There was a war against Meghan to but the teasers for their new Netflix docuseries promise more revelations. It's a dirty game. Nobody's mind is going to be changed watching this documentary. If anything, the people who hate Meghan and Harry are going to be like, these people are ridiculous, they're causing shame to the royal family. Ayesha has arica is a former government adviser turned journalist who says Harry and Meghan are at the heart of a culture war in the UK. But in recent days, Meghan's claims of racism while a working royal have been bolstered. When I started. The former head of counter terrorism policing in England told Britain's channel four that Meghan faced credible threats from far right extremists with some individuals prosecuted. You would feel under threat all of the time. And last week, a royal staffer lady Susan Hussey was forced to resign by the palace after repeatedly demanding to know where a black British woman was from. But none of that has changed their position of the couple's longtime enemies, the British tabloids doesn't make more sense to hear our story from us. Oh, shut up. Or TV anchors like Piers Morgan has arika says some people in this country simply aren't ready or willing to have an honest conversation about racism, Meghan and Harry have become a bit of a lightning conductor for a lot of anger from a lot of these people who are clinging to the past and those people don't want to lessen about their racism from an American duchess. "Now the paper review on Bloomberg daybreak Europe. The news you need to know from today's papers. Resignation of lady Susan Hussey as a senior member of the royal household following comments she made to a black charity boss. It comes just as the prince and Princess of Wales had to Boston for a three day visit, their first overseas trip since the death of the queen. The Financial Times leads with the U.S. and the EU and U.S. turn up the heat on Elon Musk over Twitter, the telegraph talking about Andrew Bailey being the wrong person to save us from this crisis, and guardian headlines with a health story saying officials were slow to act on COVID contact tracing with more we've got Leigh Anne garands. So again, let's talk about your interrupt. Let's talk let's start with that financial time story. So excited to see you, Charlie wells. I interrupted you morning to you. Yeah, so let's start with the FT, which says Elon Musk is under increasing pressure from the U.S. and the EU over his ownership of Twitter. Now this comes as regulators clamp down on the billionaires yesterday, the European Commission threatened Elon Musk with a ban and less Twitter stuck to the strict content moderation rules elsewhere over in the U.S. a treasury secretary Janet Yellen indicated that Washington was also reviewing the purchase of Twitter and of course he met Tim Cook yesterday from Apple at the headquarters which he tweeted ironically. Yes, which is nice to see some friendliness, perhaps returning to that relationship. Let's turn to the telegraph next an opinion piece talking about the governor of the Bank of England. Yes, indeed, so as you just said, this is a comment or opinion piece from Matthew Lynn, and in this article he outlined a reason why he feels the time has really come to replace the governor of the Bank of England who is of course Andrew Bailey. The financial columnist and the author masculine argues that the Central Bank printed far too much money and also lost it control of inflation. And he also accuses Bailey of failures in the September mini budget which of course we saw the Sterling dramatically decline and Linda looking

"Lead with the resignation of lady Susan Hussey as a senior member of the royal household of following comments that she made to a black charity boss at a royal event. It comes just as the prince and Princess of Wales head to Boston for three day visit their first overseas. But I'm asking for an embryonic support albeit in obvious it has three sport punta con Diego careers. Albeit ocean obviously sport pun dot com. Careers. These trips since the death of the queen elsewhere though, some other interesting stories the Financial Times leads with the EU and U.S. turn up the heat on Elon Musk over Twitter. Should we start there? Bloomberg's in the Ann goans is with us. Good morning, Leanne. Look, the FT. So Elon Musk is, is thinking with another separate business of putting chips into people's brains to help with terrible diseases, but then he's also under a lot of pressure when it comes to Twitter. Yes, and that will be linked to his business when he looks at, is it Neuralink Caroline? I think so. Yeah, so that's right. I was going to say Lincoln link put we got there in the end. So he's been a busy man, but the FT says Elon Musk has just under increasing pressure from the U.S. and also the EU over his ownership of Twitter now that comes as regulators have clamped down on the billionaires push to transform the social media network into a free wheeling space of free speech, letting people back on to the site at that have been banned. And yesterday, the European Commission threatened Elon Musk with a ban unless Twitter stuck to these strict content moderation rules that are in place, and