"I did an episode ninety four. It's the morehouse murders. Remember there was that hounds of love movie that I talked about that had like portrayed it. That was so fucking creepy him and his wife kidnapping women and then burying them. Yeah. So that one was fucking dark and so they went to this monster in the same way member Ted. Bundy was like offering to help them solve shit. motherfucker. Well Yeah and what can they? What can what can he offer the hell you know thoughts, stocks and feelings they have nothing to do in jail but unless they know the person or they know the area. That that would be a different thing but it was this guy just like here's my theories. Yeah. Here's how this person probably works. Here's what his mind is like. Here's what kind of person he is. Here's what you know but which. If they already have a profile of this person. Then they don't really need that guy. They have actually professional people doing it not a fucking serial killer. Yeah. It's not This isn't silence of the lambs. Hannibal lector that actually was an expert in this before he right and knew some people the killer too, right yeah. Yeah. Okay. So a complaint yeah, that's right. He was a patient. Yeah he was. He was the boyfriend of a patient. How Dare you school? I'm so sorry I will you're right? No, you're. You're one hundred percent right what was the patient's name they went in his garage and it was so I know be not bob was a ball with a he or she gave him the fake name Bob. Yes that's Hannibal. No Bob was the name of but fake name of the devotion. Buffalo Bill was the boyfriend. Yeah. So that's Bob. Because he gave a fake name and the boyfriend's name. Is the patient seeing Anything for us, we said. Characters that listed on Wikipedia after. Well. That's bullshit. Hold on a second because for being says it. He says it in the seen before she goes to. Yourself yourself storage look inside yourself storage. Let me take a bunch of that. Not all of it, not all of it. Speaking of profile due to the nature of the killings experts suggest that the clermont killer was probably a single white male twenty, five to thirty five lived in the area appear trustworthy organized, social, and probably well educated. Detective Dan Detective Dan. Replaces Ferguson as the case leader and finds the I suspect in the killings a man name, Lance Williams to Lance Williams's forty-one-year-old public servant he lives with his parents at cottesloe which is Close to the hotel where both spears and rimmer had spent some of the their evening on the night they disappeared but it seems like his biggest fault is that he seems to become obsessed with the case you know which is always a red fucking flag. He even occasionally drives around Clermont late at night to conduct his own mini investigation into the murders he says, and he even offers women, women, rides home. He says because he's worried about them. So one time he circles the area more than thirty times. And of course, this raises Red Flags, they investigators, and they have a young female officer dress up for the night for a night out and ACA activate, and he does offer the undercover officer lifts and he's immediately arrested. So February, Fifth Nineteen Ninety eight he's question for like twelve to seventeen hours seems and then released and he remains the chief suspect for the most of the next decade and is placed under intense scrutiny with police open they openly follow him and to and from work every day for years his family.

I it just disappeared from my own screen for a second. So I don't know if you lost me for a minute or not or if I was frozen but hopefully I'm back now. That's odd. I hope it's not the computer's about ready to die so we might have to better hurry this up here at the end game. Someone says they're getting out of here to go watch the SEC championship game. We do have one more super chat question. I think I'm going to end the show with this and I haven't read it ahead of time so I'm really hoping hoping that it's appropriate. Says Duck evades. TCU's on Channel Jones off game and picks up fifty plus with his feet or he finally steps up up into the pocket and Land Six plus deep shots. That's that's a pretty interesting observation there. Okay that could he. Could he make make something happen with his feet more. I still think it was a question that we brought up that I brought up on the preview and that was a statistics of love the pressure rate for route off versus hodges so far this season and how the pressure rates. I don't have the numbers right in front of me with right around fifteen or show for for hodges and forty five percent for Rudolph but question is wiser so much more pressure on it and I was noticing. Did do you do you have have to keep someone. That's almost like a spy on on. Hodges I don't know that he's that much of a rusher or teams feel like they didn't have to worry about anybody with that with Rudolf. So they're sending extra guys I don't know but that's one thing that's interesting is the duck has done some stuff with his feet specifically and I know like even when he came came into that Ravens game it did so with that said I know Lance answering questions here that that was there so I was trying to see what he said. "Three twenty nine and it's it's gonna be the pay idiots first week at home. Don't wanna be that guy but that's just my gut and i go