"I don't know if they'll neces better than West Virginia. But Jamie Dixon is a good coach. Like, this is a situation where, oh yeah, it's some coach who doesn't know how to get the best out of rosters. Jamie Dixon can coach man. Like, I think that this is a legit tournament team. That's where I'm at. As a team. Are we sure? Can you still coach? Did he just ride bet Holland's coattails to a couple sweet 16s? Honestly, I don't think so. Because like you go back and you look, trust me, man, like I grew up in pit. I grew up. During the day Jamie Dixon era, he wrote the coattails of the first sweet 16, but like fourth year there, sweet 16. 6th year there elite was a number one seed in 2011, which I think was like his 8th year there. He's a good coach. Jamie Dixon is a very, very good knows how to get players in good positions basketball coach, which is whether or not he can recruit, I think is the question. He hasn't thus far a TCU outside of getting Desmond Bain in a couple other guys like Ken rich Williams. But I think that this year he finally has the actual talent he needs to be good. And if it doesn't work, by the way, if it doesn't work at TCU this year, then it might be time to move on from Jamie Dixon. Because they have enough talent to be good. Can I just say this about Oklahoma state? We don't have to go into the whole getting banned from the tournament thing because I don't need you to get that little explicit tag on your podcast. I curse all the time. What are we talking about here? It was bullshit. The whole thing was fucked up. Fucking bullshit. I've been that mad about a ruling that happened in college basketball in a long time. It is on we don't need it. Please explain what happened for people who don't know. They had an assistant coach named Lamont Evans, who was accepting bribes from a financial adviser that ended to funnel players to him. This financial adviser, his name was Marty blazer. He had stolen $2.35 million from clients to producing movie with Mischa Barton and Devin Sawa. And he got caught doing this by the SEC. And what he did was he went to the SEC and the FBI and he said, I can.

"All right, welcome in to another episode of the Goodman homo podcast. I'm Jeff Goodman resident Kentucky fan. He is Robbie hummel and he's been out in the golf course, plenty, was source tells me that you're putting socks. That source is accurate. At 40 plus today, 40 bucks. Very Riviera country club will never forgive me for this. 45 never be the same. The course might blow up. It might explode with the horrific funding that I heard that today. At least at least you got a good long game, right? Yeah, I played good otherwise. All right, there you go. You've had enough time to play. I just got to get a whole lot so much easier than putting. Man. All right, well, we've got some news this week. And you know, next week, the season starts and usually when we get closer, we start to get some news with some suspensions, things of that nature. Today, and we're recording this on what is today Wednesday. There was huge news that Oklahoma state, which had been hit with a one year postseason ban, and then they appealed it so that last year they didn't have to serve it and cade Cunningham the eventual number one pick was allowed to play in the NCAA tournament as were Mike boynton's cowboys. But today, the NCAA said, we are sticking with our original decision. And now we're going to hit you with that postseason band this year. And we're 6 days before the start of this is Iraq. They met with the NCAA with the committee back in February my point and told me earlier today. And they didn't have this decision till now. Like, you couldn't have done this at least, and we'll get to the decision itself in a minute. But my almost my bigger problem is, you couldn't have done this in July or June or even before these kids made their decisions to either transfer to Oklahoma state or whatnot, you know, now they can't go anywhere. And even if they can they're not eligible to play anywhere else. So they're stunt pretty much in stillwater where they can not play in the NCAA tournament. It's complete bullshit. I mean, the whole thing is complete bullshit to me at this point. I can't even remember what they did wrong. I Googled it when we I did Google what the problem or what the actual violation was. So I went there. Yeah, it was 300 bucks that Lamont Evans, I guess gave to a current player or something. Honestly, I don't know if I care anymore rob. I don't know if I care with any of these programs anymore. And I just want it all done and I think part of it is we got kids now able to make money through at IL. So I think that's changed. We'll get to that later. We'll get to that in a little bit. Exactly. Jesus, like, ban a week for the NCAA. Yeah, and again, it's like and so I get it. The rules are rules, but here's what I don't understand. And these are similar instances, okay?.

