"I didn't toss them all together. I'd simply made them seize everyone else in the sequence is an a so I'm hoping to get a price and I'm hoping you get a price as an a in the tenth race at keenland. So if you're scoring at home, if you've got a pad of paper handy. In race 7, 5 is nay, one three 7 and 8 are bees and race 8, 6s nay, 5 is a B, 8 is a C in race 9, three and four or a's and in the tenth race, the last race in this four race pick for is all as a's except for 6 and 8. Those are C's. The tickets a $173 total. All as is a $2 ticket, any combination that has two three a's and one B, that's a $1 ticket. And all other tickets, if two B's win or one C and three a's win, that's a 50 cent decade. So the general idea behind the philosophy is who do you like best? How can you structure this ticket to cover as many options as possible and how do you win multiple times if your opinions are right, but if a big upset slips in there, how do you cash a ticket? That's the concept behind the Steve Chris kind of betting formula. So we go back to keenland, race number 7. They're going 6 and a half for longs. These are mainly first time starters. And I'm surprised because I really thought way hill road was going to be a big favorite. The 5 to two morning line on the $1.6 million sun quality road has stood up, wake hill road is indeed 5 to two in this spot. The second choice in the wagering right now is number one communication memo communication memo coming out of a key race won by logins at Churchill downs on September 17th, Steve asked me since second time starter hits at about 22% and he is 7 to two at this juncture. Victory formation number three for Brad Cox a first time starter, a son of taproot, has drifted up to 6 to one and sees of Normandy number 7 for Larry Jones has been bent down from 8 to one to four to one second time out. We spent a little bit first time ran okay, not great, but getting very much supported at the window. The only other horse I have is number 8 Santorini, who at this point is 14 to one. If I was betting right now immediately before the race, I don't know if I would pull the trigger on Santorini or not. I probably would. I think 14 to one on a first time starter, there's a lot of positive data for the trainer, the jockey and trainer first time start data. I probably would pray it very similarly to how I have it. It would make me nervous though that way hill road is not a very, very big favor, really gotten hit hard. In fact, the price is drifting up now from 5 to two to three to one. This is betting with Bobby. I'm Dave Friedman, glad you're with us. If you have a thought on these races today at keeneland, the late pick four at keeneland or maybe one of the final two races in New York. Give us a call. 8 8 8 9 6 6 four 7 7 6 8 8 8 9 6 6 four 7 7 6 after this race at keeneland we will go straight to the big a and we will talk if there's time briefly about their 8th race today and then we will continue on this pick for journey that we have going on starting with this race number 7 at keenland, the horses are approaching the starting gate. They've been running behind kind of most of the day today at Keenan. We're going to have some discussion of betting strategy coming up on betting with Bobby presented by Caesar's sportsbook. Bobby had some time to talk with that derosa from horse racing nation and Scotty mckeever from the equine edge. It'll be interesting to get there early thoughts on the breeders cup and not just their thoughts on horses that they like, but the way they're planning to attack the card and it's kind of some of their bedding keys for breeders cup weekend, which is now just two weeks away. So how about this? Communication memo number one, the Steve asked me some second time starter is now the 5 to two favorite here as they begin to load at keeneland. And that makes the $1.6 million suge horse wake your road a three to one second choice. Seas of Normandy is four to one. It's 46° at keenland fast and firm. They are mostly loaded, loading two at a time before the 7th race. I've got the 5 as nay, one three 7 and 8 as bees and Kurt Becker will have the final load here and the call of the 7th that king will good luck if you're involved in the pick four or anything else and hopefully we're still alive because this exercise will be a lot more effective if we can talk through this entire pick for a sequence as they load the final horse in that's dingman on the outside for John Ennis. Let's go to Kurt Becker and Lua in Lexington.

