"Gentleman's time for our first tonight. I'm Bob European with Mr Phrase himself. Yeah so I want to go here and do a sport state because Paul Pierce. He's just hilarious when he comes to his sports. Especially when it comes to hit Lebron hate. But I'm going to scratch scrapped. Just throw that one trash and Confucius proposed a very divisive unpopular opinion. For me I kind get with to preface it. He said he and his business partner. Ray We're having a conversation about If Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are the seminal basketball players of of our time. Then who would be their rap equivalent confusions and I agree that it is Javy Lou Wayne and Drake Wile Ray and I'm sure other people agree with his dad and the Kobe spot would be instead of weighing would be with so my unpopular opinion would be that is not the Kobe Bryant or Lebron James of rap. He's not I would give him more was Russell. I personally will give him more. Russell Westbrook then Kobe or Lebron and so I know go ahead go ahead. Dick spiel blessings. This is coming from somebody who was a kind. Yay Fan but I never looked at AKA as Kobe. I always looked at Wayne more as the heir apparent to Jay Z. Especially later on in Wayne's career when I say later on I mean like the Carter and that was more he was going at J. and J. Lo Tae they were going at each other subliminal messaging on a subliminal shots at each other on record and I just think Wayne Music Wise and lyrical ability wise robbing ability keeps up more with Jay. Then a Kiei like we've all heard an entire album of J and Kiei did kyw shining moments on drones. Yes for sure. But if you're asking me kind of Washington. Yeah he was getting them got he washing them so I don't. They is more of a Lebron. Because I don't look at him as the young phenom who's coming into reign. Supreme in who everybody is picking to ranks bring? That was not Kiei. If everybody really remember if you really of fan you remember. He came into this wanting to be a rapper with pink Polo and being signed the Rockefeller and people not really thinking he fit the mold. Of what a rapper should've been signed to Rockefeller Records Light. He didn't he didn't fit. He even put it in song you know. He got the pink Polo to populate. Nobody thought that he would be. Would I am not going to say? Nobody thought he would be with years but I don't think people him signing a Rockefeller people see it. They just didn't see it and it took a while for people to see it and believe that you know this this guy is. He's a pretty good ride. Oh He's A. He's a great rapper. I'm not taking away from as musical ability or reverend ability. I believe with rap but is he is he the Lebron James of this know like I said when you think about who Lebron is. He's supposed to be the next one the next goal. He's supposed to be the next Mike he's supposed to be the one that people will have. Unanimous unanimously chosen to wear the crown in rap. That's not key that fits more with drake drake coming in. I like in comeback season and room for improvement to Lebron High School. It was you saw. You saw the shining spot you saw. This kid has some talent he already was. I'M GONNA say surrounded by big names. 'cause I don't care what you say. And they wonder in little brother. Big names in rap facts really. Don't care what you say. What he was surrounded by does he was looked at as a backpacker but once he aligned himself with Wayne and started being around way more cash money. People will just boom ready to standpoint and just say like he got it. He's next he's next up. And then when so far gone came out it was like him being drafted by the Cleveland. Cavaliers like Lebron being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers and winning the rookie of the year. It was his coming out party. It was. He's the real deal. This this this guy is the next one. And then after that drake started his started and continued his reign of dominance on rap. Whether you count album sales billboards he's he's he's he's there. I know a lot of people would jump in here in the Congo. Say would about Kendrick would about Colo Monument would call yachting believe in call like that in co had a very large cult following with his first few mix tapes but the mass didn't in him like that can was the same way. Don't say here until we did jobs. Really bumping overly dedicated into Kendrick. Lamar hope because you weren't hours in but I know everybody else was and I was aware of them. I knew who he was but like I've seen some I've seen Michael Jordan. Come home and you know what it was so I don't see here and tell me John. Dahl Kendrick was the new shining crown prince of Rab. Start saying that until good kids. That's the way I wanted to say. He was to say I wasn't saying they don't section eight either so that will be my argument. Those guys immensely talent Mesli talented but no and just not. Those is not the Kobe Lebron like. I said I would like.

"Heart. So yes. She's one of them but yes last week. Christopher Wallace Aka the notorious biaggi celebrated his birthday. Fresh what is your favorite Biggie Song. Oh man off the top of my head give me. The loot always been asylum. For some reason. They just randomly no scratch. It's not ten crack. Commandments is my favorite. Beeson on because those over literally rules. I live by about how to take those. Could you can take you can take them in. Apply them to most things in life and I wonder only regional forty allows the power before you know you got a hold of it would shop about it. I could see Robert Greene taking If I of my head is hard because I like both of biggies Abbas he may when he was alive but I know I listened to radio. Die Way more than life after death opposite I mean it's like father wanted to machine gun funk which apparently was big I was single I rented buffet. Uc's where we need to go So yet you know it was either. That are kicking the door I was thinking of the key in the door but machine gun funk. I think was really like a lyrical like masterpiece in time. You have the argument. That big is one of the greatest of all time. I would go to machine gun funk I mean Greg amendments to its biggie has a lotta great look Yemen. It's hard to choose like I've taught my able. Yeah that that's the thing would like you know would biggie. There was there will be bad boy for wasn't for big Facts you can make the argument. That puff steele might have been successful because he was accessible for big but in terms of the sound of bad boy and the ranking in power that got in terms of like music. Yeah I think it would be because you have to not breaking artists successfully on your own in order to get that validation. So would there be usher without Tony. Think may viruses. So I don't think Craig Mack could've carried bad boy to way. Big Back Anchor carries on song but it would be. I mean the original flavor wasn't like wouldn't flop how this was the first off. I do bars on Remix I mean the original under our remix dot com go check God risk right Max old. Just that was just fortunate. Well that's goes to my point. He couldn't have carried away. Biggie carry the label. Biggie was the B side of Flavor. Here in once like that was released. It was flooding. You what you know. Then the remix came and then he shined on edge after Greg who go first on that song because man may have pulled off to the side. You might taking them off this can we can. We like put. Ll I'm cool L. RAMPAGE. Here be after this to be passed away You know it's even sadder to as well that the great thing. They didn't a career the people that they were overshadowed by how they passed and they were so young. Like you