'American Marxism' Continues to Fly off the Shelves

"It was in a Costco today. My local Costco, Leesburg, Virginia. Told you I go there about once a week to get a hot dog. And I was walk through there, You know, Keep my hat down. The other things I get from time to time I went through the book table there. And I want to thank them. Because there were a couple of stacks in my book, but it looks like you folks are very busy. Because there were a lot of new books, including from some of our friends, and there were a couple of stacks there and it didn't look like anybody was buying many of them. But when it came to American Marxism There were two stacks and they were half gone. And whether it's Costco or Barnes and Noble. Or WalMart. Target. Sam's Club. BJ's So many of you out there. And even most of all, Amazon I feel like we're making a lot of progress. I really do. I really do. I think will be at 900,000 and a couple of weeks. And maybe a month or so after that. I think we'll be at the At the Million mark. As I've told you, I think when we're at the million mark, that's where we're going to be. That is Then we've reached the pinnacle, hopefully more, But then we've reached the pinnacle. That means a million of you. A million of you have jumped in

"It. But Venezuela has arrived. And Leesburg, Virginia, My husband went to Costco last night here. By five. Okay? Hybrid by for his birthday, our tradition to grill for his birthday. Usually they're $40. Yesterday. They were $90. Wow. We did not have rib eyes last night. It's happening that's like almost double in price, and I'm very scared that it's just going to get worse and worse. I don't want to upset you, but it's definitely going to get worse and you can already see it as I say. People tell me they drive into McDonald's. You can't get anything for really Maybe one meal. A small meal for five bucks used to be able to get a lot for five bucks. You see, the cost of labor is going through the roof in order to keep people working. Even low skilled or no skilled labour because they're competing with the federal welfare state now. That is your tax dollars, So that's driving up prices. There's shortages of items that's driving up prices. And of course, inflation is driving up prices. I went also in Leesburg. To a gas station called sheets and I went to fill up my car. And the the premium price was unbelievable yet it's shot way up and it's not just them. I don't blame them. It's because we were energy independent. Prior to this man taking over and moving into the Oval Office. We're not energy independent anymore. You know, OPEC is back in action. And, of course, Russia gets their pipeline. What do you call these people? If you don't calm, American Marxist, What do you call them? Stupid? He's got dementia. Come on, folks.

