All right, so I gave you my AFC playoff teams, and now I'm gonna give you the NFC playoff teams that I picked. And when I get to the last team, we're gonna talk about them. Here we go. Number one seed, Philly. Number two seed, San Francisco. Number three seed, New Orleans. Schedule related, that's it. Number four, Green Bay. Highest wildcard, Dallas. And then I have Seattle at nine and eight in the six seed. And the New York Football Giants as the seven seed at nine and eight. Here it is. I think they're better than they were last year. Okay. We talked about it a little on the over-unders, but to me this is a day ball pick. I just think to me, he has moved into that Tomlin, Vrabel kind of area where it's like, I just don't see how you're gonna have a losing record unless like catastrophic injuries happen. You guys are too well coached. And I like some of the stuff they did with their defense and the Wink Martindale stuff where it's just like, they have like a fucking million D backs now. You have a pass rush and a million D backs. And there's gonna be like, what, two, three games? Somebody will rush for, like when Carolina just ran for like 300 yards against Detroit last year. They'll have two or three games like that. We'll be like, oh my God, they ran the balls down our throat. Every single time they played them, yes. We look awful. Oh wow, the Giants. But they're gonna get to nine and eight and they might even get to 10 and seven. This is your team. What are your Giants takes? I've got the Giants in the playoffs as well. Yes, here we go. I've got the Giants in the playoffs as well. But at the great sacrifice of another team, here are my seven playoff teams. Number one seed, the Niners, I think they are the one seed. Number two, the Eagles. Number three, I also have the Saints as a three seed posting a playoff game for the Lions. I've got the Lions winning the NFC North and then it gets a little frisky. I like the Vikings to make the playoffs. Some late Vikings buzz in the prediction circles. I think the Brian Flores edition is, they were a good team as was. Then you get Flores in there. I like the Seahawks a lot. I almost had the Seahawks. If the Niners weren't so loaded, I would have Seahawks as a visual winner. Then I have two of the Giants, which means I left the Cowboys out of my NFC playoff picture. Wow, this is like me leaving off the Bills. Listen, this happens every year. We have shockers. Some team is like, there's a chance that the Bills don't make the playoffs. I'm sorry, and there's a chance the Cowboys don't. So what's the case for Dallas? Dallas has an awesome defense. They sure do. So how does it go wrong with that defense? I think Dan Quinn is a NFL head coach up and down and wherever he wants to go and is an awesome leader of men and that defense is legit. I don't know how you let Kellen Moore walk out that building as offensive coordinator. They were the fourth ranked offense last year. I think in Kellen's four years there as OC, they were the second ranked offense. I think they put up the most passing yards. They put up a top five rushing offense every year. I think they're going to miss a few guys there. I think Dalton Schultz will be missed. I think Zeke Elliott will be missed. And I think Kellen Moore will be immensely missed. And this is nothing against Mike McCarthy as it looks like it's a zero sum game. And you're saying, well, you must be saying, I mean, you're telling me that, okay, Kellen Moore put up those huge numbers as offensive coordinator and they're going to improve with him out the building and in LA. I think they're going to really miss his presence. I don't think they're going to score as many points as they did in recent years. And I think that offense takes a step back. And so if that's the case, I think the Giants are very steady and they're loaded at every position. And I think the Giants got better. I'm going with the Giants over the Cowboys this year in the NFC East. Can I imitate every Cowboys fan right now? We've owned the Giants for six years. I know, they have. Fuck you, Schwager, typical Giants bullshit. Listen, this is all going to come down to this Sunday night game. Week one, you're right. We'll see. But if the Giants can come in and actually handle Dallas and do well and win that game, I think you're going to be right. And in general, I like both of them as playoff teams, but I do think, I was trying to think, who's going to be the, oh my God, what's going wrong with that team, team, which we have every year. Last year was the Rams. We knew by the end of September, we're all looking at the Rams going, ooh, oh no. Whoa, we were way wrong on this team. I find it harder to believe with Dallas's defense that's going to happen, but I also could see one of those weird years where it's like, man, the Pythagorean theorem has them at 12 and five, but they're headed for nine and eight. It is conceivable. They're not a five-win team. They're one of those nine or 10-win teams that just missed the playoffs. It's like a season went to hell kind of thing, I think, when that's happened. It's one of these deals where TV networks would cry in their pillows over this. The ratings do great when the Cowboys are good and they're always on prime time and all that stuff. I think they made a really interesting decision in letting Kellen Moore walk out that door. And I think everyone just kind of brushed over. It's like, ah, we'll shot in a row, we'll come in, and Mike McCarthy's an offensive coach, they'll be fine. Kellen and Dak were really tight. Kellen was Dak's backup for many years, and then he was his quarterback's coach, then he was his offensive coordinator, and Dak has been a really good NFL quarterback. Do you tell me that you give him this confidant, this guy that the two of them have been together forever, then suddenly he walks out the door and now Dak's going to take a giant leap and be even better? Well, maybe, and maybe Kellen Moore was holding him back. I don't see that as the case. To me, Dak is a what do we got here guy too. We'll see. Cause I had a Giants fan, I was, I caught a Giants fan that I know who's really dialed in and is usually right. And last year was telling me we're going to be better than people think. Okay. And I was like, what do you think of this week one? And he's like, look, we can get to Dak. This is it. Dak doesn't like to be hit. Dak's not good when he's pressured. And we can, we can get to him. Like he was like, we're going to win week one. It's happening. We are going to get to him. We're going to make him uncomfortable. And he does not like to be uncomfortable. And it's true. Like Dak's, I think what people think, and we talk about this all the time, but what people think Dak is versus what he's actually been, it's two different conversations. I love, I love Dak in certain moments, but like, if you're just looking at, okay, now pick your top five quarterbacks in the league. Dak's probably not on that list. And then if you're saying- He's definitely not on that list. What do you mean? So then if you're taking away a really trusted offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, and you're saying we're better off without him, well then, okay, I got to see it first. That's it. I got to see it first. I don't know what this offense looks like. Is C.D. Lamb, if you're going to, if you're going to rank him against the other number one receivers, I don't think he's one of the 10 best. He's talked about it like that. You know, he's considered that way. I haven't, I mean, he's very good player. I worry about Brandon Cook's holding up for a whole season because of the concussion stuff you mentioned before. And then Pollard has always been in the situation where he's like