"Your basketball with the three point line and then f. l. with protecting the quarterback and baseball. It's been pretty much other than the original gauge in the american league. That goes way back into the nineties. this was Or before that even You know baseball has an rule changes so you know to tweak to make the game better for the fans I think is in everyone's interest. Yeah now and other area in which you wind up getting involved in everyone in ownership now kind of winds up getting involved as politics have kind of come into the game. Every sport at every level as the recent moving to the all star game showed And the giants have a couple of times had to address some issues with one of your principal owners. Charles johnson who a kind of step back a little bit at this point To various different political organizations. What what did you think of the way that the team handled that team stance on some of those things and are you concerned about this being an issue in the future. Well i think they look. The giants have always stood in the community for you know for on issues that are important to the community. I i go back to early nineties. When we took a stance on on aids and gay rights et cetera. Where and that wasn't something that the federal sports teams had done. So we don't we certainly don't shy away from it I think we also have to recognize though that you know people come to ball games to to enjoy an experience that maybe gets away from politics too. So you know if there's an issue in our community that's important. I know you know in the wake of nine eleven and not all issues that all sort of issues that are on our minds are necessarily controversial. Right so i remember in the wake of nine. Eleven people to the ballpark and you know when there was just a coming together. A communal spirit that You know that we were grateful to be. Americans grateful to be together and Y'all and and i was pretty scared In the days after nine eleven. So so we we look at. The ballpark is at town center. And as a as a place where people can come together and and enjoy a sense of community. We had a We've had for twenty years. We've worked with the With community leaders on violence prevention issues. you know the late to You know to Gun control and other things. So i think that you know. There's there's a role for the place ford and it doesn't have to be you know sort of a hard core hardscrabble politics either yeah Well let's let's switch back to our original topic. Which is the most fun the home opener. Friday what are you most looking forward to. At the ballpark. I'm most looking forward to the recapturing that feeling susan of of just he'll beginnings that opening day brings and this is times ten th the normal opening day. Because it's a it's not just over the winter is over and they whether getting nice and here comes spring and summer but this is a year of of of a really tough challenges in a community where most of us were if we could You know housebound or or you know. And some were worth some folks who are working in dangerous and risky conditions so what. I am looking for for two on friday as really a sort of rejoicing. All of that with all of that in rejoicing the and kind of reflecting on what where we've come as a community and and the fact that through a lot of us really you know vericose from human effort You know in in Healthcare workers and food service workers and in the pharmaceutical companies delivering vaccines way. Faster than anybody thought that That were were. you know. We've we've we're getting there. And i just a lot of gratitude and being able. Even though i can't hug strangers i can only hope people in my pod I'm gonna do virtual hug shoots. I do personal. Hugs to eighty nine hundred people. That sounds like a plan and garlic fries. I think that's probably that might be where. I had vigorous fries. And it's you know what's great is not just eating garlic fries. It's the smell. The guard become like the baseball smell. "Okay. Let's talk to Chris necks, take Chris. Mary. How are you today? Goodness, which thing good. Hey, Larry Baer? Just depends on where you're at. Yeah. Hey. You don't have to be an audio file. The love and death of an American car by Jim penman. Guitar lick for about a week afterward. As sluggish words. Yes, I think audio file might be the wrong word for that one. But the other word I can't say on the radio, it sounds like someone mucking Jim Morrison a little bit. You Mark, Jim Morrison nobody ever saw the body. What is it that you say retirement, the doors some lyric? Hey whip the Hoss's. I. We got John up next. John. To John, would you think musical instrument in the title? I know there's a couple of fans. Go with little. Baby. Killjoy man. Three minutes. This Mylan has the intro. The David Lee Roth said it sounded Mexican to me. So I wrote a song for senior Rita. And it just works the lyrics, edges too good. So crazy if it sounded good together with this. That's going to get a listen later today..

"Because wants to Marcus comes back everything look a little different. But. We'll reevaluate. I'll I feel pretty good about having Stephan during long quarter that's been going. Well, so we'll probably continue with that. And what happens around that will? It's a big deal that he mentioned that Steph Andrew are playing well together. And if they play the whole first quarter, you don't know what they're gonna do with Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant used to playing the whole first quarter. So this is him being a team player. If you change is his routine, which he has done the last couple of games, but Kevin Durant can really play with any lineup. You really can. So I wouldn't be surprised if they maybe take about a couple minutes early to bring him in a couple of minutes earlier in the second. But if you close out with a lineup of Steph, Draymond K D dolla, maybe a looney to end the first quarter then in the second quarter. You could go back essentially to that Quinn cook, Shaun Livingston Klay Thompson DeMarcus cousins, and then you fill in with Jordan bowel Jonas Repco in the fifth spot. So it's possible they stick with that. It'll be fun to see the really going to tweak with the lineups before they get to play offs. Because they really wanna find a rotation that works for them. Let's go to the giants now. So first we need. Start with the more serious news. And that's the Larry Baer incident. And the situation is everyone knows that he was caught on camera in a domestic dispute with his wife, and there's been it's just not a good look for the giants right now. And it's not a good look for many, different reasons. But Larry Baer is not to be charged by the San Francisco district attorney's office. They decided they concluded they did not want to press charges. Now, again, this is obviously not a good look for the organization. It's interesting to see what the giants will do with it. It's a very precarious situation. And it's it's a sensitive matter. But I would just say this it's important for everyone to be aware of when you rush to judgment, and when your patient would judgment, and when you're angry, and when you're in different just be aware of it. And just think internally why are the reasons you rush or don't at whether it's socio socio economic status or or race. Ace or position of power or any of that. Just just think of why one case you're rushing to judgment and one you're not and just try to be consistent. That's all I would say, and that's what I try to do with myself. And we'll see what happens with the giants. And hopefully, they stay consistent with their message as well, including Larry Baer, but the giants let's go over to the team on the field. The giants did not have a game and Alex Pavlovich NBC sports bay area. Giants insider said running article about where they can get better than last season. And particularly he talked about the bullpen and the depth now first of all a full season. And now this is asking a lot from a full season of health for a lot of these players for the giants because we have known over the last few years that has been an issue but a full season of a healthy mad bum. A be a healthy shark Posey. Maybe a full season of Will Smith that in itself should make the giants a lot better than last season. But just in general the depth in the bullpen is better than last season. In the bullpen last year as Alex wrote had hunter Strickland pitch forty nine appearances had a one point four one whip. He wasn't the issue at the giants. You actually had some good games early on. But it wasn't great Pierce Johnson. Man. I don't wanna pick on the guy of this is the second time. I've mentioned him in the last week thirty seven appearances yet a five point five six ERA are people like Bergen or got going to replace them? Maybe but just in general, they have more depth than the pen. Also just stepped on the field last year Gorki Hernandez had four hundred fifty one plate appearances. Yes, he hit a lot of home runs especially early on. But he struggled mightily. Otherwise hunter Pence at two hundred forty eight plate appearances. He did not have a good season Gregor Blanco two hundred and three plate appearances. He did not have a great season. Austin Jackson had a lot of plate appearances. They add to cut him, Cal Tomlinson. Love the guy I'm a big fan of specs but one hundred fifty two plate appearances did not have that great results chase. Dr. No also seemed like a pretty cool dude hundred plate appearances not great results. So the point is there's a lot of depth replace. Is there do they have the pieces to do that? They have a healthy Pablo Sandoval, which is good to know that helps them automatically just playing around the diamond just in terms of energy and just in terms of a fan favorite. It's fun to watch. Pablo? They have a healthy MAC Williamson. Maybe that plays into it Gerardo par. They're going to rotate through some of these guys in the outfield and just replacing a hundred Pence or Gorky Gregor Blanco. Withdraw par in itself is just an upgrade. And finally solarte's. I'm excited to watch solarte's play. He can play all over the diamond. And he is somebody. That's definitely going to provide from some depth for the giants. But overall, again, it's the health of these players can Brennan belt. Stay consistent can Joe panic. Stay on the field house. Brandon Crawford looking with his swing is he going to find it again. Defensively they're all supposed to play pretty well longoria was a gold glove winner really struggle with the glove especially earlier in the season. But could he get hot with the back? Could he maintain a good glove this season? These are the questions that you have to ask. But yet again the question Mark will be health. Can they say healthy if so maybe this team has a chance to I don't know? I don't I don't wanna say contend that is a bold statement from this team. But I would say maybe just make some games interesting. At least maybe they make the season interesting. But let's be honest, if they make it interesting, it'll be them trading away. A lot of these guys because they wanna get some value back, and they want to shed some contracts. Yeah, I know sorry to be the Downer. But Murphy will be on soon. And he's going to be much more of a Downer than me. So, you know, just cut me a break when we come back. We gotta talk about Mike trout. He's getting paid a lot of money just a little bit more than me. We'll compare our salaries. I'm just kidding. All that coming up this. Leadoff spot. I'm grant Lipin are six av sports leader. NBR's.

