If You Don't Denounce, You Approve
"You don't denounce must mean you improve when there isn't something being said anytime anyone any place after something that spat going on and you have the opportunity to denouncing head on be able to condemn it and then when you choose not to do so you only get help but wonder what are the true motives of a already. I'm gonna happen saying continuously when talking about the gop in what's going on their side and something that is if i always say this is not something of me being a democrat attacking republicans. Don't associate myself or identify myself will be in either but the fact of the matter did you have to call out. What is the truth. You have to call out what it is that you've seen and i've always said the democratic party may not be a perfect party by no means at the same time at least there a party that doesn't show the type of acceptance of hate speech and and and races in wide supremacy and white nationalist. At least you see that not happening on one side of the aisle but you see it happening another where you have to really question. The motives of what their party really is about to their core. Because it's been amazing to me too. Still after weeks two or three weeks on how long congress has been in session we have well the republicans have a certain congressman by the name of marci taylor grain cheese congresswoman out of georgia and someone who's accused non conspiracy theories somebody who has literally attacked in agitated or Mocked survivors of mass school shootings. Okay, exactly an unexploded bomb but live missile alive missile could be better or worse than an unexploded Bob depending on you know what they mean by live missile. Now, this story that we saw kind of goes out of its way to say it serious but not crazy dangerous. and. Right. So who would a jeb you? This story is yeah. First of all, this is from the Tampa Bay. Times. On August seventeen and There's in addition to, of course, Sunan Fund our other businesses and and concerns at Lakeland Linder Airport in where Senate, funding occurs each used to occur each year. So one of the businesses at that airport is a defense contractor. and. This defense contractor discovered invented had taken delivery of what is being called a live missile. Basically the quote from the company says in the process evaluating shipments to drake. International, Lakeland facility our team discovered an object with questionable markings. There's a quest, there's upset title for you. Indicated getting maybe explosive adhering to the explosive safety rule of exposing the minimum number of people for the minimum amount of time to potential explosive has it. We got the hell out. No, that's not what it says. It says we made the decision to evacuate the facility, inform our surrounding tenants and contact the appropriate authorities soon as possible. Apparently. This was a missile with an unexploded were alive warhead. It's unclear whether it was. You know solid fuel and ready to ready to be fired. There's all kinds of other questions that could be asked here there's a picture. Of. Understand what that picture is go ahead swept for there's a picture of some men wearing army fatigues, air force for something like that wrestling with this thing, it's about. the size of a small car or maybe a medium size car about that length, and it looks like could be about a meter in diameter. It's on cradle with with cash string wheels, and all this they're trying to me and handle it on the back of this flatbed truck Very interesting. So all kinds of things going on. At lakeland airport when it's not so infantile. Now, a couple of questions here first of all this jurors, what's the? It's Drake Drake Aka a K., and international. And where on the airport grounds is this located relative to the you know the the article the second graph of the article says that they evacuated the whole southeast side of the airport. doper chopper town. So. Many questions here. One would think if they were if anybody at draken was expecting alive munition to arrive keep going. They have been watching for it. You Know Sky Order I order A. Box of breakfast cereal from Amazon I put it on my calendar and I got reminders and. I know it's coming right Caution these rice krispies may exploded anytime snap crackle pop man but. So. How is so kind of the question whether or not did they get sent? This was this just sort of a special gift from some friend of drinking I suspect that they bought some surplus. Hardware. Okay from a vendor from maybe a directly from a foreign military. and. This was in the Tim. Yeah. Okay I guess.
