Traveling With Tech Made for the World's Fastest Sailboats
"Traditional sailing. Races can conjure up stayed images of white cotton sales and shiny polished teak but over the last decade modern racing yachts have turned the cop into an extreme sport. They have these wing like sales that are the size of jumbo jet wings and they tip or heel as it's called in sailing what looks like impossible angles towards the water nowadays. The huge yachts actually lift up out of the water and seemed to fly on things called hydrofoils ripping down with both boats up on the blood. An amazing start to this court. Shrink hydrofoils like underwater wing. I mean just like the wing of an airplane that sticks out to either side mounted on a stick that comes down below the boat and then as the boat goes faster the the wing generates lift in it picks. The boat up hydrofoils were first introduced. Officially in the america's cup in two thousand thirteen. With the ac seventy two class. That's the name of the boat design used in that race. Hydra foiling sailboats. Kinko twice the speed of traditional votes attack from oracle team. usa potentially another dip from emirates team new zealand. Both it has to give way over forty five nights or over fifty miles an hour and You know sort of on the edge of control not only sailing the boat and keeping it stable but also structurally. The boats are very challenging. This technology itself is new but it has been transformative for the race and it's inspiring naval architects and maritime enthusiasts who are drawn to the speed and efficiency of these hydrofoils. Now summer considering how this hydrofoil technology could reimagined more than just a sailboat race. We realized got something very special so went about trying to use that technology to try and tackle the climate crisis
G7 Nations to Pledge 1B Vaccine Doses for World
"Look at some of the other themes from the g. Seven summit beyond the johnson biden relationship and brexit. I think the big policy announcement george. We've about shaving vaccines with the words. Of pledging won't billion jobs how significant is this. What is significant. It's welcoming certainly listen to some of the The aid organizations medical charities. They say it's not enough. Misses a pledge which is being rolled out over the next year. Some people say they'd like to live it by the end of twenty one. But i think it is significant a big picture that g seven is an attempt by the west to show that they can deliver full the developing world that they can show leadership and talk about voting. Sometimes there's real concern in some of the western capitals china and russia in particular using vaccine's as a way of extending their influence into the developing world offering jobs with strings attached as anthony blinken. Us sexiest puts it over the course of this kind of expect to see the make pledges on tackling climate change poverty alleviation generally. So it's an important step of for seven off the four years of effective paralysis while trump was the president of the west getting together and trying to do things.

Believe have to expose false. The narrative decrees of dictators can match the speed and scale. The twenty-first challenges. You know. And i know the wrong but it doesn't mean we don't have to work harder than ever to prove the democracy can still deliver for our people. The many think things are changing so rapidly. These people who live near the G seven summit venue, watch the faces being built seen it develop over the last few days, and it's what they've done is schism. Amazing. Why You Should Seek out Marginal Weather Days for Flight Training
"What's up wally. Bobby how are you fantastic. This week. We're taking on a topic that i've thought a lot about. I know we've talked about it more than once. But we are going to talk about why you as a student of whatever you're at and your aviation career should seek out marginal weather days with a flight instructor. Absolutely i think I i worked on my instrument. Now it's been almost three years ago Speaking of three years ago yesterday was my three year anniversary of buying this place all right. Well congratulations thanks. So about three. Years ago i finished my instrument rating or so but While i was in training the instructor that i had was really adamant that we get some extra time. And i've spoken about it. I was really an apprehensive pilot Young in my aviation career. I didn't feel real comfortable with everything. I that's just kind of scared me but i think the fact that he was so adamant that we do it and then we got it. While i was training for my instrument with some of the most valuable time i ever got. I believe when i took my check with you. I had something like eight hours of actual time which to someone listening. Who's not there yet my nothing but how many hours do you have to have wally to take your check. Ride in actual conditions zero. Wow zero actual time to qualify for an instrument rating got up forty hours of instrument. time all of which can be Simulated under the hood wearing a fogle or whatever view limiting device. You choose and some of it can be in a simulator. It's you know i. I use a little analogy of and this is not really totally accurate but You know if if you wanted to someone to play football you wouldn't teach him how to play basketball and say here's the ball. Go play football. You know you'd you'd actually show how to play football the better when there might be. You don't do all your learning playing flag football and then go play. Division one tackle football.

That day has arrived sooner than i'd imagined. Melissa is no sparkling on the big screen as vanessa in in the heights. A role that has taken. Melissa backed her musical theater roots and forced her. "left tackle" Discussed on Big Blue View
"There's things that they need to improve on. Nobody's going to be coming into this league completely in one hundred percent. Perfect if they want to get to that top level of being an elite player at their position or even just being really really good starter for your team. There's always gonna be things that they need to improve on. Chris Witter the like the big things for you that you think. Andrew Thomas needs to work on going into this rookie year. It may be going forward early on in his career. I would say from the start it from the ground up his foot work. One thing that kind of jumped out to me was especially when he's blocking downhill. Even though I praised it in the first half he does have a pretty noticeable bucket step and I know. The more coaches use that as a coaching Q. I tend to agree with Charles Bentley in that at the NFL level. When you're facing off against von Miller Aaron Donald J. J. Watt Khalil Mack Chandler Jones demarcus Lawrence. Just all of these incredible pass rushers that head. Thomas is now going to have to go against you. Don't give anything up because you might be big enough strong enough long enough quick enough to make it up on the back end at the college level you are not. GonNa make it up at the NFL level. So I would like to see him kind of get rid of that bucket step in just drive forward from the start and then also just consistency with his footwork in pass protection especially against really athletic. Pass rushers nick mentioned? Dj Want Him and he did give Andrew Thomas. He Made Thomas Work All game long. Which is kind of surprising. When you saw the games that Thomas had against Julian Okwara End Klavan chason. It was Kinda funny to see a guy like Dj Wadham. Who is I believe? He was selected very late in the draft. How he gave Thomas so much trouble but he is a long quick athletic defender and Thomas kind of has a little bit of a tendency to abandon his technique yet. Lettuce feet narrow. Let his niece straighten hips rise and that just makes a little too easy for the athletic pass rushers to get around him now. Chris nailed it with the pass protection. Portion he does let his hips rise sometimes his knees rise and his feet narrow and that can pose problems. Now it's not overly consistent. I want to make that clear but there were times on film where I saw. All those things happen which led to balance issues and led to his pad level rising. I've seized technique at sloppy. In the sense that he'll overextend at the hip and lunge towards the pass. Rusher off the ARC. That's when want him. Would you know hit them with that club? And then be able to kind of turn the corner around him. So those things need to be cleaned up upon. If you'RE GONNA against demarcus Lawrence Ryan Kerrigan twice a year. You know Brandon Graham players like that they're going to pick up on these kinda tendencies and I saw it kind of happened as the game moron. I'm not sure if it was a fatigue issue but he definitely needs to work on those little kind of hiccups and another thing but his footwork and his slide. Consistency isn't always great now. It's usually good. But I've seen not necessarily