The Woke Crowd Must Be Fuming Over Atlanta Hosting the World Series
"Of course, the big World Series, I really followed much of the World Series other than I'm pretty excited about the Atlanta Braves. Considering what Major League Baseball stupidly did to the city of Atlanta and all the business owners, I saw somebody this morning on TV say that what these businesses lost in revenue by having the All-Star Game moved out of Atlanta over George's common sense election reform laws, they've more than made up for with the World Series. That I think was governor Brian Kemp on Fox and Friends this morning said that. So I mean, Stacey Abrams and the woke crowd has to be really mad at the World Series winding up in Atlanta. After the crap, they pulled on Atlanta with the

Soler Hits First True World Series Leadoff HR
"Hey, ladies and gentlemen, it is rare that I note something in the sports world as an opener. But I thought you would find this of interest even if you don't follow baseball. Or any other sport for that matter. So the World Series is taking place right now. Between the Houston Astros and the Atlanta Braves. The Atlanta Braves representing the national league Houston Astros who can not make up their mind which league they would like to play in are in the American League. Something happened last night. That never happened before in the history of baseball. I'm serious. I love that stuff. As one of the players said, there aren't many firsts left. That the batter in the in a World Series game be opening batter, hit a home run. It's happened at the bottom of the first, but not at the top of the first. There you go. I am sure. That at least 4% of you found that fascinating. Welcome to the show. Where we indeed do talk about everything in life. For whatever reason, I'm finding interesting, perhaps because I very close friend on the Atlanta Braves. Very special, very special human being, as it turns out. All right, everybody Dennis prieger here. There was a group called the anti. By the way, Sean, did you happen to hear what I announced? You missed it. He went out to get some papers for the show. So he's excused. First time in World Series history, a batter opened up the World Series with a home run. That's, say, see, he's moved. He is one of the 4%. And the guy who did it was at last series with COVID. So ah, so it's another first. He is the first guy to be out with COVID to hit a home run at the opening of a World Series.

"So. There's the other side of the coin is. I've heard the argument that hank aaron was a compiler okay that he played for so long and that's why he was able to set the home run record. Sure but here's the thing so you do it then right so somebody else. Non that so forty home runs is a lot in the season. Absolutely especially back in the fifties sixties and seventies right so bird. He had one two three four five six seven eight days in eight seasons with forty or more home runs. Yeah that is unheard of. It's no it's insane like bonds he had he had nope. I remember what i was like. I had been like diner. Ten eight hundred ten. I remember seeing that ken. Griffey hit forty five home runs in one season. I was blown out of my mind. Oh yeah forty. Five home runs that so many. Yeah that was. An average year. For hank. Aaron yet they. That's that's such a big deal. That's so cool right and over half of his career so if you break it down the the amount of seasons i think he went thirty home runs was like seventeen and he had twenty or more and twenty or twenty twenty this season. It's easier to count backwards. He had three seasons where he didn't hit. Twenty home runs. okay. That's what i thought. Yeah insanity yeah dude was dominant and he continues to be at the top of all these lists so yes he does and this. I feel like somebody hit damning. Dominy home runs still hit three or five. You're more than just a power hitter. You're you're amazing. Amazing i say the word transcended but transcended talent right and he was. He bounced between right field and first base so he was also capable at as a defender and won three gold gloves. So it's not all about as plate appearances like the dude was overall contributor on every every angle on those and those are offense first positions. Yeah which obviously you got one of the greatest of all time exactly. I'm just saying he's capable. He's a ballplayer. Yeah you know he may be have been he may could have extended his career if the d. h. was around. He moved to the al. He i mean he was forty two and he's retired forty two hundred you know if if he'd had in the american league might have extending his career another two years so maybe i don't know for sure it's the only played eighty five games last year but next level man next level next level and he passed away really. Yeah two thousand twenty one january twenty second was this year. Yeah i think that interview was a replay on dan patrick town because he had him on and he was talking to..

"Made it. Yeah we did the flint. Yeah okay if there is an honorable mention to be chipper jones and would say greg maddux perfect. Yeah so we almost over the lab. Let's get into chipper. Jones deal chipper jones. Is the man right. He was the dude. We all loved him in member when they moved him from third base to left field. We all threw a fit. I did yeah everybody did. There's this tale that we all know if you grew up watching the braves in the nineties about chipper jones. Not being able to have the fingers of his batting gloves sticking out of his back pocket so baseball pants right okay. This legendary wives tale going around. And it's been going around since i was a kid. I don't know where it got started. It's probably completely unfounded. But here's how the story goes okay and it. It's still stuck with me so everybody loved the fingers out of the back pockets for whatever reason it was like it was like griffey's backward hat like he was the thing that you knew about when you do it all and for everybody like you love the gloves sticking out of the back pocket and the way if you have the right internal pockets you can do it if you have the extra pocket like most literally exactly yet stick them all the way down but if you have the internal pocket sticks just so that the velcro barely inside the almost the entire blow exactly. Yes so cool is cool and it started with chipper jones. That's one of the things that happened so anyway there's this there's a story going around since i was ten. Whatever that he got find. The there was a rule there was he got a warning said. Kay you can't do that anymore. Kinda like with ben's over in the black cleats okay. Like knock it off. And he was like no so he says so. It was either the club or it was. Mlb somebody came out with melby. Yeah with some. This is again legend. Somebody i guess out with a fine. They're like here five hundred dollar fine or whatever every time you play game with your finger sticking out of your gloves sticking out of your back back pockets. So he just walked in before every game put cash on the table or he wrote a check on a day on the guys and he was just like because they didn't have automatic withdrawal back then just handed it over. Thank you very much. I'm going to go do my thing. Now that's funny. I have not actually heard that story. I have you know. It's it's one of those things. I heard one time. I never been able to let go of it. That's awesome probably is one of those things i want to believe right. That is no founding owner. Let's give them a call here. We're close is that a long distance call. No we might have to assume. Mr jones is baseball together. Do you accept her. You receiving baseball together hall of famer. "Welcome back baseball family. Thanks for taking a quick break with us and sticking around we are going to jump back into our atlanta. Braves mount rushmore. We've got at least two names to come. We don't know where we'll overlap for the next ones we already had one overlap. This time. it's very common for us. I'm sure we'll overlap. I mean we'll save it for the last lecture galop on that one because it's pretty common consensus an going to see what it is. We're all suming. That might be my next one. Actually should we save it because we know what's going to happen. Well let's say yeah. Okay all right all right. You want to go next okay. All right so my next one is actually dale murphy Yeah it's not that one for me. Del murphy is the best player to never make the hall of fame. Okay that You know someday he might make with the culture club. Yep the ever that. I don't remember the name is what we call him a culture. We do so del murphy. The two time all star back to back all star in thousand nine hundred nine hundred eighty-three sorry not all star and ep. A big deal now. Not all sir back every piece but seven time all star four time silver slugger five time gold glove and i feel like that's a really big deal that he's not in the hall of fame he had. He had a good peek from eight hundred. Eighty seven where he was off starts to like. I said seven eight seasons. Yeah the though here brig. I think why. He didn't get into the hall of fame because he's a lifetime to sixty five hitter. Yeah that's probably. Why three ninety eight. Three hundred ninety eight home runs the over the course of eighteen year. Career dab batting averages low for the era. Yeah but here's the thing though. Kate outfielder first baseman. Those are offense first positions. Yeah but del murphy was a catcher. Yeah he was. He's he spent a first two years of his career i wouldn't say majority but he spent he came up as a catcher kit which is a defense. I position extremely very much. Yes you know the until recently. And that's only because those guys are anomalies. Something's going on now. Like buster posey's billick was like the really first big power hitting catcher which is funny. 'cause he's not that big and he's not that yes has yeah. I feel like if you walk down the streets of posing an average job. They would look right. But if you see gary sanchez your debts and cracking huge dude. he's huge. yeah. But i i like having come up as a catcher. That offense was not necessarily something that they focused on with him to sixty five catcher as get decent so maybe send him into law famous catcher. Anyway no the that hastert in and spend time plate but two time. Mvp though i like that alone is enough. Is it not as like obviously unanimous. Like but he could he could have gotten seventy six percent of the votes. Should've gotten seventy six percent of the votes ran. I'm inclined to agree with you. But again i grew up when he was playing. And yeah you know. We got to see him all the time and he was a big deal in utah for some reason. I don't actually know why. Because he from their. Where's he from..

