Tyler Bowyer Discusses Turning Point Action’s Rally with Ron DeSantis
"Boyers here who runs turning point action, Tyler, welcome back. Hey Charlie, how are you doing? We're doing great and got a big weekend ahead. Oh, huge weekend. Tell us about it. We have governor Ron DeSantis making his first stop outside of the state of Florida. Here with us at turning point action in Arizona. And so Ron is has been kind enough. We ground him backstage. We're like, hey, we need you in Arizona as soon as this primaries over. Yep. He's like, heck yes, you bet I'll come out and he's coming. And it's going to be one of the largest political events I think in Arizona this year. We already have thousands upon thousands of people we had to move to the largest venue. Theater venue that we could find, which is where we hosted Trump last year for our event, pretty historically. It's huge. It was huge. And that's what really set the tone for the Arizona race last year anyways. And so we're really excited governor desantis is going to be with the great Kerry Lake. The inspirational Blake masters and then we're going to be focusing on all our big W's, which Arizona had a ton of wins, legislatively. Yep. And so Warren Peterson, who is in the state Senate, he's awesome, one of the greatest conservatives is going to be shouting out a lot of those wins for us. And so you want to be there. It's historic. You're not going to want to miss this. It really, it's akin to the Trump rally that we hosted in 2015, I think. Which is a big turning point in Arizona history where we're actually taking back conservative ground

Meghan McCain Calls MAGA Conservatives 'Neanderthals'
"So here's misses Dominick. I want to read to you what she wrote on her Twitter account. Hell of a strategy to whatever the majority voting hell of a strategy to win over the majority voting block of Arizona independence in a general election. Now, she would have stopped there, that would have been fine. It was a valid point. She's talking about, we've got to unite the Republicans in Arizona, right? Then she turns around and she does exactly what she's accusing Carrie Lake of doing. Here's what misses Dominic Meghan McCain said. I know she thinks she's governor already. But you have to win over more people than just cpac, maga Neanderthals to actually win a general election. So misses Dominic pulled a Hillary Clinton, you know, the basket of irredeemable deplorables. And she calls all of you people out there, all you conservatives maga Neanderthals. Now I just want to say something. It's offensive that she would call call people like you and me. Those kinds of words. But I'm not surprised, because she's a nasty person. Her father was a nasty man. Yes, I know. We're not talking about his wartime service. We're talking about his political service. I honor everyone who serves in our military. But that doesn't give John McCain a pass for all of the things he said and did to hurt conservatives. And so I pointed out, she was talking about strategy. And I just asked Meghan McCain, what was her strategy? What was her daddy's strategy? When he betrayed Republicans and conservatives on the ObamaCare repeal. And she blocked me. She didn't even have the guts. She didn't have the courage to even answer the question. It wasn't
So What Has Meghan McCain Actually Done?
"McCain is a very mean, very unhappy, very mean spirited person, and I knew this working I didn't work directly with her at Fox, but I heard the stories. It's just not she's not a very pleasant person. And that comes across on TV. You saw that. Remember when remember when she was on what the view with the squawking magpies? She's not a very sympathetic character. And the reason why is, what is she done? Aside from being the offspring of the late senator John McCain, what has she done? I don't think she's done that much. She got married to Ben Dominique, who is the, what the founder of the federalist or one of those conservative things. And I got a lot of blowback because I called her in my peace grace maker. I called her misses dominance. I didn't call her mega McCain. I was just trying to be polite and cordial. Oof. Misses Dominic. So anyway, you have Carrie Lake and she's out there saying that she put a stake through the heart of the McCain machine. What is she talking about there? Well, she's talking about the establishment. She's talking about these establishment Republicans, who hate conservatives, and every time they get elected, they turn their backs on conservatives. But they embrace conservatives during the election cycle because the establishment guys can't get elected without our votes. That's what Kerry Lake was trying to say.
