"Let's talk about what who you are how you got online and what your favorite platforms are. So let's start there. yes. I'm originally from england. I came to america. Twenty two to get my commercial pilot's license. Because i thought that was how is gonna travel around the world but it turns out when you get you commercial pilot's license. You don't get to go to bali short trip so hang on a second. This isn't quite what i signed up for. But i did my training in long beach and i grew up watching laguna hills on mtv. And i was like one day lauren. Conrad and i'm gonna drive down h. And i'm going to be in my convertible. We're gonna have lunch together. And so. I always have that vision of wanting to live in southern california. I didn't realize that a pilot's license was going to be the thing that got me here. But when i got here i fell in love and i didn't end up becoming a pilot. I got my whole license but came to america on an old one visa and started to go jobs like this. British jackson turns out a lot of british people. Thinking the same thing in la special. But i did go for an audition to be on a youtube channel and that was probably about ten years ago now nine ten years ago and i got the audition and i found out that my one talent in life is talking and working out at the same time. I can do that all day long. So i started working for a channel on youtube. Grew it to like three million subscribers. We eighteen months. I got paid forty dollars per episode but it was just the excitement of being part of youtube and it was workout videos. And i found something that i knew. This was my thing after about a year and a half. They decided they didn't want to film anymore. I didn't understand why no problem and it took me about a year and a half to get my confidence to fill my own channel and have my own videos now. Been doing that for coming on six seven years. I've got my own fitness that we have a pocus. I just had a best selling book and life is great. But it's really been a lot of grit determination and hard work. But now i'm in a place. Where just loving life and just enjoying everything that's happening so talk to us about the. What is the team. Look like to be able to build videos and editing and all that stuff. What does that look like when you when you start when somebody says okay. I want to assemble cheang because nobody talks about the team. The talking about you should do this. Here's the tactics. let's start there. I love that question. And it's so funny because i think it's always something that i'm working on so i do have a team now but when i'm very first study doing youtube and i still have my camera like a souvenir i had one hundred and fifty dollar sony camera setup on a tripod and i would shoot myself and i had the camera and i didn't realize until about six months later that you could flip the camera so that you can actually see yourself so no joke i would get into the show. I would do my jumping. Jacks put my arms in the air go round replay double check that i was in frame and then go back again. Yes you guys were always learning. So there's a war you if you have a flip camera that you can actually build meals but we didn't have fancy iphones back then. So this hundred and fifty dollars. Sony camera and then as i started to get more things coming on i would have insurance and are actually find people of craigslist. That's where i found most of my employees. Because i have much money at the beginning to help so i started to get people who would do things like my cleaning and my laundry so that i could spend time on that so it was like. Where can i navigate my time. Where is it best spent. And what can i delegate to other people with the money that i have like that sits like what do you have and use that phospholipids. Six years of having this company. I now have a full app team. I have somebody that does my emails. I have a chief business officer. I have a video an editor a personal assistant. Somebody puts all the input in the app. And has that runs my social media and mound. My mom is also working for me. So like i have like nine ten people that a part of my team but at the beginning i did everything i edited did. The blogs did the calendar. Absolutely everything and as things got better. I've been able to bring more people on at a different level. So okay she craigslist. So what did you do run on ad on craigslist. Or he just started surfing people on the job descriptions and setting the messages in. How did you know even how to lead them. You know what i mean like. That's like all right now. we're i. This was hilarious. This more. No kidding this is talk about the flip. The camera thing. I had the flip the camera moment this morning. I'm driving down the street. And i own a virtual system company fifty voice. Okay i own want. And i literally. I'm driving down the street. And i'm talking to the woman who is running dot company. 'cause i don't run that company at all. I have one meeting a week. And i don't run the company and i said wait a minute as a as a running strategy for that committed. Why is my company. The other company hardcore business. Why are we looking for social media. People to post are to put my social media. Team is like all of a sudden decide to be trainers and they're all gone right and there's all happened like the last six weeks and so i find myself postings or outdated like eight figure company and i'm back to posting right and i go. Why am i looking for a virtual assistant. Why don't you go find me. Virtual system works. That would be great for this job and so you know sometimes the common sense is in common and you know one of the things i think you probably develop skills on is like Like okay we find them on craigslist or wherever. And how do you get over the hump of not knowing how to lead them or what to ask them to do so for me. I've done everything in my business. So i knew how to set up even the web stuff. I knew how to write a blog. I learned all the skills myself then. I put an ad out honestly. It was for like an intern. Like hey social media person needs how with you know inputting blogs or whatever was the i was doing. I basically wrote my own job description of what i needed. Help with like you need any experience because at the time the people that i was hiring work. Twenty twenty one twenty two. Because i couldn't afford to pay them. You know somebody who was thirty five and had ten years of experience in like managing a team. So i like she learned all the skills myself i would put an ad out and then i would meet them nor at my house but like a nice cafe because it looked better right. So i do these interviews and i have interviewed. I've really got it down. At the beginning. I was interviewing like ten fifteen people a day for two days straight instead of just doing a quick zun things like oh. It's right in front of us. Why don't you just young paul with them because you know in the first i believe ten seconds if this is going to be the right person for you like with. It's just a feeling and for me. It didn't matter about how much experience they had. It was if i liked you and if we connected and if we gelled so like great i like you. You're a cool person. I'm gonna have you come in and then we're going to do an internship so for a couple of weeks just to see if you've got it and you know we're right fit. I'm gonna teach you these skills that i know. Then y'all gonna do it tell. Show tried to tell them what to do. Show them how to do it with them. Let go off and do it themselves and so we just things that i knew to how to teach them and you know this was thanks to a made and things always perfect. But it's better to have people doing eighty percents of you rather than to do absolutely everything because you never be out of scale and you won't be able to

Republicans Push Back On Historic Nomination Of Deb Haaland For Interior Secretary
"And Natural Resource is committee today held confirmation hearings for New Mexico representative Deb Holland to be the next secretary of interior. A confirmation would be historic. She would be the first Native American Cabinet member in the nation's history. Her nomination by President Biden has also been criticized by oil State Republicans because of her stated opposition issues such as to fracking in the Dakota access pipeline. Ecuadorian reports from Fresno. The history being made by Deb Holland's nomination was hailed by all on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, even those who are skeptical of her policy views The special nature of the moment was evident as the New Mexico congresswoman introduced herself to the committee and the nation. I spent summers in the Sita, or small village on Laguna Pueblo, the location of my grandparent's traditional home. It was there that I learned about my culture from my grandmother by watching her cook and by participating in traditional feast days and ceremonies, it was in the cornfields with my grandfather, where I learned the importance of water. And protecting our resource is where I gained a deep respect for the Earth Committee chair, Joe Manchin outlined the immensity of the task. The Interior Department manages 500 million acres of land. 1/5 of the entire country. The 70,000 employees oversee Parks Monuments Wildlife refuge because dams, reservoirs and canals. It also supervisors mineral resource lands that produced 20% of the nation's energy. Citing previous statements Deb Holland had made about fossil fuel production. Wyoming Senator John Barrasso, the committee's ranking member, set the theme which Republican members came back to repeatedly. Oil production in federal lands and oil pipelines, especially the Dakota access pipeline. By signing an executive order to ban all new oil coal gas leases on federal lands. The president is taking a sledgehammer to Western states economies. Ban on federal leasing could result in 33,000 workers losing their jobs in Wyoming. Representative Hollins home state of Wyoming, 62,000 workers stand to lose their jobs. Holland also faced questions over her appearance at protests of the Dakota access pipeline in North Dakota before she was elected to Congress in 2018. Holland said she went there in solidarity with Native American tribes and other water protectors, who felt they were not consulted adequately before the multi state pipeline was approved. President Joe Biden has sense next the project. Conservative
In Situ Community-Based Oak Conservation At The Morton Arboretum
