Is there a millennial because They don't really have it down very well. I'm going to qualification. That's in today's world. That seems to be a thought. Let me give you a rundown. Okay, uh, number 20, the preacher from Pale Rider. That's Clint Eastwood. Okay. 19 Django 18, the Sundance Kid from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Good. 17. Will Cain. That's Gary Cooper from High noon. Uh, 16 Private Jackson and from saving Private Ryan. Yeah, again for this is gunfighters. He was He had a gun, and he did fight did not end. Well, by the way, 15 will sonnet. Now this is a TV show starring. You know Pat Walter? Walter Brennan? Yeah. You know the guns of will, Simon, That was on for about a half a season? Yeah, at best. Okay. 14 Lash LaRue again. Lash LaRue, The man who never really Made it in Hollywood because he looked too much like Humphrey Bogart. And that's a fact and he was known for what a boy or nothing like. I'd like to point out that the the Great Bull Whip fighter Indiana Jones used the gun so he should be in this discussion apparently is gone. Number 13 and number 12 Roger Murtaugh and Martin Riggs. These are the two guys from the weapon. Lethal weapon. Yeah. Number 11 Raylan Givens from justified justified. Okay, number 10, the lady. From the quick and the dead. And no, No, no, no, no, no, no, no, We don't know We're going with the Norwegian guy with the LEM at revolver. That's our favorite. I mean, that movie should be banned. It's just because it's so bad. Okay, Number nine and number eight. I mean, I mean, banned everywhere. No TV. No, that movie just I mean, on a scale of 1 to 100 instincts. That's 480. Okay. No, you trailers. No, no, no. No. And no number nine and number. Eight are Wyatt Urban Doc Holliday. He doesn't It doesn't specify. Just close the names out there. Yeah, Yeah, It's Kirk Douglas. And you, O'Brien. El Mariachi. This is, uh, Desperado. The Antonio Banderas remake of the Mexican film. Yeah. Which you know He had a machine gun shooting guitar case that had wheels and explosives and come on, give you pass on that one and following right behind the lady. No, forget about it. Number five will money for a month for given. This is, of course, another Clint Eastwood and Yeah, Okay, I'll go with Ellen. Number four harmonica from once upon a time in the West. Charles Bronson. Okay, Number three. Marshal Dillon can't disagree with him because somebody died before that before you got through the credit. Every single time number two. The Ringo kid, Uh, that was the Duke, the duke and stage coach again. Not not a ton of gun fighting A number one. The man with no name again. Clint Eastwood. Now I came up with my top 10, which was I don't even know if they're 10. But Starsky and Hutch because they shoot 23 people an episode Dirty Harry, because He has the most powerful handgun in the world. And, like half a dozen of all the best quotes in the world, exactly? Yeah, the entire wild bunch Because those guys are gunfighters. Those guys shoot 2 to 300 people A guy seen. Yeah. Okay, uh, followed by Kevin Costner and open range because he was the gun hand. Okay. Uh, Next would be Tom Donovan. This is John Wayne. He was the man that shot Liberty Valance, not Jimmy store. Oh, okay. Next would be James Bond, because he is double Oh, seven and has a license to kill and let's face it. He sold a million Walter PPK absolutely all on his own. And probably more like five million. Next would be Paladin. Helen is pretty bad, You know, Single action Army. He's a tough dude. Okay, followed by the original shootist. J B books, the shooters. Okay, number two on my list is the all time serial killer of all time. Oh, yeah. Lucas McCain, Lucas McCain as the rifle rifle who shoots without remorse whatsoever to three people and have every episode is And of course, number one, the guy that you just can't turn your back on and that's going to be John Wick. Yeah, Okay, That's what I was waiting for. I was waiting for to. Honestly, all these lists are bumped. As far as I'm concerned, there's no quick drama gone any of them so quick. Hey, Rabbit ears. Elka bang. I mean, come on. I was going to say there's a difference between shooting people to him over the head with a guitar. Come on. You have done both higher call correctly..

