"Them like a drone, so. Look at the Motorola falling out of the sky. Look at the Motorola falling out of the sky. A lot of old takes there from Larry Munson. I believe that Georgia game 82 when he did look at the sugar falling out. Yeah, it was somewhere somewhere over there. One of the great calls of all time by the legendary Larry and coffee town at the CFP west never disappointing. Thanks so much for your time. That was fantastic. Thank you, Paul. Take care. Wes will be signing copies of that video in Tuscaloosa, Saturday morning. Security is available. We will take a short break, more to come in your phone calls right after this. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. The guests, Justin Ferguson, a couple of minutes, talk about auburn, heading to the college World Series. Michael Katz covers on this. So we have a writers from both of the teams that will be playing each other. We may get a football question or two in as well. We had a question of the day, so what's the best play in college football history you've ever seen in person? How about this? Gus on. Two words. Kick 6. Wow. You talk about throwing some shade at Alabama. Wow. That's Gus mills on of the UCF, by the way. That might all do respect. I think that's the funniest thing I've ever heard Gus Mel's own say. Okay. Now that we've said that, let's check out John in Louisville. Hello, John. Hey, good afternoon. And I love AC. He effectively mixes smack with ramp, but if you could slow him down, I know he's from New Jersey. I can't pick up everything he's saying. Geico asks how would you love a chance to save some money on car insurance? Of course he would, and when.

"By Jimbo and by Nick Saban about each other. But not many specifics were given by either for all of your research and reporting and everybody you've talked to. Have you been able to find any specifics from either side that backup with these coaches have accused the others of? I mean, this is part of the problem, right? The whole point, the game is to avoid specifics. The more nebulous, the more secondhand you make everything, the safer it is to if not walk right up to the line, maybe sprint right across it. That's how the game is played. And so Jim O Fisher can sit there and be adamant and say, none of my guys got anything and also say, I don't know anything about it. That's not my job. I mean, there's clearly stuff going on behind the scenes. And a lot of this comes down to don't ask, don't tell a little bit of like, hey, I don't want to know what you're giving a guy and what you're giving it to him for. Just I'm happy to see that this guy's here. You don't tell me. I won't tell you. I always used to laugh and Jimbo was particularly adept at doing this that they show up for like a Monday press conference and you'd ask about an injury thing and he'd say, well, I haven't talked to the doctors yet. And that was because he purposely scheduled his doctors beating to be after the media meeting. So he didn't have to answer that question. That's kind of how all of this works. Which is brilliant work by him. Hey, I won't pitch you in on the worst because I don't want you to mention to blow up. Do you have a favorite SEC tradition from all of those stadiums you've been in? Oh my gosh, there's so many great ones. I've been to a lot of awesome fun events. I mean, war eagle at auburn is awesome. And especially like, there was the one time that the war eagle just kind of like flew away and went and I was hanging out and like the upper deck. That was my favorite. One of my favorite things of all time is too. I used to cover Georgia and when they show the video before the game like the Georgia highlights and Larry Munson's voice over it and every time when I go goes up to bite the auburn player on that highlight and the whole crowd before the game is even started like roars its approval for it. Like there's just a little things that are so perfect about. And so encapsulating of what being an SEC fan is all about. And I'm sure I could probably come up with like a dozen for almost every school. Follow him on Twitter at David Hale joint, David, I tell you all the time, man. Super fan of your work because you make us all smarter. Thanks for hanging out with me. My pleasure. Thanks for having me. That's great work by him. And really smart stuff on name image likeness, a complicated issue. It's not as complicated to get you guys to figure out your favorite and least favorite traditions, a bunch you want to hang on, want to tell me, so I'll let you guys get in next on the show. We'll take your thoughts on all things, favorite and least favorite SEC traditions coming up next, Paul fine bombshell, Jason Fitz, filling in for Paul..

"Moon out and someone goes, oh, saggy. And now your self esteem is crushed. There you go. So that is the reason enough. Not to do it. Well, I don't know what else is on this man's bucket list. But I hope he's able to get through all the items and doesn't get arrested again. Straight ahead. The things your cat knows OMG. A peak inside the animal kingdom it's bob and sherry. You read it once. I don't believe that. And then you're ready to go. I can't believe this. It's bob and cherries. I don't believe this. I believe this. Well, I accidentally made bob sad earlier in the show today when I told him that today is my dog Sam Nash's 15th birthday and that Sam has gotten very old and confused and bob's like, why don't we just play old yeller for the rest of the show? Are you depressing? I'm sorry. I can't borrow that. I just can not borrow it. So here is some exciting news from the animal kingdom. It's something cats know that it's going to shock you. Cats not only know their own names. And they know your name, but if they have cat Friends, they know their cat Friends names and they can recognize their cat friends when they're shown a picture. Does that touch shut you down completely? Think about that. Yeah, that really does because calling a cat. I mean, she's going to come when she wants to come. You know, it's like, I can say Finn, and he's there. Most of the time. Why would she come when you call her? All she ever hears you say is she's not my cat. She's Mary's cat. I'm not a cat. That is not true. That is not true. I complaining about her. Litter box. I feed her. I clean her litter box. I mean, what I do for that cat. When I say it's time, it's time to eat key key, nothing. I fed my ex-husband and cleaned his box, and he knew I didn't like him best, so he did not come when I called him. They know, okay? They know. Here's what cats know. They know the name of their owners. They know their own names, and cats who live with at least two other pets, also know the other cats names, and they recognize pictures of their little feline Friends. And I live with a bunch of animals, and I know this. I'll say to Larry Munson comes when I call them and be like, Larry, mine's saying come here and he'll come trotting in from wherever he is. And I'll be like, you go get Tiberius and play with him. And he'll go over and take a whack Tiberius. They all know each other's names. They all know each other's faces. And this is something we never knew about cats before, that when you show them a picture of one of their cat Friends, they're like, yeah, yeah, that's my cat friend. And they can tell that they track how long they look at the picture and what their eyes do and stuff. And one theory for this is they said it could have to do with competition. Cats who live with other cats are very conscious of who's getting food and who gets more food and who doesn't get more food and who gets treats. And so they learn all of this so they can keep up with each other's business. Which sounds like something people would do, right? Yes. Exactly. That's complicated. I'm surprised. It's very complicated. And it's fascinating too to think that they know their own names and their friends and everything. But here's something that's also fascinating. Somebody sat down and turned the imagined dragon song believer into believer as sung by cats and we're going to play a little bit of it just to reward this.

