Still, just looking at this again, I'm some just stumped by this headline in The Times Editorial page. Make America California again. That's the That's the thought. That's what the Bite administration is seeking to do, using California's a think tank for public policy nationwide. And I can have a whole host of reasons why? I think that's probably not a good idea, actually looking at California, looking at some of the courses of action have been undertaken, and the consequences thereof may serve as a guide for frankly something to not do. But we're just the state is not functioning at an admirable or desirable level. It's simply not there. And I have yet another example of that. Again. The covert response in California I think has been abysmal and and by the way, there's a Stanford study released stated today or over the weekend that indicates that the dramatic shutdowns the closures of businesses and lockdowns yet doesn't really benefit anybody that there's there's no reason to believe that that has been helpful and staunching the spread of the virus and the fax kind of bear that out is you look a different states and how they're doing. Versus the course of action. They've taken it. They do point out the fact that if you haven't isolated area that not unlike New Zealand and Australia, where they were able to stop people coming, they're they're able to shut down travelers coming to their area. Could we be in the spirit of what they really truly would value? Recognizing them, I think is fine. But shutting down businesses and schools and opportunities and certainly this this particular resource That could have made a dramatic difference in the lives of people who are concerned, especially obviously, the vulnerable, vulnerable by virtue of age vulnerable by virtue of co morbidity ease. There are people who have very, very serious concerns about the likelihood of contracting this virus and succumbing to it or spreading it to somebody in their family who falls in that category, someone for whom they're taking care of someone who they have occasion to spend time with, as in, it's a necessary part of their lives. And now all of a sudden, they're very, very concerned about that spread, so to shut something down a resource like this because it's Martin Luther King Day. A holiday just seems absolutely It's shocking to me how in the world is that could that be considered defensible and part of what I read? Is that the fire service the L. A fire departments actually managing this effort. Well, the last I checked firefighters worked. 33 65 365 days a year. 24 7, right so This. This is a discipline and organization and effort that's very, very much predisposed to be able to deliver this kind of service. Any day or night of the year s so it's just is shocking to me that we find ourselves in that position. And again as I look at The possibility of the new administration wanting T draw upon California as a model to follow the lead of California and look out the extreme closures we've had in the state. Look at the I think it has to be balanced by a recognition of the extreme violations. Of those closures on the part of the leadership in the elite as just a graphic illustration of how they must not really take it seriously. All the while we've got just rampant spread. The coronavirus in the state of California. So why are we looking at that and I fit it. Look at all of that in the context of the immigration challenge, and I would just love to see some some good people with With long term linear thought capabilities come together for the purpose of resolving the immigration challenge because I think it could be done rather simply. It's not a simple fix because it does involve Frankly, Whole host of factors that tend to complicated but I really do believe a simple and honest approach to trying to resolve it, not trying to score political points. Not trying to demonize the other point of view, but really, truly come together and recognize the fact that we have a situation in this country where we're not reproducing at the rate we once did order at the rate we need to in order to maintain Frankly, a viable economy going forward, So we do need immigrants into this country. We're also not producing people to to prove or perform every kind of service and task that needs to be provided in this country. And therefore there's a fair market exchange here that could take place, but it's got to be done. In a very strictly laid out. Regulatory environment with compliance. You have got to have that you've got to make a day a legitimate process for which there are certain expectations that have to be met, and there are restrictions that have to be respected. And if violation of those restrictions take place. The resolution to that is deportation. But I look at the broad spectrum of things challenging the state of California. And I think goodness gracious. I can't think of a worse place to look for a model for the rest of the nation. I think it Z Is rather shocking. Tonto here that seemingly intelligent people have posited this theory and I don't think it works for the nation.
