Citizen Kane Reacts to Trump's Attacks on DeSantis
"Something. I want our audience to email us their reaction, freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com. And then I want your reaction cane, which is one of Donald Trump's postings. And I'm a supporter of Donald Trump in 2024 when I saw president Trump in Mar-a-Lago. I privately expressed my opinion that I thought that this line of attack is not effective. In fact, I don't think it actually helps him and I'll read it. He said the fake news media was good yesterday and their coverage of my stops in New Hampshire and South Carolina, other than the globalist street journal, The Wall Street Journal, which is rarely Ecuador good, they said the day was really amazing. The enthusiasm make America great again has ever been stronger. He continues by saying the revelations about quote Ron de sanctimonious doing far worse than any other Republican governor, including that he unapologetically shut down Florida and its beaches was interesting. Indeed, DJT leading big. I'm curious in our audience. You guys can email us throughout. Do you, do you agree with Donald Trump preemptively attacking Ron DeSantis, Ron des sanctimonious and Kane, I want your thoughts, is that resonating with the maga base? Is that kind of going over with murmurs? What are you hearing or seeing? No, it's not really resonating. People understand that's Trump's personality. I mean, we can really get deep into this as to why Trump psychologically would decide to make these preemptive attacks. But no, it's more, it's hurting to a certain degree. You know, there are people who really, really want unity. And they see desantis as the future, whether that comes in 28 or 32. They see Carrie Lake in the same way. And so to this certain cohort of the maga base, they do not want to see a tax. They do not want to see infighting. They don't want to see Trump reaching out and speaking ill of governor desantis. Then there's the other part of the crowd that could care less, they actually think that desantis, they agree with Trump. They think desantis has been not sure what the word is. I'm not thankful enough, perhaps, for the help that Trump gave it. In 2018. And it's true. It's a legitimate point. Desantis was trailing in that primary in 2018. Trump endorsed him. It boosted him in a big way. And a certain part of the Trump crowd, you know, very loyal part of that crowd feels like governor desantis, you know, should stay in his lane and

"Farmer's dog dot com slash fresh start. Traffic and weather together, let's start in San Francisco with Shane Guinness. All right, if you're trying to make your way onto the upper deck of the bay bridge heading into San Francisco, once you get off the bridge, you're going to run into, well, you're going to rent to a lot of slow traffic on the bridge. That's because of a problem 80 westbound right before you get the free monster have a truck that broke down just stuck there in the very far right lane, so you don't have a lot of slow traffic as you're approaching yerba Buena island, also taking a look at our insta view cameras. We are seeing some rain in the area as well. So just use a little bit of extra caution if you're heading in and out of San Francisco. I do have good news at the moment for Vacaville, all lanes are open again the traffic alert has been canceled, have that really nasty accident on the 80 westbound side just after cherry Glen road of 7 cars total involved. Everything has been cleared off the highway and traffic is still really, really slow at this moment from 5 O 5. Your next updates at two 58 on the traffic leader, case CBS. Still have that mix of sun and clouds and some occasional scattered showers as well temperatures this afternoon in the 50s. Overnight lows in the upper 30s to low
Amber Athey: Predicting the 2024 Presidential Field for Republicans
"Is it really good analysts to this stuff of the 2024 field for the presidency on the Republican side that's starting just at the initial stages of materializing now Appears very likely Nikki Haley is in looks like potentially Tim Scott as well based on some of his moves It looks pretty clear at this point Ron DeSantis going to jump in Donald Trump is already in of course Larry Hogan's making some moves Governor of Maryland How do you see this playing out I mean it was clear last time and it's pretty clear now that Donald Trump at a minimum still seems to have a pretty significant plurality And the way the primary systems are set up you know plurality or winner take all in a lot of these states If the field stays large Trump is basically going to run away with it I think Yeah I think that's probably right I heard Larry Hogan saying in an interview the other day that because the squabble is starting between Trump and desantis that that leaves another lane open for the either never trumpers or Trump skeptics I guess they would call themselves But that just feels like 2016 all over again to me That was sort of the hubris that a lot of the field had when running against Trump was he was going to aim his cannons and have all these personal attacks against the other candidates And then the same rational voices could rise above the fray and everyone would take them seriously but it was actually the opposite that happened So I see a similar kind of attitude shaping up around 24 and it just is a reminder that a lot of these guys still won't get it
Fresh "Lane" from KCBS Radio Weekend News
"Provide a boost to cannabis tourism in California. Really the next natural step of normalization. Two O 8 traffic and weather together starting in backfill here Shane. Okay, they gave us a little bit of a erroneous information here regarding this crash on 80 westbound after the cherry Glen road Rivera road exit, we still have a couple of cars that were still stuck in the left lane, so not every car was able to get off the highway there. CHP is on seeing the two left lanes are blocked along with the cherry Glen road off ramp they're about to block that as well, so a lot of stop traffic at this time as you're approaching 5 O 5. Now once you get past that problem, continuing out of Vacaville, making your way through Fairfield all the way through Vallejo, 80 westbound looking really smooth, as could stay like that crossing over the carquinez bridge all the way into Albany, where you have your usual slow traffic on 80 westbound, looking at delays from Buchanan street, and then you're just going to be inching along all the way into emeryville. Now, if you are heading into San Francisco, a lot of slow traffic building up on the upper deck of the bay bridge just after yerba Buena island got a car that broke down and it's just stuck in the second lane from the left. Your next updates at two 18 on the traffic leader, case CBS. Well, it's a mixed bag we have a sunshine mostly sunny in Oakland, but light rain in Livermore and Concord and Santa Rosa partly sunny
Senator Josh Hawley Talks Foreign Policy Threats
