"The pacers have, I think everyone's just assuming they will trade all their good players, other veteran good players, the name of the miles Turner and buddy healed. That's her and healed certainly. That's being TJ McConnell. Although TJ McConnell, now he's got some leak pass equity just on his own, right? He does, and as I wrote in the column, he has to be absolutely furious that Jose alvarado came along and stole TJ McConnell's thunder as the preeminent cat burglar on backcourt steels, where he literally crouches in the corner and sneaks up behind and gets inbounds passes or steals it from people bringing the ball up. TJ McConnell was the king of the inbounds pesto, they didn't even have no one even got the ball. He would just steal the inbounds pass. And Halliburton, tyrese Halliburton, I have a little thing on him coming out next week. I don't want to spoil it too much, but you nailed it in your pacers preview, which is, which is up today. The guy is just a passing genius in any defensive coverage where you put two on the ball. He is going to pick it apart with two steps ahead, brilliance. The question is the interesting one for the pacers is, as you pointed out, very, very saliently, is he's going to face all kinds of defenses this year because he's the number one option by far, including switches. And does he have either the speed or like the step back hesitation dribble, step back three craft to beat switches, but he's like, I mean, he's going to be a 2010 guy this season, right? I mean, I don't know what the odds are on him leading the league in assist, but it's got to be pretty high. Probably pretty low, I guess. Yeah, yeah, I mean, he's a big reason to watch even though they will shut him down with some vague injury on February 17th. But so my main argument though is you can't put a team with The Rookie of the year 29th. Is good, okay? He's a year older than these other guys who came out so they may catch him in whatever, but he was they picked him 6, I think. 6th. He was the best rookie in summer league. He's been the best rookie in preseason. Like, if you're set nods on rookie of the year, like why wouldn't it be him? I think he's just plug and play ready to go starting wing in the NBA. Like right now. Yeah, they do, you know, between Halliburton healed Mather and duarte, I mean, Hal burns obviously gonna start. One of those last three guys is coming off the bench could be healed, could be Mather in. Could be any of them. You just gotta start bathroom. He's the second most important piece in your future. All right, so are you coming out right now, John hollinger, you're predicting, this wasn't even gonna be one of the awards that we called shot that we called shot. You're calling it matheran rookie of the year. Over Caro over whoever else is, you know, odds, odds are good. Calling my shot. I like it. I mean, why can't he if he starts and they eventually wither away the talent? Why can't he average like 17 and four? Yeah. Right? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, especially after the all star break when they shut everyone else down. They'll probably keep him going, put the ball in his hands more. Yeah. We put up some big numbers. You know, this is what everyone came for in deep Indiana Pacers talk. Yeah, I apologize about what I'm doing to the ratings for your show. No, this is fine 'cause all the pacers fans are gonna spend all your sign no one's talking about. No, we right now. Are talking about you for the first 8 minutes of a national ESPN podcast. Okay, give me a couple of hours. It's like the what when they give the one national TV game between Orlando and Houston just to say, look, we covered it like we did it. Yeah, that's one where we gotta break out some bells and whistles. Like we gotta do the second spectrum alternate broadcast with funky sound effects and stuff like that. Van Gundy, van Gundy should wear a toupee and to play by play. I don't know. We gotta do something. Different for them. Give me a couple others where you really disagreed vehemently. Either on the high end or the low end with my league pass rankings or the algorithms league pass rankings. You know what? I'm not gonna say this is a vehement disagreement. But I actually thought New Orleans could have been even higher because basically everyone on that roster is interesting. And the accumulation of everyone and how it all fits is interesting. And the whole question of like, are they somehow going to start the year 5 and 16 again? Like they always do, even though they look to have all this talent. That part is interesting. Like, who is the, who is the boring guy on New Orleans right now? Who comes into the game and you're like, eh. Maybe I'll maybe I'll change over to the pacers game now. Nobody. Nobody on that. I mean, they could play four guys. Well, that would make them work so I'm not flipping to any pacers game over at the pelicans. I guess the most boring guy, I mean, even Jonas valentinus is fun to watch. Oh, yeah, totally. Yeah. I mean, obviously I'm biased here. Well, yeah, but he's gonna like run people over, flex and roar, his three point pump fake takes 9 seconds and no one quite knows what to make of it. And it's just the whole thing is delightful. Larry Nance, I guess if you're just sort of a casual channel flipping fan, Larry Nance dribble handoffs and flare screens are not gonna light your world on fires. Maybe it's him, but for me, so the pelicans came 5th and the top 5 in order were one Brooklyn, two Golden State, three Memphis, four Denver. That's a tough top 5. I mean, really, but I'm with you, like Zion is, we're on Zion withdrawal. Like I can't wait to watch this guy. I can't wait to watch how he fits in. And you're high on them, right? I believe you and I are both on the high end of pelicans expectations. I had the 48 win succeed. Yeah. So it's interesting to see how this all fits together, you know? Are they going to defend? Do they have any three point shooting or will it matter? Will they just score 80 points in the paper game? And it just won't matter. From an entertainment perspective, I don't care about any of those questions. I don't care. Okay, yes, they will need to defend and shoot threes to win 48 games. For me to watch them, I don't even care if they're shooting injuries. More power to them if they play no defense, it'll be even more fun to watch. Although they need to get some fast breaks, that's where defense will help is we need to get Zion in the open court and just people coming near him and then bouncing off of him in all directions at the same time. So you had pelicans 6th, which means I believe the team among the sort of top 7 8 in the west that you had in the play in is Dallas Dallas was Dallas and Minnesota in the plane. Dallas and Minnesota.