this glorified, awesome luxury. He was amazing. He's a Ferrari. But now he's like, do you have 300 carries and 75 catches in you? By the way- Or is Deuce Vaughn going to be somebody who can step up for them? I don't know. You're going to get excited by this. It's a little bit of a tangent, but it's Cowboys related. I hear Zeke looks amazing. I'm not kidding. I hear- On the Pats. Yes. And I hear that he's in the best shape that he's been in and that he has been the leader. I've got, you know, your listeners might roll their eyes at, oh, I've got swords. But like people in New England are telling me that Zeke showed up and it was like, all right, really good meeting, really good work. And then in the few weeks he's been there has immediately become like this veteran leader where it's like, oh shit, like Zeke Elliott's been in a lot of big games and has been a star player everywhere he's been. And he has taken this team and kind of this offense under his wing as like the veteran leader. And Ramondre's the number one. Don't get me, don't get it twisted. Zeke Elliott's going to be very important to the Patriots this year. And I think the Cowboys might miss Zeke Elliott quite a bit. Well, and he also saved some miles on Ramondre. He's a good goal line guy, but you're right. Like there's a definite different vibe to this Pats team. And the question is going to be the offensive line, which is why I had them, I was like ready to pick them to win the AFCs and the offensive line stuff really makes me nervous. And we'll see how it goes. I think they're going to do some more RPO stuff to, you know, kind of take a little heat off that and just move fast and go quick. Week one matchup for them is a disaster. This is like literally the worst team they could play with offensive line questions. But I'm with you, the vibe's different. Last year was just not, Tom Kern wrote a great piece the other day about like last year was just not a Patriots year. And can they at least get their identity back of we don't beat ourselves. We're really well coached. We're smart. We maximize the people we have. We're tough, we're gritty. We stay in games. Like can they get that back or was that just attached to Brady? Last year was their worst year in recent memory. And they're that Bengals crazy Ramondre Fumble away and the Jacoby Myers play away from making the playoffs. So as bad as they were- With a team that wasn't even that good. As bad as they were and as no receivers that they had, like I put them on my breakout list and I've talked about them with you over texts. Like Pop Douglas, Pop Douglas is going to be a thing. This is a six round pick, you know, out of Liberty and he's five foot eight, but like Dave, they really like Pop Douglas. They really like Zeke. They really liked the other rookie out of LSU, Butte. Like they liked these guys and that's a lot more than they had last year. And then you add in Bill O'Brien, I think the Patriots are going to be significantly better, but there are only seven rooms at the end. This is true. Is there a guy you're looking at as an elevating into superstar status guy, if you had to bet, is it Lawrence? Lawrence seems like the odds on favor for this question. Well, the national conversation, I think you're going to start putting Lawrence and Herbert in that same Burrow, Mahomes, Allen conversation and Jalen Hurts, of course. But if we're talking like who's going to step up and be in that next year, I think Kenny Pickett is that guy this year. I think you mentioned it. I think they're going to win a lot of games and I think Kenny Pickett's going to be excellent. And then on defense, I really like Jalen Phillips from the Miami Dolphins. He is a pass rushing demon who was just getting started at the end of last season and kind of is the leader there. I think he's going to step up and be in those like, you know, defensive player of the year conversations. So MVP this year, I'm so torn. I might go way off the board. I talked about this with my podcast producers. I was like, this might be that weird year where if Christian McCaffrey has a thousand and a thousand and the Niners win a bunch of games, all those quarterbacks kind of cancel each other out and it's like, let's give it to a running back. So I might go Christian McCaffrey, my MVP, just because I think so many of these quarterbacks are going to put up big numbers and have big years. And unless we get some like crazy breakout season from a quarterback we didn't expect, like we got from Jalen Hurts. I don't know why you would put one over the other and I don't think we're just going to just by default, give it to Mahomes or Allen if they don't have the same kind of seasons they've had the last couple of years. I have Hurts. I think it's the best odds. I think it's still 12 to one on Fandle, but I just, I think that Philly offense is going to be the best offense in the league. And I think that's, you think it's going to be Detroit, it sounds like. I love Detroit this year, but I don't think Jared Goff's winning enemy MVP awards. No, but I love, I think he's going to have like you know, 4,900 yards rushing, 12 rush TVs, the same kind of officially stuff he had last year. Like he was awesome last year. He was. I think he'll be better this year. By a large margin, they have the best offensive line in football and the best offensive line coach in Jeff Stoutland. And they, Maya Lada, who they just gave a huge deal with had never played football before. And they grabbed him into a dominant tackle. They are so good on the offensive line that they can get away with some things. My only fear with Philly, and it's not a, I still have them winning the division and being great. Last year, they got really great production from Jason Kelsey, from Lane Johnson, from Brandon Graham, and from Fletcher Cox. They were four veterans. They're bringing them all back. And they're all back like. Old guys. Yeah, we've covered football a long time. And it's like, can they do it again? And last year it was amazing that they all stayed healthy and all played such big roles. But you're kind of banking on them again as these other young guys start coming up in the ranks. Philly's gonna be good for a long time. I'm just curious to see if all four of those guys can make it from wire to wire and still produce. I thought they were excellent last year. And just getting Jalen Carter, who I think everybody thinks is the best guy in the draft, just adding him, not to mention all the other stuff they did. They didn't really lose anybody. And they took their chance with running back to not spend money at that position, which is kind of the way to go. I mean, that's why I thought it was so weird that Gibbs better be fucking awesome for Detroit for them not to take defense at 12 and 18. They better think Gibbs is like a game changer. Yeah, and DeAndre Swift goes to the Eagles and he's had a great camp and it's like, shit, DeAndre Swift was in second round pick and has been really good in the NFL. The Eagles didn't take such a major dive letting Miles Sanders walk off. They got Rashad Petty and they got DeAndre Swift and they like Gainwell. So they've got three guys. It's not like they're just going out there and they're suiting up with no running back. Well, and that's also a position if you're panicking in October, you could just trade a third rounder for Tyler Algier or something like that. I think it's always easy to grab a running back. I love that guy. That guy got thrown out of my auction yesterday. He went for nine bucks because people are like, oh, that's the guy that ran for six yards of carry for like two months. Thousand yard season as a fifth round pick at a BYU. And now we're gonna take a running back eighth overall.