"Let's play cut 36. Raytheon CEO says Ukraine is depleted. The weapon stocks faster than expected boy. This is a gift to the weapons manufacturers. They're going to have record profits. I'm not telling anybody what stocks to buy. But if you were to buy Northrop Grumman or Lockheed Martin or Raytheon, I can't imagine you'll do poorly even in a recession. Play cut 36. So as we think about all of the weapons that have been delivered to Ukraine have come out of, I would say, current inventory. We're not building any of those replenishing any of those today, although we're working on it. The fact is we are drawing down weapon stocks much faster, and I think I said this last week, we've gone through in the first ten months of the war 5 years worth of production on javelin anti tank missiles, and we've gone through 13 years worth of stinger production. So it's going to take us some time to catch up. I mean, it's great for business, obviously, for Raytheon, senator, but that's not good for our national security. No, it's terrible for our national security, but it's really terrible for us. Is our effort and our desperate need, Charlie, to deter China. If you think about our foreign policy threats here, where is our greatest foreign policy threat? It is an imperialist China that wants to dominate our supply chains that wants to shut down our ability to trade on fair terms that wants to steal our jobs and steal our technology. What are we doing to counter that? Basically nothing. And what China sees right now is the Americans are completely tied down in Europe. The Americans are spending all of this money and using all of their munitions on Ukraine in this proxy war with Russia and therefore the Chinese are concluding, they can run rampant in Asia. They can continue their efforts at imperial domination, Taiwan will be next and why do we care about any of that? Well, because it's about our security and prosperity. I mean, if you take the supply chain crunch as a problem now, wait until China invades Taiwan and shuts down our shipping lanes, wait until they kick us out of our trade routes in the Pacific, which is what they want to do.

"Mitch marner scored 19 seconds into overtime to complete the Maple Leafs late comeback in the three two win over the rangers. So a lot of time and space and try to come up with the blue line decide you know what I was gonna do try this little play down and see if anything was gonna open up and so I had my own little lane and tried to take it. Competitive Enterprise Institute's Ben Lieberman on Climate Scares
"Let's put this in perspective. I mean, because I'm old enough to remember looking at the magazines and the grocery store rack and seeing the hole in the ozone, we're going to freeze to death, you know, this whole and then it became global warming, then it became cooling. I mean, put in perspective for the listener here, man, a little bit of this whole issue because we go from a really bad environmental environment in the 60s, 70s. I mean, we saw the Cleveland, the river was burning. But we have improved, I think that's what gets lost in this. And if you take the LP admissions, the natural gas emissions compared to some of the others, you know, environmentalists, they don't seem to take a win here. I mean, it's put that in perspective for us. Well, I think these are the folks who live by the cliche moving back to goalposts. I think part of it is because they have a larger ideological agenda that they're using environmental scares in order to advance that they're not really interested in fixing environmental problems like the cuyahoga river being as dirty as it was like air quality being bad as it was half a century or more ago and as more real environmental problems get solved and I think we've got a long way to solving the real problems then it becomes a matter of exaggerating or even inventing problems just to keep this whole agenda going. And I think that's how I look at climate change and you're absolutely right before there was the climate change crisis. There was the ozone depletion crisis. The acid rain crisis, the rainforest crisis, the radon crisis, asbestos crisis, dioxin. I mean, we could spend the rest of this afternoon taking a stroll down doomsday memory lane. None of which turned out to be nearly as bad as you would think if you read The New York Times or watch the network news. So
Randle has 36, 8 3s as Knicks stop Mitchell, Cavs 105-103

The Cavs had a chance to tire win the game on the final possession, but Donovan Mitchell and Evan mobley both missed shots in the lane.
War on drugs locked him up; now he's a cannabis entrepreneur
"The war on part locked him up, now the state is helping him become a marijuana entrepreneur. Roland Conner has been in and out of jail for drugs, but that was the past, his future lies in New York State's new marijuana law and shops. I saw my son going down this path. And so when I saw my son going down his path, that's what, you know, made me want to say, hey, you know what? I see what's going on with him. I know that the laws are changing in New York. Written into the law, the opportunity for those convicted of low level drug offenses, many black and brown, like Connor to operate cannabis shops. They made a way. They made a lane for people can go from legacy to legal, and I'm pretty sure a lot of other people want to follow in those footsteps. And so if I can actually pave that way, that's what I want to do. His is the second legal recreational cannabis shop to open in the city, Julie Walker, New York

Sebastian Welcomes Jock Condon of Sentinel Protective Strategies
"Pitched to me a very interesting service that you provide. What is sentinel protective strategies all about jock? Okay, so we empower people to really use the Second Amendment to their advantage. The Second Amendment is there shall not be infringed. Having spent 20 years in law enforcement and ten years in the private security industry looking after Fortune 500 CEOs and the likes, you know, people should be secure in their homes. I know they say you like this one. An English minimum man is his cassette as the home is his castle. Right. And everybody appears so and that's why we have laws within each state that's commonly referred to as the castle doctrine. You have the right to stand your ground and you're on home and protect your family. So what we did is we designed a training program. So we'll go out somewhere. We will look at somebody's property, we'll do a residential risk assessment, let them know whether we are. So you will go to them instead of people going to some training facility and learning how to shoot or do self defense. You will look at their situation in situ. Absolutely. Yeah, we don't draw people in and throw 20 people in the classroom and just throw information at them. I will go into somebody's house. They know their house better than anybody. So we can identify their stronghold. If someone comes in with bad intentions, we'll be able to tell them exactly where to go and draw that lane in the sand.

