"Faxed things every Longhorn should know will break that down for you coming up. Also coming up at 5 30 this afternoon, a visit with Brad Buckman, the former Longhorn great to talk about His days with LaMarcus Aldridge. LaMarcus Aldridge surprised everybody today for real, announcing his retirement from professional basketball right after he went up there and you have to be a BK. Think it's already I think it's his heart so easily and leave it at the right time. Okay, let's get to the phone lines. Todd is calling from South Boston to talk about the transfer portal hates odd. Welcome. You're on Caleb EJ radio. Go ahead, Todd. You guys always a pleasure to be on deep premier Sports radio. So you think you could have any? Um, Yeah. My my question around this empty double A transfer rule change, which I'm fully supportive of this. Well, I'm online with you guys. Is whether there might be a trickle down effect to the U. L because they have this antiquated rule about transfers as well. And I'm wondering if that's kind of been based on the anti double A's rules. With the change there. You might start seeing a little bit more movement at the high school level as well. Which I would also be supportive of. Well, but it'll be interesting to see what you know The ripple effects might be. It is not on first shares the Yeager in your Honor, Tom? Yes. I've been out for a little bit down Mexico for a little bit, But I'm back and coming in hot, right, You know, 20 minutes at the gate on today's show. Where were you in Mexico, Todd? Was down combo for a little bit. Oh, good for you. How's our mayor doing? Did you did you? Did you share a cabana with him? I think I was looking for my eyes with the other Mayor of Boston Detail. Donald Kent. Lance. Oh, really great kid on my body kit. Well, good for you guys. Now on, you are l thing. Let's be honest on the Ohio football. There's been retail sports because I can speak on that you can, especially with you. I'll football with powerhouses. There's been recruiting for a long, long time. My town of Brownwood We allegedly recruited back in the sixties. And you know what? We would get the best players from all over the Central Texas area, and they would appear in Brownwood and sometimes you know, they turn their back on their little towns because they want to play football, huh? You see that around the state you see, mostly Well, you see parents moving to the district to the South Lake carols to the West Lakes to the lake. Travis is where they know their kids going to play football, and it's gonna be a great vaulting point for for college. I don't know if you're gonna have that in the U. L That went out to your crazy Yeah, that would that You don't think you have that You're crazy. It's happening, and it's been happening for decades. I didn't even know there was rules saying you couldn't Oh, yeah, There's rules. 95 shout out to my home a martyr The Anderson Trojans. They're they're winning man. They made it to the state Finals and basketball genders is back. That was Kris Clack. And as a junior, we got Ryan Huntley, who's now like in the Hall of Honor from Tarleton State. I believe I think he was a transfer from LBJ and no waiting at the parent ring and ST William Stringfellow. I remember waiting straight who went on to play behind? I know he we went next time. Scali after David Robinson in San Antonio. It was Tim Duncan's him Dunkin wait for played behind him. Duncan and Wake Forest, but he has hold on. Okay. Moved from Houston used to be on that team. Do you trust me? They were recruited, but to do so they live in the school district that they live in the Anderson school district. Where did they live in another school. That's That these were pretty blurry there at 11. It gets blurry. Are you gonna borrow somebody's address? A cousins and aunts are best friends. Bingo, bango, But I'm all right with that. I wouldn't mind if you I'll kind of followed two allowed it, But it'll be interesting to see whether they kind of follow the leader. Not I don't know. I don't know if they will, because that really would be Chaos. If great player from Lake Travis got crossways with a head coach and said Todd Dodge, I'm gonna join you, and he still lives in Lake Travis and goes place for Westlake or vice versa. Yeah, I think in college football, it's more palatable to me, saying that it's it's happened and we both seen it happen is your examples them? I've seen it happen to top. What about you? You? You would like to see that in high school, huh? Well, I just think that it unfairly penalizes some students. When you know you have to be enrolled in the prior calendar year. You know, it's out of the students control. It's usually a family matter, and there's an appeal process. Look, I think the U L. There are parallels in C W and it being out of step with the times and actually disadvantageous in some ways the student athletes, even though you know, they say they have their best interest in mind. So to me, it was more of a that this may open up a discussion at the U. L around this given 20 double A's obviously making a big pivot. So I'm just curious to see whether there is any movement over time and whether that might The catalyst for change there in my be trickling down, and who knows? Next year, maybe kids in the U. L cannot sell their likenesses. Well, they can. That's the thing that's why then she w crazy Because kids can just college students. You can't talk to you gonna be a good lifetime Longhorn and pick up Kyle I'm Lang's new book, 101, Aggie fax things every Longhorn should know. Absolutely. He's on later today, right? Well, we'll be talking about him. He's yes, Yes, Okay, Things happen fast in the world of sports talk. He's a big time author. Now we're talking about, you know, getting big time by people. Does he or was there because you're going to tell me that there's not boosters and donors