"Is home now and I love it here all right so now let's transition Vegas golden knights because when we go there we know you're the golden throat you're the one that gets the whole crowd involved and the show on the ice is absolutely phenomenal I mean just the whole thing so there had to be some things wanted it especially year one and so much pressure on you you know early on because you wanted to be I'm sure flawless especially off the heels of the one October tragedy and what the Vegas golden knights meant and still means to this city because of how the timing aspect with that first home game and all that stuff came to fruition in just the the way that the the victims were honored on the ice with their names and it was just a first class act thereby Mr Foley in the entire VGK group and you were a big part of that mark talk to me about somewhere along the line though in that first few months I guarantee there was something that if people only knew what marching oak went through to make sure that this VGK production went down right but there had to be something that you had to sweat out of probably a little bit on your own you know it's it's surprising whips with hockey and the crew was new to me when I joined the club three years ago you know the way hockey is structured for television is where the in arena experience sort of takes its shape and that and it's full of you know I always get a risk scheduled TV timeouts you know under ten under six are under fourteen so there's three TV time outs of period and that's usually when the in arena activation stuff that you know Katie Marie big deal myself get that service there had happened but truly it is a testament to Jonny Greco who who you know was our regional manager Arjun out Aaron Sequeira where you know they're calling the show so they're so good at their jobs because they're watching the action on the ice and sort of dictating what we're gonna do next based on where we are in the game so for example if we're waiting in the crowd into it we're obviously gonna do fun over the top sometimes can't be stopped but if it's a close game we're gonna we're gonna turn to a certain direction up or losing obviously we go into a different direction we really have great fans and that's not just be acts you know we truly have an incredible fan base and you mentioned you know one October and I think that has a lot to do with it because the golden knights didn't really bring the city together and we were able to heal as a community and rally around something that wasn't a tragedy we were able to rally around a brand new pro hockey team and a good one and go to forty one home games as a community as friends as family members high fiving everybody so to go back to what you're asking you know goofy things happened and you know we just sort of get thrown into it it kind of happened naturally that it happened every game where we never really know what's going to come up next because we're letting the V. I. dictate the action on the eight dictate where we're going to go as a team but truly that the the excitement and the energy is is with our our show callers and an error and it is just so much fun to work under because she's calling saying on the on the fly Hey let's instead of doing this segment which we had talked about in the meeting we're gonna do that segment of the ready you guys and so will run over to section three and grab that ninety year old grandmother thing Happy Birthday tour you know or because we're getting blown out there's no reason in doing the YMCA because nobody's gonna dance to do align it because we're doing you know we're down five one to mark why don't you go over there and welcome the military guided the game and give me a high five so you know we're just always on our toes I run up and down the stairs a lot and like I said it's just it's it's a trip to be a part of life sake in the sense that you know we're there with eighteen thousand people wanting to point at the end of the night and you know hopefully what we provide in terms of atmosphere and energy the guys can feel down on the ice from what we've been told they love it it's loud in there and it's just a testament to the people sit in the booth calling the game and that's that they aren't the kera right now just call in the a great great great crew you know he's running around doing our thing and it should give us the you know that she can have confidence enough to to really run and do our own thing which is which is also very nice there's a lot of times you can get any position then your micro managed and you're told what to do and how to do it and that's certainly not the case with the golden knights so we have a we have a special team there and great chemistry and you know I just wouldn't change it for the world right now that's one to get back the plan no doubt about it and of course when you have the golden pipes like you do and the great charisma and that personality you're going to find that you have more than one niche in this industry and boxing is something that you enjoy and I'm connected to you know a lot of people I've always migrated to you know people that knew the bot boxing in it and I I enjoyed I enjoy the USC the the mixed martial arts as well but birch sugar was one guy that I hung out with one night over at Caesars palace and and he had his cigars and he gave me a couple of them one I still have that still in the wrapper his own brow and a cigar and of course he passed away later on you know several years later but yes I mean which is just a just a really cool guy and and got to hang out with him but you know teddy atlas many times has been on the show is good friends with bill cracking burger and and bill and teddy go way back and be a Jersey guy teddy from Staten Island always had a good time attendees come out here and he's made it out to like a local joint like Steiner's puppies driven out there just to to be there on the show on that local show because he likes that he likes that type stuff like you like doing the the local places in and finding those little holes in the wall the little plugs here or there and that's what makes it so much fun to live in an area where you know something that you figure most people don't know and when you bring anybody there from out of town are gonna go oh my god first off you probably have to know somebody just to know that places where it is but second of all kind of makes you feel more like a local so I'm thinking well third industry that I know you've been involved in top rank boxing is giving you a shot and you know I grew up back in the day I mean I hate to do it myself but I you know at the end of the day I remember Frazier Ali when I was a little kid and I remember because I didn't like Cali like everybody else to jump on the bandwagon so I love Joe Frazier because he took out Ali in that first fight and then I got into Kenny Norton and anybody that was fighting Ali that gave them a fight and I really think Norton beat Ali twice one time they gave it to him because he broke his jaw on wide world of sports they had to give it to him because the whole world sought the other two nobody really I mean a few select got to see it those that paid for it so we don't know but we ended up seeing those fights back they were a lot of fun I love boxing when Vegas had its heyday I mean you're talking like Hagler Hearns Leonard Duran I was making it in and out of Vegas I love some of those fights and later on with the low wage sugar Shane and all that stuff I mean it just to me boxing just hit so many high points especially right here in Las Vegas but you've connected with top rank boxing and I text yes it would you know my man ray Flores because ray comes in comes on the show he's made it to the guys he's made it to over here to be easy broadcasting studio and just another class act in the industry what about it tell me some some things as