"Game shutouts. Hundred one hundred pitches. Oh my word. Nobody else has ever thrown more than seven because he would get out there and he said himself that his approach was not to get guys to miss. Yeah but to get throw a good enough pitch that they would swing but a nap. Bad enough Squared up yet. So he he threw a lot of ground ball outs totaling nor yellow. Ground ball outs. And i feel like that's part of the reason he got so many wins. The braves had so well because crash davis says throw more ground balls. Strikeouts a fascist. Yeah that's that's a real thing because if you've got a strikeout pitcher up there. He's not going to get the run support that he wants. Because everybody's fall asleep the field. Yeah that's that's not a good thing for anybody not it's diocese mon everybody down. It's an entertaining. It's fun it's for us fifteen case but if you're standing on the field you're board would comes time to hit. You're not mentally acute and ready to go so that has a lot to do. I think with his success as well as everybody around him was involved in the game. He's gonna everybody involved. They're ready to go mentally and physically when it came time for them to hit a big. That's a big deal. Yeah yeah that's good. That's factor stuff. Big time yeah. I love that. Yeah that's awesome. So greg maddux as my number two number two number two on my list is warren span actually warren span another pitcher so we met three pitchers now some great pictures out of atlanta mattel the braves because he was milwaukee right. Yeah yeah milwaukee. So he started his career. Nineteen forty two and then took three years off to go to war very common if not almost universal right and then what he ended up doing was Playing for another twenty years in the same franchise so he's a some time bouncing around a little bit at the end of his career. Needle seven games here. Four games there that kind of thing but he played all of the rest of his games in the braves organization for twenty years his career war. You're ready for this career. War one hundred point one career war as pretty good. Yeah hall of famers will cy young award winner three time. Era title part of the one thousand nine hundred eighty seven world series squad and now for my favorite statistic..

"Home run champion with seven hundred and fifty five career. Home runs past. The babe yet was a huge deal at time. And this is the thing is the hank. Aaron is not only home run hero. He was a baseball hero. And a civil rights. Hero rights hero. It's transcends so much it goes beyond because for him to go through what he went through. Watch chasing the babe. Yeah you know like racially socially everything like he's a hero he is. He is legitimate sports and otherwise hero. Yes and i think it's outstanding. I don't know if hank aaron gets enough credit. He doesn't and that's the problem so we've talked about this before but one of my favorite moments in all of baseball history is when he beat debate and got seven fifteen in atlanta. It was april. Eight thousand nine hundred seventy four. So we're in. The deep deep south and a black man is getting a standing ovation from this enormous crowd. Thousands and thousands of people and and we're just not that far removed from the strife and all the violence things on so i think that is it is really is one of my favorite moments all baseball history and southern that. I think it was a big deal to show solidarity. Inclusion and appreciation was the two guys who came out of the crowd. Like it's stupid dull. I don't sure. I don't condone coming out. Crowd ever for anything at all. These two guys who came out of the crowd to congratulate him. Yeah i remember watching a documentary and a lot of people were saying like this is going to go bad. This is not going to end. Well yeah and they came. They put him on the back and he said i think watch interview with them from a few years ago. He said they were great. Guys one of them was. Dr really are something. Like if i'm remembering right that's cool. And it was like that. He was cool. I really should their hand on the around. The basis writing shift and that that at the time was a huge deal that that happened did employees. And i feel like. that's that clip. Shown all the time. But i don't like the context is truly appreciate. It should be because that's a big deal to really big huge so huge. Okay so i've got to get into some more statistics over because this it gets even better for me all right now. His career war is one forty. Three point one That puts him seventh. All time will time in the history of baseball. He's number seven all time in war. Let that sink in for a minute. And i'm gonna hit you with another one career at bats. Twelve thousand three hundred sixty four second all-time at bats maybe should.

Eighty seven where he was all sorts of like i said seven seasons. Yeah the though here brig. I think why he didn't get into the hall of fame is because he's a lifetime to sixty five hitter. Yeah j. that's probably why three ninety eight three hundred ninety eight home runs of the over the course of eighteen year career dab batting averages low for the era. Yeah but Here's the thing though. Kate outfielder first baseman. Those are offense first positions. Yeah but del murphy was a catcher yet he was he's he spent them First two years of his career. Now i wouldn't say majority but he spent he came up as a catcher kit which is a defense position. Extremely very much. Yes you know the until recently. And that's only because those guys are anomalies. Something's going you know. Yeah like buster. Posey's billick was like the really first big power hitting catcher which is funny. 'cause it's not that big and he's not that yes has yeah. I feel like if you walk down the street of buster posey and average job. They would look right. But if you see gary sanchez you like. That's and cracking huge dude. he's huge. Yeah you know. But but i i like having come up as a catcher..

