He will there He is expected to be fined by training camp. Let non throwing shoulder right, non throwing shoulder labor, um, surgery. I mean, you never want to hear labor, um and shoulder and surgery, but Don't non throwing shoulder can't be that huge. Now you do wonder he takes a big hit gets lands on that shoulder. Look, too. I had a lot of injury concerns coming out, and he didn't look great this year. So, yeah, different injury of it, and Trevor Laurence is like 65 to 20. I still think guys that run that he had against Ohio State in the playoff. Not this past year with the beer before, is like up there with the Tommy Frazier run against Florida. Mike Vick Falcons run against the Vikings. The Steve Young run, uh in the playoffs. I think that was against the Vikings. It's just one of the all time great runs travel. I'm just such a Fanboy of Trevor Laurence.
Lawrence's pro day impresses as surgery looms
"Trevor Laurence got one last chance to throw for NFL teams before the draft as he held his Pro day at Clemson on Friday. Lawrence is the presumptive number one pick, and instead of going through the motions, he decided to throw in front of 17 NFL teams in attendance. Former NFL quarterback and Lawrence's quarterback tutor Jordan. Palmer gave an explanation of the decision, saying quote. The reason he wants to throw is he loves ball and he has nothing to hide and quote is early pro day was due to the fact that he's going to have surgery. On his non throwing shoulder for a Tauron labor before the draft, so he's ready to play in time for the 2021
Electronic Arts Plans Return to College Football Videogames
"For you. E got kind of excited for distant sliver to second thinking you were talking about, Maybe possibly everything opening up 100% in the state of Indiana. That's why I thought you may be talking about they are they are in Nebraska. So I just thought maybe maybe that was the big announcement concerning business. Unfortunately, I'm wrong. This one actually has to do this first one. I didn't even know because I wasn't a big video game guy was never. I didn't play a lot of those college football games from EA sports back in the day, but there hasn't been College football video games for like a decade now, right? Maybe maybe longer. Shorter hammer since 14 4004. Okay, so it's okay. EA Sports came out with college football in this had the Michigan quarterback on the cover Denard Robinson Robinson, and after that, Copyright issue came in, and players wanted to get paid for their likenesses, and all the college video games had to come to an end. Well now It sounds like college football. Maybe coming back. EA Sports. The folks who make the football video game are re booting college football starting next year. Now there's no other information about this of whether they've reached some sort of agreement with the N C. A or if they're going to be paying for the use of lightness is and all that kind of legal stuff has of the N C. A a kind of loosened the rules a little bit for some of these players and their ability to make money off their likeness and personal appearances and things like that, right? You can, like set up shop and get paid for your autographs and let's say your Trevor Laurence of Clemson. Hey, this Saturday Come on down to Nigel's Bar and Grill. Trevor Laurence was going to be there signing autographs. You couldn't do that

Dr. Larry Arnn on the Impeachment of Donald Trump
"I wanted to ask your thoughts on the impeachment proceedings of this week and whether or not It is constitutional for the Senate to try a president who has left office. Well, there's so first of all these arguments on both sides, and they're pretty ably made in the Washington Post lately in a And the article You sent me my my clue. Big, great. The great retired judge. And another by Laurence Tribe. And, uh, First I'll tell you what I think. And I'll tell you the arguments. What I think is Impeachment is a special process, especially as regards the chief executive because there's a problem to solve. In Britain that forever the sovereign was the King and the chief executive. And there wasn't really any method to remove him. They, You know, in the in Charles the first they cut off head, but they weren't really ever able to establish a British law that would let them do that. Um, And that's because Executive is in charge of prosecutions. How do you prosecute the executive? And it's sensitive because anyway, you prosecute him. Anybody who has the power to prosecute him could conceivably take over the executive. In our country. The executive is elected and that would mean toward in the well of people. So they did a brilliant thing they contrived. They contrived that the two political branches would take on a somewhat judicial function. And one would accuse him and the prosecute him and the other would try him. That would mean then that there would have to be a sort of consensus in the nation. The political forces in the nation, and it would also, however, operate under some rules of law. They would present evidence and have cross examination. So that's what they did. And that's Ah. That's where two really well Uh, the point is, What about Private citizen, which is what Donald Trump will be in a few days. And So I the reason I think a private citizen cannot be prosecuted is because if you read, you know, they're six mentions of impeachment in the Constitution and Is it to have Marin? If, after the Three M. Marin articles one and the two of them are an article to and what I'm is an Article three. So the dimensions the second one is the most interesting one. Senate shall have the sole power to try impeachments. Uh, Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than two removal from office. And the conjunction Disqualified disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor trust or profit under the United States.
