"Cow bell. That's when we knew we were going into the future. Back in the eighties digital digital cowbells I don't know. Just had the souls far as I was going to, uh, boy tonight. Go, hawks. You know, I'm not an expert West Moss. So you'll be watching the the the Hawks game tonight. Yeah, I don't know what I think it starts at what? 7. 30? Yeah. 7 37 30 where he is. He's in central time. Are you in central time right now? I'm actually East Coast. I'm probably right next door to you Got Oh, I thought you were. I thought you were gone on vacation or something. No, it's not. Yeah, it's at 8 30. They want me to be up as late as possible. I am not a basketball expert. I think that we need to do is we need to stop that. Janice and not Camilla. Common number, vacuum to bargain one original Take. I haven't heard that one before him. He we gotta stop Brook Lopez, No, but the honest and knock them in the bag. We got to stop that guy. By the way, The Greeks are upset about that. It's Janice. It's all that's it is. It doesn't just mean Johnny. Yeah, There's no Johnny because Giovanni is Johnny and Italian. So I'm taking G I A n n I s is John Johan. No, it's you know you're right. He doesn't get near the press that LeBron James says any I think about LeBron James wins wins Championships. That's why until he wins championships, it's true, but my kids were very big into Figures. NBA two K 19, So I don't know I I got I had a good education on who was good? Well, he's been m v P for he's had a couple MVPs, but they've kind of collapsed. In the playoffs, which were kind of hoping for you know, little help better has hey, never hurts a little help with the other team gives you a little help. I'm not saying a little bit of collapse. It all comes down to that guy is is what's his name? Middleton. Oh, yeah, Really. This is my understanding. Wes. Is this guy Middleton? Sometimes he fades in the playoffs and doesn't help out Janice a knock on my like that, that that that that, um, that does not help does not help him out. And so if he's at that, Middleton is that his name Middleton. If he's hitting his shots early, we might be in trouble. But this is what I know. Wes Moss. What I know for a fact is for most boring sports radio. If the Hawks win tonight, they'll be talking about how the box lost last night. It's got that No one's going to talk about the Atlanta Hawks until they actually win the whole damn thing and then sports radio national sports radio. Of course we're talking about around here. Ben Miller side. You know, we ought to do a segment on the Atlanta Hawks. Quite a story. But right now, I guarantee you on most sports outlets If the Hawks win tonight in Milwaukee, the story tomorrow be that the Bucks lost. Yes, we have a message from Milwaukee right here. Was this You owe about shack. He got shack Shack is the one who's putting the Milwaukee is here in this and I'm really scared. Here we come. Oh, Go, Rafer, Do you agree with me? West Moscow, Rayford? Here's what I'll tell you. A quick antidote Little story about State Farm arena and the Hawks promote the best and most persistent sales person. That I've encountered. And let's say the last year is a gentleman from the Hawks organization or the State Farm organization, trying to sell season tickets to the Hawk H and the I think I indicated some interest because my capable of basketball and I at least I said, sure, what's the price to do? I think it's like four seats. Yeah, And then And then the price came back and some astronomical number. I don't really want to go to that many games. And then I said, What kind of concerts and like, you know one person was about you know, the very few concerts are scheduled. So I really didn't want to say no. But in the back of my mind, I didn't say I didn't say no right. And and they ping me every single day. Yeah. That's that hawks 90 straight days And finally, after, like, the 90th days that I think it is evidence So you come work for me. There you go. Because this is your selling the hardest product on the planet. And now luckily, Evan has got a product to sell. Absolutely. LeBron James Slams League as Injuries Pile up in Playoffs

"The season, LeBron James criticized the NBA for condensing the off season during the pandemic. And earlier this week, he reminded everybody of that, saying That's the reason why we're seeing so many stars go down with injuries. Now. The NBA started the season just 71 days after the Lakers won the title. The league defended itself by saying that the injury rates are normal. I think that maybe they're exacerbated because these are big names getting hurt high profile players getting hurt, not just Role players. It's It's hard to look at the basketball analysis of this because the health issues what's going on. How much impacted the each of these series. But it's pronounced because this is such an even field. Now it feels like it's wide open. And with all these injuries, everybody has a chance to win a championship this year or, you know, at least get to the NBA title. Games. Um, it's wide open. It feels like the team that's the healthiest has the best chance to win it

Fresh update on "lebron james" discussed on News and Information with Dave Williams and Amy Chodroff

