12,000 Illegal Migrants Entered U.S. Since Last Thursday

"But I want to talk about what's happening right now at the southern border because literally something like 12,000 illegal migrants crossed illegally into the United States since Thursday night. Or Thursday afternoon. You've got the mayor's down there that are under siege. Asking things like, Where is the vice president who's supposed to be in charge of this? Where is Kamala Who I like to call came my life. This which in Spanish means how bad she is. Where is came A liar is where is Kamala Harris, the vice president. Even Stephanie rule from MSNBC was just asking today regarding the border crisis. Where is our vice president? She was supposed to be in charge of all of this. Check this out. How about the message from our vice president? Where is she? She was supposed to be in charge of all of these migration issues going to those Northern triangle countries. That's obviously not Haiti. That was one of her first international trips with the message. Do not come here illegally. People aren't listening. What is she saying now? Well, we haven't heard a lot from the vice president. Of course, you point out she was focused on this Northern triangle countries. A lot of her work was in Guatemala working with that government. A lot of the diplomacy, which is what the vice president was focused on was with Mexico. And essentially, what we're seeing now is a breakdown of that work with

"If you saw the game on saturday night between missouri and kentucky. You saw a lot of chris broderick against junior monster game. The co offensive player of the week in the sec and he joins us now from lexington. First of all chris congratulations. I know you're team. You wanna move ahead but man what a what a performance it was fun it a good one. Let's let's go back in and that was a huge game. Everyone knew how important it was for the cats to beat missouri Take us through the week of preparation. We head coach on thursday night. And it i'd say you guys were ready to play that that would be the understatement of the year sir so throughout the we just knew that we had abba chip on our shoulders because last year you know we felt we were prepared but our energy just wasn't there so we felt like we all wanna coaches told us like. Are you going to let them out play you. Are you going to let them out. Execute you and we knew we couldn't let that happen again so we went in with the mindset that we had to go in this game of wanna ask you about that because fans like like the folks that i talked to her every day we get. We get hung up on what happened last year and and and wonder often whether it carries over but coach stage said the exact same thing i mean. How do you eighty psychological here transfer. How do you transfer that bad feeling into you does it. Does it affect the way you practice. Prepare because you're you're supposed to be dealing with the techniques of it. I mean motion is part of football. But i'm really curious how that affects you as a player so one We had a video from last year where they showed beauvoir sidelines. I think kelvin. Joseph have made a good tap on the sideline and then they were getting Hype and they showed are sidelined. Dolphins was obvious on the bench or whatever and we were just sitting. There are cheering or nothing. You know he showed us that video in it. Obviously practice a lot harder throughout the week.

Biden Administration Sues Texas Over Abortion Ban

"Came out of washington late on thursday night. London time with the announcement by the attorney. General of the united states. Merrick garland that the biden administration will be suing the state of texas taking out a federal lawsuit. It all relates to a move by texas which is widely regarded as the most extreme restriction on abortion rights since the landmark nineteen seventy-three ruling known as rovers his weight. He came into effect last week. By decision of the united states supreme court and all of the last week liberals and democrats and abortion rights activists have been debating. What can be done. What can the democrats do. What in particular can the democrat in the white house. Joe biden do well now. We know the first step that the administration is gain to take but earlier. This week i talked to the guardian. Us columnist maurer donnegan who's written extensively about abortion rights in the us. And i began by asking more. Don't again to sketch out the political landscape these last fifty years and the role abortion rights as an issue has played in that charting the nearly fifty years since that landmark decision of roe versus wade. The other major story. Today is the decision of the united states. Supreme court handed down a historic decision about abortion. The court said and so when roe v wade was decided in early nineteen seventy-three. It was actually a pretty uncontroversial decision. It was a seven to two decision. The majority opinion which legalized abortion in all fifty states was written by a justice who had been appointed by republican president who was fairly popular in fact at the time. Abortion rights were popular writ large. That really started to