Body Positivity Gets a Boost With Vogue's Plus-Sized Cover Model
"But I can't win this way when the body positivity movement got a bump this week to just see this one Vogue magazine featured the plus size model paloma el Cesar on the cover it's January issue and she posted on Instagram, of course. She shared the cover and she praised Vogue for allowing people to see the bodies like hers or no longer radical. Well, they really are. I wouldn't use the word radical. I'd use not attractive, really. I shouldn't say that. Not up to showing on a magazine cover. Like, I want my magazine covers to have women to look a certain way. Unless the magazine is about plus size people. I don't need plus size people invading Li magazines. I just don't. You got your own magazines for that, right? You got your own stores for that for every 21 and shit like that. What the fuck, why we gotta spread it around. Just stay where you are. Stay in your fucking lane. She goes, I woke up this morning. This shoot and hit my knees. I rolled out of bed. I prayed for protection and care for a day where I could honor how monumental this was. For the voices to be quieted. Why the fucking heavy people act this way? Fucking calm down. For the voices to be quieted to know that this was bigger than me and to know I was exactly where I needed to be the day was crisp and low hanging fog kissed Long Island pond. I'd soon pose in. Everything became so surreal as I looked out to Gabby letitia Susie and Annie to work and collaborate with women I so deeply, I don't know who the fuck these people are, but basically she went on and on about to know that I'm shooting an American Vogue cover as a chubby short mixed race woman who never imagined this would be her reality. Listen, we don't need to know your mixed race. We can see it by your complexion and that's wonderful. You don't have to people have to stop saying it. We know you're mixed race. It's evident. That's wonderful that your mixed race, but to keep fucking pump in it, we know you're chubby and we know you're short too. So why you think you need to volumize that is beyond me?
"lane" Discussed on NBA Front Office w/ Keith Smith & Trevor Lane
"Hello, everybody. Welcome back to the NBA front office show. We got some NBA action from last night to get into. We've got another game for tonight. Talk more blowouts and what's going on with all of that can we please stop it with the blowout games that would be fantastic. We've got some news. We've got Zach lavine, update to get into. We've got a few other things to talk about Kyrie Irving. The nets maybe not committed long-term to him? Yeah, lots of stuff for us to talk about today. I'm Trevor lane. You can find me on Twitter at Trevor underscore lane at Trevor lane NBA over on Instagram, Keith Smith, at Kate Smith, NBA. Keith, how are you doing? And were you like me where you got kind of somewhat hopeful when the warriors started to make that little bit of a comeback last night? All right, I'm going to give a peek behind the curtain. I may have turned it off and went into watching a show with my wife. And then I was still following online and then as I get close, I came back and said, all right, let's go. Let's actually get a game that goes down to the final 5 minutes here. But alas, it was not necessarily to be, but hey, Dallas extended it. So we do get at least one more game. I forget it. I've read this stat, I don't know, was there something like the 57th or 58th team of force, a game four of those some chunk have forced game or force a game 5, some chunk of force to game 6, but only three have over forced the game 7, and none have actually gone on to win. So it's going to happen eventually. It's this time around, but it is going to happen eventually. I don't think it's going to happen this time. I think it's going to take like for somebody to come back from a three zero deficit. It's going to be some situation where a star player is out for the first couple of games in a series or something that then comes back. And it completely changes the dynamic of the matchup. And into the other team loses a guy or something like that, yeah. Exactly. Exactly. I was with you though as far as being happy that Dallas came back and actually I wasn't hoping for the warriors to win the game..

And yeah, wait, we had a lot of fun. Plus, this scheme's late. So there's a good chance you may see me fall asleep live on air. This is getting late for me. I tend to sometimes at these games aren't interesting. I bail out of them and record them and then watch them in the morning. So, but I'll do my best to hang in there. I'll pick up a coffee or something on the way home. Well, I appreciate that. I picked the later games. I thought, okay, my daughter will be in bed less chance that my wife will want to kill me if I do this that night, but that think about it. I'm like, oh, this is really, really late. So thank you. Yeah, we'll make it work. All right, let's dive into the news that we've got for today. Well, I guess actually, let's start with the playoffs. Let's start there. Your Boston Celtics. Might as well start with a bounce back in a big way against the bucks. I still think this just kind of my outsider sense. I don't think the Celtics are as bad as they looked in game one. I don't think they're going to stay as red hot as they were in game two..