"Seems obviously unfair to Oklahoma state. So unless this guy who we who got us into this mess, and we fired appropriately. Unless he chooses to help us now, you're gonna punish us more. Like, it just doesn't. I don't think you can connect all those dots without reaching the conclusion that it's unfair. And so, listen, the NCAA knows what happens here because the federal government told us what happened here. And Le Mans Evans pleaded guilty to it. Like punish Oklahoma state or don't punish Oklahoma state. But to have it be determined to some degree by Lamont Evans cooperation, again, I don't think that should be a part of the process. I agree. And but it was. And oh, by the way, Oklahoma state, if you've listened to our previous pods, I think the top 30 team in the country certainly a team that would have otherwise been in a really good position to qualify with a comfortable and nice seed in the NCA tournament. Here's a little more background on what's going on here. So the only thing the N subway's investigation uncovered, I'm told by a source is that Evans was involved in a $300 payment to former Oklahoma state star, Jeffrey Carroll, Carol later paid back that money, and he served, you know, they have the sliding scale of punishments. That was worth a three game suspension during a senior season. He sat out for three games. He the school and the player faced that punishment head on. Otherwise the NCAA had nothing else that wasn't already talked about in the federal trial, which it has completely way of using. I think that's entirely fair. But Evans was not found to have illegally recruited anyone. In fact, I'm told that this is mind-blowing to me, okay? And we'll get into the other schools that are kind of waiting on stuff and the difference between Oklahoma state and some of these other ones. But Oklahoma state, as far as I know, is the first school to ever receive a postseason ban despite not doing one of these 5 major violations, being involved with them being accused of a period. Oklahoma state did not have a recruiting violation in this case, had no academic fraud. There was not a head coach responsibility charge, levied against Mike boynton, nor would there be because it was actually Brad Underwood's team when lemon heavens did much of this stuff. There was no lack of institutional control charge, no failure to monitor. Those 5. None of them levied against the program and yet there's a postseason ban. It's believed to be unprecedented in the history of NCAA infractions. And I went back and looked at our news story parish from June of 2020. What's just so like funny and I say that tongue in cheek is Larry Parkinson was a member of the COI. He was the guy who spoke on the conference call after Oklahoma state's news got handed out in June of 2020 before they eventually appealed. He said, quote, if they had not been accommodating, quote, maybe the result would have been different. But they fully cooperated and got the benefit of that. So this is the lenient punishment for Oklahoma state. Postseason ban on top of three years probation, which starts effective today, you get, they had to pay a $10,000 fine, plus 1% of the men's basketball budget, they got a reduction in three scholarships. They got a reduction in official visits and days on the road and phone calls, which they've already put into place there. So, yeah, it's a pretty it's a pretty heavy charge and the big, big headline is this is the first school to be handed out the biggest punishment you can get. Postseason band, right? Auburn and Arizona also had assistance arrested. They self imposed last season under different circumstances. Those programs are going through the IAR P, the independent accountability resolution process. USC was ruled on in April. No, perish. No postseason ban, South Carolina, Lamont Evans former spot where he was also I sat in that courtroom. I listened to the wiretaps. I watched him on video when he was at South Carolina. South Carolina. No postseason ban. So and I don't disagree with that. And if you want to make sure you should get a band, but here's my thing, GP. There's just there is no consistency whatsoever with this, just none. Lemont Evans broke the rules in the same fashion in the same style at South Carolina. They don't get a ban. And nor should they, but Oklahoma state does. That's where the NCL is ripe for a lot of criticism and deserving so. There's no question. Based on your understanding that no program that didn't check one of 5 level one violation boxes has never been given a postseason ban. That suggests that, you know, my instincts are correct that the punishment seems excesive. It doesn't seem to fit the crime. But beyond that, the upsetting thing if you're an Oklahoma state fan is like, it's not even consistent. Like, it'd be one thing if like, man, I don't think we should get hammered like this, and I also don't think South Carolina