Kari Lake Calls In to Discuss the Election Insanity
"Delighted to have her on the show, Carrie Lake. Thank you for dialing in. Hi, Sebastian. It's good to be with you. How are things going? I don't care how things are going for me. I want to know how things are going for you. I know you're on your way to cpac. What is happening in Arizona? I congratulated you via text. The day ago, I'm seeing amazing celebrations and what more ballot dumps tell us it's not true. Well, I mean, it's exactly what I've been talking about from day one on the campaign trail that we have to reform our elections. And this is not a Republican thing or a Democrat thing. It's an American thing. Do we want to have our sacred vote, a sales like this? Let me just interrupt you. My producer, Jeff asked the question, this is a primary. How can they not count the ballots in the day of the primary? Well, they counted. We waited all day yesterday. They said we're going to have a lot more counter. We have over a 100,000 accounts. They came out at the end of the day and they'd only counted 5000. I mean, I think I could have counted more than that. So it's just, we're the laughing stock. And it's going to change. And it's going to change. We the people demand elections that aren't this confusing that aren't this drawn out. We should be able to have results election night. And people can go to bed and they can live with the outcome because they know it was fair. And right now we don't. I mean,
Sen. Marsha Blackburn Discusses Widespread FBI Corruption
"Few days, you've seen reports of more than one whistleblower from inside the FBI and the DoJ. I'm confessing to the fact that conservatives are being targeted inside the bureau and outside the bureau, how worried should the average citizen be that these agencies have now become enforcement arms of the Democrat party in the Biden administration? Well, what you have to look at is as I told him today when I opened my remarks, Tennessee has come to me all the time. And they feel like there's two systems of justice, two different tiers. And the FBI will go after parents who show up to the school board meeting. And if you listen to the testimony and the response he gave us today, you will notice he didn't always use the term investigate. They like to say they are not investigating parents. What he did use was to talk about auditing assessing and then investigating. So it appears that they are net can be cast wider if they're auditing or assessing an individual or a situation without opening a full investigation. So these are all things that we were supposed to have him for two grams of questioning. We ended up just having one round of questioning because he said he had a plane to catch. So we're having to submit for answers and get those answers in writing.
What Is the FBI Hiding? Sen. Marsha Blackburn Weighs In
"Delighted to welcome for our first guest, senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, welcome senator. It is good to be with you, thanks for having me on. So much to discuss with you, but I have to first congratulate you on what you did there. You brought the heat to the director of the FBI, Christopher wray. Now that you're off the floor of the Senate, your reaction to the fact that the current director of the largest federal law enforcement agency in America refuses to call the Russia hoax what it is and will not call the laptop from hell an actual laptop from hell, your reaction. Well, we should have expected this. You know, I thought he would at least admit that it was an untruth when you look at this Russia hoax, but instead of being able to say yes or no, money was wasted, there was nothing to it. The FBI was in on the joke. What he wanted to do was quibble about the meaning of the word hoax and the definition of the word hoax. And I think they're trying to redefine everything,
The Maga Movement Is Bigger Than Trump
"Carrie Lake dominated in the state of Arizona. They finally called the race, I believe they called it last night, Carrie Lake won every single county in Arizona. Every single county. That should tell you something, ladies and gentlemen, people don't want to admit it. The maga movement is bigger than Trump. Trump just spearheaded it. It's bigger than Trump. I need people to get on board. Don't be delusional about it. This is not a Trump movement. It's the fact that Trump started saying we need to get our country back. We need to focus on American jobs. These other politicians are working in the best interests of themselves and others. They're not working in the best interests of the people.
Established Republicans Want MAGA Candidates to Lose
"The establishment Republicans, do you know what success looks like for them right now? They want the maga candidates to lose in November to say, I told you so, you should have nominated people like Mitt Romney. They would love nothing more than to see Blake masters lose, JD Vance lews, Carrie Lake lose. They would love that. It will vindicate them. They'll feel good about themselves. And guess what? They're going to do whatever it takes to help make that happen. But now we need all hands on deck everybody. That means tuning into this program, tuning into war room with Bannon. That means knocking on doors, registering voters, giving the money that you can. We can not outsource our activism because guess what, the traditional Republican establishment infrastructure is going to sit this one out. In fact, they might actively help some of the Democrats.
