Evangelism on SermonAudio
A highlight from Evangelism: Muslims and Mormons
"Of things, looking at how when we speak and reach out to those who are around us, specifically we'll be talking about Muslims, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and then atheists as well. What are some things that as we seek to point them to Christ, what are ways in which we can engage them well? And so we are going to do those things together here. And with anything that you talk about, especially other world religions, I know pastor has been going through different denominations in the morning and kind of looking at some different aspects of denominations. I thought this would kind of be somewhat in line with that, looking at other religions and ones that are a little bit more common to you and I, maybe some less than others, but how is it that we can engage with them well? And of course, many things can be said about Jehovah's Witnesses, what they believe, Muslims, what they believe. And so the point of this isn't to give an exhaustive discussion about everything in which a Muslim or a Mormon might believe, but just to give us some handles that we can hold on to in our brains as we discuss the gospel with them. I know for myself, sometimes if I see someone on the side of the road and let's say I know they're a Jehovah's Witness, you know, there was times in my life where I would say like, ah, well, I don't really want to engage with them because I don't really know what they believe and I don't know how to answer all their questions, so I'm just going to, you know, I'm not going to talk to them. Whereas with Mormons, I had a lot more understanding of Mormonism and I had talked to a lot more Mormons. When a Mormon would come to the door, I'd be like, ah, come on in guys, like you want to come in? I'll get you some water? I'm like, let's chat. Because I had a better understanding of the Mormon faith and I felt like I was ready to engage them. I felt like I was ready to have an answer for questions and try to point them to the gospel. And so the point of all of this is to equip us as a church, to equip us as saints, as we go out into the world, at your jobs, in your neighborhood, with your family members. We might not all have a Mormon cousin, but you probably have an atheistic coworker. And so being able to engage them with the gospel and feeling that you are equipped, and I know many of us are, many of us are, so I hope this will just be a supplemental help to you in that endeavor. And so we're going to begin working through these notes. And if you look at your notes, the first one is Islam. And I recognize that Islam is not huge in the Midwest, in Omaha, Nebraska in particular. For sure there are Muslims. I've talked to a few since we've been here, walking around different parts of Omaha, but you almost have to go and find them. But I'm sure that even, I know, I'm speaking to Dan Williams and others that there are coworkers even here in Omaha that are, hold to the Islamic faith. And so I want to walk through each one of these religions together, give us a little brief understanding of their history. And because Islam is so big, where we are in Mombasa, a large portion of Mombasa is Islamic. A lot of times you'll have Somalis in particular that we're working with. The father will be here working in America and he will, they'll live here as a family for many years, but eventually as the kids get older, they send their kids back to a place like Mombasa because it's not, you know, a war -torn place like Somalia, but there's a large Islamic influence there and they want their children to be brought under that Islamic influence. And so we'll have a lot of Somali Muslims that are there, the kids in the model are there, and they're being taught and trained in that Islamic culture, and while the dad is here in America working and supporting them. And so there's Muslims here and I hope I'm writing that. I hope, I know a lot of times we can be afraid of Muslims, but there's, for the most part, there's no reason for that theory. So what I want to do is spend a little bit more time on Islam because again, it's something that we have been very, very engaged in, spending many hours talking with Muslims, and so it will be a little bit more in -depth, but I will try to walk through this one quickly. So today for the Sunday School, September 24th, Understanding the Other Side, we're going to be looking at Islam and Mormonism. Just out of curiosity, just out of curiosity, how many of you have either, you know, neighbor, relative, co -worker, whatever, who is Muslim, Mormon, Jehovah Witness, or atheist? Just raise your hand. Just probably raise your hand. So at least somebody, right? There's somebody. Now if he just said Muslim, there might be like two hands that go up, but that's all right. We'll get to the others, okay? So very briefly, I'm going to try and be brief, okay? I was trying to be brief with these notes and they ended up being 11 pages, so not off to a good start, but that is all right. So as you've seen in your notes, Islam, A, the history of Muhammad, early life. So of course, whenever you speak of Islam, you're speaking of Muhammad, and so if you talk to any Muslim, they will talk to you about the prophet Muhammad, and then they'll go on to say, just be upon him and ramble on these Arabic blessings about his name, but Muhammad was born in AD 570 and he died in AD 632. And in his life, living in Saudi Arabia, born in the city of Mecca, he had a rough childhood. His parents both passed away as a young boy. As a six -year -old boy, he went off to live with his uncle, or his grandfather, and then as an eight -year -old, as his grandfather died, he went off to live with an uncle, and so he was kind of moved around from family to family. He joined in the family business of being a camel caravan driver, so he would go on all of these long trips across Saudi Arabia, Syria, with his uncle and others that they were working for, traveling all over the place, delivering goods. At that time, in Saudi Arabia, of course, at this time, it was not an Islamic country as we think of it today, but there was all sorts of Gnostic Christianity, which is no Christianity at all. It taught a dualistic type religion and many, many problems with some Judaism, other pagan religions, polytheism. There's just a hodgepodge of religion going on in Arabia at that time. And so Muhammad would have come across all of these things as he's traveling around, listening to stories, discussing with other people. The Quran itself tells us very little about Muhammad himself. We don't really understand much about Muhammad at all if you've got random passages that don't really connect with anything, and you have to have some sort of grid to really be able to understand that. And you find that grid within the other important literature in Islam, which are the Hadiths, the Sirat, and these other religious important books that give the traditions and the understanding of who Muhammad was and what he did and all of that. And so in the Islamic literature, we discover these things about Muhammad, where he was and what it was like for him growing up and these other things. And so you might think, okay, you know, the pastor's going through Quranicals, and so we don't really want to go through any more genealogies with Muhammad and figure out who his grandpa and all of those people were. And that's not the point of discussing him being moved around and all of these things. But it is important to note that Muhammad was exposed at a young age as he's traveling all over to various religions. He's hearing different stories as he's traveling around. He's hearing stories from Gnostic Christians, again, who are not Christians at all. And if you read and study the Quran, you find that Muhammad oftentimes quotes things in the Quran that he either thinks are biblical excerpts, or he thinks that they come from the Jewish scriptures in the Old Testament. But as a matter like the Arabic Infancy Gospel of Matthew and these other Gnostic gospels that no Christian would have accepted, what Muhammad quotes is that he believes that they are, in fact, the Christian scriptures. And so this happens time and time again. Muhammad thinks he's quoting from the Bible, but he's really quoting from the Jewish Talmud. And this happens oftentimes. And so the understanding that Muhammad had of Christianity is by no means what you and I, and so even if you read the Quran, you see that Muhammad believes that the Trinity, the Trinity that the Christians believe in is God the Father, Mary, and Jesus. Of course, no Christian believes that the triune God is made up of Mary, and not even, if you want to try to point the finger at Catholics or Orthodox, not even Catholics or Orthodox go so far as to worship Mary. And so there's just a, in many ways, a bad understanding, for lack of a better word, a bad understanding of Christianity within the mind of Muhammad. But at the age of 25, Muhammad is employed by a woman named Khadija. He starts running his own caravan. He eventually marries this woman, and then he begins, as we get on to point number two there, Quranic Revelation, Muhammad begins to really seek after God. He wants to worship God. He wants to know God. And Muhammad goes away. He begins to go into a mountain near Mecca. He goes up into the mountain. He goes into the cave, and there he's fasting. He's praying. He's seeking to know Allah, which is just the Arabic word for God. And he wants to know God. He's trying to have a closer relationship with him. And again, for the sake of time, we're not going to go into any lengthy accounts of Muhammad and the experience he had in the cave. But what happened as Muhammad is there praying and fasting is Muhammad says that there is an angel named Jibril, which is Gabriel. And Jibril comes to him and says, Muhammad, read. And Muhammad says, I can't read. And the angel says, well, first the angel squeezes him very hard. Muhammad says it hurts him. It squeezes him very hard. And it says again, read. And Muhammad says, I can't read. And so this goes on. It's kind of like, I don't know, a Three Stooges play. But Muhammad just keeps telling the angel, I don't know how to read. And the angel beats him up a little bit and tells him to read again. And it just goes on and on and on until eventually Muhammad, you know, starts to recite parts of the Qur 'an that the angel Jibril is giving to him. And so this happens, and Muhammad comes home. As I'm quoting, I'm not quoting, but the place in which I'm getting this story from is from the Hadith, it's from the Surah, it's from the Islamic tradition itself. It's not some, you know, angry Christian writing from their seminary office saying like, ah, Muhammad was, you know, this crazy guy who's getting beat up by an angel as he's reciting the Qur 'an. And this is all from the Qur 'anic sources, Sahih al -Muslim, Sahih al -Bukhari, and so on. And so Muhammad then, he runs home to his wife, he hides under their covers, and he is petrified from what has happened. And he tells his wife, he's like, I don't know if I was meeting her with a demon or what happened, but it scared me and it hurt me and I don't know what happened. But his wife assures him, no, no, no, it was God, God is speaking to you, you should go back. And so Muhammad goes back, he continues to go back to this mountain, to this cave, and there he continues to receive revelations from this angel. And Muhammad goes on to say, this is a quote from, again, one of the Qur 'anic, one of the Islamic resources here, Sirah Rasula, says, Muhammad is quoted as saying, I will go to the top of the mountain and throw myself down that I may kill myself and gain rest. So I went forth to do so. And then when I was midway on the mountain, I heard a voice from heaven saying, oh, Muhammad, thou art the apostle of God and I am Gabriel. And so the Gabriel goes on to tell Muhammad, do not kill yourself, you're the apostle of God, you can't do this. But there's multiple times in the life of Muhammad while he is receiving Qur 'anic revelations where he seeks to kill himself, he tries to throw himself off of the mountain. And furthermore, there's other accounts of people saying that at that time, Muhammad was possessed by a demon. So these are just some facts to keep in the back of our mind. As we think about this, even within the Qur 'an, Surah, I had printed off, originally it was going to be in your notes, kind of a glossary of terms, because I know using a lot of these Surah and Ayah and all these type of things, you might not all know what that is, but Surah is just chapter and the Ayah is the verse. And so in the Qur 'an, Surah Adam 1, 22 to 25, 69, 41 to 42, Muhammad is trying to refute the idea that he is demon -possessed. And so he's arguing against the Jews and the Christians and are saying like, nah, we don't think you're demon -possessed, man. And he's like, no, I'm not. And he's trying to argue against that idea. And so this is just kind of a bit of a background as to how the Qur 'an was revealed to Muhammad. And so we might ask the question, well, do you think that Muhammad was just making all these things up? Is he just a total, is this all just a fabrication of his mind? I personally believe that Muhammad was not just making these things up. If you look at the scriptures and you see in the Old or the New Testament, you see various times when angels Abraham, appear to Mary, the Lord Jesus, Isaiah, there's many encounters where angels come and speak. Even the angel of the Lord comes and speaks to people. And many times people recognize that, oh man, like I am speaking to an angel and they are startled and there is awe and wonder that is within them as they speak to an angel. Not always, but we never see an angel of God coming and beating somebody up and hurting them and then causing them to become depressed and wanting to kill themselves and so on. And so what I believe is that as you look at the life and the story of Muhammad receiving the Qur 'anic revelations, his desire lines up much more with, as we read in the gospel, these, and again, not saying this to be crude or rude towards the Islamic faiths, but faith. But you see a herd of pigs when they are enveloped by demons, high -tempered toward the cliff and jumping off. We see Judas Iscariot, when he is the son of Perdition, when he is, it says, the Bible says that the devil goes into him and he betrays Christ and turns Christ over. Shortly thereafter, himself, Judas, killing, many believing, killing himself. And so it just doesn't seem that Muhammad truly had, of course we don't believe that Muhammad is a prophet of God, but it would be much more in line that, yes, Muhammad did have a revelation, but it was not from God, but rather, as we read in 2 Corinthians 11, 13 and 14, for such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