at the high school level? There are there are. There are big time, especially a big program here, so Oh, well, you know, Billy Joe will get your dad a job at the whatever. Exactly. Come on down and put you up with an apartment or something. See, that's difficult in this town. Can you imagine some boosters from One of the more fluent areas of the football. Paris and Oh, yeah, we'll get your house. I bring this up again because I got way late last night by a bunch of people and I want your How how deep we got into this about the transfers and how it's going to be really, really wacky and your eyes will pop out of your head say if Chris Beard said straight up, it's the Wild Wild West. Right now, it is reported, and I think in football, it's gonna be I open. And when you say Wait a minute, that guy was a running back for the Longhorns, and he's wearing an Oklahoma jersey. Why would you say that? Well, because it could happen, it could happen. You're a jerk. 4 23 You know you sucks. I know they do. But I'm just saying, be prepared for some wacky things to happen. 51283605 90 That's a phone number here on kill BJ Radio again Coming up at 5 30 A vision with Brad Buckman to talk about LaMarcus Aldridge. LaMarcus Aldridge called it quits today, which I was really surprised about because he had just made the move to the Nets. And he's with the super team, And I thought a man health for Health first undoubtedly. Barely. It's hard issue that forced him to retirement, which is a blow to that the next team because I think he was just another added piece of the puzzle there. That would have been great things for that for that team for sure, But he was always one of my favorite longhorn players. Because of that soft little shot he could. He could play low. He could have that shot outside this and you liked how you wore those super baggy shorts, super baggy shorts. You are a fan of that's not just baggy shorts. But Superbad Buckman at 5 30. You know what? You should probably ask him about it. Thoughts on our new coach Chris Beard, too. I think we will. I think we will. Can I take that call on one? NFL Insider Dan Graziano Breaks Down Week 11

"Dan graziano it is eleven fifty eight. Pm eastern so. Thank you very much man for staying up late behind. After that game. I go right to sleep. That was exciting. Dan graziano is an espn nfl insider. And he will get to sleep soon. We promise fired for game like that. Yeah me too i mean. Let's get into this right off the top here the chiefs. Just beat the raiders. Thirty five to thirty one. They beat the team who is beating kansas city. This season dan back in week. Five about a million years ago. So were you watching for in this rematch tonight. Well to see if they can do it again right. I mean that sounds simple. But like i didn't think their victory over kansas city was a fluke because it seemed like they had kind of a formula that they went out and they stuck to. They didn't win but a certainly could have. And i think that's that's significant because they know that's the team that is in their way in their division. Obviously they're on top of the conference in the league as super bowl champion. So you see the raiders. Draft a running back in the first round last year. That can help them. Control the clock and keep mahomes on the sideline like they did in the first game. They played they draft the speedy wide receiver this year in the first round. That can stress their quarterbacks. I mean they're thinking about the chiefs all the time. They're certainly not on that level at this point as the records indicate but they've constructed a team that can play in a way that threatens the chiefs and it might be able to beat them. So they're not as different as you might inclined to think yet and i have to admit like the difference between pat mahomes and derek carr felt smaller than i ever realized it would tonight. What did you see from these two quarterbacks total commanded of the offense which has not always been him. And certainly since gruden's been there. We've seen a lot more ups and downs. Where he looked like he was a little bit. Lost a little bit uncertain But this is years three with gruden and when gruden got there he talked about competent car up and making sure that car believed he was the guy. So that when you know. When ben came together around him he would be the guy that was in total control of things. And and it seems to be coming to fruition. What he's got. He's got people to throw to nelson agholor like out of nowhere as having a career renaissance in las vegas. He's got two very running back. Got a great offensive line. And i think you know he's playing with a lot of confidence as you would expect him to give all those things now. I think he's taken a big job this year in terms of where. He ranks in terms of the quarterbacks. We feel confident about what we watched the did feel like gruden kinda new like no. It's sunday night football. Let's give the people something that they'll enjoy. What did you most enjoy from. Hearing those play called why. I our love to know what the purple walrus was and i mean i think there are some vegas ones like he dropped. The sammy davis in there at one point and then and then it sounded like they've been paying very close attention to the nba off-season because there are a number of james harden and those who among nfl coaches knows how to produce primetime football. Better than jon gruden right. I mean he did it for for a decade or so for us in terms of operating in that sphere. So maybe i don't know maybe maybe he feels like a showman or maybe they're just having a lot of fun in their in their offensive meetings. They sound like all. The time does not all watching every week but was it so as showmanship goes that lasts. Drive man lake travis. Kelsey had some great moments in this game but that catch at the end mahomes calling him the best tight end in the league game. What did you see from travis kelsey tonight yeah domination. This is this. is you talk about reliability. I mean the the quarterback knows he's going to be where he's supposed to be. He knows he's almost certainly going to be open. He know he's going to catch the ball like it's total complete confidence in a guy in a key spot third down. A guy had throw to the end zone in the final minute. I mean he is the best tight end in the league. I don't think it's even close especially when you know. George kittle is on the shelf right now in the second best tight end. The league is probably the guy that was on hiller sidelines tonight. So there's there's no doubt that he in homes are in sync in a way that very few combinations like that are

