"It's just it's a no brainer. The most dangerous offense in the league by far gay men in I just think. We have no reason to think that it's going to change this year. But I also wonder about some other teams, Mylanta Falcons were ranked eleventh just outside the top team. So we were just about cracking it, but you know it happens. They, actually have People the giants at twelve. So I mean, they have some guys. You have talent. If you're wondering WHO's last on this list is the Jacksonville Jaguars. They're at thirty two on this list Maybe surprised to be maybe not maybe Washington, so maybe worse. But now Washington has some good guys out there that can catch I mean, yeah, I. Guess You could say that obviously new, England's twenty nine. If you're wonder about New England obviously know about their core. It's funny. We were talking about Las Vegas having on a talent, they actually twenty eight on this list. So it looks like they're not saying seeing it. S. They don't have that definitive number one receiver. So I guess maybe that's why that's the case. And ETC ETC so. Yeah. So I mean I sounds like we both pretty. For the most part, the list was pretty. On it accurate. Meka say maybe. had. Some corrections that could have made personally in my opinion but. That sounds like more. Than theirs. It is what it is list. Unikrn CEO Rahul Sood on Esports Betting, Cryptocurrency
"I have to imagine most of our audience has heard you to court at this point whether it was through the Mark Cuban investment ties to crypto currency, the websites, great content or the eastwards betting explosion. It can be hard to keep up with you to court at times you're doing so many different things. The company said Classic Eastwards. Headache has traditional sports. Offerings has ways for people to wager against their Fred has ways for Gabor's to bet on themselves by you. Mode at creates simulated competitions for potential wagers I know I missing some things even that log list what I miss about you accord that else that the companies also offer. well, I mean, look at you pretty much summarized that we are. We were at a sports entertainment platform. Basically, what we're building is the future of entertainment wagering like When you think about wagering in general, there's is various areas is. There, there's like casino bedding. There's. There's. Your typical physical location, you walk into a casino and you go to a slot machine and you do something they're on. So Las Vegas Type Entertainment, all of that is changing. and then there's like sports betting what does the future sports betting look like an online book making look like? An and Unicorn is effectively using east sports in video games to create this this new era of betting because people who play video games and who are into. East. Sports are not just you know they're not kids. They're they're getting older and you know people like myself who who's in. My mid forties. I love to play Games and I I love to bet on sports and so we're sort of building the future of this face definitely people betting on video. Fares log as video games have existed I. Certainly have bet ever since I had some money in my pocket, I was putting it down challenging by Fred's various video games being Iraq cade or back the Gabe Q. OF NFL street. If feels like a pretty natural expansion of what video games are, can you talk a little bit about? The ways that you give gamers a chance to better themselves so unique. Eastwards. Betty massive thing. I'm here base of us. Vegas. We've got monuments to the value of bedding. But. What does that intrinsic nature of betting that is provided by you modes of UNICORD's thanks. How is the company capitalizing on that? Shirt. So look you know when when you think about the different types of betting, there's there's essentially three different types one of the spectator wagering, which is like ords betting where you're betting against someone or not against your betting on a match on an event that's happening that you're watching. So for example, you're watching club nine versus whatever fanatic or whoever it is you. Can you can watch match and you can place a bet on it just like you can watch traditional sport, the seahawks versus the raiders place that on that that's spectator wagering and we do that we do that really well Then there's the skill bedding staff where where you can now bet on yourself in a video game on a game that you love to play. And no one's been able to solve this away Unicorn has The way it works is let's say you play a game fortnight or League of legends or Doda you can connect your favorite video game to the Unicorn Platform and we give you odds on yourself So you're basically instead of you betting against me met you're betting against yourself. Are you betting against the house really and you're betting on yourself and and we give you odds for you to be one of one hundred for example, in Fort Night and you can go and you can bet any can play that and that's considered a skill Within those two categories, we have different types of offerings that are very unique to Unicorn. So for example, on the spectator side, we have streamer betting where you can watch streamers and you can place bets on your favorites beamers. It's very cool. We also have virtual east sports where you can watch virtual matches twenty, four, seven of East sports and bet on those. and. Then on the skill side, we have you mode as you mentioned where you can connect your favorite video game the platform bet on. Yourself. Against the House but we also have money match where, for example, you can create a a game of NBA two K. or madden or something and then challenge someone on the Internet and and then just just bat and play. It's very cool. And then, and then the third type of betting is is casino betting, which is your traditional Casino Games. So you up those three. Unicorn has the most most breadth. of N depth of anybody in the space, we've really spent the last six years building building this out, doing it in a legitimate way doing it with full regulation mind I just thinking about where the future of of betting entertainment goes I. Think we built some some big value in the brand on and the company in the platform and is this next year is going to determine where that goes. Absolutely I want to talk about regulation a bit in the future as you

"With our picks but also because we're talking about Las Vegas raiders the newly. Located, Las Vegas Raiders. Their quarterback has a lot to prove. He is up for the challenge Bryce. What has. Are Good Man. David car come and talk about. I mean, basically, he just came out and he said he's tired of everybody thinking that he's not that good that people are saying that he he's not all that and he thinks he's underrated as a player. I mean, we forget. About three years ago, believe Oakland was number one, see number two seed in the AFC. And he got hurt in the year and he was on candidates the MVP. And I think people forget about that season. He had never since then he's never played to that. He'd been in been at that same level. 'cause Oakland also never our. Las Vegas now has never had that same level of success. And so people are wondering he could. Obviously we know. The Everson's GRUDEN's been there. said that he hasn't necessarily been one hundred percent sold on their car, which is why there's always been rumblings that if there's a quarterback, he could maybe get that was better. He would. She would pull the trigger. and. Obviously, you know a sign Marcus Mariota this off season. To create competition but also. People, look at it as their cars short lease, and so if he messes up, they're not gonNA hesitate to switch. So it'll be interesting to kind of see what happens with that I think. I think generally look at this rate at your team. They're not a bad team. They have Josh, jacobs the runner up rookie year offensively. So they they have one of the best offensive lines in all of football people forget that Oakland has one of the best offensive line football. And they have up and coming receiving core, and they just drafted Henry Roques. So. To me, offensively, Oakland's a team that I think people. We don't talk about as one of the top offenses in the game. But I, think they have the potential to be with talent that they have. But obviously, we know was going to all depend on Derek Carr in how he plays this season because if he can be back to MVP. Derek, Carr and then Las Vegas. Make some noise and then they're able to maybe playoff run. Obviously, I, think that will solidify him and I think you know Jon Gruden. Whoever else is doubting? Him has to just accept that listen even if he's not ever GONNA be. Patrick mahomes maybe even the more. Jackson. Level Guy. He is still a guy who can win you games and compete and go told us over those guys in back down. I think that's important. You know in the think about it like the way their team is constructed. It's not even built to be all on the quarterback because like they said, they have a very good supporting cast around. They could be one of the best rushing attacks in the league. And all Derek Carr has to do is just make sure you know on play action and everything he's able to make plays. They have you know I, think Darren Waller, was named the tight end that they have. I mean nobody knew he was before last year, and then he became a hit and fantasy and then second merged as one of the better times the Lee. and. Like I said, you know they have a lot of talent on offense and are really Rahm. Last year overall was defense. Their secondary was was was not that good. Their secondary was kind of. So, you know if they fixed defensively, you know and I said of Derek, Harper was well, I think that he'll be able to get people to. Not. See Him the way they've seen him because he like, say it happens all the time. You, Know Matt Ryan, how his MVP year before that people are thinking was washed. He was done. He's he's overrated and know people still to this day. Have are not sold on. Matt Ryan, but we establish himself. I mean you can win games with him. You can make the playoffs with him. You can. If you have the right team right system rhyme, you make the super bowl with him. and honestly, that's what you need. You know I think said people were just they WANNA get the Knicks Patrick Mahomes and the next Jackson. So badly that if you ain't playing that good lead, then people are GonNa think you're that good. It's just like I. Don't think you can do that. So I, think. is going to be crucial for him. Clearly, if he if he doesn't play a will mark Marietta comes in there and he plays well, then obviously, that could spell the end of their car in Las Vegas but. If he's able to consistently play well, and they're able to win games and. Everything I think he? He'll. He'll be good to go move forward in my opinion I think so I mean. How are you feeling about Derek? Carr. Coming into the season in just how you view him as a quarterback overall. Coming into the season, you never know what somebody is able capable of doing. So I'm not going to sit here and say that he can't improve, but I will say this. Ever since that year in afterwards, we haven't seen any glimpse of that. Really, at all consistently so I think he's showing us what he really is currently as a player and what he probably is going to continue to be. Very much up and down quarterback who sometimes has bad decision making capabilities on the on the offensive side and honestly. Kind of guy who just tries to take on the chin. From the media standpoint and try to hold it together. But clearly. You can see a Lotta raiders. Fans don't like Derek, Carr. A lot of media people don't like their car. And I don't think it's because he's a bad guy. I. Just think that he is not a guy that looks like he's leases team. It doesn't lucky has the locker room support. His coach is flip flopping on him all the time. It just seems like a bad environment for Derek. Carr wouldn't be surprised if he's gone somewhere else. Maybe he does what he needs. Right? Maybe he's the next bears quarterback who knows right? No. We've already seen one go to the bears. We might see another one as far as somebody from the raiders but. All in all, I can't make any judgments really about where he may end up, but I do know this, the raiders have a lot of talent offensively and A lot of their issues did not revolve around offense. Last you like you said, they could keep up in games games that they should have won that game against Green. Bay last year, they should have won. I don't know how they blew that game but. You know they were hop skip and a jump away from making the playoffs last year, and he was a part of that and he's also. A part of why they didn't because there's a lot of inconsistencies and they are still pretty much a younger team in the NFL trying to figure out how to make this thing work and young team than NFL. Are. Hard to finish games that really matter right, and sometimes they'll get hot other times. Things will get really really cold and Annabi. Walls different rookies hit at different times but. You know it's different right in the NBA, the rookie wall and playing a bunch of rookies is really Really. Really hard on them because they have to be able to maintain the offensive pace. Have Chemistry be able to fight through adversity and not turn the ball over twenty thousand times. Right In. The NFL a rookie on offense or defense..

"Screens. Sure Francis Ford Coppola play by Nicholas Cage Oh. Wow. Wow. So we keep it in the family and I just. Like I would just I would love to see that and I think that there actually is a very interesting story to be told about that marriage because it you've got to people especially in Francis who's like a control freak but then it's basically these two dueling filmmakers who are trying to make something at the same time during this incredibly tempestuous time both in the world in. Philippines where they were making the film and Hollywood where all the money was flowing from and I just think that on the casting alone I could spend like an hour talking about this. I must say, even though they are related, I can't picture Nicholas Cage in Sofia Coppola speaking to one another let alone starring opposite each other movie. Sure. How're you GONNA. Make those energies work. I don't know but I think that we're ready for the Prestige Nicholas and I know also it gets complicated because essentially these people are related. So you can they really play married couple but I do think that they were do a prestige award run. Nick. Cage. Roll? Like a revived, get him out of the making seven movies a year about vampires who are dentists and get him back in like a leaving Las Vegas type role. So that's just my first one off the top of my head. That's a great one that some it's kind of shocking that that hasn't already been made. The stories are are legion from the making of that film and Coppola has gone back to it. So many times to kind of re cut and re edited it's Officially, in that blade runner status of which version is the official version I've lost track now. and obviously hearts of darkness may be is that probably the most famous making of a movie documentary? Favorite one I mean the interesting thing about this question man is that I think that you and I probably enjoy movies like the player and state and main and hail. Caesar. That are like save means a little bit more about the actual production of a film but but the player and he'll Caesar are more about like the margins of Hollywood like the the movers and. The shakers in the agents and the associated producers in the the people who are kind of like in the shadows. So it's interesting to consider making a feature as as athlete will have to about the the big the actual making of the film, and as soon as you start casting someone to play Francis Coppola someone to play Martin Sheen or in the big goodbye case. Someone to play Jack Nicholson. Guy Do you think athletes going to cast himself?.
Derek Carr is getting upset
"So the Raiders are starting preparations like everyone else in the NFL for the wonky 2020 regular season. Derek Carr is still around. That is a surprise. He was supposed to be gone. He is battling and trying to hold on by his fingernails to the starting job in Lost wages. Nevada, the newly minted Las Vegas Raiders. Who will have no fans their first year in Vegas like everyone else, right? So car was asked if he had ever considered opting out of the season many players have done it does. I think over 50 now that have said they're not going to participate in this season? A couple of medium sized names a couple of star defensive players who have decided not to play in the 2020 season. But what about Derek? Or rather benign question, considering that he was at a Raider news? Conference. And so it's a fact that he's at practice with the Raiders at workouts, meetings and things like that. It seems pretty obvious that he's planning on playing. But that question ignited a very passionate response. If you did not hear this And maybe you missed it. You're not up on these type of things. Fair enough. That's why we're here. So Derek Carr said unequivocally. I did not. Did not think about tapping out like some of these other guys have done, And then he went on a rant and attempted to passionately explained his reasoning. In fact, we have The audio tape in his Warner Wolf would say, Let's go to the audiotape years. Derek Carr, the Raiders quarterback, opining about what what his motivation is for this year. I have a lot to prove to myself.