"Monday. We told you about Raiders defensive lineman Carl Nassib. Announcing he was gay. He became the first active NFL player to do so. Yep. And a day later. We're finding out that his jersey is the highest selling jersey now in the NFL. This is wild. This this happens, though. I mean, this happened with Colin Kaepernick to whenever someone gets in the news not to compare them in any way. No. You know, there's I'm not trying to make that comparison. But right. Okay. Tim Tebow has been irrelevant in football. For years. Signs with the Jacksonville Jaguars is the third highest selling Jersey It's like Tim Tebow. Are you serious out of? He's not going to be very all about name recognize right? So Nassib announced that NASA's he's gay number one selling Jersey He's not even really a starter. He's like a rotational defensive player for the Vegas Raiders. So it's not like a name, but this is the impact we talked about yesterday that this would have is that this would make people who may be in the closet are scared to come out and feel comfortable. And maybe those people are saying I need to get this guy's jersey. Or maybe it's just people buying it saying, like its history, Or maybe people think it's worth something. It will be worth right someday. So there, you know, buying it to hold on to it become a collector's item. By the way, I don't know if the NFL is tied this to the Jersey or not, but they have announced that they're going to match Nassib donation to the Trevor project. Oh, yeah, which is good that the nonprofit that focuses on he's even like 100 brand that progress, I said. So this in the New York Post last night and I said I had to do a double take. I'm like what I don't know if it's a bit or not, I don't know. The Harlem Globetrotter sent a letter to the NBA Monday, petitioning to join the league as its 31st team. Okay, look. I This would never work Obviously. Not not at snowball's chance, and you know what for for both sides here. Well, because they're not a serious team, and we all know that they're all skilled. If you've seen the Harlem Globetrotters and their their routine, they've obviously got talent. But it's the whole show is a bit It's a show. It's exactly what it is. It's a show. It's a show to entertain people. And they make some crazy shots like the guy spends the whole day trying to make the full court shot over his head and eventually makes it, you know. Yeah, it's always cool to white. But there is no chance one that the NBA would benefit because they make the Harlem Globetrotters be boring and too There's no way the Globetrotters would benefit because they would be able to do their stick. Yeah. I mean, I think I think the point of this the general manager's letter the point of it was saying that we have some of the the best black basketball talent. I think LeBron James has something to say about that. And he says, you know, Seattle and Las Vegas or two cities that need leagues. If the league expands that need teams. So they're saying, you know, pick me pick me or one of those cities. I just don't see that. It's a funny bit and I like what they're doing, But I'm not taking this seriously. One Can you imagine like during an NBA game if One of the Globetrotters grabs a bucket of water and pours it on LeBron James or starts throwing the ball underneath. Like like looking down his legs and stuff. Don't mess with them. I don't think you were here when the glove charters. They've come through here several times, but the air gosh, it's been maybe five years already and who was the really tall guy? He's like, seven something they cover tiny something Russian or something. And I look like an ant next to him. In fact, the pictures that I have with him it looks like he's a cardboard cutout. It really looks fake, but it's real. Which is pretty hysterical. Paul Sturgis is his name, by the way, Uh, is that the same seven ft seven watching. That's a British guy who played for the No. I think. Yeah, I think it's someone else. If I remember correctly, they called him tiny something and he wasn't so tiny, that's for sure. Coming up some thoughts with Ernie Brown, but first right now, traffic on the fives.

LeBron James to Change Jersey Number Back to No. 6

"James reportedly said to change his number from 23 to 6 next year, the number he wore during his four year run with the Miami Heat. Is this because he wants to rekindle the success of that run in Miami. Is it because He's going to don the new number in space jam, a new legacy that seems like a wild decision. I mean he's changed numbers during his career before he's worn number six before, but changing it for space jam. All right. Is this a good move? I'm going to swipe down. I hate it and look on the one hand. I always look at an athlete say where whatever number you want, But in the world of like chasing the Joneses and everybody trying to get the LeBron swag. It's keeping up with the Joneses. Probably more accurate and it's been testimony different, But, yes, you know, I think that at some point you've got to look at the cost for this for so many people that their kids are going to come in and want like my heart breaks for families. It struggled for an NBA jerseys. They're not inexpensive and I got to go out and buy all the new LeBron stuff because you don't want to get to have the old LeBron stuff because they don't want to feel dumb. Like so I just the heartbreak heartbreak for me.