"Today we're going to go through our our mount another one of our mount. Rushmore is. we're gonna talk about the atlanta braves today. Now this is like. I've always known the braves had a long history right and you a little bit about the boston braves. Sure just the fact that the name existed I knew about the milwaukee brewers mostly just the fact that they existed hank aaron played milwaukee little room yeah and then obviously atlanta braves. Most people in the united states grew up. Tbs so we a lot of up watching the braves in the nineties especially that team. That was so good that only unfortunately won one world series title correct so so very familiar with the braves. I think said before like i could. I could have given you that that line top the bottom one three nine four of the five pitching staff do Let's see here. John smoltz tom. Glavin greg. maddux steve avery. Can't i don't know the fifth round led. No but i'm so impressed For bianchi keeping magee probably was. Isn't that documentary spirit. That's right very good. Talk a little bit about the braves before we get started here. Bring so. This is an old old franchise legacy idea. I realized this been around for one hundred forty six seasons so in four years. They're gonna hit their hundred fifty. Let's second ceska centennial. I think that s on. That's a long time the big word thank you. Maybe the biggest i know. Let's be honest. So overall record five hundred one. Winning percentage ten thousand seven hundred and thirty five wins ten thousand six hundred eighty eight losses. Twenty thousand games as a whole lot. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you've been around for almost one hundred fifty years. Ten twenty thousand games is very real. This is that's i'm over thirty thousand. It's over twenty one thousand. Yes the math. Yeah we love math with love. Michelle resort good at it especially on the fly. Yeah you're right twenty. So so we've got twenty six playoff appearances. Seventeen minutes three world series. Titles that feels a little bit to me like underachieving but given the yankees. And they're twenty six and their vast these areas. Well twenty seven. I apologize was based off the conversation we had yesterday. But so i appreciate that. But winning managers bobby cox the five fifty seven. Winning percentage twenty one thousand one hundred forty nine wins one thousand seven hundred and nine losses yet. And it's funny because you look at managers like you think some of the best ones they're gonna he's got to have a six hundred. Winning percentage five is really high. That is really high in very good and for him to only have one world series title in the time with atlanta is a big deal. Of course it is underachieving but at the same time.

"Wrong for baseball and i hate to say that because it is not what we want to teach our children but it is good for baseball. So it's catch twenty two. I don't know how to feel the end. Yeah and that's the thing. I like seeing it when it's just me sitting watching a game like when it happens on my. Yeah here we go here. We i'm like. Let's maybe change the channel because this is not what i wanted to. Yes and it's hard. It's hard so baseball family were with you. We feel exactly the same way. And i don't know if you're feeling the same way. Let us know. Jump in the mail. Bag and baseball together dot com. And tell us how. Do you feel about base Bench clearing brawls and baseball fights base brawling eilly solved holidaysburg. That's what i was gonna say. But yeah base brawling throwing it batters and and bryce harper hat or helmet. Going the wrong way and all that stuff like we wanna know. How do you feel if you didn't get reverence. Let us know. But before we go before i want to. I want to talk about one more thing before we go. Kay we've gotta talk about the all star game logo which has been revealed now that they've moved to colorado. They're going gonna go play in denver and The the new all star game logo has been revealed in it. how you feel about the visuals. At least the visuals the visual i think i think it's pretty cool I i like the mountain version of the rockies logo like i liked the way they incorporate that honestly purple is not my color okay. I've never liked that aspect of the rockies But i kind of get having lived in the rockies not in colorado but the way that they incorporated with the silver and the grey mountains on the bottom. I think it looks sharp. I think it's nice and clean Pretty much what they did is they took the regular all star logo from atlanta Took away the stadium aspects of that logo and then through mountains on it and autumn. The bottom two points the star. Yeah yeah yeah. I feel like. That's that's what they did with that they just like In a pinch take it replaced. Mountains okay there. We got it now. Well what they did was. They went with the simplest solution right. They went with the easy answer. And i think they absolutely nailed it. I mean i looked at that. And i was like. Yeah that tells the whole story if you can take an icon logo like bat if you can take the one color or two colors. And if you can use strategically cut out lines and things like that until the entire story. That's all it takes man. All they did was purple with the star and then they put some jagged rocky mountain looking logo on the bottom like the colorado rockies do with their alternate logo Bought a being you get the entire story. I was really excited about it..

"I am brad as per usual. I'm joined to my right by our guy brig. Hey baseball family was shaking. We got we got a whole lot a whole lot of big stuff to get into this week. Lots of news. And then we're like. I said we're going to get into our atlanta braves. Milwaukee braves boston braves whatever. However you wanna comments calling the braves mount rushmore to finish things up today. The let's start with this first. We had madison bumgarner. No hit the braves but it's an unofficial no hitter because it was on the second game of a doubleheader as we know and we'll be adapted the seven inning doubleheader this year. Right now brig. Got a question for you about this. K should it. Should it count as an official. No hitter yup. Your thoughts next question. Yeah it should. I am with you hold on it. I have a follow up question. Okay why is this question because apparently it is. I don't know why because here's the thing. Here's the thing. I where you ready. Yeah there are. I guess a trifecta of questions that we should ask to qualify to qualify. This are you ready yes. I'm ready in now. I know what you're say was it and was it an official game first off. Yup an official game okay. Was he awarded a complete game. Yup pitching seven innings came and did the braves record a hit. Nope okay there we go. That's a no hitter. That's an official. No hitter folks madison bumgarner. He finally got it. He got over the hump and he got himself a no hitter. There we go there. You have it not just struggling but suffering. I mean it's been not great. Yes i mean. There were times when he was in san francisco where he got close but he couldn't get over the hump that's right. Not that's what i'm saying is he's finally able to do it. Because regardless of its seven or nine innings you get to the sixth or seventh inning of a shortened game teams are going to be a little more motivated get hits just like they are in the eighth or ninth inning like kate. We need baserunners. Just get on base right well but even regular game even eating in nine years you get to six..

