"Nah I listen to a lot of like rock in Alternative type of stuff anything with like a bunch of distorted guitars but I also I do love country music. I think funny enough. I've only ever been to country concerts Even though I would say don't listen to it that much but I think it's a really good Jonah. Honestly and she's fun to go there because it's just a little different though this year the country day just because of the presence of smoke spokesman kind of head player that's kind of been on the promotional side of countries. So that'll be interesting. How they do that this year by its John. Gibbons daughter right who has right and singing that they no longer have that connection But yeah it seems like. There's nothing really this year that stands out the one. I'd say I'm most excited for is the as I mentioned before. My favorite player is Lord Israel Junior So I'm excited for that one but there's not a alarm clock giveaway And like that's a game that I really wanted to go to because of that But I don't really see anything like that in single game. Tickets did go on sale this week. So there's I don't really feel an onus right now to buy a ticket to any one of these games because of any specific giveaway although they are exciting and I'm pretty excited to see some of them really haven't been announced sale like the Hello Kitty Bobblehead Which is Blue Jay themed? They haven't released a picture for that so that should be exciting And then there's also the Kevin Bijou hit for the cycle bobblehead as we mentioned. They haven't released a picture for that. So some of the stuff is still to come But Yeah The Blue Jays over the past week have done a handful of small signings. That probably won't make too much of a difference at the major league level But just starting off today. They had I'd say the the most noteworthy signing of the week. They signed Raphael Dallas to a one year. Major League deal Scotty Mitchell of tsn He was the first one to report it. It was confirmed By others including Ben. Nicholson Smith The deal includes option for twenty twenty one and Dulles as a reliever he pitched in Japan for the past few years but in twenty nineteen In five one. Era Again it's all out of the bullpen but Still really good numbers and You know just looking back on his numbers. Dulles hasn't pitched in the majors since twenty three has a lot of good consistent numbers in the past you know five years from Japan so looking back in two thousand eighteen years. An era of two point eight. I'm twenty seventeen two point seven one twenty sixteen He played fewer games. He only pitched thirty innings the in the area of two point one to seventeen game seventeen innings as well in two thousand fifteen twenty sixteen in Dominican League He had zero point five. Three era so Obviously those numbers are not directly transferable. Because they are from foreign leagues but they're still -joyed any as major league experience He made according to sports net. Forty appeareance appearances with the cubs Between Two thousand eleven and twenty thirteen and he's still only thirty two years old so I think this is good. Timing for bluejays because it it only costs them one million dollars Plus whatever he accrues in bonuses over the twenty twenty season and then they have the option As a club to pick up His contract for twenty twenty one so Yeah I like with any of these deals. There's no downside and I think the Blue Jays were right to prioritize signing someone like this for the bullpen. As the Great Mike Wilner would say You can never lose out on a one year deal and you know again. Malls from lots of signings. They made this week. I just want to say some other ones that they done These are all minor league deals with invites spring training. So Patrick Cantwell Catcher. Caleb Joseph Katcher. We obviously are familiar with him a little bit. Since he's he's spent time with the Baltimore and Infielder Ruben to To hotta so of course Joe Panic who. I think you've mentioned already and the interesting one of Joe. Panic has been seeing a lot of base off of reaction online. A lot of Eric sogard comparisons here For Joe Panic. Who can you possibly or has a chance to revamp his career in Toronto in e. That doesn't even mean he can make the the major league spring training as Soga obviously started last season in AAA and You know Joe Panic still got something to prove and you know. He's obviously got a great resume. He's got a career thirty three thirty four on base percentage. So one thing that he's always done successfully is get on base and he spent thirty nine games with the mets to finish off the back in the last year. Had to seventy seven average soon. He didn't play. He played pretty good near the end. You know before that He was struggling. He was struggling struggling. Mightily in or with the giants. Obviously that's where he's most known known for and he eventually got released during the Ernie. One you want home to play for the mets and the N. Ryan Dahle Someone who were kind of familiar with he had a he actually had one appearance for the Jays last year and it didn't go too well In over one inning. He he posts a six seventy five year. Ray and as a blue Jay so hopefully he can drop that number down a little bit as he's looking to spend more time as he'll spend parts with the major league team depending on performance and injuries so on and so on. I spent part of last year as well with the Yankees Majora majority of his time and Raphael. Dole is again He's somebody who hasn't pitched in the majors at geometric since twenty thirteen and you know based off of his numbers Since he's left the majors you can see that you know his stretch going going to Japan. They're playing in other leagues. Worked out for the Sorry worked out for him actually. And from two thousand sixteen to two thousand nineteen just based off of average numbers. He's got to forty. Nine hundred ninety six saves so I guess it's something to kind of look forward to but You made a good point saying it's not very transparent for just because he's been a different