with my gut a lot with with with the so it's yeah definitely a lot so i mean that's a chance to go with the over you know if you go ahead so that would be the over right that would be the over the over her and so so i guess you go ahead and stay. They're going to go ahead and cover okay. Dave your prediction. I really think that this all comes down to the steelers defense and the last time they played the patriots granted with at home they held them to ten points and the question is is it a better defense or a worse defense. I think gets a better defense and you also. Is it a better patriots offense or worse patriots offense. I don't think it's as good as as a patriots offense so those are the factors involved therefore i am going to i've changed back and forth so many times on this. I'm going with the under for sure now. I gotta pick a score. That actually actually fits. That is the problem so i'm going to say under. I'm going to say twenty six seventeen steelers. I've going so i am going against what i did into survivor pool where i pick new england and i'm going to i'm going to pick the steelers twenty. Six seventeen is what you said. Yes very good okay so so far. Lance williams has picked the patriots were twenty four to twenty one brian anthony davis pick the patriots to win. The score was some crazy thirty. Three twenty nine senate two point convert steelers. It's normal very normal numbers by brian today <hes> i. I guess i'm the straw that breaks the camel's back. I take the steelers dealers and i said his last night. I like the steelers to win but a rather lower scoring affair. I think both of these teams are going to run the ball effectively. It's going to slow the game. Extras speed the game itself. South's gonna slow it down from a story standpoint. I think there's a little you know flurry at the end. I think the steelers went twenty four to twenty. They obviously win. They the patriots lose the overall game and i take the under big time before we get to anything else..

"Subscribe, so. I'm just saying that may be another interesting motive is, is, maybe this is indicative of the fact that there isn't anybody out there that can influence the narrative directly. Then it's just all a cacophony of opinion. And after a play like that. You know, the league is up against anybody. They there is no alternative voice though. You know, I'm in a way in alternative voice, that's if in radio like their main stations in Los Angeles, Chicago York, they won't have me on their shows. They won't are you black balled. I I've been on in ten years. Wow. Looks on the subjects and they won't have me on. So I think there is kind of, you know, this way to control. The narrative still out there because again, there's not a lot of dissenting voices in the sports world. A lot of it is a lot of raw raw, you know, that's true sports. And I mean, there are a lot of Hatay of Stephen Smith who yell stuff at the TV, right? I mean, there I think, you know, intentional descent. They're not true descent. Yeah, that's interesting because yeah, Stephen is opinionated, but not about that. You're opinionated on this on that one subject, which is such kryptonite. That I think that's the part that people would be most afraid of. Yeah. I mean I wrote an article with the center for investigative reporting about a potentially fixed baseball game that came out in Sports Illustrated. But we me and Lance Williams, the guy who I co wrote the article with we had a very hard time finding an outlet to publish that with. Wind up in Sports Illustrated. But we went to UCF twice with it and twice where your jacket by them. Yeah. I mean we're talking about is fixed baseball games. Something that's supposedly hasn't happened since nineteen nineteen. They didn't find it newsworthy. So and and still it's still a sore spot for Chicago sports fans nineteen nineteen. All Brian to ease back. So here's what we're going to do. We're going to give the numbers.

"Of the statistics that you will hear in the program, if you want to subscribe to the program, do a subscription and subscribe, and liked the show. Subscribe do all that stuff on apple podcast, Google podcast, Ituen Spotify do a search for Steelers who assert Steelers podcast Lance Williams behind the curtain, and you should find the program on this particular episode of. Yeah, I said it. I want to say the following Vince Williams will not play very much in twenty nineteen. Now the two questions after I make that statement, our the why. And after I give you the why there should be the who question is, well, why, why will Vince Williams not play much the twenty nineteen because regardless of the physicality in the attitude and the toughness that we all love is Pittsburgh Steeler fans that been vidi vici brings to the field. He's weakened coverage and a National Football League now illustrate that by looking at the opponent's Pittsburgh Steelers play at twenty nineteen. It's a package football league. You have to be if you're going to be an every down linebacker. You have to be very good in coverage. I'm not saying you don't have to be stout and be able to handle run because teams will run it down your throat, if they think they can because that minimizes the risk for turnover if they can control the clock impound you and beat you up physically. So they'll do that. So you have to be able to handle to run as a