneers thi this. This bears team. I think montgomery will struggle in this game just because the bucks rush defense is really good. And i just feel like the quarterbacks are going to be under duress all day going up against this front seven like i talked about the buccaneers. They brought back everybody. They got everybody coming back. Go out again can't wait. Yeah so this is probably an unfavorable match for the bears here. Probably avoid sitting some guys from the bears Who borderline starter bench player. Obviously you know if you have a better running back situation if you got. Montgomery is kind of like your third option. You probably send him. This week i really don't like any of the next three matchups either for the bears. So next the forty niners come to town to take on the bears and this is another bad matchup. If the forty niners defenses anywhere close to what it was. You know you probably want to sit some of the guys that you have my have from the bears as well just because they got a good rushdie now obviously they got rid of deforest buckner but they did draft giovane king law to kind of fill the void of that he was okay I think of course you'd probably still prefer boxer but buckner was gonna pay. Buckner was into cost them a lot of money. And that's why they traded but they're able to fill the void you know. Obviously nick boast is coming back and we don't really know the status of de ford. Believe so you know the defenses. It's going to be what it was you know. I think what's going to be. The problem is going to be the forty niners secondary. You know they do have some playmakers back there. But i feel like they're. They're they're secondary definitely be exploited. So i think it's probably start out robinson there but i think this is a very unfavorable matchup for a quarterback that you might want to start from the bears whether it's fields whether it's dalton and of course David montgomery as well and again. It doesn't get any easier week. Nine the bears go to pittsburgh to take on the steelers and eight fifteen game. Monday night football yes favorable matchup here. To andy dalton. Justin feels everything is going to struggle here. However i would actually what i will say is the secondary is the issue for the steelers. If the quarterbacks able to have time they might be able to you know maybe do some damage against the secondary of the steelers. however. I don't see david montgomery doing good here because steelers rush defense is really good So i would say that. Well i would say seven of course was really good. Obviously in the playoff game the browns able to do whatever against him but yeah. I'd probably avoid starting some bears players that week. That's probably an unfavorable match up then. In week ten the bears have a bye week. Eleven then the ravens come to town to take on the bears. This is probably an unfavourable match appeared to the ravens. Have a really good secondary. i'd probably avoid. Starting the bears defense void starts players from the bears offense that week but actually what i will say for the forty niners game and the steelers game. I think those are somewhat good match ups for the bears defense. Just because you know the steelers really don't have an offensive line and you know. I think the bears defense could do well against garoppolo or trey lance but of course they gotta deal with kiddle and deebo and i use. Oh but yeah moving on then. Of course you back to what moving back to the ravens game. Yeah this is going to be a struggle. I think for the offense. I would say montgomery probably struggles here. I'd probably say allen robinson my struggle here. Yeah i just i. It's gonna be tough match-up up. The defense of the ravens is really good. They're back ends really. Good probably avoid starting people from the ravens that The bears that week over week twelve. They do get a more favorable matchup at the lions. This is the game thanksgiving game. Actually start the bears defense that we you start pretty much..

Report: J.J. Watt ‘seriously considering’ signing with the Browns

"The browns on the first teams to show interest in signing defensive end. Jj watt after. He was released by the texans on friday and it appears that the interest is mutual. Cleveland dot com reports that. What is seriously considering making his way to cleveland. To play for the browns due to the cap space they have available and a roster he thinks can potentially compete for the super bowl. Now we all know it's been a while since any big name free agent shows to sign with the browns. Do you think that. Jj watt is actually a realistic option for them. So i've left or swipe right. I think it's very realis- either. You put them next two miles. Gary that i mean yeah. That's really smart right here. Yeah that'd be a great acquisition. I immediately went to the rams as a possibility the idea of teaming two guys who are three time defensive players of the year would be an unbelievable option. Here's the issue. They probably do have room to work it out but it might be a question of. Jj watt or john johnson and leonard floyd in that scenario and that world do you go. Jj watt or do you go the other guys. I would go the other two guys but it's close really close. So does cleveland one. Sign what i said. Who don't want to sign what they're what i

"Seconds left anybody go going to go to the halftime down 14 6 to 1 Score games Bonus. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They got that big p I, d p I and the left side. The On on Evans since he was get the ball back to half you know, what are you doing? Just let them run the clock out. You get the ball back. It's an eight point game. You could tie it up you realize was the first time in Super Bowl history. That a Team scored all the touchdowns of players that weren't on the previous year's roster. I did not know that make sense. Yeah, it was the first time you said there's a lot of first and that's where the something's about circles is. It's a unique game outside of almost any other scope. But, yeah, that was the first time in Super Bowl history that you had Touchdowns. All your touchdowns were scored by players that weren't on the roster the previous year. So you had two from Garak. You had one for maybe, and then you have a letter for net also or touch, and I didn't even think about that. Yeah, even on the roster at the start of the year. Like that's that's how wild that is. None of the other grand quest, But when did he joined was a right away was early on. He was before the train is unfortunately camp. Okay, so he was the only one that was like, early on. And then? Yeah. Leonard Floyd letter for that was later And then maybe he was like, mid season, right? Yeah, That was the first time it was also as well. You know, we'll get into a little bit later on in the next segment. More so about the pressures it was the most pressures ever on opposing quarterback is suitable histories. We'll talk about that a little bit, but I thought it was kind of interesting with Bruce Arians, who was the oldest head coach, T O ever win a Super Bowl and I was thinking about Vic Fangio and how perfect Fangio also who got hired late in his career, like what It means that I'm looking at, You know the record history here, a Bruce Arians and what he's able to do. He was an interim in 2012 and Andy They went 93 that year that he went to Arizona..