"I'm a 1987 graduate of university of North Carolina. I grew up there. I took a job here in Alabama about 20 years ago, so I've been here ever since and lived on Logan Martin Lake now here. If you're familiar with that, I think you should live here, I believe. I did. Now I live in North Carolina. So we swapped. You know, and for the first few years, I wouldn't sell it on Birmingham, but now that I'm all out of Logan Martin Lake, I grew up on high rock, like in Salisbury, if you happen to. Salisbury, it's a beautiful place. Yeah. So anyway, that's not the reason I call it the reason I call it is talk about my tar heel basketball team. I don't really have a lot to talk about on the football side. Just at this moment, hopefully they'll put it back together. But you know, in the beginning of the season and probably all the way through pretty much January, they were never ranked. They were never on any of the ESPN shows. They just, they were really just kind of almost like burning the garbage. You know, and that's just not normal for tar heel basketball. And then all of a sudden, come about light February early morning. They just kind of got on a roll. And just, you know, just really put it together and obviously a tar hill will smile a long time for a whole year when they beat duke twice the same year. Well, yeah, I have a lot of neighbors who are tar heel fans, so I paid a lot of attention to it. And I will say this about Hubert Davis. I know it sounds cliche, but I've never seen a team play harder for a coach. And that means that they believe in him and they truly embraced him as he has embraced him. It was a remarkable run. I know you came up short, but it was really spectacular. Gibb, thank you very much. Unfortunately, we're almost at the end of the show. If we don't break now, we will never get it in, but thanks for calling. We're coming back. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. The Paul fine bomb show airs weekdays on the SEC network beginning at three eastern. Well, come back as we head to David and Georgia hello, David. Hello, Paul. How are you doing? We are doing great. Thank you for calling. It's an honor to talk to you, son. You got the best show out there. You and I are about the same age. I heard a color earlier talk about Lindsey Nelson. Did you ever hear any interaction with. Ari? With Larry, yes sir? Yes, I did. I had the opportunity to meet him a number of times coming over to Athens or seeing him in various games. And I mean, obviously, as you would imagine, there was quite an age differential, but I was in awe of him. I had to listen to him from the very beginning. And I will forever say that if I had one game left to listen to, I would want Larry Munson to do the game. Yeah, you know, it was great. I'm old enough to remember when we wanted championship back in Haiti. If we could only have Larry to call that game this year, would have made it even better. You just came up with a really, somebody should. I mean, I know a number of guys that do Larry Munson invitations, imitations. That would be really a funny recreation, and I guarantee a dogs would eat it up. Absolutely. Well, thanks. Thank you. You got the best share on the radio, buddy. Well, that means a great deal to all of us here. Thanks for saying that. You take care of yourself. DJ pip and tea town. Yo, yo, yo, what's up, Paul? How are you doing today? What's happening with you? Nothing much, just enjoying this day. Hey, I had a question for you. I was actually wondering if you covered the 1992 national championship game. I most certainly did in New Orleans. Proud to say, okay. Wow, that's pretty cool. I was wondering if maybe the kind of set up the story for me for how that season got to that game and why that game is so special. Yeah, Alabama. What's interesting about that season is that Alabama really was not impressive offensively. You know they had a great defense with the bookends Copeland and courage. They nearly lost, I believe. I think it took a David Palmer punt return to beat Louisiana tech. They struggled in some other games. I remember being in Mississippi one night. They had to come from behind. And it was often said as they moved up from the polls when they were 6, 5, four, three, everybody said they're the worst number three team. Worst number two team. And they won that game before the game because the Miami players talked so much trash not only publicly but to Alabama players in the quarter. There's some famous stories about that that I think Alabama was just determined and gene stallings met with a few reporters before the game and he said, we're going to win this game. And I ended up picking Alabama to win, which was a long shot, but I felt the energy and it was just an extraordinary night. We'll talk about it a little bit more tomorrow when we have time. We're out of time. We will see you on good Friday. Thanks for joining us..