"You know. Seattle does that to everyone, but it's it's impressive that Seattle is able to do it without sue there and that's That's Kinda just who that storm team is. That's why I think the clear front runner but Anyway, that was too much of a rambling recap of what happened tonight. But that the Seattle Storm Chicago Sky Game we thought was going to be one of the closer matchups the last couple of days. Instead turned into a blood just because it didn't look like Chicago's ready for it No I think that's that's pretty. That's pretty well. Pretty well, stayed there I was really nervous as I was watching I WANNA go back to this Las Vegas in New York game I was really nervous watching this game Especially, the stretch because I, in our last episode of talked about how you know Las Vegas probably in my opinion, the second second best team right now, you know who I like what I'm seeing at Las Vegas, and then the almost dropped a game to New York. which made me so sweaty I was like Oh of course like I jinxed him like really bad could've been could've an awful. What's crazy is is I really do think that they are a really really solid team. I really liked what I'm seeing and I think that Asia Wilson is probably the one be in the MVP discussion right now. but isn't it's just wild to see that. Yeah. We were Kinda count in New York out, and then all they've done since we basically were like, well, we don't know when they're going to win again is they won a game and then nearly knocked off and maybe should have knocked off. The number two team in the League right now Las Vegas so. I guess, maybe the separation between you know two through twelve isn't necessarily as great as we originally thought but I do think Seattle's kind of in A. In a tear all their own. Speaking go ahead. Really Sucks about that. Liberty loss is like I said I think after that meeting that they had everyone where they decided let's slits not be this. Owen for deem like let's do something about it. I really think they were collecting some momentum and a win against aces probably wouldn't have hurt Las Vegas that much in the long run but is a huge leap to getting New York in the playoff discussion in just just getting some sort of. Some sort of confidence in in a young group that they don't happen to be afraid and intimidated by other teams like we stated that even though they lost I think Atlanta was able to accomplish that in their tight when against the storm. Yet, liberty really needed that instead because of the way they lost I don't know if coming that close really accomplished much for that team. Just because it was so disappointing and now like we said, you know minute ago when we were talking about who's GonNa snag those seven and eight spots, it's probably gonNA come down to a game. You know this is a twenty two game season. Whoever misses the playoffs is going to miss it by a game. and. You have to have games like that in order to be on the inside and not be left looking at the nine ten eleven. It's I feel like this is going to be an extremely close. Close season I feel like Seattle is probably gonNA. Stay. Number. One New York probably GonNa stay number twelve. It's really anybody's game. The rest of the seats like I really think that one in twelve are probably my most shor guesses. Everything else in between I'm not as not as sure I mean look at Phoenix for example, who's one four, their last five and their only loss came at the hands of Seattle but they also are missing Diana to Rossi. So they're missing Rossi but then that kind of made you know Greiner guided stepped up this this last game. In fact, even in a not just in the box score, but in the huddle Holly Rowe was reporting the. Generally. Greiner has been pretty quiet player. and hasn't stepped in and done a lot of the vocal leadership in the huddles and whatnot because. It's hard to do that when you get Diana Terachi who you know his is. Probably more vocal than your own coach. But with with Tracy out and not even in the in the building Greiner stepped up in Wisconsin. Taking charge in the huddles as kind of that Phoenix veteran. And the guy who stepped up in I think she had like twenty six. In their last game so I mean it's I it's hard to say they're sitting at four. There's there's four teams with five wins right now. Phoenix is. The the the race for the second seed, which matters because if the playoffs are gonNA doubles Eilly Yeah. If they're gonNA follow some semblance of their regular format getting those top two seeds gives you almost an automatic into being a in a in a finals run. And so there are four teams with five wins the sponsored a game out of that that second see domestic third two games out like the the fever three and four and technically two games out so. We know we have feelings about how those teams will end up ten games from now fifteen games from now you catch a little hot streak that bumps like. It could be it could be anybody. Like the mystics for all, we know are not a great team but because they kick off the season three, you know they have some wiggle. Yeah. To lose four games in a row and still be in the hunt and other teams just eliminated that wiggle room for themselves right off the bat and Connecticut Connecticut has to perform really well moving forward in order to climb. Now I'm not saying they couldn't pop up in be five or four CD even. They very well could be there that kind of there. There really are a solid team with a lot of Talat. And they seem to be kind of figuring it out. But they dug themselves too big of a whole to start so they have to play. Like, extremely good basketball and can't go on any even even minor losing streaks and still have a shot at you know first round. A first-round. Bye or anything like that. You know they gotta they gotTa play extremely extremely well moving forward. You know what's interesting about the sun while we're on that topic because this is sort of an interesting segue into a topic I wanted to touch on next this can be a whole you can consider this all another segment of our podcast. Thanks are making R I wanNA talk a little bit about the MVP race. Yeah. Let's I was just about to bring that up. I think you can make the argument that every every team in the top six right now as an MVP candidate it with at least a fringed chance of making that argument and then the sun down at ten. In I don't I don't think I missing anybody else. I don't think anybody on the fever dream liberty or mystics really have. Really have anyone that stand out as a real shot but I think Connecticut and the top six teams I'll have somebody that they could put forward is their champion glare map which which kind of gives even more credit to what you were saying about the sun. Just facing such a steep uphill climb being four games below five hundred amsoil early in the season. But among those others. I would like to hear I would like to hear your. Top three in order the the way that we did our top three teams last episode. Because I think mine have have changed recently I'm interested in hearing yours. That's tough..

Australia England they communicate with each other during the life which I think is pretty they talk hey, what are you gonNa like I'm not in there but Eat Eucharist Sanjoy, and actually being my inspiration you started to go live and I remember that too. You're talking and people were chewing up about seeing you there and I remember one day you said something that covid nineteen has a better person because we knew who has Jordan this busy the men in town, and then suddenly you time for your family Even for me I remember talking to you every day. I miss that John. It was the point was that when I was visiting my family in Idaho that you suddenly you're back in your original incarnation, you're the sun, the brother, the the. brother-in-law the uncle, the grandson you know, and that's where you are. That's where you are when when they take your costume away. So that was the point of it, but you know I mix it up pretty well, bit of Yeah I I've been interviewing so many people I'd be interviewing you and to Nelson many things about you and so many of my friends the normally I never had the time because I was always busy without saying to spend give attention to them. I've known that I mean. The is a is a beautiful world. There are so many great people out there and I think covid nineteen, slowdown, the world. So we we had more time for us for one full discover friends family I talked to my family normally I talked to my mom and dad every day. But now, I get to talk to other friends and family members in Italy because they know I'm home they are home. So I can hide behind nothing. Yes. Sorry. I'm busy now. I. Get this where I ask somebody if they can you know be interviewed or do something like, Hey, how your free Monday at two pm the answers usually been g let me check my schedule Yes. How many hours do you need? You talked about your family in Italy. You're originally from Venice as you've spoken of many times. Why did you? When did you move to Las Vegas? First of all, let's put the time stamp on what brought you to this city in the first place being Venice. Las Vegas would say here ago. I came I lived in New York City before before that I lived in La for two years and before that at least eleven years in New York City. So I moved from and before that Nancy them then London. So I've been like a gypsy, my whole life. But what brought me to Las Vegas is is been like a coincidence. You know had these special that films in two, thousand, fifteen and Two Thousand Sixteen around the United States and even though he was a national project. So Ola, he started from Washington every PBS stations around the United States. They have three, hundred, eighty, five of them. They can back it won't cost a show or not. Girlfriend's going to absolutely have it'd be texting me in a second. She hears this, but. I have like I said. I have just like everyone in the whole world I. Have Family and friends who have gone through this are going through those who work with blended families. This is something that affects all of our lives in one way or another, and especially with the anxiety community. This just ramps up. You know every possible emotional button that you can have shame worthiness. Stability financial security you know holy cow so. I I don't even know where to start. I'm so excited. I don't even know where to start. How did you so you are? You've been through this world. Did you start as? Well let me let me back up. Where did you start near your career before you realize that this was a passion of yours? Oh, I never wanted to be a lawyer. So why decided I wanted to be a lobbyist I was going to go to the day and work in politics and I got into Grad school and that was my career path, and then I said you know what if I'm going to spend a couple more years in school, a muzzle. Get my lodge, agree, and then I can maybe do something else with it and I never looked back on. Now looking at looking in the past I think Washington would have chewed me up and spit me out I. would've never survive there. So I just I you know. When I started practicing, it was with a small firm, and they were really good at criminal defense in yet they did family law, and they didn't want to do it or didn't like to do it, so they kind of punt it all those cases to me and it was just something that I found I actually enjoyed, and I found that I could really help people or really advocate for the people who didn't have a voice to so and that was you know. I started that a couple months after I got married myself. intoned fast forward eighteen years in two divorces later. Here I am. I've lived in worked in space for a while now. I can't imagine. Marrying and then divorcing a divorce attorney that must have been terrified for him. You know what the you know what the funny thing is like. Despite doing this for work, I really hate conflict in my personal life, and it's something I'm working on, but that was so interesting. I would not like like I was like okay. Let's just do this. Let's just do this fast in. Move on what you want. The end let's focus on so from my first marriage I have a son, and the focus has been completely on him and co-parenting the second marriage barely counts because I was in an elegantly fast so. That didn't exist. The Britney Spears. Marriage were totally six hours in Las Vegas. Pretty Mum. It. What's interesting about that? And so I? You know I sort of I I love when we get a new gas especially with a topic that's outside of our air quotes, nor even though Kelly my co host and I have. I mean we tried to interview everyone with every walk of life every expertise, but what I really was interested in what I saw your name, pop I'm like? Oh! We haven't had this and we have so many parallels. The more eye steeped in all your stuff and girl I went through the to the bottom your instagram. Every podcast What I love the. Talk about enough newness you talk about shame you talk about that empowerment and reinventing new life and what I love about what you just said is. You Know Kelly and I work with folks that are in the anxious community. And we've been been through it ourselves. We wouldn't wish it on our worst enemies, and we both you know genuinely hate the experience that we went through. We're very thankful for what we went through. I I'm sure it's a whole that you have aspects of your life that you're thankful you. Did you went through the trials you went through? But it's we have to do it again. We might be in the same exact boot. Right yeah, and you know it's so interesting because exile. Hits I think anyone going through a divorce and you may have never experienced since I exiled, and if you're going through that, you're you know it's GonNa keep you up at night and I agree with you. Because everything that I had gone through made me. A better lawyer, a better advocate me more compassionate made me be able to talk to someone and say I. Know How hard it is to Co parent, but here's why you have to do it anyway, and it made me even the work I do today is all because of all the experiences that I had in the past why apps have absolutely no regret. Regret it really just helped me kind of find my purpose in mission and everything and I think that had i. not gone through that or made those mistakes I would have never been in that position to speak the way I. do about Shane about being true to who you are authentic in your life known shame such a big topic and it's one. It, you know, and it's the one that really honestly kicked started my path in my mission and kind of passion for all of this, because I never spoke about it I, did not talk about my own divorce, because I was so embarrassed in so ashamed of it,
Conversation With Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson
"Delighted to welcome. To our program, a very important guests at this unbelievably strange time from the Mountain West Conference Commissioner Craig Thompson Commissioner thank you very very much for making the time I I, I can only imagine what your schedule is like. These days especially Zoom Bill Assuming there is one good afternoon. Paul good to be with you. You know I hope to mode no more about The next ninety minutes to two hours I have a four o'clock board calling five o'clock standing Monday de call, so we all compare notes and Kinda live by that old adage. God gave us two ears and one off for a reason, right? We're trying to learn from each other. Well we appreciate you making time I'm curious before we get down to some of the obvious questions Since, this occurred you. You've been very obviously active in in the NCAA, basketball tournament, having chaired the the men's basketball committee, and it all started there, and and I know in in your many many years is as commissioner. You've experienced so much but How do you? How do you prepare yourself for something like this? which is literally off the charts. Really is and you know again you don't because. no-one there might have been a few people worldwide They'd be well into their hundreds that were around nineteen eighteen. Spanish flu days, but For the most part, nobody's dealt with any of this Paul. So it's all new, and and it's It's disconcerting. It's hard. It's sad, but it's It's life and it's something we. We have to adjust to and and moved from. In as you get closer to what are really critical decisions, other conferences have made these choices many have not What what do you weigh as you're about to go onto? Another call here how how do you determine these things? Well, it's really got to beat a the safety and the health soccer you I think it's simply going to come down to what is the risk tolerance for for all the various groups just within our FBI subdivision and certainly there's. A rank and file and differences between the autonomous five leaks and a group of five leaks, but You've got you've got. A ton of governors. There's fifty state governors in that up BS group, one hundred thirty board of trustees, regions, one hundred thirty university presidents and Chancellors hundred thirty athletic directors under thirty head, football coaches, and I guarantee it dollar on the same page, and so you know we're. We're just trying to adjust on what makes the most sense for my university and ultimately our conferences. And everyone has a different set of circumstances as you said Commissioner Thompson but. It is late I think you know that we all we all know that. As you are about to go on these calls here in the next hour or two How do you start narrowing the window and coming to? Conclusions! Well