"I don't think there is too much to give up. I mean, if you look it if you look at paces, first round success, right? What? What do they say about first round picks to begin with they have what a 50 50 right hitting. It's not a It's not a certainty, that's for sure. So it's like 50 50 as far as a standard general manager's concerned under Ryan Pace. What's been his head? It's been Ro Kwan, right? Yes, that is it. That's it. So I would you give up, bro? Quan Smith? Um yes. Mitch. Travis ke Kevin. Why? Yes. And who am I forgetting with pass rusher from Georgia Letter? Floyd Leonard Floyd, Do you wanna hear like this is give upon for for for two. Shaun, Watch this four first round picks right there. This is how the NFL draft is kind of a crap shoot. Okay, so just go back. Cause we always talk about, like, Give it three years, right? Just conservative. Why I went back to the 2015 draft. Okay. First pick of the draft is Jamis Winston. Followed by Marcus Marry OTA, followed by Dante Fowler. Defensive end Amari Cooper, Brandon Scharff, Leonard Williams, Kevin White, Vic Beasley, Erik Flowers, Todd Gurley Trae Waynes. Danny Shelton Andrews, Pete's Devante Parker, Melvin Gordon, Those Your top 15 picks Now there are some guys in there that you'd like to have right. But there are I don't think there's anyone in that group that you say. Oh, I can't live without him. Of course. I mean, Amari Cooper is really good. Sheriff is a very good offensive tackle letter. Williams has played significantly better in recent years. Quarterback. It's so valuable, someone said of the Herschel Walker deal. And Ricky Williams. Did that prove it was too much. Those air also running backs We've learned through the years quarterback conversations different that they're interchangeable. Yeah, but like S O There is a limit, though. I mean, are you going to give up your first round pick for the next 10 years? Let's just say like, I don't know what the rule is. But when you say Is there anything that's too much to trade for him? We'll have a give up at least three at least. Okay, Well, you first round five. Whatever they want, five and three second round picks. Is that too much? I don't think so. What about six first round picks and five second round picks like I mean, like you, but that's the question here. You're right. You're right. You get to the point where there's too much because going with that, will you well, but you also have to factor into the equation. You can't not make the deal based on fear that somebody's going to get injured. But by the same token, you also have to take into consideration that this sport is different than others, and there is a shelf life. Two players and their careers, especially quarterbacks. So like I would think that that would factor into your decision making and I'm with you. I mean, I'd be willing to give up a king's ransom. But I'm not going to give up five King's ransom's just because it's not I mean, there is a kind of be a limit to it. You can't just order back up anything without a quarterback. The Bears have reached the plaice twice in the last decade. Yes, but you know that they does that mean you need to give up your first round pick for the next 10 years without a quarterback. The Bears have won three playoff games in the 1st 20 years of this, the better it's heard century. Well, that's my point, but it would Your job becomes better and easier if you get the quarterback. Well, that is the key. Here. I get you drafted 20th. You're not going to get him. Okay? But if I let's say I got a different person looking over things I may be able to find the guy. At 15 or 20 that ends up being my my, my quarterback of the future, and then I don't have to give up all that stuff because I have a more competent Talent evaluator, Tony on the South side, Tony, you're on ESPN 1000. What's up? Hey, Thank you guys. Good show this one of, uh, talk about a couple subjects to Colby. And of course, let me start off, said I appreciate it there. Was 10 years old at that point, and that river to claim any So I remember them guys, But let's get back to that one caller that talked about the, uh, the, uh, Kobe and Derrick Rose there. That's not even involved. You take Colby. Derrick Rose was okay player. He could not shoot a jump shot and he would not play defense. So you're not gonna win with some type of guys? Plus, he was only +62. You're not gonna win a championship with a +62 point guard. You're just not gonna do it. Now talking about The shine. Watch it. Two first rounders. I'm not giving up more than two first round mine, Tony. Hey, listen, I'll tell you what he doesn't want to be there. You still have the win. The purpose of the want to sound watching coming here is to win the Super Bowl. If you give up too much, you're not gonna win the Super Bowl. Two first rounders and one of the guys off the defense. It is not going to be real Con Smyth. Boomer Mac, Huh? Keep one of them got you can't give up all of that and expect to win a Super Bowl in the next two or three years. And plus About the shark. I'm coming to Chicago for business purposes. I'm coming to make as much money as possible. Me being a black quarterback in the city of Chicago, Tony, I would I would say with regard to what you'd give up in terms of defensive players Like I don't value the middle linebacker as much as I value the cover corner and the pass rusher. I love rock, Juan Smith. But his position by its very nature is not as valuable as a pass rusher or cornerback. Right? So I would probably disagree with you on that front of it took another player. And again you're not gonna win the Super Bowl without without the quote that it is one anomaly If you do drafting 20th now, this is why I give you three of them. Okay, give you three. I give you three first trumpets. This one's gonna be 20. If I've got to Shawn wants and I've got other needs, but I still think I'm going to be better than I was this year. It is a bit better quarterback and I'll find a way to get my defense playing back on a much higher level. So 2020 two's first round pick is going to be higher than 20. Higher. I always you know, You know what I'm saying? 23 24 right. It's not going in. And then the following year when we're you know, we're on top of the NFL mountain because we've had to Sean now for two years. We're drafting 29th. Because we got to the NFC four. Why not? 1/4 1 mind at 1/4? Who cares? Well, there's there is a limit to begin with..