"You knew everything about them. You depended on them. And I know everyone, everyone says, I listen to the radio and watch the game. It's very difficult to do considering there is a differential on the time and the relay. But I think it's a lost art. I think the Larry Munson is the John wards, the John forney's keyword ledford from Kentucky, one of my favorites of all time. Absolutely. If you were a Tennessee fan, you knew everybody else's broadcaster. Today, you know your guy and that's it. You don't know anybody else's. To see what they did, Paul was they gave you a visual when you listen to those guys on the radio. You can almost visualize the green grass and the pale orange jerseys and the crimson. I asked John 40 once this was just a brilliant guy. He was a writer and he told me that he felt like the difference between his era and the era that came after him was really the command of the language. And today it's because all the all the broadcasters today and they don't have to be young. They could be my age. They all grew up watching television. They didn't have to describe the game like you do now. In that era, you started the broadcast. It's a cool crest afternoon here at Neil and stadium. The skies are partly cloudy, the temperatures. I mean, you described everything like you were writing an essay for the fans. And I don't think there's a lot of that that goes on anymore. No, there's not. And really and truly, don't you miss what energy losers? Absolutely. It was a fantastic show. Hey, thank you so much for calling. Do appreciate it. Let's check out Trey, who is in Tuscaloosa, hello, Trey. How are you doing, Paul? Trey, we are doing great. You and me both Paul, I just took some ribs off the smoker sat down, been drinking a couple of blue moons. And talk to you. One of these days. One of these days, Trey, the two of us are going to be sitting together on your patio, watching some clown host this show. As long as it's not Jim host in the show. I guess you didn't hear. That announcement is coming tomorrow that Jim from Tuscaloosa is replacing me as of Thursday afternoon. Well, there's always a tomorrow, so I don't have anything to worry about. Tomorrow. Hey, hey, Paul. We got this war going on prices are high inflation high. Urban Meyers in the news. Oh, Carson's been in the news. Kentucky lost in basketball. Could I go not couldn't have picked a better time to get drunk and drive. Could he poll I ain't heard a word about him. Pete who? You know, the guy that does the Alabama defense coordinator. Oh, I have not heard his name since Indianapolis. You must be talking about something I missed. Well, come on now, Paul, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I just don't know what you've heard anything. 'cause I've been into the blue moon. No, no. There's nothing going on there. I think you'll find that case neatly tied up. I don't see, I don't think we're going to hear about it again. Well, I just hope he has a better defense than what he did last year. Here's what Pete did. He offered the judge instead of instead of instead of finding him, he offered to let him call the defense for the first game of the season. And then he's done for the rest of the year. And the judge said the judge said, I'm not going to penalize you, but I think I can do a better job than you did. Well, that's all I really want to know today, Paul, is what's happened with Pete goading. I mean, he just picked a good time. Well, I can tell you, I can tell you Pete was in his office this morning getting ready for the next season. Oh, I thought she was going to tell me sipping on some vodka. No, no. Not at all. You're just in that happy hour. It's only four, it's only 4 o'clock in the afternoon. What are you, what are you doing drinking already? Well, I just thought I'd be like Larry today. Okay. I'm trying my Larry mood. You know? Let me tell you this. I feel like we're good friends..

"Jekyll island and all those places were all those dog people have got these condominiums for four days. Man, is there going to be some property destroyed tonight? And the inimitable Larry Munson 41 years ago right behind where we sit here stadium has changed with the location remains the same as we are in Jacksonville, final Friday of October and you know what that means. It's time for the Florida Georgia game and we can't wait. We have been here pretty much about the last 6 years other than last year, of course. And it is always a party and as always a great time. So we thank you for being a part of the program. Welcome to Jacksonville. Welcome to the weekend. And the skies have just cleared it. It was raining a few minutes ago, but it doesn't stop the fact that the Georgia Florida game is a rivalry. We're title dreams often go up in smoke. So this is a chart here for those of you watching and I'll describe it for those of you who aren't Gators, number three coming in here. George and number 5 and O 5. Back in O two, Georgia saw a season go up and smoke. What about 85? Remember that season? 