A highlight from Day 7 The Principalities St. Michael and the Holy Angels Novena Discerning Hearts Catholic Podcasts
"A novena to St. Michael and the holy angels. O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and never shall be, world without end. Amen. Day 7 The Celestial Choir of Principalities The principalities are the first of the choirs most concerned with the earth and are traditionally declared to have the roles of caretakers over every nation, province, county, district, city, town, village, and house, working with the guardian angels who also are assigned to every spot and person. Two other areas of concerns for the principalities are religion and politics. The former they encourage to spread by prayer and spiritual encouragement. The latter they seek to regulate for the good of humanity by guiding the thoughts and especially the ethics what Dionysius termed the leaders of people all over the world. By the intercession of St. Michael and the Celestial Choir of Principalities, may God fill our souls with the true spirit of obedience. Amen. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses. As we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. O glorious Prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the divine king, and our admirable conductor, thou who dost shine with excellence in superhuman virtue, thou shafed to deliver us from all evil, who turn to thee with confidence, and enable us by thy gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day. Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ, that we may be made worthy of his promises. Almighty and everlasting God, who by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, hast appointed the most glorious archangel St. Michael, Prince of thy church, make us worthy, we beseech thee, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into the august presence of thy divine majesty. This we beg through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dennis Prager Podcasts
A highlight from Dennis & Julie: Exciting versus Enduring
"Hey everybody, Dennis Prager with Julie Hartman, Dennis and Julie. One of my favorite hour and 12 minutes of the week. Me too. Isn't that amazing? Yes. And what's also amazing is that we actually do probably three or four Dennis and Julie's a week that are not recorded because we talk on the phone so often. And sometimes, I don't know if you think this, sometimes when we're done speaking, I'm like, wish that were recorded. Really? Yes. That's an interesting point. But you know what's also great? We are very personal on this show. There's really, I can't think of many things that we talk about privately that we wouldn't talk about publicly. I think people understand that. That's why that guy called me and I've talked about this a lot, said, I have a great word for you Dennis, transparent, because I decided early on in my career that as unnatural as it seems, because people obviously hide parts of their lives from others, I thought I'm going to hide as little as possible. That's why people say to me more often than any other things when strangers meet me, you know, I feel like I really know you and I'm sorry and I say, you do. I can attest to that as someone who knows you off the air as well as on the air, listeners really do know you. It's also just easier being transparent because I can imagine that it's difficult to have to think, oh, did I say that? Should I say this? That's right. It's just kind of your default. It's like it's easier to be faithful than have an affair. Aside from all the moral issues and the hurt of my spouse, all of that stuff, putting aside that they're all real. A major reason not to have an affair is because of the amount of hiding you have to do and lying. It is not possible to have an affair and not become a serial liar. Well, one lie begets another lie, which begets another. It has to. I mean, if you say I was at the doctor's and they say, how was it? And then you go, yeah, let's say your wife runs into the doctor. You know, like it just it's this tangled web of of deceit that's I can imagine difficult to keep up. You know, in that regard, it's amazing how our conversations just developed. So I'm going to say something that will strike people at the outset as odd at best and maybe even bad at worst. So when I meet somebody who's having an affair, because people open up to me, in most instances, my first reaction, I may know more and change my reaction, is I feel bad for them. I obviously feel bad for the spouse, that's a given. But my sense is, and by the way, I believed this when I was your age, well before I was ever married. I sensed that most people who have an affair, it is not because they're bad. And oh my God, I can't believe I'm saying this to you. One of my favorite Bible commentaries is by Richard Elliot Friedman. He is a brilliant scholar, University of California, San Diego now. I think he's at the University of Georgia, a major biblical scholar. And if I say that, you can believe me because I know my Bible. And he's written a commentary on the Torah, which I love. I love it. And obviously I'm writing my own. So I refer to his. Under adultery, in other words, the commandment, thou shalt commit adultery. He wrote, I wish I had the entire, I could find it, but we don't have breaks during Dennis and Julie, but I would like to read it exactly. But he wrote, and I just read this to my synagogue this past Sabbath, I read his line about this. That good people commit adultery, and he italicized good. And I thought that this guy's human. And I've been faithful, so I have no self -interest in this. But to assume that everybody who commits adultery is evil is beyond simplistic. You commit murder, okay, if that's not evil, you could say, well, you could say a good person could commit evil, could commit murder. It's a bit of a stretch. It could happen, but generally speaking, that's not true. But anyway, good people who commit adultery, and by good, I mean the non -serial adulterers people who just go from affair to affair, I have no defense of as a human being. You mean like a one -time thing? Yes, or fell in love. If somebody falls in love with somebody else while married, it usually means there's a lot problematic in the marriage. People in love with their spouse don't fall in love with another spouse. Okay, this is such a good topic, and I want to pause and say what we always say. We had no idea that we were going to discuss this. I love that about this show. It just blossoms. Because it's real. It's real, and it's incredibly spontaneous. Okay, a lot of questions. This is where I'm going to evoke the, what do you call your radio show, the Human Laboratory? This is where this is particularly useful. So most people who tell you about their infidelity, I'm assuming most of them are male? Or is it even? Yes, that's correct. What would you say the percentage is? Of those who tell me? Yes. It's high. It's 75%. Male? Yeah. Okay. And usually, do they tell you that they're unhappy in their marriage? Yeah. And what is the most cited reason for the unhappiness? They don't feel loved by their spouse. Loved in what way? You're tough. I'm not trying to be tough. She is tough. All right. Maybe, okay. You don't want to go there. No, no. There's nowhere I don't want to go. Anyway, even if I don't want to go, I go there. That's true. So, okay. For the record, generally speaking, a man who feels sexually fulfilled with his wife is going to stay faithful. This is so foreign to women that they just have to take my word for it. That's not how women think. Women do not have affairs because they're not sexually fulfilled by their husband. Some might, I fully acknowledge, but they don't feel emotionally fulfilled. That's much more a woman's reason, and I have just as much sympathy for her as for him. It's not, all I'm saying is, and I don't even remember how we got on this, but it's amazing that we did. How did we? Yeah. It's funny. I usually remember the genesis of a subject, but all I'm saying is when I meet people, my first reaction is not, wow, that's evil. If I met a murderer, yeah, or not even a murderer. Frankly, doctors who give hormone blockers to 10 -year -olds are doing evil. I have much more contempt for them than for somebody who had an affair. Okay, so let me ask you this. Let's say you got a call from a guy who was five years into his marriage. He has three or two young children, and he calls you and he goes, Dennis, I am not happy in my marriage. It's not awful, but I'm not happy, and I have my eyes on another woman. What do I do? Do I stay in my marriage that's unhappy, or do I leave because I'm unhappy? I'd say do everything possible to make yourself happy in your marriage, which by the way involves obviously working it through with your wife, but it also involves working it through with yourself. So, I'm a guy's guy. I'm male as as they come. So, men really relate to me. Happily, a lot of women do too, but it's not the same thing. Male -male is not the same as female -male. Okay, so I understand men really well, and I explain men to women. So, both sexes have to adopt the Prager notion of not having too many expectations. I think it's fair to say, nobody says this, because sex is ironic. We have a sexually drenched society, and yet people never talk honestly about it. That is very well said. It's mind -boggling. It's mind -boggling. You're so right, and people get upset when you talk about it. That's right, because I'm honest. So here is something I would say to men, guys, just know you are not going to have the sexual life you fantasized in the vast majority of cases. It's just the way it works. You mean when you get married? Yeah, when you get married. I'm sorry, that's right. I wasn't clear. Yes, when you get married. And therefore, you enjoy what you have. Now, obviously, I'm not going to give it a time factor limit. It's different when you're 25 than when you're 55 or 75. All of that is real. But I remember when I was in high school thinking, wow, to be married, you have this woman anytime you want. Oh, gosh. Such a male thought. Exactly. This was worth the entire broadcast. My comment and your reaction? I think I represent all women. Yes, exactly. Watching and listening. And I represent all men. That's the point. So that was my fantasy in high school. Oh, my God, it must be the greatest possible situation being married. She's there whenever you want her. So men… I just looked at the camera. So men have to understand it's not going to be that way. Are there exceptions? I'm talking in general, of course, there are exceptions to every rule in life. So I really ought to, if I had the time, I would write an advice book to men. Oh, you really should. Who is it? George Gilder wrote that man book? That man book? Sexual Suicide and the Naked Nomad. He deeply influenced me. So, men need to understand… By the way, we all need to understand… I don't know what women's fantasies are about marriage. Her fantasies are not likely to be fully realized either. So it's best probably not to have fantasy… I don't care if you have fantasies, it's fine to have a fantasy life, but in the sense of directing you in your emotional reaction is not a good idea. And in your reality, it can't direct your reality too much. That's right. So I have told men, I'll tell you where I feel for men. And that is, if they're married to a woman, I'm just talking the sexual arena now. If they're married to a woman who doesn't take care of herself physically, that's given the power of looks in the human species, it's the female that attracts the male. I know there are gorgeous men who attract women, but most men are not gorgeous. What attracts women to men is not that they're gorgeous. they're Certainly when reached by age of 30, a high school girl is going to go, Oh God, is he gorgeous? Oh God, you know, that's fine, it's part of life. But one of the biggest ways you show you love your husband is by taking care of yourself physically, trying to look good. And the proof is you tried to look good when you dated. Why did you stop trying once you got married? That's not fair to him. You're right, and it's not fair when men have B .O. and also don't take care of themselves, which I know you recognize. No, of course, but that's not the same thing. The B .O. holds for both, but looking gorgeous or as gorgeous as you can, I mean, looking cute. In peacocks, the male attracts the female. In humans, the female attracts the male. It's just the way it works. And if she succeeds in doing it, he gets aroused and they make the next generation. That is how human sexuality works. I really love what you said a few minutes ago about we live in this over sexualized society that also gets so upset when people like you and me talk about sexual matters, not to overhype our importance, but people who are brave enough to talk about sex within with a Judeo -Christian good values worldview are so valuable. I don't understand. Yeah, but a lot of them do, but they're not real. A lot of the religious people who talk about sexual matters are not rooted in the real world. So what is an example? Masturbation. Wow, welcome to Dennis and Julie. But the proof is nobody feels that they can talk about it. Yes, that's true. I mean, I debated a guy, very religious guy, seen by hundreds of thousands of people on the internet. He said, masturbation is evil. And he's speaking from a religious point of view. Evil? I said, I looked at him and I said, evil? I mean, if he says it's a sin, fine. Every religion has a whole list of sins. But evil? And I challenged him. I said, are you serious? It's evil? I mean, child molestation is evil. Genocide is evil. I know. Masturbation is the charge. Of course it does. So religious, you're right about the Judeo -Christian values perspective. Unfortunately, a lot of religious people have made religion look silly and people have therefore rejected it. You know, you're right. I think a lot of people point to something like that and go, that's just, that's too far for me. It's too far, exactly. It's difficult, the job of being religious, because you obviously want to promote good values, but you also want to be real and recognize that there are certain thoughts and proclivities and actions that a lot of human beings partake in. And so it's about mitigating the, I was going to say mitigating the harm of those, but allowing them to happen as long as they don't go too far or as long as they're not harmful. Yeah, that's right. So people should read a book by an Orthodox rabbi, Shmueli Boteach, who's a well -known rabbi, B -O -T -E -A -C -H, in English, Boteach, but it's pronounced Boteach, and it's called Kosher Sex. It's a great book. That's a good title. Great title. And whole his thesis is, you keep sex within a marriage, but within a marriage, do whatever the hell you want, providing the other person agrees, obviously. And, you know, as raunchy as it may sound to the outsider, if you two agree to it, the only restriction is that it's not with another. You know, God, of course, I forgot my train of thought. I just I really marvel at how real this is. And sometimes when you make these comments, I think, God, he is gutsy. He really goes there. You know, I am gutsy. I want to tell you, this is very revealing about me. People will take it for what it's worth. I decided very early in my life, if I want to do good in this world, that's all I've ever wanted to do. I will not shy away from putting myself out there and knowing I'm going to get slapped. And that's the reason I do it. It's not fun to talk about masturbation, but I know how many people are traumatized by the message you're doing evil. And it makes religion and God look bad, and I don't like that. Mm hmm. And here's the thing, also, it's uncomfortable to acknowledge, but it's the truth. People do the like I mean, this is the whole point of the conversation. People do these things. What are we going to pretend like they don't exist? We have to deal with them. And I think it's cowardly to run away. Look, I have told you, Dennis, that I grew up in a house that didn't talk about these matters. And I'm grateful, actually, because I think there are certain boundaries that ought to be respected. And I there's a time and a place to discuss things like this, but we do have that forum to do it. And I don't understand I don't understand when people deny reality. We are seeing the harm in the United States today of denying reality, including in the sexual arena. I mean, that's this whole hookup culture thing by by contorting reality to make women believe that they want sex as much as men is harming women. Plain and simple it is. Is it uncomfortable to acknowledge the reality of males extreme sexual proclivities? Yes, but we have to because we're seeing the consequences when we don't. So I applaud you. And I do think sometimes I'm like, wow, he he's really going there. He's gutsy. But but people need a good role model for these matters. Well, you don't make a good world if you're not gutsy. True. You can't build a good world on cowardice. And it's so hypocritical because people people have sex. People do these things. And I don't I don't I dislike the people that that are on some kind of moral high ground when they talk about this stuff. It's like, please, you do it to your human being. Don't act like you don't partake in these things that you decry. Right. And some of them probably don't. But my question is, are they better human beings in general? You know, I talked I said to you what Richard Elliott Friedman said, that a lot of people who commit adultery are good people. It's because it's it's weakness more than anything or or something else. I'm not talking about serial adulterers.