Harnessing the Return of 2016 MAGA Energy
"Want to start with where we're at. Carrie Lake has won the Arizona primary for governor. Maga candidates across the country are winning their primaries. This Republican Party is a grassroots party, ready to fight, ready to govern, ready to improve people's lives, ready to put their citizens first, but the pressure is now going to be on. And as we warned early in the week, the midterm elections are all but a certain thing. Democrats are adjusting. Democrats are going to outspend us, they control the media. They control social media, they control our election system, and they are going to be willing to cut corners at every single turn to try to get their preferred candidates across the finish line. The generic ballot is tightening, the generic congressional vote, according to Rasmussen reports, Republicans only lead by three points. Whereas a couple months ago, Republicans led by 15 points. We're seeing one race in particular that we endorsed in Washington, Joe Kent is only down by 1.8 points with lots of ballots still to be counted. Again, Kerry Lake Blake masters, all one in Arizona. However, as we look towards the midterms, Republicans only have a .1 lead if you average all of the generic ballot polls, a .1 point lead barely taking back the House of Representatives. Barely. And the U.S. Senate is a complete coin toss. It shouldn't be that way with inflation open borders, CRT woke as an anti americanism, war on American energy, it should be a complete blowout. Now some of these polls might be suppression polls and misrepresentations. You can usually add 5 or 6 to all these polls that's usually a good rule of thumb. But make no mistake. Democrats, they know they're going to lose, but their strategy right now is a very smart one. That's right. I'm saying the Democrats are using a smart strategy. They're basically saying we want to lose less. They know that midterms can be very hard. Joe Biden is deeply unpopular and Republicans will be outspent. At every corner. Now
Big Wins Across State Primaries This Week
"Had Kansas and Missouri Arkansas having battles, Missouri. We saw Eric Schmidt, the attorney general over there when the nomination in the battle of Eric's Donald Trump chiming in with an endorsement of Eric with two candidates having the same first name, Eric Schmidt ended up getting the win and will face off to try and make sure the Missouri Senate race stays in Republican hands and then down in Arizona. Carrie Lake finally gets the final nod that she's the winner in Arizona. Maricopa County, Phoenix that screwed up the 2020 election has done no progress in getting any further along at being able to actually count votes and get through an election process. You know, you've got other countries where they can literally hand count ballots and they can do it in 24 hours. Maricopa County can't even get it done in a few days and they had chaos, they had confusion, like we saw in 2020, despite all the denials that there was any election problems in Arizona that it didn't get stolen from Trump, but a big week there, and then in Tennessee, where we're broadcasting from in Memphis, Andy ogles wins the Republican primary in the Tennessee 5th congressional district. Last night, as Republicans redrew that district in Tennessee, it's been a 9 congressional district state for a while. Traditionally, you've had 7 Republicans to Democrats in recent years. Well, with redistricting, Republicans redrew the lines in Nashville, dividing Nashville up, adding some of the suburban counties to it. And for the first time for the first time since reconstruction, the Civil War, Republicans have an actual shot to pick up Nashville and probably do that new district is about a 12 plus Republican district Donald Trump carried it by over a dozen points,
Tom Tradup: Gov. DeSantis, Gov. Noem Are Missed at CPAC
"Tom, what are people saying about Ron DeSantis? 'cause it seems odd to me, although maybe he was so busy suspending the radical activist prosecutor here the state attorney, he had his hands full in Florida, but what are they saying about him not being there? I think a lot of people are disappointed he's not here. They'd like to see him here. They'd like to see Christie nome, the governor of South Dakota. But the organizers here at cpac made a decision. Got it. Not to invite them. And you can't just show up again. I'm speaking.
Tom Tradup: First-Time CPAC Visitor Shares Concerns in Canada
"I just had breakfast this morning with a guy sat down with me at my table for you mind if I sit here and completely sit down. His name is Brent Larson. He lives in Oklahoma, but he's originally from Canada and he had a T-shirt that said fight communism. Okay, tell me your story. And he said, you know, because of the truckers strike and the way that in Canada, if you were to say on the radio, that marriage is between one man and one woman, you can get arrested. I mean, he said Canada is really becoming more and more like a communist state and he emigrated to America and he's here at cpac. It's the first time and I think that's the spirit here in Dallas. There really got people pumped up.
Tom Tradup: Trending Events at CPAC
"Harry, what's your title? I suppose it'll be a vice president of news and talk programming, but here at cpac, I'm best known as the only person in the entire convention that does not have either pants or a shirt or both made out of an American flag. Well, come on, get one, get with the program. Where's your flag? No, I feel naked here. It's unbelievable. You told me. You texted me today. Two things that just cracked me up. First of all, you said, you don't want to miss Marjorie Taylor Greene's session. It's called I'll take my committee back, please. And then you said that there's a, I guess, a session called the invasion with both Myra Flores and Carrie Lake. Is that true? That's right. Yep, Carrie Lake is flying in right after her victory in Arizona yesterday. In the GOP primary and she and Myra Flores who you've had on the show before Mike and you know very well from the Rio Grande valley, they are going to have this place exploding today. But it doesn't take much. I mean, Mike lindell is making a speech, Rick Scott, the U.S. senator from Florida has got a plan to rescue America. He's going to reveal JD Vance is here from Ohio that he's going to be talking about the rise of the hillbilly, which would be him. And then tonight, our mutual friend Larry O'Connor is hosting the annual cattlemen's ball here in Dallas at cpac and the guest speaker is Steve Bannon.