"Suited to do some major impact stuff for a bunch of trees and the main focus of what we were connected over our oaks because the icn just did their assessment or trying to get this out that what is it. Forty one percent of species across the globe are facing extinction or at least of conservation concern. And i just spoke with your colleague dr murphy westwood about a lot of exit. You so taking trees to other places to help conserve them. But you are position in a way that you're doing a lot of the institute the other side of that coin which is also desperately needed. So let's take a closer look at just. What in situ conservation means to you before we look at some of the species. You're working with right. So the global tree conservation program in the morton arboretum. We have a very specific approach to how we try to save threatened tree species. We've i go through prioritizing because unfortunately we cannot save all the sixteen thousand three species on the planet and we wish we could right now but we don't have the money or manpower resources so we need to make some hard choices of what we are going to folks and that is We used a lot the redmi sting which is why you talked about with murphy and the new red list of folks which is one of our target tax on groups was published and my team members did that and so now we have a clear picture of which species need our help the most so then two approaches we can take our well. Try to go and save these species right were they occur and that's go in situ conservation so within their native range but also complement to that. Sometimes we just can't that we were not able to save the species right where they occur. So then we can compliment that with ex situ conservation. Which is what murphy. Also talked a lot about hoochie. You can do see the preservation and you can save species by having specimen symbol. Tammy berea so. My job is to focus on the in situ conservation part so where we do is that we select right now. We have tools as if he projects with two different species off endangered oaks which are coworkers brandy. Ecosystems very scrubby and so these are tree only occurs on by edges obese announced streams. And when you think of a stream or a river you imagine that yes. What but he's he's really funny. I guess share some pictures of you just sad there dry and only when there's hurricanes or weather events then erase a lot there and it feels app and it crashes the mountains a mountain range right there and so all. The rain gets dunked on everything. Floods the roles get destroyed. And then you pass this they rebuild it like with the sand like they have. Ob sands so anyway abc's where these oak grows but the problem is that because it's a very dry ecosystem that is also where the ranchers want to have the ratchets. That's there's water so they put these long hosts. And that's how they watered needle gardens or wetlands. Show there's a conflict between the place where the you know the specific habitat for these species. And where the ranches are and the problem. The ranchers be street because he'd provides shea in

Biden plans to nominate Michael Regan as EPA chief
"On his pledge, his team also announced several New key appointments this week. Who might be influential in getting us there. I'm speaking about yesterday, New Mexico representative Deb Holland was picked for interior. She's both the first native American tap for the job and a big opponent of oil drilling in the Arctic Wildlife Refuge. Good news for the climate goals, right? Yeah, you know, as they say in D. C. The personnel is policy and yes, representative Debbie Holland. A member of the Laguna Pueblo has a track record of opposing, you know, mining and drilling on public lands. You know, the Interior Department is kind of overlooked as an environmental agency. But it has jurisdiction over 20% of land in the U. S. And those lands produce about 1/5 of the country's greenhouse gas emissions. There's a lot of mining and drilling, but she has a track record of opposing a lot of that and supporting Native American rights. And so it's very likely that that will be something that will shake out in the future if she takes over this department. Plus we have the other picks this week of Michael Regan for EPA and Gina McCarthy. Yeah, that's right. Michael Regan is the head of North Carolina's Department of Environmental Quality, and Gina McCarthy herself was the former head of the EPA, and she was brought on board to be a climate adviser and former Michigan governor, Jennifer Granholm was also selected to lead the Department of Energy. That's really interesting picks one last story close to my heart
In Historic Move, Biden To Pick Native American Rep. Haaland As Interior Secretary
"President-elect biden sandy. Wanted his administration to reflect america and two of his nominees to lead his environmental agenda. Appear to support that promise. Michael regan would be the first black man to lead the environmental protection agency. If confirmed by the senate and new mexico congresswoman deb holland is biden's pick for the interior department. She would be the first native american to serve as a cabinet secretary. Npr's nathan rod reports hamas nomination is especially symbolic. The department of the interior is a massive agency responsible for about one fifth of all the land in the united states deals with natural resources and wildlife recreation and national parks. But it's also responsible for the relationship between the federal government and the people. Those lands were taken from or a number of scholars who have done really great work to show how the creation of national parks was predicated on the removal of native peoples katrina phillips as a history professor at macalester college in minnesota. And she's a member of the red cliff band of lake superior ojibway and she says it's fair to say that for most of its history. The interior department has been used as a tool to oppress indigenous people in the us which is why she says she still in shock that deb holland a member of the laguna pueblo. In new mexico has been nominated to lead it to harm someone who understands this history and indigenous sovereignty and land rights and treaty rights is. Just i mean. I'm just i'm so happy right now. It's just hard to believe that this nomination cam through a large coalition of native american tribes along with environmental groups progressive leaders pushed for holland to get the post now just because of the symbolism but because of her experience she's a two-term congresswoman who served on a committee with oversight of interior and she comes from new mexico a fossil fuel dependence state that is trying to transition to renewable energies in an interview with npr before her nomination holland made clear. She'd want the country as a whole to try to do the same. Climate changes the challenge of our lifetime and it's imperative that we invested an equitable renewable energy economy. President elect joe biden has said he wants the country to be carbon neutral by the year twenty fifty and his interior secretary holland would have a big role in shaping that future roughly one quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions in the us come from public lands. She also said she'd restore trust with the interior. Seventy thousand some employees prioritize conserving thirty percent of all us land and water and undo some of the damage that the trump administration has done to our environment. Native americans and other minorities are disproportionately affected by climate change and pollution in dallas goal to founder of the indigenous environmental network says it would be invaluable to have someone in charge of interior. Who understands that but he says the fight is not over. We're not stopping here. Like we celebrate this victory but we as a climate justice movement as an indigenous rights movement are going to continue to push the biden administration to to its promises and to do so in an equitable way nathan. How Native American voters swung the 2020 presidential election
"This election president elect joe biden democratic presidential candidate to win the state of arizona in twenty four years and one group who played a major role in flipping. The state for biden was arizona's native american population. According to high country news counties that included the navajo nation hope tribes and to hana autumn nation. Where some of the key areas that help. The president elect carry the state and in the swing state of wisconsin. Native voters also appeared to have been part of turning that state luke now as president-elect biden prepares to take office organizers and tribal leaders want to make sure he doesn't take their votes for granted the leonard horsemen on chairman of the sukhois amish trod president affiliate tragic north west indians under president obama chairman forstmann was appointed as vice chair of the advisory council on historic preservation. And last month he endorsed the biden harris ticket. Along with more than two hundred other. American indian leaders and biden begins to assemble his cabinet. Chairman foresman has a specific request. Appoint a native american official as the next secretary of the interior. He and shannon hosie president of the stockbridge muncie tribe made their case in a recent opinion piece for reuters. When i spoke to the chairman. I asked him to explain why the department of the interior is so important to native communities. Many of our indian programs of course are housed in the department of interior. Of course the bureau of indian affairs and Many other agencies that affect indian country holding the breeland management the national park service and a lot of this has to do with our Trust resources which are land and water and Cultural resources sake replaces. So it's very important that we have a secretary. Interior that has a A good understanding of any country in our values and traditions. What are some of the main environmental issues. That are most important to indian country and that you think the next secretary of the interior should focus on well in the pacific northwest here. We really really rely on Our treaty resources as we call them or our natural resources. Wildlife salmon traditional plant's clean water. Not only for food but also for medicine and also for our spiritual life and ceremonial life and We feel that A change in leadership at the interior prius back from the last four years of of focus on deregulation and prophets seemed to have come over the importance of protecting habitat and Sacred places and that's been demonstrated in a lot of the activities the administration's engaged in that have Ignored tribal needs and priorities in many parts of the west. One of the people that you suggest could hold. The secretary of interior role is representative deb. Holland of new mexico. Who had on the show before and who is a citizen of the laguna pueblo tribe. Why do you think representative holland would be good for the role while we've known deb hall in a congresswoman now for at least a one term or more and She's demonstrated his Commitment to indian country obviously being a member of laguna pueblo and very close to their traditions and values which are very similar. Many trump's across the nation the importance of place and landscaped. The cultural landscape be importance of our traditions. Our stories our way alive on. It's all connected strongly to respect dean and holding our lands and waters sacred to our survival As an people something very important to us so we really believed that coming for new mexico deb has an understanding of energy policy and also understanding of the importance of environmental and resource protection. So i think she'll be a good candidate for trying to balance those two things in her leadership of the department.
