Exploring The Murder of Yvonne Lane: Reaching Out to Joe Wilkes

"It seemed like the best way to get to the bottom of what was going on was to finally speak to the man whose testimony landed david in prison for life. It was time to reach out to joe wilkes to be clear. I personally have not spoken to joe as you know the private investigators from proclaim justice advised me to let them do all the interviews during their preliminary investigation. Anything i may say or ask. A witness could taint their statements for the court. So john hardin wrote joe informing him of who he and danny wexler are and what they're doing reinvestigating the murder to find the truth of what happened now for i've seen between sue and joe hearing all the interviews. He's done with sue and other media. I did not think that joe would be too happy to hear from anyone plus if you remember even though he told police that he killed you on by cooperating and telling the police that david had hired him. He got a lesser sentence than david. Thirty years with the possibility of parole. Joe has already done twenty two years so he could be looking at freedom in just eight years. I figured he would have no interest in bringing all of this up again. I thought he would just wanna finish out his time and move on without any of the mass that happens every time he speaks to someone about this case and when i say mess i mean all of his conflicting statements in fact i figured he would actually send them a nasty message back telling them to fuck off or something if he even responded. But that didn't happen. Joe wrote back eager to talk and tell his story so the guys worked setting up a legal visit which proved to be next to impossible in ohio to get done in a timely manner and so we waited and waited. But in the meantime we couldn't wait time so we tracked down some other key witnesses. I

Houston Rockets, John Wall Working to Find Trade Deal

"Keith, let's start things off with John wall, a Houston rocket for now. But will not be a Houston rocket into the future. It sounds like he is going to be treatable. The rockets are hoping. They're hoping anyway. Let's get into that. What's going to happen here? The rockets, John wall working together to try to find a trade and he will not play any more games for Houston. Yeah, so this is that working together part is where it's very different from the 76ers and Ben Simmons who are not exactly working together. They're kind of working apart right now. So it sounds like by all accounts John wall has been very good in his time in Houston. He's been somebody that the younger players have really come to rely on for leadership. He's been a great leader for them. In the rockets are looking at insane. Look, we have a ton of guards that we want to play young guards to Kevin Porter junior, jaylen green, Josh Christopher, just adding in the last couple of years. Kyrie Thomas, who we picked up on a late season edition last year and he played quite well for them. So they want to play those guys. They don't necessarily want to play John wall, nor do they want to have John wall get hurt in kind of completely ruined maybe whatever little tiny modicum of trade value he may have left. There's no other way to slice this. It's 91.6 million. That he is owed. It's bad money. There's John wall would probably say at the same thing. Good for John wall for getting him what he did. And this is why you should never criticize a pointer for taking a max contract when it's offered to him. Team, other story we can have there. But at the time this contract was offered, wasn't necessarily as a bad contract. And either he's one of the first class of supermax guys to get it. So yeah, so what they're going to do is they're going to have them come to camp. He sounds like he's going to be there to kind of almost be like a glorified assistant coach. "Riding. A bicycle is a clean efficient and affordable way to get around the city but biking is not an easy option for everyone. What is needed is focused on the prioritization of racial equity with the cycling movement. Charles brown is ceo of equitable cities on urban planning policy and research consultancy based in new jersey. He says many black and hispanic communities lack bike lanes secure bike parking and adequate streetlights racial is minority groups as well as low income populations are less likely to have access to safe bicycling infrastructure. He says social barriers also persist for example in focus groups. Many black and hispanic. People say they worry about interactions with police and they have concerns of being harassed while cycle in those concerns. I've heard over and over focus groups with these populations throughout the country brown lots. Outsourcing Sales: A New Model for B2B Sales With JumpCrew Sales VP Jarron Vosburg

"This whole idea. I we're gonna dig into this. As of outsource sales as sort of a harbinger of the future sales. I think is really interested in talk about so. So wh- under what circumstances do companies want to hire you because i understand startups I find it more cost. Effective capitol efficient to outsource the whole thing may ramp faster than the way they're trying to internally but also then you work with a lot of established companies as well so so give us some use cases good question. There's a couple of key use cases that we've seen one is the startup environment where they've got product. Maybe they have a seed round of funding. They're ready to go to market. And maybe the founding team just doesn't have the interest resources or capital to do it themselves as other turn to someone like jump. Crude actually conceptualize the entire go to market strategy and build the entire playbook to to help them. They have marketing team so marketing teams are collaborators of ours. They'll help guide to strategy will collaborate as a sounding board and help bring some experience from a number of different industries that we support and then we can apply that expertise to help guide their strategy and execute on it. So that's been a huge part of us. That ability to collaborate and clearly defined swim lanes roles and responsibilities and not step on toes sets definitely a use case jump cruise model being really that integrated digital and sales component has definitely been a huge differentiator for us and so companies at that stage. Need both foreshore and so we can plug and play there. Another use cases companies that have product market have sold their product before Have seen some things that are working well but know that. There's opportunity that they're not capitalizing on. Maybe just aren't sure exactly how to capitalize on that opportunity. So that's a really great place for us to plug into usually have key. Resources already allocated to taking care of one responsibility or another disciplined. But they jump through say. Hey we've got all these leads sitting in this bucket and they're collecting dust or this legislation passed and we wanna capitalism such opportunity. But we can't hire enough so though users in that in that scenario and i'd say the other buchanan broad but the other would probably do you. It got something that they know working really well and they just got a pour gasoline on fire as they need somebody who's got the infrastructure in place technology personnel leadership experience to actually go in and take playbook that they know is working execute on that playbook velocity and then inevitably learn pretty quickly about how to fine-tune it and make it working better.

How Practicing Mindfulness Can Make Your Runs Easier and More Enjoyable

"Mindfulness helped you with with your your training like how so like like we're just like getting into like what your body's feelings you don't ever do it or does that. Mindfulness like help you with the pain. Like how did those two probably jumping way ahead of the script here but yes yes yes. ns right. So let's backtrack and just talk about what. Mindfulness is so. Mindfulness is about being fully present without judgment in the present moment. So that's sort of taking it to it's very very basic so most of us are thoughts or are on a continuum. We're either thinking about yesterday or thinking about tomorrow or thinking about at wanna do this or or with me like this is hurting. I'm bored or i'm terrible. Everybody so much better than me or whatever it is that goes through a mind. What either when you're exercising or just doing anything in life and that creates a lot of stress in a lot of tension the body but it also means you're not paying attention to the body which is really this brilliant vessel that is communicating with your brain constant lane. Letting you know when you're native something when you're a position as good or or or or beneficial when things are moving smoothly and were not but because we're so busy doing and looking outside of ourselves we don't actually pay attention to what the body's trying to tell us so the the process of being mindful which is non-judgmental awareness of the present moment. So that's like you know if you're outside and you're looking at the balloon out of the sky and then you hear that a bird singing it song and then you notice your feet on how they feel on the ground and you're just in this moment to moment awareness without judgment just simply observing witnessing if you will. So that's a meditation practice. That is a incredibly wonderful experience for anyone to do with any any time but you bring it into movement and now you've got the ability to pay attention to this brilliant body that's leading you know if and when you're in pain because you've just pushing yourself hard or you're in pain because that's actually a movement that's going to be hurting you later. So or you're noticing your breath you're noticing. How your feet or hitting the ground. Creating a rhythm and a meditation as opposed to thinking about you know a win is gonna end. And when i'm gonna get to that mile right so it's rather than focusing on on a goal on the end game. You're in the present moment so that allows you actually to go faster to go longer to enjoy it more in also be more present so that you don't get injured

The Murder Case of Yvonne Layne: Searching for the Star Witnesses

"At this point. I've been in touch with david thorne for nearly two years. David has been in prison for twenty two years for allegedly murdering his ex girlfriend yvonne lane on march thirty first nineteen ninety nine since then david has adamantly proclaimed his innocence and the bizarre murder case and conviction has been featured on multiple news tv e programs and so for the past two years. John harden danny wexler and jason baldwin from the west memphis three and his organization proclaimed justice so back on the ground in ohio. We continued our search for chris. Campbell remember john. And danny thought rose and chris were the most key people in this entire investigation chris and his girlfriend rose. Were the star witnesses at trial. Twenty-three-year-old rose an twenty one year old. Chris both testified at trial. They said they saw joe at the carnation mall around closing. They said he told them he was in town for a job and they said that job was to kill a girl. The card joe allegedly wrote his phone number on for. Chris was presented at trial to prove that joe was there with them the native the murder and at this point. We don't really question that they were all there together but what happened while they were there is what we wonder about by trial three months after the murder some details of what they remembered changed from what they'd set in their initial statements and then a bit more change between those statements. The time they took the stand six months after that rose initially said joe was in white pants and a white track jacket by trial. The pants were black. Rose also said that. The knife that joe showed them was definitely not a pocket knife. She said it was an eight inch knife in a sheath by trial it was a pocket knife. We tried to find rose on our first trip because we had many questions about her statement. We wanted to know why it changed and also about something. She told police in her tape statement. Because i'm scared for my life. Because chris campbell for me if i said anything he met me. And that's why i've been scared. His oliver nagai as race. People do things when they're scared. "lane" Discussed on Pit Lane Parley