we all kind of went into that false pretense and hope that fans should be better in July and August and we had time right back in March. We had four months to figure this out when we've got probably less than four weeks. A couple of weeks a big date coming up on Friday with you know the the six week period starting extended team practices, and then most camps opening somewhat in that August seventh time friend I! I had a good exchange with one of our head. Football coaches today saying you know I don't even know what to do. Because of campus regulations and concerns, we have one institution that's had nearly one hundred football players for little over a month. Now Paul and we have another institution that literally has no football players, conditioning of or working out degree, and so you know we're all over the map based on a local and university, muncipality rules and regulations and. I said this for months gone on standby. One of one of the big concerns and focal points for us is the state of California They just announced today that they're going to delay. The start of their prep season suggested until December or January didn't give an exacting, and they join a couple of states that the prep seasons have been canceled altogether one of our states New Mexico, so just just trying to deal with all the nuances and differences in rules, policies and allowances. As you as you try to deal with with some some issues before that certainly, the non-conference issues a lot of non conference. Games have been scrubbed. I. Has that been a major issue for you or Were you in reasonably good shape. Well it is a big issue, and of course years of all years. This is our twenty seven season A. We had more home games against PAC twelve than any time in our previous 21-year-history, we lost home games. Ucla at both. San Diego State ally. Utah, Colorado Washington state calendars on a state. They were GONNA play at the new two billion dollar NFL stadium in Las Vegas against UNLV so a lot of people like to point to that financial loss of losing the the six road at twelve games and a and a guarantee. Those seven home games from from both of financial interest level, and then ultimately you know television perspective CBS. Fox Aren't real thrilled. You know that we lost those seven home games. Talking to the Commissioner of the Mountain West Craig Thompson discussing all the variables. Commissioner. We. We've talked to so many different commissioners over these past few months, and as you as you so eloquently pointed out a minute ago. Everyone has a different set of circumstances and challenges you maybe more than than most because of the geographical aspect. But how do you think and it shouldn't be that hard to think about it since it's not far off? How how do you ultimately come up with what you would say? Good solution, not only for your member institutions, but for the safety of the athletes. Well again. You not to lean on your medical people and that's one of the. Major aspects of this board call coming up in an hour, so Paul because It's the first time that they in a while. They've heard directly from the the medical advisory group and you know they don't depend on them. You know they. They are the experts, will we? The board are economists and Then different walks of life. They're not medical people, per se, and so you know you really have to lean heavily on what makes sense I. I said four months ago and I I contend today. A lot of this is going to be perhaps probably triggered by what happens on our campuses. What they look like in the next month or so you know everybody's either hybrid mostly online You know there's GonNa. Be Certainly people walking around campus, but you know you. You really can't expect to have a college athletics if you don't have a fairly open in some degree. Campus. Commissioner I, it's no secret Wherever conferences are located and and and spread that football pays the majority of the bills there. There's some outliers of course but What's at stake you just from a revenue standpoint? Well you know. Let's all kinds of figures in I I know that A couple of our department said have lost Well in excess of ten million dollars now, and then could jump into without football alum Paul you know double and triple, and you know those are not insignificant numbers. They're smaller than the world. You live in I lived in Atlanta. For four years. New Orleans for twelve years both children born in New Orleans and well versed in an SEC football, and what it means in a walk of life, and so it's different, no question it's different I live in Colorado and and what it's like in Western states, but but none the less. You, do not escape whatever love your Ad. That football is probably that you know eighty eighty five percent of of an athletic budget, and and so it's so very important, but you know as harmful as painful rather as it is from the financial perspective now that cannot be the driving force won't be the driving force. It will be that the health and safety it'll be university decisions. You know I've always. Always felt. The presidents of universities and chances have an extremely difficult position now more so than ever because they're pushed him pulled in and all these different directions and you know I. Don't know how the decision will. Ultimately made would fall looks like from terms of football. I don't know who makes that decision, but Hopefully they'll be some clobbering collective. Let's let's go right to the College Football playoff. Can you even imagine a world where pick a number? Three conferences can play in the fall and seven up to play in the spring. What happens to see a p.? Is there a CFP? Does that make sense to have a CFP? I guess it might depend on those three conferences are and I use. You know you, you're GONNA have to look at this for for the good of everybody, and and you know the collaboration and collective exchange and we've seen conferences. Do things unilaterally I mean as a commissioner. You Work for twelve schools. You don't work for honored thirty FBI schools, and so you're doing what's right, and what's your membership is is directing and advise you to do, but we do have to get together and get the same page in some regards spor for the sake of the CFD for instance and the bowl system. I know at least I'm told in talking to your colleagues commissioners. We wind down. I know you've got a lot of meetings to that. You are a collaborative group. I mean that's a fact. I mean we see that all the time but it but I wonder though. Because we've already seen some some. Some schisms as we had the big ten, and then everyone else said something else I mean the PAC twelve and the big ten, and do you. Are you concerned about the stability of of what you do every day and try to work with everyone else within the framework of college athletics. I am and I'm not I mean again. We try to work together, but at the end of the day our plan for fourteen or ten members, order media have will dictate. What direction are leagues go and I know the NCAA takes a ton of shots, but the NCAA is membership driven. It's schools that are that are ultimately making decisions and the conferences the exact same way, so you know we can compare but I. I am concerned about The postseason college football, the the CFC's a five hundred million dollar enterprise NCAA. Basketball Championship is a six hundred million dollars in a prize number of conferences of two hundred and fifty to three hundred million dollar annual TV, contracts, and and we can't go ten I don't well. Yeah, anything's possible. You could go ten separate ways I. certainly don't think it's going to be that way at the end of the day. Commissioner will let you get back to your meetings, but thank you for making time. It was just a pleasure to to hear your perspective as someone who is so well respected. And revered in this industry we be well and let's hope for some good news. Stay safe yourself my friend.

'Palm Springs' is like 'Groundhog Day' all over (and over) again
"Getting straight into Palm Springs, and and you know we're in the non spoiler section right now, but we'll get into a little later really. Really, I'm just curious because you know most writers when they know that they're in the shadow of Groundhog Day, you know they kinda give up. Because how could you do better than groundhog day, but would soon entertaining about your film, is you? You take it in a different direction, but you still you know I feel pay a little bit of orange to some of the the mathematics of groundhog day and kind of go on your own direction. Tell me, tell me how palm springs started. I know it's the most boring question. The you've been asked a million times, but we're GONNA get deeper into the story mechanics, so it'll be interesting to hear how the idea formed. On At Afi maximum I made a couple of shorts together made our thesis Dome Together, and then during our second year there. Trial McDowell and Justin later came in showed us the one I love. And they're both in fi. grads had graduated maybe eight years earlier than when they aim roughly at at and they talked about being stuck in. A finishing school being stuck in kind of a development hell. On some other movie, and then there, whatever five years out of school and they didn't have much to show with it, children and Think drugs at a general meeting with Mark Who said like what do you have that we can go and make? Something on the cheap, and they're. They made the one I love, and so their advice to our entire class was like. Go make something right away. Is that same kind of marked loss. Due to blast. Brothers model just like just make something. and I think maximum. I took that to heart in the week after graduation. I think exactly five years ago, maybe this weekend or last week and we. We Like let's make our first meeting. We headed out the palm springs in had a our little last week in talking about. What we want to be is one location or locations contained that we know we can do. and. We both have an affinity to palm springs settled on hot springs, but Out Can, we came with a sketch of this character. Niles, who is just who was born out of conversation between me and Max in like? Mining our own personal fears in shame and insecurities, and from that point on Like it evolved into the groundhog day. Thing in a way. Did it just like? Ask US five years ago, it was it was more like of leaving Las Vegas. In just. As our as our own personal lives change over the cut, the following years, and you know. The influence of large forty-nine on me all that stuff it. It led the movie into a different direction than I think initially set out to do, and then once we landed on the ground hog day aspect of it all. You can look at groundhog days. Maybe at the end he figures out the meaning life. He's gifted this. This the day handing in the next day begins

EVO 2020 was cancelled
"Yvo Twenty twenty has been canceled due to various sexual abuse allegations. Yvo Is the biggest annual fighting game tournament in the world, and even with the covid nineteen issues plaguing everyone on the planet. The tournament was soldiering on with plans to make it fully online. Earlier this week, however that all fell apart, and in order to learn more about it, I called on Imran Khan to explain everything Imron. Come into the gaming ride home show again for having me Yvo was canceled. And I just want you to give me the full story. What happened? Why was it canceled? Everything start from the beginning, so ego is the biggest fighting tournament in America Kinda the biggest in the world. There's like some discussion about that at this point, but ego is basically where fighting games have been aspiring to for the last twenty thirty years and listening started in the ninety S. This year, obviously because of covid kit have their usual Mandalay Bay Las Vegas big gathering of fighting game players. So this year they ended up canceling I place. Eve Online Eve online was a different thing where the. Mainly, got games together with like Netco like mortal Kombat eleven and them fighting her indie game that was originally based on my little pony, but basically it was A. It has to evolve brand that could stay around despite not being the big mass gathering tournament that they expect over the last couple of weeks. There's been a bigger. industry-wide movement to out sexual predators in gaming and the gaming industry, and some companies have been hit harder than that are with that bubis off for example, but for the most part it's. It's not a huge thing within the FTC. Because the FTC's always kind of had a reputation of like. Being a bit more open with their sexual harassment and it's always like. It's never been to a level of. A mass critical mass. Joey quilter this past week yesterday in for yesterday in fact was outed by a player. Named He's just does mikey. He goes online and is after the tag is crack. Peron but George Taylor. Who is the head of the current? President Vivo who founded it with Tommy Tony Kanaan. was outed for experiences when he was. Close, to twenty, where they were southern golf land, which is an amusement park in l. a.. That mikey accused him of basically. Paying money to young kids to take their shirts. Germany polls mikey related experience where he said quarter. Paid him twenty dollars to see his genitals inside a restroom and bought him pornography so. It's IT'S A. It's a larger thing that when you look at it from the perspective of not a child who just thinks they're having fun. It's real creepy, but what is conditions came out. Other people's Front, also coming out of the woodwork, saying like more finding old chaser people were talking about doing these things, but not naming names, and now that it's out. The floodgates are broken out. Yvonne immediately went. No, WE'RE GONNA put on administrative leave and check this out, so I mentioned Tom. Tony Kennedy before their more famous like they are obviously co-founders of ego, but there are more famous right now for being developers of Product L. at riot games so. They had to step in for this and go okay. We're looking at this right now. We're investigating and seeing what happens. It did not take very long before nether realm. I believe the first one like say. Are Involved with ego involvement in that sense means we don't WanNA game there. We're not going to earn any money towards prize pools. We're not doing any advertising which is fairly big deal. Arguably moral combat was like the lead game for that tournament. Right for the online tournament. Yes, Merle come at usually has a hard time with like the in person tournament. Fighting community hasn't really take to that game too well, but as an online net code game like for example, smash brothers was canceled for Eve online because the net code. Isn't that good, so this is more time to shine. The actual like really arguably was streetfighter as it is every year. This year. Are Not meeting her, but a little bit. After another canceled COP CANCELED IN ONCE CAPCOM cancels gets away from ego. Then that's that's the ballgame lets. Everything goes away soon after main sex developers of them biting heard who this is their big chance to become A. Kind of a household name and if I didn't need community, they cancelled. Bay Namco canceled and ran into that ego are the canons came out with a message from as ego saying? Hey, we were cutting for joy color. He is not president anymore. In the future, he will have zero involvement with the organization this not he's going to not be on. He's going to be on the board, or he'll be the FCC or he'll still kind of tournaments. They're cutting it off completely. Shortly after that they also that announced, we can't under these circumstances and this change in organization also do evil online in a couple of weeks in August. A month or in August? I. Know that screws over a lot of people, but. It seems like honestly the best. Call right now of. You'RE GONNA have to go through with work. That joy has done or you're going to have to. Try It's from scratch. Cobble together in event that takes at least a year to actually set up and try to get together in a couple of weeks. Yeah, I mean they just they basically. Got Rid of the boss in the most public way, possible right I mean it's it's you can't just like recover from that in a matter of weeks. Really Yeah, it's. It is one of those things of a lot of this is. Probably high time for the funding community insert reckoning with a lot of these things, because it's an issue for a number of years, it was I. I don't know if you recall but a about eight years ago, there was a street fight across capcom across Tekken. Show online, and it ended up ending as a result of some sexual harassment claims, and those a big divide in the community about like whether sexual harassment was a just a part of the culture or not and. Stuff like this doesn't help that argument. No I mean I like you, said earlier I mean like. Feels like the right call to elevate it, and as disappointing as it is for Yvo to be cancelled like it's a big flag for like we need to address. This is if we're going to cancel this event because we need to look at ourselves internally and I think I. Mean Hope the hope is that they come out better on the other side. I mean it seems like this is one of those things where. I. Hesitate to say Covid kind of save them but. If. This were an actual in person things still at Mandalay Bay then they wouldn't be able to cancer that quickly an online tournament. Shuttered a lot more easily. The bigger question now is what happens next year.

