"W 5 40. Time for organs. AGRIBUSINESS BRIEF. Good morning a lot of AG biz news to talk about this morning. The first one they headlined Biden's agriculture picked to reassure farmers and disappoint activists. That was the headline on My Reuters story. As President elect Joe Biden plans to nominate I would Governor Tom Vilsack for US Agriculture secretary And Mr Vilsack has some experience in the secretary of Agriculture's job because he served in that job under Barack Obama. And he'll be the new pick for the president elect. The other note. I want to pass on to you that the US is challenging Canada's dairy, terror, afraid quotas The United States said yesterday it was exercising its rights under the U. S. Mexico Canada trade agreement. The challenge Canada's allocation of dairy terra freight quotas And then we have the story about the feedlot in I was it's find by the U. S. D a The announcement yesterday, a judge ruled in favor of the U. S. D, a apartment protection agency and find Tony and Joshua Brown of Armstrong, Iowa. $76,000 for violating the federal Clean Water Act, the brothers doing business as Riverview cattle. Discharge pollutants from their cattle feed lot on 41 days into the East Fork of the LeMoyne River. So a lot more that we'll talk about it noon time today, But that's our look at AG biz. I'm Orient Samuelsen have a great day. Our thanks is always story in 5 43 almost at the end of our broadcast yesterday. Get some good tips on how to take pictures from one of the best. Very butler is famous for his Chicago imagery, and his work is on the WGN radio calendar. For next year. And when we talked to bury the first thing we asked him was, how does he worked it just cruise around our great city looking for good shots, So people think I never sleep, so that's very possible. But no. You know, Bob, I I spent a lot of time planning these shots, so I get to a spots and have a pretty good idea what it's gonna look like and just pray that I was right and away. I go. What's the most common mistake we amateur photographers make these days? Buying a really good cameras Gonna get good pictures. It's about your eyes and yeah, it's all about composition. The equipment these days is so good that even in the beginner cameras, the focus the exposure and everything. It's real good. So the only reason why you need expensive cameras. If you're gonna be making big prints like I do for you know, 45 60 prints put through most part for most people, you could just get a basic camera and put yourself up on social media and you'll be very happy. Did you go kicking and screaming into the digital age? You one of those guys? Yeah, it took me a while. I I started off on film. But the upside for me is because I did it with film. I know how to get it right into, Cameron said. I was sitting in front of a computer trying to manipulate the photos, So I take my shots and then boom. They're up and then I'm onto the next thing is, it's not the worst of sitting in front of a computer. I took a couple of years of photography in college, and when I'm taking pictures of my wife, I always scan the four corners of the frame because that's what we were. Taught and then you know Mary and yells at me saying, Hey, don't look at the background It's about look at look at the center Focus here, but you're supposed to sort of check the background and everything else around your main subject. Don't you call it Border Patrol? That's good. That's a good one. Because because all those things you don't realize but are actually distractions. And so you want everything to you want your eyes to go to your subject. So if you have things that are bright branch sticking out in the side, it actually two tracks with Photo looking at the WGN radio calendar, a couple other pictures here that really caught my eye. You've got one of the great Wrigley Building. But what you did is you put your camera down really low, So in the foreground is a very beautiful, colorful flower bed. That's in the median of Michigan Avenue And so the building's air, actually smaller and in the background, and that is great composition. Thanks. That's actually I take that shot every year. I never get tired of the tulips on Michigan Avenue and so is a beautiful thing to see. And that was one of those years where the colors were just so vibrant and there's so many of them. So yeah, that's one of my favorites. Did use up the colors with your computer afterwards. No No, no, Like I said, I don't want to spend time. So my goal is to get it right in the camera from the beginning, So I used the old time filters, which is you actually put something in front of the lens. Typically, a polarizer filter is on in front of my lands. And that's about it. And that way I go. What a great backdrop. You have the wonderful architectural of our fantastic city. There's a shot that you have. Looking. Looks like you're looking east and it's on a bridge on. So you see the Chicago River below and forward and then on one side, the merchandise marked and Wacker drive buildings on the other side and way in the distance. You see Marina City and other buildings and then some blue sky and That's one of the things that's great here. Unlike New York with the Canyons, we have sky here in the middle of downtown, I guess it's thanks to the Chicago River, Isn't it? Very Yeah. And you're talking about the march so that Zane Patrick's day and so the Rivers green. So when you when you look at the calendar, it is reflective of the year, so I don't have some people find it a hard time to believe that winter is beautiful, but you'll see some of the winter shots in this one. And it will make you actually appreciate winter in Chicago. Harry Butler. Congratulations. By the way, you're getting the 2020 Visual Art Award from the Irish American Heritage Center, and I'm sure that means a lot to you, doesn't it? It's huge for someone who came from Ireland and my dad used to sing at the Irish American Heritage Center. It's a huge award for me. Thanks for mentioning that and you can get the WGN radio calendar you go to WGN calendar dot com. And it's only $20. Thanks to our friends, the local Chevy dealers and Chevy Dr Chicago Dad come. Well, we know that you photograph scenes all over the world and we're glad that you are right here in Chicago.