Laurence Tribe says Trump should be impeached again even if a Senate conviction is unlikely
"Professor tribe welcome back to the podcast. It's been three years. Wow it doesn't seem like three years seemed like three months but you know time is very both compressed expanded these days. I wonder if it'll feel different after january twentieth. One can only hope and pray. That is why we are here because we need to have a discussion about what could possibly happen over the next nine days and right now the entire conversation happening in. The country is about the insurrection by domestic terrorists on the us capitol on january sixth and what form of accountability. should president trump have for inciting his followers and supporters to do that to the capital. And i wanna walk through each of the each of the proposed things. And let's start with the one that you and i both agree on and that is impeachment. The president of the united states should be impeached. A second time. Talk about why you feel. It's important that that bit of accountability happen first of all. No president has ever in our history done anything as obviously subject to impeachment. This is the quintessential high crime and misdemeanor the head of the executive branch. Fomenting violent insurrection and sedition against the legislative branch in an attack. The vet was apparently quite orchestrated but even if not president's involvement in it in a visible way so obvious that for us not to make him the first president in our history to be impeached. A second time would send a terrible signal to all future presidents to kids growing up in this country to the world that this is somehow not a high crime and misdemeanor so that if if the only effective in teaching him was purely historical marker that it lay down. Even if that was the only effect it would be indispensable but it isn't the only effect. There's a chance that it will put pressure on the senate in particular on mitch. Mcconnell to stop dragging their feet and to move more expeditiously after all the trial of president. Trump i don for his other impeachable activity involving trying to extort the crane in order to benefit himself in this very election. That whole trial just took three days. And when mitch mcconnell says as though it were written in the stars we can't come back until january nineteenth. When asked by the hell not. I mean it's a completely artificial propositions so pressure on him to actually reconvene the senate and have a trial. Which shouldn't take long. Because this was one of those rare instances. Both the initial attempt to pressure the secretary of state of georgia referenced burger to undo the results of the election and the follow one riot that the president fomented attacking the capital in leaving people dead. All those were in plain view of the american people end of the world. So it's not a very complicated trial and the result of that trial even if it didn't end until two days before the end of this presidency by natural processes occurred would still result in his conviction removal and disqualification. Assuming that was also voted from ever holding future office. Not as a vindictive matter but as a way of permanently killing this cancer. Exciting it from our national politics. Even if that doesn't happen james clyburn. Another have suggested that the trial could occur after the biden administration had time to get up and running spent one hundred days actually with constructive measures and then even though he's no longer president. Trump could be convicted and permanently disqualified. There are some scholars soup. Think that that is not a constitutional possibility but the evidence is pretty strong. That that's one option open to the congress and if you think about it the framers in designing the constitution would hardly have wanted to design it so that a really dangerous precedent could resign the moment before it looked like the senate was going to convict disqualify him and thereby cut short. The ability of the senate to perform the constitutional function of excising cancer from our politics is. It can't be that by the mere act of voluntarily ending his presidency a moment earlier that president could prevent the congress from doing its work and what that implies is that even though it is impossible for the senate to remove a an officer like the president. Because he's not removable anymore. He's removed himself ton. That clock has run even if it's impossible for it to remove him. It has the power to decide. Probably by amir majority vote that he should be disqualified from ever again holding federal office so those are among the reasons to go ahead and the final reason i should just mention is that an impeachment would hang over his head like the sort of damocles have been impeached that if he makes another terrible move for example if each is to pardon all of the people who were physically involved in the insurrection of the capital giving them a pardon from any federal prosecution if he were to do that then maybe that would suddenly motivate his removal and disqualification and so the deterrent also has a protective function for all those reasons. His impeachment think is mandatory. Unless of course he just resigns or pence response of will be asking me about the twenty fifth amendment tense response to the twenty fifth amendment called. It's going to be made upon him
College football underclassmen who intend to enter 2021 NFL draft