"Welcome to another episode of Pit Lane. Parley I'm your host Mike Joke. I'm joining me this afternoon. Driving for you coz racing this year would be nate Aranda. Nate how are you in hope? Well right now. I'm doing good right. Now they unhealthy thankfully. Hopefully everybody else is listening. Right now. Healthy to yes agreed there. So you are coming off of the first road to indy. I racing series. That was six races. I think you're able to get in three. What was that? I- racing experience like you have a lot of virtual racing experience previous to the pandemic previous. Yeah I did but it took. I took about a year off. 'cause I Injured my back and I went to train in Miami. Once they started healing figured might as well get the real thing in by in the formula. Four car in Miami but I use the simulator All Twenty eighteen to twenty nineteen and it was fantastic. I loved it and it's the next best platform for training on it. So the one thing that struck me about the road to indy series was. There's like thirty seven cars every race and at trikes. Maybe don't really if thirty seven cars does that make it a little more challenging than actually being out on the check or you you kinda just don't really think about it once you get going. Well let's get going you kind of really. Don't think about it. I mean As you know as I know the fast guys the middle pack and then the the the guy is bringing up the rear. They're kinda running in their own little field right now. You know usually about second offsetting between each cars each pack. I mean And you don't really realize the cars that are out there and thankfully they limited it to twenty eight cars. That are they can grid now. Unfortunately that Kinda that. Kinda messed would be a little bit. Because I've been having some issues with my simulator and I'm not very tech savvy myself so they going into the second round I can I'm calling brick Boesak in getting everything straightened up because me that it's been sitting for about a year now and it's has a lot of lot of glitches that unfortunately resulted me. Not Qualifying for three races. I know I know Frank Rick. Motech very well from PRI a couple years ago. So shout out to frank for all he's done for the road guys and you so talking a little bit here about on call real racing but not virtual racing. You were in formula the formula cars two years ago last year you did some shift or cards and USF two thousand. But I'm curious about shifter Karts here. How tough they are in the karting world and unfortunately I have no experience in that world. So what makes a shift or car more difficult than than a regular card or you know what? What makes it different in general well to be honest Mike Experience in a ship card is is only one year. I mean I started in twenty eight. My entire racing career started carts when I was younger. I popped into the Lucas oil car. First thing you know even know what a cart was then But the Shifter Kart going into two twenty nineteen training-wise physical wise. Oh it's fantastic. It's it's it's same. Wait to speed ratio about the Formula One car. You know if you really died down the weight and died out engine but Hello you are the ground. Everything's coming so fast that you have to. You have to really be on top of your reflexes and and you know it keeps your it keeps your head straight when you can't get into You know you know as well as I know. Everybody can't be racing. Twenty four seven in the in the big formula cars. So it's the next best thing and and and I love it. Yeah they they look like a lot of fun. I looked at some youtube videos of them earlier before you and I chatted so you did one. Usf Two thousand dollars last year. Which I think was Saint Pete. If I'm not mistaken correct yes sir. Yeah yeah unfortunately that did not end too well for myself fractured my back and put me out for for about five months so when I say I've been racing for years it's been only about a year and a half actually so that was why you didn't do much racing last year. That is all making much more sense. Now Yeah Yeah but As soon as I got healed up I flew myself down to Miami. Where my my coach? Juan Arenas is and we caught in your car. In a couple of teams down there position Motorsport and earn Danilo. Actually one of the engineers for Coz has the formula fourteen there too and I ran the car. Twenty four seven. I mean I know that car inside and out now and and I'm happy that I had the time to to get into it awesome. Well I'm glad you're you're feeling better. That's definitely a scary injury. So you're jumping up to indy pro. Two thousand this year whenever we are able to get going here. What are you expecting for your debut in any to any pro two thousand are? Do you have some goals that you've set for the season? Well I honestly. I just can't wait to get back behind the wheel and I'm pretty sure that's everybody right. Now it's a racer but My goals for this year are really just to to show that you know. I can't step up to that next car. The amount of work that I put in a on and off the track really does play a role in that and I. I think that if I keep on on the same road that I am right now I can. I can map very strong showing this entire season with a championship. Winning team which is coast. So I'm very excited to run with them. Running with you and ghosts in in any series is is a good way to get some great experience in also have some great equipment so shifting gears no pun intended there slightly. We've been doing a spotify drivers in indy-car or road the playlist that we are creating you get to pick one song that you'd maybe listen to either before racer to get in the you know getting zone it lane and if you were to pick one what would it be. I probably have to be my My favorite song dancing in the moonlight like teen harvest. It's it's It gets me in the in the mode and then zoned kind of calms me. Down more than or hype out to be on. Awesome. It is now on the list obviously. We're all quarantined in home at home right now and and not able to be at the racetrack is there anything from the IRA sing world. Whether it be track characteristics or car characteristics or driving around the other guys that you'll be competing against that you're able to take to the track. Once the twenty twenty season is able to get underway. Yeah definitely learning. The tracks is a huge huge benefit for me whether or not we have strong showing there because you know you know as well as I know. There's fast guys that are not doing so good and I- racing and guys that are you know back to the field. They're doing fantastic and racing. It's it's It's hard to get used to right now but I think learning the track attracts that I will be running at is a huge benefit for myself. Because you know I was injured all twenty twenty nineteen season so I didn't get to get to run the tracks and learn the tracks. A lot of drivers lushly most of all the drivers driving against in the indy thousand are our season drivers and they they know the tracks. So I'm really grateful that I racing put together that and India's definitely put together the the whole series that we can run each every track that we're going to be running in your life. So is there one track that you're looking forward to the most that you think you're going into the weekend? I've got a really good chance to have a good result here. I think that's GonNa be Laguna Seca. That's not this week but it's around two And I'm super excited. I've had strong showings there. In Lucas oil had shrunk showing there in on on. I racing to in formula three car and I really think we're GONNA have a good time. They're awesome so. I'm going to ask a unique racing question that I've found online actually earlier this morning. If you were to pick one driver no matter if they are still driving or they drove sixty years ago. Who would be your driving teammate. And why I think it would be Nikki. Lauda be on it because the drive in the the passionate he had for the car and learning more than just being a driver actually learning the engine learning the tires suspension every single aspect about a car. I would love to just pick his brain and be able to to to sit on his wing and learn all that I love it. That's a fantastic answer. So wrap it up with a couple more questions here. I'm looking at your indy. Pro Two thousand bio and you're racing hero is another up and comer and Haley Degan so I'm curious as to your thoughts behind Haley's progress so far and what led you to her as your racing hero so you know bowl by know everybody here needs to have you know more than they can't. You can't just be fast on tracking and you. You have to have more than one outlet you have to have good social media presence everywhere and I I believe that. Hailey digging is smashed out of the park with with all her social media presence everywhere. Her Fan base is huge. And I think that that's why. Put Down as my as my racing hero because I really think that I want to evolve to get to that level one of these days and and really have a presence online that I love it yeah. Her social media is always entertaining. So actually want to give you a moment to talk about your sponsors. I I know actually most of them very well but just give you a chance here to give them a shot row quick and let everybody know where you can find more information about them. Well of course I got to pay the bills right. I like the definitely a huge shout out to craft eighteen. Sixty one so massive Cbd Company that promotes great lifestyle for my for my generation and the and the millennial It's all you know zero. Thc because you know you know as well we get. We get drug tested before before the season starts so I can't even risk having any my body and and I. I'm a huge fanatic about fitness. And I'm a huge fan about a recovery and the products that they have their line are just fantastic for for recovering daily awesome. Yeah The guys behind craft eighteen sixty. One actually didn't interview on here. I think it was the end of last racing season. So if you guys go back to. Let's say the timber October. I chatted with Eric and it was. It was a lot of fun. So wrap it up with one final question here if you could add one track to the real road indies schedule that you'd love to race at what would it be. I think it would probably have to be the number ring. Oh yes fantastic. Is Your see the road the driver's on.