"You could and quicker. We had 12 guys here for practice right now that our brand new portal college transfers. So that's very unusual. And that will continue, you know, last year we had our center right before training camp. So, you know, it is where it is now. And that is a good thing. You can lose some great players and not dip way down like you did before and have to wait for your freshman to be ready to play. Coach will let you get back to the program. I know there's a lot of activity going on. We look forward to talking to you again very, very soon. Thank you, coach. All right, Paul, thanks, have a good one. You got it. Lane kiffin joining us from pro day where you can tell it was pretty loud and distracting. I felt for him trying to carry on a conversation right in the middle of ball's whizzing by his head. Let's get to the calls here at 8 5 5 two four two. 7 two 8 5 and Mitch is up next. Hey Mitch. I got a question about an article I read. Are you familiar with Bama hammer? No. It's a website. Are you familiar with the journalist Ronald Evans? I am not. He wrote an article of Satan that Tennessee volunteers are now the number one school by employers. Well, I mean, again, I'm sure anybody can say anything or write anything or say or broadcast anything, but I have no earthly idea what he's talking about. A young man committed this past weekend to Tennessee. And he is saying that to conglomerate get together and made an $8 million deal. Well, that is, that was first reported by the athletic and Stewart mandel. We had Stuart on here the other day. And he talked about that story. He was careful how he couched it, because I don't think he mentioned the individual's name. But I do think that that is, but again, there's a big difference between a conglomerate being involved, which in theory is legal and making an accusation that a university is buying a player, which is illegal. That was the headline that taught my attention to reap the article Tennessee volunteer now number one in buying players. Well, I would say that is that is an inflammatory headline and the purpose of that headline is to do what it accomplished and that's to get you and others to read it, but and I know I know I'm parsing words here, Mitch, but that is not accurate. You can no, no. You can get players. I mean, I just got, I just asked lane a minute ago. There are literally agents out there today who are calling people connected to schools saying, hey, if you want this guy, it will cost you X number of dollars. So yes, I mean, in my mind in your mind, schools are buying players. They're not doing it directly though, but they are doing it. No, I agree with everything you're saying. I was just curious if you would even solid. It was the reason why. Well, I've heard about it. I have heard about it. Yes. So it's a new world. And I think coach coach giffen was very low key about it a minute ago. But it is going on. Hey, thank you for the call. Meanwhile, Pete Tamil has an interesting story with all these coaching changes. Many of you were wondering what would happen to Frank Martin really a beloved coach at South Carolina who did TV over the weekend. Thermo is reporting right now that he has emerged as a target in the UMass basketball search. That's a really good basketball job up there in Amherst. John calipari took them to the final four about 25 years ago. We are coming back with much, much more, including the current women's coach of the number one team in the country, dawn staley, she'll join us next. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. The Paul fine bomb show airs weekdays on the SEC network beginning at three eastern..

"We were cleaned up here in studio, Peter burns, Roman Harper, we're not the only ones though. They're in Oxford, is our cohort always looks good. Greg mcelroy, gmat. You're going to see Matt corral now with Gerry and Ely run some routes early. What do we want to see in this and just overall for the day from that? Well, I'll just start kind of with what y'all were saying. I've been to probably 20 of these. Everyone from dak Prescott to Mac Jones, you know, I've never been to one where that music, ever. This is kind of the first to kind of create, I guess, what is a little bit of a vibe here in the indoor practice facility. Now the big thing with his wide receivers and with the running backs that will be participating. But it's about Matt Carell. As much as we love The White House, as much as I think they have a really talented nucleus of weapons that he's going to be throwing to throughout the next 30 minutes. Matt corral is the guy that's taking center stage. He's the reason why there's four NFL head coaches here in attendance. He's going to have to not just display accuracy, but NFL level accuracy, like we talked about a little bit earlier. NFL level accuracy is not completion versus incompletion and all completions are good throws, not the case. NFL level accuracy is if a throw requires it to be on the left shoulder, it's on the left shoulder if it's the right shoulder is the right job. If it's a face mask, the face mask, we want to see throws like that from Matt Carell and the other thing too, like so many other quarterbacks have done in recent years to become very trendy when it comes to the pro days. We want to see the off platform throws. Things that are really abnormal, things that are uncomfortable to showcase flexibility and raw natural arm talent. So those are the things that we can expect from him today, and then I also think too. He's going to want to show off mobility. Y'all the last time we saw him on a competitive field, he was rolling around in pain. And that's not something that scouts wanted to see at the end of his college career. He's now at a 100%. He's back to fully healthy after the high ankle sprain. Show mobility show that that's no longer going to be an issue and that you have a clean bill of health heading into the next couple of months of evaluation. I would love to see Matt corral on the run. I care less about the wow throws and more about his accuracy and what Greg is talking about. Make sure ball placement is so important in the NFL because the windows and your opportunities to complete passengers are so much smaller. So you have to throw it into tighter windows and can you drive the football in those 25 yard 20 to 25 yard completions over the middle of the football, which a lot of NFL teams run on Sunday. So Roman, you were talking about it. I want to bring you Greg into this conversation as we get ready to watch macare start his pro day. So just that the offense for Matt corral under lane kiffin, how much does that play into what you see in the NFL Roman? Like how much do you see that? Very little, very little. I think lane kiffin is so unique in the way he attacks defense is that you don't see it. There's a lot more formation, a lot more tempo. But when it comes to.

