"Okay, so he did wait a little bit until the market opened up is what you're saying. Which look, it's a good point. I would think both flowers and the Patriots want to see what the market looks like. I don't think they'd like handcuffed themselves, right? Before you can really see what's going on. Yeah, and then the other thing would trade flowers, you pretty much summed up why he's a great fit. The one other thing I would say is that they need somebody on that defensive line besides judean and barmore that can beat a block because they have a more good guys and Lawrence guy and Devon God Shaw. I think they thought that guy was gonna be Dietrich wise and that hasn't necessarily worked out and I can look it up here in a second. Miguel probably has it up on pat's cap on his Twitter handle. The Patriots, what they could potentially say by cutting the Turquoise or trading Dietrich wise might actually make this move a twofer, right? Where your brain trade flowers back and you might end up moving on from wise. It's probably the other guy that they thought was going to be that block beater on the line of scrimmage. You got guys like Lawrence guy Devon God Shaw. Those types of players are gap eaters, they're holding the line of scrimmage. They are not guys that are meant to penetrate and get in the backfield and make splash plays behind the line of scrimmage. When the season wore on and judon faded a little bit, barmore never faded. He was abused the entire year. But when judon started to fade a little bit towards the end of the year, I think what ended up happening is it's similar when you have an offense in a receiving core where you only have two guys, right? You have one guy over the top and one guy underneath, right? The O 9 patriots. Right. When you only have two pass rushers up front, then scare teams that can actually win one on one, then you can scheme ways to take both of those guys out. So barmore is an interior player. So maybe they double him inside. And then judean on the outside is getting chipped and he's getting backs and tight ends in his way on the way to the quarterback..

"And that's they did. You know, you could point at the stats and say, oh, wow, was it 70 yard run? They were ahead of the sticks all game long. You know, so what? Third and two, they got three yards. So they did a lot of quarterback sneaks or you know, the colts did whatever they wanted to really on offense in the running game. And to me, part of that was personnel. But look, he's right to be concerned. And on BSG when I predicted, how does this end for the Patriots? I have them losing at home in the divisional round to the Titans for exactly the reason that he's talking about. That the Titans given health given AJ Brown and Julio Julio Brown and Derek Henry, even without Derek Henry, they ran for 270 yards. If they get really, if they have threats on the outside to go along with an effective running game with Ben Jones owning whoever's in the middle of the Patriots line and not being able to hold up if Lawrence guy plays like he did against the colts and gotcha gets moved as well. If that happens, the season is over. That their patriots will not get off the field, it would be a redux of 2019 exactly what we saw when the Titans came in here. So you should be concerned. Is it a fatal flaw? Yeah, it could be. It all depends on the matchup, though. Everything. Like I said, I think they'll be better the second time around against the colts and plus you have a Carson Wentz who stinks. But yeah, if you run into the wrong team, you bet your ass, it could be a fatal flaw. All right, speaking of second time around baby preview and again, you'll talk more about this later in the week, but the bills coming up here on Sunday, it's a hat and T-shirt game. But as we mentioned briefly, there's almost nothing you can take from that first matchup and apply it to this one. So it really is, you know, I don't get cocky if you're a patriots fan because of how the first game went. This has anything you thought about the bills going into that one. You should think about them going into this one. Yeah, I mean, Sean mcdermot postgame speech about whoever the Panthers. First of all, the bills, if the Panthers had a real kicker or any kicker and Cam Newton wasn't canned Newton, they had their hands full in that game. And Josh Allen was crappy Josh Allen again for parts of that game. After the game, he said that the team he's like, we know, we know who's next. You know, it doesn't need to be said. They know they're basically saying like, you know, we owe them one. They came in here, embarrassed us, you know, made us not look good. I look like an idiot on the sideline. They are coming for revenge. And I can't wait to see what happens. Because, you know, I think the Patriots are a better team. I'm going to pick the Patriots..

"All right, let's go in the trenches. I wanna go in the trenches here for a second and let's talk about Devon God shop. Who had probably I don't even probably. He did have his best game of the year as a patriot against buffalo. Now, a lot of the reasons why the bills were trying to double team at different points of the attack on the defensive ends mainly Lawrence guy Dietrich wise, Christian barmore. They saw a lot of double teams to gajas credit..

"And if that's a yes, then I'm fine with it. He's gonna get empty yards because of good play calls because of defensive mistakes that happens for every quarterback and every game. Maybe he had a little bit more this past week than he had in prior weeks. But, you know, hitting the wide open guy to me is doing your job. You know, checking down to a guy if you're getting pressure is doing your job. And sometimes analytically, those things won't come through when in the reality of the situation, that's what happened. I agree with that. I do just want to say that I think the essential question here and the reason why I looked at this. And again, I just use analytics to sort of see if I'm in the realm if I'm seeing things right and trust me. I asked people internally with the Patriots about Mac Jones in this game and I pretty much got the same answer. You know, wasn't good wasn't bad. He was fine. You know, but the thing is, I think what we're trying to answer, and especially, you know, in some of the things we're going to talk about with this matchup and the Patriots in general where they are, is that I think the essential question is is Mac Jones a good quarterback in this league? And I think that this game you would not, in my opinion, you would not use an example to say Mac Jones is really good. He's going to he can be the difference maker for the Patriots. I just think this is not one of those games to say that about. I'm sure there will be there were other games. Dallas, I thought he played great, the dolphins, the season opener. I thought he played great. Those are games that I'm more impressed with than say, this one, even though he went over 300 yards for the first time. That's sort of the point of the discussion. Yeah, stats aren't at the end all be all pretty much. What you see defensively, Greg, after watching everything. Well, first of all, number one, clearly number one. Christian barmore was incredible in this game. I mean, I think I had him for 8 or 9 impactful plays in this game, much more than I thought on the first viewing. I went back and watched it just to make sure on both sides of the ball. Because sometimes I get a little just so people know. Sometimes I get a little rushed, having to do the pod and Felder and as on Tuesday. So my film viewing is not as intense as I would like to be. So some weeks I go back and I dive in more, which is what I did yesterday. And I thought Christian Bahrain was great. I thought Lawrence guy continues to look more and more like his old self, which is great. Yeah. I mean, God shout showed a little bit, flashes, but he he's been dealing with an injury, so we'll see on him. But I thought, you know, some of it was a little like those two plays. The third and fourth down where Lawrence guy and then Christian barmore come.

"And I think we've got to look at this as tough as it is, because, you know, in this debate world, everybody wants to go back and forth and still deliberate about Brady and Belichick, which makes my stomach sick. But, you know, you've got to look at this as an individual team now. You know, this we talked about it during the off season. Yes, they went out and they spent a lot of money, which we both thought, what Belichick needed to do, given the state of the roster. But when you spend the money and you bring in a bunch of new dudes, guess what? You're bringing in a bunch of new dudes. And they've got to figure out how to play with each other in the offense and all in the timing of it and the execution. It's not going to look like a polished finished product in week two. It's just not going to. Speaking of not polished and finished, holy crap, Greg, this run defense stinks out loud right now. What's happening up front? It's bad Nick. It really is. And, you know, some of it you want to put on our unfamiliarity with Devon God chow and you know bar more being out there, but it's everybody. It's similar to offense Nick where with the Patriots offense where, look, these guys need reps together. They need to get on the same page, but I mean, you know, you'd like to see guys like God chow and I thought guy was better in this game. Yeah, he made that area. He was good. Yeah, and yeah, that third and goal. That was a nice play. That was Lawrence guy play that we're used to seeing. So that was promising. But I mean, I had the whole defense for about ten blown gaps in this game, which is them just getting either shoved out of it or going in the wrong one and it's just it's very disjointed. God chow's been a big disappointment so far. I mean, look, even Matthew judon had a big second half, but even he had some issues on the edge with the run and also containing the pass rush. And, you know, I thought Bentley, Bentley made some really good plays in this game, but he also had a lot of rough plays where, you know, he's just in the wrong gap and guys are running through and running free. And Nick, the thing that's disturbing is you're talking about two opponents in the dolphins and the jets who really aren't that good on offense on the offensive line..

