"The summer of 2025. It's a 24 month construction timeline. And then a ramp period. So 2025 sounds like a long way away, but it's really, that's warp speed. The customers are very excited about it. They're lithium hydroxide requirements. And when I say customers, you know, four GMs, the lantis, BMW, VW, all the car companies, all their battery partners or suppliers. Really have very substantial needs for lithium hydroxide starting in 2025. And this project will be right in time for those. And absent your participation, where would the lithium hydroxide come from China? Yeah, so in the U.S., we currently produce around 15,000 tons a year of hydroxide. We're going to triple that in Tennessee by producing 30, so that'll be a total of 45. We're going to produce another 30 in Carolina that year after. There's some other projects that people are working on, albemarle is talking about producing hydroxide in the southeast. But really, we need so much more. By 2025, we expect that the U.S. will require over 600,000 tons. Multiples of what we currently produce or even could produce. And that material will principally come from China. There are other projects under development in Australia and in Europe that will eventually maybe contribute to that, but there will be big demand in Europe as well and in China. So whatever we can produce here domestically and I would say Quebec, in particular, Quebec can be a really big part of the U.S. supply chain that can all be very important. Yeah, it's fascinating to watch this unfold. And it's sort of really helpful Keith because I am curious about how this all fits together, specifically with some of the legalization we've been covering so much. "We're back and school is back and sess- baby Some some parts of the country. Nevada florida mississippi. Yeah how's it going miles. I mean just a cursory look at the headlines and their terrifying okay so just. I just searched school. Cove it this morning. Because i'm just because you know i. I saw one thing about like in so in florida for teachers just died of cove it before the school even started so it wasn't that they got it in school but i don't like four. Teachers are like are like the students are gonna find out that their teachers passed away like days before the year started. God they said that three of the four were unvaccinated or at least three of the four unvaccinated according to the school union president and they were like on summer break when they caught it and just passed away right for the school year and i was like oh my god so working service jobs to supplement their income. But who knows. Yeah but then you see another thing in florida. Four hundred students and faculty must isolate after covert exposure at school so four over four hundred students in palm beach county. They had to quarantine just two days after school began because of a corona virus ring at school and so they're like yes essentially like when school began fifty one students and staff at tested positive so in total four hundred forty have had to isolate. I said oh. My god and this school has amassed mandate but parents can opt out so oh not what the point of that mandate is then. You look at nevada. This other ones said more than eighty students were potentially exposed to cove in nineteen on the first day of class in reno nevada on monday after a parent center child to school despite both the parent and child receiving positive cova nineteen test just two days earlier. The expose students had to quarantine at home and started distance learning on tuesday. I mean so my question. The number of fucking car wrecks in the numbers in florida are worse than they were at the peak of of covert last year when everybody was doing distance learning it it just i was just talking to a friend of mine who works on software sales and was doing a demo thing for a bunch of clients and he was talking about how at the beginning of the day everyone was masked because they didn't know each other but by the end of the day he was the only person wearing a mask is like it's not like we got more vaccinated over the course of the day right just got ta eat a tired of it and be more comfortable. I guess with an. I feel like that's where we're at with just the pandemic at large were just like done tired and also just comfortable with the idea of dying cova. I think a lot of people to though how like their own like flawed anecdotal data set. That said dude. I've been doing my shit. And i've been healthy or i haven't gotten so what is announced vaccinated even better like there's a lot of. There's a lot of psychological things to that like. I think make people not necessarily that. They're like i don't fuck if i die more so like i mean based on this current plan on i've been doing great. So why the fuck should i change anything and i think that's where i think freedom. I find myself feeling like that too but then i'm like oh prior to this. I was not socializing. I was like. I was taking my safety very seriously. And it's not. It's not that. I was out in high risk situations constantly and not getting sick but like we started. Begin to you know rearrange. The order of things sort of make ourselves more comfortable with things at least for me. That's how that's happened the cdc. I think it was a director of cdc's some health official straight upset. It was like weeks ago. There were like if you're not vaccinated going to get the delta vary like that is how community ulises like it is. It's happening when not if it is a thousand times prevalent in the nasal. Cavities of people even people who are vaccinated. Who are have breakthrough infections. There's a thousand times more co bid particle. I don't know. I'm not a scientist. But i heard someone say someone at work in. This is not as lantis. Yes i'm in such chaos. We're not back to school yet. i have to just based on last year. It seems like everybody was very into the precautions. So i'm hoping that we have. We have the the right community for it but right yeah man. It's so scary. I have a couple of friends who are teachers and we just like had a big lake party. I mean not a big party. You know like eight of us came over to their house to have like a by two school years over like because we're all vacs their vacs but they were like. Yeah like we're just going to be like vectors of disease for a little bit like we're gonna get coverted like just because they're going back to in person learning and they're like they're very scared right. I don't know what force of power it has. An executive order saying not zero but it was kind of saint putting a flag in the sand saying we want fifty percent of all vehicles sold in the us by. Was it twenty thirty. It's yeah tar target of of fifty percent forty to fifty percent of all news vehicle sales to be plug in vehicles so battery electric and plug in hybrids and most reality is most of those are going to be battery electric Do you think seasonable old. It seems like i know. A lot of countries are saying one hundred percent. Yeah well the industry is moving in the direction. You know to to be ready to do that. They're launching a whole bunch of new vs over the next several years. They're converting plants that have been building gasoline cars for decades to building And building battery plants. Which is the other piece of this. Because if you're going to build you gotta have batteries and so they're investing billions of dollars in new plants to build giant lithium ion batteries So they're they're their product. Planning is all on assuming that they're you know they're targeting getting to that fifty percent or more threshold by twenty thirty But you know that's to do that to make that a realistic proposition. you know they. They need some help like on charging infrastructure for example. We need a lot more chargers if we're gonna have you know that many vs on the road and some extra purchase incentives for consumers to make it more affordable because they are still the the price gap is closing but still more more cost more costly to purchase than Gasoline vehicles at this new york. Times says this is good. For tesla bad for toyota and other companies that are not yet on the bandwagon. Does that sound right. Tesla's of course all electric all bad tesla. Tesla's all ev. You know a lot of other companies are moving in that direction yeah. Gm has said they wanna be all ev by the twenty early twenties thirties You know ford as planning to go mostly electric by that time. You know that because they sell so many hybrids such a big percentage of their sales now are hybrids You know especially some of the most popular cars like the twenty four.