"I mean he's the smartest he's. He has the the intangibles but I'm talking about on the field. Deep in the playoffs they're playing in Chicago. It's six degrees outside does he have the physical capability to make the throws when he has to? That's my question marks and we're GONNA see we're going to see what happens. I mean Belichick had this team the saint quarterback virtually single racks in Tampa in he added will bring to the Super Bowl last year. So I, do think that they are every bit as good as they were last year or Brady was last year with the better team around him. The was the Tom. Brady. That through a pick six out of his own. In the first round a home on a Saturday on to go into a bunch of lawn chairs to. A release. The kill Harry's laundry analyst who that is. Julian Edelman Yeah. Good. But I mean is that the only one he had? I mean, if you're the go, do you need like six Randy mosses on the field like these guys are serviceable receivers? Cam. Newton's look good with them over all. I just I think I think he's absolved of all blame from last season in New England and I think he he held a lot of it quite honestly. Yeah, he did know Dell and look he deserves criticism this year with some says he made and he said some bad fixes Sherman down and away from down I'm not defending that but this team. This team overall is better than the team had seen Mash. Is that no, there's no question they're much better. Yeah. But he's also he's also a year older and so when I, look at Tampa not to talk about them forever their Defense Amazing Special Teams, good coaching, Good Enough Defensive Coaching, brilliant offensive line, solid running game solid. Where's your question mark? It's your quarterback. It's got to be your quarterback because if he was Tom Brady from two years ago go ahead and give him the Super Bowl rings because they're going to win it. I I don't know. He's GonNa have seen that look at this week one and that loss the saints I would say, yeah, you're right. But. This is a totally different teams and a team that lost the saints and we we'll see how it goes for them. I'm curious I. Hope I'm wrong because I'd like to see him succeed I. WanNa see you know New England and Tampa in the Super Bowl. Off would be awesome God. The rating for the game eastern the roof, the ratings will be through the roof and people would still be so pissed because people got so tired of seeing Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in the super bowl a wouldn't it wouldn't it be perfect irony that they divorce and still end up in the damn super lease WanNa know take mean that be tremendous Oh tastic It would be fantastic Tampa Bay would probably crush them just because of the talent on both sides of the ball but dino have bad bill belichick won't that. Game. All. They would win an all our money goes New England nagging. Oh, that would be fantastic to see our just like play the regular season alone the super bowl but I don't know that's going to happen Abba looked ahead. To next your schedule, an extra will probably be the last year although I don't know. I hear rumblings of Brady starting to WANNA play till he's forty eight now and I'm just like. Just. Really. Now. Forty. Five. Forty five. Thousand Dignity Forty three hundred, forty, three now, and he signed he signed a two year deal. So this year next year. And then he made I guess I missed zooming. He would do maybe one more one year deal. I just don't know I don't know. But. I think if next year play next year like he is this year then. Find later. Dali forty five for sure laws digitally. So the other the other game tonight was the chiefs and the bills the chiefs outlasted bills twenty six to seventeen This was a lower scoring game It was in the rain in Buffalo started at the very weird time of five. PM. Eastern. Four PM Central and. I was at work and I forgot about the game and then I looked down on. The game is on. This is so weird anyway the chiefs role, the chiefs you know it was close for little while with the chiefs pulled away twenty, three, ten buffalo got a late touchdown to kind of make it interesting. But the chiefs where the far better team the chiefs double the bills in yardage. The chiefs ran the ball down their throats two hundred and forty five total yards on the ground climate which lehrer. Got Word that they got Levian Bell and he answered with to carries one, hundred, sixty, one yards a six point two. Average per carry just a fantastic game from your man from Lsu look allers freak aside it. When grasped him the kid can do it can be anywhere on the field. He avoid any position on offense that you wanted to play. is got all tools of a special player and he is going to be a great player Nestle for years to come if he can stay healthy. The only reason I say that because he his frame, his size, you do worry about him staying healthy. has been great a hundred, sixty, one yards around today was. Unbelievable game for him. Especially, in those conditions, they played raining whole game follow slippery feeling slippery and it was a lot of Ryan's but. Thing here's the bills defense could not stop the run at all. Your the bills I'm starting to have some concerns about, and I still think there are solid football team but I think they are what we thought. They were not to quote the late. Great Ning. Green. We thought they were a good nine and seven ten and sixteen a wildcard team pretty much what they were last year maybe a little better and we all got infatuated with The Start Josh. Allen he came back down to Earth tonight in a big way only one, hundred, twenty, two yards passing two touchdowns. One pick. Twenty seven attempts fourteen completions but this is more of of who he is. He still going to have these games where he breaks out and gives you five touchdowns but he's also going to be this He turns the ball over still from time to time when it's just the worst possible time and for patent mahomes really inefficient game. This is the other side of the chiefs that really scares you. Yes they can torch you forty eight to forty one, but they can also go out and Pat Mahomes can do twenty, one, twenty, six to twenty, five, two touchdowns. and run they run the ball down your throat for two, forty five and all the sudden. They look like the Baltimore Ravens and you're like, wait a minute I, thought that was a that was an air assault. And it's and now you're talking about you've added Lake on bell who for some for some reason everyone thinks is washed up. Why do you think that he's not forty years old? He still is he going to be what he wasn't Pittsburgh? No but can he not be a very important weapon yet another weapon for Pat Mahomes of course, he can. Right. Now, they they add bell in that really is GonNa make aware even more dangerous. Oh Yeah Absolutely because Belkin Belkin, BELKIN LINEUP IT RECEIVER He's great catching passes out of the Backfield I. if nothing else he can be a decoy this team this team is just a massive headache and to defend rather. Yeah. Now, the the one thing I would say on Josh, Allen is listed. Let's not forget. He is still developing. He's only your three. this kid has got all the potential world. He got the strongest army seen long gone. And I don't know show phenomenal job in Buffalo. Brochure for straight term it is. You know what I mean like. He's good but I put. Josh Allen. Would Bill, Belichick.

