The Purpose of Pennsylvania Litigation: To Reinforce the Constitutional Voting System

"Point of the Pennsylvania litigation isn't the reverse The results of the last election the points the point of the Pennsylvania litigation is to put back in place The constitutional voting system one legislature one governor one elected States Supreme Court can't rewrite the state constitution And then poison the electoral process leaching into the federal constitutional system That just can't stand So these changes in the voting system in Pennsylvania are unconstitutional under state law And by the way it's not even a close call It's beyond obvious They didn't go through the amendment procedures You can't change the voting system at Pennsylvania by statute They did not go through the amendment process They shortcut it Now I don't expect the Democrats to support this They're crooked as hell That's the nature of American Marxism So what they led against are trying to do is to make sure going forward In future elections in 2022 and 2024 and by the way also in state elections That the constitutional electoral process is in place If the process is to be changed they have to go through the amendment process that did not happen

The Domestication of the Potato

"How many foods that we eat today. All around the world simply didn't exist in the old world of africa asia and europe corn chocolate vanilla peppers green beans pumpkins. Tomatoes and squash are all foods that were completely unknown to the peoples of the old world. Perhaps the most important neural food. However was the humble potato. The potato was originally native to south. America it was first domesticated impro- anywheres from five thousand ten thousand years ago. It's really hard to tell because potatoes aren't very well preserved in the archaeological record. But we know that they were being grown. Probably when studies were first being built in mesopotamia specifically they were probably first domesticated around the area of lake titicaca high in the andes mountains. The first confirmed evidence in the archaeological record comes from the year. Thousand five hundred. You're the coastal city of n con just north of lima peru. The potato was the primary food stuff for the incan empire. Potatoes cooked by ancient peruvians. We're not too dissimilar to how they're cook today. They were baked or boiled and might have been mashed. Potato is pretty much have to be cooked in order for the starches in them to be digestible by humans. Some potato varieties had toxic compounds that required soaking and clay and water to leach out the toxic substances one popular way of processing potatoes in the andes was to make this involved repeatedly leaving them outside to freeze and then thawing them. The next day this freeze drying would go on for three to five nights then they would be laid out and stomped on to remove any remaining water. The result would be white. Rock looking thing not too dissimilar from appealed potato but because it was dehydrated it could last for years. Potatoes had been domesticated all the way down the andes mountains to southern patagonia. In what is today chile prior to the arrival of europeans. The first spanish explorers to the region led by pizarro in fifteen thirty to recognize the value of the potato but when they brought them back to europe it was mostly for consumption by the south american people they brought back with them supposedly and i know this because i actually paid a visit. The first place in europe to grow potatoes was the garden at the monastery in guadalupe spain. It was a place that queen isabella frequently visited.

Astros gins are really found in offense. Certainly the drinking water. Like i mentioned and at activated charcoal is excellent for moving out. If you have a filter you have to make sure it has activated charcoal or sometimes they call it carbon but generally that means activated charcoal they just miss mislabeled carbon could be anything could be diamond strike so filter. Drinking water don't store waters or liquids in plastics preferably Certainly people are gonna do it. You know. I was just traveling on an airplane. You're going to end up with some liquids in plastics. But you don't want to be doing that every day. Ideally minimize your plastics. Good for the environment better for your body. These things do leach in particularly when you're putting hot liquids in plastics especially bad but even room temperature not fan. I don't like when people are putting plastics in room temperature again every day once in a while else. Okay that's not ideal but you're just our culture our environment so you can. The alternative is stainless steel or glass. Those are by far the best. Silicone is also good for baby bottles or something. You might need a straw or lincoln baby bottle nipple or something. Silicone is good. So i think plastics are big one that i see all around people's environments another one of course is personal care products this year really an expert because if you go to walmart and buy the cheap personal care products full of all these estrogen chemicals. So that's really one of the biggest sources. Investors chemicals in most people's daily exposures is the personal care products from the shampoos soaps and stuff goes through your skin. So even though you think you're washing it off. These chemicals prefer to stay on your skin and eventually absorbed through the skin so a huge amount of people's personal care products across america are just garbage. "I would love to just take a few minutes to kind of nerd out about the process of glass recycling. Because i have so many questions i know that so many of our listeners are also nerdy and so do you. Would you mind indulging me with some like specific questions about the process of recycling glass. Please go ahead okay. So first of all like why is it important to recycle glass. Like maybe just start starting up at a high level like what's the downside of throwing glass into a landfill versus choosing to recycle and reuse it. Yeah so there's a few different reasons depending on what you do with the glass. But just in general why it shouldn't go to landfill. Landfills are inherently toxic. They can leach into the environment. They take up a huge amount of space and a huge amount of resources like millions and millions and millions of dollars build so this lower we can fill up those landfills less landfills. We have to have in not to mention traditionally brown black communities. And so that is one reason landfill suck. Let's not fill them up so that we don't have to build more. The second reason is when you recycle glass and turn it into a resource. You are now reducing the amount of urging resource that needs so for example. If we're turning into sand we reduce the amount of sand locally that we need to dredge which is super environmentally taxing process On the environment. Because you're just scooping up from the bottom of the riverbed messing up those ecosystems. That already lives there and we want to avoid that if possible if you are recycling glass into new glass Actually on a per pound basis every pound of glassy recycle into new glass you save a pound of co two going into the atmosphere because it melts. It melts at a lower temperature. So that's a big reason why most recycling is turning glass into new glass because it's a huge benefit to the environment..

Flipping the Script: A Look Into the Detectives Behind Yvonne Layne's Case

"That we've heard firsthand from an expert about the type of person she believes could have killed yvonne lane someone angry. Who knew von personally and had a reason to attack her with a vengeance and we've heard how botched the crime scene was how the scene didn't match what joe said. I think it's important to take a close look at who exactly detectives were on the case and turn the tables instead of putting the victims under the microscope. I wanna put the cops under it and look at their records and try to figure out why this case was such a mess. I've already talked about a couple of alliance. Police officers like quinton artists. A patrolman who you on allegedly said had started harassing her after a traffic stop. Artists is now a registered sex offender. Then they're officer rick. Who's last name. I'm keeping private for now. Who detectives told the psychic was rumored to be dating. You're on and possibly the father of her youngest child. But now i wanna focus on the four detectives assigned to the case as you may know already. If you've been digging through case files on patriotic. They were detectives. Lloyd bud samson william muko mark walsh and john leech and i want to start with john leech on april first nineteen ninety nine detective. Leach was not on duty yet. He was called in to help. Here's detective samson in his two thousand eight deposition. you've heard clips from before to assist us. Exactly his day off when he got called in. That was true that he was called off vacation to help us this case. And we've called in whether or not was vacation a lot. I don't recall that but yeah he was called in. Did you make the decision. That would be an order now. I do not but somebody did. And so each mccall on the day off part time off and helped samson says. There was no quote lead detective on the case. But according to samson he and bill mucciolo did most of the investigative work leach was mostly on the case to assist like mark welsh. In fact. i won't go into mark welsh much because he wasn't a big part of the case at all.

Former Boston Police Chief Davis: Kill Switch In Every Police Cruiser ‘Would Be A Good Thing’

"Yesterday's Rockland 7 11 robbery shot and killed by police after stealing a police cruiser. And then leading officers on a chase through six South shore communities. Here's WBZ TV is Christina Rex, WBZ security analyst and former Boston Police commissioner Ed Davis says. What makes this case unique is not the stolen cruiser but the length of the chase and the amount of times the suspect managed to escape police. Each one of those individual things happens. Really frequently but combined together, this is an unusual circumstance. Leach was shot and killed by police once they finally stopped him in Quincy after a long effort by hostage negotiators. They say he came out of the cruiser brandishing a police rifle. So when the suspect being guarded by officers on the SWAT team to drop the weapon He doesn't comply and starts to make aggressive moves with the police. Only thing they can do is fire. While the unfortunate end of the chase may have been unavoidable, Davis says there's technology in some police cars that prevent them from being stolen, called the kill switch. Now, when asked if somebody did something wrong, Davis says. Not necessarily. The incident is being investigated by the Norfolk County District Attorney's office, which is standard protocol whenever police used deadly force theory.