How to take awesome photos while surfing
"Offer for our listeners. So stay tuned after the show to find out more. So. We've all seen these awesome surfing shots and. To get them so well while they're certainly while I've got the original surfer girl she's. Jan Schreiber. The photographer from the beach who also is an awesome surfer and takes Mason surfing shots. So Jan how do you focus on your surfing? While, you're taking pictures on Yudo pro. Yes. So I when I'm searching, there's two different ways that I use. The GOPRO one is on one sir forward I have a little clip on the front of the board guys have all seen that but then that shot is just of me and I don't really need a million shots at myself. Then I also have on that same clip, it's called Bite Mouth Bite Mount, and you you know it's does what you think does he stick the thing in your mouth and you can hold it and you can paddle. The wage really vague I leave it in my mouth and I use my arms to balance, and if I feel like I have a good command of the wave I pull it out of my mouth and point the camera people or wherever I want. And get an amazing video and then from that video I a lot of times we'll just pull stills out. Does it break your focus when I mean it looks to me I'm a novice watch people. But when you've got that wave, it seems to last for five ten seconds if that. If you're focusing on taking the shot while you're trying to keep your balance isn't that rather hard? Yeah. Sometimes, it doesn't work out so well and I you know I wipe out. sometimes I just point the camera and hope for the best Yeah I I like. It doesn't always work, and then sometimes I'm just paddling and catching people as they come and then the wave crashes on me and I'm you know tumbled a bit but That's all the fun. So that's the bite now. But when you put it in a in amount on the surfboard, does that behind you or in front of you? You can put it behind you, but I have it on the front of my board. So generally catches just me. I could turn it around and catch whatever's in front of the word, but I don't generally do that. Most of the photos that I ended up posting I'm usually holding the camera. So like I said I, use that bite mount all the time I mean that thing is awesome. I look like the total door with it in my mouth is big orange thing but I don't really care and. Why not the chest mount because Gopro has something you can just attached to your chest press record and never touch the thing that's true. you could do that but you're laying down on the board I. think that would be kind of awkward and then you would get wax on the Lens. So to me that would be kind of a problem tell us about some of your favorite shots, the gun. Yeah. A couple of weeks ago at it was sunrise and it was just incredible sunrise. As you know, we've had all these fires in the pollution in the sky makes beautiful sunrises sunsets. And it was. It was just an amazing morning where the water was calm. It was we call it classy conditions where there's no wind in the water looks class moving class. And it was just this. Sky And it was just a gorgeous morning and the one of my other favorite places is my little local beach break here Laguna the ocean is so clear exceeded the bottom as you're writing wave and the other day I did catch the wave. Before it broke while I was writing and you could just see down to the bottom. You can see the finish the rocks is just it's an incredible experience, right? Billionaire accused of tormenting neighbor with 'Gilligan's Island' theme song
"So there's a and check you like this story, too, because it's about a guy who's so rich that he really doesn't care about following the rules anymore. He's a 76 year old billionaire investor named Bill Gross. He lives in Laguna Beach, California, and he's been in a battle with his next door neighbor. Another rich guy, 56, year old, very rich, but slightly less rich guy named Mark Topic. Who's a tech entrepreneur now Mark the second guy. Doesn't like the bill put up a 22 ft long blue glass sculpture on his property last year, and he put up pulls and netting to protect it. Now, Mark says, it's blocking my view. So he called the city to complain. You know, it's not blocking his view, You know, He just thinks it's ugly. It is making the whole neighborhood ugly. 22 ft. That's pretty big. Anyways, so he called the city to complain. Bill got his revenge on him. By blasting the Gilligan's Island theme song at all hours of the day s O Every time this guy comes home at full volume, hears this back just flew over and over and over And over this time you even know what Gilligan's Island Is that where that bucket right By the old TV show that was killing old TV show from the sixties. You know, he said in his house waiting for him to pull up in his car. Yeah, Gilligan's Island so guilty he must know something he must know. His neighbour doesn't like to show it to you like the show because it's very maybe Gilligan slept the guy's wife. We don't know it's going to be an inside story of why'd he picked that theme song Lawsuits charges restraining orders have been filed. There's going to be a hearing on the restraining order's harassment charges next week and They think they can do no music until the middle of next month to get the rights for his permit for a sculpture. But until then, way something way more
Thousands of Women to March in Los Angeles, Participate in Other Pre-Election Actions
"Thousands of women have been taking to the streets and Ella Pasadena, Long Beach torrents and Laguna Niguel in a Siri's of pre election marches. They're trying to promote voter registration and other actions aimed at focusing on women's reproductive issues. They're also marching in protest of the Trump administration's efforts to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg before the November 3rd election. Women's March. Executive director Rachel O'Leary, Carmona says it's one of many demonstrations happening across the country this weekend. Those air very diverse as well. "I kind of just want to forget this ever happened. I want to forgive him and I want to forget him wage that's iconic. I think we'll end on that note. I don't think we're going to be able to talk that if people are interested in following whatever you've got going on. Where can people find you. It's Laguna underscore biatch on Instagram on you know, if you search my podcast just Laguna biatch my in my Twitter handle is John Laguna bhi G. And then I also have a YouTube channel where I've uploaded a lot of cast interviews again Laguna Beach. I love it and I highly recommend you check out if you're looking for like some early too early 2000s Nostalgia or just want to like dive back into something that seems so I don't know pure dead. I agree like definitely check it out. Thank you so much for having me. Thanks so much for being here. I had so much fun me to okay, we'll do it again boss time for sure. Thank you again Kelly for joining me on the podcast and thank you so much for listening. Like I said at the beginning of the episode. "I'm trying to think. I've been plenty Petty in my day. I have I even think some of the stuff I did with Shannon was on Petty level. I really do like I got to break the news that she was fired before any news Outlet did that was petty of me. I do I like to think off. But I'm twenty-nine. I'm not as Petty as I used to be but I'll still send out, you know Shady tweet. I'll still text somebody and be like hey, what did you mean when you said or recently? I knew a friend said something about me to another friend. So I texted her and I'm like, you know what I think's really funny. I was just like, you know, I don't know I try to be more direct than like Petty but I'm trying to think maybe not recently, but I know there have been times where I've worked in like retail like back in the day retail to me was like Cutthroat like a sink or swim and Retail and this girl was like hooking up with this guy off and I found out that she also hooked up with his best friend. So I told him Oh my God, I love that. I blame it on being raised on Laguna Beach. Honestly, you're like this is my chance reporter the dramatic T show. Yeah, so I would say like early twenties. All I ever did was be Petty same here. Well, obviously need like I continue to be to this day. I love on your podcast when you talk about yeah how direct you are with some people and yeah, I just feel like you live long like authentically I try really hard. There's still you know, I like talk shit. I'll always talk shit, but I will also say to someone's face if someone was to be like did you say the page like I did and this is why that is amazing. Cuz if anyone ever said this to me, I would deny. I'm surprised and I lie until like it's like it's like gone. Yeah, I I mean I used to and then eventually I just talked too much shit got called out all the time and I'm like, I just have to own it. That's amazing. I feel like maybe like that hasn't happened to me in like many many years. So maybe nowadays I'd be like, yeah because my feelings were hurt or I was feeling shity about myself where I thought you did something mean or whatever. But yeah back in the day I would.