"Rios disappeared after going into a little shop in a strip mall in Las Vegas. Her husband was sitting in the car, waiting for her, but she never returned. After waiting quite a while, he went into the store that he had seen her go into and asked if she was still there. The owner of the store told him that she had bought a couple of books and left. Her husband knew that she had gone into the little store called spycraft to buy a book on how to clean up her credit. Thank you so much for having me John. It's always a pleasure to talk to you to hang with you. It's just always a lot fush. We've known each other for quite some time and I want to start with the with the the first time I saw you. 'cause it's one of my favorite stories ever in Las Vegas. It was when you were at the Rio and it was the. I think it was called the Rio Bombo Lounge. Yup they're ninety nine and I was going there to see to see the then recently opened a Voodoo Lounge cafe upstairs. I was walking across the casino and I heard this energy and I felt this power coming from the casino floor to the off to the side. Where right now is the is a sportsbook and kind of the elmer gorilla thing in that area and I went over there and I saw people who were sitting at slot machines who were dressed up outside this lounge right. They were there a night out and they were sitting machines and not playing them. And I heard this sound blasting out of this room and I went in at the entrance of it and it was packed with people dressed up and having a time in the middle of this thing under a light was earl turner in a canary yellow suit. As I remember way and you remember that throwing it down dude and I was like what I have I walked into it was like a it was like the energy that just suck me and I looked around and people were having a blast and I'm like I don't know who this guy is exactly but I need to get to know him. I thought feeling I'M GONNA be writing about him saving and sure enough so there you go. That was a nine. You've been in Las Vegas. I think can hear what yeah loud. You remember those days. Why Ever Las Vegas to man? That really wasn't from Las Vegas. I don't know whether I would call it the beginning of the end sure. It's IT'S BEGINNING OF THE END. Of the lounges as we knew them Historically from LAS VEGAS. Yeah where they were The place to go to place to be to see Some really really really good entertainment That's not to say that we don't have great. Entertainment allows but the idea of the lounges has been kinda overshadowed by now the nightclubs and it's it's a different. It's a different time but those those days man you went to the casinos and You checked out what was going on. In the lounges. As much as you did the showrooms there were going to be entertainers in their even at their all. And you're going to have a good time. It was. It was certainly a destination experience. And I know that you were able to to break from your Earlier gigs at during your sets to go see other performers along astronomer or lounge and small venue institutions. People Checkmate's I think we were invented that time interesting. That you mentioned the Voodoo Voodoo had been open for a little while a guy by the name of Jimmy Hopper Was Holding Court up there. Okay and what? How many floors up was that? Was that a ticket was a fifty fifty. First and fifty second floors the restaurants underneath. And then the the lounges on top. I think those are the floor. Fifty fifty one fifty two Night and at this time the the Rio was owned by a very predominant builder in Las Vegas by the name of Twenty Mar. Now the gentleman who was the president or general manager of the Rio at that time. was a guy named John Lip quits. They had hired me to come to the real There were there. Were two sort of stipulations that John had was that he wanted to make sure that I had a sax player and to he wanted me to cross market with Jimmy Hopper on the weekends on every other weekend Jimmy and I would alternate going to each other's lounge and doing a song or two with each other every weekend but you gotta understand something. The weekends at the Rio were unbelievable. Imagine the Strip on New Year's Eve okay That's what the inside of the Rio was like. At that time every weekend showed the shoulder literally. I had to be taken with security through back ways through the back of House. entrances and exits to get up stairs to the fifty second floor. Why because it was impossible for me to get from my Riobamba Lounge to the masquerade area of the casinos impossible. That's how literally shoulder to shoulder. It would take. I don't know probably ten fifteen minutes to walk across the casino every weekend. We had to be escorted to each other's venues. How crazy that place was now? Mind you it was the place to be Because the palms hadn't even open yet he's mom's wasn't even built. Yeah I remember the the opening of Club Rio. It was the the first Hotel it had a mega club in it. That was X-ray and when they expanded it with a the Ma- I think it was a masquerade towers. Up in that whole expansion of it was. It was a really cool place. You are so right and I remember when I walked into too. That was another thing. In the way was the day GLO paint painted the whole vibe of their Jimi was playing an atlas another world. It was really really cool. I don't think people who have recently moved to Las Vegas can appreciate how how Sheikh the RIA wasn't how on point it was. It was a really fun place. Yeah you're right in the center of Mantle or forget that night quite a time man. Yeah you got the you got you moved to Las Vegas About Eighty nine right came on permanently for the dunes took out why. What was the catalyst for you performing there and Why was it that particular resort launched a career in Las Vegas? Okay so if I said was the only place I could get a job okay. We'll hire you and that was it. That was my catalyst and then they said we'll pay you and I was like. Oh it's on show up. Yeah Yeah There's no question about it. I'm here I could not get a job I could not get booked. It wasn't that I couldn't get a job. I couldn't get booked in Las Vegas because at that time The entertainment directors. Didn't you know. They did what they wanted to do. In terms of bookings were always bands and people that wanted to be booked potatoes and so on so they didn't have to go anywhere. I wasn't in Tau so they couldn't come see me. It was a catch twenty two. See me because I wouldn't booked in town. I wasn't booked to now because they hadn't seen right. Oh I had and I told the story. I told the story last night. I had been scheduled by manager. Had got me a date at the Met Lounge. You remember the midland. Yes Event Hotel. I remember it being. Yeah I remember being before I lived here but I certainly know it. Yes okay so. The Mint Lounge was the premier place to perform. If you were of any substance in this town okay. That's where the Santa Fe Santa Fe. Oh my gosh. Yeah and so. If you've got a GIG in the meant lounge who you were on but you had better be on when you get there. I got a job at the loud. I gotTa Contract Admit Lounge through my manager. He knew the guy there and a month before was supposed to come to Las Vegas to perform for the first time. They sold it so back to square one and so my manager came to Las Vegas so so my manager says to me you know what we need to do is we need to book Laughlin and so you know I said where Laughlin Yeah and I was like. Oh Kay he said. Yeah if I can get you the Laughlin than maybe I can get someone from Las Vegas to come down and see you. So that was the plant so I had been I come to Laughlin in Nineteen. Eighty Eight My manager while I was in Laughlin came to Las Vegas and he knocked on every door possible of every entertainment director possible at every casino possible. Nobody would go too often to see me. And so as he was about to leave town with his tail literally between his legs his last phone call was to the entertainment director at the dunes. A lady by the name of Karen Dorsey who she are still great friends. Even today he called her and it just so happened when he mentioned laughlin she said my husband and I. I can't remember whether there's a birthday and anniversary or something we're going with another couple to Laughlin This weekend and he said that's great. He said that's where my guy is. Could you guys possible? Could you just stop in and see him for maybe five minutes? Just stop in and see him so they had really. They'd struck a chord with one another even though they hadn't met and so she agreed to do it. She agreed to while they were in Laughlin stopped by Colorado and See Sky. So Yeah Yeah so she her husband. Joe and the other couple they come to Laughlin and she tells them I really need to go now. She's not supposed to be working. I really need to go and see the sky. His manager called.

"And so the thing is is that people still go to these places but whatever the control points are to make sure that again you don't have a fever or whatever it might be whatever the new normal becomes but people absolutely at a certain point in time probably within twenty four months. Thirty six months are going to want to experience big nightclubs because it's a visceral experience. Yeah I think I agree with you. I think that I think that the emotional connection to those places for what they deliver will will lead people to say. Okay we if we have to go through a security check. We'll we'll deal with a health check for lack of a better term health China great. That's that's it you know. Go through the line security. Check Line where you're you know. I can see what you're saying. I I when people people who for years said that you know yeah. The era of the Mega Club. You know is crested. It's over and when I go to these places and you know it's it's a powerful experience I have to say and it's an it's it's they're well populated for a reason and it's because they deliver something that nobody else can you know. The structures are beautiful. The technology is amazing. And it's you don't you don't count him out. I say that don't don't count these players like when when you go see when you go see lady Gaga as an example at park theatre. That's an experience if you see her at the nomad. That's an experience if you were to see her at a club in a club setting like Hong Kong or something. That's a different experience. Some point is is that you know a wide variety of options for people to show their best and their talent. You know is always something if you could see lady Gaga. Do Standard with Tony Bennett. If you could see our part theater if you could see her nomad if you could Seahawk Fan. They're all going to be different. And some are more intimate in summer broader but the places are built to deliver the best of that person in that environment. So depending on what you're looking for or maybe you're just a huge lady Gaga Fan. That wants all four. Because you WANNA see all four options if you will because you're a huge fan so I just think that clubs have been so synonymous with DJ's. But I think that in Las Vegas and around the world. We've seen that. They've been great places for traditional performers as well so they're really just entertainment centric places that you're getting a different experience. I promise you they're not going away. Yeah I totally agree. I agree sometimes my friends and entertainment community. Laugh at me when I said that. But there's there's there's a lot of appeal to these clubs like saying it's like saying the shows are dead in Vegas. The late Chosen Vegas are deadened Vegas and then someone comes out does absent and it's just different if you do like you know the knock on circle of these years. Is they become a victim of their own. Success there so popular that it becomes passe that their brand entertainment. Isn't you know what people want while it's not necessarily that doing fifteen shows? Maybe not maybe if there were five you know. So that's the thing with the clubs. An- shows in general is that sometimes they become victims of their success because then every resorts like Mayfair as an example. Okay now everybody wanted you know at least when I was there All all these other people wanted quote unquote supper clubs. Told me that a couple of general managers had told you they wanted quote unquote supper clubs. Yeah I've been asked about it immediately about the appeal of it. What would you know what it felt like to be in there? How you know how played and especially at a place like Balaj which was so prominent right on the water and it had a history of different doing different things in that location. But I think you know when when we bring up the like entertained like headliners might have to be more do more apply more dexterity in their live Experience in the next phase of entertainment cirque Du Soleil People Forget often at circus. Lewis started as dance or as a as a breach of street performers in a traveling show and attended show in in more of the scale of an absence and they could easily deliver that again. You know I think that people will realize that you mentioned you know who seeing lady Gaga in different formats. You know I. I look at somebody like Celine Dion. Who has been known of course was a trailblazer at the Coliseum? But I've also seen her dude in the arena in in Nashville and blow minds and also with Steve Aoki Omnia and I think entertainers start to look at how they can deliver their art in knows different venues. You might come to away to see how this move forward After out of this crisis I think that I think that might be the way we're going. Well I lady Gaga you. Know is a great example. Someone who probably takes as much pleasure playing for her families and friends at home as to eighteen thousand people because she's just a performer Thing is back when I grow up. I was used to the US You know in the early days of Madonna. You know she was the original who every few years switched her sound switched her luck and was always you know in the beginning. Maybe it's uncomfortable. You know the new presentation of whatever music or kind of visual presence was but people artists in general people but artists. Also who don't change just become I duNno. Classic are all in some cases classic in the case of there's always a business for like a huge yacht rock fan pat can never get tired of seeing. Classic Yacht Rock like I saw Michael McDonald Venetian last year. I could see him often. So it's not like his career disappears because he's an older guy but they go into the bucket of kind of classics if you will whereas someone like Madonna might even be relevant today with new music at Last hit but even is recently. Is maybe five. Six years ago had a thirty year career of you know staying on top in being relevant you know in the EDM space guys like stone. David Guetta been around for twenty five years and are still the top draws in the world. So it's just a matter of Where are you? Are you still working with the best producers the best people to solve the same drive and things like that so you either change or you get left behind if my entire motto was? Hey I'm sean. The Club Guy. Then I become an old club guy if I become SEAN. Chrissy a guy who's leading hospitality company that wants to create new experiences. That at the core please you You know in in an always striving to please you that kind of where I want to be In in in this new company if you will yeah well. That's that's an excellent way to land at Sean. I know that It's it's been a challenging time also opportunity in all these crises. I know that you're you're gonNA It's definitely going to be a focal point when this when this was all in the rear view mirror behind us in some way. I like the idea by the way I think you could build an entire nightlife experience around. Yeah interesting enough. Prior to the crisis we did yacht rock Fridays at nomad. Yeah I know I saw one of them. Yeah I walked. I didn't I've had not been aware it was in the music. Drew me in and I spent about an hour and it's Eh define crowd in a couple of my friends that are hooting and hollering. Yeah a yacht rock guy show. We had the wind. Jammers was formed by a bunch of veteran top notch musicians in Las Vegas and erotic rox lounge at record they were getting all kinds of overtures after just like four after four shows was so fun so I think I think I would say bookmark back concept. Shout Shout Shout Yoplait crew. If you don't know who they are. They're southern California band that Does a whole Gimmickry with outfits but are good and if you just check out. Ya crew credible and so I want to get them out here. Yep Great Name. All right when you do name your your your your company. Let me know and I'll kick that out and then any any advances you're making. I'm always on the other end of the end of the line and I appreciate your Your time and everything you've delivered to the city and we'll just keep keep plowing forward likewise all right brother. He'll listen johnny. Keep doing what you're doing because I think that especially in this time you're instagram's your podcast recalls. I mean for me. They've been a bright spot because talking about how this city is going to come back with entertainment with notable figures. It really is a bright spot. People need things to latch onto and I think that again. This city is the capital of entertainment in the world. So you know the things you're doing I'm bringing people on your show and talking about kind of. Hey what are the next steps in? How do you feel about it and all these great things and reminding people of what this city is at its core is.