Climate change puts hundreds of Superfund sites at risk

"Hundreds of toxic superfund sites are vulnerable to extreme weather. I'M NPR chief meteorologist Paul Kutner here with climate cast. Hurricane, Harvey Dump Forty five to sixty inches of rain on the Houston area in two thousand seventeen the extreme floodwaters inundated more than one hundred and fifty thousand homes. They also breached toxic superfund site washing deadly chemicals down. In concentrations more than two thousand times. The EPA required cleanup level according to inside climate news. Just. How many of these superfund sites are risk and exposed to these extreme weather events? Frank Coal Ash is the climate director at the Minnesota Pollution? Control Agency. Frank Welcome to climate cast. Hi, Paul Thank you for having me on today the Government Accountability Office reported last year that nine hundred, forty, five superfund sites across the US are vulnerable to hurricanes flooding, sea level rise increased precipitation or wildfires. I see fourteen of those are in Minnesota. What is it about the location of these toxic sites that makes them does too extreme weather events. What we know with a changing climate in Minnesota is that we are seeing heavier rainfall which presents a risk for flooding at some of these sites and the impacts to both surface waters near the sites and potentially groundwater near these sites which we are. Managing and controlling for the toxic chemicals that have been found there. So it's really within Minnesota and the way that our climate is changing is looking at how that precipitation regime is changing, and we've seen that in the mid West here in Nebraska in twenty eighteen, there was a superfund site there that was impacted by the massive flooding. It didn't leach any toxins, but I'm wondering has Minnesota seen any close calls like that? I'm not aware of any close calls that we've seen regarding specific flooding events in Minnesota but certainly, that risk exists anytime that we are seeing a changing climate like we have in that, we're trying to manage sites that have these toxic chemicals on them from past pollution events that we're trying to maintain keep people protected from especially our most vulnerable populations, and we know that one of the biggest climate changes were observing recording in Minnesota are these mega rainfall events these six to eight plus in Sch- rainfall events how is that being incorporated into your? Planning for these sites yes, and that is the kind of work that we're just really getting started with looking at our ability to understand what's going to happen with a rainfall like that and and is the water going to go and where are we at risk for a significant floods? How will that rainfall interact with any of the protective coverings or protections that have been built around the superfund sites and how that may impact the contaminants as they they are moving on the site, and hopefully we're able to keep them from moving away from her saying. Frank superfund sites were talking about clean up. After the fact, I'm curious how climate change can be taken into account before potentially hazardous developments break ground. Yes, and that is an area that we're particularly looking at right now we are providing funding to cities to be able to do climate resiliency and adaptation plans to be able to identify how the rainfall and precipitation flooding events are going to impact not just contamination contaminated sites but the infrastructure that we rely upon many people are concerned about potential pollution from mining projects in northern. MINNESOTA, in sensitive areas like the boundary waters, how can we be sure future extreme rainfall events won't breach containment of those proposed sites. We we continue to look at the best science and the best research about how we can we predict what these large rainfall events are going to look like, and then build that into the planning processes our permitting processes, frank coal, ash climate director for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Thanks so much. Thank you.

Mix wherever I could sponsor, it was possible or maybe some anise I just wanted to make clear that we're not ignoring her baby to do the podcast. She was just given the business on. That out of the way, please enjoy the show. But we have a wonderful guest today by former intern and a fermentation Guru Sam Pike Sam. Below thanks for being here to the show Sam. Pleasure to be here. Sam I. First thing you guys need to know about him is that he was one of our earliest and our best when I was working at the messy and when we first saw his because you know, you have to submit a CV when you're an intern at the se were various professional and we saw his full name. On the was Samuel Gag now pike and I we were like is this a civil war ghost? Is He? Has, he lived forever and so from there on in and God bless Sam for being such a good sport about we insisted that he was a civil war ghost, the entire time, and as long as I've known him, we continuously poke fun at the fact, and actually at one point Julian I got drunk and made up an entire TVs we planned to TV show around it's called the eternal soldier. He's been wandering the earth for the last two, hundred and thirty years and the theme song is Taylor Swift's welcome to New York because he obviously he writes into your and I'm right. GMT. Yeah, that's our TV. Show, and of course, he comes to New York obviously to solve murders. Yes. Yes as you do. CBS is all procedural. Oh. This is CBS show. I wasn't clear and also not for nothing Sam. I'm so sorry we took your so. We will not be paying you residuals at all. Right, let's get to play myself in the show. Absolutely you even look like a civil war coast. So being a minor and all, but anyway, I'm so sorry to take a any more of your time Sam. Please tell us what you're going to be talking to us today about. All right. So I'm Sam and I'm GonNa Tell You all about fermentation and the different kinds of from anticipation over the history of the science, some of the culture, some of the contemporary stuff too because it's still going it's still evolving in it is still advancing. That's very exciting. I gotTA. Tell you I don't know. Anything. Neither do I mean we've listened to people tell us about how they make wine and beer and Sticks didn't stick Yeah Yeast? Something marist. But we're GONNA find out from Sam Sam please take it away I cannot wait to hear So you guys know a bit about like beer and wine or vaguely about. One of the three kind of pillars of fermentation I'm GonNa talk about so. Wine and beer that's made leasing primarily. The same has made us us to make bread. Et for men's sugars endow. Hall. The other two types are lactoferrin venting often call Hick link that says what's called Lactobacillus the type of bacteria that can birds carbohydrates into Lactic. ACID. and. A. Few other things sometimes, sometimes a little bit of alcohol sometimes, Carbon Dioxide sometimes see the gasset which talk to cobb out more later. Ended the third kind is. It's in America's It's broadly called Koji fermenting. It's what's done to make down. Like soy sauce missile soccer it's hard. It's harnessing mold to ferment. To. ferment. Things, slightly different process Right so And Fuel Freeman feel free to interrupt me at any point to get clarification or. We will we will. Kind of assumed is much. You're used to be at this point. Sam. lactoferrin renting or using lactobacillus. That is what I know. The most is I teach frequent workshops on it's what I can and doing daily. If I should camera slightly he would see just a huge row of Sauerkraut sitting just above my. Yeah. Saint Ours and Jar Sam's Instagram is basically just bubbling jars of of who knows what that he forged from the woods? Yes. Exactly. Am I not wrong you're not. The worst part is a horrible habit of not labelling everything. Guess what stuff is in how old it is. It's never not been fine. So unsafe there. Oh, okay jars. Not sure. Sure of this is bad or not. Guess we'll try it. Snow tested. So, what leftover mentoring is, it's harnessing this bacteria that. Is. A little bit of chemistry right here that I don't I barely know about what it does. It takes carbohydrates newco simple sugars in which are the chemical makeup is c six, h twelve, O six and breaks down into a few other substances the most important one being lactic acid, which is see three, eight, six, three. And the reason that wants to sewn Horton is that lactic acid drops the key age of the substance of the buner making end makes it last longer preserve Okay. So. If you just let the food out, normally, it would just kind of like. Go. Get bad mold bad smell. Awful. This smells awful. The some people a lot of people, but it's still perfectly safe to eat even make some of the nutrients and minerals a lot more accessible. And the way people are the hardest. This bacteria easily been harnessing at for thousands of years is by adding salt. So that period that produces this lactic acid it can. Stay withstand able an acidic environment, but also a salty environment which things cannot do. So by adding salt, the cabbage is that bacteria will just quickly take over multiply in. ferment everything until it's perfectly say. That's interesting. It's incredibly easy to do at home for like. I mean, it was done accidentally first centuries think about it. The microscopes were invented until relatively recently, people really didn't know a dockyard east even was they just they kind of knew the process entitles like magic or a gift from God or something They're alive for theories they're really need them the basics remain laughter permitting is a vessel. It. More only time places. You'll see like crosser. Back of some sort. The easiest way to do it at home is just take a mason jar can old pickle jar or a refresh Lee bought Mason Jar, just. Cut Up some cabbage mix it with some salt N. just packed their real tight in. Let it for that. See you don't have to add any liquid or anything. So we're talking about SAUERKRAUT. You don't get any liquor sour talents was so frightening there's enough liquid in the cabbage itself OSMOSIS SIS in like chopping the cabbage bricks enough cell walls at all this water just gets leached at the cabbage in submerged the cabbage totally in its own liquids. That's that had no idea. There are few other vegetables like tomatoes are the same but something like that hickel cucumber. You could slice and mashed us that out but the relief roast texture. Yeah yes. He leave it whole than you make what's call it salt brine, which is just water and salt mixed together and just with the cucumbers in that, they just start permitting on their own.