false steps but hitches in his slide to where it's just like I didn't really look as smooth. It's a little bit herky-jerky and I was just like okay. I gotTa take note of that so those balance issues which are kind of you know really put to light by the fact that he allows his pad level to rise definition and now his punch now. He has heavy hands but his placement consistency. In Time Inconsistency Arnold that great in pass protection and. He's kind of a taller and I talked about. Tong are my podcast with Dan. Schneider a big Blue Banter. You know shameless plug but taller. Taller is basically wind a When an offensive tackle instead of earning the inside breastplate and punching up through the defender they kind of come around and Hug air flowers. Do this a lot and by no means comparing the two whatsoever but I did see Thomas. Kinda have that issue because he has to strengthen the link to do that at the collegiate level and he'll get away with it but in the NFL. It's more than likely not going to happen. Is Pretty easy to break out of that? If you're the strength is somewhat comparable on. Especially if the pass rusher establishes a half Ma'am relationship which can also you know I balance issues and things like that for the offense of tackle something that Thomas Somewhat struggles with so strike. Placement is definitely another so a little concern of mine again. It's not always. He doesn't just go out there and hug you know embraced hug kind of thing. But it's definitely not as consistent as I would have liked to seen so he has to kind of maintain that low center of gravity. You know sit back on his hips. Be PATIENT AT TIMES. Don't lounge and then be able to really strike with purpose placement and timings. Those are the things that I really WanNa see him work on. I hope he does and I think it's in his will house to really correct and just one more thing. I would like to see him. I get coached out of work on. However we want to phrase it is when he does get beat especially by a speed rusher. I do notice him us a little bit of I can only call it block do where. It's almost like a judo. Move where he kinda clubs the guy in the back in to push him past the pocket and I I would be worried that at the NFL level. The rest might start throwing flags for block in the back on that one. I do it against Josh Allen. The good one. I believe he did it again. I believe he did it against Aquirre and cream in the Notre Dame game. He might have done it against. Chason Something where you don't want your linemen to be hurting your team. So that's something I'd like to see him more more careful about and Chris. I don't know if you saw this at all. But sometimes I saw him really give up his chest because he does have the length to make the initial contact. Sometimes he'll have his hands just a bit slow to make that initial contact and it kind of gives the defender somewhat of an advantage. That's another thing that I just was a little bit nitpicky about and I wanted to take note on is the fact that he does give up his chest and I think if you do that at the NFL level consistent enough. It's really going to set defenders up to succeed yet. I did see that as well. And that does seem to kind of be a little bit of a A consistent issue with some of these real long armed long levered guys where they know. They're big and long so they maybe a little bit sloppy about it. Where some some of the guys who are thirty three charms are they can't afford to get away get away with it so there are lot tighter with their punches and with all that being said with all those weaknesses things. He needs to work on if he can work and improve. I think we all agree here. He has a decently high ceiling. Use the fourth overall pick in the two thousand twenty class for for good reason. Dave gettleman saw something in Andrew Thomas and realistically he should have one of the higher ceilings. Out of the tackles in the whole twenty twenty class. Chris what do you think is is a good projection for what Andrew Thomas could turn into his his highest possible potential for her being a player on on this giants team I was the highest projection that I would feel. Comfortable would be a consistent. Top Ten offense tackle. Yeah I I'm not sure if he is a consistent pro bowl or you're one of the top two or five offensive tackles in the. Nfl There are quite a few good ones. But considering the sixty four starters I think him consistently being a top ten guy who could have a good year especially if the giants get a favorable schedule could be at least in the cage pro bowler I can. I can definitely see him. Be a top ten tackle in the NFL. Also you know somebody who occasionally makes the pro bowl. Obviously you have to stay healthy. In these kind of situations I think it's definitely in his The remmel possibilities for Andrew Thomas to be top fifteen top ten tackle in the national football league and it's going to be interesting to see where he starts even home of left tackle right tackle and all that such a conversation amongst giants fans as of right now so but he does have the capability in the versatility to do it. I mean he was an all American as a right tackle freshman all American Offer the freshman obviously and then obviously left tactic two thousand eighteen. He was second team all American and he was first team all American last year left tackle so he does have a versatile versatile way to be employed. But I can Go back to your original question I would say. Yeah I think top ten is something that it could be. But you know. Development isn't always linear doesn't mean you're always going to develop and become better so we have to take to the coaching and he has to adapt to the NFL spe- which is somewhat of a projection. But I believe that is definitely possible in realistically speaking. We were talking about this before. The show is in terms of what he can project into. I think we'd all rather have a guy that is above average maybe pushing or close to that top ten projection or top ten ranking out of all tackles that left to right tackle. Then what we've had over the past five or more years. Which is Eric Flowers? Nate solder Mike REMERS GUYS. That have just been inconsistent and not entirely panned out to the expectations. We've had and just having a guy that is consistently there that is healthy and that is playing at an above average level on a consistent basis. Is All this team really needs instead of trying to You know high risk high reward on a guy like Eric Flowers was an I say this and heavy quotes supposed to be the Jerry recent. Tom Coughlin might have thought he was going to be instead. You're trying to go and get a guy that is going to be a little bit safer. And and the reason why we I'm saying that he's safer and it seems like a lot of people are saying this and I'm sure you guys could. Both agree with me is that he had the highest floor out of all these top guys that we talked about throughout this full draft process. He he's got a lot better place to start off from and if he doesn't improve then he still has a you know a a general decent basis for what he could be in his career. Chris where do you really see his floor being as a as a player on this offensive line? I think you said it perfectly when you said he was safe and I think just a perfectly functional fine average offensive. Tackle is about his floor. I mean he could boss it. I think any player could bust. But I think he's pretty safe He is probably about as bust proof as the giants were going to get. I think if his floor would basically be a CAM Robinson type player. They have some similarities in their game. They're physically similar as a guy who was just fine. He might not be reason why you win a game. But he's probably also not going to be a reason why you lose a game and I think that's a floor ally. Giants fans should be pretty comfortable with. I think he's going to be better. Even even floor is GonNa be better than what the giants have been used to Eric. Flowers in the two thousand nineteen. Nate's older I think is floor is much better than than those but maybe it would be someone who is of adequate to solid star. Somebody again is isn't who will make a couple mistakes in a game. That may even end a drive. But somebody who's going to be consistent in within the run game and also with his anchor but might need to clean up some of his pass protection. And that's it the development doesn't take but I just from everything I've read in heard about the cade. He seems like a really bright young man and he's just has his head on straight which I believe gentleman puts a high president on when drafting and evaluating these players. You wants to get the right culture into the giants locker room. I mean the giant cattleman and the giants have kind of gotten rid of a lot of these Odell Beckham. Junior's these Landon Collins these ally apples these quote unquote bad culture guys and we can bicker argue back and forth on..