Steve McQueen Tom Donovan Martin Riggs Kevin Costner Josh Randall Gary Cooper Charles Bronson Walter Brennan Clint Eastwood John Wayne Kirk Douglas Humphrey Bogart Pat Walter Robert Ducky Will Cain O'Brien Ellen Lucas McCain Roger Murtaugh five million

Rachel, if you're if you're don't know who's taking our phone calls, But Rachel It is you were going to have Rick on in the second segment from the CRP A. So if you could get him started on on the phone? Uh, well, I think I think we have Richard already. I had to call Richard from white women White men yesterday to remind him. Oh, it's like Richard don't have handed us It's just not. It's not that we have not begun to. We've had a bad pun. No, no, no, there is that. And then, if you guys want to call in, If you have any firearms questions whatsoever, be it paperwork or you know anything in particular about any particular firearm. Feel free to call us at 1, 802 225222 or That's 1. 800. What? 81 808 105 2 k. ABC. That's right, miss the first particle. You had your moment. Okay in the parking lot Practice comeback? Yeah, for a couple of weeks. So what We're going to talk about today and I just get you know, we always get a big a big kick out of talking about movie guns. Well, they get so much right. Jimmy found this list. And she? Yeah, in order to make a top Anything kind of list. You have to be a certain age. Okay? This is such bs that they get some 25 year old guy to make the top the top 20 best gunfighters and TV and movie history going all the way back to 2000 and 14. Some of these. Some of these are a comical some. I'm going to read this up. I'm going to read the top. 20 real quick. Okay, number 20 Clint Eastwood in Pale writer as the preacher. That's pretty good. That's not bad number 19 Django never saw. It won't see it don't care to jingles, right? There's an original and and and everything. So I think the original Django was a spaghetti Western call. Yeah, yeah, it must have been like, so who knows? Which one? They're talking 66. You had me actually have it here. There's that Franco Nero number number 18 the Sundance Kid, obviously, from Butch Cassidy and Sundance Skip Robert Redford. You know, I remember the fight more than the guns, but okay, go on. Okay, number 17. Will Cain Now That's Gary Cooper in high noon. Okay, number 16 Private Jackson. I'm going to go with. It's got to be Barry Pepper from Saving Private Ryan. You know who said not a gunfighter? He's a sniper. Okay, number 15 will sign it. Okay. Now will sign it. I've got to tell you that would cut a pretty good groove in my high. Do you remember the show? Yeah. How the show started. The guy walks into the bar and bumps the guy and he says Oh, no, We're gonna fight or something like that. The guy says no, That would be a mistake. Remember that one? Yeah. Okay, number 14 Lash LaRue. Okay, I'm not old enough for lash LaRue. And I'm 194. He threw in a hopper and pull the name because Lash LaRue's big thing was a bull whip. Right? Okay. Okay. Number 13 and number 12 are Roger Murtaugh and Martin Riggs. Leave the weapon. Wait, Lethal weapon. Yeah, no firmer, tighter, Murtaugh, you know, just know down a helicopter with a Beretta. Yeah, Yeah. No. And it makes the face and all that. Yeah, no, Just no. Okay, number 11. Raylan Givens from justified. Never saw justified is pretty cool. Eddie Slings in 1911 to the elephant Never saw number 10, The lady from the quick and the dead. Oh, no, no, I like that are well, Hell, no, no way not happening. Forget about so many better characters from No, no, no, no. No. And no. How about H handle and scourge of the sage brush? Yeah, Okay, Number nine and number eight. He's got Wyatt ERP and Doc Holliday. But he doesn't say which which iterated? Well, he does portrayed by Kurt Russell and portrayed by Val Kilmer. So the two from Tombstone. Well, if he does that, that's That's pretty cool because some of the older ones number seven number seven. Josh Randall, you know Steve McQueen, King of Cool. I get all that he's a bounty hunter. Or he rarely pulls that ridiculous gun ended. And we do need to go back and visit the fact that is a ridiculous gun. It's definitely okay. Number six El Mariachi from Desperado Antonio Man there is and the one before that. Come on. You've got a guitar case. That's a machine gun. Come on, Jeff. Tell me you're not in. No, wait. It's a guitar case with the machine gun and wheels. Tell me you're not in I like the wheels number five, but will money. This is Clint Eastwood again from Unforgiven. Uh, I I could go with that. Okay. Number four harmonica from once upon a time in the West Bronson Charles Bronson, number three, Marshal Dillon. Now he does shoot somebody The very beginning of the show. Yeah, the same guy. But he was on for like 19 seasons. RNs was the only character in the whole entire show that was on every episode. Well, good on it. Yeah, Number two. The Ringo kid again. I'm gonna John Wayne's stagecoach. Okay, well, yeah. Okay. I was going to say Is this from two sons Well enough for a stage coach. You know, John Wayne should be. They're probably not that character and the last one Clint Eastwood again. And the man with no name, which is all the spaghetti all the dollars. Yeah. Now I made a top 10. I told you to And you know, we're coming up on a hard break and Hey, I just want to say that we were back. If somebody could get Rick on the phone, That would be awesome. And you're ready Man K K Monday weekend It's an answer about that. There you go. It's a blind never go down. If.