7 O and one. Yeah. And of course 66, that was four years. Heisman year he mentioned it the other day. What happened in Jacksonville? Yeah, it's a pretty unique deal. It's the second time we're going to play the number one team in the same season. Not many people usually get to do that. That doesn't happen very often. And especially in a regular season. So. I think it would be a pretty big game for our guys. Obviously, this is always the Florida Georgia games always a big game for our guys. This game's not about rankings has never been about rankings. It's a rival game. Our kids understand that one of their losses was to Alabama in which they played a really good game at home, had an opportunity to win and then two road games. So it's not about records and don't think it ever is. It's a lot more about what we do, not about records. And Kirby smart and Dan Mullen talking about the big game, Georgia, about a two touchdown favorite, not that that has ever mattered in this conscious. There's another big game tomorrow night. Probably not getting the attention it deserves, but all mist traveling to auburn. The consequences are monumental, but contrast between lane kiffin and Brian. Those guys make plays. They play hard on special teams, and so you can tell they're well coached. This is important to him. They've had some good momentum. They created in games. They played in some tough environments. It would be awesome if our defense kept playing like this and we could play to our defense. I think that, you know, we're a good team that could be great. We definitely have our attention and our guys are looking forward to having a great week of practice. And then getting themselves ready to go play, I guess, a really good football team on Saturday night. So it's really interesting if all this can get past this game and the FBI is not crazy about them. How about next week, hey, Q freeze. He's the coach at liberty. Do you think he knows his way around vot Hemingway? Big favor there. They would be a favorite at home against a and M overwhelming favorite against Vanderbilt. And yes, they would even be favored on the road in the egg bowl. So this is critical for all myths. They win this game. They've got a shot. At going 11 and one, would that be enough to get them some playoff consideration? Perhaps. And don't forget, auburn is an interesting position as well. When tomorrow, and then they head to a and M next, we've got a big game looming in the future. Well, we mentioned that we are here and what are we going to do today? How about Tim Tebow in a couple of minutes? You think that will get some folks here excited? I better will. Chris Fowler. He is up in Big Ten country at Columbus. Molly McGrath and auburn, Thomas Davis, former all American at Georgia, all pro for the Panthers. On the sideline for the mister B state, game against Kentucky, Mike Griffith makes a in campus appearance. We're an off campus appearance. We saw him two three weeks ago at Athens, Roman Harper drops by in a couple hours. Lar? McGee? Couple of Gators right there. Well, not a guy, Midori, as he'll look ahead and pick the games of tomorrow. Let's get to some calls. We start with pat, who was in Georgia. Hey pat, good afternoon. Hey, Paul, thanks. By the way, trick or treat. I love the way you open the show with Larry Munson's greatest call. This Halloween weekend, I think the scariest thing in the SEC is Kirby's marks, George the defense. And I think that says it all sets and it'll play most of the game and the annual forget a little playing time to getting back into shape. Florida, they're going to use both quarterbacks and it won't be enough. It'll be 45 ten. Go dogs. What do you think? Thanks, pat. Yeah, pat I haven't made a final determination yet, but let's say party Marty or Marty party or however you want to call himself. Marty, what do you got? Hello, professor fine bomb. It's a pleasure to be here on the saving network. I don't get the call very. Thank you, because you know, we have jobs and our cases are in school. So we can hang around the sale of our control like some of the other regulars. But Paul, I just want to ask you a couple questions. I'm trying not to feel overconfident how bad the Gators are going to beat Georgia tomorrow and time to stomp on the dog's hard again. Like in the old spur of your year, I was there all 11 coats for your gains within victory. You should have won a 97 too. But Paul, you know, the door to people were so cocky because the last time they won the national championship, Jimmy Carter was president. So I guess we've got the second coming and Jimmy Carter so they think they got a chance. This year, but it's not going to happen. And I think if you're going to show clips, why don't you show some clips of Chris Doran school and will must camp in the 94 and the 95 games? You get to flip that person if I love to see that. But you know, Paul, I think it's the same thing I told you last year is the same old bulldog, the same YM B, you know what that stands for, don't you Paul? Why MB? I don't know that, no, tell me. Your mama's bulldog and it's time. Gator's bio over 14. Baby Tebow takes over. Don't be fun. Thanks Paul. John is up next in Louisville, hey John, go ahead. Oh my gosh, how do I follow that up other than he needs a drug test? Anyways, I do miss it. I used to live in panavia for years and I always remember that George of fans coming down the day before they really take over. But did you read the SIR code today titled college leaders to have go over expansion with $450 million on the line? Yeah, I did. And there's a lot of sentiment right now, John that the ACC, the Big Ten and the PAC 12 are pushing hard for this at this meeting next week for an 8 team playoff as opposed to a 12. And it would cost cost everybody a fortune. Yeah. 450 million because if they get 8 teams, apparently that's doesn't.