"It was like three or four years ago, it was that it was that Clemson defensive line, right? Where it was like Cleveland Farrell and who else did they have? Christian Wilkins. Dexter Lawrence Lawrence. Jury's out. Certainly on how that went, but I was talking to duke Tobin before the Super Bowl about Trey hendrickson. And I was like, how did you isolate because there was a couple advanced metrics that had said he was the most supporting cast dependent sack producer of the NFL, the year before the Bengals signed him in free agency, and then it turns out he's just in otherworldly ISO player and just did these tremendous things. And you know, he said, there really does take a large effort on part of the scouts to isolate him against other guys who are high quality players. And so I think that there was, you know, certainly, you know, certainly a big push for that. Why it, for example, you know, he's going to just sidestep and rip through a guard who's just standing there trying to pass in pass protection, but is that because, you know, you have to double two other guys. And so I think and you have Kirby smart who's the best defensive coordinator in the NFL. It's in college football. So it's an interesting question. And I think that some teams are probably going to be better at pulling him out of the context of his defensive line than other teams. It's unfair that we only said that about him. He's like the 8th Georgia guy we've talked about on this show. That's true. That's true. Yeah. Read of us. Maybe they all make each other better. American corn farmers, a proud and chosen profession inspired through generations. Tested, resilient, and committed to giving back as much as they're growing, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with every bushel. While replenishing every increasingly precious resource, like the reduction of soil loss by 40% with every acre grown in a world where sustainability matters more than ever, we need all the help we can get, and there's no greater resource than the capable hands of American corn farmers. I've been a metro station manager for 20 years. People need to know we are ready for them. That means keeping everyone safe. Right now, the focus is on trains and COVID precautions. Rioters and employees wear masks. All buses and trains have improved air filtration. And we're working hard to get all our trains back on the track. My name is Jeff doubt. I'm doing my part to keep the D.C. area moving. Let's go to Penn State's Arnold ebu kiti. Kind of a fascinating guy, not a whole lot of buzz until kind of draft season rolled around here. I would absolutely defer to other people who know, I don't know. How to assess these prospects better than I do, Mel kuipers and one of them, and I saw Mel kiper is like, he is totally on the bandwagon here. He thinks this guy's a sure phi first trumpet. I don't see it. I see a really high effort guy more of a face up rusher. I don't think he's bending the edge against anyone. I like that he goes so hard. He's got some Twitch. He's got, you know, he's gonna be really hard to sort of lock onto, but to me he's just sort of a smaller guy. I don't know. I'm just not quite seeing it. I think he's a fine kind of rotational edge rusher when it's all said and done, but I have a tough time going round one with him. You gotta trust milk hyper man. Milk Kuiper gets gets bashed. But I think his top 100, some mock drafters will be like, look at how good my mock draft is. But you look at mill's top 100. And I think that's where a lot of your bread is buttered as like a true draft analyst expert and that guy is like otherworldly. He's very good. Aka, yeah, I agree. I mean, the size doesn't jump out for me, but I think that there's a lot of things that you could do with them, right? I mean, like Penn State had him on to block kicks. They had him on to they had him on to do a bunch of stuff. And so, you know, he could just be one of those pieces of the puzzle guys that just flies around and does a bunch of interesting stuff on your defense. But again, you know, you'd have to have the right coordinator. You'd have to have the right system. And I think the league very generally speaking is moving away from some of the things that he does the best. At least temporarily. Okay, I am like I said, I will absolutely defer to Mel kiper. If you're going to go with someone's take, take him over me. Can I tell you a good melt Kuiper story? Yeah, always. Okay, so I was doing, I was doing a story on Paul Zimmerman. Our great mock drafter, the late great Paul's Zimmerman. About what was arguably the greatest mock draft of all time. He got like the first 12 picks right or something totally crazy like that. And even there was like two trades that he nailed in the top 12. And so I interviewed Mel Kuiper about it. And you go through Mel kuipers people and so whatever they say Connor or from Sports Illustrated is going to call you blah blah blah. And so throughout the entire interview, Mel is going, yeah, absolutely Ryan. And he's like, and let me tell you something else, Ryan, about this. And Ryan Ryan Ryan Ryan Ryan. And so I was like, whatever, I don't care. And he was great. He was awesome. He was so deferential and spoke really highly of Paul, who we all, I think, love and appreciate his work and his commitment to football journalism. And so he hangs up the phone, and I was like, okay, cool, so I could just go back to transcribing and writing. I get a call back from a Maryland number, which is where he's from like ten minutes later and he just goes, and this is the height of draft season. So Mel Kuiper every second of his day is budgeted from the end of the Super Bowl through the draft. This guy is spoken for. And he calls me back ten minutes later and he goes, oh my God, I was calling you Ryan that entire time on the phone. He's like, your name is Connor. He's like, I'm so sorry about that. And I was like, you don't have to apologize. It's amazing, you know? And that was like the coolest thing I think one of the most human things because I think that once you reach a certain level in this business, you become sort of subhuman, but that is not the case for milk I think he's one of the truly good people in this business. Absolutely. And like you said, if you are talking to Mel Kuiper in the month of April, he'll call you whatever you want. And you just accept it. I mean, that's totally understandable. Yeah. All right, last guy we're talking about here, that is David ojabo from Michigan. Obviously I have the rupture to Achilles at his pro day and that's probably going to knock him out of round one here. I'll just say this as someone who, again, not terribly good at this, but any edge rusher who has a really good spin move. I automatically think should go first overall. I think you should trade multiple first round picks to come up to number one to get an edge rusher with a great spin move because it just looks cool. And I.

