Kendrick Perkins Says Racial Bias Plays Role in NBA MVP Voting

"Kendrick Perkins. What's this guy's deal? I'm not familiar with him terribly much. He was a subpar NBA player and he's above average broadcaster, but he does, this is not abnormal for him to do. And he is not white. That is correct. All right, so take a listen, cut forward to this guy's very upset because a white guy may be in the running here. Got 14. JJ, I need to know. Is the uchu Wally or is it one mic? I need to know when it comes down to the criteria moving the gold post for the MVPs because I understand you and the analytics. I understand you are a story you know the game of basketball, but I went and did a little research myself and since 1990 has only been three MVPs. That wasn't top ten in scoring that one letter ward. The whisky, Steve Nash, and yogurts. Now with all, what do they have in common? I let it sit there and marinate. I'm just trying to see, you know what I'm saying? When I walk into the club, do I need my J zone or is it a dress code? Do I need to put another, you know, a church shoes or some red bottoms or I need a note. Is it uchu Wally or is it one might? Like, what's the criteria when moving the gold post for certain players to win the MVP? I need to know. Because it seemed about the gold post move every single time where we want to push it out there, this particular pill that we want to win every piece 'cause we all know in 2006 when Kobe was averaging 31 when the Lakers were the 7 seed and the roster that he had compared to Steve Nash and Steve Nash won his second consecutive MVP in 2006, was he really supposed to win that? Was he really supposed to outdo COVID that year? I'm just trying to figure it out, bro, I'm trying to get on understanding what's the criteria why the goal posts move for certain players is the utility or is it one might carry on? So this is

"They want to get an all star back and you know I know it's unique because some Laker fans will look and say, do you really want Kyrie on your team? But I do think Kyrie gives you the most upside. Miles Turner and buddy hill might be a great fit, but let's not let's not think those two players have the upside or the ceiling of a Kyrie Irving on the Lakers because I think that Kyrie obviously has more of an upside. Now that could work against the Lakers and maybe he's not a great fit and maybe he's not a great teammate, but I do think that it seems like that's the priority and anything else you could find some role players you could find some good fit. You might have to give up draft compensation, but that seems secondary. If anybody knows that sometimes adding a third star does it work, it's the Lakers. But I think Kyrie Irving is a much more natural, much better on court fits, stylistically than Russell Westbrook. So I'm fully in agreement with this strategy of, look, you probably don't do unless you've got an absolute steal. You don't pull the trigger on anything unless you know for sure that Kyrie's not coming. As long as that's a possibility out there, we've got a lot of time until training camp starts up. I think that you wait on the Kyrie Irving situation, but Alan, what about the rest? We've heard about these different possibilities. Utah, I think, is interesting. There's a lot of different players that are making between that ten to $15 million range. There will be classified as veteran players that in theory don't fit into a rebuild, which if they trade Donovan Mitchell, Utah will be heading into. So maybe there's some options there. There's New York. We've heard about stuff around Julius Randle. Of course, the buddy healed miles Turner stuff with the pacers disperse have been mentioned is maybe a third team to get in to a Kyrie Irving trade, maybe using pieces like Josh Richardson, Doug McDermott. Maybe the Lakers can do a direct trade with them. Out of all of those other options, what's at the top of your list. So if I reach number one, what's number two in terms of your preference for the Lakers. So I have some intrigue.