"Far too often in baseball sports in general, and it's seeing a video like this is still bracing the initial statement from Larry Baer seemed to be banking on. Nobody seeing this video which TMZ pup. You know, the way we found out about it is TMZ published it so it was just. I mean, I was gonna say came off as kind of glib and dismissive. And I don't think we need the came off as you know, it was so the the Commissioner's office is dealing with this are they said they're looking into Larry Baer is taking a leave of absence. This is not like the Roberto assume the case or or anything interruptus brussel where there's. What is alleged to have happened went on behind the scenes, and there's you know, there's physical evidence of this era. Multiple multiple multiple witnesses without a stake in any way in the story. There's video that's extremely public in. It's just I. I hopefully does something about this. But I worry that there's no no mechanism for them to pulp to punish an owner like this. Because what you know, they can they suspend them what you know. How can you find somebody that rich in any way that doesn't come off like a slap on the wrist? Yo you could they force him to sell his stake in the team, and he have them just walk away as a multi-billionaire. You know, it just it's disheartening to know that. It certainly doesn't seem right off the bat that that he used this as a serious issue. And yeah, I'm not sure what the league can really do about it. Yeah. So he has taken a voluntary leave, or at least that's how they're terming it. You would hope that the existence of video did not always make the difference in incidents like this. But it often seems to does that when you can't see it. Someone can spin it you can.

"That's literally the noise that his wife made. So here's the thing. So she's in the chair and trying to grab his phone, right? She's trying to hold on and essentially she falls out of the chair because she's not giving up the phone, and he's pulling it, right? He's trying to pry the phone from her grip, and she ends up falling on the ground. Witnesses said the couple argued for roughly a half hour before that and overheard them talking about getting counseling. But they didn't know what the argument was about witness Taylor Haskins was working at a nearby juice shop, he told the TV station that she was yelling and trying to hold onto her phone when while she fell to the ground. The physical confrontation lasted just seconds and Larry Baer who owns the San Francisco Giants quickly walked away after prying the phone from his wife. That's what super cold about it. The guy picks up the phone and his coffee and just leaves her. I mean, what are you supposed to do sit around wait for the cops. I will say Seth. I'm not ready to side with you yet, and you know, just full on housing. But I will say I don't know that the noise that that woman made was proper for the action that she received. I'll say that much is this domestic abuse. Is this domestic violence is he's going to grab something. That's that's just what I'm asking. I mean, if you you can't playfully punch a woman in the face. What you what? Hey, man. You're going to grab some of your. I'm just I'm saying is there a certain amount of just like rough housing or docking into a a wife. That's that's acceptable. And then is there a point where this guy's trying to grab his phone? She falls over should this guy. Go to jail for abusing his wife, or are you just having a heated argument after being together for thirty years. Is it okay? Or not okay. If someone grabs your phone to try to grab it back from their hands. That's what we're basically asking her because that's all he did. Now, she was seated because she had an injured foot. So he's trying to grab her foul man while she's so he he froze wife to the ground when she was she didn't have good balance because injured foot, John. Ground. He tried to rescue. Okay. Before the you thought that screen was withdrawn street was drama. But that doesn't mean that the motion was warranted. John at any point like women are getting choked out in the bedroom. You know, an and she fell over she fell over our winning you getting. Team. So how do we go from women going choked in the bedroom to this? I'm just saying there's we should be able to choke him out of the thank you a punch in the face. It's clear domestic violence. You slap. You shovel woman down you can't cream haunted. That's cleared domestic violence and all that. Right here. Like what what did he do wrong? You've gotta be okay. I hear you saying if he grabbed my phone, and we're in a fight, and I went to grab it, and she fell over do I go to jail. Okay. I'm not putting it. Yeah. I'm just that's that's the question. I'm asking here earnings go. Hey, they're having they're having a dislike disagreement. We look no the evidence agreements somebody false. Yes. Seriously. I get it. We get that. Don't take your phone. Are you getting put down? Now. I'm not even past coated. I got nothing to hide. Right. You can you can come look at all my stuff, but that just asking questions about a relationship because one one time at one point life. I'm going to be thirty years in, and I swear to know what the rules are. He got he got like an under hook. That's that. He grabbed her down. Yeah. So now, he's majorly hiding and then second of all in public. Didn't take his phone at private though because she kinda. Yeah, she may have brought that on herself. She was asking for talking about this. I'm wider. I'm going wide. I'm having. No, she's not big. Oh, I'm having a a large just about relationships of what's acceptable. And what? What cry is the line? So we choke him in the bedroom. We should choke him out of the out of the bedroom. I obviously had the point you're putting your hands on your bigger part of they fall. I get it. I don't think I I don't even say that. What's implied seventy seven five seven nine hundred eighty five Rick. Okay. Or not okay. If your partner grabs your phone you're allowed to bludgeon with baseball. I mean, you're allowed to grab your phone back. I think it's okay. I I did see the video. I saw a last night. And this is what I'll say. And I I kinda see what's happening. You know, first off there's a little thing called in ten. He's not like swinging wildly trying to beat beater to get the phone. Right. And I it's not a good look. But I think also what's important here that is going way over the top with everybody. Are the police entertaining complain against him? Did he commit a crime? Well, the data crime. I don't think I think it's okay. In the sense that it may not be the best look, and maybe thinking about it after the fact, maybe he should have done that he didn't commit a crime. Then what's he may have the the San Francisco police department confirmed on Friday that it is investigating an incident. And major league baseball said we are aware of the incident, and we're gathering facts and then today Larry Baer stepped away from the team not step down through. Yeah. What can I just say this? Yeah. See now. Now, he's paying he's painted a corner because there's video out there. It almost works against them the whole thing, they're investigating okay investigated. But if there was no video, and he wasn't a high profile die, and she's already come out and said, oh, I flip because of my foot, which I I don't believe. Right. But my point is like the guys painted in the corner now because of all those factors there's a video. Sure. And I'm not saying, it's right. He was wrong. But I don't think it rises to the level of a crime and the guy maybe potentially losing his job for five seconds lapse in judgment. You know, interesting trying to get his phone back. All right. I appreciate the call you guys he'd set. Listen. That's my guy because we don't agree with that were just having a conversation. Right. That's what we do. He's a CEO, by the way. I misspoke. He's not the owner. He's the CEO seventy seven five seven nine one hundred five you gotta do you. Gotta you gotta do that in public. That's where I think. Yeah. You don't have fights. Yeah. I mean, no matter what this is right or wrong. You take your phone in public. You just wait until nobody's looking in the new Trump card yellow like the rest of us, do Tim what's up during the music. Hey him. Hey, how you doing it? I think it's absolutely okay. Okay, shocking. So how far do you take that as she won't give you the phone back to pepper and the God or what no no down tackle or not? Down to the ground and take back. That's all all right as you're walking away. Do you get a shot to the ribs? Or no. Then you you're gonna get domestic for that. No, no. You just tackle or ground. Take your phone walkaway. This guy knows spoken like a gentleman who's done this before it's a bad luck. But what are you supposed to do? If you want your phone back. And that's the thing at some point. She's committing a crime right Steph, bike she stole my phone. And now, I have to do whatever I have to do to get it back. You have my property if that involves me, you know, well, Boston you up. I mean, you can't go through somebody's phone, right? Yeah. What's mine is yours? Yeah. No. I hear you. I'm not pushing anybody down in public. This is not me. Like, I said this is not about this story. A broader conversation. Sometimes oh, I bumped into you you fell down. Am I going to jail I need to know sometimes altercation? Women tend to throw themselves down the stairs. Riccardi? What's up grab a live agent? Codey? Thank you buddies. Okay. Or not. Okay. What this dude did not? Okay. If he's doing that in public. I'm playing worse things in private like why what you doing in private? I'm not I'm just saying like I've had emotional dramatic finds with my wife in private, but I've also always had mindset in public to just not get crazy. Yeah. Those if she's gonna keep keep the phone then walk away and go get another phone don't risk your career. But all your secrets are on that phone, right? Secret numbers. Secret, nasty, Kris? Okay. Now, don't be married. Seventy seven five seven nine one hundred five what's up Louis? Okay. Or not. Okay. I need some secrets. I think it is. Okay. Yeah. Average cell phone is around a thousand bucks. I think anything over like three hundred dollars is. Felony and you can use deadly force in commend you. Gotta clean. You're saying you should've killed her. I'm just saying. Okay..

