"Yeah yes you mean to take off on. Must be the music right the money that he said it must be the music speed. That's right diaz turning them over the money. Yeah of course but all hit songs. Yes remember to video. I love the video but all music aside prime time was is a top five defensive player ever no doubt but asked me a better question than that top one. I said five. Can you go. were you go three. Yes i will. No doubt what lawrence taylor lawrence taylor dion. Who's who you got through. That's right deanna. Have second behind lawrence taylor. I got dion sanders. One lawrence taylor. Two and then three is tough. I can say the guys. I've seen that i'm like. Ooh maybe it's him. I'll say ray. Lewis bruce smith reggie white out And my nissim. Jj watt down and then by the way rivas for a while. There was just impossible terry in his prime. Yeah yeah but i'm trying to think. Is there another linebacker. That i say like lt is in a class by himself. I put dion sanders. And if we're choosing teams. Like i got this guy. Got this guy right all time. There are a million interchangeable quarterbacks. Fine you got brady. I got montana got rodgers. I'm homes right. But whoever gets lt and dion sanders. No one liked those two guys. They're just different. In fact i would say the all time greatest defenders. There's really a top two and then there's a little hairs difference between those top two guys and everybody else lt. One the to act like it got to say stephen and cleveland. You're on the max kellerman show. Espn radio hello. yeah i would. I don't know why you don't buzz him. You guys are the ones who said was in cleveland. I was wondering what is doing. Cleveland go ahead. I was wondering i was like. Is that better for me. what's up. Hey yeah so how was it. Brings back the mets thing. Don't get me wrong. I want to run up the mets. Sorry yes yes. Everybody's ride of picked up another pitcher. We all you know would that he should have picked up a pitcher. But at this point you know with the padding the way it is is it a business move on his part. I mean the guy. Fourteen million or billion whatever on wall street i you know. Maybe he's not trying to throw good money bad money. I mean the guys head over to could be the. The mets pitching has been snake bit in recent years. The talent has the top shelf. Talent has been injured. And that's the danger in pitching nowadays in the modern game. You want to invest in a ton of high powered arms. Because it's really like everyone's getting tommy john. Everyone's pitching arm is falling off. Because everyone's five and now they're all throwing as hard as they can you know for five innings sixteen innings if you're lucky and it leads to arm problems like the average fastball. Is when i was a kid. If there was one dude on your staff who could hit ninety five semi regularly with his fastball. He was a flame thrower nowadays. Everyone's one hundred miles an hour. So when you build your team around the idea that you have these like high high high.

"Numbers are shackling. But it's a very different path. You out to california to begin training camp this week and steven jones says the team is quote pumped up. He also called it eight. Build up to the season for their fans and that the players are also ready to make a statement and take the next step shannon. Do you believe any. Or all of what stephen is saying here. Stephen team i believe stephen jerry or more than the actual team to actual player to be a part of hard. Not just another opportunity. This is free product placement free advertising. Free whatever you wanna call this for the dallas cowboys. I'm convinced now at this stage of jerry jones career he's more concerned with commas than lombardi's because he does everything he possibly can to make sure the senate pretension because if not like the other jumping down it's like everybody else was sitting on their hands. Ingenious people would like stop to pick me pick me. We want to be we do we do we do it. It's like anybody else. We pick me pick me about what to do hard dog. Okay cowboy hugh stevens they were told to be on hard knocks. You take months. It doesn't take much to convince dog. Eat a state you do. Put it out there. And he's eating okay cowboys. Y'all hard not sure sure hard knocks is not gonna make you better or worse. If you'll put your best book board to get an opportunity to see some guys personnel exigency. See what type of personality mike has. I'm to you know. I'm sure they're gonna highlight that it. His recovery is going to be a big theme at ripely and rightly so skill. But all i know is this but that was cowboys last. You're allow six thousand one hundred eighty three yards which was the second most they allow. Four hundred and seventy three points was the most and the cowboys been existence. There's one thousand nine hundred sixty. You know that you've been like i have. They've been teen six in bombs. They have five super bowls. Thank you very much teams that we hard nuts and made the playoffs. Kabul will be so. I agree with every word that steven jones spoke for once because i believe that he gets that this team needs hard knocks to it's potentially super bowl launching pad. Stop using that word. I just had to throw it out there and again. I'm not picking him to win the super bowl. But i think this team is made for hard knocks starting with the rookie. Class your man. Mike parsons you loved him as the best defensive player in the draft. He's now talking like he's the next lt. And how i'm talking about lawrence taylor lawrence. And the i hope he is your backyard. Butch thank you very much. We'll maybe as kelvin round. Pick out of kentucky. By way of lsu he already has a rapping career under the name boss man fat. I wanna see him on hard knocks. Because i think he will take it over. I wanna hear dak talk about his new deal and his new foot that he's gotten repaired. And i i wanna see zeke's new physique because pitchers obscene he looks great and he back it up and run to his physique. I don't know. I wanna see lamb talking about emerging as the number one receiver on my team. Its team made for hard knocks. And it's a team that he talked about stephen being hardened by hard knocks i think the attention will be the spotlight will be so bright during hard knocks. What is it for weeks of that. Yes that that it will actually mold them into a better team going forward and launch. What could be a deeper playoff run. Well considering a lot of you guys have not been vaccinated. You'll follow the twenty new protocols at some distance from the lombardo. And i thought when i first heard what michael urban when he was ripping the cowboys yesterday i turn to my wife ernestine and i said i wonder if that's going to hurt them on hard knocks can make it a little trickier for hard knocks to be involved right. All the camera people are vaccinated. I hope so but the point is that it's going to be harder to get the tea together. Yes like to have team meetings and that sort of the thing was on the field where you have okay office vaccinated player over here. He be vaccinated but that could be another theme on our knocks. But here we go just so you know it's not going to be the reason you guys not make the best other reasons the reasons all we have to go there months to there. I promise you see. Jaanus is our thirty two points and thirteen rebounds in the finals and has a chance to close out the series in front of his home fans. Ten night shannon. What's the line. And what's the score. Thirty thirty two and fourteen and they win. He deserves the finals. Mvp thoughts are going to need a performance from eight like they got game one and what they got from chris paul so basically they need to bring game one what they got from three book in eight and they need to bring that type of performance in game six. I don't know if they got it. In upscale. i agree. I say again. Run circles around eight and he out hostels them. He outplays him and he gets his final averages which are thirty two thirteen six and he stands amid the confetti as the finals. Mvp do you say that why they're going back to female because you don't have any painting. Scott postal sixth man. Scott foster tonight. Tonight i wanna just want to be a good game. Just let it be a good game with no controversy. Because i don't want you to come here tomorrow. Say they'd wonder if game if anybody officiating otherness got balls so it's only it's only the big three You can book it. This is a phoenix win the other way around all right could we see is some confetti in milwaukee tonight we will be all over it tomorrow. Morning is enjoy game for undisputed calling enjoy or next with her thing..