"Racing. David Moluccas David. Thanks for joining me. How are you doing today? Hope everything's well. I am great. I have a lot of free time today and The next the next week as well and the next one and then yeah it's Definitely crazy time out. There hope everybody is doing well. That is listening so I'm going to jump out of order of my questions that I wrote down here but you just mentioned all that free time. I'm assuming you'll be doing some sort of Sim racing during this time and then I have two follow up questions on that same topic afterwards. The one hundred percent so I got the same. Luckily my son wasn't working properly. So I got the parts and before the krona blew up and so are they able to get a pardon Sims working? I've just been on the same like you know hours each day because I mean what else am I supposed to do? I get my homework done. I do a bit of a work out and I'm lacking right sometimes so Yeah so I've just been hanging on the sand with a couple of friends and trying to set up some races and you know talking with other people and you know this. Turn out in a school. If you do sit abrasives let us know would be glad to promoted and promoted any sort of links out there on that note. I'm assuming you're racing a an any lights type car in. Ira Sing but if you were to not use an indycar in racing and you're GonNa have some fun with another car another series. What is your what is weapon of choice right now. That's actually a good question Normally on the same. I don't have you. I only have like the open wheel. Cars like anything. That's quite close Any lights car and I normally do which they don't have any lifeguard. So I think the formula Renault three point five but all the the actual cars the cost money to think and I was like well. Maybe not doing it so much. Free Time so yeah for anybody out there. Who is I racing? Let us know. We'll share out your username. Help you organize things. And the pit lane parlay crew here will be running an xbox league for the F. One Game One of our listeners in place of Nascar heat last night which was a complete trainwreck. So we will Move on from from the SIM racing thing here. So looking back on the last few seasons started out in f-foreign. Usf Two thousand about three years ago. And you've progressed up each year. What has been the biggest reason for your continued improvement each year? So we move up here or then you you know. I went to learn into Oakland cars from go karting. We wanted to go kind of away. So when I learned you know I can be out somewhere. We I actually started in Dubai and the UAE series. You know there's a lot of time and you got to you. Know Kinda get the most of the money you're paying then. We went to Germany. You know we thought it was a good series lead of drivers there you know. I learned some race crafts but once we had enough of that when we then we came back to the US to use of two thousand and we kind of joined midseason. I think our first race was in Indianapolis or didn't go. Well I mean everything was happening. Quick and You know the team kind of just wasn't really prepared. But once wrote America came you know we did a good showing great and then we started going up the ladder and we went straight to India crunching thousand. What is call now And we did a good showing there so but my whole reason was to always move up wake was just so I can be competing with people that are older than me. You know they've had a lot more experience more. You know a lot more driving. They've done so I can learn from them so every year I go and just try to learn as much as possible for the next year. And I'm get Sean. I always start at the beginning of the year. I feel kind of like a kid and by the end of the season I just like I feel like I've grown so much with my driving and I've just been doing that every every year. So and the whole plan was to do that. And then once it gets indy lights shining lights and try to get up there. You know being in the top awesome. Yeah the the one thing I did notice looking at rails right now each step on the ladder. You had a podium finish road America back in. Usf Two thousand second place. You won both of the indy pro. Two thousand races at Road America. Then you had a sixth place in a fourth place at Road America last year. What is it about Road America? That you've been so insanely successful no matter what type of open wheel car you've been. Yeah Man I love track so I think it's because I mean ever since I was a little kid. My Dad actually used to raise and he would race in a corvette and corvette two thousand five and And so he would always go there and take me there so it's kind of like I grew up at that track and I think it's just the feeling being there you know other than you know the. Us stuff. I actually didn't drive much lapse. I always launched my dad but I guess is being dry. I guess me as a little kid and then once I get I mean. The car felt great. I felt great and everything Kinda just connected so every season I look forward to track and we just always end up doing a good showing. Yeah that's awesome road. America is one of my favorite tracks. I know a bunch of our listeners out. There live up in that area. Live and Breathe Road America so looking back to two thousand nineteen when the age. Md Motor sports kind of formed our way through the year is. It's really seemed like that's two thousand. Nineteen really took off in terms of at least being consistent every weekend top. Fives a podium. A gateway and then a couple of strong showings to finish out the year. Was it the addition of somebody like John Comiskey? Who was part of the team for that second half of the year or or something else that kind of allow you to continue to grow within the two thousand nineteen season yet so we made a lot of team changes When we did the need the name change and it was a lot of a lot of people that actually knew. You know a lot about the car and what they've been doing a they had a lot of experience and they've been there so as soon as they came in. I mean it was a big turnover and you know there's still a lot to do But there's nothing we could do like in the middle of the season but and immediately just turned better and during the off season you know they. They did a lot of prep work and they they put me and they told me a lot of information that what I need to do. And you don't coming into this for the first world. I felt great. I for a team. The connection and I think that's what we were missing in the first half of the season and now that we have that everybody just works like clockwork. I mean to me. It's just like beautiful to watch So going into the first race everybody just felt really competent and ready and I mean it seemed like we did a good showing as well and I think the one practice session that you guys had in Saint Pete you or the leader correct. Yes that is correct. Yes so that was definitely a good start there and we talked a couple weeks ago to one of your engineers. Yancey of the first age. Md AND BILLION PARLAY COMBO partner. Show What can you say about the Ansi as an engineer in how? He's able to continue to help. The team grow got time. I see because I mean he makes the car. Just it's just so like it works so well I mean and anything I can tell them. I just know it's going to be fixed like instantly. And he knows exactly what to do and to me. It's just like a unbelievable like I. I just love working with the N. T. But another good thing is with the team. You know it's yes. There's an engineer for each driver. But all the engineers worked together so Yancey Tim and Michael. They all work together and we all kind of send the room all drivers and engineers and we make up a plan together and I think that's that's what really works. 'cause I mean we get a whole bunch of different point of views and then in the end we decide on like without Maine senator to do and normally ends up being great so awesome. Yeah he was. He was really cool to talk to so. Wrap it up here with a few more questions. If you were to pick one song to listen to on a playlist pre-race to get you in the in the zone. What type of song it is is it. And and what song is it Okay well you know. I'm young so I I really liked post Malone and it had to be Go Flex I just really liked that song but I mean anything. Personal works for me. I just I love postponed. So that's Sir I know a lot of people do I can honestly say I don't know too much about him Showing my age there but I know a lot of fans out there like him. So I'll add it to our Our pre-race playlist that I still need to create for fans out there. So one non racing question here before I wrap it up with an easier question. Is there a secret talent out there? That David MOLUCCAS has that. Not many people know about I I do. Let's say I Brazilian Jujitsu. I don't know of many people know that doing it ever since I was little. So My Dad. Kinda put me into it as like you know just to. I think another workout thing for the racing to do and then I started doing it. It got pretty good and then my dad went messing around me. We kind of went with sprawl. You know in the kitchen on the floor and actually ended up putting him in a choke and then from that day on he. He'd been into Jitsu as well so And he's getting better and better the the scary one now while impressive So if you were to compete with him today can you? You can still take him right. I couldn't I couldn't hold them off but He I don't know scary. Awesome well I will take note of that as well. So a rapid up here with one final question again. Thanks for some time this afternoon. Which indycar driver would you like? You're driving style to most closely emulators. Ernie or is there any dry out there that you kind of try to? I don't WANNA say. Copy his driving style but do something similar. Give some new garden. I mean who is very consistent But I would actually say you know one of their new drivers coming up. I You know Patricia Award. I mean I've been with Simpson's go-carts and I've always watched him you know he's always been a bit older than me. But I mean hasn't done this. You've done the last season but I I think he's GonNa be doing a strong showing and I mean he's gone through the ranks and I mean I would like to be like him. I mean I. I think he's going to be doing really good. This season as well so I think Patricia would have to be a yeah. That's a great pick. We're big patio fans here so David again. Thanks for some time this afternoon. Best of luck this year whenever we do get underway Let it definitely let us know any sort of Sim racing you do if you're streaming anything. We'll we'll share out the links but It was good talking and best of luck this year man..

So my Dad Kinda put me into it as like just to like another workout thing for the racing to do and then I started doing it got pretty good and then my dad went messing around me. We kind of went with sprawl. You know in the kitchen on the floor and actually ended up putting him in a choke and then from that day on he. He'd been into Jitsu as well so And he's getting better and better the the scary one now while here. That's impressive So if you were to compete with him today can you? You can still take him right. I couldn't I couldn't hold them off but He I don't know scary airy awesome. Well I will take note of that as well. You've done the last season but I think he's GonNa be doing a strong showing and I mean he's gone through the ranks and I mean I would like to be like him I mean I.