"Goes way up and price now. This is an individual story about that. Though so is my daughters. Were going with the school and they had tickets school and she was like. Can you tell me how much it would be if we wanted to do. The house express pass. And so i- priced it when it first came out and when it first came out it was like seventy eight dollars so deal when they were ready to buy it and i said to them. It's going to go up and two weeks before they went. She was like how much is it. We wanna see how much it is. It was like a hundred and sixty dollars a person. Just you listened to you. i'm like i yet thank. We experienced the same thing. I was watching it and not sure when we were actually gonna go because we had tickets from last year that carried over to this year because last year. They didn't have it. And i love the express. Pass it. lets you see all the houses and all the scare zones the show and Rule shows not on past but well no. That's true but it lets you but it allows you the time. Yeah it gives you in your evening because the at some of those houses when we went a couple of weeks ago where two hours. My girls didn't get into a single house We did. We did all ten. Yeah so that's the difference but it cost a fortune. We got there an hour after it opened my so we did the trick where you get you go in the find your day past day pass and then you wait in a holding area and then they let you out thirty minutes early. They got there. They hit traffic coming from the school. And got our yeah. The ten houses are amazing. But literally i mean. Some of those lines were two hours but with the express the most was twenty minutes. So the rule is in case anyone's wondering and i'm still on my tangent but the rule is because i asked we would get an align and they would let fifty people from the standard line go and then five to ten from the express lane and i'm i'm like this doesn't seem fair little upset by that as we paid a lot of money for that and so i did ask. So how how are you supposed to work this and the guy told me essentially we kind of get a feel for the line and were trying to make it a twenty minute. Wait for anyone with express pass for less or less no more than twenty But they're not gonna make it a five minute wait for you At the expense of the other line if that makes sense so they do have a strategy but it seemed like we're getting gypped but they didn't want to make it an automatic on and some of the lines the express lines that we got in would have been practically an automatic on with twenty twenty five people in the line and or ten people in line for that matter and so they make you wait a little bit a little bit At least five minutes an an. They're good at it now that i understand their theory. Yeah i mean we actually time them. From from the time we start to the time we got in the house and there was not a single one. That was over twenty minutes and some of those were two hours. There's no way we could gotten every house in now. And i remember the one. It was a really popular one and we were out of the house and walking tour next house. And you checked your your phone and it said thirteen minutes so that was line plus house. Yeah it it's if you can swing it by your express passes early you will be sorry. We looked at ours as well and they were about. You know the seventy-nine at might even have been sixty nine. And when i bought them even wanna tell you they were over two hundred a person. Yeah yes crazy. If you know you're going it's totally worth. The expense was a brook birthday thing. We're supposed to be on a cruise. And then she turned twelve on the word of turn tone twelve on the cruise in that turned into a thing where we couldn't get around the crews because of kobe protocol so literally the next day we come up with a new birthday plan and she loves loves halloween horror nights but it just kind of put us in a very expensive situation but she had a great time and it's that event is amazing so so anyways so there you go. "Through and they still only had one more win. Then mike mccarthy's cowboys. So i'm not trying to this into wins and whatever but like you know just taking you hate ron rivera By the way the quotas don't cling to a mistake just because you spend a lot of time making it that it is one sounds like a sign and somebody's high school yearbook all right just before we Finish up here. Just on a macro Season outlook Sort of thing Just a couple of questions for you here. dak prescott. Do you think. There's any questions at the end of this year about his health or about if they made the right decision and pay him now. I mean. I think that. I don't think he throws for even five thousand yards. Because i don't think hobbies wanna play that kind of football and i think the defense is better. Yeah who wants to do that. I i also think. And i know you know this but and i know i've said this before here on the network but since we're having the discussion through the first seven games of the season last year the cowboys offense again. Two possessions beyond the fifty yard line. For the i was after she was interception against the rams and the other was after the waterman kick and so like there will be a dip in dak prescott statistical production because i think the defense will force more three. And or maybe not three and outs but punts earlier and possessions or turnover so whatever and so instead of having to go seventy six. Seventy nine eighty two yards every possession. Maybe the cowboys only up go. Forty two yards fifty one whatever. The case may be so. I do think that a month from now on the regular season people be like big last shoot was averaging three hundred whatever yards per game. He's only averaging two hundred seventy nine cowboys real stupid for paying him. I don't think that's the case. I think the context is important. But i think it will be amazing. I think he certainly wants comeback player of the year. I don't know if you've read this already. But in peter king all morning in america he picked her when james to an comeback player of. I don't think that's a bad choice though. Derwin james's aside. I mean it just depends Is this going to be considered a balance. Obviously you say that he's probably going to get more touch and everything like that. But do you think at the end of this year will be looking at. This was a bounce back year. For ezekiel elliott. Anything think people are going to be still questioning if he's in decline. Yeah i think bounces back. I mean he you know last year was really tough and i mean the effects of covert on specifically i. Certainly you know out of say for debate but up for debate as far as being legitimate factor. And so. Yeah i mean i think he has a thousand yards right and i think that you know especially over seventeen game since i think people will be like. Oh yeah he was. He was great. You know whatever. And i think the run game as a whole is probably better for the cowboys. Just because the quarterback play much better The cowboys By the end of this season Is mike. parsons going to be hands down. Obviously in the minds of everyone their best player on defense no doubt no doubt yeah better than trayvon digs if trailing like six picks. I think i think right now. We did this. i wanted to live shows. I