Steve McQueen Josh Randall Roger Murtaugh Kurt Russell Martin Riggs Gary Cooper Doc Holliday Rachel Val Kilmer Charles Bronson Jeff Eddie Slings Rick Clint Eastwood 1, 802 225222 Larry Elder Jimmy Barry Pepper John Wayne Marshal Dillon

Are You you really? I mean to talk about it every single day now and I'm saying I I just have gotten I watched the first three episodes of six episode, but that was I'm just I'm just tired of it mentally. You know what I enjoy. The best part for me is is actually watching Michael Show emotion. They showed him act actually like in tears. After after winning the one of the titles when he came back for baseball, that first one, and then they showed a Gary Payton, talking some trash and they showed. Showed it to Michael. You've seen in a couple of episodes where they show him on the IPAD what Gary. was saying and he just kind of laughed at him. He's like yeah, become a man I imagine that I know I know it's just you know for me again. I grew up. You know like you said a forty eight so I grew up out for you and Mike and all that so. "It. I it is a startup was one of those things it's just very organic. Like he talked about how we got the name so kellyn, censored, which was basically Knicks idea of like go with this go with this. And, and I and I was there for all the conversations because we would ride together of trying to talk them out of it. Nope. Nope. You need to be so council if you need to be censored, and then even moving onto, like us, you know, talking trash about towns, and Matt saying, I wanna put you guys on being the elite, and I just want you to do what you do turn the camera on. Okay. Then now we're now we're bearing the towns and, and you know, this is the worst town I've ever been. When we first started doing that I said, I'm just going to say the exact same thing every time and then you guys get creative in and be specific about it, and it didn't take long for the fans. The catch on even the whole it was one of those things we would just all do ourselves backstage. And the next thing you know, like Jay lethal doing it. And are, you know Jeff cobber whoever backstage is also doing it? So we started doing that on the show as well. And now that is like our calling card every where we go the fans. Ooh, the new we like to say. When you yes, the over with the boys in the locker room, you know, it's going to be easy as with the fan. Yeah. Hold WWE locker room during the pulse down. Yeah. Yeah. And how many variations of that, can you do? I can't put that on a t shirt, of course, but you can with you. Right. And you mentioned this is the worst town, I've ever been in like it's just like a stupid idiot starts getting heat and then it doesn't take long before. It's the biggest baby face phrase that you got. It's really cool. The fact that we love the fact that we can go to any town, we're in, and scorpion hit that line, and Cheboygan and the place will pop. It's like it's like all like hometown fried goes out the window for for our segment. We want to be the word exactly exactly literally did one loop and ring of honor, where we would cut he'll promos. And and score did the worst town. I hit a couple lines and Frankie ended with some sort of big thumbs down. And this was in Texas. Remember and by the time we did the next loop, they started finishing the line before score could do it, almost, you know, road doc style when you start it and then they would finish it and I went, we can't we're not. Going to heels anymore boys. This is something here. I think my favorite was in Chicago before all in the press the press Conway and the way we did a thing where we came out, and we had this written statement and passing it back and forth, because none of us wanted to say it. And then Finally, I said, you know, I open the statement, I'd say on behalf of so Callen censored, I just want to say that we are very happy to be in Chicago and shit all over. That crumpled up throw. It say what I really mean is this isn't going to the line, and then big reaction? It was just one of those things where it's just you have some fun with it. And it's not rocket science, right? No, Jimmy Hart told me years ago. It's such great advice as day, he said, Darwin, you can't make people make signs and you can't make people chant chanted it. And when you got someone holding up a sign that says, we're ever or there's finishing your sentence. You did it. Yeah. That's the secret of wrestling right there. Right. Connecting with the audience in that way, which sometimes actually all the time is more important than the nicest moon salt. You could do the greatest, you know space tiger flying drop. That line better wrestler, actually, because it's kind of a joke, you know, but like the PWI five hundred. Years prior, I was like four ninety nine and a half. It's like that. And then this line comes out, and all of a