the US Treasury secretary Janet Yellen also indicated that Washington was reviewing his purchase of the social media site Twitter. That's not it. He's got something else going on. Yesterday he tweeted that he had met a Tim Cook at the Apple headquarters and that there were not going to remove Twitter from the App Store. So this meeting between Elon Musk and Tim Cook seems to be easing a standoff between these massive tech giants. Yeah, I think that's it's a very interesting story, especially as regulation on social media certainly in the UK comes to the fore with the legislation long running legislation around the Molly Russell case, yes. What social media companies in the UK are responsible for. So yeah, I think that's also very important. And then the telegraph story. We have really a town from grabbing headline here. Andrew Bailey is the wrong person to save us from the crisis. This in the telegraph Leon tell us more. Yes, indeed, it is a good catching headline, isn't it today? And the telegraph has his comic piece from Matthew Lynn. And in this article, he's really outlining the reasons why he feels the time has come to replace the governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey. So the financial columnist and author argues that the Central Bank just printed too much money in lost control of inflation and is accusing Bailey of failures in that September mini budget crisis. Lin sites Bailey's testimony to the House of lord economic affairs committee on Tuesday and the clash between Bailey and the former governor lord mervyn king, but interestingly, Lynn does make the argument that the bank did fail to support trust and qua Tang during this time. The agenda of trust he argues was no one over the summer and Lynn says surely the bank's job was to support the prime minister, and there was no mystery about the plans, so there we are. That's his take on a Bailey handled the situation. Alyssa, we had a discussion about this, didn't we? I think it is such an interesting piece. I think it's the first major one that has called for Andrew Bailey that helm of the Bank of England to go two and a half years into the job. He's a former regulator himself that has called for Andrew Bailey that helm of the Bank of England should go two and a half years into the job. He's a former regulator himself. And perhaps some could argue that Lynn is right when he is critical of what the Bank of England does these criticisms have been made by many people too much money printed, et cetera but he really goes quite hard on the Bank of England. We were speaking to the chair of that House of lords committee. So we did discuss yesterday at length, you know, what Bailey and mervin king were sort of arguing over, but that Lynn calls the Bank of England intellectually exhausted, that struck me as quite strong. Yeah, and he's also saying to replace Bailey before any more damage is done, and in that interview yesterday, who you were speaking to, said it was just extraordinary that this actually happened. So there's been a lot of criticism around this, and obviously lord mervyn king was before Andrew Bailey at the Bank of England and once again this weekends his position getting criticism from king and this is what Lin is really arguing Caroline. Okay, Leon garan, thanks so much for that review of the newspapers. This is Bloomberg. Markets, headlines and breaking news 24 hours a day. The Bloomberg business book quick take. This is a Bloomberg business flash. Pablo big European headquarters here in London, I'm Caroline Hepburn with this Bloomberg radio business flash. So yesterday at the U.S. close, we had really a very strong finish than NASDAQ extended gains to something like 4% at the end of play. Partly it was because of this interpretation of Jerome Powell's speech to the brookings institute and Powell a signaling path to slow down the pace of interest rate hikes, and yet many critics amongst the Mark cudmore on the Bloomberg terminal talking about how really the emphasis was that boring costs will still need to keep rising, so why does stock markets have that interpretation of power quite puzzling to some, having said that the stock rally continues over in Asia, that's also partly driven though by what seems to be a subtle but perhaps firm change in China appears to be softening the COVID stance, the exit timeline Bloomberg economic sees that as full reopening in China by mid 2023. There's still some months away but quite soon, MSCI age Pacific is currently up by 1.9% CSI 300 gains 1.3% this morning Shanghai and Shenzhen comps both in the green and you've also got stock futures very much higher for Europe so following that Wall Street jump, U.S. stocks 50 futures up by 1.3% how much of that is month end positioning. But a big dollar spot index now slumping half of 1%, the Euro trades at one spot zero four four four or prices are slightly down WTI crew features of $80 22 and in terms of U.S. benchmark yields then U.S. yields are stabilizing now a 360 one on the ten year and the more policy sensitive two year at four 33. So still deeply inverted, of course, on the twos tens. That is your Bloomberg business flash. Let's get back to Lee and go and he's got the rest of our top stories