leagues but I guess it's something that another death he said. You can't go wrong with and you know the Jays again that's just a classic thing but when you're you know you're building up towards spring training signing players to minor league deals especially in the bullpen on one year deals no lose deals because even if they don't make the major league roster that could be valuable pieces for you in the Minor Leagues so nothing to complain about their and hopefully for other players like panic. You hope he can kind of revamp his career. It's he's on another one year deal and You know maybe it'll maybe it will work out sogo. Maybe it won't but again you can never lose out on a one year deal. Yeah I like the comparison you that you just brought up from panic the SOGARD. I think that's interesting because actually in since so Garda's are not saga since panics. Been in the The majors he has actually never had an on. Base percentage below. Three point three hundred. Which honestly that's really good in my opinion and I think the fact that he is twenty eight years old he could provide if he were to make it to the he were to make the cut star. Come the start of the season. I think he could be a valuable of veteran piece. I mean he's not like significantly older but you know he has been an all star he has been in the world series. He has won a gold glove. So I think he's a guy that could still add some form of Experience to help these younger guys Be I think also just overall the bluejays are good in doing the right thing that when you're rebuilding you want to sign as many guys you can and even if you're not rebuilding are going into spring training. You WanNa have people to look at you know you never know who could come out of spring training as it could emerge and make your roster. I think was it five years ago. I think it was back when Roberto Osuna was kind of a nobody. He and Miguel Castro. They were just kind of brought in and then they ended up actually doing pretty well. That season will soon at least and you know it. Just it shows that you know you bring anybody in you know whether they have a proven track record or they just. They just need that one chance. You know. It's good because now you have. You have options. A lot of people that are competing for a set number of spots and that you know that promotes them to to play really well in order to get to the major leagues and stay there so I think yeah it's a there's no no losses that could ever come out of this. I think I do not recognize any of the names But in this in this list of the movie honest I kind of forgot about Ryan adult but I all of all the the following names. I know that my group into Hotta Joe Panic Kill Joseph. Patrick Cantwell I I recognize all those names which was interesting and they seem to be all washed up major leaguers with the exception of can't well because he's been in the Blue Jays Organization for some eight years as Catcher But yeah what I want. What do you guys think about killed? Joseph because there was a feud many years ago I think it was twenty fifteen involving killed Joseph because I just reading now in the Baltimore Sun When he was with the Orioles Jose Ray has accused Joseph of stepping on His hand at on a play at the plate so Marcus stroman through at Joseph's Head And then in another game Aaron Sanchez through at Kill Joseph although. Apparently it wasn't intentional. So there's definitely lots of Lots of tensions between these two parties Do you think of that still resonates. Now I think largely without Jose Bautista. The feud between the Orioles and the Blue Jays has cooled down though yet. The the one highlight. I'M GONNA say out of all the players you've mentioned with past issue Joseph is none of them are on the team anymore. And I think that's got a big You know I got a big factor in bringing them in and quite frankly to is under a different front office in lots of other factors. I'm sure Caleb Joseph That's GonNa be a lot easier for him to you. Know not even think about anymore. You know those again. Those rivalries between Jason Orioles a few years ago when both teams were there were some heated moments like you said and even going back even further before they were both playoff teams with Darren O'Day and Jose Bautista. An unknown of these player. There anymore so I don't I haven't really looked into too much and again kill Joseph. He's got six. I spent five out of his six years in the with the Orioles and last year he spent time with the Arizona diamondbacks organization the only appeared in twenty games though. And you know this thing would kill Joseph is. He's a typical. Backup catcher with the healthy roster. I it's doubted he's GonNa make the opening day roster but again anything can happen in the spring training but you know what you're getting out of Joseph. You're getting you're not. You're not getting a very good header. With a crew of six twenty and a career average of two twenty so it's something again and again in on base percentage below three hundred a typical backup catcher. Who's you know? He likely won't be making the opening day roster. I don't see too much out of any further problems. Killer Joseph. Yeah I think it's interesting that you brought that up because I was thinking the exact same thing. I don't necessarily think that this is GonNa Impact Caleb Joseph's chance of making the roster although I still doubt it with Danny Janssen and reese McGuire Perhaps if someone like strom it if Someone like Stroman was still on the team. Who was kind of in the middle of that feud that there could be the potential for some type of arguments? If any but I kinda doubt it I think everybody has probably moved on by now but I. I don't really think it will impact his chances. Although like I said I doubt he's really gonNA make it. He he's just brought up or he's just been signed as a do due diligence to just add more depth to your your organization if something bad would happen to your primary catchers yeah just. WanNa before we wrap things up market just wanted Just change switch.