know. People argue about the music. They made we talk about it. The great means that they made their influence and impact but to be fair. They live long enough to make bad music. Young let these guys went in their mid thirties early forties when they got killed so they didn't they weren't child ramblers. Some sometimes I still kinda think bag on like how young both of them were when they think like. Yo Do. It showed a different. How time was how we looked at time. Different because at that time I e as key like we looked at age they were in their mid twenties. It's like man these own but like you said it wasn't like they were in the mid thirties. Early Forty these innate meet twin twenty when they died and they will look at the older individuals but like a lot of people. Today will get like twenty four your own life and you just a key. You Ain't live life. Barely live to but yeah. Yeah big two bucks definitely young and they get time to grow and mature pass their fault time. People sometimes point out you know to park was bothering bucks. He was in his early twenty s mostly Waddell rambunctious with no money and he had money like. What do you expect like granted in? Nobody can understand the pressures if somebody who grew up in the way he grew up. You know. Mother was a pant that wasn't got on drugs. He streets and biggie grew up in the streets. Of course you're GONNA make mistakes the mistakes amplifying. We're on the national state and national rap artists. So yeah the David unfortunately weren't perfect people. Luckily they're being young with money with a lot. What a lot of money and the money that they. Hey you bound to make. There's people that are live. Nowadays that started off young and made a lot of mistakes and Y'all forgave him Justin Bieber. So it's fine. It'd be okay beginning. Live long enough to you. Know fully become the person he probably would have been and that's kind of the same thing with like a lot of people that pass away young. Whether it be Mac Miller big to park. You'll get to see them become what they fully were going to be Selena. My wife were talking about like what was the lane had been had she lived and I said Boop boop rich because she was running Latin music when she was alive and nobody in hallway it was not and had makeup to be buck wild rich To five more likely would have been wanting to acting big probably would have had his own label because he had on ds Woodlands unreviewed Era So you know it. Just sucks you know. We're having these conversations and Bob Biggie. Because but it's also a good thing that his music is lasts longer. There are there are artist a pathway. Doesn't last you know so. Shut out to fans knew toys biaggi. Don't go anywhere we'll be right back so the guy that we don't love him Takashi. Six nine wants Deion is in the news now from music but because he just won't shut the hell up usually I worked with him in talk about maybe weekly began because he's doing something stupid every week but he did touch on something that we touched on the podcast last week about Billboard magazine for us. You've said outside of Takashi six nine bringing it up that'd be aboard doesn't really matter you know when Jay z decree. It'd be aboard Madame. That's all I need. Because there's there's a lot of great artists who've never had an iguana record you know look at billboard the Saint Place Look Grammy's it doesn't solidify the cultural impact on the World Takashi. Six ninth problem with it was when he put his own Guba. He failed because of all the streams and the views that he should be number one but a song by Guerande and Justin Bieber to huge artist. Shot from number five always number one in the week that Takashi thought. He's going to be number one. Takashi reasoning was that one he was he deserved one because he had all these streams views whatever he hit two hundred million streams anyway and he wanted to get straight out of jail and having number a week you know continue to run his mouth. Which no-one Takashi. He was run his mouth when he was like number ninety eight on the billboard. He's he's GONNA run his mouth regardless so he made his long. Gt Post explain why he thinks he got gypped. His Company Company didn't audit on be aboard in found that Ariana Grande Dame bieber's single all of a sudden jumped number one after X. amount of units sold at one time off six credit cards. Basically implying that six credit cards bought nothing was like thirty thousand and fifty thousand streams units to help our number one. He was saying that there were streams of. Here's that weren't being counted. That should have put him above God Aaron Garage Justin Bieber He was his argument. Is Basically accusing billboard of manipulating numbers? Because they were off by Grandes Record Company. Scooter Braun. Who Was Anna. Grant Manager Justin Bieber and Iran Guerande. Unfortunately responded to the crash just ignored him because he feeds off of that attention scooter. Braun had the better response. He was saying that one six credit cards can't buy that the units billboard audits all sales and you only buy four units off one credit card so even right now me and phrase bring the people that we all have decided to go into baton copies of an album offline critical. They wouldn't count ten albums. He also said that Takashi is reading his dreams wrong as well because he takashi was reading history is based off worldwide streams. Be about only counts domestic. Which is why. It's number one song in the country. That's the number one song in the world in the world and scooter also say that when when they when they looked into it they did find that there was a certain video. That was getting a bunch of weird views from bites but that'd be which took him saying your video your video views about and you just make you to get that at once by thought. That's really what it boils down to. He wanted to know who wants by heating Giddy. He felt like he should have had it and then are on ground day and Justin Bieber as you say as they last week to big popstars yes way. Bigger than he is shadow from number five won't BE BORED NUMBER ONE ON BILLBOARD WHICH. I didn't think that was that far fetched like Becky like that can happen. I didn't think that was like so for. Fish is Arianna Guerande and just be on one's own. He would have a better argument had been him against because while I think right now what did. I don't think this is an opinion. Does she can't is the big artist and he is now definitely just as new as he is so he can say well. You know we Kinda came at the same time. I might have a bigger chance against does your cat or even making they had number one and two spot but against Guerande Sir Sir Sir. Ariana Grande and beamer. How many preteens like Grendade like? It's very plausible. The Iran guerande combined with Justin Bieber. Took you down from being number one. It's very they have a lot of very likely is also very plausible that yes. I spent a lot of money doing that. Song Service to every radio station in the country service stations won't play him so that he his whole argument. That will be the number one because I have all these streams of youtube boy last dreams off youtube. He's never had a number one able most number. One streamed artists on you to definitely as we say last week three years in a row so yes notice not how it works. Here's what I looked at it when he had his cry hill. Because you know Takashi all the he does. This point to me is a cry for help. Takashi doesn't have much to be really excited about his life currently yes always move because people find out where he's living because he's basically on the run it would his protection. He's not able