"Yeah blossoming into something special and I can't wait to see what that is. Thank you so much. No worries me a few other questions kind of moving more into the Kristen very Cavallari realm. She's been spotted with a comedian like on dates. Are you surprised that she moved on so fast from her divorce with Jay Cutler? I don't think so. I mean, I think that J and Christian were kind of broken up for a little bit before they even announced it off and she's probably just trying to have some fun, you know, she gets to get a weekend away from her kids and she's in Chicago. She might as well make out with a cute cute comedian wage. Honestly, it reminded me of the old Kristen and it made me so happy single Christian. I feel like she's going to be a lot of fun totally because that's what like what I loved her about her so much in Laguna is that she was so confident and she played all of these guys like Stephen found talynn and yeah, it was just even that guy she made out with that. Yes, so I'm like so excited to see how long this goes because yeah, I I don't know single Christians the best Kristen I'm like she deserves to have some fun. She was married for a long time and money, but let her have some fun. Yeah, and I totally agree with you that the relationship like possibly was was over they had that really dead. Long trip at the beginning of quarantine that weird to me where they were stuck and I don't think they even like stayed together during that trip from everything I've heard. So I'm sure even before that. They maybe they were just trying to have like one last family trip or something. But but yeah, I mean, I think Jay's moving on as well just practice hasn't been caught I should say. Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Do you think they'll both stay in Nashville or do you think they'll move elsewhere? I don't know I think so cuz her uncommon James headquarters is here and I know Jay has a lot of roots and Nashville. I think if they move anywhere would be back in Chicago. Not not L A. I think it would either it'd probably be back in Chicago and if they do move, okay, that's really interesting today. I actually listened to your podcast with Shannon. That's where I am in your your birth. Huge inventory. I do have a lot of episodes so many but it's been so nice to just binge them all through quarantine. Are you still friends? Yeah. We still we're still pretty friendly cool. Yeah, it must be hard obviously to keep in touch with certain people during covid-19. Scooping I'll be honest. I was kind of like feeling myself a little bit. I'm like who like I'm getting all this inside information, but it's also kind of like you're running a fan page for Laguna Beach and Kristen was on Laguna Beach and now you're kind of shiting on her show in like everything about it. So I did not handle that well,.

"It does take away a lot of the magic cuz I think yeah people know what their lives could be. Like if the show is successful and there's just a month. I don't know a clear need for things to go. I don't know their way, maybe yeah. Yeah. I'm I'm sure that's true and I'm probably a little jaded because I do like Lagoon in the Hills so much money, and I'm like, I'm not even going to get into this and it's honestly probably a me issue cuz I know a lot of people love Siesta Key. Yes. Yes, cuz it does have the same Bible. It just seems yeah a lot more polished and the cast is a little bit older their college-age not high school and It's just the same I think fantasy of like living in a beach the small Beach town and having friends and going on like romantic dates and stuff like that that people really suck still watch it for. Yeah. Maybe I'll give it another shot. Maybe I won't be such a hater. Did you ever watch? This is a Canadian question for you because everyone knows I'm Canadian, but did you ever watch the after-show with Dan Levy and Jessi Cruickshank? No, I didn't. What stocked is my whole life. My mom had a strict bedtime for me. Right? So like when when Laguna are the hills was on I could stay up til 10:00 or 10:30 or whatever it ended but not a second later. Like I could not walk even tried to catch an after-show. My mom would just take like the cable box. It would take a cable box to work. So it was like, okay. I'll just go to bed that's song. I love that she went to those lengths and it was the worst punishment should be honest. Yes, I would feel the exact same way because yeah, obviously I I like watching TV and yeah, but no, unfortunately I didn't I've seen clips and I just I wish that I got to watch it when it was on. Yeah, it reminds me a lot of your page because it was really small. Obviously. It was Canadian produced. It was on MTV Canada. So I think even the first couple of Seasons didn't even are in the US and then it just gained such a following and had such a presence that by the end of the hills all of the cast members had been like guests on the show and and they hosted this series finale e r t right they did which is so huge which is what I see for your page with this this Laguna Beach reunion, maybe one day maybe one day but yeah wage It's kind of wild but I'm so happy cuz Dan Levy has had such great success with like schitt's Creek so funny. He's so funny and he's so famous now, but whose Roots were in a a Laguna Beach recap show. That's incredible. That gives me such hope yeah, honestly, honestly, is that where you see your careers like is that. That's of interest to you to be an influencer. No, definitely not influencer. I get, you know influencers people can make fun of them, but I feel like if I had to put myself on my story every day and post pictures with like whatever product that's a lot of work maybe a writer of some sort, but I didn't even expect the page to become as big as it is, and it's still very shocking, but I don't know I guess I just want to see where it takes me off. I think there has to be some kind of opportunity eventually, so I'm not giving up on it just yet. Even though like I said last week there was a point where I was like no, I'm done. I know that's so frustrating but I totally agree that I I see this..

"Like it seemed contrived in both Laguna and the hills as we got like until later Seasons. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I know long they'll they basically the cast members will be like, you know production kind of used seventeen year olds against each other. That's kind of how it worked and birth. In the Hills Lauren wanted to be portrayed a certain way at one point eventually. I think she's like, I'm not filming with Spencer Heidi any more. I kind of want a nicer edit off and it's interesting that producers kind of cave to that. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. I guess that's a really good question. I'd actually like to ask that to like produce some of the things that I think about are just yeah that there's no organic strawberry lines. So they need to make something and then yeah the cast maybe has a realize that you shouldn't about what this is because you're right like why it was probably so good is because it was a young people that had no idea what was happening and parents that probably also didn't know and then once you start to have those realizations like I could ask them to be portrayed in a good light to set me up after the show. Yeah, you just lose some of that kind of natural chemistry and organic like storylines. Yeah, did you off or do you watch Siesta Key because that's done by the same producer or creator of Laguna and the hell's I haven't I've tried and it's honestly, I feel like it's like People walking in slow motion for 45 minutes. That's so funny. Just the with the storylines or are you talking about the actual shots that are like set up like Glamour Shots? I don't I've only watched one episode. I really tried and I was just like this seems overly produced I can get into the drama because again, it's all just them slow motion walking across the beach and then they're at a bar and they're like, she's a bitch. No, she's a bitch and then it's like a commercial and I'm like, wait, wait, wait what? Yeah, that's fair. I watch it and I really enjoy it, but it is so different of Like the old days of reality T like they all get their hair and makeup done and you can tell when scenes are set up like hey, it's time to talk about this and took it..

"Your lives so much because I feel like they the Catholic does open up more than they would in like an official capacity. Yeah, it's actually something I'm really proud of and I think that that's the whole Community we've been able to build with Laguna Beach, like people aren't nasty and disrespectful. So they know that or cast members know that when they join there might be some comments may come through but I really moderate it and some I'll never forget during the Jason live. I put I always put up like an ask questions. What question do you want me to ask some was like asking if Lawrence the one who got away, no not going to ask him that he's married with a kid, like literally that is like that. It's really personal song. Yeah. You don't want to like scare them off when this is like the best information. We're going to get from them for sure. Did you ever watch Newport Harbor dead? Did but I don't really remember it to be honest. I remember giving it a few episodes and being like this isn't Laguna Beach and just moving on. Yeah. Why do you think that like Newport Harbor or is it the fourth season of Laguna the third season of Laguna? Why do you think that those just didn't have the same success as season one and two jobs. It's actually funny because I asked Kendra and candy that question. They were on season 3 and they're both like it just wasn't good. They were like, we just did not mesh all together like they did the first two seasons and honestly, I don't hate season three, I think season three is fun. As long as you don't you're not like oh wait this isn't the same as one into and it's like correct. It's not it's it's something but I didn't think it was that bad and I agree watched it recently and I was like, it's really not terrible. I think everyone just missed Lauren and Steven and Kristen. So yeah, I think that's pretty cool..