linebacker but you have to be able to handle the passing game and Vince is trunk against a run at the key solid in coverage but not very good solid, not very good by not. He may not may differ, some this just say if you look at the two terms, he's average. He's average at best we all remember to Kansas City game where Kansas City was able to go to multiple wide receiver formations empty sets in really attack Bosick and Vince Williams with Travis Kelsey, and with other white receivers in tight slot splits that can attack lie. Akers. And that's what the Steelers want to avoid going into twenty nineteen. If you look at Vince Williams, he played seven hundred and forty three of the one thousand and forty five steps you might be saying to yourself, how are they going to replace those snaps? You also look at the Steelers defense they play based thirty percent of the time nickel twenty nine point four percent of the time in dime. Thirty seven percent of the time. So essentially, they played sixty seven percent of their snaps in sub package defense in that is how they are going to replace him because they brought in the who in that's Bush, embarrassing. They brought into lighter players that can run one a former safety, one guy who has cornerback measurable 's that can run and cover much better presumably. Then Vince Williams. So if you look at the number of snaps that they played in sub package football, and you look at the guys that they brought in, you can easily see how Vince Williams won't play much in twenty nineteen. Now, let's look at who the Steelers are going to play at twenty nineteen and let's look at the most us personnel grouping for each. Now eleven personnel is one running back in one time in three wide receivers. Of that personnel grouping when you look at the Steelers opponent every one used that as their most common. Offensive personnel grouping, except the San Francisco forty Niners, who ran twenty one personnel, which is to back one tied into wide receivers fifty four percent of the time. So let's look at the teams in a percentage of those who most us eleven personnel, the pats forty-three percent. Seattle, sixty four percent the Bengals seventy one percent. The ravens fifty one chargers fifty five dolphin. Sixty two coats, seventy ram seventy seven cards fifty eight bills, sixty four jets forty nine. What did she tell you is?.

"When he wasn't in there when he was in there. I believe it was it might have been two thousand fifteen and I believe it was when they played the forty Niners in week two and had fifteen back. I was interrupt you go for it. He was he was just absolutely amazing. The very next week. He's in a hoodie and for a couple of weeks. He's in a hoodie after that. And he just the defense really suffered without him being there. So the big thing if we're comparing the two it's really looking to see who stays healthy because if you could have Bush staying healthy a whole lot more than Shays ear than you have a better defense. And I'm glad you said that in this is something that Lance Williams, and his yeah, I said it show actually mentioned it was the episode where he said why they shouldn't reach for Bush or. One of the Devon's essentially. And even though they they did I don't think it's a reach. But they've made an aggressive play. And he talked about how people forget, and it's because of the injury that there were people calling Ryan shazier a bust. He missed a lot of tackles he played fast. But sometimes he played reckless. He was injured a lot. How many times we hear people say why can't he play safety? You know what I mean? People forget about this. And it is just fan perspective. I'm not saying this is the team was suggesting like that. But I'll tell you what let's wrap this up by answering. My question from the Steelers burning question, and that is will Devin Bush live up to the hype in two thousand nineteen Brian will go with you. I this even if he becomes a bust. This is a great trade because she made the move that he needed to make this was the year you had to make that move. They were desperate to make this move. And they went ahead and did it so plus even. If he bust out he's not gonna bust out though. He's going to make an impact I predict that. He is. He plays a lot in week one. Whether he's a stored or not and he is full time starter by week four. So he he lives up to the height not only lives up to the hype. But he will be in the in the equation for defensive rookie of the year. It'd be Dave. I do want to clean up one thing. I'm so Brad go. So glad Brian brought up that forty Niners game. I was at that game. And not only we have all those tackles. He was just everywhere. You just watch that game was amazing. And it was so disappointing to see him get that pinched nerve that he was pinched nerve or something shoulder. They thought it was just a stinger. And then here was a nerve problem. I think he missed the next four to answer your question. I do not think he's gonna live up to the hype and this year because I think we've already as Steeler fans, we've already set our expectations basically way too high for him. He's going to he's if he doesn't come out and put up twice but twice as good numbers is what Shakespeare did in his Pro Bowl year than we're not going to be happy. You know, because we don't understand that it takes more than one year for a player to be ready..

