"This is the drive with Leigh Matthews on NewsRadio 1000. Katie Okay and resetting the scene. Had a legitimate question about the marijuana legalization failure That happened earlier this week. And that was with the state Supreme Court that shot down the petition because it wasn't worded. Clearly. So the group that's trying to legalize marijuana in Oklahoma once again has to go back to the drawing board and start over. But the question was, how can that already be on the ballot? And then be pulled off the ballot when all absentee ballots are out already. Okay, well, it wasn't on this November ballot. It was going to be on the know it was going to be on the 2022 ballot. So just just so you understand the story. Initially, about the Supreme Court ruling was written poorly made it sound like I was gonna be on this ballot and it wasn't ever going to be on this battle is going to be on 2022. Now the group that wanted this on the ballot. Do they have time to turn it back around? Yeah, they do. Two years is a long time, and they could probably turn it around eight or nine months. So we talked about that Norman turning into the United Socialist Republic, and Brian is asking Lee Is there going to be a debate between Kendra Horn and Stephanie? Vice? Yes, there is. And Brian. I'm surprised that there is I'm surprised Kendra Horn would put herself through that. Kendra Horn has an advantage. Not a lot of people know her record. Not a lot of people know what she's all about. And putting yourself up on a stage against Stephanie Vice will expose more of that. You know, there's a word in politics if If nobody knows who your opponent is. Don't let them know who your opponent ISS. So Kendra Horn is giving Stephanie bison opportunity to showcase what she does know which is a lot And appeals directly to Oklahoma conservatives, of which most of the fifth district is He's also giving Stephanie Bison opportunity to shoot holes in her own record and program in Kendra Horns record in program It's just like this, Abby Broyles. Appealing on her television commercials to to get in half to debater. And often have to debate her. All. If Inhofe debates her, all he's going to do is give her publicity should already have. He's going to make her name known among people that didn't know who she wass. Half the people that are going into the voting booth and see and Hoff and then Abby Broyles and say what I even heard a story that Abby Broyles was going around trying to make it sound like she was Frank Broyles relative. Frank Broyles was the athletic director for a long time at the University of Arkansas and has a lot of connections, not only in Arkansas that in Oklahoma She was trying to make it sound like she was a relative that she isn't So if I were in off, knew I wouldn't debater. No need to debate her. You'll only end up looking bad because Aeneas points you score are going to make you look like an angry old man beaten up a cute chick. And then on the other side of the coin you're going to once again. Give her publicity that that she doesn't already have. So the debate by the way is going to be at the state. Answer your question. Brian. Before I went down the rabbit hole, there is going to be a debate between Stephanie Bys and Kendra Horn. Thursday. Next the eighth of October. It's going to be at seven o'clock. And it's going to be on O E. T. A I have reached out to O e t a to see if I could carry the audio right here on news radio 1000, Katie. Okay, For those of you who can't watch if you're working or driving and basically Oh, it told me to go pound sand. To which I say. Well, if I were government subsidized like U R O E ta, I guess I would go pound sand. Cause I'm beginning paid by the government to do it. Eight for a 1000 Leigh Matthews, Katie okay dot com Clarence writes on Social Media. Lee, You're talking about Glenn Beck and what he had to say this morning about what might happen. I don't see a problem with being informed of what might happen. We're all adults and could react about what we deem best. But we're at least hearing about it and being made aware of it. Glenn's always been a passionate person and I would at least listen to a person crying Wolf. If that's what it takes to be made aware of what's going on. We're not hearing about it anywhere else. Oh, and my apologies on the request for video chat. I hit the wrong button. Thank you, Clarence. So you're quite fine. That's that's absolutely fine yet, but I don't have time to do video chat while I'm on the air. I don't have a lot of time to do Video chat, period. So unless it's a one on one kind of thing, But I I hear what you're saying. And I don't I don't think Glennis crying Wolf. I think gland is doing what Glenn does. And I'm just I listened to it as well. Clarence and I'm just like, okay, really, really. The scenario you describe Glenn is like lightning striking twice. That's the odds of what's gonna have to happen for that to pan out the way you're describing it. Yes, There are a lot of people out there who want to do bad things, but it's all legal. And as long as it's legal, there's nothing we can do about it except.

"The drive with Leigh Matthews and you made it to Friday Phase one way to go. I am Lee Matthews Back in the studio a 40 1000 Leigh Matthews, Katie okay dot com. To join in the conversation a lot to chat about today. First of all, I wanted to grant equal time to each of the Republican runoff candidates who are going to be on the ballot on Tuesdays runoff election. Yes, That does mean if you haven't voted early you can this weekend. No. I think the deadline for absentee has already passed. So I don't think you can vote absentee. Yes, it does mean If you haven't done any of that on are not going to vote this weekend. You should go vote on Tuesday because the decider of this election We'll go on to take on Kendra Horn. Basically, we're deciding who's going to run on the Republican side and go up against Kendra Horn. So I've extended the invitation to both candidates. To kind of give a final words before we get into the weekend and before we get into the big election day, and that's going to be coming up. And about an hour here on NewsRadio 1000, Katie. Okay, if you sat through That convention that to me has become like a root canal. It just goes on and on and on, grinding and grinding and grinding and they're saying yourself. Oh, my God. When is it gonna sub? I want to hear from you. My first question, I guess is Why I'll give you my impressions. You give me yours. Eight for.