"Somebody rathers Dallas or somebody else who will get paid racy. We seen what that is going to be and I do want to see how he balances back from this injury. This is very series and so play in that position I I do WanNa see bounces back the ought to be interesting to see So anyway to wrap up this Pittsburgh game. Pittsburgh's amazing. They really are I can't wait to see them play Tennessee next week that east. Tennessee next week they hennessy next week they've got Kansas City going up and few weeks right but the unbelievable Tennessee Emmy you know. Now. I'm telling Tennessee. Now, I'm having till you about Tennessee because once again, I was wrong with a AC-. It took over time but they did beat Houston which we'll get to that game right now that was a good game. I mean, the titans they outlasted Houston forty, two, thirty, six in overtime. When you look at the quarterbacks, they both played their butts off in this game. To Sean Twenty Eight, Thirty, seven, three, thirty, five, four, touchdowns, Ten hill thirty or forty, one, three, sixty, four, four touchdowns, the one pick But man, this was a quarterback duel and I don't know that you ever would have said that before this season. Now I I'll. You wouldn't have said that first four games in the season no. But this, this is a different Houston team and not going to Bill Bonner thing like that I'm just pointing Al this offense clicking now and you're seeing more of the offense you used to see in the last four years since Watson got they're they're getting better every week you're getting branding folks involved he's becoming clear favourite and you still got Randall Cobb and you've got a fuller. so He's three elite receivers there that are all capable of A. Big Yard. Randall Cobb more of a slot receiver but he he does a good job of slot and their running game still needs work, but he's able to use laws it in a way that gets them what they need their efficient So hats off to Romeo Grenell for being able to get them a couple of wins first couple weeks one win he he could win yesterday but still yesterday even off if you're Houston, you gotta feel like that's win. Against that team. To feel good about it. Yeah. Because this is not the same Tennessee titans that have been in your division for the last five plus years that that you could beat usually once or twice a year easy So it was impressive that they hung in there and while there's no such thing as moral victories, this was closed because it was a game they came back and they could have won the game on the other. Side of the coin, the Tennessee Titans, another win undefeated They look good and I don't really know that they have any weaknesses because they're only weakness before in my opinion was Ryan Tannehill and he's playing like a Rockstar. Yeah. No, he is. Ryan. Tannehill looks like one of the best quarterbacks in league clearly and Yes. Never at I can't even him sane of the straight base coming up Miami Maga he was horrible in. MIAMI. I mean, if y'all didn't see him play Miami he was garbage speaking of that I. Think we have the the indictment for Adam gays and if he ever coaches in this league again, that franchise should cease to exist I mean, this guy is a quarterback killer. Yeah. No, he is and. I don't guess. The jets might go and sixteen the. This is a bad. The Waking Oh they got smacked by Miami which I mean course Miami Smack San, Francisco, the week four. So don't look now but the Miami Dolphins or three and three and better than the New England patriots in the win column This is twenty twenty. What what are you GonNa do right now I know. It's unbelievable. So next week, Pittsburgh Pittsburgh and and Tennessee can be a fantastic game. We'll get into that a little bit Thursday when we go over a week seven previews. All right gain of the week for me that well I say game way began to surprise me this week was Atlanta. Getting a big win forty, two, twenty, three over the findings of your the Vike really stretching head wondering. What in the world is going on you got winless. Atlanta coming into. MINNESOTA. Matt Ryan put though starting her forty three, hundred seventy one yards and four touchdowns Kirk cousins twenty four for thirty, six, three, hundred, forty, three, yards, three touchdowns three interceptions is average at best and Matt Ryan looks like an All star and they are winless on the. Yeah this is this is the Falcons that I knew were there somewhere An. Even in their losses in these shoes leads that they blew. They still showed, of course, the ability to score and grab a lead I just think they had given up on playing for Dan. Quinn, quite honestly and this I mean this is a team that is probably the most dangerous one in five team in history. Yeah. No they that look. I've never doubted the offense for a second the offense we've always known what kind of star power they have. I am out Ron still very good quarterback in this league, even his age. So yeah, it it could be Dan win probably logger probably is Dan Gwyn So we'll see what they do with Brahim more I I don't know I mean. You look at what the Texans were doing with. Romeo. Ranil, so I don't know how good cornell is I don't know how good regimes going to be, and what is going to take a few weeks to iron and out that. Oh for sure and it just just the change alone brings an you know a little bit of optimism and a new attitude for the upcoming week. So you know that's what they do. the teams typically a lot of times can win this game after the coaches fired midseason in it's I. Don't know it's just kind of an energy thing I suppose Arthur Blank said eleven. Oh, did you hear about that? Someone. Ask Him if he would consider him for the new head coach and he goes up, they go eleven. Oh. Honest. Brutal honesty me but it it is. Totally. Totally, a slide at regime so. You. Know I don't know how he takes that but maybe he takes his challenge ince's Hey Willis go eleven and now so it would happen hell no but you know. Yeah I mean I there are no there's no way that seems can do their defense wounds not that good but offense is GonNa keep game the offense going to be competitive and is going to keep them competing Ernie's in just about any gaining play. Moving over to New England our this in this was the shocker the week for me and know you thought the Minnesota game was a shocker. This was an absolute shocker. I did tell you last show that I would not put money on that line of New England by nine and a half now. I wasn't imagining Denver Win, the game I thought Denver may lose it by six seven point somewhere in there six to seven they won the game I mean this this was a terrible performance from the Patriots. and. Cam Newton was pretty bad. It come to think of it. Both these quarterbacks were absolutely terrible. Drew Lock Ten for twenty, four, hundred, eighty, nine yards two interceptions. Don't ask me why drew lock is still their quarterback but he is. Cam Seventeen of twenty, five, one, fifty, seven, no touchdowns, two interceptions, I, mean this is just a dreadful quarterback game. So I I don't know if this is indictment on New England I I'm not worried about them yet. They've had a couple of weeks of unusual circumstances and they have practices most they normally would they still have the best coach in history of the game on the sidelines so I'm not worried about the Patriots right now don't take a lot of stock in this game in a final It was not a game for Cam Newton by any stretch from nation but I do expect them to be else back and I think we'll be fine. The thing.