Give it of is it, you know, Dave, I understand what you're saying, regardless town level and have him stay do we really want him to stay though. I'd really do. We want him to stay. No. But at the same time, you're not gonna give them away. No, no. I they don't going to release it. But for you're not going to say, oh, yeah. We'll take a third round pick some people like oh, do it for sixth. You know, some of the beat writers that he's taken issue with the pastor saying just get get anything. You can't form a conditional seventh. You know? No, no. There's no reason to do that. It's not, you know, I'd rather. I'd rather just make him say, hey, we're gonna find you or going to suspend you. You think that Antony around could at least get it? I and I know that you should he should six. I. Sobriety of anything else before we move on. No, I just feel bad for an Tonio Brown. And the reason I feel bad is he is killing himself here. There's something seriously wrong with span going on in his head. And he's just not right. But he's taking a lot of people down with them. "You think about it compared to what they could be doing pretty good pretty good not to that. So I hope that this works. Here's the kicker for me. And I don't want to spend too much time on this. But I hope some of these rules. Maybe the NFL is taking a look and saying I wonder how this would look in the NFL, for instance. There's no kickoffs. They don't even kick the ball the team that just got scored upon gets the ball the twenty five yard line. If they wanna go for TV if someone wants to go for say an onside kick they have to complete a fourth and twelve play to retain possession of the football. So those are thinking, well, there's no kick off, you know, whether the heck are we going to do that's how they get the ball. There's an extra official which they call it the eye in the sky where they can watch the play, and they can always whistle down and say we need to look at the quality of play is not that great. But I think that the meaning behind it, and the what how they're going about it and keeping. Mind if you are watching these games. I I wanna say I read somewhere that these players have only had less they had less than a month together to prep for this. So it's not like in team. That's practiced all off-season been through training camp for months at least a month and a half played preseason games. These guys are just getting in getting to know each other. So with that said, maybe your checking out some football. I'm at least it's it's the talese on in the background. So I guess I look at it and say it's better the basketball for me because I just don't find basketball NBA that that intriguing now do wanna say to start the show the live chats going on right now on YouTube. If you're watching I am opening the show with Q, and because Alaska that we had we had a couple people that were in the live chat saying, hey, what are you guys going to answer questions? Again. Let's do it let well if Lance Williams is going to be able to join me today, which is supposed to, but he must have been tied up traffic or something like that. If he's not able to join us, I'll at least answer some questions if you have some questions, you're watching live, go ahead and fire away. We have we have some questions already coming in all answer. "But if you're like me you around your family, the Pittsburgh Steelers were talked about we'll just put it that way their chances of getting in their chances of the Browns being the ravens will work gonna talk about all of that. But it's not Lance Williams tonight. It's Dave Scofield stepping in as always I appreciate it. He is a contributor of behind the silk dot com. Dave, how are you this evening trying to recover? Absolutely. If he has kids, I know I have kids sometimes you just have to sit back, and they what in the heck just happened. It's like a tornado came through my living room. So yeah, I think Dave knows what that's all about. But so David I you know, I did the post game show with Lance. And Lance has some family engagements tonight. It's why is unable to join us. But I wanna get your thoughts on the game that was in week sixteen because man was talk about a gut punch. That's a game where it kinda has if you think about it. It's kind of been status quo for the Steelers all season long. It's been there in it. They have the lead in either the defense fails to hold that lead or they fumble. Or inner threw the ball way to turn the turn over the game. Essentially, what was your what are your takeaways from that game? And what do you think about moving forward with this team getting into week seventeen? Well that was the best opponent. They had played all season, and they had to go into their house and play him, and they were right there and could have won the game and very well. Should when the game. So it's kinda hard to to not at least you don't like to take more victories, especially when it's a game that you have to win in order to continue to control your destiny. But it's not like the Steelers won out and lost to two and twelve team or anything like that this week. It was they were right there. I mean. For for that moment on fourth and two. I thought they did it. And then three seconds later incomes the flag. It was almost like that that realization of this could actually happen. They could win this game and still be in control. And then that was ripped from our hearts, right then. And but I still had the confidence that that that they could do something the whole time until. Much much like with the patriots game. When you felt like that game wasn't over until the Steelers are on in victory formation. It was almost like this one. You still didn't feel like they were out of it until the saints were in victory formation. What do you think in your opinion was the turning point in the game? There were still many different parts and different areas. We points you could be a penalty that kind of swung the turn the tide so to speak. It could have been turnovers the fourth and five fake punt. I felt personally that was a huge swing of momentum. And I know that might tile when he has his justification for the call. And I spoke about this in the post game. I disagreed with it. But at the same time his justification kind of tends to leave it open ended to where you understand where you're coming from. But I want to ask you where did you think if there was I guess you could say there wasn't. But if there was a turning point where was it. I would say there was more than just one because they were toying with our emotions. Because I mean, the Ridley fumble because the Steelers were they were basically right on the cusp of being able to go up the full seven points or more. If they could punched in the end zone 'cause I kept saying to myself if they go up by more than one score. This is this is unreal. This is going to happen. And they were they're ready to go up the full seven points or more than they had the fumble. Then they got the stop. And then they did the fake punt and the fake punt. I don't wanna knock it too much because if they get one more yard than their genius..