to sit in the house exactly. He's he's not able to enjoy the money that he has. Because people said well he accumulate all this money because he's a jail road stacking up which clearly plausible really plausible. But he's rich Dune with unwitted. He can't go out to no clue you. Can you know. Probably go to the store by himself. So Takashi wanted that number one so we could finally have something to really really be excited about like this. This is my this is my moment. You know everything else that I've done is clad in a controversy or I can't enjoy the way I normally would let me have this number one taken away from him by somebody he didn't see coming. Which once again is bad it on his part. Because it's just two people think taken down by a new macklemore song. Something so I think that that is. Would you know kind of hurt his ego? But I mean I mean. Is he going to continue to be hurt? Because there are just there are just artists are bigger artists him. And who have bigger and more stable fan bases than he has like you say. That's a mistake on his part that he didn't see it coming is not like you said it's not like it was unknown guy no annot artist or artists. It hasn't been out in a while or some artists just building his fan. Their fan base isn't it was to artists who have been out for less ten plus years and who have amassed huge fan base. Are you saying many preteen love oriented Groti Arianna Granny and Justin Bieber? Like your shock. Did you didn't get one. And they shot up from five to one light bridges like as soon as I heard that I believe. That's what's so funny about it. You really thought you were bigger than boy. Ego is through the roof. I'm saying like the Hubris. I think I'm I think I'm a better basketball player. Some people would. I've never actually played them and I'm pretty sure they beat me. But Wow wow. I'm not going to get on the Internet. I could take steph curry curry. Noboby no Brad by Russia. Thought he could guard. Michael Games. Workout go show can just was was just dadge. Is that what you're crazy because like I say what I thought Song I was like? Oh Arianna girl like Arianna granny alone could beat him out of a number one even funnier because thinking. If we're making Jordan analogies Takashi is Gary Payton and Michael Jordan. I had no problem with the glove. Had No problem with gaping. You had no problem with the glow you thought you would take an Justin Bieber. Read a little about just now because he's not as powerful as the world's when he had the Bam Bam haircut Bush deal bigger into he's still be cash best too much preteen Powell combined. That's just too much have been a lot of people that are run around with Bieber fever though.

"Week against will be count her as a popstar. Pops are one of the more recent popstars Llama del Ray who just want a grammy in February for what she could have a great i. I can't name one album so I don't know I know. She got it from Norman if it was because we here at UTA explained sounds off. Norman Rockwell. That's unreasonable reason. Why the name and album because I had to play on Fridays recent Grammy Wintering Popstar. Lana del. Rey. Had A quite a bit to say about a basically historic day that was on billboard of four black women topping the billboard charts number one and two position with the so remakes and savage remix by those you. Nikki and make the stallion and say yes. She kind of went on this long. Instagram rant. Actually have it in front of me? We'll go ahead and read it my good Sir or reported six paragraphs I just do the first one which is the when it. Kinda got everybody's mostly attention so she said question for the culture now. The does your cat. Ariana Camilla Cardi B. Kahlani Nicki Menaj and beyond say I've had number ones with songs about being sexy wearing no clothes six cheating etc. Can I please go back to singing about being embodied feeling beautiful by being love even if the relationship is perfect? Are Dancing for money. Whatever I want without being crucified are saying that I'm glamorizing. Abuse took questions. I have first question. She was thinking about for with me. If somebody put a gun to my head told me seeing Lane Lane del Rey song. I'd say let me call my wife my I just. I just found that that that one statement funny. Because you're complaining that's like you WanNa go back to singing about that and yet the women at you name. Some of them have like one of them at least was someone who danced for money. Well like quite literally was a stripper and doesn't shy away from that. But you just want to go back seeing anybody and my second question was what coacher was. Lana del Rey. Talking to or asking the question posed the question to I my first point well I communist. I was going to be mediocre. Artists always have the biggest opinions. And she. I don't care who's fans over and she's been mediocre. She's always been mediocre. You know whatever I only know about Lana del Rey. Because I believe her ace at rocky would I don't care the only reason why I know who she and he was in a video he was supposed to be JFK? That's only one but I think it's very telling that she singled out mostly urban artists. You know you can make arguments that GONNA grinding. They want to go to you. I'll go there. Grand Lean sometimes to urban music she collaborates rappers pretty consistently Camila Cabello. Definitely her going for real. So that's telling that later del Rey decide to go after those artists like this other pop artists this other. You know auld rock artists who seeing ramp. I'm not saying would you know? Make them you similar to the complaints. That Lena del Ray had but she's thinking about those specific artists because they're the big artists and she is very telling because sometimes people outside the culture like to have a strong opinion on the culture that they know nothing about and that's where they make that mistake it. I don't know that much about rock music outside of the surface level stuff. I'M NOT GONNA go into this big long rant on instagram about music. In the same way it was back in the eighties. Look whatever I like biscuits from my opinion rock is very limited but I. It's very unfortunate that detailed as successful as this year to single out those women founded in like you had no problem donating video when you want to lean on a quarter for that female pattern by talking down on other other women. You you've got quarantine. We understand it goes. It goes goes to something that I think everybody is saying that. Like a lot of popstars when the culture is an coach is accepting of them. There are four but wants something within the coacher doesn't fit their mold. They they ready to do away with the once. They get what they need from coach. They're done and they really do away with it. Kind of seemed like a lot of has done here like you said. Gena have an issue with coach or anything when she had ACS Rocky Island Video Lewis knows. He's not the Gospel Rapper. And that's what happens a lot to prison me off the people outside of the coach who like to lean on the culture for for relevancy or to be you know acclimated by us and then as soon as things go the way they want to. They start talking down. Miley CYRUS FAMOUSLY. Did it You know other counters ought to do that. They'll they'll they'll jump inside here and say hey. I need rapid my song rapid my video and then as soon as you know that wave data and like wrapped in in all these women just saying things that just so wrong whatever. Whatever he's been guilty. Which is why we need. Stop inviting people to barbecues. I've been saying that some people do not need to be the people dead. Do not have our best interests at.