"Talking about it and using very measured approach and we'll make a decision on anything should right now. It's going forward but health safety. It will be at the top of the list and if there's any any type of problem or thought of that there would be one. I'm sure that they will make adjustments to whatever schedule. How are you going to address this at Allegiance Stadium? When when Home Games are nearing the preseason comes close again talking about those. What's his family right now. It's interesting I wouldn't say we're fortunate but it's the other sports right now that are dealing with the National Basketball Association the NHL even in Palm Desert Larry Ellison's PNB tennis tournament. I believe he just cancelled that. Yeah and that's a huge huge event that they have we've seen South West canceled. I mean when you go. You're looking at those scale that scales offense again that that that's happening right now and so you know looking forward a month or two. We don't know where it's going to be. But I guarantee that the the League Players Association and the leaders here. We'll come up with those who you just mentioned. We'll be in conference with. Nba officials about how they handled. You think there will be a dialogue between those two given it there. I think there's a dialogue between everybody. Yeah okay in the in the public sphere you have to. I'm GonNa ask you kind of predicted question as John. The same thing the other night on the red carpet you can't escape it but Tom Brady Tom Brady. He's a quarterback out of In the Boston area. I'm not talk. Tom Brady not to be confused with any member of the Brady bunch or any. What what. What's the answer to those who say. I want to ask Tom Brady of friend or foe is he. Where is he in your in your conversations from a competitive standpoint and how? How's that decision? Good friend or foe. I've only met Tom once. I'm here at the fight the other night. I was the first time you met him. That's for some say hi okay. I know his mom and dad very well to bay area people. Yeah and so. I've known them for years. Forty niners ticketholders. Yeah but I don't I don't know Tom but it was nice to say A Lotta Lotta Raider. Fans have a lot of venom towards him But it wasn't he made the decision was officials Yeah that's right. And we're taking the Franco Harris again. She officials so and the day you were what might have considered frank. Harris was a free agent. Despite the immaculate reception is are we going by that seriously? Who makes this is such a big decision to make in terms of personnel do you. You're asking that question. Yeah that's not my decision who I Mike Mayock is. The general manager became Jon. Gruden is the head coach. They make the decisions on the football side on personnel. And everything my role that I've I've made my own role is I'm the devil's advocate I'm the one who's going to challenge them on every angle of any decision of that magnitude and just test them and they know they don't need the test but just to test them and give them questions they might not have thought of or whatever but the decision is fully. There's so if my came to you with a plan to maybe trade Derek before free agency and signed any free agent quarterback including Brady. Would you say well? I'M NOT GONNA make individual comments on any player or anything like that. But sure it's up to Mike and John you have no problems with Derek Carr. Derek Carr is I love Jerick card number one Derek Carr. I'm his biggest fan. But I'm also his biggest critic and that that's the life that you live in the national football league when you have a quarterback that's the guy that's usually everybody's looking at. He's the guy that touch the ball on the play. Oh Yeah and so if you you have to look at the six years. That Derek's played with the raiders. And understand that he's had like three three different head coaches right for giving coordinators and everything else. This is the first time that it'll be third year with the same head coach and coordinator. Okay so that's one aspect of it the continuity and learning of the system and secondly the rest of the team around and you have to understand those things too so you know at times you might WanNa just ring. Somebody's neck but you also have to understand the circumstances right but as we know. The raiders have have the high standard over the over years ideas to win the Super Bowl. That's avenue that's really the stats. Don't matter none of those things matter. It's wins and losses right and have you taken this to the promised. Land Right Right. The sign has been. Put up on your stadium. Now Lujan Stadium. We're getting now the visual the look at what. It's going to be two people who live in Las Vegas and around the League. What about the allegiance? Stadium is going to set up a part. Set it apart from other stadia around the country. What do you think is going to be signature? Galvanizing cool is the fans in the ground. Swell have come up with the name. The death star Star Wars and. It's just a name that fits the Raider Mystique and everything else. I love it and the buildings really magnificent and it's going to be it'll stand out people when they say they'll know where it is and what it is and it's going to be an iconic building right. Is there any plan to showcase the stadium itself during the draft coverage? I'm sure I'm sure they'll show it again. I'm not in charge of that Has To football league and right and the how do you factor into that? Did they notify you of what the plans are? And where you're supposed to be you're going to be well. I'm not even sure I'll be here in Las Vegas for for a good part of it. I might try to be here for the first pick. That the raiders make But I'll be probably up in Oakland in the war room up there unless John Decides to move the war room down here okay. Johnson is where the where the nerve center is going to be. It might be. That would be John and Mike again making the hostages. The first pick is going to be important not only because of his prominence on the team. But he's going to be going to model the the raider gear. Yeah the vert under for been waiting for a time for las biggest reiter nice and it's just been my feeling that I'd like to do it in a I don't know a unique way so I decided that the first player drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders. In the first round is going to be the first one to put on that fully. Licensed Hat Raider Hat. Las Vegas Raider hat band. So that'd be pretty cool that will be cool and the gates will be opened for Las Vegas Writer merchandised episode. Podcasts will be right back. Have a name and what is behind. It just had the same haircut for last twenty years thirty years air. That's shorter shorter. That's my real deal. What's the story behind it? It's GONNA cut. "And welcome back to muses live from Las Vegas. You just pointed out hoppy March first happy March. First we have transitioned. We have left the most depressing month of the year behind. Yeah I'm really happy about that. Feburary is not ever my favorite month. It's just brutal. So what a way to celebrate tubes such a bright and Sunny Day. Perfect PERFECT MORNING. Here really yeah. I crashed hard last night. I was asleep before many women even left the house to go back to your hotel. I came over. You're like can I just like Cinderella exit here Irish goodbye goodbye. Yeah I did say I tap if you will say lineup ahead but yeah. I was one of those nights where you're asleep within five minutes of your head hitting the pillow. So I had an excellent sleep. I slept through the night. It was really restful and I just ain't drank tea last night. So at the writing work really. I drink tea and water all night but tonight I'm going to have some wine. I definitely drink all the wine. Some white claws so I didn't even know what a white cloth was until you haven't lived until you know what do I don't throw away cloudy tonight. Yes we spent the morning by the pool. We've made a couple of pots of coffee. You've had your breakfast. Adds nice just getting reenergized because last night was the writing group but today we're having it in the afternoon so yep so at around six o'clock all of the women arrived. Yesterday there was thirty of us. Let's say imagine that thirty women all in one room it was just like sight to behold now to see everybody it not just to see it but to be in that room like the energy is just unbelievable. It's like so positive. It's so special you really do feel connected to everyone. Even if you haven't had a single conversation was someone in there at the other side of the room after they read your you feel connected to them absolutely no them so the way. That pamelas writing workshops go is that everybody sits in what kind of looks like a circle and then even sometimes because there's so many women than there's an inner circle where there's a second circle of women kind of sitting on the floor now down by this definitely happened I think we'll probably all choose different seats tonight. The Act Yeah it'd be fun to Macau generally works. Yes beside someone different. Get a different VIBE. Talk to different people. Yeah and this one went a little bit differently. But we'll tell you how it goes normally and then we can tell you how we mixed it up which was actually brilliant. Yet you unexplained okay. Well usually what happens is Miss Pamela? Gives you a prompt? So what was the first prompt for the first primed and I will tell everybody what it is right here is. What would you say to your thirteen year old self? Yes so then. We get about twelve to minutes to write. Whatever comes into your head the rules. Are you just supposed to write it down? No scribbling out anything just kind of free flow. Whatever is in your mind you put down on paper and then after twelve minutes. Pamela says all right that's enough and then normally everybody puts their pens down. Everybody closes our laptops. And you're fully present listening to the speaker. Yes so you go around the room and each read your piece now because it was thirty people at this convention. We couldn't all read every prompting that we wrote so we got split into half's so the first group was we. Have these really cool name tags that almost like a backstage pass? Yes and they have one of each of her books on it. I'm with the band taken piece. My heart let spend the night together and let it bleed so the first two books read the first prompt and then the second two books read our second prompt. So yeah it and so everybody was still listening to everyone. As opposed to being split up into different rooms of the house. Everybody was still altogether and the second prompt was. I won't get fooled again. Yes and they were brilliant. There's a lot of like laughing. There's a lot of crying. There's a lot of yelling because people get really passionate about these things. So what ended up happening was I really liked my first prompt and it was something that I've been kind of meaning to write about in as I said to you like I've wanted to go a little bit deeper into a. I don't know just my just go deeper. Just go deep going to go deeper and I was disappointed not as appointed by the second prompt. It just the second. Prompt didn't speak to as much as what I would have said to my thirteen year. Old Self Yeah so what ended up happening. Which was kind of a blessing was. I wasn't in the first group so I wasn't supposed to read my first prom and it was a little bit disappointed on that because I knew it would have been really Cathartic and healing experience to read that everybody and then what ended up happening because we were the second group I think it was Ellen Orlando. They kind of said well. Can we choose the second group? Choose between the first and the second and it ended up. Yeah you can so then. For the third round the first group then could choose between the last prompt and a second prompt. So that's if that sounds confusing. Don't worry about it but everybody ended up getting a choice. Everybody could kind of read what they wanted to read. What stood out to them? The what they were most proud of. Yes so it was really. It was really Cathartic and I was able to read that for everybody and then you read. I read won't give world again and it was awesome. It was short. It was something I needed to. Just get out of my system so put that out there and you know when you when you read to like a group of women like that. It was like something that I need to do that. If I keep it to myself maybe I'll like slide back into bad behavior Like if I announce us to a room full of incredible women. There's no turning back. I have to do what I'm saying I'm going to do so. That was just like another way to ensure that I'm going to move forward so wonderful. Yeah I loved it and then what we've got going on for today is we're going to do our writing workshop in just a couple of hours here so we're going to get ready for that but after the writing workshop were all having dinner here at the House. Yeah so Jenny. Who's amazing is gone to get the groceries. And then when she gets back to help her prep as much as she needs you know like cutting and everything so by the time the writing workshop is over we don't have to start cutting the veggies and the cooking the meat and everything it'll more just be kind of a warm up and it's a great idea. We're GONNA have tacos because with people who are vegan vegetarian gluten free dietary restrictions. You can kind of cover your bases with Kind of serve yourself Taco barnes perfect. Oh I also WANNA mention if you haven't come to one of these events yet And you know you're hearing all this and you're like this sounds so exciting one other really fun thing that happened. After you went to bed I was still a couple of the other dolls. Were up and I got to sit around and listen to some incredible groupies stories. These women are just amazing and all of them could be like guests on the podcast and they have wish we could tell you yes. I'm not GonNa but we can't. We can't know like it's not our story exact to Valley but oh my God. Do we ever want to a couple of them. Said that if as long as we go visit them in their in their. We'RE GONNA. We'll talk to them a for sure but Yeah just saying like you're gonNA find incredible women here and you filling me in on. Like she was like a groupie she grouping with this baby. Yeah this guy and it was like. Oh my God I had no idea. I've known her for a few years now. Had No idea what I'm not surprised. No and I'm sure she has more incredible stories. I was just what we can tackle last night. But Yeah it's so much fun talking to these women and you know you. Pour your soul out with the prompts. And then after like when you're hanging out you get to gossip and tell yourself each other funds stories you know. That was a fun way to end the night. Yes so tonight. After the dinner we are all going to go to a tiki room. We're GONNA do one more night out in Vegas and I'll just let you know what the last writing prompt was. So you're welcome to do this at home. If you can take the writing prompts you set a timer for twelve minutes and you will be surprised at what comes out. In twelve minutes everybody can write. Everybody can be a writer. Everybody you can get you know chapters from your book out of this thing so the third prompt was a time. I did not listen to my inner voice or my higher self or my conscience. Yeah those are good one. I love that one too. They were all great. Yeah I'm excited to see we're going to write about today. Yeah and so. We'll check in with you one time we'll let you know how the rest of our evening in Vegas goes with the writing prompts. Were and then. It's part two of the travel podcast series. Which will be La going to California all right guys? We'll check in with you soon. She played another vegas tune. Let's do you think there are enough out there. Oh yeah we got this Welcome to the final part of muses love from Las Vegas. We've Las Vegas. This has been such an incredible two days so upsetting that. It's so short like I want to do a week. Long Retreat Miss Pamela Palooza. It's that would be like heaven because a truly is too short a time. I was talking to some of the dolls this evening. And we were saying how we all need to just like pool our money and just by a big dollhouse and that way we can all just live there and Jim viewed and I can picture like Jenny in the morning doing yoga for everyone. And then you know a couple of as you know making breakfast recording booth exactly like we all pitch in where we can a pool obviously must have exactly like that's my dream and then if you don't WanNa live there you don't have to. You can come visit for the writing classes. Yeah sounds like a good to me. I mean what's more heavenly than a dollhouse? Speaking of let's recap night. Two of our writing workshop. Yes so when we left off we were just getting ready for everyone to start arriving before everyone did. Jenny was already busy at work. China fix up prepping heading the veggies and getting everything ready for the tacos which ended up being. I'm skipping ahead but spoiler alert. They were delicious and she made okay. We'll talk about that in a minute so we were lucky enough to already be at the at the house That's where we stayed so everyone started coming in. Mississippi came in early..

