Seafood watch, a well-known guide to sustainable seafood is telling folks to avoid eating wild caught oysters that come from the Chesapeake Bay. The Monterey bay aquarium is behind the guide, but decline requests for common from the bay journal about the rating, saying the draft assessment may change depending on public comment, but a look at the draft shows the bay is being poorly managed. The university of Maryland center for environmental science says the draft applied an overly broad and uneven brush when raiding the bay. The Maryland department of natural resources also takes issue with the findings and stood behind the state's oyster management, saying it's been reviewed favorably by outside scientists. He's the father of 25 year old Melanie Diaz, who died in the fire at the arrive Silver Spring apartment, a new bill introduced this week in the General Assembly would require all high rises to give notice if they do not have in unit sprinklers. Ziegler ishino was fired from that job and charged with three misdemeanors last year. In a story that you're hearing first on WTO, D.C. is using nearly $10 million in a grant from the Department of Education to help retrain and retain school based mental health professionals, as many psychologists and social worker jobs remain unfilled. D.C. public schools had 29 social worker vacancies in 36 psychologist openings as of late January, so the city is using the money in part for training staff members on best practices, and for recruiting and retention effort. Tia Marie bromstad is the city's assistant superintendent for health and wellness. We are really leaning into this opportunity to develop our relationship with our local and regional colleges and universities. She says the pandemic forced many people to think about mental health. More than 2000 pills were seized Monday, the first batch of more than 250 pills was found during a traffic stop on Georgia avenue near Randolph road in Silver Spring. 20 year old Marcus Carter was driving a silver Mercedes with two other young men inside after pulling the car over Montgomery county police officers learned Carter was in violation of his learners permit. They established reason to search the car found the pills, cash a loaded gun and items related to drug distribution. Detectives searched Carter's home later that evening and found 1800 more pills and more drug distribution items. Carter is in jail without bond, the two young men with him were released without charges. Las Anderson WTO news. So you can go ahead and avoid that accident scene. As you're heading on the outer loop, no issues continuing past I 95 towards Georgia avenue and I two 70 and earlier crash on the inner loop near Georgia avenue has cleared I 95 BW Parkway up to speed and no issues on I two 70. Westbound side of 50 looks good though, a little slow headed past one 97 looking at cameras here. I don't see any reason for it, no crashes, no incidents, but feel free to let me know if you see something one 8 6 6 three O four WTO beltway traffic across the Wilson bridge looks all right headed into Virginia, no issues towards Springfield, three 95, no crashes, I 95, we do have one. Several Democrats now say they will back the measure and President Biden won't stand in its way with a veto. Critics of the new criminal code say it shouldn't lighten penalties for crimes like robbery and carjacking. Sentencing for a former D.C. police officer convicted of assault on fellow employees 55 year old Robert Anderson of Ann arundel county has been sentenced to 5 years in prison I'm sorry 5 months in prison. Last month, a jury found him guilty of four counts of assault with a crimes that happened back in 2019. Anderson was convicted of leaning down and kissing the ear and neck of an employee without her consent. Anderson was on duty at the time in the department reassigned him several weeks later. He did the same thing to another female officer and two other female employees. They were all touched without their consent.