"Go seven games be fun. Absolutely so we'll see how it goes. Let's move on into the NFL and we might as well start with the most recent I. Really, want to cover this writing I don't know man I mean this Dallas team is terra garbage. They're so bad. I don't even know where to begin I can't even really put my finger on I. Mean it's the obvious. Is that right? The defense is terrorism The defense couldn't stop in nosebleed. I could've played running back tonight and ran through those holes in that defense. I mean they just they were everywhere cuyler Mary did whatever he wanted to do. He was running around. He had some really good runs he he was throwing the ball where he wanted to. He had wide open receivers This defense is not getting any better they're not, but they got far more problem than just a defense and it look let's be honest the they had these from redact to this didn't just because DAX injured. This is the same team. Of You got water super shopping pass after pass pass. Zeke Elliott after six weeks still can't hold onto the football for some inexplicable reason. Yes. Something's going on with him in mental. Yeah. I just don't see how you know. He's already what would the I fumbled tonight he had already exceeded his season. Yeah. previous season total of lost fumbles, and then he goes out and fumbles again the very next possession. And and at that point he's you know he's hitting himself on the side of the helmet and you know he's on an and I don't know I've given McCarthy pass every week tissue defended him and said you know I don't know it's you think McCarthy's good is just the only working with roster he didn't really have much to do with no You there's no excuse for Zeke to be from when the ball like this and have these issues that is coaching because if you can't coach Z on hold onto the football something simple holding on the football, then you can't coach and he's not doing a good job coaching, their six games and now two and four and you're endanger losing locker room right now on your year one. Your. It's a bad spot for McCarthy to be in and. I I don't know like you said this goes so far beyond this defense and it does show that Dak Prescott was really good at covering up a lot of these flaws. But you know even with him, they will losing. So you know it's It's just not a good situation and I don't really know. What Jerry should do I. Mean. You can't fire brand new coach six games into a five year deal. you've lost your quarterback, and of course, this is always historian. Dallas there's always an scully's. So this season doesn't matter Dak Prescott is down they can lose the next eleven games. It won't be anybody's fault other than up Dak hadn't fortunate accident here say that but it's Jerry and. Jason Garrett never had a team that was this bad. And so you could always, if you could always defend Jason Gear in the sense that seven and nine eight they were right there. This team had right there this team far away. So at the end of the year if there's no improvement, this team is still this far away from five hundred record you still you you really might have looked at. I just can't envision a world where. Jerry. Would fire him after one season especially with losing their franchise quarterback. Early in the season I do see your point and I think a rationally thinking person that say they've say they finished four and twelve But I don't think that that would happen with Jerry and yes to your point with Garrett they never he never had a losing season in which his franchise quarterback was healthy the whole season. Now you can say he was Mr j eight nates and Garrett but eight and eight is a lot better than two dollar in and what is looking like here I. Mean. you know I don't know the the whole excuse that you can just fall back on. This is a terrible division. We can just get to seven and nine or eight nate will this team is nowhere now going to be anywhere near seven minor a note. And even though Philadelphia's record does not reflect at Philadelphia's much better team than this cowboys team right now I mean if you think the cowboys could hang or mount any kind of comeback against the Baltimore. The Way Philadelphia did yesterday in your out of your mind and other not and look Dallas schedule that new many favorites Look they got Washington next week in Washington that game no longer looks like the must mega of a Gimme. I mean the since there there there is no give Meson this eligible for a team this bad you look at Arizona and you think even I thought going in okay. This is going to be a pretty evenly matched game. Of course, they don't have DAX. So that's why I may give the edge to Arizona by a field goal there is only kick their ass. Competitive, and of course, there were the two fumbles by Zeke that that lead to fourteen points. But take those fourteen points off the board. They still beat him soundly and you've got wide receivers open missing passes all over the field. They and these are veteran model she responded seedy. You can't have. No it can't and and look I know this offense of has been pummeled with injuries you know a retirement, but still I mean drew still at the end of the day. There are a lot of other teams that have patchworked offensive lines look at what Carson? Wentz has to work with absolutely nothing you think Carson Winston wouldn't take this patched up offensive line with those receivers and Zeke Elliott may be would burn the League would. So I'm really just it over it as a cowboys fan I just. It is what it is. It is what it is. Team is a disaster they've been a disaster they're going to remain a disaster ensure when dad comes back. If this keeps up, they'll gladly pay him forty, five million and he'll get him to maybe six, ten, seven and nine every year and that's it. Yeah. I'm really interested to see what they're going to attack a really don't know if they're going to get equity wants a don't and the injury didn't help things I think you're gonNA franchise again and after that I have no idea what direction they go in at quarterback or coach for them. It couldn't be a worst case scenario all of the optimism going into the season with McCarthy with a new staff of course. Question marks still with Dak, as far as long term, but he did get the the franchise tag signed well before the season so. This is just worse than anyone could have imagined and and it's not that they're losing close games because they're not quite buttoned up. You know you look at the first game of the season when they play the rams that was a close game that they weren't quite buttoned up for. Okay. So that's acceptable but it's just been an absolute after getting worse every week ever since then. It is and I don't right now I'm not blaming Dalton as much as you might think because Dalton negative free season he's had no time with the offense modest last week. So I'm not putting this as much on Dalton Am coaching staff, and players around and had been playing since we won so We'll see you know if if Dalton looking better against Washington, then you look Dalton had that conversation but I, I would give Dolphin Pash for this week. I don't know like there's so many problems at blaming him as tons of you know it's the lack about this all day you know it is what it is the team disaster and we have what we talked about this at all. There's no defense for this. Now it's it's an absolute disaster. If there any cowboys fans out there and he fellow cowboys, fans may add you that are somehow delusional that this team's GonNa turn it around and make a playoff run or get into the playoffs just lay off the crack pipe at this point. seriously. This team sucks their horrible they are. They have put. One of the cowboys.