"Giants fans the big big news on this monday morning. Labor day is report from. Nfl insider ian rapoport that star. Running back saquon. Barkley of the giants appears to be close to being cleared for action on sunday against the broncos barclay of course slightly less than than a year removed from a major knee injury Came off the pup list on august ninth has been slowly increasing his workload going from individual drills to some team drills to apparently taking his first contact on thursday encouraging news for the giants. Obviously that it looks like barkley is on track to to play on sunday. Bit of good news in for a giants offense that that hasn't had a lot of that throughout the throughout the summer. Obviously barclays a huge huge difference maker for the giants giants are expected to monitor barclay throughout the rest of the week. Make a decision later in the week but it sounds like things are trending toward barclay playing on sunday. It'll be interesting if he does play to see what kind of workload he gets. Remember that the giants do have another game just five days later as they play the the washington football team on thursday night actually four days later so two games in two games in the space of of of really four days and then thursday. So it'll be interesting to see how much the giants actually use saquon if he does play on sunday but great news that that He's healthy enough to perhaps To perhaps take the field on sunday and try to help the giants. "On. Espn dot com chuck section. I've given them out daily wager. But you know we'll rip through a few here i want to start with. Ecu this numbers come down a little bit. They play thursday night against appalachian state and look. I think he's us live dog. Jay vermont talked about it as well. They have a bunch of veterans including senior quarterback and app. State's been a little shaky as well. And they have a new quarterback and chase. Bryce you might remember him. He played a key. Clemson then transferred to duke ten and a half a lot of points for team that always seems to pull games out of the hat and have crazy place at the end. I like myself getting double digits plus ten right now but still i would out jumping on on ec as long as you get double digits and maybe a little sprinkle on the money line. That could be some fun The came by actually liked the most Kinda scared about it and it's umass and everybody who listen to pod on a somewhat regular basis knows. I'm kind of the betting bully as humans. A frequent guest. Your calls me. I like to bet on bet against bad teams. Just just do it right. Like orioles season win total under. I've certainly bet against umass in the past but thirty eight is just way too many points. And i'll tell you why won't bell and umass went out and got a bunch of transfers. Their quarterback is a six foot five inch from from colorado like the university of and or colorado university of boulder. And they have two running backs that transferred in one from rutgers. So a team that was like. Fcs not too long ago or fcs quality has some real players and you only have to get thirty eight now pits good. But they're at tennessee. The following week nerd uzis not a guy who's going to run up the score. He's old school. Fourth quarter they'll bring in the is a little bit and on top of that. Probably the best handy angle. I have is the offense coordinator for pit is a guy named mark whipple. He's coached umass twice head coach. Also the most recent time was just a few years ago. This is not situation where he wants to embarrass his former program. Umass is a special place in his heart. Whipple's going to call off the dogs as well. So i just think if you can get about two touchdowns even if it's garbage time i think plus thirty eight is the play in. That game is crazy. As it sounds another game. I like is essentially a coin. Flip game and it syracuse minus one. And a half. you might remember. I've talked about it with jay motto. The over three in the win total. They're going to split time at quarterback. Babies made that announcement. I don't love it. I would prefer. Tommy devito to be the entire time but dual threat with michigan state. Sorry mississippi state transfer garrett schrader. They're just better at a lot of positions that ohio but most importantly syracuse addressed. Their offense align issues. There was a pathetic. Offense couldn't even average average about two hundred fifty yards per game. Not passing just total yards per game. The veto would be injured. A lot spent a lot of time on his back. If they're okay on the offensive line this is just a syracuse team. That's just better. No more frank. Solich at ohio. Bob cats will rotate. Quarterbacks curtis rourke. Who's obviously the brother of nathan rourke the former stud bob cats quarterback and then armani rogers transfer from unlv. Ohio's very good. They looked good last year against the too bad teams really bad teams in the mac akron bowling green. But i think use gets there which is better talent especially with vito healthy and maybe we hope and improved offensive line. Fourth play i want to talk about

2021 Running Back Rankings

"Back here ready to record our consensus running back. Rankings fellas. how are you doing. It's been a while two weeks away from two weeks and a day away. From that first thursday night football game then really jones in on some preseason football but ready for the real deal yeah same here. I'm glad to be back recording. It was a bummer miss last week. Especially with the running back episode coming up one of my favorite episodes record but like you said it was better to be safe than sorry so we took the same approach. And i'm looking forward to finally talking about the running backs and yeah like you said two weeks ago you guys. I'm excited. Preseason is great. But i'm ready for the real deal here. Yeah absolutely you know. Speaking of the preseason and running backs is there any preseason hype campos. That's kinda got you guys changing changing your opinions on any anyone player coming out of the draft. I was probably a little bit higher on michael carter than most but seen him in action and seeing the jets team definitely falling down down my rankings. There yeah. I definitely agree with you when it comes to. Michael carter was high on him. Just because of how good of a receiving back is but he's been working like as the third and fourth running back in preseason so even though we looked pretty good it worries me that you're not getting in until the end of the games right now so it's up to monitor c. H. is injury is also something that's kind of concerns me. He sprained his ankle. In the preseason game i loved the usage that they were showing and using with early in that game. But you don't want an ankle injury this close to the season. Fortunately it sounds like it wasn't a high ankle sprain so he dodged a little bit of a bullet but you don't want an injury that's close to the season so she h. Was someone who is higher up for me and he's gonna move down just slightly as we go into drafts here. Yeah one for tonight was David johnson you know the the usage there is really strange throat. This preseason. i don't know if he's been cut candidate or if he's going to make the team be and being a starting running back but that's just kind of a a lower. That was surprising. How how he's being used with. Ingram and lindsey as well so that was another another guy that i have. I lowered my ranking well. Yeah i'm super surprise there. Ingram and lindsey over david johnson. Would he has moved up in. Grammar lindsey at all then with only two backs there rather than three. Yeah i just two of them. Windy for sure. We'll take the jump. Be the one. I'd be the most excited to have. Yeah i don't think either one of them are going to move up much for me Bill lindsay would be the one that moves up slightly. But i have very little desire to get any piece of the houston texan offense. We have no desire for david johnson. So i don't think it's going to move him up much. But if it does come down to david johnson getting cut. Yeah would that would bump up a little bit for