"College football game coming up on Monday night, two championship game between Ohio State in Alabama. And they're going to be a whole bunch players in that game that will hear their name called any NFL draft. Later, the here in 2021 here to give you some football inside he comes to you. The NFL Today on DA is a draft analyst for pro football network dot com. Tony pulling good enough to give us a couple minutes of his time tonight. Tony. How was your New Year's? I hope? Well, it was good. As with the whole holidays. Thank you for having thank you for asking. And thanks for having me back. No, My pleasure. Thank you for coming on board mentioned the championship game to be played on Monday, either as per your latest mock or if you've been getting ready to write up a new one after the game's over and done with How many first round picks do you think we will have in action on Monday night? Yeah, I think there are seven solid first round picks. I think there's a potential for as many as 10 to go in the first round from this game Monday, so It's Alabama Heavy, but Ohio State is well represented the game. Well, there's one guy in particular. I do want to ask you about coming from the Ohio State side Nets their quarterback, Justin Fields, I was a huge fan all offseason. Cute. I was a big fan of his coming out of high school when he was right there with Trevor Laurence is debatable. The number one player in the country goes to Georgia can't break through. Decides he'd rather transfer than staying compete goes to Ohio State has an unbelievable year last year. Had a mediocre year this year. Now you could explain it with covert and shortened schedule and whatever else then at a pretty poor Big 10 championship game. Followed by the game of his career in the N C. A. A semifinals Have you at your noodle? My needle moved on what you think of fields as an NFL prospect by how this season is gone. No kind of parallels What you said. I mean, I was incredibly high on field coming into the season, not as high as trouble, Lawrence. A lot of people talk about Jack Wilson, the quarterback from BYU, but right now, Justin Fields Is my number two quarterback on the board, and I think that what all said and done. He's going to be the 2nd and 3rd player selected in the draft after Trevor large No, I think he I hope he's drafted number two because I'm a jet guy, and I think he deserves to be number two. You mentioned Wilson, who's moved up rapidly this year, again. Comparing seasons last year, Fields had no unbelievable year. Wilson wasn't even a guy on anybody's draft potential radar had a phenomenal season has one year potentially moved him a little too quick up the draft boards. In your opinion, it could be, but he plays the quarterback position. That's what often happens with quarterbacks. Now. You know, the thing with Wilson is He's a playmaker. He's smart. He's a great study. He sees the feel He has a new, incredible ability to process what's happening on the field. He when you compare him to fields Yes, that slight advantage over fields in that area. He doesn't have the arm of fields. He's not a guy who can drive. This deep passes with speed is Justin Fields can just appealed. You had superior physical skills. I think people look at Wilson and even though BYU really complain many tough opponents this year I think they look at the fact that every week it's big numbers. Whether he's you know, it's not a wide open offense. It's a situation where he's creating a lot of these plays. He's supposed to be a great interview, which I think is gonna turn a lot of people on and there are people in the league who I trust who tell me that he made that he exact Wilson may not be selected before Justin Fields. They feel two or three years down the road. He could be the better the two quarterbacks in the NFL fair enough on everything you said that would easily lend itself to my next question. Where was he last year. Did was there something that transformed him between his sophomore and junior seasons? Because his numbers last year forget about comparable, They pale in comparison? Well, yeah, he was injured part of last year, and I mean coming into the season. Scouts who great underclassmen gave him 1/5 round grade. So it was not like he was not entity in the scouting community. He was given 1/5 round great and his game has just taken off. He had injury issues last year, which I think led to when I was competing for the job. Now we're healthy and he's basically taken in the bull by the horns, as they say.

"Automatically walking into their facility is the unquestioned. Starting quarterback, and the expectation is he's going to develop into a Pro Bowl starting quarterback. And so that's something that the Jaguars have not had since. Maybe Byron Leftwich would have to think, if left, which even made a Pro Bowl. But probably back to maybe Mark Burnell. I mean, you're talking about 20 years. More than likely. The Jaguars have just simply not had a Prole bowl quarterback that you knew week in week out was going to give you a great chance to win. And if he is Joe Burrow, or he is just in Herbert. From an attitude standpoint, he combines not only the ability But he also carries into the facility a confidence And it transforms your expectations every Sunday. That once Joe Borough got there to the Bangles, it became very apparent. Oh, we're going to expect to win. Oh, he's a winner. For Justin Herbert as well. He takes over its Oh, we can win every Sunday. If we play well around this kid, he's ready for this. He is ready. So that's also what Trevor Laurence brings the table if he's directed by the Jaguars, or when he's trapped by the Jaguars. Now, from a transformational standpoint, it does not automatically make them a winner. What happened this year with the Chargers was a very good example of it would've happened also with the Bangles over the course of 16 games. Neither one of those franchises would have made the playoffs because Trevor Laurence doesn't change Who the head coaches. Trevor Laurence doesn't change the lack of positional talent. Trevor Laurence cannot build the roster. And so that part of it is out of his control and you have to marry both. Truly be a winner. So this Trevor, Laurence guarantee Super Bowls. Of course not. He does even guarantee playoff. Appearances. We've seen great quarterbacks go to terrible situations, and they just simply can't overcome how bad it is around them. Yeah, You might want to bring up David Carr, and he goes to the expansion Texans that he's a disaster. It's he's serviceable, but from a career standpoint, it's obviously a disappointment and he's kind of Never quite what he probably should have been. Let me tell you this. David Carr isn't the same realm of Trevor Laurence. Okay, no disrespect to David Carr. He was a very good quarterback coming out of school. He is not. He was not the prospect of trouble. Lawrence's Lawrence is greater in just about everything than car Woz. OK, so that's not a fair comparison. Maybe you could go back to Archie Manning in the seventies and eighties within Orleans Saints, because Archie coming out of college.