"Just seems like they're barely hanging on being in the sports We saw how they had a consistent driver line-up last year and fortunately Actually bringing guys back didn't really lead to results with on fifteenth overall Lays nineteenth last among fulltime guys. Who'd every single race But then this year they're taking a different approach on paper. You know everything sounds good. It looks good But having multiple guys sharing a seat it gives me a lot of concern for what they automatically do. Kimball full-time and once. I think. That's a good move. And that's probably the best option. They had available out there taking the guy who has a good amount of funding but also has a lot of technical knowledge is well experiences. Race winner can bring something to that team It's the other seat. The fourteen see them very concerned about their sharing among sport. Eight Dalton Kelly Tony Kahn We saw last year with Carlin What happened in your two for their team and they switch from having Chilton and Kimball fulltime back in two thousand eighteen. They started to get some momentum toward the in that year. Twenty nineteen however different story. You had six different guys. Share two cars. There was never really any consistency. Unfortunately for them the five hundred was also a disaster with Only Kimball qualifying word. Max Chilton sitting out on that one not qualifying so it just seems like foyer. Kinda going down that similar road of you know plugging the holes to make it necessary to run two cars full time throughout the season but is it really going to be. The you know the best option for foy throughout the year. Yeah I get you have to pay bills and you have to make sure your team's GonNa be on the grid but just the lack of consistency in the fourteen car. I think concerns me that this could be kind of another repeat of Carlin From last year coming in for four this year. Do you think that with the way they're doing the fourteen car that maybe they're just trying to gain some knowledge for twenty twenty one necessarily too worried about this year. Since they're kind of wanting to rebuild everything I think if you're wanting to rebuild everything I think you want to start sooner rather than later and kind of putting I feel like they're putting off the inevitable here Cons on his way. I get doing the global race package but It just seems like they. They tried to fill these gaps as opposed to looking for the best options out. There I think with foyt The the it kind of feels like they're stuck in his transition phase like you know just every single year where they have people who come in you know whether it's a younger guy or experience guy they get you know new engineering to get new crew guys that get some new management guys. They say all the right things season comes along and unfortunately you know stuck in the back outside of you know racer to you. And it just seems like until they make wholesale changes with the team and the driver lineup That's consistent mind you because I don't feel like this is very consistent for next year They're not going to see the results that they expect. The fans want to see and I think the drivers you know. Want to see as well so out of curiosity. We've we've talked about the fourteen car quite a bit and their driver. Selections Board a I think can can bring some value to the team. Don't in cal- it. I'm I'm sure we'll be hotly debated all season to put it literally. Correct if you're going to if you're Larry Foyer. Whoever got to pick that see? And let's pretend money's not an issue here but you're picking from a young drivers perspective. Who From Indy Lights? That wasn't already signed. Let's say on the news a week and a half ago this point. Who who would you have wanted to see in that car from Indy Lights? I mean a guy who has been deserving of an indycar chance for a while and his definitely qualified. I mean it's Santee Arruda. He's the guy who I mean. I think I was surprised that he's back on the radar and participating any lights fulltime almost wonder if that would be better served. Just you know going for an any five hundred ride and seeing what happens with it because that guy is more than deserving of an opportunity and we all know just like how it is for most guys it just comes down to funding. Yeah I think that's a fair assessment. And my question I got for you now. Is You know like maybe I was a little harsh on. Don't kill it with my assessment in a couple of episodes the on our podcast and I know a couple of other people out there kind of share that viewpoint that I just wanted to get where you are at with your assessment of Dalton jumping up into Indycar To put it nicely. I think it's a stretch. I think obvious I. It's obvious that he does a solid amount of money and he's able to keep that car on the grid because of the funding but I found it interesting that Yeah he's getting the five hundred ride but it seems. Abc supplies is covering the the four and fourteen car for the five hundred. So that's not an issue. It just you would think he'd have with money he's bringing. That includes five hundred that you would have enough to basically do that car outside the orioles the fact that they brought him board a Kinda shows you there trepidation with him doing all the rest of the races and the five hundred like we're seeing some other guys like Connor daily And I think that yes. He's experiencing lights but the results don't really give you anything to suggest that he's going to be a guy who can turn it around for them. The quotes in the press. Release from where interesting to say the least and how Larry Foyt Kinda worded the move I mean I hope he's successful but I think he's kind of S- put himself not really by his choice but he's just kind of in a in a position where he said Bill. I think that's a fair point here so I'll wrap it up with one last question from myself and if anybody else wants to chime in afterwards go ahead to Tony. Kahn is racing. The five ovals this year do we see Kinan at least having a podium result in one of those final five races maybe he gets some energy reinvigorated him now that he's not doing all the race isn't can spend some extra time preparing and more than just a. I don't WanNa call it a lucky podium in gateway since he strategy worked to his favor but more than just something on strategy. I'M GONNA say no because when you're not in the car every single race I mean. He's setting himself. Elliot's set it when you're just doing like a race or a handful of races It's really tough to be in that groove. Maybe not so much on the driving side because noble I mean Tony. Kahn's a great driver. You know I think no one's GONNA disagree with that but I think as far as those random things whether it's you know pitstops or practice or you know just working yourself back from you know maybe small mistake that costs you position or two. I mean those. Are The little things if you're racing full-time you're kind of in that you're locked in and I think that will kind of be the reason that He's he's not gonNA find himself on the podium. I think you know top tons possible. Top-five definitely But I think it'll be atop ask for him to get a podium or victory lane. This season. Therapy join well. That's a great analysis and great silent. So we re appreciate you bringing that on the show here. It's all fans listening home. Thanks for listening to our second annual fan night. Hope you guys enjoyed it Should be good time. We got a lot of good indycar stuff going on right. Now in the world sets awesome and hope you enjoy the Fan Night? "Reviewing okay. Yeah but I. I don't know what to do right now because it's not normal. I am not always negative history. That's true I can do with the first question here so you know. Obviously we have the important test Tuesday Wednesday next week. This new this test or an argument concluded but do you think. Are you surprised that more teams aren't taking eighteen penske approach? Which is they're entering Scott McLaughlin. You know obviously get him familiar with card but also as an extra set of data to use. Are you surprised like a team coined? It fueled a third car for an Oriol Servia type or whoever just to acquire more data all I think in a perfect world it would be fantastic for everyone to go out with multiple cars but I think The money aspect of things definitely keeps it down especially when we're I mean it's not going to be huge discussion point since they've shown no all the teams will have the screen of some the tests. But I mean it was. It was a decision point that you know all the teams might not have the Arrow screen low test. I'M GONNA cost money to get out and see Dr Ryan but not showing up Obviously to save money Even though you know they're gonNA participated Saint Pete. They don't have any testy on a street course other than C brings so it just comes down to the money aspect. I'm sure every team would love to put five or six cars out there. But it's just not feasible Jay since you're in a positive mood. What is your prediction? For Arrow screen racing in terms of traceability are waiting to see more passes. Are the tires going to handle better than some people are expecting? What's your what's your big bold prediction. I think I'll focus more on Indianapolis Because that's where maybe the racing hasn't been the best. I think we've seen pretty racy on road and street courses lately So I don't know how those will be affected. I think the added weight. Who definitely test. Firestone what what they're able to do With their tires are obviously going to have to do different compounds and maybe play with air pressures So the tires don't just fall off completely. But I think in Indianapolis which was what Richie touched on in the interview was going to create a bigger air hole in the car following. Kind of like what we saw at the aero kids essentially is it's GonNa Punch a bigger hole which is gonNA call bigger draft In years past when you've got into the draft there hasn't been enough air going over the front wing create enough downforce. So the cars push to walk I think with the added weight to the top of the car with the Arrow screen. We're going to see the car. What's a role more? Which isn't physically roll over But it's GONNA WANNA turn more because if you if you start the inertia towards the turn then the added weight on topic the car's GonNa WanNa continue to the left so I don't think the push that we've seen in the last few years is going to create such a big issue what we've seen with the front wing creating a lack of downforce so we talked about it Recently and I just WanNa get your opinion. Do you think with the Aeros screen and everything that Going to happen with that. It's still GonNa be you know the normal Pinski Athey and ready up front or do you think it's gonNA allow them smaller teams to kind of bridge. The gap keeps going to allow the possibility of some smaller teams If they hit the setup It's not a complete reset like we saw when we went from The DWI twelve hundred zero. You know back to the Universal Aero Kit where it's pretty much complete recent. I think a lot of setups going to stay relatively the same. You're just GONNA have to move some of the GOP around which is the center of pressure. in in the caller so you either have to have more fodder more in the back to make sure the car's handling correctly and I think we see a smaller team here that You could see some better things but it's still mainly gonNA come down to the teams investment and there's the shock program Side of things isn't changing since we haven't seen the overall Arrow of the car just added a lot of weight and another another air deflection device essentially calling disturbance turtles. So COLLINA. Get Your Teigen's take a step back here. As far as air screen is a whole. Where do you weigh in on traditionalism versus involving the safety of the sport? Oh and you had me positive there for a little bit test obviously her. Yeah from a traditional standpoint. I'm GonNa miss the open cockpit I'm I'm a traditionalist I'm gonNA miss that part of it And from the front of the car honestly their on screen looks terrible from the side. It doesn't look it doesn't look as bad kinda cool like a fighter jet But we cannot continue having driver injuries. And if there's something we can do to alleviate that and I'm one hundred percent behind You know we're not running front engined roadsters anymore on dirt You love sugar in you. Know I'M NOT GONNA draw and I'm not gonNA namedrop anybody but you know we've we've evolution is things. There's been things in the past that I'm sure people like. Oh we can't do that and and things like that so I'm interested to see where the future goes. I would have been more interesting to see just the screen itself not the halo integrated into it because I think that was a much cooler looking design. Obviously structurally something might not must not have worked there so we got what we got our. We're going to keep Evolving this obviously four So I'm excited to see what the future of any cardinals with safety tried to keep that positive. Yeah well done so on the source sort of like what mad asked we've seen some cars on the Arrow screen at the top have some sponsorship logos. We saw pageant have his name up there which looked kind of cool. What do you think more sponsorship or a place for driver name? I think if you've got a sponsor that wants to throw their name there and give you some money you should go for it But I do Kinda miss where we used to be when we had the huge rear wings where you put the name on there because not everyone can just identify. That's the day Glo Yellow for you know pageant or And things like put on the driver's name out there definitely makes sense. I think for teams in a little bit smaller that are scraping for every Dime that they can maybe finding a sponsor with a couple thousand dollars throw up their better. But I don't think he's really scraping by so make sense for them to put their names. UP THERE TO GET MORE. Dr Recognition And so you can you know in the middle of a race Because not everyone watches on TV. I don't know where the led's are up this year So it's you know. The numbers are nearly impossible to see when you're on us when you're on Oval So just to give some identification you know at speeds the two hundred and some miles an hour that they're going to be okay so. I am just curious because you went a little negative but you didn't know too bad for good jobs but you're saying it's not aesthetically pleasing currently gee you think with a new chassis. That's going to change. Do you think it's GonNa look better blend into the car more. Do you think it's going to be an eyesore? I hope they can blend in more But I think we need the want it to look super cool. And all this How many direct angles from the top front? We get to see If you're either. Outta RACE OR WATCH ON TV. A lot of them aren't From that angle There's been a Lotta pictures showing like that kind of show the way it looks so I'm not sure and I'm not sure how speed it's GonNa look either at speed it. Maybe it just looks fantastic and the bulkiness from the front won't matter but I'm definitely hoping that The front of the car looks better on. Yeah for sure Joe We just want to say thanks for coming on. And it was a great topic. We hope to see you at attract Bunch and May and we appreciate you listening every week and being it's a team member so we appreciate everything you do. Hope to see you around the seer. Yeah absolutely you know. I'll be out there as much as I can in. May and I'm hoping to get to some other races and Find some good like Marco underwear to put on my head and ask about that lucky underwear yet or I search Ebay and Amazon An all I could find was a tape of Marcos highlights which are about thirty five seconds so I think I need to. I need to be done little video editor and start putting together some of Marko's best moves And then we might. We might find something here maybe to design my own underwear and Put It on the pit-lane partly citing people can buy mark over race. When you say some Marcus best moves. Do they have youtube videos from like eight nine years ago on Youtube Yeah I was watching some stuff the other day from. Oh six and you know two thousand nine feet. He used to highline really well at Texas on now. He just uses the low line that everyone passing. But I still Love Marco. Still my favorite driver. we just gotTa get going here because it's getting real hard to defend some ever accused you being a bandwagon fan. I guess so. We'll give you data is correct. All right well. Thanks for joining us. And we'll see this here all right and last but certainly not least. We're fortunate to have Caleb from his twitter at Indycar podcast not a good podcast because what could check one out. They do some good stuff over there. SO CALEB. Thanks so much for joining us and for fans at home. Don't know you kind of describe how you got into racing or yet I saw. Thanks for having me I grew up in Indianapolis so it's just kind of always been there. I remember going to track as a little kid on field trips and going to practice and qualifying and I had to wait a little while for my first race day but Just kinda something. That's there I don't really know how I clicked for me because I remember being afraid they were so loud back in the day when I'll go look it but Here I am and just love following this sports meaning people who love the sport and talking about the sporting chance I can get. That was also fear. I had as a kid. So don't worry about that. That's something I I was in the same boat too all right. So what's the topic? Hebron the show you'd like to discuss this. Well probably are one of our favorite topics on our podcast. New Track Record Aj fleet racing I just WANNA say before I get into all this. We both wish them ultimate success because I think their success would be Phenomenal for the series. Not only just for the team but for fans I mean. I think everyone wants to see that team be successful and win races. You know on a year in year out basis But with the way things are going over the past.