"That's right. I kind of happy I wasn't happy about thirty minutes ago. And that's because the Steelers improbable come from behind win over the Jacksonville Jaguars equates to their sixth straight win. And there's a lot to digest. There's a lot to talk about to do that. I bring my co host on my friend and colleague, Lance Williams, Lance. How's it going in? What are your knee jerk? Reactions on this game. What's listeners first of all the ghost face? Stealer is back. Yes. The mask is on. I wanna thank I can't remember the guy's name who challenged me to wear the Basque or Twitter, but the mask is back. Mike, Lee jerk reaction is football's a sixty minute game. You don't win games at halftime. When the clock goes zero zero zero you look in the scoreboard. And you see who wins in a turned out to be the Pittsburgh Steelers absolutely end unit. Funny thing is this is very common for my family. Least is in. I have a group taxed between my brother and my father typically during the games, and is dismal. As it was in as bad as it was. And I run the Twitter feed for behind curtain during the games. I kept on saying they're only down nine to nothing. Now did the Steelers defense gay gastro in the game by the run? He had in a bad way to the tune of over one hundred yards in the first half. But they kept them in the game. By making key stops on third down and red zone. Stops forcing them to feel goals. To me lands this game. If there's ever been a game this season that I say this was on the defense. They did a tremendous job. I'm put it out saying this one, right? Am I wrong and thinking that or you agree? I think the first half. I mean, you're right. If you hold teams to feel goals you don't score touchdowns. You can keep yourself at a gang particularly with a quarterback. Like, Blake Bortles who they're not gonna trust to open it up. But the first half was bad defensively they were getting gashed in the running game. They just play well in some situations football opportunities. But the one thing that they did do in the first half is they did not allow any red zone opportunities, which was king. And that's what it is with the running game. If you're going to run the ball like Jacksonville you have to score touchdowns. And if you don't you're gonna keep teams in it. So I mean, this was unable game you have to look at the all twenty to see what they did differently in the second half. But that loss of two it really showed in the first half. But they stayed the course and they kept him in a gang. Absolutely. And it was definitely a game where there was a time where and with this Steelers offense came into this game averaging over thirty points believed the number was thirty one you're sitting anything the only down down by nine points. They're only down by. One point. It was sixteen to was sixteen to six only ten points. It's two scores. And I'm sitting there in it felt insurmountable. It did you did you feel that Lance because I know I did. And I know I'm more fantasy than you are if that's a word, but did you feel the same way? Or were you kind of think this team could turn it around on a dime? No thought they were gonna win and on Twitter. I said even at the end the halftime I thought they win the football game. I thought they would win the football game. Because I didn't think the Jacksonville was gonna get away from them in the game. So I thought they were going to win the football game. I thought they just had to be patient and be able to string some place together. And once they were able to stop the run game. I thought they could be in. When they failed to convert some things in the second half. When it got down sixteen six. Wow. You know, they beat the clock it, they have, you know, a little more time..

"So it's not just him. Let's keep that in mind. The dig and still run the ball offense of line. The CEO's offensive line has not given up a sack only one quarterback hip hit in two games. That's unheard of in today's NFL I'll say it again. No sacks only one quarterback hit in two games. I know the Lanta falcons defenses in that. Great, but Cincinnati's defense, everyone's talking about how great they are. I didn't see it personally. Okay. Let's see if we can get on here and looks like I have have my co host here. Joining me here in a second. Here we'll do one more. Frank says, what's up James, Washington. He's add thought he was going to contribute more. Could we have used that pick, say, on an inside linebacker instead of keeping or keep Bryant for one more year. James, Washington is a tough one for me because I don't know. I have. I haven't watched him enough on the all twenty two to be able to see what's really going on because he's getting this naps. He really is getting ads getting the time. Then not orga may not believe in any might not trust them, but he's getting the lows. So ultimately from me, I'm not sure what's going on. Jane's Washington. We'll see. I think the via week will do him. Well, I think he's gonna get some much needed repetitions in practice. And I think that ultimately he's gonna be better. And speaking of, I don't know what's going on as I don't know what's going on with Lance Williams, what's up lands? How's it going. I'm here finally, one apologize listeners for getting to my own show late. But you know, sometimes that's how it is and sorry for not wearing the mask yet. You coward what the hell. You guys got to come up with something else. Van to mask is hot. It's just it's a little hot is kind kinda hard to manage maintain, but but I'll do this listeners, I'll I'll volunteer to go clean shaven like Jeff, so we'll go cliche, hold on. I know we're not doing this. You can do the clean shaven thing, but I think every post game if the Steelers win. So after the bye week and we do a post game show you have to wear the mask until they lose. I think that's only fair, I'll I'll let you. Okay. Okay, I'll do that. I'll do that every post game. Yes, I'll let you off the hook with the standard, but ultimately, I think that you need to buck up with the. You're right, you're right. Reputation is made of still. It's funny because as as Lance joins the show, so does our special guest tonight. Chris Carter, he used to be. Hey, of behind the steel curtain dot.