"Rich. I think the health questions. I'm gonna start you there with these guys, and you can hopefully help my listeners get an idea of the percentage of these guys where the rat healthwise going into this game. We'll start with the quarterback Jared Goff, What can you tell us about his thumb injury right now? Yeah, He was obviously be able to come in last week. Like you said John Woolford had to go out. Jericho came in early in the in the first quarter. It didn't look good if if anybody saw it on TV, and it looked like a size and the color that your thumb is not supposed to be, But there's nothing structurally holding them back. It's just more of a comfort level, and he has now had Basically another full week to have that recover. So the ball looked a little wobbly coming out of his hands at times last week, but nothing that was really dramatic, so so I would expect with another week. He's doing pretty good with that thing. I'm sure he's going to wear a glove today, so that will help with the grip. I'm sure if necessary, they'll give him a little injection toe help with the with the pain and he'll probably be good to go. Which do you think there's any long term damage? From the quarterback decision last week. Nick. They picking Woolford over him. I heard's got tired, golfs postgame comments. He didn't exactly say no, I back coach's decision. 100%. No, he did not. And I I could try to give you a 20 minute answer on this. But, yeah, I think it's something interesting to watch because the interesting thing to me was that the decision was made last week early in the week. On announced to the team and they didn't really even wait and see how Jared cops thumb was going to progress during the week, which is what I expected to happen. They would get Thursday or Friday and say OK, we think he can start. No, we don't think you can start they made that decision. Well before they needed to which to me was the most interesting thing. And Jared got even coming out saying, like You indicated he was basically lobbying to get that start. When the winch on it. They came to him. So Yeah, There's a certain amount of just competitiveness. I mean, Jared Goff is never going to want to hear No in that scenario s O that That certainly is part of it. The interesting part to me like I said, is that the timing of the decision So, Yeah, I think it will continue to be a story line. I'm not trying to, you know, stir up anything, but but I I think it was very interesting, but we're just reading the situation. We're not trying to be rumormongers or hot. Take artists. We're just taking it for what it is. And you're right there. Everything about The decision, I think, adds palace intrigue to what what happens at quarterback for the Rams after this year. How about Cooper Cup? I see, Peter Schrager said. He's not going to play or it's unlikely he's gonna play. Rich. Can you add to that report, Okay, even active. He tried to give it a go. There was actually footage of him. Social media, you know, getting on the plane, and he had a bad limp, even trying to get on the plane just walking around, So they brought him out there to Green Bay. Hoping maybe, you know, you never know. Guy gets the adrenaline going. Maybe you gets out there for warm ups, and he's better. But I don't think you want to put a guy out there diminished with a knee injury playing in the cold, that sort of thing. I think it was always kind of. Ah, little bit of a long shot. Okay, wanted to see whether he could go Rich Hammond. Great Rams. Insider from the athletic is our guest here on the Pony Express, CBS sports radio rich with the two things we've talked about so far, the quarterback being less than 100%. The Star Wide receiver out. If the Packers say we're going to make sure that we have numbers in the box numbers up front, we don't want Cam acres to beat us today. Can the ram. Still, even with the numbers game in the Packers lining up to stop the run? Do you have confidence, having watched the Rams the last few weeks that they can still find success running the ball today? I think they can that that line's been been increasingly solid this year, especially in the run game that the problems that they have offended kind of untaxed pass protection at times, But When when the Rams have committed to the run that that line has been a pretty good done a pretty good job of opening up some holes, and now we're seeing Cam makers established himself. That run game was all over the place this season. They had three guys they were trying to rotate. Can makers was hurt for a while. Gerald Henderson got some time. So now they've kind of settled in. I don't think it will be easy. Don't don't misunderstand, but I think with the guys that they have with Andrew Whitworth coming back now in his second game after coming back from a knee injury, there's a pretty strong in the middle with Austin Flight Center. They can and but but they're also going to need to have some balance and they're going to need your golf and not turn the ball over, so I think they absolutely need to be able to run the ball. On then they have to be able to throw it there without turning it over. I don't even know wretch who's going to start at left tackle for the Packers because their star stud left tackles out within the guy that they signed? Came down with covert 19, or at least was exposed to it is out for this game. So from that perspective, that's enough. That's a matchup you think the Rams want to exploit. Does that mean that Leonard Floyd's gonna line up over that left left tackle just about every snap rich? Potential. Yeah, that's interesting to me to the way that they liked us have done it, And it's very effective is have Leonard Floyd outside of Aaron Donald, no matter where before are lined up, because as we know Darren Donald takes up two, sometimes three Protectors, so it certainly has opened some things up for for Leonard Floyd, but I think I think they'll poke around on that early on and see maybe a B test that left tackle a little bit and see if that's an area they can exploit, but that they also like that that combination on the other side where where Aaron and Leonard have just teamed up a lot of like Like Aaron and Dante Fowler did last year. Very similar dynamic and not they have a lot of success s. Oh, yeah, I think they'll poke around and see how effective they can be. But they really like that combo. Rich before he let you run. And thanks for giving us so much time. Do you think that Jalen Ramsey travels? He almost never does. But do you think Because of the importance of this game to do or die nature of it, they changed their defense to allow him to stick with Davante Adams today. Yeah, I think so. They've tried to do that a little bit with the K Met cap and Seattle was actually trying to scheme away from jail. And Ramsey a little bit s. Oh, that's a very interesting matchup. I think they do. But they also have a lot of confidence real quick, just in those two other guys. No Darius Williams and Troy Hill. Rams cornerback Guys have returned interceptions for touchdowns in the last couple weeks, so I know that a lot of the attention is on Jalen Ramsey. But I don't think it's necessary unnecessarily that you can't That you can throw the ball on the other two and the other two guys, too, So it's gonna be a great matchup all the way around the Rams. I think they might need to turn over to you to win this game, so we'll see how it goes. And you think the weather is a factor? The cold weather thing that people like to bring up that narrative. You think that's relevant to golf? Or you think that's just Silly. You know, it has been. It's not. It's also I've got eyes haven't seen really anybody point out. It's not all that warmer than what? It wasn't Seattle Last week, they temperature was 39 degrees in Seattle. I think it's gonna be about 35. Today in Green Bay. Yeah, You're not going to get the snow or the leader of the hail or anything like if you have that. That's a little bit of a problem, but, yeah, Historically, that's the point is is accurate. Historically, Jared has not been as effective in those cold weather games. So yeah, that that would be.