"It's it takes four games to win. That the series is not over yet that the Clippers still have a chance. The chance is small. If I'm a Suns fan in my cautiously optimistic Yes, Yes, I am. I'm also understanding that damn it. Where I had The Clippers are the ones that got to bounce back. And we're in the lead here to go back to the finals. And I don't care who the Clippers excuse me my bad. I don't care who the sons have to play in the finals. They're going to have a chance, even if it's against the box. That's going to be an interesting start, you know, to be honest. Wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow night. For Wednesday night. I wouldn't be surprised if the if the Hawks one Not at all. I mean, there are people who are calling for a sweep. I don't see it. It's good to have new blood. It's good to have new matchups. I appreciate it now. I told you before I roll out of here. I need you to hear something that is pretty shady from Tom Brady. Tom Brady is going to be on LeBron James the shop. What is the shop? It's 30 minutes of athletes sitting around saying a whole lot of nothing every now and then you'll get something interesting. Well, we got an interesting clip. Because Tom Brady basically talked about his off season last year, he talked about moving on from the Patriots, and he talked about being a free agent and that there was one team in particular that he looked at. That didn't want him. This was Tom Brady. In the preview for HBO's the Shop. Listen. One of the teams and they weren't interested at the very end. I was thinking you're sticking with bad mother. There was a team That wasn't interested at the very end. I wonder who that would be? You're sticking with him. And I think it's pretty obvious. Got to be the Niners. That was really the only other team that it's public knowledge that he wanted to go to. And it's just like damn You know, we don't know, but I only assume he's talking about Jimmy Garoppolo. Jimmy Garoppolo gets no love. I'm just glad that those checks they still cash. He's a nice guy. We spoke to Jimmy Garoppolo about a month ago. Here on the Jr Sport. Brief Shaw. Phoenix 1 13 Lakers 100 C. The two seed Phoenix Suns behind Devin Booker's 47 points last night I saw he was caught on tape saying to a Laker after he made a shot, he said. What What? And then he said, Thought so. That's what he said Seven Booker. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, It was funny because the first two games of this series, he wasn't scoring at all. And it was like a big question. Is he going to show up in this series? Looks like he did. Looks like Devin Booker woke up sons first playoff series win since 2010 nice about that good for them.

"To 2. The baseball game wasn't even the most exciting part. Joe Girardi, manager of the Phillies, wanted to have Max Scherzer checked in the middle of the game. To make sure and ensure that he wasn't using any illegal substances. Max Scherzer was not happy. And the scene that we got was similar to what you'd see at an airport. When a passenger is very frustrated. That T s a is taking too long to check them out. And so that was seen was just absolutely hilarious. And we've had a fun time tonight. We talked about the future of the NBA and some of the silly comments made By Magic Johnson that whenever LeBron James is done, you know that Kevin Durant would take that over and find that to be comical there only four years apart. Career is a little bit more parallel than anything different, or that follows things up. And, of course, We've had to talk about this game. In this game between the Phoenix Suns in the Los Angeles Clippers. It seemingly took forever. The Phoenix Suns. As I told you, they 114 to 103. Two old series, Li This was a close game. This was a close matchup throughout Couple of standout performances or at least memorable moments. Devin Booker and Patrick Beverley. Just collided. They had a clash of the heads. Devin Booker is out there on the offense close to the three point line moving towards the top of the key. And boom head to head him in Beverly, their domes collide. They both go in the back. Beverly comes out with a wrap. It looks like Devin Booker is either stitched up or glued up. He has God's in his nose. And the game continues on Devin Booker, not the greatest of nights. 20 points five of 16 from the field, one of three from downtown Cameron Payne. Career high. 29 points, nine assists filling in for Chris Paul, who is still in Covid protocol. And DeAndre Ayton. He basically he didn't basically he did seal the game. The sons were down. 13 to 1 Oh 2 9/10 of a second left on the clock. It's not too much you can do. What did they do? Crowder throws An alley oop from the baseline. Two DeAndre Ayton Who goes up and slams it down. The Suns win 14 to 103. But they didn't because the referees go ahead and check the clock, seven cents of a second or left. But you know what? The Clippers can't get off a shot. They throw the ball all the way down court to Paul. George. He can't get the shot off. The game is over. A matter of fact, I want you to hear that play call here. It is courtesy of sons radio. Crowder waiting with it. Lobs.