sudden, I'm like, two hundred and music theory. Like I became a better wrestler because of that lie. Hardly enough. I'm always like three wrestlers. Chris Daniels for the last like six members. Cursive. Come on. The law has to be within like five or seven wondered how in the hell did. They come up with five hundred rescuers. I think the I two hundred maybe they put some time in from then on Alfred, oh, the danger. Boy. There was a couple of cats. These saying Providence, Rhode Island has Dima Lenka this used to see him one. One of them was called Alfredo, the danger and he looked exactly what you would expect danger. Look like your least dangerous guy, but he actually had one of those old school like high school, Letterman jackets, that had made with his name affair danger boy, and it's like number four, sixty eight and. Any had them down his arm number four sixty seven number four. Can't even he was down. And as I guess, for some people for legitimacy of being arrested or I guess, there you go, right? I've bought into it when I was a kid and the first one came out, I remember, the first one, then hulk HOGAN was number one, this probably early nineties late eighties, something like that. But I mean I I better I took it. I was like, damn right. Whole wrestler in the world. Did you do that? Like when when the when the ratings came out back in the day, but we even when I first started wrestling, they still had straight. We would go and see, like where am I at? And if you're like, number six in WWE let's bullshit, you know, how is, is lash Larue number four number five, I bought into everything in those magazines until one time I was reading this is when I was training, a call skis, and I was reading one and they had like the section. It was the wrestler inside wrestling, one of those two magazines, and they had a section where it would talk about an upcoming star, and they would ask, like six legends their opinion and quality was always featured in that. And so I'm I went into wrestling training. You know, I was like Walter, ROY. I read a I read what you said about Ken shamrock, whoever was at the time, you know, and I really think that he's the, you know, his ground game was going to help them. And then you just kind of looked at me and goes who's bullshit? My name, but I never see knew that. His name and put his picture up there. But now, he's just like, and I was just getting into the business. I was like, oh, you mean it's not real. It's you. What else what are their lives? I got sued by Larry's of Bisco sued for using the living legend. And And to to I I had had to to go go to. to. A deposition literally deposition have the bunch of lawyers and the some of the evidence that was submitted was Larry submitted pro wrestling illustrated magazines, that said he was the living legend. Right. And I'm like this is a this is the actual parochial. This is all not real guy writing and all that has to be the only time in recorded history after mad. So good. But you Philadelphia one time and after was there and flair and Brett were there. And they're all sat down and eating and go little bit uncomfortable. Because flare was, like, remember that I remember the time when you put bread higher than me ninety two and bread. So, yeah, well that was bullshit. When you were there ninety one and there's a little bit like after is kind of in the middle, as they were kind of angry after for rating, one above the other boys bought into it, right? Good. So let's us ask about this. But how you guys are one of the first signees for all the wrestling, it was announced that the bucks and signed, and Cody had signed, and then right after that was that s you had signed. And is this just well, obviously, it just another one of these amazing moments of happenstance where all your guys is contract just happened to be up at the same time as everybody else's. Yeah. Actually, when we when I signed my contract when we went to ring of honor in two thousand fourteen Franken I were the tag team at the time. And so when I'm pack during, yes, yeah. So when, when the idea of a contract was discussed they came to us at the same time, and I remember I had signed a one year deal, and then I signed to your deal in that two year deal and this December and so. For us obviously that was that was happenstance. And then while when Scorpio came in there were talking about putting a contract, but they never really went past a certain point. They were just like, oh, well, we're still using him and, and. Just just because the the infrastructure of ring of honor is so there's so many jobs, but they're so few actual people in the office. So, like, sometimes I feel like that stuff sort of win under your sort of got through the cracks and in that in that respect, it ended up benefiting Scorpio, because if they had you know a year prior they had offered him. Ray on-track. He might