"High ankle injury in week 15 and unlike anything I've seen before he came back and played on it two weeks later. Uh, so it's been a little bit hit in this, but it is last Saturday's performance is any indication that ankle feels really good. Uh, you know, I think a lot of could do with the offensive line up front. They got Andrew Whitworth fact left tackle. It made a difference. They've had some struggles, punching the ball into the goal line, especially the latter happy the season. But what were returned definitely helped that this last Saturday and therefore obviously helped the run game quite a bit so I can make her just really coming into his stride. He's played in some cold weather games. He played a Notre Dame. When it was really cold lately, season and college, So he's been there done that, But obviously this is a whole nother level. I am a bear stand. They give me a hard time about it as they should each and every week, but obviously was disappointed when the Bears released Leonard Floyd, who seems to be having a really good time out there in L. A. What should Packers fans expect from him as far as a threat goes this weekend? Yeah, he has turned it around 100%. You know, he has been able to consistently apply pressure game in and game now. I was asking Aaron Donald about it last week. And Erin was saying that together, he they really figured out their rush moves, and Leonard really knows how to play off of them. So I would expect him to constantly be in the backfield, pressuring Aaron Rodgers and Jen. You know more than they believe. Leonard Floyd has these incredibly long arms. So even if it looks like he's not quite going to get there, he extends that raging and he had 10.5 sacks this season for a reason he can get there. They playing up the teacher pupil aspect of this game at all between McVeigh and LaFleur. You know, I think that those two guys they're trying to play it down nonstop questions for both of them yesterday about their relationship, you know, both guys that they love each other, like brother. They spoke about how they were basically lived across the street from each other when they're in Washington, D C On out here how they had a lot of battles inside the meeting rooms, eh? So I think there's a lot of love there. I think they are trying to play down. They always just a game. We're focused on the Rams versus the pastors. But not before out there had to face some of his former or some of his friends that former co workers before. Especially last year, Right with Kyle Shanahan,.

"Pace is one of the answers. The question came from a Dallas Last night. He sent me and he said bears fans. You have to keep one and have in all caps. And we give you Nagy paste. Robiskie. Gotta bring one back. And Ah 47.7% going with Travis Key, and I think that's the loophole that he doesn't have to be your long term answer. He could fight for the job. Or it could be a placeholder. It could be a backup, but paces is losing this by a landslide. 47.7% to Travis Key 38% too, naggy. 14.4% saying that if they gotta pick one, it's the general manager, Ryan Pace. They got to pick one to boot. No think to bring back The question is right. You said Ryan faces the one Ryan Pace isn't the one is he? Ryan Pace is losing in a landslide, right? It's overwhelming that people want him gone. Most right. That's are saying they want Mitch is the guy that is most likely to come back viewing the poll results of this poll. Yes, exactly. Yeah, listen, you bring him back knowing that like this is this is a place holder. And like all that talk of $25 million and And franchise tags that was taken place like after the Jackson, Okay. I mean, like, that would be that that would be crazy to me. Yeah. Kevin in Lake Forest, you're on ESPN 1000. What's up Cab? Hey, guys, how we doing? Good. Thanks. So, so I wanted to get your opinion on something. It's uh, you know, talking about being in football hell with a date, So would you currently take the Las Vegas Raiders set up for the Chicago Bears set up? You know, you do have some relationship tied to them from all the draft picks you gave him for Mac so looking at their team and looking at what the Bears have If you couldn't do it, So you're saying like which team I would have Mork confidence in going forward. Let's say in 2000 and 21. Yeah. What's organization? Would you What you want to jump on board for the next couple of years, I would say right now, I would say the Raiders because at the moment they have a better quarterback situation, And I know Derek Carr is not everybody's favorite quarterback. But Would go with the Raiders. I go with the Raiders to waddle, but they continue to sort of surprise me every time I think they've arrived, they take another step back. Do you know what I mean? At the end of the year? It wasn't pretty. And look, Kevin, I know what you're getting at. I still make the Khalil Mack trade. 100 out of 100 times If I'm getting what the premier Russia and In the NFL in the prime of his career. And when Leonard Floyd wasn't panning out, I make that move. That's a whole nother thing. Like why is Leonard Floyd now all of a sudden sacking the quarterback? And why couldn't the Bears get that out of him? Interesting question. I don't know exactly your co maybe more equipped to answer that question than me. But Look, I I've said this to you a million times like with regard to the Khalil Mack deal. I understand why they did it. But when you did it You knew, or you had to know that Mitch was going to hit. Because you can say it was chips all in on, Mac. It was really chips on it all in with Mitch because you had no escape hatch. If Mitch wasn't the guy and we've seen that play out You gave up your first round picks. He didn't have the draft currency. You had very little cap flexibility because you had to pay Mac. So it was the perfect concept. You've got a young quarterback on a rookie deal that's not making a ton. And you've got an elite pass rusher. It works if the quarterback actually pans out. That to me is the key like you could say all you want that This was all in on that This was really the Mac deal was all in on Mitch. If you really connect the dots. Yeah, but So