Dennis Prager Podcasts
A highlight from Operation Atlantic Resolve
"Well then, welcome to the Dennis Prager Show. Bob France sitting in and yeah, you hear the music, you know where I'm coming to you from. Cleveland, Ohio, the home base, therelieffactor .com studios if you will. Our WHK radio, AM1420, the answer here in Cleveland, Ohio. An honor to be sitting in for Dennis once again. And of course today being Yom Kippur, which is why Dennis is off today. As he has of course been celebrating the holy days and starting back with Rosh Hashanah. The Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. And it's a wonderful thing. It really is. I kind of have to familiarize myself not being Jewish myself. I have to familiarize myself with some of the days and some of the reasons and the explanations for the calendar. And Yom Kippur is one of the ones that to me is the most solemn. A Day of Atonement, a day of reflection and looking inside and asking for forgiveness for the shortcomings that perhaps we have and so forth. And so to Dennis and to everyone who is commemorating and or celebrating and or taking part in participating in the Yom Kippur day today. This very important Day of Atonement. God's blessings to you all. Seriously, really appreciate that. In the meantime, we've got work to do. We have a lot of very important things to talk about and I want you to be a part of the show. 8 Prager776, that's 877 -243 -7776. I want to know, is it acceptable for me to be concerned with the plight of others but being unwilling to do any more than I have already done? And yes, if you're wondering, I'm talking about Ukraine. Yes, if you're wondering, I'm talking about the 113 billion dollars we have already sent to Ukraine to help them ward off the invasion of the Soviet, well, the Russians. Who are trying to rebuild the Soviet empire, I suppose, if you think that they are going to not stop in Ukraine and then advance to other European nations and so forth. I don't think so. I don't think they have the ability to do that any longer. I don't think they are the fearsome foe they were when the Soviet bloc was, of course, raining havoc on Eastern Europe and raining havoc on the world. But I want to talk about the Ukrainian situation. Here's two reasons. Two reasons why. The first of which is the fact that in Canada, over the weekend in front of the Canadian Parliament, the Lord Mayor Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, who came to the United States for the second time, hat in hand, saying please drop all you can into the hat here so that we can go back and continue our war with Russia. They came looking for more money, asking for another 25 billion dollars. And again, I'll get to the point about how I feel about spending that money and how I feel about it going forward in a moment, but he came to the United States and then he went up to Canada. And he went up to Canada before the Canadian Parliament and he sat there and he asked for support and financial remunerations from the Canadians as well. And the Canadians, of course, listened happily. And, you know, we're all all for supporting this. But what they did after that is something that is quite simply incomprehensible to me. Canadian organizations Jewish are among those now slamming the Canadian Parliament for giving voice to and a standing ovation to a man who fought for the Nazis during World War II. All because he is Ukrainian. All because he's Ukrainian. Video and photos show the Canadian Parliament erupting into cheers on Friday after President Zelensky's visit to the capital of Ottawa, when Canadian lawmakers also honored Yaroslav Hunka, a 98 -year -old Ukrainian immigrant who fought for the 1st Ukrainian Division, according to the Toronto Star, the division also known as the Waffen -SS Galicia Division, which fought for the Nazis and its paramilitary arm. The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center said in a statement, the fact that a veteran who served in a Nazi military unit was invited to... And by the way, this story that I'm starting with, this day, this first hour, this story is not because of today being the Jewish Day of Atonement. This is outrageous. This is when it happened is when it happened. Understand that. The fact that it is occurring, though that we're talking about this and it just happened during these holy days, is another point entirely. The fact that a veteran who served in a Nazi military unit was invited to and given a standing ovation in Parliament is shocking. At a time of rising anti -Semitism and Holocaust distortion, it's incredibly disturbing to see Canada's Parliament rise to applaud an individual who was a member of a unit in the Waffen -SS, a Nazi military branch responsible for the murder of Jews and others, and that was declared a criminal organization during the Nuremberg Trials. Some are calling for full -throated apologies from Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau and from Ukrainian President Zelensky. This honor was given to a Ukrainian because everything now has to go Ukraine's way, because Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. We have to come up with untold, unlimited amounts of treasure and time for anything having to do with Ukraine. So they brought a Nazi military fighter, 98 -year -old Nazi fighter in World War II before the Canadian Parliament, and because he's Ukrainian, he got a standing ovation. That's how, beside ourselves, I think we've become with this, we have to do anything and everything we can to help Ukraine. So that's number one. The second reason, by the way, is we continue to try to make some sense out of the, you know, now that we have the actual official figures confirmed by the White House of $113 billion already spent in support of Ukraine. In addition to that, they say that our commitment to helping Ukraine has no end and there is no cost limit. They will do this no matter what the cost for however long it takes. The problem is, of course, there is no end game in sight. There's no end to the commitment that has been identified. When does it end? What standard would it be to say no matter how long it takes to finish the thought? Chuck Schumer? Joe Biden? Mitch McConnell? I don't care if you're Democrat or Republican. If you are giving an unended blank check, an unending blank check to Ukraine, what does that mean? What does that look like? You say for as long as it takes to... fill in the blank. What? Does every Russian in Ukraine have to retreat back across the border or is that not enough? Does every Russian have to leave Crimea, the peninsula that Russia took in 2014 when Obama was president? Or do they just have to stop bombing and stop the fighting? What exactly does it mean to say we're going to give this money until... or I'm sorry, no matter how long it takes to do what? Define the end game. There isn't one.

The Eric Metaxas Show
A highlight from John Amanchukwu (Encore)
"Welcome to the Eric Metaxas Show. We'll get you from point A to point B. But if you're looking for point C, well, buddy, you're on your own. But if you wait right here, in just about two minutes, the bus to point C will be coming right by. And now, here's your Ralph Kramden of the Airways, Eric Metaxas. Hey there, folks. Welcome to the show. We have a guest on who, man, I don't even know how to start. First of all, I'll try to pronounce his name correctly. John Amanchukwu. I got John correct. I think I got Amanchukwu correct. John Amanchukwu is someone I've come to admire tremendously. He's in North Carolina. He is he's been a pastor for years. He is a brave voice in the midst of the madness, one of the bravest voices. And it's my privilege to have him as my guest for this hour. John, welcome. Hey, thank you so much, Dr. Eric, for having me on your show. You can't call me Dr. Eric because I'm not a doctor, but you can call me whatever you want. Could you call me the Commodore or Admiral? I'd prefer I really prefer that. But no, seriously, you you have been such a brave voice and people have seen you, you know, probably on Instagram reels or whatever. Tell my audience, because this is it's always better when my guest tells the story. But you've been a brave voice speaking out against the. What would be a nice term for it, satanic lunacy of. Profoundly sexual material being given to children in our schools, very tough for most of us to believe that this is happening, but it has been happening. You've been exposing it and you've been bravely speaking against it. So let's just start, John, with how did you get involved in this? At what point did you say I'm going to step up and start confronting these crazy abusers? Because that's what they are, abusers of our children. How did that start for you? Well, I've been involved in this kind of work for the past 20 years. I joined a church in college called Upper Room Church for God in Christ. I joined at the age of 19. And the senior pastor is Bishop Patrick Langwood and senior. And he says that our church is a cause driven church. You know, we believe that there is a cause in Christ. There's a cause in the marketplace for us to bring our biblical world view to it, to engage the culture and to fight against evil and wickedness. Isaiah 520 says, woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. And so we've just been on the front lines on the abortion clinic issue, fighting against fatherlessness and the black community. And now even with this indoctrination in the public school system, now, some people call it indoctrination and some people call it grooming. But I like to call it mental rape. That's the best way for me to define what has taken place in the public school system. I call it mental rape because it assaults the soul. It stains the brain and it robs children of their innocence. When you put pornographic material in a library and make it accessible for kids, K through 12, a child is going to pick that book up. And I went out to Asheville and spoke about a book entitled It's Perfectly Normal. That book is for kids 10 and up. It's hardcore porn. It's not soft porn. It's hardcore porn. That book gives Hugh Hefner a run for his money. When you open the book, it depicts images of heterosexual sex and homosexual sex. Why do 10 year olds need to see and learn how you should have lesbian sex at the age of 10? That's disgusting. That's evil. It's mental rape. There's an assault taking place upon children, and there's a critical point that's being left out of the equation. And that's the church. The church is not engaging. We need some modern day Karl Barth. We need some modern day Martin Niemol. We need some people who are willing to engage the culture and tell the church, listen, we are not supposed to be co -opted by the state. The state is not supposed to run the church. And when we go into a public school, we have this thing called parental choice. Some call it rights, but I call it parental choice. I call it parental choice because our rights come from God as parents. But choice parents have had the choice and the knowledge of being able to assess and know what's going on in the public school system and to have the freedom and the liberty to push back when there is an assault upon their children. Well, listen, everything you say, I mean, I agree with it violently. I am in churches effectively preaching what you just said in a little different way. But what basically this is called, what you are advocating for is called the technical term is Christianity. This is called Christian faith. If you do not do what what you're describing, if you're not pushing back, if you're not being salt and light in the culture, if you're not being a warrior for truth and speaking against evil, then you are not living out your Christian faith. But there are many, many churches and you and I know about that that do not do this. They don't get involved in this. They say we don't want to be divisive. These are the same people that would say, you know, we don't care if there's slavery happening, as long as it's not happening in my church. That's right. It's complete hypocrisy. And as Christians, we are called to step up. And I keep saying that the Lord has allowed it to get this bad to wake up those who are still sleeping, because what you just described is very tough for me and most people, even to hear that children would be exposed to this absolutely evil stuff. What do you call it if you don't call it evil? This is evil for children to be exposed to these kinds of things. And it's shameful that they're just a handful of brave souls like you speaking against it.