"Welcome back here and don't forget matched income later, we already had lane kiffin, great conversation with lane, Faye is up next in Virginia. Hello fey. Why? Hey, Paul, how you doing? Hey, we're doing great. Thank you. Thank you for taking my call. Well, I want to talk to you about Jackie from Tennessee that I thank you took care of her and the player also. And I just wondered does she have a team in college football? I didn't want to be snotty with Jackie blue there. And. Well, I just like for her to know that every team in the country as far as I'm aware of play lesser teams than they are. And I also tried to call you last week and we got disconnected. I wanted to apologize to you for starting that rumble on her street. It went on and on. Quite a brawl. I certainly apologize. You gave an opinion and obviously a lot of people agreed. Well, Missy, there's some answer wanted to talk to you about a man when he got on that day. He called every, he said every Alabama fans were member of a cult. Right. So I just want him to know that everybody know including myself are not called members. I'm a solid Jesus Christ that we're in favor. But that don't mean I don't football college football and I don't have an opinion. But like I say, I apologize for starting at rumba last week. I really didn't intend for it to take over just about your whole show. And Faye, I appreciate your kindness, but you don't know us an apology. You take care of yourself. Jake is up next. Hello, Jake. Hey, Paul, are we doing? We're doing great. Thank you. I just wanted to pick your brain on something. I've seen kind of a trend over the years, which is an SEC bias, especially when it comes to the rankings, which eventually leads into the playoffs. I mean, you've got a one Alabama team out there who lost to an unranked Texas payment at the time. You still at Ohio State, the loss to now rank for or even though the two lost highest seed team is an SEC team. And a lot of these guys eventually become three, four, 5 loss teams. And I just wanted to kind of pick your brain on the side of it being a bias there. If the only thing I would ask you is, who would you have rank higher than Georgia or Alabama? George definitely deserving of the number one spot. Alabama, I would have to say Oregon House state, even Cincinnati, giving them their shot. You know, I'm going to tell you that Oregon lost to a very bad Stanford team. Correct. But even Ohio State sent out there losing to the number 14 of the nation. It kind of blows my mind that these SEC teams are kind of getting past is almost I think it doesn't matter because we're three weeks away from the final poll in these polls are really TV, TV window dressing, but I think sometimes people in their heads are thinking, and they shouldn't be, but they are. What happened 9 months ago, ten months ago or 11 months ago now when we know how they played Alabama's 28 point game. That should not be a factor. A judge would not let that into a trial. But these are human beings who can't escape that memory. Cincinnati is a different story. Cincinnati is being held back because they play a pathetic schedule. Is it their fault? Not my fault. No, and that I'm looking at as well as Notre-Dame who lost the Cincinnati came off, had to play a couple teams off right off a little by had pretty tough schedule there. And they lose a game and it's almost like they're being held hostage because of that one loss to the most powerful group of 5 teams. Well, I agree with you. But I think Notre-Dame is very good, but you know what, you know, Notre-Dame's problem is the same as always been. They don't have a game at the end of the season to make it up. And last year they were in a good, if they were if Notre-Dame was in the ACC could that championship game put them over the top. It might, it might not, but it certainly would help them. Right now, their season ends next week and they'll sit around and watch everybody move past them. But that's another Notre-Dame goes every more than everyone else. They're the smartest team in America for not being in a conference, aren't they? Steve is up next in Tampa. Hello, Steve, you're on the air. Paul, I hope you're well this evening. I am, thank you. I just want to make a real quick point before I get into Mullen. But so Cincinnati deal, you know, everyone's wants to have 12 teams or 20 teams or 50 teams, but everyone needs to remember that the Cincinnati of the world when they play. Now this year is not a great example, but when they play the top four teams in the country, it's not even it's not even close and it's not pretty. And so what are we why go through that? We found out in the last 15 years that the top 14 are there for a reason. Usually they get a pretty right. But why, you know, I just, I don't believe in doing it for the sake of being politically correct or making people feel included. Because in the end, you know, they just don't compete. And it's a nice story, but again, they don't compete. Mullen has got me I'm a gator fan have been for years. And I've always been a Mullen supporter. For years ever since ever since he came to Florida with urban Meyer. And, you know, he's done kind of quirky things. And I was talking to your screener about the dark Vader thing..

