"About your story, why your story was part of the first movie. Yeah, so I'm an entrepreneur here in Dallas, started my company when I was about 25, 26 years old. I started it as a small plumbing company and was able to grow it to a relatively large company at the same time I was involved in the Dallas county Republican Party. And so Justin Malone, who's a director of Uncle Tom. He was looking for stories that he could use, and this documentary that he was putting together. And so his assistant writer and cell called me one day and said, hey, we're doing this film. Would you be interested in being interviewed for it? And so I agree to do that. They were able to then take that footage along with a couple of other Dallas conservatives and show it to folks like Larry elder, Larry decided to become an executive producer for the film, which gave just an access to other more prominent black conservatives. And so the rest, as they say, is history.

I don't believe you when you say you voted for trump. I don't believe that for one minute. No rational person. I mean Do you feel like you're familiar with president trump. Do you realize that. President trump was the first president since carter not to start a war. Do you really think. Donald trump was interested in starting wars anywhere. He wanted to get us out of wars. Paul you know that. I i agree with that. I think that donald trump was like many very successful people On the on the verge of being little bit derain like one. Give me an example of that. This is your trump supporter. Your trump voter since you voted for trump. Since you voted for which frankly makes me question your sanity. You would be willing to vote for somebody you consider range. What did you think was borderline. Deranged about president trump. How about just one or two examples that come to mind well. I know the timing is good but do you have a desire to pitcher policies to the test. You know carl. I get asked that question a lot. And what this sound to sound arrogant. But i love the series a die. Hard movies with bruce willis and one of the ones he was and it wasn't one of the third or fourth one wasn't particularly good but he's in the car and he savings as the world And somebody says the. And why are you doing this what you do this. And he said. Because somebody has to. And i'm looking at the guys that were running against so i didn't think they can win. I know that i could bring something to the table. I've been talking about crime in rising homelessness and the rise of the cost of living in the fact that people leaving california for years. And i really do think i have something to say about it and i felt that i have. I had a moral. I'm a man of faith. A spiritual and patriotic duty to do this. And you're right. I'm not doing it for money. Obviously not doing it for fame. I in fact. I'm losing And you know you always run. I've been vaccinated. I'm older i've got a co morbidity and contrary to the ads my opponent has been running. I'm not antibac-. But i do believe a lot of people for example followed the advice of calmly harris and joe biden when they said if donald trump told him to take the vaccine. They wouldn't take the vaccine was done real fast. The fda approved it on an emergency basis and less than a year the average vaccine takes about five years And a lot of people. Just don't wanna take it. I was at a campaign stop in palm desert and went into a coffee shop. Carl and waited on by a very charming young lady. And i notice that half the people at the wait staff wearing masks and half of them weren't and i asked her. What was the policy in the store and she said well. My boss allows us to wear mask african. That we're a man i said you've been vaccinated. She said no i. May i ask why. She smiled and she said well. You may ask bound to give you a reason why i choose not to. I mean isn't that america didn't thomas jefferson warning against trading freedom for public safety. And i think that everybody in california now who wants to be vaccinated been vaccinated and poor people can be vaccinated for free. A lot of people have made the decision not to be made. And i think we ought to respect that. Why don't you The other issues as well. I know you're listen. Obviously you made some homeless people upset today. It looks so that's a. That's a big issue for you. Once you speak right and many of them have mentally ill mentally. Ill problems Some of them are schizophrenic. Eating a danger to themselves or others. And i think we demonstrated that this problem has gotten worse and worse and worse under my phone when he ran for mayor in two thousand four. He said ten years. I'm gonna clean up the homeless problem in san francisco. That would have been twenty fourteen. Have you been to san francisco lately to. Providence gotten worse. And that's because i call it. The homeless industrial complex Homes are being built a substantially higher cost. And we'd be built if the private sector bills them without dealing with the underlying reason why people are homeless in the first place and it's largely because of mental illness and because of substance abuse these people need to be treated and government has proved itself to be ineffective. We need to involve nonprofit community activists churches synagogues and mosques. And once that done they need to have low cost housing i talked to dr ben.

Suddenly he became famous because he played someone even more famous than he was which is kind of the ultimate modern experience. It's like andy. Warhol would have a field day with it being famous playing guys. Who's really famous right. Yeah and then i you know. I think they're the first season. Yeah people were jealous and then. Suddenly people started having wishful them where they were like. Oh this is like me and my friends. This how we're going to be next year. Well adrienne how do you feel. This has impacted your career. I mean on one hand. It's it's awesome because you're in a hot. Tv show on the other hand. You're playing a guy who's known for being an actor who's a famous actor who i could see casting people going. I don't want the guy who's known for being the famous actor in a movie. You know what. I mean as it impacted in a negative or positive way Well truthfully i don't know because i haven't been spending a lot of time You acting other than Entourage and the adventures of power and a couple of other smaller projects. Because i've been directing my own documentary which is taken up a a whole lot of my town where we saw. I saw the one where you went in search. You hear father birth father which was great and For me i in a candid compliment. But it's hard to fuck up a documentary. I love documentaries. I feel like. I'm learning something. I'm if it's real if the characters unreal in every once in a while you get a The kid stays in the picture or overnight with I don't know if you guys have ever seen that one but it's just it's so insane. It's it's unbelievable but And i enjoyed years very much. But i just love documentary but it does seem like it's not really much way to make a living as it. No no i mean when you when you really take the hours like the hours of planning the hours you spend the edit bay the hours you spend shooting the footage is like if somebody said like how lawyers charged like they go. Oh i was golfing today. But i was thinking about your case so i'm going to charge you for four hours like if you took everyone your hours thinking about one of these documentaries working on it editing. All the things all the things involved with it and then took the prophet. You would be better off getting a job at del taco right from an hourly standpoint Yeah i i think monetary than the. Yeah it's worse. I ended up. Having like i'd be in debt to del taco. Somehow right dome saw. Oh yeah yeah yeah. So no. it's the reward is definitely not You know dollars and cents. It's it's but then are you is it is Is entourage lucrative enough. That you can just do this or is your lifestyle. Sort of spartan enough. Oh yeah that's that's definitely the case i mean. Entourage has given me an opportunity to make documentaries and spend inordinate amount of time. You know contemplating the world and making films about it. I don't let me put words in your mouth. But i hate it when people disagree with me. You seem to me like a guy who doesn't need a whole bunch of cars and whole bunch of houses and a whole bunch of cocaine and the whole bunch of shit like i mean. He seemed like an artist. Like we're talking miami. I said where do you live. And you're like i'm a new yorker and brooklyn. And i said i move out here and you said i could never live out here. So you're you're not one of these guys That you know. Mc hammer can equip. Vince yes i don't need them but they're fun right but you don't. You're not a slave to this stuff. I mean you have more artists lifestyle. Yeah i mean for the most part You know we play music and you know it's been a lot of time uh recording at the house and and also making films I come from like the diy generation. I guess you know what they're doing it. I'm not waiting for someone to give me a role or begging for a job. It's it's you know we we have all of these opportunities other technology at our disposal to just go out and make things and create and communicate. I mean this seems a little like the same spirit here. Yeah well what happened with me is I got fired from my radio. Job and So my buddy. I went to high school with you. Met out there. Pouring the red wine he said You start podcast. It and i said What's that you just talk. Say whatever you want and People download it. And i said house addy make money and he said i don't know what do it you know and then eventually get enough downloads. Get enough big enough audience and then figure out a way to you. Know find that audience and get a couple nichols them and That's what we did. And then we started in other shows in the network and start dreaming him.