"Game. The final score the Rockies over the giants nine to three. John Miller was sitting in one of those booths. Like like, Dave. And I were talking about around the what was it Dave around Wimbledon? Maybe when they're calling the match, but but nobody's actually there at the field watching the ball game. And settle a John Miller was like sitting in a sound booth Colin that no crowd behind him. Giants lose yesterday's spring training tilt nine to three at the hands of the Colorado Rockies. If you're gonna make note of one thing the ball game. It was interesting Cal Friedland. What are the best lefties in the National League? Certainly the National League West face the giants yesterday, you might have gotten a little look at what the giants are thinking with a left handed pitcher out there as far as the starting lineup goes in. It's still had Stephen Duggar up at the top of the lineup. Get Posey than Longo hitting third belt. Fourth Crawford was fifty DHA. I'd imagine he would be the shortstop is the giants don't play with the designated hitter. And you had Abby Avellino in their at short bat. Ninth Cameron may been was the right fielder. Williamson the leftfielder and Alan Hansen at second base. So quite possibly look at maybe even with the splits they'd be playing you'd still have Stephen, Doug. Centerfield who who I don't believe is is that much different against lefties and righties at least in the minor leagues. Derek Rodriguez did start the game three innings to hits to watch two strikeouts in earned run. Trevor got a diamond paint attention to a little bit. They had acquired him from the Washington nationals. The right ended relief pitcher he threw one inning hit. But he struck out the side. He throws a real hard. And then a Jose Lopez a guy we were kind of looking at last week is a guy we'd we'd expect to at some point this year. At least make some spots starts. He'd probably be one of the top top middle of the road pull ups from Sacramento. I think if you're looking for a spot starter he went one inning. He gave up five hits for Ernie's. And that's your giants nine three loss from yesterday. We'll talk a little bit about Saturday as well. But I think we do before we get into anything else from the weekend or or from what happened with the warriors on Saturday. A big one twenty one seventeen win for them over the Philadelphia. Seventy Sixers kind of a raucous crowd out in Philly. Also is the Larry Baer stuff. We do have to discuss this. I don't think that like, I don't think anybody it can be our gets into sports talk radio or anybody gets into sports talk radio to want to talk about this stuff. It's nothing that makes me comfortable, and it shouldn't make you comfortable, it, should it should give you some sort of a motion or some sort of you should have a reaction to to what had happened on Friday with Larry and his wife. Pam bear out in Hayes valley the photo of the video that dropped Friday afternoon after we were off the air course here in the leadoff spot. But it was talked about all weekend long. And I think I think maybe for the giants. That's a good thing for them as far as their image goes that they maybe happened on a Friday. They get a little bit of a cooling period that he put out a statement on Friday. Both the giants from the organization and then Larry baron pander separately for their remorse in their their involvement in the the situation or in the the altercation that went down between giants CEO and his wife. I think after the Reuben foster scenario or after what had happened at least the first time around and then the second time with him getting cut while they were out at the team hotel in Tampa Bay. Most of us myself included, and I came on it, and and people on the textile, and are are you ready to apologize for what happened with Reuben foster admitting you're wrong. I don't think there was a right or wrong or a winner or a loser in any of those situations. Right. Nobody comes out looking good. Nobody comes out feeling good for many of those situations. I think the result of what had happened though was after the initial one where. Lisa NS went on the stand and said, she lied about all of it. After she'd filed a police report saying maybe the video that was out about them was not necessarily what happened. Maybe it wasn't even Ruben. There was all sorts of speculation about what had happened what had happened. And I think a lot of us jumped to the initial reaction of if this is happening with a football player on the team I root for I do not want him on the team that I root for and I think that's a totally logical and normal reaction to what had happened. The the difference for me now, or I guess, I guess what had happened after the case with with Reuben foster as you pull back and you say, hey, we maybe didn't have all the details. It was a lot cloudier and more confusing than any of us could have thought. Obviously, we're not in that relationship. You're not knowing what's going on behind closed doors. We don't know what what all played into that the difference with the Reuben foster scenario, I think just a little bit. Is that with Reuben foster? You have the Nick Sabin comment from the combine and the suspension and the the dirty test at the combine in the shoulder problems saying this guy's no altar boy, which in hindsight comment from the Nick Sabin standpoint. If you can keep this guy on a on a tight leash, and you can keep them under wraps, and you can Raynham in. Then he'll be a good football player for you. But when you went out on his own, and it's much different. When you get to the NFL, and when you're playing college football when you're in college football every minute of your day is planned out for you from time to get up to your team breakfast to your morning film session to when you go to class and get your homework done. Then you gotta go back to practice. Then you get your team dinner. Then you're doing more film study or game plan study, whatever it is. And then there's also the threat that if you don't take care of this business now, you may not get to the NFL. Right. So the Reuben foster situation, I think a lot of people were skeptical of him and his attitude when he got to the NFL, right? That that this was something that was a possibility or that they were afraid of when they got to the NFL. Bill. The issue I have here. And I'm and I'm not trying to compare the Larry Baer situation per se to the Reuben foster situation, but my reaction to hearing about it and seeing the video emotionally was very much the same. And I don't think that's being dishonest. I don't think that's being unfair. I think that when we look at this situation with Larry Baer, and we say, we don't have all the detail. It's a nineteen second video. First of all, I put no blame at any point ever on on Pam bear. I can't I have based on what I've seen in the reaction. I have to the video I can't place any blame on Pam bear. There. There is no aggression on her part. Tim Keller commie mentions numerous times and his article from the weekend that the screaming of her is is what makes this really tough days when there's a video out. We saw it with Ray rice, we saw with with Kareem last season when there's a video out everything becomes more real everything becomes more emotional. Now, I'm not saying that I have the reaction that Larry Barron, a knee jerk reaction needs to be removed as president or CEO or should have nothing to do with your organization. I'm okay with waiting until a full investigations done to figure out what exactly the punishment should be. But I will say that based on when you first see something like this. I think we all I think naturally our first reaction is emotional. I think naturally our first reaction is to tied into to something that we can relate to or or. Something that we're emotional about. Again, I'm not comparing the Reuben foster situation to this while this to me is a lot different because there is a video. So everyone who said wait and see about Reuben foster if you if you didn't say wait and see about Reuben foster, and you are saying wait and see about this. I think there's a reason why I think we need to ask the question. Why is that why do we view these as two totally separate things? One of them has a video and one of them did not another part of this is that Larry Baer for so many years for as long as I've been a giants fan and for as long as we follow the giants here in San Francisco, I think has done a very good job as being the face of this franchise as being the guy who was always calm, cool collected telecom. You said you almost never see him angry. You never see him loses. Cool, and I agree with that. Which is why this was such a strange at least from the outside to us viewers and out of character thing for Larry Baer. But to to quote Kawakami again. We don't know. All the details. It is eight one thousand nine second video what we do know was not pretty, but we did see was he was a pretty ugly scene on video. I'm not willing to say he struck her not willing to say he dragged her I do think that there was a level of aggression from Larry Baer that is not acceptable towards any woman at any point unless you're your life is in danger. And I don't think anybody believes that was the case if you look at major league baseball, and what's happened with domestic violence over the last will say four years now, it is only been how about this. This actually shocked me after finding this out. And I saw that a Jeff passan and Ken Rosenthal on Friday put out sedate been saying that front office personnel. And members of of each organization are still held under the major league baseball domestic violence policy. So any owner and he front office administrator? Whatever happens there still under that same policy. I believe there's a drug testing policy that they fall under as well. So they put out the Larry Baer is subject to the investigation, which we're now hearing is happening what I was shocked to find out. And I guess I must have known this. But when I did the quick research to look it up yet, again MLB has only had a domestic violence policy in place since August twentieth of two thousand fifteen. Prior to August of two thousand fifteen there was a number of high level big name players that had been accused or investigated on domestic violence charges that include can Saco Dante Bichette Barry Bonds. Bobby Cox, wil Cordero Pedro, Julio Lugo, Milton, Bradley, and and a bunch of others to name a few. And then you go to current players since two thousand fifteen major league baseball has suspended one two three four five six seven eight nine players. Most of whom were all stars or big name players for accusations or allegations of domestic violence. They include a Ronaldus Chapman. Puig was investigated. Jose Reyes did fifty one games. Hector Olivera saw eighty two games. Yours familiar. Got fifteen. Derek Norris was suspended for the remainder of the season. Back in two thousand seventeen Steven Wright, the knuckleballer the Red Sox got fifteen games. Roberto SUNA last year of the Toronto Blue Jays. And then of the Houston Astros got seventy five games. And Addison Russell the cubs got forty games. This all comes back again, right after I mean, this is the week that they actually I think it was on Monday or Tuesday. They actually had a domestic violence meeting. I think all the players in major league baseball had to attend earlier in the week last week. No joklik. The giants went on Monday or Tuesday and had to sit through this sensitivity training and go through this. It's it's it's ironic to say the least that this happened on Friday. I believe that at some point and some point soon there will have to be a decision made as to whether or not Larry Baer will be involved in the day to day operations around this team or for this team. I don't see any way that can continue to happen. At least in the immediate aftermath of this. Henry showman of the chronicle put out an article this weekend saying the giants officials spent the weekend kind of talking about that deciding who it's going to be like you look at what's happened this off season. I mean the thing with Charles Johnson. And the and the Mississippi was it a congresswoman and now a Senator I believe it was Cindy Smith would hide Smith. Donating money to fund of of a Republican candidate who put out blatantly racist campaign videos. I'm not calling Charles Johnson out for it. Thank you should probably have a better idea of where your money's going. But as far as that happening this off season with 'em. That's not a guy who can be the face of your franchise right now. So the names that are mentioned by by han- showman in the chronicle. He mentions Stacey slaughter the communications office Alfonzo filter the administration, and then Mario Allio and Jack bear general counsel people who could potentially in the immediate aftermath handle the day-to-day operations..