Caller: Cheney Is Wrong; The American People Decide to Vote in Trump
"Totally right. It's not Trump. It's us. Trump just leads the parade. See, that's my point. That's my point. I mean, doesn't Dick Cheney get that? How do they not realize that? Donald Trump isn't prince Andrew. He can't just fill up or whatever. He can't just say I'm gonna be the prince. I'm gonna be the king. We decide that. We're the boss. If Trump or the Republicans get back in, they're not going to be able to play their games like they're playing with that inflation fight everything now where they sneak in these little things. You know, they got lost that your parents have to be thrilled for 7 years before they can go in a nursing home. That means you. I mean, who makes those laws? I know, I know. I know, but it's not, like I said, it's not, at the end of the day I don't think that Liz Cheney's dad is going to rescue her next week.
Matt Vespa: The Republican Base Changed, Cheney Opted Not To
"Matt Vespa writes. The Republican base changed, Cheney opted not to, so August is where she'll end her career. Matt Vespa writes, does this at town hall? Does this family not comprehend that their time is over? And no Donald Trump isn't the greatest threat our republic ever faced is historical illiteracy and other affliction impacting the Cheney clan? If Liz ventured back to her state once in a while, she'd know that her voters can't stand her. Liz Liz Cheney isn't going to stop Trump from another run at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue because her little kangaroo court select committee can't find anything that warns a criminal indictment. Second, she's going to lose her primary. Wyoming conservatives had enough of her anti Trump shenanigans. We have a strong candidate in Harriet hagman. Liz's days are numbered, and this cringe worthy ad from Dick Cheney might have cost her votes.
Twitter Unleashes Criticism on Dick Cheney Following Ad Spot
"And as media writes, the blue check mark crowd in Twitter, people from all political backgrounds, unleashed a torrent of criticism against him. His infamous 2006 hunting accident where he shot a guy in the face was prominent in the minds of many, one blue checkmark said, fun fact, Dick Cheney is also a liar. He's a murderer who killed hundreds of thousands of people for oil and defense contracts F him F his wretched daughter and F Trump they can all rot in hell. Dan Caldwell tweeted Dick Cheney as VP was the chief advocate of the disastrous war in Iraq that killed up to a million people. He should have no standing to accuse anyone of being a threat to our republic. Dick Cheney looks ready to shoot Trump in the face with a mother load of birdshot. The thing I thought about when I saw the video was the hit TV series Yellowstone. It's like Yellowstone season 5. Starring Dick Cheney.

And then there's just this little jewel of a blue Lake surrounded by these high cliffs and it's really quite spectacular. This is George cling. He is a Lake expert at the University of Michigan. But way back in 1985, he was just a grad student, traveling around Cameroon, and studying their local lakes. He remembers meeting a townsperson in the village of lower neos, named mister Lucas, whose two sons led him to the Lake nearby. Lake nios and a finger pointing that way. And children would guide people up to the Lake and show them they'd take pictures and then come down and write their reflections in a guidebook. The Lake before was this beautiful clear blue Lake, very pretty kind of like Crater Lake in Oregon. George went to the shore of Lake nyos took some water samples and signed the guidebook. Then he continued on with his travels. Fast forward one year later and George was back at school. When he heard the news about the mysterious disaster at Lake neos. I found out about the disaster when the U.S. State Department contacted my adviser and he told me that they were putting together a scientific response team to the disaster. They pulled together experts in gas in chemistry in geology. And then there was George, the Lake expert, or limnologist. The State Department knew George had been to lag neos before, and they wanted his knowledge of the site. So less than two weeks after the disaster George arrived back at Lake nyos. And everything was different from the way it had been the year before. The situation when we first got to was very eerie. Because it was tremendously quiet. The people who had lived close to the Lake, in fact, up to 16 miles away from the Lake in the river valleys, people were killed. So there was no activity around. Some people who are living above the Lake in the mountains had survived. But in the lower lying areas, the loss of life was absolutely staggering. And for George, that included the people he'd met on his first trip. The two boys that took us up mister Lucas sons who guided us up to the Lake the first time we went that village was all destroyed as well. That was very sad to see that those people were gone. And it wasn't just human beings who had died. The bodies of cattle and goats were littered around the Lake. And the sounds of even the birds and insects were gone. Even the Lake itself wasn't the same. It was very muddy and brownish with floating mats of vegetation on the surface. And when the.