Cam Newton vs. Mac Jones: Where Patriots QB Competition Stands

"The other side. I it's a more interesting. Quarterback is a quarterback competition in new england. What is the sense. You get the dynamic between cam. Newton and mack jones. Yes quarterback competition. We can call it that cam. Newton is the starter plated limited amount of time against the washington football team. And then as you mentioned mack jones and it's very important not only to listen to what bill bella checks says but what he does and what he did was put back jones out there with the first team offensive line for a couple of plays at the end of his at the first half against the washington football team and then he had max jones run the two minute drill the no huddle offense and that he did with command and obviously precision and they were very impressed with that but right now what he wants to see what bill belichick wants to see and he said this the other day he to see the whole team but particularly the quarterback play faster react faster execute faster and what better way to do that than enjoying practices with the philadelphia eagles and then a preseason game on thursday night but yes there is a competition and we'll have to see how this goes in the next couple of weeks but my money is on cam. Newton starting the season and mack jones quickly getting up to speed and pushing cam newton for the starting job.

"Last Thursday night on a special program I think on ESPN, the starting lineups for both the American and the National League All Star teams. I think there was some concern by a lot of people that like it is often in the past. Guys are elected to the teams that really had no business being there. It was something of a popularity vote at times, and I think there's certain positions on both teams that you could make that argument for But the good news was and the thing that restored my faith and fans to some extent voting for this thing. Is the fact that both Nicholas Castano's and Jesse Winker will be in corner infielders in the National League starting lineup. It's a big, big deal. It's a huge deal for the sincere residents a huge deal for for Reds fans. How can you argue against Castano's and Jesse Winker? Not being starters? There is having fabulous years and and I think that's a good point, because I think to a large extent. The fact that they were having overwhelmingly big years in all departments, everything force fans who were fans of other teams or other players playing on different ball clubs to say, You know what? I want my God being there, but you can't deny these two guys that kind of season they've had, But I read something where a guy was criticizing both those guys being in the start. It's a joke. "B. M. So it's gonna be a nice summer day sunny, dry and humid, says the Weather Channel high of 90 two's or on our way there already at 81 in eastern 79 in Pasadena, a 24 to Maryland delegates have started the I think a great idea delegates. Impallaria and Butler from Baltimore in Harford County's and they are now starting his started last Thursday night, I think in Hartford County in which they are now asking that school superintendents B And elected position. And they're saying that instead of being an appointed position Quote. Shouldn't we have the right to know what the superintendent stands for before he or she gets the job done in polarity? In other words, what other platforms? These two Maryland state delegate now asking for community input and feedback and look over the last year. We've got a much closer look at what goes on in our classrooms in instruction. Curriculum. District decision making, and it's been ugly, frankly, has been very, very ugly. And that's what led to this. What's going on in Loudon County school boards all over America, where parents now have had it with this indoctrination in these Marxist Madrasses critical race theory? Making kids dividing instead of uniting them in the classroom. And I think delegate Boteler. Delegate Impallaria are on to something here. They're making the point that We know what the county executive platform is that what these sheriffs platform is? We know what the state's attorney platform is. So why don't we know? What the school superintendents platform is Because, after all, we're entrusting them with educating our Children and many times. What we do in the homes is undermined or countermanded in the classroom. That's why I think it's it's important A that we have elected positions. We make the school superintendent and the school boards directly accountable to the people. Inland County. I think they initially started with six recalls. I think now they have explained that to 10 latest 12 members of the school board in Loudon County, but 10 of the 12 Are being recalled inland Loudon County tonight. Idea whose time has come, let's go to the phones, Robinson Middle over Rob. Good morning inducer. I want to mention something to you about the college bit. I'd like to see you and I know that Bruce is also discussed this About. Maybe you guys should really start a campaign about pardon me about Parents nuts, sending their Children to college and rebel. You already talked about the stupidity going when it tells and you talked about stupidity going when at Loyola and I and D He talked about just stupidity at a football team from Anna from another college, I forget which one and start importantly, start impressing upon people. Parents that we need. We need to send kids to trade schools. Okay, We need good tradesmen. We need plumbers. We need electricians. We need roofers and carpenters. Electrician's We need mechanics. Uh, auto mechanics. Cars are very sophisticated. These are well paying high paid careers and just one other statement before I keep quiet. If you do have to send your child to college. Make sure that they go for something that's really hard nosed. That's really pragmatic. Like Engineering and math, as opposed to something artistic right to start Flighting back. No. At these colleges, I think you know, computer programming or any of that is so very good. But this this art literature major or Soul and so forth. It's just a waste of money. But I do agree. We do need more in trades. I can tell you right now. I've had this discussion with my plumber and he can't find anybody that would wants to be an apprentice. That's the other thing. Because years ago, uh, in previous generations hard work was admired. It was it was taught. It was encouraged