Ravens extend regular-season run, dominate Texans 33-16
"Texans offense is trying to figure out itself average three yards, a carry, and the Ravens they've just picked up where they left off I mean the January playoff exit was ugly but through two regular season games we are now coming on. If, you combine these two regular season games with how they finished and really perform the entire regular season. Last year. This is one of the great dominant runs September through December that I can remember any team having. No argument there I saw some something today that. It's like, wow, the ravens have gone taken what they did last year and they've gone another three steps. Let's slow down. That's one of the greatest regular teams I've ever seen like you're not going three steps further but continuing it and adding new elements to it and playing a little more consistent defense from week one on which they were not last year. Is GonNa, make them so hard to be, and they play the chiefs next week a little too early in the season for my taste, but it should be fun. I mean I. Think one issue is Lamar Jackson, like if were if you wanted to point to little elements of his game, the needed help them up I mean he's gotten distinctively better over two off seasons and. Around half time and I was kind of tracking this off on the side, I was thinking looking at their boxcar thinking they're not really running like it doesn't seem like they're dominating. They didn't have one hundred yards hundred and fifty yards rushing in the first half. It was like a little bit off and then at the end of the game. They have two, hundred, thirty plus yards on the ground I mean they they really come. So easily they can do everything they did a year ago they just throw in JK Dobbins you throw in a couple of other guys. They simply have more weapons so I think last year is last week's game against Cleveland was absolutely authentic. Today's game is absolutely authentic. This is who they are. There's probably one or two teams in the League that could touch him right now.

Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup
"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.
Fresh update on "lamar" discussed on WEEI Show
"Shift to the right side of the line card in motion play action. Jackson looks right throws over the middle. It's got a man wide open one hand catch for the touchdown Mark Andrews and the Ravens convert on their opening possession. This is after hours with Amy Lawrence. Lamar Jackson, the reigning NFL M V P the cream of the crop When it comes to young stud quarterback like a Patrick Mahomes. We could go on and on. I take up the entire segment, just going through them all, and I don't want to do that. But We want to know which one outside of the homes would you take? What style do you think is the best for long term success? Maybe it's a particular Maybe it's a particular size of Q. B or shape of. Q Because they come in different shapes and sizes, you know, case you hadn't noticed. On Twitter, a law radio also on our Facebook page, You know moms, but any other young stud Q B. You can take to build your franchise around. Who would you grab 855212? For 2 to 7 earlier had a chance to catch up with longtime NFL Q B. Gus for Rod and I was asking him about young quarterbacks and you've got guys who can run who can take off and they're so elusive and taken do guys out of their shorts and so asked him as he looks at the position around the league now. How has it changed over the past 5 to 10 years? You know, just the athleticism of a position. I think back in the day you had a lot of pocket passers. You had some guys that could run around. Obviously, um A little closer was a Michael Vick. Randall Cunningham, Steve Young, You know there were some other quarterbacks that could run. You know, John Elway was always known as a runner, but he wasn't like juking people out. He wasn't doing a Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes. Most of us were pocket passer shoots down a pocket. You were statue and And you're just, You know, you're just moving in that little box area between attack and you know, it's just kind of how the position was built. We looked at Dan Marino's one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. And I don't know how many Russia he's ever had his career. So the game has changed tremendously, but they also make it a lot of fun to watch. If you're trying to start a team, and let's say Mahomes is not available. What quarterback out there? Would you take guts that you feel like the right guy you could build around and be successful with Are you talking young quarterback? Well, I'm gonna tell you what I built my team around this year in my fantasy team is Lamar Jackson. Um, you know, because I think that you know he's getting better better with reading. The defense is getting rid of the ball. He shows that he can make the throws. Weekend week out and when you watch him run, it's electric. You know, you could make guys mystic and escape danger. And sometimes I watch it. I'm Justin on. I'm like man. At one year I took 64 sacks like if I could just move a half that way. Maybe it would have went down to 30 and I would feel helped you a lot better right now. So you know, Lamar, I think he's a guy and obviously there's some other quarterbacks that they're they're out there. They're tremendous job. Burrow is going to be really good. Ah, and you know, even him. He's athletic. You see him run the ball. Hey, just gotta figure out how to take care of his body compared to, you know, get the first down and thrown it away and all those types of things when you look at the rule changes, even since the point of which you retired in 2008. Do you feel like they offer a lot more protection for guys to take off to run and to maybe be creative and not have to stay in the pocket and be safe? Yeah, but I don't know if those kind of rules have changed that much. Obviously sliding and you know, protecting the quarterback is a priority because you lose your franchise player in the quarterback. And your team's not gonna be any good. So all the owners want that, you know, be a priority, you know, But we've changed rules for every position where an offensive lineman can't cut block a defensive end anymore. Can't block from behind back in the day. That was all legal. You know, there was all kind of things that were legal that they've changed over the years to try and make the game safer. But every week we watch we see big hits. We see guys going down. We see quarterbacks laying on your back and you know the game has gotten safer, but it's still a very, very physical self sport. And you know you could still get major injuries just like you did back in the day. It's just back in the day, they drank beer and smoked cigarettes to get through. It goes for a ride with us here. After hours on CBS Sports Radio, he's got huddle up with Gus on radio dot com. Some players complain about those rule changes watering down the game, making it softer when you compare it to when you played Do you believe it still as good a product. Oh, yeah. You know, I think they made the rule changes a lot of them. You know, as far as defense of holding defensive pass interference they want was the fans want, you know it's a game. It's entertainment. We think of it as the sport that we played from the time we were growing up. But If you look at it, it's about putting points on the board scoring touchdowns. Big plays and, you know, the longer an offense that is playing well can have the ball. The more chance that is gonna happen. Ah, yeah. Rule changes have happened. You know, we've seen things like pass interference. Where you know it happens to New Orleans and they completely missed it. And the NFL goes the other way, and they're going to really, you know. Take care of that. And then the next year kind of like falls off again, so it ebbs and flows. I think with all the rule changes, but I think the game is still the game, the nuts and bolts of it, and it's a lot of fun to watch. Are you ever amazed the popularity of the league that you played in because it feels like no matter what people flock to the NFL? Yeah, you know, and even with everything that's going on and everything that Colin Kaepernick started with with kneeling and protest ng, and you may not or you may agree with it, but, you know, good or bad. The NFL is such a machine in such a product that ah You know, they finally kind of taken the light and saying, you know, we gotta back are are the people that are playing our gains that that you know, we respect and all that and no matter what happened. The NFL is going to roll through. You know, they're going to pick a side They're going to do what they want to do. They're just such a machine that and they put such a good product out there, you know, and and I'm a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan. It was. The Penguins aren't in the playoffs. It's hard for me to watch hockey unless I know somebody out there. But in the NFL, I could watch a game. Any game any day. Any any. Any team playing And I get a lot of enjoyment out that compared to other sports When I feel like that's a weight. A lot of fans feel Teo, A fan in Florida cares about what's happening in Seattle, and vice versa. You don't necessarily have to be a fan. But you mentioned fantasy. How much do you think fantasy has to do with the fact that people are so engaged? Well, I mean fantasy and the fact that all these gambling sites have come out now like vandal on Draftkings and all these people, it's changed the game. You know, it's It's really for me. When I play fantasy, and I get to pick a team and a defense and everything I follow those guys and I want to do well because we have a family one, and it's a lot of fun to do that. I'm trying to beat my kids right. And so it keeps me involved in the game. Even though all my friends that I played with world older and and there's not. I don't know if I have three or four friends playing anymore, so It keeps me involved in a game. Let's you know those people and actually let me understand their stories like my my guys. I want to know where they're from what they're doing, You know, and it's kind of interesting. It's really kept me. Involved in the game by understanding the players and who they are what teams are playing for. Long time. NFL Q B Gus Ferrat Quick, Can you name all seven teams he played for? I only could come up with four before I looked, but it was a fun game. He told me that he thought only family members could probably name the seven. If that he played for really good conversation. We also talked about changing coaches again. He played for so many different franchises, and in some cases was a year here and then a year they're so Detroit, Miami, he those were quick stops..

"For because that's how people are looking at him now like he's not worthy. Logistic legit criticism both he and Darnold. Turnover he more than darnold. Joe Borough beats them with no preseason as a rookie with that means Joe boroughs better than than Baker. Mayfield. I think we agree about that. Already you'd rather have burrowed and Baker Mayfield based on what you saw in college and you know how they're perceived right now doesn't mean Baker Mayfield can't be a successful NFL quarterback. All right. Molly. Trillion I know you gotta go ahead I know you gotta go molly but just as a reminder y'all guys picked after Baker Mayfield I'm reading saquon Barkley Sam, Donald Denzel, Ward Bradley Troub-. In Nelson. Mick Fitzpatrick. That's just to name a few. Yeah. All of them passed all bowlers for Baker. Mayfield. All Damian I saw you that you were duty. Oh there in New York on get up. We'll be seeing you next week. I take. We're going to be back in studio on Monday. So looking forward to seeing you in person there have a fabulous week and we'll talk to you soon. Sir. All right now. Oh. Felt insular game one literally. At. The hands of Bam out of I and the heat game twos tonight on ESPN. Heat Celtics Yuna. What is Stephen A. I know it's early in the series but I feel like it's fair to ask is it a must win for Boston Approach. With this I don't think they can afford to fall down I. I'll take it Max. I don't think they can afford to fall down to the Miami Heat the rough riders that they are sniffing at a championship round matchup against whoever's going to be come out of the West I. Think they're for Jason Tatum in the crew to survive and have really have a legitimate chance of winning this. Series they've got win game two tonight and I'm going to call on Kemba Walker. Let's understand something criminal Kemba. Walker has no crispell. He's not a floor general a floor orchestrated that's not his game even though he's your point God, it's his ability to put the ball in the hole spending the first seven eight years of his career is the number one offensive option. That's what makes Kemba Walker. That's what makes him somewhat of a poor man's replica of of Kyrie Irving Kemba Walker shoot. He can score in the club she can get to the holy can finish at the basket. He certainly could hit three. He's got an offensive arsenal that quite frankly we haven't seen from him for the most part during these last few playoff games he's got a step his game up Goran dragic is doing his thing. He's got to answer that call to help out Jason, Tatum, Jaylen, Brown, and Marcus smart in order for Boston. They have a chance in this series are predict he'll do it tonight because he better Boston. Needs to win the night to make sure they have a legitimate shot at funnels. I can't call this a must win but I call it a damn good idea to win the reason I won't call it. A must win is they haven't had Gordon Hayward they won't have him tonight and what if they didn't have Gordon Hayward if you emerge from that one one that's really bad for the heat one of your better players, a lot of really good players but one of your best players, one of your four best players, which is what makes this unit really formidable. Not being available should be. An advantage to the other teams who even if you go down to given the fact that the most talented player in the series is on the Celtics in Jason. tatum given the fact that the Celtics can really shoot it and defend I wouldn't say being down. Oh to even to a very tough team is insurmountable So I can't call it a must win. It's a sure is a good idea to win, but I don't think it's a Must-win. Good idea I give you that that's a new category I never heard of never heard of that category before molly sure is a good idea. Good idea. As. A category. Be Fun, we have Thursday night football Baker. Mayfield we're going to have this heat celtics game. It'll be good. Get ready for this Steven A. and Max I don't know how you're going to feel about it. But the next time you see me we'll be in person but don't worry I won't I'll wear a mask. Anybody a hug. My distance will be six feet apart on the set. I won't bother anybody it'll be a lotta fun by guys..