"Could jump. Larry is responsible. Larry Nance is responsible for me missing all my dunks in the dunk concert. What's that? I was trying to do things that I really couldn't do, but I knew Larry was going to come with some spectacular. So now I went to your own up to that. What was your thoughts about the 84 dunk contest? But cool. You know, it's funny. I mean, I know you're not going to let me out the phone. I know you're not going to let me off this zoom without talking about when you thought you blocked my shot. But anyway, it's funny, they ask you before the contest who you thought was going to win and you picked me. I want to ask you about that because all those people that was in it, you picked me and I'm like, who picked me? I like, well, shit, I gotta wear. You know what Larry did you think about? I knew Doc was up in age now. He was kind of toward the end so Doc was going to steal a high flyer though. David was kind of like up in age two, so I said, okay, the one that probably is going to be more creative, more artistic with his guns. He's going to be Larry. And I mean, the one that impressed me was that what you did, you don't two balls at once. That was exciting. But the one where you kind of like praying with it and went by the basket and reached back and dumped those are the dunks that I tried that and I miss mine, but that right there is what impressed me. And that was the thing I was scared about as we pull up your slam dunk right here. I was some fun time, man, 84, man, that wasn't fun times, but you know, I'm always about winning and everything, and but I just wish if I could do that over, I kind of, this would be the first time I admit that I wouldn't have mind losing. I think Doc should have won because he just it was just set up perfect for him to win that's now goddamn. And it makes history really good if he wins. But knowing me, I have to get out there and try to do my thing too. And I actually wanted to buy a 67 Camaro that I had seen in Phoenix so that's why I needed the money because I wanted to buy this car. You know how much I love cars. But you know, to this day, it would have been cool if dot one, but I'm gonna always compete and do my best, just like you are, you know that. And I think that was the key word there. You competed. And when you compete, you've got to do good things. Go ahead, Ari. The Doc say.