How to Create an Effective Roadmap to Debtor Assets for Judgment Recovery

"And that's the I think the part of the the challenge is that there's no one-size-fits-all certain. Someone has a judgment. Let's say it's a money judgment. I understand your recommendations for pursuing. These are a little different than the normal approach to judgment enforcement. So tell me what steps would you take and why are they more effective than what people typically would do something like the example. I just gave you before we ever we typically hire and supervise the attorneys for our clients so that we know exactly what's going to be done in the case and when ma'am Agree and make them a part of our team to enforce the Judgment. So we do the financial forensic research around the world. And I I mean that literally not trying to sound big time. But if it's offshore money and assets that are off sure, you know, that is not a deterrent. It's just another hook to jump through but we do the research we find where their bank accounts are legally and in strict compliance with gramm-leach-bliley act. We know where to have the attorney send the subpoenas for the bank accounts and the garnish let's say you never garnished an account unless you send a subpoena for at least 24 or 36 months for all the credits and debits including wire transfers. And when you get that you get every source of income that they have that's gone into that account. And then from the debits you see their wire transfers and the checks that are written to move money into other accounts. You see where they've Invested in real estate you see where they've invested in the stock market and who their broker is and they get the next subpoena and garnishment and you start getting a roadmap up of their Financial Resources where the money's coming from if they're making deposits for oil and gas income. You don't want the monthly check you want to own the oil and gas royalties. So you see where they came from you trace it back and then garnish those royalties or get a turnover order for them. So you own the oil and gas rights, not the get month of each a month same thing if they're getting deposits from rental rather its commercial rental or residential rental. You don't want the rental checks you want on the rental property. So you find out where it came from what the check was for and you go take the property. If there's a lien on the property you want to get the loan application to support documents the tax returns and financial statements that go over those loan application. Questions and it just keeps continuing to grow and grow and grow exponentially. So getting this stuff is not impossible. It's looking at the various places then working with the attorneys to get properly worded subpoenas to get the result you want. So you do want

She will no longer be teaching classes this semester a spokesperson for Gw you did not comment further requests not been returned for CNN the message from the Gw, you administration comes just one day after crew is a professor of African and Latin American Studies revealed. She was not a black woman that she had been passing herself off as for years instead she revealed she's white Jewish from Kansas. Yeah. That's right. Didn't know. Little yardstick. But how bad is racism in this country where half the people are trying to pass themselves. As. The hated race or not have to build. Those Cases of people trying to become a race that we allegedly hate and that doesn't seem. Not a great strategy. If in fact we are who we say we are well, it was funny because like I said August was the first person to send me this article and I got many after that and he made some joke like Oh must be a friend of Gina's well I said I it's not that big of a community. In Kansas City, I promise you I know someone who knows her psych I text, my best friend, my oldest friend from Kansas City and I said what's the deal that the name sounds familiar? Do We know her? Yes, she went to our synagogue she's so and so's niece She was a few years behind us to sit in front of us at snuggle. while. You Go. It's a small town in Kansas City. Now was she doing this in order to get a break I mean to get on the staff or to be able to teach these subjects credibly other thing too is kind of weird. It's like. I can listen to a guy speak about the civil war who didn't participate in the civil war needed to be reacting I'm old fashioned that way like I just feel like you can talk about Black Studies Chicano Studies. You may speak about that like you speak about any subject yes. Right. We're all you got CAESARIA coming on soon but like some of The best analysis about sports football regular are not from guys who played the game. You know what? I mean the best hitting coach Ted, Williams, the marginal hitting coach. You know what? I mean because it came. So naturally to him, I is the person who's studied it and really understand the science of hitting and that's why booger McFarland doesn't have a job. Exactly. Right I. Think you're right like. Is it the chicken or the egg? I would be shocked I mean, that would be a way bigger story if she felt like soul man like had to become this person to get this job than it would be like this undercover story and it would be totally different. This seems from just just a few paragraphs that this is she wanted to identify an Oh, I, would get a job doing this and she said I'm not a culture vulture I'm a culture leach. This kind of her may call. Yeah. Well. But if you think about it, if we live in a world where we're really getting granular about people's heritage and it turns out that you're kids got a better shot at getting into a better college if they have a little native American blood in them or little Hispanic or little something, it makes sense. A lot of people are going to be checking that box when they're filling stuff out like there's going to be. We are giving people in that. Arena that the college campus if we're saying. We are going to lower the admittance standards. If in fact you have a little this in your heritage. And your heritage or we may be hiring, but we're looking for somebody with this and their background and not that in the background. It stands to reason that a lot of people especially in the murky world of heritage are going to start fudging things right? Why? Why wouldn't you? I mean, what's so different about Laurie Lachlan out mean it's like going. Past. Kid off like half Cherokee Indian or something she probably would have would have done that. So I think we're going to see probably more of this. Well, she's no Elizabeth Warren.

Glimpsing Aliveness With Cara Bradley

"It. Could warning from my? Hike. On Valley, Forge Mountain actually mount misery I am on Mount Misery in Valley Forge Park. I've been wanting to do this just to grab my voice recorder and come and do something spontaneous with you for a while. So thank you for joining in with these morning messages. They are have been for me just an UN leaching of creativity spontaneity Tearing US I said yesterday and a lot of God a lot of like, ouch. Do I really want to put that out there who listen? Maybe you can hear the water as a Britt. Creek here. So what came to me today was to chat with you a little bit about aliveness. And about glimpsing aliveness. All of the things that I talk about a really coming at awakening. Awaking- awakening out of your busy thinking mind so that you can directly experience the brilliance of your life. And we take different turns. We look at this this gem from different angles, and so that's why why it may seem sometimes like I am jumping around. But really what we're doing is we're just changing perspective because there's no one path. There are infinite number of paths to waking up out of the the dream state of your mind. So. Being in nature for me. Is One of those paths that I take daily that I have to take daily because it it plugs me into. My sense of aliveness like nothing else I mean there's other things. But A, but nature's just so predictable. So glimpsing aliveness is simply. Allowing yourself to be with what is. To be with the gravel beneath your feet in the green around you in the sunlight peeking through the forest and the smell of summer the sounds of birds without having to. Label anything without having to. Analyze anything but you just start to melt or Mesh with the moment as it's unfolding. This is the process of awakening. And we've all had these moments. Every, single one of us if you've never sat down to meditate, it doesn't matter. You've had this experience. And I just want to encourage you to develop this capacity. To glimpse your own aliveness. To pause moment to moment so that you can. Hang out in the experience as it arises as it emerges. and. So it may be through music cooking may be through yoga. May Be on your run Maybe be in your car by yourself who knows. It can happen an infinite number of ways. When we start to pay attention to the glimpses of aliveness I talk about this I write about this a lot my book, and it's really informed my life just just recognizing glimpses. Moment to moment sometimes, we get caught in the thick of our mind. oftentimes we caught. In the thick of our mind to the news feed and what the world is kind of. Barrage us with. But then there are those cracks in the wall right Leonard Cohen says, that's where the light shines through there are those moments between moments. There are those precious. the the smell of coffee, the the site of Sun hitting the top of the trees you know the catching of somebody's is holding it there. The these are glimpses beyond the veil. Beyond. The veil of the thinking busy judging doubting fearing mind. And so I offer you a piece of my walk here as I. Look around. Bucks playing around. I hear the birds water and. You know it's just to be with that's it. Nothing. Special nothing profound. This is our birthright. It's our birthright. To recognize our own aliveness in the life force that moves through us. So. How do you glimpse aliveness? and. Once you start noticing you're gonNA start noticing more. And once you start noticing it more. then. The these moments. Start to if you're lucky start to lengthen. And the duration of these glimpses. Start. To. Become longer. And it's then in these glimpses in in a longer glimpse that you start to really hear. Your Voice. Your source, your source intelligence come through.