"Not going to be just the two of us tonight, Sean. Do we got to see here? We got the optimist. Matthew optimus Peralta. Let's go. Did you already tell the story about how he texted each other simultaneously? Yes. I did. I didn't tell our audience here. Matt, why don't you share that story while I send out a retweet here? Yes, so Trevor and I were being degenerates and talking about other things and as soon as it was clear the Celtics were going to lose, I texted Trevor verbatim, can we go live so I can laugh? And at the same time, Trevor goes, should we go live when this ends? So this in pumped two stream is a courtesy of that conversation. It was, it was a little bit eerie, like as I was typing out my message on my computer. And as I was like, my finger was over the return but to send the message to you when it pops up. Should we go live and I went? That's too good. And no, it's just a sign. Come on, man. Darvin hams are a head coach and the Celtics lose. I love these last couple of weeks here. This is awesome. Yeah, right. Everything coming up Lakers in the last few weeks, I guess. I mean, I look at it this way. Finally, mercifully, the worst season in Lakers history is over. And it did not end in the worst way possible, and that would have been with the Celtics victory. So we've got that at least. And I know that's not necessarily reason to go crazy celebrating the Lakers still had a terrible season, but there's certainly relief. And now we can turn to the off season, right? So I mean, I think that's reason enough to go live here and chat with Lakers nation. By the way, we weren't rooting for the warriors. We were rooting against the Celtics. So it could have been the Star Wars team. We would have been rooting against the Celtics. It doesn't matter who it is. I tweeted out. I was like, I hope this is the last night I have to root for the warriors. So thank God. Oh, finally. It's over. Season is over. Now we can look ahead to the off season. It's fantastic. I've got a lot of people saying things in the chat. Carroll zorba from Facebook said, happy for curry. I'll just say he deserves it. Yeah, so curry got the series MVP. Totally deserved. Totally. I mean, 100%. He deserved that that series MVP. And if people were for whatever reason people were holding that over him that he hadn't got that deserving of this one, for sure, gets the victory, big moment, absolutely for him, got to be happy for curry and what he did. Future Laker Gary Payton the second should have won it though, but. Or future Laker auto Porter junior, according to a lot of the comments. We'll take that one too. What do you think about that, Matt? I've got auto Porter junior at the top of my list for free agency in terms of obviously there's better players out there. But in terms of potentially gettable players, is he the top of your list too in free agency? I mean, yeah, if we're talking about potential targets, I think he has to be at the top or near the top. It's just for me, I'm not really sure if he's really smart. He has a realistic option for the Lakers because.

"The 5 on four break, it's a problem, but it's not a unique problem to the Lakers. That's something you see around the NBA. Yeah. And I know Trevor, you've been very upset about it very vocal about your frustration with that this season. And again, the schedule is only going to get tougher. I think they only have 6 home games left the rest of the season. A lot of these games out of the stretch you have a big road trip coming up. Minnesota, Toronto, Washington Cleveland, and then you come back home for a game and they have three top ones on the road. So again, the schedule is all you're going to get topper. In the Lakers and what should be an easy win on the road, it gets a bad rockets team. I mean, what makes you think they're going to get up for, I mean, they've already shown they don't get up or Oklahoma City, let alone New Orleans. So it's aggravating, man. John Robertson Dallas said it's hard for a Lakers fan that you'd still watch every Laker game this season even with an atrocious season. Yeah, look, hey, you're a real one. If you're still watching right now, you're real one. I know some of the people in the chat didn't really watch the game, just kind of had it all in while they were doing other stuff. Understand, but man, it's not easy getting through some of these games. That's for sure. Matty James said, Trevor and Sean, any off season free agents that would be a good fit for next season or players you'd want to re sign once Russ is gone. Malik monk is a guy that I would love to see the Lakers resign Eric pink is over at bleacher report did a piece about this about that would be one of and we've spoken about this here as well. One of the potential pros of waving and stretching Russell Westbrook is now you're probably looking at bringing back Malik monk because now you can get into the mix with a full mid level exception offer. Now overall, I don't think stretching process is a good idea. I think it's probably not the correct path to go down, but that's the silver lining to doing that. That's the positive is if you do that, you can probably put yourself in the mix to hang on to a guy like Malik monk. Maybe you don't need to go there. Maybe you find out through whatever channels you need to that he'll play for the mini mid level exception, the taxpayer mid level. That's possible too. But that's kind of the silver lining. Other free agents that are out there, the free agent market is not very deep this year, and there's also not a lot of cap space. And those two things are connected. There's not a lot of cap space because teams spent their cap space because they saw there's not a lot of players out there on the free agent market this year. So it's going to be pretty competitive going after free agents. I don't know there's going to be a ton of different difference makers. I do think that's going to create to have very trade heavy NBA off season because teams are going to see they can't get the pieces they want on the market. So instead they're going to try to trade. But in any event, we've got plenty of time to get into the off season stuff. I haven't looked at every single free agent out there..