"So what I'll probably do is like watch an episode watch their recap do a podcast something like that. I love that and you were totally right. I don't think she really didn't. She seemed like that's why I probably like her the best though is because she's the person that I like can see myself. She just seems the realist and seems like the one that I would want to hang out with most jobs that just comes off as bad TV because she's just so normal and like really level-headed exactly actually talked to my boss about this today and he was like, why aren't they're nice people off reality T and I'm like cuz they're boring. I was like, you need one or two nice people and then make them all crazy. That's all you absolutely right. But yeah, I have some cheese. Soft spot for Whitney but not for any of the hills in the city like things one thing that I've been thinking about it. I think you touched on your podcast a little busy. But Lauren and like Stephen Etc Lee leaned away from Laguna Beach like after especially after the hills wrapped or you you even talked about how long Stephen and Lauren still hung out during the the hills taping and like lived in LA and wasn't featured on the show. Why do you think that recently like they've leaned back into that because they see how good they're going to be on she's doing honestly. No, I don't know. I think it's been so much time since the show and honestly, maybe they look at my page for a temperature check and see people are still really interested. So they're more open to it. Cuz Christians always leaned into it. She was like, yeah, it was a bitch on the hills and Laguna I don't care but I also think after the hills luring on a really bad rep people will re watch it and be like, oh she's actually not a good friend and I think Steven just wants to be remembered for like One Tree Hill not Laguna fair enough. That's actually that's so true. I really like Lauren as a person but and I really liked her during the time of the hills, but honestly, she seems so judgmental and yeah, like really dead. I don't know just like arrogant I guess or just like above other people who had I don't know specific boy drama and stuff. And yeah, I really I really get that. Yeah for sure and I was someone who was definitely a Lauren in my early twenties. I told all my friends I hated their boyfriends why I hated their boyfriends and why they should break up and they're like wage. You have anything going on in your life that you can just like focus on I'm like no, I don't so that's so funny. Yeah, I feel like a lot of people can slip into that like the life type friend. It's it's probably just I don't know something easy to do but and I think she's grown definitely grown from where we get sucked in our early twenties. Yeah. That's so true. I don't know how old you are. I'm sorry. I'm 28. Okay. Yeah, and that's another reason why I think people have been loving the Resurgence of this is because people like us in their late twenties are like longing for that like nostalgic like early 2000s simpler times type of things. Yeah. Absolutely..

"WHO KEEPS CALLING US The fact that he was ever like a likable guy and girls liked him after that scene, like how was I more hated than Stephen? Let's just put it that way. Between the media when they didn't have media back then and myself imagined I never. Like maybe I wasn't the nicest guy on the hill definitely screaming your. Slack. In her face to screaming her he looks crazy. He actually looks why were Stevens parents after that I would`ve Is. Going on like you. We need to deal with this like what is going on with you so that was such a crazy. Christian really handled herself and I it's like I wonder why she's not trying to have Steve here boyfriend. Hey WanNa make. Yeah and it's like the how fun it looked fine like you're dancing on the bar you're in Kabo you're drinking at that age like, yeah. Maybe it's not the classiest thing to do but it looks like the most fun thing to do and you're young and she wasn't the only one doing it was just kind of like the vibe of everything going on. And then don't think el-sisi missed one second of jumping in on that Oh. Yeah. Stephen don't worry. She is whatever she says, and then just like just don't worry about it and Elsie must be so confused she's like we hooked up last night why even yelling in this girl's why are you even care? She's like it's not worth it and trying to like. Hey Stephen Remember I'm here it is not working. He's like. Until the very end the morning after Stephen. Lc are talking about the night before with some friends at breakfast and I'll see tells steven that he doesn't have to be so mean and. Stevens says Kristen waste herself and she had the best times. I've had the best and worst at times with her you're so obsessed with their you're sitting there and talking to grow you hooked up with about this other girl still saying flagrantly I don't know why L. Season's over him either like, Hey, you clearly are not that enemy your way more I'm just the hookup like Elsie was just the backup hookup which was not cool. I would be like. Wondering talking about are wondering how much the show played into her even like if she was just into knowing like Stevens, the starlight everyone knew like Steven was the star of the show and she just wanted to. Know as pre the show. Yeah. It was pre the show during the show after the show like even when I all see shoe still seemed very into Stephen and very flirty, and so I think the cameras were actually an opportunity for her to like be with him. So I don't know but I don't know I she was not Over him because should have been like whatever you're obviously way too into kristen but it's her own thing. So, yeah and then Stevens like wasn't being mean to you as to Kristen. It's like regardless he's being mean and he's being a total jerk and I don't know why anyone is into him at this point. And then elsea talks about Christian being a little slow on a barn. It's like. Maybe in a different world, you would've wanted to be up there. It looked pretty fun. Okay. Let's not all you know. I probably would have been on the bar. I'm just saying my very fun so. Jim and Dennis, or talking, which is LLC's Dodd and Christians died and they were business partners or like they worked together sometimes. So I do know that their parents were actually friendly and they haven't heard from their daughters if I hadn't heard from my daughter and she was in Kabo, an on a TV show drinking I be like you need to come home what is going on I wanNA make sure you're okay when I make sure you're safe I wanna make sure that the filming is okay. The production is okay like these girls are not they're on their own in these DADS are acting. Coy about it I'm steven goes. Surfing on a sketchy. Island. Skim, boarding, which is all respect I heard one listener whose a skin quarter but can you imagine packing a skim? Board. To go to Kabo come is. Laguna Beach Thing I oh my gosh. Dude Matters Pack Boogie Board. So funny. Coach. Chris in Jessica at the hotel and Kristen and Steven they're talking about Kristen. Stephen how he made such a scene at the pool. And she tells him to get out of my life. So I would love to see where is that footage that they're talking about? They missed that where she's saying but I thought the night before she was saying Stephen Gada my life but they should have had the car ride on the way home and that's where they said that Stephen was like yelling at Kristen and the whole I don't know I, they didn't hoop dee the car ride on the way home from the club when they were all in the car together and he was yelling at Christian I, think they went with a skeleton crew. That's I mean I was so thrown off that we weren't getting the poolside they all got to. Jump in the pool and we didn't get to hear all the little pool chatting as like this. I would have been like no pool everyone has to drink play on their frigging cheese lounge back Christner's right Stephen Suga. So out of her life and take some. Deep breaths. everyone goes to dinner and Steven Kristen. Not Hang out with each other I don't know if they're trying to make each other jealous because it seems like a Christians just over it, but it seems like to me. So definitely making faces at each other across the table. And Kristen is feeding food to the guy next to her Stephen and Lauren are kissing each other and they leave together. So that was the most affection. I've ever seen and it's great if you're just be into Elsie like she obviously likes you. Like just young. So anyways. I've never seen. So happy in a seen. This is the she's literally glowing she. Grass. said the table. I. Wish Christine had. Ended the back and forth and like I don't like you you're Weirdo and my totally she just didn't even have enough care to even say that even attended but I also find it so funny to our. I'm sure a lot of our millions of listeners are huge cake how fans but I feel like the Christian of Laguna Beach is currently having a resurgence on instagram because she. Is Rebranding to her Laguna beach days. If you didn't see, she posted a very. We'll say provocative not in a negative way just. issue. Yeah. Liked very on a Thong and was shown everyone her but on instagram and I, felt like she is her spirit of the beach is back better than ever and I'm Chris Praying to God we get her for the hills because I don't think. I don't know how Rhody we'll be able to resist. As all love is flame. I know he says, he doesn't WANNA BE A. Baby Daddy but we'll see we'll see what happens when kids though he always says Mogae colors she'd be lucky jake. Skin. Yeah. That sounds like a deal. anyways. Yeah. So Kristen looks great i. wish she was just over him to and then I really think that Elsie and Stephen would have been a serious thing. So anyways. The morning after Elsie Stephen are on the beach and she is so happy and she's like I had fun last night and she's so into him and Steven seems like he's just having fun. So I, think they're on a different page and now that they were like a little more exclusive during this trip, it seems like she thinks that would be the new. They're they're making progress towards that way but I don't think. So I think Stevens Very. Serious about not being serious with her so I don't know. It's Kinda sad watching like I'll see you are Q. and pretty and Nice I. mean there's like you could have so many different guys up this guy who was like totally, not India. So. I don't know. Everyone goes back to Laguna and Steven, and Chris are pissed with each other. Dot. Com Blues your number change.