The Breakdown
A highlight from ByBit Vacates United Kingdom as "Crypto Hub" Dreams Falter
"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Monday, September 25th, and today we are updating ourselves on the geopolitical landscape of crypto. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. Hello, friends. Hope you had a great weekend. There are lots of interesting things to catch up on. And today, a slight theme in some of these stories is where different countries are positioning themselves vis -a -vis crypto. Now, the UK has had an interesting relationship with the industry. They were for a time very harsh. The Financial Conduct Authority in the UK has never seemingly been that into the whole space. But then when Rishi Sunak became chancellor of the exchequer, he declared that the UK would be open for crypto business. He wanted to make the UK the most crypto friendly jurisdiction in the world. Well, of course, over the next few months, through a variety of weird ups and downs, Rishi eventually ended up the prime minister. And of course, it might be reasonable then to ask, is the UK getting friendlier for crypto companies? Well, on that front, Bybit have announced that they will suspend service to UK customers next week in response to regulatory changes. The UK's Financial Conduct Authority, or FCA, will begin enforcement of new marketing regulations starting on October 8. The regulations require crypto firms to ensure advertising is clear, fair, and not misleading, as well as presented alongside a risk warning. Advertisements are required to be certified by firms, but this process requires crypto firms to be registered in the UK. So far, UK licenses have been difficult to obtain for non -domestic exchanges. The rules also require a number of technical changes to exchange business operations around new customers. For example, exchanges need to implement a 24 -hour cooling -off period before a new customer is allowed to make transactions. They are also required to put in place client appropriateness testing and client categorization features. These measures could involve limiting the size, for example, of crypto investments based on the customer's net worth. Now, penalties for non -compliance in these new rules are harsh, with unlimited fines and even criminal charges available as punishments. As you might imagine, the crypto industry has been highly critical of these elements, especially those that require technical changes to platforms. In response to those critiques, the FCA said that they would provide a transition period for firms that request it, potentially giving exchanges until January to come into compliance. Last week, however, the regulators said that they are alarmed at the lack of engagement with foreign firms. Only 24 firms have responded to a survey sent to over 150 companies. In response, the FCA wrote, "...this lack of engagement gives us serious concerns about unregistered firms' readiness to comply with the new regime." Now, in their announcement that UK services would be suspended, Bybit claimed their "...primary objective is to operate our business in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations in the UK." Bybit said that they were making "...a choice to embrace the regulation proactively and pause our services in this market." They said that the "...suspension will allow the company to focus its efforts and resources on being able to best meet the regulations outlined by the UK authorities in the future." Practically, this means that from Sunday, Bybit will no longer be accepting new accounts from UK users. Existing users would be barred from making new deposits or increasing existing positions from October 8th. They will have until January to manage and wind down their existing positions. Bybit, as you might imagine, is not currently registered in the UK and is based in Dubai. Importantly, Bybit is not the only firm suspending service to UK customers in light of the new regulations. Last month, PayPal announced that it would temporarily pause crypto services in the country until next year. On top of that, crypto exchange LUNO said that it would be restricting some customer accounts from being able to invest on the platform until further notice. Bybit CEO Ben Zhao had flagged the firm's exit earlier in September warning of how overly broad the regulations are. He said, "...FCA has explicitly contacted all the major players — us, OKEx, Binance, everyone — and asked what our plan is to deal with this new law. And the new law is that if you use English as a language, they will see you as trying to solicit their users, so you cannot claim that you are in reverse solicitation. Everyone is in trouble. So everyone is thinking of plans of how to deal with this new law." George Morris, a partner at Simmons & Simmons, explained that the marketing regulations had been enforced for securities firms for decades but were now being expanded to cover the crypto industry. He said, "...the rules are extremely complicated and they're quite wide -ranging. It's not just UK firms that are subject to these rules. Anyone with a website that can be accessed in the UK is subject to these requirements." So there are a lot of different elements of this. One challenge is, yes, these advertising standards. But the bigger issue is this whole need to evaluate client suitability and potentially restrict investments. Practically, that either means a ton of financial disclosures from customers that they would have to manage and verify, or there's simply some self -attestation checkbox, which might not be that effective. Basically, with a set of marketing regulations, the FCA have figured out how to limit small retail's ability to buy crypto in the country. Now, one thing that is notable is that we haven't heard anything from the really big international exchanges yet in terms of how they're dealing with this. But in any case, it seems like a big detriment for UK crypto. As Leon TK put it, so much for the UK being a crypto hub, failing already. Now, speaking of places where there is more optimism, last week was, of course, the token 2049 conference in Singapore. And that led to a lot of different discussion around how different the Asian environment for crypto felt as compared to the US and European environments. Indeed, while Western jurisdictions seem to be bogged down with regulations that are unclear at best or hostile at worst, the vibes in Asia are reportedly immaculate. Major conferences around Asia during September saw an uptick in attendance, and regulatory regimes across South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan appear to be giving the crypto industry a clear set of workable rules to allow firms to re -establish themselves coming out of crypto winter. The block's Frank Shapiro spoke with some conference attendees and reported on an optimism emerging in the East. One conference attendee said that South Korean retail is flocking back to crypto. They argued that young investors in particular view real estate and equities as massively overvalued and out of reach, so are instead opting to buy cryptocurrency. They said they don't buy houses, but they can buy tokens every week. There is a huge market. Another attendee spoke about the difficulty of accessing the Korean market due to South Korea's notoriously tough corporate climate for international firms. They said the liquidity is insane, but it is siloed and protectionist. You have to speak Korean. On that front, crypto custodian BitGo recently partnered with domestic juggernaut Hana Bank due to the difficulty in accessing the market without a local connection. What's more, one anonymous trading firm said they had been waiting five years to operate as a liquidity provider on domestic exchanges in South Korea. They said when they open up, we can be first in line. It's a great retail market. To get a sense of scale, the largest Korean exchange, Upbit, regularly outperforms Coinbase in terms of spot trading volumes. Then there is of course Hong Kong. Their new regulatory regime is off to a tough start in some ways with fraud investigations into crypto exchange JPX becoming public earlier this month. The most recent update is that there have been 11 suspects brought in for questioning and losses have been estimated at 178 million across 2 ,265 victims. Local police have said that the ringleaders of the operation are still at large and have enlisted the help of Interpol. Some are referring to JPX as the largest financial fraud to ever hit the city. Yet despite the major investigation, there are currently no signs that Hong Kong regulators are seeking to reverse course on unexpectedly open crypto regulations. Indeed, on Monday, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission said that it would be releasing the full list of current applicants to ensure that users are able to identify false claims from exchanges. The theme appears to be the same across multiple Asian jurisdictions. Basically, that individual incidents of fraud and malpractice haven't tarnished enthusiasm for the industry as a whole. Another conference attendee told Chiparo, This Asia trip blew my mind. The excitement in Korea and Singapore is the polar opposite of what's going on in the U .S. Alex Vannevik of Nansen wrote, Vannek portfolio manager Pranav Kannadi added some color around how local investors are thinking about the space as well. On September 14, Pranav tweeted, Conversations were mostly positive and a key question was, We're in a crypto winter right now, but when should we expect the next bull run? Not a single convo mentioned the merits of the tech or whether the space survives, feeling optimistic. Now, hopping from Asia over to Europe again for a moment. According to a report from Fortune, Coinbase considered acquiring FTX's European business in the wake of FTX's November bankruptcy. Apparently talks never progressed to a late stage, but the preliminary interest highlights how important international expansion is to Coinbase, particularly regarding its derivatives products. Before the bankruptcy, FTX Europe was the only European firm registered to provide perpetual futures trading. And while derivatives trading remains heavily restricted in the U .S., both Coinbase and Gemini have launched offshore trading venues this year to provide derivatives markets to international customers with a keen eye on Asian regions. For Coinbase, the pivot to derivatives could provide a much needed boost to flagging spot volumes. According to Kiko Research, derivatives volumes in Quarter 2 of this year were six times large than spot. Now, the entity that became FTX Europe was originally acquired in late 2021 for 376 million. The firm was already licensed in Cyprus at the time, which allowed it to access European markets. Since the bankruptcy, the entity, along with its valuable license, have attracted interest from Crypto .com and Trek Labs as well. According to documents viewed by Fortune, Coinbase expressed interest immediately after the FTX bankruptcy and again as recently as last month. That said, FTX Europe has also been in the crosshairs of the U .S.-based FTX bankruptcy team for clawbacks. The estate launched a lawsuit against FTX Europe executives claiming that the original acquisition was a horrendous business decision, arguing that FTX effectively paid 376 million for a $2 million operating license, and on top of this, the sale of FTX Europe seems like a difficult task with active litigation surrounding the firm. In July, the U .S.-based FTX estate said, The FTX debtors' professional advisors have concluded that there is no realistic possibility of a sale. However, last Thursday, they said, The FTX debtors are committed to maximizing the value of FTX's assets to drive customer recoveries. As such, the FTX debtors are continuing to evaluate whether there are viable options for the sale of some or all of the assets of the FTX Europe business. Now one small aside on Coinbase. Arkham Intelligence claimed to have mapped Coinbase's bitcoin wallets and according to Arkham, Coinbase holds almost 1 million bitcoin worth around $25 billion at current market prices. This would amount to almost 5 % of the bitcoin in circulation, similar to the amount held in wallets believed to be owned by Satoshi Nakamoto. Arkham's report showed that Coinbase's largest cold wallet holds around 10 ,000 bitcoin, and the firm believes that Coinbase has additional bitcoin holdings which are not yet labeled and could not be identified. According to data published by CoinGecko, Coinbase only owns around $200 million worth of this gigantic bitcoin stash, with the rest attributable to client custody. However, staying on the Europe question and how valuable this Cyprus license actually is, with Europe's MICA regulations coming into force from June of next year, some firms are beginning to warn that a clear lack of guidance could lead to disruption. The MICA rules were intended to provide a comprehensive framework, but there are still numerous grey areas. One of the major problems surrounds stablecoins. There is currently no guidance on how MICA stablecoin regulations will apply to foreign and decentralized issuers. The default scenario seems to be a ban in Europe unless these issuers can obtain the appropriate licensing, with no arrangement to recognize approvals in other jurisdictions. The European Banking Authority has warned that there will be no grace period for coins already on the market. The EBA and its sister agency, the European Securities and Markets Authority, ESMA, are currently taking public consultation on how the MICA regulations should be implemented. Relatedly last week, the head of legal at Binance France said during a public hearing hosted by the EBA, we are heading towards a delisting of all stablecoins in Europe on June 30th. This could have a significant impact on the market in Europe compared to the rest of the world. Now, Binance CEO CZ quickly walked back the comments claiming, it was a question taken out of context. In fact, we have a couple of partners launching Euro and other stablecoins in fully compliant manners of course. A blog post from Binance explained further, stating that they would be required to delist stablecoins that fail to gain registration in Europe and that no licenses have been granted to stablecoin issuers currently. Binance wrote, While we are confident that there will be constructive solutions in place before the mid -2024 deadline, if left as is, this could have an impact on the European crypto market and the competitiveness of European crypto exchanges in the global market. Now the requirement that stablecoin issuers are EU -based could cause further problems for decentralized organizations. Thomas Vogel, a partner at law firm Latham & Watkins said, So, this is sort of the challenge with MICA. As comprehensive as the regulations are written, how they get implemented is still fairly up in the air. There was commentary around the time that MICA was being voted upon that it could either be a big step in giving the crypto industry a clear set of rules to function, or work as a de facto crypto ban depending on how it was implemented and whether enough licenses were granted. Now, with a little over nine months until MICA comes into force, there is still time to ensure that rules are workable for existing firms, but it appears that there is a lot of work left to do in that regard. Anyways, it's definitely a story to keep an eye on, as something that was seen as largely positive could become quite bad quite quickly. However, friends, that is where we're going to wrap for today. Lots going on in this fascinating world of crypto. Wherever you are enjoying it from, I appreciate you listening. And until next time, be safe and take care of each other.