"Time starter $340,000 son of tappet and we know Cox does really well with two year olds. The horse is being bet 5 to one. It is certainly someone I want to cover. We're seeing a lot of attention in the wagering on number 7 seas of Normandy. This is a second time starter for Larry Jones. He did not get out, particularly well first time he was bet at Churchill on September 21st, went off at about 6 7 to one, got out slowly, and this is a horse that never was better than third in the race was a 6 furlong race. So stretching out just a little bit today, the dam won three of her first four starts, the other start was a runner up. The low in sibling is a three time sprint winner with the second one coming on its second start. So there are a lot of things that kind of tell you seize of Normandy is going to be a player in here. The question I'm not sure what to do with this Santorini. Santorini tend to want in the morning line seemingly dead on the board at 17 to one. I think the works look good. Brissette and flora Giroux when they team up hitting it about 32%. Bris said is 14% first time out, but for a $2 and 59 cent, ROI, there are a lot of things in Santorini to like, but boy the board tells you Santorini's got no chance in here. Now I've already put in my bet because I knew there wasn't going to be an opportunity on the air to do it. So I played the 5 way hill road as an a and the other four communications memo victory formation sees of Normandy and Santorini as bees. I've got no seas in this portion of the ticket. The way you win, one of these tickets, and this is the Steve Chris system. This is not something that I invented myself. If all of your a's win, you cash. That's fairly obvious. If one of your bees wins and three of your a's wins, that will cash in some manner or facet. You can also cash with two B's and two a's. In order for a seat a win, it has to be one C and all the rest are a's. And you tear it financially as well. So all a's in this sequence, I'm betting those for $2. I beg your pardon. I'm beg those for $4. The tickets that have one B on playing for half of that. So always were $2 with one B, that's a $1 ticket. If I have two B's, that's only a 50 cent ticket. And if I use a C, that's a 50 cent ticket. I'm not sure I said that particularly clearly. All as that is a $2 ticket for me. If I have three a's and one B, that is a $1 ticket for me. If I use two bees and two a's, that's a 50 cent ticket. And if I use three a's and one C, that is a 50 cent ticket. So I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I'm putting the most amount of money on the all as somewhat lesser for the horses. I don't like quite as much. The rest of the sequence. So in the 7th race, 5 is an a, one three 7 and 8 or B's. In the second portion of the sequence, race number two, I struggled on what I wanted to do, not from a handicapping standpoint, but from a betting standpoint. Number 5, Bella Gamba, and number 6 Scottish star stand out to me in this mile and a 16th turf race and allowance for horses that have not won three races other than a maiden. Scottish star is coming off a win at Saratoga in an optional claimer. That's the horse I like best. A 5 year old mayor for Todd pletcher and Louis syes. Bella gambit confuses me a little bit. There was no pace last time out when Bella Gamba ran in the great two Canadian at woodbine and therefore she didn't come running a lot. Two back, she ran pretty well winning a stakes race at Laurel. What concerns me about Bella gambit is her win is at Laurel. This is keen England. To me, is a significant step up from racing at Laurel. The figs for Bella Gamba and Scottish star are pretty similar, but I trust Todd pletcher more than I do, not show Correa's. I trust Louis syes more than I do, Vince Shimano. I think Scottish star second off a layoff has a very good opportunity. I made Scott a start the a, Bella Gamba, the bee. And that's tight. You could easily make them both as I want to save what amounts to about 40 bucks, 50 bucks on my ticket. So race one, the 7th race, 5 is an 8, one three 7 8 or B's, race 8, 6, got a star as the a, Bella Gamba 5 is the B and I'm fooling around with number 8 sunny one in this race. I used sunny one as a C so that would only connect with if all a's one in the rest of the races, I just thought sunny ones last race, the grade three race at Kentucky downs was a really big fig. Besides that, you're not looking at a horse that's run against horses of this caliber, you do see a horse that likes to win. Ten first or seconds in 16 career starts. But against lesser competition. So I made 6 and a 5 and B 8 a C in the 9th race, the optional claimer $125,000 race mile and a 16th on the dirt. The horse that I like best got scratched. I was going to play falconet for Todd pletcher as my lone a in here. The scratch isn't horrible. I simply elevated number three cocktail moments and number four scratch cat. I made them both as there's nothing else in the race that I particularly liked. Falconet was the horse that I liked best falconet is scratched. I was going to give ice orchid an opportunity at 20 to one as a sea ice orchid also scratched out of the race. So I'm very simply into three and four as an a in the 9th race. And how do you make money on this sequence? To me, that's the tenth race. I wanted all of them, but I'm not going to play all this as I don't think they all have an equal opportunity a winning. Unfortunately, in this $100,000 made in special way to myelin in 8th on the turf. I couldn't distinguish a lot. And I didn't want to omit somebody that I thought could win at a big price. I took 6 and 8 red bee and broadband. Those are the only two courses that don't really fit in here for me.