don't mean to just like plug everything but we didn't we ask this question. I wanted to live shows and saw ask you if you had to power rank the top three players on the defense right now. Who would they be uh Obviously we have questions about you know vandereycken bounce back or not so i'd say lawrence And it's tough there so much known behind lawrence lawrence. Parsons you hope digs. But i mean he does have to step up more got picked on last year. I'll say lawrence parsons gregory. That was the debate. Literally the exact same debate that everybody had you were watching. Don't lie so you basically started. I watch them all. It was all this show. Is this shows just going to be recycling other content from uganda tank. Mica trayvon in a lot of people thought randy was eligible for that their nominee. And so i think to that point. Mike is already the second best player on this team. He's certainly going to be the best player when it's all over and i was gonna say. I don't know who. I made this comp. The first person i saw it was john mishota from the athletic. Our friend. I think he's cd. I i didn't really see that until a little bit later in the process this year like it was really obvious. That cd was like holy crap. The alpha has arrived for the cowboys offense and like it took me a little bit longer to get here with mike and so i think he unquestionably. I think he probably wins defensive player of the year rookie of the year over. And i think second is. Patrick's are ten which is a really interesting kind of what if conversation. Avid march is this the last year. Michael gallup place for the cowboys. Probably what would you put the odds at eighty percent. Although i mean like i i don't think that they're creativity. You don't t- will. Team friendly returned deal. I don't think that no. I think the only way he returns if they cut mar. And i i know it's not the most creative maneuver in the world to cut him on like just cut him and eat the six million dollars. But i don't think creative enough or bold enough to do that. You know what i mean. Anti-science gallup. I think that right now i would assume that that is probably the more logical step to take but a mario so freaking good i mean and it feels like we forget that and then he reminds us. And so yeah. I think there's a again. We referenced jeff tavern earlier here cavenaugh saying that you know he was feeling pretty confident. That cd lamb by the end of this year. Be the best receiver on the team and he said you know you just you see some of the stuff like amari can do out of and you get reminded and you're like oh. Yeah there's a you forget how good he is not that. It's a ding on cd. But it's just you forget. How damn good amari cooper is and now he's a true number one receiver and so it's like okay. Maybe not as confident that is going to be the best receiver on the team. But not a dingaan on cd. Just that's how good amari is right. And i mean they're assuming he's that guy or close to that guy it will be hard to justify cutting know outside of gallup having on pace to to be really impressive last year but outside of him having this amazing season in arizona but Not a spoiler alert. But i'll say on the michael. Gallup conversation may be looking out on the blog. Otherwise podcasts erica. The youtube channel. From michael gallup conversation. I dunno tomorrow wednesday. Something like that. If you like michael gallup and blog on the boys just pay attention which you assuming that you know. You're you're listening to this. You would like both so that would be the hope My favorite dubious statistics heading into the season. That for those of you who are listening for the first time. I have not heard this Is that the cowboys have lost. Seventeen straight games when they've scored fewer than thirty points. That's sixteen regular season games in a playoff game They're the only of the nfl. The last two seasons that hasn't won a game scoring fewer than thirty points. So does that street come to an end this year. Yeah i think so. But not necessarily because like they are great and really rectified. The wrong but because they play some some trash teams right like you know like i mean they get to play daniel jones twice in an offensive line. That's worse shape than dallas. It's a play there to washington games late in the year. You know what i mean. I don't believe in ryan fitzpatrick and december. They get to play. Sam darnold ride there to play. Teddy bridgewater drew lock their play. Jamie's or maybe it's tastes. Inhale like one of those games is an opportunity for that to fall all right. And then finally What's your record prediction for this year. I started already so you want listening. Eleven and six range a resetting. I think they win. And i had to get through. I've said this also multiple places. But i actually would love to hear your response was. I don't know if i've told you. Specifically i think it would be poetic and not just from a cowboys. Slant but it be poetic. If aaron rodgers is last game as a green bay. Packer was a playoff loss. In the divisional round against the cowboys the team who is tormented in the very same round but at their house and therefore this happening lambofield divisional playoff loss to the teams. Tormented in the dallas cowboys led by the head coach. Who he ousted in mike mccarthy which gets which would have been more poetic though that or more had the packers saints actually opened the season in. At and t. stadium and then the first time the packers lose an. At and t. stadiums. To sean payton coaching the saints. Which would have been more poetic..

And that's a Bloomberg business. Flash Tom and Paul Karin. Thanks so much prosperity and Tom King, we say good morning to you on a Monday. It is really interesting news. On the pandemic. Whether it's Australia major lockdowns what we heard from the prime minister in the United Kingdom today and the relatively good news I should say Top flight Good news in America. Overall, This is the variant here, Joshua Sharfstein of Johns Hopkins University. Absolutely. I mean, given how quickly it is spreading, it should be a concern because it can destabilise even countries that have done a pretty good job Vaccinating. So, for that reason, I think all these warnings are reasonable and it's an extra push to get people vaccinated and to help people and Others understand the importance of vaccination. Great Ra ra. We're going to do it. Celebrities will step in and say, Get vaccinated, etcetera, Or do we need corporation sporting events, etcetera to say enough? You've got to be vaccinated if you want to participate. I imagine that is going to happen, particularly as the vaccines moved from the authorization authorization stage to getting licensed. I think it will become more of a standard in this country, given the very strong safety record that they have. And the fact that they'll be fully license. I think that probably is going to happen more and more. Dr Sharfstein said that the delta variant could destabilize countries even that have high rates of vaccination among the population. Can you elaborate? Well, I think countries that have very high rates of vaccination are going to be protected. But countries that have pretty high rates you can see now, even the United Kingdom. The