"Because what America needs to hear from you More. So than me or another black person because we're whistling into the win, it's unproductive ineffective. It's just noise he's coming from US but when it comes from one of their own, who's fair-minded enough whose sole is a right place and he has the facts to back it up an appeal when the pigmentation and the culture is identified with them and you're the one spewing it that you that is what is best. Coming from you instead of me sometimes. So I notice having this poll Stephen be being one of the preeminent faces in this business I'm wise enough to know Stephen A. You don't have to take that. Let met say for you because Max's heart is in the right place he's got the facts to back it up. Right? It's the same principle when it comes. To the Colin Kaepernick's the Eric reads. It award another we heard you. We understand exactly what y'all is saying millions upon millions of people noted Jolla. Right. Where has it gotten y'all what GonNa do? Can we find a different way eric read to maneuver through this terrain so you can speak truth to power and bring truth to the table while still keeping your job. Collar cabinet I'd disagreement with the whole waiver thing when the tryout took place Max. Remember was whatever the waiver say both the UN had copies of it. What I was trying to say, was they never the NFL. In its history had never conducted a workout for one player particularly one who had filed a grievance and had settled agreements with the league. They were reticent about what would come with that and all of this other stuff. So what we were saying was if you're in front of the camera and all of us are watching Got You but in the end, they made the decision. Now we ate trust and nobody but ourselves not even the millions of people who would be watching and ready to hold the NFL accountable at some point in time. We have to know to do what? Sometimes on this show I admittedly do with you I feel exact same thing but it is best coming from you because if it comes from, me is just whistling into the wind but when it comes to corporate. That white power structure Matt Max Kellerman they need to hear from him. Somebody's gotTa have that mentality at some point. That's all of saying. Stephen A, I agree this is not a black problem. It's a white problem this who is in How many black NFL owners are there zero not many general manager you mentioned in the NBA The team president who can really call their own shots right. So this is something that white people have to get straight and in terms of our basic apparent disagreements of this on time about this times you're talking about the way it is you're in philosophy is called descriptive. You're describing the way it is and I'm talking about the way it should be normative. This is the way it ought to be, and you're right part of that is white privilege and I'm happy to use mine to speak truth to power as well. Brady if the browns lose this defcon one baby, it is defcon one in Cleveland because let me tell you. They've given Baker Mayfield everything every type of resource possible to make him successful and Greenie if he loses game listen. Don't. Let me tell you but I just don't think the guys are good. Harry is the man himself. Freshly Shaven. Damien woody here with us. Good to see you. Sir. Good to have you back I. Liked Alpha. I know Stephen is going to be mad about the time I give you the stamp of the approval for what it's worth. Tony. He. Can't say anything. Thing to me. Hold on. Let me take the laser things so. I was getting ready to tell you. I know blades a little I. Don't know why needed. Nice I don't need their from you though okay. Already know this man Laurette. Don't make me deal with you know maybe. You've got quite. Let me go. You spoke to you. On a chillier right now, you better use the. Energy running dropped a couple. LB's okay. All the he does he. Got It. Sure does look like eyebrows done. He really does. That has got to get a hold of wardrobe. So we in there. All. Of This is coming from a woman. I will never knock man for taking care of himself for working out for good hygiene for grooming I am with all of it. Okay. So that's a woman's opinion will leave it there fell us talk to me talk to me about Baker Mitch does matter not even just because covert because it's nasty if you don't a Stephen A. With. You on this one. Is Baker Starting Ono. They want to start that's what I'm told Okay we're Breaking Normal Code Damian Europe I obviously you had the heartache is Baker starting job on the line Well let's I. Don't think he gets out to this game, but I think is all all the alarms are GONNA BE OFF IF CLEVELAND LOSES GAME TO CINCINNATI Bengals all sound off in in Berea Ohio. Listen God's it's real simple. It's real simple. The Cleveland Browns has surrounded Baker? Mayfield with everything imaginable imaginable. They went out they traded for older Beckham they traded for Jarvis Landry they signed Austin Duke Tight in physician in free agency they go on Sunday right of the Right tackle. They drafted him with their first big left tackle. They got to stuck running backs. What organization has surrounded they're young quarterback with more talent than Baker, Mayfield,.

"I think. So I think so but I'm not speaking about it purely from a basketball perspective I understand how formidable Denver Nuggets are and Jamal Mary I. Hope You're listening you guys are not to be slept on y'all a bona fide you'll legit and I believe they've got a title in the future I just don't think it'd be this year I'm picking the Lakers to win this series unapologetically. So having said, all of that, here's how Lebron got left off the hook. We'll be talking about the Lakers nuggets matchup we'll be talking about Anthony Davis. How? Much he'll be guarding Nikolai Yokich in what have you obviously how you're going to contain them all Murray We'll look Anthony Davis and Lebron, and of course, we'll they'll have to show that the same expectations they always do, but the role plays rondos. Danny. Green's the cow Kouzmines of the world people like that. We'll be looking at them and having expectations if it word the clippers versus the Lakers. The Lakers could not lose that series they lose that series to the clippers that would have been very, very bad in terms of lake nation, the city of La, bragging rights, things of that nature. But more importantly unlike this particular matchup that match with the clippers would have been personalized because of the Banter that Car Kawai Linen instigated upon his arrival with the Los Angeles Clippers, you got the new balance commercial. You got the king's Crown Dangling, from Humira you know you're champion in the NBA finals in vp you're coming la it's a new day. Here we come all of those things particularly in the aftermath of Lebron trying to get you to Los Angeles to be a member. Of the Lakers with Anthony Davis, instead of joining the clippers, all of that was the backdrop. So this encounter take place with the clippers being the number two seed with the Lakers being number one scene with them, Shannon, not just the same city but literally the same arena and the basketball world transfixed on Koa versus Lebron with me and everybody else going off game one at a regular season when they went up against one another because we were looking forward to for months and opening night on TNT to Max Kellerman call and I let the best in the world to me saying it's still Lebron James, etc etc. It was a more personalized confrontation even though there's always pressure. On Lebron James Shoulder because he is Lebron James. Elevated exponentially because of the personal stuff that was attached to it, meaning him against Kawhi Leonard. That's what everyone was looking for to. That's what everyone wanted and the fact that it's not happening because a Kowa Leonard and the clippers and how they wet the bed in the game seven and blew a three to one lead in the conference semifinals. Now, Lebron can basically give you that Wu sock. kind of feeling on display and he could simply go out there is my team against the Denver Nuggets we know there a threat we know who I am I don't escape pressure per se, but is it anything compared to what he would have faced if he was going directly against Kawai blended and if Kawhi Leonard had played the way Max woj would play it would have been a different ballgame. Thank you for leaving a minute for us to answer that even. Look I know you ain't. Here's the bottom. All that word and have all day. You got a lot of herbs. Why did you have something to say when I? Look go ahead. Oh boy using Vince time now listen bottom line Lebron's right of the street is Clean Lebron. Slide of the street is cleaned he's waiting for coli co I didn't get there's not on the Bron- that doesn't that doesn't get. Off The hook not at all in fact, the Bronx wants to be off the hook. What did you tell me about Michael? Jordan even the most insanely competitive ever heard he was try to get under the skin of opponents before face them and I told you of course because he wants them off their games you said Oh Mj, wanted them the best version of themselves so When he beat them, he knew and they knew that he was just better. That's so gangster and Lebron James Yeah he wanted to join him I'm sure he Lebron James had a chance just now to answer the fact that got MVP. When he was only twenty two years old for the defense he played on the Bron- that y is the reigning was the reigning and defending. NBA Finals Mvp. Champ. He had the belt. You think Lebron, didn't WanNa take that back from him. Think about the way Lebron played the last time they met taking that defensive assignment. Now Lebron has vote chance to answer that directly right and now let's look at the flip of it did his assignment just get easier or harder? Obviously. If it got, it got harder because the nuggets just beat beat the clippers and the nuggets just beat the jazz in both times they were down three one and no lead is safe with this team and they believe in themselves and each other and they're coached wealth and they got not one put two guys playing and be a MVP level in Yokich and Jamal Murray and porters ascending. lebrons job just got harder and Cobb it he will get less credit for winning and I agree with you. I, think the Lakers will win but he'll get less credit for beat a more dangerous opponent right now and does not have the chance to change the narrative of being the hunted one that was coming to get his. He's there he's waiting for a colliding get their did not let Lebron off the hook in fact, it robbed abroad of the opportunity to prove definitively that he's the guy although as I said Lebron I got it. Wrong. Looks like you're still the guy would have been better for him to prove it against coli. Well you got Senate all keep a short sweet I don't think Lebron is off the hook for this. Well. Let me say this unfortunately, that's what we wanted to stay Lakers clippers in the western Chris Final we all want to see that but at the same time. I think the Boston will go out there in handling businesses show he's the best player in the. League. But like you said, both of you said if The Braun in the Lakers somehow loses. To the Denver Nuggets what HAP- instead. You know. So if they lose to the clippers like, okay, we've clippers fight a bit better, but if they lose to the Denver Nuggets. What am safe. So I think I say I'M NOT GONNA say pressure but I don't think he's off. The Hook is appoint Stephen You said this before if the Lakers. Do not shoot well from three point line. They'RE GONNA have trouble in this series that should fit from to which ranks them I in the playoffs with a sheet thirty, six percent. From three, which ranks them. Big Hits shots because when Ron road or if a eighties Roman the. Double. Team can say what are you gonNA lose to someone else by his joke shots the underprivileged..