"You. You know across the front if you've got guys that are attacking certain gaps. You know there's certain places he can't go so you can kind of take a calculated. Guess where you need to be or where the quarterback ski escaped lane is GonNa be and Kinda beat him to the punch so much of over you talked about it's been about pass rushing getting after the quarterback and those things but the complete has also able to set the edge factors against a run so when you look at the great ones if you're talking about a great defensive in what does it take to be a guy that also is able to stop the room. When it comes to running outside? I would say just depending on what the coverage is like for me. It was always depending on the coverage. We didn't really do much corner force where the corner hat to force it was either me or Rodney Harrison or mere lawyer Malloy. It was the outside linebacker or was the the strong safety who said the edge so for me. I understood that when I had forced I made sure I gave myself enough space. I didn't get too tight. I was able to take care of the gap that was responsible for by pushing the tied in or the tackle in that gap but also keep my shoulder free and and keep my is my head and is on the outside where a lot of edge guys get in trouble is when a back starts to play inside and they look in a peak and then alignment seals them and then back pops out mutton always be the aggressor always be guy to attack so I would fly off the ball and I would bang the tied in and I was started manhandle him or the tackle and I would set in established myself outside John Already. I want it that back or whoever to see me outside to let them know right away you can't get outside the force taking care of they'll stop their feet immediately and then they're trying to find another gap or they're trying to go back inside and then that's when you got guys coming from the opposite sides so for me it was important and taking pride of setting the edge we always say was I wanted to be dominant and I wanted them to know and see me flash that way. They think that that gap is not available. I love that <hes> willy if you're looking at this current group of guys and we use the phrase teaching tape all the time if you're gonNA take cut up and take them to some high schoolers and say okay. This is the guy that you wanNA emulate and you WANNA study is there is their name that comes comes to mind amongst all these great pass rushers. We have right now. Well there's gotTa Allen You got Gary. You got you got a bunch of good guys. I think even Ferguson's there's a bunch of guys that are in this draft that are really explosive talented. <hes> edge rushers and could be great. Ed Ed stoppers run stoppers but the common denominator like I said D._J.. That always find always see is they don't use their hands they go into the blocks with their elbows or their shoulders and they get locked up for Ross. Teach these young guys always teach him like a boxer. You keep your hands up always keep your hands here ready to attack because lyman liked to load they liked to load their hands. They take those big steps and then they bring all that power and they get into you and they grab you so if your hands are here and you see the play coming in you shoot. It doesn't matter how strong alignment is doesn't really matter you already have the leverage already. Have your hands inside. You attack the test plate. Now you have the leverage now you you have control so you dictate where you go versus. Now you're fighting trying to get his hands off you and when the boggles outside or whatever you can't get off the black it's over. It's only a matter of seconds before the guy sees it and gets outside and move like plays happened happened so much faster in highschool than college college than the pros that you don't have that much time so the lost art with all this in my opinion with these young players is their hands. There's not enough coaches teaching these players to use used their hands shoot their hands. Use Your hands as a weapon and it helps you so much because it gives you the advantage in Iran game and in a passing game you know in thinking about two of the premier Russia's in the League von Miller and you have Khalil Mack Two guys that have been very productive but have different styles von Miller. You talked about his speed his get off talk about Khalil Mack in how common is it for a power Russia to be able to accumulate two sacks and the numbers and he's been able to do yeah I minutes incredible with him. He got his hands are like stones. You know here's a powerful guy but he is fast to he's explosive. He just more powerful so he uses a little bit different. When you watch him rush he's GonNa hit you with the power but he's also agile and versatile enough to get off and make moves off of that so his initial shock is he's coming off speed power explosiveness? He gets into you he gives you that initial shock and you see those was lyman trying to trying to catch themselves and then he's off making a play. He's getting rid of them. He shedding and this is a guy who played linebacker. You know if I remember at Buffalo so he made all pro at linebacker and at defensive and so it just shows you the level of athleticism and the athlete that he is what he's able to do but that's rare you don't find a lot of guys that that that's so explosive that so athletic that that is so powerful and when you look at his leverage leverage that he plays with his bend and the power that he generates through his been as he's taking his first two or three steps is pretty remarkable Willie last question for me and and just kind of as you follow the game as closely as you do and you see the evolution of the Arpaio's you see a lot of this college game kind of seeping into the N._F._l.. Or the balls getting out it's going to the perimeter. What should we look at what should change changed from an evaluation standpoint? We're looking at guys coming off the edge with how the game is changing and what it's GonNa look like maybe five ten years from now. I think the big word is hybrid right. We always talk about these hybrid players player that are able to do a lot. <hes> you could be in edge rusher one play and this is good for defensive coordinator and people that are scheming as well when when I value not look players I'll talk about a couple of different things we all look at pass rushers in the first thing we say a sacks right we look at all these guys that get dragged through on the edge all he had all these sex but what about the run game two teams that are winning the super bowls they run the football as well. They do a good job at it. So I WANNA player that on third down like me and Mike variable days we could put our hands in the dirt and we turned into a natural defensive end because his pass rush rush and we're coming off the ball and we can play the run if a team tries to run a draw or something off the board then on first and second down or eleven personnel whatever when they bring in maybe a speedier receiver and you have to drop in coverage or you know the backs and title you're able to cover those guys in space. How do these guys move in space? Stand him up work drills. Get them in space and see how it works. They tried that with today. viane cloudy didn't really work as well. They're talking about doing that with Gary. I'm not sure that's going to be a good thing for him as well no he's athletic and I know he runs well but it's different when you're covering and you're covering ground. You're covering zones. It's different movement. You gotta be able to flip your hips. You gotta read a quarterback. It's quick the ball comes out quick. These receivers are fast learning how to jam where to be and then also played a run from in-space so I'm looking for guys that are able to do a lot of different things if I need them on first and second down if we're playing certain coverage where we gotta Banjo back which means the linebackers got a man we got the tight ends and backs he he's able to do that. He runs a really well. If I the second down I need them to hunker in six technique over the tight end or five technique over to tackle and be stout enough and played a run in the edge he can do that. Can you rush off a first second down of course but I'm looking for a guy was first versatile enough to do all those different things and it's hard to convert parcells did it with me because he started early. I guess I was athletic enough to do it but he told me right. When I came in you're going to do everything you're not going to be a pass rusher? You're gonNA cover and you gotta learn it that I want to hear excuses than I was the end of it like I I was like all right but it was one of the hardest artist things I've ever had to do but that may more valuable to my team because I didn't have to come off the field ever when we went to go line became that outside linebacker on edge you know when it was eleven personnel or whatever and I need to walk out on number two I was good and coverage <hes> when we had to rush it was third down. All I did was put my hand in the dirt and I was coming off the edge first and second down runner Pasaden- really matter I could play every play and I think right now. Certain earn players are in in a certain we only use them one there one dimensional. There's not a lot of great outside linebacker slash deans or the Word Elephant Type Players Dad can do it all and I think and that starts at the lower levels. We don't ask them to do those things we put them in one position and we tell them to go but if we start training them early enough dale start using their feet they'll stand up. They'll be more comfortable in space. They'll understand Dan that the more they can do the more viable they will become to their teams c conversation that you just had about guys being complete player standing up and doing all those things I'm really surprised you would never my teammate and I'm surprised you would never my teammate and in college because the greatest player that has ever done it was Lawrence Taylor Lawrence Taylor being a d. n. outside linebacker so I want to take you all the way back to nineteen ninety-three and I think we came to Anaheim and we played Carolina Play U._S._C. Class and and I just wonder we go if it anytime during that game when we're kinda running up and down to feel did you ever regret and I want to be a tarheel..