"When it comes to running offenses, but are there any coaches out there that you try to pay attention to a little bit more than others when you're not coaching or not do you have idle time? But you do, I'm sure are interested in what's going on around the country. Yeah, I don't during this season. You know, that's off. She's in project. You know, we pick some people and over time we pick different people, you know, lately, Lincoln riling, what they do a great job there. So we study people all the time because we're always evolving. We don't know a lot of people just stay the same, which is fine and run the same plays. We don't do that. We're always trying to evolve because we feel like everyone's always trying to catch up to us. And you're saying something a minute ago back that you're not supposed to like coaches, but when you do that in the off season, our other programs welcoming to you going there or them coming to you? It all depends. Some do some don't. So we've been to places over time, just like in Alabama we went different places, which I think is documented and so just always trying to grow. Finally, this season, it's not over yet. I know you have two games, but already the picture is being painted of one of the more memorable seasons at all miss. Can you think about that until it's over? I mean, you know it's been good. You had game day, you've had all kinds of national attention, but how do you regard where you are right now? Well, we've got a chance to do something really neat. You know, within this building, it's all about want to know and went in this week, but obviously we understand the big picture and I did not realize till yesterday told someone there's never been an old mess team ever when ten regular season games. So that would be pretty cool for these kids to always be able to say they were the first ones to ever do that. Well, coach, thank you. It's always good to see you. We appreciate you. The audience in particular loves to follow you on Twitter and hear what you have to say next. So I hope you'll come back soon. You got a Paul, have a great week. You got it. Always great. Considering it's the eve of the season when a lot of this news was yesterday for the vast majority of the league, there was some pretty big stuff that came out. So I'm excited to dive into it and it's important stuff too. I think we got one guy wants to stay and one guy really doesn't want to say where he is anymore. Let's start with the guy once. And we're not talking about Ben Simmons. That's the crazy thing. There's no simmon siren. There's no Kyrie news or anything like that. It's neither one of those two guys. Thank you I just think he's so refreshing and just a great addition every respect To the sec. So thank you for him second. What a home run. Having adam burke and bruce feldman on in the same afternoon My take is. Bruce is probably the top of his game and at some point I would like you to get your take on that third and this one address three people. Mike will bomb stephen smith colin cop now. These guys are talented. obviously have a great following. But here's the problem paul. They consider themselves experts in major league. Baseball the nfl the nba. The ncaa basketball the nc. Double a. football. Which is frankly a sham. And you called mike out appropriate in my view. There's only one vote in college football and that you we appreciate you and we appreciate your show. Thank you thank you joe. Let me let me say that. I appreciate what you said but what those guys do They they offer an opinion on calisthenics and and that is extremely difficult. I'm not defending the tag. I've already said what i have to say about that. But i've been on. Some of these programs were suddenly though hits you about the nfl hit you about and you can't be an expert on everything. I mean no matter how much you prepare It's difficult to really keep up with all of that. And when you're doing your show. I you're covering the masses so which you need Is is to be is to have people that are supplying you with information and someone really should have just said mike because th that's not an extemporaneous show they. They know the topics in advance. And maybe he didn't give his take early but somebody should stopped him I wish i had because frankly i would have been more than happy to To tell mike we're We're lane kiffin is right now but anyway it. It's a it's a it's a show. it's not. I mean let's not get carried away with any any of the comments that any of us make Their just opinions and their They get thrown out with garbage at the end of the day. Just like sometimes Callers takes do red. Red dog is paul. How many points do you think the piglets are going to score this weekend. I dunno leaning on the poet laureate of Georgia football to give me an answer. I'm thinking and i you know when i saw the spread. Come out i was like i didn't think it'd be more modest fourteen But i can understand. Because i think georgia scores thirty fos. Arkansas scored twenty gets am. I don't think there's no way though school more than ten maybe three so maybe way off. And i'm just telling you you know we just want this play defense all day that and i'd be more interesting but You know. I think we're gonna wear arkansas out. They have no. I asked arkansas fan. I saw in atlanta. I said y'all ready to beat the dogs and untrue. Honestly the guy goes. We're going to try. And he looked scared so i'm ready to dogs will be on top and we're ready to play bama and beat bamaca's bama is a weak link. How about them dogs fall. Dogs calvin is calling next good afternoon. Calvin from florida I for nets. usc head coach be hugh freeze. Okay and other than the fact. He's a good football coach. Can you can you give me any other reasons why you think you would work out there. I think with his recruiting talents and being in california what he was able to do it. All miss Something as enticing as being in in california. I think would be really great for recruits. They were able to pull corey form and Is clay out. And i think skies with free calvin. He's a very good coach. I think it's highly unlikely he gets a job. John is in louisiana john. John you there. Yeah i'm in los angeles louisiana. John i i i apologize for that when i see la next to a name. I'm taking louisiana. I i. I wouldn't but but we're happy to have you from la los angeles now. I totally understand that. Go over there and talk to him so That's about the only answer. I have on that for you. Do you like it when when nick sabin is saying. My quarterback who hasn't played yet is about to get a million dollars in endorsements. Is this a change. That lane kiffin likes yet. That wasn't on purpose at all. It wasn't said knowing that that was going to go national. And just throw it out. You know close to dollars you know that didn't just like really upset Rest of the sec. That would have no impact in recruiting. All how did you receive the news of texas and oklahoma coming over to your conference in a blatant money. graham. I read on the ticker So I think it's good. You know the sec's most powerful by far now. Lead me more. So no you're recruit. How do you not go to the sec. And especially as you talk bout name. Orange likeness contracts. How much they're gonna make all the money around with tv contracts and attention on on the conference or kinda like you're going to have division one division to everybody else. What is the thing about texas and oklahoma coming over to your conference. That people aren't talking about enough or are missing that you find interesting. I think it'll be strange. I have some tradition in me. What with sports in college football I just think that's a strange scene. You xs are oklahoma. Going enda tuscaloosa. You know or athens just and had been no conference game that would be every year or divisional game every year. that's just strange to me but sure it used to like am go. What something having left the nfl and come back to college football that you look as a man. I'm glad i don't have to deal with that anymore. I just on a positive. I like college. Because i. I like how kids play and care and i'm not saying players don't care enough fell but the best example that to me makes sense is in college. You choose where you're going like. And most of the time. I grew up wanting to go there are i want to be this player. That played there like a passion to go from the state in until they choose you. So i'm of course you want to win and all that stuff but it's just a different energy and passion towards the game and tell now you're getting paid so you know the there was a different sarah to you know a job versus you know a choice. Have you had any funny eccentric. Strange interactions with mike leach. Since both of your now wandering around the conference and he is one of the most unusual characters anywhere in the history of leadership is is very unusual. Yes in just did a state or county fair which had state county a county fair in mississippi together. So i don't think we ever thought that they would seem that. Were up in chairs and a no barn thing that i might hannah. Montana's gonna come out or something but Every every encounter is unique. Yes would you be kind enough please. To just set the scene for us the county fair with lane kiffin and mike leach. Any all details. You could give us please. Well not as fun as you would like because we were actually. I was recruiting so actually just flew in landed. Did it got back on the plane and bacteria or so Not not as exciting as you would think would have stayed there overnight and But knowing leach. I guess it's like an eight bay sarah that they stay at. So i'm knowingly. Cheap probably stayed a lot longer than me. When competition with coach li over a recruit. Would you rather go before coach leach. Or after 'cause i gotta think there is aid just an inherent advantage be going at was weird and then go into your show yeah. I think we'd rather go after on that. Let him kind of goes leads style on them. And then we'll we'll come in and actually let them talk so it'd be different coach of wondering you said the county fair. Are there any dunk tanks at the county fair. in have you ever sat in a dunk tank. I don't think i've sat one. We did have one at our spring game on through the losing coaches and players I don't know if there was one of the county fair wasn't there long enough The ought to walk around and see. But i'm sure there was more generally for lane kiffin. The highlights of a county fair are what more generally because you've established. Hey i was in and out there. Very busy recruiting. I don't have time to throw tomatoes at a maiden or go to the axe chop so give us whatever the axe throw. Whatever the details of the county fair.