Farmers are Swimming in Milk, but Can't Get it to Needy Food Banks
"Spilled milk. It has a whole new meaning. These days with restaurants schools and universities closed. Dairy farmers are swimming in millions of gallons of milk. They can no longer sell at the same time. Millions more Americans are hungry. Food banks across the country are seeing dramatic. Spikes in demand is unemployment swells. But they don't have enough food one of the products in short supply. You got it milk. Here's what the mismatch looks like spring the time of year when cows produce the most milk so they have more milk than usual and much less access to their regular customers and even though farmers are donating some milk food banks according to the New York Times they're still dumping about one and a half million gallons daily that's because farmers have been limited in their ability to give away enough milk to prevent the enormous waste time set but couldn't they just give away more milk. The short answer is no and the reason is two pronged for one. Food Banks. Don't have enough refrigerators or volunteers to handle too much milk at once. The other reason is that the cost of transporting and distributing milk is just too high for many farmers produce. Growers and cattle ranchers are having similar problems according to the New York Times not since the Great Depression has so much fresh food been destroyed but these are just the latest struggles facing the dairy industry as we reported in previous episodes. Dairy farmers were in trouble before Kobe. Nineteen in part because Americans. Just don't love cow's milk like we used to instead. We're increasingly turning to alternatives. Soy Almond Banana. Milk are changing. Tastes have real consequences. Just last November. The country's largest dairy supplier dean foods filed for bankruptcy now revenues. A fallen by half again for many dairy farmers. It's a distressing break in the supply chain farmers who can't sell enough milk are suffering and so are millions of people who don't have enough to eat. According to the nation's largest chain of food banks feeding America in normal times about thirty seven million Americans are considered to be food insecure. Now another seventeen million people recently unemployed also need help to avoid hunger at least eleven million of the hungrier children. According to the nonprofit it took several weeks but at least two big grocers are stepping in to help fix the supply chain mismatch last month. Publics began buying excess produce in milk and donating it to feeding America in. Its first two weeks. Public says it purchased and donated one hundred thousand gallons of milk and a million pounds of produce. The LAKELAND Florida grocery chain plans to continue the initiative released several weeks. According to CBS News public efforts are regional so far. The grocer is buying milk from dairy farmers. In the southeast and vegetables from Florida Growers Public's also donated two million dollars to feeding America. According to a statement Kroger America's largest grocery chain soon followed suit. On April Thirtieth Kroger said it would purchase two hundred thousand gallons of surplus milk and donate to feeding America and community food banks. Some might say both grocers can well afford to help in a normal year. Kroger's revenues are well above one hundred billion dollars with everyone. At Home Kroger's sales have surged. Revenues grew thirty percent in March. According to the Texas Observer Kroger's stock is currently close to its fifty two week high public to has been doing well with twenty nineteen sales of thirty eight billion dollars. The company says it sales grew this quarter by about sixteen percent over the same period a year ago with about two thirds of those sales due to all the home cooking. Americans are doing right now. The scale of America's milk problem for both farmers and the unemployed is so massive that the efforts to businesses alone are far from enough. That's something the federal government recently recognized. The Department of Agriculture will begin spending three hundred million dollars a month to buy surplus milk produce and meat from distributors and ship it to food banks. According to The New York Times some states to are getting in on the action for example New York is trying to help its own farmers deal with its huge pools of excess milk. It plans to give food banks twenty five million dollars to purchase products made from the milk. It's also working with food processors like Shabani Hood and Cabot to help them. Turn that milk into yogurt. Cheese and butter. The newspaper reported the fact that Kroger and Publix are redistributing surplus milk to food. Banks may be laudable but the quantities of no faith committed to purchase now to a drop in the bucket victims white question now is whether other businesses step up to help farmers and the hungry

more than fifty thousand followers salivate photos of her breads pastries savory breakfast sandwiches and more many aboard and breads recipes use local honey as she explained Suzanne producer Delete Cologne I love bread I feel like it's my favorite food group yeah do you feel like bread gets the respect it deserves I mean it's free in a basket on a restaurant table you know I think that's difficult I think it's education is so important as we think about the way that food culture should should or could change in the United States compared to what you see maybe in other countries and so when I think about bread the same it is the most shared food in any culture every single culture has bread and something that is unique to them what I find Africa's growing up on a wonder bread or what isn't any basket at a restaurant or most restaurants anyway has kind of steered us away from appreciating not only the art but the benefits of the health that bread could give us so taking bread like what we have solely fermented it's fully reliant on what I call the mother also eleven it's our culture it's only fed off of the Houston natural environment that is here in our bakery or in the air and the humidity the same way that you can find us on grapes or fruit or a survives in grains as well and so we try to take an strip