"Other second line by doing it this way. But it does feel like Carl Davis was one of the best 53 players in training camp, right? If you want to put it that way. And it's not just that. I mean, he was getting quality reps. He was represented with the ones he was playing like a guy who's going to make routine. You know, first of all, I think they're going to keep its on a depth here. I think Bill looks at what happened last year. They got run all over. They couldn't stay healthy up front. He's not going to let that happen two years in a row. This is a position where he might keep more depth than he probably needs just because he does sort of over correct with these things at times. That being said, if I'm looking at this group who's the odd man out, it still feels like Henry Anderson's job is an entirely safe. I know Bill gave him, you know, when Atlas asked the question, gave him a glowing review. But he was playing late in the game last night. Late into the game. And he still hasn't entirely shown up on special teams, which everybody on this list outside of maybe Lawrence guy, I think is going to have to end up playing special teams this year. So I have them on. Do you see it right there? I think I had him. And when we're done, we can look at, I don't know if you do this. I do the first three next three. I think I had them on there. I was so tired last night. But yeah, Henry Anderson, I think he's a good player. I'd love to see you make the team. I think he can help the team. The way they're using him, they're using them like a guy who they don't plan on having. It's interesting because Belichick had the effusive praise when Atlas asked him the question as you put it not me. And then he's also practiced really well, right? I mean, I compare notes with Greg bedard when it comes to one on ones and Greg and I both have had Henry Anderson for his fair share of wins in one on one girls, right? One on ones inside 6, two on two. All these types of practice drills with these defensive linemen. Henry Anderson has been extremely solid, right? Extremely solid. And then we come out to these preseason games and he's playing in the fourth quarter of the final preseason game. And you're scratching your head and that's why I asked Bill Belichick the question about Henry Anderson because I'm trying to figure out what's the deal with this guy. And my pinell Michael Bennett to a degree even though he made it a couple of weeks, right? I mean, all these guys, this is not unheard of for the Patriots to sign a veteran defensive lineman and to just not have a workout, right? For whatever reason, the system's present click with the player. And Anderson seemed like such an easy system fit. He seemed like a guy that might pinell. Right. So it's possible that he's cut and maybe the Patriots because as Albert rear reported again this morning, there is a lot of interest in a guy like monterrey as Adams..

"About, I thought, you know, Jude on, I want to see more and pads, I thought he did some nice things today, oh, people, people were going nuts about him today. I saw on your Twitter, people were talking about tweeting about how awesome you looked at past. Before I was getting, I was, I was reading this stuff on Jude on Greg and I was practically lactating at work. As I am reading some of these things about what he was doing with pads on it. You telling me, are you telling me chudan wasn't special today? I don't know if I would go that far Nick. I did, you know, he was good. He certainly, he ran around Trent Brown, like, the big man was standing still. What she might have been on, on one rep. But I also do you think, I think I had them for a loss at one point today? Who did I have? Oh yeah, I had him for one one, and one in the past rest real. So he did have a decisive win against Trump round, so that's really good. I thought he looked good on the edge in the running game, which I figured is where he would stand out. Yeah. I do want to point this out and I forgot to put this in my notebook today, Nick. But one thing that I noticed about June is that there was a play where he chased the running back. I forget who was it. Might have been Damien Harris. He chased him like 40 yards down the field and just sort of swipe at the ball and that's the type of play. You don't, you don't usually see. And so I think he's gotten off to a good start with the Patriots but I just I want to watch him more closely cuz they paid him a lot of money and Ed. You know, a lot of guys, get off the strong starts where they are. I just want to see if he stays consistent. I'm not doubting that he's that he's going to but you know it couldn't really tell much money without pads anything but now the pads are on. I want to see more. You got Henry you got Jude on, who's your third guy? You're still kind of checking out here. I would say I know just today I don't want to, I don't want to say much because he's my guy but you know Lawrence guy didn't get off to a great start today. I'm not overly alarmed by that.

"The diversities has to overcome different obstacles over the course of the year. You know, sometimes you start slow. Sometimes you you know, we had a middle middle stretch where we we didn't play Brooke. We didn't play our best. We played some really good football teams. And then sometimes you struggle a little late and you got to get it going. But His team found a way when it mattered most. This he's after hours with Amy Lawrence poor Tom Brady. He had to sleep in his daughter's bed because his nieces and nephews took over his bed on Sunday night. So the Super Bowl champion doesn't even get to sleep in his own bed. Hey, said he got about two hours of sleep, which makes perfect sense. And you could hear the rats Penis in his voice. But it is all worth it no doubt as he has claimed a seven Super Bowl title at this time, part of the Buccaneers. And while we don't yet have the viewership numbers from the Super Bowl, which I expect once they work in streaming, and they consider the places where people were watching at sports bars are out in public limited, but still there were some places around the country where that was possible. On. But for the reason Neil's that needed more time to compile the number so we didn't get them on Monday, but they will be well over 100 million. I would think Maybe the NFL and it's crown jewel. The Super Bowl took a hit, but I don't know. Even my niece who's at Virginia Tech, who doesn't know anything about football, said We tried to watch her and her friends. We tried to watch the 1st 10 minutes, but it was really boring. So we turned it off. But at the very least, the first half of the game will likely Have attracted some pretty joy Norma's numbers through halftime, of course, because that's always a piece that people are interested in, even if they don't love football, so we should get the numbers sometime on Tuesday, But here's what we know already. Not the highest rated market for the Super Bowl, meaning the metro, the city and its surrounding suburbs that had more people watching than any other. Kansas City number one Kansas City had Maura of its residents watching the Super Bowl than any other city, so in terms of percentage is guess what number two was. Not Tampa, Boston Boston Patriots fans whether you were rooting for Tom Brady to succeed or you rooting for him to fail out of the which one it is. Feels like most of the Patriots fans. I've heard from not to mention those who are current Patriots players like Lawrence Guy. We just put that conversation up on our YouTube channels. I appreciate producer Dave making time to do that. He told us why he was rooting for Tom Brady in the Super Bowl s O. I think most of the people I've heard from wanted Brady six to succeed. I feel like that was pretty much the same, though I wouldn't dare to venture a guess about percentages. But I feel like that was pretty much the same line that I heard from from Packers fans after Brett Farve came out of retirement again and again and chose to play for the Vikings, even though it was their rival. Ah, lot of Packers fans went ahead and bought a new Brett Farve jersey and rooted for him when the Vikings got as far as the NFC championship game, so I'm glad for you. I can imagine that there was plenty of intrigue in Boston but to be the number two highest rated market in terms of people in Boston tune into the Super Bowl. That's impressive more than Tab a higher percentage of residents than Tampa. For heaven sakes, 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. That's our toll free line who in the world of sports needs a podcast that doesn't already have one. And we've got some great suggestions on Twitter, a law radio and then also on our Facebook page, Aaron Not the Aaron Rodgers. But Aaron believes that Aaron Rodgers needs a podcast with his knowledge of anything. Aaron Rodgers does a fair number of podcasts. You hear him all over the place. And, of course, he now does his weekly appearance with the Pat McAfee show. But I suppose if you consider the bombshell that he likes to casually drop into his public appearances, I guess it could be something interesting. 2020 was.