"The start that we wanted Lakers fall to the Phoenix Suns. They they lose this one, the opener of the series, the playoffs started, but nobody told the Lakers certainly a lackluster performance. So, again, this doesn't mean the sky is falling off. This was not a great start for sure. Joining me today is Ron government and Chris the Masterpiece Masters. How are you guys holding up? The NBA Play-in and Most Enticing Playoff Matchups

"Kevin arnovitz how you doing man. I'm well how are you. i'm good. I'm kind of preemptively overwhelmed. Kevin because i'm looking at the schedule for the nba playoffs four games. Saturday four game sunday and then it sort of continues on forever as this thing tends to go. Are you already overwhelmed or you cited. Where are you emotionally. I'm well-named excited. I neither some great first round match up. So i. I think it's kind of a more interesting season. I think kevin arnovitz has covered the nba for espn. Since two thousand and eight and he has a steel trap of a basketball memory. So i wanna start with game. That is still stuck in my brain. Kevin and we had this moment where the nba even as it is variously. Well-named was sort of all gathered around television watching the same exact thing. And i'm talking about the lakers. And the warriors and what. They did on wednesday night. Because lebron steph were certified filling every kind of dramatic potential that we hoped for them to meet. James drives onto scotto anderson tax at home curry reverse with the english class. Had lebron hitting an enormous absurd prayer of a thirty four. Footer puts up the three expires after which he admitted that he was seeing like three rims. Because he'd been poked in the eye by draymond he may have been plagiarising rocky four in the process but he wins the game that way. The whole thing was insane. And what i want to ask you about. Kevin is what you thought. The phoenix suns were thinking when they were watching that game unfold. I think phoenix is oddly. Confident like i. Obviously you run a great risk when you draw. Lebron james and anthony davis but i sort of liked the way. Phoenix is approached. This whole thing

"Says he was seeing three rims as he sank a long range three pointer to sink the Golden State Warriors 183 100 in the NBA play in game it followed James being accidentally poked in the eye by worries start Draymond green, his teammate Anthony Davis after the match. First of all I didn't want you to put LeBron is on a lot more. You know, head shots like that, You know, I mean, but he's got his whole career indeedy highs and James would like to continue that legacy against the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs.

"Detroit's own chris. Webber will be inducted into the basketball hall of fame. I thought you were talking about me coming back to town all and no no. No i bet they were going wild over country. It's country summer country days country day. Yeah country day zone. But it's you know. I think it's like a mixed bag to be honest. I don't think everybody thinks he's like a lock to be in the hall of fame. I think it's a mixed bag fan. Now we are going in. And of course. Detroit's been wallace. Who was a key cog in that championship game team. He of course is the hall of famers. Divide from the people. I've talked about one. A scientific poll. But i thought more people feel better about ben being ending chris Well i'll tell you what and we'll get into this later. When i heard that been made it i was like chris. Webber has to be in. Chris was a better player and been now been had a role that was critical and he was a key cog obviously on that i call them bad boys the remix that that third championship detroit one but chris. Webber was a better player than been. But you know what better impact. They'll ben was unbelievable. He had a bit better impact on a championship team. A team that went to the finals two years in a row he won just a role player he was a big party was a role player though. No going to be in this and it's doing of ood. He was huge. All

Is Lebron's Ankle Injured Following the Lakers Win?

"We having a liberal a LeBron James update from Vogel in his postgame conference says of LeBron and his ankle. He's good to go. There are no issues with his right ankle Great. You go. That's so that that there you go, there's great news for the Lakers and LeBron just good to go. Like we said, you know there was that. I think it was one of those situations where for a moment, Braun went. Oh no, right. Right. You know, he probably used a four-letter word, right? Instead of saying, oh no, but he was probably a little bit worried for a split second and then he realized, okay, I'm good. You know, if you've turned your ankle before if you've been out there on the court and you've done that, you know, when you kind of do it a little bit and you're worried for a split second and then you realize. Okay, I'm actually I'm good. I think that's wrong with LeBron and Frank Vogel confirms. He's good to go. So that's great.

"Gonna talk a little bit. Lebron some nets you know. We're going to talk all that good stuff so the nba has been really wild. This season right. We've seen a lot of different teams. Come up like the knicks and a playoff team. They got julius randle. And derrick rose. Nick reduce the things you know. So they got the same record as the lakers. How crazy if twenty twenty one different. Wow we're going to play off. How do you feel about the season overall. Definitely some unexpected things Defending champs not being dominated this you injuries on the knicks avenue surprise only causing history. Usually say that there. S shit you. But but they're not as but you know the comes down to of greeting. When was the last time they want championship. I was like the sixties. Wasn't it like willis reed over the years. And they're supposed to be a premier franchise. Let me look at the notre quick to last time they won was in nineteen seventy three. Oh my goodness. That's almost fifty years ago. Knicks some trash and they only have to. How are they considered a premier franchise with two championships. Do we overlooked. This has every. Nba fan overlooked considering them premier because they play madison square garden. I'll just be kermit sipping my seventeen championship. T banh new york. You feel me like always better when you have never lost in la affluent. That's why i never expect seems to be trusted because the knicks have been transfer very long so happy not market drafted will. You wouldn't think they did. It also had to do with the front office putting ratio worldwide west. And leon rose there now. They've been putting together a good squad. I mean julius randle no one ever thought he was going to really blow up like this without. He pretty much reached the ceiling at this point but he has shown another level. So do you think you'd be began without people. Really saying every nominee i think is the most improved. Yes yes m or day. Inner jerry grows looking