far as top ranking what about there was there ever anything that you had to get through in the ring you know that you might have felt a little uncomfortable but you pulled it off yeah let me first say what a first class organization top rank boxing is again is a blessed to be a part of the golden knights and blessed to be part of top rank boxing you couldn't ask for to incredible organization to the host for and they actually found at a hockey game you know they were at a golden knights came top rank boxing here is based in in Las Vegas and you know obviously legendary Bob arum started the company in sixty six Brad Jacobs of Sault I report you every day and how the bus and it's just it's an incredible organization to be a part of and you know that I have there was no intervenor sort of activation in combat sports and what they saw at the golden knights games they kinda really came and why don't we do this some of our boxing fights when you know what it is everything is programmed to television so if somebody gets knocked down or knocked out first round well we've got some trying to sell before that second site walks to the ring the one thing you do in the arena to keep people you know excited about what's coming next week so it's been really really exciting I've learned the sport as much as I possibly can in the last you know ten year and a half I host all the way in for top rank on ESPN so far on we're either on ESPN plus over on its into wherever the fight and I do the weigh in on the Friday night on ESPN and then the fight takes place on Saturday night I've been in a book to be able to travel the country a lot with top rank we hold a lot of fights in New York for insulin Althea we have a flight scheduled for Quebec City this month that it got canceled but you know a first class organization and just like the golden knights have done they've made sure that they taking care of their employees during its hiatus and gone above and beyond and so again just you know what when I think of my wife and my family and you know that this this kid who's been you know blessed to be able to go to work and now work in sports and I have two organizations that go out of their way to to take care of us it's been it's been humbling you know you you count your blessings and you know not going back to what we're talking about that you know what helping others it is my responsibility I feel that you know Hey I did put in that position and I can make sure that my and my neighbors taken care of and so I think that's where a lot of it comes from the the as an actor and Broadway performer entertainer where careers go up and down by late and you're not working for a year and then you work for six months and you don't work for two years and then you work for tree consistently you never know what's gonna happen in the business and every time that I've been given the opportunity to work I've always make sure that when I'm working I'm also giving back in it I hope people listening to understand that Hey if you're in a spot to help just help because it truly is the right thing to do that's it I remember my great aunt when I was growing up when I was about seven or eight years old and you know I always look forward to her coming to New Jersey from Brooklyn and I'd be like gosh I can't wait for it dark she's always got like candy and she's always got an extra couple dollars that she's gonna give me so I could take my bike down to the cider mill and grab those big buddy bubble gums it everybody coveted there in the neighborhood and I'm like can't wait for it or to get there and then so one time you know she caught me not red handed but she caught me to wear she said you know I know you took that money out of my wallet is she goes you know I'm not gonna say anything but I just want you to know you don't have to send it I just want you to know that it's better to give than it is to receive and I used to say that as long as you're given I'm taking you know because I was that kid and you know with the sweet tooth but I but I was like oh god I love these people that say it's better to give than to receive we'll we'll just hear my hands around just keep giving me and then you know if you do get older mark you realize and I know you've got your better half for better three quarters that you'll tell me as far as Sharon you re you know your wife if you guys are very close with my wife Christine and I are very close as well.

Because I could've <Speech_Male> sworn that Leonard <Speech_Male> had <Speech_Male> didn't Leonard <Speech_Male> Fight Camacho <Speech_Male> at the Mirage <Silence> before <SpeakerChange> that <Music> <Speech_Telephony_Male> letter Ford Pamacho <Speech_Telephony_Male> in Atlantic City. <Speech_Telephony_Male> I was there <Speech_Male> okay and I'm thinking <Speech_Male> about something else and actually <Speech_Male> ause. "The sweet science and here he is adam abramowicz adam good evening tonight we'll i can you explain to me what a franchise champion is now that the canal has been elevated by the w._b._z. franchise champion and they've given his title jamaal charles i have no idea what that means well it's a way that can no i guess can keep paying sanctions to the w._b._z. without actually having to make a mandatory defense so they're basically going to get paid in perpetuity and he gets the fight i guess who he wants so it's a very strange predicament it has not been well received no of course from mexico as the w._d._c. there is also it's of suggestions of types of it doesn't look let's just put that and you know and i was saying in the last segment adam this is a great time for boxing right there was so much talent especially like from one hundred thirty five all the way through the heavyweight division and now we've got buzzing the heavyweight division we haven't had since tyson holyfield form and we turn era and unfortunately we're getting a lot of fights on free television which is a good thing but we're not getting the matchups we really want because these promoters these networks we'll do business with each other it's low right now and unfortunately you have three entities that have in america become a parent as different players you have the p._v._c. of course on fox and showtime you have to which has their own streaming platform in the new e._s._p._n. which show some fights on e._s._p._n. and then on the p._i._n. plus and right now everyone's kind of building inventory isn't the motivation to work together there is talk of the wilder fury rematch to occur if not by the end of this year early next year it has been slow it has been frustrating this pack yell thurman fight coming up keith thurman no welterweight champion and gets manny pacquiao another champion then that's an interesting match up before head the injuries and miss twenty two months he would have been certainly the clear favourite here but now with the actively in that looking pretty good lately man he's a good live dog in this fight it's actually the odds are really tight right now and it's a fantastic i think it's the right fight for both of them in their career thurman has had some very impressive wins in his career but he's been out of the game for a little while especially top competition many pack yup shoot against adrian groner that he can still be you know good decent opponent he has so much experience especially big fight experience is still the left hand it's a great matchup it really is now if manny wins you know they're talking about what's next for manny i don't think freddie roach and his people whatever put him in there with crawford aerospace i don't do that to him but i do think that this will bring floyd mayweather out of retirement manny wins because if pizza the caliber of a key thurman and have some buzz going i think they could sell the rematch i'm bringing and bring floyd back let me just say i've learned never ever ever say never