"And has been interpreted many different ways by many different groups throughout the years. You would hope that above and beyond anything in any holy book. Love would reign supreme. It's what we're here to do. We we live we die. And in the meantime, we love each other as friends family sexual partners more should should be all about love. Love doesn't see color. Love doesn't see discrimination in my opinion. Love doesn't see fear. So I don't understand why religious groups in two thousand nineteen try to fight love. Methodist church in Saint Petersburg called Allendale. United performed a gay wedding one woman wished to wed and other woman, and I know whether whether it's two men or two women Saint Pete is definitely the place to do it. And and we we support your right to marry someone that you love to consenting adults wish to pledge. Why can't they be as miserable? As us straight book. You should you should be able to pledge your love to someone no matter what your sexual orientation. So pastor did this Andy Oliver. He married to women. Not he married to women that'd be bigamy. And that's only allowed in the Mormon faith. But he he married one woman to another, and I guess one Tampa pastor Reverend Brett Byron of lake Magdalene United Methodist Church. So we have some Methodists on Methodist action here always dangerous. He took issue with the whole, you know, love one another thing. And he decided that that kind of love that can't wash in the Methodist fate faith, because I guess they don't want you loving and other women if you're a woman, you they want you to go against what you are biologically programmed to do if you're a lesbian or even bisexual. So he complained to the Bishop of the Florida conference on March sixteenth and along with the accuser mister Byron. Mr. Oliver is gonna have to appear before a Bishop in lakeland, and they might take away his church because he decided to wed one female to another that. Okay. Or is that not okay? Seven two seven five seven nine one zero two five and eight hundred seven seven one one zero two five. Well, keep did something that goes against the whole religion against what they interpret religion to be. Right. It's almost like you you work somewhere. And they have they have a certain set of rules and you go against them. Right. Even though we don't agree with their rules fairly. He he violated them. He did John. I just I battle with this thought of like bigger, a bigger idea of tolerance. Where not only are we tolerant of the people who, you know, want to love whoever they will. But also try to understand what this religion is. And what it means to these people? And if it's if it's done from a place of hate, and it's done in a hateful way. There's no excuse for it. But I mean, these people are embedded in their faith. And if that's something that's a part of it. I who am I to judge that just like who am I to judge, you know, to people getting together because they're married. We don't all have to agree on everything. But if we can just exist together, you know, that that's the best the best answer for me. I quit to this. I agree with what you said. And I think tolerance includes tolerating ideas, that we find detestable that said if there were church that would not allow a black man to marry a white woman. I think we'd all stand up and say that's wrong. Right. So to stand in the way because if you're antiquated man should not lie with another man bull crap to me, you should be put on blast for that. And it's not like we can force you to be okay with it. But we can hold you accountable for what is blatant discrimination. When you allow heterosexual couples to marry and you won't allow gay couples drive by this church all the time and always right there. They always have a lot of signs like supporting gay a lot of stuff. I feel like if they do decide to let this guy go, I don't know how the religious world works. But I feel like somebody would embrace this guy there. I feel like this guy would be a hot name. That's what I liked the way this guy. This guy is a different interpretation of of religion that we both believe in. I want to bring him into my church now. Sure. But I think what it does also is points out the Methodist organization if they're okay with taking away. This church is the church that would strip man of his religious leadership simply because he allowed a woman to marry a woman and that is in taller. That is discriminatory. And it makes you a close minded bigot. But guess what this is America? And there's there's room for everybody. Here. I also think that like we take for granted. Although, you know, we we've experienced a lot over the past ten fifteen twenty years. I think that we are still in the infancy of people really being accepting and religion starting to accept, you know, gay marriage and things like that because you know, twenty years ago, the idea of a method, you know, Methodist pastor marrying a gay couple would would have heads exploding shirt today. It's much more easy to digest. There's also a certain level of patients the society needs to have with trying to get people who have been taught the other way through the religion, which they hold so dear t to understand that's not necessarily the the right way. Correct. And to speak to what set said, it's like almost a blanket set of rules or ways that you believe in living in conducting your faith so for. Anticipate Joel John just said for the history of the world. There's not been an acceptance of gay marriage to now this pastor who's in the head position of the church is he's bringing something new to the table. So think about the eighty five year old who's sitting in their sermons every Sunday, and this is new and foreign this baffles them for them to lead. The church is uncomfortable as many in the room who's a Christian. I do believe in love and leading and conducting my life with the greatest embodiment of God's love into accept everybody. So it's just a new age way of approaching Christianity and accepting. Correct. And no one's forcing it down your throat and saying you have to be okay with it. But to go after a guys church because he