"Hi, rapid up Friday evening. We're day to day, obviously with the Larry Baer situation. We've been talking about all night. Let's try to get into some NFL for just a couple of minutes. Here is wrap up the show. We were talking to Jason Cole editor in chief at fan cited dot com about really what's going on in the combine an indie. The reports are hearing about Cuyler Murray. Everyone's excited about him. He's gonna go top five top ten. Woo. Okay. To who though. Who though I wonder is it the cardinals and they're gonna take one. Got just shake everything up. I like to San Antonio Brown conversation going with the raiders the raiders are very interested in AB. They wanna bring him out to the bay area. And I want to see it happen. Oh, by the way, Marcus I found the list of teams eligible for hard knocks. It's five not four. I thought it was four others Redskins, obviously, raiders Niners and. And the lions, but it's the New York Giants as well. They're eligible for hard knocks twenty nine thousand nine okay, Washington. Nope. Nothing. Interesting there. We're gonna watch Alex Smith rehabbing from the leg. Fun Detroit's who cares. Matt Patricia now boring that would be. The other three are very interesting. The forty Niners. Was we know Shanahan doesn't want any part of it. I would love to see it. I would love to see Garoppolo and camp with shannahan. But I highly doubt that's going to happen. So I think it's down for hard knocks to the New York Giants in the rate is, and I I wanna see Antonio Brown on the raiders so bad because I think it's going to be a disaster. And what the raiders franchise has done to me and other raider fans, I want that for them. I want them to have a terrible two years here. And I want the drama be great to talk about wouldn't it? First off Jon Gruden loves TV and he's a rockstar on TV. So he'd like that Jon Gruden love seeing himself on T Jon Gruden loves John gruden's and Jon Gruden yet. But Antonio Brown in that locker room John thinks he can corral. Really? All right. Look at all the reports that we read daily about him in practice, and how immature Jason Cole talking about his mindset. It is. Is a lot of problems that he's caused and for a franchise that was just so fantastic forever. I mean, I don't know what is going on with the Pittsburgh Steelers weird. The last couple of years though, right? Antonio brown. Didn't have a he wasn't the only one lady on bell had a hand in as well. But I I just I just think this whole Antonio Brown discussion is fantastic Steelers. Want a first round pick forum? The price went up. We thought for a minute. The price went down on Antonio Brown by now he wants to go here there or the other place. It's not up to him. It's it's up to the Steelers. And like we were talking about Jason co he's not going to the patriots at all. They can give them everything. They the patriots can give the Pittsburgh Steelers all Boston. And he's still not being sent over there. He's not going anywhere in the division. I don't think extensive send him out west doesn't it? It does indeed forty Niner fans one. I think they gotta want him to death any that number one wide receiver. I got a question for you from the Pittsburgh Steelers perspective on how high do you think the value is for an Tonio Brown because we don't see too many wide receivers traded a first round draft pick people thought it was crazy to see a Mark Cooper trader, I John traffic. Now people are saying that's a good deal for Dallas. It's a different situation though. I mean, Amari Cooper that was a shock wasn't it when he was traded to Dallas, no doubt. I mean, it just John was getting ready to all the register guys. He's getting rid of all of them. Mari Khalil get rid of him. Antonio Brown wanted to leave. I don't think the Pittsburgh Steelers wanted to part with he he's kicked and screamed in through temper tantrum we wanted out. That's absolutely true. But do you think Antonio Brown will get a higher package in return for himself? Do do think his value is higher than Amari Cooper Cooper's because he is an Tonio Brown is a rock star receiver in this league. Do I think he's worth one? Yes. Absolutely. I do. Absolutely. I do we never talk about Antonio Brown. What he does in between the lines do because he's productive. Yes, we never talk about Antonio Brown. The reason we talk about Antonio Brown said which is because he's great on the field. But it's what he does outside of it. That is just sometimes nonsense. Fit over another teammate getting an accolade as juju Smith. Smith. Right. Did you get a team MVP or a co captain was most valuable was it? Most valuable player on the team thinks Tony around wanted it and threw a fit as for dick euless. I mean, I would like to see that in the raiders locker room because I'm I want to be like Zhao rule and I want to curse the raiders franchise. Giro cursed the kings the other day. So awful. You know, I finally went back and actually saw his halftime performance in Milwaukee was terrible. It really was go home. Go home. This weekend. The warriors in action. Against the Philadelphia. Seventy Sixers which is going to be very very interesting. Maybe possibly are. We looking at a finals preview. Although we always say that with the top teams in the east Delhi. We always say that. Oh is this the finals preview? Does it really matter? Are you still engaged markets in warriors basketball regular season basketball? Now a little bit left not at all right now. A lot of people all regular season is just a walk in the park. Now. Who cares everybody talking about the losses to Miami? Orlando I'll give him a pass a Miami partying in south beach the night before that Sunday their party in D way. And they came out that first quarter looking like crab. Didn't they terrible terrible points in the first half, Dwayne Wade with obviously with the one foot he weighed one last there's three years ago to the day when he was three years ago to the exact day Steph it that thirty eight footer against o'casey tan the game with I point six left. I think weird anyways. I digress. Interesting scheduled for the warriors coming up, obviously like we said tomorrow national ABC against the seventy Sixers can be a great game. And then they come home on Tuesday, Boston at Boston Celtics are such a fascinating story this year because I have not seen a player checked out more than I mean, I said this last night kyri looks like he's he carry looks like he's on the bench on Zillow looking at apartments and lofts in Manhattan. I'm done with this. And you know, what's crazy? That is not like the Celtics are ad that bad. Their fifth. We all expected them to be one like the bucks, but thirty and twenty five's not that horrid. It's just not exactly what we expected from this team with Stevens. And the way that he runs it. I expected a little bit more from Boston. But Kyrie it just looks. So check how does we've seen that face before. I've seen that face before that he makes on the bench when he was with LeBron. Yeah. It looked exactly like that photo. Right. Lebron? Side-by-side looking like it was that the loss of the blazers. The Celtics lost the place. I think it was Portland. Kyrie has not a Grivas. But it's just stone faced look just housing yards. They're exactly two thousand yard stare. And we saw the same. Look when the Cavs would lose in the finals. He's stared off the distance thinking about other things. I'm praying so much the Sacramento Kings get that eight spot in Western Conference. I wanted. I love him on a first round match up with the warriors. Lebron somehow misses the playoffs. Yeah. But. Everyone would say, oh, they missed the plans because the Brown is eighteen games. No. So so funny when the bronze sat that one Saturday was against the dabs was load management the night before did you see what happened on Twitter the night before he was in the studio with two chains is producing music, and then he wants to tell everybody on his team out distractions on the way to go. Really lebron? Why did you go to LA in the first place? You were there to make movies and build your empire. You've done a phenomenal job at doing. So far watch out. He's in playoff MO now. Go stop it. Watch alphabrain platform March second. All right. All right. That's that's what's going on this weekend. John Jones taken on. Anthony Smith for the strap and T mobile in Vegas will be watching that you've see to thirty five. All right. I appreciate your listening. We're going to wrap it up for the evening. It's really weird day around here today. I hope more details come out over the weekend in regards to Larry in the situation. I don't know if there will be. I don't know if there's going to be more video released, more statements. I don't know what the plan is. I don't know what the punishment should be. We could sit here and speculate. This is absolutely. A disturbing to say the absolute least for lack of a better word. I really don't know where else to go with this to be honest with you saw the video today, and I just got sick to my stomach, and I got sick to my stomach about the video how it was reported. How it's been talked about. This is not good. I just really hope. I really hope. This doesn't get swept under the rug and we just move on. Thank you. For listening have a good weekend. Offer came your six eighty.