And if someone does want to do it they can only. Do it with permission. But they cannot use that live. Listen capability on these devices. I think it's a fascinating question that the school district is saying look we want to stop this. Because we're worried about the privacy of the other kids who don't know they're being monitored live. I think there's more to it than that. I think the teachers are also behind their speculate in the first half hour, you wonder if there's some legal or financial liability, you wonder, too is there an issue an incident or a situation that prompted this change that we haven't heard about yet was there something caught on the audio or something. That's another story that that prompted all this. So we just haven't heard about now. One of these devices is from a company called angel sense. Listen to this father who is using one of these devices, and he has a child who's autistic, and he says this this is wonderful. This is really really helpful to parents like me and others with kids who face. As challenges really found another use of the device. "It's been happening lake Travis that really should have never happened is starting to get water that hasn't had water in it for, you know, over a decade, and you all of this stuff leaching field gas areas oil everything else is coming right back into the lake because they let it get up. So high you're saying they should have opened the Mansfield dam. Gates, more more of them, and sooner. When they started flooding upstream. Absolutely. They should have had that they should've had it flowing all along. They try is really because of the development around the perimeter of it now to never get about six ninety five. Because once it starts getting seven hundred grains, like it is now it's getting the areas that I mean, you wait till you see the debris and everything is coming down. And there's only there's only one area for it to go. It's going down to you know, through Mansfield dam to lake Austin, right? And then from lake Austin it's coming to town lake and then from town lake it's going like bastrop and then down the field and like fan, no visually. It ends up down at the rice farmers, which I'm sure it's going to be, you know, a really nice flavor stranded rice coming out of there. And you know, what eventually it ends up, you know, down towards the Gulf it affects everything between here in the Gulf. Absolutely, listen Ross, you know, this better than anybody water is oil up to to the Ray lot of money and wanted to yell CRA makes hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars selling water. So they they love for the links to be fool. We all do we all want the likes to be full? But you say six ninety five level. Six ninety five is really start that kind of a critical point that is. And you know, like where it's at right now there like a hundred and thirty percent. You know, full. So you know, there's not so much. They can't go much further with it and everything and in like, Phil Wilson, the general manager frailty are, you know, he talks about you know, how they're trying to manage it. But you know, they they've never really paid attention. Bob rose is one of their main meteorologists that they they put on their website. And you know, Bob rose has been around forever. I've known Bob rose for thirty years. Yeah. Absolutely. And the guy knows what he's talking about. And he he's predicted these catastrophic rains these historic range that come in. And it's almost like they're reactive instead of being proactive Dutch. When when they knew that this was coming in and up in that area, burn it, you know, Lameda area and all that they should have known that it's time to start kind of moving a little bit of water down to be prepared for barrage. You saying that maybe they should have lowered. I mean like Travis was already probably seventy five feet low. Ahead of the reins go ahead and lowered even more in anticipation. It's gonna rise more than anything else starts slowly getting those gates open like LBJ LBJ went up, and that's a confident level lake everything I kept hearing at the beginning of this flooding was like Travis will be okay lake Travis can handle it. They have room sounds like they were they really got caught off guard here or the rain event. It was mother nature. Nobody nobody can predict how many buckets of Ryan the fall. So I was trying to figure out how do they really know that Ross. I appreciate your call, man. Thank you very much. Check back in with this as well. When you can't I appreciate it. Joining us on the news line state Representative Tony Dale at a cedar park. Yes. Hey, tony. I know you have a lot of insight into some things going on along the border as you know, this morning. The president is talking about sending troops to the border. If Mexico does not stop that caravan. That's coming up from L Salvador update us on what is really happening on the on the border. Well, I think a lot of Texans. Texans believe in legal immigration, not illegal immigration. And that's that's important because I got a lot of people in my district