"Once again Larry Walker Montreal Expo also famous for being Colorado Rocky these in his law as well as Derek jeeter and it couldn't be more different in terms of how they get in James Derrick jeeter first ballot hall of Famer and he fell one vote shy becoming the only the second player ever to gain unanimous entry into the hall of fame. Ninety nine point seven right. Who is the guy that didn't vote for him? Ya Ah what a point three per vote. I guess it sounds like doing the math I was thinking the same thing. How can you be so far? skews the punt punt so far off base. Yeah and that's why a lot of people think that should be. It should be actually publicized. Like all voters should be fully transparent unclear and release their voting to the public so we would know which guy should be stripped immediately. You of his right to vote on this thing. If you know the Derek jeter and I'm not even a big Yankee Fan but he don't think Derek jeter is a hall of Famer you don't belong in in this process. You're you're fired you're off the board you know on the other side of things just for you. Continue Larry Walker. He who is in for the tenth and final time you need seventy five percent to get in. He had seventy six point six so he gets in just by the skin of his teeth. Though I do think he had a career that merited it. Well you know what I you know what. I saw that ready to go. Look Larry Walker's getting in there. I was never a big enough baseball fan to be able to vote on. Whether guys you get in the altar and I thought wow. That's cool that he got in. There must be a must be well. He's the only the second Canadian. Because I think free Jenkins was the other guy to get in correct What could I started reading the stats of the guy? Okay okay what what he did in his career. Every year Steve. He won some sort of award every single year. They played something and then. I'm watching watching this thing. Last night. He was the Tony Gwynn thinker. Someone called him the best all around players ever seen you know. What do they call guys? When they're multi five tool player a witch five tool player right and so I started reading about it and watching the news last night about this and the the accolades? And what the guys you know. He's got he had an arm. He hit for power he could steal basis Got The golden glove of five time all star. I'm reading this thing. How did this guy possibly have to wait? Fifteen years so I'll give stats. He played from eighty nine to two thousand five. Seventeen seventeen years. He led the majors in batting average three times and in slugging percentage twice he finished up with three hundred eighty three home runs and two hundred thirty stolen bases and a career batting average of three thirteen. And then you factor in what a great defender was. He won seven gold glove awards. Awards five all star nods three silver sluggers and was the National League. MVP In nineteen ninety seven so even though he gets gets in by the skin of his teeth I think he is comfortably. Go as he should be a comfortable going into cooperstown because I think his his numbers merit somewhat go with the whole chorus field thing right given how hitter friendly park is in Colorado and he was there for ten years but He was he was almost. This is good with his time with Montreal Expos meanwhile some guys were closely at Curt Schilling. He was sixty one percent. So No Sir you seventy percent. So he He's five percents and he was on his eighth ballot again. Ten and you're done Roger. Clemens was on his eighth ballot. He's at sixty one percent percent. Another near Miss was Barry Bonds on his eight ballot at sixty point seven percent certainly lots of is on bonds and clemens Everybody raises an eyebrow about How they got the numbers that they did how they had the you know because of the connection to peds Ri- appeared maze? He's and so that's always going to dog them I wanted to do you think they'll get in. Because they're getting they improve each and every year and I think that with with two years still to go. They may finally get in within the next couple of years. But back to the man of honor Larry Walker. Of course he had to do the whole media thing talking into one media outlet after another and decided for some odd reason to where this nascar shirts kind of black and gold but with all kinds of. Spongebob lunged Bob Designs all over it. I'm not sure about the back story on that. I'm going to look into it but I do know I want one. Here's Larry Walker fell to about his induction while it's Sir Dreams about your dream about hitting that home run maybe in game seven to walk it off and win a world series and then when it's all over in the career is over and the numbers there then the next dream is okay was good enough to go join the great to the game so somehow or another I pulled that off and and you know the writers thought I was just good enough to to to make it in. So I'm thrilled about the honor and thrilled about going in as a Canadian. And only the second Canadian to go into cooperstown Fergie Jenkins being the first. So congratulations to the former expo. Larry Walker time now for the RB Computing Web. Paul James the Ottawa. Senators are the subject matter. They have at least two first round pick schedule for the summer's NHL entry draft. Who knows wants the trade deadline comes and goes maybe they have more than two so the question I have is how would you rate their recent I ground performances performances at the draft table? I think it's been pretty