"Of the best of rob gronkowski back. When he was drafted that was in the Commissioner actually hung around for around two. He doesn't do that anymore. Forty second. Pick was rob gronkowski back in two thousand ten nine NFL seasons. Chris, and I agreed. But best tight end in NFL history. Also, a character a one of a kind in that because we are milking the rob gronkowski retirement for everything it's worth especially as it relates to our daily drafts. That is the subject of today's draft the NFL all time unicorns guys that who who are one of a kind that. We will never see again we've never seen before. This could go a lot of different directions. Chris we we could say you're an NFL unicorn to a certain extent. But I don't know that either of is going to pick. You know, are we are we are we both on the same page as to what we're getting at don't want any excuses after I destroy. No. I mean, I've been dominating the drafts lately to such an extent do you guys? I mean the way I dominated you and big cat last week. There's been a few drafts lately, it's just been a landslide and e. A lot lately your third round picks have been like not even within the confines of the draft. So you've lost a lot of these through default. So I'm looking forward to you screwing this up and me dominating once again. One thing that you think that you can glean from big cat is that just saying you've won the draft over and over again, we'll make people think you won the draft. It may work for him. It just doesn't work for you. It's not persuasive. You don't have that force of personality to make it stick. But you do have the force of personality in place to win the record toss you will call tales because we have established without a shadow of a doubt, the tales never fails. Except when it does. So Chris picks tales. Let's see what tales tales tales one of these days. We'll flip the coin and one of these. Is. All right. Go ahead. Hey, gronk tag be very imaginative and creative and take rock. So we can move on to the rest of the don't tell me what they do. Okay. Okay. All right. I know what I wanna do. First of all the first pick of this on to me is like this is a slam dunk unicorns. I mean, it's it's Bo Jackson. That's the first guy. I'm going here. I mean, Bo Jackson is an all time NFL unicorn. I mean, we've never seen anything like him in really in the least my lifetime. As far as sports are concerned. I mean, this is a guy that had the talent to be an major league baseball MVP center fielder. Awesome in the outfield. Get hit home runs could beat throws out to first base had an unbelievable arm could break bats over his legs or his neck. And then you got oh, I'm done. I'm done with baseball. Let me just go play a game this weekend in the NFL. And I'll be the best player on the field with the running back position. And all run over the Brian bother BAAs. Of the world. If you're watching TV, you know, run to the right and cut back the other way and run over three guys. And then outrun everybody for fifty yards kind of an easy pick to me. Bo Jackson growing up, you know, with the just do it ads, and you know, all the Bo Jackson stuff such special special person. And the athlete is really what I want to say. But to me that is an all time unicorn, I don't know in this day of special aid. Specialty sports kids are growing up now and playing only one sport as they grow up, and we saw a guy in Bo Jackson who was at its highest level in two of the three. Biggest sports our country loves and watches on TV. The most. Yeah. But who cares about baseball? This is about all-time NFL unicorns. I don't care if a guy played baseball. How many thousand yard seasons at Bo? Jackson. How I don't know. I don't really care where you've really done a lot of research on this. None would be the very the first four weeks or five weeks of the season. Yeah. It's hard to get two thousand yards. I don't care. He's still a unicorn the fact that he could come off a baseball diamond. And then automatically without taking one snap. Get on a football field and go I'm one of the two or three best running backs in the NFL right now. And I haven't even I haven't had a week of practice yet. Shut up, and you know it. Go ahead. You're you're you're in the right church, but the wrong pew. But I'm not gonna take the guy that I think is the more appropriate unicorn from that standpoint, I'm gonna go with one of the all time greatest players we have ever seen. We will ever see a guy who was a sixth round draft. Pick who many think did a deal with the devil to get to the point where he has become who he is. And he is playing into his forties. And just because Tom Brady is going to be forty two when he plays this year. People are thinking all these other quarterbacks are going to play into the forties now, guess what? Folks, they're not they make it to their late thirties. We're seeing drew Brees start to break down. We're going to see other guys start to break down. And Tom Brady is I still operating at the highest possible level. We aren't seeing any signs of slippage. He's gonna make it to forty five and possibly beyond if that's what he chooses to do. And we're never going to see it. Again. We think it's the new normal, folks. It's not appreciate this while it lasts. This is a guy who has defied all the odds. He's defying father father time, and he's gonna keep defying father time. And when it's done it's not going to be. All right. Who's next because there isn't going to be in next. There isn't going to be a guy who plays longer than he does. And I know George Blanda played until he's like forty six or forty seven but he wasn't playing quarterback anymore. He was a kicker Tom Brady one of a kind A true unicorn, although we get to enjoy him for twenty years or more. He is a guy. We're not gonna see replicated even though so many people think it's just a matter of time before we find another Tom Brady. Okay. I mean, I I don't agree. I mean, we're drew Brees is a gear younger. He's playing within the NFC championship game this year. I mean, I don't even understand that you just lost the draft pick. That was horrible horrible. Absolutely crazy next pig. Brady's awesome. We know that there was slippage at the end of the year. Okay. We talked about it for about five weeks straight at the end of the was injured. Injure. You know, why because he's forty two. He's getting old. So there's slippage right? Exactly. Holy crap. You pick Tom Brady is a unicorn. He's awesome. We're never going to see another Tom Brady. You are so determined to trash pick. While not trashing Tom Brady. It's kind of comical to see you clumsily walk that line. Their car will end who's your second round. Okay. Second round. But you just lost the draft anyways. Okay. We're going Lawrence Taylor. That's my next unicorn Lawrence Taylor come on. I don't know. First of all this is where you start with Lawrence Taylor Lawrence. Taylor was drafted in one thousand nine hundred eighty two okay here, we are thirty. What is it? Thirty six years thirty seven years later, and if we did the draft right now and Lawrence Taylor was coming out. He'd still be a top five pick. I think that speaks to the ultimate unicorn -ness of what he is. Because he was so ahead of his time. People are still looking for that Lawrence Taylor type of guy. And I don't know we really still to this point seen guy would the size speed power combination. That Lawrence Taylor had let alone the ferocity which he played and we're going to go out there like a bunch of crazed dogs. Have some fun. I mean, come on. We don't see any psycho personalities like that in the NFL. And of course. Yes. I don't know the unicorn NIST that we're talking about also goes into the fact of the things he did off the field and the personality. He was I don't know. We're gonna ever seen anything like that ever again either. I mean. Yeah. I remember seeing Lawrence