"Pound to 50 pure radio. Pure talk, you say simply Smarter Wireless. It's the drive with Leigh Matthews News Radio 1000. Katie. Okay, coming to you live from Oklahoma. Hyperbaric. We were talking to Paul. Paul. We've got Monica on the line with a question about hyperbaric. Hello, Monica. Hi. What's your question? Go ahead. Can you do anything for my act of leisure? On my grain. Well, Monica Well, let me tell you what we're doing. Are you familiar with what has been going on in the UK, for instance. I am not. However, I have good things about hyperbaric therapy in relation to multiple as like an alternative treatment. It is, and unfortunately, it's not reimbursed by insurance yet, but it's the reason I bring up the UK is they've got approximately 76. Piper Barry Clinics. Designated for M s clients. They actually built a special they built a special hyperbaric chamber. That as a very small footprint looks kind of like the fuse large of of a jet. And there's a company in the UK that's built this special hyperbaric chamber just for M s clients, and it's because they have such great success. We have not been able to connect with anybody in the M s world. At this point, I would love to have some conversation with you. I don't know if you're part of the there's a There's a group association here locally in Oklahoma City. Are you part of that group? I am not. Well, we would love to find somebody as an advocate and show them what you conduce. H got an M s. But, yes, it's they have great success with it in Europe. So Monica wanted to give us a call for a 30633 to talk to somebody here in Oklahoma Hopper Barracks for a 30633. They also have other therapies. Judy is here with us to talk about the new Ivy infusion therapy. Hi, Judy. Hi. How are you? Very good. Well, tell me, what is your What is the therapy that you provide here? What it is, is basically just putting the nutrients back in the body that especially when you get older, they go away a lot faster. So it's just that hydrating the body. You know, water is the best or most important element and a body and we, you know, we get dehydrated all the time. You can't Most people can't drink enough water or fluids a day to really stay at their optimal hydration level. Um, so it just gives the vitamins minerals Amino acids back to the body straight to the bloodstream that you know you take it. You can take pills for supplements and vitamins for supplements, but they've got to go through the stomach. And so very, very most of them are not absorbed in and we usually just go to the bathroom and they're gone expensive urine is this exactly, But this goes directly into the bloodstream. Ah, lot of most people confined, feel an immediate relief and it can just help with everybody's To fight any radicals that air trying to come into your body and just to make you feel healthier. Well, I am going to go ahead and have one of these therapies as we are on the air here. So what are you giving me today? I am giving you It's called our low dose Myers. Um and it is It's really kind of the baby step. It's really our first at my first step when When somebody comes in that if they haven't had any vitamin therapy, and everything I'm giving is naturally in your body anyway, So we're talking about a little magnesium calcium. Cem Bey complex. I'm gonna give you a push. That means a little separate thing right into the I V a vitamin B 12 and glue to science, which is going well, I don't know it's there. Not a lot of afterwards Talking side effect of this is to make you feel better. Correct. Correct? Yes. Thie athletic world. You know, they may come in sore muscles. Um, really, Dehydration is so huge and they can feel a lot better and it could make him where they know we've got one called BC A. It's a branch chain amino acids that work on the muscles and itjust helps helps everybody with their muscles. Well, I'm a runner. So I is this the kind of thing you would give a runner, Okay, because I want to go running again tomorrow, right? I just walked this morning because I have all those things you describe. They got the sore muscles on the sore joints. And because I'm getting older, and I can't push it as hard as I used to. So we'll report back here and start this thing while we get a little update on the news from Beth Myers on NewsRadio 1000 Katie Okay live at Oklahoma. Hyper barracks, Oklahoma hyperbaric dot com. Oklahoma County Commissioner Kevin Calvi says he won't give in to bullies. I'm Beth Myers in the news radio 1000 Katie. Okay, news center. Oklahoma County Commission Chairman Kevin Calvi wasted no time this morning. Calling for a vote to allocate $36 Million in cares act funds to the Oklahoma County jail Even before fellow commissioner carry bloomer was seated. "This is the drive with Leigh Matthews had a happy Tuesday afternoon for old 1000 Leigh Matthews ok dot com There is a debate about to get started between Stephanie Vice and Terry Neese. Yeah, I didn't hear much about it, either, because they are doing this the Tower Theater over on western and I don't think they wanted a lot of people in the room because of Corona virus spheres. And the other thing is no television affiliate that I know of is actually carrying it. Ah, there might be a stream that's being carried, but I'm going to try to keep my eye on it and keep you up to date with what Isthe said, because it's getting down to the wire. I mean, we've got a week to go before that election. That's the runoff election between those two. The winner will go on to meet Kendra Horn so again. The issue isn't so much who is going to be best to be the Congress person. The issue should be WHO, Khun B. Kendra Horn. Who's got the financing. Who's got the backing? Who's got the ear of of those? In Washington. That need to have that ear so that they can beat Kendra Horn and take back that seat. 84 1000 Lei Matthews, Katie okay dot com will get into all of that your calls to that same number and I'm up on social media as well. Eric's getting things started early and Morhaim. Hey, Lee, Gun's for everybody and Good. Glad to hear about that. I called to ask about. Ah, one of three nieces asked that I heard today that basically that she was supported by the okay. Second Amendment Foundation. I love her, Don the Baptist quite a few times. I'm not sure he's ever mentioned Terry niece and I'd like to get a read from that if John the Baptist is listening if he'd call in, But I would say about this debate. Is this a debate for sound for Ah sound bite? Usually a debate is to you know, to display or at least get out your public opinion? Well, it's certainly looking like it's like it's a debate for sound bites, but but this is what I'm willing to give Whoever organized this the benefit of the doubt because of the Corona virus. They don't want to encourage a bunch of people to go into a room and walk out of it with Corona virus. Well, okay. I don't know much about Terry needs is the truth was that she worked for the Clintons. She was nominated for Ah, big office by the Clintons. And I'm not sure I'm not sure which office that wass I'm not sure which office that was once upon a time. She had her eye on being in charge of the U. S meant but that fell through for whatever reason. So is she, a Democrat turned Republican or the Republican who is liberal enough that the Clintons felt Good enough to nominate her. Well, that's a good question. I'm of the belief that she is mohr to the right of how you describe it, because The people I see her ally Ng herself with are the never Trumpers. Exactly man and club for growth is suspiciously spending a lot of money on this run off, and I can't understand why Why do they care? 50 c three? That's that is notoriously aligned with Nevertrump. Exactly. Exactly. So why are they beating up on Stephanie Bice? Is it because they support Terry Niece? That's all I can figure. Because Terry Neese is going toe is going to lose to Kendra Horn there, and here's another tactic that's going out there. And then I'll let you sure, sure. And you're saying this, not me. All I know is what I see. Go ahead, right And here's another. So one of the ads that they're trying to do to fake everybody out to show how good Kendra Horn is. They've been running right? Air quotes Republicans who are voting for Kendra Horn because she votes on her own and not with Nancy. Well, she's her facts are that's a big lie that voted against Nancy, one time And she was allowed to do it. Yes, she had to go and say, Mother, May I? To Nancy Pelosi and then Nancy Pelosi gave her a $2000 check. So Amen. Let's do an AP P for John the Baptist. I think I think they did. I think they did endorse Terry Neese. And if they did, they've got their reasons for it. And Terry niece would not be a bad Congress person. I'm not saying that I'm worried she wouldn't be strong enough.