should have got hammered like that. And I also don't think USC should have got hammered. But like answer this question, if it were being asked by Oklahoma state fan. Why did we get a postseason ban? But South Carolina didn't and USC didn't. Give me your best shot at that. What I've been told and I did have when I remember questioning this either on the podcast or in tweet form, I did have someone obviously on the NCAA side, reach out to me and laid out why they're different. And basically, the answer I got back was what was presented at the trials with LeMond Evans and the amount of money he took while employed at Oklahoma state as opposed to the amount of money he agreed to or the schemes that he was involved in while at South Carolina was the biggest differentiating factor. At least 18,000 in bribes with the potential of more than 40,000. I'm not getting into the weeds and all that kind of stuff. We're long past that. I'm told that is the biggest difference there. That the majority of the money involvement and what he took was when he was at Oklahoma state, even though for all practical purposes, he agreed with Christian Dawkins scheme when he was at South Carolina. He got a job opportunity for Brad Underwood at Oklahoma state. That's one thing. And then with USC, the money amounts were also not as much, although I would argue that what I saw with USC was just as was just as incriminating, I guess, on video, again, it's hard for me to depict all of this because it's in a courtroom. It's not released for public consumption. You've got.

"Go. Hey there, it's scary parachutes Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. Welcome back to the CBS sports eye on college basketball podcast where we sometimes discuss camouflage dodo birds and leaky black Matt norlander is here with me and there is a significant breaking news in the sport this morning. Oklahoma state has lost its appeal with the NCAA so the cowboys will not be allowed to participate in the postseason this season. That means no big 12 tournament, no into the blade tournament. No in IT, know nothing. Their season will end March 5th with a game against Texas tech. Dreams ripped away by the NCAA just 6 days before the start of the 2021 22 season. Dead like you broke the news this morning. So I'll let you provide the details. And let's start with you just reminding listeners, why Oklahoma state found itself in this position? Yeah, I'll be thorough here, but I don't want to get too too deep in the weeds, but yes, reminder. More than four years ago, September 2017, the FBI announces it's done a stingray into bribery and fraud in college basketball. There were four assistants. You'll remember that were arrested that day, all four of those assistants eventually pled guilty. They were at USC, auburn, Arizona, and Oklahoma state, Lamont Evans was the assistant there. So in 2019, January of 2019, Lamont Evans eventually pleads guilty. He serves three months in federal prison later on in that year. And the NCAA's process, if you're wondering, wait a second. Yeah, this was in 2017. Why are we now it's November of 21? What? The reason was the federal government basically told the NCAA to sit the hell down right over there, and you can do your stuff once we're done all the stuff. So that put a year and a half to two years of a stall into this. And then the N sub I did this investigation. In June of 2020, dedicated to listeners of the podcast will remember that we did an emergency podcast on the fact that Oklahoma state was banned from the 2021 NCAA tournament. That was the levy handed down, okay? Oklahoma state within a two week period as is custom because it's the NCAA's procedure, appealed that. And the hope was because of the pandemic and other mitigating factors that they might be able to hold off that appeal long enough to get Kate Cunningham and the cowboys into the NCAA tournament that of course wound up being the case. What I don't think Oklahoma state anticipated was a 17 month wait, which is what we wound up dealing with here. On Wednesday, the NCAA announced after I broke the news that, yes, indeed, postseason ban for 21, 22 isn't effect. Basically, the punishment's just getting pushed back a year. Now, we thought this might be what wound up happening. But what's really and we can get into we can go back and forth with your GP on all this stuff. What's wild about this to me is obviously the timing. The procedure under which this was done, something that's not in my story which I'll have linked in the pod description here. I'm told that in February on the same day that Oklahoma state had to go and play at Kansas, the school and his coaching staff Mike boynton were called to the carpet by the appeals committee, and they had no choice but to oblige that request. They're and then of all the inconveniences at any point in the calendar. And this isn't appeals committee that meets in