"So some of the greatest stuff I had there but anyways. Yeah. You just don't have the pressure of making adult decisions, but you feel like an adult in the whole world ahead of you. So it's just fun watching it and remembering and being back at this time because at this time I was in crested Butte I just got back from living in Italy for seven months and I was in crested butte and instead of having a senior year of high school all I was went to have a freshman year of fashion school art school whatever the whatever the. Versus. Seriously anyways back to this scene, Morgan and Kristina say they like her better when she's not around low and I also liked lauren more when she's not around low because lawyer vicious very like snobby I think she likes to kind of be that way or it's like her personality or kind of this like. I don't know but I also always lauren more I actually liked it when they weren't friends because I felt like Lauren could be like more herself anyways I think there are friends again now. So not going see too much but it is an interesting observation that they have that they think Lauren is different when she's around. So I definitely had observed that myself in person and. Then Elsie picks up the two faced lip gloss, which was very organic, and then you also want to say the Kylie thing you've said Oh. Thank you. God. I'm so glad you have a great memory. So before this episode and before L. C.'s recent announcement that I saw on US weekly. Zoom. I was saying ninety the biggest mistake Elsie ever did was have that manager Mack spearmint. Cotton artists and not a real Kris Jenner level. Hustler I mean, that's a real deal agent manager and I think she probably just committed to this guy and thought he was in it from the beginning but it's just a hard because if you're going to time machine, there hadn't been a Kylie Jenner billionaire there hadn't been influencers in the so was new things I do understand you would have had to be very forward thinking as to see this is impossible but so far on this show more than fashion, she's actually talked about makeup and doing makeup in going shopping, and even at the fashion show, she was talking about how the? A Work of art says a good agent or manager back. Then she would have as the teen girl in Laguna Beach. They would have come out with the makeup lines pre kylie like lip kit or just lip gloss that was called. You know frikkie in Emerald Bay, and it was like a blue like emerald and the private beach or you know I don't know all the names of like they have all these secret beach names I would named all my. Little lip glosses after different Laguna beach hang out spot and and then I would have dropped that in Pacific Sun wear something totally in the mall that. Back, then these kids were shopping at and I think she would be a billionaire I now and it's right after saying to hide you. Two days later, I, see this US weekly alert about her announcing her new make blind congratulations great whatever. But you are fifteen years too late and I obviously hope for success for everyone and I'm sure she'll get a little success, but you will not be a billionaire makeup at this point I. You couldn't get in a more oversaturated market you're not going to be able to compete against the Jeffrey Stars and. Said etc.. The Charles or whatever I mean. There's too many to name and but she was ahead of all them on a television show getting pry five million viewers when that mattered twenty million viewers. So it is interesting how the universe works out saying that, and then like three days later she announces it. But now it is what it is, and you know should've would've could've think that was a huge missing Bo chief in sale on agreed. So cut to Christina's birthday party at Joe's crab shack this is one of the most this is the most fun seeing I've seen so far and it's so interesting that kristen is there and. Is Not invited. So it does show that the group like I said is closer to Kristen, then to Lauren to Elsie so. Yeah. Alex. hoosiers their Gary's their Kristen's there. It just looks really fun and it's interesting. Gary there I always thought it says Gary Kristen's friend I've met Gary and actually thought Gerry was L. friends. So I don't know if he's friends with both of them or like whatever. But I had no idea he was friends with and I thought it was a very diehard team Elsie which was a very real thing. So I was like, Oh, I didn't know that I don't know if. He got he switched teams or was friends with the whole thing was very interesting to me. So anyways Christian and Gary wrote a note to the hot guy at the table next door over and he comes in Chas them. This whole scene is so an kristen is such a Mac Daddy I love her game. She's just so fun like that's one of the things I love about Christian. She's always having fun. She's like confident and silly but anyways, it was such a fun seem to watch added. She got that guy's number. So it's like Stephen, who steven, you're a tripping thinking that. She's wrapped around your finger. So also that I love this cut cut the trays house where Stephen Deeter pollster are all there and I I think they're having their red sippy cups because which are alcohol I was told allegedly by the cast members would ever they had the red sippy cups it was always alcohol in there. So they have lots of red cups probably drinking a little bit which I don't know if the producers. They knew about it or allegedly I think they knew about it. But I don't know if they just tried not to intervene and watch or if it was just a unspoken thing at. All very interesting. So anyways, Stephen thinks that things are great with Christian back on his finally figured it out. It's like, okay. You totally cannot figure out Christian first of all and she is a player and you are sounded like the Sh-, he's just like I got kristen back. It's just a very like gossipy girl tape of conversation finally figured out you didn't figure her al.. Jay Cutler about thou- fearing K. Cavallo. She'll keep our toes. He's like. A know what? Speaking of Kristen if you don't already follow Kristen's social media pre or post divorce, she's on a whole new level grind shoutout K. Caveat for turning it up. It's so fun to watch her new. New frigging level. She's bringing speaking of her. There was a lot of controversy on twitter that Jay. Cutler was. Dating Tammy Lauren call her I guess a political. Commentator out there but they both denied it. So it is. That's an interesting little story. I always liked to believe where there's smoke there's fire, but that's not necessarily true. Okay. So now we go to Joe's crab shack again and he gets. Person Tony. My Gosh that is Tony Breaking. News. Is in talks to get the most famous Guy Tiktok or twenty two, million, point five sorry for the interruptions breaking news is how this podcast works..

"Here we go. We did the best podcast in the history of podcasts last week on time, delivered it for incredible listeners but we had a technical difficulty parent problems. The Monitor for gunners sleeping was in the room not close but in the room and the frequency caught up on our little zoom recorder and ruined our audio and. Bag Steve, our producer please Poe cities. I can't post this and it was a work of art. We sat there through the whole do look at the beach pausing it in between each little clip we talked about which will start doing in the future. So don't judge this version. We have the new level and guess what we're going to start filming it at post to get off the do recap. Spidey podcasts YouTube Channel Breaking News. So you watch US react while we SIP OUR DRINKS Last week I was drinking Hoti Taty, which was really great. So. We are here. Yes. Very excited. Maybe I should make a holiday Taty for this podcast in honor of the other one omega. Is. Round. was requiring. Extremely, hot stream like you baby. Thank you honey. Thank you. So yeah already gave you full disclosure the Dow but we watched it. We know it and yeah, it was. We got notes. We took notes right now it's. It's almost my birthday which is very exciting September virgo season. Happy Birthday all you virgos out there. You know I love all of you. That's for sure ready. She get into this episode. Okay. So Laguna Beach episode four our already on this is eighteen candles. So that's the name of it. How how regional instead of sixteen candles this setup an elsie? Is Not happy about Stephen Getting attention from the models at the fashion show and Steven goes running back to kristen, of course, and Elsie and low are drifting from Morgan and Kristina all very real things. So of course, Elsie is not happy about Stephen. Of course, he was running back to Kristen. So scene by scene, we start here at Christina's house her. Mom gets her and audition during her trip for wicked rent hairspray. First of all, it's very impressive that they are going to New York by themselves. So we talked about this last week Spencer was hope that the parents are telling them how dangerous New York is but at their age, I was definitely living on my own and traveling and it's a hard. Choice because they're about to be in college, they're living on their own, they're going out on their own so you can't be like your unless you're going to college in New York but even then as a caution, you start in a dorm and you have like your friend like just going from high school I didn't go to New York until I was. Twenty I dunno San Francisco is pretty gnarly and there was no like real dorm. You're Kinda just like on your own you went to hurt school has. All. KRISTA OR KEEP I. Know she said Fashions. Not. Arts. Later I. Yeah. So anyways, I am hoping that Christina is an amazing singer I think I remember but I. Hope She really knocks out the park. So it's either going to be for wicked rent or hairspray which are all unbelievable and it's great that she opportunity because she was filming for MTV also her mom's outfit was so boss and q a really liked that so Morgan Christine are going to New York, they contemplate how close they are with Elsie and low I think that they're not liking them or feeling them and it's kind. Of a group dynamic it seems like Elsie and low or actually on the outs with the whole group because Morgan and Kristina are friends with Alex Kristen you know everyone. So it seems like the group is not split up it's just elsie and low and the other group, and then also are at the mall and they questioned how close they are to Morgan and Kristina. So they're walking around the mall. It looks so nice like we said last time Spencer's survey Shen about the mall and Oh. Thank you comes this is a this is deja Vu podcast because I hardy talked about this for our deputies. Say. So thank you hear such a Ti that good memory I was saying the stalled. Feeling of them, coming down the escalators in the south coast. Plaza Mall really just felt like the most real thing. I've seen on a reality show in years because nobody in the in the mall cares I think they probably had a small little crew low key probably thought they were just high school students doing some high school project. They didn't think this was some MTV television show this. Is being film so they can just walk through the mall and it felt like a real fly on the wall type EXP- like Voyeurs I'm like, oh my gosh we're in this on the beach and I don't know to me now after years of watching reality shows and being on reality shows to actually see something that feels so authentic and organic and like a documentary that would've been on. Sundance or something. What's interesting is this could have been a documentary this show one, a lot awards if they had instead of making it to seasons had edited Laguna Beach in a two hour documentary for Sundance. This would've blown people out of the water with all the drama packed in the two hours. It's such a fun time in life when you're like about to be out of the house and you feel like such an adult and you're like making these choices but you don't have the pressure of being an adult yet like the finances or at least I, didn't and I'm sure people have very different circumstances. And I was not wearing Noah glasses at that age actually I was going to thrift stores and I found this was before thrift stores were like Super Trendy people would be like, oh my gosh. Yeah. Go to thrift store and your first of all 'cause that's all I can afford and second of all because they have amazing things. So I found like Dior Wallet there and now vintages all coupon stuff but. Yeah Very Edgy when I used to do it and I love thrift store..