You wish it was the form. But the fans were right there, man. They're still alive, they're still energy, Laker nation is still alive. And you know what, as bad as they're playing. And I thought they played extremely well the other night. I just think that they are really so bad. They don't understand how to win the tight games anymore. I really do think that's their problem now. And until they accept settle that and get back, which is going to have to have to happen in practice, can't do too much practice at the end of the season, so you got to worry about load management and these guys legs. They will start winning. I do believe they'll win. But the fact that the fans were still there and still supportive and still into the Lakers and I would have the microphone and I'm trying to rouse them up and get them up and you know they were intense. So I really don't think it's too bad of a day for the Lakers. I just think there's just one win away from jumpstarting this. Were you hyping the crowd up at LA live before the Lakers and magic game? They had you as a DJ. The MC. They had a place where they were shooting hoops. And they had a guy that was out there in the mic guide was talking about they had to make like ten or 12 points to get a Laker of jacket or every ticket to another game..

"Good to see you again, my brother. What's up, man? How you doing? Good, man. So quick question for you. I got a couple here for all you guys. What? From everything that you're seeing now, how much of a surprise is this comparative to the roster construction we all saw in July August? But I didn't think he was going to be this bad. I knew it was going to be bad. But I thought they'd be hanging around maybe four or 5 games above 500 rather than below it. And they would have some hope for, you know, maybe getting to the second round of the playoffs, but now it's just like, who knows what's going to happen? I mean, I see you could easily say they're going to get bounced in the plan or they're going to get crushed in the first roll. Trevor? Yeah, I so Ron and I were both actually live when the Westbrook trade went down. We were in the middle of recording. We were talking about buddy heel to the Lakers. When the Westbrook thing happened. And our initial gut reaction was, oh, this could be really good or this could be really bad. This is a big risk. We don't like the fit. There's concerns about how you fill out the roster and the rest of the way. So I think that we've gone down the path that was our kind of our worst nightmare in terms of what this is going to look like. I agree. And this came out from a Laker staffer as well. I don't remember what piece it was in, but it was about a week or so ago, where a Laker staffer said, you know, I wasn't on board with the Westbrook thing, but I didn't think it was going to be this bad. I think I agree with that..

"Statement that every Laker fan always speaks on is that if I have LeBron and AD in a 7 game series, I like my chances, right? So I mean, it's just continuous and we're just here for the ride where I personally am on it. It's the round two of the LeBron Russ conundrum and we'll see how that kind of goes if LeBron is able to come out of this mess and get us to maybe a second round or a Conference Finals, you know, that would be a tremendous feat. So I mean, we're going to keep watching. Again, we have Kendrick nunn, you know, close to returning as he's been for the last 6 months. So it's a lot to take in. And that's the most in December. You and me both, you and me both. My favorite headline of this entire season is Frank Vogel hopeful that Kendrick nunn will be good to go on opening day. Frank Vogel. So Shelby, I think you had some good comments there. And I guess my question is, let's say LeBron and AD are healthy. I think there's no question they're in the play and tournament, just that's what math says..

"This was that low. Yeah, 13 minutes and Bradley got 36. So throwing them right back in after, I think we were just talking about how Bradley was looking at like 13 to 16 minutes and then Frank wolk was like, okay, you're starting again bet here. Here's 36 minutes for you. Always winning said, a D and THT plus the 2027 pick for Tatum rebuild around Tatum. I think at some point, Jayson Tatum needs to be a Laker grew up idolizing Kobe, grew up a Lakers fan, all of that. But, but I don't see the Lakers making that trade right now. That's not what's gonna happen. Danny said palinka is a criminal for this team. Again, I think if you're putting the blame in any one place, that's probably not correct. It's a lot of things. It's not just rob, it's not just LeBron or brows or whatever. It's a lot of things. Let's see what else we've got here. Obviously, a lot of people are not happy. NPM two. Rightfully so. Yeah. Said AD again, low energy, even not getting ten rebounds. This is not this loss is not on him alone, but last two games same AD, we can't defend 80 at the 5 doesn't work..