"Just west of Leesburg, up the point of rocks towards the city of Frederick, and it goes all the way north of the P a line into parts of Franklin and Adams County, Pennsylvania. It's a solid line. There are no breaks in it. Very heavy rain, quarter sized hail possible in 60 to 70 mile per hour wind gusts within some of these storms, and that's of course, as strong as an EF zero Tornado. So there's gonna be a lot of tree damage with some of these storms and power outages. If you're basically in northern Frederick County, western Carroll County all the way down through the rest of Frederick County into Loudon County and northern Faqir County in Northern Prince William County, you have a solid severe thunderstorm warning until 5 15 and the whole line is moving to the east at around 55 MPH. That would get it close to northern Fairfax County in the Beltway area in Montgomery County. Between now and about six o'clock with temperatures this hot and this much humidity. There is no reason for these storms to weaken anytime soon. Now they are cooling the atmosphere a little bit behind the storms. You're dropping down into the eighties into the seventies. The severe thunderstorm watch continues until 10 p.m.. It's been extended for the eastern shore of Maryland until midnight. And that's about when all of it will be over completely for our area. Overnight lows will be in the upper sixties to mid seventies. A steady rain for tomorrow as the actual cold front will be moving through. Temperatures will be in the seventies that rain could be heavy at times. On Wednesday and Thursday will be drying out. Mostly sunny, warm, pleasant, comfortable and dry highs will only be near 80 92 degrees in Dumfries right now down to 86 in Round Hill 91 buoy, and it's still 93 in northeast Washington. "In Virginia Leesburg at seventy two and rent seventy four up in Hagerstown all right Amelia thanks for forty one here on WTOP now our continuing coverage of the violent protests both here in DC and all across the country over the death of George Floyd as the protests began in the wake of Floyd's death the homeland security department was warning law enforcement about what is ahead according to CBS news agencies were warned Thursday that violent protest movements would grow and the domestic extremists among others we tried to take over government facilities the brief also warned of premeditated and random acts against law enforcement nationwide WTOP's JJ green our national security correspondent he's been looking into all this J. J. OB he joins us on Skype by the way you you've heard rumblings about this attacking government buildings and the like last week as well tell us what you've heard yes John this started Wednesday as early as Wednesday morning when people knew that there was going to be some kind of response to George Floyd's death and it wouldn't just be a few people in the streets just marching quietly and the DHS and federal law enforcement monitor a lot of security sources some of them with private companies who have connections to the intelligence and law enforcement communities they were hearing about this already and the reason I know is because speaking to some of them on Wednesday they were saying we think this is going to be bad and a part of it the reason for that was because of things they've seen on social media things they'd heard through their chatter channels they knew early on that this was not going to be good from a domestic point of view and even possibly some foreign activity trying to take advantage of it is this why the officers in Oakland were shot that's a strong suspicion right now because as they investigate what happened there they know that there's a possibility that someone with a grudge against the government or someone with any kind of point to prove against the U. S. would choose a target that was easy and considering the fact that there are those that have been out there talking on social media and in other places about trying to strike back at the federal government or federal law enforcement the investigators are looking very hard and very close at that that's a strong possibility China and Russia how are they looking at this what are they doing with all this chaos in the U. S. so we've known and we've been hearing about this for years now as far as Russia goes and you know China's been doing the same thing but we've heard a lot more about China in the last few months since Colbert nineteen is become a factor in the U. S. what we've been hearing and seeing is that they want to take advantage of any opportunity to one try to take to admit embarrassed the U. S. but as well to try to create more more chaos in the U. S. Russia because Russia's been doing this since twenty sixteen but China's become very good at it because they've taken a put a page out of Russia's playbook in the last few months and they have been off to the races with this if you look at social media carefully and you know where to look you know that a lot of the information and that's out there about what's going on is not from American sources it's from people that are trying to take the the words and the actions in the trying to twist them and the using them on platforms that investigators and authorities of familiar with that belong to these foreign entities and and and they're designed to amplify divisions between the US and in the U. S. between people all right J. thanks you're welcome WTOP national security correspondent JJ green four forty four couple of notes on the virus pandemic federal health authorities have received reports of nearly twenty six thousand nursing home residents dying from covert nineteen the scorning to materials prepared for the nation's governor the governor is that is the group number is partial it's likely to go higher the letter says the data is based on reports received from about eighty percent of the nation's fifteen thousand four hundred nursing homes letter came from the centers for Medicare Medicaid services and the CDC in Maryland covert nineteen testing more than doubled in may the state conducted more than two hundred twenty eight thousand tests.

Virginia to expand outdoor dining for businesses, potentially into parking lots, sidewalks

"Northern Virginia is expected to enter phase one of recovery tomorrow and restaurants are going to be making some major changes when restrictions begin to lift in Leesburg town council has voted to allow restaurants to term parking lots into outdoor dining area most of the debate was focused on what can be done for downtown restaurants which don't have parking lots the short answer is that we're still working on that during phase one re openings it was made clear closing streets to make room for tables on sidewalks will work we don't know what exactly the guidelines of the in phase two other than the the general Max from gathering limit rises from ten to fifty but even a close in the block of king street from market to allow them would clearly increase more than fifty people so that's going to be problematic so while Leesburg still brainstorming ideas for downtown the options are limited John dome in WTOP