about floyd mayweather ever you know he he marched to the beat of his own drum i wouldn't say that that that fight the rematch occurring is necessarily likely but i can never say it won't happen yeah if he does win there some real options for him i just don't see the earl spencer scenario happening i think earl spencer being enormous favors for pack out he'd be looking for big money so i will say never floyd i i can't say definitely see it but it's not out of the realm of possibility well they could make more money fighting each other than anybody else i think that's it the rematch adam abramowicz joining us here from saturday about saturday night bucks days with swedish radio dot com boy now andy ruiz upset the apple cart here with that with that win over anthony joshua and now we've got the release josu rematch so hopefully a wild are'mess assuming he gets past king kong ortiz against tyson fury and boy and you go move on up in the cruiserweight division some pretty good young talent moving up as well there's a lot of excitement with the big is now a lot of fun and you had for tenure period stranglehold with the quits goes fighters that weren't necessarily that exciting technically gifted yeah some really good matchups now and it's not just the three big names that we know in addition to ruiz make it four there are a number of big you know young talent that's coming up older fighters that are kind of coming into their own shoot me for a really exciting time if people can make the right fight so you know there are hundreds of millions of dollars out there for these fights and you say well why can't these fights get me there's so much money out there and the question is working together collaboration you know cow splitting the pie all of these scenarios that at times have hurt boxing you know still present themselves as vibe threats to making those huge fights that people want we'll cannella triples both with does own now so what what's what's stopping the third from happening now we don't know fully you know i think a lot of it is dictating who's the boss canot was the golden goose right when he signed with his own he signs us enormous contract and i think it's asserting independence you know he understands that he's driving the bus right now and i don't think he wants he likes being dictated to i don't think there's there's a sense that you know the powers that be really want him to have a circle off confide and he said listen on the biggest draw definitely in america certainly north america i'm going to determine who i'm going to fight so i think a lot of it is that you know he is wants to be like floyd mayweather his own master fully and i think that's what's going on so people are saying that the negotiation certainly are have gone a long way with gluskin but nobody's saying the close finish you know i this thing is not done in dusted so canals next opponent to some degree is certainly still up in the air well a couple of months ago aerospace is a huge welterweight as you know adamant one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world and he's got a middleweight frame he'll probably be fighting up there someday there was talk about him moving up to wake classes and challenging cannella any talk about that so on you know there are a lot of these fights today there was a rumor cannella going up the late heavyweight to fight kovolev and you know i won't again earl spencer has a lot of unfinished business at one forty seven within his own company the p._v._c. he's going to be fighting showing porter next most likely you still have you know the winner of thurman paco he's still is but crawford all of those except crawford are p._v._c. and makeable and so i think those flights will be happening cannella does own type of situation so there'd have to be that the working to get i don't see that i don't see that in the next let's say eighteen months two years i think of all spence is gonna move up and be forced but i think he has some big spicer not just big big money fights i think he's going to stay one forty seven until he can't make it anymore real hardcore boxing fan at the fight i wanna see more than any other to me the dream fight and this hearkens back to the days of leonard duran leonard hearns and the hagler days and the all those great fights from the eighties terence crawford earl spence to me is the best fight in boxing right now in the fans that most of us want to see butts l. haven despises bob arum they don't do business together very often what is it gonna take to get these two into a room and realize how much money they can both make into this fight done Well. you know the answer kid is not extremely popular it's that the fight is much bigger with these guys known more and terence crawford has done decent ratings on e._s._p._n. role spent has done pretty good ratings earl spencer just had his first pay per view earlier this year against making it could not great turns crawford has had to pay per views have not done particularly well so the fought from both sides to be honest is we are losing a lot of money by putting this fight on right now in terms of today wait another year it's probably worth oh i don't know another thirty fifty sixty million dollars so i'm not saying i love the thought process but i think that is the thought process is one of the best fights in boxing traps the best one or two i would love to see i really would love to say but i think that is thought process that if you put it on now perhaps it is a little bit of short money and that's three of the economics of the sport you don't other great flight would be vessel loma tanko against mikey garcia now no monkey moved up to welterweight and got shut out by earl spencer and nike didn't look good he's obviously too small his body didn't look good he looked a little flabby to look like the wait was too much for them down at one thirty fives best way check it would be a really really good fight could you see that happening it's possible i mean it's a it's a fantastic also because luma cheiko i know he had a recent stop is very tough fight against ours at one thirty five even draws in the very tough flight garcia looked wonderful at one thirty five so if mikey can get down to that weight i think it's a wonderful i really do it is possible that that maybe can get made at some point in it's not one thirty five maybe at one forty i think it's possible i do well how can little bit saco go away moved up a weight classes already at some point he's gonna move up too much and it's going to face somebody's gonna knock it out yeah and i think i think one forty has ultimate ceiling i can't see him going above that i think he's already starting to struggle not struggle like look badly but these people want thirty five hit hard and i think more weight classes the absolute ceiling and so i expect him to stay one thirty five unless there is some really significant money fight at one forty you know there's a lot of good young prospects coming up as well i forget his name the kid the kid from new york who's but knocking everybody out at lightweight twenty twenty one years old i forget his name i already my my brain is going to female lopez lopez yeah he reads program i know world looks like a great prospect that's a good fight right there those two redes- program is in this tournament right now one forty in the world boxes super series and he may have well he's supposed to have a wonderful fight against titlis from scotland in josh taylor we don't know where that's going to be but it's going to be at the end of the year if progress wins that fight he becomes now a really big money guy and then to lopez is enormous at one thirty five i don't know how much longer he's going to be staying vision so he has been knocking everybody he's been fighting i expect to see him at one forty pretty pretty soon so i do think that is a fight down the