have signed it, and he might not have been available. But as pro wrestling offices, go. You know, there was just so many so many jobs to do not enough people that were covering all that stuff. I feel like that part sorta just, you know, if we had actually started talking about a, a contract, we just never got to the point of putting ink to paper. Right. And so, you know, thank goodness, it didn't because I actually would have been tied up right now and I wouldn't be able to be here doing this leanna kidding. Right. Especially talk as Jericho. Let's talk about when you guys first started hearing about all elite wrestling. But before we do let me tell you something your ears and you're hearing are going to love, and that's the new wireless ear buzz from Ray Khan. Now you've heard me talk about these ear buds before I love them because they're so comfortable where they fit right in my ear. I like the in your monitors. I wear Fayza gigs, and because the Ray cons are so comfortable I almost forget, I'm wearing them the battery lasts forever as well. I can wear them on cross country flights on a single charge. That's a solid five hours of uses or so just world from San Francisco to Tampa today. I listen to talk as Jericho episodes as well. I use my recons to watch good company with bowling episode featuring striper love that one where my recons when I bike around Tampa when I'm cleaning, my house so many things when I'm listening to anything including music and wearing my Ray cons. And here's the part, you guys are gonna love rake on ear buds start edible half the price of any other premium wireless ear buds in the market, and they sounded just as amazing half the price and sound just as good come on..

"lash larue" Discussed on 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff

"One of these flaw lies right now fifty percents off when you use the promo code eighty three weeks. Dave meltzer's. He's a raid of those things. Oh, gosh. I was just talking about pesky insects. Dave Meltzer won't get near one of these things. Too much. White Keller would report sources close to whole Cogan say the reason he isn't making a play for the booking position is because he realizes that the other wrestlers don't like him or Bischoff HOGAN has gotten sick of constant criticism that goes along with the job and has decided to let Nash deal with the heat for a while. But of course Hogan's gonna continue to look out for his own material. This is Wade Keller saying not Dave Meltzer. Is this the next verse same as the first or is it? Okay. Because Wade says it no it's wrong. I mean it's first of all. Anybody that really knows hulk HOGAN, clearly Wade Keller didn't talk to hulk HOGAN about this. He's making shit up at the time just for the same reasons. Dave Meltzer did to make himself sound to his readers, that he has inside information or insight and knowledge into something that he knows absolutely nothing about here's the truth, and anybody that has ever worked with HOGAN. We'll tell you this free, so yes, I've only hung out with them a handful of times, but I think I can guess what you're about to say. Go ahead. Take a wack hulk HOGAN has no interest in booking Schiff for everybody else. Yes. No. Yes, no interest in doing anything that requires more of his time than showing up doing what he loves to do, which is working to rang. He had are you kidding me? Hey hawk. I'm gonna give you the here's the book, you know, we're gonna we're gonna make you the head writer head book or whatever you wanna call it come on into Atlanta. You know, we're gonna do TV Monday. And then we're gonna fly right back to Atlanta and then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we're going to work on booking, and then you get to go home Friday, and then I'll see you Monday. Again. We're going to start this process all over anybody that has worked with hulk HOGAN over the last thirty years would fucking laugh at that as I'm laughing inside about those comments at Wade Keller made. I like Wade Keller. I respect Wade Keller not we're all different people, we've all grown will the exception of Dave Meltzer. We've all grown. We've all become smarter wiser more sophisticated in somewhat professional approach to things when Keller's, no. Different. I read Wade killer. Now, I have a lot of respect for what I read in, in, in tellers articles in an online that being said during this time he was clearly just pulling this out of his ass to make himself sound like he knew something he didn't. Righty. Keep it moving here way also gonna report, some lower car, w w wrestlers, who also work indie shows or making sixty grand a year for being on call for WCW without being used much lash Larue who works, mostly TV tapings and a lot of house shows is reportedly, only making thirty five thousand dollars a year. What you see a report like that make a newsletter whether