that have come here from other countries, especially South Asia. And they've migrated legally, and that's honorable, but you know, what we're seeing on the border and the last couple of weeks we've seen as many as seven thousand people per week being apprehended, which is up, unfortunately, and they're coming from countries all over the world. But what are the aspects about with President Trump's doing which is different from what we saw under President Obama is he's using the full spectrum of his presidential power. Because you can't just you can't just change. The law. That's one thing. You've got to you've got to use your full diplomatic power. He said to the other countries, I need you to do something different. He's talking he's using informational power. You know, using the power of his presidency in the platform. He has tell people not to come and tell people to enforce the law and all this kind of stuff. He's talking about using the military and and using economic pressures. Well, they know the country say look if you keep doing this. We're not gonna give you money anymore. That's called the dime. Principal diplomatic informational military economic. If you don't do all these things together and have interior enforcement against employers who would hire people, then you're you're just going to continue to have these kind of unrestricted flows. You know, who knows state rep? Tony del you've served the country in the military. You're still a guardsman. Correct. Are you in the state guard? I'm yes, I'm in the Texas State guard. What would the rules of engagement be? If we send troops to the border would they have guns would they shoot would they arrest were they apprehend? What would they do? I think what we've seen in the past is that we don't know what the rules of engagement beat up. I'll be a federal decision. But in the past really the military has been used to. To facilitate the border patrol and ice for doing their job. Making sure that particular areas are essentially blocked here. There is an obstacle to channel people to wear the border patrol might be. Because really we're talking about is between the bridges between the ports of entry to prevent the illegal crossings. So they can do observation. They can do surveillance and they can help. You know, bring the border patrol and local law enforcement in on people. That are breaking the law from the updates. You get from homeland security. How did these caravans get organized? There's an estimated four thousand who's behind this. Really, it's it's mainly done by international criminal organizations and the drug cartels where they use this as a source of revenue they advertise that they're going to be doing this. They have people that collect the money. They have people that facilitate the transportation and logistics all along the way, but unfortunately, and tragically for the people that do this not only do they end up losing their life savings they jeopardize themselves because they're so dicta terrible crimes along the way and some estimates as many as eighty percent of the women almost regardless of age are raped resulted along the way, and so it's a real human tragedy as well. And unfortunately, when people are attracted to come here because of because of a lack of enforcement they're injured and somebody's injuries are lifelong or even life threatening. They killed I want to give you a chance to correct yourself because you said a number just a minute ago. That sounds outrageous. I don't know how it could be true. Are you are you correct on seven thousand a week? Well, that's just what we've been catching. So we don't we don't know. Why don't we don't know? You don't know. How many you miss, but? Yeah. The numbers in the past few weeks have been in the range of seven thousand apprehend, and that's in Texas alone. And that includes the entire US sports thirty thousand a month. I mean, that's three hundred thousand a half a million a year. That's amazing. That's that's tremendous. Well, it's it's been even worse back when governor Perry sent the national guard to the border, and the national guard still there governor habits has been there since the day, he became governor different numbers based on the need. But there were fourteen thousand a week being apprehended in June of twenty fourteen coming across the text again from all countries is they're not mostly not from Mexico. What do you what do you mean? What do you mean from other countries? We certainly see a large number of people that come from Central America, Nicaragua, El Salvador, but we catch dozens every week from China. We catch people from the most concerning really are the countries that have a nexus to terrorism we catch people from Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Libya. You name it. If it's got Saudi Arabia boils catch people from Africa. We catch people from Europe as well. Which is stunning if you're coming from Europe, and you sneak in through the southern border, you're probably somebody that's hiding something. Right. You're probably somebody. We want to question, right? 'cause I'm talking about people that are crossing between the bridges between the ports of entry over the river. You don't have to do that. If you come from a country that has sort of reciprocal these agreements like the United Kingdom where we do catch people from you've heard me talk about Canada. We've caught Canadians before that's a bad idea, man. That's right. So it's concerning. But but really when you catch people from from countries where you know, there's an excess terrorism that that's very concerning. Yeah. Absolutely state rep Tony thank you so much for being on the show. Appreciate it. Thank you. There you go. He's one of the good guys out there nine twenty one here on the tiny, Don show, and we're so glad you joined us got a lot to get to here on this on the show.