"It's a matter of obedience. It's a matter of recognizing that no matter how badly that person has offended me because of the grace and the forgiveness for which i have been forgiven see. i'm the first servant in the parable that jesus talked about with the king and the servant who owed fifty lifetimes worth of debt. I'm that person. And whatever that other person has done to me is small in comparison. And so i am required to forgive. So that's all about the wounds that we experience on account of one another some through which we have relationships. We want to reconcile others that we don't but what about the wounds not caused by other people. What about the wounds that we experience in life where. There's no one to forgive because there's no one to blame anybody got some of those. Those are the kinds of wounds for which it seems. No one is particularly responsible. And yet i have gone through this thing. I have suffered this loss. I am grieving and mourning this loss in my life. There's nobody to blame. it's just it's just is what do i do about those wounds. I think it's absolutely essential in those moments to understand what and who wants to be in our lives. The salma says in psalm. One forty seven verse three key. That is god heals. The broken hearted any binds up their wounds word. Broken hearted has the connotation of a heart. That's been dashed to pieces. They heart that has exploded. If you've experienced some particular thing in your life for your heart has been shattered into pieces and left in the dust and you feel like there's nothing left to work with it. Is there that you must find in god. One who binds the wombs and who heals the broken hearted isaiah prophesied an isaiah sixty one verse one. And jesus actually quoted this in reference to himself. This is a messianic prophecy. Speaking of part of why. Jesus came into this world. He said the spirit of the lord god is upon me and he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted that is the function that jesus accomplishes as our savior as our lord as one who has the bible describes him sticks closer than a brother. One that who never leaves us or forsake us..

"Tells us to do. Go and tell him his fault. If your brother sins against you go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. That's what jesus was. Prescription is for us to seek reconciliation with each other when somebody sends against you you go to that person alone in and you tell the person his fault if he listens to you. Jesus says you have gained your brother but if he does not listen so jesus precedes onto like well listen. Sometimes it doesn't work right. You ever tried to make reconciliation with another person and it didn't work it didn't take jesus says you proceed onto this next step. And that is that if he does not listen to you. Take one or two others along with you. That every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. So now jesus instructs us to take two or three people who have a vested interest in this relationship not your best friends who also hate that other person right. Who's offended you right. That's what we wanna do right. Like i don't want to take it with me for this conversation about two or three people who have a vested interest in the reconciliation of that relationship as much as you and that other person to take them with you and grace and in love. Have this conversation again. Hopefully the outcome is positive and reconciliation can be made. But jesus goes on if he refuses to listen to them. Well then you call the church. You leave a voicemail. For sharon and she will. She will make sure that it gets to the right people right now. If he refuses to listen to them you tell it to the church and if he refuses to listen even to the church let him be to you as a gentile and a tax collector that is essentially disregard this relationship and just understanding that its current state is one of broken nece like sometimes. Our relationships are just that a wound is created. Reconciliation is sought but not accomplished. Jesus says treat that person as you would gentile in the tax code now. Jesus of course is talking about the context of what we find ourselves in. Let's say those of you that consider yourselves a part of this community. Faith we are just that we regard one another as brothers and sisters. And that's why jesus uses the language here because there is a familial relationship that we have with each other if we are part of god's family whether you like it or not. Hey let's be real. You have some blood relatives. You don't like all that much. You might have some relatives in church. You don't like all that much as well but you still gotta love right so this is how we deal with relationships in the context of such relationships as ken be restored and reconciled. Now jesus points out. I think here that there are steps to this reconciliation process i. He says go and tell him or her his fault. Wait a minute. Do you mean i'm not supposed to get on my computer and log in facebook and cryptically describe something that has or has not transpired in my life..