"Hip Hop show on nine in Austin Texas my co host fresh in our native off the nights and we love talking hip hop pop hip hop history. And what's going on right now and just so you know. The opinions expressed in this podcast. Our own and do not necessarily reflect the position of white became insist right Allston. We are back on air. I am fresh thyme Confucius and we are as always thousands number one hip hop and rb show. The brakes. Feels good to be back on air. I assume you've been the same as last week since we still cutting quarantine down here. Alston bars starting bars clubs started backup so it's put me back into work. You know. Feel a little indifferent about that. You know one hand is good to have more income but on the other hand you know some kind of anxiously how how different things are going to be. We'll see you know I've I've I mainly stressed about it. It's not. It's not something that I have children so in clubs genuinely places So I don't know Was the one thing I am not. I'm getting real tired of like you know from Dj's but just people in general is this whole sense of like entitled Not Entitlement would like superiority to. I'm not going out until July until August like okay. That's that's getting tyrant I've said it amongst like between like in the conversation between me you and other friends me. I haven't been also she media just like I can't believe they're reopening re opened in the state. I'm not going outside until you like I get it. You're not gonNA go outside and sit in continued seeing your house express all of that. Yeah exactly that's that's kind of my stands on luggage. We have a conversation most. Hey I don't feel going out to Wasi but I see people making like. Facebook status is and twitter status. Calm down and As we as we were saying last week I think we say the last week or we we at least you talk about it like this was inevitable. It was a bound to happen that things open up the economy in Texas let alone the rest of the country couldn't can't sustain itself just off of quote unquote essential jobs and essential. Work is like we can't is in so everybody knew it was gonNA open. It is something you just have to deal with man. You don't want to go outside. Don't go outside. I think mentally. I had myself period for full more time to before I went back to work. So that's why I think my anxiety kind of kicked in because I was like oh I have you know maybe a couple more weeks to find it. You know when it's kind of obvious things are going their way but this one because our governor had been saying like. Hey you know there's phases to what things can opened up but they never gave any hints that may eighteenth would be the actual day. The bars and restaurants are open because I was reading different articles where bar owners were saying. They don't know to like I. Of course I know bar owners club owners and they were saying the same thing that we don't know anything going on. Sounds like oh well you know. Maybe the government doesn't want to say anything because he doesn't know either and he doesn't WanNa give anybody false hope but then made team came sticking to his plan you know the DJ too. That's another thing I kind of you know. Little nervous anxious back. I'm kind of I don't know if I'm rusty muscle memory when it comes to Dj and Jamie is karate. Do I've been doing it long. Somebody gets too close mackin round hausky pretty deal. But I'm hoping but roundhouse kick and knock you out. I'm going around Hausky is hopefully you? Don't get back up connecting hurt a little bit. So yeah I'm I'm going to. I'm going to start going to my job. A little early to try to get some practice to pack practice scratching and mixing go ahead and hop on live man. I'm not doing all that but we do. I live that's enough. That's enough. Dj and right there not true that is true but you know there's so it's it's funny. How surprised people are quickly removed down from everything going on but as we talked about before s human nature we as humans. We love a sense of normalcy. Your control in the minute we lose it. We try to find a way to get back to it as fast as possible. Nature to want to control be in. We know what we've been hearing for years that you know global warming huge issue because it is and it seemed like most words. It's like. Hey well you know if it happens it happens but it happening exactly the same thing with like cove it. It's got to pump people like you know what if if I died so it's like we're rocky Ford and beat about a Russian. If he dies he dies so whatever. It's like it sucks. It sucks because a lot of was I feel at least people in my immediate circle and the people I communicate with on a regular basis have enough commonsense to realize how serious it is and the ramifications of it and you know has affected everybody but this majority people don't care I will be personally in the house so I'm not in a rush to just jump back out there ahead to a bar. I'm I'M GONNA play by year so this week against will be count her as a popstar. Pops are one of.

"I I just. I feel bad for him because he's probably exhausted. I don't know how he stays awake. It's doing Kellyanne Ryan. He's doing his morning show. He's also doing American idol at night. It just. There's no way this man isn't going to die of exhaustion anyway. Don't quote. Yeah exactly but the point is American. Idol is the third season of the rebooted show. Yikes but also it's over now. However they released a track like a couple of weeks ago and it was the we are the world thing that they did in the eighties while they they bring it up. Every you know few years when there's like a global troubles which is great because they make money and they donate to charities and this time they did it for the you know Corona virus however if you watch the music videos for this thing like. I think you both have right it is. Why didn't they just recorded on zoom because literally they are singing and they have these people superimposed over getty images of just American monuments but also American forests trees oceans beaches. It is tragic. You really have to watch it. It's hard to paint an accurate picture of how Awkward Tuesday. It is like a parody. It's eight is so it is a parody. It's so sad and you have like Lionel Richie like a projected over arches national park and he's given the thumbs up and she was like Oh. This song isn't even good anymore. And it's just like you know what you should have recorded on zoom. It would have been a lot better than trying to project. These people over national monuments. Amelia I have a last minute unanswerable question for you. Would you rather have the rest of your life on a loop the does or whatever the hell that video was or this one? Oh my on it. Probably this one just because the because it's so absurd. An- and I I was like Oh God this is I could. There's so much to it that you could break it down and you at least get a little more. Entertainment Value ALGA dove video. They're just like I think I'm saying her. Like Jamie Dornan in a bathroom. Right on the Grand Canyon. It's better than Jamie one hundred percent day of the week. Okay Fair Fair