that you whether it be an electrician or a, you know, welder, or, you know a builder or craftsman. Whatever. That's no longer encouraged. It's not embraced. People are you know the younger generation today are being pushed into, uh, these other areas and away from the trades and and, frankly, I'm not sure who is going to be tending to all these trades. If we can't seem to get people in there to replace him, I think you you raised an interesting point. We've talked about before on the show and Rob, Thanks for the call. But again, we should be encouraging People. College isn't for everybody. There really is not And and you can. If you want to try it. You can go to community college for two years and transferred to a major college. That's the less expensive way rather than going to a four. You're fully funded. College and university, which has left a trillion dollars worth of student loan debt all across the country. That's the next shoe to drop. But you're right. We need to encourage trade schools. We need to tell people there's nothing wrong with a hard day's work worth of having that work ethic. Coming up. Next. We'll talk with Rob Carson of Newsmax Stick with us. It's 8 30,.

"Mics throughout the show. And, of course, your opinions always appreciated at 844. 58 Oh, 93 to 6. That's 8445809326. I'm gonna start on a Thursday night edition the same way we started last Thursday night, and that is with Governor Iran to Santa's Florida governor Ron De Santis. I feel as if I've built this show. As a pro Ron de Santa show, and I want to make sure that I start with that because last week At least bumped up against some of his policies. But I think that the vaccine passports with the cruise industry It's an interesting hill honestly to die on. If you want to get the industry going But I understand why. I? I think the governor Rhonda Santa's handled the Covid response correctly, Despite mounting pressure for lockdowns, he kept our economy going throughout the pandemic. He has been a very good leader for the state of Florida. I'm a De Santis fan. But I got to call him how I see him on this show. Last week. We talked about that in this week. I'm going to get to something because I He break. He did something this week. That brings to question the role of government in our education system. So The week started out very good for Governor Ron de Santas. Building his brand in the Republican Party, right? You want a straw poll in, uh, let's see. He won the straw poll in Denver right on Saturday, getting 74% of approval, finishing first in that straw poll. He finished first Trump finished 2nd 71% Ted Cruz finished with 34%. So right now, as it looks. Governor Romney. Santa's, albeit June of 2021. Is one of the favorites to gain The Republican nomination for president. For the 2024 election. As I said, it is a June 2021 straw poll. We got a long way to go here. And former President Donald Trump really isn't even in the race yet. A minute that he gets into the race. Things are going to get interesting. Governor Iran to Sanders did an unbelievable job building his brand in the Republican Party. Over the last 68 10 months or so. So I mentioned to Santa's building his brand. And I'll ask something that popped into my head today as I was talking to a friend. Is he doing that? At the expense of the state. Florida. Was talking to a friend of mine today, and he pointed out a law this week Did the Santis signed that is getting rave reviews from the Republican Party. But it looks like it is eventually going to head to court and perhaps get overturned. On Tuesday, he signed House Bill 2 33 in the law. If you don't know what that is, that's fine. I'll explain it because I totally missed it until this afternoon when this friend pointed out It requires more than three dozen public colleges and universities in Florida conduct yearly surveys. Of their students and faculty members Beliefs. To determine the institutions, levels of intellectual freedom and viewpoint diversity. So de Santa said the state could intervene if it finds that universities are hotbeds of stale ideology. Without specifying what the ideology is. And he suggested that funding core funding cuts. Excuse me. Couldn't sell. Long story short Governor Ron De Santis wants to make sure that colleges and universities Are teaching beliefs that he believes in Teaching beliefs that he believes that our kids should be learning. And also that they are Places of inclusive thought. I believe in some of that. So The Santas, as I said, and also along with that if universities are not doing that It could Cut funding. As I said, I've been a De Santis cheerleader. Throughout the last 12 months. But I look at this law and it feels like it is clear Brand building brand building for the Republican Party. Let me start by saying I think it is important our colleges and universities to be inclusive. Think your ideas should be accepted. I think there should be open discussion in colleges. I love college so much. I went for five years instead of four. I think students should be offered the opportunity to express themselves freely. College is a time where you can attempt to find your identity and learn about yourself. But Look at this law that de Santa signed House Bill 2 33. Excuse me this bill that he signed House Bill 2 33 into law this week. And I do have a couple of questions. Santos says that this is to protect students against indoctrination. That was the word that was used in the press conference this week, Indoctrination Who gets determined This who gets determined exactly Induct what indoctrination is The Santas. The Florida government. Is there a Is there a panel somewhere of people who gets to decide this? Exactly exactly, And is this just His attempt to continue to push left views out of schools. In hope of creating more room for Republican views. As I said, I think it should be an equal place for everybody. But I don't really know how you control this. Who is setting the standard here? The Governor De Santis has now signed into law. To give the ideas to promote diversity of thought and eliminate environments. Indoctrination should we also Then think about eliminating other areas. That have other benefits for for businesses groups. Where indoctrination maybe President President. What about religious organizations? They get tax breaks. Could make the case There is indoctrination going on there. Not a lot of free thought in discussion in those places. What about surveys for.