Really excited about it and try to do some really really big things So we're GONNA get going here. What the episode. We have a good brother here. brother Warren Leach. He's from the UN Groupe Society on Group Society here in the great city of Waterbury So this is not just going to be a very parochial type of episode. I I do these types of episodes in which I try to focus on what people are doing in the community so the other communities throughout the country who are wherever you may be listening to. This ad can grab some ideas and say. Hey listen we we want to take those ideas and also if you listen to something and you have an idea if you're in another city and you have another idea that you think is going to be beneficial to that other people can listen to shoot me information. Cpt Oh hunter gmail.com. GimMe a call We can actually a conversation about what you're doing and We can go from there You know interested in what people are doing across the country as far as trying to uplift and up build their communities. And so. That's the reason that I do. These types of episodes not. Just keep it a very parochial type of thing so having said that we got a good brother on the group societies society that is on facebook they also have the spirit of unity. That's also on facebook So we can check that out by the warrant Leach. L. E. A. C. H. So make sure you check him out and He's on facebook as well. It has the the group the group society and how it came across the group societies reading our local newspaper here at the Rep. Am DOT com. That's the Republican American Dot Com I was reading through that. And the there's an article that was back published in February twenty twenty says What very nonprofit will offer free black Latino history classes so he brother Leach is going to explain to us what his group is going to be offering as far as teaching black history in Latino classes. Now this article was published in February. Which would be black history month and so thought it's very important that we continue the spirit of black history not just for February but throughout the whole year. So here's a person who's trying to do his best in order to make sure that this situation is happening and make sure that our black youth and Latino youth are educated and let me also emphasize this is not strictly and solely for black and Latino youth he will go on. But we'll go on to tell us that. This organization is open to Asian kids and white kids as well so anyone can come and learn about the history classes That are being taught so I thought it was very impressive so Warren Leach is going to Introduce himself in kind of explain to us who he is in his own history in his own personal journey so without further. Ado Ladies and Gentlemen here is interview with Warren Leach of the UN Groupe Society. All right so we are here with Mr Warren leads. He's GonNa tell us about the group society. I really appreciate you coming to Captain Hunters podcast. Thank you so much for being here. I appreciate you having me and the group absolutely absolutely the way it came to know about you is because of the article that was in the paper aisle talking about what was something. I think is very important. And that is educating black. And Latino Youth about their history and you want to start a class or continue classes teaching black in his Black Hispanic youth about their history. So can you tell us first of all a little bit about yourself and then about the program so on? I'm a lifelong resident on who I was born and raised here. I play football here. Ran Tracking had pretty regular childhood and upbringing. Good decent family in my kind my life kind of went off the rails for a little while At twenty one years old I was the second youngest firefighter in this city. Okay year end over time though I ran into some issues with addiction. And things like that and you know it's been a long road back but I'm now ten years clean and sober congratulations. Thank you and so kind of why that's kind of relevant to the story is that I I didn't feel like You know my life was resurrected to be only about me. I did that before he also Trying to figure out what I needed to do or what I was put here to buy something I think. I believe that we're all we were all born to do win. You know no one can really do quite like we. We can is what we were created for. And so I've been trying to figure that out and embiid stumbling along across a lot of good things are going along the way the most important thing is that you made it back so and so you started this particular group the groups citing which is on facebook and other places tells you Neubert about that. The younger society was not always always acknowledged how this thing started in people that were involved in all my friend. Denise Patterson James Gatling Rodney Davis We were sitting at Barnes and nobles when they were lamenting about all the things that he used to go on in the community. And how come they don't do this? No more and how come they don't do that anymore? And why doesn't someone do the other? And then we kind of looked around with somebody right right right so we said about the put. Put together a we just wanted to have a black dance. We wanted to have something where people could come out you block off the street like the old days in everybody come out from the neighborhood have a good time and the more that we started to plan this thing. More people wanting to get involved in it actually turned into a live concert was two thousand and thirteen. So how what? The group initially was was. We were all people who have been maybe a little disenchanted with other groups that we have been a part of or I wasn't a part of anything at the time you know so we so we would take ideas and thoughts from different individuals who had nowhere to go with their with their vision. And we say well you know your church is doing this with you or an organization. You're part of the you know. See that as having value so so we we kind of. We're kind of a clearinghouse of ideas for people who don't have any structure or infrastructure to affect their division. So we will take a good idea. We will use our contacts resources and sometimes our own funds and we make things happen for folks that have no Go and that's why we were trying to figure out a name the CAUDA grew and we said well. We don't really WANNA be group so okay I definitely was going to ask you how you give the name. That is absolutely absolutely so. Tell us a little bit about this Program that you got going on is in the public schools you trying to get into public schools as far as making sure that. I mean we just finished black history month as we record History was last month. I did a couple of episodes where I talked about the importance of making sure. The black history is not relegated to February. We ought to be continuing with this every day. So you're trying to do something and bring it into the school system or into community. So there's a there's a resolution our bill that's now ally. Actually that requires that school districts in Connecticut offer African African American and Puerto Rican history. I believe estimating the actual language okay but it's meant to encompass the entire experience okay and Prior to that when you talk about on black history month a few years ago I was doing some work up at the Weill Center with a Greg Headley. You know who's now deceased in an? I talked to him about you know. Why are we allowing ourselves to be relegated to one month a year like who gets to decide to tell us when we're going to celebrate ourselves and why would we accept that so basically you know? I said the Greg we we can rail on and on about what other people aren't doing for us or we can grab the bull by the horns and you know we live in. We live in a technology that you don't have to. You don't have to go to the library in read through ten fifteen books to get the disinformation or this knowledge or or these texts of things like that. We have the entire world at disposal through the Internet. So I said well I WANNA have some classes for kids if if you can't if you can't force the school system to do something that we know needs to be done than dammit will just GonNa do it ourselves. And so that was the genesis of the idea and I want to say that was in two thousand seventeen in so this was prior to this bill even being thought of law being thought up so we were able to secure grant a small grant and we actually put together three different classes off of twenty five thousand dollar grant..

"Matt leach on the other side of the glass one it is not worth going on I mean there's nothing happening all your sports being cancelled or suspended or put on hold seven three four nine eight eight ten fifty let's go to look on the run in Columbus Ohio went up around Hey fellas your what do I guess I'm going to like it I'm going to use this the letter yeah what we're gonna do you right all exactly that's what I was gonna go back and look I recall Beijing is adding to where it is really really great I don't even attention anymore I'll be all right I thank you again if I can do question regarding this yeah welcome to the real everything completely shut down I honestly don't know I know that they were broke and I know that they they were hitting so are they I mean they were coming into the week to hit the actual practices themselves are being postponed or held off for right now okay and so we again everybody just like most of the world right now they're reevaluating as we go but as of right now they are postponed okay I don't think it was yesterday day before yesterday and it still doesn't look like we'll wow you're considering the circumstances leading up you know so they're taking it serious you know hello I yeah I think we right now I think it's everything's been put on the shelf in the care of the student athlete in making sure that they're safe where they are on campus or whether they go home and I mean the school is they're doing online classes okay on the net I guess that's about it thank yes Sir right thanks appreciate the phone call seven three four nine eight eight ten fifty let's go to Jim in Brantford Ontario what's good afternoon okay you're asking me what I'm gonna do when you know we offer the next week or so I'm gonna wait a minute I just missed that wait wait what you do all right we're going on a cruise you and workers in the southern me and my wife for Christmas southern Caribbean and the work we're going and if now if if our cruise line decides to cancel okay we'll reschedule but if they're going we're going we're going to have a good time as I've been saying to people all day I refuse to live my life in fear I'll wash my hands I'll be mindful of what's going on around me based upon what they're doing as far as handling everybody that boat is going to be cleaned within an inch of its life probably two or three times a day we'll be fine I'm not worried okay I look I applaud you for living life as the as you do and I hope you have the best cruise and I hope nothing happens to you I appreciate that I mean you know and I can understand you know everybody else's stand as far as you know J. L. M. L. you like you're not going to go to Florida okay you do what you gotta do but yeah we're cool I'm just I just don't want to have fear dictate my life so I don't know maybe by the time I got off the phone the cruise line may say Hey we're cancelling okay when you get to sleep obviously you found a cruise line that still there there's a there's a few that shut down for sixty days I think the prince's crews they've shut down for six days so you have the number one they have yeah yeah they've shut down and Viking has shut down which is European my in laws are going on are you there they were supposed to go on a cruise in April but they're not going out but yeah there's actually a few other cruise lines that are still going and I trust them when they say Hey if we can get to our ports of call there let this command the the ship is going to be L. cleaned and so forth and then they're taking a lot of precautions as far as how how you know food is being served in what they're doing and screening and all this kind of stuff now we've been on top of this for the last several days and just watching what's going on so I figure is it yeah my wife does too as long as they're going to work on and we're going to have fun we're going to enjoy ourselves and you know whatever happens happens you know it's just like anything I can walk out of my house to get hit by a truck today but you never know so you just live life in yelp takes responsibility be careful but at the same time don't let this stop you from having a good time no you're right I thank thanks for the phone call Jim I wish you the best of luck enjoy life I like it the way you're going to do it seven three four nine seventeen fifty give us a call look what is your what is meant there you go to him and his wife going on a cruise a number they cancel he's planning on going yeah I mean Hey I I E. R. he got he got his number seven three four down in eighty two fifty let's go do you long time long time is there Guerriere Arbor without Gary well I've been listening because of all the breaking news I mean it's not about breaking news we've had it for the last two days every seems like every hour and around the clock overnight things happen so I've been listening today and gently and I've got my cell of the breaking news sorry I like that second caller life does go on my fear level is a war on but everybody around me is about a five or six so it impacts me whether I am fearful or not I'm not I choose not to be like the second caller going on a cruise to the southern Caribbean I'm thinking of maybe going to sink Martin next month because airfares are half off it's still a low season and just going to get away from all this chaos but I have a question and I don't know it's not you to answer but I've been pondering so what happens with his billion dollar TV contract with CBS for the for the NCAA tourney and met all these local sports bar owners and big ten network in a televised conference baseball and softball games so much money is being lost it it's mind boggling the impact the TV our rights and down the tubes and the student athletes being on the shelf by the way golfers included because the NCAA is making a whole spring for all spring sports throughout the NCAA so I mean time don't allow me to ask all these these questions but I'm just kind of throwing stuff out there because it's not just about canceling sports it's about mitigating surrounding supporting industries and us fans your question of the day I don't know well I watch ex XFL this weekend I don't think you will be able to yeah NASCAR's gonna have their race but now fans and you know they might change your mind tomorrow and cancel all right so yeah life goes on and I'll listen to your show and for more breaking news Gary precinct a phone call Gary I didn't get.