"Merry Christmas, first and foremost, although the Lakers did not give us the Christmas present that we were hoping for a comeback effort against the Brooklyn Nets, falls short, joining me to help break it down. Chris the masterpiece masters welcome back man. And Merry Christmas, dude. Yeah, Merry Christmas, Trevor. I believe it or not, I'm actually really excited to be on despite the finish. That was a tough game, but honestly, Trevor, I know we're going to yeah a lot to talk about. It's been a while and again, Merry Christmas, but it's been a difficult season as I'm sure every Laker nation or Lakers fan can attest to. I mean, this has been crazy, it's been hard to even look forward to games. And I just, I got a lot of dancing to do throughout the show and I don't want to do it all here. So yeah, anyways, good to be back on. Difficult game. Well, this is certainly the place for. This is where people come to vent a little bit after a tough loss. This is now 5 losses in a row for the Lakers. This looked bad for a long stretch, and then the Lakers gave us hope we thought, oh, they're really going to come back and they're going to do this. Oh, no, no, they're not. They're not. They tied it up at one point late in the fourth quarter, but then the nets went on another little run and the Lakers could not answer and they wind up coming up short in the end. Let me go through some of the stats before we dive into this game and get into some of the venting. But we've got for the Lakers 39 points for LeBron 9 board 7 assist three steals one block 14 to 25 shooting and played 40 minutes. 40 minutes and they could not get the job done and a lot of that. I mean, I hate to say it but Russell Westbrook four for 20 shooting, including the mist dunk at the end that ultimately sealed their fate four for 20 shooting from Ross 12 boards 11 to 6, so he got the triple double 13 points for him on the night but not an efficient performance at all the turnovers he kept down only three turnovers, but my goodness four for 20. That's not getting it done THT 5 for 11 from the field 14 points. 17 for Carmelo Anthony to go along with 11 boards for assist two steals three blocks, saw the night for him, but shooting the ball not great 6 for 15, Malik monk returned. "Dot com. are back talking about the Lake show because why not? Raja, Anthony Davis, a sprained and MCL, I see your face right now through the zoom. I don't know which clip they are going to use on the Twitter, but we might need to show me everybody. Make sure you guys get that face you just made. We're going to meet that. We're going to get all that figured out. Screenshot do what you got to do play it. But. He's out four weakest Rogers. As if the Lakers season couldn't get any worse. They were treading water throughout the entire season. And I know I'm gonna get Laker fans of my men she's talking about will what you ever be watching every game Malik monk has been balling like, dude, you know, I love liquor. But that's not the point right now, dude, okay? It's Anthony Davis. Who was we talked about him last week? What are the ramifications of this bra? I think it's, you might just need to just I don't know, man. Do I need to tell you again? Do you want me to say it again? Hold on hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, I'm walking through this. I'm working through this right now. Hold on. Part of me just says we just need to this season as cars. You just need to just wrap it on up. Let's just see what the young guys are doing. Let THC get 25 shots of game. You know, let's just shut it down. It's over. We got legacies on the line, so that's not going to happen. Raja, Rossi, look at me in the face right now, dude. What talk me through this, my guy? What is going to happen? What's going on? How is this what's going on, my guy? I don't know. I don't know what's up. What's up? You guys are. You've effectively, or you will have effectively at the end of this season. Wasted one of the few years that LeBron is capable of carrying your team to a championship. That's what will happen. And I feel awful for Anthony Davis. I feel awful. That's an unavoidable injury. Like, that's not someone who's injury prone or anything like that. Although he is injury prone, but you're not avoiding that. You got rolled into. Like that shit happens. It's a terrible, terrible blow for the Lakers. Just trying to get healthy and we talk, right? About that 20 game window. And, you know, you know, those 20 games painting that clear picture unless someone was hurt. And then you maybe give them another ten games to kind of figure it out. But man, you're starting to get late in the season to develop that chemistry and stuff like that. But here we are. We're starting to do it. And all I hear is man Lakers are looking all right. We're playing all right. And here I go talking about Yana beating a localist like Mavs team. So check this out. Check this out. Check this out. Check this out, son. Check this out. I'm gonna keep it real, real son. Yo, ever since the Lakers balloons are they last I check went foreign two. So ha, no, but what I'm saying is, like, I'm so you're making my point. You're helping me at my point. So boom, we got healthy, and that's what we're going to do, right? So now maybe some hopes and silver lining. Well, you miss a piece like AD for four more weeks..