"Exactly two weeks from the start of the breeders cup. And the big a, two races, the final two races on the card from New York, fast and firm at both keenland and at the big a and great racing to get you through today. Tomorrow, the Maryland million, a fantastic card in Maryland, highly encourage you to look over the races. They have low takeout. They have big fields. They have competitive good action tomorrow, our Maryland million week coverage on HR RN is proudly presented by anchor and hope farm. Coming up at 6 o'clock, the weekend stakes preview, Jude feld and I will go through 13 stakes races, including 5 from Maryland. It's Marilyn million week. I know everyone's caught up in the breeders cup excitement. So am I? The breeders cup is two weeks away, trying to build that bankroll this week to get ready for the breeders cup. So we've got a four race sequence coming up at keenland. And that means an opportunity to play the pick four. Take out his 22%. We know that they've moved to penny breakage, which is a huge advantage for race fans. And if you've got a thought on this pit four sequence beginning with the 7th race, I'd love to get your insights where about 15 minutes away the horses are in the paddock for the 7th race at keenland. 8 8 8 9 6 6 four 7 7 6 8 8 8 9 6 6 four 7 7 6. I'm going to take you through how I played today's late pick for at keeneland. But I'd like to get your handicapping thoughts on these four races as well. Also on the show today Ed derosa from horse racing nation as we get closer to the breeder's cup Ed knows his stuff when it comes to keenland and it comes to the breeders cup. He talked to Bobby about some of the trends that he's seen. This meat in historically breeders cup in Kentucky. Scotty mckeever, he is a great, well-known tournament player. How is he approaching the breeder's cup? He's from equine edge, which really provides some good insights, some analytical thinking will get Scotty mckeever's thoughts on the breeder's cup and kind of tournament play, how the strategy works with that. Adam Poland will join us from Caesar's sports book. We're going to talk about three NFL games this weekend, including that very interesting San Francisco Kansas City game where the line has shifted just a little bit with the news last night that Christian McCaffrey was traded from Carolina to the forty-niners and will be joined by Dave Rodman. He's the race caller out at Laurel park in Maryland. He's been there for years and years. He'll give us some insight, some historical perspective and maybe pick a horse or two on tomorrow's Marilyn million card. So lots to do on bedding with Bobby. If you've got a thought on this late pick four sequence, 8 8 8 9 6 6 four 7 7 6 8 8 8 9 6 6 four 7 7 6. Here is the way I looked at this sequence. I feel as though the first race here, you can go in a lot of different ways. This is a $100,000 maiden special weight race. And if you look at the top of my racing form, you'll see the words watch the board. I'm very, very interested to see what the price is going to be on number 5 way hill road. 5 to two in the morning line right now two to one with about 13 minutes to post. Way heel road is a 1.6 $1 million first time starter for suge McGee. He and Tyler gaff Leon. This is a son of quality road and the un race dam catch the moon has fold four horses all four have had terrific success. Midnight bourbon, gervin, pirates punch and cocked loaded, four big time winners, all graded stakes winners, and we know what gervin has been doing recently in the breeding shed. So I thought it was possible, way hill road was going to get pounded here. And could even be a single. The way I have my tick right now is, and I think we've talked about this, maybe not on this show, but on some of our handicapping shows here on HR and in the past is I take every horse in a sequence and I make them either an a, a primary horse, the horse that I think is most likely to win, a horse that I'm leaning on in my wagering, B, a backup horse, a horse that I think has a pretty darn good chance or horse I want to make sure that I cover, see a long shot, someone that I give a little bit of an opportunity to. I don't want to completely keep off of my ticket, but I don't want to spend a lot of money or resources to have them. And an X that's everybody else. In this 7th race at keenland, I've identified 5 horses that I want to play in some manner or facet. Way hill road, the gay he $1.6 million first time starter. That's my primary horse. That's my a I was looking at communication memo for Steve asmussen. Number one, number three, victory formation for Brad Cox. Number 7 sees of Normandy for Larry Jones and number 8 Santorini for Rudolph Brissette. I was looking at those as kind of something else on my ticket. And I do lean on watching the board with first time starters. If I don't have any insight of someone hasn't given me some information, I try to look and see what the odds are. And largely in this race, the odds are kind of what I expected. Way he'll rode right now as a 5 to two favored communication memo second time starter for Steve asked meson wasn't bet first time was 24 to one at Churchill down September 17th, finished third beaten 9 and three quarter lengths, but two horses have come out of that race to win and logins who won that race is now one of the two year olds that we're talking about, aiming for the breeders cup juvenile. So communications memo at four to one figure that horse would get bed and indeed he is. Victory formation for Brad Cox number three time starter $340,000 son of tappet and we know Cox does really well with two year olds. The horse

"Grain of salt that maybe a little bit, but the two efforts prior to that were very, very good. And one of them was at a $700 $700 raise. It's the end of my week. Be nice. $700,000 race. And regal glory, of course, won the Pegasus turf and did so. Affiliate mayor turf and did so and very fine fashion had got gay to wire the matriarch so versatile, talented and yeah, they got a couple really good ones. Never acted over for George Arnold shows up here, won the valley view a couple starts back at keenland that was the only career when it came to this one. And then lady spike spear, who didn't do a lot of running in the hillsborough here at Tampa. If you remember, that was Tampa Derby day and then we got a ton of rain early on. And I believe, in fact, I'm almost positive. I'm not going to look it up, but 98% sure. The hillsborough was the first turf race that day. They had it labeled good. The way bleaker street came running and rocky sky camera, like I thought, Gladys was the early one of the early pace that she kind of stayed on. But I thought it was a race that seemed to favor an off the pace flow and an inside flow and this horse was on the