Taylor after games when I was growing up, and he'd be wearing black leather pants and a matching leather shirt. I mean that's unicorn in itself. But am I correct? I mean, this is Lawrence Taylor. And I'm pretty sure he's the last defensive player to win the NFL defense MVP award to correct about that. Or am I wrong on that one? You're correct about that in one thousand nine hundred six eighty six Alan page and seventy one Mark Moseley wanted to thank you for one thousand nine hundred eighty two I will not be picking Mark Moseley with my next selection of that's for damn sure there are guys like LT still floating around they stand out more the vont has Bertha CT has that rough and tumble attitude. You know, one of the things. That made LT so special is he was able to do all those things off the field that other players couldn't find a way to still play at a high level route doing that's what made it amazing and a unicorn in a good way a unicorn in a bad way and some of the traits you'd like to see replicated some of the traits Lawrence Taylor. You never want to see ever again. All right. I'm going with the guy that you should have taken right out of the gates. And and if you're going to talk about a guy who played two sports at a high level how about the guy who made it to the NFL hall of fame because he was healthy enough to play a full career and did play football and played baseball. And primetime turned turned the corner back position into a marquee position in the NFL before Dion Sanders. It was just kind of like, okay. Those are the guys who cover the receivers he turned it into a flashy Hollywood type of a figure he created a larger than life personality. He was a kick returner. He was exciting. He was electric. It's been years since he's retired. It's been years since he was in his prime. There's no defensive. Back out there that is anywhere close to what Dion Sanders could do. And I don't think there's going to be to be like that anytime soon if ever so Dion Sanders the guy you should've taken instead of PO Jackson. I'll take now with the second pick in round two. Yeah. No, I'm not gonna argue with you there. Yes. That was a close one. Certainly I almost went with Deion Sanders and round two. But I went with Bo Jackson who was already the two sport athlete, and I just didn't wanna do it for fun purposes. Go back to Dion. But you blew it so bad with your first pick. It doesn't even matter. So all right. That's all you got. Deehan was awesome. Any was flashy and fun. And I I mean come on he showed up at the combine in a fur coat random forty and said peace..

"The fan. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six is a telephone number. Let us go to Dave and Hawthorne next year on the fan. David. Dave good morning. How are you? Good morning. David. How are you? The nail on the head with calling him a generational talent. The the training of all that is what I think makes most difficult on top of dalit yet. You could say the off the field stuff maybe a little bit. But in terms of actual talent. I mean, really better than. On top of it. You have a running back that I've really been more confidence saying they generate. Manning out there, again, I guess my issue is it is before you trade Odell the fact that you have a couple of other good receivers decent tight end generational talent. At least give it a try with another quarterback one. And a feel like attaching to ally Manfred has done more to hurt this team. To help it in the later years here because. Give it a try with another quarterback for you say. All right. It's not gonna work. So instead, they they end up with another year of Eli manning. And you've walked the player that power. And why is as good as they clump? Yeah. Well, you know, again talent doesn't necessarily translate to wins. It doesn't necessarily translate to putting up big numbers in terms of number receptions, and all that kind of stuff. So look. I don't think they got a bad deal here. They got a safety. Who's serviceable maybe not as good as Landon Collins. But serviceable and they got to draft picks. And if they can turn those draft picks into productive players, and golden Tate, although I don't think he's as good as Beckham can put a nice solid numbers. And I think he said it best himself. You know, I'm not here to replace anybody. I'm here to be myself. And do what I do. So if he can stay healthy. And I think the thing that bothered me about that more than the stuff that he did off the wall. Punching. Stuff on the sideline all that kind of stuff. Was his injury situation. He got hurt his ankles. He didn't like to drink water. So he got the hydrated in cramped. Okay. Now. There's no way you can predict the future and say that he's gonna have missed four or five games every year because he gets hurt and he's prone to that. Or he gets cramped and MRs quarter when they need him because he hasn't drunk enough water, but those are factors you gotta throw into this thing. So the fact that he's gone to me is not the worst thing in the world for the giants. But I do think that they didn't handle him as well as they could have. Now, it's easy for us to say from a distance. It's easy for us to say, well, you know, they should have had somebody crackdown on him right away. And they never would have gotten away with this stuff. It's easy to say that. But in terms of doing it, not so easy. Maybe. And again, I point to Tom Coughlin is a guy who is noted disciplinarian who obviously couldn't control him, Dan. And Dan berry you're on the fan. Dan. Good morning and thank you for the segue. That's right. Tom. Just mentioned were out start regarding Beckham. You know, he is utter lack of respect for a older seasons. Experienced knowledgeable gentleman. Mike coughlan? The first sign of guys lunacy. I said to you over the last few years about him being better gone. Then here not being a giants fan. Anyway. You know, his disrespect is. It was a defensive guy the penalty he would cause after touchdown. What's would put them on a short field because of the kickoff being back at the twenty and his attack of Josh Norman, we could have ended his career his his? We don't even have to get into a video see on the field. I mean, the guy he's not the antidote. Here's the poison in. No matter what you're saying. In my opinion. The giants are better off without him. I actually feel sorry for Cleveland county wide receivers. Don't win championships. Doesn't win championships. Margarite wins championships tonight. Richard. Right. I will disagree with a lot of what you said. I mean, right element is not technically a wide receiver more of a slot guy with the patriots of gone anywhere near as far as they did without him. So receivers do make a big difference. All right. If you have great talented receivers, and I'm not saying that element, and and no BJ of the same. Because obviously their skill sets are very different. But I it's it's a hugely important part of of football team hugely and the other stuff when when we talk about disrespect for Coughlan. I don't think he said anything or did anything that was disrespectful to Coughlin. But when he got the Norman stuff and all of that coffin didn't seem to be aware of it. Now, whether he was and he was covering up for him. That could be. But it was like, well, I didn't even know. I didn't even know. So there there was a disconnect there and in part of it is. When you have an old school coach and new school players. Remember when when they almost fired Coughlan in his second year, and they got this leadership council with the players, you know, basically delegates that could go to the head coaching meet with him frequently and say, here's what is going on in the locker room. Here's what players are thinking. Here's what needs to be done. That was a big step in having conflict be able to handle the new school of players. Now, I'm going to take a