down what they think bread is two three ingredients and how do I do this with three ingredients I just take flour water and salt create a culture from the flour and water and slowly from our dough and it takes to make our so like thirty something hours in total from mix and creating the the mother for that specific bread and so this creates almost like what yogurt beneficial to our gut with having that bacteria and era it does the same thing with sour dough bread it slows down it has bacteria it breaks gluten which has got such a bad name these days but it's a beautiful thing when used properly it allows you to enjoy bread and your body to enjoy bread better so you don't leave after having maybe the type of bread that we're making feeling oh my gosh I just can't eat another thing I don't know why feel really right really good points and I love the idea of not needing a nap after you enjoy some bread you're right every culture has bread I mean last night my kids were asking me for non mm for dinner which is so it's so accessible to eat because it's familiar it's bread it's doughy but at the same time when we think about baking bread that and feel really intimidating so why is that what are we what are we doing wrong I think having a culture of society where everything is readily available bull is maybe the first part of how do we simplify life again how do I make time for something that could be enjoyable or that could be a benefit to not only me at my time my mental health and so if you slow down just a little bit in life sometimes and maybe it's standing in line for your favorite bakery maybe it is going over to your mom's house in the afternoon it's we don't feel as if we can slow down as much to have hobbies like baking bread and when we think about just being accessible and meanwhile be month it's really important for people to realize just about the importance of what bees provide for our culture from a standpoint of everything can't be readily available and if we don't protect the society of bees or what the producing in value honey and their life more there's such an important part of what we think about not only livelihood but the food culture and the United States and beyond that revolve around these BS and revolve around slowing down and respecting things a little bit more and thing that can only come from education let's talk about the role that bees and honey play at born and bred tell me about some of your products that use honey we think of sugar when it comes to baking but there's a lot you can do with honey so so talk to me about some of the products you guys are making here today we use it as much as we can and breads I love dressing something with honey bring out a flavour that you wouldn't necessarily think about with that ingredient alone taking orange blossom I'm an putting some cardamom pods orange zest cinnamon stick a little bit of lemon juice and making this incredible syrup that you're like I don't know why I've had honey before vanilla bean pastry cream but having these things together is like it's just like a party in my mouth and so it's really fun utilizing it in different ways we're making testing pies for the Thanksgiving bake something we have coming up and yesterday we made the chocolate and pecan honey pie and so it's like chocolate a notch base at the bottom and then instead of using high fructose corn syrup or corn syrup of any any sort which we don't use in the bakery we took honey and replace that and the flavor of the chocolate and honey together and just the texture of the pecan Pie layered on top of this gosh like I'm really helpful this makes our menu it's a party in your mouth how can you even aching is from maybe the norm that we think about with like cupcakes or cakes it is very labor intensive it's long hours on your feet heavy lifting bending down king up bins with fifty pounds of flour or does so it's very labor intensive you stay busy well this is why people lined up around the block on the weekend because you've done all the hard work and then we get to reap the benefits what's your favorite type of honey to bake with and where do you all get the honey so we have a couple of different local purveyors they're smaller ones honeybee and then the other one is like the grandparent of one of the girls who work here both established businesses both the we trust often were getting the orange blossom variety because that's very familiar in this area but my personal favorite honey might be buckwheat made from honey bees that are are living off the buckwheat plant and it creates this very dark amber colored honey it's very rich it's not for everyone Lakeland which is the mid size town I was just looking online and food and wine featured you as a must visit bread bakery and you've got lines around block every weekend why are you passionate about being here in Lakeland why not move to Miami or Tampa bright lights big city you know I we thought about for about five years of my life leaving and there's something about like that just became magnetic and when you think about doing something like baking if if you think about what makes any city great it's the people and the people here just so special and it's in a great location between Orlando and Tampa but like it's GonNa surprise people in the next five years and the amount of people who are moving here and what people are willing to do in just the overall entrepreneurship and the way that the city promotes and supports people like me it's a great city to be in definitely Robin will appreciate you saying that because she's a Lakeland girl I better the people find you on Instagram I could feel my clothes getting tighter when I just look at your instagram pictures they are gorgeous they are mouth-watering talk to me about the role that social media has played in your business I mean baking bread is as old as time but now there's this new technology that's kind of getting the word out I think one thing that born and bred has done well is created an experience for any customer who comes here and so thinking outstanding in line it goes by very quick if you've never sit in it I promise especially these days it's not that bad to coming in and the smell.