damn good overall. I mean there may be some missteps in here but this year they got twenty nineteen. I should say they got finished. Defenseman lassie Thomson. Who I believe was Finland's captain of the World Juniors Two thousand eighteen they get burnt Brady could shock and also Jacob? Bernard are doctor who was awesome for team candidate. This year's World Juniors Shane bowers and 2017. that would may be one where you're not thinking I ground with. Him traded away in the match. Shane deal get Logan Brown. We're still waiting for him. But he has moments twenty sixteen first rounder and then in two thousand fifteen they had Thomas Chabad and Colin White Chabad looks like a slam. Dunk is more than a few cents fans who are very worried about calling white largely because they just signed him to a six year contract. which kicks in this fall and he still you kinda still waiting on him to start behaving like a first rounder but not having the best of seasons hopefully? It'll be alright. Here's some of the feedback. We've got on twitter at TSN Steve where the poll resides as well as our facebook page brand new facebook page this week. Steve Leave W project big records. I'd say a little above average hard to compare from pass rebuilding teams certainly not Edmonton like drafting but pretty strong. Only time will hotels these boys become the man to lead us to victory big rick with a hard shot at your oilers. They're better pipe down. Yeah speaking of Piping Michael Michael gotTA keep it down. Okay Bud other feedback Felix lalonde rights. You know what they're all good pixel good upside. The only problem right now with white is his performance versus salary. Let's always talking about people. Were complaining when bowers was in the Shane Trade. But he's not having a good season in the American in Hockey League Logan Brown could be great. Playmaker has to improve his skating though. And we'll get three more in here. reuss dry or bus driver Bruce. One I'd ranked as a B. Plus big hits on Chabad and CA- Chuck Thompson. GBD's look great at the world. Juniors Bush League all star is a b plus and Dan Cyrus writes in terms of years until their NHL ready could chuck less than a year. Chaban took two and a half white took four and isn't a top six player. lassie looks to be a couple months or couple years. Rather bowers Brown. I think are going to be bossed and should have been third rounders Jay. Bdo is the big wild card. So there is some of the feedback on our poll today rb Computing Web poll James and thanks for everybody's feedback Kinda harsh you know from computers to business networks and everything in between Steve. "Of the baseball hall of fame Larry Walker gets in Derek Jeter gets in mark Sanchez what do you think of the new electorate well deserving I think you're not gonna find too many people who really take issue with that Larry Walker's been around a long time he as recently as twenty fourteen I think he was at ten percent on the ballot the fact that he got in is is really at okay into how much builders can change and how much they they can be swayed and the fact that you're not in that I don't think anyone it would be the big question was whether it can be unanimous and it's sort of hilarious to me that one person did leave him out and it's even more hilarious to me that we don't know who that one person is I guess you can you can make the baseball argument that he didn't deserve to be and to me the more offensive part is you know a a journalist who tried his transparency as is hiding behind us but that's I get a separate arguments to see these two guys and a home any guesses on who the entered court this is not me I name is mark Sanchez by the way like I'm not the right word what the hell was that no I I'm with you I'm with you on on Jeter and I don't know as people get so upset about the one hundred percent saying like Babe Babe Ruth wasn't a hundred percent Joe DiMaggio took like three ballots to get a and like who who knows a damn with solitary Walker thing though as you mentioned it it shows the ability of the electorate to change I almost have a problem with it and I want to get your thoughts on this if the electorate which doesn't change all that much I know there are some people coming in and some people going out but really it's about the same people every year if they change their opinion so much on a guy when he has played zero more baseball game selections nothing he's done nothing is just sat there how how what like why why did he go from ten to set I I'm not disagreeing with him being part of the baseball hall of fame I think that he should be in the baseball hall of fame but how do we go from ten to seventy five and in not pretend as if that isn't an indictment on the people making these decisions are you you clearly have not paying attention to all the behind the scenes bribing liar lockers been doing this yeah that's why I had to wear that stupid shirt today exactly yeah I am with you it makes no sense he is the same the staff of the same you the exact same player he was when he first on the ballot and he got the love for you know the type of thing where look if it's crowded ballot here and the motor there only lag and hires yeah that is seventy five is not a crowded ballot like he'll get a chance next year sort of a thing that's just people not researching because he's good enough today should been good enough back then again he has played no more baseball games so I I I I I don't I don't get it I don't get it what is it