Markets Daily Crypto Roundup
A highlight from Crypto Update | Bitcoin Buying and Ethers Inflation Rate
"This episode of Markets Daily is sponsored by Kraken. It's Monday, September 25th, 2023, and this is Markets Daily from Coindesk. My name is Noelle Acheson, Coindesk collaborator and author of the Crypto is Macro Now newsletter on Substack. On today's show, we're talking about notable Bitcoin buying, Ether's inflation rate, and more. So you don't miss an episode, be sure to follow the podcast on your platform of choice. And just a reminder, Coindesk is a news source and does not provide investment advice. Now, a markets roundup. Bitcoin and Ether have been drifting lower over the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin down 1 .6%, as at 10am Eastern Time trading at $26 ,158. Ether is down 1 .2%, trading at $1 ,576. Today's moves notwithstanding, the underperformance of Ether so far this month is notable. In a recent episode, I talked about the ratio between the Bitcoin and the Ether price as a gauge on market sentiment. When it's climbing, Bitcoin is doing better, and when the ratio is falling, Ethereum is outperforming. Late last week, this ratio reached its highest point in over a year, and it is currently more than 25 % higher than at the time of Ethereum's move to proof of stake last September. But rather than suggest that the upgrade has not delivered value, it shows the heavy weight of market sentiment on asset prices. Since the upgrade, the market has had to contend with the implosion of FTX and other key market players, and the regulatory mood in the US has certainly chilled, suppressing Ethereum activity. And the underperformance persists even as the likelihood of approval of the first Ether futures ETF climbs. At a conference last week, a Bloomberg analyst put the chances of this vehicle being approved by the US Securities and Exchange Commission at 95%. Not a sure thing yet, but those odds are pretty high. In traditional markets, US stocks look set to continue their light from Friday, which could, if this trend persists over the rest of the week, live up to the market legend of the September effect. Historical market performance shows that September is typically the worst performing month for the S &P 500. The index has been down for just over half of all Septembers since 1928. That's not a glaring majority, but it looks like this month will add to the legend. Earlier this morning, the S &P 500 and the Nasdaq were both flat to slightly down, while the Dow Jones was down over two -tenths of a percent. Crossing the Atlantic, the FTSE 100 and the German DAX were also trending lower earlier today, both down 1 .2 % on Friday's close. The Euro Stoxx 600 index was down slightly less, just over nine -tenths of a percent. Sentiment is weighed down by concerns about China's property sector, the impact of higher US interest rates, and a lot of data last week showing a contracting Eurozone economy. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei index rose almost nine -tenths of a percent, as the Bank of Japan's commitment to loose monetary policy, at least for now, is supporting investor sentiment. In China, stocks were weighed down by intensifying property sector concerns as liquidators were appointed to yet another developer and the Evergrande restructuring hit a roadblock. The Shanghai Composite closed over half a percent down on Friday. The Hang Seng got hit even harder, closing down just over 1 .8%, reaching its lowest level since November of last year. In commodities, the Brent crude benchmark was more or less steady over the weekend. This is despite an announcement today that Russia plans to ease some aspects of its diesel and gasoline export ban, partially relieving, for now anyway, a potential squeeze in those key markets. Earlier today, the benchmark was trading at just under $92 per barrel, still well above where it was a year ago, but down from its recent peak of over $95. The gold price was also stable over the weekend, despite continued US dollar strength. Earlier today, it was trading at $1 ,924 per ounce.

Evangelism on SermonAudio
A highlight from Leveraging Relationships In Evangelism
"All right, well, I got the microphone this morning for the first time in like nine days and a little bit, not nervous, I'm very excited about preaching this morning. Brother Hunter came into my office. You go over to Mark chapter number four. Brother Hunter came into my office on Friday and he said, I am so glad I am not the one preaching after that revival. And I told him, I said, I'm glad you're not the one preaching after revival too. And, but I am excited about preaching to us this morning. I've got a heart full of stuff I wanna cover. In fact, my heart is so ready for it. I wanna pray ahead of time. I wanna pray to start out the service and we're gonna get a running start. I'm so excited about it, mind you. I have actually, I told my wife, I worked in, I draw in my notes. I have, sometimes I have an issue reading. I'm a little bit dyslexic and things. So I actually put like illustrations in my notes and I, in my notes, because of how excited I am, I actually drew a yellow triangle for a yield sign to remind me, slow down, okay? Slow down during the service today. So that's my hope. I wanna try to be slower for you today because I just got a heart full of stuff. I hope you do as well. I hope as you've come to revival over the last few days that God is doing a work in your heart. He's certainly doing a work in our church. And I don't wanna leave you behind, okay? And I mean that with all sincerity. I don't mean that as a threat. And you know, either get on the bus or we're gonna run you over. That's not my heartbeat at all. But if the bus leaves the station, I want you on the bus. And a lot of our meeting next week's gonna be about that. And I'm just looking forward to what God's gonna do. But we're gonna start with prayer this morning and ask God's blessing on the service. And would you pray for me as I preach? I'm not nervous particularly. I just, I wanna do the sermon justice. There's some big things I think in our church that we've gotta grasp. Me as a Christian and you as a Christian, we've gotta lay hold on some of these ideas. If we are gonna have an effective global outreach and local outreach, there's some things we really gotta lay hold on. And so pray for me, but also pray for you in these next few moments that God would work in your heart and that the word of God would not fall on deaf ears, but that you would receive it with gladness and with meekness. I love that that's one of the ways Paul says we're to receive the word with meekness. Meekness simply means power under control. So you've got all this ability, you've got all this horsepower under the hood, if you will, but you need to have that tempered and controlled by the Holy Spirit. And when you receive this word, there's power that comes with it. And we've gotta let the Holy Spirit guide us as a church. So let's pray and we'll dive in. God, I need you today. And Lord, you know that's true. And so Lord, I don't wanna waste this prayer time. I simply don't wanna, I don't simply wanna just fill in with prayer time either. Lord, I need a special unction from on high this morning. I know the power is present. I just, I'd like access to it. And I pray God that in a special way, your spirit would do a work in our hearts that we couldn't explain as any other method than yours. And so Father, we commit this service to you. I pray you'd allow me to say the things you desire. And Lord, I hesitate to pray this. You've done this before, but Lord, if there's something you don't want me to say, I pray I wouldn't say it either. But I pray that today's service just be specially guided by your spirit. And Father guide this church. Lord, give us a special grace as a church to be able to accomplish certain things. Lord, I so loved what preacher said on, I think it was Wednesday night, about the grace bestowed upon the churches of Macedonia. They had a special grace on them. And I pray for a special grace for us as well, Lord, that we would have a part in global evangelization, but also local evangelization as well, Lord. Spark a flame in us, rekindle the fire. And Lord, help us to have a passion for souls in a way that we have not known prior. And God, would you burn that flame brightly if we ever to reach this world, we're gonna have to adjust some things as a church and as Christians and as parents and as spouses. I pray God that just in a special way, you'd work in our hearts. We ask in Christ's name, amen. Let me say again, what an amazing week we had. I hope that you were here and we had great crowds each night. So if you weren't here, I may not have even noticed that because the crowd was so good, but it was a blessing to see what God is doing in our church and working in our church. We've been praying through the, if you think about it, we've been trying for the whole year to align our mission strategy and our evangelism strategy closer to the scripture. And we have certainly heard a truckload of scripture this week and just Bible verse after Bible verse after Bible verse, story after story from the scripture about how global evangelization works. And so we are trying to align to that. Let me say this too. I'll talk more about this next Sunday afternoon as well, but let me say, I have never been more proud and more relieved to be a Baptist than I am right now. And here's the reason, and I am convinced a Baptist, but that's a sidebar. But what I am grateful to be a Baptist for is that as a Baptist, if anything defines a Baptist, it's that this is our source of authority. That if the Bible tells us to do it, that we are supposed to do it. If it's in the book, it should be done by God's people. And if what we're doing, we find to be incompatible with what's in the book, then we're the ones that are supposed to change. And that will and has always been true of Baptists. And so long as we call ourselves a Baptist, and I think till Jesus comes back, that's our intent. But as Baptist, that means we're supposed to be doing what we find in this book. We're supposed to be doing it the way we find in this book. And we don't do the things that we do as Baptists historically or presently because other people are doing it. We don't do what we do as Baptists because it's pragmatic or it works. We as Baptists, if anything throughout history has defined a Baptist, it has been that their source of authority is found from the scripture. In fact, even pastoral authority, it only is only borrowed from the Bible and only goes so long as the Bible allows it to go. So the only real source of authority we get is from the Bible. And so in areas where the Bible gives clear instructions and examples, what we are supposed to do is follow those instructions and examples. And over the last couple of weeks, we've been working, I've been working in my office 50 plus hours reading Baptist history from our inception in the early 1500s to how it flowed through America and all of those things. And if anything is true of the Baptist, it's this, that this book gets to define what we do. And as a pastor, I just wanna say, I'm relieved that that's the case. Because if there's a change we have to make as a church, all I have to do is copy what scripture says. All you and I have to do is copy what scripture says. You remember when you were a kid and maybe some of you don't, but my generation will probably remember, you remember tracing paper? I don't know if that's still a thing or if it was a thing before me. Those older than me, did you have tracing paper as well? Oh, okay, all right, I just assumed it was all rock and, I'm just kidding, just kidding. But tracing paper, all you have to do, you can pretend, people will give you credit for being an awesome artist when all you did was copy, right? And as Baptists, we don't have to be awesome artists, we just have to copy. I don't have to come up with some original plan in my genius little brain, all I have to do is copy. And so as a Baptist, that's the relief I get to take as a pastor to say, hey, church family, all we have to do is copy. And we've spent the last week hearing how God desires for us to do it. The problem is, and maybe you've experienced this when you were a kid, if you accidentally take two pieces of tracing paper or three pieces of tracing paper, it becomes harder to see the lines. And I'm afraid that sometimes in some ways as Baptists, we have heritage and we have the way we've inherited and we've had the default positions that don't necessarily, the lines aren't necessarily unbiblical, they're just not compatible with the patterns we find in scripture. And so what we're gonna do over the next couple of weeks is just revisit, hey man, this is what the Bible says and here's what we ought to be doing and here's how we ought to follow that and what a blessing that is. So do not miss next Sunday afternoon as we fellowship. We've got some plans, but we want input, we want involvement and contribution. This is our collective church. And as we heard, evangelism is an all church responsibility. It's a whole church strategy. Well, if it's a whole church strategy, here's my plan. I want it to be a whole church decision. I don't want anybody in a year from now saying, oh, pastor, you did this. No, we are gonna do this. We as a church are gonna make some decisions together about how we want to approach missions, where we want to dedicate our money. There's partnerships, there's journeys, all the things that we have talked about. And so I am excited about the opportunity to preach. It was a great missions conference, but I will say this, halfway through the missions conference, God had already really worked in my heart about what direction and then shortly thereafter gave me the passages to go to. It's March chapter number four. And so what I want us to do is, I want to be careful how I say this. I want to come down, not to reality, but I want to come down to today. Right now, I am starry eyed. I cannot wait for the things that are coming. I want to go to all the world. We have some plans for March and the following six months after that with our church and everybody wants to go. They're in the middle of next year. There are some things in the works. We're gonna talk a lot about it next week, but listen to me, church family, we don't have to wait to reach the world, nor should we wait to reach the world for the simple reality that Bakersfield and Kern County is very much a part of the world. And so while we get excited and starry eyed and man, I want to go do, and I do too, and I am excited and I've been talking to some different men and trying to put together a team and put together a plan. And I am excited. We need to cross the oceans, but we cannot forget there are people who are literally across the fence from us who are within our reach. For the last few months, we've been driving as a staff and planning for a special Sunday on October the 22nd. At the end of service, you'll get to see a video and you'll get one of these on your way out. I'll explain more about it, but basically what we're going to do as a church is I'm gonna give you five tracks and over the course of this next week, you're gonna pray and ask God what five families you're gonna go invite and bring to church that are within your reach. And that Sunday is gonna be entitled True Purpose. And the heartbeat of it, you'll see the video in a minute like I said, the heartbeat of that is that your neighbors, your family, your friends and your coworkers would understand what the true purpose of Jesus coming was. I remember as a lost person, I had no idea why Jesus was here. I had no concept of what he came to do. I didn't know he was God and there was a bunch of things I didn't know until someone explained to me the whole purpose Jesus came. And the whole purpose of October the 22nd, we're gonna see more over the course of the next few weeks is to bring those nearest us to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. And please hear me, listen, church family, I want, I am praying, I am awake, planning, trying to build out a global missions strategy. I wanna reach Zambians and I wanna reach Angolans and I wanna reach Fijians, but God also desires for us to do the work of an evangelist right here and now in our communities and in our county. And the passage we're going to this morning actually brings that whole, all my introduction into a very clear biblical focus. So we're gonna go to Mark chapter number five. I think I told you chapter four, I apologize. Mark chapter number five is where we're gonna be this morning. Mark chapter number five, we're gonna read our texts together, we're gonna walk through it, we're gonna unpack it and we're gonna really introduce the whole concept and walk through the whole story together. And we're gonna see this story in detail and we're really not gonna get to the message until the very, very end, but you stay with me and we'll learn something this morning. Mark chapter number five, verse number one says, and they, that's speaking of Jesus and his disciples came over onto the other side of the sea and that's the Sea of Galilee. And so Jesus has just left Capernaum, that's his hometown. And he's traveling 40 miles to the east and he's heading over into verse number one, into the country of the Gadarenes. So that's Gadara. And in chapter number four, in fact, you can look back there in just a second with me, but in chapter number four, while they're making this journey, a massive storm hits. And what happens is Christ is on the boat and the disciples are losing their minds. They think this boat's gonna sink reasonably so. And Jesus speaks to the wind and the waves and he calms them. Now, please understand to you and I, that's like, yeah, that's what Jesus does. But to the disciples, they have just started following him. You realize we're only in chapter number five, Jesus has barely just called the disciples. They're actually on their first Gentile mission according to Mark that they've ever done. They're gonna go over into the Gadarenes. But this is one of the first miracles the disciples have ever seen. And at the end of this chapter, you can look at it, chapter four, at the end of the chapter number four, it ends with the disciples making this beautiful statement. What manner of man is this? That even the winds and the waves obey him. So this unbelievable, unnatural, supernatural thing happens in chapter number four. The sea becomes glass. They end up on the other side of the shore or in the country of the Gadarenes. And I want you to notice what happens immediately. Verse number two.