Updates: Hurricane Dorian on path to hit Florida
"Warning this is a life threatening storm hurricane americaine dorian getting strong more powerful now a major category three hurricane as it turns towards florida. This is the view from the international space station. Asian is a model some two hundred and thirty mile- miles wide and this is dorrie and from the inside hurricane hunters flying into the eye of the storm today packing winds of up to one hundred fifteen miles per hour the national hurricane center warning dorian could bring a life threatening storm surge and devastating winds this florida's east coast according to the white house. The president has also been briefed on the storm. It's path and preparations. He spoke to reporters just a short time ago before heading to camp. David hurricane is aurora. Get it could be a big one. We're hoping that it may be makes a right and goes up north but that's about a five percent chance not looking good and it's one of the biggest hurricanes. We've seen it a long time long time so it could be very devastating. The threat of hurricane doreen is forcing airlines to start canceling flights store shelves becoming empty across the state of florida residents also also facing major fuel shortages that they try to stock up on gas ahead of dorian arrival and with winds predicted to be as strong as one hundred and thirty miles per hour when when it makes landfall dorian would be the strongest hurricane to hit florida's east coast hurricane andrew which cost the state more than twenty five billion dollars in damage and left left four people dead allison chinchar is out front live at the weather center tonight. Alison what's the latest path and other been lots of updates but it's it shows a fairly consistent insistent one right towards the heart of florida right so the latest update is really when you look at what the storm looks like we're talking about the eye of the storm because it has really really become symmetrical and large over just the last hour or so that is concerning because when we see something like that this usually means it's beginning the process of undergoing rapid good intensification that means. It's trying to strengthen even more right now. The windsor sustained one hundred fifteen miles per hour. Movement is west northwest at just about nine miles per <music> our but again there are a hurricane hunters that are on their way out to the storm right now. They will take a look at not only the but some of the surrounding bands take new measurements z. has this storm really undergone rapid intensification and if so what are the current measurements that are there we will likely get some new data in the next hour when the next update takes place place but as of now we are still thinking pretty similar along the lines of the track. We still anticipate it to get up to a category four so further intensification is still likely likely it's likely to be a category for is it crosses over the bahamas and then remain four as it approaches florida. We do have discrepancies a little bit in some of the models here. The blue dot is the european. The red dot is the american model the red dot the american model still hasn't making an actual landfall over portions ends of the east coast of florida the european model now however basically just has it sliding along the east coast bringing still heavy rain and gusty winds but not technically making a landfall as it skirts off the east coast in the coming days that concern here is it now. We're going to be starting to impact other states other than just this florida places like georgia south carolina and north carolina. Here's why you've got this high pressure system here in this upper low steering towards florida but as this high begins to breakdown and other factors atmospherically become into play this system is going to start to make that turn to the north but it could also slow down the concern there is not just it's the winds but also storm surge rainfall all of these things become factors here the forecast wind gusts even if it does just make landfall along the edge jim him you have the key. Keep an eye even places like lakeland orlando which are still pretty far inland will still likely end up getting hurricane force wind gusts in those areas even even though they are not along the coast. We'll keep you up to date as we get new information about that path. Thanks very much allison chinchar. Let's go to the beach florida that is right in in the current path of dorian also where our martin savage is tonight martin how seriously are folks. They're taking this and how are they preparing for it. Well you can measure that jim just by looking at the lumber here. This is plywood. You know it's amazing. In today's modern world the personal front line of defense for most folks in a hurricane is still plywood. It is preferred and it has been going on at the doors of this place. It's a home depot here and going out like crazy. They've gone through. We several truckloads. They're down to a few pallets left now and once that's gone. They hope there are more trucks coming then on top of that. They're already out of generators and the other the other thing. That's really going out of here sandbags. I'm talking about the place and the comes already bag because they can't find sandbags so they're using that because that is going to be the common common defense here plywood is used to battle the wins and the sandbags are being used to battle the water and that's the big fear for many people even as they are far away. Perhaps finland. They worry about the waterways that in this area are already over saturated in many cases. The water is right up to the top of the bank. So you consider the tremendous amount of rainfall. That's being predicted with a cat. Four storm flooding is a huge concern for many many people here time has been a good thing there is at least a lot of time