"Here's bob and sheri the bob and jeri show twice as nice with bob. Can you help me out here please. Because i'm dying and sherry. Yeah we know now broadcasting from the palatial bob and sheri studios. It's bob and sheri apologize right off the jump I'm a hot mess and the show hasn't even began. Here's why got up this morning. It's a dogs out. Fed everybody makes coffee. Took a sour came down to my little studio sat down. Booted up all my gear. And i'm sitting looking at my ipad and it's the my screen. My screen lock is on picture of my katie. Best friend larry munson. And it's showing me the time and showing me the date. And i'm looking now. This is early early. So it's like five forty eight a. m. wednesday august eighteenth. And i'm staring at that. And i'm like something's wrong here and then it hit me. Our wedding anniversary was august sixteenth. And we both forgot it. Oh how and we already. How many years. Seven a which is exciting. Because i've never made it that far in a marriage so you think crite fireworks will be going off in champagne. Corks now in our defense We have a lot going on. We have newborn preemies twins in our family. We have two kids. Pack one kid moved out this weekend. The other kid is packing up We have another family member with two family members that are pregnant We got a lot going on a lot going on but we both completely missed our wedding anniversary. And part of the reason. I think is that our ritual how we celebrate was kinda hijacked by covert so last year. We didn't get to do what we typically do around our anniversary and this year we didn't even try. And so between that and moving and babies and both like both of us take turns being over there to help with feedings. We just. We missed our anniversary. And and so i. I started to cry and text it. My husband who was outside doing something unlike our anniversary we missed it. I'm so sorry. Happy anniversary. And and i could hear after i hit reply about ten seconds later i heard the door open and close and pounding footsteps running through the house to get down here and he's like stop crying. It's okay and you know like i. I can't this is no way to live like what what is this. What is this life when you're so overwhelmed and stressed out that you you lose track of your wedding anniversary. I was in the same situation. We've been married for eleven years now and Merry said. I made reservations for our anniversary and i went. Oh good. i'm really glad that you did make it for our anniversary. That was that was. I'm sorry i didn't. But i know it's coming up so that's good that we're going to go out. It had it had escaped me up until then a few days before it. You know it's easy to do when you have got all of these things with a job with kids and spend a few years. It's not like oh. We're celebrating two years together. I mean after a wild seven ten eleven. You still want to be focused on it but it is easier to just missing once in a while. You won't miss next time. Well you know the funny thing is is that a couple of weeks ago. I was like it'll be our anniversary i should because we go to the same restaurant every year for anniversary and we used to try to go away for the weekend. Just the two of us that we've lost that couple years now so i. I went to make a reservation at the restaurant and they were like. We're not accepting reservations. This far out it was was about three weeks out right so can you. Can you call back a little closer. Okay and then. I get busy and you forget and then i just completely lost the thread and i'm trying. I'm trying to make certain things a priority in my life and that's one of them and we both just completely screwed it up. And i just feel like what am i like what. What am i doing like. I'm just grinding my way through the days and for what you know. I'm just sick. That that i missed it and it's not like i'm the only one who missed it. He missed it too. But what does it say about our lives that this is this guy not sustain. It's it's a lot better that you both missed it. Then one of you missed it. I'll tell you that much i know from. There's no blame to go around there even if even if it isn't really aggressive. There's there's no blame you you you don't wanna be the one who forgets some. My my anniversary was two days ago. I just realized it now like less than an hour ago. What did we do that day. Like i don't even know what we did that day. I it's completely gone. It's our lives are just filled with so many pain in the butt things we have to do like. I thought there was nothing that this house needed. You know we've been in it now for over a year and then i walked into the kitchen and in the kitchen. There's this some sort of vent thing and it looks like it's out of the nineteen fifties but it's not but it's it's this circular vent and i never could understand what it did because it doesn't pull smoke up i'm going. What is that thing. Well it's a thing that leaks that's what it is. It's it's there to leak and that's not going to be good and it's not going to be cheap and i gotta call somebody so you would probably just involved with things like that either family members you thicker so many and it just becomes overwhelming because you got a little fires to put out all the time and so the remembrance of something like an anniversary takes the back seat but you know what if i've learned anything in my Mistake adult adult life is. "Lost a great folks in the last few days. Doc airs that Don't think we recognize the doc. Earlier on her broadcast. Phil Jones just passed away. Yes. So sorry about that. And of course, we lost Bobby Green playing on the 1959. S E. C championship team just died earlier This week. We lost Terry Kay former sports writer. Way might have mentioned him on our last broadcast again. Remember? And then we lose. Phil Niekro, Great Georgia fan and his kids went to Georgia, so we wish filling were filled with them. Nancy. Beautiful lady. And a beautiful person was just so sorry to lose such a gentleman. I don't think he ever said no. Didn't you request? No, not see the things that knocks he did for me early in my career when I was 25 years old and you know, just starting out in Atlanta. And it's like people. I was competing against her. Dan Patrick, Brad Nessler, Larry Munson and Skip Carey and Steve Home and where the people I was competing against them. The things that knocks he did for me early and And I reached out to John Niekro. He and I have had conversations this week and definitely condolences. But back to you, Greg. Work just so grateful for you. And you look more relaxed, My friend. We've known each other Ah, lot of decades and you look more relaxed now that I've seen you since you were about 26 years old. "To you by George your power. Georgia and Auburn, and the deep sounds longest running rivalry. It's almost 100 years just about as long as these two teams have been playing football, they have been playing one another. We are live from Jordan here Stadium here in Auburn right at the 30 yard line. On a perfect day for football, I think Lauren down below may have coached bat dive Offered way. Do have Coach Die with us. Patchy 15 Ball games. Two games allowed to win those two games, and you had a very respectable year. How much of Motivating factor. Is that for your team? Well, I don't think it's any doubt about you know these two biggest games a year every year force Lauren and on and we've got a disappointing times as he had, that's for sure. But you know if we want to Georgia and Alabama