"Now Raja, I'm prepared for the thunder in The Rain and all and everything going right now when I actually this question. 20 something games in. Time to have the Russell Westbrook conversation with you my friend. What have you been your impressions? What have you thought? And what's going on, man, 'cause I can't. I love Russ, but there's some things that there's some critiques. I don't know if there's going to be slander because I can't say that word around you. But what if you thought the Russell Westbrook so far throughout this through the onset of the season? Okay. What I would say to you is because he's in a Laker uniform, we're combing it with a finer tooth comb. He's doing essentially what he does. Let me give you the numbers, all right? Just so we're clear, it's 28 and 9. Like that's what Russ is doing with less ball in his hands than he's had in places before. Mike hit the nail on the head. Every single place he goes, this happens. They come out of the gates. It doesn't look pretty, he's a unique style of play. You know, his energy is never in question. His heart in terms of wanting to win a game is never in question, but it is unique, right? And so they struggle. They stumble. But eventually, winners win, and he's going to help you win. You just got to figure it out. Sure, it's looked ugly at times. I'll be the first to admit that, dude, I've watched games, but what I'll say to that again is like I watch more Lakers games than I was watching Washington games last year, right? And so he's got ugly games all the time. And so I'm not really putting this on rust. I don't think it's the most natural fit. I do believe that use the right way and Mike was perfectly correct in what he said about the last 5 minutes of the game. Rush, you have to understand that while you're here, like this isn't yours in the last 5 minutes, there may be times where LeBron looks at you and says now go and you gotta be ready to go. But if he doesn't do that, you play your position. Like he's got to be able to do that, but I don't have a beef with Russ. He's older. He doesn't defend the way he defended before. That's part of the problem. What scares me with the Golden State and the Phoenix is is they move so much and there's so much energy and so much force and deliberateness with their offense that if the Lakers can't find some young fresh legs to really supplement those older vets, I usually agree that LeBron and AD are enough, but it scares me. But I don't have a beef with Ross and I'm sorry if anybody wanted me to come on here and if you're disappointed that I won't slam to rust, you should know me by now. But I won't. It's not perfect, but he's doing what he does. It's funny because when I see Russ, we still got to understand the dude is played on three teams in three different years. He hasn't had a second year with a team to where he can find cohesion with the roster. And I'm giving, you know, and I've been frustrated with ruts, but also I watched it. Let me ask you a question. This is better. This can be better for the audience. I didn't give you anything. But what is frustrating for Laker fans about Russ? That's what I'd like to hear. And if you're all be valid, I mean, I'm not going to, what's frustrating you? The biggest thing that just frustrates me, it's the same thing that's always frustrated me about Russ is that he can't get out of his own way. It's like he feels like he has to shoot his way out of situations. He has to he has to and it's funny because I got a bit more context of kind of how he maneuvers and the way he goes about life in general. And I watched his showtime documentary. I was in LA, LA, about a month or so ago and got to get out of the honor to go to his to his premiere for his showtime. Gotham Chopra directed that. And I got to see, he's been doubted for so long in his life that he takes every single possession as an offense to every single person that's doubted him, right? And I feel like sometimes Russ bro just passed the ball. Your shot is broke today. It's okay, you're one of the great passer, you're a great rebounder, all these things. You can affect the game in other ways. You don't have to take everything on the chin. I think that's what frustrates me the most Raja. Oh, so I hear that. And it's with love, though. It's no I know of his game. That's not even I don't hate Russ. I just think that he can make better decisions as well as what frustrates me. And I think like, you know, if you were building the perfect basketball player that didn't have a flaw in his game, we'd be in Alice in Wonderland type shit. Everybody has a flaw in their game, man. Russ, I just want to be clear, you know, his field goal percentage right now is like fourth highest in his career. His shot attempts are down. Like third lowest in his or fourth lowest in his career. Like he's doing essentially what he does. And I'm watching those games and I'm seeing him down the stretch. Like, yes, he's going to shoot because he feels like he's a really good player and he's averaging 20 a game, but he's going to shoot his numbers like he's going to shoot what he's always shot. And he does, was it the pacer game I watched him like distribute at the end of the game and get AD EZ buckets and drive the paint collapsing and like he's just doing what he does. So for those Laker fans that are frustrated, like you were going to you're just you just don't know his game that was what he does now. I want to I want to ask you this question. And I love Ross. I really love Russ and everything that he does. And I made the argument and I want to hear your opinion on this. That they got Russ because he is a guy that has he's a veteran and has been in the postseason he has done these things he can integrate into a veteran a veteran team. More than the other guys at the Lakers can trade for how much of the Lakers banking on that with this, right? Where they do have a guy like Russ who has seen, you know, he might not have been successful and some postseason games, but he's been in the postseason. He is a veteran he knows what it's like in a different game. How much were the Lakers banking on that and how much are they banking on that now?.