Alabama's DeVonta Smith is 1st WR to win Heisman in decades
"For the Crimson Tide. Alabama receiver Devante Smith became just the third tied player all time to take home the Heisman Trophy for the most outstanding player in college football this past season, beating Alabama QB Matt Jones, Clemson quarterback Trevor Laurence and Florida's Kyle Trash to become the first receiver to win the Heisman since 1991 Smith delivering a special message after the win on ESPN, Tato Young kids out, Theo. That's not the biggest, not the strongest. Just keep pushing because I'm not the biggest. I've been doubting the light just because of my size and really, it just comes down to you Put your mind to it. You can do it. No job is too big. The College Football Champion Not in the Title Game
"How impressed for instance, were you With the way Ohio State showed up in the second semi final, especially given how they had looked throughout the season. Yeah, I was blown away. Jim. I just really was. I thought that I didn't think they could win, And I thought they may even get trucked a bit by Clemson just because I thought Clemson was playing in a much higher level and then Ohio State just stepped it up three levels, you know, and the way they X executed the way they performed Justin Fields, really One of the great performances I've seen from a quarterback, especially after nearly having his rib cage split in half. You know, just just courageous and brilliant. Um and Their defense played better trace sermon has been a monster. Lately. Their receivers are excellent. Their offensive line is excellent. S so they've got the ports and I think it's gonna be a real shootout in the final with Alabama at 40 My guest. I mean, amazing win for Ohio State an amazing performance. What about clumps? And what about the flipside? How bad of a loss was that for Clemson? It was bad. It was especially bad for Davos, Sweeney. You know who ran his mouth a bit. And you know, if you if you hand out that bulletin board material of putting Ohio State 11th and no that's gonna be public on then you you go out and get run over. That's a bad look and Davros had a great great run and it's it's going to continue. They've got really good players. You lose Trevor Moritz on even though the rest the next quarterback is really talented. He may not be Trevor Laurence. Yeah, You know, it's just a situation where They had a great as I said, a great run. But you may have missed a little bit of a window here with Trevor. They may still be a top. They should probably still be a top five program. They may eventually be a national champion again. Like you wonder if the last two years if they may be Mr Chance to add a second or third national title under travel on it before asking about the final really quickly when you look
BYU QB Wilson, likely first-rounder, entering draft
"Plays Clemson at 8 P.m. Eastern and the Sugar Bowl for a spot in the college football National championship game. All eyes air entering this game or on Justin Fields. Fields in the Big 10 championship game struggled immensely. With his final stat line, and the wind against Northwestern was was 12 passes completed out of 27 attempts. Only 114 passing yards, no passing touchdowns, two interceptions, and the Ohio State signal caller only averaged 2.9 yards per carry running the football. Earlier today. BYU quarterback exact Wilson Declare for the NFL draft, and the conversation currently is still Will be Wilson or fields as the second quarterback taken in the NFL draft after trouble Lawrence Zack with that conversation surrounding fields on size or offsides fields. We'll send a statement to his draft critics tonight and show us that he should be the second quarterback off the board. Come in the NFL draft. Besides, I'm gonna go off sides here and I'm not saying Justin Fields can play a good game time. He can't be worse than what he did up against Northwestern. Unless if he balls out and gets the victory, that's the only way that you show a definitive argument why he should be the second quarterback. There's a lot of debate. There's gonna be a lot of conversation leading up to that right now. It seems that Momenta miss shifting to Zach Wilson, and now it's up to Justin Field to try to get that back. Ultimately. Even if fields plays well. And there he could play. We'll go blow to blow up against Trevor Laurence and the Clemson football team. I just don't think Clinton's went and I said this all year. I know it's not going out on a limb. I just feel as if we're on a collision course to see Alabama and Clemson once again. So unless it fields gets that win, I don't think there is enough of a statement that is going to get sent tonight to basically guarantee that he'll be the second quarterback off the board and then fields coming in at number three. Or maybe even for dependent on what you think of trade Lance and Mack Jones. So I do go outside just in fields will not send the statement tonight In my opinion. And I still think there will be draft critics. They're questioning him on if he should be the second quarterback off the board, all