"It's the drive with Leigh Matthews we are now looking at the Dow down seven and a half percent it's the largest drop in stock market history far as points it is now eighteen eighty four looks like they just shut the market off a possible the numbers of just stopped time is frozen I know could could be that it could be that is it a seven point drop I thought it was a five five do we know I will you I thought you said was seven point drop Mercer was engaged eliminating this to a seven point I think it's seven percent think they stop treating for fifteen minutes I believe if it goes down to thirteen percent they stop for another fifteen minutes of it was down twenty percent in danger of closing for the day that's the and that's based on the S. and P. five hundred looking currently at the Dow was down seven point three percent seven three point three percent would be the if it's if it's finished here would be the thirteenth I guess drop in history when it comes to percentage however as far as points go it would be the biggest drop in history by about fifty percent I mean that the the biggest trust don't count I mean remember it what I have in thousands it's good there's a dramatic factor two thousand some psychological value I think yeah so that a point but the biggest drop ever you may remember this it's it's kind of like a really good remembrance of history you may remember this is from February twenty seventh two thousand twenty so I don't you can go back that far in your memory banks but that was one thousand one hundred and ninety points cross lawsuit it was coronavirus related yeah so I mean it's a part of this year right is the fact that the market is up so much that these drops of seven percent are a lot higher point value that being said you still there's a psychological I mean eighteen hundred points in it's been what markets were open and how many it was five it was it was under five minutes they closed it yeah so seven percent for level one level two level three at seven thirteen and twenty so declined seven percent they just stop the market for fifteen minutes let everybody catch their breath let's have phone calls happen Hey Hey don't panic everybody then they'd if it opens if it if it's down thirteen percent then they close it for another fifteen minutes if it goes down twenty they closed for the day this is this is a wild ride and the the good news here is is that if somebody announces a vaccine this pops right back up it is some of this now is just freaking out anybody who is listening on I gotta get my four oh one K. that's a freak out the numbers that have been coming and softening are two fold one there needed to be about a ten to fifteen percent correction in the market we been do that for a long time so maybe as high as twenty percent of the market that's a pretty high one but it could have been just corrected because it needed to correct add on top of it what is what's feared coming our way because of the consequences of isolation global travel canceling everything all of that stuff because of that you are you are looking at the Dow adding to that correction this now is panic and it's stupid I think this is the thing that I keep trying to talk people through when they ask me about this because this is of course something that now I don't know about you but I was being constantly every time you go out to any gathering with people you're asked constantly about who's going to win the election was delayed I'm going to be that switch to corona virus over the past week or two yeah and one of the things that people I think get freaked out about is not it's it's not the health effects necessarily that are the thing to be worried about you can really make a legit legitimately easy logical case that it the health scare is overblown yes with this the issue is the other side of it which is the panic that is tied to that and the panic and the steps that need to be taken by governments all around the world when it comes to breaking up supply chains and things like that create a legitimate and real financial problem which listed which I you know not only leads to major problems when it comes to your four oh one K. and you know your potential job status in orders coming into your business and all these things but also has a massive political effect as well you know I mean one of the strengths that the that the trump presidency is hanging on here with with its you know and I think being a slight favorite right now a trump for being reelected is based on he has a very high approval what reading when it comes to the economy now look at virus is not something that that is you can do anything about when you're president out of state you can go in there and he's not going to they're curing viruses and coming up with vaccines himself that being said the perception of people if there's any perception that anything has gone wrong that the president could have done better wants to me he will do everything they can to do that will and it will and it will right and then when that does happen he'll get the blame there and I mean this is why I was so nervous about Sanders beating yeah I did and I'm less nervous about that now I don't I don't think it's gonna happen but this is you know you don't want Bernie Sanders being the only other alternative when something like this is going on it's something that's completely out of control of the presidency yeah we got to get a pedestal here's here's the scary thing you're looking at the president of the United States being either a socialist or a guy who really is struggling to keep his own mental yes ylides I mean every two so easy I I don't see a string changing horses unless the unless the president is not on top of it which I believe they are Mike pence is on top of it remember when you watch the president the president's job is to keep calm it is to promote domestic tranquility especially in times of trouble that's what the fire side chats were about to promote domestic tranquility the worst thing the president can do is to send a message not only to you but to the rest of the world we're panicked we're freaking out there's a reason his job is to say nothing to worry about and we've got it taken care of Mike pence is the one you should be listening to on this the president's job right now is to just make sure that everybody feels normal and safe and no panic my next job is to tell you all of the facts and make sure the government is running its most efficient way but you have to understand mistakes are going to be made like crazy we've never been through this before we've never been through this before and anyone thinks that we're going to come out of this unscathed the reason why the market is panicking is not because of the corona virus it's because the world for the very first time said quarantine shut down cities over the weekend Italy shot half of its population and said don't get in your car and drive don't get on a train don't get on a plane not in a box not with the fox you're not moving half of the population tell me historians in the audience when's the last time you ever saw that happen because I can't recall it when you are closing borders not in one country but in multiple countries we know you know we can't have a closed border we shouldn't have border security look at what they're doing all over the world they're closing their borders when these things happen we are trying now the world is trying now to stop the spread of this and the reason why they're saying everyone stay home is not because we're all going to die but because we can't have the stress on the medical facilities stay home don't get sick well viruses coming a vaccine is also coming but in the mean time everyone who has the Sniffles everyone who has a fever if you are in danger of not being able to breathe if you have other complications if you are over sixty you have reason to be concerned if you have other complications and your anywhere in your seventies and eighties you have real concerns everyone else please don't clog the hospitals please don't freak out we don't want to spread this because we don't want to hurt to the elderly population but think of think of what's going to happen in our health communities you're going to work at a nursing home it's a job for you yeah you're a nurse in yeah you wanted to do this but it's still a job for you you're going to work are you going to work because you know those patients are gonna get it and if they get it they die are you going to work hopefully the answer is yes but we're going to lose some people just in nursing just because they don't want to get sick we're gonna lose people who are first responders because they don't want to get sick then we're gonna have to double up on those people that do remain and they are going to get sick and one of the reasons why they are going to get sick is because everybody bought the N. ninety five mask those were the first responders need them you don't don't believe this bull crap that they don't work of course they work what do you think they're saying we are the hospitals need them because the hospitals like it is a fashion statement they work you just don't need them if you stay home so all of this is designed to stop the stress on the medical community because we can't have some thirty percent of our doctors and our nurses sick or out of play because then the whole thing collapses and it's not because it's capitalist it would already be gone if it was socialist Hey Bernie Sanders had his way you would already be having all kinds of shortages I want to show you what you need to know about your own business and your own economic future and how you need to start preparing here in a few minutes if you mean if you're going if you're going to miss any of the show today go and get it on a podcast you can get it at iTunes or soundcloud wherever "This is the drive with Leigh Matthews. good afternoon to you good evening that is glad that you are joining me and drive at home with leigh matthews hand the drive on newsradio one thousand k._t. okay let's reset the scene of a couple of the things we've already hit on maybe you want to chime in on them eight four zero one thousand leigh matthews k._t. okay dot com we talked