person infrequently. And could have really had this decision at any point in the prior 6, 8 months if it wanted to, and it didn't. It waited until 6 days before the start of the season, okay? And for them to do this now? GP. However you believe in Oklahoma state shooters should not have the postseason bandwidth into that. 6 days before the season, with players who were in the 8th grade when all this started, extremely extremely cruel. I got a few more details. I'll get to in a minute there. But that's kind of the backdrop. I called you to give you the heads up that this was coming, but we didn't really talk about your thoughts other than, you know, you kind of had the expected reaction that I did. What's your reaction to what we have here, which has become the biggest story in sports and college sports here on Wednesday? Well, I'm unsurprised, if only because appeals generally speaking, don't usually work, whether it's in the criminal justice system or with the NCAA. So I always assumed that Oklahoma state would get a postseason ban. So I'm not surprised that they're going to be banned from the 2022 NCAA tournament. I am skeptical that the punishment fits the crime. I think you've got a real argument there that, okay, listen, what happened happened, but really a postseason band for that? It's not like we were throwing around money and buying players or committing academic fraud. The only amount of money that it's ever been proven that went to a student athlete was 300 bucks in the student athlete service suspension for that. The punishment here doesn't fit the crime. If anybody wants to make that argument, I think I'm with you. I'm a little hesitant to feel sorry for the players, the way so many are anxious to feel sorry for the players. And it's not because it doesn't obviously suck to lose your postseason opportunity 6 days before the start of a season. Like that's a gut punch to every one of them this morning. But there's not a player on that roster. And this is just the truth. Isn't that a player that roster who didn't know this was a possibility? If not a probable outcome,.

"And also allegedly paying $40,000 to a high school coach to get Raleigh all can academically eligible. We don't know if that's confirmed or not. But anyway, Sean Miller's fingerprints never really been on this other than an ESPN report when I was there which was inaccurate in my opinion. I felt like it was inaccurate in which There was a conversation about DeAndre ayton getting a hundred thousand dollars involving Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins. We never really heard that conversation. We heard other conversations which song on the Christian Dawkins documentary if you want to call it, but now the big question becomes what happens Oklahoma State got a one-year job postseason ban for something similar probably at a little bit lesser level in terms of the the assistant coaches and what he did Lamont Evans But ultimately something similar the difference being Sean Miller here. Obviously a much bigger name in Mike Boynton wasn't really the heck. He just become the head coach. Yeah, right he wasn't there. So I think going forward like you can't fire. You can't show Mueller can't be fired today, right? Because right now it's just allegations of what he did, but I am I'd be surprised if six months down the road when when this investigation is done and and I think you'd need to go into there's no appeals process because of the way that this is going to go down and you can explain that but in six months we very well we very well may look at this and say showing our needs to be fired, you know, that's that's a very good possibility but we'll see how long is this is just the first step. This is in that part of it now has to prove it which is going to be easier said than done. I'm sure I'm not sure they have to prove it rap song. That's the thing with the NCAA Has Done Yet the way your people have Doug in. Yeah. "All right so while NBA is is. Has Been Quiet. College hoops. This still. News in the big news is last week was Oklahoma state. Gets hit with a one year postseason ban and it surprised a lot of people myself included partially because of the timing Bob. I just didn't think they were GonNa get hit when they got hit and I really didn't think it would be a one year postseason ban I thought it would be maybe a suspension for for the head coach, even though Mike Boynton. have been the head coach for only a matter of months. When when the assistant coach Lamont Evans was one of the four assistance that was wrapped up in the whole federal investigation, he took about twenty grand bribes to steer. Players to financial. Gosh, now again there was no Oklahoma state didn't really benefit because all the players were already done at that point, they were done he was trying to. Line is own pockets really. Those are the allegations that he was trying to land zone