do you think if they don't make them act deal, they find a quarterback in another way. I think that it gives them the flexibility to go a different route. Remember? They went two years without first round pick. Yeah, and they didn't have the flexibility, capitalized to go out and do something. They could have done some things. I know that they went out and they gave Gave Robert Quinn 30 million guaranteed, but that's spread out over the course of three years. It's a guarantee, but to light things, right. Okay, maybe one more year like you couldn't go out there. And You know you really You were built in such a way that at that point, you couldn't go out there and spend 40 Million or 35 million on a quarterback because of how you built your right. Do we have a game today of dollar? Have a story for you. If you get a little bit, you know, a little loose and a little little crazy. Always. Yeah s so here's a little something from Wattles world to take your mind off of your eight and nine football team and the disappointment that they created yesterday and they're lost to the New Orleans Saints. "Three games against the Seattle Seahawks. He had 12.5. He's got 12.5 on the You're counting the playoff game seven of those more than half the team, so those against Bobby Massey But, yeah, that's 9.5 sacks against Before Game four games against two opponents. Leonard's been good. I don't know that the Bears fans got to stop with, like regretting it. I mean, he had three sacks last year hit through. He had three TF. L's last year, Everybody three, so I hear it and all I say is take a look at Aaron Donald Rush the passer. Go after the quarterback and then look at Leonard Floyd inequality, his sax what they look like. Just look at Look at what that and then I said, pressures. Look at all these pressures to intelligence President look like and tell me if the two players remotely even close to being the same. One truly being a dominant pass rusher and the other one benefiting from being on the team that he currently finally anybody is foolish enough to think that Floyd Cocoa, no carbs is good. Is Aaron Donald? No, It's not that they call me a pass rusher. Okay, The pastor's because they see the results. Listen six games I had 5.5 sacks. Saying six teams I had, 5.5 said. That didn't mean that if you played me 16 games, you can extrapolate the numbers and say what you could Borchgrave password because it worked that way, Kid. Some guys, you're limited. You know, he's benefiting with who he's playing with now and congratulations. Go out there. Leonard Floyd, do they keep him? They signed a one year $10 Million deal Do they keep? I bet they do. Uh, how much? Well, somebody else be willing to pay more money I can remember which bears I think it was either a bear's beat reporter or a national NFL guy, I think was a bear's be reporter who said The bigger loss for the Bears. It's not letter Floyd. It's You heard his name mentioned in the highlight package, and we talked about this guy during bears Rams Week earlier this season. Brandon Staley's The bigger loss for the Bears and One of the bee reporters. I forgive me. I can't member who Maybe it was Wiederer maybe was, Potsie said the bear should have never let Brandon Staley leave the building that that that's the bigger and like the Yeah. They should have known better and some around the team and even in the organization knew they were making a mistake when they left Brandon Staley leave the building. About his rise, his meteoric rise the last couple years. I mean, like that's the defensive coordinator for the Rams, now ever. He replaced Wade Phillips, and he was the Bears, linebackers, coach and That's the one that I think they regret regret more than anything else. Yeah, let's say hi to Johnny Vegas. You know, Johnny Vegas is always one twitch like I mean, every day he's watching which channels we love like twitch. That twitch dot TV. Were you watching yesterday? I know you were. Oh, my God. Hey, guys. Congratulations that you guys listen as one of because I work from home. I've been on Twitter last since March last year. You guys Krusty yesterday So couple of things I want to tell you Awesome job, Carm with what you did, and having everyone over, especially York. We love you, man. And so what? I told your longtime producer Jr on the phone. Woz. Look, if you guys promise because I called it a month ago that you're going to do the pushing thing off Europe and if you get more viewers on twitch Yesterday. Will pay doing your first the remote. Once this covert things over in Chicago. I'll pay for an actual tushie model. Not only will I pay, but I'll have my event company I work with in Chicago we can do is zoom thing Where you guys are the judges and you guys pick him And of course, we'll be very respectful, very PG. You guys picked the model out of Five or 10, or wherever he wants, of course, once again, respectful, But this is how we roll in Vegas. Thanks, but Johnny Vegas, you know, Johnny knows what a big fan of tune I am. Yes. Well, we might do the Carmen eat sushi off of your co. I think we will will listen. The football season's gonna end soon. We're gonna have to do something fun. We're gonna have to be entertaining. Come February. Carm. We will. Do you know how entertaining the good kid can pay David, Florida on ESPN. 1008 Dave. Right guys. A year ago. Just looking for your take on why you think How come ploy is doing so good when he really sucks here. Well, I listen. He's not a pass rusher. First of all, even though he's doing that with the L. A Rams. He doesn't have natural pass rush moves like when you take a look what Aaron Donald does in the middle swim move. He's got the post. He's got to rip. You know, he's got an arsenal moves you go act. He's got a speed rush off that speed rush. He's gotta swear I spin you know, or I'll just play off the chaos and the rush that's happening in front of them. Or he gets. Sometimes you get to the lovely give me sack, which we all love, where they booed out your action. He's athletic enough to chase down the guy that might be quicker. Might have it. That might be fast. So I always say, look, the quality of the pressures Good for him..