about the train delays that are going to be a thing of the past starting july one corporation commission says that the law that was passed cam be enforced and that fines or they'll be thousand dollar find any train who delays you longer than ten minutes just like traffic court the train operators will be able to appeal and go to those court hearings and appeal the citation i believe different police entities whether they be state police local police or sheriffs can write the citations and everybody's still talking about how are they going to enforce it well i don't think there'll be any problem from an angry motorist who sitting there at the corner of douglas and whatever where the railroad track crosses and they've been waiting ten minutes fifteen minutes for the train to do what it's going to do so we'll see i this is one of those things where i've always been a little if because i i give the railroads the benefit of the doubt because there have been railroads in the united states and oklahoma longer than there've been roads which is why they always get the right of way veve owned the property upon which their tracks are laid longer than anybody else's owned anything longer than there've been the municipalities here in oklahoma That said. it's not very good p._r. work for the railroad to go out of its way to block traffic is specially when we're talking about a town like miguel that's completely bisected by the railroad tracks and some of these trains are so long a stalled train can literally bisect to the town for fifteen twenty thirty minutes no emergency vehicles can pass no nothing now should the municipalities work to build underpasses i think so edmund has but okay we'll see this is one of those we'll see how it works out i'm doing the same thing with the streetcars i'll see how it works out i'm against the streetcars because they can't move i'm against the streetcars because i've never known a municipality our size where they have made money or at least paid for themselves lovely wife has been vocally against me in this whole thing i like cars are going to be great she works in midtown and wanted the idea of being able to hop on the street car in midtown and go downtown to get lunch She, she tried it the other day. Quickly figured out. She probably could've walked faster. Stay will go very fast. No, I know. Was it fun? Yeah. It was kind of fun. Okay. Well, if it was fun. Maybe there's the draw right there. But. now will tourists use them probably in your tourist you're in town you're staying at the hampton and you wanna get to the cock senator watch a basketball game and then you want to go i don't know to midtown to packard's and get something to eat and then go back to your hotel or you could do all that conceivably on the streetcar Not if you stay out too late 'cause they quit running after certain. So anyway. i remember in washington d._c. when lovely wife and i were in washington d._c. we elected to get around using their metro and it's a splendid metro get you anywhere you want to go in the city everybody complains about having to walk around d._c. in the heat if you want to see the washington monument the supreme core they have you can see all of that with the metro it'll get you there so you don't have to necessarily walk that whole thing right okay great then it came time for us to fly out we had a five a._m. flight out of reagan we went to catch the metro and it does run at five a._m. on saturdays and sundays it doesn't start till nine so cabbie Get us to the Reagan. as i can and the nickel plate now's in your city that mayor de blasio who is running for president has been doing that in new york city subway system he's been well shutting down real so boy stations from two to seven in the morning to save money to save money in the city that doesn't sleep has got exactly industry of people get off ally lord yes in the fact that you can get a pizza at four a._m. fresh exactly exactly delivered delivered the blasios not going to be president in the toilet is not going to be married for much longer he's gone what else they're doing in the subway defecating from what i heard yes they're doing that using it as a toilet anyway so we got into all that on newsradio one thousand k._t. okay we talked a little bit about the texas officer was shot with a crossbow and touched on ham radio operators which they had their big field day this past weekend and i and admire and like amateur radio operators i i was very close to becoming one myself and the reason i did not become one and have not sense is i guess i was fifteen when i took my tests to get my f._c._c. third class license something that doesn't exist anymore but once i got that and once they started doing this professionally I'll go home and talk on the radio anymore. I'm just been doing it all day. well they do a good job of keeping people informed when power because they do oh indeed they do and i like to think i do too right here doing this job so nothing against amateur radio i love him And it always looks like a lot of fun. But I just don't need another hobby. Definitely. i like to shoot guns and i've had several people reach out to me to come and shoot in their tournaments and that's just one thing i'm not gonna turn this into a job it is a hobby right now that i do when i like it on the on the terms that i like i don't wanna have to start oh gotta go train for that Trained for that. that shooting match this weekend oh sorry honey i know it's your birthday but i imagine i gotta shoots are no no no no no no so After a while you just got to pick your priorities and. eight thousand matthews k._t. okay dot com we talked about immigration which we're gonna get into again in just a minute the president was supposed to have a big round up this weekend it kinda petered out i think and this is my theory i think the president brought this up because it was trying to get pelosi's attention this is how the president gets your attention i want to buy some property in your town okay mr trump what he wanted but i wanna buy this block while no you can't have the whole block all okay i want the whole block if i don't if i can't get the whole block i'll buy the whole town oh adam no wait wait let's just talk about how about you buy this building okay i'll buy that building and yeah that's the building i wanted anyway and that's what he does he gets your attention And I think when he said, there's going to be millions rounded up this this weekend. and then on saturday he announced the towns that they were going to be rounded up in and you know what towns the word they were chicago new york by ami san francisco all these alleged sanctuary cities Believe you me. The San Francisco got Nancy, Pelosi's attention. and so she responded by saying oh we can't do this this is immoral about believable blah and so he said okay okay at least this is what i think will happen we're gonna call it off But you better get your little California, but back into the congress and make some reform laws now or I will. at least that's what i think happened i'll check with our correspondent michael bauer who's joining us in a little while on newsradio one thousand k._t. okay bill very prominent caller called and said you know the the for not deporting a illegal immigrant because you don't want to separate him from his family is like saying i'm not gonna lock up this criminal because that would separate him from his family and this is the exact same thing and using the same logic on abortion in some of these new york laws and virginia what does the other member there's other states that have passed laws that said yeah you can abort up until the time of birth That's like saying it's like saying we're going to start. Invoking retroactive abortion, okay? You have your kid to three years. You know this isn't a kid I wanted can. I kill him. I mean, that's really the same logic. Yeah, I know my kids three years old, but he's screams a lot and he keeps me up. I don't want this can I count them? well it's your body it's your life you should be able to do what you can't would you want with it right i mean that's the same the same reasoning and no i'm not serious i'm being hyperbolic word of the day hyperbolic of or relating to hyperbole making extended comparisons bordering on the absurd sometimes some countries and some companies are working to lessen their output of pollution plastic either by imposing a charge of a few cents per bag or by banning them altogether we're talking about grocery store plastic bags one grocery store in canada has found a unique way to try to get people to stop using the plastic bags and use reusable cloth bags east market in vancouver b._c. will offer the single use plastic bags for their customers but instead of boasting the store's name or the phrase have a nice day or where prices are born not raised they display embarrassing messages like the colon care co op or into the weird adult video emporium or dr toes war wholesale they hope that it'll shame people and discourage them from using the plastic bags out of a fear of humiliation Wow. and of course they won't offer the reuse they won't you the recyclable paper bags they won't use it which i like those better anyway they're easier to carry they hold more and when you turn the corner the groceries don't roll all over your backseat They at least stay contained in the bag. You know what I mean? eugene writes when we want gold we spare no expense to dig it up and process it what makes recycling any different it can be done yeah but that's the thing eugene you can't recycle those plastic bags i don't know why you just can't doesn't stop me from putting them in the recycling ben but you're not supposed to sean writes it is about the environment or their bottom line they're moving to no longer provide packaging for what they sell to have you buy the bags from them then store and maintain them at your expense walmart saved a reported twenty eight million a year just by changing their bags sean you're right about it Although they're trying to make it a about the environment. Randall is on NewsRadio one thousand Katie, okay? How you doing? Hey guns forever. that that video the marine had on your website at twenty two magnum.