"Welcome to another ridiculous showtime with two insightful BS with my Laker teammates and NBA legends and you know what? Aria, I'm really do mean this. There are players that I truly enjoyed playing against and players that I hated playing against. Larry was kind of caught in the middle for me. I hated his ass, but I also loved him because of the way he played. Everybody welcome Larry Nance. Larry, how you doing? I'm doing good, man. You know, we hate each other because we both competed. And anytime you compete, you know, somebody competing hard again, you ain't gonna love them. That's for sure. But that was good basketball. Hey, Larry, three time your day all stars. NBA all defensive first team. I think they got that wrong, but you still on the list. NBA defensive first team. You did block a lot. Two times in the all defensive second team. NBA slam dunk champion in 84, we're going to talk about that in a second. Number 22 retired by the Cavaliers. I don't even have my high school number retired, man. And 17. ACC, Larry Ness. I just feel Larry that and we'll get into this a little bit more. How does it feel for your son to make more money than you did? And you were the better player, I think. Well, at this point, it doesn't matter. You know, it's funny. I'm sitting in this nice truck right now, because I usually love to go in my truck where it's nice and quiet, but he bought me a new GMC truck dude. So I can't complain about nothing that you do. I mean, I'm not sure who the better player is because he's a little different than me. His defense and court awareness and the name of the way that he played the game is a little different, but no jealousy here. I'm proud of him for sure. That is just him having fun. Larry, tell us about your early years growing up. Who are.

"Like this was a team in need of big change this summer and look like you're not gonna find someone who's a bigger fan of Larry Nance than I am. I am just an enormous fan of the way that he moves the ball. Of the way that he defends. He flies around in hell. He's really, really good on the ball on like four different positions, right? I think the Larry Nance is a winning player, and I generally understood why you go after him, but I think this team needed more structural, bigger changes than that. And then on top of it, like, again, I like Norman Powell. I think Norman Powell's much better suited defensively at the two than he is three. So you're playing small across the back line, you have Larry Nance coming off the bench playing 17 minutes a night..

"Disagreement but flipped I had portland at four and you had them at seven. I think you know kind of a similar. Take that i think we you had on. The warriors flipped with you. What's the case against portland. I mean they were a six seed last year. So it's not like your you know world shocking here by having them at seven item at four. What's your case for having portland but lower in the seating. A as i'm looking at my list. I feel a little too low here. I would probably put them of the clippers and possibly denver supply bump them up to maybe five or six But i mean i. It's a new head coach. I think that i don't know man. There's just something that i feel like. There's something like click for this portland team. Which hasn't in the past. I'm not sure that would the injuries that they've battled right. They didn't have merkich last season. I think that you know lillard and both mccullough miss some games last year. I love the acquisition of larry nance on this team at that power powered position to kind of come. Sure up front court. Imagery norman powell so the more. I'm kind of looking at kind of trending towards where you kind of have them possibly number five for me. But i think this is a big year for portland. Man i think because of what we heard about damian lillard in the off season about him saying that he's committed at least probably for another season with portland so i think that portland is going to be a team that we have to keep an eye on. Cj mccollum someway somehow needs to take a big step in his career. And kind of take some of that pressure off damian lillard because damian lillard had been that guy for the portland trailblazers for having two years now. Cj is good. I mean he's thirty years old now. But i think that he kind of needs to take some that pressure off a cj mccollum. You added a guy lake. Norman powell on this rogers would probably help with that depth. But yeah i'm turning toward saudi at that five six range. I know you have matt number four. Yeah i agree with a lot of what you said about him. I think the dame damn thing has really seemed to quiet down. I think we earlier in the off season. We were looking at his win total. It's like okay this kind of like the rockets last year where it's kind of halfway in between like is going to be going to be there not it i think you know..

"Think tony snell. Just because he's so consistent. I mean he's not flashy. But i could see especially with what they're going to want to do with that second unit and if they're really gonna try to hand the keys to anthony simon's on offense. I see tony. Snell being the guy. But i think this is gonna gonna battle him. I think that's my for me. The most interesting battling camp is what's going to happen with tony style and the little and who can edge the other one out because with a new coach. I just think tony snell's not the guy is gonna go out there and make self inflicted mistakes were necessarily little. You know being a younger player trying to prove himself my back himself into a corner a little bit. But you know. Kevin pelton brought up a very interesting idea as far as you know rolling out a jumbo lineup. And maybe we see a little bit of larry nance junior at the small forward position in certain lineups. And you know. I just haven't seen it before but i you know it's an interesting thought exercise and i'm wondering if it's something that they will try to experiment with At least early in the season. Yeah i mean. Cleveland had some lynam slash year with With especially earlier in the season in love. And and larry nance so. I think it's entirely possible. Obviously i think this will be a little bit better. It'll just depend. How shakes out. But again like i agree like i totally see that and i agree as well on nas because he was a guy. One of the few gripes had with terry stotts last year and just in terms of rotations. Because i've never really had an issue with his rotations. I've always thought he's pretty good job of managing it last year. Though i wanted nas to play more and it didn't happen. I think this year's your that becomes a real rotation guy because you can look up and down the roster. Think they're eight eight. Pretty clearly solidified spots nine. I think if you're including tony. Snell if i can count correctly That's eight or nine. But point being nas unlocks like that last piece where you can say okay. He's playing ten twelve minutes a game. We need somebody else. who can. Maybe that doesn't like like a super size of like talking about or even downsizing you play him at the three rokos at the four. And you have larry at the five like you can do just a lot more..