My name is Ben Madison, your host alongside me as always the talented Mr Lane Smith sir, how are you? This evening O. Onnell of talented is give me a lot of credit there. A you deserve it i. think you deserve. What's going on? How was your weekend? We it was good. It's It's been an interesting finish to the week which will get to but We can was good bit weather finally cooler show teaser. Yes. I do some stuff that I've been moved to do for us a couple of weeks. So that's fun but Really Playoffs coming down to the end Major League Baseball. So now we all yet left football. So yeah, I. Know It's like we're at the end they're they're about to close that buffet and like an hour and I guess if further us that like to eat more than others, we shouldn't talk about it but hey, look. You gotta go back and get that last little plate of food while you can still choose your sport essentially. So it's exciting times for sure I are braves let us down. It's it's twenty twenty, but it wasn't quite crazy enough to pull that one out. There and do we really think it would be the braves play offs didn't you Kinda know how was going to go? Yes I did but at the same time I held out hope and I don't know why you always. Up Three to one come on one, you should win four game. One, go back I go back to the game they had the big lead and blew it end. They still wanted a game but the dodger bats woke up a gave him confidence and that confidence curious absolutely game to Atlanta had on and barely won the game, but they allowed La to get four runs in the navy. And barely pull that one out with a win, and then of course, in game three, Elliott exploded for eleven in the first inning of game three. So essentially, La scored fifteen runs in two innings on them L. N. while the braves came back in one game game four, ten to two. I. Was you know it's a it's an emotional roller that they put us on. And it it. It was just perplexing. Then when you when you look at game seven last night. And the terrible terrible base running I want to say that was the fourth inning maybe basically two runners. Get thrown out Turner makes the play he turns around throws the third after tagging out the runner trying to score and it was just basically they just left to runs on the board and I turned to my wife message. This game is over they're GONNA, lose this game by one run and that's exactly what happened Yup. So it's You know the more things change the more things stay the same. The one thing I will say, give me a little hope is his team is loaded. This team has young are they have some young stars? They have a good coach in Brian Snicker. So I think the future is going to be bride Midland I. Think you're right a they been good last couple of years and they look this is the best they've had a very long time and So it looks like the right pieces, the players have confidence and they've gotten this far. So next year, they know where they hey, full of being and hopefully they'll go further than that. Yeah I. Think. So I think we have good reason to be optimistic playoff woes. Be Damned will see what we can do next year. For. The dodgers is this the year that they're going to get over the Hump I. Hope Not. Not, because it is when the dodgers lose in the playoffs or the world series, entertaining says the daughters front office you never know what they're gonNa do and they roberts has somehow managed to cling onto his jaw blast three years. So you gotta believe they don't close out this year they roberts will be done in La. I mean, you think that but at the same time. Has he been that bad no, but they won the NL. See US three the last four years. They've been to the world series. Of course, they haven't got over the Hump, but they're still a really good team they are but they got too much money wrapped up those players whose contracts to settle for the Elsie every year. It's a good point to fair point I just don't know that you're going to get a better manager I mean who? Who really are you GONNA get? Of course you can get the best of the best, and there's always that new rising star but you know baseball for what I see is just a lot of a lot of rotating the same managers around and of course that's I. Guess That's coaching in general and Professional Sports, but it seems like baseball more. So you get the same rotation of managers. Yeah. You do and and. There's some interesting names out there this time though Aj hinch is available now serving as your suspension. So he'll be back in the fold for somebody, a Alex scores will be back in the bowl somebody There's some interesting named out there they've had success. So they could go get one of those hinch has world series title beat the dodgers. So maybe the dodgers go out and look at him and give him an Orion. If that's assuming, Rogers arrives than gets job done issue, which let's be honest robbers done beat the race with that Contra with the payroll and those players a he should be there next year anyway. I think the razor team that they are they were the number one seed in the American thinking any raise at all. But when you look at new payrolls, the daughter should beat them cleanly. Oh absolutely. But I mean payrolls don't equate to wins. We've seen that now for how many would look at the roster's rosters aren't closed L. A.'s rosters far talent. No sure and I think they're gonNA get it done this year I really do maybe that's more of this twenty twenty thing. But I think this might finally be the year for them I. Hope Not that attended. I have to say I'm reluctantly pulling for the dodgers. I can't do that. It's just in it's more because once I. figured out that you just hate them so worse. Yeah. I you know like I said the Turner, the Turner Jersey man to be ordered it stung for a couple of days been finally get coming around I. I've always liked some of. The dodger players I really have I just you know the dodgers overall don't love the team the team they're just and you think I would like the dodgers because I love the Yankees back in the nineties I. Love with the Yankees Back Nineties, Dan? That was so any daughters are doing the same exact thing. So you'd think I'd like the daughter against him. It's weird I mean a bit. Are you really going to like the Yankees and the dodgers not announced? Not, a chance said, that's the matchup I wanted to see in the world series that we didn't get it. That would have been go well yeah. small-market Tampa against big market L. A. I guess that's the story in this game, it earn the and it'll be interesting to wonders faked is a neutral field. So it's GonNa be all. Arlington, it's going to be saying in that respect no nobile crowd that have a little bit of crowd. there's no home field advantage for either team. So be interesting to see how they perform an oath circumstances and the thing that was interesting too in the CIS is it's it was a neutral field in Arlington, but it was all dodgers I mean, those fans the fans that were allowed to attend. That was all dodgers I. Mean I didn't see hardly any braves fans. Yeah. That's. You know it is because it's closer to Atlanta braves. Anyway yeah, exactly. So that was kinda surprising. Of course, you know La's a massive place where plenty of people with plenty of money can traveled to write. To The Dallas area and I suppose that's how it went down. But you know we'll see I mean it's just we'll see good series. Don't really care who I'm with Yoma good series.

"It was life changing money and yes, there's a lot of security in that. But that that was the deal that really aroma league even like I talked to people that just could not believe. It was weird he he's according to baseball reference which might overinflate war. He was a five point to win player last year there. I mean he's worth three times that contract. Oh, at at least I mean. Accused again was value and he he's guaranteed about hundred million and he's not. Two and a half times as good as obvious. Well, I mean, he will be a free agent though even if those two club options are picked up, he'll be in his thirty year, which is not the worst thing. Yeah. It's just the numbers I mean the the length was perfectly fine. That's kind of a normal extension in terms of length. It was just the he didn't really get any. There was no reason for him to sign an extension of that was what was offered. Yeah. The braves are not really sacrificing anything there. It's also replaced on the players standpoint. So on is more power to the braves if you can get the player to agree to that that helps you. Yet. Your team immensely was because I don't think they're willing to go over the top luxury tax threshold like some other teams will right that. That was the thing about this is that I I felt conflicted because a lot of braves fans you know that care about the braves in the braves only were kind of not mad at me but just like you know why why does it matter? It's radio for the braves and like I'm not saying this not it's an incredible the brace I'm just trying to say like it's not a good deal frosty Albee's and you have to try to care about your player at some point and it was just a legendarily bad job anyway on. Helps them. Yeah. Do you remember Peres Salvador Perez for the Royal Sign. Lake. Something crazy like a six year seven million dollar deal with you royals and then he was like the best catcher in baseball for a couple of years and they actually redid the contract with them. Are This is so bad that maybe that's a situation where the we'll feel like actually feel bad but I doubt because the brain home-buying again, they see a a corporate conglomerate they don't probably care too much about, but ASI is on the level of a player that is so underpaid that it's GonNa look just silly if he's if he's still this player four or five years from now, it's going to look silly it really is..