Fair okay. Thank you guys so much listening. I miss you both K. Amelia and we're going to bring the group back together stand. We're GONNA yes so much. Thank you Kaya for editing. "Noah CENTENARIO DOTS I have a lot of thoughts. He's big he's burly he's Tan. He has the dumb jock energy. That Jacob Black needs right. You can sir easily transforming. He doesn't have because he. You need like a hit star. You need already. Someone like in the limelight. And he doesn't have that willowy. Pale kind of shadow esque figure of an Edward Colon so he has to be Jacob Black. You're right I think you're on the right track in terms of star. My question for you is. I know no Centenario is dumb enough to do this. But I don't think anyone is dumb enough to cast a white actor Jacob. Black in two thousand twenty. You know what? Okay you're right you know your pay and I'll say no sense. Nail would think that was the only guy I thought of because he had like the frame for it and it's just like that dumb Jock is ability. Do you know who that is? Yeah I sure do I. Honestly she's good for. She really do anything. I think you mentioned was that this wouldn't be like a four part movie series anymore. We don't think this would be like a CW net flicks show like a reverend at flag. Which yet it'd be. It should be like an over. The top kind of Netflix show like that which I had some inspiration based on thought I was Edwards top. It's hard to come up with an Edward Don and over the horrible way. I was going to say Charles Mountain. He's twenty nine and I was like we need to have actual teens so that was an overlay jakup. Okay maybe yeah okay. I hear I have two people. Alice Rohan Blanchard from girl meets world. She got the Pixie already. Got This very other worldly vibe. She's like yeah. I seen you know. She looks a little older than she is. She could pull it off. Here's my real inspiration. This is just a touch of do you know who's nineteen currently has very pale skin? Very long hair is a burgeoning actress in the world Very beautiful has a history with twilight franchise Mackenzie foy. You're GONNA see that. I fucking knew you were going to say that or would be a perfect Bella. That's much shoo-in. It's the prophecy. It's just it's meant to be. It's like a continuing cycle. And then she can have a creepy. Cgi baby and then that can be the next Bella. In the next part I remember. She deserves redemption. Your destiny. You're right that's perfect. You know what I had such a hard time figuring out Bella and I was like in order to get the teens to watch you have to get like a tiktok star. So you're going to die. I don't even know if you know who that says. But she's white her name. Is Charlie Demilio? Do you know that is adult? They got out of for the best. I don't WanNa talk about it. I might also storm. Reid could be really good. As yeah like her. Lot owed a Russian dumpling and also to anyway it was Kinda Slim pickens options. Don't teen actors? I know that's my problem too. It's up there's like that Netflix's heard and that's it. Yes exactly exactly so I think also the teens are too smart like by him to like dumb ass story now just smarter than we were so I feel like they gotta make it Edgier. They gotta make it maybe more dangerous. I Dunno the expect more nowadays. Yeah they could see all the flaws in the original story. It'd be like no right well. I'm sure we'll get. It's why remake one of these days. They're remaking everything I would say next five years we get. Tv show absolutely. We called it here. I listen up people now. We're closing the book on cringe. Ma Twilight I feel sad. Come back we'll come back with the different crunch mode at some point. Send US your suggestions. Yes okay last category in Amelia for unanswerable questions set Kate Hollowell takeaway. What's your question? I have a question about the snyder cut. Because it's a real thing if you aren't as online as we are for small congratulations second of all. The Snyder cut is a cut of Justice League. That Zack Snyder made before he left the movie. For personal reasons joss. Weeden came in people think he ruined the movie. Fans have been asking for Zach Signers version of this movie for years. People are like it's not real they'll never get it. Shut up it's happening. It's real it's happening on. Hbo Max my question is what movie do you want to see? Release their own Snyder. Cut which is like a different version of the movie than was seen originally in theaters. I have two answers not to keep going on toilet but I would like to see the chuck as May cut of twilight. Where instead of the? Cgi baby they just used the animatronic robot. Maybe you because I would like I would like to see and all of its glory and horror and then I would also like to see the cut of cats where instead of the CGI. It's just everyone in their motion capture suits and like James Corden licking his hand and rolling around on the for. I would like to see it. I think those are great answers. My answer I think the whole point is you have to feel really strongly about like a story you have to kind of bird about like what different thing so. My answer is really going to expose me but I did feel very strongly when these movies came out and when the story itself wrapped up take yourself back to the hunger games era basically Jennifer Lawrence had to choose between Pita Malarkey or gale. Hawthorne Gale Hawthorne played by Liam Hemsworth played by. What's that guy's name Josh? Hutcherson Josh Hutcherson. They give us full that out. Amazing Amazing Jennifer Lawrence picks. Josh Hutcherson his name. That does even feel right. He's still is Hutchinson or Hutcherson. It's Hutcherson I think. Let's see. Give me some credit place. Okay sorry go ahead. Okay okay. Jennifer Lawrence ends up with Josh Hutcherson at five nine glory which has got her steady right. Bayer Hunterston is actually five. Go okay. I'm not trying to that's fine. That's fine but I just feel like to swallow some stuff. I I just feel like given the option Jennifer Lawrence. Maybe should've made and it also made a better childhood best friends in the story. It was just like a better end up. But that's in the story right in the book she ends up with Pita but she ends up with Liam. Hemsworth my problem so I need Francis Lawrence cut because he directed the last hunger games and I need to see a different ending. That's fair honestly. That doesn't make sense. You go with Josh Hutcherson. So I agree Let's when you know it's true love though you know. That's that's true now but you can stand on. Stoltze fine warning the answer. I Don. I'm just like you know it's a movie great. That's whatever I'm sorry I. Yeah Wow okay. Well we're going into your unanswerable questions so go ahead yes. Thank you okay so recently. My friend actually texted me and he was like do you know about the Ryan. Seacrest Like aneurysm and I was like excuse me. He's fine. He's totally fine. He just had a weird appearance. On like the finale of American idol and he just looked kind of out of it and his eyes were a little droopy. But you gotta remember that this man. He is going coast to literally coast to coast every day. And.