"lamar" Discussed on First Take
"Are. Jackson the Ravens destroyed the Brown entering the fault mart was up thirty one to six many were critical of John Harbaugh's decision to leave Action Jackson in the game with that lopsided lead. Lamar. We don't have no preseason game that was my first time getting talk j Russo. Felt we needed. Coach. No, he's. Not What it is, you can get hurt anytime and I'm good and I came the game is percent so far. As, Lamar, the most crucial player to his team. I believe so I believe. So I think that you can point to the Russell. Wilson's the Patrick Mahomes the the the Aaron Rodgers drew brees and others are being incredibly pivotal and I'm not arguing that it's just that when I look at the Baltimore Ravens offense everything is predicated on Lamar Jackson is good as we know Mark Ingram to be. was He this good before playing with Lamar? He was running a football, effectively New Orleans, but not to this degree when we look at Hollywood Brown and others or even Mark Andrews How good were they? When Dro- Joe FLACCO was was throwing the football under the case of Jack mcandrew's obviously not necessarily Hollywood ground. My point is that he is offense you look at the Kansas City, you got tyreek and Travis. You look at Green Bay without this gambling and the Monte Adams you looking walgreens with Thomson, Alvin Kamara and now Emmanuel Sanders look at guys like that. Okay. But in the case of of you know Lamar Jackson I'm just of the mindset that without him, you don't have an offense at all, and that's why I consider him to be the most pivotal offensive piece of for his team in the NFL at this particular moment in time. There's a very good argument to be made for Lamar Jackson but I'm GonNa make one for Patrick mahomes because I think it's actually the answer. Lamar Jackson is hard to approximate. Can Get guys you can get a backup like rg three. You can go get Colin. Kaepernick can still play at least take a look to see if you can there guys around the league like Josh Allen or real poor men versions of Lamar. Jackson like trubisky or someone like that. The point is you can. There are guys around the League do some really bad imitation of what Lamar Jackson Jackson does including backups. The question is, what would they be on the Ravens? The Ravens offense be with them I think it's possible. The Ravens would still be a really good. Team even with a quarterback who can only kind of imitate some of the things even that Lamar Jackson do right because he still hasn't won a playoff game and I'm not saying he won't. But so far the premium that Lamar Jackson is giving you is in the regular season got into the playoffs. A couple of years are you saying you couldn't find a quarterback to get you to the playoffs with the ravens because after that what premium do you get? You haven't won now let's take Patrick Mahomes. They had a really good quarterback Alex Smith when he was housing. In a strong arm but he was a good quarterback and the premium that you get from Patrick Mahomes is basically every year. You're the favorites to win the Super Bowl. I mean Patrick Mahomes played two years. I know he has all these weapons and everything but plugged someone else in. Do they make the playoffs navy? Do they win once in their? They're in the playoffs? No No. Do they win the super bowl every time like packing the homes the first time he touched the ball this dude was the AFC championship. Game Tom Brady threw pick to end the game. A Pre snap penalty gave Tom Brady the ball back home didn't get to touch it and overtime I'm here to tell you if not for that whistle mahomes is is is going for his third straight super bowl right now because the very next year he wins the superbowl coming back three times on three different teams in the playoffs down double digits, the homes especial, special the premium. He gives you I know Stephen Look at that team you go. Yeah. But a lot of guys would be good with that team but I think the same is true with the Ravens but the differences because you have mahomes every year you're supposed to win the Super Bowl Lamar Jackson has not yet won a playoff game and I think you could find other quarterbacks to do that. Well first of all a couple of things number one, they didn't win the Super Bowl every year last time. I checked they have one super bowl championship and that's last year the year before no matter what rationale you throw it to the equation they did lose because they didn't show up in the first half. They came back in the second half and obviously overcame deficit and tied and could've and should've maybe one that game but if they had to put themselves in a hole in. The first half, maybe it wouldn't have come down to that. So it's a sixty minute game and they didn't show up for the first thirty minutes. That's the reality of the situation Gutu years ago last year, they want us to bowl. I. Recall Seeing how Patrick Mahomes played in the first three and a half quarters I recall them being limited to ten points in particular moment it's I'm I recall being down ten points our call us all looking at Patrick Mahomes saying what the Hell is. Going on how the hell is this happening this defense is holding them at check. Okay and then he flooded up a male Hail Mary as far as I'm concerned, the Tyreek Hill and he came down with it and obviously things went in their direction why 'cause Carl Shanahan and Jimmy G. hit the panic button and that's what happened. My point is this Patrick Mahomes is good. He is a superstar I get all of that but I have said it before and I've said and I'll say It again, tyreek killers don't Travis Chelsea's no joke Sammy Watkins is no joke. Damian Williams is no was no joke. Now call it to lay is no joke as well. So I look at the multitude of weapons and if you WanNa tell me their marquees brown and Willie snead and Mall break-ins and Mark Andrews, and those guys would be all world even if Lamar Jackson isn't there I beg to differ I think those brothers but I'll say this all world no matter what yeah that's right. We see that same way but the ravens are well coached and play well on both sides of the ball and what I'm saying is another quarterback gets into the playoffs and so far. Lamar Jackson hasn't done. The. Difference Between Lamar Jackson, not always not a matter of always. But still no playoff wins the difference between that and Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes gives you a realistic I make Patrick Mahomes on the chiefs the odds not just the odds on favorite the straight up favorite against the rest of the NFL every year, and so far it's born out MVP is first here at the end of the AFC championship game if not for a whistle, this do goes to the Super Bowl probably wins and the next year does win what you call a Hail Mary had for the last his own. Davis to fifteen steps and threw a sixty yard. You didn't have Hail Mary fifteen steps. Fifteen steps pass watched the play watched whatever again. Drop. Obviously that's what you did. But here's the bottom line. You didn't have them as your favorite two years ago. You had a miss your favorite last year not two years ago. So they're not the favorite every year they would have favorite last year the favorite this. Okay let me tell you something if I were to Patrick Mahomes us a made them my favorites two years ago I know where he is now but you didn't but you did. Built different at twenty twenty s started to anything. It's to expect the unexpected. That definitely applies to the western conference finals after the clippers rebound from the bubble by the Denver. Nuggets of conference finals matchup between Lebron and we'll have to wait. Until, another year perhaps on that note speaking of people that are built different. How about Vince Carter Future Hall of Famer. Twenty plus years in the League of Control. Just a second. Stephen. A. Was Lebron left off the hook here I mean, did he catch a break that he doesn't have to face and the clippers and he gets Denver that KINDA.

Apple's next online-only launch will be Sept. 15 with Apple Watch, iPad on tap
"Let's talk a little more about that big apple. Announcement Shannon. All Right Apple announced finally that it will hold an event September fifteenth at one PM. Eastern that's ten am Pacific the invite had the words time flies in a stylized blue apple logo that looked finger drawn was several different loops and the logo also triggered an augmented reality function on the iphone that turned the logo into the nine fifteen date September fifteen four new iphones are likely though apple has said on its earnings call that they won't ship new iphones in September. Nikkei's sources say five. G. iphone production will begin in mid September. Rumors are also suggesting a series six watch and a new more affordable Apple Watch as well as an IPAD air and the somebody and blanket on who now I apologize somebody dug up the Meta tags on the Youtube Stream that apple has put up for this event on September fifteenth and found that Siri six is in the Meta data. So I think it's pretty say we're getting US series six watch. One rumor you heard Lamar was that we might not get the iphone announcement because we know they're ship until at the earliest October they might hold off and only announced the watching the IPAD. Yeah. There was a Bloomberg report. That was adjusting that. It will be a separate. Distant this thing happening next week we'll be IPHONE IPAD and apple. Watch. They would do a separate event in October, which is not a president. They've done two separate events in a fall before where they would just have an iphone event then. I feel like if they were GONNA do that they should probably let people I mean, no one's traveling to the event so. But you know just expectation purposes probably be good to let people know that not to expect him iphone announcement next week if that's the case but you're saying they're probably going to announce everything. My Gut tells me they're going to ask the IPHONES even if they're not shipping until. October. Because a watch and IPAD announcement doesn't seem like enough on its own. The always. A drop will happen. Right they usually have that's other part is I can't imagine they would they would announced the launch of IOS fourteen and not announce the new iphones to go with it. I'm Michael is the microwave and yeah, there would also be Mac os watch os TV os on top of that. So but that's dates they already did the details back WDC. They might announce that they're going to announce iphones. Who knows I guess we'll.
"lamar" Discussed on Mornings with Keyshawn, Jorge & LZ
"Just a quick reminder here key two thousand eighteen NFL draft Baker Mayfield. One Sam Darnold Pick Third Josh Allen Pick Seventh Josh Rosen Tenth Lamar Jackson. Pick thirty second. Do that every draft I mean not like that to that extent but I feel like it's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback to it. So it is but the crazy part about it is. Is Crazy as it may sound easy You know there's a whole bunch of teams in the NFL that will not still to this day. If I handed them Lamar Jackson, they wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole really they because their style they don't like certain people don't like certain. They know they'll tell you in me right now. Oh yeah he's great I'll certainly would love to have him. Put, they wouldn't touch. Of owner. A coach or something but okay it. It's crazy to think that right? Right? Yes. It's teams I would say the New York giants they would probably say Nah, I don't that doesn't fit what we WANNA do from an offensive standpoint that's just my coaches fascinating. Let's pass. This MVP unanimous. Handed them him right now. Right. No I'm telling you because again. Coaches or lay sie they don't WanNa work with tally. Joe Joe. Saint Joe. Giants just they're here in New York I figured I'd their style. Danny dimes is a clone of Eli Manning. Dated move off that blocked at all understood but if players Lamar Jackson became available as Trust me on I. I'M GONNA. I'm. GonNa. Trust with attests how would you not take on any team? Not Take Him I would taking there's certain teams in personnel PC. That They did just Pressuring about football ready because in basketball I might change my style based upon the player the personnel I have. So what you're telling me is that in football is you know this is the stock. So here's what I'm GONNA. Tell you go before we move on. One of the. Most well respected individuals. In all of the NFL. Okay, pick up the phone call him in anything to this day are expecting like no other bill polian wanted to move to do to wire receiver because he had a certain thought process and what he liked their quarterback in that didn't fit. That's not to say, all thirty two teams stink like that. But they are people I know but that we were in. Because you knew what he was going to be, there's not enough data back for. The Baltimore. Ravens in Greg Roman. The offense coordinator. Knew exactly what the more was going to be when they drafted him. Draft. They knew what they was like. We got FLACCO WHO's. Big and tall and strong warming all the great things that we thought we wanted to the quarterback and they saw the morning like we can work wonders with him. That's that's the reality I know it's crazy to think, but it's the truth is the truth because certain people don't like certain style I hear you. I'm just saying after seeing what he's been able to man I don't care. I disagree with you I don't care people like certain things at their quarterback spot and that's they select certain types of QB's, and we should mention bill police them. You gotta remember that man. Bill pulling our former colleague built a couple of different teams into massive contenders including the every last quarterback. They all look the same whether it was Jim Kelly whether it was. My Man Kerry Collins whether it was Peyton manning they all look the same. Keys real rankings are up next our first time doing it on the program with the regular season two days away are the Ravens after all this talk about Lamar are they in keys top five will have that straight from key. It's a new season..