"Radio. You bowled out, baby. You both That too. You got it there. Thoma. I get it. It's Tom Brady. It's crunk. I mean, drunk alone now has four Super Bowl rings, all of them with Tom Brady, Which is why they can say it's what we do, because it is what they do a good portion of the time, but at the same time this is different. It's all different because it's not the Patriots. The numbers are not yet out for the Super Bowl, so we don't have the viewership numbers yet. I suspect they'll be well over 100 million people, because what else did you have to do on Super Bowl Sunday? But for whatever reason, Nielsen decided it needed extra day to collect the final numbers, which is odd. I don't know why I can't remember that ever happening before. Sometimes they'll put out the initial TV ratings and viewership numbers, and then they will go back and they will say Okay, here we've updated it with offsite viewing with streaming numbers all that that stuff for whatever reason. They've chosen to wait until they've got all the numbers compiled. So I assume we'll get them on Tuesday s so we don't have those yet. But the market numbers came out. Do you know that outside of Kansas City, Boston had the highest percentage of people tuned in To watch the Super Bowl even higher than Tampa. Now, Tampa's a big retirement area, So maybe that makes sense that some of the older crowd wasn't so interested in watching the Super Bowl. But with the hind key the city in terms of the percentage of people in the city or in the market, who are watching the Super Bowl, Boston was number two. So you all definitely have not for gotten. You definitely have not lost that affection. You haven't lost that loving feeling for one Tom Brady unless you were rooting for him to fail. But according to defensive lineman Lawrence Guy of the Patriots, he was rooting for Tom to continue winning and to continue impacting the NFL in a positive way. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio, I think some of you misunderstood my rhetorical question in my tweet. When I said to you, whatever will we talk about on the show moving forward? I was being sarcastic on. I don't really take suggestions about what to talk about. So spare me your tweets. I don't I don't do talk shows on demand, right? You want that? You could go out and find yourself a podcast. No, no, no, no, no, I don't let people dictate to me What I talk about on the shell. Once you've done this for 20 years, you can decide what you talked about on your own show. But, yeah, I don't I don't take suggestions from listeners generally, but thank you. That may be what you want to hear about, but it doesn't necessarily appeal to the entire nation. So That was not a question that I expected you to answer, however. After seeing the tweet from coach Wade Phillips, who says he would still go back and work in the NFL, But so far the phone has not rung. In the world of sports. He's considering launching a new podcast. Who needs a podcast in the world of sports? Who would you like to hear from? When it comes to a fresh new podcast. Because there are a lot of podcasts out there you have his many years you could possibly want, including ours. After hours, Amy Lawrence dot com where we talk about things that I guess you don't necessarily want to talk about. Who needs a podcast in the world of sports? Who would you like to hear more from 855 to 1 to 4 to 27 on Twitter, a low radio also on our Facebook page after hours with Amy Lawrence, let's talk to Joey, who was in Alabama. Welcome to the show. Yeah. I mean, I've got I've got a couple thoughts on the Super Bowl and And maybe what if it means going forward as well as a podcast pig for you, Uh, start with my podcast pick and and I'll tell you. I think it's gotta be Paul Finebaum and Paul Finebaum just venting about all the crap he listens to on a daily basis from all those folks and just Paul Finebaum pills. All podcast will be amazing. It would be extremely entertaining. E thought he had one. He does. If he does, I would. I would guess it's probably somewhat scripted, You know, So, uh, To a certain degree. I'd like to just kind of hear him. Behind the curtain a little bit, you know? Well, sometimes sometimes hosts and personalities behind the curtain would get them fired. So while I highly doubt that he's completely scripted, that would be like me scripting my entire show. I don't think that that's what most people do. Some do. There are some hosts in our business that do script. Or do you write out what they're going to say ahead of time, but it's It's not the norm, especially not for a four hour show, so, but I would say that, yeah, Generally, there are a lot of people out there that if they were left to their own devices would probably get themselves in trouble and likely wouldn't have a job for very long. Although that is the beauty of podcast is especially if it's independent. You can say whatever you want and not have to worry about what people think. Exactly. I realized it is. It's wishful thinking, and it's never going to happen. You know, Paul has to catch himself on his, uh On his televised show Pretty regularly, uh, keep himself out of those woods. But Either way, as far as coming up to the Super Bowl. You know, we heard it's the end of the other pocket passer. You've got to be able to move If you can't move, you know you're not going in the first round. And I think this Super Bowl was just further evidence that That the game is still built in the trenches is, you know it. Oh, on the line. If you can't hold up there, you can't get anything done. And I think And intelligent and and obviously with the qualities Tom has leadership wise. Work ethic dedication. To his team made Things of that nature can get you a lot further than just being able to move around because who lot thought is are probably is the most talented quarterback we've ever seen in the league. When he didn't have his starting tackles out there. There wasn't much he could do, and So once again, not I just feel like that That narrative should change a little bit that That they shouldn't shouldn't try to kill off the old pocket passer, The standing there is playing it. Uh, kind of quarterback. That's a little more my style because I certainly can't move around like Patrick moms, but I like I like to see him send back there and kind of mentally dice him up, and I think that's something that's gonna hold up for for the foreseeable future. I think it's something that probably hold up to the end of football. To be honest with you as long as you could deliver the football, I don't think anybody cares how you do it. It's if you can't actually throw the football. That's a problem. But if Patrick Holmes couldn't move, he would have died in in the game on Sunday because he was a target here. A sitting duck without his offensive line intact. He if he didn't have the ability to move the game. What about a hell of a lot worse? Um and Tom Brady is still a peer pocket passer. The man does not move. He does have bootlegs when he moves at all. He's not gonna scramble. He's not gonna run and less. You're talking about a wide open field in front of them. So I think as long as you could deliver the football, it doesn't matter if you can run. The issue, of course, is that you have to have a clean pocket. And for Tom Brady. As you point out, there was a clean pocket because his offensive line was dominating and holding the chief's path rush at bay. All right, Joey, Good to talk to you. Thanks So much for your phone call. It's quick it to Bob was in Pittsburgh. You got about 90 seconds. Go ahead. How you doing? I'm good. "Let's round it out at 20 so It's hard to believe even though it could happen. It's hard to believe that's going to happen. 