case is going up and even sign the deaths may be going up the United States where we have states with relatively middling levels, vaccination, we're going to be particularly vulnerable. We'll see. Meaningful outbreaks and if not the fall, maybe even this summer in some places based on just how transmissible this virus is, and you know, hospitals will start to fill up again. Well, Dr Sharfstein, there's a distinction between destabilizing nations that have vaccinated individuals because those vaccinated individuals are getting sick from the delta variant as certain news reports out of Israel showed Over the weekend versus just being more prevalent among those who are not vaccinated. I mean, can you give us a sense of the risks on the other side? Even for vaccinated individuals? The risks are much less were vaccinated Individuals vaccine individuals can still get sick. They can still get very sick, but it is pretty rare, but you know, we should care about how The entire state the entire country is doing And by that metric we should all be worried because it is true that people who are unvaccinated are particularly vulnerable. And you know, these viruses can cause serious damage, even among young people, Okay, But Dr Sharfstein, we have this with other illnesses, too, And this is where it comes to the threshold of when we start treating Covid like just another virus that we have to deal with, like the flu. Like other common colds that people get. There is a question at what point we crossed the Rubicon where people have vaccination. Available. If we're not seeing the high hospitalization rates where it's okay and we can't necessarily just restrict travel and restrict business activity. When do we cross that line? I think first from a public health perspective, if you realize the amount of illness and death that were potentially vulnerable to, for example, in the United States is enormous and would swamp normal flu flu season, So we're not talking about flew in the sense of The number of deaths if we don't get more people vaccinated, so from a public health perspective that that's one thing, so if, on the other hand we want to say Okay, from a social perspective, we're willing to say, you know, it's all on you. We're still going to be spending a lot of money for for hospitals. It's going to affect how our health care system operates. It potentially could make people even who are vaccinated, afraid to go out. And spend money in the economy. So you know the fundamental dynamics haven't shifted. We're all better off if we can control the total amount of illness out there, Joshua, what's so important Here's Lisa Brand wants his kids have already started their reading for fall. I mean, they got a reading list of like 14 books is a lot and there are already into it. As well. Dr Sharfstein, can you say that are assumed school return is in jeopardy because of the delta variant. I think it's premature to say that curio curious what aides you're talking about for your kids. But you know for adolescents you don't want to know. You are particularly now able to get vaccinated. I think that will be obviously very helpful. You know, we're going to have to see there's always been, you know, a little bit of a Question mark with exactly what the virus is gonna do. Um, but I do think that in certain areas where the vaccination rates are overall low, we are at risk for serious outbreaks and in those areas You know, it may be that different kinds of measures are going to be needed, particularly this fall. Joshua Sharfstein, Johns Hopkins with a Monday update there on the pandemic, Always good pulse. We need to talk to Mario Gabelli always wound up. He's got some individual stuck ideas around tractors and materials and stuff like that. But it goes back to pricing power. Let's do a clinic right now. And pricing power revenues are unit dynamics in price dynamics. And if there's inflation and you can do pricing power, you can charge higher prices. Do you actually get that or do you? Where is everybody setting yourself up for disappointment? No, I said, I think a lot of companies. It depends on the sector. I think depends on the industry pricing power you have and I know, you know, I've known Mary Good belly for decades. He's a big, obviously big, big media investor. But across the board that's one of his tenants. Studies always talked about one is pricing power. The other one is operating leverage. You know, he likes companies in likes businesses where he has operating leverage. So if in fact you do create a better mousetrap, a better widget, and that gives you some surprising power that can translate into higher margins. Higher profitability here, young Turk. On Wednesday. You're walking into Gabelli. No boy to do a briefing? Yep. What are you doing all later on Tuesday? Yeah, absolutely do And you know what I was had the fortune to meet with him many times and talk about media stocks. But I'll tell you what he is the hardest working person I know. On Wall Street. He literally all the time is walking around with K's and accused of prospectus is digging deep into the numbers and into the footnotes. He does his analysis even at this stage of his career. He does the dirty work. He goes to analyst meetings. He gets his on conference calls, and he really gets into the weeds. And that's what I think has made him unless less vocal was Gordon Crawford out of capital sure, like not nearly as visible, but Yep. Larry Haverty up in Boston Charities. Impossible Exactly. "Is not with us today, but that's fine because I am awesome and so is our guest Jared psych. Oh God, he told me before what is it Lawrence Lawrence. I knew it. I always wanted to I always know it in my head. This is an issue. See I also fear failure. So I'm pretty sure you knew my real name's this is more like it's more my stage name, but yes parents like Lawrence for anybody who wants I actually knew both names. That's the whole thing. I've known both names for a very long time because I've known you for over ten years. I met you at the pickup Summit like thousands of years ago or something. I was telling you when I was on your podcast. I have a picture where I was sitting on your lap. I remember I got in trouble for that picture from my husband cuz I was dating him at the time. He's like, is this what you do when you go to conferences job? Yeah, this is what I do this how I interact with men because I am a flirty person and that was one of our biggest first conversations about who I was and who I always want to remain being while in our relationship, I am a touchy-feely person. I am going to sit on Friends laps who are men. I am going to hug men. I'm going to touch men with no sexual intent that was a huge conversation for us. So thanks for getting me in trouble. And then thanks for opening up my little bit more with honest communication. Anyway, so Jared other than knowing me for a very long time is also the owner of modern flirting. So tell me about what that is, cuz it's not just really about flirting. It's more of a Lifestyle brand for men. So you tell me about it is that you do and how you created this company or why so I picked the name on a floating for two reasons again for the modern for the flirting and here's really what it came down to, Georgia..