"K Leigh Matthews. With Beth Myers in the newsroom Beth, I'm not sure I like this new car tag rule. Well, it takes backed really. So until I I I'm Beth Myers, and the NewsRadio one thousand Katie, okay news center, and it is a big change. It's about to happen in the way that the state of Oklahoma registers vehicles. Paula Ross at the state tax commission says, if you sell your vehicle you will keep the license plate. Your car, and your car goes up in the tax states on now you will take that tag with you. So as we kid going to be your longest lasting relationship. So basically, your car tag is registered to you. Instead of to your vehicle. "Leigh Matthews program. Brought to by Newcastle casino where real gamers come to play. Steve is in Chickasaw. Hi. Hey, I don't know if anybody this before, but. Carrie goes through. How is that going to affect reciprocity with other states that have to have like it will not affect other states with reciprocity because I'll give you an example, Arizona does not have a license, but they have reciprocity with Oklahoma. So Amazon can drive into Oklahoma and have their gun, and I'm from Arizona and their driver's license is enough proof that you have the reciprocity. Now, if the other state changes their law to well. Yeah, we've got reciprocity with Oklahoma. But only in so far as you conceal. That's a different case. Okay. Well, I was just wondering I hadn't heard anybody address that. And I was now the reciprocity is not affected unless that chick state changes its reciprocity. Now that said, let's say you go to New Mexico where they don't allow open carry. Well, you're not allowed to open carry either because of reciprocity. The only thing that changes, you won't have to show a license if you are caught or the police ask you, I don't have a license because I'm from Oklahoma. We don't have licenses. That's all. What would it be? I mean, would it be a good idea? Even if. The license anyway. Well, you have to wait the money. It would be a waste of money in my opinion. It'd be a waste of money Steve because you won't have to prove it your driver's license. Will prove that you are who you say, you are and that you're with Oklahoma. And that we have that law. Eight four thousand star one thousand bills in for joining us now from Washington DC on NewsRadio one thousand Katie. Okay. And President Trump mentioned a summit later this month in Vietnam is this a remarkable development or what it's uniquely but dot not totally surprising, Vietnam when you put it all together seems to be a logical choice. They have diplomatic relations with North Korea. It's a manageable distance four Kim Jong UN who is limited by the aircraft. He has available. He could even take his train down there. If he wanted to and number three, I think this is an opportunity that the United States saw to show Kim Jong on what a communist country can be when it opens up its economy and improves relations with the western world. They will point. A city like dang where this is likely to be held as as an example of of the the modern things that can can be north Korea North Korea would like to improve of course. And I think that the president has the opportunity to hold up Vietnam as an example of how an economy can be revived just by improving relations with the rest of the world. Even with a communist government. So, you know, a a little bit for this country, especially for the United States mixed emotions here, especially if it is held in denying since that is the place that many young Americans. I set foot in Vietnam when they were deployed during the war with a big US air base there. But it looks like it's gonna be interesting at the end of February this adds up to a very busy month for the president. I had a listener to our program called just yesterday Bill Semper claiming he is married to a Vietnamese national and and goes to that country with her to visit her family. Often. And he thinks that this is a pivotal point. Especially in symbolism because the president will be meeting with an enemy of the United States in a country. That was an enemy the United States both countries. One time at war with the United States, right? And the actions taken at this summit may end the war technically with the United States and that in the Asian world. This is huge this will resonate. Yeah. A good comparison because but he'll also point out was that in nineteen Eighty-six Vietnam launched a series of economic reforms that now make it one of the fastest growing economies in Asia. So I think there'll be pointing out to North Korea one of the keys to this whole thing is improving relations with the rest of the world as Vietnam has done with the United States. Vietnam also has gone out of their way to attract tourism, I. I understand. It's a tremendous place to visit my son has been there. And so I I think there are a lot of positives to come out of this. Now having said all that last year in Singapore. When the president met with Kim Jong Il, and that was all about optics that was all about the handshake. And and the smiles and the slapping on the back in the little stroll through the gardens and this time it's going to be on results. The results will be the emphasis here because in Singapore. It produced a very general set of statements and agreements at the two agreed on that really didn't lead to anything. Now. There's pressure on the president to come up with some results out of this summit that can lead to possible denuclearization. If the United States stands by its demand for complete verifiable, irreversible denuclearization there, actually, some people who believe that the United States could end up just having to live with a nuclear North Korea. So, but let's say the pressure is on in this summit. Well, here's the other thing. And I this is just me thinking bills emperor. Twenty four seven news is China keeping a close eye on this because I mean, basically, China is what China is because the United States has propped up its economy by allowing China to build a lot of our stuff, if we find cheap labor elsewhere like Vietnam or North Korea could this be competition with China, all of a sudden, Vietnam. Absolutely. Although their workforces limited there, we already do a lot of business with Vietnam. But yeah, that could be used as lever with China as well. And in the midst of current trade talks now will North Korea ever be a competitor to China. I don't see that happening because Kim Jong UN makes it a practice of whenever he meets with the United States. And I wouldn't doubt it if it happens this time as well. He first checks in with president Xi of China. Yeah. So China's still has a pretty big thumb over North Korea. I wouldn't see them becoming competitor trade wise with with China anytime in the near future and speaking of China, you know, the president may also check in with president gee before this summit with Kim Jon on because we've got another deadline coming up Li March. I is a deadline when tariffs on Chinese imports go up to twenty five percent without a trade deal. And the president has said he wants to meet personally with G in order to finalize that following up on some earlier talk. So I wouldn't be surprised if both Kim Jong UN and President Trump bump into each other in China on their way to Vietnam. Maybe so builds emperor. She says she has the appearance of an Indian family stories and her own belief. I thought that's all you needed these days. Maybe if she decided to be a he and identified as an Indian things would be a little more acceptable for her. Well, that's the problem. Don, that's the problem with identity politics. And that's the problem that is slowly starting to backfire on those who have used identity politics for the past. All I don't know. Eight years seems like eight years this has been maybe ten years, this has been building identity politics. You are a member of a group, and I am not your leader. If you're a member of that group, or you're not my kind of American if you're a member of that identity, politics man, and it's starting to backfire. "This is the drive with Leigh Matthews. And I'm coming to you live on north may right across from half price books near the sixty third intersection CBD, plus U S A. How are you? I'm Leigh Matthews, and you made it to a Friday. Congratulations. You want to join the conversation. We've got a lot to chat about today. Eight four zero one thousand star one thousand is my number Leigh Matthews at Katie. Okay, dot com and up on social media as well firearms. Friday, coming your way, we celebrated every Friday our second amendment rights and recently, a university in Michigan suggested that rather than allowing their students who are legally able to arm themselves to allow them to arm themselves on campus. They thought a better idea would be hockey pucks. Hockey pucks the students with throw hockey pucks at an intruder who was trying to shoot things up that they thought that was a viable plan. Well, we put that plan to the test today on firearms Friday, although we don't use hockey pucks because I couldn't get enough. I couldn't get a hold of enough hockey pucks to see how what kind of a weapon. So we just wanted and use baseballs. So the question is bullets or balls. What would you rather have on your side? If a bad guy came into your school place abortion, your office, the store where you're shopping and started shooting the place up God forbid, we don't want to get into that. But we don't want it to happen to us. But being prepared for it is another matter, and we will talk about it. Coming up on NewsRadio one thousand K T O K was a busy week for foreign policy. Michael Bauer is joining me the main thing I wanted to ask him. We didn't get a chance to talk about this yesterday or the day before. "K T. Okay with Leigh Matthews at CBD. Plus U S A Friday this happened. So we didn't hear a lot about it. And over the weekend. It's got a little bit of reaction. Michael Bauer is with us with twenty four seven news and the special counsel dropped memos on Michael cone and Paul Manafort. But Michael, what did the memo's say? And exactly what was the reaction. It a lot of let's say the speculation has been running rampant over the weekend. Those sentencing memo's against Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort. And if you take them in connection with the Cohen memo filed by southern district of New York, you have the case for people Democrats and legal scholars trying to indicate that this is just the special counsel beginning to show his