"Sound right right like something. Something is proposed as truth or propose to you as this is how it is and you're like that doesn't settle. Well that just. I mean i. I haven't i haven't done the work. Know this person like they sound like an expert. They sound like they know what they're talking about work. They're speaking from their own experience. So reminded judged. What am i to say right. That's what we find ourselves often times. That's one of the difficulties about this whole judging business anyway. Listen one of the tactics. That i think are used to try to actually get people to just like buzz. Off is silence them right. That's one of the tactics. When the argument perhaps is not quite sufficient. We can always revert to well. My truth is my truth. Right or experience is my experience. My understanding of things is i understanding of get people. We live in a free country. And everybody's free to think and do whatever they want. I love that. It's one of my favorite things about the united states of america is that i am technically supposed to be allowed to think and feel for myself without being afraid that everybody's going to cancel me. Because i have an opinion. That's different from the rest of pop culture. Perhaps i get that. World is shrinking very very quickly. But that's the way it's supposed to be like we. We're supposed to be free to dialogue and yet what we oftentimes want to do when it comes to so many issues as well. Let's just shut up the opposition. I couldn't help but think about like how this kind of surfaces in among the pro choice circles in the issue of abortion. You read signs that say things like. Hey don't force your abortion views on my body right so you have these. Two sides making their cases. One you know making the case for unborn life one making the case for a woman's choice right and so we have all this kind of back and forth right. We have all this. We have all these very very hot very hot feelings. About how to view this particular issue right but pro-choice side most notably like one of the things they want to do is say. Hey this is my body so it's none of your business. Well i get that but does that mean that the dialogue is for supposed to end. Is that just supposed to shut up the other side. My body my choice. You have no right to say or to speak into any of. This is hard for me to say. Because i fall in the category but i mean i personally fine a little annoying one of the attacks that we we experienced that i experienced in the world today. You know that. I'm a white male. And so i'm not supposed to have an opinion on anything i how am i supposed to know how another person feels. How am i supposed to know what another person is going through. And i get that. There's a lot of truth to the reality that i don't actually have personal experiences. So many things that other people feel like i said you know everybody. Experience the world differently but as far as the world concerned today. I'm just supposed to shut my mouth..

Hey let's be honest you will never ever get the beam out so that you can adequately come alongside that other person and build up and work with that person regarding their stuff. I don't think that's what he's saying. I think what he's saying is that there's a requirement that we have a different posture when it comes to how we performed judgment. Listen we all do it. We all judge for it's a fallacy to say that none of us should judge right. The person that says none of us should judge has made a judgment that none of us should judge like it is a self-defeating argument. It doesn't work in logic or philosophy certainly doesn't work in real life. so how do we do judgment properly. Well i think what jesus is essentially saying here is hey put your own oxygen mask on first ever find an airplane. What did they tell you when the oxygen masks fall down now you put yours on and you mind your own business right now. That's not what they say. Neither do they say you know. Make sure you help somebody else before you help yourself right because you're going to be dead and therefore no good to anybody. So what do we do with the oxygen masks. We put ours on first and then we move on to the person who needs help and the same goes when it comes to judgement. Judgement is not supposed to be harsh. It is not supposed to be destructive. It is not supposed to be critical for the purpose of putting that person down and thereby elevating myself. But it doesn't mean that judgment doesn't happen. What's forbidden here is passing judgment on another person from a place of superiority. That is that. I stand up here and therefore position to pass judgment on you. My life is more put together than yours. And so therefore i can pass judgement on you. I less evil than you are. And so therefore i can pass judgment on you know. The posture is entirely turned up side down. And what's required in our judgment. Is that we judge from a posture of humility an understanding of our own broken us and understanding of the the junk that we ourselves own junk that maybe nobody else even knows about stuff that we be embarrassed to put up on the big screen here in front of everybody for them to see so when our stuff is hidden and when our weaknesses are not front and center like the weakness is the sin of another person that seem so front and center. We have to be so so so careful.

"Internalize for ourselves as we try to determine like what does it mean for me to judge righteously verse three. Jesus says why. Do you see the spec that is in. Your brother's is so now. He starts to illustrate the point and point out the the weird kind of fallacy. That comes in the way in which we oftentimes judge each other. Why do you see the speck right this little fragment of a thing call it a splinter you know tiny piece of wood now we all know you get something in your eye no matter how small it is it is right and you've gotta get out of there because it's actually irritating your eye until you get rid of it and jesus says you see you see the spec in your brother's eye but do not notice the log that is in your own eye. Jesus was making this comparison between what we see in other people and what we failed to see in ourselves. That is that we see the very small thing right. The wood chip the splinter the spec. We see that but we don't even notice the beam and we use the word. Being here is talking about a piece of lumber that is used in a load bearing assignment for a building like the main beams that hold up a structure that hold up if he says. This is what you've going on in you. You don't even notice it but you see very clearly this little spec in the eye of your brother. How many of you know that when it comes to our perception of things are perception is often selective right. We see so easily so readily and other people what we failed to see in ourselves. Maybe because it's not a one for one kind of thing but you find jesus again and again throughout his teaching constantly raising some issue and saying hey listen this is how you feel about this particular thing and yet look you're completely way off base way off track in this other thing that is essentially the same thing right and he says that's hypocrisy now oftentimes when we look and we.