and people have been making the most of it impact. Maybe making too much of it. We already know that there have been fuel shortages in a number of key places around estate. Miami has one of them. They've had fuel off and on the governor has said he's even sending police escorts now but some of the fuel trucks to make sure it gets delivered and then there's just the issue of food. Many people rushed out right away when they heard cab four and began buying it all up so the shelves in many places have been emptied. They are tried hi to replenish but they're trying to do it at a time. Frame that beats the storm coming in and now people have to leave and that's going to be another headache jim no question when those evacuation orders if they do come that'll be a big change martin savage thanks very much. Let's go now to todd were drastic. He's the mayor of jupiter florida also also in the a possible path of this storm so we're looking at the latest storm track. You're still in the path of the storm. Tell us what your biggest concerns now. We've heard of so many it's it's a triple threat right right because you got the surge. You got the rain and you got the win yeah we are. We're watching this very closely. <hes> you know when when you live in this part of florida a hurricanes or part of the deal but we're we're watching it very closely because we're trying to figure out where you who to evacuate went to evacuate evacuate and where might they go. <hes> it's also tough there. Were probably expecting what's called. A king tied this weekend and were a coastal community so we're probably expecting ding higher tides than normal so then when you couple that with the storm surge <hes> it's kind of a a nerve wracking time because we haven't we haven't been told exactly where the storm is going to be going <hes> now. It's slowed down a little bit so it gives us a little bit of time to figure out what's going on but it is an anxious time <hes> eh i've covered these storms that the surge come so quickly at times. You can barely keep track. The governor is not not yet ordering people to begin evacuating but at what point will you begin urging people to start packing up and heading out because you want to allow them time right of course to get to get safety yeah. We'll so what's so so tricky is where would you go. You were watching the storm track and you know we have some lessons learned from hurricane irma a couple of years ago <hes> some people evacuated waited and they wound up evacuating to where the hurricane wind up hitting and so that was really tough and that's pretty fresh fresh in people's minds and you look at this track in this track basically has it going somewhere near the coast of florida where we are and then shooting up north which is where most people obviously would go <hes> and so so that's the that's the tough part right here is we can watch it on the news with you all but then we're not quite sure where to go because once you once you get on the road food there's risk associated because if you if you leave and you wind up going somewhere how long has a tank of gas gonna gonna get hugh and when you get to that point where you're going to be able to fill up and so that that's a that's a tricky proposition for folks when they're dealing with their families and these these storms sometimes make unpredictable changes. They're already. We've been some changes to the storm track. You've lived in jupiter. Most your life and i know as you said this is part of the life of living in the state of florida but this is a particularly serious storm. I'm curious. A Dual Engine Flameout in a Cessna Citation II
"Bruce. I'd like to start with <hes> with you and jerry. The situation that we're gonna talk about is one that i don't think i've ever i heard about before and that is a dual engine flameout and a cessna citation and what we would refer to as <hes> what's commonly called a dead stick landing we sl were we're quite alarmed with the situation that you guys were presented with and <hes> we <hes> helped move the industry to put together. Some protection measures that other other pilots might not find the same. <hes> incident happened to them but bruce if you <hes> if you don't mind you jerry. Can you set us up with just a start the day i know it was a a flight probably a relatively routine flight from naples to niagara falls and do you mind just a setting it up and tell tell us the story sure. Absolutely we started that morning. As any other day we started at the base upon gorda they loaded up her plane reflected it just as we normally would not expect anything nathan law the norden ordinary fueled up enough fuel to get to naples knowing that we had to go later to niagara down to naples picked up our patient. We topped topped off with fuel from there. We loaded up and it was just like any other day. We loaded up. We're in the plane and we're at altitude cruise along at three five zero. Oh so far nothing's happened so i'll back up just a little bit airtrek. Your mission is <hes> patient mobility is that is this a fairly typical <hes> run for you guys. Can you talk a little bit about airtrek and what you guys do airtrek an air ambulance business and we've been in <hes> transporting patients <hes> <hes> this was a pretty typical flight <hes> where we started out of our base. We've positioned to another airport in this case naples and we generally go out of here so that we can meet landing weight at the other at the next airport so they put about forty two hundred pounds of fuel along here so each of the airplanes that were involved in this incident <hes> fueled with about four hundred fifty gallons of fuel here repositioned to naples where our medical staff goes into the hospital picks up the patient and then bring them back out while they're doing that the the the pilots post-flight and then reprieve flight the airplane and add what additional fuel that