road that might be able to happen and not be a lot of fumble now last question here pima lopez looks like a great prospect knocking everybody out he's called tank tanko out to raw is too soon or you think he's ready for them you know with top talent you never know sometimes they're just so great they just go to the next level but you're talking about the top talent facing one of the best fighters in the world so i don't think there is a urge from top ranked to see that fight who promotes they promote both of those fighters i do think i love it i think it'd be really exciting and i don't think we see it next but you know in another if to the lopez can stick around at the wait for another twelve to fifteen months you know it's possible i know it can't count a huge puncher out who has a lot of athleticism he would definitely be underdog in that flight but he would definitely have a chance great stuff adam great "So in this one east just how quickly I know that the heavyweight champion of the world was that the heavyweight champion of the world, the world new everywhere who the heavyweight champion was, but it was just amazing how early in his career when he went somewhere how people just went nuts over him when he took a trip outside the country for the first time how he was. He was just a magnet. The it was amazing. And you know what I felt about the documentary, I said yesterday is that they focused a little bit more on just how disliked he was early in his career, not just because of the Muslim thing, the nation of Islam thing. But because he just he was so unique in the way that he ran his mouth, and the old school, you know, older generation didn't like it. My mother who I I mentioned. It was a big boxing fan hated him. Yeah. Because she thought he was a dancer. He didn't stand there and fight. He ran around the rink and the irony of that it's years later, I n traduced Ali to my mother, and she fell in love. Yeah. He he certainly had had that. Yeah. I mean he was it's funny. I think I've told you this about my father. My father was always sort of, you know, a progressive contrarian. My father was in caches clay Ali guy. When all of his friends were like runs his mouth, too much. My father was an AFL guy, not an NFL guy. My father the first basketball I got as a kid was a red white. So I grew up with my father, my father was a huge fight fan. And I think I've told you this before, but he took me to a lot of those closed circuit fights in the seventies that, you know, in some of them were Ali fights. And then I certainly remember being at the capital centre and watching on closed circuit Leonard Duran one and Leonard Hearns one from from Caesar's palace, and eighty one one other thing I just wanted to mention because I just sort of laughed when I saw this don't know if you saw this, but Steve, shoddy the ravens owner said that the organization's vision is for Lamar Jackson to run less, you know, and it's like the Cam Newton thing like Cam Newton to his credit when the organization started saying, he's taking too much of a pounding. We're going to run them less, and they tried to do that. And it wasn't working as much Cam said to hell with this. No one, no one. Wants to tackle me cams at different figure physically than Lamar Jackson is Lamar Jackson probably has much more of an RG three build. But I'll be interested to see. You know how much less Lamar Jackson actually runs. John Harbaugh said with Suzy kolber. This is like three weeks ago. And I think I mentioned here he said, we are committed to this, meaning this offense of philosophy of having your quarterback, be a primary run threat. He said, we're committed to it. The owner feels differently sort of what was going on here in twenty twelve and twenty thirteen I think Steve shoddy, and John Harbaugh though, a little bit more functional in the released chant and dance night. It's just a bit. Yeah. Now what's interesting is I saw Larmer on Lamar Jackson up close for a couple of live. Ravens games. I went to he's got a long way to go to being NFL passer. Oh, no doubt. Now what long way what was interesting about their playoff? Loss at home to the chargers when the got behind the actually threw him back into the game, which was the first time had done that when a lot of people me included thought they might turn to Flaco when it was still a one possession game..

"Some ADO dot com. All right, Madison Square Garden soon, I heavyweight championship. The real interesting fight Anthony, Joshua pop and across the pond for the first time in his career fighting in America and Terrell big baby Miller three hundred and fifteen pounds fighting on his home turf. The former kickboxer in New York at Madison Square Garden, how do you give a big baby any chance of winning this fight? Well, you've been around botching chino with that weight that you just described and he's a heavyweight he's got the what chance the punchers chance, and he can he can find a little bit. He's a good fighter. And he's got some skills it. We'll see how we, but this guy, you know, Josh what the real deal in that. We seen him tested. We've seen him hurt. He's won the Olympic gold. Gotta make him a strong favorite. But the interesting thing fighting a cost the pond, which by the way fighters say if you're listening, you should a a call. And I believe to be a world champion you should visit the world. And and I really liked that. I liked what Tyson theory, you know, is doing now he's fought force again in LA, and he's fighting here. And I know Dion say is willing to go anywhere. So it'll be interesting. But I gotta think Joshua will. We'll get the best of them and beating but Miller station, it it'll you'll have that funches chance, but Kraft and Amir Khan coming up, you know, Amir fast hands very good boxer lot of skills. Lot of talent. But China tin glance jaw James, I think he'll probably do pretty well early and then bottle hit him on the chin, and he's going to get him out of there. Yeah. This is one where because I and I like a mirror I've done. So many interviews. He's been one of the guest on my show. I didn't entering with him at in Kansas Doda. This is one of those where I'll just say this that I kinda worried about him. And and I I actually wish he I hope he retires even after this fight just for maybe reason, we'll get we'll get and just worried about him watching certain things. And no one fighters the way I do. And what I'm worried about in this fight. Is it be like canal? Oh, it might be some of what you said where you know, he'll win win around early. But my doesn't have the one punch power that Cannella does. So he will break them down and beat him up. And I, and I there are certain guys just because I know that I really like, and I'm honest, I worry about him. So I'm worried like I would never wanna see Manny never wanna see Manny by spits. No maddie's. Forty years old, and I loved the guy, and I want him to come hang out with being Kansas Doda. So I'm getting to that point. You know, where you really do concern yourself with the safety and wellbeing and Amir Khan, really good season fighter. But he's going to get beat up in a in a couple of weeks, in my opinion. And I am by the way, I hope on long that he that. He doesn't get beat up and that he does. Well, but I think he's really gotta get beat up by. Why is the best fighter on the planet? Right now. I want you to give me some predictions. I do this with all the boxing experts such as yourself James Smith fit that have on here. And I've I've long said I think if Lloyd came around back in the eighties as a welterweight he never would have been a world champion in that era of killers back then so let me let me get some predictions. So if Floyd Rebecca that irrigates all the top guys Floyd against Tommy Hearns. Are two rounds. Right. Knockout? I don't know about two hours because spray because Floyd is and I did in credit. He is