"Not spawn. Either pro or con post mates. Liz Ordered Butts Mates sidebar. Why can I never get fries from shake shack when ordering post mates really weird calling airports airports driver out the end the enterprise? So did I. Guess maybe didn't give the phone number or didn't give a complete address. I mean who who can say. Hey but somehow the driver did not connect and then Liz oh screen grabbed the driver and put the driver on social media. It was basically like this terrible. She said they stole my food right. Yes I don't even think. The Post means drivers. Suing Lizardo is the latest development and and the post rape driver got a dockside gas. And like and this is not this is not a good thing and this is ultimately when when you have have all these resources as suppose why do there's like a moral and ethical valence to them in like how you weaponized them. And that's why I think I was frustrated by the Taylor thing because I saw her handling her fans in a way that she has not previously handled her fans and the little vein. This is like some real low stakes like you know like my my chicken tenders and fudd fought in show up and like all of a sudden. This poor person's life is ruined for months about the power dynamic again. It's about the artist not understanding or maybe understanding understanding and coming from a place that of questionable morals. I someone like a very famous popstar to too sick. Their fans on post mates driver is the optics of that are not great. I'll say look. This is a much less interesting and controversial case because it's pretty clear we're like scholarship on scooter. Braun are obviously not on the same level as opposed mace driver public figures they are very rich men etc.. The only thing I'll say is Liz got really famous really fast like this. Probably something she would have done. You know two years eighteen months ago and it would have been like pretty normal. Aw Right like from this episode is you are pro artists drag no. I'm just asking the question very hard hard pivot for artists and just trying to make more interesting than saying everyone is bad except us. I totally degree and again the thing that I was really excited about a lot of things I do. Think on some level it was on the merits. It'd be like you have said that I reference or influenced by ABMC. See and. I do not believe there. Is I think a particular part that she was taking offense at is. There's a part in the piece where Anna's comparing side-by-side Joni Mitchell lyrics to Lana del Rey lyrics. which like most people's bars are going to pale in comparison to any given Joni Mitchell lyric like it felt a little bit apples apples and oranges? But then I think she brought it back around to a point of the way that Lana del Rey is is putting lyrics together and putting these this pastiche of American American Cigna fires and just other songs that she references like. It's a different kind of virtuosity and got back around to there. But I I think the reading that Lana took away was like yeah. I'm not turning Mitchell Lake. Should we may close out with what I feels like. Maybe the funniest I recent artists V. critic blow up and you have it. Does that mean we have to listen to Ajay. Pacman does well. You're about to get added by him on twitter excited. It's so against searchable podcasts. Yeah absolutely I mean. First of all WHO's pros eligible. podcast happening I know it's happening. Yeah we're going to. That's mad out. I can't wait to have that conversation anyway. Okay so Al Pierre Our pitch for Al's it's been on podcast a couple of times if you follow Allen twitter or listen to pop guys you know that. He has a robust sense of humor. A- troll quality to him useful exuberance Zuber yes but to me like a very loving way like it reminds me a lot of like if I had like had a twitter when I was twenty two and like didn't have any concerns about my a future career so I very much respect expressing your love and also your distaste through this mechanism especially while he still has a job but she probably be. We'll do this. Who Don't and have jobs in fact? He's still does it while he has a job. I find very admirable anyway. Allah wrote on twitter last month. I there was some kerfuffle burgeoning joining beef with Jay bug mafia mafia as a a sort of like avant rapper from Baltimore. I guess like post post both deaf trips. I actually don't hate Jay Black Mafia. I know people do I think Bobby is fine. Alpha's somebody tells Jay back Mafia. No hard feelings. I just grew up on the classics. Like like Naff so his music. Does it like that for me. which is just like obvious humor? It's obviously funny. E clearly doesn't like J. Bag mafia but he's also like locating it in a humorous context. Now that's more of a shot to nap than anything and then mafia responds and he was not added. I want to emphasize he was not added in this tweet Ah So he just tweet deck names himself and said I want you to say this to my I face and then posts. His tour dates and says hit me up. Little boy was up. Say it to my face in New York next month. Now as far as I no J. Peg or Peggy as he is known and Al have not fought the fair one. Like there's no that no one's pulled up as far as I understand but but there's also a thing where he shaping bobby continually refers to Al as conde which is really funny. It's super super funny as if like it's like will Welsh from G. Q.. Like reviewing the corporate problems. Yeah there's AH messing with Jada but then. The punchline is if you search tweets on Daybreak Mafias Account You'll stumble on some from late December twenty eighteen gene after a different writer. Paul Thompson had written something very positive about the last APEC Mafia called veteran and then Jake Mafia at that point was extremely excited and said all L. Conde Nast and then they different tweet said I hope. Twenty nineteen is a good year dot dot dot. This tweet is sponsored by Conde. NAST CONDE GIVE in Conde Taketh away to hear it then or that was your commentary. No that's me the given given that is that is just my. That's my dry commentary situation Aw so Ito's interesting to see the kind of like online discourse going up because like at a very big twitter following jp as a similar size twitter following but like different kinds of folks and in a weird way. This is a fairer fight right like all the all the fights we've been talking about have been fundamentally. EPA symmetric unfair fights. This is sort of a fair scrap. You know I don't want anything. Negative to come out of it. I don't want anyone pull up on anybody but I saw this and I was like l.. Follow like here's how trolling understanding. There's a potential cost comes trolling. Here's Jay Bobby who like maybe low key is spoken about controlling back. Yeah and EH tweet a tweet. Ultimately we're learning about the media literacy of our favorite artists. Yes Lana knows about the editing structure. Yes J back. Mafia knows about corporate owner Chen. Lozano's that we all got kicked out of band knows about private equity last last hour so I guess I want to close out with Ajay. Thank Mafia song. Joe If you WANNA leave the studio no look. I'm not managing podcast. Core what you think it is. I have to think about that Dan. J Yeah it wouldn't go on the three disc greatest. Greatest Hits soundtracks fair podcasts. That's fair but this is actually pretty good. So let's go out with Jesus. Forgive me I am thought. Budget Bag. Mafia great title.