"Type situation that maybe some people involved in the dynamic would like to be okay so enough sixers propaganda of cast. And we're not gonna do that here but you are bent now. What if okay. I have a question for you. What if all of that. The scenario that you just outlined happens but over in portland they are nine into and i think they have one of the hardest schedules to start the season. Right interesting. and until wrinkle if they come out of the gate and they're looking real good and you know i've really liked that larry nance Jewish for them and that's adding salary to a team. That already has a lot of salary so it would seem to me that they are motivated. Just reading the tea leaves that they are not super interested in taking a major step back as an organization. And so i get. Why philly is obsessed with damian lillard and matching him with embiid. I just don't know how realistic it is. But we'll see it's fun. It's still think the the story of the league right now. i agree with you. I think there. I mean there's no. There's very little expectation. That damian lillard is requested trade anytime she didn't and the larry nance situation helps for sure i think he someone who might end up. Being a big addition that people actually realized like when that when the and down people in league. I talked to you. Arthur brown like portland's offseason looks a little bit better now. Like larry nance could end up being. They're starting power forward. He could be small ball. Fives and second units. Like he's he's very very very valuable defensive piece that they certainly need If shot is they they'll pick a pop guy. Do have room to operate like nancy. Nancy's a player. So yeah i think at this point you're right it's it's it's certainly you know i i wouldn't say dame's got one foot out the door but you know people on the league. They're they're definitely preparing for it because he's been considered to be the most loyal superstar pretty much ever catch us. That's what's the brand and reputation right. This is the first time he's actually something about it and went on record and tried to pick his coach. And he said during las vegas Media availability before tokyo olympics like this roster is not good enough beezer actual moves that someone does when they're trying to show their leveraged They're being serious. They're not just you know plus rated. Yeah so frustrated. So there's there's reason to believe that still happen but you're right it. It's certainly trending towards dame sticking around in portland for the foreseeable future on a scale of one to ten if the brooklyn nets. I'm switching gears here if the brooklyn nets do not win the nba. Championship this season. How surprised would you be well. One thing i've learned covering the league especially with my book is that their so lock and unforeseen variables involved in winning a championship. and From there like the nets for example everyone is jokingly saying right now that like they were kevin durant heel toe. Whatever it was away from the bucks not even making it out of the second round right like that's how his game works when you talk about that rebuilder that a team building strategy was successful. I think that's very A very just like it's two binary. Think like the..