pockets. Steering these players with the influence he had to certain financial guys. but I was surprised. I think it. It certainly sets a precedent here that Most of the schools are going to have to get at least one year. postseason bans whether it's USC Arizona Auburn those three specifically. Bob Because they all had assistance that were in similar spots and took money whether or not again, but but Richardson claims he kept the money. Tony Bland at USC claims he never took the money period. Whatever the case. Chuck Person. I've talked just the big fish. Right the people well most. Yeah, he took the most money in. They're all saying. We did it rogue right that that the head coach had no idea they were doing it well. That was the case with Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. State played along with the incident cooperated, and they still got a one year postseason ban so. We'll see WHO's next NC. Here's the difference. The difference is Oklahoma State got hit through the committee of infractions, which is the old process which basically means the incident has all these people on a panel? That they may name in there, all affiliated with the way in some way, whether it's presidents, or you know academia whatever it is, they're the judge and jury. Now there's a new independent process that's GonNa be implemented very very soon here with NC, state and probably a lot of the other schools. My question was why the Hell would you had? Oklahoma state goes through that. You should have all the schools that were dealing. We've certainly the federal investigation having one of the assistant coach. They've they all wear the same bucky like have. Have Them Be. Go through the same new process, in which it's independent people not people that are affiliated with the NC Double A.. I'm. Very, logical question, very fair question, you know, and by the way for people who may not know you said well okay. It's Oklahoma state. you know a? Big Deal says well is going to be a very important year for Oklahoma State of folks because it landed a huge fish in the old traditional way..

"Are Now please to welcome in the head coach of Oklahoma state he is Mike. and. Even, though you've been through a lot of the last few days Mike, you still look pretty good. You're still smiling. I know you're you're always kind of glass. Type of Guy, but it has to be tough with everything that you and the program have gone through. Over the last few days, getting the one year postseason, Ban lots of scholarships I, said listen. You can deal with everything else Mike but to me. The the postseason ban is the one that is the most difficult to deal with What's it been like the whirlwind on Friday, in which you guys were hit with this seemingly out of nowhere. and. It's really critical. If you just Kinda think about what we've been trying to do for three years since I've been head coach and really fighting with this cloud over our heads the entire time anyway, so just get into a place where now we kind of like we got a little bit tailwind. Before we've been fighting head when. The entire three years we felt like we got some momentum and excitement around program. Some Bro expectations that we could be coming prominent again on national level. In the just Kinda be slapped with this not that it was. We know we're going through the investigation, so I'm not saying that they just came out of no winslet. This on us but I never imagined when I woke up on Friday morning that that the penalties that they handed out would be what they were because the facts of the case. Just don't support that level of a penalty. If, you stripped down the case in and of itself. In we just removed the FBI, just for a second I know it's a really critical part. Just remove the FBI for a second. We have a singular violation of NCWA rules. Of West, they proves at some point soon after I got three hundred dollars. That's it. We didn't recruit a kid. We didn't play an ineligible player. When we found that out, the kid went to review. He paid the money back. He missed three games. And in any other case with that is what happened. This case will be closed. In what they're trying to obviously hit him with Mike is the fact that Lamont Evans did take somewhere in the vicinity of twenty thousand dollars, or who steer players To financial us right, which has been proven joy. Has also been proven that you guys had no knowledge of this. First concert is concerning is. Would just kind of got lumped into the group of? The federal indictment. Cases Right and instead of just looking at our case for what it was as it related to the NC, double A. They just said well. This is a part of this, and so it has to be dealt with the same, and that's just not fair. Partly, because in their own report, the NCAA states there was no competitive advantage. There was no other person or people either involved or with knowledge of this..