cards. There are some very serious allegations. Meanwhile, President Trump who's saying the robbers Muller Robert Morris probe is all turning around very nicely. So the queer thing here, and this is what we have to remember is that we're looking at a sentencing memo, so these are not the final tally by. Any means of the Muller investigation be heavily redacted sentencing memo, so anything people are trying to look for within here. They're trying to look in language outside of the things that were redacted, and that's very difficult to do. But where we are seeing is we're seeing lawyers for instance, saying that when you take a look at Michael Cohen, pleading guilty to not only congress lying to congress, but also to campaign violations and just lying in general. That's the sort of a safe landing for President Trump as it has been by saying well Cohen lied. He can't be trusted. But if the president is were lawyers jumping knew about those lies or counseled Cohen liar. Anybody on the president's legal team counseled Cohen ally. That makes them as guilty as Cohen announced starts to bring this view of obstruction into clarity. And that seems to be kind of a stretch for all of this. Because we don't know what kind of lying you're talking about outside of that. Now, we do know that there are charges in regards to campaign violations, which typically has been taken care of with a fine of some kind usually never some sort of an. Indictment or any sort of legal arrest or anything along those lines? But that's where people start to look into things. We know Cohen in the reports here with said to have provided relevant and useful information. That is a key phrase concerning his contact with people in the White House because relevant and useful in prosecutorial terms means the Cohen provided credible information regarding criminal conduct by others in the administration. But what we don't know is who's we don't know if there are groups that we're talking about we don't know exactly what kind of information was given. And what the follow-up has been to that kind of information. We just know that he gave that information. So speculation running like crazy that same kind of information. According to the report was given to the core of the Muller investigation, which we know is the collusion between the campaign Trump and Russia, but again, what kind of information to whom and what's been the follow up, those kinds of facts, we won't know right now until there is either some form of indictment handed down or their Muller education has fully wrapped up. Yeah. I thought I saw yesterday and editor Oriel by a columnist who was. Saying that the president should be indited. But again, he didn't know what you know. He didn't know if the president were connected to this directly. He didn't know if the president told these people to lie. Yeah. I mean, there there might be in the stuff that you're reading between the reductions there might be might be able to put a connection to somebody in the Trump campaign and someone in the Russian government, but that's not that's not a proof of collusion on any level. That may be an introduction that maybe deals weren't done that maybe those conversations stopped. We don't know. What those are. It may be that. There was absolute collusion. But we still don't know any of that information right now, it seems a little premature to start making those calls, but as you know, anytime you can get people to kind of read between the lines purposefully here because you've got reductions that's what we start to get technically. It also means by the president saying that things are spinning his direction, and and and taking a turn. I don't know that that's necessarily the case again fats have been blacked out in regards to all of this stuff. So we're looking at people trying to take what isn't. Blacked out and trying to create some sort of a narrative around that reductions are under the guise of national security, correct? Yeah. And ongoing investigation is all apart. Still what we're considering at this point. There's been no rap to it. Officially the Mueller investigation that is ongoing in other news, John Kelly is going to stay until the end of the month. But first of all why is he out and Secondly who's going to replace him? Well, we know that there hasn't necessarily been given a reason in fact, President Trump's to the John Kelly is a great guy that you'll be leaving at the end of the month, which had maybe two different related comment. But that said, we know there's been a lot of strife between Kelly and President Trump more importantly, we know that for Kelly who stepped in just over a year ago to impose order in the west ring, according to all reports from sources inside the White House that's been an impossible task trying to manage President Trump, and we know Kelly, Mr. law and order marine, everything that you would consider to be sort of like let line things up and get things taken care of the way they're supposed to President Trump who loves chaos. Those just maybe two butting heads over a period of time. Also. Kelly a big fan of department of homeland security to Nielsen who worked underneath him and Kirstin has come under fire from President Trump for the southern border issues. And and with that John Kelly has been her only line of defense inside the White House. So I think it seems that there may be a tiring on both parties, President Trump and John Kelly there, but we know he's staying on until the end of the year. Now, initially President Trump wanted to get Nick Ayers who was the chief of staff or vice President Mike Pence to come into the replacement. But Nick, Nick Ayers is a younger guy young family, and he wants to be back home with his family. So he's going to be taking off to go back home. He's decided not to take the chief of staff gig. And you heard some names like, Nick, Mick Mulvaney, or Steve Mnuchin being up for grabs this morning. Some reports coming out saying that both of those guys are basically saying they're not interested. So the shuffling of names continues as to who may be replacement in line. President Trump said he'd have an answer in one to two days one to two days. Okay..

"Leigh Matthews still thinking. And I don't know if you saw or maybe you were working and didn't get a chance to see a lot of the memorial service today. But I thought it was a very spitting tribute to George Hw Bush, and the main thing that caught my eye was all of the president's past and present in one row. And behaving themselves and everybody behaving themselves. And I thought you know, I wish this if this funeral served for any good to bring all of these together for a day. That's it. Even the because I was watching NBC and even those nitwits had a hard time finding anything to criticize even Chuck Todd, Mr. I don't have anything. Nice to say about anybody. Couldn't was was speaking with admiration, which blew me away. And I just, you know, no, I don't think you have to admire whoever is the president of the United States. I think you have to respect them. But I also think going out there to find things wrong on purpose is just sniping. Anyway, dean writes on social media Leah. I'm sure you saw the video clip from the president the president's memorial service where w handed Michelle what looked to be candy. Do you know the story behind this? Yes, I do. There is a behind the scenes camaraderie between the Obamas and the bushes because they have to appear at a lot of events together as ex-presidents ex-presidents. I anyway. Inevitably because the way they usually seat them boy girl boy girl Obama's Michelle Obama is sitting right next to George W Bush, and they cut up whenever they're in the midst of something and this all started when George W had a little cough, Michelle handed him a cough drop. And so now, it's a thing when they're together at a public event one or the other will hand one or the other cough drop. And that's what he was doing. He went over there. And he gave me shell a cough drop. And then he greeted everybody else. So he wouldn't like wouldn't look like an ass money and thank them for coming. But that's the story behind that. Dean. So I'm glad you saw that. I thought he did a good job. Let's see what else that I wanna tell you. Now, I guess I pretty much said everything that I want. Oh, I I was watching last night, and I'll get into this a little bit later on with Michael Bauer who was there. And I probably ought to save more of this for when Michael Bauer because then we can compare notes. But there were a lot of things I had forgotten George H Bush had done, for instance. I knew I remember he did NAFTA. I forgot he signed into law the Americans with disabilities. I forgot about that. I forgot he cleaned house when he took over as president and fired a lot of the Reagan appointees, which caused a lot of umbrage in the Republican party. Because traditionally has several those will hang over short. If you go from. He's holding the office. And the reason he did it was he did not want to create the image that he was going did that it was going to be business as usual. The bailout of the savings and loan associations, which he did. But then they all had to go under. But a lot of the people who were in the savings and loans didn't lose all their money. He did that because he saw people losing their houses. And he would make decisions knowing they weren't going to be popular knowing I mean, he he made the decision to try to make a budget deal and raise taxes after saying read my lips no new taxes knowing that it was going to probably be the death of his presidency. But he did it anyway because he thought it was the right thing to do. And so I think he was the last of the president's that was that didn't believe in smashmouth politics, which is the case today. Everything has smashmouth politics. So yeah, your face on that front. They said that that breaking that pledge led directly to Newt Gingrich and four years later with the Republican takeover the congress because they ran on that they did. And that's. Supported the budget up until the time that they were going to sign it, and he was supposed to appear with the other Republicans. That's when he bolted and he did it on purpose. So even Newt Gingrich. Was into the smashmouth politics at that point and Bush was not anyway doesn't matter. It was long ago. And now, we're in the midst of smashmouth politics, but my bottom line is. But bottom line take away from today was I am sure glad they at least put the smashmouth politics away.