"Not very much in terms of privacy protection. I find that the use of incognito windows is greater for doing things like being logged into multiple different systems at once, so that when you log in on an incognito window, if you to, you know, say, your university If you log in on a different incognito window as a different user, you conduce that rather than the university picking up that you're on the same Uh, That you're insane person in both of those windows, so it doesn't really do a lot in terms of data privacy. Could a criminal use incognito to, um, protect himself from his computer was seized by the government. Investigating him. Um, they couldn't see what websites he looked at. I'm thinking about some very high profile FBI raids recently that I don't have to mention any for the New York City mayors names about but but but for anybody who might be doing, you know up to no good Um, um, if they're if they're using incognito names, and there I mean incognito mode. And their computers get seized. Then the Web sites that they visited would be hidden from you or not so much. Well, I think the government would have the power to get the information from the Web sites that they visited, but it would be harder to track even harder is if they use a virtual proxy network. And that's a using a logging in and a way to. Ah, network that will hide your I P. Address the identify her on your personal device. This is what a number of people use. For instance, get around the great firewall in China. They will log in through VPN. Ingrid and East Thailand, You know w n my see how angry Hey, huge fan on the top of this incredibly interesting, um And thank you for taking my call. Um, So is there a difference between when you turn it on Like you turn you go into the app and the kind of tracking that you get when you can say I turn off my location services. Versus the APP is not open. Is it? Still tracking how you and sharing with other acts? Um, like, how does that all work Because I don't really get it. And I don't like being this ignorant. It's gonna Harry. They count on us being this ignorant, but go ahead. That's an interesting question. Is it on? Is that a completely different topic, though, because he was asking about location services, and we see that frequently. You know? Will you allow this app to track your location? Um, in general at any time on Lee when you're using the app, not at all, but that's location. That's not what websites you visit, so they know what to advertise to you. So is that completely different is that related? Well, there's some relationship. One of the things again to remember is that while it appears that you have a one way connection that something is being said to your computer Being on the Internet. Whatever you're doing, there always means that your computer is connected to another computer as well in ways that aren't entirely visible to you. And so, um, you know, a lot of websites use cookies. Which is a piece of information digital information that's downloaded onto your own machine, which is one of the ways that this this kind of cross app tracking happens now Location services these air useful for advertisers. I think this is one of the reasons that there's been such a push. Towards mobile devices. If an advertiser can know not only what you did, but where you were. When you get it online. They're going to gain more valuable information. And they might know that you you pass a Starbucks every day, for instance. But Turning off those location services does not prevent the other kinds of tracking that we've been talking about. "The pandemic, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo transformed into a fully fledged TV star. Let's remember some basic context and fax society functions. Everything works. There's going to be food in the grocery stores. Propelled into the firmament by his daily Corona virus, free things that reassured an anxious, leaderless public hears Ellen de generous and Trevor. Noah. You call yourself a Cuomo sexual and I e. I agree with you. I feel like I'm a homosexual to it genuinely has been very inspiring and refreshing to see. A leader Like Cuomo, new fans declared their adoration in Tic tac videos, Means and song, the Great Randy Rainbow Stranded in my bedroom. Then there he give you an update as to where we are today. Mature me treatment of the governor, of course, extended to many news networks like CNN, where Chris Cuomo asked the tough questions Now you know, I've seen you referred to a little bit recently as the love governed. I'm wondering if that's bleeding into your demeanor. It all making you a little soft on the president. Love girl. I've always I've always been a soft guy. I am the love government. Cool, dude and loose mood. You know that. But in the past few weeks, Cuomo's TV persona has faltered. Report from the state attorney general and a court order found that the official count of deaths of nursing home residents due to the virus was nearly doubled The figure first reported by the Cuomo administration. Plus, as I write this three women have accused the governor of sexual harassment, some in awkward, geeky detail, including two former aides. Alex Preen Stuff writer. The New Republic recently wrote the article. The Andrew Cuomo Show has lost the plot. Welcome back to the show. Thank you so much. I'm glad to be here. You know, two people who have closely read about the governor in the newspapers over the years as opposed to TV. This version of Cuomo, this bully in cynical operator isn't Knew How have the media changed the message? If you are a long time consumer of mainly print news about state politics, you had untiring chronology of Cuomo scandals