"Prices every day so you again you may have missed it late in the week when the NC double a handed down unexpectedly harsh penalties to the Oklahoma state men's basketball program Friday penalties include a postseason ban for the upcoming season probation the reduction of scholarships recruiting limitations they're all part of the investigation an FBI investigation into among others a former cowboys associate head coach Lamont Evans Oklahoma state says it will appeal the penalties and we had the head coach of the Oklahoma state cowboys might point on earlier in the program and coach talked about his feelings about the penalties handed down the idea was about whether the assistant coaches implicated we're trying to help agents recruit players NBC and so this wasn't even something that was given the number of ports mediator of Coakley's based knowledge that there was no would banish gang there were no recruiting violations we never played and an eligible player there was no other complicit individuals within our program in this activity and they still found somehow to get to the postseason band and reduction of scholarships and it seems unfathomable that smart people who are just assume he's a really intelligent folks could look at the evidence in this case and come to that conclusion a tailor that that's your biggest issue right there right yeah absolutely that that that's the one I'm struggling with because it's not as if there was no punishment I mean D. the man went to jail so ten now punish to compound that punishment with the fourteen and thirteen year olds at that time with that transaction went down that's what I'm struggling with this company that's what I'm struggling because Archie compounding the interest that those athletes at around a whole Oklahoma state right now had absolutely nothing to do with that now we had you know coach Jones from Yale on table you eat you do reap the benefits and the problems with who you hire but I'm going to argue that the punishment was jail time for that assistant coach that's from lost it's it it's not easy the report came out that Oklahoma state university had nothing to do with it now some people say like coach Jones well Oklahoma state hired this assistant coach okay and the data service assistant coach of any punishment the answer is yes went to jail he paid his dues so I understand my points issue I do my biggest issue and Kevin you agree with this is it's to a consistent for me yeah it's way too great for me eight the NCAA rules rules these situations on a case by case basis where some people argue for that however you've got to be pretty consistent and they are not they are not consistent with a lot of this and I know some would be maybe you believe this happened but it is an FBI investigation I understand that if the NCAA does nothing then all of a sudden all hell's gonna break loose because you're then gonna have agents but that's already going on cabinets this punishment doesn't stop it it was the legal the FBI found it illegal that person went to jail why does Cunningham only twenty one number one overall draft pick for the NBA why does he have to be penalized for this that's right you you lose me and that kind of conversation it's a great point and by the way it's time for straight talk brought to you by straight talk wireless we're having some pretty straight talk here let's what we're gonna take Oklahoma state and not use that as an example because it because it is it is my belief that that might coach Mike Boynton and the players on his team have been dealt an unbelievably unfair hand so but let's take that out of the equation for a minute I do agree with coach Jones I am of the belief that that there needs to be more accountability I guess ET it is easy to just on the part of the people who are hiring these individuals it is easy to say well you know what they're not here anymore and you know what what could you do what other needs to be some accountability and I don't pretend to know what the solution is here it's in my opinion it certainly is not fair to hold Mike Boynton who in all likelihood was on aware of any of this that was going on but he was not in charge of the time nor were any of his players either of the program so now they've got it they're handed the mop that's that the analogy that I used to have here's the best by the way you didn't create it but here's the mop clean it up but that's not fair and I and I didn't even want to get into naming another name of of of a school I reference another school at big twelve media stuff it's been it's been alleged against Kansas university for years but especially now and nothing's been done over the years like if we're gonna handle Oklahoma state here which is what happened let's be let's be equitable let's do it across the board let's not as you pointed out that the school that I referenced earlier let's not go after Sierra college for Pete's sake what Siena college doing in the grand scheme of things and we're gonna single them out but not go after some of the other big boy well that's not fair either but I am of the belief that there needs to be some accountability at a higher level now what does that mean how do you how do you beat that out it's difficult obviously if it was an easy solution would be there I have a fine though does that though doesn't it Kevin I have fun I took it a real fine like I was talking about you know I eat let's let's say it's a three million dollar fine I mean it I'm just trying to find a way where the athlete is not punished that current athlete is not punished now in Mike Boynton's defense and I know you don't use Oklahoma state but use any coach if that coach from listening to my point in the tone of his voice I don't think he thought they were going to get punished like this it also now he has sold those parents in those freshmen and sophomore