it's the torch or the observer, and they're quoting contract amounts, does this annoy you with the front office, or do you soom? This is the boys back channeling stuff trying to negotiate some sort of raise or does it just water off a duck's back for you. It's kind of all the above it, it's very frustrating on the one hand that, that kind of personal information leaked out into the public for whatever reason, you know, you've referred me in the past to court documents that were leaked to the public. Well, that's kind of unavoidable. That's one of the reasons why people like to try to avoid depositions and discovery because things that you would prefer, stay private. Whether it's proprietary information or in his case control contractual information that affects many others you'd like to kind of keep that stuff is quiet as you can so that people can't use it against you at some point, or misinterpreted or whatever so yeah, it's obviously very frustrating when that gets out there in terms of the motivation. You know you can only speculate you know who leaked it. Why if it wasn't as a result of a court action who leaked it why they leaked it who they lead to, to what their motivation was. That's just all guess. Work. I try is, is much as it irritated the hell outta me. I tried not to think about it any more than I had to because you could get wound up and, and drive, yourself crazy with it. And once you kinda recognize that then you, you're almost forced to let it roll off your back. There's only certain things you can do to inspire. Force. Encourage ethical professional behavior. Certain people are not going to be ethical, people certain people aren't going to be professionals, especially those people who don't feel like they're getting their shot now not suggesting latte lash, Larue, did or didn't feel like he was getting his shot. But, you know, you've got a guy that's making thirty five forty five grand a year, or he sees people around him. You know, making six figures, I'm pretty sure after a while, he's going to do whatever he can do to change his state and leaking information. You know, if he's got an agenda is part of that, then, you know, it happens, but there's only so much you can do about it. So there's only so much you should try to worry about it, or I should, I should say, what are the other things that makes the observer is something I'd never heard before WWE's is planning on doing its own kick. Boxing per headlined by Dennis Alexio versus Rick Rufus on the way the last kickboxing show on may fourteenth with Don the dragon Wilson as the. Victor, all roughly six thousand boss nationwide, or a point zero one six buyer eight. I don't think we ever saw a WCW kickboxing show. Was it discuss to the best ereck election? There was a period of time when news gentleman by the named Joe corley, who is still in Atlanta and is still a friend of mine. Joe quarterly. I had known Joan Joe corley going back to the late. Seventies Joe corley was the promoter for a massive martial arts tournament credit tournament called the battle of Atlanta, and for many, many years, it was like the Super Bowl of chronic tournaments from around the world. If, if you were a black belt division, champion at the battle of Atlanta, you, you, you had a lot of credit and besides that it was a fun tournament. I mean it was one of the most fun tournaments that I would go to every year. Probably one of the reasons I was motivated to stay martial arts as long as I was. The action was fantastic. And I'm not talking about the entering. We got you bless you. I was younger than it was before. I met my wife all that good stuff. But I became friends with Joe Joe is very successful. He promoted the prof he went on to promote the professional crazy association or peak AA, which went on to promote flights on CBS on ABC. I went to a couple of those I didn't fight on those fights. I was there as a as a guest, but joke only had a lot of success. I ended up fighting for Joe corley on ESPN a couple times. So I had a great relationship with Joe, Joe is a very big advocate for martial arts and because of my proximity to Turner, he and I discussed because we both believed and I still do that there's room for martial arts, as a television property, now that good to associate, you know, my plans back then, with what you have C one onto become because there were two different presentations, of martial arts if you will. But. But yeah, we were talking about it. We, we worked on it. I developed a presentation, I pitched to Harvey Schiller at Turner sports. It was met with. Slightly better than lukewarm interest, you know, nobody was doing cartwheels and backflips because nobody had ever heard of it before on a large scale, or very few people had a side of ABC and CBS. So, yes, there, there is some truth to that we were working on that. But there was never a plan