"A little bit, but I mean, I've been on record saying I hate quarterback competitions, and I think it ends up just and that's why I agreed with what Denver did last year. Just kind of committing to drew lock and saying you get all the rest because from a reps perspective for Any young player. You're gonna want him to be the guy. I just don't think it works when you have two young guys buying for the reps and trying to learn the system together and all of that. Um, but I did. You know, I kind of thought a scenario would be better. If you're drafting a first round quarterback you That's your actual competition for Drew lock you actually see what happened. In camp and, um, either way, you kind of come out winning. It's true Lock wins the job outright, and you kind of forced him to win the job. And you've got a first round quarterback and depend on what happens with this contract in the future or whatever. You've got some some hedging a little bit. On so that that's the way I was thinking about it. But, um, hearing Tim's perspective of just you know what you don't want in the quarterback room and the kind of chemistry you do want in there. And what competition does that at times? Um, you know, I think it's a compelling case, too. If you end up bringing in a guy that you think could be the starter, and he's a young guy and needs to learn than you know, having to lock there and then competing may not be the best environment for either of those guys. Chatting here with Jeffrey. History from Mile high Airport where some other things that stood out to you in that podcast that you guys sort of again. A lot of time on Sam Darnel and I agree with Joe. I want to kind of go watch a little bit more. I think Tim is actually gonna do a breakdown of Sam Donaldson. What are some other things that stood out to you? Yeah, I thought his take on Trevor, Laurence and back. Wilson was really interesting. Um and I do agree with him a little bit. In terms of just the How we've almost probably put unfair expectations on Trevor Laurence, maybe as a quarterback, and when maybe from the tools perspective, we're maybe over selling it a little bit and obviously I think he's a great player and we'll see what happens. But I was I was surprised. Here, Tim with a little bit more down on Trevor and maybe more high on Zach Wilson in that regard, and then Mac Jones as well. I think those two guys probably from a system that those were the kind of my big takeaways is. Those are the two guys that I want to go dig into. Maura of on DATs. What I like you. We can watch it. I can watch it from a tape perspective or try to see it. But talking to a guy like Tim, who has The expertise from an offensive perspective and knows the coaching points and stuff of how to watch is always enlightening, toe know who's gonna be fit best in the system. Things like that. And then the other thing we talked is You know if you're bringing in a young quarterback from the first round You're assuming that Pat Shurmur has a lot of saying that right because he's gonna be the guy grooming him, But that's an interesting position because you know you're picking the fit Shermer system. He probably has a lot of input in that. What happens if you draft that quarterback, and then their offense continues to sputter? It doesn't pan out and, you know, does the new GM want to move on from Pat Shurmur to stand? You want to move on from Pat Shurmur? If you're too isn't much better than your one, And now you're starting over it. IOC again and you have a young quarterback, so That's kind of an interesting thing is how much weight do you give Pat Shurmur in the drafting process? I think you have to give him a lot. But that almost means you're committing to Pat Shurmur for another year is well. Past this one. If you're bringing in a new quarterback, we had about two minutes left and you mentioned something there that I want. I was very specific I wanted to have you want to talk about and it's that every year, it seems like draft experts and you're a guy that follows it all closely. We may be We put too much emphasis on these quarterbacks. We put too much expectation. You just mentioned that with Trevor Laurence, and we sort of a sign a certain value to these guys. That is almost better than what some teams have his existing quarterbacks like like if they have kind of a mediocre quarterback, It's like what you got to go into the draft and take this quarterback trade lands. Because he could be better. But he may not end up her luck feeling right? That's what I'm saying. Like, right? We throw out that hyper, bro. Hyperbolic stuff, So I mean, how do you parse through that? And me. And do you agree that we maybe build these guys up a bit too much? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I think we look at guys like Justin Herbert who come in and kind of catch fire right away. And then we want to start assigning that to everyone. And even Justin Herbert kind of tapered off towards the end of the season, And I think we We still have to recognize that these guys are coming in, particularly depending on the systems that they're coming from. They're coming in and having to learn a whole new language. And you know all the complexities that come with jumping into an NFL offense. And so it doesn't matter what the tools that they bring to the table, and that's mostly what we focus on. I feel like Um, you know, myself included. When we're looking at quarterback. We get enamored with the athleticism, the arm strength and all of that, and I don't necessarily see what they're being asked to do from an offensive, you know, mental processing perspective or anything at the college level and how quickly that would translate. And so I think the ramp up time is something that we really don't As you know, Draft evaluators have a good day for and That's probably the place we sell These guys short the most is how much time they're going to need to ramp up and a lot of that comes from what system they're coming into. And what's when they're going to Always good to chat with you, Jeffrey again. Fantastic Work on the cover Two Broncos podcast with Joe Rales. Thanks for the time tonight, my man. We appreciate it. Absolutely enjoy that. You'll take care. Alright, Jeffrey History on Twitter at Jeffrey History and of course Mile High report We check in with them every Friday. This is something that The more the longer I've been doing this, the more it bugs me the as you mentioned the tray, lance thing like, Oh, my gosh, This guy could be the next Andrew luck. He's got all the tools and it's like my goodness like we like these guys don't even have a chance. You talked about building building guys up Citation, the president they slap a label on somebody's the next This And they put the highest label that they can on the guy, the lowest level if they think he's gonna give us But Lawrence Lawrence is generational, like he's a generational quarterback is dead. And if he doesn't do that in Jacksonville, these bus right and that's the thing like that. What happened to being good, generational or bust people that call Derek Carr a bust their cores, a top 12 quarterback in the NFL being a top 12 quarterback in the NFL? Means you're a top 12 quarterback in the world. You know, like how good you have to be to be at that point of these trashy the bomb, So I get so tired of stuff. Man Coming. He's listen. He's trained. Lance is a two year project that has incredible tools. There's no, he has no collegiate. It's hard to keep up with every week. you know. it's really hard to keep up with all that stuff. Every week i built the dashboards. And then i'm kinda like they're built. What do i do next. I did and i spent listen. I spent more money over the holidays on and gear. Then i spent in two years and i was like okay i need. I need to slow down a little bit. I'm having a good time. I need a new switch. That's the only thing that i've been waiting to buy. You know if you got that discount. Not discount got a great deal on a cisco switch. It's a forty eight port. Poe switch the face plate was all mangled up in a catholic thirty bucks and it worked. Great now i have to program it with cisco language from the command line which is not fun to do. Because i don't know that i'm not assists guy By learned enough to get a programmed But you know there are certain parts that are now only negotiating at one hundred megabits per second and so some things that i really want the unify switch but managed. I can't justify right now when this which is doing its job okay. There's four eight ports on it. When i find whether it's negotiating only one hundred i just move to the next pork. I'm definitely not utilizing all forty eight. A man new unify poe twenty four port at some point. I'm gonna pull the trigger on. That can be great. It's going to integrate greatly with my to unify. Ap's i have in the house as well. Yeah nice i i do. I was thinking about putting a ring. cam in the back. But i don't want that going off all the time like i don't you know what when out there so i think i'm going to look for to wired cam. Cameras like rtsp warns you can pull side out right right so i think i'm gonna look at it one on power i've got. I've got a poll in the back that can mount it on that will get the whole backyard and stuff to figure out where to put the one up but the goal would be not so much security but more just so i can see us on our for. I mean you know hopefully never have to use it for their intended purpose of security. It's all just be right now. Being able to see al back out front. What's going on. I do wanna wired. Wireless experience wasn't great in the end. You know as a messing up. What was going on with the ring camps and some other things so i do think to that point where i wanna run some wire and do power over ethernet and run them out that way. Show me to do it so we gotta be talking you switch for us sometime soon. maybe do some. At least maybe a little airport. I have on the tiny teepee link. Eight port poe switch my attic. Were all those cables. Run up to the run. One cable down into the mainzer anti power. Most of my cameras are based off just one. Poe switch up there and those were cheap nowadays. Yeah yeah yeah. I won't i just have to. You won't be alive. That'd be a camera out front camera back. I don't know if i'm running wire. Maybe two on the sides run a sunday. We'll have some candles and in and run ransom. Cable have to do it in the spring before it gets hot up then hate summertime. Attic cable runs. I've done it many times. Over four minutes now for the Sun Devils USC letting this one by the Mobley brothers. Evan has nine points. Isaiah has six points and seven rebounds. So it has been all Trojans after a little bit of a slow start to it. Josh Christopher scored five quick points for a issue. He has not been able to make a shot since. Sun Devils have been really pour from the free throw line as well, not helping their cause. Issue basketball, though trailing by 16 they've got in the left wing with Alonzo Verge has also been quiet side of one made three Kamani Lawrence, now looking for Woods gives it to him. Bagley at the top of the key. He has nine of a disused 12 rebounds. Christopher Driving Inside, he goes to Lawrence Lawrence shot is missed and They're going to say mother was a Violation before that, so another s u turn over. It will be USC basketball with 3 36 left in the first half. Having Mobley sitting down he's got a couple rests here in the first half should has Goodwin in for the Trojans. Salman on the left wing looking inside for his in and we get an offensive foul. Shiva's Goodwin called for the illegal screen trying to open Isaiah Mobley up. I get it. I wouldn't say it's been a particularly crisply played first half by the Trojans that they still lead by 16 because Not giving him any points. Yes, US 16 points in nearly 17 minutes..