a defensive master. But it's just the the size match up there. They the whole matchup the show. Yup. With not work. I go on me her. And so I think I think would probably stop and cigarette. Leonard floyd. Sugar Ray, Leonard would probably stop him. I mean, Ray Leonard's the best clothes are one of the best closures I've ever seen different size level different strength level all the defensive wizardry in the world would not be. That's the difference between way Leonard and anybody out there today is way could have been like Cornell or he could have been like Floyd never gotten hit. If he wanted to actually got fast hands, and he throws way better combination than anybody in the sport today, but he chose to get you out of there. I mean, he was a finisher extraordinaire. So I think I think what we can stop by shit away. Roberto Duran in Floyd. Man, you're gonna you're gonna have never get into another entering with this, right? Again. I just think that the canasta eighty of motto state that I one of the things I did one of the last ones I did 'cause I had a couple of neck procedures and haven't been able to do them in a while God willing I'll be back to what if you later on this year. But what's Roberto Duran? And the funny thing was when we were doing it twenty story is my I I should have I should have better standards going up in Miami. But he told me to move way. And I went the opposite way, and he bloodied. My knows where the shot which was going to get what he knows from Bertel Durant. But I just think he was a different. Yep. Beast all together. He was great defensively. Obviously. No. We know what he's all about. Now. People might say that Ray letters bus rated they meant any quit and Floyd to do that. Now style is different. You know, he sits back, and he does things in the poppy you get into pocket with reversal grand. You're going to be laying on your pocket. So I I again, I like I like to an all right. We've got about two minutes left. I got three more here. We'll for bonito's Floyd Mayweather. That'd be a really good fight. I mean, I I the size and punching power here we go again menu. I hope now I'm with you. I'm wendy. Would would lean towards Benitez? All right. Aaron prior. Now, that's a great one. Because size is better fifteen rounds. I I would give it to prior to the ten round fight. Maybe maybe full a twelve ounce. I'd still I give it to. I just leaned towards Aaron Pryor because of the tonight, the, adaptability. And you didn't know what the hell? What's gonna do? I also did an in ring with him as well. So Aaron Pryor wins. I'm with you. I got Floyd Owen five you thinking like, okay. Here's the last one James Smith with this is a guy. I think it's one of the greatest fighters I've ever seen. Underrated and before the mental issues and before the drugs great fighter Donald curry at his best against Floyd Mayweather. You know, he's gonna be with me in June. He's being inducted into the no good. National fame along with the hawk Julian Jackson, another hawk and so there's gonna be a great class. I would get probably lane towards curry because of his size own six you agree with. I said that all the time. I Floyd would have never been a world champion back in the eighties in the welterweight. All six of those guys would have beaten him great mind whenever like totally my relations. Thank you very much. Well, it's great talking to you. Again, we gotta do this again soon. It's been too long. Thanks, man. Enjoyed it. There. He goes Dame. Smitty Smith, the host of the hit in this corner. I'm telling you all the experts of the same Hearns Leonard Duran Benitez prior Donald curry, all of them whip Floyd Mayweather back Floyd is very very lucky that he's fighting in the era. He is today. And of course, that was as smitty Smith brought to you by progressive on the progressive insurance hotline sponsored by progressive.

"Wow. Seventy one to fifty right now, Oregon they're up thirteen then they're down to now. They're up twenty one. This has been a real gamma runs. But I'm telling you this Oregon team is hot. This'll be I think their ninth straight win. If I'm not mistaken coming from fifteen and twelve about midway through the season. They were toward the end of the season in the Pac twelve. And Dana Altman data elements. Great coach, and no doubt about it. And he made some lineup changes. They did some experimenting after ball ball got hurt. Then he decided to go big like six nine six eight six nine upfront and this kid Kenny Wooten. Wow. Is he good and he wasn't doing much at the beginning of the year, six nine freshman seven blocks tonight completely dominating on the defensive end of the floor kind of the same way. He played in their opening round win against Wisconsin. And now we got Oregon in Virginia coming up next. That ought to be interesting. I'd tell you what my ducts can win that game. They're playing great right now. Estate Smith and the day Smith show here. Advancement in the day Smith show here at espionage and radio, espionage radio dot com. Eight hundred seven seven seven two nine zero seven is a guest ready producer, Robert we got him. Okay. Let's get out to the guest hotline right now. Let's talk some boxing with one of our favorites in the great YouTube channel Montero on boxing that has taken the world by storm here. And now, we're recently moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Georgia, the great, Mike Montero. What's up, Mike? Hey, what's up there? Sunny, California, Californian, you made the move. I bet I bet you got a lot of house down there in Atlanta compared to what you can get in Los Angeles. It's probably a brilliant move on your part. So far with avenue. Yeah. The food's really good. I've picked up a few pounds. I gotta slow down on eating. Get back to the Jim. But yeah, we probably small Manson here for a fraction of the price that box cost in LA. Yes, you're doing the right thing. Absolutely. Well, Mike, you were there in in Dallas, Jerry world Watson, Mikey Garcia, go up against Errol, Spence into boy. It looked like kind of a mismatch. When that when it was first announced, and then a lot of people in boxing Cadillac, Mikey as we got closer to the fight. But just too small, and he couldn't manage to find a way inside couldn't get inside that Jabeen Errol, Spence, you know, with tremendous boxing, skills and reach and height and weight advantage. And it looked like a Mikey was way too small in there. Size absolutely matters that weight divisions exist in boxing for reason. But I gotta tell you, Dave. I was maybe twenty feet from the ring just based on the body language. I saw for Mikey Garcia from about the second or third round on. I think he knew he was being out class. I saw aero, Spence. Completely outbox Mikey Garcia in every aspect of boxing. Just the footwork the head movements distance the range angles and aerospace said in the post fight press conference that he heard all the people in the media taking Mikey Garcia and saying that you know, he was Mikey Garcia was experienced boxer and more skilled boxer and he took offense to that. He wants to prove a point by thoroughly out boxing Garcia. That's just what he did. It was a masterclass performance. I think star was born in Texas. And the sad thing is why can we talk about this a lot as much as we love the sport the best fights in boxing or the ones. Unfortunately, that don't get made. Now, we're getting Amir Khan against blood Crawford coming up here soon. We got Mikey Garcia against Harold Spencer. What sort of happened in Dallas a couple of Saturdays ago? We should have had Mikey Garcia against low Machiko, and we sort of had bud Crawford against aerospace. But because a rival promoters and TV networks, we don't get the fights that we want to see. You know, it's a problem in boxing that we talk about all the time. In one respect, we're getting more and more fights on different platforms. You