"You know it's all worth ended today. You know it's interesting I said this I I love when an occasional Aaron Rodgers or Lebron. James is not afraid to admit, Hey, I'm pretty damn good. Everybody else talks trash why can't Lebron James or Aaron Rodgers or somebody else and when Lebron says, put some respect on my what what did you make of that? His speech after they want? It's about damn time. I've been telling him for years I said listen you the best player, the best play every played this game you gotTa Start Talking I know you denies guy and you know you don't want you WanNa make everyone. Happy. But you gotta you gotTa talk the talk you walk the walk, you WanNa Duncan, guys, block shots, and all that stuff you got to let them know put some respect on your name and that made me so happy when he said that Rachel Nichols when you interviewed him because it's the truth every time he just pressure on he makes something happen then there's another. Stat that comes out that he's not a part of and he makes it happen. So he keeps every time we a challenge. He just looks at it and takes it on and makes makes greatness out of glad. He said about time by the way players talk about the goat conversation MJ. Lebron. Oh all the time I mean I I literally have this conversation after every game, the Lakers player we're watching the last dance and it's definitely in the locker room I think a lot of guys that are playing in in our game right now current players will say they'll Lebron's abyss. Obviously, you know the friends I, have are all in their. Late Twenties Early Thirties. So we all agree. But as always that one friend or that one guy in the locker room that will that will say Jordan and. It's Kinda crazy that some guys will say Jordan because I think. You know as athletes we haven't even I. Feel like sometimes, guys don't want to say Lebron because they might have to garner next night. John Forty on them so MORE THEIR EGO, not be realistic with himself well, and I also think Lebron did some Lebron decided this year I'm going to lead the League in assists I've always said Lebron got a lot of Wilton and wilt did that at one point in his career he said I. I'm an elite elite assists and we'll led the league in assists is that wilt? Could have done. It was a little bit of a flake Lebron's not wilt and Lebron are really the only players in my life who could just decide Oh we're forwards and centers. We want to be the best passer in the League and Michael couldn't do that. Michael was the best score but I don't think he would have ever been the best passer. Look at when you look Anthony Davis. I join I from week one we were like God it's just so natural. And it speaks well to both of them because we all know Kyri and Lebron had their had their issues. But who do I what do you make the Lebron ad relationship and just how strong it feels. No, it's extremely strong very natural because it's not basketball. I? Think obviously, yes. When you have a garden, a big Man XS and Os coaching. That's easy. That's the easy thing I think will make this relationship work is the mental aspect. I mean Lebron is the best player world and it's very rare that you see a top three caliber player like Anthony Davis coming without a top three, hundred ego and I think that's why the relationship has grown so much and also you know obviously having the same agent as rich Paul. He told me when when when abroad came back to Cleveland like you guys are GonNa have success appointed time. If you guys want to championship, there's GonNa be. Guys are developing ego and there's going to be a wedge that forms on our team and and with La, he said, you know that that's not going to happen because the way. His mindset and his circle and his people obviously, we all have the same agent. So we all have this more family bomb relationship where we all just want the best thing and it's almost like if you look at when they're celebrating, it's like eighty. He's like you know what this is for my big brother I. WanNa, help be part of his legacy and not so much. Hey, I wanna be the man and this is GonNa. Be My show because at the end of the day when you play Lebron no matter if you score sixty one night or you score one hundred points in the headlines are going to be. About Lebron and if you can understand and say, you know what, how can I be the best asset for Lebron and now a obviously help yourself and helped me to help me get that big contract. It'd be the role player. So imagine all star you'll get everything you want if you just buy into that process and understand Lebron Lebron and you can be a great player in your lane. It'll be interesting I mean Rondo I thought proved me wrong I thought he was kind of washed and I thought he was unbelievable against Denver and spots I thought he was unbelievable in that game Sunday so I'm wrong on that. That's Rondo TV lights are on Rondos, the defense These guys played so well, you know. So when you look at next year, Avery Bradley can come back. They are a pretty old team I do think Casey P I'm in on ep I thought he played with guts. He's. Not. Afraid. Of any big shot so I'm in on Casey. Coups. MMA. Drives me nuts loses confidence too much. Do you think they need because everybody's going to be better next year Dallas Lucas going to be your older clippers comeback chip on their shoulder what little piece could they get in free agency in your Opinion Tristan? I think calling you know with with. The uncertainty I, think that the salary Cap Zephyr. GonNa play a big part of that. But in terms of constructing your team if I'm Rob Pelinka and I'm the front office I'm looking at Okay we won this year. So every team is in look at our roster and try to pick US apart. So I they gotta look at who they think could be given the toughest challenge next year and Obviously I've been saying this for a long time, I still think those guys in the bay area are going to be coming ready to go. Obviously, you know they've got the number two pick, which is constantly what happened in San Antonio there Dave Abrams out you go and get Tim Duncan and you come out with a bang. So I think the Lakers got to look at you know that Golden State. Warriors team and say, okay, how can we form a team that can guard them but also we've got to be able to make shots, and if we look in the playoffs, you need guys who can guard multiple position. Yeah. You're a five. May you got to be able to guard a small four? If you are a small Ford you got to be able to switch onto a big and be. Able to contain more or get cut tough contests. So I think if I'm the Lakers we got continue improving our shooting but have guys who can guard multiple position because that's what they started. Markeith Morris and a couple of those games because you got to switch it up you need guys and guard multiple positions and obviously dwight it was tough for them. Yeah. No, it's a really good point well tripton. May Not talk to you for a while because the NBA season's done, we love having you as part of Fox love when you come on my friends are always like oh Tristan's got all this. Now, my wife's always wants to know about your personal life, but I say honey that we can't talk about his personal life on the air that's not the way the game works but these great everything's great home. All right that's all I wanNA hear buddy. Continued continued success. Love having us a teammate. Thanks man. Appreciate thank for having. I love being on. Thank you. All right tristen. Now his point is it was hard to bring a dwight. Howard Javale McGee in the finals you need somebody that can defend multiple positions and remember Golden State's back. Next year you're going to have staff. You'RE GONNA have play GONNA have dream on. They'll probably have the number one they have the one or two pick. What what's golden say they have a number two pick. So then Golden State and then you're GonNa have Dallas getting better. FIRST OF ALL DENVER IS GONNA. Come back next year a now they've gone deeper in the playoffs. So Denver is gonNA come back and by the way Denver's can have home court advantage next year with noble Altitude has always been whenever Denver's good. We forget about this big advantage planet Denver's good teams are always really good at home. Utah's GONNA get healthy. They got banged up member Donovan hurt his wrist that's just the West. In. The clippers are GonNa come with the IRS so. Having durant is back next year guys. Yeah. So it's in all those Miami young kids they're all better..