that sway able is it really is it really that easy to convince that many people to completely change their mind I think there are a couple things going on here the longer the guys stay on the ballot the more I guess concern the builders will will take into their into their resume yeah you know the fact that Larry Walker is been on this long and the fact that he is about to fall off I think people took a longer look at whether to vote for also the fact that this year it would only really Jeter who is being added as a viable candidate and the ballots were pretty clear that helped him to usually these guys take yeah Walker took a big leap last year and then you just need that extra nudge this year that was chilling this year that Curt Schilling went from I think sixty seven seventy percent seems like he's setting up for for next year where you know he is the same candid he's always been but the fact that there's now momentum going for and he's got a better shot he's improving in a way that you know bonds and Clemens and they're always guys aren't but they Iman's had a slight uptick but you know going from fifty nine to sixty that's not gonna do it so it's it is weird how you need that momentum first just to be able to get in position to get that Lee Prague to the finish line sounds like to me you you don't think Barry Bonds is is going to get in I don't think there well I don't think Barry Bonds gonna get in in his ten years on the ballot whether you get in later in life three different committees that I wouldn't be surprised but really it would it well I mean we're gonna see how how baseball about but I I would not be surprised I would be shocked if he gets in you know it is near the eligibility here how can how can people justify that at this juncture it's just the steroids thing but I I know I'm not telling anybody anything that they don't really now if you're actually paying attention there guys who did steroids in the hall of fame currently they were elected recently so why are we pretending as if what Barry Bonds did it is somehow beyond the pale I mean look I think I'm probably preaching to the choir here I don't think there are a whole lot of people who read it agree disagree with me but it you know in the in the nineties it wasn't yeah you could you could take those things and you would not be to spend it for any game that didn't happen until two thousand for the collective bargaining agreement where they agreed on it I if you want to keep guide to bend to the positive post two thousand four al I think that's a more speeches argument than than keeping bonds out if you want to keep me social out because the court is back I think that's a more fair argument because he did something that he knew was not allowed he then went against the rules and broke up I think that's a more moralistic argument that I can buy you can that I don't buy that one but the fact you're keeping out the guy who took steroids in your car when it was allowed and enabled and help save the game is shocking to me if you had about who would you of put on it this year Walker but want to deter I would put bond good selling Clemens how may we got into candid on that ballot for me interesting can you tell me why why Jeff Kent makes it because I I I honestly struggle with that there were a couple years were Jeff Kent was one of the most important players in baseball I didn't feel like it it stretched long enough why do make the cut for you I think just based on numbers affect you the second baseman in an in an era where than there was not many second baseman tour putting up those numbers he has sort of gotten I didn't a little bit bye bye on pieces or to the other guy in those but all those kinds teams I mean seventeen years and live in the big leagues I think what ticks time all star three hundred seventy seven home runs out of the second baseman a guy who played pretty good defense to me he's a hall of Famer yeah I think he is probably one of the more you guys but I'm also big hall of fame guy where to me if if that close side I give the edge okay who else goes into your big hall of fame yes the JFK juncture of the play you had Manny Ramirez on the list and I agree with you here as I also can be so I I I I think Jimmy Carter Helen Dalton or two and he's gonna he's gonna be another guy who his case gets more interesting he he does not have he does not have a high percentage right now and the fact that Larry Walker just got in it is that does that now allow eight sort of less skeptical lying course you'll get because numbers are there and he just like our Walker he could hit on the road but not as much but to me when I when I saw him play I I thought I got all of them are his his numbers were almost incomparable from from when he was playing I mean look if I'm loading I'm I'm acting out the plot to get is what I'm saying why is it so difficult for pictures to get over the hump is that is it just a wee class the last a few years and so I'm I'm conflating recency in a bad class with pictures having a hard time getting in the hall if you think it's actually legitimately harder for pictures to get into the whole thing is there any correlation to the fact that we're talking about steroids guys and whether they should be in I guess so I mean but you would think that that would also then play the other way with guys who were never suspected of doing steroids and had to go up against steroids guys and that they would be given some leniency right even if they didn't have the