"Newsradio six ten WTVN. Employs head back to work in the crowds are returning to the National Mall in Washington. DC one of the federally funded parks impacted by the thirty five day partial government shutdown the visitors noting the return to normal Caesar last weekend during the shutdown. It didn't seem like there's as many people didn't seem like everyone was buzzing quite as much, but it may be politics as usual on Capitol Hill. Democrats and Republicans have a short window to come up with a border security deal before funding runs out again on February fifteenth, the president valley to shut down the government or declare a national emergency. If he doesn't get border wall funding, Roger stone is heading back to court. Tuesday, says he'll plead not guilty to seven counts including obstruction of Justice witness tampering and lying to congress in the special counsels Russia probe and bitter cold bearing down on parts of the midwest. And Chicago this week wind chill. Temperatures will feel like forty to fifty degrees below zero. I'm Michelle Franzen. ABC news a pleasure to. Have attorney Gerald Leesburg on the line. He's a partner with the firm, Leesburg and Valentine and right now a lot of attention coming your way because of the wrongful death lawsuit against doctor coucil. I it strikes me Gerald that public opinion trial by media, and those kinds of things make it seem like this is almost open and shut the numbers that we're hearing about, you know, pain drugs being pushed and at such high levels. The fact that there are dead people. But when you look at being a lawyer, you've got to come up with proof a walk me through how difficult it is to get that information. So you can build your case. But we're we're in the process of of getting various family members medical charts. And so far what we're seeing corroborates the information. The limited information that was communicated to the families by Mount Carmel indicating the involvement of Dr Schuessel and really grossly excessive inappropriate dose. All of that are documented so the issues are being born out reflected by what we're seeing in the medical records. And it it strikes people almost immediately that when you hear, you know, fennel, it should be in ten to twelve a microgram dosage, but it was like at a foul in at least one case. People just stop and say with all the opioid talk that we have overdosing is such a huge problem in our community around the country. You just think how could a doctor do something like that. And go unchecked. Well, those are. Yeah. That's a very good question. Inappropriate reaction. They and you're correct. The you know, the typical therapeutic dosage of sentinel when it's being appropriately used for for pain management is twelve to fifteen micrograms. And that's why it just is apparent, you know, without even having a chance to hear from doctors useful. It's it's it's apparent to everyone that this one thousand micrograms dosage was clearly intended to terminate the life of the patient, and it's it's not just a one or two cases of a thousand micrograms virtually every one of the twelve families that we're involved in have a thousand micrograms pushed so this was not just a medication error or mistake or inadvertent overdoses, this was an intentional overdose. And that, and that's the thing, you know, when you pull back, then, you know, you look at, you know, people in pharmacy service nursing because it's not like the doctor can just come in. And do what he wants without being unchecked. When it comes to proving negligence, and then, you know, looking at hospital other staff, the doctor himself is it just, you know, here's the community standard, or here's what's widely accepted, and he did it willingly against that. And that proves it. Good question. What I what we're what we're hearing in finding and what we're going to be eventually seeing without dispute is that the protocols that were put in place. To prevent this kind of situation. We're being subverted clearly by doctors Schuessel, and we're being my information. My research is that my my my information or set Dr Houston was persuading those that he was collaborating with and had to collaborate with to administer these drugs being the nurses and the pharmacists to ignore those safety protocols claiming that there was an emergency need for the medication, and that would be an exception to the checks and balances and the red flags and alerts and questioning these rep prescriptions. So the question will become why this was continued to allowed to continue to happen over and over and over again, using this exception emergency exception to accomplish what Dr USA was trying to do Gerald. We talked about working with twelve families over what period of time. Do these cases present? Well, it's I believe the range right now is about three years. And most of our cases are in the year two thousand eighteen and that's another of the things that you know, when you just talk to people, you know, that aren't necessarily wise in the ways of medical science attorneys, and in argument and things like that your state three years how can something like that. People have lost loved ones. How can that go unchecked for a period of three years? Well, and again people that were required by safety protocols to question the medication or it which clearly would have been flagged by both computers and by training as being inappropriate the people that were obligated to question. Those medication orders were apparently not doing. So because Dr Houston was telling them they were exempted by this emergency that he was declaring an emergency emergency need for these medications. The problem is when somebody declares number exception to the safety protocol, somebody should've been auditing that that request after the first time it happened, and that would've stopped this from happening over and over and over again. Yeah. Absolutely. Well, you're very generous with your time. I know time is money, especially in the legal profession. Thank you for sharing. What you have this morning, and I hope that we can call again to get more updates our audiences definitely interested in hearing more about the story, Gerald Leesburg, their partner at the firm, Leesburg and Valentine representing now twelve families with this.