position right or wrong. Whether because I don't like the history onyx in the end zone. I don't like the extracurricular stuff. I don't like swagger. That's the word that I don't like. However, it is there. It is what it is to coin a phrase here. This is the way players are now, and you got to figure out a way to deal with them in a productive. Way rather than throw up your hands and say, I can't deal with this guy. You got to figure out how to push their buttons. And the great coaches, and this is where a Parcells excelled he had a great talent. And Lawrence Taylor. Lawrence Taylor did things far worse than anything. OB? Jay has done today far worse. And yet Parcells was able to maximize that talent and keep him on the field and. Have Taylor be what he could be as a player was he a big distraction. Yes, he was. But he was productive. And that's something that Parcells is good at figuring out to motivate. I mean, I had a former player that I played golf with once just ripping Parcells Parcells did this to me Parcells did that to me. And I said, yeah. But he'd great years under Parcells, and he goes. Yeah. But I hated him. And he's well. Well, yeah. But look what he did for you by hating him it lit a fire under you and made you play so much better. And yeah. Yeah. Hated him. And he pushed you insulted you. And he called the names, but it worked Ronnie in Manhattan, you're on the fan. Ronnie. Ron. So I just wanna make a comment, and then I'll I'll hang up and listen to what you have to say about it. But when I was thirteen years old. I remember the old school guys going. Oh, this cashes clay, we have to shut him up. He's not a boxer. He's visa disgrace. And these four guys George Paul Ringo, and John they're not musicians look at their hair. This is awful. I think your comment about Odell being a generational player is exactly spot on. But I think that you have to look at it from a different perspective that I believe any football team at any team in sports, basically has an obligation to their fantasies to put something on the field. That's exciting. That's gonna make people turn on the TV. Listen to the radio followed in the papers by their jerseys by their t shirts and be a part of the fan base. And I think the giants to shop and selves in the foot by losing. Absolutely. The most popular player in the NFL for anybody under thirty years old now, I'm an old school guy. I love L. I've I I believe that. I would rather have seen the Jim Brown's of the world who would take touchdown and just hand the ball. That's not the new world, we live in and my grandchildren. Our Browns fans, I believe that there's going to be young children all over the all over the new fan. The new NFL fans are all going to become Browns fans, and they're hoping and praying that the Browns win the Super Bowl. And if they do that would be pretty astonishing and a pretty amazing sports story. But I just think that's for the giants have just blown it here. Well, I agree with you on a marketing level see this is the divide, and we get Saturday mornings a lot of older, callers and a lot of older, callers, and this is just human nature. We look at the past. And we got boy things were so much better than we understood the world better than. But right when you grew up if you're an older guy. Or woman. You look at the Beatles. I mean, my my uncle I had a favorite uncle. I love this guy. And whereas my parents weren't able to to give me great Christmas presents. Give me a bicycle when I was I don't know nine or ten years old. I mean, he was love this guy who's great. He took me to ball games. And, you know, talk to me all the time. Great almost a surrogate, Dan. Well on the Beatles came around. I grew my hair, I grew, you know, had long hair. And he said, you cut the hair or else. And I said, you know. I was thinking. Okay. So my uncle twice a year. He lived in a different state. And I saw my classmates every day and people that I liked every day and girls as long this way. I want to look you do that. You're not my nephew anymore. And he cut me off that was it. And for the last I don't know seven or eight years of his life. I had no contact with him, and I tried, but it was cut the hair or else. And I'm wondering wherever he is now or wherever whatever he felt at the end of his time. If he thought cheese, you know, I really did the kid a disservice and myself a disservice because I loved being with the kid. Yeah. Over over something as trivial as that. It's a New Jersey Devils Saturday box office blitz right now, you can win a pair of tickets to see the devils in Arizona coyotes March.

"Bellamy and the and the jets were looking at parade parades from Denver possibly they were they were on levian bell. And everything was great in the jet world. Yeah. And then of course, late in the afternoon, you find out that Anthony Barr basically backs out of the jet deal. And decides to remain in Minnesota I and it's amazing watching like all the reaction to what happened Antonio Brown. What happened Odell Beckham junior last night, and what happened with Anthony Barr? Could you imagine if they team did to Anthony Barr with Anthony Barr did to the jets, man? Could you imagine if the jets while we kind of got an agreement, but we're going to back out on your goodbye? We don't want you could you imagine. If that would happen the other way around and then teams that were interested in that players signed somebody. Else and couldn't get back in on that play. Right. And it's kind of interesting then one Odell Beckham junior's traded. I even saw like, I think was Jamal Adams said, oh, you know. No loyalty, why should there be why should there be any loyalty of the players going to act the way, the players are acting in some of these cases, and I think Antonio Brown being the case where it shows, you gotta be really careful who you're who you're signing here here. So let's start with Odell Beckham junior. Here's the thing you, and I have been talking about this for months now, I believe that the giants actually sold high in this case, they got more than the Steelers got friend Tonio Brown, and they got more than the raiders got for for Amari Cooper and a higher draft pick, by the way. So Dave Gettleman sold high here knowing a couple of things one I do not believe that Odell Beckham junior wants to play out the year with manning. I don't believe he wants to go down that road number two Odell Beckham junior last two years has been off injured, and I do believe the last four games of last year in which he didn't play because he had a contusion. Leg. I believe that set off some some alarms within the giants building over there. And they weren't happy with them. Number three. He goes on with little Wayne and ESPN and basically wonders aloud as to whether or not he likes playing here in New York and questions his quarterback openly number four. He gets on all fours in Philadelphia and acts like a dog in the end zone. Number five. He makes a marriage proposal to the kicking number sixty gets into huge fight with Josh Norman acting like an idiot on the field. Let's not forget about Paris pizza. So you have Paris and the pizza you also have the boat trip down to Miami Green Bay playoff game. I mean, I mean enough is a freaking Nuff. I don't care how good you are. It's tolerance and its production his production the last two years due in large part to injuries and because he decided to take himself out. He is the all hyped team. This is it all hype guy that is basically. A fruit cake when it comes to being a part of a team. And you know, maybe some of his teammates are going to miss them. Always so great. I think he's more hype than anything. Yeah. I wanted some believable. So I I'm all in with David gentleman on this one. I have been talking about this for months. Senate yesterday. I said trade Odell Beckham junior cut Eli manning draft a quarterback go in for a full