to do it. There was only a presentation. Ultimately who, who made the call to shut it down? I just couldn't generate enough interest in commitment on my end at Turner to, to ramp it up. So. Let's talk about something that did happen that we did see, of course, Dennis Rodman, and masterpiece by are two names that w w with Salama's with there for a little while. For better or worse, and wait killer would report, former NBA rebounder, Dennis Rodman, and rapper master p have both signed one year deals with WWW recurring, entering performers Rodman's deal calls for him to work five days. Total four nitro and one pay per view is scheduled day is the July fifth nitro Rodman Sonning gave WCW considerable mainstream press on both Monday and Tuesday and famous rapper masterpiece. He has been signed by WCW. He is a NFL rookie running back Ricky Williams sports agent. And he played in a CPA and trot out with the Charlotte Hornets, but failed to make the team is relationship with me is in part, a result of his bodyguard swale wanting to become a pro wrestler. Cler. I do feel like I need to give a little bit of frame of reference for masterpiece. Because I know that we've got some younger fans or some or maybe some older fans some casual wrestling fans who maybe were familiar with masterpiece and just thought his involvement was a bit of Joe. I'm going to defend you a little bit here. He released an album back in ninety seven the called ghetto d and the first week sales of that album were the highest of, of any that he did. He sold seven hundred sixty one thousand copies that first week it will go on to be triple platinum the next year he real he released another hit. It's going to sell more than four hundred thousand copies in its first week, and then so four million copies and because of the way he structured, his deal, it was much different than the way, a lot of other musical acts had their deal structured so by ninety eight he becomes ranked number ten on four magazines. List of highest paid entertainers. They list the forty highest paid entertainers and in ninety eight. He's already number ten, and this is just, you know after breaking through in ninety seven with his first album. So he, he made fifty six and a half million bucks in ninety eight in two thousand nine here and more than six hundred sixty one million dollars. So just to give everybody a frame of reference, although masterpiece is very much a funny ha-ha wrestling joke. The association is not a joke because he is a big time player. So Chad us up here. You guys announced with a June fourteenth press conference. Here he is. He's part of WCW. The rumor innuendo was very lucrative deal for him. We'll talk about the, the misses and hits. How did it come to be originally? Is it through soul? Wanting to come to the power plant or someone make a call on his behalf. How in the world, did you get into business with masterpiece well, and just answer that just a minute, but just say add to that, you know, the ghetto Diablo had a song, I'll make them say, which won an MTV award for best rap or a nomination for best rap. And the he lost a Will Smith. So you know he was in pretty good company. And I think his presence on MTV was another reason why in ninety seven we were pretty inch his presence in ninety seven which was one of the reasons why by nineteen ninety nine we're, we're pretty interested in him. And he went on if you go onto two thousand shortly after this particular event, he had an album called goodfellas, which is like the number one aren't being hip hop album on the charts at that time, so he definitely had that mainstream credibility, and much like we were talking about with NBC and the funny, he ha-, you know, risks and rewards that went along with Jay Leno masterpiece had a very, very large and important audience much younger audience than WCW hat. That was a silo that was a group that was a demographic, that may or may not. Would have may or may not paid attention to WCW without integrating, somebody like masterpiece into a storyline. So there was a lot of good reasons to do it. I take exception to the fact that it, you know wrestling fans. Consider this a he, he ha ha kind of a joke move. We'll talk about that funny. He hostile when we look at this pay per view, and break it down. But I think the way we use masterpiece and swollen you know, the no limit soldiers who were part of his his group, even in this batch on this paper viewer about to break down. I thought it was phenomenal. It was believable. There was nothing funny, and he he and haha about it, it was just about as intense as anything else I've ever seen in terms of the way it was presented in its believability. I, I disagree with that, as far as how it came down. You know, it didn't come directly through me or to me, I should say, obviously I I got involved in it, but. But my recall of this was,.