they need it that that place in this particular case naples and then they depart and go generally nonstop to their destination which in this case was niagara falls for these two gentlemen okay got it so oh fuel up at <hes> at punta gorda very sure short hop down to naples to pick up your patient something that's routinely done pretty commonly done and and is <hes> is punta gorda the home base for <hes> for airtrek. Yes it is okay all right so somewhere. You're you're familiar with operations. This put the fuel on board a lot of consideration into your weight and balance in your performance and and the things you think about when you're going <hes> that long distance in these these kinds of <hes> airplanes and now <hes> bruce you've mentioned that <hes> you're route of flight was from naples to <hes> niagara falls and i notice as i track that out here <hes> on the four flight looking at <hes> identifier alpha papa fox to india alpha golf and part of that flight <hes> you're about probably twenty five or thirty miles over the atlantic ocean. That's correct. I don't remember specifically that day if they give us direct right out normally it's it's more like <hes> they send you over. Lakeland ish area and then direct but we were at some point as much as twenty miles offshore. If i remember correctly yeah got it and so so far so good you're climbing up to flight level three five. Oh you're in a <hes> citation to. I believe is that right. That's correct okay citation citation to great performing airplane. I'm also typed in a in a citation <hes> three <hes> five to five type rating and so <hes> they're just great great performance airplanes. The citations are great for the missing. You're using it for the so far so good nothing unusual you're cruising altitude and then <hes> would you mind what happened next ex- sure we're in normal cruise. Everything's going as as expected and you know we've already. We're on step. We've picked up speed. We're an hour and twenty in very uh routine nothing nothing and i find myself fidgeting with the number one engine trying to get the end one fan speed where i wanted it and it was kind of reacting a little different than normal but not enough to be alarming not enough to even make note of <hes> after seeing me fidget aged with for a bit jerry actually asked me. What percentage are you looking for and i'm like well you know hundred and three percent ever take you know i just like being there and <noise> <noise> as we're messing with it. It's just kind of acting a little funny and i said to jerry you know i'm gonna pull this back to about ninety percent see what it does and then i'll put it back up because i just wanted to see how it just felt abnormal not alarming but abnormal so we pulled the number one engine back to about ninety percent of course it's it's pulled back without issue no problem and then when i tried to roll it back up towards the one hundred percent it went down to eighty nine eight eighty seven and continued to school back from there. That's when we <hes> said okay well. It looks like we're losing the number one engine. Let's ask for lower now that time jerry called up and ask a._t._c. if we could get one five fifteen thousand and about where were you at this point. <hes> geographically were you. Were you feet wet over the east coast florida or were you. We were probably closer to a beam savannah out over the water. We wear we're feet wet. I think we're beyond florida just just somewhere right there around florida georgia in that area got it and for our listeners not that familiar with the with jets jets and fan speeds. It's it's not uncommon to run in your in. One fans speed it over one hundred percent right. Can you just talk to us a little bit about the difference between in one and into your fan speeds and the things you're looking at for a jet engine sure of course just like a and flying. J got a <hes> if you look in the book. You've got a certain r._p._m. Setting that you're looking for we have a similar thing. It's just based on the n one fan speed. That's basically the r._p._m. Of the front of the front half of the engine <hes> <hes> in this case the book reads the charts performance charts at minus twenty degrees celsius which is what it is up there at thirty five thousand we're able to run the fans of two hundred and four percent so i don't particularly myself like to just hold them at a hundred and four that doesn't give me any leeway if it sneaks up on me because it gets colder so i usually answer closer to one hundred and three percent okay got it great and so <hes> you mentioned that it didn't feel right but it was more that you weren't really feeling anything. Anything is more. You're just you're cruising at altitude monitoring your engine instruments in your cross-check and you're noticing that in one just isn't quite where you want it right. Yeah yeah your typical response on the thrust levers when you push it forward a little bit you expect it to bump up a tenth of a percent or if you pull a back you know you'd expect a tenth of a percent and it really it wasn't reacting the way you'd expect everything was perfectly smooth and there was no actual feel and the butter meter but the reaction of the percentage percentage to the thrust setting wasn't what was expected. Yeah wasn't quite just based on your experiences. Just seems like a little bit of a head scratcher right and this isn't quite right or we're actually had we actually had a pretty good split on the throttles by then you know where they the number two where it should be number. One is actually above it and we weren't anywhere near the same r._p._m. Okay yeah so that's looking different to physically the throttles are are separated. Were typically. They're matched up. You might have a fraction the difference between the the number one engine number two engine throttles but for the most part they're pretty close together in this