20 quarterbacks changing teams, but I really, really enjoyed his conversation. He said. He counted the various teams and surprised himself because he came up with 20. So that would be the extreme. But certainly you've got teams all around the NFL, not to mention the fans who are poised now to see that Play out this well, great job helping us set up a bunch of these interviews and I agree with you. We had a variety of voices, some really interesting perspectives from guys who played the game Hall of Famer and Jack Youngblood, who has not forgotten about guys that he played with and guys that he played against in his work with the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund and Mike Ditka. We also talked to Lawrence Guy, the Patriots and he's the only Patriot I've talked to this season, and he was willing to dive into the Belichick versus Brady question. He was also willing to take you inside the Patriots locker room and what it's been like in a season in which they lost. They got hammered by San Francisco when he said in the wake of that they had a team meeting and decided they were not going to throw in the towel. They were gonna use this. Difficult season to be prepared and be ready for next year. Now he's a free agent, but he would like to stay in New England. You mentioned I Taylor the way that he described Tom Brady gunning for 1/7 Super Bowl ring, which he calls a week and so Brady would be filling up a full week full of rings, whereas Patrick Holmes to be working on Monday. That was really cool, loved Ashley Caldwell, who we just had on on this edition of the show. Olympian who right now is in Park City, Utah, competing in the first qualifier. She's an aerial skier. She's been to three Olympic Games already, and she's starting the qualification process for 22 in Beijing, Man she is awesome and to have her as well as Amy Trask on national women and girls in Sports Day. Or, You know it was this week. That was pretty cool and Roger Goodell mentioned to the diversity in the NFL, and he agrees that there needs to be more when it comes to head coaches. But he points around the league at the coordinators, and you've got coordinators of all colors. You also have female coaches, full time female coaches. And so he wanted people to remember. Yes, the head coaching ranks still need more diversity. But that's not the only place that you should count the diversity and look at work. Change is being made. By the way. If you're wondering about returning to normal, he doesn't have an answer for that. Don't know when normal is gonna occur again, and I don't know if normal ever will again. I don't know if anybody here can do that. I know this. We have learned to operate in a very difficult environment. We have found solutions and we'll do it again. Like the optimism and the fact that he and a Morris Smith, two of the most powerful men in sports, are collaborating and working together. But on that note, we may have uncertainty about the future. But we know the Super Bowl is taking place on Sunday on time, the date it was originally scheduled. Jeffrey on Facebook, love listening to you in the A. M. Hope you have a great weekend. Enjoy the game. I mean, I feel the same way about you, Jeffrey and about Our listeners. "Said. And, of course, their motto. All year has been. Run it back. Run it back. Run it back! You see it on Patrick Mahomes, Twitter, you'll see other chief referred to it after a big win or in a press conference. Run it back. That's what they've been talking about. Not just since they were celebrating their first Super Bowl in 50 years and wanted to return to the pinnacle of the sport. But if you think about everything the Chiefs did in the off season to try to keep their core group together, and they returned the vast majority of their starters on both sides of the ball. They secured Patrick Mahomes for the future and then some with a record breaking contract. They also managed to pay Frank Clark and Tyrone Matthew and secure other guys. What Rob Gronkowski say I'm thankful for Travis Kelsey because he's raised the pay grade. He's raised the level of pay for so many tight ends around the NFL. So the work that's been done to keep this core group together has obviously paid off. Now it's it's not easy to repeat my conversation with Tyrone Poole just before the top of the hour. He was a repeat Super Bowl champ with the Patriots in 03 No. Four He talks about the target you have on your back every single week. We can week out everybody's gunning for you because you represent the throne and because in order to beat the be the best you have to beat the best, and so we should not underestimate how difficult it is just to get back to a Super Bowl when you are the defending champion. And so there are a lot of great story lines, but it's kind of fun to hear any read. Talk about one more time. On Dhere. They are a year later. Little did we know It's after hours where the Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio, I can't let you in on a little secret boomer a size It is supposed to be joining us here in studio in roughly 15 minutes, and he's not yet in the building. He's got some other responsibilities before his radio show that airs locally in New York City and Nobody that he works with over on the New York side knew that he was supposed to come in studio, but he told me he would be here. So I'm not gonna worry if I look like a dork, and I have egg on my face because I counted on boomer science, and don't you worry, he's gonna have to make it up to us and to our show, But I'm still believing him. I'm still trusting and he's gonna walk in to our studio and hang out with us for a few minutes to talk about Super Bowl 55 before he heads to Tampa as part of The NFL today, or they've renamed it the Super Bowl today because this Sunday it's on CBS, the biggest event of the year. Super Bowl 55 1 of the best quarterbacks in the game, the best of these young stud cubes Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion chiefs against the legend. The icon, the go to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And I love Goats, too, but I just I'm tired of hearing about goats. Coverage begins at 2 P.m. eastern 11 A.m. Pacific with JB and the guys on the Super Bowl today, all leading up to kick off at six Eastern three Pacific this Sunday. Super Bowl. 55 is on CBS, and we're not there and it's hard not to be on site, but so far we're doing well with our Super Bowl blitz. If you missed any of our interviews on this edition of the show or on our hump show. We really run the gamut all kinds of personalities and all kinds of perspectives. And so it's after hours. Amy Lawrence dot com We put the link up on Twitter and on Facebook. Easy to find if you missed Amy Trask. It was really cool to talk to her longtime member of the Raiders front office now with CBS, of course, but to have her join us on national girls and women in Sports Day was really neat because of But the trail blazer in the pioneer that she is not to mention She's a force inside NFL circles and always brings unique insight. We talked to Scott Hanson of the NFL Network who is one of the few on his way to Tampa, host of the Red Zone Channel, and he's part of the NFL network coverage 70 hours of live Super Bowl week coverage. Including NFL Game Day morning coming up on Sunday 8.5 hours. Okay. I'm not going to be watching 8.5 hours on Sunday. I will root for Scott Hanson and for the rest of the NFL network and for our guys on CBS, But by that time I'm gonna be busy with my buffalo chicken dip, and all I want is kickoff. Can we just get to kick off? I'll be honest. I end up with Super Bowl pregame fatigue at that point, but Scott Hanson was so much fun. You'll have to listen to our conversation to understand why he's the Lamar Jackson of NFL Network in the Lamar Jackson of NFL Sundays. TM I I'm just gonna tell you t m I s o. We talked to Scott Lawrence Guy, Patriots defensive lineman. Now He's a free agent coming up, but really good inside about what it was like to play for the Patriots in a down year in a year in which they had so many opt outs, and Tom Brady departed and Their season was was brutal at times, And yet he tells us why it was worth it to play why it was still worth it to play what was happening inside the locker room. I also asked him the question of essentially Belichick versus Brady and which side he's on. Kind of. You have to listen to the interview and then Tyrone Poole, who played for a half dozen franchises in the NFL, won two Super Bowls with New England but also played across the line from Peyton Manning and has some pretty amazing stories about his time. Attending on historically Black college in the South, but now working with Clark, Atlanta University and young men, they're on their football team, so he was a great character to plus it was his birthday. So all of those.