hyper elite numbers you would you would say well those numbers steroid era you given the benefit of the doubt that to me look what I and when I watched might be seen apply I never really thought about the hall of Famer agreed and when you look at that when you look at the numbers he posted in the AL east all those years in the eight year that was heavily favored to hating I think his case got a lot easier to them to the one you got in yeah I mean next year is gonna be interesting I don't think that I don't think mark release all Famer her that is the end of this interview early and and you know what else it will be there next year and I to me those guys don't jump out of the bell as the federal papers but I do think that when you're looking if you're gonna penalize the haters because all the numbers were inflated didn't you know it can follow that the pictures get the benefit because the home the home run numbers were were still still borrow more Burley's absolutely a hall of Famer he's a legend of a person he's a five time all star for time gold glove winner he was the ace of a white Sox team that won the World Series he has a career one point two with mark burly goes to the hall of fame and I won't hear anything contrary about it okay I what I want is I wanted to lead with his gold glove numbers that that's the that's a pretty thirty a convincing argument for any time any time you can finish in the top five of cy young voting once you got it you got appointment you just gotta put I would you know thirty years in the big leagues that's always kind to get by with ninety one bought mile per hour fastball that's the kind of company something to I'm being slightly sarcastic and then at the same time my south side of Chicago this is coming in and mark burly goes to the hall of fame he's a first ballot hall of Famer my book my man called Interco gotten no love on the ballot that's ridiculous he's going to fall off the ballot he at least deserves to get a couple ballots and he was a really good player for a long time he's a hall of Famer he is absolutely hall of very good but like come on come on the feral Bains gets involved in co gets in wasn't fiery poking their call of baby talk I think that's a look at the clamoring for right now this is all I've ever wanted in my life fiery Paul can go talk I mean fourteen year old Peter is ready to come out and projects and in security here the kid who grew up in New Jersey if you want to get back to deter I'm I'm all for that okay so is in the hall of fame will he hand out gifts baskets to everybody who shows up at the ceremony that that is the question the money I don't know if he has all of it anymore because of the players Tribune but he has the money he said of the money I I don't think he has a self awareness for something humor for either of those things that would be an all time moment though that that that at that point whoever the closet non voters should come out and and publicly apologize just a favorite Derek Jeter moment that doesn't involve the Oakland days favorite Derek Jeter moment it doesn't all the openings and we're not living through that again yeah well I would I would do that to your to your listeners all seven of us though like he is let me see I mean Jeter is Jeter is a strange guy because he was as a non polarizing as he was in the time.

Nolan Arenado, Colorado Rockies agree to $26 million, 1-year deal

"Nolan Arnaldo and the Rockies have settled on a one year contract as what it is usual. When you go into arbitration. Ken Rosenthal reports are not as one year twenty six million dollar deal with the Rockies is a record for player through the arbitration process. If you remember the Rockies came in at twenty four which would have also been a record one year arbitration deal are not a wanted thirty million dollars. They settle on twenty six as what usually happens. You split. The difference in everyone goes home. That's that's significant and. While it sure doesn't seem like the Rockies have any aces up their sleeve in terms of recruiting Bryce Harper or landing, you know, they're still alive. Dallas kaikal hasn't been signed. Like, it doesn't seem like the Rockies are saving their money to go. After one of these marquee free agents that are still on the market. But I wonder what this means for Nolan are nano he said when he asked for thirty million dollars that it was what all athletes eight is business. It is a business. And you just heard Ryan leaf say the NFL is a business, but at the same time Nolan has no no other organization than the Rockies. You would want him. I think to be a little less cold and calculating, maybe that's too pollyannaish for the rock from the Rockies perspective. But is he going to be that rigid with the Rockies when they tried to negotiate a long-term deal during or after this year, the Rockies can't play around with this? I said this the other day. They can't risk losing Nolan for nothing. And for those who think that this thing's going to drag out till the end of September. No, it's not it has to be settled by July thirty one or they have to have a strong indication one way or another because they gotta get something for them. Or it's going to set this franchise back five years, and I'm not being I I'm not trying to be alarmist. And I don't think I'm being over the top. That's how important Nolan are not always you could talk about Trevor story and Charlie Blackmon those guys come and go they go up and down Nolan is the guy. He's the face of the