My Dad had season tickets originally born and raised San Francisco and we still go with my family and we always sat in the nose bleed seats way in the back. Never imagined I would sing the anthem Candlestick Park. Until Twenty twelve and my dad was right on the sidelines. I mean you should've seen his face. He got so choked. Detroit wasn't it was cavernous first home game as a starter. I think maybe not. I think it was Alex. We're thinking of different. Did you do to out just one? But I've done other. Is this the one where you want a right to sing? Yes it was not an addition idle setting. Yes and when I won I was this little girl she took of Iran. You're going like this. And she's in years to come credible about that is they. Didn't just come into Las Vegas and find a Fantasy Square. A whole hundreds of people hundreds of people singers but I got the home opener which is amazing and got to watch the game up in the box seats and we won. That Bergman here had a big party at the end. My step brothers and sisters. Everybody was there it was. I wish I could go back and do it all over again. That was my all time favorite in them. You're from San Francisco. And how did you get to Las Vegas in the first place? Tell us that Odyssey man who was like a movie Selena it's more like maid in Manhattan but graduate from High School. My mother comes from Mexico. You know that. And that's why we make jokes papers papers. I graduated from high school following my mother's footsteps. She's always been a housekeeper she worked but off taking good care of us and so did my dad and I thought I would do what she did and made more money than working in a mall. Honestly I'd work nine to five or does your mother work well. When I was a baby she worked in a factory right cleaning kind of bullying road all sheets in hot atmosphere sweating. Busting her butt off. Yeah she my dad my Stepdad. Who's my father amazing he? They both worked their butts just to support us. But we're not out of high school. I decided to join her. In the workforce at the nursing home. She was cleaning at so. Okay a convalescent home. That's where I started singing on the site upstairs for the elderly and it was the first audience. How much is that Doggie in the window? When the lady it was. Just that's all I knew. I never thought I'd be whole different. Rooms did seven. Am to three thirty. Now it's the opposite. Did it for about five years. And then after that I became I worked in the financial district. I had the whole business. I know right crazy answer. Phone Calls Leah Turns News Married Man. Yeah I did that and I was content. My I was happy. I didn't know any difference until I went on vacation. Which most people know? The story went on vacation on a cruise ship When my parents and entered a talent show yes next thing. You know. It's history. I get a tap on my shoulder. Cruise director offered me a job pretty much six months later get crews on that cruise. I didn't do that ship. But what did you sing talent? Contests remember the song of songs. I did crazy love and Patrick Lane. Crazy natural woman. Okay Wow yeah got me. The big one was fine until I. You know I was over right when you say it went right when you started singing in front of people do have the people shy. Don't swear I just had a couple of glasses of wine in but go so you know. I wasn't shy at the time and then next dino I was ready to go back come to my office job until very happy at I was good at it. Filing you need one was like office. This assistant yeah did a lot of fun. So you're GONNA TRANSAMERICA building was wrong. It was actually I used to drop off packages messenger on the site of a thing. You know my briefcase just totally out. It was financial one. Oh One California street yeah in the Middle Right there but when I did the crucial thing I knew that's what I wanted to do. I wanted to be out at sea and travel because traveling and singing was my thing so I got a job offer. I got a call at my desk. Carnival cruise lines calling Sunday like NPR. And six months later I they throw me a going away party at the office. All tropical theme Hawaiian Leis and it was so sweet and thought I'd do it for six months. I said mom I'll be back. Don't worry it's just one contract okay. She missed me and NOPE did it. For three hundred. You have an idea that you'd be that would be part of your life and still stay in San Francisco and I'd go out once in a while. Fear part of it was well I succeed his never had any experience. Just did bans on the side and we know a lot of people out and it never worked on the ships. Still you know just for whatever reason so I'll never worked. Hasn't you know they they go out. And it's like whatever that didn't fit in others. I got paid to be on vacation and sing a couple of shows a week. I mean it did help that. I had my own cabin a lot of them. Don't get that but had no porthole. I mean I was okay.

"Do didn't make sense. I think the marketing emphasis of a change more than the actual amenities there were so the. Mgm Grand Theme Park Went Away. That was a big one but we have a lot of stuff. There's still a lot going on for kids in Las Vegas. That we don't necessarily mark with what we don't show they. Don't show the waterpark NATO. But there's a lot there's a lot going on. It's not part of our marketing campaign. And when people gear they tend to be like. Wow there's a lot of stuff for I think that's a choice that was made for whatever the reason I mean. I don't. I'm not a researcher but I do know that To try to bend this city to say it's a family down didn't work it didn't work didn't quite ring true. It didn't it didn't feel it was an authentic. It's all about that now. Let's just be who we are? Let's say what we're going to say and be genuine whether it's in show business meaning whatever you doing. Well let's I have one more Thing I want to touch on how you? I'm a huge Beatles. Fan Thank you okay. And you were on stage with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr some years ago saying hey jude. Hollywood Bowl K. Wow let's just let's yeah. That's part of the quiz to how did that happen. When was it? What was the environment? Because it's so it's amazing when you tell the story it sounds like I just walked up there with Paula Ringa. That's not exactly Russia stage. I did not rush but more importantly it wasn't just me. It's super you know. Hi I'm always trying to be honest about this stuff so that doesn't exaggerate. It was a lot of entertainers now. We were all part of Earth Day and so there were different acts. We had Kenny loggins. Katie laying it was in the ninety S. ten thousand maniacs. Don Unleash was ninety. Three's on I think it was ninety. Three Steve Miller all these different bands. I was with a band. Called P M dawn and we were the babies of the group so we went I at the show. I started and You know like early in the afternoon. It's one of those all day things they used to do. They still do these. I mean I hear they do anything anymore. Dr Daisy Kern. What's that other one helps? Beautiful like that stuff. Okay anyway so what happened was being short when you're in a big massive crowd. It's easy to get sort of pushed and slush and so when Paul invited all of us. Paul McCartney was the Anchor Act and it was his thing and when he invited us all to come back on stage I got pushed to the front with P M Dawn. So that's how I ended up standing next to him and then Ringo. I don't even know where he came from but he came like on. My left and Paul was singing. The hey jude thing. And he I had talked to him for about fifteen minutes at soundcheck so I was still trying to recover from that conversation because he actually called me over and he said hello. Love how you dotted on and I'm just trying to be normal but inside them like Paul Gurney am he. He wanted to talk to me about our music. Because Paul's Kinda like Tony Bennett. Where he wants to know what's up now like what's current and He's not one of those well back in my day. Like he's always got his open for what's on and we were the thing that we you know current group so he was talking about that and he said that when the last time he had played the Hollywood. I wasn't born yet so I got all defensive and said yes I was and we got into this thing and he proved to me. I wasn't and it was just funny and cool. And then he said Yeah Sixteen. It was sixty sixty five played there in nineteen sixty five. I know it was. It was something about nine to sixty three. Because I know because I wasn't born yet so whatever he was talking about. 'cause we had a whole discussion about it. I said. Oh you're right. And he so long story way too long. Make it shorter. Is that at the end of the show. He called us all back. I ended up at the front and for some reason he just took my hand and when we got to the Non Anez and Ringo was over here talking about how. He didn't WanNa sing because he had just had dental surgery and wasn't feeling well. And I'm hearing them talking about that in front of all those owned wrinkled talking I can't sing. I had surgery in Paul's singing and he takes my hand in the other background singers ham. And he's like okay and this is all happening live at the Hollywood bowl and then he took my hand and then we started doing the nominees and then he left the Mike and went away and there was an open. Mike and I just started ad-libbing and then it turned into a thing. And that's how I ended up singing the wailing ad-lib St Jude with Paul. That's amazing. Wow Center the universe stuff. You're my hero all right well. Let's remind people where they can see you next three. Pm February February twenty third. It's a Sunday afternoon. Mirus cabaret jazz saying Cova Cosa. "Enjoyed that part of it too. When you Kinda go off the script it can be challenging? But it's also that the little high gives you a little higher like okay. We're going to go with this. And how are we going to do. And then you're really proud of it when you're finished and you feel like you really you know got information you got all the information out there but I mean I think things are going to absent streaming and twitter and facebook and instagram. And it's it's just gotTa be everywhere now so you need need to have teams in a newsroom. That do all those things now. I see you watch a lot of cable news. You know in my life and when when it usually when I'm writing it's on at at my place and I see you sometimes we'll watch like CNN anchors in the afternoon into the evening Brianna Keller's and those those types of people. WH Why wouldn't you be interested or in place to be one of them. Have you ever looked into that. That area ever investigated a national platform like that because it seems like it would very well suited for that type of role. Yeah thank you I mean I don't know I guess I feel like Erin Burnett. I mean sometimes it's funny you get into. I moved around a lot in New York state three different markets and it was two years here two years there. Pack up the car and then when you move to learn all you know everything about it and you make your friend then you move began you move again. You move again when I moved out here a lot of be another two years and then I love the community. In at the time when I was at channel I kept kind of getting promoted through the different positions. It just happened that way and I was happy. I just thought well I met a lot of great. People are really like this town. I'm seeing and so I kind of made my way and I felt like my contact list and my knowledge of this town I invested so much in it and you know loved the people that I just thought. Well I like it here. I think I wanNA stay and I guess I I. I don't know I don't want to say. I don't think I'm good enough because I have confidence in myself but I don't know if packing everything up and moving to to New York City and being on CNN is me. I don't know and so I haven't pushed it and I also thought I probably need another another big market under my belt before I can get there you know and that would take you know moving from Las Vegas to Philly Boston. You know what L. A.. And then going from there so I always thought I kinda like it here and I've never been that person that really how fantasize about I need to be on TV. I just need to have a voice and connect with people and I think that's why you've noticed that I take on the twitter Role I like. I've always answered people and answering messages ages and I and that's another thing that was a lot of pressures you're getting story ideas and you're getting all sorts of things. Direct message tweets people complimenting his people wanting more information and you gotta take the time to answer all those. And I'm a person who answers. I just really feel like I don't like to ignore people so connecting in that way so I don't know why I never have tried try to. I just thought I like it here and you want to stay. I've invested. Yeah I do WANNA stay here. I always say unless there wasn't a credible amazing opportunity -tunities that I couldn't pass up you know. There are few cities big cities that I would go to that. I know if I'd have to know some people in there. I just don't want to start all over. I felt felt like I started all over so many times. That even in Las Vegas No I mean like just before that always starting over new making new friends finding my way learning the town and I was just I was tired of it and I just felt like I'm happy here. What are what are your options? What are you wearing right now? There's much you can say I'm looking. I'd like to say that I'm looking harder than I am because I am looking but I am enjoying the downtown but You know I have talked to a lot of different but I'm thinking I I'm thinking outside of TV and Exploring exploring those options. Because I've never thought about it and I thought maybe it's time and I thought well you know the way that things are going and changing. I think I need to maybe get some other experience under my belt but that uses uses the skills that I have however it is difficult to. What's on paper? You GotTa get in front of people to. It's an interesting thing to explain. When you're a news anchor like if I were to say that they wouldn't know half the things that I did it would know you're a mentor? You help lead the meetings in the morning. You're coming up with contel tally. You're checking facts. Are doing all these different things you know. And and so it's getting that out there going. What what where does that come into play for another type of position? Where would I be good and so I'm trying to figure that all out I I've been thinking a lot about you know like digital marketing and that kind of thing because you like you said I do love the online stuff and sometimes I'm like even to my friends ends in all sorts of businesses in town? Mike you're not doing this or you need. You should do this and then and then I get a thank you after like thanks for that really worked we we you know we sold this many more tickets or hey we've got this many more phone calls and I thought I should be making money doing that but I want to be in media. Maybe some journalism is a marketing. And I've I'm trying to figure that out what I'm doing a lot of researching and figuring out what I don't WanNa do what does that. What does that entail well? But don't you want to do well. I just feel like I don't know I know that I don't know if I don't want to say because I feel like cool. What if something came up and she said she didn't want to do that so I just I don't know there's certain things and I'm like well maybe I would like to? You know what I feel like. It's it's for sure as I really love Las Vegas and I enjoy talking about Las Vegas in away selling Las Vegas Telling People Las Vegas and I don't know if I really want to belong or be part of like one thing that I can only talk about that because there are restrictions when you work for companies and so I don't Wanna I don't WanNA quiet my voice. I guess that's what I'm trying to say about my love of the town and the things in the experience gained in the people I know in the things that I know about still Wanna be able to talk about all those things so I guess I don't really WanNa position that's like you know it worked for this. This and we live breathe in this and you gotTa talk about this and you gotta always tweet about this and I don't want that right now that you've had you've had An you've been here for a while. Now they've had some downtime. What have you been doing would have some of the highlights of the of viewing experiencing the city? There could be a way to get an idea of that process. "Winston Cup series coming your way live on motor racing network from Las Vegas Nevada this afternoon the second running of the Las Vegas four hundred. I'm Allan Beswick along with Barney Hall Joe Moore and Dan Hubbard covered the corners today. Jim Phillips Winston Kellyanne Marty Schneider in the pit garage areas. We're under the second caution of the race came out for debris in the back straightaway at lap number one hundred and one also far. It's kind of lived up to its billing. All the drivers that we talked to in the team said this would be a much much better race than we saw the first time the guys came here because they they didn't really know the track that well and indeed it has panned out that we've seen some of the best racing. We've seen of the three this