"Sharp king deficit and I talking about the recently released Batman still photos the column leach but they were a little too crisp and clean to be just be leaked otherwise some would be fired but that was one of these major stories I'm I'm just not feeling the Batman as of yet to wall now now I'm not I'm not feeling Robert Pattinson I'm not feeling this Mad Max looking football pads sporting guy that they're trying to pass off in pawn off as Batman that is because I I suspect you may not be familiar with where they're going with this story and why we we are seeing this what we could almost say I'm finished Batman suit you're saying if I understand correctly that this will be a first step in the evolution of the character as told in the story we all know or maybe you don't know that there is a story line within the Batman universe where it is called Batman year one like the first year of Batman's trying to do stuff he does have a soup together yet he's figuring it all out and he's just going out really tackling muggers and whatnot okay after year one we have Batman zero year this is before he actually started using the Cape when he was just walk around and just a armored you know make shift so and he did not even utilize the Cape because he didn't see the purpose of it yet what we are seeing with this Robert Pattinson suit is what I believe it's not confirmed but if you know the comic book then this is quite possibly our first look at Batman zero year it's just fantastic I did to the story so he's not the caped crusader as of yet as of yet no and and there was just leaked air quotes here a a screen test shot of Zoe Kravitz are not yes only Kravitz in her Catwoman suit looks great too also kind of year one yes N. or a zero here and it looks like it's almost if your member Michelle Pfeiffer that would how would look they stitch together yeah it has that kind of vibe to it looks like a classic Catwoman suit but sticks together I've been reading that there may be a half dozen or more villains in this movie you are not in correct we're going from Riddler penguin to face the whole care woman that woman of course if you know early love interest of four Robert Pattinson's V. Batman this is the story we're in we are bad and he's been out there he's been doing his Batman thing he's been brutalizing criminals but in this story in zero year he is hit with arguably his first and greatest mystery which is like this is a story that launches you know the world's greatest detective we will see fighting because from my understanding him and so he Kravitz have been spending every single day doing you know martial arts training ju jitsu krav everything in proper preparation for this role the the action sequences are supposed to be out of control there's also leaked footage from them in a what looks to be a Spanish town which everyone is saying is you know the fictional town we're basing this problem so we may be seeing pain in this as well let me ask you this yeah it's supposed to be released June of twenty twenty one yeah why should we even care this far out because from all looks that we've seen so far from where this is going and how Warner brothers keeps biting at this apple DC keeps biting at this apple to tell the definitive Batman story without a whole lot of Batman stories some good some bad some great we need the definitive Batman story the one story that everyone can come together and say this is it this is the truth sadly dandy detail didio which one either either office job yeah he did and and that's sad because I'm like wow with weeks economics for those who don't know what he was the former president or co president of DC comes and publisher but he's out and now they eighteen T. is tightening the screws on their ownership almost thought it might be better in DC comics altogether altogether altogether but keeping their properties now that they may enhance the digital properties in and and toy lines and stuff like that for merchandising but the comic book company when you get rid of some one of Dan didio deals caliber man you're saying a lot ATD is basically saying and if we need all this you guys really haven't been showing this anything on comic book shelves comic book shelves are are are replete with DC comic books they just aren't selling because the older cats those of us who still collect comic books what kind of turned off of the stories that younger kids are like I don't know who Batman really is for them Robert Pattinson could be their first turn a bad band yeah so this is extremely exciting that D. C. thing okay we're gonna go back in and we're going to give you a Batman story that you've never really see we saw clip of it we saw little bits and pieces and in Christian bale's Batman we saw I'm kind of going to his past in trains that no this is it we're given gear one type Batman stuff here we got to go to a commercial break and I know there's other things we got to get to but I found it really strange that there was such a media blitz from all these leaks talking about this movie we're talking about just stills and everything not really a lot of footage for movie a year and a half away so that should tell you how important the movie is to not only the franchise but the industry overall this is the most Kelly show more net aroma when we come back KFI am six forty we're live everywhere on the I heart radio app now Michael should pay has the news in the news room.