"You're trying to really dial in your health or performance and and jill how a mill- replacements differ from protein powders. Yeah i mean. That's a good question. I really think at the different name for for the same thing right. I mean i hear the word meal replacement so it tells me that someone might be drinking a shake instead of eating. You know chewing a meal and so you can take a protein powder and turn it into a meal replacement because again up. A meal doesn't just consist of protein right and should have fat fibre. Maybe some additional carbohydrates and some essential fatty acids and so you can take a protein powder and mix it with water and chia and flax essential fatty acids and some fiber could have berries for carbohydrates and additional fiber and become more like a meal. So i think it really depends on. What are you mixing in with it and again. What is your intention. Are you trying to temporarily. I think junior mentioned maybe people do this. Replace a meal or two a day with a shake A part of your weight loss journey and eat you know and then each physically eat and chew meal which i think is important at least once a day That's different than if you're just drinking some protein powder mixed in water. Help get your poteen levels up. And so they're one and the same but it depends again on what your intention of it is well. Listeners are loving this conversation. I just got an email and it says that protein shakes. Make me congested. I know you're going to touch on this. Let's talk about it casey. And could that be the culprit. i would. i say if it's a way protein or has any dairy derivative that would be my. I suspect Because we've talked a lot about this in the past and now you have other experts that have been on who talk about the impact of area on the body and for me even personally. I can't dairy. You can see if. I love because my first symptom. Is i get congested and buggery and mucus my throat. A lot and no one wants to live like that right it could be. I'd be paid for my first recommendation. State would be to excuse me. Switch off away your way protein to something that dairy free whether you go to plant based one or a a beef protein bone broth protein. There's a couple of options there but if it's very based poteen would that would be the first thing and then just again make sure. You're not mixing in milk or something like that. When you switch your protein powder because again it would be to try to go dairy free if using a plant based powder then again. you're observing. What am i missing it with is. There's something in here whether it's a sweetener protein source as potentially triggering this triggering this reaction you kind of have to put your detective hat on and see what could be coming from So much so much more to talk about. "Spends half the time enjoying other men fighting for her effective them like no lowest in any good characters. Asian would not want any part of that like he's not he doesn't want men waiting for her. This no were age. Superman girlfriend lowest lane. That's something at t would orally be all about. Yeah i mean you know. I've known lois character. Like i from the live action point of view. I had the chris movies when i was young. And yeah what puzzles stories about. It wasn't much older. That i realized that superman one in two different like always remember them in. My mind is like one movie. I forgot what happened to You know that was kind of live action and then getting to bid like we had superman the enemy and i think dana delaney's performance was by the best education of. I'm of lois. I mean you had lois and clark as well I love the animated lowest. Dana delany is the lowest common at in my and oh boy i chewed was one of those actors that could have played a live act in addition given the yeah editing at that and i had a lovely revelation one day when i was watching the movie tombstone with my father and i realized that it was being belania in it. I hadn't seen it clears just washing calling crap. And he's like what. Well this low is wayne is like what we're talking about your not used the way you're not putting the base boy zita bad but yes the look the part of lois especially in her younger days definitely gonna played an amazing and ask you one question. Would you answer just show you hold this thought. I want you to think and we'll bring it up the end coup. Would you like the passe. Now or maybe like not too long ago within the past and years though do you think should have played lowest or should just think about. That should ask you this way before. Until he's sorry he had more time body spot honesty answers or or you get duct week later added know. I think the comics have done very well. She's gotten several for own series. I actually really want to read this. Most recent lois lane series. And i haven't got a chance to do it. Have you ready yet. no now i. i'm behind on comic. Did read there was like out. I think it was a hoop partier like this little miniseries theories that came out with the new fifty two. Maybe that was. That was real. I know you're talking about i I read that one. That time like read everything. I could get my hands. That was the library. Libraries are great people. Forget the libraries. Demo- is referencing all these trades library in our library. Even here gets individual issued. So you can go and like you know. Read to stay like on like completely caught up sometimes but it definitely is a great resource to if you just want to fill in the gap and something be able to dive into library. Loan is be bad. That's how i felt out of my reading. Yeah i really do. Want to read the most recent lois lane. I've heard it was really good like lois lane. Enemy of people If that one have so far as commerce goes have you read any of when they did the you birth Or the superman was the lowest in art or rebirth miniseries. Yes no and they. When they had john and i read a little bit of that. And that's pretty good. And then the coopers guns i mean i all that is not focused on that but this duberstein's according to this act that they were allowed to kind of the dc doesn't like bill at their oscar up to the fact that bailout lowest than berman grow up a little more and having ed that was a preteen with pretty. I love blake. So rebirth happened. Twenty sixteen and so like you have the end of two thousand fifteen twenty six win. That lois and clark miniseries came out urgency in twenty fifteen ambassador that solomon them with born own so to me like i love reading about superman coming a dad and then having it you know because i'm like even more now with this character and then jon horst was was like eight and a n Depending on where you fall in the books of solomon's sake and it's just it's like really cool. I really liked seeing superman like that. Because i feel like as a character like it's funny to me because superman care to that would be like the best dad and we like the best partner but yeah he mainly worked bologne like he doesn't have really his side pick a away from him so sorry. I liked the idea of super boy and superman working together. And i just i like that superman that error like I really liked the rebirth air. And i like seeing the dynamic of clark and lowest as husband and wife yes. I've read a lot of nineties. I'm actually in the process of trying to some old made straight. Borough was gonna take me forever but you know whatever so you know. It's like you read a lot of the older like the do.