rebuild. The problem is though, and I am on board with this deal. And I don't think the returns band is everybody else is talking about. I think that's pretty decent return for L Beckham junior. The problem is a year late. This is the issue, and this is where Dave gentleman going to get criticized and had been getting criticizes. They didn't have as an organization Gettleman and others didn't have the foresight to say we're going to stink in two thousand eighteen we need to do this stuff. Now. Now, they discussed about trading Odell Beckham junior they did not instead they signed to a contract extension. So now they have to eat sixteen million dollars in dead cap money. They still don't have the quarterback of the future. They still have ally manning on their roster, and they're a mess. Just think about the great position. They would be if they realize this last year, and by the way, you know, the league year starts this afternoon. Which is actually getting started and the two thousand and nine thousand nine league years. So this is really the beginning. And this is the first I would say the first move because they've already, you know, let Landon Collins go and he signs Washington. They traded Olivier Vernon to the Cleveland Browns four Eric Zeitler. And I do believe that that's probably where this whole thing starting maybe with Odell Beckham junior. It might even started before that. But at the end of the day when you really think about all the nonsense that ode L Beckham junior created around the giants the money that they gave him. And then the fact that he is injured a lot. It doesn't play in every game. I'm looking at this going like, Dave get them into the right thing. Right. He made a little bit too late. I mean, they they should have. They shouldn't have signed into the deal. Because now you gotta deal with the dead cap. Stop all of that. But yes, I this is why we kept bringing it up because after the contract, and let's not forget everybody that was talking about whether to give him the money or not give him the money was talking about his prior behavior. Then all of a sudden own L Beckham junior was perfect. He was showing up to practice. He wasn't saying anything. He looked great after the injury in two thousand seventeen look he's a changed, man. He matured like most of us do as we get older. He's maturing. It's time for him to get the money. And then all of a sudden it was another one eighty from the new mature back junior. And he's sitting next to little Wayne saying, he's not sure of New York is the place to be when the giants just made him the highest paid. Things change internally the level of pain in the ass is like at an all time high. It's like ten right? And it's just too much work. It's so much work for Pat Shurmur. Do you think Pat Shurmur wants to get up there and talk post practice or post game about one individuals comment somewhere else other than on the field? And I'm so sick and tired of hearing about oh, how hard a guy works. I'm sorry. I'm paying eighteen million dollars or card. I should. That's that's the least I should get Adamu's. Your idea the day. You know, he created a firestorm. He is all hype. You know, there is a good football player in there somewhere. There's a competitive football player in there somewhere. I have lauded him at times one. He is out on the field where you could see that. He is a difference maker. But at the end of the day, how many games has he missed how many problems has he created and the internal aspect of from the head coach of standpoint from the ownership standpoint from the general manager standpoint how? How much crap are you going to put up with? I'm sorry. I can say the same thing about the Steelers and then Tonio Brown and Le vian bell one of the big questions around. Dave Gettleman right now. And I hear it everywhere is what is his plan. What is the plan right now? And to me, it's an easy answer. The plan has changed. And because the plan is changed. And because they thought they were going to be better last year. They're in a little bit of a mess but last year in two thousand seventeen they believed that they could rebuild quickly from a horrendous year the year before they had to fire. The coach guys are getting hurt and guys are leaving and everything else and quitting mid season. In the defensive backfield disaster, they thought that they could quickly go from worst to first in the NFL because it's been done before left in the tank. We're going to beef up the offensive line. And we're going to be good. They were wrong they were dead wrong. And they realized it that's why there was a purge middle of the season where they traded away guys. That's why you're seeing what you're seeing this off season. So the plan is now full rebuild. And if you want to cut Eli manning, I think that would be the smart thing to do. However now that we know they're in full rebuild. What they probably will do is because they are beholden demanding manning forever. It seems like is there going to hopefully draft a quarterback have an ally. Farewell tour have that year of mentor ship, the Kansas City model even O'Kane city was really damn good. When they add Alex Smith is a quarterback they'll have that. And they'll move on to the giants go draft a quarterback. They better now because this is full frigging rebuild right in New York is the plan. The New York Giants also now have twelve draft picks. Okay. So they have four in the top one hundred five in the top one hundred and ten and on top of that. They'll get a compensatory pick for the loss of Landon Collins in the off season next year. Anything for Atlanta Collins, while they they probably could have gotten a fourth rounder for him last year. But now they get a compensatory third rounder that will be used in two thousand and twenty. So at the end of the day. It's it's I know it's Odell Beckham junior. I know it's a big name. I know it's like a marquee name. Everybody knows everybody loves him. Everybody remembers that one handed catch a losing game against the Dallas Cowboys. Hey, you know, what? Good by don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out because you know, you have created more hysteria and issues for this franchise. And maybe since Lawrence Taylor Lawrence Taylor did live in the world of social media and didn't live in the world of access to the media. The way that this kid has when he was on winning teams too. That's the other thing that helps every. It was on your winning teams. Right. Says two years in a row now where they have had three losing to losing records back to back and they haven't gotten any better. And now, they're worse. I think on paper anyway, roster wise until we see what they do in the draft and see what are the free agents that they possibly may sign. They do pick up some salary cap relief here. They're up to I think about twenty seven or twenty eight million cap room moving forward. And remember they got the roster bonus. They give you lie. Manning this coming Sunday for five million dollars. Yeah. And I've heard to that. And I know that we have said this that it's crazy for them to continue to be loyalty Eli manning. But I have heard this idea that Dave Gettleman chose ally manning to build around as opposed to own L Beckham junior and I disagree with that thought process. I don't believe that he chose that. I think that they know now that they're in a full rebuild and whether or not you I manning is the starting quarterback next year or it's a rookie quarterback. They know. They're in a full rebuild. And if they want to give you a farewell tour next year, or they don't I'm not even sure it's going to matter. I think that they finally turned the corner with this trade and realize we're not going to be any good next year. We're just not. So I think that we now have a general manager and a team that understands that they can't win with manning..