even if you forgot some of the details. That didn't necessarily get a lot of play on TV news. Keeping up with Cuomo news over the last decade, has also required being familiar with reporters from The Albany Times Union or or newspapers and Rochester. You know these places where the Albany bureau is still really important and a big part of their beat. And a lot of that news, the complexity of it and specifically, the way it fit. A pattern of behavior with Cuomo was usually too difficult to get across, and especially in like a short television segment. I know a lot about this because I actually listened to the local radio station that produces the show. That's how come I know about the Moreland Commission. But you said this story never made it to prime time because it's too complicated. Absolutely, Yeah. All of the past. Few governors have gotten in trouble. Cuomo was running as the guy is going to come clean it up. And so he sets up a commission called Moreland Commission. He says they have the authority to investigate corruption and all of its forms here in Albany and they will be independent. I will not meddle. I will not interfere. He's shuts them down less than a year later because they start going after people too connected to him essentially and people who worked on the commission. They went to The New York Times, and they said Cuomo was meddling. He stopped us and we were getting too close to his allies, so that stuff was out there. But when the story made it toe TV news, it was stripped of the level of detail necessary to understand what had happened and why I like in this interview with Charlie rose months after it came out that Cuomo's office Had hobbled the aforementioned Moreland Commission governor Andrew Cuomo is reestablishing a family dynasty in New York politics, though he's had to get used to criticism. Of his leadership style. You micromanage. They say that delegate more right and you're not transparent. They say then. And they say you don't suffer fools and you know, Yeah. And you're not You push too hard. Yeah. You micromanage? Yes. All of that. You plead guilty or not guilty. You can't have one without the other. I plead guilty like not only was was Rose asking and easily Dodge question. He was almost ventriloquism. The answer's four Andrew Cuomo, right. It's like the old job interview joke. What's your biggest flaw? You know, I'm too hard on myself. You take issue with the defenders of Cuomo who say that Hey, His most important audience. New Yorkers always have known about the governor's bullying quality. That sharp operator with the even sharper elbows and all of that. And they like it third, this idea that he has cruise to reelection twice. They must know who this guy is and support him. And that's why I draw that distinction between corn on the TV character and new favorite Cuomo's, Because if we have listened to a few clips of him on television He's not berating anyone. He's joking around with his brother. He's performing empathy for victims of Covert 19 or Hurricane Sandy. Is Daddy complete with the dad each exactly. He's New York's dad now. It seems that Cuomo has been able to keep his TV persona and his newspapers persona separate. Why are they colliding? Now? For a few reasons, one important one is that people Do not want to go on the record attacking Andrew Cuomo because of the power he holds in the state, especially elected Democrats. What happened this time is that Ron Kim and Assembly member Received a bullying call from Andrew Cuomo for speaking to the New York Post about the nursing home situation. Kim had been at a briefing where a top Cuomo aide said Yeah, This looks bad that we reported the wrong number of people who had died in nursing homes. But you have to understand, like we need didn't want it to become a story basically, like they were like Trump Trump DOJ is gonna make a thing of it Trumps could make a thing about that's why we covered it up. So anyway, Ron Kim went to the post and gave it on the record quote to the post about that meeting. That was the subject of the call where Cuomo allegedly sat. According to Kim, I'll destroy you. In normal Albany affairs. What happens next is either Kim shuts up. Kim goes on background to The New York Post again because Cuomo as in other cases, finds an irregularity in Kim's background. And implies that that could be used against him. And what he would end up doing is at a press conference Bring up Ah, years old story about how Kim had flip flopped on Is Bill about nail salons, and he would outright say Kim was crooked right after Cuomo does that press conference. There's a story on CNN about how Cuomo had made this phone call to Kim the day before, and that's not the kind of thing that legislators and Albany usually do when they get Implicitly or explicitly threatened by Cuomo. They don't call CNN and go on the record and say the governor threatened me. I think that Cuomo got away with it for so long because no one wanted to put their name. To descriptions of his behavior. But Kim, he knows well, I have a story. Now I have a compelling narrative in which I'm the hero in the governor's The villain and TV likes stories like that. And he ends up on the view. Tell us what happened after he called you or when he called you? Yeah, it was last Thursday night. I was about to bait my three kids when I received the call from the governor. He spent 10 minutes threatening my career and ordering me to issue a statement. They will be used to cover for the states that you wrote quote. If a politician acts as if he believes his voters experience politics is a television show, the best way to harm him is to make yourself a compelling character.