"Welcome to the krypton report. This is a special episode of building towards the premiere of superman. Lois which. I know that. I'm super excited. For as well as james and sadly james the man of steel is not here with me tonight. Yeah he's out saving the world of supposed to be doing but you know we can't all be as magnificent gene so with today's topic. I thought in another friend that but who is actually who could it be. You've heard her before he'd been here once before. And i am welcoming me. Back elliott ner from the phoenix sisters. Cost place the talk about lois lane. Walking kelly thank you ever on. Lois is near and dear to my heart. I agreement dumped at the ant out her. Even one of the first half michael these hell lewis and clark the new adventures of superman. That was like my gate withdraw you these the account and ban and the animated here anabol- that being really into these yup. So where do you want to start with talking about. Well as well but start. I you said that lows. Clark was where you got. Was that your first introduction to the character or that the one that just kind of set you off the yup. This is the one. I like now as inches back into their now. If i remember those really made hers real initiative like. I'm sorry. I was aware of the law because who is then. Why dow is my first time. Really i think something. But superman and lois lane and i just found while with both characters. And how relatable they were and lois lane is these this character that is not just one thing like a lot of people like to raider opposite damsel in distress and i take great issue with that. Because is not as the damsel. That's there for superman you catch. When she's falling g career woman. The balances guberman owl and and a lot of version of superman story. Most birds in this story is there rating much from the beginning. And he's the one who a help like he's the one who aims embarrassed is the one who inspires pam because he gets to know her from afar as duper man and then he also gets no hers part and use inspired by hers recruiting just as so and these but she's also the is bannon even though he's like a career woman still allowed to be an ed is definitely a woman like he's not one of the you know some female characters is a they literally just write them as a male character and change them injured gender be female and that revolutionary too. Don't get me wrong but diesel being feminine and that doesn't take away from her be the top reporter daily. Sorry cler i think clark has always been you. I think lowest. Always on top. And i i love the lowest linked air more and more He's grown sometimes. One of those ages people aren't sure what to do with most the time she's a damsel in distress quote unquote is because she's sticking her neck out and doing her job and often going places that are dangerous and then she just in trouble and everything but this is stuff that she would do without there being superman like it's not like she's always in trouble because like when one of my ongoing jokes with my brother and stuff we were younger was we would watch ville and we. My brother got to where he started using the theme song. See somebody save bonner. Because i felt like ana was always injured or just being at not not because of her doing anything but just being herself always put her in danger and that was something. I thought was hilarious. And lois is like the fifth Of that right. She has a lot more agency under. Lana smalto his lawa's malda was the optic equals act as a goes out and get what d one is no one abject abject people's affect them but is not err right exactly e- there's a reason why or So take us through the air. Or what do you know about the work. Oh my gosh. Her origins incredible late bet aged boys in the thirties came up with this era. There that is even by today's standard opri femina as those. Is this downs. Like go back and read that first acting comic and it holds up pretty well like the but she's a female reporter in a time when most women didn't have frears and yeah ok i go report. Yes she they. Baseball of the amazon friday or something like the rain or berm and they they make a point in the In the book of knowing that she has the were poisonous powered bergfors and that he is and is getting. The crap is meant is getting the lovelorn column and then she's also has like here's one time when she inquired our owl and some guy comes along and the poorest to dance and that's why he basically what gift giving up after that but basically man's lake to dance with the she doesn't have that go anywhere with you it isn't what do and low also is like standing up her style even back then like way before the metoo movement way before any of that will has agency and these willingness and upper is up and say hey i'm interested in you and she never won the is no along and be played a nice a my own pretty do know. Maybe you did that. I am bullyboy. I stuck my book. Rep i'm the original model or the or lowest lane. Inspiration of character was a woman from cleveland who schuster had an attractive within became friends with siegel. Shuster dairy siegel ended up mayor..