Trump and the GOP Campaign Against Reality

"The president and his allies decided on closing message for the final days of the campaign wine about social media pretend the pandemic is over for more on this. It's time for a closer look. There's a lot you can say about Donald Trump's inner circle and the leadership of the Modern Republican Party. But when you boil it down, it's basically just a collection of shy can't take Weirdos. Then people who collect ceramic pigs in sit by their windows writing down license plate numbers for no reason take for example House Minority Leader Kevin, McCarthy. You showed up to one of trump's rallies yesterday claimed republicans are going to take back the House McCarthy then belched up this I think English sentence about House Speaker Nancy, Pelosi a watch you watch Nancy Pelosi hand. And I promise you this. I won't thank her with it but I'll banged the into the socialism and yes to America. What No. I'll bang end to the socialism and yes to America, that sounds like a poorly translated leaflet dropped on Moscow during the Cold War why all these guys talk like rip off dollar store. Action. Figures made in. Eastern Europe. Your grandma will get you for Christmas. Oh Wow. It's a fuzz goodyear. Let me pull the string. The leaders of the hundred gop beer. Basically just a bunch of goofy old buds. I said it pods. Take a guy is still working at your hometown bowling alley thirty years after high school because he gets free disco fries blessed all the shoe sporadic and huff and that is a lot. For example Republicans held a hearing on big tech companies yesterday just to complain about supposed social media. Bias against conservatives which it's not thing. Now, there are progressives like Elizabeth Warren Tonight's guest, Bernie Sanders you really do want to break up big tech monopolies that have consolidated too much power but Republicans just WanNa. whine about mean tweets they don't like the best example of that came from Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson when he complained about an obviously satirical tweet this Dorsey. You talked about your house toward misinformation and then you will you will block misinformation if it's about against civic integrity election interference or voter suppression give you a tweet. There was put up on twitter says Senator Ron. Johnson is my neighbor in strangle our dog buttons right in front of my four year old son and three year old daughter the Keith refused to investigate. This is a complete line, but important to retreat and note that there are more my lies to come. How could that not be a violation voice oppression? Obviously, if people think I'm strangling my neighbors. They may not show the polls that would be worse oppression and another thing Mr Dorsey last night by doorbell rang late at night. So went to answer when I opened the door there was a flame in bag APU on the front step. So I tried to stamp out the fire but I got poo all over my shoes this clearly enact the voter suppression by the Neighborhood Teens because if I pooh-poohed on my shoes, I'll be too embarrassed to go vote. The bigger problem here is Ron Johnson thinks his constituents might actually believe that he strangled his neighbor's dog and Yeah. Okay and kind of see it. With said. Jack Dorsey looks like a dog serial killer. Like straight up a guy who together multiple dogs. in Ron Johnson's corn chowder brain joke tweet about a senators voter suppression. But invalidating mail in ballots and making people wait hours to vote isn't he's like a guy parks is BMW in a fire lane then loses when his targets tone Boris Suppression How am I supposed to get to the polling place now and then there was Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn who asked the CEO of Google if the company was still employing someone who criticized her is a blight Lemoyne one of your engineers still working with you. Senator familiar with his name is a name as an employee I'm not sure these employees. well, he has had very unconscious things to say about me and I was just wondering if you all still. Kept him working they are man Fox News is right. Canceled Culture is out of control. She sounds like she's asking to speak to the manager about a sales assistant at Costco is Madison still working here. She had very unkind things to say about me when I tried to sample the pizza rolls in the frozen I'll very hurtful things about how I'm not supposed to open the box. This is a fundamental reality of the modern GOP they're all donald trump. He complains about social media they complain about social media even though most of them don't have the tech savvy to handle the laundry room bulletin board coffee, table for sale what the hell does Obioma this is unfair.