"Sports last night. At James harden. Chuck it up about my shots. The couple of medicine thirty. I mean, thirty three games and thirty points. You had with a an essence a game with the horde like with two weeks to go against the nets. That was pretty sick. Mark assault played. Well, yup. Russell westbrook. His ten consecutive triple-double the east Cavaliers putting the clamps back big wind gusts. Look we tweet about this a little bit texting and inserted tweeting as well. Yeah. They looked that lobbied even by their ridiculously reducue lists defensive standards. What they did in Chapel Hill the final what was it. Well, the final five, but it's the health until like nine percent shooting. That's unbelievable. That was incredible. What a big win for you. Beverly carrying off the loss to Duke seemingly the only team they can't beat when you have your six ten power forward. Jack up three pointers and all of them making sixty two percent Virginia's gonna lose that game. But everybody else better watch out one. Very good win for Bennett, the boys. So it was a good sports died really it rolled into today. Thanks, buddy. Feisty on the social sees started pecking away type it away goodbye pace out. I'm gone saying peace out to the Steeler nation there. He's still on the team. I don't know that he knows that. But he's still Steeler. You're right. And here's the interesting thing BT because it's not like basketball where we've seen this. And maybe he's watching too much sports right now. And watching the other superstars and the other sports and demanding trade. I want out of New Orleans. I want to win a championship. I'm getting out of here. Okay. See I wanna go Golden State if I'm Katie and win a championship. Maybe he's watching too much of that. And things to just because he says peace. I'm gone. I'm demanding a trade at the Steelers are going to trade up. Why would I understand and you've been on this for much longer than I have going back to week seventeen of the NFL season? I kind of didn't come around to it until their principal owner started speaking about him, but backtracked on a little bit the second. You've been saying for while he's got to be gone. Even said this in the in the during the season. And so I get it. But he's sodium good BT Steelers. Let fifteen hundred yards and twelve touchdowns just walk out of the door, the sake of harmony pretty easily at this point is sake of chemistry. And easily, and I think that's like as a non in the locker room person. Now, I mean, I used to be in the locker room, but I'm not having been in the locker room and eleven years like the the importance of what you just mentioned harmony getting along route for your guy pulling for your guy liking that guy in cheering for his success is is important. You hear it more now than you used to is used to be you don't like to do gears longs. He's Ballin whatever about feelings. Now exactly is permeated. Isn't it? Interesting. How that is. Whereas back in the day with much beyond the sports at least back in the day. Think about like the generation just before me. Jennifer, Lawrence Taylor, Lawrence Jim generation, or all those guys the Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. I mean, if you were like just outside of the box click yet, but they're Bach. Yeah. I mean, they need the bounce off the team. Hayes they'd Hayes the hell they. They treat you like crap. And you conformed eventually you fit in or you know, whatever you're gone. Yeah. Nowadays, it's like we all get along. Let's talk this here. Let's get in the room and have a beer. Practice for a few days. I don't want to have a beer with you. You probably got. Us. We wanna quit on. Yeah. And by the way, people forget this. I just want to reset this the week leading up to the season. Finale a must-win game of must win game. Great that they needed some help. Which is why juju Smith Schuster and some other Steelers were watching the end of the other game on. On the heights field field but leading up to a must win game. He had a heated dispute with Big Ben. That's the report our guy jail sees been all over this. And even further jail has said that and reported that those issues extent to tablet as well. Mike Tomlin big bed and there's this fracture with Antonio Brown. And because of the blow up which was deemed pretty intense Antonio Brown decided not to choke the practice for a couple of days up, and then he showed up on Sunday to play at the gumption. Do I'm Antonio Brown. I I just I don't need to really abide by all the rules. Doughnut. You do. Now, what complicates this is? He's he's do a boatload of money. A lot of guaranteed at it's going to be very hard. It's gonna take a lot of creativity. It's gonna take a lot of patience. And it's going to take a lot of moving parts to make this happen. But take this to the Bank Antonio, and I've been saying this for six months for for three months now he will not be on the Steelers because he cannot be on the Steelers. It's. Expired. It's over. I don't think despite a few random Heyzer guy. We want him thinking totality. I don't think the team wants him. They like him because of the production. Exactly. And if they were fourteen two they played on on February second, whatever what was the Super Bowl? February to February third third if they would've played on February third, and it's only Browns in the middle of an offensive explosion is swallow hard. And you suck it up. They didn't make the playoffs at three seven two and one start with arguably as much offensive talent is anybody in the NFL through the outside of the chiefs because Big Ben getting older, and obviously Mahomes, a special and maybe water to other the Rams when they're full throttle. Right there. Fortunately, five and they've been that way for a while. So there's continuity. Here's the big is the bigger issue. And I think Mike Tomlin I don't know if he has the power to influence this trait to like say, a powers that be we need to move on from ABC we need to move o- move on from him. Right. But if I'm Mike Tomlin, I think for the for the preservation of my job, I need to move. He needs to move on from an Tonio Brown. And here's what I got you might. It's a fine. A very fine line for head coach who has a guy like a be a diva like AB because you know, he's going to be unbelievable. Every sunday. There's no denying you can't he may be a diva he may be do come in and helicopters and Akron, corona, Susan in Billy Mays Hayes as you all of that stuff. Great on Sunday afternoon that man Bala period. And so is Mike Tomlin. You you need that guy on your team what that guy team? But after he becomes so disruptive that he starts influencing other guys other younger players who say AB does that maybe I can get away with a little bit of that. But then they see Mike Tomlin. And we've heard this. They see Mike Tomlin not coming down on Antonio Brown. But then coming down on them. It creates his double standard that people will start start saying about Mike Tomlin who who are you your phone? You the disciplinarian like you are with me or you. The lenient like players coach you are with him. Yup. And so it forces him to be two different people, which is really hard to reconcile. If you're if you're smart on a team like you started saying, you sense it. That. Yes, I do know exactly what you mean. The pro. I think you're absolutely right. It's a very delicate balance to strike any straddle that line for a while. But as much I like Tomlin a lot of this is on I. On his doorstep. And I don't know that you can put it back in the bag, even if you get rid of Antonio Brown. There's a culture now there was for too long except in not lawlessness. It's unfair to Mike Tomlin. But a sloppiness a sloppy to even when he was talking about the patriots on national TV three or four weeks before they were playing just he. I'm not going to turn this into fire Tomlin. But. Mike tomlin's. This is this is the year. Otherwise that I think he's got he's getting to that point where he needs to have his locker room guy, whoever that is. I don't know if it's been or whoever right? I don't think he's been to you. I think that might be the problem, right? That's a whole nother conversation. Get rid of the quarterback. Exactly. Yeah. It's a whole nother conversation. But every head coach needs that locker room guy. He needs that guy who says when when Tomlin says, we're we're turning the ship a different angle right now. We've been going this way. We've been letting you guys do it your way. But guess what we got we got we had a veered to the right? A little bit. Because it hasn't worked we've seen the dysfunction that it 'cause we've seen the seven two and one start finish on a non playoff berth in a division that we had no business being behind the Baltimore Ravens in right? We we have to go that way. He needs the locker room guy. Big Ben or whoever it may be. And I don't think it's big been again, either a different conversation. But he needs that locker room guide to say all right guys. Coach Tomlin saying this is what we're going to go. Do. I don't know if he has that. And if he doesn't it's going to be really hard for him to re. Greenhouses establish actually, Pittsburgh Steeler team. I like the way you position that about a, you know, an unexpected choppy turn, you know, in the waters, get a little choppy to be redundant. You know, you need a unifier, and you need to galvanize her and the last thing you want when the captain of the ship, and in this instance, for this analogy, it's obviously my Tomlin less than you want. You know? The guys deck say, well, why why are we go this way? And let's be conver-. There you want you want the guy to say hold on hold on. Yes. And what he says that guys hold on. Yes. And then you have a new culture, or at least a tweaking of a culture, you know, listen if he's deltaic vigor to absorb it. Twenty one point one million dollars dead cap space, right? Tenable big. But is it on? Use the reason that happens because even though a team trades a player so his current contract is based salary for twenty nineteen talking about AB is twelve point six million dollars..