"What size are you getting? And what density are you getting? Let's talk sustainability next. As I said, the clay for the Laker is strip mind and it goes into a very, very high temperature kiln, which is sometimes coal powered. So I guess you don't need to be told that that means that in terms of carbon footprint, it's not brilliant. I haven't ever seen a breakdown a proper breakdown of the sustainability grading of a soil or a pain free soil versus Laker. I would love to see one, but that's not something I've got available. I guess where Laker does have a tick is that it can be reused over and over again. So hopefully if you buy a bag of Laker, it will last you a jolly long time. I have only just bought another bag. The first bag that I had, which is kind of a standard compost sack size. Has lasted me about 8 years. And I reuse it over and over again. When bits get accidentally put into the compost heap, I literally pick them out because it's stuff that I want to keep hold of. So I have only just bought another bag which I haven't yet opened. So it does last a really long time. So that's worth bearing in mind. If anyone does find a sustainability grading for different house plant substrates, I would absolutely love to see it. The great thing about Laker is it doesn't degrade easily..

"Defensively, we could be in some big trouble on Christmas Day if the Lakers continue playing this way because the nets are just so good on that end of the floor. They're getting, they started off a little rough, but they're getting better there. They're very precise on offense and Kevin Durant, obviously he's just an assassin. And so the Lakers could be in some trouble on that end of the floor. That's where I'd be concerned. But we have a long way to go. We got a month to go a lot can happen between now and then. So let's see where we go from there. We do need to get into the 360 award for tonight. And obviously no Anthony Davis, so the three out just LeBron James and Russell Westbrook and this is easy. You guys already know where it's going. It's going to LeBron. James, again, 39 points fantastic stuff from him. 5 threes on the night, 5 board 6 assists one steel two blocks. It was a, I don't want to say it was a vintage LeBron performance because there were moments where LeBron looked very mortal. Where he just didn't quite look like himself. But then when it was time to win, there he was. Hitting big shots. They were fade away threes. And this is something that we noticed really starting last season, maybe even a little bit of season before. LeBron, he will go switch hunting. And by that, I mean, he will pick which defender he wants to cover him and then have that Laker comes at a screen so that that player will get switched on to him. He's done this for a while now. If you remember a couple seasons ago, he bullied the hell out of Lou Williams on the clippers at the time that way. Switch hunted him just into oblivion, got him switched on to LeBron constantly and then just annihilated him. But LeBron gets big, switched on to him. How often does he attack off of that? Just about never, right?.

"So Avery Bradley was the only Laker who is healthy to not play LeBron James, Wayne Ellington, both not only technically Wayne Ellington was available to play, but Frank Vogel said unless it was a complete emergency. He wasn't putting a man. He still recovering from that hamstring strain. So the only truly healthy Laker to not play in this game, Avery Bradley, and this was a game where I thought the Lakers could have used some defensive help. So what gives? Matt, why do you think Avery Bradley was not part of the rotation tonight? Well, I don't know if you saw this flying around or floating around on the Twitter side, Trevor, but Avery Bradley actually put up no counting stats the last time you played with 20 plus minutes. That's hard to do. That's hard to do. It's like you're just getting cardio. Just getting your steps in for that day. But no, seriously, though, I think Frank looked at this game and said, you know, Austin Reeves, who I'm sure we'll also talk about was having a solid two way game for the most part. I thought he began was another spark, played a lot of minutes tonight. How many minutes he played? He played 30 minutes on the night tonight, Trevor. Quite a bump since the first game, right? And then also Malik monk just had it going. I thought he was really good connective tissue offensively as far as scoring from outside, PNR, you know, we have not given Malik monk enough praise for how he's handled the playmaking duty as a secondary ball handler. I thought he was fantastic tonight. He thought it was a really mean pocket pass and it made sure to tweet that out because I thought it was really impressive. Didn't always end up with an assist, but I think that having playmaking chops on a night where you're missing LeBron James is very important. So I think you know those two Reeves and monk proved that they deserve the lion's share of the minute. I did think there was some instances where we could have used Bradley, especially over rondo. The Westbrook and Rajon Rondo pairing was not my favorite of the night. If I had a critique Vogel tonight, that was definitely one of them where to me, it's a spacing issue. It's a defensive issue. So if you know if you're going to have two non shooting guards out there, I would at least prefer one of them to be a defensive minded one. So in that case, I could have definitely seen Avery Bradley as far playing over rondo in those kinds of minutes. But, you know, to tell you the truth, I really just think that Vogel wanted to make sure that the spacing was pristine for Russell Westbrook down the stretch. And I do think that reef showed enough playmaking and shooting to warrant those minutes over him..