"So after that, I couldn't stop thinking about him. So I was thinking, well, it wouldn't hurt to text to then I realized that after you haven't spoken to someone and over a year and you text them kind of, like, who are you? So I decided to call him. And when I spoke to him, he sounded really good over the phone really mature. And he told me that he left the city and he was in Pennsylvania, working at a would embed factory. He told me I gotta get outta the city. I'm tired of the city life, I need a break some going to be here for a while. And when he told me that I just thought, wow, I miss him a lot now. But I'm proud of the tempt to change his life, and I feel like I have something to do with that. And the failing was mutual because he also changed me, and I'm more of an. So instead of judging him as a gang member I understood him as a friend as someone who felt that he was born into a gang and I felt the need to change that. So now with my friends, there openly telling me, their stories, and I'm saying, okay, I understand. But here's the better side of things. And that's what he taught me. That's what our friendship was altered in me. The change in me. And. And when he comes back, I hope he comes back, I plan on treating him to a Dan. Mcdonald's for some chocolate chip cookies. "So LeMoyne is talking about Iceland's so not about France. But so we I mean there was a kind of a tape recorded six MP's just having a bit of a male banter. They would say something we are supposed to say anymore. But that's really what it was. They will just talking between ourselves about colleagues women colleagues in very of matchel and familiar familiar terms. Permanently. We can say them dressing having a list of their colleagues with whom they would like to have sex with. And they would say that the the daughter of the one of the main party is I won't say the word, but someone who's promiscuous let's say in more less flattering words. And also that one of the minister, we won't won't be a minister along because she's not as hot as she used to be anymore. So all that is not exactly looking good for MP's in a country that basically products to be very advanced in terms of the equality of women and women and men, and this video was done of the tour of the media, and many people would want the MP's to step down obe- obesity, set aside, some very very well known some of the former prime minister, for example, single more Davidson gulag soon sorry for the pronunciation, I'm sure it's awful. But that's that's very interesting that would do tape saying that and that they even though they didn't they will take. That some politicians or men are still feeling that they could do that. And and they also say in that they were making fun of the metoo movement. And then once there was some something in pay remember, which one a few weeks ago saying that you movement was so much of a change of direction that so men are reeling against it. And basically just going more even more full banter before than before that because they just feel that they are being you know, prevented to to speak. So basically, they lash out even more that may be if psychological terms that we can't really use. But maybe why they they doing that. But at the moment, basically, a big backlash against them in Iceland and call for them step down. That's yes. That that's all we have time full. Thank you very much for the coming on that was repeal now still to come on the program the day's business.

"I witness and the reason why is kids this individual once owned that car? Well, in a vehicle left clues as far as tire imprint in bumper imprints at the mahalick scene and blue gremlin with a white stripe was seen at the possible abduction site of Tim king. So at least two different cars, but maybe three or four different cars should have been discussed. And yet the focus on the car was put on the blue gremlin, but the blue gremlin. Which is weird here captain. It was still in the parking lot after Tim was reported missing, and the search was underway for the loss boy snaking. It almost seemed like it's it's not connected or if it was connected, it was left at the scene for some reason. It would have been more logical to research the lemoyne's as the suspect vehicle. There was a detailed description of the Pontiac Lamont from the Robinson site and was compared to the imprints at Christine's seen when this was done. The imprints came back to be that closer to that of a lemoyne's and not anything like a gremlin. So too much time was possibly wasted on the wrong car. Well, there's a lot of information about various vehicles that it's important. Understand. I say this all the time it's kinda resonates. The blue gremlin was really a red herring. The blue gremlin was something that was easy to put on posters that stuck in people's mind. Finds was really just kind of a distraction from the reality of multiple other vehicles. Possibly being involved more specifically, Pontiac lemons shows up in many of the police documents. And when I say the police documents, I wanna be clear with you that that I've read through an studied for years now, thousands of pages of internal documents from the Michigan state police, the FBI throughout all that information. Multiple multiple instances of other vehicles show up besides the blue gramling. So I like to put away all thought of the blue gremlin. However, there is one instance of not a blue gremlin, but blue Vega, which is the mirror of the blue gremlin is a same car, different brand that shows up in that that that car was driven by two specific suspects. In this case that become very important later on. So, but let me back up for just a second in dress, the Pontiac lemoyne's. There were other Pontiacs. There was a tempest, those vehicles show up more than the blue gremlin and you could save yourself. Why are we talking about the blue Graham? Why does everybody even think about the blue grandma, gremlin and the answer. It becomes very clear that when you're thinking about the blue gremlin, you're not thinking about all the other cars in that's intentional. Whereas we've seen with the vehicles, the same, be true with the evidence. We've always been told that the bodies were scrubbed, clean that there was no physical evidence, but your investigation would prove otherwise, one of the most misleading parts of the narrative of the Oakland County child killer cases that there was no evidence that from the very beginning in the seventies seventy six seventy seven seventy eight. So he nine into the early eighties, news articles all the time, all the time highlighted the fact that there was no sub..