The Browns are trying a new approach heading into the 2020 season: Being quiet
"Let's start here in Cleveland atom I heard Baker Mayfield say last week last year was total and complete chaos. They had so much noise around the organization. Now it's like a church mouse. It's totally quiet. WHAT'S THE MANTRA? What's going on there with this approach? Well the circus that was in Cleveland left and has gone to Tampa Bay in the interim. Basically, you've got a new general manager Andrew Berry new head coach, and Kevin Stefanski and the noise that accompanied this team last year has quite a quite a bit I think people are more interested in seeing Ben Rothlisberger return in Pittsburgh. The return of the NFL's raining MVP Lamar Jackson in Baltimore even the number one overall pick Joe borrowing, Cincinnati that browns are. The least sexy story in the AFC north this season and so they're flying under the radar, which is a good thing for this team. They don't need anymore engine. Let them win before we anoint the Cleveland Browns and contender and I think that they're very encouraged by what they've seen so far from their team this summer
How To Stop Lamar Jackson in 2020 (Hint: Pray)
"So Dominique I truly hate to butter up. You're already greasy ego but I summoned you here really to discuss Lamar Jackson and so I did two things. The first thing I did was look up his forty time, which was a self reported four, three four. And then I looked up your forty time and. The Internet done. Tells me that you ran. A four, three four. Well unlike Lamar Jackson I do not have an MVP trophy to show for it. I'M GONNA say it's because the Thanh hadn't caught up I was a high school quarterback. Position I'd be doing Lamar I don't even believe that. But as for Lamar Jackson. It is also fair to say that nobody bought stock in this kid faster than you. You call them a league changing prospect. Before he was drafted, you wrote about him last year when he was on his way to becoming the second unanimous MVP, an NFL history. So what did you see that other people did not? Think that he has the set that is. Transcendent to use an overused term in sports media. I think was more important in your piece that I wrote before the draft along with me times that we talked about how important it was that he landed in a perfect situation and when he went to Baltimore. Being that it was an organization that I played in a city that I grew up in I knew that that was an organization I was smart enough to build around his skills. But back, then people didn't really think that way and they thought Lamar Jackson wasn't a guy who could fit. So he clearly does or maybe he doesn't fit but they built a team around him that would fit him, which is the way that you do with ingrate player. So looking back now on his brief time in the league so far Lamar did face his fair share of skeptics doubters any even be competent NFL. Horrific performances we had ever seen I'm a Baltimore Ravens Fan I'm concerned has got a lot to prove but now dominique based on how he season ended last year. I can kind of feel some of those same doubts creeping up again. I mean, the Ravens scored twelve points in Jackson had three turnovers in that shocking divisional round loss to the titans. So on that Game I. What actually happened. Lamar didn't play his best game, but it's unfair to hang that on the Mar and I'm sure you've heard many stats of how long it took a lot of other great quarterbacks to win their first playoff game and even make it to the playoffs but Asaf Net if you watch that game again, tomorrow perfect. But it's six drops and that defense that had been stout all year was getting run all over by their Kendrick Henry breaks the tackle thirty. Henry ten Henry down an eight yard line and they couldn't stop anybody and Lamar and a tip ball for interception. Jackson. Taxi fires down the Middle Ball ticket buyer. Need through one later that was probably his fault and gave up a sack fumble. Taxing under. Pressure. grabbed. Compost. There's a fight for it. So he wasn't perfect but I think it's unfair to hang it all on sodas. He threw some really impressive passes some of which were some of which were dropped but to be this earliest career to have as much success as he's had I think is. is encouraging,
Lamar Jackson dealing with groin injury
"Lamar Jackson raining MVP he missed practice. Saturday. And Sunday with a strained groin. But he was back at practice today the Ravens Dope believe it's a significant injury. That's why he was back. But anytime you MVP MRS on. It's always notable and always interesting and again Lamar Jackson seems to be okay.
Lamar Jackson seems to welcome Ravens potentially signing Dez Bryant
"Dez Bryant Free Agent Wide Receiver reportedly in the Baltimore area for a workout with the Ravens Lamar Jackson was asked of a possible playing with three time Pro Bowler we've got a lot of great receivers in the team right now it's up the phenomenon but seeing desperate on instagram stuff like that running his routes competing against quarterback he's looking pretty good on social media if the. Front Office Lights, and we'll have to see when he gets you Brian has made it clear intrigued by the possibility of playing with Lamar Jackson quite the fall from grace from Desmond. What star he was he's thirty one years of age. Where do you think I'm GonNa come back with the Ravens for Dez Bryant I you know I think the issue with Dez has always been. When he goes outside the system, I mean, remember this is a guy that you know the cowboys wanted to take a pay cut to let's go back. Remember I think he was making sixteen million. I could have the numbers com wrong but it's in that area and he was clearly not playing to that level. He didn't have any bursts at the top of the route. He didn't separate his hands where we're really inconsistent, which is an indication of players, loosener legs he. Didn't he's not a guy who's to line up at multiple positions and still function really well because he needs to have a kind of like he needs to be a one place he needs to have his routes. He's not as a thinker of the of the game as he plays. You know he's a slower processing player. So for me learning a new offense with this guy, you know he's worth putting on the team from an executive standpoint if I signed Dez Bryant. And he's not my starting extra my starting see what am I getting out of them so okay, let's go through it. So if I sign them to say a minimum deal, two, million dollars. So I'm on the hook for a million bucks. Okay. If he makes the team on the Saturday of the before the opening game I guarantee salary for a year I got no flexibility there. Right. He can't help me at all in the kicking game. So unless he starting playing in the three receivers set, you know then he's not going to be active. So now I'm paying millions of dollars for a guy that I'm not gonNa have active now if he can. And he's GonNa make a big difference to my team. You know we drafted two receivers one in the third one in the six you know. So those two guys gotta take a back seat. They're cheaper labor force like none of this adds up like if you told me, you want sign Antonio Brown and you WanNa take on the game suspension young. Okay. Because I promise you Antonio Brown walks onto the field. There is nobody on Baltimore steam as good as they think they are at receiver and they have good receivers. There's nobody on that football team as good as Antonio Brown but he's the best player he's the best receiver on the team, but if Dez Bryant walks in. You know is he better than Hollywood? Brown no is see better. The Miles Birkett are Chris more or Willie snead. You know they drafted the dump Rene Texas they drafted the poor kid in the sixth round. So they got two young kids that they drafted like, where does he fit and then I I'm exposed at a million like these are all things like this is called second. Order thinking like it's one thing the media makes this big deal with says, bright. Well, you know does Bryant. Five years ago was a good player does Brian today may not be a good player just because he's a named certainly has from the past that's a different story as to how could translate this season
Power Five conferences consider cancelling 2020 football season
"It stands right now I mean this is what we're looking at right at this very moment that it doesn't seem like there's going to be a whole lot of college football this season and so. We're going to talk about the NFL season. Our season preview issue has to hit newsstands tomorrow as it stands right now with a lovely story by Jenny RENTA's on the cover, which is very excited. Very excited to talk to her about that and a little bit but let's just I acknowledge the weirdness of the fact that we have no idea what's going to happen the impact that this is going to have. On the NFL season on, you know they're not going to have college football You know we've seen evaluators already saying that this combine is going to be monumental because you know there might be a ton of kids without any tapeh that you're GonNa get to look at transfers who's leaving early I mean this is going to be I think chaos sort of hitting the funnel right now and everything's about to explode. It seems like the decisions from Yukon and then the MAC conference for kind of the first two moves that really got the ball rolling for the power five conferences to reconsider the season and everything really came to a head on Sunday Nights You had indications that there would be no football season that conferences were meeting to discuss this issue and then you had players saying they, they wanted to be able to play but also would. Hope to unionize, which is another significant development. So it's been a pretty chaotic twenty, four hours for college football, and so then the NFL is kind of moving ahead as scheduled things came to a head I. Think Sooner for College Football for a lot of reasons we've had players who have had. Issues, after testing positive for Cobra had entire teams that had to be quarantined. The NFL right now is in this training camp kind of locked down tight mode it's it's not a bubble obviously, players are going to and from, but it's kind of the normal constraints of training camp, and so we don't really know yet if it will work for the NFL obviously they are in a better. Position Than College football because players are represented by a union that is the big difference here, work working conditions and everything that goes with returning to work in pandemic had been hash out ahead of time, and there were clear protocols in place across the board So we still don't know if it's going to work for the NFL, but they're certainly in a better spot right now than college football. Thought. Teammate. Ross dellinger did a good job of illustrating one of the main issues which was you know there were doctors on these conference calls with the heads of all the power conferences and saying you know their studies that are coming back from Germany that. Percents seventy percent of the people who get the corona virus and their asymmetric and move on still have heart issues you know and that impacts athletes significantly You know I mean if the speed at which your heart beats or the size of your heart or whatever's going on there I mean that significantly impacts someone who doesn't aerobic sport right and who has to worry about you know. All their conditioning and all that kind of stuff and how the heart's pumping and all that kind of stuff and so I it blows my mind that we've gotten this far already down the down the road with the NFL, where in everyone just kind of looking over at college football now and saying Jesus is going to be us and it's hard not to think that it will be right i. mean the NBA seasons kind of plotting along? I mean there's Some little signs of positivity here and their Major League Baseball seems to be you know stumbling and then recovering stumbling and then recovering but I mean, we really going to have such a better idea about this and three or four weeks than we do now at I really don't know. Yeah. On what you raise is such an important point that we don't have all of the answers on the long term impacts of covert and that's why it was so silly earlier. This offseason, the people discussing like, Hey, it's a competitive advantage of athletes. Get it. Now, they don't have to worry about getting in the fall when first of all, we don't even know how long the you would have immunity from getting the virus, and then secondly, we don't know the long term impacts on the body, and as you mentioned the research coming back as indicated that for some people, it can be severe and long lasting and we know impacts the circulatory. System has neurological impacts. Those are very serious beyond just a simple virus that you get over. So it was never a binary thing where you either have a, you know a fatal outcome or a mild case. There's a lot of outcomes in between and I think for college athletes especially who are eighteen to twenty two years old who are not getting paid who are not professional athletes making this decision who also have school to deal with there just are. A lot more considerations at play and I. Think once you had conferences saying we're stopping play because we believe that it's safe. Then it really put the pressure on the other conferences I think to say, well, you know we can't make the claim that it's safe. Other conferences are saying it's not
Sheriff's deputy shot during overnight 'ambush' in Lamar County, Atlanta

A New Documentary Shines A Spotlight On The Lyricist Behind The Disney Renaissance
"Behind in beauty and the Beast Law Mermaid Aladdin was was basically one of the kind of. People who helped raise Disney into Disney renaissance, Disney, animation that we see in the nineties and he tragically died early from AIDS and This, movie directed by Don. Hahn goes into his life and his contributions to let that Disney legacy and It's it is direct is made in a way that is feels very much like an in Memoriam type of tribute to him because most of the film is apart from some archival footage of. The making of the songs behind the Beast and Lamar Mermaid is just photos of Howard Ashman and interviews with families and friends and colleagues But the interviews are all done in voiceover and none of the talking heads are seen a good way of making it all about Howard Ashman in all about just like his life in his experiences but in a sense, it kind of made it feel a little bit impersonal just because you're your invoices for a good. but it it works to make it. Solely, about him about about appreciating his life and I It's a really beautiful moving documentary. That is like it's made out of love because it's made by people who uh, sincerely cared about him and more than just like his contract to Disney and I but I did really enjoy the coverage that you see of him working with the orchestra and with the singers in the beast at which it movie opens with it shows them doing be our guest with Angela Lansbury and. Other singers and it's some it's really some. So it's just a really cool behind the scene sneak peek at it just like. To see him at work as well as just to see how it all came together in that kind of energy that before they knew it was gonna be a really big thing but everyone knows it's going to be something special kind of that kind of energy and I. I really like seeing that and it's a great documentary and it's streaming on Disney plus starting tomorrow August seventh. I was a big Fan of Don Hans previous

New Orleans musician offers kids trumpets for guns
"Now a story about a trumpeter who is hoping that music might help reduce gun violence. My name is Lamar Allen, trumpeter from New Orleans, Louisiana producers, songwriters, saying Last week, Alan learned of a shooting in his city. A nine year old boy, Devante Bryant was killed. I have a nine year old son. So for me, it just hit me different, you know. He wanted to find a way to get guns out of the hands of kids. Has trump is laying around and I know for me that Trump has saved me. So he posted on social media and said to all the youth of New Orleans, bring me a gun and I'll give you a trumpet. No questions asked. I wanted to build a relationship on trust with the kids, so that They wouldn't have to worry about getting into trouble. The musician called the city's mayor and got the police to agree that they would take the guns from him without asking for any details. And I say this in I have a different connection with these kids because I grew up like them. I know what they're going through. I know the type of environment that they're in and they aren't bad. Kids just dealt into bad circumstances. They are trying and wants him to do other things, but it's nothing for them to do. So far, Alan has taken in four guns and given away for trumpets. The first gun that I collected was from a girl like a little girl. And it was the only grand I was fully loaded and I just was like, man like this is a look. I would never suspect that she will have this. And she was the most excited about getting it gave with a trumpet. He has the information. If you want to get lessons, you could reach out to one of these teachers. They'll be willing to probably saved the situation. Yeah, I'd probably say the situation. Since he ran out of instruments. Alan started an online fundraiser. He has raised more than $10,000 for music supplies, and people have also donated their own instruments. That trumpet was the first thing I showed me. Oh, I really don't have to be here. It's really a whole other world out there. And Alan is hoping that this instrument will have a similar impact for kids in New Orleans today, so if I can create those little opportunities for one of two or three of them, they can actually bring that back. So their neighborhood and they were all over. That's the voice of trumpeter Shemar Allen, who is trying to reduce gun violence in his community in New Orleans.