case. You're seeing that is a pretty good physical difference. In were you have those <hes> so that's another kind of this right yeah okay and so <hes> so you pull the engine back <hes> the engine rolls back but then when you go oh to push it up it doesn't roll back up and actually starts winding down on you and so obviously that's alarming you know now. You've got a problem with the number one engine and you're we're at thirty five thousand feet walk supllies. What would you do from there well. We know what thirty five thousand with a single engine. We're not going to be able to maintain that altitude so the first thing before even even figuring out. What else do we just know. We need to go down so we've asked for one five fifteen thousand. They granted that to us fairly quickly <hes> within seconds. We've determined that this engine is probably not gonna come back to come back to life so we've asked for <hes> radar vectors to an airport at this case at this time. We just asked for an airport a large airport with nice weather. They suggested three of them. One of them was savannah sounded great. Yeah yeah we started punching in the information for savannah into the g._p._s. checking the weather check and runways of course as suggested. It seemed like a perfect fit for needs it was within within a reasonable distance and we started headed that direction and so when the <hes> jury when the engine started rolling back when you when you post it forward and you actually got a roll back on the r._p._m. And it kept rolling back so you knew it was eventually going towards zero and at that point had you still not had any kind of <hes> unusual indications. <hes> you know <hes> fuel. Indications are low fuel pressure or anything like that yet. No that was interesting. The fuel-filter light did not go on and so we weren't sure what we had here. If we had a mechanical problem what it was but other than stayed very smooth smooth just was rolling back and we never went zero <hes> the engines div returning anywhere between twenty four and twenty eight percent yeah interesting okay which makes sense right if it as long as he can freely windmill. It's not gonna go to zero percent. It's gonna it's gonna wind mill. <hes> do some air pressure in there but yet <hes> so you know and you could you feel the thrust

My God you people on hold on. So before we continue. Apparently, you know, a lot more about lakeland Florida than I do. And I'm guessing a lot of our listeners. Also don't know about lakeland fl apparently like you're making it out like this is redneck capital of the world. I mean, there are probably more people that talk like I was just talking there. Remember, I'm from a nearly adjoining county to lakeland the manatee county. It is a diagonal to lakeland county. So I have a reasonable idea of what the accents. Like if somebody wants to come after me on it. All right. I'm a local I'm just saying that. So that the way you're telling this story has a lot of context vet somebody. That knows nothing about lakeland Florida is going to miss now. Really? They're idiots everywhere. And this father is an idiot. Okay. Got it. That's what we call them. When we're from the center part of the state of Florida, we call them idiots. All right. So this is a man who is so bad parenting. His child gets lost and in and in order to cover for his bad parenting. He decides to beat another man so bad that person and his friends are so bad about it that that guy flees the the the county in order to be safe. Right. So I'm guessing at some point during police involvement. The police are told that. By the guy that got his ass whooped. Does this girl was wondering around, and and I don't know how intelligent maybe he were talking like this little girl here. She's wondering around she's all kinds of lost. And I was like, well, I got me a little girl and cheese at home with the ex wife and baby mob number four. And I felt sorry for this girl. So I figured I'd help her find her daddy. And so I was trying to find her daddy. And then somebody come over and says, that's my girl where are you doing? And before I could say that I've tried to help this little girl that reminds me of my little girl, find her daddy. He's just Waylon face. That's pretty much. What happened? Yeah. So at what point did the guy that did the punching get informed by police or someone that the guy he was punching was trying to help his daughter after the punching. Like days after hours after minute minutes after got it. Yeah. And the it's the it's the jump to conclusions. Right. So the accusation was made and it literally in the story. It says here the accusation was made one of the friends basically said, hey, that guy's trying to kidnap your daughter accusations made the accusation is so terrible. Kidnapping a two year old girl is a terrible accusation. Right. Kidnapping is not a good thing. Right. The the accusations made, and it's so terrible. That people have to presume that it's true because it's not the power of the it's not the it's not the the act that the person did it's the power of the accusation. That's made against them at this point. And this is what I mean by jumping to conclusions is just because somebody's made a terrible accusation doesn't mean that we shouldn't employ a thousand years of English common law to determine what's true. And what isn't that? Even though Brett Kavanagh isn't being accused of a crime here. He's simply up for a job interview. Doesn't mean we should lower the standard of proof because then that gives anybody at any time in any place an opportunity just make any old accusation that that they could. They want to and that that accusation has weight because that is terrible. So what does the thousand years of common law that you're saying should be employed because there are some people that they think that shoot. First ask questions later is common law. Jurisprudence right..