"This year's draft class with taking Andrew Thomas the offensive tackle out of Georgia so on today's show. We'RE GOING TO BE BREAKING DOWN. Andrew Thomas for you here. Based on his traits things he does as an offensive lineman. So you have a better understanding of who is going to be for the giants going forward to kick us off here though as an offensive tackle. You're going to have to run back. You're going to have pass block. Obviously Chris what do you think of Andrew Thomas as a run blocker? What are the some of the things that you saw from him on tape that he's going to be bringing to this? New York offensive line. You know I think the first thing that really stands stands out about him is his really just his mentality he is. He's a mall or he's a brawler however you WANNA say he likes to take it to the defenders he likes to create movement pushed is around and he can create motion on the offensive line as a run blocker. Many you gotta look at all the types of assignments and executions that Thomas is able to bring to the table. He can block down aggressively and drive his opponent into the deck with amazing lower leg drive because he has a really really strong lower body and base he can kick out scoop block. Say like a five technique or maybe even someone who's a little bit wide turn his hips and seal that player so someone like one hundred swift at the collegiate level can just run through that. See Gap Kinda have that alley. There's a reason why swift. Who is a talented running back? Had a lotta open holes. Because he had run blockers like Andrew. Thomas and as a Wilson on the other side really really strong players at the point of attack and Thomas met. He'll just drive through your face and that's one of the things I absolutely love about him. He can get his hands inside in. The run game turned seal. Like I was talking about and just bully people back off the ball and he also is athletic enough to get to the second level located linebacker. Cut off his angle. He has long enough arms to also kind use his arms and his length to the advantage in those kind of situations so there's a lot of positive things to glean from Andrew Thomas and his ability to effectively block on the edge blocked down on a three technique as a backside blocker. So she you're looking at him on the backside on the playside. He's very very effective. And it's one of the things I love most about Andrew Thomas Game. Is that Mahler mentality that Chris was alluding to he will want to dominate you and he did it successfully at the collegiate level. Now will that translate to the NFL? It should but obviously you're playing against faster stronger. People in there might be a little bit of an adjustment there but man I I love. The fact giants added somebody with this specific skill set. Yeah and I also really like his power as a run blocker. We don't know for certain but Jason Garrett always kind of gravitate towards a inside zone or man gap run blocking schemes. He likes to really put a hat on a hat. And try to impose his will on the defense and then just run downhill and I think that as a run blocker is really what enter. Thomas is best at where he can use length. You can use that size and just move people a hundred percent. Chris man he he. He does all that again. I think he can do all that. You take any gap. He can get out in Space Trista worse than that area but you can get out and space on power tosses and things like that counters. What have you? And he'll do a good job on duos things like that. He's he's a. He's effective all those levels. He he has it in his a skill set to execute all those at a high level. That's one of the things again like I said I'm really excited about. You may not have tested as the most athletic tackle in this year's draft class at the combine. But you really do see all that functional strength all that stuff you guys talked about bringing muller mentality and it seems like the consensus for a lot of people is that Andrew. Thomas is strongest trade. It can be that run blocking ability bringing it to the left tackle position for the giants now for left tackle though it seems like the the most important obvious thing is going to be. How well do they pass block? How can you protect Daniel? Jones's blindside Chris? What are you really get from the sense of seeing what he can do as a pass blocker in most cases he's going to be a reliable pass blocker? There's I think there's some knows we both have. They're going to crop up in the second half of this but yeah he's good enough against most pass rushers. He's got those long arms so he can make contact i. He generally get good placement with his hands. He's got plenty of strength to hold up against bullrushes. He CAN ADJUST WELL IN DEAL WITH GUYS. Who Bust out counter moves. I think one of my favorite place was him dealing with Kvant Chase in using a spin. Move where he just kept square. Captain kept in front of him in used his hands to really keep chasing from being able to slip the block. Get into the backfield end for big guy. He moves surprisingly well. You know you wouldn't. I don't think you'd expect anyone his size to be able to move his feet quite like he does it. He has really strong foot speed. You can really see his ability to mirror and redirected. It's it's really expected when you look at them on tape before he moves. You wouldn't really expect him to have quality feat that he does for a player as heavy as he is nick. What are some of the things that you really noticed in his pass blocking what he and what he's able to do to protect the blind side of quarterbacks Chris was saying I mean he just that sheer length that Thomas Processes really will help Some of the US he I think he his feet are okay. I think his foot speed is solid. It's good it's functional but sometimes a for instance against Dj want him a couple times where he let dj. WanNa get hip to hip. And then Thomas overextended. And I know we'll get into some of his deficiencies A little bit later on these specific reps and then want him used a chop to chop the outside arm of Andrew. Thomas getting him off balance but Thomas is able to use his length to still kind of recoup himself and push want him up the pass rushing arc. That's something that he can do just the fact that he has that that kind of a thing to rely upon if he does make mistakes in his life if he does get beat by speed which is something that was consistent in his game at college but it did happen a little bit so think just the sheer length that he has issued and my favorite thing in pass protection with Andrew Thomas. His ANCHOR HE CAN. Anger is very hard to believe rush him because he's so strong at the point of attack he can anchor. He could re anchor if someone gets a lower than he does and is able to just bought him back a little bit. He has the ability to kind of re set his hips generate power through the ground again and just re anchor himself was one of my favorite things to see him do A. He's not a liability in that case whatsoever. But I think he's going to be a functional faster. He's GonNa be solid at it. I think there are some things you can clean up on will touch on some of those little bit later. But he's incredibly strong at the point of attack has all the length that you want to see are the is feeder quicker than some of the you know. The feed aren't terrible will go with okay. I don't think they're I don't think they're excellent. I think they're solid to good. Probably I would say But especially like maybe as the game wears on a little bit more deficiency with it. But he's GonNa be he's GonNa be fine as a pass protector protecting Daniel Jones. Something that Dale Jones did not had a lot of last year protection. So he'll get this season and it seems like a lot of times with these tackles coming into the league that are drafted early because of the schemes. That they're dealing with. They might not be as clean. Technically I think like Josh. Jones is a good example that he didn't really have to do some of the things that you see at the professional level in that type of air raid offense. And you're not really getting that full skill. Set from some of these tackles and I guess you bring up a lot of good points that he he's feet are pretty good but in terms of his foot speed is pretty good but what. You're getting in terms of technique is not as clean as you would. You'd hope for but he's got plenty of time to improve and get better and work on that stuff coming into his first year in the league. So we're going to get to the second half of the show where we're GONNA be talking about sealing his floor and also some things he needs to improve on but before we get to that we're gonNA take a very short commercial. Break a magical. I in ancient tree branch and a scoop k zero island by ghosts where all the answers are. Why welcome to the island of explain where we answer questions about? What's going on right now. Be gotree scores and do things that we have to.