"Bring in San Francisco Chronicle hall of Justice reporter Evan turnout skiing. Evans Twitter account, which is a follow. You would like to keep up on this quickly. Developing story concerning Larry Baer and the video that was posted by teams dot com at around one o'clock today of Larry Baer getting into a physical altercation with his wife Pam seemingly over a cell phone at Evan surf ski. I'll spell his last name S E R N O F F S K Y. Evan had a chance to speak with Larry Baer, not too long after the video was made public by TMZ. Evan nice enough to join us on this very busy day. Join us here on the Fitz and Brooks show, courtesy of the guest line Evan. Thank you very much for your time. Can you can you walk us through? How you got the information about the altercation between Larry Baer and his wife. Pam. How you were able to talk to Larry Baer and get the statement that you put up on your Twitter account to and do you have any new information for us? Sure, we'll gentlemen, appreciate you. Having me on. Thank you toll things. Started later in the morning run eleven o'clock. I got her when. When new and I should say, I got a call from somebody saying that it heard about this incident. And that there was apparently a video going around somebody sent it to TMZ, and they also sent it to us. So I headed here over to the scene. I had seen the video. It was obviously we've all seen it at this point. It's pretty shocking given people involved I tuck it multiple multiple witnesses down at the scene, and if you've ever been here, if anyone anyone knows this is open public plaza on Hayes and caveat, which is in the sort of upscale shopping area Hayes valley shopping area in San Francisco. There's a lot of cafes coffee shops high in retail places. There's a pizza. Kevin pizza carts and really this this altercation. The video that we've seen of the patron I should say came really at the end of what everyone said was a long verbal squabble between this couple and. Multiple multiple witnesses told me they saw Larry getting up getting down going back and forth with the wife saying I'm leaving coming back. She's saying she's saying, no stay here. When one man who was only feet away told me he said he heard Larry saying let's go to counselling today over and over again. And then all of this sort of manifested into this moment that we've all seen over and over again now teams he purchased a video from one of the witnesses paid some money. So they could have it exclusively. And that video obviously shows that disturbing physical altercation of Larry apparently trying to get his cell phone away from his wife. She goes down. She starts screaming as she screaming. It was sort of lose track of what happens in the video. But the people who were there three gentlemen, one from a retail clothing store. One from. Food car and went from a bike rental. Shop ran over separated. The two. They said they continue to get into sort of a verbal altercation, and they eventually kept them separate and they both walked off in different directions from the. So you when did you talk to Larry Baer to get the statement that you tweeted out at Evan, sir. Knob skiing. I'll just read the statement for folks who are unable to to get on Twitter. This is from Larry bears as you talked to heaven reported via Twitter, my wife, and I had an unfortunate public argument related to a family member. And she had she. Wife had an injured foot, and she fell off her chair in the course of the argument. The matter is resolved. It was a squabble over a cell phone. Obviously, it's embarrassing from the time the video came out until the time you talk to Larry Baer to get this statement how much time elapsed and how were you able to get a hold of him a seemingly so quickly. I called Larry up on his cell phone cellphone number. I left him. A message is Larry we'll go on with the story. The video is out there. I need to talk to you. He called me back. He obviously seemed sort of agitated still about the circumstances of what had happened. And he for obvious reasons was not happy that we were doing a story. So he called me back. He gave me the statement. I asked him some questions. I asked him, you know, our police involved with this. Now, he said police are not involved and said have you apologized? Apologize to your wife. You said that you know, he. The matter is resolved. He said he said, yes, he had apologized matters. He's still seem bothered, you know, pretty recently after this very public argument happened. So he he he didn't seem to me like yet had a lot of time to sort of gathering, self and compose himself he he's still seemed a little bit. He did over over everything that was going on likely not only the altercation with his wife, but then if the subsequent media attention that's now only begun to swirl down here at the plaza. All the TV news crews have since shown up a police have shown up at the scene. They actually interviewing the guy who shot the video he's giving statements to them. So this went from, you know, kind of a quiet day here in San Francisco that was first disturbed amid this Larry parents. And now it's turned into kind of another forty down here. Were there any questions that you posted Larry Baer in your conversation with him prior to this video being posted by teams were there any questions that you had that he would not answer? And if so what were those questions? Questions in general about the particulars of what the fight was over. The ambulance going by we can still hear you pretty well, we hear that in the background. Good. You know, I asked him he said, it was a family matter. I asked him. What exactly were you guys fighting about? Why was she apparently trying to take your cell phone? Why were you trying to apparently wrestling back from her so forcefully? He said he wouldn't say he used the statement. He gave me with all that all that. He could say I tried to get into some of you know, what had led up to this altercation. Why why was he trying to get his phone away? And again, it said what I've told you is what I'm gonna tell you. And that's that's it. Now have you been able to to talk to anyone in an official capacity with the giants. I mean, normally whether it's issue with with the giants, we talk to Larry Baer, but in this situation in terms of ownership or anyone else in their front office of the giants organization had anything to say, right? Well, as you know, the stories developing right now, there's only happened, you know, a couple of hours ago. So as we learned or will, certainly I imagine start hearing from giants start hearing from their media people in their spokespeople. I'm a criminal Justice reporter I cover crime here. So as far as the particulars about what this means for the giants what this means for the organization what this means for the future of the team. That's not necessarily my expertise. We certainly reached out to all those people sports people are involved in the story as well. I mean, the implications here, you know, could obviously be you know, pretty significant for the giants. Evan your time is greatly appreciated and your reporting on this unfortunate matter has been helpful to us. So a week and understand what's going on here. You know as we are in studio. But also, so we can put information out there that is that is accurate and that is factual with this with this fast developing to an ongoing story. Thank you very much for your time. And a lot of people trying to get at you. And you have more work to do is greatly. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. That is San Francisco Chronicle hall of Justice reporter, Evan, sir. Not ski. Yeah. He was on with Bob and Ron earlier today. Talking about the Larry Baer incident that happened at noon. The statement from major league baseball major league baseball is aware of the incident and just like any other situation will immediately begin to gather facts, we will have no further comment until this process is completed. Well, like I had mentioned a couple of minutes ago. I can't sit here and speculate on what's going to happen. I don't know. I do think owners and executives should be held to the same standards athletes are, and if this was an athlete that was involved in this. What are we talking about suspension? Fine. I mean, I don't know. I don't even know how to approach this one. But I do think I do think owners and executives seem to. The lesser punishment at times, I'm not saying it's going to happen for this incident. I'm just talking about track records that I've seen throughout my years. Covering sports is just it's just not the same rules. It should be. But it's not especially with the situation. Like this no matter what it was. It looks bad in nineteen seconds. No matter what it was over. No matter what happened. Who was right? Who was wrong this that and the other one thousand nine seconds of what exactly happened and it was enough to do. I think some damage to be honest with you. I have not been happy about the way. It was initially reported really careless the way it was initially reported by certain people online talking about how Larry dragged his wife that that did not happen in the video again, if you haven't seen it it's on TMZ. It's one thousand nine seconds. It is edited Larry goes to his wife. Pam reaches over grabs. The phone grabs. It. And as he's pulling the phone bag. They start to wrestle the chair tips over Pam falls down and she screaming screams are bad. They're they are. Little uneasy to listen to for sure. I do hope hams. Okay. After all of this. I mean, we really haven't talked about her too much, which is unfortunate. And she kinda got lost in conversation. Unfortunately, she did have a statement today after the events already t- again right now. I'd like to clarify the events of today. My husband, and I had an argument in public about which we were quite embarrassed took his cellphone. He wanted it back, and I did not want to give it back. I started to get up and the chair I was sitting in began to tip due to an injury as a state of foot three days ago. I lost my balance. I did not sustain an injury based on what happened today. Larry, and I always have been and still are happily married. She may have heard her for three days ago. I don't know. I mean, that's could absolutely be hundred percent true. The part where she says started to get up in the chair. I was sitting in began to tip. That's not true. Well, look at the video I don't believe that for a second because Larry pulling his arm bag is what made Pam tip over. So again, if you watch the video on TMZ, I want to know what happened before reports that they were arguing fifteen to twenty minutes before that I want to know what happened in the middle of that video. There's an edit where when Pam falls down there's a cut to Larry just walking away. And it raise a lot of questions today that I talked about just a few minutes ago. If it was unintentional which. May very well. Be. I mean, I don't think he was trying to knock over. Absolutely, not so. Yeah, unintentional. But why don't you help her up? Why didn't you help her up because that looks like crap that you didn't? Then again, just to be devil's advocate. There is little edit in the video. So maybe he didn't we just didn't see it from what TMZ showed us because it's them arguing physical altercation cutlery walking away. He turns back around with the very very end of the video. So maybe he did go back and help. I don't know. We don't know unless we were there. But what we saw nineteen seconds. Amit that.