I'm looking forward to it and my brother has one year old I've seen you know what having a kid does to you from From a family standpoint to a mental standpoint is kinda everything you envision especially when able to have a son. So i'm really looking forward to. The challenge is going to be tough my wife. She's gonna have her hands full but we got a lot of help and we've got a lot of family that'll help us kind of get through the the beginning stages but this'll be the best year of my life. Cj as midwest boys we have an nfl kinship. the browns and the lions have both gone winless in in nfl season. Your rounds have vastly improved. How they're going to be. How are they going to be the kansas city chiefs to start to see. Oh i'm a realistic browns fan. I think we've definitely can beat them. But i'm more so looking at how how we come out. First game of the year we're healthy. We got everybody back. Gossip improvements obviously within our roster maternal development. But this is just kind of a measuring. Stick to see where we're at where we need to be towards the end of the season. So i expect expected to be a competitive game win or lose. I'm going to be happy about it. Because i know we're gonna compete. And we're making strides towards a championship caliber team. But i think it will cover the spread for sure. Well we always say that. Success is a function of realistic expectations. What are your realistic expectations for. The portland trailblazers this season for the browns for the my browns look at about twelve win for us. I think we'll be very competitive. I think that we'll continue to do what we've done historically Be great on offense. We'll have improved even a roster. We'll have some more creativity with fresh faces. Obviously in johnston new staff Bringing larry nance have norman powell for full season. Obviously i'll be better damn will be better every anthony. It'll be better coq all the younger pieces that we have. We'll have a chance now. To kinda show their development. I think that will be competing for higher seed and getting into the playoffs and see what happens. Health is is what's really important all sports especially basketball so we got to stay healthy and got newark. Obviously he'll be here from the beginning of the season and that'll be a key piece for our roster with him kinda. Hold things down in the middle. I wanna ask about the progression of your game into a prolific score if particular before before last season you didn't shoot as many threes now. It seems like you're not only taking and making more threes. But they seem comfortable to talk about that. Evolution in your game sat.

This is ridiculous. it's a ridiculous contract seriously. This is like this is like last year's bertin's contract. i mean. there's just no way that you're going to regret that contract. There's no way. I refuse to believe it. Unless he stays healthy big f and unless he becomes. You know some more consistent player which hasn't happened yet either. Like big dude. It's for cleveland fans. I feel bad. Because larry nance judy knew it was just such a good player for them for so long. It's just he's a little bit. Older lowry is only twenty. Four years. old. Larry nance's is i think right. Now twenty twenty-eight he'll turn twenty nine during the season so he's just larry nance is too old and too good for who they are today markkanen. You know it's a risk. It's a major risk very well in in a year or two or three we'll be talking about. This is like what a dumb decision that was. But i do think. I just playing devil's advocate here. Chris for cleveland a team like them. They are not a playoff team right now. Maybe it is worth a little bit of risk here. That if he stays healthy if he becomes more consistent at twenty four years old he can turn into something. Maybe it's worth it. I'm just. I'm playing devil's advocate here. I've never been a larry market in san even before the draft. I wasn't a big fan. Bulls fans ripped me. When i gave the picket f plus but we perspective i understand the risk but like it might turn out to be very dumb all right. Let me Regarding the kevin love thing. I think what's going to happen is eventually you will see somebody be willing to sacrifice a pick probably not a good one but maybe late later. First rounder one of these good teams that thinks. "It's again a lot easier said than done. It's not like they're were moves out there. It's not like they had a ton of space etcetera etcetera. I just don't think this is the the move that's going to convince dame stay or dramatically changed the seam sealing so much that now he's more inclined to stay. I think it can help them for sure. I mean i'm a huge. Larry nance junior fan and he gives you that. I'm thinking about the playoffs. Mostly when i think about Additions like this and just his ability to give you more positional flexibility at the five in smaller lineups you could play him and robert covington as a front court with powell. Cj and dame and i think your defense would still probably struggle a little bit but their defense to get that much worse either way so yes. It was one of the worst defensive time last season at. But i think he is. I think that in combined with a couple of the other signings that they made that were more defensively focused and also the players that they lost and his canter carmelo anthony. I mean derek. Junior was signed basically for his defense and then just unplayable interior view in the playoffs so from that perspective you know maybe they if they had larry nance junior in that series against denver they win. It's just he makes it very hard for you to even trap pick and roll says well because of his playmaking and his bounciness in verve a little bit. So it'll be interesting to see. I think and i like the move from them. I i don't really like too much of their other decisions from this off season but this bolsters their bench a little bit and gives them a little bit more versatility flexibility. The other team involved here is the chicago bulls. And i guess. I'll just quickly frame this to you as why did chicago. Not just take. Larry nitsch junior back from cleveland in this trade and just kind of keep the portland trailblazers out. What do you think the rationale is there. I imagined have to do something with the pick. Compensation right i mean. They've been sending a lot of first round picks lately. This is probably the only way to recruit some of those although it sounds like the protections on them might be pretty heavy so to me i. It's funny. I was wondering that exact same thing as you were talking about this to me. That's the only way that it makes senses. They wanted to get some picks back in by basically taking the a. I feel bad saying the worst player in the deal but maybe the least sexy player in the deal that was their way of getting some some graphics out of it as well..