The Podcast On Podcasting
A highlight from Ep381: Delegate These Tasks To Make Podcasting Easier - Jay Aigner
"Because I'm very much of the mindset that as soon as something becomes a grind or feels too much like work, like hard work when it shouldn't be that hard, I need to switch something up. So I would say the biggest thing I struggle with today is just I've got a pretty good formula for my questions. I got a pretty good cadence for my show and I try to mix it up, but I struggle with how much should I mix it up for myself and my listeners more than keeping it the same and kind of just asking the same things robotically. And if you do 10 episodes a week saying the same thing over and over again, you're just like, man, this is we've got to mix something up here. And I actually just a quick plug to my friend, Els Kramer, runs an awesome podcast. And she was talking about she has these index cards and she basically has a bunch of topics on them. It's money like or success or hobbies or whatever. And she kind of shuffles them up and then we'll like randomly ask them those questions throughout after mixing them in. And I could see how it broke up the monotony of a normal interview for her because she would go, OK, tell me what your thoughts are on money. Right. And it's just like a random thing to throw into an interview. And it really did help her mix up some of those questions. So I think that would be my biggest struggle today is keeping it fresh for myself. Awesome. All right. So the last question is, if somebody's listening and they're not as far along in their journey as you are, what would be your best advice for success in a podcast that maybe we haven't covered today? I talked about a little bit, but use tools. Descript is a great tool. Descript saves a lot of time. But use people like Adam, use people like you. If you're serious about doing the podcast, the production will weigh on you eventually. If you do enough episodes, it doesn't matter how short they are. It doesn't matter how quick you think your process is going to be. It drags on and it's a lot. And if you have close to 100 episodes in the bank like I do, it gets to be a lot. The production is a lot. So delegate, find a team, find an agency, find a freelancer, find a somebody to hand some of that work off to. So you don't just grind down. And it also helps with your cadence. Like you were just mentioned, I just went on vacation and for the first time I had four episodes released and I didn't have to do anything. I didn't have to touch them. I didn't have to download the raw files on my computer. I didn't do anything. The descriptions, the titles, the artwork, the editing, the posting, the sharing on social media. Everything was done because I learned how to delegate that to my team that I have already for my company. And so I would say hire somebody to help you. You're buying your time back. I'm a big proponent of that anyway. If you're considering this a serious sales channel for your business, I would buy your time back by hiring somebody to do the work for you so you can go out and do more episodes. You can book these bigger guests. You can work on your other business, actual business that you're probably trying to do. And you're not spending two to 10 hours a week doing semi monotonous, semi painful parts of the process like uploading and posting social media and just these things are just like over and over again, find somebody to do it for you. And maybe Adam Adams because he's a great guy. Appreciate that. It's been great checking in with you, finding and learning what you've been doing, how to get the success. I loved your idea of just asking for the ratings and reviews, asking people that, you know, you have a relationship with and getting so many in a short amount of time, talking about some of the tools that you use for editing, like the people that you partner with for editing, for making your life easier. The tools that you use on LinkedIn, on pod match, for example, just stuff that we should all be thinking about. And your podcast is the first customer, by the way, if you're listening, the link to the first customer is down in the show notes, so you can scroll down, you can check that out and find out how people are getting their first customers and their second customers, because this is a way that all of us can have growth. So if you've got a business and you listen to a few episodes of the first customer, whether you've had your first customer or not, you're going to learn ways of getting clients, ways of serving more people. The link to the first customer is already in the show notes. Also, Jay's company link is already in the show notes. So if you want to check that out, if you want to work with him for quality assurance for your app or what you're doing, that link's already in the show notes. Same thing, any social media that he wanted you to connect with him on LinkedIn or anything that's in the show notes. So that way you can connect with him there, get him on your podcast or vice versa. I also just mentioned that on this podcast, Jay subtly mentioned that there's two ways to do content. Now, one of the ways is putting the burden of the content on the other person. All you got to do is just ask the questions. And half of my episodes are like that, like this one today with Jay, I'm asking him and all the content's coming from him. And I also queued up some really good content that is going to be beneficial for you. I know what you're going through. I know what you're worried about and I want to support you. And so I have a solo episode that's coming up right after this. I don't want you to go anywhere. It's going to be a short episode packed with value. So I'll see you there. You know, I really don't say this nearly enough. I don't mention this and I feel horrible because it's a great resource for you to be able to take your podcast to the next level. And it's simply a free resource that I don't need your email or anything. It's just a podcasting course that I created that has ended up putting in the very first six episodes of this podcast. So if you haven't checked it out, definitely going to want to just check out those first six episodes, see how they can help you improve your podcast, get in front of more people and have a better result where you're making more money through the podcast, et cetera. So much can happen after you listen through episodes. One, two, three, four, five and six. So if you haven't done it, go do it now. And by the way, if you're subscribed, you'll keep hearing more great content. So to those of you who are, I'll see you on the next episode.

So you know, I think maybe Wednesday. Okay, hold on. Let's just make this real clear right here. I do not take a Gulf Stream or a private plane because people have actually stopped me and said, why are you not on a private plane? I know, they stopped me too. I have never taken a private plane before in my life, but carry on. I was stopped and he threw about Lisa on the Gulf Stream and said, well, the Bombardier we're looking at, but we just don't think we can pull that off. Future's a negative one Dow. Future's negative 14. You're waking up on a Monday to a changed world. Bramo nails it with a quinfecta idea of five or things in a swirl. Let's go to something we haven't talked about yet with a real yield up near new highs, new generational highs, 2 .11 percent. China, the developers, that story unravels to the point, I think I can say there's no bid in the market because there's no market.

It is my birthday tomorrow. So sometimes if my birthday coincides with rewatchables, which I think has only happened one other time, but we like to do a big movie. So that's where we're doing one of my favorite movies the last 40 years. Stay tuned. Coming up next, we had an action packed loaded week three. We're gonna talk Taylor Swift, Travis Kelsey. We're gonna talk about Miami putting up 70. Sal's team losing. We're gonna introduce a new character, parent corner. Sal sent his kid to college. Oh man, this is almost two hours. Let's get to it. First pro jam. Let's get to it. All right, taping this a little after 8 .30, Sunday night Pacific time. The hardest word come in and show business is here. Cousin Sal just watched Pittsburgh Vegas, a bizarre game, but we're not starting there. We're starting with your team. You're stupid cowboys. You compliment me and now that I see what you did here. Okay, all right. Your stupid team that I thought I could throw into a little 11 and a half Arizona, like throw a bit. All they had to do was run by two and a half. I had a FanDuel boost. I had real life money. I had a million dollar pick and it's like, of course they'll beat the Cardinals by two and a half. Rahim thought the Cardinals were tanking. No, no, that's not what happened. And now you're containing cowboys. They couldn't even make it to my birthday before they fell apart. They couldn't even make it to the end of September. Was that the goal? I guess had they known your birthday was a Monday. Yeah, they might've stuck around. I know, I know. I don't know what to tell you. It sucked. I had it tied to everything too. I had an Oregon this and the Chiefs this and the 49ers and the Cowboys and everything. And I didn't even care that they had three, essentially three offensive linemen out or that Trayvon Diggs got hurt. Not that I didn't care, but I didn't think it would affect this game. And then they just got, they went out there and got their asses kicked. 13 penalties and didn't force any turnovers and couldn't do shit in the red zone. And of course it's a double digit loss, jerks. I kept, I had in the back of my head Rahim's theory that the Cardinals were tanking and that they were only playing one, a good first half. And then they would throw away the second half because their real goal is Caleb Williams. So at halftime, I'm like, I'm not going to panic yet. Maybe the Rahim's theory, no. The Rahim's theory was not true. The Cardinals actually played really well. And your team, I will say, look, this happens sometimes. Usually it doesn't happen in week three. It happens later in the year. But the team that is getting smoke blowing up their butts, they have this easy game and say, oh yeah, we're going to Arizona. It's going to be half Dallas fans. This will be a layup for us. So we've seen this scenario, just not this early in the season. What worried me though, from a Dallas standpoint, forget about the offensive line and the blocking stuff. Cause you'll get those guys back. But you do seem to have like third and seven, third and eight if Lamb is covered, where do you go issued? Like, you know, not everyone has the Kelsey type, but you don't have the Devontae Adams. You don't have really any of those guys. You don't have that big physical tight end in the middle. You don't have the awesome, you know, James White type third down running back who's going to get open. And you could really feel it in the red zone. They were one for five in the red zone today. Yeah. I mean, you know, what's his name? The tight end who went to Houston, I already forgot his name from Dallas last year, was our second lead. Schultz was our second leading receiver last year. So yeah, there is something to be said about that. And I do want to put it in proper perspective. If the Eagles lose to Tampa Bay, which is a possibility tomorrow, the week is a wash in the NFC East, right? That means everyone will have lost. So I don't want to get too crazy, but it did expose, you're right, everything I always worry about. Can Dak come up with a big play down the stretch? You know, are these injuries too much to overcome? And Mike McCarthy in that play calling, it really seemed like we were up 12 points trying to bleed the clock, not down 12 points. And it's like, oh, maybe he's just afraid to throw it. And then when we saw, he threw into three defenders and you cleverly quipped, how did they know which of the three were to intercept it? Yeah, that was kind of wrenching. That was an angry text to yours. I was just angrily texting. Like it was your fault that I was losing all my teases. Yeah, he just threw into three guys on one of the biggest plays of the game. Complete panic throw.

Day 6 The Powers St.
Amen. Day 6 The Celestial Choir of Powers The powers have the task of defeating the efforts of the demons in overthrowing the world and are declared the awesome defenders of the cosmos against all evil and the maintainers of all cosmic order and equilibrium. They are the guardians of the heavenly paths, policing the routes to and from heaven to the earth, which means that they concern themselves as well with all humanity. The great harmonizers, they assist each soul to overcome the temptations placed before it to do evil and to lean instead toward the proper action, which is to love and worship God. By the intercession of St. Michael and the Celestial Choir of Powers, may the Lord vouch save to protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Well, glorious Prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the divine King, and our admirable conductor, thou who dost shine with excellence in superhuman virtue, vouchsafe to deliver us from all evil, who turn to thee with confidence, and enable us by thy gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day. Pray for us, oh glorious St. Amen.

