And that was really my introduction to the fictional universes. These TV series that were very popular in those days like wagon train and bonanza. Sure. Laramie. And these were very important to me. And in fact, I learned a lot of my English. Because our family, we didn't speak English when we arrived. So I learned a lot of English. Not so much just at school, but from watching watching these westerns. And so you can imagine how some of my English went down at school. When I turn off to say howdy. And I would say, sure, rather than, yes. This is like early 1960s, Southern England, home counties. That's great. But I learned a lot from those things like Bronco and earlier series like that. You're probably way too young to have. I do know about them. And I think that's an amazing fact that that's an influence, but also that here's the thing that really blew my mind learning about you a bit before this was that if you could have had your way, let's say 15, you mentioned was an age when maybe more people from outside of England who did not look like the majority of people there were coming around you. If you could have had your way to do anything in your life, it would not have been to be a novelist, right? What was your dream? Well, around then I started to play guitar, and 15 was when I first started to write songs.

What most people don't realize draft preparation starts each May, it's truly at 11 month process. Trying to keep calm because I'm sure it is pandemonia. Is it not? Yeah, it was and we're sitting there saying there's no way he's going to get to us and at 5 Baltimore takes Rodney Stanley and we thought they were going to take tunsil and we just kind of kept he kept falling and then at 12 we're like, oh, well the saints will take him and we'll go take a defensive lineman and then he felt us and Adam gay Steve Ross Chris grew myself. We're sitting there like we can't believe this is happening and we felt great about Laramie as a person and we fell back on that preparation and it was the most incredible hour and a half we ever had. And I would imagine people that watch their favorite team every week miss out on some really good football games because they're really laser focused on this one thing and this one community rather than going, I have the best thing in the world. Let's just say it caused quite the stir and that truck is still there by the way but apparently according to this piece by molly bahaman despite the weather yesterday which was well of wintry as we have that wintry next of rain snow falling you had people coming from across colorado some even across state lines to voice their concerns. listen to about a dozen speakers Who shared their beliefs about the cove. Nineteen back seen public help. Mandates you had a state. Senators representatives and notable conservative names like dell big tree michelle malkin and kevin jenkins now many of the attendees. They had some pretty creative signs. I have to say but many of the attendees had signed saying we do not comply and fire. Tom gonzalez again. Tom gonzales over the laramie county health department or that critiqued folks. Dr aunt anthony found. She some disavowed. Fascism or compared a vaccine mandate to nazi germany. Now the protest was originally planned against the county's verified vaccine facility program that was announced alongside the county's most recent indoor mass mandate now that voluntary program. Which has been placed on hold for the immediate future allow businesses that required employees and customers to be vaccinated to ignore the basque mandate for indoor spaces. Rather we later found out that even though they jump through all the hoops in order to get that get that particular easement from the mandates that was not grandfathered in to the equation so even though they followed all of the mandates restrictions at least to my understanding while they weren't grandfathered in now the program was actually paid placed on pause following community outcry on october twenty. First just six days. After it was announced on october fifteenth. It was set to go into a fact just yesterday but once again as i mentioned on indefinite hold while the department takes in additional community feedback now. According to a county statement sent out on saturday thirty three businesses that already had their own vaccination mandates had been approved for the program but as mentioned they're going to have to now require at here now adhere to that required mask mandate now..

Ethiopia is more focused on the port in Djibouti than one in Kenya and the promised oil pipeline from south Sudan. Has been jeopardized by internal conflict and low oil prices were going to post oil economy. Do you have a lot of electricity coming into the region and that I don't think it's going to emerge as the economic driver of the port? When it was originally conceived, perhaps, but run into a lot of flak with all these issues, even that kind of oil the kind of pipeline because the oil is very sludgy. It's clean was very thick and needs to be heated, so there's a lot of technical issues. Ethiopia was very interested in getting kind of free infrastructure connection because they don't have Access to see since Eritrea became independent, But now Barbara is probably going to take over that role and some other places. Djibouti by better net, prides an alternative route to see for exports and imports for Ethiopia. Which was the big, fast moving economy in the region until the very end situation. There are other concerns about this project that go beyond it being a potential white elephant. Unlimited. Driscoll's new huge greenhouse will be in Laramie Wyoming hardly the nation's strawberry capital anticipating consumers possible objections driscoll says strawberries grown vertically without dirt or fresh air or just as tasty. Perhaps tastier than those grown on its California farms founded in twenty fourteen plenty unlimited began growing mountains of leafy Greens in a San Francisco vertical greenhouse last year. It now supplies leafy Greens to hundreds of Safeway, and Albertson's grocery stores in California. If you were to walk into its High Tech Greenhouse, you'd look up and up and up at endless walls of Kale a regular lettuce in Missoula. Mix. The company is green in more ways than one. They say, they use no GMO's and no pesticides because they don't spray for bugs plenty makes the startling claim that you don't even need to wash their produce and like other vertical farms plenty claims to use a tiny fraction of and water compared to traditional farming about one percent of land in less than five percent of water. Most vertical farms launched with Greens which grow well hydroponically and aeroponics not to mention they take less space than say tomatoes and strawberries. Moreover, local Greens are popular. They're also delicate which makes them great candidates for one of the purported benefits offered by tech indoor farms. That is if you can use controlled indoor conditions including led lights, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and recycled water to grow food on a large scale, you can put these greenhouses anywhere whether it be damned, and if you can grow strawberries in frozen Laramie Wyoming year round, you can shrink food miles the average. Plate of food travels fifteen hundred miles before it winds up on our table shrinking those food miles is good for the environment. It's also good for most produce great for grains. But now that vertical Greens have been proven, it's time to expand into other fruits and vegetables which brings us back to driscoll's the strawberry giant. It supplies a third of all strawberries in America and it's making a big investment in plenty. Ski Areas Find Seasonal Workers in Short Supply
"Thanksgiving is the traditional start of the ski season in the United States. There's usually enough snow around for resorts to open by now but ski area's needs something else. Seasonal seasonal workers who are becoming harder to find Wyoming. Public Radio's Maggie. Mullen reports David Bird with the National Ski Areas Association says for a Long Time Ski Resorts had one big incentive to attract all the workers. They needed a season pass. Those days are long gone. That's true says Lauren. Duke with steamboat Springs Ski Resort in Colorado. She says it's tough to hire with unemployment around four percent nationally. The resort industry usually trends with the economy. Here at the base of the steamboats Christie Peak Express. Lift Duke says that means resorts have to do more. I think everyone in the ski industry is always looking for ways to make their workplace the best workplace steamboat has increased base wages to twelve dollars and fifty cents an hour about a buck.