You tell who he was good he. It was garbled memorial Williams man when he was a rookie. You know we're back in Houston. Somebody would teach him how to rush. He would be ridiculous. But you know I don't know man I I I went up a lot of big name cats at the time. with the Bruce Smith's holiday you know in the wife Rainey's and you know so there are a lot of big names that I got a chance to lock horns whitman and it was just off because when you say you can walk away from those battles say you did did you damn thing And that's what I means. Far As you know talking about mad at highlighting those battles that was that was kind of you know obviously awesome. They try to make stats for us. But the ones that we really we held on was like I didn't you can never say he had my number and that's what you walked off the field with. That's one of the things I look back at my career. I'm like you know there are a lot of things that I wish I would have done better but one thing I can say. A lot of cats can't come out. There and short highlight reel and have a lot of a lot of a lot of body work from me. I'm not on your highlight film. That's what I'm saying like it might be maybe one or two tires that caught me slip. You know but there may be one or two times that happened. But it ain't no multi repeat. These are rookie year. "Check came A he got it from the bill for their foot. The bill for that but it is good man. Ricky one of the things that stand out about his railroads would prepare you just different speeches man and then Derrick Thomas Mann my rookie year. That was probably like my Matchup that kind of It can help bill southen emmy man because I mean you know when you go up against time well still standing Most sacks acts in a single game and you know make you stand up. You know what I'm saying and I think why did a really good job preparing me and I had such a chip on my shoulder back then like I see nobody remaining It was cool going up against somebody that because I remember my Rogier. Like everybody's like Oh man. He dared Thomas coming to town row. You're going to be there and I used to talk a Lotta Shit right there so You know so we got Derrick Thomas Coming in and Ray rose man we come in and we're getting ready to play and he comes in he was like there's a man I want you to think about. He you know he was like you know we got deer Thomas Coming into now this game here. Tear Thomas is number one and number two of the single game sacks games the sex in the game. He's not to cut you off. I don't think anybody understand. Derrick Thomas was hell and and fucking pleats yeah I remember my was my first second year Lee and this is oh six and I was blessed because I played with Joey Porter and list of have guys who can really get out the quarterback but I remember watching the highlight tape on Derrick Thomas and I said to myself who the fuck is this guy because because it was nonstop I mean how he started. The game was how he finished a game and he was getting after dude. Big Tom guys that had named by that time talking about the Willie Wolfe so the Romney. He was Tan Tanis guys in new asshole and he was relentless so so I'm getting ready to see him and week. Four of your rookie year. That's that's four all right so so good so now if you go I think 'cause I looked at one time. There was a couple weeks before that he played Oakland. And so the two tackles that came out it was me and Tom Was a big Mokoena's. I think it was collins that came out of Florida. He went to Oakland so he went to Oakland. I think Derek got I don't know how many sex maybe five or six sacks on him so I put him on second on the list when he when he went up against his rookie damned out. He Com- man railroad in this hotel and he was like listen man. We got Kansas City about to come on his. I want you to just think about this You know how much ought to treat these cats like somebody that broke up in your house. He they tire Jaaz down You know I want to just take a by this day. Tiger ask their first of all he kicked out ladies out like Tiger asked now you know they. They went in July. You know they came and and the day rate your son sodomize your daughter. You sound like I'm just coming from Bobbi Biron wager like Acu won't let us lose Ray Rosas just on some shit. "To the fucking quarterback back so there's a progression that has you going to have to get Jay. We had like a domino office line. Oh we had the brick Sean Ferguson in here early in the season and he was talking about Chris. Long teammate. At the time was talking at Virginia was talking about how the British aw went onto a ten year potentially hall of fame career like excellent when player multiple times perennial pro bowler but his first game in college. I think he about five sacks in the in the post game Florida state in the in the locker room in the locker room. The coach blamed he was like we lost because the two reasons because You know air be and and because of the British and so you know obviously guys. It's interesting to hear guys take those experiences kind of use them as a chip on their shoulder. Too Bad thing. True words have been spoken Especially Ashley as often. Young offers alignment because everybody wants to look good and La Grape. But there's a long process of earning your serve because this the physical part part is one thing is the mental part because you know when you stepping out film room and you sit down and everybody put that Donald Look it is look at you. Look your helmet hit the ground and they play it as your helmet. Hit the ground first and look at your feet flat and doing a flip right right. Everybody cloudiest cloudiest progress man. It's hard to swallow but listen you stay with as you. Did you go on to have a fucking hall of fame career like you didn't it. Yeah it was good man. I I had coach Ma. I thought coach against did Jimmy Higgins was my offense coach of Florida State. He did a really good job of teaching position. And then when when I came out through my workouts and everything you know we went to the COMBI I do all the drills at the combat because I knew I was going to be one of the top guys taken and so I just I went into my little bench. President I gotTa Hell on ways and did the one that look I got out. I did a personal workout at Florida State and walk at St Okay to me man and now he tried to get me to get me off by myself and do a lot a little extra drills and this was his first year taking on offensive line role there for the Eagles so they brought me go through the process. You go in you fly to the team or whatever hang out man. I fly into Philly at like you know about seven eight o'clock at night it's dark and want to vet in jeans and we'd like listen you know. This is what I want to work with. Let me teach you some of the sets you know because we're going to start working vertical sets and started and I mean I just put my and I might be on the vet doing pass I might add. This is the coach. I need to play for a man and it happened to work out that way. Ray Ray arose but before before that I was on the field already doing and it just worked out at I was able to play on the one for so long. That really taught me the game. So so that that draft nine hundred ninety draft class incredible draft class headlined by Peyton Manning Ryan Leaf. Mix Second Rainy Moss in that draft. Charles Woodson defensive sensitive heisman trophy winner. what was it like going into the draft eleventh overall pick by the eagles. Did you think you were going before. That were was specific team. Give you like a premise. Is that if you're there we're gonNA take you. Where did you think you were going draft our remember that much of it I I about for the draft like I knew I was going to be one of the top guys has taken out of the other than that? I really didn't care. You know I was I co- During the during the draft I was It was you know. Once upon a time there was a event that would happen happening on Daytona beach and they called it. Black Spring Bro. Yeah Bedouin black spring break in Freaknik was going on in Atlanta. Grew up in that area. You See. That's great because I've seen pictures of Shannon Sharpe and some of the alleged pro bowl like pro guys go to blacks marine. We go and Ted up. Yeah Yeah and they happened in Daytona every year so that was the same weekend as the draft. So you know Like I had a big. I grew up at this part down honored as actually being named after me on this in January but I appreciate it and you know so apart we had we win Hong. I did the black spring break you know. MTV would be done. I mean it would be cool and then you know in the next day was the draft and by the time they called me man. I was so fried frat kicking it all night and man. We need you to come at the Philippines took. Here's the first. Actually my man mark that used to be a GM here. Yea I gotta I gotTa get marks last name always my memory. Sometimes misleading but Markelle he ended up. He was with the Eagles he was wanted to wanted to scouts. Wars and then he came up here and it was was like one of the guys with the giants I don't know if he was a GM or team president. I'm not sure but anyway but He ended up calling me man. And then that was it and I was here Philadelphia. Ogle so you're a first round. Pick trying to decipher that. Cause the first round pick is the is the corner of the franchise franchise changing you. You want to be back with Bubis Bubis and some Buddhist. Yeah that was getting advice and I'm going to get drafted back then. We all are already got our cause and everything. Ah Yes notable about to make money feels about to make mine and let me go there. We go hang out black spring break. This is what we're gonNA do life man. We had a couple of rooms over there on the beach. I mean I'm young man. I mean we just been eating an Oscar de Beers. I had a fire hundred bands aspect. Because you know you had to me rolling on to get one another. I love it. So so your rookie year. You mentioned that you're playing under railroads team went three and thirteen. We gotta ask you but you came in that year with Jeremiah. Mia Trotter a few other. You Know Longtime Eagles as the eleven th pick. Did you have a rookie dinner. That you're responsible for that. I had You know I had to take care that we see. I had to make sure we did Every every Friday I had to order sandwiches from Tony. Luke's and you know what I'm saying. which is is a fantastic steak shop so I had to call him Tony? Luke's did my brain food on the plane. And then I remember one time I ricky we we. We played a New York. We played the giants. And Ray would like you know. If you call. He'll let you hang out in the city. You know you could stay in the city tonight. You you know he bring you as we hanging out or whatever in mass so we went to some spot up here on even remember the name of the spy but we drank in Chris Style and Dante old. So I'm thinking I'll maddow got let me hang out with a man that's code down.