"It's always a busy last hour, Kamala Harris fumbles again, the president can't figure out how to walk on a red carpet. He had a cheat sheet for reporters, which creates major constitutional questions because now you have effectively, if true, The White House checking reporters rather than reporters checking The White House which creates a crazy constitutional conflict because the press and freedom of the press is literally written into our constitution. So that they can check The White House. This is just we're living in crazy times. I was also addressing the massive earthquake in the media landscape last night. Is Tucker Carlson did a video on his Twitter channel last night. It was a brief one. Lasted about two minutes. I played some of it. The video is now a tens of millions of views. You have to understand his audience at Fox was only 3 million. But that time, I mean, to be fair, that does in fact are in all their hits on YouTube on rumble TikTok on SnapChat or whatever elsewhere. I mean, there were probably more. But the point is valid nonetheless, that good content is going to win the day. Folks that was not the case back in the day. I mean, think about when it was ABC NBC, CBS, The Washington Post, New York Times, and basically on our side, it was what? Jim, it was Rush Limbaugh. That was it. That was you remember that. It was Limbaugh. Folks, to get a national radio show at any time slot was impossible. You have basically four or 5 slots where people are going to listen. You have morning shows, you have 9 to 12, you had 12 to three, three to 6 and then 6 to 9. Even now it's almost impossible 6 to 9, lavin owns the whole country. East Levinson just about every station, right? I mean the big ones. He just dominates. Three to 6 had him. How did he have to get 700 stations, right? 9 to 12, you got back in there. He's got a ton of stations too. There are others out there. I'm not diminishing him. I'm just saying like there are big players in those spaces. 12 to three has been split up since rush tragically passion. Got me. He got clay, Dana, Eric Erickson. I don't know if Charlie's in this spot, I think he's in the spot too. There are a lot of people in the 12 spot. And then you got morning shows which are generally local. But the point I'm trying to make is it's really difficult or it was pre rumble, YouTube, Twitter, to break out if you were really talented. It was just hard. You could be the most talented human being in talk radio on Planet Earth. You were not getting the 12 anywhere from 12 to 9 because it used to be rush Hannity Levin. Everywhere before rush died, that was it. There was nowhere for you to go. There was nowhere for you to go. It doesn't matter. You can't play center field twice. Mickey Mantle's out there. Yeah, but you don't understand, I'm Willie Mays. Willie, thanks, buddy. You just with nothing we can do. We've got to trade you because we've already got a center Fielder. Those days are over. They are. They are over and the media ecosystem out there to use the unnecessary buzz term. Everybody's using these days. They have to adjust. They have to adjust and adopt. They have to lift and shift because the people running these legacy media companies now, they're not necessarily older folks, but they grew up in a different generation where the content creator wasn't king. They were. Because people would tune into their platforms because they had to. Look, even media ice reporting on it. I read the headline before. Tucker got more views on that than he did at the 8 o'clock spot on his Twitter video. Here's another one. Other people checked out other channels. Valerie Richardson. Newsmax reported a surge in viewers. Newsmax said last night they got 531,000 viewers. Folks, that's a big number. They had to give you the candid scoop here, man. You know, I'm never been here to promote any kind of propaganda for any network. But 531,000 is a big number. Now, you know, to be fair to both sides here, they had a spike after the Arizona incident. And then it came down to earth. A lot of people return to Fox. That happened again in May. I mean, fox's weathered a lot of storms in the past. The people are good at it. You know, they've been the focus of a lot of attention for a long time. Some of it, you know, ridiculous coming from the left. I mean, endless charades of boycotts and nonsense. Well, they recover. They might put 531,000 is a big number. The no doubt about that. Here's another number. The number for, you know, I say this not that pat myself on the back that I want to injure my elbow again. You know what I did that yesterday? I tore up my elbow. And I'm like, let me pat myself on the back, Jim saw the. He saw the look on my face. I forget sometimes my elbows don't work. And I try to do things that don't work, you know? And I tried to pat myself. I literally can not pat myself on the back. It doesn't work.

Like Michael Porter is barely be able to elevate himself as a number two options with the Denver Nuggets. Yeah, I mean, you'd be cursing. You'd be knocking things over as you bent down between the toilet in the wall to fasten something there. Definitely be noise. Yes, yes, and the irony of installing a toilet where you know you get when you're doing that for somebody like me. That's not a good situation to be. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. Do you need a specialist for that? They're a different level of plumbing pipe. Yeah, I don't. I don't know. Extra wide pipe. It's a big one. I don't know. But I will tell you this. Speaking of bad plumbing and looking like toilets, the Milwaukee Bucks enter a big bogus Would you call this a gotta Have it. Game three tonight. No, I would actually go with the irrational must win because yes, they can lose, so it's not technically a must win, but they must win this game tonight. They can't get down three. Nothing. They are not going to beat the Nets four consecutive games, so this is a must win. The blocks tonight. Interesting news. Kind.

"In the last hour of the show when we were talking about CRT and all of the stuff that we've been talking about a lot that's happening in schools. And I've mentioned before. How grateful I am. Anytime I see national news coverage of this because every little bit Of awareness helps on the more parents realized that this is something that is truly insidious, and it's happening absolutely everywhere, The more action more active, they will be in making sure that they're looking out for their kids education and an example A recent example of this is that I saw Ben Dominic. I'm not sure if I'm saying his name right if it's dominate your Domenech. He's the guy unfortunately, who is married to Meghan McCain? Oh, he's also the founder of the Federalist, So he does great work. He had Hey, was talking about this with the panel? Not just about CRT, but CRT in in relation to woke anus in general, and how ridiculous this all looks to other nations, right? Other nations looking into the United States right now, and seeing that this is such a focus, especially adversaries, especially the China's and the Russia's of the world have got to be loving this so much. Take a listen to what he said on trace. The other nations around the world are laughing at us when it comes to this. I mean, you saw what happened when China met with the bidet officials in Alaska and we're you know, downgrading their ability to have any moral authority Because of America's policing policy. Other nations around the world are laughing at America's embrace. Of this woke religion That is critical race theory, which, if you look at the polls, and I'm sure Kristin can speak to this, you know appeals primarily to white left of center Democrats, as opposed to actually, you know, solving any problems for ethnically diverse Americans, You know, Hispanic American Americans, in particular, are reacting This politically, The stretch of critical race theory into these public schools is something that they do not view is being in any way in favor of trying to teach their students the skills that they need in order to succeed in the marketplace, which is the American dream is still the American dream, and it's not racist to say that Bravo to that. Yeah, And you just touched on something super important, which is getting this idea and these topics and these discussions into the mainstream national media because so many people Remain unaware of what's going on. They'd be against it if they knew, but they're not motivated enough to do the research, which is sad. It's a sad statement, but they're not motivated enough to the research in the work, and I guess and Many ways participate your child's life, and so they need to see these on national television and radio and things of that nature. And so this is it is good. This is definitely this topic is definitely gaining traction. Absolutely. And unfortunately, there are also mainstream media outlets who are mischaracterizing the opposition to critical race here. I know it's surprising. No, it's surprising, especially when you think about The New York Times, for example, doing such a thing. But in fact, because we've already talked about the fact that dissent ist that does the Tennessee Legislature. I think what if some of the other places that have banned Idaho I think is another there. Governor has banned altogether critical race theory from being allowed to be taught in schools. And so that's been a recent move by Texas too. And so Texas, you know, tries to have the same kind. Kind of ban on CRT with the best of intentions that we have all talked about. We talked about why CRT is bad, and they know it's bad, right? So it made sense, of course for Texas to try to eliminate it in its schools. But the way that the New York Times tries to frame that is so untrue and unfair. So they had an article and the headline of the article. Woz and I'm not making this up. Quote Texas pushes to obscure the state's history of slavery and racism. I mean, it's just utterly untrue. They're not. They're not trying to ban Teaching about the nation's history, and certainly they're not trying to ban teaching about slavery about segregation about our actual history. They're trying to ban the idea that everything needs to be looked at through the lens of race, which is what critical race theory is all about, And that's a very different thing than what the New York Times tried to portray it as Yeah, and that's It's another great example of the manipulation of the media banking on people be Being dumbed down, uninformed, uneducated and, most importantly, un inquisitive to find the truth. They believe in many ways because they've been successful with it that if if you put it in a headline, very few people ever clicked the link. Very few people ever read the story. You don't have to put any effort into the story itself. It's just the headline and they continue to bank on that. Which is why domination and the dumbing down of the public education system, which, if you look in a lot of these places that are doing this critical race theory stuff they are they are. They are not rewarding exceptionalism in education from young students anymore. You know, we talk about these honors classes, etcetera that they're getting rid of, and this is why they need people to be uninformed. Well, and it's also important to that We create the awareness that there is awareness created because it turns out that at least according Tomo, some new polling much the vast majority of Americans oppose this kind of ideology in education, and especially in K through 12 schools. So there was a recent study done by competitive edge research was released by parents defending education 74 purse. Scent of respondents are at least somewhat or strongly opposed to white privilege training and two schools communicating that non white people are inherently oppressed simply because of the color of their skin, right and any rational person would be any rational person would not want their child exposed that on either side were regardless of what their skin color is. But again, it comes back to that if they can keep people, un educated, uninformed and then when people get a whiff of it, manipulate them into what it is. I mean, look at what it's going on in Carmel. It's going in the southeastern. It's gone on in Brownsburg. That's the school board's lie. They lie to people in that Brownsburg meeting. They said it right out of the gate before any citizen comments because they knew That school board president said that because they knew and the people are on to him. Oh, we're not teaching critical race theory er bullcrap. You know exactly what you're doing. You know you've been caught and you're banking on people being stupid Well, and you said just a couple minutes ago that people tend to just read headlines in that stories. There was a perfect example of that that I saw yesterday on Twitter. It made me so angry. There was Ah tweet from the hill. And the headline. There's a picture of chipping Joanna gains right of Magnolia chipping, Joanna gains its There's a picture of them and then that the caption or the tweet rather, that the Hill says is as follows. TV stars Chip and Joanna gains donate to campaign against critical race theory in schools. Uh, okay. So I'm thinking. All right. Well, I mean, That's interesting. Good for them good for them. I suppose. You know, that's that is something that I am also opposed to. So that's interesting to see that this very famous celebrity couple is now donating money to fight CRT in schools. But when you actually open the story, all it is Is that chip gave $1000 to his sister's campaign for school board. She's against critical race theory. That's that's one of the things that she that is important to her. Yes, So instead of actually saying, Here's what you know Chip is supporting his sister. Yeah, because that's actually the story. They try to make it like this huge thing. And so people are going to read those headlines and people who are woke are now all of a sudden going to try to cancel Chip and Joanna games. Yeah, one of the things that public education has also done very well and again, the Republicans could say whatever they want, But in the case of Indiana, Mike Pence, and the Republican majorities were completely responsible for this..