season. This has been a dandy race so far today and we'll hope it continues here is the teams all I'll have the fresh good years on and they're loaded up and ready to go for another segment before we get back to the green flag. Let's say hello to greg driver. The Grainger Ford F one fifty in the NASCAR craftsman truck series who stepped into the booth with this. I know you've been chomping at the bit to go back racing. You're going to get the chance to do that here. In just a couple of weeks on March twentieth down at Homestead Y'all set and ready to go yeah. We're all set ready to go with the time off wasn't wasn't too bad until Daytona started and all the races going on and in Rockingham so now I'm really chomping at the bit and just can't wait to get started. We tested earlier and and had a good test and just real excited to get going. The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN truck series tends to provide some rather exciting racing for folks that don't follow it every week you guys don't hold anything back. You lay defenders on each other. It really is kind of hard nose competition. Is it that way because of the way the trucks are designed or or is that just the way you guys race. I think it's just the way that they are a little both the way they're designed way. The race in Nascar's portrayed is a tough trucks and I'll tell you it is it's it's a door to door race in the have flat sides so they're a little bit more contact and we're known for a little more short track race than it is a really tough series the competition addition levels just has gotten so tough. You're were a rookie last season your first year driving for the rash team the biggest lesson you learned last year. That's prepared you to win this year. I think the biggest lesson is going to be that. We've been all the race tracks showing up every week to a new facility and not ever or getting a chance and now now we got one years notes on all the tracks and we'll be able to come back and and have a baseline to start with what we did last year and then be able to build on that. I know you'd like to open when the season with a victory down at homestead will wish you the best of luck not only there but the rest of the year appreciate your being here. Las Vegas this weekend. Thanks for having me on Greg biff driver the Grainger Ford F one fifty in the NASCAR craftsman truck series for Rosh racing homestead-florida season opener for the truck series Saturday the twentieth of March tickets available for the homestead four hundred give the folks down there at homestead Miami speedway or a call and of course motoracing network with live coverage of all the truck series races during the nineteen ninety nine season. We'll look forward to bringing them to you. It's going to be a good year for the truck truck series. I think they go into a couple of different tracks and there's some great talent over in the truck series kind of look forward to get the season underway well. We're about to get this when back underway here at Las Vegas. Guess Motor speedway one hundred six laps around the board the fields just given the indication go ahead and form for a double file restart. We're going to give you the green when you come back this time off Turner before so. Let's take you back through the top ten or twelve year. Ward Burton made a great pitstop. Amona Goa comes back out and hangs onto the lead again. Jerry Mayfield comes out second bob in the body is third if they can get a couple of adjustments on Bobby's car. He's had a strong car but it's been pushing up a little bit with him coming out of turn number four and it just about every position he's lost. He's had it happened to him right up. There will be interesting thing to see how well he runs here when they put them back under. Green Jeff Burton will lineup forth on this restart. Bill Eliot v Kenny Irwin will be six Mark Martin Seventh Eighth John and ready ninth it will be Ernie Urban Dale Jarrett Tenth Geoffrey Bodine Eleventh Jeff Gordon's back to twelve Rusty Wallace thirteenth turned Amani Fourteenth Mike Skinner makeup. Your top fifteen pace car peels off off the banking up in turnover four moves down pit road double file restart as they come down the line. Believe Kenny Wallace going to be the first car lap down up there to try and get himself back on the tail end of the lead laugh lap green flag goes into the air and Ward Burton wastes no time and trying to pull away from the fields you everybody feels goes with him and none of those lap cars going to have a chance to get a lap back here. They're water front to break away. Ward Burton Jeremy Mayfield that Bobby Labonte third-place man. He's gotTa deal with the traffic. I going after Steve Park your number two just to the high side of the racetrack. Jerry Naidoo now fills the spot dental the inside of him dropping the hammer down the backstretch is ward Burton in the lead Jeremy Mayfield hanging onto his rear bumper but bobby labonte only got caught behind the lap traffic. There's two cars between himself and second spy as they come streaming off the corner down to the stripe back for about six position. Here's Kenny Irwin Donna the inside of Bill Elliott get Mark Martin. Try to see what lanes going to open up there. They crossed the stripe and head back for one or when an elliott racing side by side. Something's gotTa give there's traffic just ahead. Brett Bodine occupies the inside outside lane. Elliott's got the favorite to the outside way up against the outside wall gets knows that in front of Kenny Irwin this is the fight for fifth between Irwin and Bill Elliott and Kenny Irwin will a win that race to turn three meanwhile Bobby Labonte has cleared the lab traffic and we'll try to making a three-car tool for the lead bobby scrambles out of that lap traffic back there has nothing but daylight between wait himself on the front too right now if he's got the stuff to get up there and race with them good scramble a little further back in the pack Jeff Burton trying to work his way out of some of that traffic back there and get up there to make it a four away. Battle urge got a couple of cars just in front of him both of those lapd machines erasing side-by-side. Jerry Day two and Kenny Wallace Burton squeezes through the inside and try to clear them. Yeah Jeff Burton got his work cut out for him the three lap cars in front of him before he can even have a shot at Bobby Labonte. He'll pick them off one at a time Jeff Burton down to the low side now they do pick them off as you come off. Turn four mentioned that Johnny Benson is come back out of the garage area and rejoined the race after the accident lap number eight. He's running some ninety laps behind the leaders who go back to turn number one. They have a race for the lead. Jeremy Mayfield snakes rear deck of Ward Burton both right down on the white line at the bottom of the tracking return to Mayfield following the tire tracks of Ward Burton not get Stephanie to strike to car breakaway for the top spot down the backstretch Ward Burton and the lead Jeremy Mayfield right there now Bobby Labonte begins to close does the gap from the third position but warden is still your leader good race for the lead you WanNa watch that for a lap or so and then you want to look back in the field and watch some of those cars that are Kinda boxed in with lap traffic. Try and get back up there also for the moment the battle for the lead about a half a car link between one and two zeal knows the tail between Ward Burton leading Jeremy Mayfield the second place man further back race shaping up for the fourth spot as Jeff Burton is struggling to get by the lap traffic. Kenny Irwin has caught him. Jeff Burton had to dive down low off of turn two again trying to clear Kenny Wallace that allowed Kenny or went to close the gap from fifth so it is Burton in Fourth Irwin right on his bumper Mark Martin trying to make it a three-car fight and just behind them bill Elliott John Andretti and Ernie a Europe all stacked up in traffic with Dale Jarrett not far behind hundred twelve laps complete of to sixty seven in the Las Vegas Four Hundred Ward Burton is the man out in front for now at Las Vegas Motor speedway the pit strategy beginning to be played out second-place Rutter Jeff Gordon and third place runner Warburton drop off the track onto pit road at lap one eight three go to Winston Kelly Rainbow Warrior's now all the way around to the left side of the car. It's very smooth pitstop is Joe Nemechek. Prepares has to come up behind his a four tire. Stop for the Caterpillar. PONTIAC IS JEFF. Gordon is down West Sixteen point six three seconds well. That's good to stop as we've seen in a while at had wartburg now four tires and gasoline. He's finished his service. Tony Store who spent some time behind the wall completes historic the pit born out now four Bobby Labonte and Jeremy Mayfield now Wilson Mobil one four to the attention of Paul Andrews in the crew. They go to work on the right side of that. Fort looks like it's going to be a routine four tire stop. I don't see any chassis adjustment thus far here he owns the leader. Jeff Burton off of pit road coming down for his service. It'll be lap number one hundred eighty five and it should the top spot over to mark Martin remember. He was one of those that made the later pitstop Martin in about twenty lap twelve laps rather later than Jeff Burton was to pit lane brought brought to you by the McDonald's drive through to cover the Jeff Burton. Stop Your Cup Jeffords and they go to work go to right. Todd had a little bit of problem today make you the pitstops just cost him a couple of spots or two but this time they're trying to make this one the spot of the day the cover the left side the Jack goes underneath. They changed the left side tires second kid of seventy six going on breaking started on the front tire getting it done eighteen seconds on the stop for Jeff Burton could stop for Marty Schneider Attorney urban was in he was a little bit tight turn in the middle of the corner he said nineteen point nine four seconds and the minute track for adjustment on urban scar Mark Doc Martin is now the race leader over Dale Earnhardt Dale Jarrett Mike Skinner and Jeffrey vote. I'm we pause ten seconds for station identification on M. R. N. radio the Voice of Nascar racing. It's the Las Vegas four hundred for the Nascar Winston Cup series live on motor racing network glad that you've joined Sal Invest Work here with Barney Hall Joe Warren Dan Hubbard in in the quarter. Jim Phillips Winston Kelly and Marty Schneider the pit garage areas. What's going on right now. It's a little pit strategy. Shuffling up field Mark Martin has taken over the lead over Dale Dale Earnhardt Dale Jarrett Mike Skinner Jeffrey Boat. I and Terry the body Wally Dal and back John Andretti and showed little along with Ken schrader make up the rest of the top ten spots sterling marlins eleventh and Kevin the pages twelve those drivers all pitted about ten laps later than the front runners who just made green flag stops those being Jeff Burton and Jeff Gordon primarily. They come off of pit road right now in a kind of precarious position. They're a lap down to the race leader's until the rest of the make their stops which if a caution flag we're out turn this whole event upside down for those team. There's a bunch of guys out there right now. The last thing in the world they wanna see you would be a yellow flag some pretty good packs of traffic getting off a close to bumping each other just watching him. Go around the track here a couple of moments ago. Dale Jarrett was locked up in one of those heading over to turn three down. That's right. He's been dealing with Dale Earnhardt all afternoon. At least for the last fifty or sixty laps earnhardt has moved himself up to second spot right now of course he has yet to Pitt but he's doing it using less racetrack than anybody else. Now we're watching Mark Martin Dale Earnhardt. We heard from the EARNHARDT crew a couple of minutes ago that they plan to try and go the race on just one more stop which will probably come up in the next ten to twelve laps. Were so what about Mark Martin steamed. We think they can go the distance on just the one more stop after they pitted at lap one thirty two but some of the other front runners stayed out. Jim Phillips has been following up on that story for US Jim..

It's now setting their forty five mile. An hour speed behind the Chevrolet pace car what the fans out here are very very enthusiastic about Winston Cup racing yesterday when they were here for Bushkov race. We saw probably seventy five thousand turn out for that show yesterday afternoon. I think almost to a man and a woman and a child they all stayed until that checkered flag fell even stayed around and watch happy our practice as the cup cars go by right now. They're standing up and kind of waving to all their favorite drivers as they go here this afternoon. What two laps three laps be a total of three parade laps so they'll come by a couple more times before they get the green flag and get cut loose right. Now is the field works. Its way back into turn number one and two again on the pace. San Parade laps this Las Vegas Motor speedway a mile and a half around very very wide race track very smooth transitions from corner to straightaway both in terms of if the degree of banking and the radius turn. You never really have to pinch the car down very hard to get it into or out of the quarter. That's one of the reasons why the drivers like it so much is they've got a lot of running room and a lot of racetrack to work with steak swing around the race track now calling the voices who bring you the action from the turns today down and turns one and two for motor racing network. Today's Hampton Virginia is job. Thanks good afternoon everyone. I'm located on top of a billboard about fifty feet up in the air with a great view of turns one and two here at the Las Vegas Motor speedway as you mentioned it's flat and it's very wide the corners here at Las Vegas therefore premium on handling and it'll be easy to see from my position here as the race goes on WHO's handling and who's not those who are handling. We'll be right down at the bottom of the race track sticking. They're really getting a good bite off. Turn number to those not handling pushing up a little bit and therefore scrubbing off speed lead and falling back of course we'll see a lot of changes as a race goes on and tires go away and changes were made to the setups of the cars also here at turned number two the exit exit to the pit lane it parallels the racing surface and then empties back into the traffic lane about halfway down the back straightaway should be pretty exciting. We saw all the great moves here yesterday of the Nascar Busch series race the SAM's Sam's town three hundred. Probably we'll see a lot of that for you here today as well interns one to feel coming down the line one more lap and they will cut loose. Let's take a swing up three and four were Dan Hubbard. We'll cover the action for us this afternoon. Dan There's a lot of discussion of what part of California you're from. Where are you from Rent Cucamonga. It's also referred to as out Aloma. It's about ten minutes North North Fontana California speedway but thank you Bonnie and good afternoon everybody I'm on a rooftop about twenty feet in the air with an excellent view the backstretch and turns three and four even a good view of the Las Vegas Strip in the distance but a lot of gambling go on right here is the driver's reach speeds in excess of one hundred and eighty miles an hour down the backstretch. Then is a quick DAB at the brakes and a feathering of the gas pedal the cars negotiate the twelfth degree banking of turns three and four now. There's plenty of rubber lay down from yesterday's Busch series event so two lanes of racing are easily available. I'll cover ever everybody's action as the drivers place their bets at turns three and four of the Las Vegas Motor speedway that oboe five from Winston Grabs here this afternoon Jeff Gordon Dale Earnhardt Kenny any European Mike Skinner and Michael Waltrip top five finishers in the Daytona five hundred if one of those drivers wins the event today they'll add a million dollar bonus from Winston on top of the three eight hundred eighteen thousand dollar winner's share the afternoon one of five race fans assigned to each goes drivers through a sweepstakes will also become a millionaire here today so that is on the line within in the confines of what's already a high stakes Nascar Winston Cup series event field heading for turn number three now on their final pace lap before they cut him loose two hundred sixty seven laps the distance today four hundred miles fuel range somewhere between sixty five and seventy laps will not be an issue as far as tire where is concerned goodyear tire here for this racetrack as always and they'll be able to go very easily a full fuel window though this is one of those types speedways where fuel mileage could play a big role in the outcome. If if we don't see a lot of caution flags pace car heads for pit road off of turn number four it's Bobby Labonte and Michael Waltrip in command of the field now is this huge crowd comes to its feet ready to start the second running of the Las Vegas four hundred there are about a thousand feet away from the start