"Wilson rendered Boy Chase. Is down Russell Wilson and ran about 20 yards to get their loss of three and for ploy. That's the sixth sack of the year against Seattle. Looks like they're trying to take a shot. Freddie swaying down there and the Ramses played really well. You got let employ them coming off the edge, and what a year he has had. He has been outstanding. I thought it was really interested in talking with defensive coordinator Brandon's Daily, he said. Let employees is Is as good an edge rusher as there is in all of football, whether that's rushing the passer playing the run, dropping into coverage, and he's proven that a guy with a lot of ability He's had a great year for these random Floyd was right there in his face. If you don't have to deal with their and Donald, you better remember about 54. Yeah, he plays a great He's right there. In his face. Wilson's trying to get the ball out quick. The locket in the flat in later, Floyd just plays it beautifully on first down Wilson meeting big chunks of yardage is going to suffer another sack. That's 1/4 of the game for this Rams defense in the second for Floyd Leonard Floyd with two Aaron Donald with two sacks in the ballgame, letter, Floyd. He's just had his way with Russell Wilson all season long given to him and just the four man rush again. That's pretty much all they've done throughout this game. They haven't had to do anything more than that, and they've gotten home and had a lot of hits on Russell Wilson a number of sacks. Four sacks, two takeaways. The interception returned for the touchdown and Floyd now a sack Wilson seven times this year. Fucking Aikman Saturday afternoon on Fox is l A pulls the upset Now we'll go to Green Bay. They might do it without Aaron. Donald. Oh, Leonard Floyd, You just heard the statute book at its seven sacks, seven. In three games,.

"Metcalf to the left side away from Ramsey again throw the bubble of picked. It picked various Williams jumped in, and he's gonna house it a pick six defensive touchdown and the rounds extend their lead. Called courtesy of 17, ESPN Seattle You can get whipped and you could get walked and the Seahawks got walked yesterday. That defense led by Aaron Donald was unbelievable in what they did to Russell Wilson in the Seahawk skating. I don't know what to be more impressed by up front with Erin Donald and Leonard Floyd, who are just monsters and obviously had Russell Wilson on the run from the get go or the secondary for the Rams, which is arguably maybe the best secondary and the league. A lot of people wouldn't talk about the defense of performance and rightfully so because it was so dominant. They played so physical from start to finish, But I was impressed with Sean McVeigh's offensive game plan coming into it. Look, they had a quarterback issue. They had John Woolford starting the game because Jared Goff just had surgery on his thumb 12 days ago. He's got three pins and it's all taped up on the sidelines, so he's not going to go. You have to start the wool for he gets banged up when they got to go to golf, like the quarterback situation was wild yesterday and yet can't acres steps up. And they said here, we're gonna hand the ball off to you and you're gonna run it down the throat time and time again, And so they opened the game just Within extreme rush attack that I thought Shaun would they had those guys ready to go? They played physical on both sides of the ball. But obviously to your point, The defense stole the show, but, you know I don't know what this means for them moving forward. They're pretty banged up, obviously got banged up. You got Donald as well rib injury, you know, And then you've got golf he's working through. I thought he played really well, though, and kind of found his rhythm as the game went on disappointed we're talking about. Frank writes coaching decisions. I thought I thought Pete Carroll's coaching decision it was all about. Let Russ cook right yet every single first down. I feel like Seahawks decided to run the ball and put themselves in the bad situations against Ah, McVeigh did lead defense and that defense was nothing short of fantastic. Nothing short of fantastic was the game between Tampa Bay and washing yesterday and Tom Brady getting it done once again. Dropping.

"Picks the best players that every position in 2020 And there was a bear listed. Aaron Rodgers. Oh, Didn't get him Amukamara. No, we don't get him. Stefan Diggs, No Davante Adams, DeAndre Hopkins, Travis Kelsey. Those are terrific. Quality. Top of the line top shelf off offensive weapons for any football team, not our team, but they're not bears correct. All right, let's go to the defense of side of the football. It's got to be the guy who's like the second highest paid defensive player of all time. Khalil Mack, right, isn't it? No. Wait a minute. We're paying. How much for our two end edge rushers, and neither guy neither. Can't play off the other and make this list. Roque Juan Smith is the only bear listed. I want you to think about that. Just let that wash over you just for a second. Our captors gave you two guys that most teams would want on the surface. Not this year. Just so much on the surface, say, Hey, you can have a difference making player at all at linebacker like Robert Quinn. Or have someone at linebacker like Roll Kwan Smith. And you said, or I'm sorry, or like or Khalil Mack at outside line, But so, yeah, I'll love to have those guys on my football team. But then you see the lack of production. You go. Wait a minute. Now Wait a minute. You mean tell me those guys They're not getting to the quarterback. But yet, bro Quan Smith, The inside linebacker is a guy that's listed on this on this list here about that. Like again. As I told you. I've seen every step a record Smith when he said Georgia Big Georgia fan, I said, if where he's gonna go, he's gonna be a cornerstone player for 10 years. You may not make all the splash plays, but he's gonna be dependable and be right there. People ask about learned floor people were blowing up my phone like we learned Floyd. Hey, you've seen every step. What do you think that I go? Yeah, He was always around the pile at the reason for the pile. No, no, no. He's Julius Peppers that no, he's not. He wasn't with the Bears. Right now he's playing better. Remember listening to you at night. And New York. Georgia fan bears get Leonard Floyd I tune in the hoody and he's like, Yeah, I don't like this pic. So I walk in the next day, and York has a relative who played a Georgia And you're very good at analyzing defensive players. Nice it has snowed last night. He's a huge