"And I played our whole careers together you think the one thing that offensive lineman knee like offense online and different than other positions because we're like we work together with his Brotherhood like you're a unit you know he will. He's doing something on his side and he's like look you know I'm GonNa pull around on power and make sure you go okay. I got you like we can do that and and that's GonNa make the play better what I'm saying I talk to my guard up like look. You just post them up. I'M GONNA I'm GonNa just take his out his drive them all the way down the field and then we can do that. We could rep that so many times where I could go to the game. I couldn't even look at him and he knows exactly what I'm the non verbal communication and so to have that with nick you know were. There's trouble out here I got you. I know exactly what burqas thinking boom boom to have that communicate. Don't I think it elevated both are Games James. You know when you see when you constantly have moving pieces. It's just challenging the have that seamlessness but we had that you know I have this picture in my basement. It's myself Allen Fan Aqsa Nick Mangold Damien Woody Brandon more. All of us wants to pro bowl. We had you know we fire as long way we were. We were legitimately what her best lions football has down because we play played together for a while. You know what I'm saying like. We knew each other. We knew the type of players we were. We knew our strengths our weaknesses and that fosters great eight football play then we had Thomas Jones and we like it opened up everything so I think that I don't know how common it is now now and probably is very very rare but the fact that we played in I knew Nikola bit from the senior bowl and we just we vibe well early. you know and so when and I finally played ball with him on the jets is I okay. This is cool. We learned each other. We you know able to foster a relationship and then we just you know we took. It took it interesting. Where is there pushback from office line? That was already there. Well Yeah I think U. P. Kendall was cranky. You know he didn't want to be the veteran guys between two rookies and if you think about a WHO wants to be a veteran guy who's played in the league and you know he he came from. I figured if he came did he come from the redskins or he went to the redskins from Myers owner or no. He may have went to Arizona. I'm I'm confused but like to play with and a rookie tackle to play with a rookie center because at originally was trey teague Trey teague was there he got injured Nick Mangold boom so now he has to rookie rookie guys that he has to Kinda like no. That's not the point. No come quote like I could imagine his frustration. I can only imagine because he had been playing with Jason beanie and so I think Milwaukee tour yeah that those guys Kinda like as they left you know we were speaking veterans. we're doing show prep again. Willie wanted me to bring up a story about brandon more and bring him some Santa so Brennan also known as the grouch somewhat affectionately. I guess I mean we call the meek because you know he's a big strong guy. decimals nickname so as a rookie you have to the passage to certain things Kerr shoulder pads helmets. Whatever yet yeah yes yes? I mean those are kind of like tonight any that's but but sandwiches breakfast sandwiches that was one of my responsibilities as a rookie as a rookie and you know get everybody's order. Hey what would you like breakfast lunch. What would you like and so this was a lunch order a rubin and I told you that I give him? The Sandwich you look at the sandwich doesn't have enough thousand islands though okay and so next week. Hey you know so make sure that there's thousand islands on it. Just you know okay get the sandwich way too much way eighty two and so this this would happen I don't know how long is it was like. Please just tell me how you want to just don't throw it out please. He's isn't just don't throw it out but again you know I think that was a way of like you know putting me in my place and you know grow up so to speak it would hurt more of that or your college coach telling you that this came with you. They're like neck and neck. That's like you. You know I'm I'm traveling. Everyone else's joined the sandwich and I'm like for whatever reason this guy keeps throwing my face. I won't even take a bike. I'm it was time with jets. you face a lot of premier guys on the left side. Obviously you are going to get that that Dwight. Free Andy Taylor Jones Terrell suggs Shawn Marion a bunch of other guys who was the toughest guy you went against regularly and what made them so difficult to deal you always hate this question and the reason why everybody in the lead is tough. You know what I'm saying. The people that don't get the fame are still tough true. You know the the people because they might be tough for you sure when against Matt Roth I wanna against Tully Banta Cain. I want against Andre Car. Those guys are tough for me. I you know yes British Seymour's hard. Okay yes twi. freeness are but okay those guys trained for you might have a game you might have a bad game but that don't make the other guys not as tough said Herman's and he said his toughest match was Chris canty not like a super decorated defensible blew my mind because I play Klay crispy once or twice I wanNA say was a cakewalk but we both held our immediate crisis cool now like we all know each other but I think to your point because he doesn't have a name down on me. He can give you that work. That's for the fans like I'm battling the same whether you noted man's name or not because you watch and you're like okay. This is what he does is what you go out in the game. Oh man he's way stronger than I thought or make this move that he does I for whatever reason I can't. I can't figure it out. I've got to change my game or you know I'm saying like I would battle against Michael Johnson. I will battle against Chandler. Joe's our battle against these guys you know or they'll do something where it's like. You know the game would be tricky. Okay so here's a he's a more direct answer for you. Jason Pierre Paul and then I think his name is like he's from Minnesota a defensive van or known no either Black Griffin Griffin Everson Griffen so these guys their their game is is interesting because they kind of give you like. It's almost like they play lazy. They play lawyer sleep. Play Lazy Play Lazy. They do a adult move rather go inside or you know speed up the field and it's like you can't get a rhythm as offense. Lineman left tackle. So much of what we do is rhythm. I Okay Kick Kick Punch okay. I'm giving my inside parts okay. I'm GonNa Punch Him One two okay come up and try to beat me aside. I'm GONNA stay flat over job like you. Just gotTa get into a rhythm but when guys lazy it throws your speed off I can't so now I'm I'm setting slow. I'm certain slow says look. This is what he's giving me. I can't faster ask him because I have to mirror what he's giving me and then he you know or you know there's a long seven drop and you're like Oh you know and he goes so so it's like those guys are frustrating because I'm like just play me straight up doing this in the middle rare but they have a lot of success and that's their game. That's what they're successful successful you know and then you'll go against guy like you know Jason Taylor Dwight free they they do three things very well right and they they're gonNA long arm you. They're gonNA blow rush you. They're gonNA spend side you know but they perfected it perfected it perfected and then it is such a such a way for away for you know chained up change up okay boom third third quarter then once you once you're guessing than your heads like and then the Gotcha Gotcha early on Erin show will give or gave it at work whose the other one Kelsey Chris Kelsey so yes so showboat and Kelsey were to look like they came out of a full factor yeah. They looked identical to white two white guys in the League. We try heart white guys all minutes to six point. You can sleep if you want to have a very very long day eight and because they were built a light they played like and it was almost to the point 'cause I played right tackle for the steelers for so long and I remember looking on tape. It is why you don't this is why you do pay attention to them. What do they call it the scallon sheet I played against something like this why why would ever pay a tentative? It's just hours paying attention to you know all the brothers on the line not to be racist. I just I was thinking connors over there like all right and I remember my I I think we had a preseason game against Toronto and preaches usually when the vets get to sit down you do your cup series. You'll have a couple of gay POPs sees. He's look pretty girls. In stance I remember playing this dude and he was hell on wheels to the point where my office coast. I had the flu because he couldn't figure out. Why is this guy now only about the sack band pressure and been and I'm looking like Shit? I'm supposed to be the project to start because it starts in the preseason as opposed to be flawless. She boasted no hello to do your job. Get you in and out. You're all right on the depth chart. Don't worry you're locked. I was getting work. He was pressuring my edge. He slapped but my hands down one time he slapped my hands so hard I hit my head on the turf because I just hated and I remember looking up at him and he gave it like shit sweet out here and I had to go back out there in the third quarter because I had to convince my coach that I was worthy playing right tackle I had to put in work but by that time he played about a series of his ashes is out because he did his job edge so is so at that point I was just like less emerged. One never judge buzz cover cover and to be cleats. Do Your job don't bullshit so it was a I I got. I got humbled if you will so that's why that name rings a building yeah football football's a very it can humble you quick no matter what a guy looks like like you still got a ball said you gotta and so that's why I go back to name or no name that that means nothing these guys in the League they come to play you know if you you starting that means this guy's the best person at his position for this organization. There's thirty two organizations and why do you think he's a bum. You know how many people aren't playing that put like he is representing this position right. There's something he's doing at a level that this whole organization believes the he's the right guy for that. That's an interesting way to think about that. I think so zero fans Hans think about two thousand nine Rex Ryan comes in after talk about the kind of compare and contrast the two obviously two very different styles rexine more as a players coach me and gene. Maybe not as much I think the the biggest difference was how do you view winning a championship and so I think Manzini came from or instilled in us it you do your work and that stuff will come but we're not focusing on that just focus on the work grime a famous quote that I'll say we we're in training camp. having a hard day brings us up. He says hey guys you guys are looking for the light. There ain't no light keep digging and we went back to practice you know so that was his mentality work work and that's GonNa Bring you success. Rents was very different wrestlers. I Lo- trying to win a championship Super Bowl. That's what I want and people are like Whoa Whoa Whoa whoa like eat known that I want to win a championship then you know that you hit all the famous quotes and soundbites but that energy energy was so new so different. I don't think we've ever had that kind of like fire when he came at it just like we were a veteran team Mature Chore Team But it kind of gave us a jolt of energy. You know like I said so once we had that we started bringing in these key pieces and then we we were just ready to go ready to go and I think that was one of the reasons why we were able to go to back to back. AFC Championship Games and you know somebody attempt attempt to do what we did talk about that if we don't okay so that was influential in your career that I have a lot of respectful..