"At a track and up next on fan night. We have one of our favorite people his name is Michael Goody a good ear also known as Frenchy Suv. Anybody catch out as I said we have a fan question from Franci. He shall henceforth known as French. Eat so just if we say that in future. This is the famous celebrity. We got here. His twitter handles at 'em good gear double o seven. Michael Iran with US last year. We appreciate you coming on again this year. for those who don't remember just kind of talked to us about you know how you got into the sport and you know and he just personal facts about yourself. Yeah well I'm glad to be back on again. it's always fun to get the chance to participate in your favorite weekly podcast So thanks for having me on your That's my specialty. The pilot I get into this fourth I STARTED OUT GETTING INTO FORMULA. One actually and I am so I really got into like the seventies and eighties Formula One Much Coward Youtube for all the old writers that I could find. That weren't like ridiculously terrible quality and that led me to modern. Formula One but I got a little bit tired of hybrids and Lewis Hamilton. Winning all the time so open-wheel racing in America Started to appeal to me especially because on the Baltimore races around That was an event that I could actually attend and check out a rate so the INDYCAR was number one. Yes the two thoughts about that. I we actually just say Christian dinette. Ski On is our first guest and he kind of the same thing like you know. His family isn't a Formula One first. And then got to indy cars. That's pretty cool. And then second given that you're Frenchie I can't let you go without asking. You know if I'm having a certain type of French wine what she's ago best with that because I know just would appreciate this kind of insider frenchie knowledge or real I'm just GONNA say greer. That sounds the most French to me and I. That's just the best answer ever witnessed any better. That is awesome. You're just a treasure aright anyways beside French cheeses and all that stuff What did you want to discuss on the show today? Well I wanted to talk about the lack of younger team owners and specifically I was thinking about George Steinbrenner the fourth as an example Being that even though he's in the series he's sort of under that. I'm Andretti umbrella now and He came in. I really thought he was going to be like the natural successor to to be the next Roger Penske but he was perfectly poised to be that guy because he seemed so clean cut and he has its background at least in terms of his family But it seems really hard for the team owners to get their feet and I am a little concerned about that. With some of the team wonders getting older and we talk about the younger drivers replacing the old guard and I think about in terms of team owners that I don't see that happening naturally so great. Great Point I think George Steinbrenner being under Andretti might not be a bad thing in the grand scheme of things. Because he's what twenty four now. I know his younger than all of us. So who better to learn from them one of the best team owner so I think in the end you know he could definitely branch often and be his own team owner and be the next broader penske. Since it's he's he's got a long career ahead of him but it is very interesting that outside of George Steinbrenner. There aren't a whole lot of young owners that you could really look to. I'm trying to do some research so I'll let you guys talk while I keep looking you. Think the lack of younger owner's is due to the financial aspects of Coming into the theory. It'd be a good point. Just considering it probably takes longer for people to accumulate the wealth necessary to do that initial investment into indycar. And maybe you're not going to be taking it seriously if you're a younger person Who Somehow made it rich like a an instagram influencers? Something who decides to dump their fortune an INDYCAR. Seeing these people are GonNa look at you as more flaky and not exactly trust investing with you and I can see it being hard and even if you what they were I dunno born in old money or whatever I could see it being difficult just because people still look at you as very young and maybe an experience so they wouldn't want to invest in you yet either down One thought that I had was. I'm like five or six years ago. Someone pointed on twitter's Saying now any cars basically just a racing series that former drivers enter cars. Because you know we had chicken. Ascii Roger Penske was a former driver. Jimmy Vasser Michael Andretti. Dale Coyne how those kind of goes on and on and it wasn't really kind of like a there's no like mercenary type owners out there. That would just start it up for business venture and since then you know you got mike. Harding Carter Yukos Carlin as a couple of examples so I think we have come a little bit of a ways in that area but do you personally think that indycar could be doing anything more to kind of facilitate any new ownership coming to the STAR team. I like the story that I just heard about. Roger Penske stepping in to help eligible dragon speed. Get that Chevy engine deal so that sort of speaks to me that. Yeah we're trying to actually get new people into the series and using that inaction to really do it I mean I guess you have to have people sort of stepping in to be able to help them and give them that Helping hands in a way but That's a lot to me about encouraging younger. And you're team owners to come in and be full time and really get things going. I have to potential younger road to indy team. Owners that I think would be good indycar team owners one who has expressed interest one. I'm not too sure of but a Michael Don calf who runs exclusive autosport Stepped up to indy lights. This year. I know within a couple of years. He wants to be in Indycar. Think he's in his late thirties or early forties. So He's not George Steinbrenner young but he's still on the on the younger side and then pabst racing President Augie paps. Who is the great great great great grandson of the GUY who founded paps? Ruin Company would be my pick Because who who doesn't beer But he is also in his late thirties or early forties. I believe that would be awesome. To see a PAP sponsored INDYCAR. I feel like there was one back in like the card days. But you can't picture it but to see pats on the side of a car like TV are all over. The decided might as well just have a water sponsor. That point colors and Bo would. It would look a conic but man I mean surely we can do better than PBR. I guess I wouldn't. I wouldn't complain at all. I mean that'd be. I still think it'd be awesome even though even if my personal differences with PBR yet. Fair is You know it's not the best thing it's more of a college beer but you know any sponsors that we can get always cool And yet it's nice to see that kind of industry comeback in right but that's a whole another topic so I got one here with. It was about a couple of years ago. You looked at the indy-car grid and you saw that. There was about twenty three ish fulltime cars but you know three teams fielded half the field in Penske Ganassi and Andretti autosport. Do you have in your head? You have kind of like a rough idea of you. Know what the perfect team to car ratio would be like. Would you want? Twenty-five cars fulltime fielded by ten teams teams dessert. Kind of a ground. That Andy Kershaw aiming for. I feel like you don't necessarily need to be like formula. One where you can only have a maximum of two entries per team because that stunks growth But your point is good about three teens. Kind of monopolizing the grid So yeah I feel like maybe eight teamed nineteen because what about you know three ish cars to three cars per team and that'd be pretty good pretty even. Maybe you have some one car teams in there some four-car teams but nobody with like the seven. That we are going to see with Andretti. Indy sure how many how many Andretti cars there were when I was talking about that on this past week episode real quick before I let Matt sign this off the other team that I thought could be a good fit eventually. Would Be Cape motorsports. They've been in the road to indy dominating. The roads Andy for many years they actually just moved up from to Brown's Burg's so I don't know if that's the sign of bigger things to come but would be an interesting fit and I believe the brothers that own the team are are on the younger side. I don't I don't exactly know that one for sure yet. I don't know how Brian Balodia too. But you're making some good connections between the younger road to indy owners and hopefully moving up in the next few years as they. I guess as we transition to the next car so that they can really get in on the beginning. Investing in many chassis blurred is a good one. I didn't think about and I'm hearing that he will be part of the indy. Five hundred again. This year like last year is kind of an associate owner. So good things to come. Yeah anyone dipping. Their toe in is always positive to see and as long as you don't see teams step back so it's it's cool. That Carlin is on the grid even though we have one TV that we're GONNA see at You've revealed but at least they're in a series bill and have you might thumbs up to that. Yeah for sure all right Frenchie. Thanks so much for joining US Michael goody everybody give them a follow twitter very valuable team piddly member of ours and we really appreciate all of his insights in this. Chats is a group so Frenchie. Thanks so much for joining us in hopes that attracts here. Yeah thank you up to the you guys that attract too. I'm planning on attending several rain. So what's meet up for sure. Thanks man and next up on Fan Night. We have one of our good friends. Jake neely at Indycar Fan. Twenty-five we do give jake a rough time for being a Marco Fan. But we won't hold that against him for the next ten minutes. Jake how you doing and for those who don't remember on. Fan I last year. So thanks for joining us Kinda described to fans at home on how you got into racing. Maybe factor to let yourself Well I'm doing. Well thanks for having me on again guys. I appreciate it What got me into racing. Mainly my family was huge. Rates fans And I don't know how when you go to a track and CV's cars You don't just fall in love with it so You know went to hundreds. We used to go to Michigan When it was a five hundred lawyer and just went races and in love with it and became the fan. I am now About me Huge Marco Fan Everyone should know and I was Michael Fan. Before Marco Fan So I guess it. Kinda plays into it Just gotTa stay within the family. So I'm Kinda stuck. Yes Oh What did you want to discuss on the show today Well the Arrow screens obviously a big topic of discussion with the season on. I know a lot of it's been like the cooling things But listen to the Santino Richie interview. He talks about the race ability and the affected by Avon. The Arrow and adding more weight into the top of the car means the car wants to roll more So I wanted to discuss the effects. It might have on the racing More from a positive aspect which might surprise some people. Because you know.