So this is a deal that makes a lot of sense for the Portland trailblazers. I actually think that it doesn't totally reshape their team, but it fills multiple holes in a way that the off season prior to this acquisition just did not. I would be terrified if I was the Portland trailblazers prior to this Larry dance deal of going into a season with just use of nurkic and Cody zeller as my bigs. And Larry Nance is not an enormous big man by any stretch. And I think that if one of Yusuf nurkic or Cody zeller gets hurt, the blazers are probably gonna have to sign a true center in order to counteract that. The problem for Portland here is that that true center is something that is important in their scheme. So to have only gone into this off season prior to this deal having Cody zeller and Yusuf nurkic on the roster. I think was kind of a strange move given their injury histories. it, on the wing, they really only went out and got Tony Snell, and I know that Tony Snell had a great year last season shooting the ball. I think he went 50 50 like 95 or something like that from the free throw line because of limited attempts. But he's a very limited player. He's a decent three and D guy. He probably will be able to be their 8th man, but this is a team that even with Larry Nance, I think is still ripe for a shake up in some regard. The team is now given Norman Powell this 5 year $90 million deal in addition to the enormous deals given out the Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. And I don't know that we know if those three can play together on a playoff court, quite yet. While Norman Powell is extremely long and has a 7 foot wingspan and his strong for his size, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum and Norman Powell across the front line or across the backcourt seems like a way for teams to get their bigger shot making wings in the playoffs matched up on to smaller players that they can take advantage of. Now, what acquiring Larry Nance does is it allows you to counteract that by taking one of Lillard McCollum, Powell off the court and in this case it would probably be Powell. It also counteracts for potential injuries, which CJ McCollum only played about 50 games last year. So I think that being able to play a more traditional lineup because you have Larry Nance now that can play the four. Is specifically helpful..

"Did pig. Stay for chicago here. They get something they get a first round pick dirk jones's solid had to have another athletic wing play on their team and pick pretty good. I mean i. I like the chicago actually i out of this. That's a win me. And it's because of larry nance that's why because how how valuable he can be to portland. I'm telling you. I've been on the language barriers. Dear plus larry nance and portland. That's big. i like big. I get a lot and yet they're zuhdi d- ask it for much. He could be kind of. The rowley was in miami. You know play if they needed him to be able to play in portland the bulls with what they got. They don't need him to be able to play. And larry ants down pitches. You darkest you gotta work it out because you guys you gotta get on the same page into nurtures minutes. Let's have a little koumba ya. Oh that's what you're going to start. What they should do is get rid of the. That's the thing though they complain together because nancy's improved so much shooter. He can space to floor. And which is off the floor now. They have a guy that can use as a small five. It's a it's a big acquisition for portland is like i said isn't enough to make dame wanna stay isn't enough to make him a candidate contender. I dunno i. We'll see how this works out in the house. Some of their younger guys also prove simon's and little like these younger guys to get better to but it nyeri nance junior is a more important acquisition than i think. People realize on the surface because he was so underrated and overlooked in cleveland. I agree with you. We agree we agree on. We agree on that. Yes the lower markkanen part where a little bit iffy on. Top of the mailbag.

"I was actually just say with chris wittingham before this one of our first pandemic shows like we had you guys zooming into the show and now with all this hope in the air champions league final hopefully this is one of the last pandemic episodes of chelsea mike duck and we're coming full circle here with two of our favorites josh. Hart and larry nance at a minister with josh because josh you're wearing the chelsea shirt right now it seems as though you're twitter account is now just exclusively dedicated to getting new seats to the champions league final my reading that situation right a little bit you know sell my soul. My friends was trying to get. I think actually was going to be able to get us tickets but immigration thing was a whole another situation so now it's just like i'll be there in spirit. Well you might have spirit that you've got you've been i mean i've seen all the nba photos of you walking into the arena. You're always wrapping the blues in. Larry nance has been probably enjoying it from the sidelines area. Congratulations on what was a very good season. I know you had battles throughout injury but the first proper football question here as we gear into the final. This has been weird season for all athletes..