know, ESPN is you're right now, we'll see fights on FOX regularly through premier boxing champions Showtime. The new streaming services on ESPN is streaming service now ESPN, plus so we're sitting FOX's all over the place. We're seeing night carts Thursday the net cards, there was just a card. Foxsports warring Sunday night. Just now it's just right before I called you. So there's boxing all over the place. But the guys that should be fighting each other or not fighting each other. You know, you talked about Mike Garcia aerospace that should have been Mike Garcia Romashenko. We'll take a fight coming up in L A next month next month in New York. Parents Crawford fighting calm, you know, we have to get aero, Spence. Terence Crawford in the ring together that is this generation's sugary, Leonard Thomas Hearns, you know, really. These guys just gotta come together. At some point you think that the dollar signs. We'll be so great that they'll they'll work together across promotional lines. What is gonna make it tough is the different network contracts because let's let's talk okay, aerospace. He's a PBC guy. That's FOX and Showtime. That's where PVC fighters fight Cairns Crawford. He's with top rigs there on ESPN. So we're supposed to fight which network. Do they do it on that's going to be a pay per view? But how does that work? So you have these networks doing multi million dollar contracts with these fighters these promotional platforms that makes it even more complicated. So it's complicated stuff. But I do think that some point we're going to get Spencer Crawford. And I'm telling you that this generation. Yep. Letter turns that's Leonard Duran. That's Leonard Hearns. That's a Leonard Hagler. That's that's Hagler Hearns. That's every I mean for this. That's the fight. I think that all really hardcore boxing fans want to see more than any other is aerospace and Terrence Crutcher now if the ever do matchup, Mike Montero, I think Spence is a little too big for me. I like Spence by decision the Matt fight. But that would be hotly contested. Because is a great fighter. Who who would you like in that? Really comes down to timing. If they thought right now, I think I would save her but Crawford by decision just because of his experience. Here's a smaller guy. He started as a lightweight. So he's come up at boxing hours third-division at welterweight suspensive naturally. A little bigger stronger is the younger guy. But right now Crawford just has too much skills. Too much experience. And he's just fought the better opposition overall, so favor him, however with box in politics. You know, how these things work it's probably gonna take two or three years before these guys slight by the time. That happens Spence will be that much better. And I think at that point you have to favor him heavily. So it all comes down to timing any so huge a well in two or three years when he'd be up in the middleweight division by that point. We'll definitely be at one hundred and fifty four pounds, which is junior middleweight. You're actually I interviewed him last year for peace. I did for boxing monthly magazine. I talked to him and his trainer Derek James. And they said that they think they make forty seven for a couple more years one hundred and forty seven pounds. They do they do anticipate moving to one fifty four. They're not sure about one sixty dollars. One hundred and sixty pounds, though, you've got to Nello Alvarez, you've got kinetico bumpkin you've got some names there. So if they could move to one sixty you know, after maybe fighting a bud Crawford and taking care of business. If he wins that fight if he could go to one sixty and fight kinetico Alvarez three or four years from now think of how huge that would be in that new stadium in Las Vegas. We'll be finished. So I'll just putting it out there. Dave. Abilities here baby food. Errol Spence a fight that shouldn't have happened that have Spence. And of course, now buds gonna fight. Amir Khan, you know, very fast handed guy. Good boxer a lot of skill. But he's got a glass jaw and terrace going to put him to sleep. I think that's kind of another waste of time. And a fight that we really don't want as boxing fans. On top of that. It's it's pay per view. So, you know, I I don't know what the problem is when these fighters start going to pay per view, their promoters, get involved there publicists, they're all these analysts people use financial analysts, and you start whacking up all the pay per view numbers because they want to take that to the negotiating table. So we just had arrow spends fight on pay per view. Right. Well, don't think for a second that Bob Arum team. But Crawford were looking at that and taking notes because now they're about to fight on pay per view, and they're to match their pay per view numbers and go back and forth. And this is all going to be part of the Google the messy of that fight eventually being made they're going to compare the pay per view numbers. But yeah, I agree with you Terence Crawford. He'll be competitive early on so box well early on. And he wrote fans from the UK from brand building perspective. I understand why top rank is doing this. They will bring fans from the UK over to New York. But you gotta think Terence Crawford at some some points going to connect with the jaw, and that's all she around. He's gonna knock him out. How about Danny Jacobson canal Alvarez, Danny Jacobs? It's a beautiful boxer. He's bigger than Cannella. He gave triple z hell with a lot of people think he won that fight at Madison Square Garden. How do you think he does against Canelo? Dave, I'm really really excited for that site. And it's zoned the streaming platform, which is ten dollars a month. You know, they just announced they're going to raise their price to twenty dollars a month. So hurry up fan did sign up now. So you can save money because I think it's ten dollars a month for the first year something like that. Anyway, we Condello at the full middleweight limit against the guy this tall this rangy. And with the defensive boxing ability that Daniel Jacobs has so I'm really curious to see how Nello handles that. On the flip side. We haven't seen Jacobs fight in Vegas under the brake lights like this. He had a big fight with gloves. But that was in New York. He's gonna be in Vegas. That's kinetico's territory. Houston new guy. They're big bright lights of Vegas. How does Jacobs handled that moment also to Nello is so improved his trainer? Eddie renault. So is such a great job with. Him. I really do think he has underrated defensive ability and head movement. I gotta say, you know, I'm curious to see how he handles a guy who's taller longer. We saw Hewlett to me very improved in that rematch with galactica, and he he fought a better style for glove. Can who's a swarm who comes out you Jacobs is a boxer? He's a mover canal is going to have to be the stalker and that fight and I wanna see what he could do against Jacobs ice favored. Canelo. But I think it's going to distance. I think it's going to be very competitive. Why can't these guys, you know, you talk about PBC with Errol, Spence and ESPN top rank with bud Crawford and the different Loma Tanko and Mikey. And all these why can't the people who run these networks and the promoters like grown men get in a room together. Set aside, the greed, set aside, the egos and make fights that boxing fans. Wanna see there's plenty of money for both of them to make. Why can't they why can't they get into a room and make this happen? Why can't congress balance the budget? The thing is making money in the fans are showing up. There's no real incentive to go for the huge fight across network lines unless it makes so much money that it's stupid not to do it. Like, we saw with may weather pack you out right now. You know, we talked about Spence Garcia there were forty seven thousand fans that AT and T stadium..