"We almost saw that Monday night, so I'm cautiously optimistic, but if I think with my head and on my. Heart. I'm actually going to go ahead and say, thirty one, twenty eight in favor of the Baltimore Ravens. You know what? I was the same thing I said to Lance Williams when he predicted the ranger when good pig against them, everyone pick against him. I don't care that. You know what backs against the wall underdogs at home. I like it. I like it a lot. So you know what? I'm gonna take the Steelers. I think that there's something about this team. We let off our show last night and I hate to keep referencing that. But with the question of which half is the Steelers team is the first half against Tampa Bay where they scored twenty three office of points thirty total points or is it the second half of the scored no points and let them right back in? I still think this first half team is the team that we can expect once they kind of get things together, will they get it together? I don't know. But you know what? I'm gonna go with these games are typically what four points are under, right? I'm gonna keep it right at that line. I have the Steelers winning thirty one to twenty seven thirty one twenty seven. It would drop the ravens record to into the Pittsburgh advanced. Two one in one in depending on how the Cincinnati Bengals do against the Atlanta Falcons. They could be right in the thick of things in the AFC and the AFC north division. So Brian picked against the pig issue. He took the ravens, Lance Williams last night at the ravens. I'm taking the Steelers and both times because I don't change my prediction at all. And so we'll see how things play out. Call me journal optimists. That's fine. But we, you know what? I just think that this team is better than what they've put on the field so far. And so Brian, what do you think about that prediction before we get into any questions. You know what I like that prediction to. I'm just being, I'm usually the eternal optimist and something that you said about the Pittsburgh Steelers, first half offense. Just want to let you know something about the ravens. Second, half defense has not allowed a touchdown in the second half at all this year, so they are. They get stronger as the game goes on. I mean, really, I hope I can eat chronics. I hope I'm completely wrong. I hope I've egged on my face next week and I personally will let you go ahead and just make fun of me to the gills and I hope do. I hope I'm dead wrong because I'll tell you what the networks pay me to us to Kate..

"Talking a little bit of bucks Steelers week three, but we're talking a lot about raven Steelers week, four coming up. Let me introduce my does always Lance Williams lands. How are you this evening? I'm doing fantastic listeners just rate and talk about some ball. Let's do it. Yeah, let's do it. You had you had to keep point. You wanted to talk about let you good and kick it off tonight. Monday night's football game in our kinda wanted to talk about, you know, this season we've seen in the first couple of games and you know, we seen some ups. We see some downs, obviously Steelers get their first win on Monday night against the buccaneers gritty, second half performance to hold onto that victory. But the one thing I want to ask you Jeff in listeners, if you're on the live chat, I want to chime in his well. Teff best represents football team in two thousand eight is at the first half is at the team that jumped out to a thirty ten win or excuse me, thirty two ten lead or is it the team in the second half the struggling offense, struggling on defense and held on to win that football game in European, Jeff, and listeners out there on the live chat which have best reflects this football team at this moment Dr. That's really really difficult question to answer based on the fact that you look at the body of work, they've put on the field so far. It's been nothing but inconsistent from top to bottom. But if I had to guess maybe it's just because in my mind I had the way to the Steelers played in the first half was my expectation for the way this team was gonna play in general in two thousand eighteen. That was kind of the defense that I saw, and I was like, I think this defense could be pretty decent and they showed out and they were playing pretty decent football. And then in the second half when the offense wasn't possessing the ball, the Tampa Bay bucks seemingly were just taking these longtime 'cause dries. They were gassed and they were gashed at the same time, they were gassed physically and gash in the in the performance of things..