Kanye West posts bizarre Twitter rant: ‘Kim tried to bring a doctor to lock me up’
"So Connie went on twitter tirade last night. Saying things like Chris. Stay away from his kids. He slammed Kim's playboy spread and he even said the movie. Get out is about him. Yeltsin claims that Kim was going to fly out to Wyoming with the doctor to get him locked up, so it sounds like Kim is trying to get him help, but these tweets which our now deleted did get pretty personal. How do you guys feel if you can? I mean how are you supposed to feel this entire thing is so devastating. I feel like this has been something that's been going on with Connie for a while now. Obviously, he's been pretty open about his mental illness, and the struggles that he's had with it in the past. It is very clear that he's obviously going through something. Obviously, we don't know if that means he's you know. Stop taking certain medications or whatever has gone on. On, but clearly he's in a little bit more of a manic state. I'm not a doctor so I. Don't know if that's the right terminology, but clearly clearly going there's something and as his wife and partner for so many years mother of his children. I mean I'm sure it's devastating for her I. Mean I know firsthand what it's like to deal with somebody who has mental illness and let me tell you something it is horrific. Horrific you are not dealing with a person that is a the right sound mind, so it's almost impossible to help them, and they feel like everybody is sort of attacking them in what he was tweeting about being locked up. It's like she's not trying to lock you up. She's trying to help you and get you WANNA. Pass right now to get you to your most Sane Self, so I'm sure it's dead the skating for her. What do you think? I mean if you haven't dealt with someone who has gone through mental illness, especially member. You really do not know the distance that you are willing to go for that person you know people ask questions like when is enough enough? But when this is your family member, you have go the distance and for people are forever, and when people are going through manic episodes. Is sometimes they will say things that will cut deep. They will say things that will hurt their actions Are you know pretty irrational at times when you have family members? Sometimes you just have to take a step outside of the situation and assess what's going, and sometimes you're able to realize okay. They were in the right state of mind. They were saying things that maybe they do not mean and and you're. You're willing to just ride it out with them for him. This is the father of her children. This is her husband who we know adores her, so I feel like she is going to do whatever it takes to help him and to get him better, but you guys. There is no simple solution. There is not sanction. This is a lifelong journey, so I think right now. The whole family is going through it. But also with Kim, you know she has to assess how she is feeling. Because as you are not well, then you're trying to fill someone else's cost. That is half. Empty your nothing for yourself so it also it just falls on. You know you need to assess how you are. You need to help this person, but it's going to be a journey. Be. A mother continued to be a mother to the four children. She also has to be both mom and dad right now, and I think that a lot of I mean I've gone through this personally, but you know like people with mental illness have a hard time taking medication because they do complain that it causes them to feel jake or less, creative or sort of a little bit foggy, and I think that obviously we know I've been a huge conde. Conde stand from day one. He's obviously a musical genius, and he's somebody that constantly wants to be in the zone wants to be creating wants to be putting out certain things and when he's taking stuff that makes him feel like he's not living up to that. Potential I can understand him saying well. I don't want to do that to myself anymore. But unfortunately what we saw last night with the tweeting is the effects of not taking care of himself right? Right one hundred percent I think if you look at the history of the Kardashian women and their relationships. If you look at chloe and Lamar if you look at Scott in Courtney. Even when those relationships were romantically done, they never gave up on those people we saw how chloe came to Lamar's rescue, and how Chris was behind her, and how the sisters were behind her to help Lamar get out of the spot. He's at so being someone like Kim. WHO's? WHO's a part of a family like that? WHO believes that wind? She has kids or this man. She is not going to give up on him even if she's out of this situation for herself, she is going to stay in this for kids and I. Think the most devastating part for Cam, which is also the most devastating part for me. Is that people on the Internet are egging this on and laugh about this man going through this manic episode? Nine might be saying things that cut deep and are very personal, but I think she can get over that. I think what's going to her. Is that people are sitting here in laughing at this man going through this, and that is going to be the problem,
OBJ: 'The blond is back' and new attitude, too
"Newton Noto Beckham Jr had their own red table talk early on Tuesday. No Jada Pinkett Noble Smith. But that doesn't mean that both of these two were not going to say something that got people's attention. They both used the word humble but coining the context of tired of being humble. Cam Newton said that about replacing Tom Brady, the elephant in the room with the doing the Patriots and Noto Beckham Jr soak office hat and said the blonde is back and said he is tired of being humble. He is tired of playing that game. I don't know if we're going to Jada Pinkett joining them at any time soon, But Cam knew no Dahlbeck. Um do you have there red table talk, and it got plenty of attention, Especially way they use the word humble and the way they wanted to use it being tied of being that way to satisfy others. When it comes to playing football. I don't know if you can hear my eyes rolling in the back of my head right now, But when I saw that first I'm not going to be nice anymore. I saw that I thought was that broke version of LeBron's thing with a shop like that's what I saw, if if anybody wants to do Parody of this, with Victor Cruz leading the conversation, and you've got Odell Beckham looking smug, and it's weird jacket he's wearing Todd Gurley looking like he doesn't know what's going on one side of the table in Cannes, sitting with a cigar in these in these glasses of wine all over the table in the decanter, I mean, It was well done. I'll give him that Odo back him and his production company put this thing together. It was very well. I will say it was great to hear them. Talk about black lives matter Movement and what Corona virus That's very honest things to say about Corona virus and kind of the fear that a lot of people have of playing the season. The athletes at the center of this They are the product. They're the ones who make owners millions and billions of dollars every year yet I think that we missed the mark. Sometimes these were not necessarily considering all the health and safety protocols. Ah, when it comes to them, But so that's the stuff that I actually could get down with. But when the word humble was thrown around, I felt like you know, I needed Kendrick Lamar to come in and just kind of like, walk that back a little bit, because when you talk about the blonde is back and this that and the other thing with Odell Beckham have we not been hearing some version of the same thing for the last 3 to 4 years, Freddie Even before he went to Cleveland. I mean, it's every single season is new Year new Me New Year new Me But silence the haters. Got a You know, everybody wants to be labeled. We want to label something in society because we don't know what it is. And I'm tired of being labeled. Oh, my goodness. I'm tired of hearing this is every single year Put up or shut up, bro. I can't handle it anymore. By the corner. Cronin, Finn Fitzsimmons of Freddie Coleman on Friday and Fitzsimmons and ESPN radio. I said it's for the longest time and every time he does or says something like this without a Beckham Jr It further further confirms my suspicions. He still wants to be in New York. He doesn't want to be in Cleveland. Yeah, he'll say all the right things about the organization. But if he had his way, he still be a New York giant playing in the biggest city in the world when it comes to New York because his personality fits more in New York than it does in Cleveland. He doesn't realize that if he just goes out there because to me, he has way too much talent. So have that kind of mouth promising and making those false promises would come without backup Jr. I'm with you. I don't want to hear about humility I don't want to hear about the blind is back in. All of the nonsense stopped talking about it Be about it because you had that kind of ability and talent. But I still wonder I don't want any more. He confirms it every time Courtney Every time he opens his mouth. It tells me each and every time That he still wants to be in the biggest city in the world. Whether the New York Giants or in New York jet, Cleveland does not fit the personality to me in the mind of Odo Beckham Jr so and you're putting that out there. To me. It seems like he's laying the groundwork that if eyeball out in Cleveland, I want to go somewhere else where I believe my personality is going to fit that city and clear as a great sports city. Put it back on. Gina's realized that if he bawls out in Cleveland and leads into the playoffs and end of a deep run in the play offs, he could go anywhere representing him in a Cleveland Browns, but because he doesn't leave his personality Is suited for Cleveland. He keeps putting stuff out there time and time again to let everybody know I'm a celebrity, and I'm too much of a celebrity for the city that I'm playing it now because I did not want to be traded away from the city where I started my NFL career in the first place, and it's like we've seen the story play out. I said again and again, I mean, think about some of the distractions and think about what happened this offseason with him handing out cash Tol issue players of the national championship and You know, slapping the police officer on the Mac side in Superdome, and you know all of these things. It's like he was quiet for a little bit. And there were some trade rumors before that. I mean, like it or not, there was talks behind the scenes about him trying to get out of Cleveland. I have Pete. You know, sources that I've spoken with people close the situation. I know that it's been debunked allegedly at this point, but at one point that was actually in the works being talked about. It didn't just come out of thin air, so I mean I understand where he's at right now in wanting to wipe the sleep this late, clean because, you know, by his standards, you know he didn't you know, he still was 1000 yard receiving season last year, but he wasn't where he wanted to be. I think that he had different expectations for what his first year Cleveland could have looked like. But you know, the blonde is back. Does that mean that the celebrity and all of the distractions come with it to be as you'll remember? You know that last season in New York in 2018 there were a lot of distractions. There was an interview with Little Wayne where he was talking about his quarterback and essentially throwing him under the bus that created a lot of distractions in the locker room. So I mean, is that coming with it? If you're talking about the blonde is back, because, sadly, we know that this is one of the most talented wide receivers to ever play the game. But beyond that, you know, the blonde has kind of been the demise for him.