"I think unlike any individual this manchester city side. Yes guardiola team. And it's and it's the full way that all eleven players interact with each other and the movements and the ability to keep the ball. It's beautiful when it comes off. But when it doesn't a star individual moment and kevin brown. I'd say more than any manchester city player by a decent amount is capable of summoning it and so how chelsea handle kevin de bruyne. You mentioned georgina ability to get in his way in that. Fa cup semifinal. That'll be really huge again. Because kevin dubrow can change this game and he was sensational in the last primarily game against everton although that was just a a runaway five nil. That probably didn't matter much for either team but he's the player and so how do chelsea handle that. We'll get into our formal predictions in the final segment of the show. But let's talk to a couple true blues. I'm bringing out the top lucky charm guns that i've got a my sleeve here for this finals preview episode. We're going to the nba. It's nba playoff time. Here in the states. Josh hart and larry nance you know them if you're a chelsea supporter you know them as must follows because they're always tweeting about chelsea. They know the game quite well and they're going to be at the edge of their seats for this final. I know josh. Hart have been trying to actually be literally in a seat at that final. He's just. He has no shame about his twitter again. He's a begging for seats right now. So maybe well as about that ends up going to the final. Two friends of the show josh. Hart in larry nance it's kind of apropos. I think our first pandemic episode chelsea mike depp. We talked to. Larry nance and josh hart and now that there's all this hope here in this country across the world with vaccine distribution is this the pandemic run of chelsea. Mic'ed up coming to an end. If so a perfect chapter end josh. Hart and larry nance coming your way.

"On experience in my best leaders. You look at the chain of command from captain vice captain on down. I want all those people in the lineup. Gimme christian sin on that back line all roll the dice on his fitness. Because i want to ask me in that wingback role. I want my captain there. I want to iago silva out there to help shoulder that burden on that back line rudiger's lock that spot down tremendous around for the player. Chill really coming on as of late as a wingback. So i like chill will ruediger silva christianson as quetta. We're in agreement there. That's your best alignment of five in my opinion at this point. I don't want to just gloss over the goalkeeper because this is the decision in some respect to because he's got bruised ribs. That's an injury that will affect the goalkeeper. But i think you've got to roll it out with many there too. Yeah yeah he's definitely one where if he's even somewhat fit which if you're training on wednesday before a match on saturday you're somewhat fit. He's got to give it a go and he summoned. I would say the odds spectacular save hasn't really had to make too many but in a moment in which you know in a championship going into manchester city. They're going to be able to get some opportunities. You'd think a spectacular save you think will be required at some point and mendi as the most likely to provide mendy being back. There is a different dynamic. You want to have that if you're chelsea and him some and that kind of moment imagine to keep you in or preserve a lead or preserve draw going into extra time. He's the one out there and kept us shruggled in cup finals. In a chelsea shirt he gets beat from distance. You want to have a bigger body out there because certainly manchester city have the attacking talent to put it up or ninety on you. And we've seen kepi from distancing goals that are like if he's just a couple of inches taller like ward mendy..

Podcast might have picked up on an interesting little sub current to this recording. This final that makes it extra interesting. What you're talking about all right. Let's talk about the champions league. Final now threaten you with a history of what got chelsea to this point. And i'm a batman fan. I'm good on seeing batman origin stories. I kind of know the deal. Same spiderman. I appreciate it. I don't like that we continually change rights fees holders. That way i got to see uncle. Ben die over and over again ben dying so i think you know how chelsea got here. How did they get here. They won their champions league games. That that's they got here. They advanced beyond reality drid in the semifinal which was a massive achievement for this club if you really pulled me before the season and any emotional chelsea fan getting out of the round of sixteen might have been the height of a lot of people's expectations chelsea find themselves here as a fourth-place finisher premier league it was. We were sweating it out to the very last second in the final match. We got the season even qualify for next year's competition. So you know your boy. Mike ryan does not take this final four granted the fact that chelsea find themselves here in this game against the class of the english premier league manchester city. It's an unbelievable achievement in itself. Well when you talk about clubs pride in themselves on winning trophies for me the trophies to win every year are the primarily in the champions league s the fa cup and the cup have important role to play in the history of english football. But in my view when you're talking about the very biggest clubs and what they set out to do every year..