finish line looking for the green flag again Bobby Labonte Michael Waltrip Joe Nemechek and Tom Hubert up for the first two rows green flag goes in the air in the Las Vegas. Oh there's contact made look like Gordon might have gotten in the back when but everybody gains control off of turn four Dale Jarrett. It looked like he got kind of bumped. A little bit also has to back out of it for just a second. He's three wide back there with John. Andretti that's from about eight position on back that scrambles still very hot and turn one nice look at Traffic Chiampou without the eleventh spot on back right in the middle of a cherry native who gives the bank matter fact comes out of the throttle Beaumont. Barely they're stacked up three wide three rows behind. I tabled a pack straightaway. Dale Jarrett might be having a problem because it's just moving backwards in the middle of the pack. They're passing them on the low side and the high side Rick Mascots by Jeff Burton gets by so Tudoz who does Terry Labonte Dale Jarrett now could lose his spot as Bill Elliott goes up to his outside there four wide behind him coming off the corner this for about the eighteenth spot Ward Burton Rich Bickel Tony Tony Stewart and Kevin Lepage Derek Cope is also right there. Hey goes wide coming into the corner. Let's see this is. GonNa stick into turn to he. Still there while tailed carrot works down low. Tony Stewart breaks loose sight of Goes Ward Gordon. Everybody recovers it continues drag races on down the backstretch between Kevin the page and Dale Jarrett jared although he you might have a problem is refusing to give up positions but page will pass them easily to the outside of turn. Four kindergartens got his hands full right now Jeff Gordon's on the move also that'll be for seventh place. Jonathan readies in the mix so is Tom Hubert and so is wally Donna back those five cars work back to turn one makes the past gets by right behind. Wally Donald Back now dealing with Tom Hubert trying into clear him he will bark Martin next at mine and he calls to the inside of the race track races for a moment with Hubert now passive on the backstretch single file down the backstretch Kenny Irwin just in front of Jeff Gordon to Carling's back to Jeff John Andretti now one car link back to wally back here. Gordon look into the inside of kinnear where we pause ten seconds seconds for station identification on M. R. "Its place pretty much designed for great racing well. It's kind of like Talladega was built for speed. This race track doc was built for two and three wide racing. Dale Jarrett probably hit the nail right on the head there when you're talking to him you're open that they have a year under their belt. They have a race under their belt here plus. A lot of the guys is have run the Busch races on Saturday so they've got more experience than the rules have changed a little bit lot. More downforce on the cars should see a much much better race than we saw here last March last cheer one year ago this time we opened this broadcast talking about expecting one of the greatest races maybe in the modern history of NASCAR competition didn't turn out that way but we do expect much better competition. Titian much more intense afternoon here today over the next few hours. Today's another Winston Noble five race the top five finishers from the Daytona five hundred can claim a million dollar bonus with a win and and most of those five drivers qualified well that on top of a three million dollar purse for this event. There's a lot at stake over the next few hours. Really is five drivers with a shot for an extra bonus us of a million dollars that alone is going to create a lot more competition out. There and there are some teams that want to get their season turned around haven't had that much look at Daytona that run date bad. They've got caught up an accident and some have just run that bad ed but here yesterday or I should say Friday and yesterday qualifying was so close on Friday. Twenty two drivers broke the track record and we probably have about as closer qualifying flying field. Here's we've seen so all the ingredients there to have a great day drivers beginning to be introduced to the crowd now on the pre-race stage down of the start finish line and the trial will area of the speedway speedway weather conditions. It's a little chilly today. It's not quite sixty degrees quite yet just about to hit sixty sixty one the high temperature for the afternoon some high clouds clouds obscuring the sun just a little bit a little breezy on the afternoon overall though not bad conditions and certainly a dry track and we'll be ready to go racing on time in this afternoon's. Las Vegas four hundred back at the Las Vegas Motor speedway time to go track side and get the thoughts of some of the drivers before they strap in and get ready to go in on this afternoon's Nascar Winston Cup series event the man who lead them to the green flag today is Bobbi Body Fourteenth Career Bud Pole award. He took in qualifying here on Friday afternoon had two wins in the one thousand nine hundred eight season tested here back in January getting ready for this event hoping for much better results than he got one year ago in the inaugural event. Let's go here from bobby the body now he's with Jim Phillips of Newport Tennessee. Save the best for last on Friday afternoon one hundred seven point six four three miles per hour. was there a greater eight or difference in the field of the cars this year yeah. I mean there. There is pretty good feel to it. You know the track is getting definitely more abrasive and the tires are giving up more so the sticker tires are really really important but you know you know as the race goes on at the you know the spoilers will help out and you know our our cars worked really good for qualifying and we worked on this morning trying to get a little bit better for their age who aren't quite as happy as we wanted to be yesterday afternoon. So hopefully we made the right decision. Hopefully be really good today. Your car's Pontiac some cars yesterday and look like in the Bush could really get up behind somebody that kind of push you. WanNa push up the racetrack. How about your car's in the draft. Yeah it's GonNa have little Aero. Push probably to do it so we're going to have to watch out for that. You know make sure get free enough but not too free so you know it's it does have that Tennessee to do that and I think most cars do hopefully ours is no worse than anybody else's so. We're just GONNA try to work on ours to make sure that we don't have that problem jar front we can stay there. That'd be great but you know it's GonNa be tough to do that. Baba the body the but poll water order one hundred seventy point six four three miles per hour. Michael Waltrip had quite an afternoon here on Friday. He held a number one starting spot right down to the last three qualifiers but in the the end had to settle for the outside pole position today. He's one of five drivers eligible for a million dollar bonus from Winston if he wins just two races this year. This team has proven they can run up front. Kenny wind today. Let's find out what's IT Kelly is with him well. He was a little bit disappointed on Friday afternoon with the prize he's really looking for. Is that Winston no bull million Michael Michael. Can you take it home today well. There's you know Simul story. There's guys that are really strong the six and the ninety nine or just awesome like they are ever week so we we feel like we're running really good. You know we're going to be competitive but to win the race. You know it's it's going to. It's going to take a lot of a lot of improvements from various afternoon afternoon. We didn't quite have it the way we wanted. The has been all over the board for everybody some loose some tight very few. That's hit it on the money. Has Your car been. It does just what you said you know you come in and complain about about being a little loose and work on it and you go out and it'll push. It just seems like I haven't been able to hit it just right yet. I've been on one side or the other and a lot of guys are saying the same thing. This track lends itself. South to that though it's it's really flat and sweeping so it's real hard to get a car set up perfectly and the the ninety nine looked like yesterday afternoon he was the benchmark that you had to. Kinda engage yourself against and he was a little bit better with a million extra reasons to go to Victory Lane Michael Waltrip Rozov second in the Philip Chevrolet. Mike Skinner comes into this event leading the Nascar Winston Cup series championship standings by twenty nine points over Rusty Wallace after finishes of fourth at Daytona and six at Rockingham to open the ninety nine season skinner another of the drivers with a shot of the Winston Noble five million dollar bonus today and tell you what this team has been consistent and consistently upfront so far this ninety nine in season there believing in themselves they believe they're going to be winning contenders as far as races all season long. They believe they're going to finish up there. In the championship standings by the time the end of the year comes as well also so let's get Mike skinner's thoughts today starting in Fifth Position Charlotte North Carolina's Mardi Snyder's with him and it's been a terrific start to the season for my skin and you come to attract today. Mike just like Japan pan where you win last November same car almost the same setup but can you get the same result well. I don't know you know at six car looks off. Strong in the twenty. Four is always strong. There's about five or six cars that are that are pretty awesome are low. Chevrolet was awfully good. Yesterday morning. We struggled a little bit and happy hour. Larry and Royce in the guise of made a spring bring change on the car this morning so it'll be a hero or zero move but we knew we wasn't good enough to have a chance yesterday afternoon so we're digging. We're doing the best cam career in the week though you were awfully confident you didn't want to jinx yourself. You felt like this could be your best chance to win a point trace. DFL's still feel the same way. Perhaps yeah you know like I said. There's a couple cars. That are awfully strong but it's a long race. It's four hundred miles and you got to be there at the end and we'll fall in there somewhere and do the best we can throughout the day and if we get a lucky he shot right there at the end. Maybe we can get up there and get one. That is the points leader going. After a million bucks. We'll start fifth today. More pre race coverage from Las Vegas in just a minute closing housing in the start of the Las Vegas four hundred back at the Las Vegas Motor speedway counting down to the start of today's Las Vegas four hundred for the Nascar Winston Cup series. We mentioned a minute ago. The command to fire fire engines should have been coming along now but it's going to be a couple of minutes while they get some of the final fantasy from the parking lots to their grandstand seats in get the event underway so all we way. Let's go backtrack attract side. Here's Jim Phillips with Kiro starting today this year. It looks like there's a little little more patients kidneys ethic as you've been talking to Doug richer lot well. We just learned a lot the first year and brought back what we had in the in the truck series a ninety seven so he's been definitely a big help to me. Tell me about this race track and today you starting tenth. Could you stay in the top five today. We feel like we can't we had a good happy. Hour track seems to be about the same as yesterday. The weather's good we're. That's what we're hoping for a top five. That's getting urban last year's rookie of the year Nascar Winston Cup racing check listen Kelly with Rick Mast and some of the best garage. Jerry stories are about the EGRESS plans are getting out of race tracks but rick mast. You had a bit of a challenge this morning just getting into the race track listen. I'll be glad when this race starts. Carson nerves and get settled down man. I'm I nervous so Taupe my life. I I got my car. You'll be a good boy. Leave at six o'clock. Got In the car wouldn't start right. Finally I got somebody to jump me. At seven twenty. I got and I got the thing running got up on the interstate. I want about a mile and a half come to did stop you. GotTa realize that's probably twenty miles racetrack as it oh Lord I got off the interstate got on Las Vegas. Boulevard did stop right well. This thing works at an at traffic for while found that ended up I it's it's a pretty neat story. I don't know exactly where all was. Ah Suffice to say one time I was in desert didn't have didn't have any idea which way it was because it was cloudy. I couldn't see where the sun was out. which way was east and West got off the desert? Uh Niagara back through this stuff somewhere and you're gonNA miss the drivers. I wouldn't worry about drivers musical miss a Dagenham race. Finally you know when I went through. I went through a couple the people's front yards. I went through somebody's Bush's rector. I don't think I took offence Donna. Thanks Rick Mass.. Is this shrubs and then you know I couldn't and found a copper law. Enforcement got to help me 'cause I were there. They were trying to get the traffic themselves and finally this goes on for a couple of hours man and I'm like you know drivers ars meetings nine thirty and eleven thirty and I'm still like thirty minutes from or is like what was it nine o'clock you know and I try track and I'll see them doug him. Helicopters going rebounds four. That's where I need to be. Finally down in. Somebody's ditch spending in Kate find placement anywhere all of a sudden look here placement comes flying and through this other yard right comes up side like going to restaurants in old lore. Now you're GONNA make rice and we'll get arrested. Then he comes up to me gets his finger face. You don't if they don't they just just settle down on. Just settle down. Let me tell you a story. I tell him a story. He says okay. We're GONNA help you rick so he gets on the radio about fifteen minutes to seize part. They get me in the left left. Lane motorcycle trooper comes and gets me here we go down the left side lane nail on the opposing traffic right with the truth of the trooper in front of me with the motorcycle and I'm running will. I'm not sure how fast are running but buses run. An offroad cars run off the road. I look one time and I'm a seeding the speed limit a little bit run off the side of the road. It Costs Brennan Miss.. A bus pulled over to let us through and I'm thinking but finally we get here to the race track and funny part the trooper brings married in the race track and when he does US Rick Race car driver all thought she's going draft with me. Samana ahead to thing wide open. It would go any faster this this just going back. Maybe lows how come in the garage area here and I'm just now starting to get control back and you did make the drivers me. I did make the drivers meeting. I was out of breath and everybody was laughing at me but I have my motor home here next year. Believe me well Rick Mast. He'll roll off in the Kale Jabre own car. A little bit further back actually had a pretty good qualifying run in twenty-second. He's been in every race and that's been key for this team as they've kind of resurrected themselves. I think you'll have that much trouble getting up front and leading this race through all that traffic to get in here from the sounds of it no problem at all for Rick. Let's go back to Marty. Schneider Jeff Gordon Starts Eleven today since eleventh in points after the troubles at Rockingham two weeks ago. Do you feel like you have a little bit of a hold a climate of Jeff a little bit yeah. you know we had some momentum come from Daytona and you know the little bit that got stopped Rockingham but we're still only two races into the season. It's a long season but it really has to come through consistency. If you're going to win the championship and that wasn't the way to do it but think we've got a problem album solved and we're ready to go back to racing seventeenth here last year and this was a point of emphasis in the off season for you guys to focus on. Las Vegas was that one of the reasons to run the NASCAR BUSCH series race yeah. That was one of them. You know we're able to test the Bush car and get some data that we could transfer over to the Winston Cup car and I feel like it's helped us a a little bit yeah. We didn't qualify as well here today as we did last year but I think a race setup is a little bit better plus a spoiler near Damn having more of that is helping the chevrolets charlize it a little bit more also was a little bit of a disappointing last year here for Las Vegas Las Vegas for Jeff Gordon finished seventeenth.

The way to not lose your price and not play. Yeah. I mean, if they came to my house, and we're like we brought a bunch of you know, casino games. Then maybe I'd be like, well, I had vantage house always wins. And we're in my house. So yeah. Now, I will that would be a good way for the casinos to trick me into. I mean, I guess that's what online gambling. Sheldon Alderson came to your ass. Ooh, no get out of here. What is that all of your face? Putty. Are you are you made entirely of clay told my floor?