"He's just GonNa grow you know I should say this differently. I had a growth spurt in high school. South to fifteen freshman year sophomore year then I gain and I was like two fifty to sixty tour end my career high school and then at my highest I'd probably was like two seventy starting college and then that was like the struggle bus trying to figure out but then sometimes you need hard conversations like look I don't think you understand where we need. We need you to be and so I appreciate appreciate him having that kind of conversation because at that point I was like coaching staff. That's what I call. My mom like mom I I need help. I need help and you need to help me and so she's like the get on these insurers and they send me she was telling me that stuff and then I you know the gauge started to come and then after you get into a rhythm and you figure it out and then that one all season I was like I was yoked to ninety and then the career kind of took off once you figure it out and the same thing happened in the league this kind of cycle happy you know elephant Akaka a play two years and it was like Elephant Echo was coming. Go to the line and I'm like yeah. There's no way I'm going to be the weekly on this line. I refuse I refuse. I go to sallow semi. Look whatever you tell me do. I'm doing help me get better. They helped me. We reach my goals and he would tell me the whole time like you need at least be three hundred zero five to two he can't do it. It just can't love origin. You can't get anybody power. You need at least beat it and he would tell me that does drop hints. I hear here but once they're like. Oh we're signing Alan. We're signing in Thomas Jones. I'm like okay. They're trying to make a push. I I gotta I gotTa make sure I'm not the weakling and then after that happened pro bowl so it's like you just got to figure out the Formula I wanna stay on health for Mimic because I on a minute because I think you a lot of people don't know the story and I know you've told it only because I know you I know another story but talk about your motivation to play football because I think people don't understand you had a heart condition and you had it as a kid uh-huh in your purpose for playing football dried you know it comes from your heart condition. Tell the story so I was young and I guess my pediatrician might have found out I was having like maybe shortness of breath and I think they were doing like a regular check up. They're like you know. There's something not right. We just want to do some more testing so they sent me. We'll call it to a type of cardiologists and they found that I had to have surgery fact one of my vows weren't working wasn't working properly at that time they needed to be open heart like very invasive invasive surgery and so the doctor at the time it told me look you know after the surgery going to fix the issue but you'll never gonna play contact sports again. you know you might have issues with development but we'll monitor that and this was like eight or nine so I'm okay the star options where I could have like a scar down here or like a scar from a hero under my chest and I'm like yeah. I'm like Oh let yeah let me get the the DIV Scott like you don't know what you're talking about. Let's just do the surgery this little. He'll better so I gotta you know about twelve inch scar on my chest so all all is all is well and then there's a long time where I wasn't able to go outside. I my whole background was like martial arts so the kicker was does fight each other alita Duke competitions the guy's only usually wore like are you know hand pads and like feet protectors preference I during the research your black belt in karate and taekwondo. That's what you're referring to yes. This is so let's say up to the surgery. I was doing taekwondo that stopped post-surgery. I started showed Akon 'cause dot contact but when we had to start sparring they would always make asked me where the chest protector now mind you only the females will wear the chestnut females of me where this chest protector and then they were kind of like no no you have you condition. Whatever some light oh I'm handicapped? I'm handicapped. That's that's my story. I'm handicapped and you're like nine at the time I'm older than now because nine is when the surgery surgery happened but now I'm growing up. This is going to do teenager. I'm getting older. I'm getting older and I'm like I don't. I don't really like this. You know. This isn't a cool. ooh This is not you know. All these people were telling me what I can do. Yeah and I'm like you'll surgery was a while ago. This wasn't like the summer after and so that started to eat at me and is actually like Jerry Jerry mackey and a couple of of my peers are like oh you should try football football football football football. That's GonNa that's GONNA be. You know how I get out of this. You know softness to play football and that's when I I'd like some real conversations with my mom. Look I wanNA play for what she's not. It's not happening. Doctor says you can never play again no but for whatever reason I didn't let it go. I'm like Komo play Mama play for like to the point where she's like. Go check your toxicologists. Cardiologists gives me if he says you can play then you can play but if he doesn't then we're done like don't bring this up if I know Mama Ferguson she is did answers when she says she doesn't blink. I think she's very thorough very detailed so I can only imagine that conversation at that age because now you're talking about you're right. We're talking about heart and she her background. She's a nurse she in the hospital and this is is what she did so this is not not talking from just a scared mom jeans like professional how do this and so. I'm like all right you know even at a young gauged. GotTa take steps. I'm like fine fine. So there's a new cardiologists old one had moved to Florida. What have you sat down and nervous? You know can't speak and she's like look My son wants to play football. I want you to tell him aw that that's not gonNA happen you know and he looked at her. Look that means like look. I don't really see the issue you know healed up. I mean it's no different than when somebody who didn't have surgery I don't I there's no restrictions you can do whatever you want and she was like no no no yeah. I think you misunderstood me my son this son. My son had surgery on his chest. They opened it up. Can you tell him that. Football is a bad idea. He's he's like I can't do and you're doing what at this time winning like mom I I think I think we've heard enough. They go out for the team. Can you just signed permission slips. Start my life. What did you how'd you get into line? Regis naturally bigger than everyone in the coach's tall lanky and they're like a line on the defensive end or linebacker and I think I think as a young kid. Everybody wants to play the fancy positions running back wide receiver but you know sometimes you have to. Have somebody tell you like that's not your future. It's not your future Mars having varsity basketball when everybody I've played against it that was the fourth position with six six now screaming point guard pinball the ball really get your home impluse so the two thousand and six draft You're the fourth overall pick in yeah. What is that like? I was actually at that draft. I attended did you did you boo. I'm not a jets fan. Come on Reggie Edgy Bush. I know that the jets fans are clamoring for Bush but he went second and then I believe it was third and then you yeah you're one of the I think half dozen guys that were there used to be a much smaller class. What was it like so we? I don't know this where you booed. When you came across the Komo News he's cheered look? They loved it. Yeah well jets fan a lot of times this election yeah more often than not. It didn't do him no yeah. No I know what was that like kind of your draft moment amazing absolutely amazing surreal you know like I think Gil Brandt that I talked to and he was saying like so you know we want to bring in a couple of guys. We think that you'll have an opportunity to get selected high. You know we'd really like you to come into New York absolutely absolutely and you that was me Reggie Bush Vince Young Vernon Davis Matt liner and obviously Mario Williams and you try to get to a certain level and then you kinda surpass your expectations ends here what I played high school by wanted to be the best high school football player and then I got an offer to go to college my first offer I think was from Indiana when I was like a junior Jerry mackey and we got offered like man. This is crazy like my friend from Iowa and then it just started coming in and and and then you know coach and say hey you know you have to really start thinking about this and I'm like man. I just wanted to start like that was the free poor. Football was everything like we had guys is that it was a big thing and then I got to college and you see these first round draft picks and I just I just wanted to play it. You Know D. One I'd have to go. Di Wants on my duty. One and I'm just GonNa try to do my best and then the be like all you have an opportunity to go to the NFL Mike NFL L. I don't even like what and then like. Oh I MC first round. Those guys are nice. Get S you and I'm like how now you know and then all American consensus all American and then like you know you could leave early. If you WANNA leave early so it. It was always like surreal because I'm just focus on the fact that I got to play a game blamed on my mindset like man. I don't know to quit football. Will you know and then but outside of my thinking like the world is happening and I get selected fourth overall. and I walk across the stage. I got outgrow their. I got Ron Princeton. I got my family there. I got my best friends Jerry Zero Timmy's like Kurt Hahn like all my my squad is there and I'm like that moment was lights flashing hometown kid. I'm on the back back of the papers like the papers back in the papers like I am the news and I'm like man. That was the like the mountain top experience yeah so it it was it was surreal. It was surreal. It's still surreal when I look at it almost feels like I dreamt it and it just a dream that I just remembered yeah so so back then in two thousand six before they capped the rookie wage scale so coming in as a left tackle or quarterback or deandre running back like Marlins and Reggie Bush gave me the highest one of the highest paid players at your position yeah was that like getting.