Giants CEO apologizes after altercation with wife
"But this afternoon around noon. CEO of your San Francisco Giants Larry Baer got into a physical altercation with his wife in a public park in San Francisco. TMZ picked up the video nineteen seconds long. It's not good. Obviously, it's not good. Pam bear. Larry's wife has her phone or his phone excuse me. He goes to grab it. They get tangled up. She gets knocked to the ground. It's really what happened. I got into that. He went and grabbed the phone try to grab the phone out of a right hand. They got tangled up the chair to govern. She fell. Here's Larry bears. First statement from about two o'clock today. Regrettably today, we had a heated argument public over a family matter. We are deeply embarrassed by the situation and have resolved the issue. Here's a second statement from today. I'm truly sorry for the pain that I brought my wife children. And to the organization is not reflective of the kind of person. I that I aspire to be. But it happened, and I will never, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure that I never behave in such inappropriate manner. Again. Here's Pam bears statement. I would like to clarify the events of today. My husband, and I had an argument and public about which we are quite embarrassed. I took a cell phone. He wanted it back. I did not want to give it back. I started to get up and the chair I was sitting in began to tip due to an injury. I sustained in my foot three days ago. I lost my balance. I did not sustain any injury. Based on what happened today? They're in. I always have been and still are happily married. That's from Pam Baker. The foot thing she I I mean, I'm not saying sh-. She absolutely could have heard her foot three days ago. But that's not the reason why she fell to the ground at least from what I saw on the video. Now there it was a really weird start this entire ordeal. Because initially when it was reported. It was reported that Larry Baer dragged his wife to the ground. He did not do it. He did not drag her to the ground. Say knocked her to the ground. Okay. But it was reported to be on level ten. Like, Ray rice mad video that disturbing video. So when you see the video. Some people's initial reaction, especially the ones that I've talked to were while it's not that bad as what I I thought true, not as bad as we all I thought still pretty bad though. And you can't really eliminate. L A level when you're talking about physical altercation, and especially about altercation between a man and woman. You can't eliminate wasn't as bad. It was not level ten it's like level seven or six or five at doesn't fly with me. John's on woman heaven, I don't care if you're grabbing the grab phone paper keys. You don't do that. It looks awful. So initially it was reported to be much worse. And then people were starting to say, I it's not as bad as what? No, you're right. It's not as bad as what it was initially reported to be, but it's still pretty damn bad. And I have a problem with with certain people online talking about that. Particular part of this that it's not as bad as first reported. Well, where are we right now as a society, do do we have to see a video of a woman being hit in the face for us to go to that? For us to get to that conversation. Does she have to be hit in the face for us to say, it's a physical altercation. Is that where we're at? Because you can't do this to a woman. I'm sorry. It's very bad. Look. I don't know what's going to happen. I don't I'm just wondering where we're at. I mean, he didn't hit her. He didn't smacker. Tussled with her. And there was an altercation, and it was physical. No doubt about was a physical. You're not gonna convince me it was verbal. You know, I think it's unfair. To say, well, it's at this level, or it's not at this level. It's still a man and physical altercation with a woman wife or not. I have some questions about the video for sure. TMZ purchased the video throw it up online pretty quick, it's nineteen seconds long. But there's a coup- there's a cut in there. Edit when Larry knocks pant when Larry knocks Pam off the chair. There's a quick edit to Larry walking away, and one of the things I heard today in and actually popped into my mind when I first saw this. Why didn't Larry help his wife up? If you're not your wife to the ground. You're not good girl to the ground accident or not. You didn't help her up that looks really bad walking away. But then again, it's an edited videos of Diddy. We don't know. Did he go back after the video was over? Because every time there's a video that comes out in the news. You have to think what happened before and after because we only get a certain bit that shown to his right here. We only got one thousand nine seconds of what we know for a fact happen nineteen seconds. That's all. Multiple reports are saying that they were into an argument, fifteen minutes all the way up into that point for fifteen twenty minutes. They were arguing up to that point. So I mean, I don't know. I don't know what we're going to do with this as fans. Just a broadcasters. Just telling you how I feel and what I saw. That's all I can do how I feel and what I saw can't speculate. I'm not going to get into speculation of. Well, what goes on inside the bear house? I I don't know. I don't know. How do we know? This wasn't just a weird situation that happened. You know, you've been into an argument with your significant other. Maybe it has maybe it hasn't reached that level. It's inexcusable if it does for sure. You just don't put your hands on a woman for any reason for any goddamn reason ever. That's where that's where I'm at. Obviously, very disturbing video. Executives in sports owners and sports they should be. But they're not held to the same standard as athletes are because this if this was an athlete, white or black. We may have a more jovial tone about this. If it wasn't a giant. Because well, not jovial town. That's a really wrong thing to say. I should say the the mood around here would be a little bit lighter. Because it doesn't impact. Everybody's so much. The I retract that statement, it doesn't impact everybody's so much. So wouldn't be so down you understand what I'm saying? Is if it was an athlete, we would just be talking about it like we do everything else.

"And then we'll talk about it. We're going to be replaying. Some interviews happen on the air throughout the day today. But if you have you heard it all day today. Please excuse me for those of you who are just starting your day. Don't know what's going on. I'm going to reset the table. Just first second here. Earlier this afternoon. Giants CEO Larry Baer was involved in a physical altercation with his wife at a public park. His wife is screaming she fell to the ground. It was all captured on video it got released on TMZ round, noon round that around that. Larry Baer did have a statement that came out at two thirty. Regrettably today, we had a heated argument in public over a family matter. We are deeply embarrassed. By the situation resolved the issue. That was the first statement second statement came out around six o'clock, I'm truly sorry for the pain that I brought to my wife children into the organization. It is not reflective of the Caterpillar CIN that is fire to be. But it happened. And I will do whatever it takes to make sure that I'd never behave in such inappropriate manner again. And then Pam bear also released a statement this afternoon saying I would like to clarify the events of today. My husband, and I had an argument in public about which we are quite embarrassed. I took a cell phone. He wanted to back, and they did not want to give it back started to get up and the chair. I was sitting in began to tip due to an injury. I sustained in my foot three days ago. I lost my balance. I did not sustain any injury based on what happened today. Larry, and I always have been and still are happily married. Okay. So those are the statements from Larry Baer Pam bear regarding what happened today. I watched the video about thirty times. And when it was first reported when it was first reported headlines made it sound like Larry Baer knocked dragged his wife down smacked his wife. It was reported like Ray rice, and that video it was reported to that level. So it was level ten. We got the nineteen second video. And because he doesn't hit her people are saying, well, it's not a physical altercation. I find it disgusting and despicable. That we're at a level where a woman has to get hit for us to think that it is a physical altercation. If you watch the video he clearly reaches for the phone grabs it and they get tangled up. She gets tipped over foot injury. I don't buy that for one second. I think the first statement doesn't do Larry Baer any any favors. I honestly believe that Pam statement. It was a result of Larry's first statement because you can tell it was a panic move. Of course, would be who wouldn't be panicking that situation whether you're right or wrong. But what I saw in that video today really disturbed me. Because even though it wasn't her getting punched or hit that was still a physical altercation and for people to say, otherwise ridiculous really is. And I got disappointed with some people hearing about that. As really a semi off in a weird way. Because is that it is that where we're at? A woman has to get hit in the face on camera for us to say that this is a big problem. I don't buy that for one second. I don't know what's going to happen. I I can't even tell you what I think is going to happen to be honest with you. I do know that if this was an athlete. White or black. We would be all over this all day long. But it's because it's a CEO of the giants. It's it's a very sticky situation. And I completely understand it Anderson. A lot of people around here today. I understand a lot of people in the media today. I do. I don't think a lot of us are right. I don't think a lot of his handled this correctly today. But it's very difficult situation for this franchise. Anyone who says that this should be swept under the rug or an apology is going to get? He's he apologizes. Get over it. I'm not gonna let that go. I'm not gonna let it go. That's just me personally. In no circumstance whatsoever. This is me talking and no circumstance whatsoever. I don't care if it's a phone if it's keys a paper a Snickers bar. You do not grab a woman, especially your wife. Just don't do it. I've had I was I was married. I was married for two years, and I got a divorce two and a half years ago. And we have really bad marriage. And we would