that are on his roster now it now they can't think he can't deliver that because of what happened years before you're compounding it it's just inconsistent but I I I I I I remain in this point right now I can't wait to see what they do to Duke in Zion Williamson if there was anything agree just about his situation could you tell me they're gonna punish Duke similar to Sierra college there's no way Kevin No Way what Kansas got away with allegedly well for the moment and we will see we are again we got to see what the NC double a does in the case of Kansas and LSU another school it's put in the crosshairs Arizona the all part of this this FBI investigation which was handled in a ham handed way by the way it's a difficult spot but we're on the same page again with you know listen I've I've been around like point enough a stand up guy for coming on he was told to bad I mean he was dealt a real bad hand here and you know what by the way my points could have a tremendous amount of success beyond what he's had already whether it's at Oklahoma state or at the next level but to but to hand the Oklahoma state what the NC double a did for the actions of an assistant coach who's no longer there and was the one that was getting fat off of this to begin with and to penalize a guy who wasn't the head coach at the time wasn't reaping the benefits of this at the time and players who weren't even in high school at the time that seems to be it seems to be awfully unfair yeah it's a difficult one it's a real difficult one I I do agree with you how this entire FBI report came through yes I'm not gonna hold my breath because it's just I'm not gonna hold my breath for the NCAA to do what's right and to be consistent because they haven't shown that yet it's so windy Arizona and the other issue and the Kansas and depending on what cyan Williams and what happens there when all that stuff comes down then you and I can have this conversation if there's any kind of consistency but historically the NCAA has not been consistent with any of this in your example of Sierra college couldn't be any more accurate for what we're talking about and so until then I I just think the NCAA is going to be inconsistent and we're going to be left with okay contents to talk about but it's just gonna be exhausting content because we're still looking for any kind of direction from the NCAA and yet you're not really going to get it I'm not saying it's easy but guess what Kevin that's part of some of these kids that's part of somebody's kid you got to make tough decisions that's why you get paid the big Bucks I just think mark it ever in the NCAA just has a big concern now for my liking straight talk wireless no contract no compromise some straight talk there as we continue on I gave got ESPN radio but we tune into ESPN Monday night as the undefeated presents three hours of programming dedicated to social justice included or town halls from Chicago and Birmingham and playing for justice a behind the scenes look at the criminal justice system through the eyes of NBA players it all starts AT eastern on ESPN along that vein will continue the discussion same store drew Brees has apologized we will react to that next this is "So I read a tweet by Byron York today and he said well maybe it's time he goes for some enterprising blue state municipality to go bold eliminate its police force to see what happens what is because this is now this this is the big move of the left now it's it's time to get rid of the police forces me you know a mansion for a second I would never want to see this I'm I watched I guess I don't know if this was a sign I know but I know that AG in Minneapolis Minnesota rather we know to be a key thousand well as son apparently is on the city council and their their voting to eliminate a police department I mean kind of bizarre I don't quite understand it you know you have Hillary Clinton's former press secretary demanding the U. S. the phone the police are you have the Minnesota public school board of education voted to terminate the contract with the police department then you have we must take all actions in our power to stop systems of oppression in the Minneapolis city council you know they're now aiming to dismantle the entire police department well I know black lives matters is that they want to literally police their own community quote their words and that they're going to police it and with arm citizens a militia that sounds like to me I don't think that's a very good idea what if the police didn't show up one day one of them had a sick out what what do you think would happen what do I how do you think that you know a group that we have the tape of what we want dead cops when do we want it now we're gonna work they're going to have the pull that they'll do the policing and because this is now the battle cry I mean you've got tons of people on the left saying this and you got we have part two of our undercover investigation with project veritas that they did with on anti far away to hear what they have today it's pretty shocking and pretty dangerous the LA mayor has announced a two hundred fifty million dollar budget cut for the LAPD a hundred fifty million for them but abolishing police now is a love spall celeb the NC double glazed imposes penalties against OSU I'm Beth Myers and the news radio one thousand Katie okay new center the NC double a has imposed a one year postseason ban against the Oklahoma state university men's basketball program it stems from an FBI investigation that found former assistant coach Lamont Evans accepted bribes to steer players to certain financial advisors and financial managers penalties also include three years probation a ten thousand dollar fine and a reduction of three scholarships through twenty twenty three the university says it was stunned by the severity of the penalties.