rail, though, so. I don't know, a little bit of a little bit of a mysterious race there from lady spiders. I don't think she's going to be as good as the chads, but when she runs her race, she's decidedly very solid for this kind of level. Edward Vaughn has a horse who came up to woodbine and ran behind them, moved to makina in the EP Taylor last time was fourth been off since then. For Jack's sisterson. It's just a maiden winner. So I mean, it's very much looks like a strong, I think a lot of people are going to go Chad Chad or pick one or the other chads. In there, that would be my guess. The giant causeway always a fun race 5 and a half furlongs. Now it was Giant's Causeway was he a turf sprinter? I feel like I remember him running on the main track dirt in the classic. But I don't remember him being a 5 and a half turf her. Every once in a while, you run into names that are peculiar for, you know, like secretary, it's big race is a turf race for three years. Now he ran on turf. He was pretty good on turf. But still, like that doesn't that seem a little weird? Like that, you know, one of the greatest dirt horses ever. It doesn't have a dirt race. But he's got a turf race. Campanello for Wesley warden, Wesley for his cold as his three year olds have been, or two year olds rather, he still off to a good start at keenly, he's got three wins already golden Powell, of course, one of those. But it comes out of this horse comes out of a race of Keenan last year finishing third behind a few in this race change of control and ambassador Luna. Change of control of course, the Michelle level runner who went up to woodbine a couple times last year was down a fairgrounds this winter ran got beat by LZ, who's also in this race. There's a lot of common opponents in this race. And so changing control of the last time, though, is a little bit of a toss. It was a bad start, and this is just a horse that wants to be a little bit closer up. And so I got to think that a better start, the mid pack draw I kind of like for this one, but their speed right to is outside too with jouster. Gesture is like a Scott speed for a sprint, but he's such a rout speed type, right? I feel like turf sprint speed and route, TERF speeder. Big time different ball games. And there's some other early speed types in here. But man, it's a competitive group. LZ who's a speed type drew on the far outside, so she's going to have to get over for Chris Hartman, who's just been on a I don't want to say he's been on a tear anymore. 24% trainer for like the last year and a half. You just winning a lot. This horse is a wind machine for Bette rich get Mitch. What's Ed say bet Mitch get rich? It's like he had a big line, but anyways, fun day out of keelan, the count fleet sprint, which I thought that was the one that they changed the name for for whitmore, but maybe I was wrong on that. But we see the return of Jackie's warrior. 6 to 5 on the morning line, but bob's edge who was the winner of the whitmore last time out from last to first that huge move down The Crown of the track and comes into the race and just incredible form for Larry Jones. But he's going to have to run down Jackie's work. Now, empire of golds in here who's got some good early speed, but other than that. I mean, mojo man went to wire last time out so he's capable of showing other people but his style generally is not been. You know, go to the front. I love that mojo man ran in the send in an army stakes. In fact, he won it at Indiana. Shout out game. Maybe a little hunch play for Gabe but the fellas. But you know, Jackie's warrior fresh and you know, obviously, didn't go on with it in the breeders cup sprint. It was a race that doctor Shiva wasn't that far off aloha west was, and so but following C was close up battling. So I don't know. I think it was just kind of the end of the meat it was going over to del mar. I think there was a few reasons why Jackie's warrior wasn't maybe a 100% sharp that day, but he's making his four year old debut, there's, to me, depending on the price, there's plenty of reasons to go against him, but there's plenty of reasons to like him too, so it's a little bit of a weird situation. Yeah, I don't know. I'm curious to see how much they bet him versus Bob Saget because bob's edge is certainly has some recency on Jackie's worry. He's had starts this year where Jackie's warrior has not. They're both for you. Obviously they had very different three year old campaigns, but yeah, bob's edge is a super, super solid informed bridge right now, and Jackie's work like I said, there's just, I mean, there is there is. There are question marks. But, you know, on his best day, clearly he's one that's tough to handle. Steve aspirin obviously can do pretty good work with some sprinters..

"Up, Hollis to the final furlong. He leads by a length over Greeley and Ben in second. Bob's edge is flying in the center of the racetrack, but he's still two and a half from the front, but he does have momentum. Hollis has the lead. Here's bob's edge trying to go last to first and look at him blue boy. Bob's edge two lane trist bob's edge. Wow. So bob's edge, Larry Jones, back in the graded stakes winner circle scores here from well off the pace he was last early on and he kind of was a little more of a stalker he type last year. Obviously it's smaller fields that sometimes tends to happen more. But it seems like this year, at least his last 5 starts, you know, he's been a little further back at least positionally and comes with that big run and this was another one where, you know, I think that that fact that they kind of stacked up up front. They went 21 and four while they were stacked up, so they were going quickly, but Hollis was covering ground out wide there. You know, three wide into the turn. You heard vik say accurately in the call, like Hollis looked like he wanted to try to get over and then all of a sudden Greeley and Ben slips through and then needing to know slips through and he needed snow was between horses. To me is one of the worst spots to be in when you're between horses and in this case there was one to his inside and two to his outside when he kind of steadied. But when you're between horses and you're a little behind him, I always think that's the worst place. Now, on the turn, I think it gets amplified 'cause on the turn is where everybody kind of wants to try to keep tucking in more, right? Down the back stretch sometimes you'll see geisel. Horses will be three across the track and then you look at the head on and there's two paths between each of them. So yes, there are three across the track, but they're not in the tight quarters that they are going into the turn. And I think it's a much more distressing position to be and when you're just behind and between horses or when