game in Baldwin, baby would think is a great year. Not me, necessarily. But you want to win it all that Oh, under the circumstances. A win here today would be very big force and, uh, you know, I think it'll be a great football game. I don't think we're talented Georges, and we're certainly a young football team and a lot of areas and were hurt. Today. We're crippled up, but I expect our guest to play and go play is good. The clave waiting eliminate some of the mistakes for you will you will be in this one's about to get underway. Auburn is on the field. The dogs have just huddled up. They're about to take the field and kick off. And here with the play by play story once again is the voice of the Georgia Bulldogs. Larry Munson. All right, and get the picture now, Auburn in that very dark navy blue with white helmets, white pants, white numbers, those stripe of orange down the side and the dogs on the road, all in white. With right How much black German silver pants. Al Wise is 50 years old this weekend for 20 years he shot every Georgia football game. Or the bench Doing show. Robert Kushner is 33 years old. Today another wild eyed fan Georgia getting ready to kick off with the sun on their back. If there is a wind, it's swirling a little hard to go by the flags. The expected bitter cold front is not here today, Son Brighton High and warm. Harbor now has got Thomas Bailey a soft, more as the deepest man on the dog's getting ready to kick off. Peterson's gonna hit it wrong. Good kick. On down to about 2.5 on breaking out to the 19 or 20 Yard line is Alex Smith. He's hit around the 23 or 24 Alex Smith, a senior hit on the 23. It'll be first down there. All right. That's Auburn's ball they reach for their sixth win of the year. Today, Dogs reach for number eight on in That process are also reaching for a so called major bowl bit. Auburn huddling Now the Tigers are up to the line on the Tigers have immediately gone into a shotgun stand. White is standing back five or six yards. They snap up to white on first down and he's looking he pumps once and then he throws a long bomb, and there he is, and he missed him. Mr Man on our 31 yard line. Thomas really streaking wide open. Frank Sanders, not Bailey. Frank Sanders was the man opened down that left side. They went to a shotgun on the first play and went deep on missed him, and he had a step and a half lead. It'll be second in 10 O'Brien. They almost got seven right away, Boy that looked a little bit like the Florida bomb. Didn't it look like they have been watching those tapes? Auburn three White House here in the one bank set now and they quickly hand off to the tail in Boston. Cut inside and up, maybe four, close before and left guard. It should be third and six. When the unpiloted around the 27 a half Charlie Clemons hit him. Mitch Davis hit him. Auburn down there on their own 27. A half Your Larry England tells me Michigan and Illinois tied right at the end. 22 2 22, Michigan had to kick a field goal to save themselves today, Barber in third and six on the 27 a half in their own territory. White back in trouble racing of the right racist forward Fire team got 15 slides down to a first down. 41 Greg Trimble was coming up. So white came out and got about 13 yards. Came off to the right under pressure by the dogs and suddenly ran straight ahead. And our friends got a first down on the 41. Florida had a struggle. Today they trailed three to nothing. For a long time. They finally won by 5.714 and nine. That one is a final. Auburn up to the line. The backs have gone into an eye white underneath. They have three wideouts dogs in the four man front costs we busted coming out 44 45 pushing in the 45 a half 4.5 yards. He had one blocker still in front of him. When he got to the 44 Godfrey hit him and Clemenza Adam the busy linebackers, and they've been pretty busy all year. Harbor now is second and six. We just started in the first quarter of the sun is great. And it's right in Auburn space at this moment. Auburn now splits one man. Way out left in one short right there in the one back set with James Bostic again and white underneath dogs. Aaron a five go to Boston. That's bank. There's a hole and he drives close to the dogs. 46 1st down watch. He was fumbling as he hit the ground, and it is gorgeous ball. They took a couple of seconds. But the dog's got the ball is Bostic coughed it up here tremble hitting on Mitch Davis came up big Crane says. Great tremble. One of the safety man hit him and Mitch Davis, the outside linebacker, fell on it and or burn is turned it over on the 49 Mike Jones. Also the other safety was on the bottom of that vile George's recovered a turnover on the 49 dogs off shift the backs a little Auburn. Jenna 43 Zire Underneath are burning ground on a couple of first down, stumble Car Sweet Hearst five, tripping and falling as you went down on the auburn 45. He got 5.5. Red spent the corner coming up. Hurst looked like he was gonna have room Morris. He leaned in toward the middle of the field, but went down. You can see how the field is being torn up by the early heavy rains of early this week. They're already having chunks of turf Come off the bottom of the tweets first got six, second down and four slot with Bohannon and Hastings off to the right. The backs again are off shifted desire going to fake. It rolled to the right pass complete to the 35. He's hit right there. It's the first town Brian Bohannon hooking back. And dire hit him for about 11 yards on it will be a first down and they're only offering 35 offering coughed it up. But midfield player this field was in excellent shape. When it started but still damp. You mentioned there were heavy rains here. The grounds crew did a great job. That turf will give underway today charged with the first down on the Auburn 35 slot. Harvey shifts now and comes back up in front of Hearst. They go back to her Somebody blitz. They hit him behind the line. He lost the R. James Willis, a linebacker junior out of Huntsville, Alabama, was the first man in the hit him. They put it right back on the line instead of giving him the art loss where they knocked him down. Its 2nd 10 were nothing. Nothing early, are but immediately banged it out three or four quick place of the Georgia 49, but dropped it on that last place across midfield and the dogs Now we're down on the auburn 35 2nd at Harvard in the 43, sire underneath. They're blitzing on him, Sire. Dumps the Hastings complete. They hit him right there. No gain in the 35. Hastings started of the life turn cut right back across the line of scrimmage and are burned, read the play, and there's no gain on the completion. And it's 3rd and 10, Harvard and George and nothing. Nothing early. Auburn fans trying to come up and really roar on this one. They want the defense except the dogs off here. George in white are burning the dark blue dogs split two men out and go to a shotgun. That's the way offering started the game, foreman. Run fake Trent desire to the left throws on the run and his complete falling down to Hastings on the 22. He was wide open. He hit him for 13 yards and a first down Hastings look back wide open and fell. I start to say on the wet turn. It's not that wet, but it's chopping up. I'll tell you. He faked Calvin Jackson out of his shoes, though he made a great hook back is cut. Just fake him right out of the frame. Cut back for the football entire delivered it. Swan over the ball, Georgia first down on the offering. 22 with a very big third down play. Now they're in..