"It's almost the Super Bowl. It takes me a while. Just I'll admit it. I get annoyed by all the pregame conversation s O. We have We haven't given you any of the media sound from Patrick Mahomes, 80 read Tom Brady and Bruce Arians over the last 24 to 48 hours because there's There's only so much they can say. I'm not worried that the chief's barber tested positive for Cove it, but I feel bad for the player and I don't know exactly who it was. I don't remember now. But the player who was in the middle of getting his hair cut and the barber all of a sudden got pulled off the jobs. I hope someone finished the poor guy's hair. I could certainly understand why you'd want to have a fresh haircut. Going into a big event like the Super Bowl. That's what we as females to. We need to have a fresh haircut, Some new highlights or just a spruce up a blowout to not really a blowout kind of a person, but my Grammy loves to get the blowout. So whatever it is, you want to look your best for one of the biggest stages of your entire career. You never know when you'll get back here. So I understand. I hope they bring in a new barber for the Chiefs before they jet off to Tampa coming up on Saturday, But we're in the middle of our Super Bowl blitz. As I say. I'm starting to feel the spirit just a little bit. I think as we go through some of our interviews And as I was talking to the likes of Tyrone Poole, former Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, though his career took him to six different teams in the NFL Lawrence Guy who's a free agent, but just spent this past season, his fourth with the Patriots. He's got a really interesting story to tell. Not only is he really big into charity work, and these last 11 months It's been needed more than ever. But He's the only current New England patriot. I've talked to this season. We we've heard from a grumpy bill. Bella, check on. We've certainly have heard the Expert analysis of why Bella check is no longer a good coach or who won the divorce, so to speak, but from inside the locker room, waiting to hear what Lawrence had to say about going through this season with the Patriots, and why it was all worth it. So he's a fantastic conversation and really enjoyed catching up with him. And he was very open about how challenging this season was as a member of the Pats. But as I say he's a free agent. And so his future right now is in doubt. So weirdly enough. We end up with a pair of Super Bowl champions, both of them having won their rings with the Patriots. But as they say, Tyrone Poole play for a bunch of different organizations, and he's He is the walking breathing answer to about a half dozen trivia questions For those of you who love your football trivia. Your sports trivia. That's Tyrone. If you remember his playing career great, but he's got some pretty cool nerd alerts attached to his playing career and and even going back to his college days. Scott Hanson of the NFL network s o. He is the face and Voice of Red Zone Channel, And I know we talked to Andrew Siciliano, who does the same role or similar role with direct TV. Scott is actually heading to Tampa, so he's one of the few very few members of the media are allowed to be in Tampa. The number I heard was 25 total media people allowed to be at the Super Bowl. Do you know Normally it's 2500. If not more than that, 25 that seems Like a very teeny tiny number. Maybe it's changed, but from the NFL network, which of course, is an NFL entity it's partially owned by the league. There are only a handful of people going and Scott is able to be there in Tampa and so He not only does he have a unique perspective, but he's got more energy than Entire football team put together as those Tyrone Poole. Actually, these two guys, I was trying to suck down coffee in the afternoon catching up with them because we're doing our Super Bowl virtual radio row interviews during the afternoon like we would if we were on site in Tampa and gosh, they could've run circles around me Boomer a science and will join us live in studio coming up in the final hour of the show. So we are just next door from the New York studios that new York affiliate. W F A A. And I know a lot of you Listen from our New York market when you have the opportunity or you check us out on serious XM and listen via radio dot com when our show is not carried, so Boomer is here in the same building with us every morning getting ready for his morning show on W F A N and we're gonna We're gonna make it working here. This will be my first time with a live guest in studio as opposed to a dead get that would be really morbid, a guest in Studio City. I returned to CBS Sports Radio headquarters in July. Haven't seen my boss. My boss has not been back here. There are very few of the producers and production staff that I ever come in contact with, even if they are working on site. Because we're all spread out in terms of our shows and our time slots. I haven't seen anybody except a few of the people who work with the New York affiliate. And so this will be fun to have Boomer and studio Now we, of course, have to make sure that we are more than 6. Ft. Apart s so I'm gonna move. I'll try not to bump any microphones and make a bunch of noise or trip on a cord. You know me? I'm a creature of habit. But I'm gonna move over to the other side of our large studio and make sure that I do not jeopardize boomers trip to Tampa, though I don't have the virus, so that would be impossible to do. Maybe we'll snap a photo or his boomers is hanging out with us here in studio. We'll see if we get a picture to share with you so you can kind of see what it's like inside. CBS Sports Radio studios. So that'll be fun. Boomer does a Super Bowl Week interview with us every year, but because he's still here and not in Tampa, and we're not in Tampa, either. It's it's kind of funny that will do it in person. Normally, he's on the phone with us getting ready for his show. And whatever the side of the Super Bowl happens to be, so this will be cool that he's in studio. And then coming up in a mere 10 minutes. The great Amy Trask and why do we start with this interview with Amy? Well, for a few reasons, Number one. She's one of my favorite people in the entire football industry number two. We're capping national girls and women in sports Day. And so Amy Trask, who normally operates out of California, you may or may not know that, but she's a She's a Cali girl. To be sure, she's actually in New York City because of her her responsibilities with CBS Sports Network and everything else, and so we managed to were sadly not gonna be able to get together. But we've managed to figure this out What we can do an interview, and she she's not Much into the snow. I know that to be sure from our conversations, but I feel like it's perfect that were talking to her on our show on national girls and women in Sports Day. Every now and then I get a female guest of female caller. But very often the only female in the room. There aren't any other females at CBS Sports Radio..

I'm gonna go back to the phones momentarily and get yours. About 20 minutes from now we'll talk with last year's one of the captains for the New England Patriots. Lawrence Guy is going to join us. Speaking of Super Bowls and Bella check, I have questions for him. I'll go ahead and get those out and then Also this hour before I roll out, I want to share some words that I had with Bianca Bellaire w W E superstar Royal Rumble winner she is promoting and helping just to promote inclusion, which I love with the Special Olympics, So don't go anywhere. It's gonna be a packed hour before I roll out. You can always reach me at J R sport brief. But I'm taking your phone calls right now. That's 855 to 1 to four CBS. That's 855 to 1 to four C B s. Now I gave you a new top six list. I gave you my own personal Super Bowl moments and just to give you a recap. I gave you Joe name if winning Super Bowl three and 69. I went to Super Bowl 47 when the lights went out in the Superdome when the Ravens went over the Niners, and it was Ray Lewis last game, John Elway finally getting over the hump with the Packers and and Terrell Davis and 1998. A Brady the Falcons their comeback Kurt Warner. This guy came out of nowhere and then also, the Titans almost came out of nowhere and won the Super Bowl. But they did not. And then one of my favorite moments, which I had at number one. Was Eli Manning his throat and David Tyree, the helmet catch and they're so many moments because there have been 50. Four Super Bowls were getting ready to pull up on 55. OK, Tom Brady will have participated in 18% of them. What is your favorite Super Bowl moment? We're gonna finish here on the phones and then a conversation with current or former New England patriot will see where he goes. Lawrence Guy 855 to 1 to four. CBS Does 855212. Four, CBS. Let's go to Jerry. He's calling up from Washington, D. C. Jerry you on CBS Sports Radio. What's your favorite Super Bowl moment? My favorite moment. 1988. Denver versus But Washington Football club Does Williams gets hurt in the first quarter Me banged up those to the bench. J Strata comes in great shape. Looks like he was all over. The place does limps back in. I knew something was gonna happen. I said, Wait a minute, Something don't feel right about to blow it up. What did he do for what touched down in the second quarter? The Redskins women they would arrest him back then does William M. V. P to the most beautiful spirals I've ever seen in a game and a Super Bowl Doug Williams. Well, I'll tell you this jury and thank you so much for calling from Washington D. C. I told you one of the moments that stood out to me. Was John Elway getting over the hump? That was one of the humps that he had the overcome. Put it to you that way, John. No Way, man. He lost three of them before he got those last two with the Denver Broncos. Doug Williams, also the first African American Quarterback to get the job done in the Super Bowl. Travis. He's calling up from Oregon. Travis, you are CBS Sports radio. What is your favorite Super Bowl moment? All right. I grew up in the bay area and I was born in 80 s. So I'm lucky to have a few good ones in there. Um, a few growing up growing up a Niner stand, but my personal favorite was 94 win. Went Steve Young monkey off his back moment. Some real sweet, sweet touchdowns a jury right in that game. I think you threw for six touchdowns and he was like the ended up the Niners leading rusher in that game. So just sort of his Crowning moment in his career was really fun to see and also Niners, always, you know were known for their offense, so they had some great defense is along the years and that team they picked up Dionne in the middle of the season and that to me, and if you look at that roster and their starters at every position group I guess they put I put them in the top five all time defense suspect especially that secondary. They had Eric Davis. And Dion on the corners, and Eric Davis obviously went off tol the Panthers and had several more great season They had murdered Hanks and Tim McDonald. That safety Mike That's my all time favorite secondary as I loved all those guys, especially Merton Hanks of the chicken, dance and everything and They were really fun to watch. And finally we'll beat the cow. Those good cowboys teens and stuff. Yeah, that one by far really stands out to me. I love that love that Super Bowl Travis. Thank you so much for sharing from or again. I know the Dallas Cowboys, a surprisingly Well, maybe not. No one is called and given me a cowboy's moment. No, it's it's been a while, but no one has given me a cowboy's moment. What's going on here? The only Cowboys moment I heard was when the Steelers knocked him off. Let's go out to Louisville. Let's talk to Kevin. Kevin, you want CBS Sports Radio, The general sport Brief show. What is your favorite Super Bowl moment? Good Prelude Jr. Love you, man. Hey, man. About Dwight Clark..