you're just behind and you're down on the rail and the other horse is right you're outside. Like to me, it's so rare that horses a, come back through there and be don't end up kind of pulling themselves out of there or just backing up. It's just a tough spot to be in. But Luis ketones and bob's edgy, a big, big close, a telling tryst also came from off the pace, just kind of got outrun in the last 16th there, but ran a very good race. And really Ben was a part of that early mix and was still battle in a way. Just a super game horse greeting in Ben and then Hollis actually ended up fading back to fourth after the somewhat wide journey in my horse faded back to last. But yeah, very cool day at Oakland park, the whitmore I just thought was just kind of a neat event we'll say. Kudos to them for a fun day of racing. I watched a fair bit of Oklahoma, which I hadn't watched a ton this meet again. They kind of run as we're, you know, as we're going and then when we finish, they're still going by the time I get home, it's kind of over. Talk about a couple of the other stakes races going on from around the country over at aqueduct. The cicada stakes it was lady scarlet, Kendrick Carmouche rallying from off the pace to get the win. This was the race I talked about, you know, it looked like there was a fair bit of early speed and then something kind of had to give and lady milagro and maldon, who both showed a lot of speed in previous starts all at mansion, of course, only had. The one start for ray handel, but they ended up going out and kind of going after it a little bit, 22 flat 45 and three, and kinder Carmouche kept lady scarlet just out in the clear, you know, 5 wide and rolled by him and really poured it on down the stretch to score nicely for Mike maker. Ray handel's horse should hold on nicely for second. They were way clearer really, really super strung out field. And, you know, I was going to say two year olds, but they're not. They're three year olds and at this point, but lightly a lightly raced group of three year olds how about that. But Kendrick good to see him get a nice win. I feel like we haven't had kit. We had Kendrick on once and it's been, it's been a few years. Maybe he maybe Kendrick's a guy to add to the guest list here. Down at beautiful Gulfstream park in Florida. I was trying to think if I'm going to be able to get down there once more 'cause I'm going down to the pop for the Gabe versus Pete match race, which is only two weeks from today. April the fourth, I believe it is. But it's going to be on a Monday Tuesday, so no Gulfstream running. We do have a Sunday off the week before Kentucky Derby at Tampa. So I thought maybe I'll go down there, but then I'm going to drive home or back to Oregon to grant's pass like the next week. So do I really want to drive four hours each way to Miami after I did it three weeks before, just to then drive across country? I think that feels like that feels like a lot on the old car. So it might not get down to GP again, but I had a nice day there before Christmas, and then I got COVID. I'm blaming, I'm blaming Miami for giving me COVID back before Christmas because when I was down there, I came back at like two or three days later. Boom. And they said that the only crime was a faster transmitter. So I'm blaming Pete and the team at Gulfstream. Actually Mayo, you were my tour guide there, probably you. No, Ashley's great. Love Ashley. The talk also in part, the Hutchinson stakes, which a lot of people kind of made no to this. And I kind of agreed, you know how, you know, races do this, right? Race is ebb and flow. In terms of their history, their importance and what have you. And the hutcheson was kind of erased that, you know, this used to be a grade two race for a lot of years. And then it became a grade three and now it's listed. And I mean, you go back and look at some of the horses that want it. Okay, Gladiator kings, but he's a nice little sprinter. "Field size usually isn't there. So I just focused on those tracks. So Tampa, my 6th optional race got me off the deck and I got the wind there. My wife shows up for the next optional race forming Oakland and I was up the track with my pick no big deal. Then I nailed my last three races and that's when it got really bob's edge, won the king cotton. I owe my old friend Luis keynote as the jockey in Q beer or a case of beer. He rode that horse like a champ or Larry Jones the cowboy and got it home for nice score. And a big long shot. The second so your place price got juiced a little bit. Yeah, exactly. But I got 24 20 overall on that one. But the next race at Oakland the 11th ethereal road for deeply Lucas trainer Luisa Contreras ride. That was a horse I had spotted. I thought had a really rotten trip to previous race. I thought, no, I'll give it a chance. So I actually picked it on top because I thought horses are better off of last start and I was actually up getting ready to make some other sort of play. I don't know how to. I was wondering around at this point I got in the fog. And I look up to the monitor and the race starts and the horse kind of stumbles out again like all that's great. So last time you had a rotten trip with traffic this time causes some problem I'm stuck. Well, it came through by the time I got back to the table like that, he still wasn't in the picture. And about the time they got to the start of the final turn, he made a tremendous half mile run and scored and I almost had max win on that one place total and that was $53. So I launched from that point on those three races from Tampa and then the king cotton and now they through a roadhouse race, I was right there in the top 64 and was up there fairly high. And I'm like, okay, one more to go. And I had in the Aubrey green road fairgrounds in my last option and she won down. So I picked four of my last 5 options. I picked the winners and got both win in place and decent prices all the way around. I think the lowest payoff was the Tampa horse 7 87, but everything else was double digit. So that was great. And then I had sweat it out because there was still about 6 or 7 options because you were done early right on Saturday. Yeah. I was in the Clubhouse, watching the leaderboard, basically. And my new pass from New Jersey, John and Nick, they were like, you got it. You got it. You got it. That's the worst thing I'm gonna say. Yeah, I've been around this a long time. I've seen strange things happen. It's not over till they say it's over. And I held in. I think I landed 19th on after two rounds. So I made it to 64 to the semifinals on Sunday. And Sunday is weird. I mean, I haven't been in a couple years, but I went from I think 2016 through 19. I went to all of those in HC's just with bad America is just kind of as a rep kind of thing. And the early