"Announcers who bring broadcast alive, Rob, says Larry Munson, who's the great Georgia announcer. I've seen a couple of people writing about him. Josh says Vin Scully, Keith Jackson, Spero Dedes, Mike to Rico. All great voices all great storytellers. Jerry. Our friend Jerry Palm agrees about Kevin Harlan, but says in Chicago, Pat Foley and Pat Hughes on then Keith says Al Michaels, Jon Matt and Tony Rome. Oh, how about that of your Omo? You're in a category with Al Michaels and John Madden. That's really impressive, Ali says. Vin Scully was always my favorite baseball announcer given I was raised in Southern California, but my favorite basketball voice the late Chick Hearn of the Lakers, and then Bradford says Doc Emmerich was hockey for over 35 years for me, Ryan agrees. Doc Emmerich. I already think hockey is the most exciting sport around, but he makes it even more exciting to watch. All of those names submitted on our Twitter, a law radio lots of people writing it about the Penguins. Mike Lang, who, of course, is the local radio voice there, and he's awesome. "Just didn't get many shots and football game. Yeah. And it's kinda save for that generation in a way, I don't wanna I don't wanna beat it down too bad. But it it really is a little bit because I just they, they get saturated with so much, and it's such an instant, you know, would be internet today. You know, it's just wasn't I one thing, I never want to do is come off insensitive. Because when I when I was sixteen I knew more than everyone in the world. Eight million. But, you know, I just. I mean you, you do have to, you know. You just you just have to pick your arguments, and, and, you know, college football is sacrosanct. I mean we understand it's not just us. It it's generational. It's passed on to the next generation. That's what makes it so great. Exactly. Well, protect your show. Thank you, keep up the good work. Great to have you on your. You bet. Let's continue with more calls and Blake is in Arkansas, like. What's going on our? Hey, there now I was top of that talk about the Arkansas Arkansas football thing kind of what you have. They made. Well somewhat optimistic. But I, I think the quarterback situation is isn't really strong shape coach Morris. When we talked to him about three weeks ago was was optimistic. He's feeling hold. But I still think there are too many holes in that team to have what I consider to be a really good year. You know to me bowl game and, and making some noise, maybe upset someone like ole miss on the road early in the season would would be a really good start. Yeah. That's what I was kinda see them still. That was kind of seeing myself. I was I was kind of seeing about speak seven win being optimistic. I think six or seven would would be okay. And then and then you make the big job. But you have to if you don't get to bowl game this year. I think they're going to be a lot of really disappointed. Arkansas fans. It probably will be. But I think they should relax because he what we get some. We're getting some football players. They're finally, it's about time. I mean I, I, I don't know in, in, in by the way, a lot of us got this wrong. But I don't know when I've ever seen a bigger waste of five years, then when Bret bielema came and went. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I agree. Yeah. Agri. Thank you. Jeff long. Yeah. Huang has gone from doing that. Did he to hiring less miles at? Kansas, more phone calls and red dog is in Georgia you're on the air. Go right ahead. Red dog. Hi you. We are great. Thank you for calling. Mind will Marty. I'm a dog fan and mardi took the words out of my mouth. I in, in Larry months since time, if someone listened to the TV announcers instead of Larry. I mean we wondered what was wrong with now. There's no way. I mean how many times did in by the way, it was always hard to sync up the radio and the TV because sometimes? But I you know, you always think about, you know, if you could do what if you could if you could have one more wish in your life. And I'm not talking about family and you know, seeing your dad, your mom your grandparents, but I mean my, my college football wish maybe to listen to Larry Munson one more time. Is that good? You know they they still play before the Georgia games. I'm sure you've probably seen. "I will today. Shocked many of you. Because what I do for a living is opinion. An opinion show. I'm not paid to recap games. I'm not paid to do a radio type sportscenter. A paid to give you my opinions to create dialogue discussion with you. And one of the things that I've always believed, and there is a legendary broadcaster from the south and his name was Larry Munson, God rest his soul. And I came to Atlanta in the business world and was still doing radio Partai back in nineteen ninety five. Larry wants in heard me to a few shifts. And then one day I had to fill in for his co host, the legendary Jeff Van note. And if you're in the south, you know, Jeff Eno, if you're an NFL fan, you know, the name Jeff Van note, so Larry Munson did a show with Jeff Han. Nope. And so I feel in for Jeff. And the legendary Larry Munson. I mean, this guy's doing Georgia football. He's he's done Braves before and everything he he's a legend in the south. And he takes the time at the end of the shift. I said thank you very much for your time. Larry appreciate the opportunity to work with you. And he said can I give you a piece of advice? Nice said sure, and he goes you're talented kid. He said, but don't ever try to be one of them. And I said, what do you mean? And he said look don't try to be one of them. Meaning the listeners he's like be yourself at all times, be your self. And make sure that you are constantly letting people know the real you don't try to be one of them. Don't try to cower, you know, cater to the southerners and and be like us. And then about the teams and stuff he said just be yourself. He said, they'll grow to accept you. They may never love you. But they'll grow to accept you. And they can respect