"Your feet anyways. Fashion show nightmare disaster and then I love and she's driving and the next day I knows something so funny and then she's like, oh my gosh, I, wonder what Christian is going to say about Stephen. Not. Like oh I don't even think Chen realize that they like hooked up or how to think or like it was just so irrelevant she's like I wonder how Christians going to feel about Stephen, with those models not like, oh, how do you feel are like it was something so unacknowledged that Lauren wasn't even in the equation to one of her best friends about Steven was not interesting. Because if I'm if Lauren told me that she hooked up with Stephen which I don't know if she told Jenner not divy. You okay. Where you bomb like that wasn't even a question that was asked from general. No they definitely were. Now, that's what I'm saying. I don't know if she had told Genu- or if it just happened so far in the past, she didn't tell her recently alike for one of her best friends it was like, how is Christina feel? Crazy anyways a very interesting dog. Good. No. And then at my other thing that I love so much was the date between Stephen and Kristen and Steven has this big smile on his his can't wait to make. Christian. So jealous about models and she flipped it on him so hard she looks like he's Getting. You. Go I just walk Chung. Can I went to. I went to dinner with Zach and he's like what and she's a guy girlfriend and. How do you know? Would you guys do and then you didn't say. Than these X.. You. That's it just went. Oh Yeah. That's a good thing. Look nothing happened but he the whole air was out of his sails about the models are relevant. Didn't even matter but he went to L. A. he had been digging in his head for however long kit we tell Kristen is and didn't even faze her at all and then he was gills. The dinner. So I, love that flip. That was very funny and then here's the question of the night. It's like. Now it's evolved as people are adults in a different way or I, don't know what they did. But anyways so are you going home after dinner and you know every time we've seen it'll be like, yeah, I'm just going home like I don't want to hang out with you anymore she's like, no, I don't WanNa go home, and then it's like, what do you do I don't know what are you gonNA do I. Don't know what do you WanNa do they go back and forth and then they end up going to somebody's house together. this show is a masterpiece is. They've captured. I give it's real. This is all I mean yeah are. It's like this really been should schoolers and Laguna Beach speaking of beach and I think it is funny that Lauren. Very, orange, county style and this is not unique to hurts. You know they'll take top SORTA but it's funny that. You know I went to school in the west side here in girls that were in fashion versus how Lauren is Jesse versus I grew up with girls into fashion and their outfits. It's fascinating that somebody into fashion Her outfits were Alvis they were just. Obviously, critiquing a fashion school journey, but it's maybe she wanted to learn fashion and fashion school because. I mean I was more fashionable. I should've had a line with Coles I'm just saying. Don't shave here I'll tell you what. At the same time, I was in Italy wearing a miss Sony scarf Hutson have. My knees I was fashion. Okay. I had a Prada bag that my whose mother bought me. I was wearing red practice slides. Slides were very headed. People are now wearing slides I was. Seventeen I also was wearing miniskirts should not have been wearing in the clubs I wore I had even on a budget which I had I shop at thrift stores which you found the most fashion at the best prices. I had a dior wallet that I found at Seventeen there. So I will tell you I was obsessed. That's all I'm saying. fashioned. School. because. Everyone. I. Know that when the fashion school just they were passion when children that over the neck I felt at, my should've been a makeup artist seems like she definitely had all make. She should've Mak- I got to. Commercial could have been you don't want your Your mess care tripping down your face 'cause I put via in my dear my scene and stage of, but you don't want that look. So use my cry proof Mascara Suon now she really cry but No what she could say is let your mood represent your makeup because she is all about seeing her makeup and her mood and let's your Shenice that. I've never thought about that. The whole world has shifted in front of my eyes she could easily and. Sleep with. A makeup name Chelsea. Could be on the little shadowed. The funniest thing is she didn't want to be called L. C. Anymore when she was in the hills and all that it was like a big deal not to be called or Muslim Nelson and Not that I know I think she wanted to be Lauren like it sounded more Mike Older I think she didn't WanNa be Elsie from Guna beach near where she went to be Lauren from the hills but I would Kelsey out is a cool nickname. LC starving Chelsea's..
Indigenous Artist to Artist, Adapting To Pandemic & Daring to Dream
"Pam is a talented Laguna Pueblo and Apache Metal Smith who likes to push boundaries and expand the definition of what is considered native art. He came to fine art jewelry through the world of body piercing and learning to make his own jewelry there, and he now uses materials like titanium and complex. Processes to produce creative modern jewellery that reflects his cultural roots right now, he's working on these incredible titanium feather earrings that are colored brightly using some fancy submission process or something but they look like something a futuristic native warrior woman would wear and I absolutely love them. So he starts by telling us how Cova has deeply impacted the Indian art community. Everything started happening in the march timeframe right. So we had the heard show that those of us that were able to to participate in that we had that, but you could sense something was coming right I mean the attendance wasn't as high. And Man shortly after that is when the ish just hit the fan right like states are down like for for those of us here into Pablo's like the Pueblos shutdown really early I mean fast. Yeah. Just like straight up no visitors and then and then you really started hearing The reaction by organizations, riots swire. Then put out the notice that like we're going to postpone Indian market. There are number of other shows that I do outside of the native art market. Those shows are being canceled. A potentially had a museum opening like a Solo Exhibition slated for this year from the heard museum that gets postponed. So like all this obvious postponement like really happen rapidly right at the very beginning which I will say I'm very grateful that happened. Then because you can now plan right we're no longer we're not reacting to what's happening and I think that's what's really made. A transition in a sense a little more thoughtful and a little more purposeful because essentially I think all of us in the native art field we were I would argue to say we were one hundred percent or one hundred, very high percentage, right like eighty to ninety percent reliant on shows for revenue generation, and as you go into March and April and realize your entire year. Is Gone like there's zero opportunity i. think everybody really just dug deep and really started to think okay. How am I going to get through this? You know especially for those of us who are fulltime artists I, mean I've been full time for over twenty years. It's It's. So. So I think I think with any with any culture. That's. been resilient for centuries right. You're native population is really taken taking the bull by the horns in developing either innovative ways to to change their revenue dynamic oranges using what they already how which is. I think the case for most of us through social media these days right I mean being able to push out to get the word out to say, Hey, look, this is what I have available and I think more importantly there has been a lot of. Empathy in the sense that people within within the native art community and I think even a much broader sense those that collect art or are fans of makers that realize it's like if something is coming out right now the only way to acquire it as online. Right, there's no shows. So so I think you're seeing the dynamic by dynamic change a little bit more.