He is a bad man on that football field. I'll be real interested to see you know how much longer he can continue. His work and then early on in the show. We had. Sorry, Bradshaw. He came through and joined us. We had a conversation about coaching. We took a look at Bruce Arians. We took a look at Andy Reid. And yes, the game might come down a coaching. Like most people like myself. Sorry, Brancheau. Although he is friends with Bruce Arians. He believes that Andy Reid has a leg up so too great interviews to start. You don't want to go anywhere later on in the show. We'll have a conversation with Bianca Bel Air. She's doing amazing works with the special Olympics. She also just won the W W E Royal rumble. "And how it appears that the Saints want Jamis Winston back, and if they want him back, you would assume that they want him back as the starting quarterback, because I think you also have to be fair to the player. If you're bringing Jamis Winston back when there is an opportunity to start this year, it wasn't like last off season. This offseason is different. There's so many QB openings even though there were openings last year, Jamis sat a year he should be a starter again. Now. Is he gonna have an abundance of success? We'll have to wait and see what this year really did mean to him. But you go through division by Division Patriots on have a QB set in Stone. Dolphins. You would think it's too Ah, Must've they trade for Ducharme Watson the Jets. They could trade for it to Shawn Watson. But If they don't. They're going to move on from Sam Donald and try to go with someone else in the draft. Or I would doubt that they bring in Jamis Winston a F C West. You hear this latest report last night that we were talking about that some teams may be interested in given two first round picks up for Deborah Kerr. I wouldn't do that. The Broncos. I don't love Drew lock you go to the A F C North. You know Lamar's there? Stay. Baker's there to stay. Joe Burrows there to stay Big Ben. We thought he was coming back. Now, it seems as if that's not 100% certain that he'll be back. How could Jamesway infinite They like to move on from Big Ben Be the next guy in Pittsburgh. And C South tunnels under contract. Colts need a quarterback. Jackson's gonna be in the market for a quarterback because they're gonna trade to Shawn Watson. You would think Jacksonville's getting Trevor Laurence. And then in the NFC, Washington needs a quarterback. I don't know if Daniel Jones is a franchise quarterback, Dak Prescott. They got to get that contract done. Philadelphia the latest today You heard it from Adam Schefter. We'll get to that later on the program. And Adam Schefter had to guess if Carson wants is on the Eagles roster or not come to start a 2021 season. He would say he's not so Carson wants could be traded. Tennessee West Ramp just got Stafford Seahawks. They have Russell Wilson cardinals of Kyla Murray 40 Niners. I don't know if Jimmy she's gonna be back next year. There's I would hope too risky is not back next year. Her cousins. I guess there's now a market for him. Maybe San Francisco. I'm not a believer and Kirk Cousins line just got golf. Roger's safe for now in Green Bay and the NFC South Saints. Maybe they do go Winston. If not, they're going with taste smell. Buccaneers will have Brady back Panthers. I don't believe in Teddy Bridgewater and the Falcons appear to be continuing to roll with Matt, right. So if you're not going to make Jamesway instant a starter, go let him florist or try to Florence with someone else. But since we just had Lawrence guy, it gets me thinking about what's the future for Cam Newton? I'm not going to say that Cam is definitely not coming back. I thought for a little bit. And then things just went really south towards the end of the season in terms of production, But I thought for a little bit Once you got past this, the Seattle game, which was just great, but I even thought middle of the season when things weren't going all that well, that maybe Cam could come back his belt check never criticized him publicly. And you even hear Lawrence guy? Even with them missing the playoffs and knowing that they came up short. You could tell that there was some positivity not with the great roster. That roster stinks in New England. It's not a good roster right now. But they did look at some things in a positive way because they got through the season and a pandemic of the Patriots have a ton of cap space. I got a new early draft pick. Which they're not used to have him. Maybe Bill's going to be aggressive, and maybe Bill's gonna spend If you made me guess now, as we sit here on the third day of February while we're in February. That's it registered for me for one reason or another all throughout the week, But I mean, you know, I think, a guest on the third day of February in the year of 2021. Is Cam gonna be back next year? I would say no. Then the question is, who's gonna be your guy? Do you take a quarterback? In the first round. Is it a Mac Jones? Would just sign a Jamis Winston. I wouldn't mind. Signing Jamie's Winston, quite, frankly, also You wonder what the Jamie's deal's gonna look like? Because that's gonna be the tricky part with Jamous. Would think he's looking for a long term deal. But we barely saw him in the field this year. For the Saints and When Drew Brees got hurt, they went to Taysom Hill. So what's the contractor to look like? Is it a one year deal? I would think it's good, right? Don't you think? Trace? I don't know. Maybe I'm dead wrong here. If you had to guess, Jamis Winston. You think it's more than a one year deal, especially if there's a healthy market form. That's a it's kind of tough right because it's like Everyone knows he has a lot of talent. And like you mentioned before, want to commit 34 years, Right? Do we know the turnovers were out of this system? And you know, we only saw him in what 30 snaps understood and champagne system in the span of a few games. We don't really see him so It's The only person who knows for sure touchdown, though. Yeah, that was a beauty. There's only one man who knows for sure if he's worth the money and multiple years whose champagne Right? I mean, he saw him practice. He he, I guess knows. He's sort of revealing his hand a little bit, and he wants it back. So you gotta think he's liked what he saw. But then what flexibility to the Saints have when they're 100 million over the cat. They're gonna That's one of the fastest trades and they're gonna want to bring him back. But maybe Jamie's goes Hey, I'm in a good spot right now. This coaching staff believes that may I'll take a team friendly deal. Because Jamie's already has all the money in the world. Endorsements. The contract all that stuff? He's he's got enough money. But when you are playing, you want to get the most amount of money possible, so I'll be curious to see what Jamie's values. I really would. Is it a short term deals about good environment is about winning. Or is it about just getting the most money in the longest feel possible? Whatever he does you no good for him. I look at a team if I had to give you what you take out the Saints. For example, I give you one team in the ass. He wants you in the honesty and the James wants the market. I'd be intrigued, but In the A F. C..