franchise. He's their best player. He's the most steady and efficient. Hitter that they have. To me. They can't they can't hang onto him hoping that a whole year convinces them. They gotta try to convince them and a half a year or else they're going to be in a really tough spot. Well, and I'd say now that they've taken care of the whole arbitration thing and avoided that started now, right? Are working on a long term deal. Now. And look I would like to Rockies I mentioned this earlier in the show. The Padres are going to meet with Bryce Harper. I would love for Jeff rise to do that. To but to me. Jeff bridage. Should sit down right now. And all he should do. It's figuring out how he can convince Nolan are not to stay. Because that is the top priority and say what you will about when the Rockies traded Larry Walker or Baldo Jimenez, or any of these others. This will be the Troy to Lewinsky, even this will be bigger than any of those and more detrimental to the Rockies. If they don't handle this correctly. So I say all the time you have time to do other things, Jeff. But this has got to be your focus when you wake up in the morning. And when you go to bed at night figuring out. How to convince Nolan are Nado to stay in purple

"He had an exemplary career, and he is being snubbed because what he feels partly is because he's such an outspoken conservative supporter of Trump. And he believes that is totally amac. His numbers are way better than machine is numbers. Well for the record Curt Schilling Roger Clemens Barry Bonds and Larry Walker were the players to get more than fifty percent. But not enough to get in. Curt Schilling got sixty point nine percent. Roger Clemens had a great career. But he ruined it with the steroid thing. And even though he was found not guilty, or whatever they weasel out of it. We all know Barry Bonds. We all I'm Barry Bonds a joke. Barry Bonds joke because he was he looks like skinny Ethiopian from Black Hawk Down. When he first started in the end, he should have been in the WWE, and nobody likes. Him either. He's locker because nobody would talking. We just sit there and why Barry Bonds two guys you ruin their own career. Okay. Who is the other one Larry Walker? Larry Walker was a good player with of the catcher. I listen. I don't know. I know about the Yankees. But but. When you got a guy who's involved with Sarah aids. And who really tainted the sport Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds tainted the entire sport, Ken Griffey junior. Probably didn't get unanimously voted in because he was caught up in that era. So there's a couple of people who are standing by and say, well, we're not gonna nine the first time just because of that even though he got in Albuquerque chilling is really getting kicked in the DS because he deserves to be in way more than a lot of people that are in there. And I don't like I knew Curt Schilling sister lived. I forget what her name is. But she lived in the near the town where I lived in was friends with some friends of mine, whatever and for her birthday. He brought her a brand new track. I thought that was like, yeah. I mean, you know, he's rich. Yeah. There's a brand new track for your birthday. Enjoy it. Oh to pocketing pox still alive. Or is he down to box, dad? Daddy. There's a lot of people with recordings. Well, I was in prison back in nineteen ninety-five. He made a drawing for his girlfriend desharnais Smith. It was a little bit of a pornographic trying for he drew a picture of himself out doing stuff with desharnais style of dogs. If you know what I mean couch in above them. He wrote missing you deeply he put it in a handmade, and blah, blah with the message and stuff while anyways it just sold for auction. "The guys that was not listed in that group and by the way um chipper jones i'm cool with i was never a f i liked dislike the guy we were doing the pie in the face that's a historical guy i did not like chipper jones he came off very jerk is uh to me when i was a kid so i never really liked him um flat guerrero i am cool with black rare never saw was found allies at langley yeah yeah um jim thome e uh okay he a tunnel home run some good with that trevor hoffman was uh was obvious everyone thinks mary on a rivera trevor hoffman was not that far away he just never got his shot in the playoffs like rivera did some cool with that my issue becomes is especially when we're talking about larry walker being slighted is edgar martinez edgar martinez was a designated hitter in our and i'm not going to sit here and say that dh is don't deserve to get in kickers deserved it acknowledged vainly get in right if you're a specialist you deserve to be in the hall of fame if you are great out what you did but larry walker was a better hitter then edgar martinez was and it larry walker winnie at a laser rocket arm and he was a great use a five to a player yeah he's though vases he had power here he hit for contact i he won an mvp they played about roughly the same amount of playoff series so it's not like the mariners were that much greater than the rockies and the expos when larry walker was there um so my my issue is that why not that edge martinez doesn't deserve to get in but why according to this tracking is forty percent on forty percent more valid lynn larry walker and it's frustrating and the answer is coors that is the answer the answer is coors because they feel like it it's coors field and then they just just dismiss and they don't look at that what is the.