"Surfin turf podcasts week three got super bowl champion Willie colognes gone on everybody. I'm Steven Che this week. We've Got New York. Jets left tackle deep rakish off Ferguson ten years very impressive career really really great interview Stud. We'll get into that. I want to go over the crazy past a few days past week in the NFL Minka Fitzpatrick along with many dolphin players has demanded a trade gave me the hell out of here from the dolphins and he he was traded to the Pittsburgh steelers for a first round pick some smother later swaps Jalen Ramsey the premier quarterback in the NFL quarterback in a league as of right now has also demanded a trade the we're taping this on Wednesday afternoon the podcast coming out Thursday. He has not been traded as of yet but Willie obviously with Antonio Brown situation as well kind of picking his team have we entered the age of player empowerment is gonNA become like the NBA be a you know. I think it's tough as a lot of these teams who are dealing with this issue or teams that pretty much our won't make the playoffs or aren't going to the Super Bowl. JAGS PATS aren't having this problem I mean the bears aren't having this problem chiefs and Saints on and on on on the problem with this is now and we talked a little bit about this before we jumped on this inflates the so some conflict how people think of athletes entitled spoiled Immature Not Worthy of really you wearing the brand will be loyal to a team because right now you know listen Jacksonville Jacksonville Jaguars had nick foles. He broke his collarbone. A lot of people are well the season's over right you have Jalen Ramsey when he reported to camp. He showed up at a bring struck because he wanted the money so I knew Jalen was looking for the bag. Nobody has a problem with that. The problem comes comes with guys like me who played a long time in the League as some of our other our guest we who have played in league for a long time when you're upset with your position and organization organization. There's a way of going about it now. It seems that these guys who are paid by the way these aren't guys looking for new contract usually is just one out of the situation. Now they're starting to show. My mother was back in the day. Oh you WANNA show your ass because you unhappy. Jalen Ramsey was has always been storied cornerback right up not afraid to express his opinion but there's ways of going about it you watch what Antonio Brown did. You like hit like we had. I Taylor Long we say okay we had. It trips over the future episodes in first thing out his mouth was well it it the reason why people are upset because it goes against the grain and I get that but at some point in it is tough when you talk about football was like well the the organization in in loyal to player will always has to be loyal to the organization. I and it should be both ways sometimes. It doesn't work out that way. Jalen Ramsey is in a position right now where the Jacksonville Jaguars are struggling right and they've been kind of. They haven't done anything to him personally personally for him to be like I want to get out of here. He wants to get out of there because he's not happy with the team. He's not happy with Doug marrone not happy with the personnel. That's that's that's every team has those types of issues so now you kind of have these antics and you know all this stuff and join attention to yourself now. You have to have a press conference solely about out your You know you being upset about your situation and I think it's I don't like the trend if as if I'm upset about anything I'm upset about the trail said about hi guys are kind of having this call to action because they're personally upset. Just because you have set doesn't mean you have the right or does it doesn't mean you deserve anything. That's a you problem now. How you and your agent in power to be fixed at that's another thing I think UNCF is Patrick is different because the dolphins are tanking is obvious you get rid of your left tackle sure they're taking for two and if they toured now the power side will be the right side and protect his his blindside because two is a left handed quarterback and so they're going to try to revamp distinct and I think it's different his case because organizations taking data? I don't mean I have I still have to go out there. We send him perform. I still have to have with the Mon- going into the game with them. I'm trying to win the game and just because you don't want to you know so you fill the potholes along the way during the season because you're waiting for next season. That's not fair to ballplayer either but that's not Jalen Ramsey situation. The Situation Jacksonville is bad. Luck for in a rough situation in regards of losing nick foles office align is is is what it is but they have guys on defense that can still play yeah they. They got some guys that can go so why not play for them. Why not why not have this conversation at indices and why why why why protests now if you will why express the press how upset you are now there's time and place for everything and I think him doing it now being a distraction for that team which is attained trying to figure it out right now because they once again he lost Nick Foles Yep and so it's I just don't like the trend and I don't like to train in in which we're seeing it now? I think it's troubling honestly yeah this all stemmed stemmed from a third and three where jalen Ramsey gave up a four yard catch de'andre Hopkins he wanted Doug Marrone to challenge the call and Doug marrone did not not do that so it ended up in a sideline spats I was very visible for TV cameras in the whole world to see Doug marrone kind of played it off and said that type of stuff happens. It doesn't just kind of went over to say hey it's over move on how often do heated. Disagreements happen on on a typical. Nfl Sunday on the sidelines coach and player Oh it happens all the time. I think it just sometimes it has nothing to do with football itself. Sometimes guide me message on a play why he's frustrated about a coach by UNITA shake it off. Shake it off. We gotta play on and a guy may not be able to do that and sometimes what the biggest thing that happens. A lot of times on the sideline in particular is miscommunication. lot of guys don't understand that you know the coaches are hearing one thing they're seeing another thing is a job for the position kosher. That's be able to see without the tavern in his hand. What the players are seeing so that next time he goes down the field? You know it doesn't happen but sometimes players don't communicate well. They're MOCEANU. They don't want to sell out the other guy who really cause mistake and you don't find out 'til the game's over and when you watch film the next day so there's a million different things that happened on the sideline and sometimes you harborfield's that may have happened two weeks ago that now just boiling point and then you you know there's there's word said you know Roman say things that are inappropriate and hostile times in particular on the sideline and that gets nasty didn't they got me just being another space personally absolutely that just that comes comes to a head to it's a it's a it's a lot of things that sounded bottom mixed emotions a lot of you know deep feelings of a lot of things unleash especially when you're environment because you're you're playing. You're trying to fight your tail off. You're trying to be the guy to make the team lose. We'll be the reason why the team loses. Oh that's that's not that's that's normal so I totally agree with that in your time in the NFL what was the biggest sideline spats that you can recall tune coach one of my favorite ones. We Played Dallas. we must suplier play Dallas and I got. I think I got either a holding call. I had a mental era had been to air on the backside of a play. Am I right guard. At the time Darnell Stapleton he was young and so my office monoculture at the time was also Larry's Larry's airline and we get back to the bench and he looks at you know the the tablet it recognizes that's my fault and he's just ripping into my ass juno better. This is bullshit. You GotTa do better Yada Yada Yada Yada Yada and I knew I fucked up it was obvious that are fucked up. Yeah and I blew up. I was like fuck you get Outta my face and I threw my home at his feet and he looked at me. He looked at my right guard Dr now he was like what the fuck are you doing on an indoor. No I did everything the guy told him what to do. He's still fucked it up Willie's fall and so now I'm cursing at him and it's so low my office line flowers. He looks at me. He goes well. He looks at Daveramsey Dot Dan. If you gotta say it louder say it louder too we how these focus on the backside and I'm just fear I'm like steaming and he walks down. He goes on. He goes all right. Get Ready. We gotta go back out there and a little bit so Dardanelle. WHO's having a great game ball? He's like now. I'm upset about it was like you. You don't WanNA messed up and I'm looking at him. I'm like I'm sorry we cool off but we still laugh about that because he just you know he was blown up on me. I ended up blowing because I knew I was the reason that the play didn't do all right and so funny. Little things like that does happen yeah. That's a great story. so on this episode we have your former teammate depression shop Ferguson love and with that jets ten years in the pros played all hunt one hundred sixty games regular season playoffs as well. didn't miss a snap the only snapping this was a how'd you screw up gadget plays out for it and then they have to replace them with a tight end or something like that right but really great if you really fun you guys are very close personally very close yeah so this was a lot of good inside stories. He's a he's a for sure different print type of dude. He's private very extremely well-spoken very intelligent but one thing about breaking a lot people can attest to that he's an introvert but but once you get them in a setting like we had or get them in a setting where we can be enclosed right is like walking into a garden he opens up to you. He'll make you smile. He'll make you laugh but if you put them in a room what a lot of people in all eyes on him turn into a clamp yeah you know so but that's always been religion you know me I'm kind of sporadic and and combustible and I can do you know any type of person I choose to be at any moment bricks. He's very straight and narrow very to the point you know very thinks about what he he says digest as a lot these able to trying to get it out but he's he's special man. He's he you know for him. He's in a position -sition where I think life after football particular for him is it's like an open field trying to figure out which direction you want to go so for him to talk. won't be vulnerable in front of us and be open about his time. I think it not only helped me but it definitely helped him so I thought it was a debate is in a amazing sit down with them yeah so coming up right now here's our interview with depression shot I thought I every Wednesday during the NFL season we have nfl all of the grind hosted by rich Eisen and produced by NFL films it airs every Wednesday at nine pm only on epic's every.