Georgia fan. He does not like the Leonard Floyd pick, he said. Smart man. He's got no rear end. He is going to struggle to get off blocks. It's a bad pick. Yeah. I'm like two guys are telling me this devastated. We traded up to get him and now he gets 10.5 sacks because he plays off of Aaron. Donald. Very well. Well as a talent evaluator yourself. Because that's what coaching is, as we're scouting is telling evaluation. You know what? I see something in him. I know I can get the most out of them by doing this or in this scheme is gonna work. You make the pics. You make one of the picks you want, but you always feel like you know what? He's not quite the Polish guy just as of yet, but I know I can get more out of him. That's what you always feel. That's why you make the pics. Right. And then you saw him with the Bears and just didn't work. Okay, so Danny And it was me Danny. Was it Ryan, the goofy I think it was the three of us and I walked away. John Fox is that Waddell's house, Danny and Gulf and Fox here drinking vodka. And Fox could put the vodka down and he says, Let me just refill my glass, and he's telling stories, and then I end up walking away. My son was with me and my wife and Danny. That's why his voice sounds like that. Yeah, and Danny back me up, Danny did Fox not say Leonard Floyd is Jason Taylor. CORRECT. He did. Yeah, he did. He also said that Mitch two bit. He also said Mitch for Biscuit is going to turn into one hell of a quarterback. So they're still out. Take that with a grain of salt, But he did say it that same thing because I was still standing there, he told you and Ryan. Yeah, but I would have drafted to Shawn Watson. He's better. He did say that he did say that. Absolutely damn right. Damn right. You would have I take the winner but over the project, but Leonard Floyd, he said Jason Taylor and I remember I think it might have been Danny Jason Taylor's in the Hall of Fame. Yep. No, and he's going to be that guy Gold, Jack. Hey, old, jagged green jacket. Yeah, I mean gold jacket. Yeah, So I think so. They all Miss Man they all miss, You always think you could get the most out of a certain player he's ever thinking. But let's put a bow on this because When Danny gave us this list here and I'm looking through and I'm looking for bears, he says. Only person hears What real Kwan Smith. That's a further indictment on pace. Just is. Oh, yes. Yes. You have what you thought was the genuine article by getting Robert Quinn in here. You say you know what we already have a key mix. We already have. Clearly, Mac, let's add Robert Quinn to the mix. Try putting your head on the head of the hat because your defense already was good. You know you weren't at your doctor. Susan. I got 34 hats. He walked around, But now two of those heads can't get you to the quarterback. Okay? What if Ryan said to you, Jonathan? 100 Floyd got tired to have sex in l A. Why couldn't our coaches get that out of him? Don't fire the coach is that Right? Does it validate his evaluation? Because Leonard Floyd has developed into a pretty damn good football player in L. A get a double digit sack season. Pretty damn impressive It is, But when you got Quinn isn't it seemed excessive, especially when you need to help on the offensive line. It all goes back in the same circle. It goes back to the same conversation of You already have picks and you have Mac. And you have guys that you like for the future Like a nickel's. You didn't know what Britt Urban was going to be. What? You had a good secondary. You thought, OK, you're good. Cap..

WWE - Roman Reigns announces his leukemia diagnosis

"McMahon. And it's rough definitely for Roman reigns. Apparently, he's been dealing with it for eleven years. So all the best Roman reigns. A guy that always he goes in does for young people. Wish all he does for that company stepping away from the company so all the best Roman reigns there. And I'm sure I'll be talking about that this week on Tuesday. Wrestling Tuesday, part of my podcast that I do for under the hood with childhood. Glad you're with this. Here's we talk bears. Three one two three three two ESPN three three two three seven seven six phone number as the bears lose to the New England Patriots thirty eight to thirty one. We asked on the poll question, we're asking the lines as well is your letter grade for the bears to the first six games of the season. Fifty percent of you say see forty three percent of you say Bs. So it's pretty close between the CNBC. It's not a it's not a D. It's really a B minus two a C. It's three and three your five hundred. I mean, I mean, you can make five hundred sound how you want. If it wasn't for this play. If it wasn't for this happiest the the Packers. If it wasn't for these plays against the Miami Dolphins. If it wasn't for those plays against the patriots yesterday. Bottom line is is that those losses. But there are wins. There as well. And as I mentioned in our first hour, I'm looking to be wrong about the bears. Seventy nine is not bad when you have a first year coach and you're trying to dig out from underneath. I'm just hoping for better for this bears team that maybe they're better than I think, but we have to see as the season progresses. See how they're going to work out. I think that what I've seen for the bears. The first six games is similar to. Maybe what you see is that there's some improvement there with the offense. But it's still a long way to go because there are so many different wrinkles with this offense. And you look at the defense the defense look played well early you see how the defense is playing when Khalil Mack one hundred percent. This is not just a Khalil Mack defense there other guys defensively to need to step up as well. It's not Leonard Floyd defense. Others have to be able to get to the quarterback. Maybe it happens against Sam darnold on Sunday. We'll see. But I just when I saw from the bears defense last couple of games reminded me of lovey at the end. And really a lot of the John FOX era in which there is a lot in between there. We're after the the kickoff is there and the the opposite team is settled Lynn there's a lot of lot of plays in the back of the linebackers in front of the secondary cash cash over and over again big plays missed tackles that can't happen. Can't happen. So I I'm I'm I don't care if you're a team that's not just for the playoffs or not. That's gotta get better. So we're talking to you about this on the spirits Monday. Three one two three three two ESPN three three two three seven seven six is our phone number some thoughts from Mitch Trubisky. There's a lot of under throws