"Host Mike and jess with us for our second annual fan night Really happy we're doing this again. Worked really well as time in On the show we are going to have five guests. Join US and we're GonNa talk about various segments and kind of turn keys over them for the talk for a little bit and discuss whatever topic they're bringing on the show so we're really excited. I up we have Christian to Nevsky. Who is a team pit lane member? We really appreciate all this or end his insights in our group chat going on Christian. How you doing? And how did you get into Indycar the fan? Hey how's it going? I'm doing well myself So I was always a racing fan growing up. My Dad. Got Me into it He came from Europe. So we were really a Formula One family for for a while there and then We went to the races the speedway And then once they left. Who kind of had this like This gap period where we had to bridge and one year. We went to the Racy Kentucky and I on love ever since then I mean the speed and the close proximity the racing on my blood pumping and some day. I'll never forget and kind of quick Just for you on spot. Do you think any ever go back to Kentucky. Years is kind of a lost. Cause I if you're asking me for my personal opinion just out of like I don't know my own pleasure. I would love for them to go back but I don't foresee that happening. You know the management indy-car is always pushing that They're only interested in tracks that are interested in them And that make financial sense and are viable for long term success and unfortunately I don't think he's really in a position to provide that I would love for that change and if they one day announcer going back I'll be the first one to get the tickets. Awesome all right. So what's the topic that you wanted to discuss this today so I wanted to bring up in touch on the championship. Point System I want to preface this by saying that I have no over glaring issues with it apart from I think maybe double points could be done away with but I know there's been some discussion mostly by double points but Just about exploring what how the chamber might look if we look at it from a different Lens through different points system. So what I've done is I've gone back on the twenty nineteen championship and I- recalculated the points Minus the bonus points too lazy to do that but based on the cart point system and Kind of taking a look at how how it shakes out from reverting back to that system I saw your tweets about it a couple of weeks ago. I think and it looked really interesting so I'll let you what what would be the top five for. I don't know if you look at twenty nineteen years. He looked at but I'm curious to see what your what your data showed. Yes so I just did it. Based on twenty nineteen but The the twenty nineteen final standings as as the point system San today was a new garden passionate Rossi Dixon power or the top five while based on the cart system is same top five. You notice that has no drops down to fourth place And Rossi moved up to second in Dixon to the third Which I think is a bit more indicative of the season. That paget had by no means. Was you know a bad season? Who's very consistent and the top ten most most races But he had the three wins. Obviously then you five. Hundreds of huge one And the the fourth odium at Pocono but aside from that He he really stayed around fifty place so I think a fourth place. Finish shoes pose. The second was probably more fitting for the season had and Rossi and Dixon how they had you know they were more consistent in the top five and had more podiums. I think that showing deserves them second and third in the championship avenue. I HAVE ONE MORE QUESTION BEFORE. Just Matt Jumps in a for those who might not remember the old scoring system. What was the scoring system for the say the five points that you went off of I would honestly have to bring that up for you. I don't know exactly. I was taught my head but it was something like top twelve points Top finishers got points and anybody outside. The top job didn't whereas that's different from today where everybody gets points and I believe top five something along the lines of like twenty for the winner in like fifteen twelve ten eight or something along those lines. It's twenty sixteen. Fourteen twelve ten by remember. I I mean I've I've I've just like am I in the past. I would do the same thing. I was stuck TAK- years results in converted into car systems too so Christie not alone. I've done it before too so out of curiosity. Do you think that if they converted back to that point system but added points for people who finish lower than twelve? Do you think that would be okay or do you only want the top well to get point So one thing actually do really like about the current point system. Is it kind of encourages? People never to give up on a race so If we look back for example at I win twenty fifteen with Scott Dixon. I remember the issue he had. But you had some issue with the car and You know the guys in the garage scramble together and got the car ready back out and he was able to jump a few positions and gain some points there So you know to a normal. Just Paschel watcher. They're not going to really know what's going on like they're gonNA ask well. Why is he doing that? But you know it's all of US RACE FANS. We know exactly what's happening and he gained his extra points and then fast forward. It's snow at the end of the year you went to Chaim chip on a tiebreaker. And you can look back to Iowa how they got the car back out there and we're able to get some points Even though is lower finishing position so that's one thing I do like about the current point system That I if if it's possible to integrate back would be interesting. I I agree. I feel like everybody should get some sort of points and like you said if if you get back out again and they can make or break your season on so I do like that aspect of the current branch system so doing a research obviously settled on the cart point system. That was really popular in the late eighties and nineties. Did you at all consider maybe looking at and I know this is kind of absurd but the old Usak owning scoring system. Where if it was like a five hundred mile race you get six million points and it was like a four hundred mile race. You got three and a half million points for I you know. I always thought that was hard to fall. But did y'all analyze you know that scoring system and then actually champ car Increase the points so like first place to get thirty second sound like twenty seven or someone did you were you firmly entrenched on the cart point system as what you analyze this the best quote unquote So I didn't necessarily do something to optimize it one way or the other But I just kind of pick the cart system. 'cause I knew that was like A big big one. Obviously and then I also did off the Formula. One point system just for fun So no I haven't explored those other ones but you've given me some action item so I'll get to those in the back you those all right well. The Usak One's a little hard to look at a book report due in fact. I have one more question here. And this is more just Your opinion and I know we discussed this on this show. New Asama recently. If you were to keep double points which you keep it at. Just Indy. Both indy and Finale. Or would you get rid of it altogether? I think I would get rid of it altogether I understand the importance of waiting. Five hundred as as an important race But I think there's other aspects of the event that that do that for five hundred And I you know I. I think it's a bit unfair to some people who like if you know if you have one bad race right and he picks any of the other fifteen races. You're you're losing one race worth of points but if it just happens to come at indy or Laguna and You know it's it's circumstances that aren't you know out of your hands. You know that that seems to be unfair to me so I would like to see it. Just done away with altogether But I also do understand the motives behind. It had your way. Would you go back to the old plant Like entirely or would you create a totally new point for them? What like what kind of ideal points to seventy you have in your You know I don't really have any glaring issues with the current point system Double points isn't something that keeps me up at night but If they come to a point where they say. Hey we're going to do with it. I think that'd be good for the series but You know if anything I maybe hybrid too because like we mentioned I I do. Enjoy the fact that you know people can get a few extra points you know from the from the battery so they have and there could potentially affect the championship at the end. So I think that's pretty interesting aspect of it awesome awesome. We Really We really appreciate you coming on the show Excellent I guessed I loved the topic is really good inception you so Christian yen. Thanks so much for for listening every week for being team member. We really appreciate it and I hope CNN attract this year. Yeah thanks. Thanks so much for having me on. It's been black. Thanks man thanks man and up next. We got Andy Jones who is on twitter at Andy Jones. Six seven zero four Andy so much for joining us on Fan night here and for submitting a bunch of questions last couple of weeks. We really appreciate that. Just kind of tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into racing. Yeah I I live here in Indiana. So racing's Andy. The indy five hundred was kind of always been something in my life My family started going in the fifties grants all with my mom and my aunt and my grandma will get five hundred. Added my uncle as the son-in-laws He started backing away. My parents are backing away when they had my sister and I but man has always been going I think she's on her forty fifth year or something of going to the five hundred straight We lived in Anderson so they would always park there pop-up camper in our backyard to camp out before the five hundred so that's always kind of been something in my life and then my first real five hundred experience was nineteen eighty nine listening to the race in my parents on the radio. And after that I've just been hooked was eighty-nine junior versus Fittipaldi at the end. Yeah that's a good one to get hooked on. I'll tell you that man. I wish I would have been my first indy. Five hundred. That's awesome. Yeah that's really cool. Cool background and A. What did you want to come on the show and discuss discuss with us? Well I WANNA talk. You guys talked about great more a couple of weeks ago. I thought that's kind of I've been thinking about that. Also what happens if he had survived and actually raced in? Where would we were would be looking at? What drives would have changed? What kind of records would have been changed? That whole thing where his career would have been as he survived that crash in nineteen ninety. Nine all right once you lead us with this dance party..

"The engine ears now for H.. MD Motor sports as we start our year partnership with them in two thousand twenty UNC. Thanks for joining Jessen. I how you doing today. Good how are you good so I will start with the first question here and then just we can just alternate back and forth so last year from what I understand. You were Rena. Speak as engineer as he starts his rookie season in Indycar what can you tell us about. Arenas as a person and as a driver I mean Rena says extremely the A very motivated person. I guess you could say Just you know ex- very focused on his goal of of winning and and excelling at everything that he does so he's he's just you know extremely motivated as a driver He's he. He's very very very talented. I think he'll do very very well. INDYCAR series car will will suit him. Just says the indy lights car and everything else that his driven he hit APPs very well to everything so I I see a lot of success for him next year. Awesome so this coming season What kind of expectations do you guys have? I mean we're building up a The team With some very good people and we're bringing you know very good drivers with David and Sandy And hopefully we're we'll sign a third it at some point here and I mean the expectations are to to do as well as we did. Last year Or as well as I guess I did last year and as well as The other engineer Tim has done in the past. We come with the great experience and we We want to continue and and to win. So yeah the expectations are definitely to win the perfect. I like it so on that note. You were with unions last year H. M. D. This year What is your racing background? How'd how'd you get started in the engineering side of things to where you are today? Yeah sure so when I was younger I mean I was always involved in in racing of some sort. I raced go karts when I was younger. I've always been involved with cars. My father was a owns a Runs a mechanical shop. And you know cars were were pretty much everything of that. I ever knew So we I did a lot of go kart racing and as I you know as you get older you wanna start racing the cars and you know unfortunately I never. I really had to budget to race cars so as soon as I started realizing you know. I don't think I'M GONNA make it budget wise to move up I already started engineering school. That that at university and And then from there I started working for race teams in the summers and then once I graduated university I started working fulltime in enriching and Devon stopped since I guess awesome so before you ghost which which we'll teams if you work for I've worked before I was at Andretti. autosport for seven years and then prior to that I done I raced with numerous engineered for numerous teams including foresights racing walker racing Andersen racing Number of different teams Aim autosport was where I started everything out. I was with them for seven years. So Great Canadian team and I'm Canadian. So it was a great stepping stone for jumping in there so just continue ban with several teams. Then have quite a history. What do you think is your favorite memory and racing favorite memory? I mean when I engineered Matthew Matthew Back Grab them and twenty thirteen. We won thirteen out of fifteen races or something that year. I mean we could do nothing wrong and I I would probably be. You know the the highlight of of my career in terms of you know just winning so much was just a lot of fun. You know so So that's probably the best memory I I would say. Nine speaking spoke spoke about David Lukas and Santeria a couple of minutes ago. You competed against them last year. And I imagine you compete against Sandy over the past couple of years years. What can you tell everybody out there listening about the drivers that now you're responsible for so I mean Santee is definitely a hold nothing nothing nothing back? He's always you know a hundred and twenty percent especially on track when during the races. He's never holds back which is great and I I think he'll continue where he left off And hopefully have the success and go after the the the championship. And then David I I mean I he. He had a bit of an up and down season last year. And I feel like if we can keep them on the upside I think you'll have a lot of success as well. I mean he had some good races at Coda and gateway last year. And I think with the you know with some more guidance and a little bit more you know Stability in terms of staffing and and everything. I think he can be very very very good as well. What race are you most looking forward to coming theory then I mean obviously. I was looking forward to my home race in Toronto. That's where I live and that's where I've always I've gone to that race almost every year of my life so that's probably the highlight obviously the other race. You always look forward to the freedom. One hundred it's it's one that you know I've I've finished second or third the last four or five years in a row here for the last four years here. So It's one that I still need. I I really really want to win and and I'm hoping this year will be the year fingers press that we will see you in Victory Lane yes exactly so on on kind of a similar note there from a from your perspective which track is the most difficult to set up a car for difficult. I mean every track has its challenge. I don't think there's one in particular you have. It's sometimes you have really really good success that one and you try to you. Know use the same meant the same philosophy the the next track and and it doesn't work quite a workout quite as well. So it's it's hard to say I guess for from the pushing. The driver Wise Street circuits are always a lot tougher. Because you really the drive. A really neat the push the limits of the walls Retaining the track so Just having having a driver that's GonNa push that in pushing the driver to to you know reach. Those limits is probably the biggest challenge I guess for street circuits so probably street circuits. I would say yeah I I can. I can see that so I'll wrap it up here with just a few more questions Just if you WanNa jump in just let me know as an engineer. What are your main responsibilities? Aunts abilities both at the track and then in the shop when you're not at the Yeah so at the track. I mean obviously Trying the sessions in terms of you know time management making sure the setup is is right and and making changes to make to progress the the car and have the driver. I feel you know that he can give one hundred percent So that's at the track At the workshop. It's it's all about you know preparation for the upcoming event It's all about analyzing you know what was good and what was wrong with the previous events So there's a lot of you know what we call post. Event Analysis assistant out of pre event. Crap that goes on so things like that and then obviously going through What went went wrong in terms of on the car what we can improve between events on the car is something that we always work closely with team manager and the And the mechanics with so yeah cool so oh looking back on your long career to date. Is there one kind of career. Highlight that you put on your metaphorical trophy trophy case. That you look back on all the time very fondly. I guess probably like I said the the Matthew Brabham twenty thirteen year where we won so many races. That's that's one that definitely stands out Last year with Rina's was probably another another standout year where You know we won a number of races we were we were extremely extremely dominant. The last you know two three races and you know the championship slip away due to a penalty really at road. America America so Things like that I guess would stand out awesome. Will all wrap it up here with one more question again thanks for joining us for for short. HMD Chat before the season starts. You've got preseason testing at homestead soon. Right yeah. We're testing on February twenty first at instead. Yeah okay so next next weekend I couldn't remember if it was before or after the indy-car test so when you go into a couple of tests with David Santee and hopefully a third driver fingers crossed. What are your main goals is a getting? I believe you guys will have the frontal protection device that any car have assure this year on car is drivers used to that and kind of just getting a feel for the Indy Lights Carson. Santa He's been out of it for a little over a year now. Eso We've already done a bit of that. We tested at sea. Bring a couple of weeks ago so we we have and we had the frontal protection on the car. So both David and Santee not got to experience that I think it's you know the test like homestead It's kind of a mixed bag. Where homes that is viewed as both road course industry circuit? There's bumpiness it but really It's probably more of a road course. So just I guess implementing some of the some of the the setup items items that you know I. I've run in the past there and combining that with what the other engineer tim has run in the past. I think taking those two and and molding dumb together to come up with the best setup so I think starting with a baseline that we know and then adding the items that we feel would would would be a upbeat glossy and testing those drivers and trying to develop you know the very best setup is Kinda goal of tests like that so yeah awesome well enc we will. We'll let you go. Oh good luck in all season testing and we look forward to seeing you down at the track in in Saint Pete. And that's the luck this year. Thank you very much and thanks for having me no problem. How good Good weekend all right thank you and..