"The top how are you to consider edgar martinez but not larry walker i dunno i don't know how you don't consider i don't consider anybody under the route not larry walker i happened to probably be is biggest believe will have all the in the forty two forty three years i've covered baseball he's the most complete player of watched because we're he has a net joan george where it was he was gold glove consistent gold glove winner but those are the two guys it to me with the most complete all around players that did everything they could to help the team win it's unbelievable when you think walker is now in his eighth year of eligibility does it become less likely as the years go on now well i don't know because he's never had 25 percent of the vote before and it's starting to look like you might have forty percent this year uh if mike take a concerted effort over know there's been a couple of media people that have done it in the past and you know i don't know if i can help you make up thirty five to forty percent but when i look at what he did you know one of the on walker's that we played a coors field well until i point out that uh he had less than thirty one percent of his career plate appearances it was like thirty point '09 at coors field edgar martinez and i'm old enough because i covered the mariners i remember the kingdom which was a little box gay edgar martinez had thirty two percent of his career bouts in the kingdom nobody seems to hold that against him i see people now raving about joy autom the most hitterfriendly baseball park in baseball is in cincinnati now i'm not detracting from what those guys have accomplished but it just seems like because araki's haven't had a lot of success in the post season.

"I think he's a very good player but he was net he didn't have the numbers than the longevity and the health i i just never looked at him as a hall of fame clarify he was a very good player i'm with you one hundred percent i never thought he was all famer i'd be more likely to voting might be seena or fred mcgriff i'd even be willing to put it in your hand santana over larry walker now johanes never going to get any is only getting two point one percent of the vote but if you want to talk about a player whose absolutely dominant for a while there was no better pitcher on the planet no better pitcher at the top that's that's the thing that's the separator he was a hall of fame player for multiple years we walk resolving prayer for a season i felt like and you'll hunts onto santana now he didn't keep up those years you will never be a hall of famer he's not a hall of famer and he probably won't make the second about but he he had hall of fame seasons over and over again you just didn't had longevity he's a is the tim wants to come before two months ago do we need to change the way the hall of fame voting is done i was thinking about this the other day i was playing a video game owes playing mlb the show and i like playing career mode where i get to go through all last season's in you know put my name on the back of a jersey and for the last four years in that game i've been hitting 420 with eighty five home runs hunter in seventy rbis two thousand killing it obviously to video game but let's say there was actually a player like that and he did that for four straight years and then all of a sudden he got hurt so his career ends after four years but he did hit 420 with eighty home runs he became the natural he became everything you would ever want a baseball player he wouldn't be eligible for the hall of fame.

"Only way to get it and of course you can follow us on twitter jesus show jesus show who larry walker jesus christ show oh thank you thank you uh first of all i believe in god but i can't quite can devote heaven and hell i just can't buy into it seemed like a fairy tale to me sure i can i can imagine it does seem by the way it's made kind of like in and everyone when live happily ever after while some but what what gets you the most about it if you believe in god and i assume you believe that god is outside of the temporal world right here so you believe that god is uh allknowing does he have on me out tributes and powerful okay so he has all the army attributes he's outside of time so time is not of a concern to god by god creates time but is not bound by time okay so you have you know god without limitations where does it come in that you have a concern about well the ideal life i i'm willing to believe that a person who make fairer heaven and hell on earth uh i can't be eternity gnashing of he's walking on hot cold i do camp iin who it well some of that is imagery i know theologians go back and forth a lot of times that's that's the type of languages used because there's nothing else that humans would really understand otherwise if you just said it's the separation between we man and god you know some people would go on great that's like telling a child a uh you know hell is when your parents go away on vacation and houses all yours and they think oh this is great but really it's about the repercussions of that okay now the parents aren't paying the bills you got to pay the bills okay now that parents aren't there to show you how to a run the house so he got that the weight of that really the absence of god is what hell is it's not the hellfire and all that those are concepts to get people to understand the intensity and the lack of satiated in um that is hell well i was brought up in pentecostal only roller on a memo and they've police believe in you know the concept of fire and damnation well there's not there's nothing to say that there isn't fire there my point being.