"Not awesome scheduled to perform a medley of her decade essentially. Yes not a real thing. Just moving music awards. You WanNA finish. What she she what her demands were before I start decimating them? Yeah I think probably American music awards ratings where like not that far legrand means last year. Like I'll just put that out there. I don't have them in front of me but like people's choice. It's like out in her nurse. She was like. I didn't want you guys to find out this way. But I'm the artist of the decade who. I didn't want you to find out this was about the second second part which was the Nasdaq. Yes okay so Taylor. Also that's Netflix. had been making a documentary about Taylor swift right. WHO's producing it though like we don't in house drake so for both of those things? Taylor was touching on her old music. So Oh this is where it gets a little wonky Taylor says that she has been blocked by big machine from using hurled music. Not only in the netflix documentary in which they'd they'd like to use what the song sounded library. In addition to video footage and other things owned by big machine but also that she believes that she would need need her old label to sign off on her performance of these old songs on TV. Even though typically a label doesn't have anything to do with a live performance performance but because this is a television show that can be recorded and re aired auto on Youtube then the label will need to sign off off. And that's a pretty broad reading of a RE recording clause. So do we know if that is Taylor's read of it or if it's big machines because of life sentences it was big machines read as communicated through lawyers to Taylor. Taylor's version is that she was told you cannot perform formula songs at the American music awards and you cannot use them in this Netflix documentary. Unless you agree to not rerecord your mic in the future and and you stop talking bad about Scott and scooter this Taylor's version big machines says we never said you couldn't perform old songs. We've continued to license your music. To third parties both sides statements could be a little squishy with the wording a little careful very lawyer. Big Machine is is denying that they were trying to stop her from playing our songs. She says that they threatened to not let her. I saw an email in which someone from big machine said. Were denying the use of these songs for the net flicks documentary so they did deny at least once whether or not that negotiation was ongoing going. Maybe that was a bargaining chip. You know this all seen yes we know what is going on between these shoot the the takeaway is that they. They're both angling on this chess. Board Taylor wants to own her. Masters big machine wants to be able to licensed Taylor swift songs. Because that was their money where their money is but also to have her not rerecord so that it is important to understand that these are two combatants who do not actually have the same goal. Taylor's goal I believe and this is. We're speculating year. But Taylorsville I believe is to ultimately find a way to be back in control of of her art right of her catalog whether that's a moral choice or financial choice or a psychological victory. Not One hundred percents. Sure all those things but I think that is is what Taylor wants. What big machine wants us to leverage this asset which cooder what Ithaca wants us to leverage this asset for every possible dollar caller that can be drawn out of it sure and maybe that's long-term maybe? That's not the netflix documentary. But they want to make the most of Taylor's catalog for for many decades tassell and but those are not the same and they're not compatible necessarily and it it makes more more sense. Why Taylor did what she did this week because of her her goals her desires right so she basically posts on tumbler she? She reveals all of these backroom negotiations and she says to her fans. I need you to tell Scott. I need you to tell scooter. I need you to tell. There are affiliated artists. And I need you to tell the Carlisle Group. I'm paraphrasing that. This isn't right and that I should be in control of my music. It just occurred to me that there's Someone in the Carlisle Group building like Taylor. Swift supreme drop while someone someone's doing that right now anyway. Just file that away when when that happens like twenty seven years from activating the fans we have talked about stands. We've talked about fan armies. We've talked about their destructive power on podcast previously. A I was very struck because it really was a declaration of war and not just a declaration of war in the Court of public opinion but also there are fewer weighs more guaranteed to make someone's life miserable than by sticking hundreds of thousands of basically young kids with a lot lot of free time and a lot of hate in their hearts on you. I don't know if I agree with that. Would a scooter have to turn off the comments on his instagram. Like should shut his his voice. Mail down like maybe they unplug the phones at Ashby Projects Office ultimately. I don't know that the fans are any real threat but I think this it really also speaks to audiences. Each of them are playing to sure Taylor only speaking to her corn her dedicated her base the demo. And that's all she's concerned about and to go back to the AMA's the AMA's. I mean I hate to like break anyone's heart here but the aim as a fake award show I mean the declerk productions driven thing. It's not rooted in like real voting. I'M GONNA GET CHOSEN NOT I know. But I'M GONNA get some like weird email from Dick Clark. Productions is but like whatever. It's not a real award show. John Kerry Monica's opinion. This is my opinion. I've been to the AMA's. I'm sad doubt I'll be invited us. Ask Move Rag when you're unhappy about it like hey you to find out this. It's just it's just not a real thing. It televised event. It's great for the fans. It's a concert televised call. Yeah but it's not sorta like like later in life you're not slyke. My lifelong dreams fulfilled I performed on the AM. I don't think the AMA's are the real flag. No but but again it's a false flag design to activate the fans should TJ perspective. I think the use of the. Ama's here by Taylor. And I I do believe that. There was some friction about what she could perform on the show as a larger part of the bargaining between the two sides. But I think her leading with that strategically Egypt is important because fans do care about seeing Taylor live and they care about what songs she's GonNa play. And that's an easier thing to grasp I think for your average Taylor Swift Fan than the licensing for Netflix documentary or the long term health of her and control of catalog. Yes it's a much more immediate thing to say. I want to show you guys how much I love you by playing all your favorite songs from the last ten years and these guys are trying to stop doing that so from. I'm a writing perspective and a strategic perspective. I thought that was pretty shrewd as are most things that Taylor does to ask a a legal question for experts experts here. This wouldn't have any bearing on what she played in concert correct. It's only if it was televised or US there. It is that big machine would say. This violates her re recording provisions so presumably you know as most standard industry contracts have something something to protect the label from the very thing that Taylor has threatened to do which is to rerecord her catalog and according to Taylor she says her those provisions run out in twenty twenty and she for the first and she and she's saying that their legal contention is that by playing old songs things now she would be violating provisions before it runs out now. A wrinkle here is that Taylor has performed old songs online Recently she did holy ground on BBC Live Lounge and she did all too well On. NPR tiny desk so presumably big machine would have either had to approve those things or been upset about them after the fact and said that those in fact were a violation of her. Are we recording now. If they were really takes us to the logical end they would sue her for doing that in some way saying she is image of contract. Will it get to that probably really not again. I think these are these are chestnut. These are chess moves. Should we listen to a song that would be particularly vulnerable to a battery recording shirt the fifteen go. Oh Yeah fifteen and tried to imagine L. Taylor thirty almost. Let's try to the thirty year old Taylor singing that Song Oji version. Yeah.