argue in public. We'd argued at target. We argued at Costco, we argued and even at my most angry moments that thought never crossed my mind snatch a phone away from her hand. I I understand I understand bad relationships. And I don't know what's going on with the family. I'm not saying that they have a hard marriage. I'm not saying I'm just telling you my personal experience with my bad relationship. Just me personally, still I can't fathom that thought. Grabbed his phone. Okay. Your wife. The other thing that really was interesting to see was after she fell. And let's say it is unintentional which are probably was. Why didn't he helper when he help or get back up? If you're really pissed off. And she fell or you knocked down. Why don't you help her get up you walked away? That was that's one of the worst parts of the video the sides of screaming. Because that was really that was really puzzling. To me. I don't even have an explanation for that. Although like every piece of video that comes out in the news. I always want to know what happened before and after because we got one thousand nine seconds that everything FOX CNN MSNBC, whatever I'm watching a piece of video comes out. Whatever I wanna see whatever we see I wanna know what happened before. And after now, it doesn't take away from the nineteen seconds. We did see that was pretty brutal. No doubt. But I wanna know what happened before there were reports saying that they were arguing for up to fifteen to twenty minutes. And I want to know what happened after because if you watch the video from TMZ, it's very interesting edit in the video as Pam falls on the ground, and she's screaming. It's almost like a wrestling match. Her foot comes up to Larry's ribcage. I don't know. What foot? She said was injured. But one of her one of her shoes was touching his case. And he walked over and then right at that point of the video cuts to Larry walking away, saying stop it. Pam stop it. Pam what happened right in between there? Why was the edited right there? Did he actually he go and help her up and then it cut to him walking away? See these are the things I want to know an export it doesn't take away from what happened at all. But I I wanna know these details to because it will give us a better understanding of exactly what happened. Absolutely brutal though. Like, I said, I don't I don't know. I don't know what's going to happen. I can't even pretend to sit here and tell you what's going to happen. I don't I know as I was discussing today with what I saw and how it was being reported. How I what I saw online from some people. Online on Twitter. A lot of people just wanted to brush his sweep this under the rug is forget about it. I think we're better than that. Aren't we? Doesn't really matter who it is it shouldn't. And again, I'm gonna mention this. If this was an athlete. You would have a different opinion. I believe when you would you have the same opinion, this is different because his Larry Baer. Shouldn't be. But is it because it sounds like it from from some of the things I've read and heard sounds like it's different. But if this was an athlete we'd be all over him all over him. I just find it disturbing because my take away from this. I find it disturbing that. We really have to see a woman get hit in the face for us to start considering this to be a problem. I know as initially reported that way, and in the video he doesn't hit her, but it's still a physical altercation and. We're going to dismiss that. I have a real problem with what went on today. Of course. I know you do to all day all night, I should say for the next hour hour. So we're going to be talking about this. I do want to replay an interview coming up and killing it was on with John Tom today. Talking about this situation. We will step aside at some point this evening. Our main Jason Jones from fan site. It's going to hop on. And we will absolutely get to some of the NFL news. But mainly we'll be talking about what's going on with Larry Baer and the video today, and that nineteen second video that really changed a lot of things today for a lot of people for different reasons through offer can't.

"Ski. The San Francisco Chronicle who we just spoke two minutes ago. It is consistent with what he got from bear minutes after the video became public via TMZ where he said, my wife, and I headed fortunate public argument related to a family member. She had an injured foot, and she fell off her chair in the course of the argument that matters resolved. It was a squabble over a cellphone, obviously, it is embarrassing. Said he apologize to his wife. So. That's where we are. Currently here at two thirty five on March. First twenty nineteen of more statements are forthcoming so news. Non public domestic incident. Wise Joel Embiid out for tomorrow night's game Saturday night special between the warriors and the Philadelphia seventy Sixers. That doesn't make the Sixers a soft touch. But it does make it a whole lot easier. Not having him around. Yeah. They just came off our road win against. Okay. See, so they they they definitely have enough talent. But Joel Embiid sitting out because he wants a thirteen year contract Philadelphia. And he told John Bell to join him. So I don't know what's going on everybody in Philadelphia trying to get that cake. Yeah. I don't like the number thirteen like just in general. So Bryce Harper goal for thirteen year deal, man. I wouldn't be I would wear number thirteen. I wouldn't wanna thirteen years. You you. I've known you for a long time. I've never known you to be a superstitious person. Really the number thirteen is problematic for you. I there's two things one is the number thirteen and I do the Bill Parcells I never pick up a penny. If it's tails, what are you picking up pennies, man, you rich? No. But it's like if I see a penny out if it's heads. I pick it up. You know, see a penny pick it up all the day. You'll have good luck that type of thing. But if it's tails, I'm Bill Parcells I'll walk right by. I'd never knew that. Yeah. That's the that. It's a weird. Okay. So full here we go. So here's the scenario there are and go along with me on this. When you have a lot of time on your hands. There are one hundred thousand pennies on the ground in front of you k and more than that. There's a million pennies on the ground million. Okay. All right. And they are all what is it? What's what's the bad luck tails up the if their tails up there all tails up you, pick them up tax? Okay. You know, what I'd do with a million stray cat will not. But I go to Home Depot get a wheel barrel. And I scoop them up with a shovel. And then I take him down to the USC tuition office and dump them on their ass and say, you're probably right now. Yeah. This is legal tender so get out the rolling papers. Yeah. You got them in college already settled down, you know, and and you can have all this. What did you take that tuition by weight here? Here you go to start shoveling them in the number thirteen. Yeah. I don't I don't like a hotel room that's thirteen. I don't want to be staying on the thirteenth floor. I mean now I I end up for thirty now here. Person. Now, like, you know, you get on a plane thirteen all done. I need. I mean, listen, I need to be reseeded thirteen h has his hardest. I first class. So you wouldn't be sitting in that. Anyway. Yeah. Now, I now I have. I wouldn't have come to you know to blows. But I I've been more than strident on my seat on the warrior plane. I don't be sitting anywhere else. And I have had to move people out of it. So okay say that I'd like to know who you moved 'cause I can tell you who you didn't move. Well, no. Here's the funny part. Like when I've, you know early early early early on west you want to sit in my seat now Eric damn periods to sit and ice. He's in the bag. I sit in the row behind him. Right. And so that's just kind of when I started whatever, and they're just talk a little bit. I got back there for more space. I think to be honest and then other players like baron. Davis will come back different guys. Troy, Murphy and different guys. But one time, and you know, he's still around, but he's been leaked for a long time one time. Todd fuller went and sat in my bra. Let me tell you something. It's two things. I didn't hear or have to deal with today versus the obvious situation. We've been talking about and second I didn't think there'd be a Todd fuller mentioned. And Todd he was a nice kid and everything like that. And I said, you know, if you wouldn't mind that's my seat. And he was nice enough to move. And then you know, if I wanted to get all brawler shouted the your longer knew that. But I didn't do but I didn't do that. But no, he just he moved. But now. No, no, no, no. I, you know, I see people sometimes like you need slot over. That's that's my side. Want to test the depths of your aversion to the number thirteen. Okay. I got to figure out a way to see if I can get you because you don't need to be afraid of just just a number. You know, you'd be afraid of thirteen. I wanna see if I could get you to just shake off Stevie wonder's sang about it, man. If you believe in things, you can't understand superstition. You know, the way it'd be like it might be you far too. Intelligent to be worried of the book, man sporting, a thirteen put it this way. The warriors had a thirteen point lead. And it dissipated went away last night. You know, if they if they had pushed it to fifteen or fourteen I would've felt a hell of a lot better. But you know, got up thirteen damn thirteen Bob. Unfortunately today, we can't have too much fun. I know I'm trying this situation. Let me you've done a really good job. I have to say that you've done it. I, you know, me you is I hate to go into areas where I am ill informed. And I mean, I hate to go into where I have no way to advance a dialogue or conversation. Those things frustrate me to to know. This is why we are gathering facts here at Cambridge six eighty s where we're talking to people like Evans of the San Francisco Chronicle who spoke to Larry Baer minutes after the video showing an incident of other physical time between Larry Baer and his wife. Pam that's why we had Evans turnoff ski on. And that's what we're passing along. These statements to you as they are coming in fast and furious statement from the San Francisco Giants from Larry and Pam bear. Came to twenty nine this afternoon to us regretted regrettably today, we headed heated argument in public over a family matter deeply embarrassed by the situation and have resolved the issue now, this is hit the