That's where I I live and that's where I've always I've gone to that race almost every year of my life. So that's probably the highlight. Obviously the other race you always look forward to the freedom one hundred. It's one that you know. I've I've finished second or third the last four or five years in a row here for the last four years here. So It's one that I still need. I I really want to win and and I'm hoping you know this year will be the year fingers press that we will see you in Victory Lane. Yes exactly so on on kind of a similar note there from a from your perspective which track is the most difficult to set up a car for difficult I mean every track has its challenge. I don't think there's one in particular you have. It's sometimes you have really really good success that one and you try to you. Know use the same meant the same philosophy for the next track and And it doesn't work quite a workout quite as well. So it's it's hard to say. I guess for from the pushing the driver Wise Street. Circuits are always a lot tougher because you really. The driver really needs to push the limits of the walls Retaining the track so Just having having driver that's GonNa push that in pushing the to to you know reach. Those limits is probably the biggest challenge. I guess for street circuits so probably street circuits. I would say yeah I can see that so I'll wrap it up here with just a few more questions Just if you WANNA jump in. Just let me know as an engineer. What are your main responsibilities? Both at the track and then in the shop when you're not at the Yeah so at the track. I mean obviously Trying the sessions in terms of you know time management sure the setup is is right and and making changes to make to progress the the car and have the driver feel you know that he can give one hundred percent So that's at the track At the workshop. It's it's all about you know preparation for the upcoming event It's all about analyzing you know what was good. And what was wrong with the previous events So there's a lot of you know what we call post. Event analysis a lot of pre event. Crap that goes on so things like that and then obviously going through What went went wrong in terms of on the car what we can improve between events on the car is something that we always work. Closely with team manager and the And the mechanics with so yeah cool so looking back on your long career to date. Is there one kind of career? Highlight that you put on your Metaphorical trophy case. That you look back on all the time very fondly. I guess probably like I said the the Matthew Brabham twenty thirteen year where we won so many races. That's that's one that definitely stands out Last year with Rina's was probably another another standout year where You know we won a number of races we were. We were extremely dominant. The last you know two three races and you know the championship slip away due to a penalty really at Road America so Things like that I guess what stand out also will all wrap it up here with one more question again. Thanks for joining us for for a short. Hmd Chat before the season starts. You've preseason testing at homestead. Soon right Yeah we're testing on February twenty first at homestead. Yeah Okay so next next weekend. I couldn't remember if it was before or after the indy-car test so when you go into a couple of tests with David Santee and hopefully a third driver fingers crossed. What are your main goals is a getting? I believe you guys will have the frontal protection device that any car have assure on car is getting the drivers used to that and kind of just getting a feel for the Indy Lights Carson. Santa He's been out of it for a little over a year now. Eso We've already done a bit of that. We tested at sea. Bring a couple of weeks ago So we we have and we had the frontal protection on the car so both David and Santee got to experience that I think. It's you know the test like homestead It's kind of a mixed bag. Where homes that is viewed as both road course industry circuit? There's bumpiness to it but really It's probably more of a road course. So just I guess implementing some of the some of the the setup items that you know. I. I've run in the past there and combining that with what the other engineer. Tim has run in the past. I think taking those two and and molding them together to come up with the best setup so I think starting with a baseline that we know and then adding the items that we feel would would would be a big plus and testing those drivers and trying to develop you know the very best setup is Kinda goal of tests like that so yeah awesome well. Enc We will. We'll let you go good luck in all season testing and we look forward to seeing you down at the track in in Saint Pete. And that's the luck this year. Thank you very much and thanks for having me no problem. How good Good weekend all right thank you..

"Going to come out with guns blazing in ready to go to answer before I give my answer to mets question. Oliver skew won both of the code races last year. So he did okay. There and I know both races. The second race wasn't particularly close but the first race had some pretty good has his back and forth between him and Rina's Vk so who will surprise. I am going to a good question. I'm GONNA say Zag Feature I think Zach is going to put last year behind a behind him and and just and really start to improve. Maybe it'll be good test again. It's just a test so Testing doesn't necessarily mean he's going to have a great year but I think he's GonNa start out the year strong and hopefully that that leads to a better here than last year. Who Will Struggle? I'm wondering how the added way of the Arrow screen will affect a driver like to Masada. I'm wondering if that might kind of hamper his noattacks no chance style and he might take a little bit longer to figure out in Car Sett- or different things how to handle the the tires with the extra weight on be car. I could say that it's interesting. That all right so our next and last fan questioned tonight comes from Andy Jones off of twitter. He wants to know who is Indie hers. Next breakout star. I will go first here. I'm going to Kyle Kirkwood. I know he's not guaranteed to be in. India Carson sees a in delights this year. He just signed the a deal with Andretti for the number twenty eight car which was won the championship. Like the last three years now or two years but since Kyle started his open wheel career on in the F. Sixteen hundred series in twenty fifteen is one forty seven races so he he just. He always wins. He came on a he had to come back in restless. Linden the indy pro two thousand championship last year after back and forth for the first two thirds of the year. But but he did it in one. I think eight or nine times last year so he just wins. He wins everywhere he goes so my pick is coker would only go with Rasmussen Lind. I don't have the statistics in front of me. Unfortunately but I just have been following him for a couple of years now and he's just a name that's been constantly popping up and constantly succeeding so really looking forward to seeing house critter pans out and fingers crossed things. The right way for him But hopefully one day we could see a talent like Because I just think it's just GonNa have this feeling. Sometimes some of these drivers that you know their names popping up named popping up the knee keeps popping up and awesome there in any car. They're making a name for himself. So fingers crossed for restless. I'll help you out there because I had his name up in case. I didn't get to go first arrest miss last year finished. Second in the standings like I mentioned and never finished outside of the top. Five in indy pro in any race in two thousand in twenty eighteen. He finished second in the standings as well so very good consistent couple of years there so I'm sorry. Just finish a deal signed yet. No but the rumor is that he will be up. Any Lights. Most likely could okay. So I'm actually GONNA PICK SOMEBODY. Who's already in indycar? I'm GonNa Pick Marcus Ericsson him. I feel like moving to a more prominent team going to give him that extra push To kind of get over can a little nerve set. He had last year which he did talk about a few times and I also think that having a season under his belt now he's he's going to be ready to go so I think he is going to avoid that sophomore slump and he's GonNa come out of the gates ready to fight good answer Definitely that answer there so we will continue on with it. Falls sponsored by our friends at court brew coffee thanks to them for keeping. Us alive during the twenty four hours are this weekend of course. Abreu DOT com tailored to the motor sports world that captures the essence of speed power and Adrenaline Promo Code He LP twenty twenty four ten percents off your order on their website and repeat lane parlays pitfalls the week. Talk all right with that. Being said speaking of the Rolex twenty four by it fall is going to be such a week penalty on the fifty five Mazda Car. That had the contact with Early in the race I think about four hours in if I'm not mistaken by my issue is in that it was just a drive through penalty but it but it was. It was just a drive through penalty and then Ryan Briscoe penalty on it. Lane toward the end of the race was a sixty second. Stop IN HOLD FOR FAILING TO STOP AT. The red light on pigs that under yellow flag? The the two just don't seem to make any sense to me now. Somebody with more experience can explain to me. Maybe it does make sense but from everybody I talked to. They were equally baffled. Yeah kind of hard to have much more of an opinion than that until I kinda get the rules in front of me but it seemed a little bit skewed to me. Also general them for me is if makes confuse probably be confused kind of a measuring stick in life for me but I don't think it's unfair to say on xt so bear with me on this on. This is a regards to some new rules that is going to be implemented at select NASCAR xfinity and truck series gainer. Rv outdoor truck series. Races does not all of them. There is no way I can put this in English for you guys. I'm just GonNa read directly from this article that was written by Holly Cain. Those published Reuters So bear with me here. So basically is a new procedure for their pit stops and whatnot. It says quote during stage breaks per the new rules package the race will be frozen and cautions come out at all. These venues teams will then decide to pitch for fuel and change two tires on a single stop on the road. Courses Teams may either add fuel or pit for four tires per stop. I'm already confused. Moving on two pit stops for a full service. Four tires and fuel now be required at these select events. The pit stop must be completed with a designated time period and the team roster for both series will include eight crew members including the crew's over the wall I'm still lost last year. After pitstops occurring under these cautions restarts will be established based on the orders of the cars at the time of the caution and the strategy used vehicles. That did not it would be at the front of the field followed. I've eagles that pitted once followed by those that appeared twice in the free pass wave around and penalty cars was ever wrong with just normal pitstops. Why do we need these ridiculous rules about? Who can win? And if you do two cars this time but it was only your first stop then you go to the front and your second stop fuel twice while I think you get to go to seven. Well what is this nonsense like? Is this really what? Fans Eighty Z. And this really going to enhance the racing at all. I just I see some weird NASCAR rules in my time. This passage almost go to the top of the list. I really don't understand like this is just. I just hope this all comes crumbling down one day they just go back to Standard Gulbrandsen. Because this is just getting absurd. At this point I get in the original rumor girl in the off season was going to do away with pitstops and I get. Why series wanted to do that. In terms of cost saving measures that that's fine. I'm so completely confused. Now that's a great pitfall in maybe it's from a lack of From a lack of sleep over the past couple of days because this news came out before the last couple of days and I was equally confused than I honestly don't know what to say I re- I think I need like Nascar affinity and truck series pitstops for Dummies type book written because otherwise. I don't I don't know where to go with this. It's very confusing and to the average fan. Who's going to be getting into motorsports? This is not going to help them or make it enjoyable so not to be a dead horse or anything by it. It's not like we really need to memorize these rules. Because NASCAR changes roles midseason anyways. So who knows what? It's really going to be like after I don't know let's say two months of this not really working very well because nobody understands what they're supposed to be doing. I don't get it at all and I just. Yeah that's it all right so quickly. Mine I don't have allowed to say about this. But the five hundred ticket was unveiled today and It did not have Norman Passion on it which I think pretty much. Everybody and their brother did not enjoy it. So yeah that's it. I wanted Norman.