We're going to spend let's say like 15-20 minutes on small school prospects. Who is your favorite small school prospects in 24 favorites 21 NBA draft wage. Can I cop out and say not necessarily my favorite but like kind of the flavor of the week? Yeah. Sure. Let's do it. So this one kind of like came. I don't know if I'd say organically but I was texting with a college coach last Thursday night and he asked if I had watched Isaiah Mosley at Missouri State and I hadn't I knew that he was second the country with 23 and 1/2 points per game. I didn't realize he'd five and half rebounds took a half assist. He's shooting 65% from the field and then I guess I use this word too often certain Deborah Tinsley Jordan sperber, who does the hoop Vision college basketball analytics email life, which is very very good. He actually had him down as having this year the second most efficient season for a player with the usage rate of over 30% in a decade. So his usage is 31.2 is effective field-goal percentage is 65.6. Number one is actually Luka Garza from this season 3 is McDermott in 2012. For was shocked Glendale and 2018 and 5 was Kelly Olynyk and 2013. So it was enough to like push me to watch him and I liked what I saw strong frame tough with the ball in his hands off gets it Elaine and place for fouls when he kind of like jumps up in the air and Defenders rotate to stop him. They more like bounce off him. He's not like thrown off his path. He's able to finish through he'll need to be careful with it comes a little bit of a battering ram he's charged prone but has real bounce in his step both on off the ball has that kind of like Envy level patients and letting the defense react when he he'll drive. What kind of Step through a shot fake finishes with both hands around the rim high-level athlete Missouri state will throw Lobster. I'm on the break or out of timeouts. Obviously, the hang-up is the jump shot which is kind of a wild card or roller coaster. He shooting at a high enough clip, but he pauses a little bit on the catch. She kind of sort of flings it above his head his legs go everywhere. It's going down. But like I'm not sold that that's a consistent thing he can rely on the thing that just stands out to me with Mosley. And again, like I was similar to you like had not watched a ton of him coming in this podcast, but had started to you know, have a couple of Scouts reach out to me about him the fluidity and just the general translate ability of his athleticism is very real like I think that he is in NBA caliber Wing athlete and he seems to have very good length. He seems to have very good hand-eye coordination in the way that he can finish around the basket like hit his finishing around the basket is pretty wild I think like he is extremely impressive. These are not post-ups for the most part..