part of Sunday, it goes really fast. You have to go from 64 down to ten and it's really only like three and a half hours, maybe like because it's like the first 6 races that at most of the contest tracks. And so you kind of got to make your picks and know what you're doing. It seems like to me like Sunday just feels like the Sunday morning feels like the fastest time of it all at least as a viewer was it like that as a participant. Yes, and it was rough because I obviously it kind of stopped handicapping to Sunday middle afternoon on Saturdays. I didn't think I was going to make it so I'm like, I'm going to knock myself out and strain my eyes even more for my doctor in two days of my eye appointment I have coming up to say what's happened to your eyes. So I just, you know, I stop. And then things worked out and I'd be like, okay, great. And I told my wife, I saw her, here's the deal. We're going to go eat, but then I have to stiff you again and send you on your way because you can go watch blue band group. I'm going upstairs. She found she entertained herself. She was great the whole trip. It was really she's great moral support. So I handicapped until about midnight Vegas time went to bed and woke up at three 30 and that was that because of sleep. So 5 o'clock, I prepared myself went down. I was one of the first probably 5 people in the room. I got down to around 6 15 a.m. maybe. But I thought, okay, I'll use this time. It's quiet before the mad rush begins in three hours out finish handicapping and that's what I did and yeah, so then today really rolls quickly like you said it's just there's ten races that you can pick. They're all optional. Yeah. And I didn't fare well my first 5, nothing I didn't have anything at all. Then I can't think of the horse's name hang on a second to pull it up. Panadero came through at Tampa Bay. So it was a big hit as 1280 cents total. So that kept me going. And then I had a second at Gulfstream with Wonka on a turf race 6 at Gulfstream there. So I have one optional left to my last optional race. It's race forward Oakland and that one got me home. I wasn't on that horse. Nick and Zoe, John court road. The veteran John.

"Back that come back and ride and sometimes when you're going all year, you kind of get a little when you get later in years, you get a little like I always got to go out and do it again. Oh my God, do it again. I got to go again and now doing it like I am doing it. I enjoy gone. Do it. It has me pushes myself. And like I said, I like getting on the horses and feel and just like you would know. You're on horses, you feel that power we have underneath here and it's like a great feeling and when I do stop, I'm going to really miss probably, that's the most. For sure, that's people ask me what I miss the most. And I just miss riding the horses. You certainly always miss winning a race that thrill of when you cross the wire and you win a race. But ultimately, I just miss getting on the sources. The really good horse that moment, they stepped in a leg up and they're going to blend their shoulder and bow their neck and blend their shoulder into the walk and he's like, wow, wow, what is this? I know. It's just the feeling that you and me felt that feeling in most jockeys or whatever before that power they feel that never goes away. No, no question. How have you stood the test of time? Is it dedication, determination, nutrition schedule? What is the equation that created this kind of career? You know, Shaun, it's been I said think about it. I kind of got lucky the way I did this in my career because most guys can't take all 5, 6 months to try to come back and rise. And I've been fortunate to come back and get on horses and drive for some awesome trainers, Hall of Fame trainers and I just go right to it. You know what I mean? And it's a gift, I think from God and like I said, I keep myself in shape too and I try to keep my weight down and I think that me trying to work out all the time and keep myself motivated and my diet and all that. I kind of like it helps me prolong my career. I mean, I never get where I asked to work really hard to get back. And I think that's helped me in the long run and like I said, you know, I try to I have great people that I can come back and ride for. So that's a plus. Like I said, I can go to Wesley born there and get on horses. And he'll say, you want to ride next week. I said, next week, I just got here. I'll put you on this one next week. And I'm like, well, give me time to get going. You know what I mean? So, go to the thing that he has confidence in me and other trainers too that I wrote for over the years. Some great ones. And I've been very fortunate that way. Take us back. I mean, talking about a good horse, hard spun, when did you know that he was that good? Was it the moment that first step away from the mounting block? Or when did you say, wow, this is a different type horse? Yes, I always tell this story, Sean, and I don't know if it's people heard it or haven't heard it. But when I got on hard spun when I did get on them, he walked to the tracks with Larry Jones and I don't even know Larry that well at the time. I just started a few forums and then I got on this two year old, beautiful horse comes out, well bred horse, golden track. He said, this is your next Derby horse. So in fact, my mind, I hear that all the time, you know? People hear this docu here this all the time, trainers whoever. Owners, whatever. And so I work them. And we go like three eighths of a mile. And he doesn't really impress me. I've been on horses that impress me more. It's a material. He didn't really show that like he was talking about. So. One day we were working along he was working good, but nothing special. I worked him at a gate one day with three old horses. I mean, older horses. Right. So we go back to the gate to get his break em you know and all that and Larry and they come back with these three old horses and they said and I'm looking into game, I'm standing there waiting so they said Larry said, put them in there with him. And I go, oh, my God. He's so good. These are all sources here. Some of them still get drinker cards and whatever they're doing. And so first one was in the inside and when they did that Della park, and when they broke the stood there, we had break. You know what I mean? You know, it's like his first time breaking or unlike secular, where he was in experience. But when he felt that pressure of that starting gate and then horses draw away from him, I don't have like four or 5 on them right away. Now dirt's hitting him and he just grabbed the bridle and just took me to him like I had a good to the outside so fast because I was going to run over him. And I stepped out and I blew by him and you know just drew away and that was the time.