and as a mistakes made by Trubisky. He just thought he played all right in yesterday's performance. If the patriots. All right made some plays here. And there we're moving the ball offense. But then you just go back to those given the ball away the Turner assumptions and not that I thought they were bad decisions or anything or bad throws. Just fifty fifty balls and the credit goes from making plays. But we got to continue to take care of the football. That's on me. But we didn't have the balls offense. Probably way we battled which gotta make sure that we just come closer together and get better from the experience and and go back to work this week because it takes all three phases and all eleven guys at the same time on each and every single play. So thought we did some good things. I thought I played all right. And just gonna watch the film and see what we can do even better feel like I left some completions out there. Immediately. You come back. You look at the completion percentage that you just want to complete every throw you you go out there. But I thought I gave him my my team a chance to win. We are close on the last play. But like I said before it's a combination of plays throughout the game. Which you gotta make sure that we continue to get better as an offense. I thought we did some good things today. But we just gotta make sure that we continue to clean up clean up. Our mistakes be even better on third down in the red zone. Continue to move the football and take pressure of our defense and special teams and make sure we're getting better in those areas. Well, so keeping proving as a team three one two three three two ESPN's are full number. Your letter grade for the bears in the first six games of the year. Greg in stream would on ESPN without Greg. Hey, how you doing? Thanks for taking my call. Thanks for your call. So my letter rate is a sea and to start off by head the bears at the beginning of season at six and eight then they got Khalil Mack. I went to seven and nine then after the first couple of games, and like, oh, maybe there in eighteen and the reason at the C is there. They're making a lot of the same stakes over and over and a say into games, they're not learning from their mistakes like miss tackles last against Tampa, you clean that up. And then you see a whole bunch of the patriot. Same thing for Mitchell Trubisky miss. This passes overshooting under throwing and then passes in the end zone where he doesn't see defender. I mean, those are the reasons I think they're they're not learning from their previous mistakes. All right. So you had them at six eight and one apparently a tie was going to be in that mix as well. All right. My friend. I'm glad you checked in Greg. I appreciate your phone calls. Some good thoughts there. He leaves line. Open three one two three three two ESPN's our phone number Mike in Lakeview with Jonathan owners. We talked bears on ESPN one thousand Michael, hey, how's it going? I'm just I'm confused. How people are getting a B if we're three and three, but I don't know. Aside from that. I give the bears or be right now. We're we're we're barely getting by. You know, we're barely passed. And we're three and three. I went to the game on Sunday. I was there. And I saw things that the coach didn't see I saw an injured Khalil Mack out there. Just basically like a pond I saw we let Tom Brady do whatever he wanted in the back young out and he made a lot of passes. We gave them time. I saw sloppy special teams which I haven't seen in a long time. You can't excuse special teams ball on that one kick return has to feel was wide open. I don't know where the coaching was on that. Or what special teams play that was? So I've seen a lot of negatives and three and three. And I mean, that's the record three and three is five hundred percent. So I give us a D. We're barely. We're barely squeaking by right now. And we're almost to the halfway point. And we're at risk of repeating last year over again. So fifty percent back in school was failing record, right? Yes. It was. I just graduate. You I see if you get fifty speech. You might be at her about give him a d a d for NFL curb. But if I don't know what school they went to the fifty fifth is not good go flames bike. Go flames. I don't know, man. I they played good last year. When I was there flames, you say go there, you go buddy. That was that really was the hallmark of flames fan there. Go flames. We really didn't play. Well, that Larry we could have played better at Fort Wayne game, usually the the laments from the literally go flames, you know. The yearly could have won the horizon last year. He'd be another beer bartender is usually when hot is it literally put this on the poll Felix at ESPN one thousand do you see things that Matt Nagy doesn't see? Yes. Or no. Mike Mike from Lakeview said he was at the game. And he saw things that Matt Nagy did not see on film. Three one two three three two ESPN is our telephone number John and Juliet would Jonathan hood here on ESPN one thousand here on this beer down Monday. Hello, john. Hey, how you doing for taking my call? You know, I'm doing we're we're we're three and three staring into the jets game. You know what I'm doing? I know you don't want though Brady didn't walk in the league and was a Super Bowl champion to begin with Pfizer some stuff. So you know, what I I give them a c plausible because at least offense has some kind of program. That is almost reminiscing. What New England does not too many teams have them. I don't wanna be the giants right now. At least at least they have a little bit assaulter role in the right direction. So I mean, don't let's not get down on Brady didn't come in. And just went Super Bowls. It took a while before. He did I understand. But I think that when you on this city, you have to call it the way you see it. Meaning that if there's some good and some bad see, that's the thing. This is not a D effort. I understand I understand Mike from Lakeview. He's the fan. So of course, he he sees things with the glass half empty. But what I'm saying is is that there's some five hundred the way, I look at it is there's some good and some bad like this. You're right. It could be the giant. It could be a bad situation. It's not usually this first year teams when a coaching staff looks at his roster and says man, there's a lot guys can't play on this roster. We cleaned up. And we got to get better for your two year three or four. Here's something that I think that I see that. Matt Nagy doesn't see he didn't see that that Josh Bellamy. And Dion SIMS should not be on this roster.