Deshaun Watson endorses Houston Texans' potential Antonio Brown pursuit, even if the franchise hasn't shown interest
"Brown now, so there was some videos of him working out with Russell Wilson earlier this offseason. We've seen Antonio Brown working out with Lamar Jackson. Now to the Texans, maybe have some interest. We know their quarterback DeShaun Watson looks interested. Shawn Watson responded to a tweet from former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson. And what Shad Johnson tweeted a B to the Texans would like a prayer. Emoji link, I guess praying it happens. And this John Watson's tweet was basically a Mame of you know, Drake looking like, Really, I'm intrigued. I got intrigued type of look. Here's the reality. But the Texan sign Antonio Brown, then shame on Bill O'Brien. You cannot justify signing a bee in the same off season that you shipped away DeAndre Hopkins for nothing for David Johnson's contract in a second round pick, You cannot trade away the game's best wide receiver and then bring in a guy like Antonio Brown. Who is a locker room cancer. You can't do it. You can't justify it. Let's ignore the off the field stuff with a B and the suspension that's likely coming to the guy. Let's just talk about what he did the last year and 1/2. From alienating himself in Pittsburgh and missing a winner Go home Week 17 game. You then going to the Raiders and hurting himself by freezing his foot off. So then having an issue with the NFL helmet rule. To getting into with Mike. May I threatening to punch the guy? You secretly recording Jon Gruden. And then releasing a video after the Raiders finally released him and maybe be like I'm free. I'm free as it playing for the Raiders, making $15 million was, you know being kept in, you know. Unlivable conditions that Antonio Brown was in such a terrible life situation. He's finally free. That's what you get on the field, or, I guess technically off the field with the Raiders last year. We all know about the alleged crimes, and this guy has committed the lawsuit she's dealing with, so he's facing a suspension and you're the Texans and you're going to sign Antonio Brown Anthea traded away, arguably the game's best wide receiver. Who has never been and off the field malcontent who has always done the right thing in the Houston community, You can't sell Texans fans on Antonio Brown. If you traded away, DeAndre Hopkins, you just can't do it. Why would you trade away Hopkins to take a chance on Abie, who's facing a suspension? And we all know at some point Something's going to go wrong because it always goes wrong. For Antonio Brown. I mean, you cannot At any under any circumstance signed this guy. When everything we've heard from Bill O'Brien is he wants character guys, Bill O'Brien's cliche lines in every press conference. I've been out with him smart, dependable, reliable, tough football players. That's what we want. Antonio Brown is the opposite of every trade Bill O'Brien says he wants to be the biggest hypocrite. GM Bill O'Brien signs Antonio Brown. You can't do it. You just can't I don't care. Baby wants to play for nothing that sends the wrong message to the entire locker room. You traded DeAndre Hopkins. You gotta live with that. You deal with brains and cooks. You have will fuller Let's go figure it out. Yeah. Kenny Stills, Kiki cuties motivated to come back and play well in his third season. You made your bed now you gotta lie in it. Bring in Antonio Brown when there's going to be a condensed training camp. You think this guy's gonna follow social distancing guidelines? No shot Antonio Brown. We had every strip club in Houston by week three. It's called for what it is. He's the last guy the Texans need right now. That's the type of signing that alienated the entire locker room.

"With chains we have. That's a terrible spot doc. And that was not a first down and then they go to review and with all our cameras there. They can't conclude something differently. But these Games are so close guys that I I feel like we can do this. Almost every one of them where we're looking at anything and we're saying a yard is the difference between this team and that team you're right it's terrible spot. It's a terrible able spot that the television crew put the first down fake marker on because it didn't actually line up with the first down marker the field which is why I think they originally originally marked him where he was and said it was I down and then looked at a number of replays including additional footage. I don't know what that means. Maybe patriots brought some cameras on the sidelines and offered it up at the end. They're either way to me. This felt like we made the call. And there was no way to overturn it based on all the angles that we had based on the way those guys landed. I don't think they got hosed is at all I think if you look at it where the marker was it looks like he got this maybe but I don't think I mean one play is not going to get me to say that you got hoes than any one game you go through the game and say he got away with a fumble earlier that the seahawks got that they should've lost. That's not GONNA do. It has to be much more green. It's like last year's pass interference in saints. It's game against the rams. I guess it'd be agreed. It's like that one inch mishap. It's not GonNa make me say you gotTa hose you know hose. You couldn't stop Davante Adams. That's what got you hoes. That was the is to not that one. It's an odd out hawks. Players say that that's the reason why they lost the game. You know how you gotTa hose you kept using your running game instead of letting your own world quarterback back trying to get it out there trying to get it out a little bit and see what he can do instead of continuing to go to running backs that were recently dishing out shots in a parking lot at a raiders game uh-huh dominate. You don't know how to do this. It is not when the fumble. That's not a fumble in the first quarter. It's what happened at the end of the game that we talk about. I didn't even remember that play until you just reminded me. Oh yeah there was another blown one in that way. I'm still learning date. I'm still learning not to do this. I find it convenient to by by the way. Dominique that my beloved Aaron Rodgers has that game after you spent last week telling me how much better Russell Wilson has been over the last three seasons than Aaron Rodgers. And you were right right but you were right yesterday. You were not right yesterday. He wants no no. Did you see the Manna from heaven. He's got one receiver out there. He's got the Pink Number Sixteen Komarom Homerun way to pink Heathrow into that Sternberg guy here. I'm not sure I thought that Aaron play well and I said that he would win in play. Well however you're going to bid on limb by saying that he played better than Russell Wilson district team one doesn't mean he played better here more support. There were also I mean. We're being honest. No no no he came. They must know that's more support over there. Bits whose number sixteen pink number sixty one linzie coming up next on my cell Stevie show I think also is important to take care of your mental. That's very important. "Welcome highly questionable with very excited landed on this Monday of football Monday to have a total football expert with us also former football player Dominic Foxworth. Let's get started. You didn't mean any of Dad. I know you didn't do you. View Lamar Jackson the ravens differently after losing to the titans interesting game obviously the most. It's interesting one of the weekend. Giving none of us saw that coming that way. That offense stifled that way and a whole lot of people today are taking a little too gleeful of a victory lap at the failure of Lamar Jackson because the expectations were raised to an MVP level. And this is the part. That's hard right because even though it was a we are game even though the titans only had a couple of drives of over thirty five years even though the Ravens failed situation thing never failing on fourth and short when an offense that has has that kind of credentials on its resume does that for twelve point in the postseason. It is hard to look other places other than the quarterback you you haven't seen since one thousand nine hundred seventy offense. This good failed that badly doing in the big spot and surprised. All of us a lot of that is gonNA fall on the head of the quarterback Lamar's come to so many people through no effort of his own so it makes it hard to give an accurate assessment of his play because some people that you don't want to Mike Mike clay onto that and pretend to have as if you're saying that he's not going to be a success. I was encouraged. Frankly with some of the things I've saw in a game. Obviously losing to a six seat is unacceptable and he made a lot of mistakes but it wasn't as if he could not throw the ball. They were daring him to throw the ball at times. And then they would drop back into Max coverage and he was still converting third in sixteen thirty and twelve else third and sixers third and ten. Those are plays that he converted and those things he did through the hair saw. I was impressive but losing. You have to kind of come down on quarterback a bit. But I'm still kind of all in all positive Lamar. He's not a playoff choker and he's been successful really saw. You're being soft on him. I I mean listen. I don't WanNa rip on Lamar Jackson. I don't want to rip on the Ravens. But what a number one seed with an MVP quarterback scores twelve points in a game like this against against the sixth seed. Titans team that started the season two and four. You do have to point fingers. Alamar Jacksonville accounted for over five hundred yards of total offense. The Titans Titans were outgained by two hundred thirty yards of offense on the game. So you're looking at this and trying to figure out what went wrong. While the titans executed perfectly when they needed to they kept Lamar Jackson running horizontally instead of gaining vertically down the field they made him win with the past which teams tried to do all season long but couldn't do well enough. They did it well at this time. They put enough men in the box to challenge him and force him to use his legs but they also shut down those options down the field. He didn't have the safety valves that he's used to in those instances before the postseason started. We said there was no way that the titans would be able to keep up the incredible red zone. Conversion percentage that they had in the regular season which was nearly seventy percent. And and guess what it's now a one hundred percent in the postseason. They call them week thirteen so when they are able to convert when it matters most and stop when it matters. There's most that's how you get a game like that fair criticism of Lamar though is we haven't seen him come back from behind when they're down in the first quarter they're pretty much out of it. I think that I I saw the ability to potentially do it. But he still hasn't done it. So that's the fairest. I'M GONNA give to Lamar and I'm not gonNA look around and look at my company because it's GonNa make me say and I mean. We got to give credit to Mike rebel because one of the things that I worried about. Most with this titans team was that they hadn't seen the ravens in the regular season that they wouldn't know how to combat Lamar Jackson but they took some tips tips from how the bills faced him. They put some of their own twists and turns and rebel scheme. This game to perfection in ways that you would not have anticipated going including getting stops on things like like fourth in short which the Ravens were eight on in the regular season the two of you. He's soft on Lamar Jackson. And you're out here. Crediting might rebel before any of us have mentioned than a Derrick Henry Earl and then he pushed him in the back and a defensive tackle for the Ravens is saying after the game. I've never been in a situation before where I feel like. I don't have a chance. That guy stopped all over the ravens. And you've got a quarterback now advancing to one game from the Miami Super Bowl after throwing seventy yards in both of these playoff games. Mahomes four minutes yesterday. Is Major League baseball fall coming down too hard on the Astros okay. You do not see penalties like this. Come down a short of taking away. Someone's team franchises organizations. Kids do not get punished the way the Astros are being punished for what I imagine is a bit of a lifetime body of work on cheating given that. This isn't the first time that they've found themselves in this situation. Asian so you got the general manager gone. The manager gone to five million dollar penalty maximum allowed and a loss of a lot of high draft picks. And what I would say to you guys is. This is a elite trying to make a statement about we will not allow this and the last time I saw something like this. It was the overreaction of bountygate when something that we all knew to become an throughout the sport was punished so severely that the entire employee base turned on a commissioner who was interested in over punishing because everyone loves over punishing. This is good for Manfred and and very few others to me. This is an interesting one because you have to figure out how high the incentives are for victory which is very high for the Astros. The amount of money Johny that came in the amount of prestige that comes in what it means for them going forward. I mean it is a very severe punishment but that's the kind of punishment you need in order to deter future teams us from doing this a dead. You could say that this is just everybody signed steals but when it becomes technology when it becomes using things that are very clearly band and it's not just just trying to get an edge by being able to see those signs I think they do need it nip it in the bud with a very severe penalty which is yeah. I'm not an inside baseball. Insider side about it from all the things I've rented so suggests that this is unique and they did go across the line that most baseball players and most baseball teams seem to say that they would not however if this punishment is supposed to act as a deterrent. I'm not sure that it does. I guarantee you every team that is watching. This would would gladly turn over five million dollars and a couple years is worth of first and second round draft picks to get a world series trophies. I'm not sure that the punishment is a deterrent as much as it is. The public chain did the seahawks get hosed by at that spot I am of the belief that the ability to win one score games is not actually an ability not that sometimes you're gonNA lose the one score games because of the way the ball bounces. However if I were to subscribe to that the pace that I would do it is Russell? Wilson is going to be throwing into my end zone at the end end of the game. And they absolutely got hosed here because in this microscopic game we still measuring old guys.