"Good morning to you all. You may have a see if you'd like you can remain standing if you'd like as well might be awkward but hey we're all about a here. Curtis lake church Those of you feel free to take a seat as well. Maybe you know the people at home are going to do whatever they want. Most of them are wearing clothes right now. So but thank you. Thank you for for for changing out of your pajamas into your regular clothes. So we're going to get right into it this morning up. How do you wanna do. You want to see jesus having a temper tantrum. Anybody know all right. Well then go. Home i mean that's that's what we're doing today now. This is like if you are. If you're making kind of a video series of the life of jesus like we've been talking about over the last couple of months now the about the life and the teaching. Jesus has told to us through the gospel of luke and today. We're gonna come to one of those occasions where like if you're watching this series if you're watching the movie this is the part that you really really like. There's been over the course of jesus's interaction with his people especially with the religious especially with the overly righteous there have been some cringe worthy moments. But today we're going to see. Jesus just lose it. It's gonna just lose it and there's something about this part of jesus. I think that makes him a little easier for us. Identify with right. I mean when jesus is healing the blind and raising the dead. It's like wow. That's that's those are great stories but have you ever flipped out before. Have you ever had just kind of things. Come to this place where you couldn't take it anymore and you acted out well. Jesus is going to do that today. So we'll get to that luke chapter nineteen if you have your bibles you can turn their. We'll have the versus up on the screen as well but what we're ultimately getting to is now. Jesus is a rival into jerusalem. He's making his final voyage into the city where he was ultimately going to be crucified. Right and so as we near easter we tend to kind of look at the story of jesus and the week of passion that he had in the city of jerusalem prior to his crucifixion. And there's this moment where jesus enters into the city that we have labeled the triumphal entry which of course has always been an interesting sort of title for that because of the way in which jesus actually came into jerusalem was not all that triumphal he came in a pretty modest manner of course the crowds they gathered and they took palm branches and they waved and they celebrated and they they looked with joy to what jesus represented and what they thought what they perceive ultimately going to do within their city and within their country but there was no real triumph. Yet at this point right in certainly the triumph the ultimate triumph jesus was wholly misunderstood by here In the gospel of luke. We get this little story. That doesn't show up in any of the other gospel accounts. And so we're going to look at that and then immediately followed by jesus going into the temple and throwing over the tables and the money changers driving out. Those were who were involved in commerce within within the house of god right but prior to that as jesus is coming upon the the border of the city this is what it says in luke chapter nineteen starting in verse forty one when he drew near and saw the city. He wept.

"I love the declaration of that song. I think that's a great way for us to go into the word of god this morning declaring this living hope. I'm really glad that were in the business of providing. Hope you know there's a lot of things out there in the world that would presume to promise hope to people right but we have many of us discovered why is the true source of our hope and that is the hope that we have in jesus amen. How's everybody doing good good to see you all out here. Thank you to those of you. Who are joining us online as well so glad to have you all part of this experience today if you have your bibles you can turn to luke chapter nine. We're going to read chapter nine versus twenty eight to thirty six together this morning. If you're new to curtis lake or if this is the first time you've been with us for a long time. We have been journeying through the gospel of luke and trying to understand better. His presentation of jesus's life. Many of you are aware that there are multiple gospel accounts of jesus's life. There's matthew mark luke and john and we are specifically looking at luke has to say as he tried his best to describe the historical events surrounding jesus life today. We're going to look at one. Such event that i think that many of us who have read through the bible a number of times probably have a tendency to just kind of gloss over. I don't know why it seems that. I feel like a lot of times especially in this series that for those passages of scripture that we have a tendency to gloss over the down. I wanna park here for a little bit to try to understand. Maybe the deeper meaning of what's supposed to be being communicated to us many of you know that was a long time ago. We of organized the weeks leading up to into the series and there are a couple of messages that i was especially a little squeamish about one was early on when we talked about angels as i confessed to the church at that time it never preached the message on angels before angels aren't particularly all that interesting to me and so it's like our is supposed to say about angels but you can't really get around the birth narrative of christ in the early parts of luke without just seeing all this activity surrounding angels. So we we made the decision to kind of camp there for a little bit. This is another one of those stories. This is the story that if you have a bible that differentiates between sections of scripture. The kind of gives you some headings or to help you understand what's going on there. This is the story involving the transfiguration of jesus jesus's transfiguration as we read this. We're gonna discover that there's this kind of event in jesus's life. It's a little peculiar a little odd yet. It's recorded in matthew. In mark and luke all three of the synoptic gospel writers bring this into the story and their and their elaboration of the life of jesus to us. And so chances are if you see it three times right three gospels. It must be important. So we're going to do our best to kinda dive into the story of jesus's transfiguration. My goal is to help us see what the transfiguration what.