you. So I'm just going to tell you right now. I hate the Dallas Cowboys. And if you've listened to me for years, you know, as a Philadelphia Eagles fan growing up. I hate the Dallas Cowboys always have there's nothing. I hate worse. There is a Philadelphia magazine. When they did back in the day. They did thirty people under thirty making a difference like or movers and shakers or something in the community. I was lucky enough to get to be one of the people who they showcased thirty under thirty. Well, now, I'm in my fifties. So was a while ago. And when I did that everybody was asked the same questions on this template. You were asked like, what are your what things do you like those type of the, you know, what are you? What are you passionate about? What it? Well. Everybody was asked. What do they what do you hate? And twenty thirty. I mean twenty nine out of thirty people said, I'm too busy to hate. I don't have time for hate in my life. I don't hate anything. I'm like, okay. I'm serious. I'm looking at these morons that I'm being showcase with what I'm saying. So you don't hate cockroaches. You don't hate dirty dirty floors. When you walk into a building. You don't hate whatever it is. You hate stop lion. Stop trying to impress people in a new in a magazine article. So I told them flat out said I hate the blue star the Dallas Cowboys. It's repulse me from childhood. But today, I shock you. Because you see I can always put my, and I always challenged myself to it. I always never I never leave my objectivity at the door. Never leave my objectivity at the door. And we'll talk about my team later on tonight. But I want to talk about the Dallas Cowboys from last night. After the game even after the game. And even I'm watching some of the recaps from this morning. People are telling me on national television and everything what Dak Prescott isn't. I'm here to tell you what Dak Prescott is. Is he the best young quarterback in the game? No is he a top seven or eight quarterback in the NFL. I don't believe. So, but I'll tell you this. Dak Prescott getting the most out of his abilities. Is damn good. And last night. Dak Prescott impressed the hell out of me. Because there were so many times so many opportunities so many big plays to be made. And what did that Prescott do in so many different opportunities? He made them. If you wanna talk stats with me, and you want to get into analysis about, you know, picking apart with this young man, isn't which was happening a lot after the game. So be it. But you're going to do that with another host. You're not gonna do that with me today. Because look there are other days you can talk about what Dak Prescott isn't. I'd like to talk about what he is this morning to lead the show, and he's the guy that when his team needed the most in playoff football came through. And our colleague Tony Romo from CBS sports. Had a lot of opportunities to be big for his team in postseason games or in clutch games down the stretch and NFL seasons. And there were many many times where Tony became the punchline. And I respect a lot of what Tony accomplished. So don't tell me today. What Dak Prescott isn't tell me what he is. And last night. He was damn good. And what is Tim needed in the most he came out with big plays? And the Dallas defense was really impressive. Really really impressive. And there were many many times in that game where they made Russell Wilson and that Seahawks offense look really ordinary really ordinary. Don't tell me today. Don't don't don't be the and the show. Don't be the caller don't be the guy to tell me what somebody isn't after a big playoff win. For at least one day. Could you give the guys to f for at least one day? Could you say, you know, what I tip the cap? Dak Prescott had some lousy throws in the first half. There were two I can think of on sideline patterns where it could have been picked sixes easily. He's not perfect. He's not a top a quarterback. But guess what? When his team needed in the most. That's why they're going to be playing next week. So that's what I'll choose to focus on. Now for the Indianapolis Colts. They've got a quarterback of their own too. Guy you might hurt of before his name's Andrew luck. And if you haven't heard of them where you've been. Where you been? Andrew luck has a. A sort of an shucks sorta geeky swagger about him style. Whatever it is. But such poise such a confidence such an ability to with natural talent to not only to lead. You know, how he leads? He leads by confidence. He leads by making other players confident in him. And what I'm going to tell you is is that. There is a there's a question. I have about the Houston Texans. And it's in the DNA. And I know there's not a nother coaching search going to go on. And I respect Bill O'Brien. But that was his lame an effort and effort, and I'll say effort. From a team with home field advantage in that position. That was his lame effort that was impotent that was sheer impotence. Embarrassing pitiful. How do you do that? How is that the effort you come up with on that stage at that time? If you're a Texans fan this morning. And you're hearing about coaching searches around the NFL. You're wondering why your team is at one of them or you should be. Because something's wrong with the DNA something's wrong about that team. Because that was as bad that's as bad as you can see this as bad as you can get. They should be ashamed of themselves with that effort yesterday. Absolutely pitiful. Absolutely atrocious. But that's not to say that the colts weren't awesome because they were. The cults were fantastic. That was an incredible incredible job by the colts Frank Reich who last year was every bit pivotal in helping the Philadelphia Eagles get a Super Bowl ring. His team was so poi- so well prepared had such a marvellous game plan. Had the ability to lineup. Say that they were going to run the football and the Houston Texans, the big bad bravado. Big talk in Houston. Texans had nothing to say about it. Nothing. Couldn't do it. Lame.