"The News on news. This is the third line news so mark. Jackson made history last night when he broke. Michael Vick single-season quarterback rushing record was watching it all happen. Live and here was his reaction. There you go I flick coming back. The question upon began. Okay after the game several jets players lined up to swap jerseys with Lamar and he brought some extra jerseys. We did head to bring them So this is this is all over. Twitter looked like people are kind of criticizing jets players for slopping jerseys after getting beat that that badly I mean the guys after every single game and the MVP sees them all. These guys are friends. They're they're exchanging jerseys. It is it. It was very thoughtful of him to bring extra jerseys. Because you know a few extra people might have wanted them and we got reaction from Tom. Brady on this He tweeted Members Lamar forty are dash on natural grass but he has to wear rollerblades. Is Actually Thomas best sweet because we all know the Tom. Tom Actually did a little running in the last game in years. Not Quite as poetic Lamar And then someone else says are driven. Data's tweeted to Lamar. You the goat my boy and tag them. And Lamar responded not yet. That's basically how he. Yeah that is instances mantra and the Ravens Montreal season to really great moment last night and again I just I love Michael. Vick is being able to experience this with him and that they have a relationship spike deep. That's a record that we never even imagined it would be possible to break in the media. Were very cynical. And sometimes that critical thinking is valuable but sports at their best are fun.

"So she'll lamar putting up all these ridiculous numbers. How has he been doing it? I think obviously it starts arts with his ability to hurt teams with both his arm and his legs. I mean just athletically. He's doing things. We don't see anyone else do the way he jukes. I mean he makes a defender Vendor. Look silly the F.. One of these cliffs on twitter goes viral. It feels like every week extension with his legs. Yeah one of my favorite stats is. He's the the eighth best rusher this season. And he's leading the league in yards per carry. It's incredible yeah all those stats. I haven't seen anything like him before. And you know obviously whenever we talk about Lamar Jackson and we talk about you. Know his skills on the ground his running skills but we really shouldn't overlook his passing using ability. There's no doubt about it. I mean his passing numbers. If you compare them to second year quarterback they stack up very well in what what he doesn't get enough credit for is his ability to read coverages and also his decision. Making you know you saw in that game against the Patriots. They tried every different coverage in in the book with Bill Belichick to confuse him and it didn't work. He knew what he was looking at. You saw that Monday night. Football game against the rams that's going up against Wade Phillips one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL and you can see it on film where he's saying you know. Maybe we can confuse the Mark Jackson accent. He's only in his second year and I mean Jackson just knew exactly what he was doing getting rid of the football so that really is the part of his game that you know it doesn't get shown with all the highlight reel plays but if you're watching the film we're talking to opposing coaches. Were talking to his teammates. That's what's really stood out and we see this in this game. Aim yesterday his ability to improvise. There is at one play there in the red zone and he looks like there's nothing on the ground for Jackson flipping charcoal the goal. Nick coyle these for the touchdown on conventional but effective so good at school yard plays and that's the kind of exciting stuff we've seen from Lamar this season. Yeah just that little flip. I mean that is what has made defensive coordinators so frustrated with this guys you can it almost. No what's coming at times. You can have every player doing what they're supposed to do every assignment and at some point just the improvisational skills that we see see from him where it almost requires a defender to be in two places at one time to stop him and Yeah you're right that that was another incredible play. It seems like he has is at least one of those every week. And what has John Harbaugh had to say about what he sees from. Lamar so far. I think our boys just kinda shocked at how Mature Jackson Ms at twenty two. There's one clip against the bengals. That kind of went viral were harbaugh. goes up to Lamar Jackson. It's a blow out. And he goes up to him on the sideline and says you know you've changed the game locates. He's country refugees twenty years when I know what you're doing knowing you're going to see kids wearing number eight jerseys for the next twenty years trying to play quarterback and Jackson's reaction is like that's cool but I'm trying to win the Super Bowl right now and you can see just like wow. This kid really is special. I don't have to sort of coach him to be humble or WANNA get better. Do those different things. That's just sort of his makeup. The way he's wired. Also can you give us a little background on Lamar Jackson. Yeah he grew up in in Florida. He got heavily recruited. He was the great high school player but his mom specifically wanted to make sure he was going to go somewhere and be a quarterback so Louisville was the school that said we promise you if if he comes here. He's going to play quarterback and Lamar Jackson. Are you kidding me with this. He played as a freshman freshman. I think he started eight games with the. MVP OF THEIR BOWL game touchdown on Jackson Daniela's then he just took off and in had just an incredible sophomore year. The winner is Lamar Jackson of University of Louisville. Won The heisman. Trophy had another good year as a junior and then Enters the draft and gets taken by the Ravens and when he first came into the League there were some teams and definitely some pundits who thought he might be better off else as a wide receiver. I don't think that Lamar Louisville kids in that in that discussion in fact there's a question that he may be. He might be a receiver and it has to do with girth and and and skill set as well we now know. A number of teams have also requested the Jackson workout with the wide receivers as well. They want to see both workouts Jackson's yet to say at least publicly whether he's amenable animal to that. Why was that part of the conversation at all? I mean there are so many things at play. I think you can start with these sort of bigger picture after that. NFL teams are not great. At evaluating quarterbacks I it's hard to do and you see your after year. Where a guy the guy who drafted I is not necessarily the best quarterback out of that class when you look at it three years later so I think that's number one and then I mean there are a lot of these people in? Nfl Front offices just have a the traditional mindset of what they want out of the quarterback position or you know what that person looks like and they sort of lacked imagination to look at a player like the Mark Jackson and say there are so many things he does well. We need to build around all of his strength in a lot of teams. Just don't think about that. I mean there's a scenario an alternative initiative reality where Jackson get drafted by another team. And he's not even playing right now where he's playing in the wrong scheme and so he's drafted last year. The Ravens taken with the last pick in the first round and he's not expected to start. That's right yeah Joe. FLACCO is their quarterback to start the season they go four and five flacco gets injured. All of a sudden Lamar Jackson gets a chance and the team just takes off I mean they go six and one in their final seven games. They make the playoffs. He's the youngest. I quarterback ever to start a playoff game and that really showed them that. You know what we don't need to wait with this kid. We don't need to have him learned behind a veteran. He's ready right now and we need to sort of invest all our resources this offseason into making sure he succeeds and just remind everyone of the type of football all the ravens were playing under. Joe FLACCO I always felt like they were one of the most boring teams in the NFL. I mean not just last year with flacco the last several years you know. Some of these franchises are just sort of stuck in mud. They're boring they're irrelevant. And that was the ravens I mean I always said for those of you who watched the red zone channel you you know there are certain teams that come on and you're kind of like come on. I don't need to see what's happening with this team right now. And then all of a sudden Jackson comes in and they're changing their offense on the fly why they're changing the way they play. So it's incredible how far they've come in one year just with that. That transition quarterback and they've they've really invested invested in building a team around him. How how have the ravens built around Lamar Jackson number one is promoted Greg Roman to offensive offensive coordinator and for those who are unfamiliar with Greg? Roman he was the forty Niners Offensive Coordinator when Colin Kaepernick was playing so well from two thousand eleven two two thousand.