national level. I mentioned to you that Jeff passan said major league baseball looking into the incident. Here's an official statement from major league baseball. This comes from our. Giants insider Henry Shulman. Major league baseball is aware of the incident and just like any other situation like this will immediately begin to gather, the facts, we will have no further comment until this process is completed so nothing earth shattering, obviously in these two statements from the giants from Larry and Pam Bayer. I think it is. It is. Noteworthy to mention that this is from Larry and Pam bear. Not the giants baseball club itself. And no shock and the the text of the major league baseball. Major league baseball statement. However, the video is out there in the video is is disturbing to say, the least, and it is up to the beholder too. Ascertain as to whether what Larry Baer said, which is my wife, and I headed unfortunate public argument related to a family member. And she had an injured foot, and she fell off her chair in the course of the argument, you hear that statement, you read that statement, and you look at the video. You be your own judge. So there we are. Tom tober? John Lund coming up, we'll finish out the Friday edition of the Fitz and Brooks show next. And our conversation with Evan. "And I am not trying to be flippant. But. When you see video a nineteen second video of Larry Baer. Giants CEO Larry Baer. A couple of hours ago. Getting into a physical altercation with his wife. Pam. When you see it, it boggles the mind TMZ. Dot com. I reporting and putting up the video that clearly shows as I replay the video again clearly shows Larry Baer standing over his wife who has a phone in her hand, he takes her to the ground. She's sitting in a chair takes her to the ground forcefully ticket the phone out of her hand. She is not happy about it. And that willingly giving up the phone. Larry Baer, eventually gets the phone. He sees that someone is taking cell phone video of him. And he then makes it very hasty exit from the scene. This took place around around noon today at at the yard. You're familiar with oracle park and its surrounding environments. You know that the yard across the the the bridge far away from AT and T park. I have not yet had a chance to hear the video. I've only seen it. But according to TMZ, Larry bears wife as she's being taken to the ground forcefully by Larry Baer. And again, you can clearly see who it is. You might not know his wife pants face. You definitely know Larry bears face, and you can see it in the video. According to TMZ when payments knocked out of the chair by Larry Baer. She is screaming. Oh my God. Help she continues to repeat according to TMZ. Oh my God. Oh my God. So again, I have not heard the video. I know people have any say that Pam is definitely not not happy about the situation. She is screaming to people. Tried to intervene in the situation as the wife was screaming for help that is reported by TMC Evan syrup Naski via his his Twitter account. The giants are releasing a statement shortly and I will again read Larry bears. First public comments about this very quickly developing story, and this again comes from at Evan Saraf Naski. They said, quote, my wife, and I had an unfortunate public argument related to a family member. And she had injured her foot, and she fell off her chair in the course of the arguments. The matter is resolved. It was a squabble over cellphone. Obviously, it is embarrassing. I just read you the quote, you look at the video and you see if those two things matchup, we are awaiting the statements from the San Francisco Giants, there will be more to come. It's going to be an interesting weekend. All right, Bob. So here we are in the land of real life. During the show. Oh, man. Rather talk about the warriors first and fourth quarter. It's the magic van this current this current topic. But there's no way around it. It is is not a good look at all. A good look at all. And a simple statements or a simple. This matter is resolved. There was a squabble over a cell phone. That's not going to fly as well. That's one hundred percent. This is going to have to be something that, you know, people at the very top of the giants get all the information use the video use the people involved use the witnesses that were there and come up with whatever resolution the the giants want to do that. So who is Larry bears, boss? Johnson because he's. There's a whole ownership group. You know? I mean, he he's kind of the the guy who runs the ownership group, but it's not his money. I mean, the the heavy duty money people. They're the ones that ultimately will probably say, hey, you know, I mean, he's like the CEO ratty, right? Well, there's one thing that folks who like to stay in the shadows one thing to definitely don't like is when you bring shame or unwanted in negative attention on their organization, the people who like to stay in the shadows tend to bristle at at that type of situation. Yeah. They already they already had they already had a money guy who had some very interesting political giving. Yeah. The guy with the most money had some very political observations in he's still there. So yeah. So yeah. But you know, listen, man, you know, your political opinions can be your political opinions. But when you are physically trying to remove a phone from the woman's hand, and she's screaming. Oh god. No God help and you can see this ain't this ain't grainy pruder film video. This is clear as day, and it is. I mean, listen and to be completely totally transparent. My shock with this. It just comes from the fact that. Mainly professionally. The slightest bit personally. I know this guy, I know they repair and again, I don't know him as a person on a day in day out basis, but we were just you know, at at fan fest. Last month. Sitting right next to him. Yeah. We did. A did a forum was talking about, you know, his his love and his passion, which is San Francisco Giants baseball. And like, I said earlier, you know, listen, you don't you don't know anybody once they get out of your line of sight. But you know, my dealings with Larry Baer, and you know, knowing of him for twenty one twenty two years. However, it's been he has always been very nice, affable fellow. And has always been, you know, it's always just Jim struck me as a gentleman a nice person and to see very clear obvious evidence that for a small amount of time in this video. He's the complete and total opposite of that is is a mind blower. So I just by my by struggle for words when it comes to. Talking about this just comes from the fact that wow. He's he's really doing that. It is. It is jarring to see quite frankly. Yeah. I mean, that's you know. When I feel bad for his wife and his family because this is just the beginning. We're talking about two hours since it happened. You know, and we were getting texted eight we came and we get all sorts of texts. But we were getting data at eight away kmby are near the end of of Gary Larry show in the in the noon hour when this when this altercation between Larry baron is his wife, Pam happen. We were getting tech saying, you're not gonna believe this. But either I just saw or someone I know just saw an altercation between Larry Baer and a woman. And we are in it. Like, I said the video is clear as day. Statement from the giants. That's what we're waiting on. I would think that it will be the next thing to to come. But this this is just the beginning. This is just the beginning. Yeah. But I think for us. It's you know, I think you gotta wait till the giants decide what what they wanna do. You know, like we've we've reported it, and that video is public domain, their sustainment, public domain. But there's nothing I mean, we can't really advance any of the commentary on it. Because we don't know what the hell all that was about or what was involved with that. But as you said, it doesn't look good in any way, shape or form. And it's you know, it's someone that we've known interacted with. And that's just never makes you feel good at all. Oh, no. So I think that's there's not, you know, I don't think we can do. We can do anything further as far as moving moving things along because it's not our job to be judged jury and executioner on things and particularly if we don't have all the info on that. But you do have a visual situation there that. Definitely is very uncomfortable to watch. So that's that's one of those one of those deals and then for the people that are running the giants. They've got a they got to assess that evaluated and decide what you know, what they wanna do about it. That'll be that'll be up to them. So. That's it's it's real life. And you know, today's real life. Everyone's on camera. Isn't that what we got into this game for Bob FitzGerald? Oh, it is. No, it is not that we got into this game to make fun of people to make wild, reckless statements and proclamations. We didn't get into this game report on on on on altercations between between high ranking people within certain sports franchises in their significant others dim. We didn't come here for this. I didn't sign up for this war now. But usually,.

"Offensively? I mean, they have died since the break. I was looking at the record. They were two games over at the break, their whoa. For in the second half of the year. They've just been really really bad. So I mean, that's evidence and Evans has to wear that for sure. And that's why he's going to be out of the gig. But. Because you said it savvy and this is bears conduit to MLB also the guy who was in charge this year that bears said, hey, Brian you now I want you on day to day operations because Larry Baer doesn't feel like he can throw out a general manager in baseball who's won three World Series title. I agree. So you had to play. So in a sense. He was a scapegoat. I think Evans did the job. I think Evans was in charge in the Milan-San deal that deals a bomb. I think Evans was in charge of longoria deal. I think that was an overwhelming you think he went ahead and say give longoria this multi multi million dollar contract without save nodding. Well, I don't I don't know who nodded what. But you know, the bottom line is the guy who wore the hat was Bobby advocate. But here, here's my mind was the general manager where I'm going with this though is I don't think Larry Baer at this point in time with all these empty seats with two and a half years. Players. So they're not gonna hire. Somebody just to go down to the guardians club and say look at this. I hired the first female general manager.