"If you're just joining us we took apart the Houston Texans just like Kansas City. Did in the first hour of the show Mike Leach new head coach and Mississippi State will join us. You know must see TV. This year is the egg bowl between Mississippi. Ah Mississippi State and Ole miss with Lane kiffin versus Mike Leach. So we'll talk to Mike Leach coming up David Pollack. Espn College football. Analysts will join us a little bit. We will get ready preview. The National Title Game Clemson at Lsu and yes it is Clemson at LSU in New Orleans deforest Buckner of of my forty niners. Great Defensive Lineman will join US coming up as well eight seven seven three. DP show email address GPS. Dan Patrick dot com twitter handle at DP. Show show packer fans. We have something for you Seton. Can I tell them about this. Yeah you can okay if if they go to the website. It's not there yet. Oh it's not up there yet. Okay I I'm gonNA maybe I t's it for tomorrow or later today I'd say later today okay later today. I got a surprise for you on the website. I got a new T shirt for you packer fans. This one's up there with Aaron says. Relax the other one where he shovels his own snow. We got another one for you because if you were picking up what he he was saying the microphones pick this up on TV. We have a new T. shirt for you packer. Fans just in time for this weekend's game against the forty niners. Yes paulie from the people who who brought you shovel your own. Snow also can't say chiefs fans your Patrick Mahomes. T shirts are still up there if you go to the website and we got the packer ones a lot of fun. It's simple but I think you'll like it go to Dan. Patrick dot com a poll question. mclovin what are you have for. We haven't sent one yet. I have a few. I have not pitchy yet. Okay who is the. Most unstoppable weapon laughed in the playoffs. Non quarterback WHO's the guy is travis. Kelsey George kiddle Davante Adams Derrick Henry and I'm taking Tariq Hill offers you a little bit banged up but who were those guys. It's interesting well I can't I didn't WanNa have one guy from each team and I wanted to put Kelsey. Because he was so good. The other Torri kill is amazing to or you could rephrase it. WHO's more Travis Kelsey or George Kettle? WHO's the best tight end in football right now? Aw That's a coin flip Derrick Henry is the most unstoppable any. Keep this up sort of moving forward to or is it just. I have to believe that any defense facing the titans is not worried about Ryan Tannehill beating them with his arm. Although he's got a high quarterback rating and he is you just. Don't want mistakes if he's mistake free. And and you're GONNA get mileage out Derrick Henry then you can stay in that game because this comes back to. Can I keep you off the field. How long can I keep you off off the field and that's where you want? Patrick Mahomes to come on the field. And he knows that he's got to produce because you're going to get the ball back and you're going to control the clock if you can make him nervous that way which is saying a lot you know and this is a team. That's gotTa go back on the road. I mean you beat New England. You've beaten Baltimore. You can't be afraid of anybody nervous with anybody. But this is a different team than you faced New England and you faced with the Ravens because this passing attack his different than anybody else's passing attack Lamar Jackson led the NFL and touchdown passes because Patrick Mahomes miss time with injuries this year but that offense is as quick striking as you've seen in quite some time so much so it can be the detriment of that defense because that defense has to go back out there and if you lupone them and you you make them stay on the field along time you accomplish two things you wear out that defense. So when have you ever noticed when a pitcher sure gets stronger. Later in the game you know curt schilling us to do this all the time. Randy Johnson Roger Clements. The later the game went on the better they got the harder they through the more dominating. And that's what happens with the running attack because you just wear down the defense and then Derrick Henry is even more of a beast but you also keep homes off the field. Both it's a does it surprise you. The Titans are seven point underdogs in the packers are seven point underdogs. It did me because I thought okay. Maybe the packers would be five and a half point underdogs and that the titans might be an eight point underdog but if it's going to be a one possession game signed me up. I'm I'm all in for that. Yes mclovin Aaron Rodgers is seven point the talk to Jimmy Garoppolo. That's really surprised me. How many times says Aaron Rogers been a seven point underdog in his career maybe maybe stats stats? INC can help us. And we also propose. The following. North Dakota State won another national title. Is this division two one yes. FC Okay. I don't know what categories we have division subdivisions colder sex. All those things North Dakota state versus rutgers for the right to play in the big ten. Yup I talked to my guy on the desert. Montreal Max yes to work at the stardust. Yeah he broke down the numbers he said based on power rankings. They they can slot North Dakota state power rankings there around the the level of Boise State or Michigan State in Division One. So they're a you know. Upper third team up her half team in division they would be an neutral field a twenty one point favorite record. That's that's his. Best estimate based off like if Michigan state replying rutgers. Yeah so the your by Your Bison are bison yeah would clean up rutgers fritzy's rutgers rutgers team if you're the big ten and you could get North Dakota state. Well you're the reason why rutgers got in there that somehow somebody thought you know people in New York New York City Care About College football which they don't you might. Have you know people who graduated who go to New York City and then they go to sports bars. Like you'll go to a Wisconsin sports bar but they don't care about college football there but hey rutgers we're going to get the New York Times is going to cover the big ten Dan. Yes make love but you can't look at players in the NFL from rutgers because the entire squad graduate straight to the Patriots Roster so. There's about fifty rutgers Chris players in the NFL ballot check. Goes there for every graduation and then he just takes them as they come off a at the podium Camonte wiz kid or something I think is son. One of his. His oldest son does have two sons. I have six rutgers players on patriots right now. A couple of best and worst tweets EH. Best Ryan Tannehill one game away from going back to Miami this time for Super Bowl the worst Pete Carroll Bill. O'Brien not going for it on fourth in in one someone get them. That's exactly what sneaky sandler needed. Kevin Garnett to get nominated for best actor and then Sandman for best supporting actor. Maybe that would have helped. Yeah Brad Pitt. I I thought was great. I thought he was. He was really good. Adam driver I've watched. I watched the movie depressing as Hell. And if you don't watch it with your wife he I thought Scarlett Johansson was spectacular in that role did she get nominee. She was nominee Gena. She was really good. It's depressing. It was just oh my God and go okay mccoo go back downstairs. Watch football yes. I heard Adam driver really showed his rangers. I'm sure sure that he's he's a great actor but he it feels like Adam driver plays Adam driver it does I you know. I'm sorry whether he's a doofus in in Brooklyn or like an imperial warlord or Patterson where he's Andrew Armor or some random husband. Yeah I know walking Phoenix plays. He's the joker he's the joker and you know he's probably GonNa win it. Then he was. He was spectacular. Yeah poll do you think. These nominations were unveiled this morning and a reading the names I sam or sandwich people are sitting there and they will Go through LOB. Leonardo di Caprio Adam driver. Oh you hear the where I mean. If you're listening Yup Yup. Yeah by the way Bill Polian still thinks thinks he is not that great of an actor. He's standing by it. He voted against him. Yes we love. I've never heard of the Antonio banderas movie. By the way what is already forgot what I know what it is baby puss and boots from Shrek. Grade and boots. He was amazing by the way. I don't know if you know she was. She's funny yes. She has a drama role about her grandmother. Died and supposed to be amazing. She got totally disc. Well that story is like they don't tell her grandma's dying like they. All the family goes over and lives China. Yes yeah I cried during the trailer and she didn't get nine that's another snub. Greta Gerwig for little women directing what you cry. Oh wait till you see this trailer. It's about her bonding with her. Grandmother is about to die. It's very. I want to see that movie parasite. Yeah that's good. I saw that. But where my screeners I I pl- I'm paying my dues for the screen actors guild. You Know Damn I wonder if the screeners are where the RACKHAM SOM- robots are because we can't find them or my drumsticks from Neil. Peer from rush just passed away. There has to be some area here in this man cave where there's just a bunch of stuff I'll be looking for for quite some time. Yes mclovin so after. The Irishman came on Netflix. Seton and I had a big debate on the show about whether it's good or not if it wins the Oscar. Does that endorse my viewpoint that it was good or does that sort of show sort of a flaw with the academy. I I guess it's great moviemaking. I just I wasn't. I was bored at times. Like okay. People hated the de Aging to the. Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah. Yeah that was. That was weird. What was the movie? Oh bombshell show. I went to see bombshell great. They the like I'm watching where you're going Charlie's there on AH Charlie's thereon. I mean it's she looks just like Megan she really does it. Crazy in sounds like her John. Lithgow is spectaculars. Roger ailes creepy spectacular. Margot Robbie has the two greatest scenes in the movie. A And I didn't go in with a political agenda as much as I just heard how great the acting was Nicole. Kidman is great. If it was well done really was because I thought how are they going to intersperse..

"That's Mike leach answering the question as to what wedding is you could give young men the high school student Asian kid told his parents that he was a sexual they said they were disappointed he wasn't a plus sexual it happens every yes you're up there okay I just listened to everything and I'm thinking oh my lord I have to factor traffic on the said Houston river bridge everyday going to balance in the Iraqi among lower on the lower anyway Dan Crenshaw he is my hero as well is back open every well you're very you're very kind to say that eight Michael berry keep me sane in an insane world okay well I appreciate that dear thank you very much from all why did the electricians punch a hole in the wall he needed an outlet mark your up go ahead Hey Dan are Michael Murphy I got a quick question about this Dan Crenshaw thing and I am a huge fan of Dan Crenshaw and my question is I was in the airforce back in the early two thousands when George W. bush and Colin Powell or saying for sure there were weapons of mass destruction what is the difference now between what day words saying and everyone believe that and now we're supposed to believe all the stuff about what is going on with possible threats and stuff like that what the intelligence community is telling us why do we believe it now when we believe that that and it wasn't true I think that's a fair question Martin but I also think you have to recognize we're not being asked to believe intelligence with regard to say so the money that we can't see with their own eyes I don't believe you should discredit all intelligence nor do I believe you should trust all intelligence but with regard to solar money I don't think anybody says to paraphrase what what quite a few people have have noted solar money was not on his way to the Baghdad airport to catch a connecting flight to Paris it's not in doubt that he was the leader of the cuts force it's not in doubt the mission and and constant activity of the cuts force those things are not in doubt his role with regard to Hezbollah is I would say not in doubt I guess if you wanted this to say when he puts a recess on the death of a major on a on the the the casket of a I assume it was a casket assume I so it was a casket but at the funeral for Hezbollah leader when he bows and lays a wreath on the top you know you have to suspect maybe there's a relationship his role in Syria has been acknowledged in in in propping up Assad but through some really questionable tactics a his role in Iraq was already being talked about before that because they were showing up with signs with regard to sell the money either you know we're we're not being asked to make a connection as to what somebody's doing behind closed doors this was pretty cut and dried and solar money was in Iraq near the Baghdad airport you know that that's not where he goes for a family reunion at that's not his domicile that's not his vacation a location so I think it's very healthy for us to be skeptical of all the intelligence at Drax as into these sorts of things but I feel quite comfortable in this case that it that it was sound mon I don't know if you saw this story in the news but a lumberjack was being cross examined during a murder trial the defense lawyer trying to discredit the lumberjack as a witness asked him is it true you were working at night how can you be sure that it was a pine tree that fell on the victim and the lumber Jack replied confidently I know what I saw your listening to Michael berry show a passenger plane that crashed over alone may have been shot down more the bottom of the hour news.