"We'll head out to the guests line right now, as we continue to inch closer and closer to Super Bowl Sunday, and we'll talk to someone who I think is one of the more underrated defensive lineman in the National Football League. Personally, He's one of my favorite from the New England Patriots and that, of course, Is Lawrence Guy, Lawrence. Appreciate the time Have you been I've been that today, you know, enjoying this Florida weather until today when I hit 59, But how about yourself 59 degrees. I wish I had 59 degree weather had said to walk to work and we had snow everywhere. We got over a foot, so it would be a little bit of race. I won't say two days ago with 85 degrees. Man. This was done in short insurance search. I'm jealous of that. Hey, right out of the gate. Let me start you off with your foundation. Tell me about the Lawrence Guy Family Foundation. You know, the Lord God Family Foundation is helping disadvantaged families in the community. You know we would do a lot, too. Support the community that they support us every single Sunday be supportive when you walk out the door and have a helping hand for anybody that is in need or struggle of it. It's the best thing you could do as a person. You know you ain't bigger than nobody else That's next to you are in the room you could do is try to help out the person. That need a little bit of helping, and everything we do is not hand out. You know, I hate when people like you just don't hand out. We're not doing handouts. We're building the roots in the community. Um, everywhere we go. And we continue to keep up with the progress with those organizations that we work with is not something that we drop in here and there, put a whole bunch of media tweet out there and call it a day. No. We're there to stay. We're there to continue the program for every single year. So you have something to look forward to or somebody miss out on a year. President had a family issue or because they were old enough or because they wasn't a part of the program. And I just heard about program because it does. We have thrown You're still able to come back the next following year. Or if you continue to come back, because, you know, think this doesn't change in a year, and you know you need a little bit of help us some more. He always there and that's the best thing about The foundation or Watson. I've always wanted to put roots somewhere and consistently be there. We've been doing it for 10 years, and we put a name to it for future references for when that like that, That kid comes in and says, Hey, I wasn't in this program before years ago, But now I am. When I'm I look forward to your inner peace Every year. I look forward to the help and five years down the line that that same kid to help somebody else out in life that they see that something stronger than a little bit as a means a little bit of hope in hand. Like the whole thing says, you know, Justin and prayer of poem When they said When, uh you know, he looked at God God told him Hey, I'm always gonna be with you, he said well, I look back to the rough part of my life here is only two full sets to one footstep feet in the sand, he said. He's always with me and he said, plotting and carrying this hallway into you is able to walk on your own. That's the same thing. People need a little bit. Help me a little bit more courage, mint. They need a little bit mental help. So we're there to help that out with their two guy without a lead by example for somebody to do that in the future for somebody else. Perfect message from Lawrence Guy from the New England Patriots. When we talk a little football, usually you guys are are in this big game or make it a deep playoff run. This year. You lost. Tom Brady didn't go your way. You finished up seven and nine. Just how do you look back and describe this season? What was truly a bizarre season for Patriots standards? Emma. It is the season that happen. You know, we didn't win games that we wanted to weigh. Uh, but you can't drop your head down and look at it like, Hey, man. We did this way. We're confident something Every 30 years or conference we played in the season. Well, lot of partner felt it out because of family reasons. He played in the feeding where we didn't have a lot of many can't we didn't have a lot of time in building it was weird. Season to be a part of my compared to the lockout season. Malone a bit don't sing differences that during the lockout in 2011, you was still able to work out during the condemning 2020 season. Everything was shut down. So I got the differences is the body wise? But do what? We're confident this year. You happy proud of because we fought through the diversity that occurred during the season. We got shut down way did no obstacles We flew and play on the same date in complete competed that game. In dealing lose by that much, But I have had opportunity to drive in, came out to the last Syriza and in place so that you could be proud of all of the men that shot there. And play your heart out. Didn't really this is going to topple. Um that's how I look at the season we were still in power. Well, I'm happy with with with the players and what we use ever do as men and grow this on and record, you know, we lost. Um it's disappointing. When you lose games. Everybody could be honest, like Hey. Was held on one more game, which we went to the playoffs, but we did it, but all you could do is take That and learn from it. Okay. Now we have to move, move forward and get better as you want to see if you're not on the team, you always look back at that season like this is what I need to do to get better because this was a very hard time and you only get better by looking a car top. And that game that you were talking about that you flew out on the same day. It was that Kansas City game and it was after when Cam did get covert and you were without him. Can you just take me through that mentality? Because that first half really you had the Chiefs in check, you know, with your defense going up against their offenses? What's the mentality all the times you played Kansas City take me through the preparation. When you prepare for Dolly in the homes, but everyone else that this Kansas City offense has to offer. You know, um That's great. The best preparation you can go and get my oldest child, eliminate those big plays that Kurt, Um he's able to make plays on the feet and buys all of it and Uh, do you like, why receivers and tidy if he has lines go clicking all on one page, but trying to keep him in a pocket. You know, Um he's very mobile, and he could go out outside of parking fell across his body. He don't want under arm and do all that. So that makes it challenging. Like this one. The things it's like, How do you defeat that is do your job. Stay in coverage, staying? Your gap? Don't come out of coverage. You're gonna try to get it stopped. Hold him. He looks like he's going to run saying that same coverage. Make him run if he runs. Okay, Cool. He's gonna people. You're less you, Artie. He will do if you felt the ball 2040 yards down the field because you came out of coverage to go get him. Also do your job game, and if you continue to do that, you could manage the big place that he's able to make it with bombs and steep But if you sit there and get out of coverage Break attain. I'm running inside and give him a free laid up the middle. But just like a middle open, he's going to take advantage of that. So you have continued to maintain their responsibility and understand. It's not about how many big plays you could make as a player about how many big plays you could stop after a unit. Lawrence guy here with us. One of the monsters you just said, is do your job. You know, that's an expression that's been synonymous with the Patriots for over 20 years. It's part of the Patriot way and everything that falls under the Patriot way umbrella..