Clemson and Ohio State to face off in the Sugar Bowl
"Day means college football for sports fans. The main event, the Sugar Bowl for the second straight year. Clemson and Ohio Speed meeting college football semi finals this year. It's in the Sugar Bowl. The Tigers came from behind to win last time, so the Buckeyes have revenge on their minds. The game's starting quarterback Clinton's Trevor Laurence, and Ohio State's Justin Fields have been linked since they were the top two recruits coming out of Georgia high schools. Separated by less than 30 miles in 2018. The two have become friends. And while they'll meet for the final time is college players tonight, they're both expected to be high First round picks and next year's NFL draft. I'm

"Schedule, the one thing that we don't have this year for the criteria for the college football playoff committee. Is we don't have comparable outcomes due to non conference matchup. And that's the biggest thing. So basically this committee is going to be looking at the body of work within your conference. Conference games are the hardest games to play because they're familiar opponents. No one gives it to you, like, you know, a lower to your team and your conference for throwing the kitchen sink at you with nothing to lose, And that's what teams like Clemson teams like, Well now Notre Dame but seems like Florida. Georgia teams like Alabama teams like Ohio State. That's what they're going to get on a weekly basis in their conference. If you could come out of your conference right now, and you're unscathed. You're going to get the benefit of the doubt and Being in a conference like the American and going through unscathed. That's going to carry weight when you're looking at a possible to lost Florida or a one lost Texas seeing him that you don't think it's frankly good enough. To be in the same league with Notre Dame. Clemson, Alabama. What's the 14? You're gonna put their You know, we've given the benefit of the doubt to a team like a Washington or big 12 champion that's gone undefeated. You know, that's not gonna happen in the big 12 this year and the Pac 12 they barely have enough games to even qualify so If there was it was gonna happen if the group of five is going to get in. This is the year and Cincinnati has the best chance. Kevin, give us 30 set, You know, 30 seconds real type, But I need 30. Seconds on. This Has the gap closed enough in your opinion from Justin Fields to Trevor Laurence, where whomever's picking first. Overall, they have a decision. They had to go through the process, or is it absolutely Trevor Laurence? In my mind. It's Trevor Laurence Justin Fields is so impressive. He has so much. So many tools around him to evaluate him. Absent of that talent is a hard thing to do. Trevor Laurence has been so consistent and in games and the biggest games they played He's answered the bell personally, um, to see his performance in the college football playoff last year was nothing short of amazing. He was a one man wrecking crew. I mean, I saw him take it. A hit to his face, Get the crap knocked out of him and then get up and run for a 60 yard touchdown take over the game, so I haven't had to see Justin Field do that. He hasn't been put in that position where he has had to be. The deciding factor because he's got five stars walled wall around him there at the House ST got, don't know if it will present itself. You know, you'll have the opportunity to prove himself like Trevor Laurence had, but you can't not What Trevor Laurence has been doing deejay. Anything I mean, your crate, your lousy with EMI's Tonys Oscars. You're also Zeca producer of the show a lot of stuff right. About racist about like like about the n. word we did want about, what do you tell your children when dealing with black people being shot by the police didn't want about slavery which was called teeth. We did. What about the youngest girl having her period, which is something that I'd never seen on network television, right. We did one about, you know why some men men of a certain age don't like to go to the doctor. We did one postpartum depression because you don't want to know that you're, you know, prostates size of Buick exact, but who does want to know we've we've done what's been so great as our writing staff is really tried to. Tackle stuff that's really human. Some stuff that's specific to being African American, but always in a kinda universal way. And you know, to be able to do that on on network television into do it with good humor. You know, at this at this point in history is is pretty cool. So those look, the stuff we've been talking about on blackish, the stuff we talk about a black is stuff that black folks have been talking about for at least one hundred years. But you know, it's.