"Association once again here's your host angel right alright we're back and before we get into football I'm gonna talk a little bit about the the if your basketball situation first late in the afternoon on Friday the NC double a came down with that level of one allegation against as you a violation the that's the most serious kind level one is dates back to the FBI investigation room a couple of years ago where a Lamont Evans and assistant to then head coach Brad Underwood at the time and day he was arrested and charged and then fired by awaits you Mike Morton had just taken over the program because Brad Underwood had left and one was about to promote a Lamont Evans when all of this happened and then about a day later I Evans was fired his sense of pled guilty to bribery charges sentenced to three months in prison as a result of all of this now always you is spent the last couple of years fully cooperating with the FBI and the NC double a in the investigation they hope to avoid level one violations but that went ahead and happened on Friday level one violations can be punished by postseason bans scholarship productions a show cause order against those involved nobody that's involved in this is still with as you I might point released a statement saying we've been open and transparent with our team our recruits and the NC double a we're disappointed this occurred but are please that a thorough investigation as determined the most serious violation was reported in the news more than two years ago we look forward to presenting our case on the level of violation of the NC double a I was going to try to get that reduced but we have seen a in dealings in the past from the NC double way that sometimes they tend to punish those at least deserving and right now there's nobody on that as your basketball team that deserves anything because even the entry level is own investigation has shown that all they have done is follow the rules so we'll see what ends up happening with this and but yeah it's been a cloud has been hanging over the issue program since the whole FBI thing started right and now we are where we are can you head into the legs trying to figure out who to punish what to do and that's always been a challenge what do you do when kind of everybody from that'll regime is gone and type of thing and then none of the players involved that type of thing right now to the players involved nobody's on sap involved head coach not to involve drying no indication hand and no indication of any recruiting violations in any of this regardless of of beau who was involved it was Lamont Evans with a scheme to bring current players at the time that he had right in front of some guys who he wanted them to hire is their financial advisors players that might have a chance to move on to either the NBA or the Euroleague right or something a lot of like that so that's where that stands as far as the football game at West Virginia today by now you know Spencer Sanders had surgery on a Monday on his throwing hand of the right to farm of his throwing hand is out for the rest of the regular season maybe a ball game he could be back in time for a bowl game for six weeks on this now drew brown our sources have told us hurt his hand on Tuesday I hit a helmet of a a player when he was throwing the football and there was a lot of fear it burst the drew brown might have the same fate as Spencer Sanders and the cal boys spent some time getting some freshmen ready Sean Taylor a redshirt freshman who we understand now is going to be the back upper group Brad today and also true freshman Peyton Thompson from Tulsa union Brendan Costello from San Clemente California and it looks like now that drew brown is good to go for today's game at West Virginia subring no affects of that incident on Tuesday and brown was good when he steps September Spencer Sanders last week through a really nice touchdown pass to Dylan stoner above forty three yards dropped it right in stoners hands as he was going into the end zone brown a two year starter at the university of Hawaii is patiently waited his time add as you might get Indy before we knew about all of this what Spencer what was gonna happen with Spencer Sanders had an MRI on Monday about the same time the gun he was having his news conference and he was asked my god he was asked about drew brown and the performance that he had on Saturday in the second half of that Kansas game we were pleased with drovers been a great illustration of a culture here home state you know and I.