"You need to wear your baseball hat and you'd apply sunscreen like some people are receiving more I think prone to getting it than others. It is a very serious matter. So I love that you can get with that nonprofit. Are there any ways that people can get directly involved with your charity and UV Radiance.com and there are resources on there to where you can request host an event. There's no Nation link on there. You can ask for more resources on skin cancer education and we provide all of that. So just reaching out and sending an email you could also send us a DM on Instagram that works to ourselves directly to me. Those are all the ways that you can get involved. Incredible you guys right now on this link to Ellison bulls not only initiate a Saint Louis native engagement MLB player was a former Saint Louis baseball, but you took her talk all about starting her own non-profit dedicated solely to people that either a have skin cancer and they need to find resources or be that are trying to prevent skin cancer. You actually started this non profit because you yourself found skin cancer on your own body and you mentioned that you wouldn't even have known about it. You didn't work at a young age because most people are not taught about moles changing and whatnot. Is there anything else that you want to talk about as far as UV radiance? That's really all with you be Radiance. We just host fun events and we're always looking for people to donate or other ideas on fundraising. Sometimes we do like a percentage of sales for businesses and things like that. So those always help but the main thing is just getting educated on skin cancer and getting yourself checked in and checking on your friends and make sure I'm sure they get checked. It's so so important very good tips. We're going to switch over guys, please subscribe to us on Spotify and iTunes at the boss babes ways to call off. Let's talk about lazy copas. That's actually one of the main reasons how I found you I believe I I think that's how I find it. I think I was on the waistcoat Instagram. I was like, you know what this girl is really pretty I like her but she seems very shows. I remember sliding into your DMs just sort of like chatting with you and picking your brain and I was you know, what I want to get this really cute headband, so I recently bought this super cute headband. I'm so excited to take it with me to flog When baseball training camp starts again, but yeah, that's basically like what's your involvement with them? And I know you have your own resale closet which is separate from Lacey Coba kind of tell people that are listening your involvement with fashion and why you were so excited to be involved with bicycle. You had some way one of my best friends. She started lace Eco and I kind of helped start it for fun. We were just, you know, we started selling stuff on Instagram and it was really her thing. So I was like, you are so good at this and you're going to be amazing then she got a store front and back I was a model for her brand and I just kept getting more and involved. And at this point I have now partnered at least Eco and I am selling some items on there and I've been buying lots of different items and soon..

"Remember sitting in the little egg and going up. But when I got to the point, I loved the view like you mentioned I remember seeing the stadium. I remember being up top and almost kind of feeling like this way like hitting the heart kind of like, oh my God and my dog It's a fall right now. Like what's going on? It's like an optical illusion, but it was very pretty. What was your experience like growing up in Saint Louis as a child where you a big sports fan? Was there any type of sports that you watch enjoyed in particular as a kid? Oh my god, of course. So St. Louis is known for being a sport City Cardinals baseball. And st. Louis Blues hockey. I did grow up a Cardinals fan club. I wasn't as involved I was with Blues hockey. I've always been a huge fan of the st. Louis Blues and I still am I actually just got back to Saint Louis a couple of days ago, which was the the history of winning the Stanley Cup. So my mom and I took our Stanley Cup popcorn machine that looks like a Stanley Cup and we put I think we just put like true-life it cuz that's all we had and we drink out of it to celebrate but and then we watched the whole documentary on the Stanley Cup and just tried to relive it because it was the best day ever. But yes, I grew up a page. Hard Blues hockey fan and I think that's just something that's in our blood here in st. Louis Blues fans and Cardinals fans. I've not a Cardinals fan anymore. Do support the Cardinals. I think they're an amazing team and amazing organization. But obviously I have to support my man. And unfortunately a lot of people in st. Louis are very mad at me for that long. He's my man. He comes first. You gotta celebrate the man and show support to the man, but I absolutely love that. You are a Saint Louis Blues fan. It was really tough last year you guys played Boston Bruins my home City in the cop and we thought that we were going to take it and you guys took it home and I actually really enjoyed watching you guys take home the Stanley Cup because I'm well wage, but I was happy you guys want and for the sake that Leila Anderson's you remember that whole story with the young girl that has that debilitating disease and she is a big sale. Yep. Blues band and got to go the games. So for the fact that you guys wanted she got to experience that and lift up the cup and get a ring. I think that is worth its weight in gold and the best friends will come back and win a game like at some point. So I'm very happy that you guys check it home. Yeah, we've waited a really long time and it was such a cool story..

"So I love that you guys right now with this thing to Ellis and bowls. She's from Saint Louis. She's a former Saint Louis Blues ice girl. We're going to be touching upon that shortly and you guys just wrong. He heard her talking about her fiance with my American accent. I don't think I even say it. So I love it. It's very exotic fiance actually plays for the Atlanta Braves years. He's been in the MLB for a really long time. How did you guys meet? I kind of want you to paint the picture of how you guys met how long you've been dating and then I would ask some questions on how he proposed to you. Yes, actually, it's a really cool story how we met. He did sliding my DM's once before we actually met and to be honest with you guys. I thought he was crazy. He would message me all the time and was like, I really like you like I want to come see you or can come to Miami who's playing for Miami at the time? And I thought he was really nice and really cute, but I'm not really interested in dating an athlete just working in that environment. I wasn't really trying to do that. So he started sending me gifts home. At me like 12 dozen roses and I was like, oh my God, like I have never even met this guy. Why is he sending me gifts? And then he was actually supposed to play in st. Louis. I think it was. Yeah. It was the first week of July in 2017, and he was like, I'm so excited. I'm finally going to get meet you and you know, I was kind of planning like, oh, maybe I'll like get lunch with him or something like meet him. He seems like a nice guy, but I wasn't really like not interested. I just wasn't interested in actually having a boyfriend at all or being with an athlete. So I had actually took a trip to visit my friend who was living in Tampa and I was kind of like, oh man, like, I'm really sorry, but ironically I'm actually going to be in Florida the same days that you're back in st. Louis and then he actually ended up getting traded to Tampa Bay two days before I left to Tampa and my friend was wrong. His cousin at the time and they were hanging out and then he got traded so he came up there and we all hung out and then it was totally a God thing and then I did really like him but I was going to like, oh, I don't know if want to like get into it or like you serious with anybody and the next week he flew to st. Louis on his off day to see me off Channel..