"Couple of news stories The announce the passing of reporter fox hill farm. I always feel strange. Like i don't like to do the eulogies for people that i didn't really know i mean i knew of reporter obviously know of his great successes in some of the incredible horses. He has but i always say st pick is better to listen to for the eulogies on on people in that sense because you know he just knows a lot of those people more than i do knows their history better than i do and so. I always think it's kind of a disservice to sit in for me to try to eulogize somebody who i don't know but certainly can remember his contributions to the sport and i saw a nice quote about larry jones talking. About what a great onery was to work with. I mean the list of horses he had particularly in the last. Fifteen or twenty years is is astounding. Songbird made almost five million dollars grade multiple grade. One winner hard-spun second derby won the king's bishop hob the grass hobday grace grade one winner on the woodward round pond distaff winner back in two thousand six beat agassi emperor who was actually decoy. That day Happy ticket below lemons forever spun sugar fleet that was the of course the tragic uh fleetingly and pine island race where they fell but Yeah i mean like i said. The list of horses that Mr porter campaigned through fox hill. Farm is pretty

"That's just my opinion. Yeah, I agree. Certainly at your favorite track in Oakland Park in that Oakland Mile, just really took to it. That was by my standards. First tried a mile and just wore down the opposition and won by a nose. So Yeah, I'm totally on the same page with you. Yes. And as far as mischievous Alex, go, Yeah, that was a huge jump. In a speed figure from the previous race for the last one off the shelf. They often bounce off of those efforts, so I can certainly see why you're playing against Mr Miss Alex. Certainly have to factor in that a rat. Ortiz will not be on the mound today. So it'll be a jockey. That doesn't know the horse. So another. Another factor against Mr was out. Yeah. So the key? Basically, what we're doing is exactly and try effective boxes with the 25 and six and we'll play next. Go on top for twice as much as the others. Um, but the five is 10 to 1 morning, right and should be relatively close to that The two is 92. And you're going to get about 45. I think based on the the odds of the way they look right now with the payouts from yesterday's, uh, doubles, so anyway, about 4 to 5 on next go and then use him for twice as much on top of the two and the five. All right, play those exotics with heavy favorite. That's the way to do it. Uh, where we going next? We will go to Churchill Downs. Next couple races we have here are pretty interesting. Churchill and Santa Anita at Churchill. We're going to waste 10 and the horse we like. Here is Number six. Top gunner for John Ortiz, 15 to 1. Morning Lane and You know, Jay, I know you follow Oakland very best. This may have been the only horse We're one of the only horses Sadler had ready to run first time over that track this year. Uh, this horse won by 10 lengths for John Sadler was claimed by Ortiz out of the race. And then Artie's running back in 14 days and didn't bounce that bad. Ran a six that day. The first time there, take about five or six to win. This race starts to an eight and three but now has a good 67 weeks into this race and really looks to be set up to go back to that number today. Yeah, absolutely. And certainly you know, the race is over. Oakland can be a predictor of success over Churchill Downs. I think, actually, sometimes the Oakland race, you know, attract a better grade of horses for the level, and sometimes it's a class drop going on Churchill Downs. I agree with that completely. For the users will use number four Qadri. This one is just, uh, throwing five. You know, uh, his ran five and a quarter five and three quarters three times this year. Trainer change from Larry Jones. The norm Cash don't know much about Norm Cash. I know Larry Jones is south of this horse is coming back pretty quick. So I expect a good effort out of this one today to hopefully repeated that five. Find the two morning line and then the last one we use is another price. That's number nine. He's a babe. Ran a nine on the stop last time out, taking a little bit of money but had a seven last year is a three year old with trouble. So if that seven is any indication, nine first time out, he should get back to that seven or better this time and 15 to 1 a definite use, So we're going to use um, number six top gunner to win. We're going to play in exotics with the four and the nine Very nice would be kind of sweet to get exactly with a couple of 15 to 1 shots in there. Uh, Roger, if you're writing this one listeners are going to get paid. This is absolutely worth a swing and top gunner. The topic here. Correct And the last race we're going to do is raise seven at Santa Anita. And if you like those prices, you're going to love these prices. So, um, we're going with race seven and the horse we're picking is actually 21 Morning line. And that is number two, never for money. This horse tried her for the first time last out at Golden Gate and ran a 7.5. Now she does have to improve off that to win this one. But that's 7.5, which was significantly better than anything she ran as three certainly bodes well for a forward move today. Yeah, And, uh, certainly that was a solid effort up at the gate and really took to the long Agree, agree, And that's one of the reasons here. We're thinking with a little bit of time in here, maybe four weeks. This one is going