"In north ups memoir is absolutely amazing document uh certainly the same is true with let it fall uh verbatim narratives but in american crime and the limited cers guerrilla that i worked on even though those were fictionalized accounts they were very much based on real narratives that we took the time to sit down with people to listen to listen to their stories and try to put them in a public space so for me that's what my storytelling is about now is really finding of space where we can um create an apparatus for delivering empathy through real stories john really let it fall is the documentary academy award winning sweemer thank you so much of the time and so the fao john we appreciate it and that's the luck with the duck thank you very much thanks for having me a score cessi story being out lemoyne college remind me of my roots and back when i was it school at arar some for broadcasting radio and television arts and they had us do we look at this this is sports are commercial bosh that suits me and that lemoyne dolphin and i i'm in the cafeteria i just ask lemoyne dolphin has a sushi he gives thumbs up and that's it hopefully bearing in the morning if announce where i can get on my social media page but are reminded me when the rapts shooting what we used to call efp at for any of those listing went to film score tv school electronc feel productions even now ripped past rise to set up your minds of efp habibur we've this lighting sat we have all the blood the distance for setting it up so reminded me of what score says he did back when he was in and why you so when i had to do ifp class for my student film i thought about doing because this was after gus van sant had done a remake of cycle shopper shot so when i was nineteen eighteen years old nineteen years old i was going to do a remake of score says student film ever telling my teacher billy noble so i'm still in touch with lower twitter is no seventy says.

"What happened well so the case goes to court and the judge in that case is trying to figure out what to do he's in a really bad political situation it's got to punish this guy he's looking at his books no law he's got no laws to charge this guide and then it occurs to him you don't there there are some other laws that are explicitly written down but that all people across the world agree are bad things all nations agree that this is bad and can be punished in the classic example of that is pirates pirates are out there on the open seas pillaging plundering of killing and they are not really subject anyone nations laws they're not doing this in a nation noone had specific jurisdiction over them and going all the way back to roman times pirates were designated as universal enemies the hostess who money generous that same lemoyne history professor at yale university the phrase in latin is hostess who money generous which means the enemy of of the human kind or race and it means that may be there are some things that are so heinous you don't have to pass a law to make them illegal and you don't have to be empowered to to stop or punish the perpetrator of such crimes because they're just so bad and piracy which the classic example so what the judge decides is that this french guy in philadelphia who insults the fancy french guy in philadelphia the way that we can solve this by saying that the insult her he's a little bit like a pirate.

"You saw a onesided affair in london last week the jacksonville jaguars dominated the ravens so laid out for me the saint defense has led twenty lemoynes per game second worse in the league do the dolphins have a shot at at putting up some big facing them yes they certainly do but london is such a wildcard of knowing how players are going to respond to the timezone change to the start change their playing field at wembley when they're playing at a game time that their body never ever does so it's it's a difficult thing to really gauge what's going to happen budgets breaking down the actual match up we your target there could be just a absolute boatload of points going up here the saints with drew brees got back on track last week willie snead returns that's a huge upgrade for their offense are off its of wine is also improved for this week due to health adrian peterson is a bit banged up which improves the offense mmhmm get marking on that ball gave you the best run it back on the field and jay cutler i know it was bad last week but cutler against the saints defence everyone's been while the camden but but the first couple of weeks feel when torching those de bees and jarvis landry in parker i mean i'm i'm expecting big days from from both of them are you shying away from playing either of those guys j i would shy away from playing either of those guys depending on my team in my matchup like you said london is always a crap shoot we see europe twer year where sometimes a team comes out and they score forty eight points and the other team comes on scores three i mean it you know if you look back the last like 10 london games.

"Now what i said that what would the story saying is that if you're trying to do new holidays to keep that charm from internet i mean the the old days won't be good neither for the child no for the family so might as well just embrace it and and and ink and encourage them to spend more time not kabila's i'm from qatabi leasing the child shouldn't be on the internet longtime should be in a running around on the street open on this report on on on the beach and new playing of your friends and all that so it it this discrimination of children that the story is about basically i liz assault of its saying that stop kabila's in your child he once if they want to go on online just as we have to basically take stock of that's that children want to be online more than in want to be on the street nowadays and that of we have to give them the tools should be on life online safe and to do useful feel useful things online and this is why ever ever protectionism a kate love let's move onto lemoult elise heading for difficult autumn frontpage yes the front pages would we know that's my call is plummeting in the polls is lost ten points in the last few weeks and it's almost one hundred data he's been elected it was quiet early in his son yet to be that unpopular even foresaw normal is not that unpopular other it within the first one hundred first days of his tenure but the difference and the story it doesn't say it's an directly but all done but it means that in a way because he's trying to do so many things and in france when you want to change something there's there's bound to be people are on the street people unhappy in any country but pot in france we are known for that so because his ju shrank to do so many things people are not happy with that and a story of lemoyne i want site oldie.