"People were shot twelve died over one three hour window. One person was shot. On average every six minutes, violence in Chicago isn't new but behind those numbers are stories of the victims and their families an aunt kisses the photo of her niece seventeen year old Johnny Patterson killed by a gunshot on Sunday a bicycle that seventeen year, old Kenny ivory was writing when he was shot in the abdomen and the scene on Sunday outside Stroger hospital youngest victim this weekend was eleven. The oldest victim sixty two For more on all this we turn to to Chicago residents, Tamar Manasseh a community activist and founder of mother's and men against. Senseless killings and Lance Williams associate professor of urban affairs northeastern, Illinois. University thanks very much to you both, Lance Williams let me start with you a lot of this violence was centered around the west side of Chicago the south side of Chicago why are. We seeing this violence. Today focused in those neighborhoods Well you're seeing the violence on the west side and south size of Chicago because about twenty years ago in the early two thousands the city. Of Chicago implemented some very very, bad a public policy the most, damaging of those policies was the, policy, of, renaissance twenty ten when Chicago basically privatized charter schools neighborhood public elementary, and high schools it became a serious problem. Because many of. The high schools and communities that had long. Traditions of St. organizations calls. Young African American males to be afraid to leave out of their communities, going to new schools throughout. The city of Chicago so basically from the early two thousands Too many young African American, males haven't, been going to. School meaning that they don't have lice life prospects they can't get jobs. They're self medicating the, deal with the stress in their community and. Driving a lot of the violence tomorrow Manasseh I want to show what you do I want to show a photo of you working every day you sit on the corner of seventy fifth street and south Stewart avenue cooking dinner for neighborhood. Kids what are you trying to, do I'm trying to keep them alive That's what I'm trying to do, and for the past four years I've been successful with hot dogs and hamburgers and chicken. In hugs and love and. Consistency that's what I've been doing Nobody gets shot there and it's not just about. The kids it's about the wellness. Of the entire community so we, not only feature there we feed adults as well so we're feeding up whatever one hundred. And fifty people every night Lance Williams food providing some kind of community. Feeling, is that some of the solutions oh absolutely and I think you know what tomorrow's. Doing is is incredible job it would, be great, if she was given more resources to to to expand and. Ramp up the kind of environment see, this is the stress that is going on in the community that she's addressing directly she is creating an. Environment where we're you know the food and the love and, the the hugs and kisses and the mothers. Out on the block actually reduce. Distress for the young men. In the community which makes them less inclined to engage in violence I want to ask about. What the police chief and the mayor, said this, weekend they mentioned that gangs were behind a lot of this. Violence and they also said the police, chief said that they need the community's help to catch, the perpetrators that sound like the right so listen Not at all. Not to me, it doesn't, April tenth Eddie Johnson gave a press conference where he. Touted technology is what had helped bring down. The numbers of violent. Crime in Chicago it was the shooting spotter and it was all of this new technology that they employ in. That's what did it. I'm not just you know. I'm not the only organization out in the neighborhood working make a difference on the ground every day it's not just me. There are one hundred other organizations just like me who are out here every day and own making a contribution so making, communities better he not once mentioned them he said that it was the technology and it was extra policing, and it was. Actual over policing that made the difference but now you need the community's help when. You have so many of the resources that could be given, to the community Inglewood will not have any public schools in the fall in these kids that that professor William spoke up they. Will have Have no options of a. Public high, school in Inglewood but yet the. Police have all. The resources but you're. Looking for the community to help you you just said that the community wasn't a part of that when it was technology and. It's kind of like the day after he made that statement got another team million dollar donation. When I mean organizations. Like mine are, struggling every, day that have been shown actually have results just to. Make sure people get fed just to make. Sure that we can. Actually actually provide a safe place every day for the community to come in be a community for neighbors the. Come and intermingle with. Neighbors and people would coming. Meet people and so become a community again we have to actually you know begging borrowed to make that happen when the. Police department they have all of these resources is clearly not going the public schools for every school you close for every, teacher they lose the job that's one more of these thugs or gang bangers that are created so no, you can't lay At the feet of the community right now you, late this the of. The city and when you remove resources what do you expect this. Is what, you will get Tell us what happened they need, to tell us, why they answers this, isn't for the community to, take care of the? City that's why this is happening NASA Lance Williams. Thank you very much tvos Thank. You.