Lakers Defeat Cavs As Buyout Market Heats Up
"Got a win and it was a good win. It was just a solid win where they got it done with defense 102 eighty-six. They get the double years old friend Larry Nance Jr. For the Cavs. My goodness, 17 points ten boards five assists nice outing for him. Great to see great dude, Larry Nance Jr. But it was the Lakers who really stole the show in the second half Murphy Flores coming up big for the Lakers 13 points. Don't normally see him in double-digits five boards plus a block three of seven from Deep kuzma only four points, but eight boards and seven assists again finding ways to log in even when he's not scoring so you gotta like that they're from him but 17 points from Dennis Schroder probably the story of the game four steals seven. It says five boards for of 10 shooting out for of Sorry 7 or 12 shooting my screen skipped a bit. They're seven of twelve shooting one of two from the three-point line two of two from the free throw line for steals seven turn off, but he had the ball in his hands pretty much the entire game whenever he was on the floor. He had the ball. So I guess we'll forgive him from that. But is he going to get paid? We need to talk a little bit about that cuz I'm getting a bit nervous about the job situation. And then of course Montrezl Harrell, ho-hum. Just doing Montrezl Harrell. Thanks 24 and 10. Come on mantras ten or fifteen shooting. Imagine. If you shot better than fifty percent from 3/4 of a table. I'm sorry from the free throw line for of eight from the free throw line tonight. That's not going to get it done. But seven offensive boards 10 boards and seven of them are on the offensive end just more amazing stuff from my name is Harold gotta love that.

A Deep Dive Into Rudy Gobert After the Jazz Lose To Denver
"Talk about Rudy. Gobert. What? What do we want to know about mr. Gaubert because I thought before today and obviously today is Sunday. I thought before the day that he was running away with the defensive player of the year award. And then today happened today happened. I would not go as far as running away with the defensive player wage. I thought he was running away. I thought it was a significant gap between him and everybody else. So I totally understand why you would say that their top five and defense coming into town today. They're really really good team Utah. They are arguably playing better before today than anybody in the NBA just point blank. Especially now that the Lakers have hit like off a bit of a bit of a malaise having said that I'm still saying Anthony Davis Ford Prince of player of the year because they've number one defense and he's the one the keys the number one defense in the NBA off. He's by far the most versatile defender in the NBA Rudy I think is a reasonable like honestly probably would be second for me right now Myles Turner has a case sneaky class that I've been advocating as much as I can Larry Nance would probably be in my top five right now. He is the whole reason that the Cavs have a reasonable defense. Yep. Right now a top-10 defense, but I digress nonetheless Rudy gobert has been very very good for the Utah Jazz this year and I thought that Utah's games this week. We're kind of a perfect encapsulation of the Rudy gobert experience against Dallas. He was the reason that they just come holy month and utterly annihilated the Mavericks in both of those games and I watched the first one close cuz I bet on Dallas because Utah was without Donovan Mitchell was without a favors and Dallas was getting back Dorian finney-smith was getting back to like Powell. I thought that they'd take that energy and catch you too on the back end of a back-to-back and be kind of run away with that game and that absolutely one hundred percent was the wrong side to be on and in large part. It was because of the incredible grass. City that Rudy gobert holds as a pick-and-roll offensive threat, he is completely obliterated kristaps porzingis in that in those two games like butterwood obliterated him like wipe them off the face of the Earth on both ends. He averaged 23 points and 16 rebounds. He had like three blocks. He had a couple of steals. He was dead thing that people who are Jazz fans and that yell from the rooftops about Rudy. Gobert. He was everything in those two games that people say about Rudy being like a top-12 impact player in the NBA. You'll hear sometimes in this game today against Denver Nikola jokic made him look like a parking cone on defense and