"News Radio one thousand Leigh Matthews you from the big chill platoon and many other great movies. Tom berringer's latest is called American dresser. And it's out on DVD and Blu Ray combo this week he plays. John More of Vietnamese vet who goes on a ride with his best friend, Tom joining us. Now, you've come full circle, Tom from enduring the horrors of Vietnam in platoon now playing a Vietnam vets. Yeah, that's a personal. I played a veteran a lot of different wars and military characters. But. Yeah. That's a veteran. American dresser follows John More. It's the character. You play a hard edge Vietnam vet who recently is widowed and is striking out on his American dresser motorcycle. Forgive me, Tom. I've never heard of American dresser being a type of motorcycle. Can you bring us up to date on that? It's a generic term for a large motorcycle that could be you know, streak glider. Okay. Or anything like that? And and it's not a trade name like Harley or Indiana racing that okay? Generic for. Highway bike that you can load up on the side. And the toolbox in the backhoe carry more stuff on it and get a more comfortable ride for one long stretches. They also referred to as a Bagger. Okay. See I need to get hip to the lingo. I'm not that hip when it comes to motorcycle. Do you ride? Yes. Streak light. My wife has one. We've been the Sturgis three times. Little be several times. And. Give joy it. Well in American dresser, you strike out with your best friend, and coincidentally that's played by another alarm of platoon, and he's got one of the best voices in Hollywood. I think Keith David. What do you learn what are your characters? Learn along the road. Well, I I it. My character dealing with alcohol problem that spike started would be at Phnom then went away then begins again when my wife dies. I. You know, I have to deal with all of that. And my oldest daughter who's married. She sends me offices. I'll watch you know, the younger one the teenager. And you just go deal with this. You're not doing us any good. And you're not doing yourself any good can't even work anymore. So it's like, yeah. Time to grow up. I guess. So I have to deal with it. He's got physical problems. I don't want him to go because I'm worried about his leg. He says. Well, you know, I this is my last right? So be it. That's my choice. I said, okay. Come on. Keep up. Yeah. And so it begins it lightens up a little bit. There becomes a road movie. Tom Barringer star the new movie American dresser on DVD and Blu Ray combo pack this week on NewsRadio one thousand Katie. Okay. Was a does it wasn't much of a stretch for you to get ready for this role after having already played a Vietnam soldier, and you're a writer in real life. Yeah. True now as far as the relationship of your character with his daughters. Do you draw on that with your own daughters? Oh, yeah..

"The workdays over. Now, let's hash out the day's events. This is the drive with Leigh Matthews. I guess I shouldn't respond to this Facebook post because it'll just get a co worker very very very mad at me. Basically, it's a Facebook post that says this is David Ian long last night. He shot and killed twelve Americans at a California bar. He's not Muslim he's not ISIS. He's not a refugee in a caravan. He's another homegrown domestic terrorists who took advantage of America's lax gun laws. America. We have a problem wall won't fix. And here's what I want. Here's what I want to say. We've gotta love our liberal friends. I know we have a liberal friends say you tell me if it's too harsh, Mike and the love canon, my producer. He's also my pressure valve. At times. Here's what I want to say. I want to say California does not allow concealed carry concealed. He carried California does not allow extended magazines. He had an extended magazine California does not allow those with mental illness to have guns. He had a gun California. Also does not allow security guards to have guns. There were security guards on the premises who didn't have guns. The too harsh. Sexual. Okay. I'm not gonna stop that. A little voice in my head is saying don't do this. Because this is somebody that I like and at somebody I might need a favor from around here. And if I get her get her mad at me, she's liable and never do anything for me again. Liberal friends. Don't be zip conservative friend. We start screaming at them. And then they don't tell you. What? Mike and the love cannon. She knows my position on this. So I guess I don't need to tell her again. This is the thing with social media. We have to be able to that's not going to solve any problems. If I do that it just gonna make me feel better. So the lesson of the day right there lesson of the day. Sometimes you need to gird. Your your your posts on Facebook. I've seen too many friendships fall apart because got mad at each other and social media since two thousand twelve yeah. And it's not worth it protein. She knows how I feel. She knows how I feel degraded disagree. And you talk about sports speaking of gun laws that's one of Kendra horns big platform items Leigh Matthews, NewsRadio one thousand Katie. Okay. You are listening to the drive so who is Kendra horn. I I didn't have to do much digging. But I will tell you you did not see a lot of this on her election materials. All you saw was that Steve Russell is bad. Now, I'm not I don't want to sound like a sore loser. Because I was a supporter of Steve Russell. I will say that Kendra Horne did a damn good job of bombarding. Precincts in Oklahoma. Where people aren't the most active voters and got them to vote and she did. So by bombarding them with applications for absentee votes here. Here's your absentee application, send this and you'll get an absentee ballot and you can fill it out. And there's nothing wrong with that. Congratulations kendra. You did a good job of canvassing that. But here's how she stands. She is an advocate for getting women a seat at the table. Her words in elected office. She will be a leader in fighting for equal pay for equal work and expanding paid family leave policies for all Oklahomans. We already have paid family leave for both male and female. I don't know what she's talking about in terms of getting a woman women a seat at the table and elected offices. The only reason we don't have more women elected in Oklahoma's because they don't run. Kendra believes in healthcare as a right, not a privilege Kendra. You're gonna have to show me where it's written in the constitution. Anyway, she goes on to say she believes that we should lower the price of prescription drugs. Big insurance companies shouldn't be able to impose lifetime caps and family should be able to keep their children covered under their insurance until they are twenty six. All right Kendra last time. I checked when you're eighteen you are no longer considered a child in the eyes of the law. You're a lawyer Kendra that's in the ACA. It's an ObamaCare. It is. I know it is. And this is the case I making if you'll let me continue gun safety bump stocks have no use in hunting and are a threat to law enforcement and civilians everywhere. It's a product we can and should take off the market to save lives. She says. All right. First of all. The second amendment says nothing about hunting. Bump stocks were created to help the handicap be able to shoot. And I wish I could show you my experience with a bump stock. You can't hit dude leak Kakuma when you're using one. Well, they had one that was used up Byron in Las Vegas. And why weren't there? More people in Las Vegas with guns to retaliate against this guy. Nothing to do with the bump stock. He would have done just as bad a damage single shooting. It. She goes on to say we should ensure the CDC conduct comprehensive scientific research on gun violence and strengthen background checks. The CDC the centers for disease control Kendra horn wants to consider if you own a gun to be a mental problem or a problem with disease. She wants to consider the debts like we saw