"Good idea for them to do something like that. Something along the lines of maybe like Alex. Tagliavini was never my favorite driver as a driver but love as a person then obviously he has some fantastic insights given choose. Know what it ended up seventeen years of racing so racing any car. I guess but yeah I mean it wouldn't hurt to have somebody. I mean like team penske and they sell Rick mears around and I think that they're three drivers will be the last drivers that need any coaching. I think it's never a bad thing to have someone who can lend you. An extra voice can help you out things so for sure. I think they definitely should look at bringing in a sense. Some veteran who's either retired last couple of years. Irv WHO's just a part timer nowadays like a Serbia Kazaa definitely. I don't think it hurt. It hurt them at all. Ya'll agree with that. There's always for an extra set of is pretty much in anything you do so I think that they would definitely benefit from it. Not really sure who would be a good fit but I have a feeling that they will find that person in. They'll get them in place pretty quickly. Yeah and We'll keep an eye on that and we'll see if we spot anybody at the paddock next year or anything like that and and what you guys know if we ever seen anything but moving on to more driver. News Charlie Kimball has signed a fulltime deal with agent for enterprises with the help of his longtime sponsor Novo Nordisk he will be the number four cars so that was the only although someone shared today. I believe it was Eric. Smith share today that Tony canonic making an announcement Thursday morning so recording tonight on Tuesday so two days from now will. I'm sure we'll touch on it Next week's episode. Whatever it may be so probably something with fourteen car. We don't know what capacity but will fill you guys on that but for now yes has announced the number four car. So that's definitely good news as far as just having an entry in employment for the folks that work there but what are your overall thoughts about a kimball to the car I mean. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. They said they wanted to kind of shake things up and I kind of feel like this does that. Cause he's a little different than what they would normally pick so mean I. I think that it can be a good thing as long as everybody works together and I know that's kind of been. Their goal is is to get a good team in place. So that's what they got to work on. His is the whole team aspect in my opinion virga point. I think it's a good thing for for both sides. It gives Kimble a full year. Which you know I. It's tough to get into a rhythm when erasing now. I don't know once a month. Essentially what he writes last year with seven races and as we saw last year he he really was much improved over what we were used to from the Kent Law of the past two years where he was running into the back of guys squeezing willpower off the side at Watkins Glen a couple of years ago and things like that so maybe this does provide a little bit of help for the team in terms of experience. And it'll help coach a young driver or two along the way. Probably GonNA regret saying this but I mean right now at honestly doesn't look so bad I know he's prone to his moments and whatnot. But there's been a lot of drivers in the past that have been prone to to certain moments on the track that make you scratch your head. But then they also weren't that likable off the track and with Charlie like. He's one of the nicest guys of Alzheimer's I think for me. I kind of gives him the benefit that like you know. I don't mind seeing around him. He was that every race last year anyways with Carlin just around the paddock He's just you know always smiling. Always Fun guy to be around. It's just Some of those on-track mistakes are pretty aggravating times. But if there's anybody that by right now I think Charlie Kimball would be the guy out of the least issue with so honestly is going to be good to see him at the track. He's he's just a really likable guy with Kimmel. You know. Obviously you guys touched on improving last year at not making as many incidents off on the track and causing too much carnage. Will this at all stabilized void? Do you think that if he keeps it clean nosy gonNA elevate foyt to once they higher levels because they're kind of at the bottom already but do you think he can help them improve at all? I mean kinda touching. I'll just said there's nowhere else to go but up so it can't get worse. I think I know in the press conference last week. It was last Wednesday. I guess they mentioned we'd like to some point on consistently in the top ten. I think if they're running consistently in the top twelve or thirteen may be making it to that. Second round of qualifying like dimensioned a necessarily of race but handful of times in half the races. I think that is a huge improvement and I think somebody like Charlie Kimball. Who's been around? Knows how to work the setup of a car and get something out of a less than ideal car like he did a Carlin or than once last year will be a huge win and and help Kind of start to improve somewhat. If we see the Charlie Campbell of last year. Then yes if we see the Charlie Kimball of previous years where he struggled to finish race because he was always some sort of incident than know and unfortunately I do kind of think that would actually be going backwards for them. So hopefully I'm gonNA keep my fingers crossed that we see the Charlie Kimball of last year that he carries over that consistency. And you know I I would say that finishing like you said in the top Like I'll even say to fifteenth on a consistent basis would would be a a big improvement for them so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that team Jeremiah. Unfortunate personal opinion is that given the recent history of Floyd. I honestly don't think it matters with. They put in the car because if they don't get the behind the scenes stuff figured out. You could put anybody in those cars right now. It's not going to matter. I mean they had a season with point Munos. They're still in the back. That's too incredibly talented drivers so I mean if the like I said if they don't have the behind the scenes stuff figuring out like you didn't hire the right personnel or develop the right resources and setups and wind tunnel etcetera this off season that I think they're going to be in for a long season. No matter WHO's driving a car so that's kind of the doom and gloom opinion. I'd love to be proven wrong on that one. I'd love to see if they've made some strides in the off season behind the scenes. But look sceptical naps and as far as the fourteen car and we touched on that. Could non hasn't announcement on Thursday are rethinking thinking. Kanawha full season. Don't lead split the races with them. There's been rumors of Sebastian. More Day may be popping in the C- maybe insert driver here. Somebody that Justin. I never heard of What do you guys think about fourteen? Just feeling I'm feeling like he's probably not going to get a full season and it would be nice because you guys know I always Kinda tend to bowl for him but I just feel like it's not in the cards and and frankly I feel like at this point in his life. He's probably starting to one to spend more time with his kids in and things like that and who can blame him for that. So that's just a gut feeling. We'll see how authorship lays out. I'm very curious to see what Thursday brings especially given the chatter we heard around the AMC paddock about that seat. This past weekend at the Rolex so my guess is going to be. Obviously when everybody is listening to this on Friday. It's GonNa be public news so I'm GonNa say this is the Tony can on retirement tour. He's going to do the ovals and maybe Long Beach in Laguna something along those lines like the the iconic big tracks are going to bring a ton of fans and and that's going to wrap up a outstanding career for Tony Kahn. And then we might see mets favorite driver. Dalton. Kelly get some races. I think that's also be likely I don't know how much funding he brings. But I think that's a strong possibility was enough funding to keep the lights for four or five years or whatever it was so don't need to beat the dead horse. I shared my opinion on About three or four episodes ago she hasn't go listen to that but Yeah I do think I want to go on a legend said. Can I get a full season? I just don't think it's in the cards based on the chatter. We've been hearing all off season so yeah I'm gonNA stick to some sort of part time definitely probably the five hundred for sure but beyond that who knows and then one final question just real quick assuming we have each race. We might have twenty four ish cars malicious narrow down. Say We'll have twenty two full time cars an INDYCAR next year. Where do you think Charlie Kimball is GonNa Finish the championship fourteenth? I was GONNA say Sixteenth. I'm GONNA say Nineteen so I'm going to jot down Jimbo. Mike Sub Fourteenth Sixteenth Nineteenth. Okay and then I did WANNA do one quick thing before we toss it to Mike. Obviously Sunday was a pretty sad day in the world with the loss of Kobe. Bryant and the eight others in the helicopter crashed. I just wanted to give my well. Wishes said anybody who was impacted by that. That crash accidents such a devastating loss of life and it was a really sad events in our lifetime Lot of people were comparing it to other things but to have that Sun. Losses was really sad such wishing everybody well and hopefully we can all. He'll as community here. Yeah very well said obviously. Kobe was a Philadelphia native but the other people involved in college baseball coach his family. It's just really sad. Really kind of was unfortunate Justin. I found out. I think on the trolley back from immediate center out to our car. Which a you're exhausted but enjoyed the race in definitely. It was tough to focus on driving back to the airport after that. So I hope is fam- Kobe's family in everybody. Who WAS INVOLVED? Family is doing as well as they possibly can. GotTa send them all. Well wishes You know it's it's not just the Bryans who were affected but other families were also affected. So WanNa make sure that everybody that was affected friends. Family obviously colleagues. Just you know know that our thoughts are with him and hopefully they can find some peace during this time with that being said we will give some shout outs to team pit lane members. Let's start with Keith. Tyronn.