to have a solid shot today. Um, if nothing else to give him the money at a big price, But she's going to be our key. We're going to use with number three Constanta and this one. Um, this one's just a consistent horse. If you look at the paragraphs Started off with fourteen's as a three year old than just fired eleven's, uh, then fired nines and got down to a six last out. And you would expect that this one is just going to start firing six is right now. So had 72 for, um John Settler and Rispoli. We have to use that one. And we got another big price. And, um, it's number four Gypsy spirit at 12 to 1 Morning line. Ever since this horse came over from Europe, you knew what you were going to get from this horse, and that was an eight. The horse ran Nine consecutive eight in this in this country before going to Golden Gate last, um a few weeks ago and running a four and three quarters. So does that number set this horseback? Or is this horse finally moved to a new level? And this is one of those where you take a different approach, depending on the price. This horse is the 2 to 1 favorite. You look at her to bounce. This horse is 12 to 1 will probably be every bit at 12 to 1 and when we absolutely have to use in this spot And then the last one we're going to use is the outside horse number eight superstition by two morning line paired 6.5. But we'll probably get a little bit of a wide trip here videos up and he generally does a great job of saving ground. But we'll also use number eight superstition. So the key is number two, never for money. And we're going to use with the 34 and eight Okay, taken a swing against that favorite with a 20 to 1 shot, which hopefully will not live up to his name today ever for money. Hopefully, there'll be plenty of money for the listeners. And for you, Roger Roger. Appreciate all the picks up. I know you'll be looking forward to that big car today, So let's have at it. Let's let's take it home. Sounds good. J looking forward to it. And nice job. Thanks. Thanks. Roger. Roger Neubauer. From thorough graph. We'll take our first break at this point, and I'll come back with one of my picks. And then Mr Steve Pollock joining us as well. Don't touch that dial. Come on, Kitty does about the more Don't New York these kind of tall.

Reiter the half to justify won the last race in the slop. Humans that ninety he fires same figures lexington policy. Got the biggest thing Free roles you've got a ninety seven seconds slower than account lee and and then always corinna the the first time before Three kiddies they won the first race of the instructor. Also the slop which i've got a ninety two buyer so yes. There were free to browse babar. Three berry Impressive wins the other two. Were second time stars. This is the first time started so yeah brighter and brighter. See you there was also there was also actually a maiden act At oakland won the of. Brad coaxes the daredevil. He's my honey. Badger got got a solid solid graduation number. Eighty six for that one As well as the happy the race fallen be receive is happy figuring second chasing that. He's in a very unlucky worse. You know he started square and highly motivated raced. Saratoga were newsom for todd pletcher. And then he wanted to came running bob cutthroat jewel again and he comes back off a layoff and he was into this creek show worse pretty good worst. But steve's managed to get and you know he seems like you know in the days for so few races that strong paces seems to to find song on every race runs in in the voice even though he's so for three buddy i brought him up with with with asmussen. Because that really you know it really felt like Actually that was a race. That on friday when we were weak weekend previewing. That was a race there. Was somebody else. In fact the horse i think that was third at that. Had that had major pedigree as well so there was really no know jones. Larry jones had the lyric jones. Yeah have the sibling to rocketry. The horsely was third rising empire. Yes yes that could be okay. That was I started the season for that one. There was a bunch of pedigree on parade On On saturday at oak. Want in fact. I didn't i didn't notice how the firing line the sibling no good. No good didn't run. Good was seventh. Frosted blue Eddie speaking of oaklawn and of course the the broadcasts that are tying together action around the country what explained to everybody the pace scenario lesson that that was being discussed pretty immediately after the arkansas derby in regards to concert tour and whether it was simply a matter of getting an easier pace in the rebel or is this a horse. Do you think might be a little distance. Compromised doesn't necessarily going to relish that trip because it sure looked like he was comfortable on the backstretch he was rating comfortably. Wow near listen. I was wrong about connor river. People that said he it was an and also say it was bad ride. The rebel is really fair to florante. Because my guess is this was signed the blackhawks monitored as well so. I don't think it was a bad ride was decision. That didn't work out. There's a very big difference between the two. And i think it be very unfair to criticize raw for what happened the rebel. I don't think there's too many of us out there. That thought it wasn't the right tactic. It turned out that he's not a worst comfortable rating like that outside forces they learned that the ardor preps don't have to win them. You wanna find out things were so they round out at a river is he needs to be on the edge and i thought if they wrote them in rebel the way they would back nowhere now maybe.