And he's like, you know, it's a brother that we thoroughly sorely missed. But the things that he did, he and Shaq did, man, set the Lakers on the path to learn great things themselves. We were the first Laker team to repeat. They were the first Laker team to three P and you know what, that's a fix that will never be big challenge or equal. "They talk about the Clippers beat the Lakers last year them guys folded like a cheap suit, but if you want me to recommend I don't do that for you and make you feel good because you are you know, after you have a man. I just wanna know you got to where you got the mad. This is the standings right. Now the way they are are the Clippers are at second the sun's Phoenix Suns and that's the Dark Horse there. But again Chris Paul, I got some good things in I could do anything you charge as the maths with Lucan porzingis name could do anything either let you slow Portland now that seems surprised because Portland is sitting at number six, New Jersey. Where they should be at a two or three position? Yeah Denver that's another shocker. But again, you know what difference always been that team over the years with Alex English and Calvin at and and fat leaves or a very running team, but they were as up and down as this team here and then you have the Spurs who you know that they're lucky to be in a spot cuz they're a terrible team but you know what they got some young Talent they got some kids that can play and the Spurs are going to be a good team in the future. So I guess final for me on the Lakers. My thought would be it's so early in the season change, you know, I mean, it's so tough to tell LeBron ramps it up and you know, I mean, there's no reason for him to be playing at any, you know any time anything full at full capacity now that he's you know, he's really old as old as he is LeBron, but is your amp down and and this seems to be way different and better by the time the playoffs come around but how do you where does this team Stack Up Now against the team that won a championship was like, you know a few weeks ago. I think they're better. They're better than last year's. They have more potential coming off the bench cuz you're worried about losing Dwight Howard in Javale McGee and what that would do, you know for for the style which they play where they play big. I mean, how do you do? What do you think about the roster the way it looks now compared to what it looked like, I think it's something Jerry West used to say when you win a championship. You can't stand Pat because other teams around you're getting better. So yeah make moves. Is it 1 month or two mood? Jerry always made one Dynamic move for us and then he would come in with another movie has to change things up. Okay took a disgruntled player or somebody that wouldn't go to work hard and brought in a young teenager potential in this case here Rob gini and Linda rambus brought in a slew of players. They brought in for good players. So the Lakers bench is as as as deep as anybody else up until the Brooklyn made the trade Brooklyn had a very good bench back there, but now with the trade and obviously the injury to did then didn't witty then Whittle. Yeah doing dog. That really have taken them off but the Lakers now have a bench and it gives coach Volvo options to play with now he doesn't counter with other teams do he does it first and make them counter to him and that's what I like about this Laker team..

That was that was incredible to see how under control LeBron was like cool and calm like, you know what I was planning on doing this all along. No problem. I'm just going to hit you with a bunch of fourth quarter points and win this game. It's amazing. It's amazing the way he can just switch for just as long as he needs to and then kind of back off again and preserve himself for the next game. And I think Laker fans have kind of learned that for the most part cuz I saw a lot of people in our chat in the flick shot and they were talking about you know, and it's exactly what happened in like as soon as LeBron turns up the aggressiveness this game is over. So, you know in Lebron, it just seems to me like LeBron and not even just LeBron but a d are actually again or just kind of even in games like this just kind of pacing themselves and and really kind of turning it on when it matters, you know, in terms of being aggressive and you know, I'm fine with that. You know, I mean, this is still going to be a long season and we need to you know, look at the big picture here and you know, it just means you know, sometimes you're going to kind of toast until you it's absolute winning time and you know, these guys have the ability to turn it on off time to win the game, you know, sometimes that doesn't happen to the fourth quarter, but you know, they got it done tonight. How about that shot yet that shot from the from the claw. The grizzly and half-court. He's like in the claw the power or whatever it is. Right and he just steps up and drains it. You know, it's like a 40-foot shot and just boom I mean amazing amazing stuff. And that's the those are just backbreakers. Like if you're the Grizzlies all along the game. The Lakers are just kind of stringing him along stringing him along the Grizzlies Argo know we might really have a chance. We might really have a.