"Let me ask you a question. You go into the Ravens Game Sunday I want to. I'm going up I really want to. It could be the super bowl. But the Redskins the panthers at one o'clock in that's true and so I do have to rely. I do have sort of a responsibility. Gino Oh and did you know this that the Ravens Forty niners game is on Fox yes and the redskins. Panther's game is unseen BS. I did not know that I thought that that might be the case. I thought they would try to move that around. One of those network across that part of it was because I think that NBC might have tried to get this game Fox blocker do you know Fox and CBS both have a certain number of blocks. And I think that might have been a concession is that that might have moved to see. Well we know Fox blocked cowboys Patriots last week. And that's why are they got forty niners packers this week though you've got patriot. Patriots Texans in the NBC. Sunday night spot and it's a CBS double header. Right and the the forty niner raven game is on Fox so they're not moving brady out of Sunday night for this one. I don't know if it's because it's blocked or because NBC said. You know what we got Brady Against Shawn Watson that's pretty good But it's a one o'clock game and it's it will be a little bit crazy Baltimore Tortoise going to be nuts in Baltimore in. It's also this is could be the opportunity to see the Redskins at one o'clock opposite a another one o'clock game get outraged the other one o'clock game we've seen the redskins numbers dropped significantly when it's up against another big game typically. That's been a game involving the cowboys. Yes yes this is head to head. One o'clock Ravens Forty niners or Redskins. Panthers what are most people in this market going to watch I I. I don't know I don't know I. I don't know why he would watch how you could turn away from Ravens. Forty niners have especially after what happened last night. Especially after that Monday night game I mean all all week people are going to be talking about Lamar Jackson and you know I view him the same way I do. Come one of those yet dozen guys that are so unique that they become has become must wa. I become less watch. I just don't want to link them to those guys. Until oh he sustained something like this I gotTa give credits Martin Conway my my Co Instructor for the Business Sports Media. Georgia I teach towards George down. He said this could be the new crime. Stoppers in Baltimore remembered basketball player. Yeah where was his naming a Keel car. Where the he ever playing college? I don't see hall. He got to Seton Hall. But I think there were eligibility issues and stuff so I'm not sure if he ever actually played a game for those that don't know what we're talking about there was is a basketball player. A high school player named Akil car. Who apparently was just ridiculous to watch and they nicknamed him the crime stopper because is every time he played crime completely came to a halt and Baltimore because they all wanted to watch him? This could be Lamar. Jackson could be the new crime stoppers in Baltimore. And I think that's it. He's come to a halt. Come one o'clock on Monday. I think aren't they. I think they are. They are the Super Bowl favourite after last night after destroying the rams the way they did there now on my book Aaron. They're the favorites the Patriots. I've got them at at basically three two. I'm sorry I've got them at five to two and I've got the Patriots at three two one. It looks explain. It looks like in Vegas for the most part the Ravens are the favourite. And when you look in New Jersey and some other places the Patriots are still the favorite there but it's close forty niners and saints are co-favorites in the NFC to win the NFC championship. So we could definitely be facing a preview of the Super Bowl I raynal don't see anybody stopping the ravens except an injury to Jack Site. That's the only thing that's what I see them going. I if caught. I almost hope that game in Foxboro. 'cause I'd love to see the Ravens go into Foxborough in just S. all over. Well they sent an AFC championship game. As I think the Patriots can stop them although that would be that would be. You WanNa Belichick's greatest achievements. Yes somehow the ravens run roughshod through the rest of their schedule get to AFC title game. BELLICHIK stops them. Yeah I wouldn't underestimate bill But I will be there on Sunday Amity Bank stadium for this okay so that means you can't ask Bill Callahan. Any questions in five minute press conference going to follow the panthers. I'm not driving Charlotte to see to see this team play. DVR The redskin game and watch the forty niner game live you know. I think he can do that in this century. I'm not sure you can do that. couple of other quick things before we move onto the redskins actually before I move onto introducing the audience that we have. And what they said about you before we get started so on Friday The NFL network started this Show in identifying the one hundred greatest players in NFL has watched it. I've not watched it. I think it's a great show. I mean because when we were growing up running backs this this was running backs. This was running back when we were growing up running backs where the starts right and I mean running backs where the guys that you fell in love with that you watch so two things on this number number one Because we haven't done a show since I saw this list. Did you see the twenty four finalists should have been on that list. Of course you know overture own. Of course he should've absolutely on that on that twenty four lists and I talked about this on Friday. I thought it was a disgrace that he was not on. That should have been on the list in front of batteries. He should have been on the list in front of Thurman Thomas In my opinion and he should have been on the list and you can speak to this better than I. He should have been on the list before. Jim Taylor you know I think that was that was just trying to grab somebody from that. From that era well grabbed a Lotta guys from a lot of different. I know they did. I know they did. I think they were trying to do their best. I with that Look I think we go should have been on minimum on the twenty four th on the list of twenty four I think Larry Czanka should have been on the list. I don't work I I watched I don't also inside. So did I watched sonke too so I remember in the World Footballer. He he was he he was for his time one of the most feared running backs in the NFL he will. I would've put song among the twenty four to so Rigaud should've been on the twenty four and the The final list Ahead here moments ago now let me ask you question. I watched it and I haven't watched it so don't spoil spoiler if it's really good in spots no no. It's great. I mean the the the film of these guys running is great so I'm not going to spoil. I've heard Bella. Chicks phenomenal. He is he he really is. He's phenomenal in it But you know I think. Although they don't say this in the stories that they were they wrote they they rated from one through twelve. No I heard that they don't rank them okay but they made a big point of saying of making answer. Why did they introduce Jim Brown? I it was a way to introduce the program. Everybody knows the gym around on the team. I know that put but they touted him. It's number one. Wouldn't you put number. Yes I would. Here's my argument. They were ranking them. And maybe I'm wrong and I you know I could be wrong. 'cause there's nothing online that says they rated them one through twelfth right. They got around to tend to introduce in Walter Payton it was not supposed to be ranked. Okay was it alphabet ICAL. I don't think ground around could have been the first one actually Tommy. Guess what I've got. This medical Emmett Smith was introduced second on the show the way they just the way they laid it out on. NFL DOT COM. He's alphabetically ocassion. Brown is number one alphabet. Emmett Smith was introduced. As was Earl Campbell number two. No he was not okay so Emmett Smith was number two on the show so the list so forget what I said. They obviously didn't rank them according to any kind of order because I would have been pretty angry if they waited till ten to get wall would agree with you so okay but if they put her Campbell number two. I don't know if I would have had a problem with that. I I mean I I mean to me it. It's Jim Brown Walter Payton. It's Barry Sanders. emmitt Smith Earl Campbell's Campbell's always been in that that that group for me so I was glad to see him. Make the final list. The guys that we thought shouldn't have been in by the way I could have been there in front of Franco Harris to do the steeler teams. Tommy were all about their defense number one and then yet you had Franko and you had and you had bradshaw in the the last two super bowls throwing to Swann Stallworth. As a big portion of their offense thought Franko was Great Hall of fame running back. I think we're go was better. Okay I would again. My big issue with Rigaud was was bad. It's on there. I mean there's no doubt good personally I don't even think about. It should be in the hall of fame. There's no doubt Out that was was a running back. Jerome Bettis come on Eric. Dickerson made the final twelve. I Arctic was the third running back that they they mentioned Eric Actors in number three on my list well Eric Dickerson was was a really good running back to hall of Famer top twelve all time. I think he had lenny. You know they'd guys here that I can't speak to Earl Dutch Clark from the thirties. The final twelve they had they had Stephen Beard for either. Did and I understand that you do you know. Yeah what about Marion Motley. Mary Motley we absolute way. Do you see the video on Iranian. I've seen some of those highlights. I mean it's basically. They took Joe Jacobi gave him the ball and didn't anywhere anywhere like a Jersey ever in the seventies and I understand Steve Van Buren the Eagles won two. NFL titles and forty eight and forty nine. With Steve Van Buren. I Ah fullback. Wrote a book about the Eagles you did this I did. Is that one available for a nickel and Amazon. Yes it is. Yeah why did you write a book about somebody. He paid me to write a book about. Of course I wrote a book about professional wrestling. Somebody pay me to do that. I never knew you wrote a book about the. It's called Eagles essential. So you'd like it. It's actually an it's an easy read. It doesn't come with crayons is good Remind me I would resign. Brought it up was Rigaud I but secondly so somebody called. When I was in in the conversation about this on the radio show Friday and and said Jackson's got to be on the list? I he played thirty eight games. I said I I know what Bo Jackson was Bo. Jackson makes the top five all time. Great running backs if if he just plays for two more years but he didn't right he played thirty eight games. So my son Corbin you guys know out of the Blue Do..

They had basically win all their games because Pittsburgh had built what we thought with an insurmountable Lee nearby. Oh, Pittsburgh win this division. Pittsburgh trying to get because at one point seven twenty one. They're in there in the running forgetting one of those one or two hours to buy. I thought so now all of a sudden this kid gets in there and Martin Mony weeks credit John Haba, they put him in a system where he can be he can benefit as colleges. Yes, is is school playground. But we're trying to win games. So instead of trying to oh, let him run Joe flacco office. No, no, let him run what he's comfortable, and we're going to build upon that. Now, guess what they get Lamar Jackson. The by the change. Another see Lamar you have to get better during the football running fine. We don't want to inhibit you from running the football. But if you can't throw in this league, you can't survive we know what he can do. Yeah. Bill to build upon bat. I would agree. But he showed me he can run it and stay pretty hell. His survival in earning the game took a shot, and that was unnecessary. He was running on the left side line. He was running. He could have just got out of bound. He had already pick. I know exactly the play you're talking about. But the DB's is still a little queasy about really striking like, really. Going to get up out of bounds. Male young is his twenty second birthday today. "Yards, but and again that won't sound impressive. But there'll be a couple of chunk plays in there. And then the rest with his feet. Look. I'm just I've seen this with with Vince young. We saw what are three hill you were there for a while this works and this is in their season where it is going to work as a rookie. And that's why I see him analogous with Vince young. What's your reaction to that do the analogy to Vince young and Lamar Jack's it's interesting, we're in a different NFL because vision went out there and threw more interceptions than he did touchdowns and one offense rookie of the year HALE, but his cO chooses coach coast was Jeff Fisher say, no more. Jerry gos- first year coach say, no more bus coach, I'll give this young lot more credit than most people out there. He retired with a winning quarterback record. Look the numbers weren't great at the quarterback position. But damn have. We not figured out did Jeff Fisher was out there. Running plays. The air Dickerson was running his rookie year. Now lasco. And so all I'm looking at when I see the example vision, I'm saying, you know, what a guy who is not playing position properly is not a great balance between pass and run. But like you said in doses it will be affected. But I just think this is a week where he finally comes to hall agree anytime when when I saw the stats, I think, I think the first game he played and I saw twenty seven Russia's I say that's got to be a misprint running back. And then I saw I really ran the ball twenty seven times, you know, you're run to bubble. You want about twenty seven times a quarterback sooner or later, even if you wanted ten you going to get hurt, you know, what it is against the Jeff Fisher syndrome when a coach gets in survival mode. They throw game plan and strategy and conventional football out the window. What can I do the survivor John Harbaugh? Jeff Fisher late in his Tennessee. And he's just interval mobile and he will one Lamar Jackson until the wheels fall off. And this week against Kansas City. She's is the perfect time to load him up and just run into the wheels. Wollongong thing to think that the chiefs defense is not going to somehow have a game plan to say a look first week. We thought maybe they won't do the second third. For now. We know we note he is running the ball. He is running option. He is not trying to really throw the ball. And that's why like if you just I mean, you can put simple game plans together. Just by spreading guys out. Just take those guys out the box and still run the same type of plays. But they're not even doing that. They literally getting in twenty two personnel with two to to tidy backs and trying to run the ball. And I just don't see how long term it can work. But it's worked those three games. But you have to look at those opponents and is not developing him. I I I want to respond to the Vince young. Now, you see it analogy between Vince young Lamar Jax. I don't because Vince at least I felt like was trying to throw the ball several several times when he dropped back. All right. If the first reason, and I'm cool with Lamar doing that. But give the kid a chance. Like, I read a quote Lamar Jackson said in this week's press conference. Yeah, we got to throw the ball little bit. We gotta do. And when I heard. Him say that I kind of dean some kind of went off in my head. Like, he probably does not want to play the way they've been playing. He wants to drop back and throw the ball. And so by saying, yeah, we gotta get the bottom these receive his hands. He's making a little slack comment. Like, look guys. Yeah. We went we went three games, but we can't continue to do this..