"Daughter went to New York over the weekend with Bob some cousins in my my wife, and they did the rock cats, and they did the. The horse and carriage in see all the Christmas decorations and all that sort of stuff in the eight way too much. As I told her last night, sometimes when it goes in it has to come out. And if it ain't gonna if it's gonna take too long going one way it's coming out another way, and it's coming up, and that's what happened. So that was unpleasant. No doubt about it. Quickly lightning. I wanna point out to Kelly financial poll questions that we have up today at the wise, one of them how much responsibility does the US bear for the death of that seven year old illegal immigrant girl who died in our custody. Some or non fifteen percent of the poll taking audience things, we bear some responsibility. So we'll see that's the story. Obviously we're going to keep an eye on. And we may end up talking about that again later in the week, depending on what does or doesn't come out result to that. That's one to just for giggles as his question two weeks ago. When all of you fought the chiefs we're going to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. So after what happened yesterday? Who's most likely going to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year? A the charges be the chief see the Steelers or d the patriots. Thirty five percent of you think the patriots and thirty five percent of you think the chiefs currently and only twenty five percent of you think the the chargers. There you go. Is your Kelly financial polls of the day? Six one seven two six six sixty eight sixty eight. I wanted to I want to keep it light here for a specific reason. Lightning is obsessed with the Royal family always getting my Royal family updates and not really listening to him. However, this did catch my ear, and then got my eye when she showed me the story Prince, Harry, Meghan Markle. Yeah. Whatever normally, right. But this year something interesting is happening with the Royal family. And it's gonna lead me to ask you a question, so pay attention. Every year the Queen invites everybody to Buckingham Palace, and they do their Christmas thing there, and whatever in one of the things that goes on there one of the Christmas traditions with the Royal family is the what is it happens on Boxing Day lightning? I guess is that the day after or whatever. It's the annual pheasant shoot. And all the men in the family, take to the woods and. Luckily, every year, there's some pheasants in the woods. And luckily, they all come back with pheasants and whatever. And however that goes and whether they're stocked and propped and all of that. That's what happens they have the annual pheasant shoot. Prince Harry has announced this year that he will not be participating in the pheasant shoot. If this is the second time while you didn't participated in last year, which is the first time he didn't he had been in it forever up until that by him and his brother are they sort of the standard bearers now for the pheasant shoot. But he didn't do last year and everybody thought, oh, well, that's cute. He's young and in love and his girlfriend is kind of an animal woman in animals and so to show his love, he's not doing it. But we'll wait till they get married. Everything will be fine. No now, they're married, and he said again, I'm not doing it. And he's not participating. So either Megan has put her foot down and said, I will not be party to you killing an animal or he just knows this isn't going to play. Well, I got a I got a not do this thing. In either case, I don't want to talk about hunting. I don't wanna talk about pheasant shoots. Yes. I love pheasant. And I think one of the best things I've ever in my life was a friend of mine brother bags and pheasants, and he smoked them that smoked pheasant was man to have that periodically. Nothing was better than that thing. Rows just phenomenal. I get digressed. Here's my question for you. Six seven two six six sixty eight sixty eight. When you met your significant other, and then you committed to her or him or neutral. I don't care we can play that game or X when you committed to your significant other. And you said this is the person I want to spend my life with and this is the person I want to build a life with and I found the one what was the first thing that you ultimately had to give up because of the one. In other words. Let's make you Prince, Harry, what was your pheasant shoot. What was the thing that you had done your whole life up until you met? You met the one and subsequent to that time not so much not so much in that thing, we don't do that thing as much anymore because we know either it's been explicitly told you're not doing that. Or it's it's not this isn't to be. We can't do this. We can camp because this is going to cause problems. And we're going to have those quiet times in the house that get real uncomfortable and real awkward, and I just can't do it. So what was the thing that? The one. And the reason I say that your spouse, the one you married the one year spending your life with you thought you were going to spend your life with what's the thing that you actually gave up as a result of deciding on forming that union. Six one seven two six hundred sixty eight sixty a when were you when you were Prince Harry early in your life? And you're starting out. What was the thing that she said, I or what was the thing that you said, yeah, you know, what I got a pass on this. And I'd love to hear from ladies on this. Have you given up something as a result? I'll just tell you right upfront all-star right off. I sure my wife is listening. She would not deny this in any way, shape or form. Prior to meeting my wife, there was there was nary a prizefight that I would not go watch. My brother was always doing them as always pay per view in always having big events at his house. And I went to every single one of them. I was a very big fight fan. I loved watching boxing so much. So that over the weekend. I just watched the thirty for thirty on Buster Douglas, for example, because I that Buster Douglas, Mike Tyson thing is etched in my memory. I remember where I was how it was what happened that night all of it. I was a huge boxing fan. Upon meeting. My wife. I couldn't tell you the last. I saw I can tell you this. It hasn't been since I was with my wife. She's never said anything specific to me about it. She has an you know, there's been no edict. It just isn't going to happen. She's not she doesn't like it. She's not into it. She thinks it's savage. And so if I want to partake in it, I will be doing it solo. And then also we're not gonna really share in it after like, there's no reason for me to be like, Honey, you're not gonna believe this. But. Boxer ex. Did this the boxer y when we all thought it was going to go a different way. And it was crazy. And there was the ebb and the flow, and he was on the ropes, and then there was the bell, and it saved them. But then, but she didn't want to hear any of it. She doesn't want to know and. She's not going to happen. And it hasn't happened. So for thirty years of my life. I was a huge boxing fan Marvin Hagler one of my great idols. That whole Hagler Hearns Leonard Duran era man that was one of the great Ariza in sports. Fantastic. And I we watched all those fights. I never missed a Hagler fight under any circumstances. I will still maintain to this day. He got jobbed in that Leonard fight. Everybody knows you did too. By the way, just for the record. But once I met her over, and I knew it pretty quick too. I did I think I don't even I can't remember exactly lending. But I'm pretty sure we went to a fight at my brother's. Really? Yeah. I think or I went, but I just realized like these days are ending quickly. I just knew it and air over and they're not coming back. Ultimate fighting is a