"Thank you i think the gap the reason i don't write off minnesota because the gap between starter bradford and backup keno is really not very great carson whence was the mvp of the lead and nichols the backup that's the grand canyon they also lost a left tackle a terrific linebacker jordan hicks they've had to running back injuries in this world we live in today of salary cap in player mobility even great teams have about four tony gonzalez's and that's on us the patriots have this who are going to leave the patriots are all uh home what is i'm going to haul for him you don't have the pittsburgh steelers in the mid 70s or four guys in the dealine or like in so the reality is they've lost three of them the quarterback the left tackle the middle linebacker you can't win the nfc with that maybe the afc you can i just think the nfc's too good there are so many good players so so you guys are telling me that nick folz was terrible the last two weeks against oakland and then the first quarter now he's going to sit for two weeks and listen to the media guys like us other every show out there trashing him for two weeks you can't do it his confidence has has to be at an alltime low and would you look at what got philadelphia to where they were time of possession run the ball carson went long ball control drives now you've got to rely on the defense and this secondary has been abysmal holter cornerback ticket lit up by oakland okay the week before ally manning torch that bad secondary guys i i know john dodge offered surround lost i would say button doubledigit loss.

"I'm which you is no need to even hold the mic law some of this though the la rams of the healthiest team in the league they looked like the best team dallas has missing shanley left tackle quarterback in some of this bernie in in i'd i'd won one who's who act during the by eight on a drought and checkmate oak belly we just talked about what happens in new england they're never healthy they lose players all the time and that coaching staff adjust to make certain that who is on the field can be at their optimal best jason garrett it's all of you say are they done this is a team that had super bowl aspirations they are not going to win the super bowl if they are dependent on jason garrett making the adjustments to get him there when he can't see a guy getting his tail hand it to him on the field right in front of them as bridges just and and he can't make the adjustments bear not going to do it it was mindblowing because you know this claiborne that had all these sat he had two coming into the game he he he's not jj while he's not did did it they a county he he's a guy that was a nine leading your back the left tackle and you had to chip you had to give this gas some help and a gesture of game plan and help archer quarterback and they couldn't do they waited too long you think of dak this morning no athlete less of jason gear and i think with a you know if they don't get this left tackle.

"The rams change left tackle center coach tight end receivers deep threat slot receiver for their offense is new but why is everybody into this how can the rams beat they went out in changed all their offensive personnel they brought in an entirely new staff they already had a great deal line a great kicker a great punter they had some things in place the rams shank more than any team in the league the ram said we're going to completely overhaul it's like rebuilding a kitchen well it doesn't look the same as last month we got a new kitchen the rams offense is a real offense cowan people were very predictable their happiness is based on expectations we went into the season expecting the dallas cowboys to be the cowboys last year we expected them dak prescott to elevate i've gotta be more troubled by the cowboys dax not elevating zeke in the offensive line in the running game have taken a step back i'm troubled with the cowboys perhaps the cloud hanging over zeeks head going into the season has they've lost their identity go look at their rushing stats from a year ago to now this year they were first louis in everything and now they're very mediocre to below average is it possible they just lost a wild shootout to a playoff team they can't run the ball well the way they with the way we expect he o here's the dallas cowboys in a nutshell you have to understand complimentary full.

"Line maybe he can be a viable starting player in the league trimbe it right tackle i don't know maybe the guard be certainly doesn't have the quickness to be a starting left tackle that's for sure maybe have the strength to play inside i don't know but my eyes tell me he's not a starting left tackle in this league and the giants could've up and they could have spent the money instead of going out and getting brandon marshall they could have used some money gone out there signed whitworth signed it offense of lineman you know at dalbon tomlinson may turn out to be a terrific football player but in the second round john should it picked up a traded up done what they needed to do to get an offense of lineman a decent whether that was a guard if they an upgraded a couple positions on that offense of wind this season i think this would be a different football team and then the other bit of stubborness so now you have a lousy offensive line a the crowd torched last season you don't upgrade it and you simply hope that by returning the same people and having some continuity of of stinky nece they will get better but you also know upgrade your running backs yeah there they drafted wayne goldman who hasn't really seen a much of a hadn't seen a field but paul perkins they keep running them out there that's the solution as a starting as a starting running back hey maybe if the blocking was better paul perkins would look better but he certainly without great blocking can't rise above that blocking and the other thing that was clear on sunday you mean to tell me that the giants with their running game situation there was no room at all for lou gehrig blunck they couldn't find any room for a guy like who here blunt who wanted to beyond the giants that would have been helpful enforcing short by the goal line by anywhere short yard situation no room at all that was not possible the a bad job by jerry reese and then we haven't even gotten into bed makah do the play calling the stubbornness the insistence on you know.

"He had a team in the league and he would always talk about he can beat me he could beat me i'll let it go let it go i said you know what one on one which was backyard had older hood in the backyard fly watching this demolish them but for me i didn't have to do it it was more so for me to prove to him a solicit don't get a twisted what you see on tv everybody thinks you you watch it on tv you can compete i'm gonna show you the difference between what you take for fun i take this forward live so i didn't have to do it but my ego at that time i had the him so i do did it why michael respond and then i'm not at all surprised at all about it in i don't sit him and his personality it does make that message coming from is if we think of an instant go in like this mythical legend he but his personality basketball's also i mean you would never have a left tackle go left tackle i'm better than you let's prove it on the field basketball like ball hoop like like like you basketball's always been that like i didn't realize i remain stalled wear on you and i go i picture you in the parking lot like basketball's universe i don't even need a hoop i have a bucket and i mean so the basketball has a kind of a weird component to it that that we monitor thing like i be michael jordan's there are a lot of people who have said michael could still be lebron one on one may and they've talked about it and it's just like a fun discussion you know what i think about this like you know if i were ever to go out to gm club nightclub or something and he looked across in our bitch acapulco girl i would laugh it off because i would know i would have the confidence to know that if there was a competition jim jackson was stand no chance if i wouldn't even acknowledged so i do think his erronous should never reached down to is air headedness this was a mismatch in personas and and relevance by a mob.