I would say they're two potential possibilities. One is that builders are taking out more permits to build homes in 2021. And the permanent process. It's a several month process. So the builders at least they will be bringing more homes onto the market. So that will be helpful. The second possibility is that a pleat there some homeowners In the environment of Colbert did not really wanted list their home with strangers visiting even with the social distance protocol that would be vaccine availability and 2021. We may begin to Seymour listing show by somebody has a ton of potential home sellers. That's wonderful to know. So Lawrence, Let's take a look around the Yusa. How did the different parts of America do in the latest pending home sales report? Well, the uniformity is that all for major regions. All a slight dip month to month but on any year over year basis all solidly up, But if one looks at the magnitude difference shout, the region appears to be out China and other regions. The warmer weather, especially in the winter man is clearly an attractive feature. But also just general migration patterns were saying people wanting to go to Florida, Tennessee. The Carolinas and Texas where they perceived that this a lower tax environment and we have also seen that business also beginning to decide on their relocation decision to this area, so they may be helping. But I would say overall, the four major regions I'm alert with South getting little head. I see. springs back and holds itself yet yeah and you really did it for the dough mostly you don't really you did for the filling like American donuts have this much filling in and it's just like you can really taste the dough and that's kind of sad because the the the beauty of it is the doe how delicious how delicate you know it's fluffy it's crunch on the outside deliciously moist and goodness on the inside and I love coming up with wonderful tart fillings like Weezer long potter we use nice I make passion fruit jam is a thing that's a Polish thing hello Mister he's thing I grew up with yeah Tom is a Polish thing we love our heart to heart fillings pulls people do not like sweet pastries we you know when we post people come and I'm there like I wanna see desert that's not sweet enough that's the first thing that comes out of the mouth and yet we believe in having something rich pottery full of group Belgian chocolate and walnuts and nuts and lots of beers in a post poll should point towards you know like there's one walnut poppy toward that I make that I literally one liter of vodka goes into the entire thing while because it's that busy but then it has to sit for four days before you can eat it so all that lot of that stuff veterans but the flavor is still there so lot of Polish pastries like our have tons and tons of alcohol and actually European pastries have tons and tons sure think of tiramisu think about fruit fruit cake think of a Kinshasa toward a black forest torte absolutely all have you know somebody said oh you're just you're just you know to contributing to the delinquency of minors I first of all if you don't want rid of them in one day that's pretty when you're cooking the stuff it yeah the potency is is gone by that time now there's you've got the traditional but you've also got some really cool gourmet flavors as well let's talk about some of the traditional ones that you have so the traditional ones are plum butter which we've mentioned before Polish people are crazy about plan which I'm not a guy that brings food and booze into the studio because listeners can't see they can't taste what what I'm doing in here but I will describe this the best they can and you were so kind to bring daughters your big highlight that's that's that's my favorite then rose petal jelly that's very very traditional very Polish and we use real raspberry preserves a local company here that makes the boss raspberry preserves there's just sugar packed in lemon juice and raspberries and if nothing else that plan has a beautiful flavor you know it's a great little tart but I'm I'm chasing sweet because of what you put into the dough surrounding it so I'm getting a little bit of both it is coming in and out that's really cool thank you thank we we try really hard and then some of the other it's nice and tight is good yeah yeah it's it's you know it's it's that's the whole point about plans you kind of want to make the jam kind of to reflect the fruit when you eat fresh plums they're not sugary sweet they have that little bit of sweet and tartness and that's exactly how the jam as the crazy flavors as I call them we have German chocolate we have Jameson whiskey chocolate okay yes you got these drunken get a which I love so Jamison's here Davis is in chocolate custard I'd add that can't wait to taste that when I'm a busy guy but given the low beam yeah but you got this moonshine and lemon and that's what we've got here tell me about the moonshine so the story is I have a my packaging guy bought a house in Kentucky and I said listen Simon when you go over there can you just bring me some moonshine and he when he was getting his house built he asked everybody for moonshine and and everybody would get so upset him there's no moon shining in talking the plumbers electricians that window guys the dark eyes everybody yeah and finally he built his house is sitting on his porch and some guy pulls up right to his to his front stop and he's it's are you the guy looking for moonshiners like yeah he brings out this carton of more of these Mason jars full of money it is like a hundred Bucks the drop that often like drives right off like it was it was like a transaction and have a little remote brings it back you say's Dover I found your moon shine so I said what flavor it would be really good for punchy with moonshine enacted lemon card will make this delicious lemon curd from scratch yeah with lemon juice and butter and eggs and sugar together then we think I spy to it like a little sharpness even yes yeah