"I guess but thanks for tuning in really excited ended about this show in this episode specifically in our in the media college football no more off-season no more preseason no more fluff now Rio games coming down on the wire coming down the road at you and so we're excited about it. Make sure you check out next week. As we breakdown I our first-quarter analysis which I think is the first time you can accurately accurately talk somewhat about the landscape that is college football or conferences or a team after they play a fool quarter four games and you can say all all right. Here's where they're at. Here's where everyone's at right now. It's just an indicator and precursor to where they may end up but it is you have enough of a of a portrait to analyze you have enough of a resume to look at and so we're going to do that next week. In detail too long episodes odes of analysis to give you my opinion from a former football coach of where everyone's at who who is what and not some financially based bullshit bullshit that will help earn our network more money so thanks for tuning in and let's get into the show so I I got to sound bytes for you this week. One is hilarious and one is God it just it just I was so happy to see it. Also hilarious is also hilarious so oh if anyone knows my issue with the sports media and this is going to be Colin Coward for those you the didn't hear it. Let's do a little background story there. Was this guy a quarterback Athens Ohio. Tom Herman recruited him when he was at Ohio State. Dad was a defense coordinator at Ohio University. His name's Joe Borough came to Columbus really was a grinder tough tough kid really really a good player not he came in and okay player but he's worked his ass off and he became a really good quarterback then we had two of them when I and J. T. Barrett left it was a two man battle between Joe Borough and Dewayne Haskins and I will disagree with Urban Meyer said on the show about that Dwane in one job. He didn't win the job. At least they didn't tell Joe he won the job. Joe Just Kinda saw the writing on the wall knew it was close and said you know what I don't want to risk it Joe Borough Zero quarterback via Ohio State University transfers. This is a great story. I never heard this one so he transfers to Lsu now fast forward. He's lighting it up. I mean killing it. Dwayne Haskins went on to have a great year went to the NFL first round draft pick. The helmet is also now. An inflatable helmet is not leather anymore. The football is inflated also not stuffed. I don't know what else we need to tell these people so this is Collin cowherd. Who actually I think is really good this? This is just a complete failure. I guess by his staff. I don't know why you need a staff but here's my issue sports. Media is trying to take a guy like Colin cowherd. Who's really good good and just apply him to everything and what that does? Is You become a jack of all ages of none. He doesn't really know shit about shit. He's just able to talk somewhat proficiently efficiently about everything and then you have a moment like this. Let's listen to this my Lord. I looked better than CLEMSON's. Look this year. Tell me about Joe Berle. Did you know I want your connections to him. What did you know did you know him? Did you have connections to them. Is this guy serious I mean when he said that I was like maybe he just Miss Misspoke. Maybe miss he he didn't phrase the question properly rapidly maybe he was just setting up to give an answer or something so listen to the rest of this exchange here first Lsu when I was in the SEC sec every time we played them. I remember they'd come out of the tunnel and you'd look and say how are we going to block these guys. That's the best looking team or one of the best teams Joe Borough we recruiting how state he's from Athens Ohio so right now Colin Coward going. Oh Shit no not yet no okay so let's let's keep playing. His father is a longtime. I'm a defensive coach was frank which is defense coordinator forever great family incredible kid toughest nails. He's developed into a pro prospect and I've talked to him quite often and could be more proud of with Joe's done well site. He played for us for three years and that's the moment right there. How did he get out of Ohio? That's that's the moment right there where Colin cowherd went he. He did what he he played for. You wait for three years three years like in high school with with your son Fred what listen listen to the rest of it and he moves onto to grad transfer joint haskins and Joe had the battle battle two years ago spring and it was I mean it was it was inches from who was our starting quarterback and Dwayne won. The battle. Joe Left has a graduate graduate transfer obviously starting second year. He's really he's the real deal. He's really what what he's done so well. It literally is like what why are we why that's my question to to to sports fans everywhere. Why do we accept these people? Stephen a Smith talking about Dwayne Haskins as a running quarterback Colin cowherd is talking to Urban Meyer about Joe Borough and didn't have the wherewithal to do do the slightest bit of research to find out that he played for him. I mean you're having a guest on. That was the head coach of the player. You're going to discuss with him what I think I'm thinking do I just live in a bubble in here. I like we in Columbus know about this story but no one else cause exactly all you have to do is have watched the Lsu Texas every college football fan watch that game and in that game they had to bring it up four times better. It's just astonishing to me that we we as a as a sports fan base allow this to go on. I promise you if you bring me in and say let's talk about the NBA this year. I'm going to go absolutely really not I mean I'll listen tell you that I think Lebron's really good. I'm not GonNa sit here an act like I'm some sports expert in the NBA. Not Let's talk about Dale Junior. Wait you want to talk about college football. NFL Football High School Football peewee football not flag football flag football is a different game. I'm finding out in my new ventures as a coach but any of those levels I can talk about it at an expert level you WanNa talk about baseball basketball anything else I can talk about it as a person played it and likes it but not as an expert and and this is the problem with sports media is unbelievable. I couldn't believe it when I heard it know what they're doing is they're taking these guys and it's a different world out there man they don't they don't pay attention to college football as much as the rest and so you got these. La Nba guys that came up on ESPN big time NBA analysts and there's the they had good personalities and so they're spreading them out to everything and they're saying now talk about this and if you listen to him he had nothing else to say about Lsu and Joe Borough except Oh man. He's the real deal. He's the real deal. He said three times yeah well regardless again because someone told him he's because you go to ESPN and they have they have a staff half of interns and people that write your bullets for you and then you just you just have to speak passionately speak intelligently and put on a show and you're going to read what they wrote you so god God help you if one of them wrote you that Joe Boroughs the best quarterback in Alabama history in the you say people are like what he plays at. LSU is even more so sad because cowherd is on on urban zone network Fox. I know what it's I just had to bring that up because it was so so hilarious got another sound clip for you. Are you ready for this. This one this came out the day we release the last episode and I was pissed. I didn't put it on because I had heard it right before the show but I didn't want to just throw it out there without any preparation or anything but it's still so good that we have to have to put it on and have to talk about it so this gem and in gem is a very very passive term. This is like a diamond audio clip from who is my favorite character maybe and all of society but definitely in all of college coaching but he always puts out gems now he's a national treasure and everyone knows it and I don't you might have heard this already. You're still GonNa want to hear it again. So Mike Leach was asked which mascot out of the pack twelve is the best or or would come out of fight if you put them all together who would win and I'm not even GonNa Pause it to talk about it. I just WANNA listen to the one and a half minutes that is is exquisite and then talk about it so if you eat analysis here is Mike Leach talking about the Mascot Battle of the PAC twelve schools first of all what kind of mythical powers does a Sunday will have. We got to consider that. I'm going to say the wildcats out the Trojan is he. Does he have a horse on foot. Does he have a bow and Arrow or just as soared the Bruin definitely formidable another bear up there at cal cal- the tree. I imagine that trees can get chopped down unless we're GONNA go with the burden somebody might get packed or something I don't know duck might lose interest trysted just fly away and get out of there which may be good advice under the circumstances the Husky no chance the beaver well. We'll see a long long bieber can hold his breath. the you again. We're back to izzy on horseback. Does he have a bow and Arrow. Did he trade for a rifle. I mean you know because if that you've got a rifle there's some definite problems you know you'd have to get one of those Harry Potter activists to read up on you killa the Sun Devil because there's a lot of outside stuff. They're just far as the beast alone a buffalo's going to be pretty hard to tangle angle with. I mean about a buffalo's utterly outstanding dilute any amount the cougar find a way clear minded and craft after a combination of stay out of harm's way and and in attack when you get your your chances are you're openings. I mean while that's all I can say to that is well. He is absolutely right. I can't think of a better way to break it down. I mean well. You'RE NOT GONNA you're. You're not GonNa do it better than he did it. That's for sure so that that that is phenomenal just the way his mind works and and it leads me the reason why I wanted to play it is not so you could hear it because I'm sure you heard it but a good friend of mine that is huge huge name in the recruiting side of of college football going back and forth about it and then he was like Oh that reminds me of the article from his quarterbacks and I was like what and he sent it to me I send it to you guys and you read it and I will tell you this. This is not a plug. This is not an advertisement but I I refuse to pay for news or like. I'm not paying the Columbus dispatch for a news. I'm not doing it. I did it finally for the first time and it was solely so I could read this article. The Mike Leach article that the athletic did not even article didn't write anything it is literally they asked some questions they had like ten of his former quarterbacks and they just answered the question it quotes from the quarterback I read it four times in a row it was hilarious just the tangents he would go on how mad they would get at other quarterbacks when they ask questions or just like they would have four hour meetings completely violating..