"The the great people that are putting this on mark creature the bunch over there at national they will they'll show you good time and we're going to raise some money for some really really good good charity so let's jump on these calls quick let's go to bob in lakeland bob how're you mourning mourning mourning i live over on lake gibson and lakeland here okay and i was wondering does this lg kill off the fish because i usually catch all kinds of bass and it's been a long time since i've even caught in one really bob it all depends you know we're we're talking read the stuff in the offshore salt water it can literally kill fish but where you're talking about lake gibson or any of our lakes of our five hundred fifty four lakes in polk county sir when you have serious algae bloom like that it blocks the sun from the bottom of the lake at any grasses we have growing on the bottom of the lake die because they don't get any light the bacteria that break down that dead grass in the process of breaking it down are using up oxygen it sucks the oxygen out of the water and it literally can fix you ate fish or at a minimum drive them down to the deepest water where it's cooler and there might be a little more dissolved oxygen and they're not where you would usually see them so yes it's a problem it can cause fish then in deep water because it's you know i haven't seen any floating fish kill at all you know like like you do in salt water but and at times instead of being green it is actually a blue is that a sign of a different type of runoff it's it's a seasonal thing they're both freshwater algae the colors well it gets it gets a little complicated but basically the color you see when you're looking at any plant is the color of light that it's not using to make food with so when when you're looking at a green plant that means that plant is using everything but green to make food they're using the yellows and the reds and the light spectrum so they'll they'll all have different mechanisms for turning sunlight into sugar and storing it and that has more to do with that it's not it is a different kind of algae but it's still an ordinary freshwater algae it's not for example the bluegreen algae that we were talking about that causes red tide one more quick cash get the rest of would an aerator in in the lake in front of the property would that help to subdue anything or absolutely it helps the bacteria have plenty of oxygen to decompose the dead vegetation plus.

"I hesitated and remember being terrified with fear and i think that i froze right there in the middle of the hall for how long i can't say man that's no i'm not a police officer for this specific reason i'm i'm a coward i don't know that i but but when you're getting paid to to protect people say their lives man you just i don't know maybe this show is propolice we we love the law enforcement we support law enforcement but it's hard not to just shake your head and go w what the f right dude what the f come on man because if the exact same thing that happened with scott peterson down at the shooting lakeland scott peterson was the officer that frozen and scott israel i just saw on laura luminaries speaking speaking of parkland the broward county sheriff scott israel she's claiming this is according to laura bloomer she's claiming that scott going to be removed next week really high level sources within broward county sheriff's office exclusively reveal the disgrace broward county scott scott israel will be removed next week there's some irs something about of being investigated by the i r s and following an investigation conducted by the office of the florida governor so there's a couple of different things going on with that one yeah they scott israel is a guy that could not have handled this any worse with his attitude and the way that he's carried himself so pompously just it's embarrassing actually and it's unfortunate because again you're absolutely right we're very pro police on this show we have family and friends that you know our officers that do this for a living they're good guys they take care of things the right way but we have to do our jobs in call out crap when we see it and what took place down in broward county was crap and what took place in las vegas from so many different levels is crap again i go to vegas every year i'm going back to vegas this october it's kind of my home away from home because i've got the kids call a gambling problem you don't need you don't need to put quotes when you do that by the way putting it into context okay we know you the gambling problem but man it just feels like so many people have their hand in the cookie jar here in las vegas you've got an officer that's caught on video refusing to go into a room and confront the shooter you've got what feels like mgm kind of being the puppet masters here and controlling this entire investigation multiple people in the police department and the l vp have been reassigned and so many things have came out about other shootings but nothing on the biggest mass shooting that took place in american history in one of the most busiest cities in the world where they have constant video surveillance everything's videoed in las vegas on arguably the most famous street in america las vegas boulevard blows my mind quick before you hit a break here could you explain to me today was the first day i've ever heard of a fish pedicure okay i've never i've never even seen those two words together imprint you've never even heard about this like i get you haven't had one but you've never even heard about it okay so what a fish pedicure is is women or i guess it could be men they dip their nasty feet into this water at a boutique somewhere and these little fish swim around and the eat all the dead skin off of your feet and it's supposed to be very relaxing and therapeutic it's allegedly good for your skin system all the dead skin gets eaten off because it's these little toothless carp fish okay well i said allegedly because there's a new story that came out some chick if claiming that she had one of these fish pedicures and then her toenails stopped growing and then ultimately all of her toenails fell off of her feet just because the fish were pecking at it yeah and i don't know there was one like infected fish that made something happen here but this woman who's young in shape in her twenty s did one of these fish pedicures and the little fisher nibbling off all the dead skin and she said she noticed her toenails hat needed to be cut in a long time and then they all started falling off again i'm watching one in thailand right now in the f it's a it's a woman and she's just got our feet in a big tank full of little fish and.