did it. That's where you overstep, and you paint your organization as a bunch of big. It's in my opinion. Mark is this okay? Or not okay. To take the church away. Okay. What? Because it's it's not a government entity. It's not a well it is public entity. But it's a religious entity bright. I'm I'm not saying for me. It's okay. But I'm just saying underneath our law and the way our country is that it and the way maybe maybe I need to clarify. This is not as legal or is it illegal. Are you? Okay. With a guy getting his church taken away because he performed a gay marriage. Are you okay with that? If it was a Catholic church. I'm I'm Catholic. I I wouldn't be okay with it. You know, because I I do believe people could love whoever they wanna love. Good for you. I'm not a Methodist why I understand, sir. Thank you. Or we're not methods either we have opinions on things. But I do admire your open-mindedness as a Catholic because what ten fifteen twenty years ago, you'd never hear a Catholic say, I'm okay with gay marriage, seventy seven five seven nine one hundred five Andrew, okay or not, okay. To take away a Methodist church from pastor who performed a gay marriage. Well, my friends call me true. First and foremost second, it is not okay. Your your friends might call through. But your name is an all. I guess you're right. You're a hundred percent certificate hatchet, man. I appreciate that. I appreciate open-mindedness. There is an okay. To take the guy's church way. It's not okay. Religion has evolved through the times where things that they're doing in their own churches today, probably wouldn't have been acceptable twenty thirty forty years ago. So I think the whole thing's ridiculous. I agree. Thank you. You know, I'm anti organized religion. Because I think it does a lot of damage I think the mentality, and I think the exploitatation does a lot of damage to people that said, I will never stand between a person and their personal relationship with God, Christ Buddha, Allah, whatever, that's if you want to believe in that. And that gives you purpose and brings you solace. Awesome. I think that's great for you. It gives organized religion horrible image and reputation to still in two thousand nineteen go so far over the line to show that you are not okay with gay people loving each other. It's love it doesn't affect your life. You don't have to get it. But just like you are born into women. They were born into men the same attraction that you might feel for a hot ask role when she walks by guess what they feel for a hottest dude when he walks by you don't have to like that. You just have to accept the fact that there are people like that. And they are worthy of love and they deserve to be married. Like everybody could ultimately changed. Somebody's mind if there against gay marriage, and they believe the bible on what's in there. What other than having? Maybe a gay family member. Something what what's it? What's going to change? How I don't feel like anything's going to change how they feel gay family members. Like only when it presents itself in your family. Will it will it take the? The necessary steps to open up your mind to go my God or a really good friend. Maybe like like a guy you knew for twenty years, and he comes out to you one day and goes, hey, man, listen, I had something on my mind. I want to tell you about I'm gay because that forced you to go cheese. Disguise just he's just like everybody else. Seventy seven five seven nine one zero to five I think it's kind of like I said, it's only gonna take time because these new forward thinking minds within you know, whatever church. It may be eventually those are going to be the leaders in. It's going to take time for them to get into a place to then be able to share with other people. You know that love is love right now. It's it's still the old school mentality. Working its way out like I when I see stories like this like it's just to me. It's just this weird. Phase we're in between this sect of people being dead. Because once they are people are going to start being more open minded in reality, no doubt. And I hate to keep taking it to a racial analogy. But it's really one of the only playgrounds I can play in before Jackie Robinson came along. Major league baseball was lily white. It took Jackie Robinson to break down some doors with alpha branch, branch Rickey and the Brooklyn Dodgers. Maybe this guy wants to be the Jackie Robinson. If you will of gay marriage in church. You know, maybe he wants to knock down the Methodist while ago. Hey, guess what? Okay. I am. I am putting I'm drawing this line in the sand. I'm performing a gay marriage. Even though my church forbids it as this as easy pastor. Yeah. Okay. If they decide to kick this pastor out I wrote about hot pastor free agents. But I mean, this guy's Bryce Harper. Manny Machado, people are gonna want this guy. Andy Oliver is looking at a huge pay day. I'm sure he doesn't do it for the money. But he's looking at he's a very coveted free agent. Pastor if the Methodist, let him go, I I would even say the the Jewish faith has got a look at this guy. A potential rabbi to bring this guy in if he's willing to convert the I'm just saying he would be a hell of a rabbi listen to him. I mean, if he knows the songs Bim Bom, bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. I mean, get with it. They're not hard to learn where bomb bam. Bam. Bam. It did it that you bought today. No, it's fine. We don't need to go into a whole thing along just as long as he knows. It will welcome in. Where does the Jewish faith as a whole stand on gay marriage? I mean, it's it's the same thing. Like in a weird place right now. I mean, it's it's tough. I dunno overall. Because the thing is I don't really go by overall. What my religion? How my religion feels about it. I'm okay with it. I embrace it. So I think they welcome in at least where I go didn't the pope recently, the newest pub-, the cool pope if you will come out recently and say that that gay isn't that bad or? I think it was something along the lines of love is love. And I think I think that's you know, we're just going.