"lawrence guy" Discussed on ESPN Chicago 1000 - WMVP
"Okay? It's very difficult, though, George And why is that? Just because kind gets to take out Urban Meyer when he was him on his $400 million yet, and we have to take out Maggie to give sense and tell him not to order the Tomahawk steak. You shouldn't hold that against stuff. You're right. You're right. You're right where we are ingrates. We should We should appreciate way should appreciate what we have there ingrates to keep spending money. Keep feeding our 22 families. We're gonna put out their whatever we want. We're getting a little sick of it. George, We appreciate your call will try to be better for you. Okay. Thanks. Charge will be he'll be watching us. Yeah, You know, that's the way it comes off Urban Meyer. That's okay. You could have urban Meyer. Uh, Urban Meyer was really good is the thing with college coaches and I'm just I'm not a big college football fan. Eric. Maybe you can. You're not a big college football fan, either. But the one thing about football so we shall really way too deep into every one of these days, well as black and the dollar they could go on for hours about it because they love college football. College football programs are good. When they get really good talent. It's about recruiting crew while you win. That's that's college. People say, Well, save It is so good. Yeah, he's got like the best players to come out of high school. Every single have years saving and put him where somewhere else right in the pros. I see you see what happened was saving is he wanted Jew Breeze to come to Miami. They didn't want him. He went to the saints. He got mad and walked away. That's what happened and imagine, if you got your briefs. He may have been in the NFL for a long time You may have been, he may have been as just like Urban Meyer now Urban Meyer was Urban Meyer because he was in Florida and Ohio State. We'll see how he is in Jacksonville. They have the number one pick, But yet we'll see. We'll see what a guy like Trevor Lawrence guys can do with the other talent that they have down there, right. And the difference is like the Panthers just hired Matt Rule who's from Baylor, and like he was known for having this innovative offense, right brought a guy in there upon offense over Myers just bringing a guy in there to run the show. Yeah, The whole thing is, the guy on the poster is supposed to players. That's college football. I know it's a whole different sport. You can't you can't build your team The way colleges were able to build their organizations. You can do it. You can Me on the backs of free labor. Yeah. Can't you just can't do that? And again, I've getting an education. Which they should use her something if they ever go to class, Let's go. Logan Square and Raoul Raoul. What's up? What's going on guy? Yeah, You know, I'm just I'm just seeing how the bears operate with this regime. The way they've been dishing out money to back up quarterbacks. Just a safe TBIs keys. Ask, you know what I'm saying? It's kind of disgusting because you figure they gave Mike Glennon 16 They gave Chase Daniel three years at about maybe 15. Then they picked the falls. And then next thing, you know, two biscuits gonna be on the market where they're gonna do. They're going to give him a one year contract at about 15 to 16 million. Just try to see if it makes it work. Now there's a reset button if you will decide to give Alan Robinson A franchise tech. I can't receive you. He's gonna hold out. You will hold out and then you know, why is he gonna find when they ain't got a quarterback? And then they were gonna give it to biscuit again. Doesn't mention that he had a great quarterback His. That's what the amazing he's got a struggling to have a career ending injury, Maybe with Stravinsky going up the middle This. This is discussing the way we run this operation. I'm sick of it. You know what I'm saying? It's it's terrible. I know there's a lot of people run will appreciate you calling to passion. A lot of people are sick of it. A lot of people are tired, I think, how do we send the mess station? If we don't have season tickets? How do we send that message? I mean, we have, but how do they actually, How did they actually really feel it? I think they know it. I think they know it right now, Um Anyway, he says, will be all the way it will affect them as they get hit in the pocketbook. Well, they did get hit the package both easier. All NFL teams. Okay? Everybody did. Yeah, and now they're going to hope that it it comes back. And next year and they'll be able to get some people in the stands or whatever, but, yeah, they know. They know you're frustrated. That's the one thing. I don't think the bears the Bears organization isn't Just don't say that Bears organization is the stupid. That's hard for me to. They know they're not stupid. They know that the fans are excited are they are smarter than they look. It is a bold prediction. Are they? Are they smarter than their acting? And look? Is that what you're saying? Had a better way to say they're smarter than we think. No, no, no, They're not smarter than we think. I'm looking here. I wanted to make sure Alan Robinson with 102 catches this year and 1250 yards. It's hard to say. That you can put up with a better quarterback. He'd do better because he was C and yards. He was 15678. He was ninth in the NFL in total yards. Yeah, I don't agree about you know the quarterback. Issue. Look, Mitch is not the guy and we are doing patchwork year to year to year. It's just this patchwork. That has kept us going in that position, But there's also makes it sound like okay, I'm bringing up these numbers. So why wouldn't you sign him for this much money? I just don't think that the Bears at this time can afford to spend 18.5 or $20 million on a guy to be your white receiver, right? They've got other things to do. They're just not there yet. Yeah, the top receivers and yards. Stefan Diggs, Travis Kelsey of tight at which is amazing and 1400 yards. DeAndre Hopkins, Justin Jefferson, the rookie in Minnesota, Calvin Ridley, second year 2nd and 3rd Year guy down in Atlanta. Divide. They actually is one of the second or third year guy divides the atoms, then DK Metcalf, Terry Kill and Alan Robinson. So Alan Robson's right behind Terry kill, and it's funny that you look at it touchdowns. Re kill 15 Alan Robinson, six. That's a big difference. You Allah. Robinson's yards are a lot of yards in the middle of the field, Tyreese Hiller and in the end zone 50 years, that's a big difference. When you look at the touchdowns were all these guys. Alan Robinson has the low well, DeAndre Hopkins had six but everybody else digs would. Eight Kelsey 11 Jefferson seven. Ridley, nine. Davante Adams. Disgusting. 18 DK Metcalf, 10 Terry kill 15 Darren Waller behind Robinson and yards, but he had nine touchdowns..

Patriots Defense Needs Fine Tuning In The Off Season After Run Defense Dooms Playoff Chances in Miami
"Let's get into a little bit of games specific stuff everything again. Obviously a nice run defense is a thing. I don't think it matters much in the long run. But this was for against a dolphin team that really doesn't Rush the ball that well. This was fairly surprised. Well, I just think it comes back to the fact that really all year long. I've kind of thought that flying under the radar was the Patriots lack of first and down first and second down Edge Defenders game that can really said a sturdy edge of that's the scheme that they're going to continue to run moving forward and they're not going to go to some of these one gabbing penetrating style defense has that we see more and more across the NFL if they're going to stick to the boss two gabbing style. They are going to have to upgrade at Edge this offseason whether it's a guy in free agency that they bring in or someone like that and I think last year was Van Noy and Collins and and suck on and so forth. I think we got a little bit. I don't know. I think Bill thought that he could plug in play certain guys there like a Simon like some of the rookies like a winovich and it just hasn't really worked out that way. So I yeah, yeah, and and that I think has been the linebacker level is a problem too. I think really the whole front seven needs an upgrade in a lot of spots and they could use a nose tackle. Certainly that could eat up some blocks in the song. Along with Lawrence guy, but not being able to set the edge of the defense and really failing multiple times and doing that today. That was a big big problem for them against the Rams as well. It's been a problem all year. The Niners game with the Niners ran all over him that was often off the edge or attacking those Edge Defenders. So guys like John Simon, you know, he's a great Patriot. He's at that lunch pail type of guy bring the heart hath to work all that kind of stuff. But at the same time that player maybe works out a little bit better when you have a Dante Hightower and you have a Kyle Van Noy and you have Jamie Collins you have guys on the defensive or I can defeat box. And now when they don't have that Talent around a John Simon is easily exposed and if somebody that's a little bit, you know more in the conversation as like a regular every-down player, which has been a major concern on the edge setting setting the end of the defense against the Run. We all want to talk about why when if it doesn't laying why would if it doesn't play well that big thirty five yarder you can see that's cool. Winovich isn't playing. He got bullied right off. The ball doesn't do enough dream aswell yet. You know, I mean it is what it is. Right? And and that's just a this front seven of the defense was a concern going into a year. It was a concern all season long and then it kind of figured itself out in certain matchups against Baltimore against Arizona. They had some good run defense games, but they'll big picture and large picture is that the run defense in the front seven needs a lot of fine-tuning in the offseason. That's for