"Aw. It's been four years in San Francisco. Forty Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick first to Caen in response to police violence against black people me ultimately is to bring awareness and make people know realize what's really going on in this country. There are a lot of things that are going on their unjust people aren't being held accountable for, and that's something that needs to change that message from two thousand sixteen resonated last night across the professional sports world when players from the. "Win wanna get that record? Lebron James is chasing something greater than player of the month. Couldn't you argue though that we need both. None really. I mean, you don't wanna just unplug sometimes and watch tooth fairy. Never. Does need a light movie every once in a while while the light movies, a hangover's hysterically funny? I'm not saying I don't like comedies. There's never been a point in my life. I thought you know, what I want? I want to spend seventy bucks on popcorn tickets and watch tooth fairy revenue was the level of every movie I'd go to the movies more. The problem is half the movie stink. Now, I just stay home. And wait for vice to come out on you know, on at home, and I'll watch it my finger. We go to the movies a lot. But I mean, I think that you need balance and everything so you have the Russell westbrooks stats and then make it exciting during the regular season. And then you appreciate the guys like MJ and LeBron who win the championships in a different category. I just think everything can be the same and one one. It depends on what you're motivated. But I think in sports it's about winning. I agree with this you, and I have gone back and forth on this a lot. I prefer championships MJ. Even championships. It's not just you prefer team you prefer. We over me. Because sports is about a collaboration a community a unit you're building together a momentum. Right. I don't think basketball's better with Russell Westbrook shooting twenty eight times and shooting forty percent. I think the Westbrook now who's this tribute or still can't shoot Oklahoma city's better the games better. It's a better example. Like, I think Westbrook's game now is about winning and he still can't use his plus minus is the fourth best on his own team. Right. I think like even with will and Bill Russell when you use as examples when we look at Wilt Chamberlain. We talk about his career in a fun way. You know, he's still someone who contributed to the game. He still put up incredible numbers. You just put Bill different category winning category. Listen, I got I liked the rock. The raucous. James harden was I would watch him play like to your point. If harden was in town tonight. I go on. I just think that there needs. There's always a sports is entertainment. Right. There's always this'll be a balance and everything. But I don't really think that I think the NBA media tends to fall in love with the less relevant stuff and not pay attention to the more relevant stuff. There's too much fan. Boy. Yeah. We know. I don't think we do a show. I think our show is the wet blanket side, we try to balance things out. But of course, everyone gets excited and attracted to the new funding interesting thing, and that tends to be at the patriots in the warriors like winning gets boring. Because it's consistent. You know? I went yesterday. I got a physical physical yesterday. This is just a minute of wasted time. But I have to say about this. So I go to get a physical, and you know, it's just not that much fun. They're poking and prodding and stuff, and you know, whatever. And then I get my blood test at the end, and and so I just closed my fist, and I turn away. I don't mind giving blood give it three or four times a year. I don't wanna watch it. And I'm sitting there talking to lay blah, blah, blah. And then I turned over to the right is like six vials of blood over there. One of my vampire, what's happening to me. See guy you six vials. I'm exhausted today. I mean, not be able to do the third hour who gives orders that blood going? I don't I don't know. Where's all that blood going places in labs and make sure that you know, you're you're good comedy. How much do you need? I that's what I don't understand. Don't. They just use like one little draw draw on the input one drop in a slide. You literally no my levels of rival Flavin. You know, my I mean, you know, everything about me six vials a blind. It does seem excessive the amount of blood that they need for for one little seems like a lot..