"And I goal I start and I stop with Washington state if your going to do this I want a microphone on Mike leach nonstop that's it for me yeah yeah it's either that or Alabama really in my mind because that when you at least have the benefit of the quarterback like were a place in college football right now we're thankfully we've got some marquee names a quarterback but I think people would care enough about in this but Mike legion Washington state would be the perfect middle ground because as we see will hard knocks if you get too deep and it's too serious and there's too much controversy there are going to show it right but if you've got Baker Mayfield the Browns Hugh Jackson Coches disagreeing some things that are a little more light hearted on the Richter scale it becomes interesting when you've got all these personalities of the blind is don't be too serious with it and have personalities step right up Washington exactly you've got Mike leach you don't have any controversy right there you've got a guy who teaches these strange classes and has this eccentric personality is tailor made for this well and not only that that's great for college football might lead to being on the west coast is one of the unfortunate things about and coaching in the back while we don't pay enough attention to the quote machine that is Mike leach I mean that that's what he's great at between the hair in the quotes that's all we ever want from likely so it makes a lot of sense and I you know the other side of it I I'm a little surprised that we would hear something like Alabama being considered a considered and not something that something like Clinton I mean I I I was into your point Mike of quarterbacks when you've got to a for the next couple of years and climbs in and you have dental you have sort of the the rebuilding covered that is climbs in I was surprised that the they weren't on that list too it's a good idea in my mind it's just got to be with the right personalities to make the entire nation care what what I don't think you get it listen it would be watched because college football I I think is basically right behind the NFL I mean in popularity so lately it's become more of a national brand college football thing was it was totally baseball is always very regional right the I just don't think you'll get the drama are you Hey you're getting college players you getting college players under there for a finite number of years you're getting college players that maybe we don't wanna stirring the pot or a troll who was set in his ways and secure in his job may be more willing to have a little bit of fun the college players may not as much and then depending on the organization like Alabama I think people would love to see how the whole thing runs and all you hear it and it would be almost be great to do Alabama and Clemson because of how the two programs are one both unbelievably successful one almost run like NFL style the other run a little more free and I don't guess I don't want to say that about double blue serve what we talk to Holly road you said right jabot never gonna love about their process is different it's no less effective it's just different than the NFL model exam and has the best part of that to me B. we get to watch good team yeah right what does the other part of hard knocks is because of the set up of the show were always watching bad football teams are watching van football teams go through the process of trying to get better and we're doing that with all the drama of cuts and things like that Bob you don't got guys getting caught in college you don't have a lot of those same restrictions but you would have the ability to get access to very good teams and actually watch how they operate the only thing I I am curious of is in the NFL you essentially get forced to do it very rarely does somebody volunteer to do it they won't have that same power to for somebody to do it in the NC double a so it would really have to be acknowledged as Hey we're gonna do it this year we may never do it again that's the difference though is in the unit and CW got force anybody because this is all free promotion but this is all recruiting for them this is all them put a given a choice Nick said we would do it I've been given a choice of mixtape and like he has with every other aspect of his coaching life has the level of control that would probably need to come with this I think exhibit would do it because again these guys all understand in the arms race I mean hell mixtape and dad with some recruit like okay okay let me put it this way we're next saving do it if he didn't have editorial control now god now I don't think anybody would you but he would get editorial control as he's Nick said but I think that I I would do two teams I would do crimes that I would do Alabama the two best programs in the country right now and see the differences of how these coaches run the program I think that would be fascinating if we're going to do that then I'd rather do an all or nothing that follows them all season long as that is that is the one thing that it's so interesting to go back later to watch the process of how they got there hopefully soft knocks will turn back into hard knocks but either way I'll just a minute I'll still what's next week I just I'll be mad about it but also what's coming up next Jerry Jones isn't the only owner speaking out the NFL the giants have told us exactly how they want their quarterback situation Blatt to play out you'll hear it after that all right feet aching after a long day not small so pretty either try new fatigue reducing in Seoul from order heaters they give you serious.

"And now your host Jacqueline. Away Jack Aside from being able to chat with some pretty awesome people. One of the things I love about the conversations I get to have for the lounge podcast is that I get to learn something every day every chat. Today's episode explores something I'm not overly familiar with. And you'll be able to tell and I admit it can be a little bit scary when you don't know much about it a and machine learning, not overly new but for some of us, it's a bit scary to talk about something. We only know about formerly through Hollywood blockbusters in today's show and chatting with. Anna Leach a graduate associate and PhD student at the University of Arizona and a some interesting information about the AI grand circle and some other things we should think about at a deeper level. In honor of my guest where I met her and the great time I had there I'm enjoying Cafe Americano in my starbucks, Phoenix collectors among what's in Your Cup Without further ado, let's hop into the conversation with Anna about AI and machine learning. Anna. Thank you so much for joining me here in the lounge on the lounge podcast. I'm so excited to have you in my little space. I'm excited to be here. So and I know who you are because my friend, our friend Cara introduced us and we got to meet in person in January, and I'm very excited for that. But would you take a moment and introduce yourself to the audience? Certainly, my name is Anna Leach. I'm currently a graduate associate at the University of Arizona in the Ice School I'm also studying a PhD information at the University of Arizona what does that mean well? Question right right. I get that all the time. What do you mean? You got a PhD and Information I know everything is the only other answer I can come up with. It's not true. Not, true what that means is we're an interdisciplinary school and that means that we focus on the intersection of people. Technology and information which is. My happy place and each one of us kind of focus on something different and my focus is on education educational technology and the data from education. That is so cool. And you obviously love it now you. Know we had a couple of conversations and it was just like Oh. This is so great. I wish we can talk forever we live so far away right? Thank goodness for technology for bridging those gaps, right? Exactly. Exactly. So today we're GONNA. Be Talking about something we kinda started to discuss back in January. And I thought you know this is a really great topic and something that I think listeners of the lounge podcast will enjoy but they'll also learn something. And that is to talk about ai artificial intelligence and machine learning. Because I kind of know what it is I mean I'm in the learning space I kind of know what it is and there are a lot of conferences a lot of presentations about it..

"We gotta ask you. We were talking playoffs earlier, who is the number one seed in the pirate playoff cake. So well, that's, that's a tough question. Okay. So. Well, fascinating guy. But one that I perhaps disliked the most because he was just a missions, horrible disloyal guy. And turned on his men was Henry Morgan but fascinating story, very successful, and basically, went unscathed to probably the most efficient in the finest operation with an untimely death was black, barred Barth, all me Roberts, and then the most charismatic, the most fascinating fun to watch. Of course, Blackbeard. I got in my for me either Blackbeard. Let's say that the Blackbeard and Bartholomew Roberts in the finals if, if, if, if it becomes hand to hand. The game involves where it's hand to hand. Gotta go with Blackbeard, but if they can maneuver and keep their distance. I'm going with Bartholomew Roberts. How about that? Appreciate your time. Mike leach. Make sure you give coach Leach a follow on Twitter at coach underscore Leach and yeah. You can check out all his books over on Amazon and appreciate the time coach, good luck this year.