"Everything you read about this read about things progress we constantly say the site rose to prominence in the shadow of the Bush administration and helped define progressivism during the Obama years it made me think about the you know the story we covered not long ago about breitbart traffic dropping off and I kind of wonder if like back you know if there's an expiration date on opposition media you know do you just get one or two presidential cycles and then you know there's not you know people find different websites to go to. I don't know what's your take on this whole thing. Well I mean I guess I was is one of those one of those that did this have to to happen and I saw a lot of people pointed this out on twitter at Tom. Steer was until August a board member at the Center for American progress and a lot of people pointed out. Wait a second it what if instead of dumping one hundred million dollars into a presidential run. That's probably going to be useless worthless. What if he just bought think progress. What if he just made up the three million dollar shortfall she wouldn't that. Wouldn't that be a good idea. Yeah Wendy's does to some extent sites sites like this and you know it's precursors which is journals like the new Republican. The weekly standard depend on a patron. It's hard for them to make money. It's going to be somebody who decides this. This is important enough that I WANNA lose money a little bit of money on this every month and every year so why is it really not a liberal patron out there who thinks this is important and all these people that that kind of surprises me yeah and there's just so much anti-trump money floating flu around the world right now that it's hard to believe that site like that that did a ton of great work wouldn't have somebody who would just you know sort sort of take some version of that site and say let's do it. It's just really weird it is that is very strange when you put it that way. I mean I wonder if these people I mean the potential investors. The potential donors. Tom Stares of the world are constantly being courted for their money right. I mean in one and maybe maybe it's the case that you you're so many you just have so many presentations ends about the most the most current the most modern the most technologically sophisticated way to spend your money to positively affect the world in the way that you think it should be affected. You know maybe someone income someone coming along and saying like do you want to buy a blog doesn't have a whole lot of urgency to it. You know I mean despite all the wonderful things at this website is done over the years yeah yeah. It's not as satisfying as do you. WanNa start an impeachment drive or do you. WanNa give you know join the Yang gang or something like that. I think because it just doesn't seem I like it doesn't seem like it. It doesn't seem like advocacy in the same way. It doesn't seem like it has the same emotional payoff but you know what it may be better in the long run uh-huh and throwing money at at a presidential campaign or it's something that's just not going to do anything yeah. it's interesting. You're right I mean I guess it's the problem. The hard thing about a thing like that is explaining it to people. That's why I think you need the rich patron who's like Oh. I like I like it. I know exactly what it is or what it what it could be. An- and I'm behind that yeah I I agree. I agree. I went one of the things that sort of I I enjoyed rose reading you know all the various post-mortems about saint progress actually ended up upon I think on their on their wikipedia page where it said in its early years thing progress include a daily newsletter that incl- include a recap announces a major political news and the blog wonk room which was published until two thousand eleven before being subsumed into the main site believe. There's a nice like history of blogging or history of like web publication that like this is that you can kind of trace through think progress. There's also a lot of attention given to its notable Alumna alumni who are almost into numerous dimension. I mean there's a lot of really significant writers who came out who who came out of that site but but you know there's all but but this is but it it was such a sort of it existed as such a seminal moment not just for progressive politics but for like writing on the Internet that part of it. I think was just like they were They were hiring in like the mid-2000s in Washington. DC when people when like good brilliant people were flocking there to become a part of the new media establishment you know so a lot of people sort of a lot of people a lot the people that was their first great job you know that was the first opportunity they were given and and you know the the site will always be significant because of what it's the best it does feel like a moment and blogosphere time when you name. Partier site walk room. Yeah we laugh but at the time that makes perfect sense walk through I mean so much time we spend roots policy writer so much time we spent like designating igniting the subsections right. I mean nate like like if you were a writer for a site the best like the best thing that could happen to you was to begin your own sub blog on the site right. I mean and later those things became verticals which are now which now don't really exist widely anymore. It's more about identity. You know I mean accepting the biggest publications obviously but yeah I mean it was. It's definitely moment in time. Natalie Portman denies Moby's claims they dated
"Natalie Portman actress, so Moby bragged in his book that he dated Natalie Portman at one point, he, he said, in kind of a humble brag, he said here, I was in my dressing room in this movie star was flirting with me. She claims she never flirted with them. He was creepy to her. She claimed he was a creepy older man who behaved inappropriately with her. He said, I was twenty she said in his book, he said he was thirty three and she was twenty. He said, I was twenty I definitely wasn't I was a teenager. I just turned eighteen there was no fact checking hammers publisher he goes on to say, no, no, they dated any says, I don't know why she would say such when we in fact dated, and we kissed under the trees at Harvard University, and he smuggled with her, and her dorm, and then once she fell asleep, he removed her arm and went back to his hotel. So I guess they didn't do anything more. Have you heard music? Poppy happy. He's do you who do you believe here? And is this another case of we were just talking about some guy will say, no, I was mentoring her, and I was being kind can be she said no use being creepy. They both have their own interpretation of this, Joe. Well, I think this sounds well, Mobis known vegan activist. So I think is lower testosterone affected his memory. Is real beta male moved to think I thought we were dating. Now, now she just being nice to you clown, used to play guitar in punk band called that can commandos. That's right. Yeah. Vatican. Yeah. If you really want it, look, I guess, this book, he had an interaction with Lana del Rey before she was famous, apparently trying to lure her back to his place to play the piano, and she shut him down. Really good. And even the expert he's like, I couldn't tell shoes, insulting me or not. It's like dude that verbally throwing a drink in your face. Well, tell you when you years ago, if you a rock musician and you got famous part of, you know, the fringe benefits of being a rock musician was young gals in coming back to your dressing room. I mean that's and Moby was trying to ride into that. But he's, you know, he's got admit the, he's the guy him and all his friends brought in this modern era. Yeah, but, you know, okay, fine groupies, but now, he's shooting, a little high with Natalie Portman, they're, you know, okay mic. So I think so of him, he said, I'm sure she was. But it doesn't mean she was sexually attracted to him, or even if she was it doesn't mean as I remember being twenty and you know, you could be attracted to a guy in his thirties, but, you know, doesn't mean you would hook up with him. That's like Super Bowl to old, I'm doing the math here. He said in his book, he was thirty three she was twenty and they dated and he talked about. She was twenty she was in my dressing room. She was flirting with me. She. She said I was young. I was barely eighteen fifty three. She's thirty seven. I'm doing the math here that sixteen years if he was thirty three she was seventeen. Even his own story where he gets to. So we were back to her dorm. No, not even your own recollections. It don't go back to the dorm when you're definitely thirty three year olds should not be going to the dorm Eero. Yeah. No. I mean today, really are like fifteen to completing that's a good point. You made though because I remember when I was in my twenties and someone who is thirty. You couldn't believe that they were spry enough to walk like you don't have any conception. Oh, yeah. There. I mean, come on, when you first in the city and you're working with other comics. And you think in yourself how old is guy like thirty? Yeah, you still at it. He's real. Meanwhile, cut to me, I'm like, you know. Late thirties. And I'm still going, I finally get by get booked on Conan. I was like