"The news. This is the heard line news. So Lawrence Taylor was the base of the eighties. Giants that one Super Bowls basically on the defense that he led many dynasty was also the launching point of career young assistant coach at the time named Bill Bella checks checks. Always given a lot of praise LT. Tom Brady also did help establish about checks Blake seek quite a bit. So let's watch his willingness in the difference between him willing to name either. One of them the goats. Donald a great football player. I wouldn't put anybody had Lawrence Taylor Lawrence. Did it all? And and did it all for thirteen years. And he dominated he dominated games. Taylor's, the best I've ever seen certainly the best I've ever coached. Now his great quarterback. So they put him up there against anybody. But. You know, I don't really feel like it's my job to to rape people. So L tease the Greenwich I've ever coached. Then Brady it's like, it's not my job to rank who, you know. It's a very weird thing that he does. And maybe maybe once Brady and Bella check are no longer on the sidelines together he will change his tune on this. I have a strong feeling that he will. But he has been consistent about LT throughout his career in saying that he is the greatest player. He's the second. He's talking about player overseeing play football. But if you're if you're asking me the five best players ever seen in my life. Like literally they were different than everybody else. Brady's one. I mean Brady's like now at forty still great Lawrence Taylor's to I would say Reggie White member. Reggie White unblock of all I would say Randy moss for and somebody. I would say Walter Payton. And I know a lot of people in our twenties never saw Walter Payton Walter Payton, there's never been a running back like Walter pain. That's a that's a strong list. I don't not it's hard to hold. By the way, Jerry Rice who's right outside that list, really close by seen. So many great receivers Randy, Jerry, just ran precise brilliant routes. Randy didn't even look like other players. He was hopping over them Yemi ran. He was doing stuff. I didn't even look at an NBA player running down the sideline. Yeah. I mean, some may argue with you on Jerry Rice does a lot of people consider Jerry Rice to be the grace receiver. I totally respect at Moscow. I'm the guys I'm talking about like Lawrence Taylor. If you go to YouTube and look at this video he would grab quarterbacks with the hand and throw them like like, the he looked different Reggie White. You could not block Reggie White. I think it's it's hard in. We're getting to that level because Tom Brady has been the consistent leader, and you know, quarterback obviously of this dynasty. So we're getting to that level where it's like, you you you wanna feel like you have to say he's the greatest player of all time. But unlike basketball, I just feel like it's hard to really say, this is the greatest football. Player of all time. Because it's incompatible aren't stellar. Could not do what what is doing. And I think it's safe to say there's no chance Brady he's going to get out there. And do what LT did. And now all this other positions that you mentioned. So it's really hard to say that look at that video of LT though. Yeah, he humiliated, all pro tackle change changed the game. Yes. She transformed it. So I get we're Bilbao attracts coming from. But he also knows exactly what he's doing. He's he's being a little coy there. So we talked about how Jared Goff excels at quarterback speak. He's great at the microphone. You always says right things to lose his cool. And he was asked about that California cool yesterday. Born with and how I grew up and how van probably attributed to my parents and the way they raised me. And just try to understand that it's still just a game and have fun with it. You are who you are. I think there's plenty of different personalities run the league in at different positions. And I think, you know, for myself personally, like to take a certain approach the way am, and I know for some guys the different approach, and I think whatever works is what you should do you just so low key. He is. So he is so anti LA. I love it..

"I guess we won't let's talk about. Let's talk about Jim Brown will argue about Jim Brown. Will you're on CBS sports radio. Sure. Bill, thanks for taking my call. Again this week. So. Yeah. Mean Jim Brown first off? I gotta say like, I told you I don't even think is the best quarterback ever. I like I said if it came down to one drive in the last two minutes, I'm taking Joe Montana periods. But there's there's another quarterback from that era that doesn't get any love. And that's the end style. Was awesome. And if you put him in today's era and he ever had a defense. Oh my God. If you put him on the patriots that me, I'm gonna blown doors. However, you know, he never wanted any championships and like Marino and he played in San Diego. So he didn't get the love. But I would also be okay. With Lawrence Taylor Lawrence. Taylor was a major game changer, and nobody wants that man on the other side of the line. But you gotta go Jim Brown. I mean the man played twelve year he won eight well not Super Bowl. But because they didn't have it yet. But NFL championship in Cleveland. The last time Cleveland won a championship in in the NFL, and what could his records? I mean they stood up yards per game. Rushing average, you know per play look at you know, how long he was rushing leader in the entire NFL into the eighties. I think it was my Walter Payton that ended up breaking his record. Eventually I mean Walter Payton played fourteen and sixteen games schedule. I think Jim Brown might have gotten a couple of fourteen games at the end of his of his career, but he played mostly twelve games. And he put those numbers up. I mean that man was incredible. Like my old, man. Tell me Jim Brown was only running back. He ever saw that kid run through you run over you or run past you, you are absolutely right. And he he played half of his career as twelve game seasons half of his career as fourteen game seasons. And he was an absolute beast. He was an absolute machine, and he is certainly in the conversation for one of the. Greats of all time. It's it's such a great conversation. Morgan Knoxville, Tennessee, thank you for listening. You're on CBS sports radio. Hey, thanks for taking my call. Got a brother. You know, I think everybody's forgetting football. You know, you gotta win on the line of scrimmage and my forty years of watching football the greatest football player. I ever saw. What's Reggie by Reggie White dominated. You know win games without line play. Reggie White was I'm I'm thinking about watching him do his thing. He was so so good. Appreciate all the calls.

"Hi, Dave, six three to ten. Longtime listener first-time caller. And I just wanted to weigh in on the greatest vote time comment earlier. Okay. Of course, of course, Robert Kraft's going to. Yeah. He loves his boy, he's brought him in a load of years and a lot of money, but. Being a Steelers fan lifetime Steelers fan. It does pain me to admit. I do believe Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback in this era and L stress in this era. There's just so many things that are involved in calling somebody the greatest of all time, as you know, you know, different rule changes and schedules the amount of games played in the season. You know, you'd get your stats, obviously, more stats than they've been in the sixties because they only played fourteen games. But anyway on mclovin query does the quarterback main the greatest player. I don't I don't believe it does. Because quarterback is one position defense, obviously is the total opposite. You you can't just say. A quarterback is the greatest player. Yeah. I mean, I I get what you're saying. Dave that you know, you're begrudgingly acknowledging Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time. But you can't say he's the greatest player of all time. Look, it's it's a, of course, Robert cramps gonna say that about his quarterback. I'm no problem with it. But it goes back to what I said I can argue for Tom Brady greatest player, and I can argue against Tom Brady for greatest player. You know? That's just a fun barroom debate that you could have. And if you want to look at the most the most dominating person I ever saw play was Lawrence Taylor. I'd never seen anybody. And I haven't seen anybody since then who plays the way Lawrence Taylor did because I saw true fear in a quarterback's face in one game you had to account for where Lawrence Taylor was. Dion is one of the great athletes of all time. Jim Brown, one of the great athletes. Fulltime I think what happens a lot. When you start talking about the greatest player of all time is hell hath let it are. They and how do you define great because Brady's resumes. Great. He's not a great athlete. He's great at what he does. But I think we have a problem we say greatest football player of all time. I can't run his arms not then you know, we start breaking down his his game. And it's not fair to Brady. And then you're going to elevate somebody else who is going to be, you know, far better athlete there and Dion was a far better athlete. But. That's why I said you can make an argument one way or another. And it's just that. It's just a fun argument in I expected, you know, Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick Dubose say Brady's greatest player of all time. I don't know if Bill check has said that. Yes. Be kind of awesome.