He's got rings. Every megastar that has played that has done a purple and goal has won a championship. They've delivered a championship to LA. You don't wanna be LeBron James Peter one failed to do that. You just don't wanna do that. That's not what you want here. If you all abroad, James, what you wanna do is you wanna make sure you deliver that and I don't mean delivering it by doing what you normally do in terms of dropping twenty seven night even necessary to understand that over the next four years, anything positive that happens to LeBron for the Los Angeles Lakers. "Either that or he was at some damn race track on some bond messing with horses. What basketball. So let's just call it what it is when you are members of lake nation, and the residue of that reality is still fresh in your damn nostrils how dare you. Treat LeBron James, like there's something he has to earn you lucky. He's here. This is all ready to be a LeBron James star in a walk of fame right now for the solar express reason that he came and he arrived in LA. That alone. That alone. Support LeBron James in that stratosphere. You owe a debt of gratitude because he has made the loss Angeles Lakers instantly relevant again, that's what he has done. You need to take heavily thought a matter of fact, there's only people like me and others that to cover him there Lake Erie. That's having attitude with him. And that was from the last four years. That's the past. That's the pay fast. I got nothing but love for LeBron days right now. You know, we go. So let's just make sure we clear about that. Now, having said, all of that, I will say this and this is something that's very, very important that everybody understands. When we talk about LeBron James and we talk about the notion of pressure. Okay. This keep things in it's proper perspective. The broad James has to deliver a championship in the four years that he's going to. He's committed to the Los Angeles Lakers. There's no other way around it. We realized that any way we want to, there's no way around it. LeBron James has to win a championship. You size it anyway. You want the broad. James has to do that. Laser gentleman right now. Elgin Baylor has the most NBA finals losses with eight. He was all for eight. Oh, for eight. The year he retired. Is the year the Lakers won the championship. He retired midseason. Jerry West is second on this. The wonderful Jerry West, a basketball savant that his Jerry West, the consulted, the Steve Balmer, the owner for the Los Angeles Clippers that Jerry was that Jerry West, who bought a way has a legitimate shot of getting a while Lennon to come to the clippers next season that do. Carey was has eight finals MBA loss to, but he won one. He went to nine. MBA is lost eight. Eligibility went over eight. They gentleman, you know who's third on that list. Donate listens, LeBron James. But I'm here to tell you right now. Forget the six NBA finals losses. Forget it doesn't matter. Let me tell you why. It's so pivotal for LeBron James to win a championship as long as he's in LA. Because every more key major superstar who's ever won the purple and gold other than Elgin Baylor has won a championship. That's what. Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul. Jabbar have four NBA finals losses, but magic one, five rinks Kareem one, six. And both of them one championships with the Lakers we'll Chamberlain only has two championships and six NBA finals. Appearances on his resume will Chamberlain. Has to rings one was with the Lakers..