"In Highland. Little Todd. I was inspired to call you from the last hour hearing the lady calling saying, What can we do? And I am a 68 year old grandmother and rural Nebraska sitting with 14 inches of snow in my driveway, and I look at myself as an army of one. Today, I wrote a letter to Cole's canceling my 20 something year old Cole's account saying that if you want to cancel my clindell for his, uh Free speech than I am canceling Cole's I will no longer into your store as long as you're a fascist company, and I called Ben Sasse his office and said, Oh, thanks for my senators. That does not represent the Constitution. Now I feel really great living in a state that doesn't have a senator. That believes in the Constitution and later this afternoon, I plan to write a letter to the bishop of Lincoln, asking him to take our masses that the covert people are afraid to go to Off of YouTube because YouTube sensors the president, so what's to say that they won't censor the mass that they decide that they don't like the Catholic Church Pro life stance. So, yes, you can do something. It doesn't matter how small you are. Doesn't matter if it's just something. You are a new army of one Do what's in front of you Do what you can speak up. And as soon as my husband and I are eligible for the vaccine, we are going to get the vaccine where intelligent people and we will. We are in the risk group. We'll get the vaccine and as soon as we pass, the time were were immune, are mask are coming off. We are not going to participate in the mask mandate after that, because why should we? That is our sign of freedom and our masks will come off after we've received the vaccine. We are going to do what we can, and that's how I think you participate. You fight back where you can never underestimate the big importance of the little things. The big importance. The little things that is beautifully, beautifully said and out point something out just to take on to what you're saying. Linda is Joe Biden's dementia canceled Some 21,000 maybe upto what 60,000 jobs all in with the stroke of a pen he made out of no. Nobody signing if you live in a state that produces oil If you live in a state that processes domestic oil One issue. One issue. To the people who work there. And who voted for Joe Biden. You go toe one issue again and again. Do you see that? He lied to you. And you're sending a Hey, I'm really sorry that you lost your job. Do you see that? He lied to you and is you're helping them. Hey, is you're coming back from this job loss of the things we can do. And do you see the delight and I'm not saying politicized. You know a person's tragedy. I'm saying point out to them. This is why we were warning you to not vote for this man that one issue. May seem like just a small thing. But you said, never underestimate the value of the small things don't do that, because of the small things. Take these messages to your friends. And point out the light. I'll give you another one. No hormones, no surgery, go onto the girls team and steal a state championship from your daughter, and by the way, it's happened in Alaska, and it's happened in New Hampshire. And that one issue. I've watched issues like this. I've watched issues like this turn people to an awareness of what the Democrats have become. That's a change and that opens him up to something very, very important. There's a there's a feminist. I'm fasted with her intellectual name is Megan Murphy. And she probably disagrees with me on a lot of fundamental things. But I watched her approach this issue of wait a minute boy can be a girl. And now all of a sudden she's saying Wait a minute. She's been a member of the left, though she's in Canada, so that's not much help to us. But there are people like Megan Murphy here in this in this country who can then be turned towards and you don't think they've lied to you about elections. "The most important And the country that were born in Is the best. Great to have you with us, 800 to 822882. If you want to be on the program here is a couple of sound bites to illustrate a couple of points that I have been making all day. On the program specifically in the last hour. First up is the lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania is name is John Fetterman. He was on the CNN with Poppy Harlow. Some show called CNN newsroom on Friday. She had a question for him. She said, Mr Lieutenant Governor. It sounds like you sounds like you don't think Twitter made the right decision by taking the president off the platform. Is that right, saying that Pennsylvania was rigged or that we were trying to steal the election? Unquote. That's a lie and that you do not have the right that is not protected speech. The second, those tweets went up. They should have been deleted. That's not the platform in someone. It's deleting lies that are yelling fire in a crowded theater when there is none, and there's a difference that is not protected speech. No. One Republican Democrat whatever has the right To say those kind of incendiary lies who gets to crawl in lies? Who is this magnificent personage sitting somewhere who gets to proclaim that whatever, Trump said about Pennsylvania is lies. But more importantly, Lieutenant governor Federal what the hell did you people do for four years? If not lie. About Trump colluding with Russians to steal the 2016 election. When everybody knows it was Hillary Clinton that did exactly that. You guys still haven't conceded the 2016 electro? Yeah, Hillary may have but you haven't You're justifying everything. You're doing that Donald Trump on the basis of a lie that you can't stop telling. And nobody is deep platform in you. And nobody is taking your tweets down. And nobody's even suggesting that your tweets Lieutenant Governor Federman, come down. The Democrat Party has spent the last four years lying about the 2016 election. How in the world is what you people are continuing to do any different than what President Trump is saying about Pennsylvania Today? You guys started all of this. You guys on the Democrat side with the media are the people who got it all rolling that the American electoral system has been torched. That it has lost its honor and integrity. You're the ones for four years with never ending reports in the New York Times your Bible and it's CNN, The Washington Post. Your old testament that all of this that happened was undoubtedly true. You have put everything on your side up to the Test of legitimacy and you have claimed the Trump colluded with Putin. You said that he was a traitor. You said that he was an agent of Vladimir Putin, You said, and you never had a scintilla of evidence. Mr Lieutenant Governor, The Mueller report came up with a flat out Nothing. There was no need for the Mueller report. There was never any evidence that Trump had done anything. For Donald Trump for a couple of weeks or a month talks about how Pennsylvania may have been compromised. And you think somebody has sitting up on high determining that's a lie. And for that, Donald Trump needs to have those tweets taken down. But nobody is suggesting it. Any of your lives be taken down. Nobody's even suggesting that what you guys said for four years, his lies except people like me. But you don't have any evidence. And nobody made a move to shut you down. Nobody made a move to the platform. You nobody made a move to Take your so called offending tweets down that one of you said, hear you saying Pennsylvania was rigged or that we were trying to steal the election? That's a lie. What you say about Donald Trump for four years and counting. Lieutenant Governor Fetterman. You don't have that right? It's not protected Speech. What protected you for four years? And counting. Oh, The New York Times reporter. I'm sorry, The New York Times reporting it legitimizes it. No. The New York Times reporting it. Does nothing but slam the reputation of The New York Times. The second, Those tweets went up from the president. They should have been deleted. I could say the same thing about the never ending lies from John Clapper from from Clapper from John Brennan. From Comey. From Hillary Climbing the list is never ending. The number of people who consistently lied struck strokes. Merck Lisa Paige. That whole FBI combine all And yet Nobody made a move to take your tweets down or two. Suggest The New York Times not be able to report what they've reporting because I didn't have any evidence. They lied about the fact that they had evidence. This is exactly what if you descent You're a domestic terrorist folks, If you if you descend from whatever it is the Democrat Party today believes They are claiming they have a right to shut you down to delete your tweets. Now the lieutenant governor here, Pennsylvania, Mr Federman, he stopped short. Suggesting that Trump B d platform that he didn't agree with the Rasputin, Jack. And his decision to take Trump offered Twitter. But we have somebody who does he ask you can always kind of Democrats to give you what you want..

"Kerschner is here doing social media for us monitoring What's left of the system. You went after a really big weekend, Right? Smokes. All right. Good news. What What? Go ahead. Jackie proceeds that I was just introducing everybody saying that we're monitoring what's left of social media after the weekend. Why Okay? No, thank you for the last hour right now. All right? Yeah, But what do we do that? You know, you've been teasing me about me saying use the phone. But what is there? What's the replacement for? Is there and we got to such a point that there's no replacement for it. I think the sad thing is is that this just makes people even more isolated in a time where they're already isolated because of the pandemic. And if this is meant to somehow unifier, calm people down a Whoa. The New York Times had a story about how this is just going to inflame people even more, and it's just It's such a stupid move for people who are saying they're trying to do this for peace and unity. It's just it's ridiculous. It's just not who's saying that. Who is saying performed well, if we're talking about social media, we're talking about the platforms themselves. We're talking about politics. The idea that you're going to impeach Trump with a week left in office is also not doing yourself any favors. I mean, I'm watching them because I just think it's going to come back to hurt everybody. I think right now people is appetite on both sides of the aisle is just so over everything that I would think if this continues down a current path. If there is any thing, like any strength left to our republic that it's going to be a mass upheaval in two years. I mean, I can't imagine why would anybody want to re vote for anybody right now? I mean, it's just it's wells that, Zach I would think that would be a good thing because we need to flush. You talk about the swamp. We need to flush these people. Out who are they're flush him right down the great free and fair election. So you know Yes, That's what I would think people would want to do. But who knows? The White House lowered flags to half staff because of the Capitol Hill police officer who died from injuries. What actually did happen to him? Did he? Somebody shoot him or Did he get knocked down a set of stairway he was and do We know who it was that did it off anybody in the mob? I think he made it back to the office and then collapsed. And then they don't know if they knew right away that he had issues. Yeah, they're saying that you either got hit with like a piper. Fire extinguishers what I've heard And there's tons of surveillance in there, though. I mean, there are a lot of surveillance cameras so Already over the weekend, the FBI arrested tons of people. I don't know how much news it actually made when there were a lot of arrests over the weekend, just using security footage to try to track these people down. Speaking of tracking people down, apparently, Camilla Harris is a busy promoting herself. She's on the cover of Vogue and Victoria. You were saying a lot of people. Are stirred up because of this, like they're two different covers. One looks kind of like a test shot and then the other. She's in a light blue. Pantsuit and looks very official. Unfortunately, the better picture of her in the pantsuit is only going to be the digital cover the other one where she's standing in jeans, her chuck Taylors and looks like maybe a leather blazer, something What's a Chuck Taylor? Her sneakers, the those of the one that's the one who that's going to go to print and a lot of people feel like it's just disrespectful. And that's kind of been the running commentary over the weekend is that it looked way too casual and that the other The other cover looks so much better. Why wouldn't you not? Why would you not put that one in print? But Vogue? I guess I don't know they make words spoke typically makes very strange editorial decisions. So who reads Vogue? I don't know who's around the story's still the fashion Bible. Really? Yeah. All right. So it's I'm looking at adjectives being used to describe her underwhelming is one of them Unflattering is another unfitting. The first female vice president, right. I think it's I just think it's great. It's four years since someone in elected office like at the presidential level has been allowed to be on the cover of the ice out. Melania so They did. Why? Because she was married a drunk. You know when you're well, Anna Wintour. Yeah, that was her choice, So it's nice to see their back to talking about strong women in politics, Jennifer It's really good, I there's no way you're gonna get this or four years. Listen, I didn't vote for you. Not my choice. If you're the last person that I would want to see In that position. Frankly, if I was going to, I would have voted for Biden had there been somebody like Mayor Pete in there. Somebody who actually has something going for them and who is interested in public service and not themselves. Because the only reason she's there is because she used her influence that she's been maneuverings around in that whole sport. I want to swamp of people of people that she used to get money to raise money for Biden's campaign. That's one of the was one of her number one qualifications for getting the job anyway. So let's what can we find some good When we look around here we have a new national park. How about them apples? Because in the cove it read that pissed another one. This is this is perfect in the relief bill. The stemware stuck in between extended unemployment benefits and stimulus checks. There's a new national park. That's been funded in the southeastern part of West Virginia, who would've fuck it. It's called New River Gorge. And managed by the park Service as a National river Since that first word to describe something beautiful. Well, it is. It's cut, like you know that if you look at it going Canyon gorgeous. What the Grand Canyon is? Yeah, Zsa seriously cut In the in this case in the earth caused by that make sense. Yeah, right. Exactly. So New River Gorge National Park is designated national preserve 7000 acres of Scenic River Front, which has been protected 65,000 acres around it, apparently with hunting and fishing access that sort of thing. United States of America always too much land. I say that this tongue in cheek If there was some good news, I don't always good news for taxpayers now have to assume more control and cost more money. Does he get more personnel? Farmers where there's open land that was being used for agriculture is now closed on. Control of land is way too much of it now. So was in West Virginia, though. This one I actually agree with this was this was fought bipartisan. This was across the aisle because this they're hoping that this will bring revenue to the state and West Virginia needs it. And so this was something that Joe Mansion and I forget who the other senator is. And and a lot of the members of the house in West Virginia. They were all very much behind this. So you know, I mean, national parks are huge right now, you know, with the pandemic and Harvey travels and stuff. I think it's a good thing. The people of West Virginia need a lot of help They are they have been hit really hard to economically and with the pandemic. So if this can help provide some relief, and it's something positive, and people are outside enjoying nature, I think it's a good thing. My friends who I talked to her last week had hired a big RV so they could drive across the country have a home in Palm Springs, so they left on Saturday. And they were pretty interested in how to drive where to go. And where to stay. And all of that sort of thing is a real network, though, and it's been. I think one of the bright spots, but people in that business during all of this is that people have been getting to drone airplane. They're getting into an RV. It's been a People buying armaments reading crazy. Yeah, Yeah. Speaking of traveling. We touched on this last week that Boeing was going to pay $2.5.