I'll let you know that it's all going to say they're all actually can say, but just keep that in mind. Let's get into some actually anything else for you for we start off here. Anything I went to. I ay. This weekend. Which was mistake the one by the airport. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How far is it from Hoboken point, five minute Uber. Yeah. So I went into Kia to just buy some desk organizers. Most people go to Kia to by gigantic things. I get to the checkout. They have like seventy five lanes that I ki- in only six of them were open and they can do that because by the time people get to the end or so exhausted mentally broken and they're their their big stuff that they, they have no other choice to wait in line. They've already invested all that time in it, but I didn't. I just put my things down and I walked out on my way. I said, I'm going to get a hot dog at I ki- so I got the line the little cafe and that damn line was too long as well. So I walked out onto lines that I keep it dam-. I'm never going back until I need something super cheap that I don't want to invest in. Then I'll go back what furniture store would even go to. Alternatively, I think.

"Regular level on a good level yeah it's interesting says it's going to ask you you know you kind of became notorious for for hyping things and this is going to be the most explosive night in the history of our sport in the history of our sport in the history of our sport and i was gonna ask you if at any point people at w we're going tony it can't be the greatest thing in the history of our sport every night but you're telling me that they wanted more of that is they did yes they did they wanted more of that and the reason that they wanted more that was they really sam with exception of sometimes really didn't listen to me right they would listen to me in spurts and unless you set down it's fan would set down and watch the entire show you're not so sure what i said so they would just wanted more and i got i really got angry sometimes especially terry taylor and you know we give terry a lot of grief on our podcast because terry always have heat in the backstage area and he was just the kind of guy likable guy but just the kind of guy who didn't know how to shut up and terry would all terry would would put the head son on the back and he would tell me to say something and then he would walk away and he would talk he would talk to a wrestler about what's going on and then he put the headset back on listen to me and then he'd pushes button and he'd say i don't know say that the nature boy ric flair is really pushing it tonight and i'm thinking i just said that line terry i just sit that line tarried i got to a lot of discussions the back saint terri i'll say whatever you want me to say but listen to what i've just said and that happened a lot so they wanted to push more and more and more i really think that and i'm sure it happens now with no vince produces his announcers now oh they got i missed that one but anyway i i'm here now that that when you're at the the guerilla position or we call it the jodi position back then there's so much going on that that as a producer you can't always turn your tension to the announcers but if you want the announcers i always thought you gotta have announcer producer to do that and at least somebody i mean the the idea because this is the vision that's in my head is your painting this picture is a monitor with a headset next to it that nobody's using and every now and then somebody walks up to the headset puts it on and goes hey say this would idea about what you've been saying exactly at it happened a lot oh my god a lot it happened a lot and and then it it got me upset and i probably handled it the wrong way at many times to where the i just said you know the heck with it i'm just going to oversell this thing they are not satisfied with what i'm saying and i'm just gonna oversell it so therefore a match lash larue became the greatest night his sport so it became less about like let me get the show over and more about fine you guys want over the top over the top to what you want here you go well this is what you asked for exactly listen i don't want to get everybody get the impression that i'm blaming somebody else for what i did right because that's that's not the case it was me that said it was me that came up with all that stuff but i'm just telling people would add to the frustration with added to me being this over the top height machine and kind of what your mindset why not not not the not the whose fault was it but why did you do that we'll here's why you're talking about you know avoiding vince mcmahon producing you what would you have preferred as an announcer though you know vince mcmahon as many horror stories as people have about him producing them through their commentary he is at least you know from what we can all tell watching every show in as much detail as any person can possibly watch it he's the one who's producing every single week and it's his vision it's his company it's not like you know this week he got terry taylor this week he got ed ferrara like there is something to be said if you're going to have somebody screaming at you to say insane things at least have it be the same guy every week.