in California. She wants that considered like the death of of of an illness. And then you know, what's going to happen? They're going to go under the guise of. Well, this is a public safety issue. We need to remove guns. That's what can horn stands for. Infrastructure. Kendra supports fixing our crumbling, roads and bridges and corporations who stash money overseas to avoid taxes should pay for it. How are those two connected? And roads and bridges mostly estate problem. Kendra not a federal problem. And by the way, you agree with the president. He wants infrastructure fixed as well. Rural economic development. She says, it's not just Oklahoma county, but similar counties as well. They have unique challenges and opportunities that are different from the suburban and urban parts of the district. She says she will create a task force to explore collaboration with local state and tribal Lieber leaders as well as other stakeholders to find new opportunities for rural investment. All right. Didn't say a whole lot. When you get into specifics come back to me, and I'll tell you when I think about it jobs in the economy, according to the Commerce Department there are over eighty five thousand open jobs in Oklahoma because we don't have skilled workforce to fill them. We need to make college affordable encourage Oklahomans to attend career tech and learn job skills. If we would be the best way to make college affordable is to lower the tuition, the best way to make college affordable is to stop raising the tuition knowing that the federal government will bail out all the tuition hikes by loaning more money to. Students. She says she wants to lower the interest rate on student loans. It's not the interest rate. That's the problem can draw. It's the problem. The problem is is that people are borrowing two and three hundred thousand dollars worth of money to get a degree in underwater basket weaving and surprise surprise get out of school. Oh, you included finding there's no job market for it. It has nothing. Oh, and by the way, last I checked student loan interest rates don't kick in until you graduate and start to pay them off. So it's not a case of the interest rates are too high. It's a case of the government is rolling out these student loans like they're printed on on toilet paper. Because. Universities continue to raise tuition knowing that the government will do it. It is a scam. It is a pyramid scam. And what's worse is it's perfectly legal. Tax reform government should live within its means. But it also needs to pay court for core services like public safety education and national defense. Then why did your party in Oklahoma, insist on building a stupid Indian interpretive center out on the river bottom, and we don't need it. That was a democrat project, by the way. She also goes on to say the most recent tax scam was written to protect millionaires and corporations, then why is our economy improving? It also directly threatened social security and Medicare which so many Oklahoma families rely on I don't remember anybody being denied their social security and Medicare because taxes were too low. Kendra believes we should incentivize good corporate behavior, if they create jobs, raise wages, offer, good benefits and are responsible community citizens. Then let's reward that behavior. You know, who does all of that our oil companies Kendra? Every single one of them. Look at our bolt district. That's all the company money given back to the community. Doesn't say anything about what she thinks about oil and gas. So that is who are congressperson is. That is who are congressperson is that is why I'm going to monitor and you know, what she's got four other Republicans on her in her caucus in her in the state of Oklahoma. I'm that's why I'm going to watch very carefully to see how she votes on certain issues because if she compromises at times and votes with the caucus, then she might convince me, okay, she she is looking out for the interests of Oklahoma. If I see her voting for her party and voting the party like is her whole, this whole platform is democrat party line. Right. Smack in the black stock and two smoking barrels apple pie orders. My grandmother used to say it is in apple pie order with what the Democrat National Committee wants for the United States. And if I see her voting for that, I'm gonna call her out on it. I'm gonna make sure you know about. It. And we'll see in two years. Eight four hundred thousand star one thousand on NewsRadio one thousand Katie. Okay. By the way, all you gotta do is Google Kendra horn, and you will see this that is her platform. Again. You didn't see a lot of it. Because I don't think she wanted anybody to argue that and I don't know that any of these questions came up and the debate between this is what Steve's should have been hitting Iran. Remember, the caller yesterday said that. Yeah. Oh, he kept saying was she's like Nancy Pelosi. And her response was I'm Kendra not Nancy Pelosi. Should've said she wants gun control. She wants the fact that you own a gun to be registered with the CDC. She wants all of these false statistics. We see about gun violence. She wants that considered a disease. Just like the rest of the federal democrat. But I'm gonna say the democrat party because you know, what I know a lot of people who lean democrat, my father-in-law was John Kennedy democrat, and he was still a very nice guy. And I'm sure Kendra is a very nice person. So I'm not convinced she's gonna toe the party line from the national standpoint. But if she does. I'm gonna make sure you know about it. And this platform, does it sure does seem that way. The only thing I saw her in her add score. After congressman Russell was on Medicare. That one ad with a lot of the elderly people. Yeah. That was the only at I saw where she talked about medishare. What was she attacking on Medicare? Steve Russell due to Medicare. I don't think he did anything hurting Medicare raising putting tax on Medicare cutting Medicare funding. No, he didn't do any of that. But that was her was her lion. The worst thing that's happened is Mitch McConnell has pointed out that maybe maybe we should give some of that money back to the people who are paying for it. Anyway, like me where I can put it in an account where it might yield a little bit more than it's doing now, which is nothing. Tom writes, Li I think maybe the one, and I saw her Russell's campaign all election cycle was just one ad Christie writes, I agree either. Russell didn't want it. Or he thought he had it in the bag Lou rights. Russell didn't want the job anymore. I'm convinced Paul writes, WT, F commonsense gun safety laws ban on high capacity magazines ban on gun shows ban on fifteen's is this minute congress congressperson. She's probably also four abortion higher taxes and all the stuff I'm against. Yes. She is Paul. She is. Okay. I'm gonna get to some more of this and your calls at eight four thousand star one thousand on NewsRadio one thousand Katie. Okay. It's Leigh Matthews drive.

So I'm gonna give you the time line coming up, and what we can expect not only through tonight but tomorrow and even into the weekend. And you can tell me what you think at eight four thousand start one thousand great article in the Wall Street Journal, I wanted to share with you every now, and then you hear talk about the ultimate negative. It seems like the left goes for the negative whenever you're in a conversation with someone on the left. They go to the alternate negative. And other words, we have to do XYZ because people are going to die. Otherwise, it's always people are going to die. We have to pass immigration reform. People are going to die. We have to denuclearize or people are going to die. We have to pay the teachers more or people are going to die. It's always something. And there is a premise that one other blogger and columnist has made today in the Wall Street Journal at go parallels. What I'm saying about that? So we'll get into it.