Isaiah Mosley Deborah Tinsley Luka Garza Kelly Olynyk 2013 2012 23 31.2 65% McDermott today Mosley 65.6 Glendale 2018 last Thursday night Missouri five Elaine NATO

"This is vancouver with the washington. Post joined on the other line by michael. The pod pena of sports illustrated michael. I wanted to double back to Little incident that happened last week last thursday night. Actually between shaquille o'neal of tnt and donovan mitchell of the utah jazz now we had briefly mentioned the jazz on our podcast from last week and then all of a sudden probably the biggest story that they're going to get all year of beef between a hall of famer and a rising star guard winds up falling right in our lap. It was an interesting situation with multiple layers. We got an email from andrei and he wants to know. Could you michael touch on this. On the next podcast. Please the hate from shaquille. O'neal charles barkley and other former players is seriously damaging the league. Can you expand about how none of these shows actually talk about tactics and player performance in detail and compare it to the nfl and how they promote their sport. Adam silver is wondering why ratings are down and streaming and social media. Isn't the only reason. Now michael just to quickly recap essentially shaquille. O'neal had been having a conversation during their halftime. Show saying he didn't necessarily believe that. Donovan mitchell was good enough to carry the utah jazz over the top to the promised land right and they had a direct postgame interview where is kind of serving as a remote sideline reporter from the studio and he just kind of directly said that too donovan. Mitchell face right after the jazz had just won their seventh straight game. And right after i think donovan mitchell had scored thirty six points and he essentially said you know i don't believe in you. What do you think and mitchell paused. Kind of looked around. Aquileia was like alright and the interview was over not too long after that. I think jack was criticized for his timing. Maybe for his clumsiness. I think a lot of people especially jazz fans race donovan. Mitchell is defense. And i was just curious. Did you think that that scene. In particular which has taken place at other times this season whether it was kevin durant and some of these other guys kind of pushing back on the tnt criticism. Do you think that was bad..

The economy creating 661,000 jobs last month or rehires, and the unemployment rate dipped below 8%. But still, the numbers were weaker than expected. "I'm a man who who's a professional lead pipe wielding professional, and I'm thrilled to have this man on he's taken Texas Tech to the next level. Even though in the process. He absolutely took. My Mazen blue heart out and showed it to me pumping in Anaheim, California last Thursday night. He is the head coach of Texas Tech crispier on the show. How are you coach? I'm good. Thanks pleasure. To have you on what's going through your mind right now? What's what's course through your veins getting set to go to Minneapolis for the final four team? I'm actually kind of szeswith one idea just how how in the world. Are we going to score one basket against Michigan state? Is that it get your genuine concern? Hey, they're really good. Obviously put you know watching fan for years just game after game. And but now kind of digging in you understand what they're all about. They're just really good simply stated I mean my eye. Let's put it this way. When you're concerned about scoring a single basket. I know how it feels. I know the sensation coach because I had that feeling watching my team go against yours. A last Thursday night. What were you what did you see in Michigan that you were able to exploited? So expertly last Thursday night. I don't know if exploited anything, but you know, our our guys had so much respect for mission going into the game. So from a coaching point zero need to motivator enhance how tough game it would be our guys were locked in. I think we they just passed to for so many really good players in a great coach. So we we just thought we had to play team basketball at so many individual pieces on that team that we really wanted to try to just improvise team defense everytime down the floor thought guys did about as well as you possibly could. We were fortunate they missed some shots. But I think you've gotta give guys credit for the most part most of the shots were contested. I on the first give you credit. I mean that that was the best defensive performance I've ever seen with my to us. A honestly coach, I'll be honest. I thought at one point because there were times where Michigan turn your team over that. I thought. And the transition game. There were six red writers on the floor. There wasn't a single I had to count. I literally did count at one point to see if you had an extra person on the floor because of the way that your team drops back and plays shutdown certainly on the perimeter. How do you teach that how does that get taught? Star are gonna do we try to recruit to desens- we spend the majority of everyday in practice on it. But we just kind of in our DNA players. Lot of credit. We had multiple guys on the all big twelve defensive team. And it's just too. We are crispier Texas Tech head coach here on the rich Eisen show. What influence does Bob? Knight have in your coaching style right now. Whole lot. I mean, my my years with coach, Pat, you know, we're special like sitting earlier this week is just so through it was like giving a PHD every day knowing coaching whether it be in practice or the meetings, or you know, just watching coach Pat on and off the court. So, you know, I'm really proud of my sociation cokes night. I think, you know, at the top of that list, all of our guys graduated thought coach did this at the highest level about as good as you can possibly do it over many many years, and you know, three different institutions, I think most people Societa success at Indiana, which is understandable. But you know, we had a really good run here at Texas Tech three NCAA tournaments Sweet Sixteen you know, coach one a lot of games here too as well as he did you hear from him over the weekend. I've not heard from him in the last couple of days, but he's been great actually heard from actually from pick by to- this morning on a event that he's doing may for the Jimmy V foundation. He mentioned that he talked to coach maybe even earlier today coach sets great things about our team..