"And Michael's and Amazon and Walmart as well So. Trying to get my transmission sorted out I have. I've transmissions but they're none of them are fucking marked. You know what I mean just say. On it or five, ten or six ten, but they don't follow having you there. With a Sharpie mark on it? Yeah. They say like six ten or they'll say like. Close ratio or something something like that. You don't have much more. There's little bits and pieces on them trying to find one to swap out with the. GD The one in the six, ten, probably will work but anyway. the five ten different drummer cars got the transmission that drives me nuts. It's got the one where second gear third gear or two hundred. RPM. which is essentially the same gear, which is it's confusing when you're driving it because he. Doesn't feel you learn it eventually, but it doesn't feel like you're in the right gear or feels like you're in some weird inbetween gear, your brain doesn't. calculated. We Have A. Video from inside the car unfortunately, the cameras mounted up a little high because the robot was a little bit different. So you don't really see that far in front of it in front of the track, you can just Kinda see the Mir. Yeah. We just have this for now but there was another camera mounted outside of the. Yeah, we'll. We'll cut together better video for the first lap. I cut this one. Oh, you did. Yeah we can watch. Could cut. NAARDEN starting race now. We're not spending ten minutes in the grid. Going into turn on. Her Shoulder. Guys try they're gonNA try. Why Everybody fly around. Time Troy's going inside. Champion himself in their troy arm ish. Yeah. The two, thousand, two, right there. That's one of the two thousand two's be. W. Laughing that full get you. Going toward turn five and A. Little Ahead of you missed ships this race which definitely cost me and they momentum cars I I hate this transmission it's funny. We we we saw on the straightaway of your Miss Yeah through lifestyle. Like two or three or one residents like in the wrong gear when I was coming coming through on people this Paseo the full momentum cars can can't pick the wrong gear. With these cars I was standing on the on the straightway. And someone was there talking to me might have been just in or something from the guy brought motor home. And he's like Hachem, some of these cars are going so much faster on the street I said it's how fast they're coming out of that Corner I. Watch. them fly around that corner and how much speed they already have. That's momentum that you're talking about is here coming out of this turn whereas we're watching this. Some cars seem like they're flying, right? All right good job there. A looks good. Yeah. Car Look Good Transmissions tough on me but. The the comedy of errors. Really cost us was the air filters and you know it's just one of those. It's just one of those things where I looked at the car first things first. Jim Fula finished a car but he never did put it an air filter on the car which I don't. Not. Angry. About I don't blame him. There's a there's always a sequence of events like I try to tell people all the time when they go like. You know I just I left the keys in the car just for a second because I was running into the dairy queen and the next thing you know that thing started rolling on its own and I'm like, no, don't leave the car running. But it was fine. You know I know but there's a sequence of events that they start off as nothing and they end up with your car mashing into a boss with special needs kids now and you're getting sued like everything starts off sorta nothing so. Jim Give us gave us a car and it didn't have air filter sciences has had open stacks. Size kind of looking at it. I don't I don't want to run open stacks and so Shaun said well and put some screens on it. So we have some fine screens an fine. So he made a nice screen. You guys know the story probably did a real good custom sean job and put them inside of the stacks instead of over the top of the stacks and Blah Blah Blah and matt sent a picture of to jam and like it's GonNa cut down at the high end at the high RPM's going to cut the airflow screen and I'm like I get it I. Mean it's a screen you can see through but it's kind of fine and you could see where it would cut down slope. So then went into inform Sean like, Hey, man, we gotta get rid of the screens with Sean, wasn't happy about is pride was hurt a little bit like I thought he did a good job. They look great and it's like the Guy Racist he's cars all the time says it's GonNa hurt seventy five, hundred RPM high end. It's GonNa so I said Uh. All right. Well, let's get rid of screens and then I said what do we have? Do we have one of those half sausage? Foam filters runs around here and we looked around we didn't have anything. Yeah. So then I went and looked at B. R. E. Five ten, and that had just a foam individual sock that went over each right. Each one was just sort of. Clamp. died on and so I said I guess we can just use the socks. And then. The biggest mistake of my whole life I I said Jim? I said, what? What are you run? You know what? What do you guys like and he just sent me a picture that sorta looks like a half a sausage not half a ham ruling on. Like one hot dog bone..

"I really like it I. Think it's something that thank you said I would listen to. My favorite Taylor albums are more the country beginning albums are I think my favorite but I love this album actually i. don't know what I hear cussing is just weird. I don't I don't know. It's not like my favorite. You're also not you don't swear. So it's weird for you. You don't swear. So yeah, I guess I just don't. I. Swear a long and using chat ups a bad word. issue. But sometimes when like I drink I'll say customer open the other night when he was drunk and she couldn't get outlander work I. think she dropped more F. Arms than Taylor but five really it's like being funny. No, you were free for concered nothing funny about. Are you kidding. I. Don't remember. Vita. is in. Regular daily life I don't know it's just like its tail, but that's just part of also being a human and growing up. So like I appreciate that part of her, then it's also like whoa advantage it's. I know I know. So I it just throws me off I, do like it too because I'm like you know why Taylor can gossip she wants a frigging cost too. So anyways I feel both but I love the songs they love Cardigan I think that's so good. Love number-one in love August Spencer, is born August. So yeah, it's fun on I just love the Taylor energy she's my favorite I think she's just such a great person. She just has such great energy I love the way she does things. I Love Taylor. Love her mom I. Love what she stands for who she is. So I just think I really needed this album I feel like people really needed this album I think it's really uplifting. Reminds people like what's important what they love? It's a great connector for a lot of people because there's a lot of Swiss cheese stand together and have her and needed us so I think it was really great for her to do that for her fans and everything I also love that guy she did that song with love that song, I think it's so great I loved the Duke. I, love that deep voice with her voice and so that one is really great. I'm so happy. Spencer go the again because he is such a swifty and I'm a swifty but I think he is on a different level because obviously you know he's got the cardigans but polls nobody got to for the how right we house. But basically the card it could have been Friday us that is Jerry came and maybe find the package say you without the edge have my address like undermined like of mealy address okay. So anyways, all spite are are are, but I am so happy we have one for the House and so we that Spencer has so one I'm so we that Taylor has his album out for everybody in for is in the more listen listen to it it just as one of those souls sinking albums, it really resonates steeper and like the more you listen to it the more you love it too psych why Christian Music Spencer would say which he doesn't love the I. Love No this the Christian music is nine your favorite. Chutney Joel God's got. You like that liquid Jimmy. But you you like that like. That I love Christian. Music Guy. Aren't whatever. You know you know I'll be honest here. Yeah. So I. That doesn't mean God I'm sorry that's whatever. Whatever so anyways I this this album's gray. It's what the world needs and I think it's just awesome. So I'm really happy with that I love listening to it. It's so great for I send. Yeah. That's that's my outside perspective on the steelers. Tonight that I'm not going to be able to watch. On. S I'm watching it. You can do it every like you don't even watch that. You like your phone and listen I only. Like five Jasper says full name watch. Okay. Just listened to a podcast for they recap it's Day like talk about. Of episode. Did you listen to those the other day. Oh. My Gosh. They're like and as she walked in wearing the Red Cardigan I could not believe she wore that red card again I'm like, oh my gosh, she's recaptured. Wild where he play GonNa have this setup hit pause like she just walked in with this play. Bright. Eyed, are now I don't know they. They remember they recap together. I have to wake up with gutter in the morning you get you like asleep. Amendment now, three hours a night when.