"God living in his forgiveness and in his will for our lives. Just get out of the tub and eventually you dry off right in the cares of this world start creeping in again and start taking over again so john says. Listen even beyond this experience here. This wonderful beautiful sorta spiritually romantic experience of embracing the forgiveness of and going under the water as an illustration of having your sins washed away from you. Listen guess what. Tomorrow's monday right and the stain of this world is going to come back into your life. You're going to walk on the dirty yucky muddy streets of life and your shoes are going to get thirty all over again so listen. This is what i need you to do. Prove by the way you live prove it you say i have repented of my sin and i have turned reoriented myself to god prove it. He says prove that repented of your sins and then he says don't just say to each other. Hey we're safe for. We are descendants of abraham. You see there was this tendency for people within the community of the family of god's it just simply feel like they were taken care of. They actually relied on their ancestral roots. They relied on their ethnic background as a means by which they were covered simply by having the bloodline of jewish ethnicity for many people that was satisfactory because they were the chosen. People of god. And john says hey. Don't be fooled. Don't be fooled into thinking that your mere affiliation with the people of god is somehow enough to protect you from the judgment that is to no. We're talking about something that has to be personal and intentional. If you're going to experience the forgiveness of god and so john is ultimately pointing to them to is fact that repentance is turning toward a better way repentance is not simply doing one eighty. It's not just a matter of you know. Hey i'm going to stop doing bad. Things repentance is not about coming to the place where you have. More satisfactorily followed the rules of what you're supposed to do and not do that is not what repentance is repentance is a reorientation it's less about not doing bad things and it is far far more about turning to a better way it is my embracing the idea that orienting myself toward god is a better way than orienting myself toward something else whether it's the world whether it's some sin whether it's a relationship whether it's the accumulation of things that this world has to offer me whether it's oriented toward my own personal success or fulfilling my own ambitions. John says i have a better way for your life to be oriented toward god. It is a better way. And then as i alluded to before john says even now the axe god's judgement is poised ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes every tree that does not produce good fruit. We'll be chopped down and thrown into the fire. So now crazy john right. He as part of his message of wanting the people of god's embrace the forgiveness of god he points out very very stoic reminder. That is listen. Judgment is real and judgement is coming in fact. It is just on the horizon. How much do we in two thousand. Twenty is stalling. The virtue of god's love right god's love and god's acceptance and god's forgiveness and all of those things are really really really true about god but one of the things that we as a modern society have made. The decision to do is to put off this. Believe in or try to downplay god's judgment and you can't do that. You cannot reconcile what the entirety of god's word and specifically the new testament has to say about our relationship with god and feel like judgment is something that can just be removed. Like you know what. I don't like the sound of judgment and so i'm just gonna put over here and then then i don't have to worry about how i live my life now. John says prove prove that. You have repented and turn to god turn to this better way by the way in which you live because listen. Judgement is coming. And the ax is at the root and for every tree that doesn't produce good fruit down and thrown into the fire. And then luke records the response of the people and you know what for many of them. They had the right response to that message for many of us. Sometimes the idea of judgment starts getting thrown around and just block our ears. We block our hearts that we don't want to deal with that. We don't want to do anything about it. And so we try to dismiss it but many in the crowds that came to john with a real desire to see the move of god at work in their lives. They they had the right response. Luke records at this way. He says the crowds asked. What should we do. What should we do our john. You you give us this message. What what does that mean for us. What should we then do. That's an interesting way in which they pose this right. What should we do. How many of you like when we're talking about sin would love for us to talk about and really kinda general specific terms right and like kind of pile everybody together right and let's let's let's not talk about my sin personally. Let's talk about arson. We're all how many are not perfect. Everybody right that's an easy one isn't it. Charity is perfect. Apparently but everybody else not perfect. Okay and so. We very very comfortable for us to talk about the idea of being forgiven of sin in a very general sense. And that's how this whole story turns out right. They turn from their sin and turn toward god right. That is this association with with with turning our lives around and toward god but the big question is not. What should we do. What should i do what should i. That is a much more sobering for me to ask. I know what we should do. We as a family of curtis lake christian church like we should love god more and we should do more in our community and we should love our neighbors right. I mean i could. I could all day long. We could talk in very general terms what we should do. In fact if i just opened up the floor we passed around the microphone. You guys would all have some really great ideas about what we should do. But what if what if what if we were to take the microphone right. And what if you. What if the question. we're what should i do. How many of you would be.