bridge too far from me, it's just two savage. So I don't think I was ever going to be an ultimate fighting guy. Anyway, but at impossible been married to my wife, so I gave that up I gave up boxing. I still will read bowel read about it. I'll still watch it old clips if she's not around. Maybe I told you she wasn't around this weekend. So I watched the Buster Douglas thing she was not going to watch that with me. And she doesn't care. She doesn't want to hear about why that was so unbelievable. She's not interested. So I had a good run with we we enjoyed. I enjoy doing that dance that dances over now. "Why is he being the chance for so long? So I took a lot of notes in that count. Okay. Tyson fury. You guys you knock him down. We have video in the twelfth round. And it was a tight fight. A lot of people said you had lost the fight. You knock him down. He gets back up. And it's it's they raise your arm. Now, a lot of people felt he had outboxed you in a majority of the rounds. Did you feel that? I don't I don't feel that I feel like I would the more aggressor I feel like I through the more effective punt outlandish, the more effective punches. You know, being that I was such a small heavyweight applying so much force and empower you know, my power lasted over in the twelfth round. You know, I definitely was very anxious to get him outta there. You know? I didn't feel depression too. I really just got an arena just to see how many people just just turned up for you know, because it's it's been, you know, heavyweight division in America has been done. You know, I remember time when no one knew who was the heavyweight champion of the World War here in America in boxing is not like our top sport here. I'm known for being the minimum word. And I and I told people I was gonna come and give a knockout and not trying to do. I feel sick to my stomach now. Seriously. I I don't get nervous for final fours. I don't get nervous for World Series. I want to throw up. I'm like I could. Oh my God. How are you? Aren't you? A little nervous going into a fight on little to be honest. Not are you know? I I mean, I love this. I love to do you know, I can just only speak for myself. A a great fight. I never lied fighting though. I never look for trouble. But trouble picking on you. I wasn't always taught. Oh, okay. Say you walk out of the house. I don't think I'd pick on you on and I never liked fighting. I remember one time. I I was just at the park just swinging all by myself. And I had this this air the guy come and just pick with me. I dunno where you know, end up hurting them real bad. You know, and I remember going home crying token to God. Like, Lord, I don't wanna fight. I know what I wanna do in life. And this is not going to get me there because I know when you get in trouble. Then when you have would you own a path the devil comes in and try to tempt you and try to knock you off the game. "Holyfield from Alabama. The great Earnie shavers is from Alabama. The amazing Joe Lewis is from Alabama, and you and my takeaway as none of you guys played for the crimson tide. Now you had to play football at some point. Most definitely most definitely I play football when I was younger, and when I was in high school, I definitely had the desire to play for the Alabama Christmas. I mean when you were a child raised up right during the city, that's almost like our professional sports. So you see all the school's spirit, especially when they're playing playing over is a big rows like a Super Bowl. Yes. A mcgaw. Everybody gets so emotional or when they're playing plan open. You know, I'm so as a child, you definitely have the desires and the motivation to play for them, but you had a young daughter, and that she had spina bifida, and you needed you need to go make some money, and I needed a fast, you know. Although I have plans. But my plan consists of me still standing school, you know, and I needed money. Now, I didn't know nothing about spina bifida. What would it would take to take a towel with spina bifida been nineteen years old? That was very scary. That was one of the most scariest part of my life when my life. No, I'm bringing the life. So you made it you made a decision Deontay go box, and it your size. You weren't going to be a lightweight. You became a sparring partner of Ladimir Klitschko well before before before then I made the Olympics team in metal in the loop. No one has made the team in metal. Like, I did I did it in a year and a half. No one has done is. He started boxing when I started boxing. I wasn't. I wasn't even on the list when it came to USA boxing who would make the team Mr. my name wasn't there. They always said I came out of nowhere, and I really did. And then later on in my career. I went to go camp. A champ for a decade most Dabney, it was amazing experience. You know, just getting there. I would have done it for free just to get their spears just to be amongst the champ. I always say when when I was going to say this guy has been the chapter for so long. Now, I get to get an inside view of. Why is he been a champ for so long? So I took a lot of notes in that camp. Do you have a favorite boxer when you're a kid? Mom lollies. My oh, I loved Ali Frazier. I liked Dolly. I've got a lot of favorite ones. I like. But Mohammed Ali is is definitely my I to me Ali was an athlete who fought he wasn't a fighter. He was an athlete. Who guys underrated to me? Event Lennox Lewis Lennox. Yes. Most definitely by the way, I covered Tyson. And I would never say this to Mike space. I thought he was a little overrated. He didn't jab last six years. He didn't have any more. And everytime everytime. He he fought the bigger competition. He lost the way every time. He fought a tall long guy. Mitch blood green game trouble Trevor Berbick Lennox Lennox anytime, he fought a tall guy that could keep Mike at bay. I also think Mike got so big. And so rich, he just didn't work Buster Douglas gave in trouble. I think I think Mike was was custom Otto early in his career was a passionate driven at fighter then he got rich, and like all of us should give us a little money. We get a little Cray, and we go a little sideways, you get a little lazy as well. To. When's the last time somebody really popped you fury to Tyson Saturday? You know? So you, you know, but it wasn't effective. He only. I was asked does he have power? He doesn't have power power. But he has big manpower for his weight. You know, I came in two nine officially a defy. I was I was so surprised that my way even dropped more at the waves. So you fighting a two oh six basically, and he was at two fifty five to seventy to sixty. Wow, that's Alba's. Like, you know, so no more closer. They come into commissioners coming in like, yeah, we need to do a away official weigh in on you. So, you know, I think I'm thinking I'm more weight than were when he did. So I get on the scale to to not. So now, I'm thinking to nine in my head, which I don't I don't really dwell on weight. Because like I said I read the beat apart looked apart. Right. I know I know what I'm capable of doing. I know I have the power to survive in his division. Was he the biggest guy you ever fought though, six nine is either between. He is the Lord. Lord. What's it? Look like a whole is this the big one coming up here. Just seeing if I you know, it was just a is a great fire overall. Oh. You know, we sacrifice our life in there. And. That's what we do. You know, when I'm sat out to done Stevenson. You know, he's still in critical condition right now. And our prayers has definitely with him. And people don't understand the effect that it takes up on our body. Our families we risk our lives in ring in his nothing to play with you know, any any sat any given time. You know, something can happen. It can be the last time we step in that ring. Congratulations. We gotta go Deontay wilder.