"In with the details and you get the details, right. Imagine if you. We're talking with LeBron James, the greatest basketball player ever. I know there's people right now who here one more thing I say, you're so cranked up, but relax because it's true. Imagine if you're talking about LeBron James and you said to LeBron James, what kind of socks do you? What brand of socks do you wear in a game? And imagine if LeBron James looked at you and said, I don't know. That's a good question. I never really thought about it. I just when I need some. I just tell my wife and when she's at target. She picks me up a couple of pairs. You'd be like, no, I think you're pumpkin me because you and I both know I don't know why we know this, but we just know that LeBron James knows exactly what kind of socks he wears. I assume he's tried every kind of sock that he can. And I soon he has died in the precise socks that he wears because the man is trying to perform at the highest possible level. And socks matter when you're trying to do that, especially at the age of thirty three when you've now come to Los Angeles. Thank you. So you and I in stink. Tivoli know that he doesn't take the socks, things casually that he. He is wearing the best possible pair. And the reason why I find that interesting is because at that level when you're performing at that level, the details matter and what you see in Torah here, what you see in Leviticus is that for everybody, everywhere. The same thing is true, which is why those makeover shows. They go visit Larry in Georgia and say, essentially, Larry, your socks matter and they get a trash bag and they take all his old nasty socks and they put it and they take it out to a trash bin and they go and they get him fresh socks, right? You've seen this honor times because what's true of LeBron is what's true of Larry in Georgia..

"Pay their superstars way less than the market value they wanna keep some of that money that otherwise paid a brown they want to keep that for themselves and in fact it's actually illegal under antitrust laws for owners of other businesses to collude about south salaries the way that owners of nba teams do but the nba like other sports leagues got itself exempted from these antitrust laws but it's not just colluding owners are the ones hosing lebron james his less talented teammates are hosing out of his money as well so remember these salary cap rules that came about as part of the collective bargaining agreement between the owners and the nba players union itself here is our other economists kevin greer will the union is is union votes on contracts by majority rule right so we would think if it's like majority rule that it would be the guy in the middle who would be the crucial voter right if you could line if you pick pick an in a thing like salary cap in line everybody up for who wants it the most versus who wants at least it would be the guy right in the middle of that distribution of players the medium player what are their interests and the answer is the medium player the non superstar they don't want all the money to go to lebron james either they want some of that money for themselves so when i think about this mike miller like one of lebron james teammates chances are even a casual fan knows about lebron james probably you've heard of lebron's superstar teammate dwayne wade but mike miller no one outside of a hardcore basketball fan really knows who mike miller is and he's a good player is an excellent shooter he plays pretty good defense but in a non salary cap world he probably wouldn't be making nearly six million dollars a year which is what he's making now in a non salary cap world teams would probably wanna pay lebron james a bit more and mike miller a bit less so perhaps an even bigger reason the ron james teammates really like this crazy system of the salary cap in the draft is that expands the total number of jobs and here might be instructed talk about my washington wizards do we have to unfortunately i think we did ok okay because it's possible that.

"Let me shift to this so kobe bryant head one of those quotes that you see on plaques it like hallmark he had one of these quotes yesterday about lebron james and it kind of cracked me up because it was one of those things that you see on a plaque and i've always been sort of suspicious of plaques kobe said about lebron you just gotta figure out a way to win and we've all seen those cool plaques at like cvs barnes and noble hallmark you know dream it believe at achieve it it's one of my favorites there's no there's no elevators to success you gotta take the stairs let's be honest kobe and i do like you but if there was going to be a plaque here's what kobe's plaque should be keep your friends close and the greatest coach of all time closer if you start looking at lebron kobe's winning percentages and i went and did the homework this morning and i liked kobe lot but let's start looking at winning percentages lebron's one sixty seven percent of his regular season games kobe sixty two lebron's thirteen in on the first round kobe's thirteen and three lebron ten and three in the second round kobe's eight and five lebron nine one in the eastern conference finals koby seven and one of the western conference finals the only place koby who had shack is better is where kobe's five and two in the finals and the bronze three and fixed finals and let's be honest right now lebron james is facing arguably the greatest dynasty ever.
